Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Beginnings And Endings has been split into Beginnings and Endings, and Kamille Bidan is in the latter page. In general, some of the potholes in the Allies/Enemies/etc section need to be updated to reflect the deities current locations.

So, it has come to my attention that Rick, Kine, and Coo don't really fit the definition of Assist Character; they feel more like a take on the Power-Up Mount. Should we find a different trope for them?

Freudian Excuse: Not one person is entirely good or evil; something will have to have happened in the past to make them what they are today.

  • Opposed by: Stephen Strange
  • Dreads: The Batman That Laughs
  • Wary of: Kefka Palazzo
  • Professor Hugo Strange is one of Batman's oldest foes, predating even the Joker. A scientist and psychiatrist obsessed with Batman, he is one of few villains to have deduced his identity as Bruce Wayne. His ultimate dream (and one born of a power fantasy) is to be Batman and he will go to whatever extreme to accomplish that. Among his sins are developing fear gas before the Scarecrownote , mutating and brainwashing goons for crime, and being an overall calculating, manipulative sociopath. Though a bodybuilder, his greatest strength has always been his mind.
  • Hugo Strange had over time become one of the more obscure Batman rogues, though he's far from a D-Lister. The Joker himself doesn't think much of him, boasting that the reason he displaced Batman as his Arch-Enemy is because he has style and Strange isn't all that interesting. The psychologist doesn't pay his insults any mind. Hugo Strange has remained the same cerebral villain throughout continuities, but his obsession with Batman and perception that he is a Worthy Opponent has never changed. Of course being Batman, Bruce doesn't reciprocate this feeling and treats him as the vicious man he is.
    • Originally, Hugo Strange was a criminal scientist who uses a stolen "concentrated lightning" machine to generate a dense fog, allowing him to rob banks unseen. He deduced Batman's identity simply by taking off his cowl. Post-Crisis, he was revamped into the psychologist people know him as today. Strange was abandoned as a child and raised in state houses, but in spite of his poor upbringing he managed to be a self-made man and a skilled psychologist. He has ties to the mob. Hugo Strange is usually depicted as a bodybuilder but this is mainly for show; for true muscular help he will use his Monster Men. They're people he kidnapped, experimented on and mutated into giant monstrous humanoids.
    • One of his more recent outings saw him as head of Arkham City. His plans of exterminating the residents and killing every criminal in Gotham no matter how minor their crimes were obviously despicable, though his analysis of the Batman rogues were on point. That said, he is not above working with Batman rogues in other canons; in the Gotham Underground storyline he teamed up with Mad Hatter, Doctor Death, and Two-Face. Personally he's somewhat cordial with Jonathan Crane as he notices their similarities, being villainous psychologists who utilize fear gas and other chemicals.
  • Hugo Strange used to have the position as Dr Angus Bumby's high priest before he managed to ascend for the trope of Scary Shiny Glasses, what with his glasses tending to obscure his eyes and light up or reflect his surroundings. Professor Strange definitely fits the trope of Psycho Psychologist. Non-evil psychologists are appalled by the fact that a sociopath like Hugo Strange managed to get the qualifications, and the fact he is legitimately skilled at his job but uses it for evil instead infuriates him. Opposing him is one of the main reasons why Sigmund Freud has sided with Batman. Though sex trafficking is something Strange isn't guilty of unlike Bumby, he is more than familiar with breaking people down and turning them into slaves; just as his Monster Men. Alice was naturally horrified and disgusted at the fact they have "collaborated".
  • The Phantom Thieves of Heart are naturally repulsed that someone so evil has managed to become a member of an institution meant to understand and help people. Hugo Strange was at first interested in them, noting his own use of brainwashing, and their ability to explore the psyches of others. However he is also fearful that they will try to steal his heart, as his immense pride would see this as a Fate Worse than Death. Hugo Strange is a man who was tortured and brutally beaten almost to death, and still refused to cow to demands to reveal the Batman's identity after all. That said he still finds their conviction satisfying along with their abilities, so there's a little bit of one-sided Villain Respect.
  • One of the major differences between him and Scarecrow is that the latter is Ax-Crazy, and the former is mostly sane if you ignore his obsession and flagrant Lack of Empathy. A chemical genius and geneticist, he has regular connections with the House of Science. He is one of few scientists capable of stomaching Professor Hojo, though this isn't because they share the same motives. Strange is content with trying to become Batman and strive to become the Übermensch, but he considers Hojo's expertise of unethical experimentation profitable. He and Dr XXX are twisted scientists who Strange values in terms of their expertise. It's more of a meeting of the minds than a Villainous Friendship, however.
  • A few have compared and contrasted Hugo Strange with Nurse Ratchet. The two are ruthless and cruel figures in an occupation where such a trait is...undesirable as far as most people are concerned. She's a sadistic Battleaxe Nurse in charge of a mental asylum, that values order among her patients and hates unruliness. Professor Strange has mused over her comments that she believes Batman is insane, and admits she might have a point. The two enjoy having coffee together and talking about their outlooks on mental health and life, though they don't always agree on subjects; Nurse Ratchet finds some of his more heinous crimes worrying. Mark Grayson consider the two as bad as each other at the end of the day, and that Ratchet's distaste is more a conflict with her Lawful Evil and Hugo's Neutral Evil viewpoints. He still dislikes Strange more as he has had experience with a scientist who makes human-monsters before.
  • Much like the Joker, Hugo Strange is obsessed with Batman/Bruce Wayne. As mentioned, this is different from the game/sick joke of the Joker; Professor Strange sees his Arch-Enemy as an Übermensch and aspires to become him. Though he knows Bruce's backstory, he believes Batman is a power fantasy and not the desire for no-one to be harmed again due to crime that actually drives him. One would think a psychologist would be aware of Psychological Projection, but Hugo Strange is no ordinary psychologist. He even likes to dress up and act the part if he can. It's not that different a desire from Syndrome, who wanted to be a superhero for the glory and not why someone should actually be a superhero. The two make quite the team; Strange isn't one to fight actually superpowered foes, but with access to Syndrome's technology he's feeling more confidant about himself. Both are also, in a twisted way, massive fans of their nemesis.
  • Given his obsession with Batman, it shouldn't be surprising that he is intrigued by those that parallel Batman. Particularly if the are villainous as it helps convince him his "analysis" of Bruce's motives are correct. The hedonistic, often callous nature of the Seven "felt natural" to him; he has noted Homelander as someone who only keeps up the hero act so he can live off the love of the populacenote , and the direct Batman expy Black Noir as "if my respect of Batman was misplaced"...but only the comic version, who is a psychopathic gaslighter just for the sake of justifying his take on the "Tower of Babel" incident, and his TV version. He finds his TV version more intriguing. The Seven don't care what he thinks, however. Hugo Strange is also interested in Owlman, being Batman's Evil Counterpart from a Mirror Universe, but the Crime Syndicate isn't all that impressed by him.
  • Nemesis, another twisted Batman derivative and Joker parallel, caught Hugo Strange's attention, albeit in a morbid fascination...and a desire to manipulate him. He feels similarly about Michael Myers, who is inexplicably murderous and who's reasons for evil are only known to him. Strange plans to be a lot smarter about it than Dr Sartain, and he hopes to turn Myers into his servant. This is of course a bad idea, and he is at least aware enough of that he has it on the backburner of his plans. Nemesis laughs at Strange's Batman obsession and desire to know what drives him, musing "there's no point analyzing you second-rate psychiatrist; I'm rich and bored, and that's all the motivation I need!" Strange dryly mused "so you also are driven by a power fantasy?"
  • While Professor Strange is fascinated by Batman, which is reflected in his interactions with Batman expies, he is mostly neutral on both the Joker and those inspired by him. He did take notice on one, Kefka, though only from a distance. Why? He was someone driven insane by Magitek experiments, which reminds Hugo of how he has inflicted Mind Rape and/or mutation on his victims for his own purposes. Safe to say, there's a reason he doesn't try to be too experimental. Asuka, who has a bundle of psychological issues along with being a victim of Mind Rape, despises Hugo Strange for what he's done and the fact he does it all despite being in a job meant to help people.
  • Hugo Strange is curious as to what drives someone to use their power fantasy for good like Batman, or evil like Hal Stewart and Jasper Batt Jr...which only further proves he ascribes his own motives to the Bat. Strange considers the both of them to be particularly obnoxious, however he still wants to reach out to them not just out of help against shared enemies, but internally he feels validated over his belief on why Bruce is Batman. Jasper is an example of a young Bruce Wayne that went down the wrong path, and Hal Stewart is what happens when you give superhero powers to the wrong person. Hugo Strange naturally intends to exploit their ego and resources for his own purposes.
  • Before you ask, he is aware of a Doctor Strange in the House of Magic And Sorcery. They are from different fields with Strange being a surgeon, and also different moralities. Hugo knows he stands no chance against him so he intentionally avoids the wizard, who holds him in contempt for his wicked actions. One of the reasons why he's known as Professor Strange is to not be mistaken for the sorcerer. He was also made aware of the Batman That Laughs, a version of Batman driven to become a bigger, nastier force than the Joker. He'll admit that he's afraid of the menace, and even he was shocked a version of Bruce could become so deranged. And if any incarnation of Batman lives up to the power fantasy motive Hugo ascribes to him, it's definitely the Darkest Knight.

[up][up]I was hoping someone else in this forum might have an idea or two what tropes Kirby's animal friends could get in place of what they have now, because I'm drawing a blank.

Freudian Excuse: Not one person is entirely good or evil; something will have to have happened in the past to make them what they are today.

[up]If you can't think of a more fitting trope that isn't taken, you can always propose removing them, or a replacement for Assist Character.

Also, if you're wondering why I haven't posted my funny talking train profile in a while... it's because I got bored. Anyone want to adopt them? If not, I can put them on hold until I regain interest; it's fine.

The Shining Forcemembers , Holy Army of Titular Forces

  • Reasoning: I believe they're actually called the Shining Force in-game a few times, rather than just being in the title. Not just in the original Sega Genesis version, but in the Game Boy Advance remake too.

  • It's a well-known fact that the Shin Megami Tensei games have multiple endings based on the Player Character's alignment: Law, Chaos, or Neutral. But out of all of the Great Will's Messiahs, who should represent that aspect? The First Hero wouldn't do since one of his paths becomes canon. The Second One, Aleph, seem to have all his endings lead to the same conclusion, and his outcomes aren't widely varied. The Third, the Demi-Fiend, is fated to return under the trope Faustian Rebellion or Kingmaker Scenario. The Fourth, Flynn, is already in the Pantheon representing Samurai Ponytail. And there are other fates in store for Nanashi and the Nahobino, who don't fit the trope as neatly anyway. That was when an answer was found.
  • The protagonist of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, to be addressed by his Drama CD name Tadano Hitonari, was a Japanese (or American) soldier of Earth during a present-day time period when the Schwarzwelt appeared in Antarctica. The United Nations assembled a quartet of teams comprised of the brightest minds, most talented soldiers (Hitonari among them), and the most advanced technology they had available. Their mission: enter and explore the interior of the Schwarzwelt, and find a way to stop it before the entire world is consumed. Of course, things aren't as simple as that. Their foes proved far more dangerous than it seemed, the Schwarzwelt's reason for existing proved more complicated than it seemed, and the demons proved invisible to the naked eye before a Mysterious Benefactor granted them the Demon Summoning Program for a fighting chance. Humanity would be tested as they explored the Schwarzwelt, and circumstances led to Hitonari being in the lead and ultimately deciding the fate of his kind.
  • Due to the nature of his trope, all of his versions were required to ascend. That not only meant the Neutral, Law, and Chaos versions, but their New versions too, leading to a total of six. Upon hearing who was planned for ascension, YHVH was quick to bring forth the versions fitting His own path while Cosmos (with anonymous aid from Lucifer) helped ascend the rest. In terms of residences, to minimize clashes with one another, their temples take the form of five Red Sprites, the hover-capable landships that the Schwarzwelt Investigational Team used to explore the demon realms, but modified and miniaturized to enable reasonable solo travel with it. Why five when there are six Hitonaris? The two Neutral Hitonaris share a "temple" because they share the same ideals; there's no point in separating them. While the other New Hitonaris are also good people, they have their separate agendas that can take them to different places in the Pantheon.
  • However, due to clerical issues, there was a purge that removed most of the Shin Megami Tensei representatives. And most of the Strange Journey reps were among them. But when the move to bring Hitonari back came, the Grand United Alliances of Law and Chaos separately wanted Zelenin and Jimenez back. Upon realizing what exactly the trope meant, the GUAG in response decided to have the non-Hitonari Neutral representative of the alignment, Commander Gore, be included in this new group ascension as well. The Court approved of this, and just like with Hitonari, on top of the Zelenin and Jimenez that first came to the Pantheon, one other version of each arrived as well, representing two of the New Endings. As for Gore however, only one of him made it to the Pantheon, as there is little differing opinion he would have between the two Neutral Endings. And so the Zelenins, Jimenez-es, and Gore were transfered to each different Red Sprite, joining each Hitonari that they've swayed (or who had swayed them in the case of the New Path Hitonaris).
  • In case a refresher is needed:
    • A scientist sent to investigate the Schwarzwelt and keep it from wiping out humanity, Zelenin was captured and tortured by demons, giving her an intense hatred of them. During her journey through the parallel world, Zelenin's opinion of humanity was eroded away by the sight of their sins, and she gained a new appreciation for the order and nobility of the angels. It came to a head when she was offered divine power by the angel Mastema: becoming an angel, the resulting new entity quickly lost herself to the power of the heavens and fell in with the angels. Zelenin continues to work with YHVH to power herself up enough to spread her song through the pantheon, wipe it clean of free will and bring a new age of Law. But just like Hitonari, there are two versions of her; one that stays her current path, and one whose mind is changed after Alex came from the former's future and pleaded for her to bring salvation to humanity.
    • A soldier sent to investigate the Schwarzwelt and keep it from wiping out humanity, Jimenez ran across an abused demon named Bugaboo, who he adopted. During his journey through the parallel world, Jimenez's opinion of humanity was eroded away by the sight of their sins, and he gained a new appreciation for the wildness and freedom of the demons. It came to a head when he and Bugaboo were forced by the cruel Captain Jack into a twisted experiment: to save both his and Bugaboo's life, Jimenez had a comrade fuse the two of them together, and the resulting new entity quickly lost himself to his new power and fell in with the demons. Jimenez continues to work with Mem Aleph to awaken the Schwarzwelt, wipe the Pantheon clean of civilization and bring a new age of Chaos. But just like Hitonari, there are two versions of him; one that stays him current path, and one where he realizes the hypocrisy of his goal after Alex points out what he did for Bugaboo.
    • As for Gore, he was the Commander in charge of the Schwarzwelt Investigational Team. When he was killed in action, his last command was to transfer his duties to Hitonari. He would later come back to life as a "Ubergestalt" thanks to the energies of the Schwarzwelt and Mother Maia to serve as a herald for her, Mem Aleph, and the other Mothers. His experiences however have only reinforced his faith in humanity, essentially making him the representative for the Neutral Path. There, close to the final stretch of this strange journey, he eventually judges Hitonari where he stands; humanity, angels, or demons. If Hitonari chooses any of the latter two, or is already deeply aligned into either of those, Gore will regard him as a danger to humanity and fight him to the death. Following his end, Arthur self-terminates, the Red Sprite is left in a state of disrepair, and Jimemez or Zelenin (depending on Hitonari's alignment) storm the Red Sprite and work their brainwashing mojo. If Hitonari proves pro-humanity, Gore tasks him with the final mission of destroying Mem Aleph, and gives him the "brilliance" to see Mem Aleph in her true form, and provides information to Arthur on how to destroy the Schwarzwelt before fading away from existence. Unlike everyone else before him, only one iteration of Gore exists.

  • Applies to all or some of them:
    • Wanna know what exactly their paths took them? Well…
      • Law Hitonari followed Zelenin and helped turn his Earth into a world of total peace where it devotes itself solely to praising the greatness of God (YHVH).
      • Chaos Hitonari followed Jimenez and helped turn his Earth into a primordial world of gods and demons, where only the strongest survive and humanity is expected to suffer for their role in disrupting the natural order.
      • Neutral Hitonari sided with Gore, is blessed with his "brilliance" before fading away, and successfully performs the original mission of the Investigational Team and destroys the Schwarzwelt, but it's implied that it will return so long as humanity doesn't get its act together.
      • New Law Hitonari turned Zelenin around thanks to Alex's pleas to aid humanity, and helepd turn his Earth into a peaceful world without violence that still has its free will, but runs the risk of leaving humanity vulnerable without the will to fight should a threat arise.
      • New Chaos Hitonari turned Jimenez around thanks to Alex pointing out the hypocrisy in his worldview given what he did for Bugaboo, and helped turn his Earth into one where nature flourishes and humanity can live in harmony with gods, demons and the Earth. Instead of a world ruled by strength, it becomes a world filled with infinite possibilities for humanity, where each person is free to act as they choose.
      • New Neutral Hitonari, also with Gore's blessing of "brilliance", destroys the Schwarzwelt like his "old" counterpart, but thanks to Alex's warning of the future also uses the Cosmic Fruit to become Earth's immortal protector against the Schwarzwelt as it appears again and again until humanity can learn its lesson and break the Eternal Recurrence themselves.
    • Despite whatever blessings they've received (if they still retain them), all versions of Hitonari still fight as they did before; with swords, guns, and summoned demons. Being of differing alignments, there is naturally opposition among themselves, though mainly from the Law and Chaos Hitonaris, even against their New counterparts. Even New Chaos and New Law have their disagreements. It's a good thing their temples are separate. In case you're wondering how Hitonari can either be Japanese or American? Well, he's half of both ethnicities. By contrast, Gore, Zelenin, and Jimenez have since discarded their DEMONICAs and embraced their new powers. Out of them, only Gore didn't cast away his faith in humanity (and the other Zelenin and Jimenez regained it thanks to Alex and Hitonari).
      • It was a surprise to discover that the DEMONICA was in the Pantheon's Treasury. Now that there are six more suits, a change of policy has been in consideration in regards to requisitioning and reverse-engineering it. Thus this gave the Grand United Alliances of Good, Law, and Chaos a head start in research. The GUAs of Evil and Destruction, as well as the various Uprisings are now dedicated to capturing the Hitonaris in order to requisition their DEMONICAs for themselves. Other independent forces not among the above who have interest in the suits are trying the same. While they're not exactly on their old mission anymore, the Hitonaris' expedition in the Schwarzwelt has conditioned them to pick up everything in sight that doesn't have a clear owner (and perhaps beat up the owner if there is and if they think it can benefit them more). The good Hitonaris do their best to use their manners, though.
    • Besides those who desire total annihilation of all life, given their interactions with Jack's Squad, there's one thing all Hitonaris share their despisal for; all Private Military Contractors and Mad Scientists, especially if they lack any sort of morals. And in the case of Law, Chaos, and (to a lesser extent) New Law Hitonaris, the alignment of these mercenaries or doctors doesn't matter to them; they all must die horribly. As for the others, it just means they're really slow to trust the less malevolent ones like Raiden and Agatha Heterodyne. Since there are multiple Hitonaris, all of them would naturally be aware of Funny Valentine because of his Stand's ability to easily obliterate them if they are not careful. The only one who doesn't quite have to worry about that tidbit is Law Hitonari due to the president's affiliations with the GUAL.
    • No matter their standing, no matter what morals they support, Zamasu has deemed every single one of them enemies by the sole virtue of having been born as mortal humans (despite being part mortal himself). It doesn't matter if they have shed it or not, or have turned their backs on them as "Old" Law and "Old" Chaos Hitonari, Zelenin, and Jimenez have done. Law Zelenin in particular finds this disappointing since the two do share a desire for a World of Silence and their hatred for humanity, and the fact that Zamasu also wants to wipe out all gods except for himself (which include YHVH and His Angels under that umbrella).

  • Exclusive to the Neutral paths:
    • New Neutral Hitonari told the "Old" Neutral Hitonari about the latter's future and its eventual doom via another Schwarzwelt. Neutral Hitonari almost lost his faith since humanity learned nothing and repeated their mistakes to end this way, and Commander Gore just barely avoided suffering the same fate. However, Makoto Naegi was able to restore his faith in humanity. New Neutral Hitonari was unable to help in this case as he inadvertently serves as an example of the fruitlessness of his struggle since his world's humanity is relying on another higher being for their safety and has been doing so for 150 years before his ascension to the Pantheon.
    • Due to his never-ending crusade against the Schwarzwelt, being a soldier heading off into another dimension, being completely and totally human and facing off against monsters that are more or less the stuff of nightmares, it was natural that Doomguy would be a steadfast ally of New Neutral Hitonari (and the older one, too) and Commander Gore. They even go hunting demons together on occasion, though Hitonari has to avoid summoning his own lest Doomguy commit Friendly Fire on it, and most of the summoned that wouldn't draw his attention are usually unable to stomach the carnage.
    • With their new situation in the Pantheon, as well as everything it has to offer, the Arthur that came with New Neutral Hitonari decided it would be best to share resources with the GUAG after deducing Cosmos' intentions. There was a little bit of hesitation on this since they heard of the Lockdown Kazuya Minegishi and his friends experienced, the Demon Summoning everybody got, and the chaos that ensued. However, given the technological state of the Pantheon and all of its residents, this worry was mostly unfounded.
    • On occasion, New Neutral Hitonari goes to the moon to relax, just as he's done for the past 150 years after becoming immortal. On occasion, he gets fellow visitors who sit with him, and he wouldn't mind their presence (even if it was someone like Nightmare Moon) as long as he isn't messed with.

  • Exclusive to the Law paths:
    • Law Zelenin (and Law Hitonari) get along swimmingly with Malthael: both realize The Evils of Free Will, and the abilities of the two work together very well: death is ultimately an escape from Zelenin's brainwashing, and Malthael has that covered by bringing the deceased back as mindless thralls so that they can continue their worship. With the two of them working in concert, there is no escape from the light of The Lord. Frollo once tried to hit on Zelenin, enraptured as he was by the sight of her angelic beauty, and she nailed him with a Megido Storm for his trouble. He then tried again with Law Zelenin, and met the exact same fate of death... from New Law Hitonari.
    • Law Zelenin's song has the power to erase all emotion from those hit by it, leaving them empty shells mindlessly babbling praises to The Lord. It's roundly considered by others to be a Fate Worse than Death: her ultimate plan is to subject all of creation to it, erasing free will from the fabric of reality and leaving only deference to God. As for New Law Zelenin, she would rather just eliminates the emotion of human spite, removing the impulse for humans to be cruel to each other for no reason, leaving free will intact. Nautrally, both of them and their corresponding ally Hitonaris are at odds with one another in regards to how far one needs to go to quell chaos. New Law Zelenin has tried telling her "past" counterpart that their song won't bring about the Wold Of Silence desired by YHVH, that half of humanity is naturally resistant to its effects, and their utopia would result in genocide. But as with all knight templars, neither Zelenin is willin to budge in their worldviews
    • Law Zelenin looks down on benevolent creator deities like Aslan and The Love That Moves The Stars: on top of being 'false gods' as she puts it, they put far too much stock in 'humanity's inherent virtue', whatever the heck that is: humans have no virtue to speak of as far as Zelenin is concerned. Once she finds the proper pitch and timbre for her song to enthrall even them, she'll prove that only the absolute control of YHVH can bring peace to the world. Should that fail, she will do her duty as a soldier of God and (attempt to) destroy them. Naturally, New Law Zelenin is willing to defend these two gods, and while the Love That Moves The Stars approves of her newfound method of her song, Aslan is disappointed in her removing humanity's will to grow and rise up.
    • New Law Hitonari is admired by several deities who abhor violence and are idealistic enough to think that his world would be absolutely perfect. Among these is Peaceful!Markus, as he too prefers non-violence and advocates peaceful existence for his fellow androids.

  • Exclusive to the Chaos paths:
    • As those who embrace the use of demons and heavily oppose the forces of Law, both Chaos Hitonaris have looked to adding more allies to their cause from the Hall of Demons, and other demons. (Old) Chaos Hitonari sought those who valued strength above all else, while New Chaos Hitonari prefered those who valued the right of freedom. The latter was hard-pressed to find allies than the former, but allies he did manage to find, mainly in the form of Sparda (despite his worldview, and one of his sons Vergil being an utter Might Makes Right advocate, thouh he did have sympathetic reasons for that), and the Aensland sisters.
    • Not liking to take orders more than they have to, both iterations of Jimenez and their corresponding supporting Hitonaris are members of Lucifer's Chaos Brigade, with the New Chaos iterations being more of Token Good Teammates. Chaos Jimenez is nursing ambitions to ascend to Lord of Chaos status, but that's still a little beyond his reach. He hasn't given up trying to make himself strong enough to go for it, though.
    • Chaos Jimenez's alliance with Wesker has turned heads, particularly as he was the subject of the sort of mad science Wesker is known for. Honestly, Jimenez couldn't care less, so long as Wesker doesn't screw with any demons. Heck, trying to uplift humanity to survive in a wild, chaotic world is a noble cause in Jimenez's eyes. To this end, he's given Wesker a sample of the Delphinus Parasite. New Chaos Jimenez on the other hand isn't exactly opposed to the idea... as long as humanity is allowed to choose whether or not they accept this gift. But he suspects Wesker is more of the type to force his choice, so he's not friends with the mutated Mad Scientist.
    • Despite his inhumanity, there's a flicker of Jimenez's old self in him: he's perfectly capable of showing kindness and camaraderie to those he deems worthy. An example of this is Luka: he admires the kid for overthrowing Ilias for the sake of monsters. While (Old) Chaos Jimenez has surrendered himself to his demonic instincts despite this respect, New Chaos Jimenez also sees Luka as an ally for the same reasons as his counterpart. And they don't actually hate each other as much as they thought they would unlike the Zelenins, since they and the Chaos Hitonaris both respect each other's strength and their displeasure for angels.
    • New Chaos Jimenez eventually convinced his counterpart by pointing out the hypocrisy in his "survival of the fittest" creed when he took in Bugaboo, and that he couldn't have survived without Bugaboo sacrificing himself to save him. Unlike with Zelenin, (Old) Chaos Jimenez was successfully convinced and has started to regard his New counterpart's path of freedom over the path of strength as something to his liking. (Old) Chaos Hitonari was similarly convinced by New Chaos Hitonari through the old fashioned way.

DEMOuntable Next Integrated Capability Armor (DEMONICA)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demonica_standard.png
The standard gold model worn by the Schwarzwelt Investigational Team
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_demonica.png
The black variant worn by Jack's Squad and the Black Samurai
  • Class Level: 5
  • Appearance: A high-tech combat suit that comes in either gold and green, or black and red
  • Museum Check: Denied, later Granted upon Tadano Hitonari's ascension
  • Alignment: True Neutral, as it depends on its wearer
  • Portfolio: Powered Armor, Magic-Technology Compatibility, Field Scanners, Adaptive Armor, Magikarp Power, Modular Adaptability
  • Notable users: Flynn (has gotten his hands on both versions), Tadano Hitonari (all six incarnations)
  • Former Users: Commander Gore, Zelenin, Jimenez
  • Interested Parties: X-COM, most deities from the house of War, General Shepherd, Senator Armstrong, the God-Emperor of Mankind, The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, the Grineer, the Corpus, the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, Black Ops, SCP Foundation, Global Occult Coalition, Lobotomy Corporation
  • An advanced combat suit developed and sponsored by the United Nations, originally intended for all-environment use, which exceeded all expectations when it was shown to be an excellent choice for survival in the chaotic terrain of the Expanse (the Schwarzwelt). Its superior modular programming allows for an unprecedented degree of customization. Its worth was further confirmed when it was later proven capable of communicating with, allowing the user to recruit, and/or taking down demons thanks to the installation of a variant of Akemi Nakajima's Demon Summoning Program. Aside from this, it has scanners capable of detecting Forma, magic and alien presences, incoming hostile encounters, and studying field conditions. Its advanced circuitry augments the capabilities of the wearer, adjusting itself to their combat preferences to maximize effectiveness. All of this makes it a premium choice for baseline and superpowered personnel alike. However, its main weakness is that it requires considerable amounts of use in combat to reach peak efficiency.
  • Externally resembles a Cyberman, who have no comment so far on these suits. There are two known variants: one in mostly black with red details, and another in gold with a green undersuit. While the black suit is more combat-oriented, the gold variant is significantly more powerful. A couple of DEMONICA suits were found, disassembled, in a certain Tokyo by Mikado Samurai Flynn. While still excellent military gear, it appears a botched reverse-engineering job significantly lowered its abilities, removing most of its Adaptive Ability in favor of more conventional armor. Flynn currently seeks to repair the damaged set he owns, and if possible, augment it by using his faithful AI companion Burroughs as the navigational AI for the armor.
  • Several parties in the Pantheon became interested in acquiring DEMONICA technology. Most of the groups in question are military-affiliated deities or groups such as X-COM, most deities from the house of War, General Shepherd, and Senator Armstrong in particular. They intend, for the most part, to mass produce and use them against any and all potential enemies, all of them having been impressed by the suit's aforementioned combat capabilities. Not to mention The Grineer and the Corpus, alongside profiting off of it with the latter. Likewise, the God-Emperor of Mankind wants to make the gold variant standard issue armor for the Imperial Guard, seeing it as the ultimate weapon against Warp incursions (an armor that allows baseline humans to go toe to toe with Physical Gods and enables them to gain control over demons seems like a dream come true) though he wants to see if he can't tweak it so it comes with a gold undersuit too. And maybe add a few skulls for good measure.
    • Interestingly, there one demon who managed to acquire a personalized variant of the gold and green version. Said demon, one Jack Frost, has been training under Sergeant Hartmann. This particular one is different in that he actually passed and survived the Drill Sergeant's Training from Hell. When he finally earned the right to wear the DEMONICA, he became known from then on as Demonee-Ho, and quickly gained a reputation for his 100% success rate during operations in the field.
    • One can also count the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit and the Black Ops among the interested parties. While the former already have the pretty impressive PCV in their arsenal, the DEMONICA's even more advanced capabilities might just give them the edge they need to fight more powerful aliens and monsters that litter the Pantheon. Both the SCP Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition would also be heavily invested in researching the DEMONICA and how they themselves can use it. And while their Agents already use E.G.O. for combat, Lobotomy Corporation is also intrigued with the Demon Summoning Program, at least.
    • As operators of Powered Armor, comparisons have been drawn to Iron Man's own suits, Gordon Freeman's HEV Suit, Master Chief's MJOLNIR armor, Doctor Doom's own armor (as much as he claims it to be beneath him), Lex Luthor's Warsuit, Steel's suit, the Doom Slayer's Preator Suit (though given his general stance against demons…), and so on.
  • With Tadano Hitonari's ascension to the Pantheon (and them being surprised to discover that the DEMONICA was in the Pantheon's Treasury), a change of policy was in consideration in regards to requisitioning and reverse-engineering it.
  • Because this suit improves by killing enemies, pacifist combatants will have a hard time making it stronger, though they can still use and recruit demons with it. One can still get it stronger by having their summoned demons kill on their behalf, though. The Phantom Thieves of Hearts (including Akechi) have also been seen with DEMONICA suits on occasion, though these are just outfits and nothing more. Some interest has been drawn to obtain real suits for themselves, though there's the whole "kill foes to give it power" thing, but Metaverse Shadows might qualify for that.

@Assist Character I am currently busy but a counter-suggestion for the trope is a rework I am planning in a few months as I clear out my sandbox. Solaire of Astora from Dark Souls.

His current trope before I removed him: Coop Multiplayer, has been suggested by Doodslayer with Atlas and P-Body way back in the thread and has been approved, on top of him being a poor profile. In addition to being a poor fit for the latter trope, him fitting Assist Character is a main aspect of his character as he is the NPC that represents the Warriors of Sunlight convenant, a covenant that depends on cooperating with other players online. Solaire is special because he is an NPC meant to introduce the player to the covenant while also having the ability to be summoned on 4 battles (5 if you count saving him from a Sunlight Maggot later in game).

I swear Loid, you can't draw worth shit!

  • In General:
    • The demise of Verse at the conclusion of Antonov's King of Fighters Tournament had an unforseen consequence. Verse's death had released the souls it had imprisoned, not to mention those who had been killed during the past King of Fighters Tournaments have returned to life. Among them are Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie and Chris. Having their lives for Orochi's revival (short-lived as it was, thanks to the Sacred Treasures Team), they found themselves alive once again. The trio were greeted by their fellow Heavenly King, Leopold Goenitz, having ascended to the Pantheon before them. Thanks to Goenitz, Team Orochi's ascension was cleared and thus, the Heavenly Kings of Orochi were reunited.
    • On the outside, they appear to be your run-of-the-mill rock band. That, however, is a 8. Yashiro Nankase, Shermie and Chris are among the eight devotees of Yamata no Orochi, commonly known as the Hakkeshu (Eight Excellent Masses), with the goal of restoring balance to the Earth. Unlike a certain Titan, however, restoring nature's balance means the extermination of mankind. Aside from being musicians, Team Orochi are skilled fighters. But what makes them extremely dangerous is when their Orochi powers awaken, granting them the power of the elements, thus becoming the antithesis of Team Japan. Their personalities also undergo a major change, from being affably evil to outright sadistic. is known as Kawaita Daichi no Yashiro, or Yashiro, The Parched Earth. While not having Earth-based powers per se, Orochi Yashiro's strength and durability increases drastically. Shermie is known as Are Kuruou Inabikari no Sherumī, or Shermie the Roaring Lightning. As the name states, Orochi Shermie unleashes the full fury of her electrokinesis. Finally, Chris is known as Honoo no Sadame no Kurisu, or Chris, the Flames of Destiny. The most sadistic of the trio, Orochi Chris uses his pyrokineses to burn his opponents alive.
    • By chance, Team Orochi's ascension coincided with a music festival, in which Iori Yagami was participating with his band. Yes, when Iori is not fighting in tournaments, butting heads with Kyo or going into the Blood Riot, he is a musician, with jazz being his specialty. Iori was slightly perturbed when CYS showed up and rocked the crowd. It wasn't enough for them to win, but a message was sent. Team Orochi was now in the Pantheon. For Iori, it meant an even bigger headache from someone other than Kyo was now coming. In the meantime, when not scheming with Goenitz to being about Orochi's resurrection, they are spending their time within the Pantheon's music scene. While Yashiro is the vocalist of the trio, Shermie can also carry a tune. Shermie's vocal talents became known during the aforementioned music festival, in which both her and Yashiro wowed the crowd with their cover of Red Like Roses, Pt.2, transforming the song about a daughter grieving over the loss of her mother to a girl grieving over the loss of her lover. Both Freddie Mercury and David Bowie were in attendance and despite CYS losing the competition, know talent when they see it. Hence, Shermie spending time with Freddie building her skills, both as a vocalist and keyboardist. Meanwhile, Yashiro spends 8 hours a day with Ziggy Stardust. One thing for certain, is that the next time Iori's band and CYS meet up, it will be Team Orochi that upstages Iori's band.
    • Colonel Roy Mustang and Major Alex L. Armstrong are monitoring Team Orochi, as they are giving off vibes similar to that of Father's Homunculi, with the exception that they are actually human and not artificially created. As it turns out, both the Flame Alchemist and the Strongarm Alchemist are also persons of interest to Team Orochi's Awakened side, primarily Chris and Yashiro's Awakened personal. Roy and Alex see that Orochi Chris' personality is similar to that of Selim Bradley/Pride the Arrogant: sadistic and outright cruel. The only difference is that while Selim/Pride wants to only enslave mankind, Orochi Chris wants to outright exterminate it. Sasuke Uchiha has also been monitoring Team Orochi, and has brought back some bad news to Naruto, Hinata and Sakura: Orochi Shermie not only has Sasuke in her crosshairs, but also their children, Boruto and Sarada, due to their expertise in Lightning jutsu. It's enough to make even the demure Hinata to kill Shermie just for that. Sakura would just pound Shemie's head in solely on principle.
  • Chris/Orochi Chris Only:
    • Orochi Chris' personality is that of a sadist, showing nothing but true malice and hatred for humanity. But he also has a special hatred for fire-based deities. To anyone who knows Chris, they assumed that Kyo Kusanagi would take the top spot. But it's not. Surprisingly, it's Liu Kang that takes the number one spot, with Hanzo Hasashi as the runner-up. O. Chris and his cohorts are interested in the chain of events that led to Liu's ascension as the Fire God and Keeper of Time. O. Chris is very interested in Kronika's Hourglass and Crown, powerful relics that control time itself. Such relics would prove useful in bringing about Orochi's return and the extermination of mankind, thus bringing balance back to the world. For the newly-minted Fire God, it's yet another obstacle in his New Era, one that he takes quite seriously, even if he is a teenager, a sentiment that is shared with Scorpion. One thing for certain, is that the Destiny of Flames will be in for the fight of his life if he - and his teammates - make a move against the Fire God and his allies. After all, the ascended kombatants were no pushover like the American Sports Team.
    • As Chris was the one-time host to Orochi, he sets off red flags to some of the deities who specializes in the mystic arts. Raven and Magik can still sense the mystic residue surrounding Chris, the remnants of Orochi's posession. Chris finds himself on the radar of both Cassandra Cain and Damian Wayne. Both Orphan and Robin V are not deceived by the little Swedish kid who has a taste for Bhutanese food. Given their harsh upbringing in and around the League of Assassins, to Damian and Cassandra, Chris sticks out like a sore thumb. The fact that Chris threatened to barbecue not just the members of the Batfamily, but also the Teen Titans didn't exactly endear him to both Cassandra and Damian. Despite the numerous shenanigans the two troubled children find themselves in, no one threatens their family and friends. "Well, maybe Drake," Damian amended, "but no one can mess with my family but me."
Chris: "Hmm, maybe I messed around too much. Guess I don't have the right to criticize Yashiro."
Orochi Chris: "Your deeds are irrelevant. Humanity is a crime in itself."
  • Shermie/Orochi Shermie Only:
    • Has developed a (somewhat) friendly rivalry with the Brazilian grappler, Laura Matsuda. Both are outgoing and friendly, with Laura being more bohemian in her lifestyle.Of course, Shermie does feel slightly sad, as Laura will be among those exterminated along with the rest of mankind. "Orochi's will will not be denied," Shermie was on record saying. "However, out of respect for Laura, I will give her a quick and painless death." The same can be said for Helena Douglas. Not only is the DOATEC boss was a fellow Frenchwoman, but is a fan of her opera. Shermie said that Helena's demise would hurt even more, but Orochi's will shall be done. Despite the numerous setbacks, Orochi's return is inevitable.
Shermie: "You can still stand? Oh, no, it's fine. I'm bored already, so you can stay on the ground."
Orochi Shermie: "This is judgement, for you refuse to face your human sins."
  • Yashiro/Orochi Yashiro Only:
    • While he is passionate about nature to the point that he wants to exterminate mankind in order to restore the balance, Yashiro could do without the preaching from such nature-based deities such as Avatars Aang and Korra. But it's the deified Matoka shaman, Nightwolf, that really gets under his skin. Raiden's right-hand man rubs him the wrong way. "If I want to be lectured, then I'd go and see Goenitz," Yashiro said. While Yashiro can sympathize with Cetrion, he just doesn't like the endgame of Kronika's plan, which is the destruction of the planet at the hands of both Cetrion and her brother, the fallen Elder God, Shinnok. He also disagree with leaving Survivors, as Cetrion believes that once she "baptize the realms with fire," mankind will "emerge from the darkness, humbled... eager to embrace the light." Suffice to say, that Cetrion and Yashiro (and his teammates) won't be allies.
    • He also has drawn the attention of the Illuminati, due to his resemblance to its president, Urien. As Iori Yagami had famously put it, Yashiro "does not fight half-naked, or fire projectiles. The only thing thise two have in common is their strength.." Despite Urien using electric-based powers, it's his raw strength that has earned Yashiro's attention. Yashiro dismisses the brother of Gill, saying that Urien "has delusions of grandeur, " and that "the interloper follows a false messiah." While Urien has no love for his brother, he is interested as to who is stronger between himself and Yashiro. Urien went on record, stating that his "perfect 'Iron Body' is invincible," and that "anyone who resists it will meet their end."
Yashiro: "What, haven't heard of Nanakase-True-Warrior style karate? It's unbeatable! ...Just kidding, I made it up."
Orochi Yashiro: "You're finished. Atone for your sins in hell!"

  • Pitied by: Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Opposes: The Hall of Darkness and Shadow, the rest of Xehanort's incarnations, particularly Terra-Xehanort and Xemnas, Sheev Palpatine, the Heartless
  • Conflicting Opinion On: Kylo Ren, Kuvira, Riku, Judai Yuki, The Ones, The Venom Symbiote
  • A Keyblade Master is one of the highest titles one can be bestowed with in the world of Kingdom Hearts. It establishes that the one bearing the title has passed the Mark of Mastery exam and achieved true mastery over the Keyblade. Eraqus is one such master, and unlike his colleague, Xehanort, who uses his skills for evil, Eraqus passes his knowledge onto his pupils, who he has always loved like his own children.
  • His swordplay is matched only by his hatred for the Darkness, which he sees as the root of all evil. It was this, combined with Xehanort's manipulations, that led him into conflict with his oldest pupil, Terra. While extreme in his views, many see him as having had a point, since in the Kingdom Hearts universe, darkness is usually evil, while light is usually good, with Eraqus himself ironically coming closest to being an exception for the latter. Terra used the darkness in their final duel and Xehanort himself primarily uses the darkness, with good Darkness users like Riku being the exception rather than the norm.
  • Eraqus' ascension to the Pantheon came about at some point after the third game in his series, after he managed to help Xehanort come to terms with his defeat and redeem himself, the two of them departing for the afterlife. By this time, Xehanort was already in the Pantheon, so his first act was to make sure his old friend wasn't up to anything evil, which he thankfully was not.
  • While he is on amicable terms with the main Xehanort, when he learned of his other incarnations, proceedings were less than friendly. Between Ansem's rambling on about darkness, which struck a bit of a nerve in him, and Young Xehanort's generally smug nature, he found himself more than a little annoyed with those two. But when he learned of Terra-Xehanort and Xemnas, he was furious, first thinking they had done something horrible to Terra to be the way they are. Which...yeah, they did, but he was able to be calmed down upon learning that they currently exist separately from the real Terra, who is safe and sound. Nowadays, he is still wary around them, as their very existence unsettles him.
  • Learning of his surrogate son's safety, he made it a point to check up on Terra, Ven and Aqua, and found them hanging out at the House of Friendship and Camaraderie. Seeing them so happy after all that they had gone through was nearly enough to move the otherwise-dignified Keyblade Master to tears, and as he revealed himself, he once again reiterated his apology to them for everything they had gone through because of him. Though they forgave him easily and happily, they could not deny that his views on darkness, extreme as they were, were not unfounded, as his trope shows - their experiences with Xehanort taught them that rather handily, but he now has faith that they are strong enough to overcome it.
  • As for the other ascended members of his story, he is generally on good terms with the heroes and bad terms with the villains. In particular, he isn't fond of the Heartless. While in his era, he had to deal with the Unversed, he finds the Heartless to be much more potentially dangerous, as they stem from the darkness within people's hearts, and he knows how volatile darkness can be in the wrong hands. But some of them are friendly, which makes him feel a little uneasy, but he has decided to trust them for now. Among the evil Kingdom Hearts deities, however, none are quite so frightening to him as Vanitas. In addition to being pure darkness and loving every second of it, Vanitas may have been one of the original thirteen Darknesses of old. The very idea of such an ancient evil still being around makes Eraqus worried for the future of the Pantheon itself.
  • Even knowing that Terra and Aqua managed to overcome the darkness, Eraqus is still a little wary around darkness-users, and as such steers clear of the Hall of Darkness and Shadow. Dark Is Evil is a very real and very common trope, something Eraqus is aware of. Even if he now recognises through Terra that Dark Is Not Evil can exist, that most of the the Hall's residents are evil is not helping. Most of all, he opposes Chernabog, the resident God of Malevolent Darkness, who he never met in life, but knows exists in his world. Knowing he can rely on fellow Keyblade warriors like Sora to stop him should he rise puts his mind at ease.
  • Naturally, he is much more comfortable and at home in the Hall of Light and Brightness, where he gets along with many of the deities there. Among them, he is impressed with the endeavours of Danielle Baptiste and Satsuki Kiryuin, taking pity on the former for her responsibilities as the Angelus and the latter for her suffering at the hands of her own mother, and wishes to be a figure of respect and support for the two of them. He also looks up to Ezalor as a heroic opposite to Chernabog. However, the Light of Destruction, and all it represents, deeply unnerves him, and he wishes not to associate with it.
    • This has also led to an interesting relationship with Judai Yuki, who wields the Gentle Darkness to counteract the Light of Destruction. Judai's experiences has taught him that darkness can be dangerous, as with it, he became the villainous Supreme King and hurt his friends, but also that it isn't inherently evil. Eraqus believes there is a lot to learn from Judai's story, and gladly takes its lessons to heart.
  • Often, Eraqus will spend time in the Hall of Legacy and Influence, finding a strange kinship with the more heroically-aligned deities there due to seeing Terra, Ven and Aqua as his own legacy. Among them, however, he spends the most time with Obi-Wan Kenobi, who he has found to be quite similar to himself. Kenobi, however, takes pity on Eraqus, knowing how tragically his tale ended, and gives him his condolences. It goes both ways, too, as Eraqus recognises that Terra stayed a good kid at heart the entire time, which is more than can be said for Anakin.
    • While he looks upon Anakin/Vader with pity, watching the revolving door that is Kylo Ren makes him feel more conflicted than anything. As the avatar of repeating history, Eraqus sees him as someone who must be monitored, lest he fall back into the Dark Side, but he has agreed to let things play out for now, as knowing his track record, involving himself in that story may only make things worse.
  • In general, Eraqus has mixed feelings on the Jedi and the Sith Order. While his past self would have instantly jumped onto the "Jedi good, Sith bad" train that many are prone to do, Eraqus now has reflected on himself, recognising it's not just black and white. The saying that "Only a Sith deals in absolutes" in particular has been incredibly thought-provoking to Eraqus, who dealed in absolutes right up until his final living moments. For this reason, he isn't sure what to make of The Ones, who embody each side of the Force, its balance included. The Son is someone to be wary around, and his killing of his sister reminds Eraqus of his own death at Xehanort's hands, but the Daughter and Father seem amicable enough, with the former even asking him not to hate her brother. In the end, he wonders if the Dark Side truly can find balance with the Light Side, and what that says about the Darkness and Light in his own world.
  • While not a villain by any definition, Eraqus still finds himself drawn to the Hall of Anti-Villains, feeling that they understand his struggles, and vice versa, better than their heroic counterparts. In particular, and in no small part due to the similarity in their tropes, Kuvira has become something of a point of curiosity for him. Both of them find kindred spirits in one another, being antagonistic individuals who are deemed to have quite a good point, but are made out as extremists regardless, which, while they are willing to accept the error of their ways now, they were still in vehement belief that they were right at the time. Eraqus isn't sure what to make of Kuvira's more amoral actions, such as almost killing Bataar Jr. or becoming a tyrant, but he knows what it is like to put a goal ahead of one's loved ones, and recognises that she is truly sorry, so he has chosen not to judge her too harshly for it.
  • In spite of all this, Eraqus was not initially sure what was meant by a "strawman", feeling mild confusion as he noted he was made from flesh and blood like any normal man. Asking around led him in the direction of Stephen Colbert, the God of Straw Characters, who, though initially annoyed at the implication that he didn't have a point, was able to explain it to him. Eraqus now occasionally finds himself spending time with the news reporter, finding him peculiar but somewhat interested in his ramblings about this "America" he speaks of.
  • He has nothing but pity for Shinn Asuka, seeing in him a younger, more messed-up version of himself. From his unhealthy belief in absolutes leading to his insanity, to his painful decision of having to choose between being lawful and being good, he recognises that rather than being seen as simply mad, he needed someone to be there for him, and wonders how differently things would have been if he'd had a good mentor to guide his way. Seeing what Asuka has gone through also made Eraqus take a good look at himself, wondering just how badly he screwed up with the Wayfinder Trio, and how he could have ended up if things had been different - for better or for worse.
  • During his time in training to be a Keyblade Master, Eraqus and Xehanort had an encounter with the Magic Mirror. Fascinated by the talking artefact, Eraqus would ask it all manner of questions, some insightful, some less so, only to be interrupted by Xehanort, who reminded him that they were still on a mission. Seeing it again in the Pantheon was quite unexpected, to say the least, and he simply had to ask some more questions, just for old time's sake.
  • Upon learning about the Venom Symbiote and its nature, Eraqus was left feeling a mix of confusion and plain uncertainty. The Klyntar were made to devour gods and destroy "the Light", which would have made Eraqus instantly declare them in need of eradication. What interests him, however, is that once they were freed from their Hive Mind, they instantly betrayed their creator and attempted to protect the Light instead. Being both a form of corruption and highly corruptible themselves, Eraqus figures they most likely mean well, but need to be guided away from those who would use them for evil.

"Darkness is our enemy. Would that we could be rid of it. Push the darkness down. Give it no quarter in your heart."

  • The cross-continuity multiverse of the Super Robot Wars boasts many kinds of interesting people, which is only to be expected considering the myriad of different worlds of Humongous Mecha riders that end up being melded into its everarching conflicts. However, while the elseworld guests are the draw at first glance, those whose origins start from the central binding reality tend to be most crucial, both to its conflicts and to the flavor of the world itself. Take for example, two striking female Real Robot pilots, known well for their excellent piloting skills and intelligence as women; yet they particularly stand out for their full-fledged reveling in the joys of using their curvaceous figures to flirt and tease at will.
    • Excellen Browning pilots the sniping-based Weissritter, which has been mutated into the Rein Weissritter. Known for being the life of the party, she is boundlessly cheerful, majorly flirty, will play the tease with absolutely anyone, and routinely messes up Japanese and Chinese proverbs. She's even been known to walk around a base wearing sexy bunny suits just for the viewing pleasure of surrounding guys. Despite all of thee things, she is completely devoted to her boyfriend, fellow pilot Kyosuke Nanbu, serving as the playful complement to Kyosuke's serious and stoic countenance.
    • Selena Recital pilots the ninja-style Assault Scouter Soleares, and now by its upgraded form AS Alegrias. She is an extremely coyly flirtatious and playful woman with a very… uh… "mobile" pair of assets who tends to speak with Gratuitous Spanish and frequently hop around between factions. She's assisted by her Robot Buddy "Elma", a little communicative support robot in charge of assisting her piloting, serving as her co-pilot.
  • Originally, the two were in the Pantheon in separate places, with Excellen holding this temple solo in the Hall of Romance while Selena served in the Hall of Female Anatomy as Goddess of Bouncing Breasts. They first met when Selena took interest in Excellen's ideas about bunny suits, as this seemed like an easier way to distract people (of either gender) with her… assets. As it goes without saying, both of these ladies rather enjoy playing The Tease, giving various gods nosebleeds, or at least Luminescent Blushes, at the sight of their pneumatic bosoms, and they bonded over this. Upon hearing that Selena's temple was to be decommissioned, Excellen actually got a bit upset, and knowing that Selena likes to toy around similar to how she does albeit for different reasons, she used that to petition the Court of the Gods to bring Selena back in exchange for sharing her temple with her. (Said temple was also moved between Halls due to a classification fix, with some figuring that teasing had more to do with provoking desire than romancing anyone.)
  • It's worth noting that these are not the only women seen within their franchise to come with large breasts and flirtatious tendencies. In fact, Excellen has met and gotten along splendidly with Kaguya Nanbu and Xiaomu, whose appearances and personalities seem to be a direct homage to her. Selena only ever met Kaguya in passing due to sharing the same Hall, and had yet to speak with Xiaomu until after sharing a temple with Excellen, but did offer her comments when Excellen told her about them.
    • When Kaguya first ascended, Excellen thought Kyosuke was cheating on her. Just joking, she just felt like meeting the girl personally. For Kyosuke's worth, he barely even responded to that accusation, returning the flattest of dismissals in response. When they actually met, the first thing Excellen did was to glomp her. She took such a liking to Kaguya that she ended up requesting to Kyosuke that she'd be the 'third daughter'. She's happy when Kyosuke rolls with it. Selena, upon being told the tale, was rather unimpressed that Excellen went with the cheating joke first, considering that Kaguya sharing Kyosuke’s name would much more likely hint at familial relation than a dalliance. This did cause Excellen to reflect on why Kyosuke no-sold that joke but was much warmer to the 'third daughter' remarks.
    • As for Xiaomu, Excellen and her boyfriend were introduced to the fox spirit and her Shinra comrade Reiji Arisu by their friend Sanger Zonvolt, noting the similarities to each other. While things were a bit rocky between the guys when Reiji commented that Kyosuke was too much of a gambler, Excellen and Xiaomu hit it off almost instantly, making plans to have a girls’ night out within thirty minutes of knowing each other. The invitation would be passed forward to Selena, who agreed to attend if she could as long as Excellen gave her a heads up in advance when it was scheduled.
  • Both Excellen and Selena were invited to partake in Frank West's PERFECT EROTICA photoshoot back when they operated separately. Since banding together, the two have received yet another invite as a duo, with the idea being for them to simulate a catfight. While initially played straight, mutual admiration kicked in and led to the ladies doing more tag team, friendship, and embracing poses than combative ones. Rather than complaining about the change in tone, Frank gleefully ran with this, and the three would sit down after the shoot to come up with a tag team name to sell it under. As Excellen recalled the time she tried to get BRIAN BLESSED to christen her as (S)EXCELLEN BROWNING (more on that in her section below), Frank and Selena both got inspired to actually run with it, resulting in the photoshoot being called “PURE S[E)XCEL(LEN]A”, formatted as a clever portmanteau of the girls’ names as well as Excellen’s personal tribute to the former God of Merriment. Their edition was one of the most successful to date, with many fans wanting to see PURE S[E)XCEL(LEN]A actually become a tag team.
  • Someone else they both met back when they had separate temples would be Setsuko Ohara, the Sphere Reactor of the Sorrowful Maiden. With Excellen, it’s thanks to her ties to Masaki Andoh, one of the Masou Kishin Heralds, who she helped out during a civil war on La Gias while she was transported there. Masaki, having made it to the Pantheon, met Setsuko after she ascended and initially caught her ire due to resembling the man who made her life a living hell just to activate her powers. When told about this, Excellen personally went to see the girl and convince her that Andoh and her tormentor were not the same guy; she slowly came around after this, accepting him as a tenuous ally. Selena, meanwhile, after having her own communications with Masaki and the Heralds after they heard she’d become involved with their former archrival, did some research on them and their circumstances and discovered all of this. Thus, when Setsuko came to visit her after learning that of her ties to said former enemy, Selena was the less surprised of the two, explaining to her that her connection to that man was actually a past encounter with him alongside her last Jelba teammate. Looking back on this time rather fondly, she assured Setsuko that Shu Shirakawa would mean no trouble as far as she could tell.
    • While Masaki, Shu, and friends would all later leave the Pantheon, Setsuko's ties to Excellen and Selena remain to this day. Excellen's favorite female to render 'victim' to her teasing wiles used to be Lamia Loveless, the android she befriended during the 2nd OG campaign, but after the deification of Setsuko and learning of her dilemma, Excellen showed some of her subtle wisdom and switched her focus more to Setsuko as her main 'victim' in order to cheer her up. Lamia wholeheartedly agreed with this decision, and the three of them could be seen hanging out together a lot, with Excellen sort of being the "ringleader" of their little crew. Meanwhile, Selena has become something of a mentor for Setsuko, both for keeping interested men at arm's distance and for learning to control the effects of her Sphere so she can use its power without losing her five senses, something the case of Gadlight Meonsam shows is in fact possible. Since joining Excellen in her temple, Selena has been privy to much of Excellen's antics with Setsuko and Lamia. She sometimes joins them of her own accord, at other times observes while minding her own business until Setsuko calls her over for company.
  • There is an ulterior motive behind this friendly partnership, though, and it all resolves around the Shadow-Mirror, a warmongering army from a harsh parallel dimension that encroached upon the main world of SRW in hopes of plunging it into eternal war. Excellen has had plenty of personal experience with Shadow-Mirror enemies, especially considering the case of Lemon Browning, Excellen's Evil Counterpart who built Lamia and the other W-Numbers. This experience caused her as well as Lamia to notice peculiar details about Selena, from her robot being an Assault Scouter type to her talent for technological assimilation, which are eerily similar to those of Shadow-Mirror agents. Excellen is hoping to find out if Selena is in any way connected to the Shadow-Mirror, whether it be just the dimension or the organization itself, or if she just happens to be similar enough to eventually be worth their attention. Any one of these answers means Selena could be tapped for additional information on them in case they have any plans for the Pantheon, one way or another. Miss Excell is also willing to explore Lamia’s theory about Asakim Dowin being Shadow-Mirror as well due to being such a blatant Shadow Archetype of Masaki Andoh, though she isn’t totally convinced of it (and he’s currently not present to provide the lead, in any case).
  • Applies to Excellen:
    • Excellen was involved in a shuttle crash during her youth that killed everyone on board, except for her and one other passenger: Kyosuke Nanbu, who shielded her from the flaming debris. Although, to see both of their conditions in the aftermath you would think the case of who shielded who were the other way around: while Kyosuke had barely a few bruises on him, Excellen was in such bad shape as to be described as ‘’damaged beyond repair'', with the likelihood of her survival and recovery being slim to none. Somehow (more on that below), she not only survived the crash, but went on to take part in the Super Robot Wars on behalf of the Earth Federation, and in fact was recruited before Kyosuke. When he finally came on board and joined the Federation’s forces, she reintroduced herself to him (he had forgot their first meeting), and their budding relationship began.
      • In the Original Generations timeline, Kyosuke and Excellen’s post-shuttle reunion occurred on-scren when they were inducted into the ATX Team alongside Bullet Luckfield and their mentor Sanger Zonvolt. They also got involved in a war between The Federation and the United Colony Corps (at the same time the SRX Team were contending with the UCC's allies the Divine Crusaders). Ironically, Sanger would end up apparently defecting to the Divine Crusaders’ side, causing Kyosuke to take over as the ATX Team’s leader while Excellen became his solid #2, with their potent combination being just as good as Sanger’s leadership. She would later end up being transported into La Gias, hiding as a co-leader of a bandit gang before being fished out by Masaki Andoh and helping him out with a civil war.
      • In the Compact 2/Impact Timeline, Excellen’s reunion with Kyosuke already happened off-screen while he was still a simple test pilot, and both were involved in parts of the Londo Bell alliance. While Kyosuke was tagging along with the Gandor squad and any allies they pick up along the way, Excellen was with Bright Noa and the rest of Londo Bell, fighting her own battles alongside Duke Fleed, Quattro Bajeena, and their allies, as well as other allies they meet up with along the way around the same time.
    • Along the way, she would get entranced by the Einst and pulled away from everyone else for a while before waking up to find herself under attack by several Einst before Londo Bell and/or the ATX Team came to her rescue. One of the Einst, Alfimi, is also a regular intruder in the local battles against the usual enemies. There was also the certain strange giant asteroid that seemed to be their (and other villainous actions they've allied with) "base of operations", and there were debates on what to do in response. Eventually, the heroes pieced together that the Einst have special interest in Excellen, which ultimately leads to certain truths coming to the forefront (more on that below).
    • Excellen is immune to mental illusions, though physical ones like holograms can still fool her. Also, when it comes to traitor revelations, instead of letting one say, wallow in self-pity, think it's just a nightmare, or come around to the truth in their own time, she prefers to lay it all out as bluntly and quickly as possible. Her friendly personality doesn’t mean she can be BS’ed. Already quite a few consummate liars in the Pantheon have tried pulling a fast one on her in order to either seduce her or get her to help them with something, and she has summarily seen through them and shut them down. Some have remarked that there’s something inhuman about her sense of perception. The reasoning for this comes down to the true reason why she survived the shuttle crash. Newsflash: she actually didn't.
      • The shuttle accident fatally wounded her, but then she was taken by an alien species called the Einst, who rebuilt and rejuvenated her body with their technology, turning her into essentially a humanoid member of their species. To be more exact, she’s described as being 80% Einst, 20% human. In fact, the Einst had orchestrated the crash in the first place as part of their Adam and Eve Plot to recreate humanity after destroying it, using the pair as their means of repopulating the Earth with humans, but without emotion to stop them from becoming threats. The only real reason this plot failed was because Kyosuke legitimately survived the crash. Thus, they created Alfimi, an artificial human-Einst clone of Excellen, for the purpose of bringing her to the Einst or, barring that, coercing Kyosuke to unite with Alfimi. However, Kyosuke and Excellen were able to instead convince Alfimi to turn from her creators’ way, with Alfimi helping to destroy them.
    • Has teased virtually every deity in the Pantheon with the chance to see her or the deity of their choice in a bunny suit. Reactions vary. Her favorite victims of teasing include Ichigo Kurosaki, Issei Hyodo — who had a rather uncontrollable reaction once, and Guy Cecil, who gives out the best flustered reaction, she thinks. She even once competed with one of Issei's harem girls, Akeno Himejima, in a contest of who could tease the most gods in one day. The scorekeepers lost count of the result, but Excellen and Akeno became friends ever since and can be seen sometimes training together. Her goal is to make her boyfriend Kyosuke pull that reaction, but she has yet to succeed.
    • Excellen eagerly joined the great BRIAN BLESSED in adding merriment to the Pantheon, and thus BRIAN BLESSED has considered her a rare breed of female Boisterous Bruiser. At one point as a result of that, Excellen insisted that her name be transcribed as (S)EXCELLEN BROWNING ?, but got refused. Despite outwardly pouting at the rejection, she was secretly pleased by the chatter this moment created, with some deities giving her props for the attempt and others cheerfully “petitioning” for the Sexcellen nickname to eventually catch on. While BRIAN BLESSED has since left the Pantheon, this ultimately became the inspiration behind the “S[E)XCEL(LEN]A” moniker for her and Selena’s tag team photoshoot with Frank West, with the shoot itself being dedicated to BRIAN BLESSED.
    • Whenever a set of deities from Mecha-series worlds approach Kyosuke and Excellen and ask for both of their presence, she tends to think they’re finally going to arrange a marriage between her and Kyosuke (which prompts her to act bashful and say “Oh nooo! I’m not ready for thiiis...”). However, normally they’re just enlisting the two to help out during a crisis situation that needs Real Robot pilots, bringing Kyosuke on as a field leader and Excellen as his lieutenant because they recognize that the two are one of the best duo-teams in the Pantheon. Thankfully this is also acceptable for her. Even on the battlefield she’s occasionally prone to bubbly outbursts causing Kyosuke to direct her to focus on the task at hand, but this is usually in good fun to keep him on his toes and she really is paying attention.
    • At one point, much to Excellen's horror, she was unable to say anything except words or sentences she has said before, losing touch with something. As much as she tried to cheer things up via Talking with Signs to her friends (or jumbled messages based on the things she has said and recorded in the past), this is a very big blow to the otherwise perpetually cheerful Excellen. Others who were connected through this strange sense of sadness and loss at the same time but were not as physically affected, such as Iris of Repliforce, Mihoshi Kuramitsu, and even Buffy Summers, came to cheer her up almost every day. 51 days later she regained her normal self, but the occasional pang of wistfulness is still there, and her vocal base seems like it's trying or waiting to change...
    • “What does D stand for? Demon? Destroyer? My cup size?”
  • Applies to Selena:
    • Tragically, Selena is a military ghost from an Earth Federation unit called Team Jelba. The team was close-knit, almost like a family, but as she was ranked as an ensign, she wouldn’t be privy to the bigger details of some of their missions. This includes Mission Doll, a mission whose data was encrypted within Elma, whre her teammates were all destroyed by an enemy unit of masked soldiers. A furious Selena had managed to shoot off the mask of said unit’s leader, whose face she later recognized as that of an Earth Federation commander. She spent months seeking revenge against that woman while the galaxy was once again plunged into warfare.
    • While hopping through various factions that were being pitted against each other, she found targets from the same masked army that killed her team on numerous occasions, including one where the masked woman and the commander both appeared at the same time fighting against one another. In particular, meeting Sleigh Presty and Ibis Douglas of the Project Terrestrial Dream group caused her to start seeing things a bit more clearly, ultimately choosing her friendship with them above her quest for revenge. As it goes, it was while letting go of her vengeful tendencies that she came into the truth about her crew’s killer, meaning both the singular perpetrator and the conquering army as a whole; she became instrumental in the ensuing ultimately victory over the Ze Balmary Empire.
    • The Highly-Visible Ninja aesthetic to Soleares/Alegrias isn't just for show; Selena herself is very skilled at espionage despite her own flashy uniform, often infiltrating enemy ranks and adapting their knowledge and technology for her own purposes. Her skills are advanced to the point she's actually infiltrated a Blue Cosmos terror cell operation for an entire week while disguised as a man. She also carries an energy knife/whip and knows how to use it, both on foot and while piloting Alegrias (and yes, the handheld and Alegrias versions are each adjusted to the appropriate size). The teasing stuff, while she does enjoy doing it, was ironically employed a way for her to keep others from getting too close to her, as behind the flirty facade, she's actually a very professional and duty-focused soldier; that's the side of her you need to see to know that she's loyal to you.
    • Many denizens of the Pantheon look at Yuuki Terumi and Zamasu as the obvious most threatening examples of depraved omnicidal mania and hatred of humanity. Selena believes the attention these two get is misguided because it allows at least one very important enemy of similar stripes to fall under the radar. Case in point: Rau Le Creuset. Due to her very temporary alliance with ZAFT, Selena is quite aware of what Commander Creuset is truly capable of, seeing his courteous approach to ruthless warfare as a mask for his true nihilistic intentions. One such example she cites is when he tried to use Athrun Zala’s retrieval of Lacus Clyne from a willing Kira Yamato as a pretext to launch an ambush on Kira and the Strike Gundam, which was the lynchpin for her and two members of the Alpha Numbers to defect from Creuset’s ZAFT team to rejoin the Earth Federation.
    • Has a friendly competition with Major Armstrong involving bouncing things off their bodies, her breasts vs. his muscles. She does it to encourage him as a soldier who she respects, and because it's fun. She's also friendly with Mai Shiranui and Kasumi, both of whom are well-endowed kunoichi. She and Mai hit it off especially well, as Mai approves of the use of sensual distraction as a martial tactic.
    • Charlie Nash, both impressed with her particular skills and sympathetic to her tragedy due to the details of his own mission and deaths, approached Selena with an opportunity. She initially used her "tease" persona to keep silent on what it is, as well as who else may know about it. Eventually things became a bit more clear when the details of how Father Homunculus was able to orchestrate the ascension of Führer-President King Bradley were disseminated to the public despite the Homunculi thwarting Guile and Chun-Li’s investigation and forcing Charlie to pull them out early, and then Selena accompanied Nash to the office of President Josiah Bartlet while discussing the matter of forming a team to handle similar threats as Shadaloo and the Ze Balmary Empire. They very quickly reunited with Nash’s friend, Rashid of the Turbulent Wind, and later also aligned with Ahsoka Tano and Brock Samson.
    • It’s notable that Selena makes no play to tease either Nash or Rashid, instead respecting Charlie as a captain and regularly bickering with the Turbulent Wind. This is in fact treated as a sign that she holds the two in hgih regard. Proving the point, she once saved Rashid from being crushed by Annie Leonhart in her Female Titan form, which created a fast enmity between the two ladies. Samson, being who he is, occasionally tries to bed her after seeing her fight. She plays hot-and-cold with Brock while using these encounters to take notes on him, but this typically goes nowhere.
    • Some research on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s connections show that she's also occasionally done some work for Nick Fury in the past. Though it’s uncertain to what extent she works for Fury, what is known is that she typically deals with Fury Jr. as he’s more active these days. She did recognize Clint Barton during the conflict with the Homunculi even though he’d been called in by Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye.
    • “How cute...I guess he wants to play?”

Here's a proposal:

The Student Six Members , Divine Party of Representatives (Young Six)

  • In the eighth season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Twilight Sparkle opens a school to teach friendship to all the creatures of the world. Most of the students are ponies, but there are also five pupils representing the setting's other most-prominent species: Gallus the griffon, Silverstream the hippogriff, Yona the yak, Smolder the dragon, and Ocellus the changeling. The five of them become friends with each other and an Earth pony named Sandbar, and together they form a Cast Herd. In the finale, they help save Equestria.

@Eraqus Perhaps you can include images of both Armor of the Master and the Boy in White? He would also be enemies with the Heartless, as they represent Darkness in people's hearts (though I don't know what he would say about the more friendly Heartless such as most of the Mushroom Heartless as well as the Flan Heartless). Vanitas would also likely be an enemy too, especially if the implication about him being one of the Thirteen Darknesses fought by the Dandelions is true.

@Nitro Indigo If you still want to find a trope for the Student Six, Phantom Fire is currently reserving them for Face Your Fears. You'll need to ask permission from him first and also explain why they fit that trope here in this forum.

Heya, quick question; why is Kiwi The Bard in Opposing Fate? The game has it so that Kiwi was more than eager to prove themselves to be more than just a Bard by being willing to go after the Earthsong pieces once Eyala told them about it. Wouldn't it be more fitting for them to be in Heroic Outlooks or Heroic Actions?

Edit: And the move is complete!

Well, I can't think of a replacement trope for Kirby's animal friends, so I'd like to shift my focus to the trope they currently have; does anyone have any ideas for who would be a better representative for Assist Character?

Freudian Excuse: Not one person is entirely good or evil; something will have to have happened in the past to make them what they are today.
