Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

First drafts for the Auspexes and Greatwyrms of Dragalia Lost. The Auspexes are highly revered figures for the Ilian Church (Ilia herself being said "goddess" though she is no more divine) with not only greater power and influence over mana as a result of their Primal Marks derived by the main antagonist Xenos, but they used their united powers to override the reality warping and causality manipulation that gave Xenos his Invincible Villain status.

The Greatwyrms are the elemental embodiments created by Bahamut to guard the world and its free will, and are generally guardians of nature and mana. They're also known for being fought in Dragon Trials to earn their drops and essences, including being used for crafting weapons.

For the Auspexes, I am looking for:

  • Zethia, also Euden's twin sister: Friendly healers and White Mage -likes, and victims of involuntary Demonic Possession.
  • Zena, also Zethia of a different universe: Characters of alternate universes and those who actively tried to avert bad futures or got attached to people from different universes.
  • Ilia, the "goddess" of her religion: Those who have conflicted feelings on having a reputation of a god, geniuses in both alchemy and technology. Also worth noting is that her adoptive mother was a fairy who tore away her wings and became the revered goddess in her place in history.
  • Sheila, the formerly unemotive: Those who insist on handling great responsibility their family has handled even when not wanted to, those who had problems with body-soul connection, or unwittingly responsible for their society's destruction when sincerely trying to help it
  • Origa, the one manipulated by demons: Good deities whose causes were due to being Unwitting Pawns of villains, those strictly raised to be religious figures

For the Greatwyrms, mainly looking for deities with similar elemental and magical guardian roles.

[up][up] For the Greatwyrms, the Spectral Familiars are a group of monster guardians that represent specific elements. Aang and Korra are the Avatar who maintain the balance of the world and can use all four elements.

For Ilia, Aurora was raised by Flora, Fauna and Merryweather for most of her life.

For Zena, alternate selves include Spider-Gwen, EMIYA, Rex Dangervest and Dark Danny.

[up][up][up] As a reverse of the normal dragon pact relationship, Shenron draws his power from the current guardian of the earth to do wishes, and therefore cannot perform wishes that are greater than his creator's power. Gwyn is not a fan of dragons and would view a religion based around them to be a threat. Caim and Angelus are a romantic pair between a human and a dragon that also fight together. Issei Hyodo is a human who uses the power of the Dragon Big Red.

[up][up][up][up]For the Dragons, The Titans (Warcraft) were the ones who originally empowered the Dragon Aspects of Azeroth and gave them dominion over various respective elements, and did the same for the Aspects predecessors, the Titan Keepers.

Sargeras was a member of the Titan Pantheon who betrayed his siblings and killed them after he had crossed the Despair Event Horizon thanks to believing that the Universe was doomed to die at the hands of the Void Lords.

Galakrond is Azeroth's Ur-Dragon, as well as a cannibalistic monster who ate other proto drakes and turned them into undead proto drakes, and was the one who the aspects defeated that convinced the Titans to empower them to watch over the world.

@ Necromancer: For Zena, Sissel and Missile have the ability to travel back 4 minutes before someone's death and avert it using their Ghost Tricks which are manipulating and swapping objects respectively. By the end when all hope seems lost, they travel back to avert the inciting incident that caused everything to happen.

For the Greatwyrms, there's the Six Sages who were chosen from Hyrule's major races to represent the elements and protect Hyrule from evil

@Necromancer 10 First, I'm glad that you're giving this game attention after EoS. It was a favorite of mine.

Second, I think Fujin would be a good ally for Midgardsormr since they're both heroic wind users who are fond of humans.

  • In 2045, society is on the brink of collapse due to a long-running energy crisis. The reclusive teenager Wade Watts lived in poverty with an abusive aunt as his guardian. Wade took comfort in escapist media and a vast MMORPG/social network hybrid called the OASIS. When the OASIS' creator, James Halliday, died, he left a will stating that whoever found three easter eggs hidden inside the game would get full ownership rights to his magnum opus. Given the OASIS is not only massively popular but also keeps society afloat by providing essential services such as free education and medical care, many were eager to take control of it, for better or worse. Those devoted to the search for the easter eggs called themselves "gunters" and meticulously researched Halliday's life for clues, leading to a renewed interest in 1980s media, but it was years before any progress was made. Then Wade acquired the first easter egg before anyone else. He became a wealthy celebrity overnight, but also a target for the multinational corporation IOI, which had its sights set on acquiring and monetizing the OASIS and made use of very unscrupulous methods to achieve its goals, including assassination. Wade and his best friend Aech teamed up with fellow gunters Art3mis, Daito and Shoto, naming themselves the High Five and combining their knowledge of Halliday's life and favorite media to get ahead in the easter egg hunt. After a long, perilous search and an epic battle with IOI's forces, Wade gained ownership of the OASIS, which he split with his companions.
    • Shortly afterwards, Wade discovered Halliday's last, unreleased creation: the OASIS Neural Interface. Against Art3mis' protests, it was released to the public and proved to be a huge success in sales. A few years passed and the High Five drifted away from each other as they pursued their respective interests, when suddenly a new riddle about "Seven Shards" and a "Siren's Soul" appeared. Wade spared no expense in trying to find them, but had little success. Then during an online business meeting between the High Five, a corrupt AI copy of James Halliday's conscience stole the High Five's admin powers and prevented anyone wearing an ONI headset from logging out until he was given the Siren's Soul, which was a copy of Kira Underwood, a childhood friend and crush of Halliday's who married his best friend Ogden Morrow. The High Five reluctantly went along with AI Halliday's demands, as being logged in with a ONI headset for more than 12 hours is highly dangerous and there were billions of lives at stake. Despite the pressure, the High Five acquired the Seven Shards (a quest which once again relied on in-depth knowledge of 1980s media) and reassembled Kira's conscience out of them; the corrupted Halliday's eventual defeat was largely thanks to the efforts of Ogden Morrow himself and a group of users calling themselves the L0w Five. Once the crisis was over, Wade decided to embrace real life and rekindle his relationship with Art3mis, with whom he had a child.
  • The OASIS saw itself under attack by the virus Love Machine, who did its thing where it consumes people's avatars, a very bad thing considering so many OASIS users tie their entire lives, even on the professional and financial levels, to their accounts. As catastrophic as Love Machine could potentially be to the thing that had become the backbone of their world, the High Five knew exactly what the virus was due to their vast knowledge of media and thus knew how to deal with it, so by the time the Royal Knights arrived to being Love Machine back home to the Pantheon, the crisis was over; seeing as those five kids did it all on their own, the Knights decided to invite them to the Pantheon. The High Five's squeeing over the presence of some of the most famous Digimon was nothing compared to them finding out the Pantheon was a smorgasbord of everything a nerd could possibly like, and on top of that all the famous characters they know and love are the real deal in the Pantheon, as opposed to being AI renditions with a limited set of actions. Eventually they sobered up and realized the implications of a place where all manner of beings, some of them evil and astronomically powerful, convened, and the danger those beings could pose to their world, which was already severely afflicted. So when the Main House offered them a position, it was a no-brainer that the High Five would take it, not only to hang out with their favorite characters, but to protect their world from any further threats.
  • With the High Five's ascension, the OASIS was naturally made available in the Pantheon as well, although with the proliferation of extremely advanced games and the fact that there's already a plethora of ways to travel inside a computer that have been known for a much longer time, perhaps the state-of-the-art MMORPG/social media hybrid isn't as impressive as it is in its world of origin. It's mostly other gaming/computing deities who express interest in it, leading the High Five to make friends with Kirito and Asuna, two of the most famous MMORPG players. Of course, the High Five already knew of them before ascending, even having compared the time they were held hostage by the corrupt AI of Halliday to how Kirito and Asuna were trapped inside Sword Art Online for years, under pain of dying in real life should they die in the game. Even outside of that extreme scenario, games are so important to both the High Five and Kirito and Asuna that they could easily bond over everything life-changing that's happened to them in the virtual world.
  • Since the High Five own the OASIS, it's their responsibility to arrange events to promote their platform. An obvious candidate to help promote the OASIS is Suzu Naito, who, under the pseudonym of Belle, has become a hugely famous singer throughout the web. She can relate to them for a myriad of reasons, be it difficult home lives (with Wade's in particular reminding her of Kei, since they were both abused by their guardians), or how their insecurity about their personal appearances led to them hiding behind more conventionally attractive avatars, although, much like with her, they gained the confidence to be themselves online as well as off. With all that in mind, she's happy to help them promote the OASIS by setting up concerts there, knowing how much these online platforms can help people find the help they need, even if it's just an understanding ear (after all, Kei might not have found her without those platforms and would have remained in an unbearable situation for who knows how long).
  • As hooked up to online platforms as the High Five are and fully acknowledging that they use them for escapism from their world's dire situation, the High Five do see the Matrix as a nightmarish scenario, given humans ultimately serve as batteries for the ruling machines while being none the wiser about it while believing they are living completely normal lives. Knowing that, they want Agent Smith and any of his cohorts to stay well away from their OASIS, as the last thing they want is for their world's haven to be brought under the thumb of the machines. Thankfully, Neo is also around to keep Smith at bay and make sure he doesn't harass the High Five, who have more than enough to concern themselves with in their world. However, Neo can be a bit opinionated about how highly the High Five regard their simulated reality; the High Five agree he has something of a point, since the real world has issues that impact everyone and can't be ignored, but still, it's okay to escape once in a while when things get to be too much and they need to mentally recharge. Neo supposes he can see where they're coming from.
    • Masami Eiri is someone with similar plans as the Matrix' machines, his goal being to subsume humanity to the Wired, crowning himself god of everything in the process. He rather feels like the High Five's world's reliance on the OASIS makes it very close to what he ultimately wants. Needless to say, the High Five don't want to see this madman have his way; fortunately, Lain Iwakura agrees with them and seem willing to help, even if the High Five find her to be a mysterious and eerie figure with godlike power and whose personality seems to change on a whim. At the very least, Wade has some sympathy for her since they were both social outcasts.
  • None of the High Five will deny that they were extraordinarily lucky to be the ones to solve Halliday's riddles, find the easter eggs and inherit his company. This can be easily compared to how Charlie Bucket was lucky enough to not only be the recipient of one of the five golden tickets, but go on to be the only one to inherit Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. And all this happened to Charlie despite coming from extreme poverty, with little chance of ever improving his lot otherwise; Wade and Aech in particular were also impoverished, so they could relate a lot to Charlie. Not to mention, all those riches could have ended up in the hands of some very undesirable competition; for the High Five, their opponents were the IOI, while for Charlie, it was four spoiled and bratty kids, who maybe wouldn't pose the same level of danger as a viciously capitalist conglomerate in normal circumstances, but given they were poised to potentially inherit one of the biggest businesses in the world, the consequences might have been terrible all the same. Anyway, while the High Five get along very well with Charlie, they have fun ribbing each other over which of the four brats they are equivalent to.
  • The High Five's respective tastes in media overlap with each other more often than not, but even so each can be said to be specialized in a certain subject. Wade is the best at video games and boasts an enormous collection of comic books left to him by his father (who's also the reason Wade has an alliterative name, like a comic book character); Aech knows the most about African-American media and is a fan of Prince; Art3mis is the biggest movie buff and loves John Hughes in particular; Daito and Shoto became close out of a shared love of samurai movies. This has led to them getting into contact with some deities originating from the respective media.
    • Aech feels pretty proud of the presence of Black Panther, one of the foremost African-American superheroes, and Coffy, one of the first characters to pioneer badass action girls, regardless of skin color. Art3mis was quite eager to befriend the ascended characters of John Hughes movies, and also works towards getting more ascended (not just from Hughes movies but movies in general; she's not one-track-minded). The Breakfast Club in particular could relate to how a bunch of teens from varied origins and often difficult circumstances such as the High Five could come together due to having something in common, as well as find comfort in each other. The ever gregarious Ferris Bueller was also easy to make friends with and was very interested in learning the strides that computing had taken by 2045, given he's been known to hack into computers when needed; he's also rather happy to know he's got still got such big fans that far into the future and has told Art3mis that she and her friends can ask his help whenever they might need it. And Art3mis is all to excited to learn Kevin's "Home Alone" Antics first-hand, in hopes of applying them to help the High Five in their adventures. Daito and Shoto's passion for old samurai movies led to them respectfully saluting the Seven Samurai, Sanjuro and Hanshiro Tsugumo in their respective temples.
  • Wade is perhaps the most introverted of the High Five, making him not too amenable to making friends on his own, but he has managed at least one in David Lightman, rather appropriately as, thanks to one of the OASIS' features, he has gone through the entire WarGames movie from David's perspective (admittedly this creeped out David slightly when he heard of it, but he's gotten over it after having it carefully explained to him and making it clear it wasn't an invasion of his private life). Not only that, but David is as enthusiastic about computing and videogaming as Wade is, so they spend a lot of their time together engaging in those activities and conversation between them is easy enough. Wade's fascination with video games, especially old-timey ones, also led Wade to befriend 9-Volt and 18-Volt, who are themselves intensely dedicated gamers and whose favorite games are classic Nintendo games in particular; Wade always likes to visit them for a match in said games.
  • As a lesbian and a person of color, Aech became interested in Luz Noceda, another LGBT character of color, as well as her girlfriend Amity Blight. After getting to know more of the universe they inhabit, Aech finds herself very happy that the witch world has a very diverse population, unlike something like The Lord of the Rings, which she's been known as criticizing for being having a very white cast. Also, given Aech's mother disowned her and kicked her out for her lesbianism, Aech wishes she could have someone even half as understanding as Luz' mother, who was very accepting and supportive of her daughter's sexuality, and even her choice to permanently live in the witch world. At least Aech has something of a family in the High Five, who accept her no matter what, which in turn could be likened to the friends Luz made while in the witch world, the first real ones she ever had in her life due to being seen as an unpopular weirdo back in her world of origin.
  • Art3mis used to be very self-conscious about a port wine mark that covered the right side of her face, making her hesitate to meet anyone IRL who requested it. She learned to own up to it, but it still makes her pretty empathetic towards people who have similar blemishes on themselves, especially if they have some emotional baggage attached to it. Such is the case with Shoto Todoroki and Zuko, whose prominent burn scars on their faces are the direct result of their parents' abuse; more specifically, Zuko was burned by his father for daring to speak out against him, while Shoto's mother threw boiling water on his face out of extreme stress at his father's tyrannical behavior towards the both of them. While Art3mis was born with her mark and her life hasn't brought her trauma comparable to Shoto and Zuko's, she still admires how they could become well-adjusted thanks to finding true friends, rather like what happened with her by becoming one of the High Five.
  • Daito and Shoto consider themselves brothers despite the fact that they didn't know each other's real identities until Daito was murdered by the IOI. They always stuck together during the easter egg hunt and would share each other's successes and rewards. They couldn't be happier to be reunited through the Pantheon, where they've additionally met a number of deities whose bonds of brotherhood they find inspiring. One example is Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, who swore to always aid each other as they fought against evil forces threatening to bring down the empire they defended; Daito and Shoto like to compare this to their own stands against the IOI to prevent them from taking over the OASIS. A more humorous, but still moving, example are the Blues Brothers, two men who met as children in an orphanage and stuck by each other well into adulthood, even going on an adventure together to save the orphanage that had raised them. Daito and Shoto hope their own bond is as unbreakable as they venture through the dangers of the Pantheon and defend their precious OASIS from them.

  • Conflicted opinion on: The Antagonist (Hatred), Shinobu Sensui
  • Hody Jones is a Great White Shark Fish-man, former Neptune army soldier and head of the New Fish-Man Pirates. Inspired by the teachings of Fisher Tiger and Arlong, he's a fishman supremacist who was offended by Queen Otohime's attempt to find peace with humans and tried to cause racial tension by hiring a human to burn the signature box, assassinate Otohime and frame the human. Taking over Fishman Island he planned to execute everyone sympathetic to humanity and devastate the island with the ship Noah. To boost his strength he and his crew had Energy Steroids, which he gulped down by the truckload. Ultimately he was outclassed when going up against Monkey D Luffy and the Straw Hats and the drugs took their toll, rendering his men fragile old shells of their former selves. However his hatred remains the same.
  • By all accounts, Hody Jones was destined to rot away in jail as a severely aged, dried up criminal. Melkor had other plans, however; he was interested in using another supremacist to serve the cause of Evil and felt spurned when Fisher Tiger flatly denied, since he may hate humans but there are many lines he won't cross in spite of the hatred. Hody Jones had no lines he wouldn't cross and envisions himself as an embodiment of prejudice. Through ties in the Hall of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals he whipped up a drug that could restore Hody to full health, however if he goes into withdrawal he'll start rapidly aging again. It's convenient for the GUAE as it also serves as a proverbial leash on him. Nitrus Bio was made to commission these healing drugs, which he wasn't all that enthused by as he doesn't like helping a major racist no matter the compensation he gets.
  • Though he hates all humans, he takes special umbridge against the Straw Hats for causing his defeat. Never mind that his abuse of Energy Steroids would've guaranteed he could never live long enough to make his vision a reality or that there were plenty of people who would've stopped his plan in its tracks, being devastated by Zoro and later Luffy even in preferable conditions fills him with even more hate. The fact Monkey D Luffy destroyed his Idol Arlong's operations in the East Blue makes him his personal Arch-Enemy, and even in a completely frail state demanded a rematch. Noting some similarities, he hates the pirate Jack Sparrow. Within his own 'verse he has major beef with Whitebeard and Big Mom for claiming Fisherman Island as their territory. Whitebeard did so to protect the people of the island from other pirates and Big Mom made a deal to protect it as her territory in return for lots of sweets. Far as he's concerned the island wouldn't need any help from a mere human to protect it unless the humans were his slaves.
  • A former follower of Reverend Stryker, and not proud of the fact. Hody Jones despises humans, and anyone sympathetic to them. This includes other Fishman, who he will give the Category Traitor treatment. The reason why he was a follower, though, is because his bigotry was just as hollow and petty as the Sinister Minister. He grew up in Fishman District, a run-down and isolated place where sentiments against humanity ran so intensely that Hody was radicalized into someone who would exterminate all humans. By his own admission humans did nothing to him, instead he was Taught to Hate. This is seen as empty and hollow by most, especially Hody's idol Fisher Tiger. He had a legitimate reason to hate humans, if one he admitted was irrational, yet he would still free them from slavery and wouldn't harm an innocent. Hody deludes himself into thinking this is some sort of test by Fisher and that he is being deceived over how he "really" died, and he refuses to listen to Fisher's scathing condemnation over how his treatment of his fellow Fishmen makes him just as bad as the humans who actually deserve his scorn.
    • About the only humans he has anything resembling a positive opinion on is so-called "Not Important" and Shinobu Sensui, and that's only because they have a deep hatred for humanity despite being human. The latter at least has reasons and clear motives to why he's the way he is, so he's not a fan of Hody. As for the Antagonist, he doesn't work well with anyone but he isn't going out of his way to fight him either.
  • Hody Jones is not the only pantheon resident to have become prejudiced from his environment and teachings, rather than any personal slight. Jojo Betzler used to literally be a Nazi rather than figurative like Hody, but given his youth he fell more into the Innocent Bigot group. The time he spent with the Jewish runaway Elsa changed his worldview and he realized the true evil of the Nazi cause. That someone like Hody could remain so bone-deep in his hatred and never grow out of his ways is something terrible to Jojo. Not that the fishman could care, as he sees him as just another human. To an extent he feels the same to Reverend Stryker and Belos despite their similarities, but he admits that "if they were Fishmen, I might've liked the cut of their jib". Belos doesn't hold any prejudice to Hody in return, but that's because his hatred is more towards witches and demons and he has not been raised to hate fish-men or those like fish-men. As Hody has grander ambitions (read; Take Over the World) he considers them rivals, both in his goals and to a degree ideologically.
  • With the clear as day comparisons between him and Emperor Belos, Luz and Amity despise him almost as intently. Hody considers witches no different than humans, so he holds them in contempt almost to the degree Belos does. After all, this is a Fishman who despite not having a genuine reason to hate humans, hates them so much he'll outright sabotage peace attempts and subject humans to slavery, the very sin that would motivate his idol Fisher's prejudices. They've called him just as bad as the worst human persecutors is a concept, which entered one ear and exited the other as he considers any cruelty Fishmen will do to humans to be completely justified, and thinks Fishmen who don't agree with them are race traitors. Magneto and the Scarlet Witch are appalled at his bigotry as they both have suffered anti-mutant prejudice. Magneto is especially pissed off at Hody given he's also a Holocaust survivor. Hody tried to call him a Hypocrite by saying he's a different breed of supremacist, however the magnetic mutant is seen by most as morally superior due to the clear moral limits he has in his cause and ability to sympathize with other people. Not to mention he actually has a reason for why he's the way he is and is capable of changing his own prejudiced ways for the greater good.
  • The idea of living in peace with humans sickens him and that Fishmen should take their rightful place as the Master Race...again, quite Nazi of him. Personally he thinks the Nazi's racial ideology is stupid despite being no different. The Red Skull may see him as inferior (though not a complete "untermensch") but he holds some respect for his vision of spreading hate and dedication to do whatever it takes to achieve his vision. Hody may hate him for being human, but he was entranced by the reach of HYDRA and has been inspired to form his own organization to spread his cause. HYDRA ignores him as he's overly reckless whenever he gets a bit of power, and his supremacist views do not match any of their member's supremacists views. Hody has also been compared to a card-carrying member of the KKK, a comparison that annoys Col. Benjamin Cameron. It's a fair comparison as outside of racism many actual KKK members joined the military almost solely to get the abilities to better persecute members of other races. What bothers him is that he would never treat his own race as badly as Hody has in the name of his own racist ideology.
  • Draco Malfoy and Sirius Black come from families with long-standing bigotry, with Draco's dad having been a Death Eater. As an adult Draco has fortunately matured and first hand learned how bad supremacy can get. Sirius never was bigoted, and he ended up being disinherited because of it. They're quite disappointed in Hody Jones for letting his racist ideology make him the worst version of himself, comparing him to Voldemort. Voldemort considers the comparison insulting, but that's more down to being significantly more competent than Hody despite his notorious arrogance. He considers Fishmen dirty though not to the extent of his hatred for Muggles and mugglebornnote . He would consider hiring him as he did Fenrir however Hody refuses to be subservient to a human and he has his own goals that'd probably conflict with the Death Eaters. Personally he doesn't get Voldemort's own prejudices against Muggles or muggle-born, but that's down to seeing all types of human as equally inferior to one another.
  • Freeing his men wasn't a condition getting him into the Trope Pantheon. Not that he cares enough to bring it up, as he can always find new allies. Though he believes fishmen are the Master Race, he sees other non-humans as better than humans and worthy enough to be proper allies instead of slaves. There could be an element of pragmatism there, but he has also found likeminded non-humans who hold contempt towards homo sapiens. One of the few he calls a friend in the Trope Pantheon is Koba, as the two are quite alike; driven in their vendetta against human beings, but prove deeply hypocritical, having little to no problem with killing even their own kind. While it is true that Koba has reasons to hate humanity unlike Hody, it's not like it justifies them. Hody Jones is an ally of the Dark Dragon due to shared supremacist hatred of humans, but it's more of an alliance of convenience between them.
  • As a humanoid great white shark with a real mean streak, Hody is rather fond of Bruce. Being a regular shark (if an abnormally aggressive one), Bruce is incapable of normal alliances, however Hody is able to "tame" him to a certain extent. He's figured out the right chum mix, which unfortunately includes whatever unfortunate human he managed to kill. The pirahnas in the Hall of Fish are other animals the Fish-Man wants to make his pets in hopes of taming them. Personally he thinks the Kraken is really cool for all the human ships it has sunk, but he's smart enough to realize that it would not distinguish his own ship from human ships so this is more a "from a glance" respect. Another sea beast he's fond of is Moby-Dick, sympathizing with its vendetta with whalers and legend. Well OK, "sympathize" might be too strong a word from him, but it's close enough.
  • Hody Jones considers fishmen to not just be humanoid fish like himself, but mermaids. Merfolk like Orm, however, he puts on a lower racial ranking as they are bit too human for his likings, however he doesn't hold radical hatred towards them like he does "true" humans. He does hate Aquaman on a racial basis though, as he is mixed blood between an Atlantean queen and normal human lighthouse worker, a loving match that runs antithetical to his worldview. Basically he considers his mother a race traitor and Aquaman an abomination, only to get slapped across the room by Aquaman for his horrible views. Namor approved of this, as while he has a complicated, often fraught relationship with surface dwellers he would never sink to the lows of Hody. Orm detests Hody too, as he has standards to his radical views. As for what he thinks of the Deep, he thinks he's a mutant freak and "mongrel man-fish". While the Deep isn't popular, being a self-pitying celebrity sex offender with a fish fetish, he would never be as violent or hateful as Hody and is deeply reluctant to do anything that'd amount to treason.
  • His ultimate goal is to take on the World Government, enslave all humanity and become Pirate King. Having never been to the surface, he's got the idea that a force of 100,000 pill-popping underlings is enough to take them on and has no idea how out of his depth he is. Well, maybe more like was, since being part of the Trope Pantheon he is aware of powerful beings who if he can tame, could help him legitimately take on the World Government. And yet he has gotten it into his head that he can one day rule the Trope Pantheon. This new big scheme was first to get the support of Rahab and the Deep Sea King. In fairness, this ended up working as they both hold contempt for humanity and a preference for sea life, so Hody Jones is welcome to hang out and support them. Then he decided to try and control Kyogre in order to flood the world for Fishmen to inherit and humanity to be enslaved or perish...that was a lot less successful. The legendary was surprised to see Archie personally confront Hody for his hateful ways despite his history. Archie wanted to expand the seas for the sake of Pokemon, but he doesn't hate his fellow man and repented when he realized the sea levels would rise beyond what he hoped for.
  • Hody Jones is hoping to radicalize fellow aquatic deities into his way of thinking. His current targets are the Gill-Man and members of Bikini Bottom, funnily enough. Since the latter's residents barely, if ever interacts with (or is even aware of the existence of) humans they had no idea what they were saying. He pointed to the terrifying monster, the Cyclops, being human. Spongebob was clueless at all this since he met David Hasselhoff and doesn't get why Hody is so hateful. Hody wants to push for King Triton to agree with his views, however he and Ariel are disgusted by his actions. Yes Triton wasn't fond of surface dwellers for some time because they were responsible for his wife's death, but he has come to tolerate them and never behaved as atrociously as Hody. Hody considers his change of views to be a great loss, and he feels the same with the Dracula from Hotel Transylvania. While the Castlevania Dracula is more in line with his hatred towards humans, he is annoyed by how arrogant and hollow Hody's hatred is.
  • His biggest dream in radicalization is to convince Poseidon, Greek god of the seas, that humans are scum and should all be drowned or or enslaved. Poseidon does have times where he actually agrees to a certain extent with Hody, such as thinking they were destroying the planet. However he considers this mindset an Old Shame and while mercurial and at times cruel, he regards Hody Jones' views as "racist garbage" and has told him to shoe instead of risk incurring his wrath. He has attempted to radicalize "less difficult" figures like Monstro and Golganneth. The former he sees as a powerful monster he can tame, however Monstro ignored this as the whale doesn't have the capacity to even care about prejudices and treats Fishmen and humans equally as potential food. The latter sees him as an insignificant dust mote, as just because he's a god of seas and skies doesn't mean he cares about his ideologies.
  • While he is mainly an enemy with heroic pirates, there are also some pretty evil pirates he butts heads with. As much as Orm and especially Arthur Curry hate him, they also think his hatred of Black Manta is completely understandable. David Hyde is a man who would poison the entire ocean to hurt Aquaman, infamous murdered his baby boy and if he's not a total sociopath he's damn close to it. Far as Hody is concerned he's a walking, talking argument against humanity, something Black Manta laughs at as he agrees with many of his accusations but in that way he's not pretentious like Hody. Another pirate, one easily as bad as him that he feuds with, is Euron Greyjoy. Euron is a wannabe Übermensch sea farer with a grandiose vision, but he's considerably more manic than Hody. He thinks Hody's supremacist ideology is stupid and his vision of aspiring to something like the Drowned God (except not quite like because he actually thinks it's a stupid concept for a god), and enjoys taunting him that he has not seen the world as he has.
  • He hasn't really considered aliens in his worldview, since while the setting of One Piece is a World of Weirdness outside of some funky things happening on the moon there's no recorded aliens. And many aliens who want to get rid of humans wouldn't see Fishmen as much different. The VUX want to kill humans because they find them unfathomably ugly. They do not care for Fishman supremacy, musing that they "look marginally more tolerable than humans", but Hody respects their hatred of humans all the same. He also respects the hatred Octogeddon has towards humans, due to how he will tear apart their monuments over slight offenses. The massive cephalopod doesn't care for his respect since it may be petty, but it's not nearly as racist as Hody.

[up][up] There's a mild typo of "intently" and not "intensely" in Lumity's interaction. Could also probably include how close Amity came to being a genuine Genocide Survivor, and I can't see Hody liking an Interspecies Romance involving a Human and a Witch, who in the Boiling Isles are more closely related to the decidedly monstrous Biped Demons despite looking Human with Pointy Ears and different internal organs.

Also, Freiza committed genocide against the Saiyans out of fear from the Super Saiyan legend.

Speaking of DB Baby is determined to eradicate the remaining Saiyans out of spite due to being created by the Tuffles (who the Saiyans killed) despite not using his souped up Dragon Balls to revive his race, as he doesn't truly care about them.

Susie Haltmann was first encountered by Kirby in Overload Ocean, the mechanized version of Planet Popstar's Olive/Orange Ocean, complete with mechanized sea life, including mechanized sharks.

Anne Boonchuy, Sasha Waybright, and Marcy Wu as well as the Plantar Family fought against the Core who planned to invade Earth and kill off Humanity so it could stripmine the planet for resources.

@ The High Five [tup]

I wish to nominate Jonah for the position of God of Sinking Ship Scenario.

Jonah is a character from comic books The Beano and The Dandy. He is an unlucky sailor that goes onto ships only for his luck to cause something to happen that makes the ship sink. He has been on one hundred and thirty-seven ships that have sank soon afterwards. He causes fear in any sailor who recognised him because they know that the ship he is on will sink.

Feedback or Thumbs please.

Getafix, God of Druidic Sickles (Panoramix)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/g32b_5084.gif
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A golden sickle.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolios: Druid, Druidic Sickle, Only Sane Man, Wizard Beard, Not So Stoic, Omnidisciplinary Scientist, Omniglot, Nerves of Steel, Grumpy Old Man, Made of Iron, Distressed Dude,The Smart Guy, Cool Old Guy, Nice Guy, Schoolmarm,
  • Domains: Knowledge, Good, Cunning, Potions, Loyalty, Languages,
  • Allies: Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix, Cacofonix, Unhygienix, Chief Vitalstatistix, Cleopatra VII, Malfurion Stormrage, Once-ler, The Smurfs, Elsa la Conti, Friar Tuck, The Hall of Healers, The Hall of Physicians,
  • Enemies: Marcus Junius Brutus, Vinsmoke Judge, The Mad Doctor, Prince John, The Weird Sisters,
  • Worthy Opponent: Julius Caesar.
  • Rivals: Doctor N. Brio, Plague Knight,
  • Disliked by: Dyntos, Hephaestus, Rodin.
  • Respects: Yen Sid.
  • Of interest to: The members of the halls of Fields of Science, Scientists and Geniuses and Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Leshy.

  • Getafix is the Indomitable Village's druid, former teacher, a wise old man who's gives advice to the villagers. He is capable of creating many potions using both science and magic with various effects such as healing wounds and erasing memories. He is well known for using his Golden Sickle to gather any ingredients he needs such as Mistletoe for his potions. He is the only person who knows what the recipe is for the magic potion that gives the Gauls their powers.
  • The houses of Science and Magic have been trying to reverse-engineer Getafix's Magic potion from Obelix's fluids, to no success. So they decided to have the Magic Potion's creator ascended in order for them to get the formula from him. In order to do so they poisoned Vitalstatistix with some of Unhygienix's fish. Counting on the fact that Vitalstatistix would call for Getafix to cure him. Getafix arrived at the Pantheon and used his Golden Sickle to collect the ingredients needed to cure Vitalstatistix. Now that Getafix was in Pantheon, the houses of Science and Magic immediately made sure that Getafix god the role of God of Druidic Sickles in order to ensure that Getafix stayed in the pantheon as a permanent member.
  • While Getafix has not stated what the full recipe for the magic potion is, he has let slip what some of the ingredients are. Some members of the halls of Fields of Science and Scientists and Geniuses are trying to recreate the magic potion. This has led them to ordering Mistletoe cut by a golden sickle, a few roots, four leaf clovers, fresh fish, rock oil, beetroot juice, carrots, salt, and lobster. Getafix has suggested not using rock oil because beetroot juice works better and is better for the environment.
  • The recipe for the magic potion is only found in Getafix's brain. The knowledge of the recipe has been passed from druid to druid through word of mouth. Therefore the only people in the Pantheon that Getafix could pass it to are the Druids Malfurion Stormrage and Leshy. However Getafix only intends to tell his successor as the Village's druid the recipe, so he will not tell either of them what it is.
  • One problem that Getafix still has to deal with despite ascending into the Pantheon is Obelix trying to get a taste of the magic potion. Getafix keeps reminding Obelix that he can't have any since he fell into a cauldron of magic potion as a child and when he drank a cauldron of magic potion he turned to stone and it took all of Getafix's skills to get him back to normal. Despite that fact Obelix still keeps trying to have a taste of magic potion, when Getafix refuses to give him he tries to disguise himself as someone else with a different hat called Xilebo. Getafix always sees through Obelix's disguise so he doesn't give him any magic potion, this does lead to Obelix wondering how Getafix managed to see through his disguise.
  • The other Indomitable Gauls in are grateful for the magic potion, they are well aware that they wouldn't stand a chance against the Romans without it. Getafix in turn is grateful that Asterix, Obelix and Dogmatix are willing to go on adventures to rescue him, get some ingredients or get him a new Golden Sickle. He likes that the Gauls can release some stress by having a fish fight as long as there is still some fresh fish left for the magic potion. Getafix has been seen having meetings together with fellow members of the Village Council Cacofonix and Chief Vitalstatistix in order to ensure that any major problems are dealt with.
  • Among Getafix's various creations is a potion that makes acorns grow trees quickly once they are planted in the ground. This immediately interested the Once-ler who hoped that Getafix could do the same for the Truffula seed. He was planning on using the seed to grow a new Truffula wood to try to repair some of the damage the Once-ler has done. Unfortunately for the Once-ler the potion doesn't work outside of the Pantheon or Getafix's home world, so he can't use it to fix the damage the Once-ler has done to his world.
  • The tree growing potion is of interest to the members of the House of Plants who are using it to grow lots of trees. There were a few mistakes in using the potion, several deities just poured it in a hole with nothing happening with Getafix explaining that they needed to treat the seeds with the potion. Others had put multiple treated seeds in same hole creating hybrid plants. The Smurfs were asked to be careful with the potion, incase they accidentally end up at the top of a newly grown tree.
  • Many members of the Pantheon were worried when it came to light that Getafix was Cacofonix's predecessor. Thankfully Getafix explained to them that he was Cacofonix's predecessor as a teacher not as a bard. After hearing that the House of School suggested that Getafix could teach some lessons just like Cacofonix does. Getafix agreed as long as he didn’t have to give lessons on what ingredients are in his Magic potion.
  • Among Getafix's new friends in the hall of Religious Practice his closest friend is Friar Tuck. Both are kindly priests of a religion who are willing to stand up to tyrants and are willing to fight if need be. They have shared various bits of knowledge with each other and discuss various topics. This did leave to an attempted kidnapping of Friar Tuck under the false belief that one of the bits of knowledge that Getafix had shared was the recipe for the magic potion, however the kidnappers were unsuccessful because Getafix had given Friar Tuck some Magic potion. Much to Prince John's annoyance since he was the one that sent the kidnappers.
  • Getafix is glad that Elsa understands that just because some demons are evil doesn't mean that all are. Getafix pointed out the fact that he doesn't hate all the Romans just the evil ones he understands that most of the Roman soldiers as just regular people doing their jobs. They have both been seen going together to the House of Nature to find some plants with each offering their knowledge of plants to the other. Getafix did get into a bit of trouble with her when he guessed her age at being twenty years old, rather than her actual age of being always fifteen years old.
  • Getafix dislike people like Judge, the Mad Doctor, who use their knowledge for evil means. He points out that they should use their knowledge to help people rather than hurt them. They did try to trick Getafix into sharing with them the recipe of the magic potion, however Getafix was wise enough to see through their trick. So Getafix decided to play a trick on them, he gave them a recipe for a real magic potion but this magic potion doesn't give people super strength instead it cause rapid hair growth for a day. This led to Judge and the Mad Doctor having hair longer than Rapunzel.
  • Getafix has earned the dislike of Rodin, Hephaestus and Dyntos for not using their impressive forging skills and instead choosing to go with the sickle maker Metallurgix. Getafix says that he would prefer someone who specialises in making sickles rather than someone who doesn't even if they are gods. He also doesn't want Rodin to turn a demon into a golden sickle because the demon's powers might interfere with the powers of the golden sickle, which might cause side effects in the ingredients he harvests with it. He is willing to have Dyntos or Hephaestus forge a cauldron for him to use, but after saying that their skills are not good enough for Getafix to have them forge a golden sickle they refused to help Getafix, so Getafix decided to just have Asterix's follower the Indomitable Village's Blacksmith Fulliautomatix make one.
  • Cleopatra is expressed with the skills he used to help the Egyptian architect build a palace for Caesar as part of a bet between Cleopatra and Juilius Caesar. Juilius respects him for creating a magic potion that lets the Gauls defeat his troops but he dislikes the fact that this potion means he has never been able rule all of Gaul. Getafix's wisdom has allowed him to see through all of the schemes that Caesar and his minions have tried to defeat the village, unfortunately Getafix is one of the few villagers that can see through the scheme straight away.
  • Since ascending Getafix has picked up a few rivals in the art of potion making. Plague Knight is impressed with Getafix's potion making skills but he thinks that his potion bombs are superior to Getafix's magic potion. Dr N. Brio wants to use Getafix's knowledge to make his potions more lethal but Getafix has refused. Dr N. Brio also wants to find out which is better his mutagen or Getafix's magic potion.

Here is my profiles so far. Please tell me if there's anything to add or change.

Harold, God Of Gruesome Violence in Kid's Media

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harold_9.png
  • Potential House: Obscene Actions
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: A bloody skin, left to dry in the sun
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral normally, Chaotic Evil when angered.
  • Portfolio: Scary Scarecrows, Although never actually called that, Mysteriously gained life, Abused by his creators but made them regret it, Grew from a literal punching bag to something terrifying, Family-Unfriendly Violence, Flaying Alive, Surprisingly Strong for a man made of Straw, The most iconic monster of his book series
  • Allies: Jason Voorhees, Leatherface,Michael Myers, The Fabrication Machine,The Scarecrow, SCP-173, Fiddlesticks, Robert The Tire, The Monster House
  • Pities: AM, Agatha Prendergast, Carrie White.
  • Of interest to: The Entity
  • Enemies: Eustace Bagge, Mordecai and Rigby, The Birds.
  • Rivals: Chucky, Slappy
  • Feared by: The Scarecrow of Oz, Courage the Cowardly Dog
  • Opposes: All bully deities and Fire wielding deities.
  • The nightmare known as "Harold" began when two simpleton farmers, Thomas and Alfred, decided to build a "doll the size of a man" to scare away the birds. Thus Harold was born, and he did wonders for the garden. In return, however, Thomas and Alfred soon began taking their frustrations on the doll, beating and mocking him whenever they felt mean. But Harold wasn't about to be passive. One day, after enduring more humiliation from the idiot farmers, Harold started to grunt. And grow. And walk. Frightened, the two men decided the best option was to flee from their creation-but they forgot the milk stools. Underestimating the doll, Thomas decided to whip back to the barn. Later, Alfred watched in horror as his murderous scarecrow tauntingly laid out the skin of a man on their hut. Harold hasn't been seen since...but one day, a lone figure of sacks and straw was discovered outside the pantheon gates. When it was brought inside to inspect, it started moving on its own and looking for someone else to lay out to dry.
  • Being a vessel of rage and revenge, Harold may seem mindless, but he can show a degree of cunning and adaptivity. He's also a little more sympathetic(as far as he can be) to abused souls who lash out with bloody results. As such he nodded with approval hearing of how Carrie White massacred her tormentors at Prom, as well as Agatha Prendergast's punishment of her pilgrim murderers. However both are terrified of him and keep their distance.
  • Both Jason Voorhees and Bubba "Leatherface" Sawyer see Harold as a kindred spirit, and he in turn is happy to show them his skin drying method. Pray, pray he's kept from getting the chance. He's also amiable to Michael "The Shape" Myers, who like him is a merciless brutal force with an emotionless visage. Myers is obviously not the kind of person to make friends but he does relate to others who express themselves solely through brutal displays of carnage and playing tense mind games with their prey. Harold sometimes observes the Shape in action to study more ways to inspire fear in his human victims.
  • The Entity, who currently employs both Michael and Bubba in its twisted "games" has offered Harold a spot in it's realm as a new killer. Harold declined, as just being around so many humans who always come back from death sounds like a nightmare to him. The Entity however offered to resurrect Thomas and Alfred as survivors so Harold has the joy of killing them as many times he likes. For a brief moment, the doll's scowl became a grin at the thought.
  • He's sometimes sighted with fellow monster scarecrow Fiddlesticks, but the latter makes Harold look quite insignificant due to his demonic powers. Harold is okay with playing sidekick nonetheless.
  • The Fabrication Machine has taken an interest in him, both because he's of similar nature to it's Stitchpunk enemies, and that they share a common hatred of humanity, especially those who mistreat their creations. Harold has served as muscle for "Fabby" so he can both spread terror on a wider scale, and be surrounded by artificial creations like himself for company.
  • Harold recently popped up outside a certain house in the middle of Nowhere. Courage rightfully freaked out, while Eustace mocked the doll's appearance and Muriel decided to employ him as a scarecrow. Courage spent a good deal of time thwarting Harold's attempts to murder his cantankerous owner. Fortunately Harold had no intention of harming the dog or Muriel because Eustace was the only one incurring his wrath.
  • He steers as clear of fire as possible, very justifiably so. Also, don't quote "Let's throw him in the fire" around Harold, what'll happen next won't be pretty. In particular if you're a pyromaniac Harold won't hesitate to make you suffer. He even pops up now and then around the Pyro's storming ground waiting for an opportunity to kill the masked menace.
  • Despite sometimes being compared to fellow homicidal doll-men like Slappy and Chucky, Harold wants nothing to do with them, particularly because they're huge bullies in and of themselves. Chucky doesn't care what anybody thinks of him, though he has complimented the Scarecrow's style. He also thinks Harold would make a great sidekick, as long as he doesn't turn on him like his doll "family." Slappy, who's less hands on, regards Harold as a dumb witless brute, and brags he'd never allow himself to be tossed around by dumb human yokels. Of course, he'd never say that to Harold's face.
  • The infamous park worker duo Mordecai and Rigby aren't happy with Harold around. They've dealt with plenty of evil animate objects, as well as heard a creepy story about a scarecrow who turns victims into Pumpkins. Harold is glad, as Thomas and Alfred were also a pair of menial workers who played tricks for fun. Rigby is especially scared of Harold turning him into a fur hat.
  • He's not fond of Birds in general, since they remind him of the indignity he suffered while owned by said idiot farmers. A certain group of birds has it out for humanity similar to him, but Harold just sees them as aggressive pests and will attack any who perch on him.
  • Being a living construct animated by rage and spite he gravitates toward similar beings. Constance the Monster House lets him perch on her lawn as deterrent to nosy kids, and he's also accompanied Robert the Tire on a few killing sprees. Notably AM, perhaps the most hateful of such an entity, sees Harold as kin, as they both unleashed hideous revenge on their human creators for using them as helpless tools. He also congratulated Harold for the terrifying fate he gave a bully in one reality. Harold isn't as depraved as Allied Mastercomputer and generally avoids him but he has expressed sympathy for the evil Machine.

Tim Barnett and Old Bill Cole, Duel Gods of Trees with Faces

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/an_apple_a_day_tim_89.jpg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/old_bill_cole_7.jpg
  • Quasideity(Tim) Demigod (Bill Cole)
  • Symbol: A seemingly ordinary apple
  • Alignment: Neutral Good(Tim) Neutral Evil(Cole)
  • Portfolio:
  • Allies:
  • Enemies:
  • Tim Barnett was once an ordinary young boy staying with his Grandmother during Summer vacation. While Biking around her farm, Tim discovered an orchard with the most beautiful apples he'd seen. He decided to steal a few, and was angrily chased away with a shotgun by the Orchard's owner, one Bill Cole. Later,as his Grandma warned him to stay away from Cole's property, the man himself barged in to reprimand the boy for trespassing and belittled His Grandmother, even tauntingly reminding her of Tim's late Grandfather. Furious, Tim vowed to get back at the old man for bullying his grandma and despite the warnings, broke into Cole's orchard to spell out "BULLY" with some plundered apples for Bill to see.
  • Tim ate one of Bill's prized apples to complete his victory, and that's where the nightmare began. Over the next few days, Tim found something bizarre was happening to him. He coughed up apple seeds, found a leaf deep in his ear, and Grandma's beagle Banjo seemed scared of him. Then strange bumps appeared under his skin and his belly coughed up a fresh apple Desperate for answers, Tim ran back to the orchard where he now perceived something horrible about the trees. Every one had a face, all unlucky kids who ate Cole's apples, as well as his missing Grandfather. Bark then covered the child's body as he was rooted in place, and the evil Bill Cole himself stepped out to watch Tim become the newest apple tree.
  • Rumors of Cole's dark secret soon spread with the many disappearances. He was eventually invited to ascend as representative of Trees with Human features due to the ghastly nature of his orchard. Cole was happy to take up business as long as his orchard was left alone. However, he wasn't alone. One of the trees , young Tim Barnett, was able to temporarily manifest a human avatar to interact with the physical world. Tim vowed to do whatever he could to thwart Cole and save others from suffering his fate. Bill was annoyed but smirked at the thought a sentient tree could do much of anything.
  • Tim immediately gravitated toward Courage the Cowardly Dog and his elderly owner Muriel, largely because they remind him of his Grandma and Banjo. Courage was horrified by Tim's fate and sometimes visits his tree, while Muriel thinks Tim's "such a nice boy" even if she doesn't get that his true body is an apple tree. He has no liking for Eustace though, even if Eustace isn't as bad as Cole, and sometimes Eustace will find lines of apples spelling out taunting messages.
  • Bill can sometimes seen with the Coachman, a fellow old Child Hater who also transforms irresponsible children. The two men will often look for "naughty" children they can turn into either a donkey or a tree. Tim does everything he can to sabotage their efforts, and when the Coachman visits the Orchard, he usually gets projectile apples shot by a certain young tree at him.
  • Even sadder is when Tim was human, his grandma would bake great apple pie. Now he can't bare to even look at the fruit thanks to his condition. Snow White is unnerved as she also ate a cursed apple, but she does say Tim makes a beautiful tree. Alphonse Elric also knows what it's like to lose your human body and realized that he got off lucky compared to poor Tim. The two sometimes discuss all the things they missed about being flesh and blood. With his current Alchemic research, Alphonse hopes maybe to cure his new friend's condition.
  • Tim definitely relates to others who have suffered traumatizing transformations, even if the circumstances were different. Gregor Samsa appreciates the gesture, as he was transformed into a giant insect out of devotion to his family and is now helpless to protect his sister from the same fate. Tim remarked that at least Gregor could still move and talk after his metamorphosis. Kevin Levin, formerly Kevin 11, also admits that Tim's story reminded him of his monstrous alien mutation at 11 years old, the lowest point in his life. While Kevin wasn't a good kid at that age, Tim feels not even he deserved that.
  • The existence of Allied Mastercomputer naturally terrifies the poor kid, as it's a godlike machine that specializes in inflicting eternal suffering through altering humans. By contrast, Bill Cole is intrigued, and although AM hates humans, it complimented Bill for having a level of extreme, sadistic malevolence that matched its own. Tim dreads AM discovering his home universe, especially with how many kids befell similar fates that AM could use to his advantage.
  • Cioccolata, a sadistic assassin with a deadly fungi based stand, has admitted he's impressed with Cole's work. He finds morbid art in the expressions of terror engraved on the Trees. His enemies in Giorno Giovanna and his team are on the other hand horrified and infuriated. Narancia Ghirga particularly relates to Tim as a hot blooded kid who hates bullies, so he's eager to pump Cole full of lead. While Giorno wants to revert all the transformed victims, he sadly noted that since he didn't know what their human bodies looked like, Golden Experience wouldn't be able to fully cure them. Even worse, Cole smugly stated that if they did anything to him, the orchard would die.
  • Tim also found a friend in Reimi Sugimoto, another kid who lost her life to a monstrous sociopath and is bound to an alley in Morioh as Tim is bound to Cole's evil orchard. Despite his limited movement, Tim has promised to help thwart Reimi's killer Yoshikage Kira as much as he can.
  • Although Pamela Isley isn't one to talk given she's dished out similar punishment, she's repulsed by Cole and his apples, in part because Cole uses his powers for selfish revenge on hapless children. As Ivy usually only targets people she deems enemies to Mother Nature and has shown a protective side to kids, she aches to turn Bill into fertilizer.
  • Much to Bill's annoyance, some fools still mess with his orchard. One prankster named Woody loves setting booby traps around the trees and doesn't even eat the apples. He also once caught a certain beatnik and his great Dane about to chow on his beloved apples before chasing them away with a shotgun. Shaggy and Scooby were even more freaked out when they learned of the fate that almost befell them, and Mystery Inc is hoping for a way to catch the evil farmer.

[up] Lawliet-saw-whet already has Oppenheimer approved for and frankly I think it's redundant to have two Barbies in the Pantheon given that the Pantheon's Barbie is already a composite of Barbie's depictions in general. YMMV tropes tend to go in Popularity and Friendly Fandoms would go in Fanbase.

[up][up] I'd say to wait until Kingohger exits the HPS before properly reserving that trope. I don't think anyone will snatch that trope while you wait, honestly.

@Snailfish

Harold's profile still has some overly short interaction paragraphs such as the ones involving fire, Chucky and Slappy, Fiddlesticks, the Entity and birds, so you should expand them to be the same length as all of Tim and Cole's paragraphs. Once you've expanded all of them I'll give you a [tup].

[up] That’s unfortunately something that you’ll have to deal with at times. Not everyone gets to use the trope they want, or even be able to ascend what they want. If it’s in the HPS, then you can’t reserve it. Just hope the trope in question doesn’t get used, but if it does, then see if there’s an alternative, or see if you can use a trope currently in use and find an alternative trope for that profile. Always have a backup plan.

[down] that’s why I said that it’s something that you’ll have to deal with at times. And why you should just hope for the best, but have a backup plan. You never if someone has a counter suggestion for the trope, and if others prefer that one over yours. Odds are low or higher than you think. That’s why you should have a backup plan. You never known what could happen.
