WORK IN PROGRESS!

Trope Pantheons has a lot of people they ascended to the status of divinity. However, some people don't need to be 'ascended' because in the works they came from they were already gods. Here is a list of such characters.

See also Pantheon. The Pantheonic Bestiary (which includes a section for Gods and Demigods). Overlaps with Pantheon.Myths And Legends.

This was started by M-95 (Sandbox), however, ANYONE is free to edit this list (permission or otherwise) as long as they don't rewrite the whole thing.

Endnote: The Biblical God

There are multiple characters in the Pantheon that are meant to represent the 'Abrahamic' (Christian, Islamic, and Jewish) conception of God. Most of these are fictionalizations, but out of all of them The Love That Moves The Sun and the Outer Stars closest represents what these religions traditionally imagine God to be like (especially Christianity as Dante was a Roman Catholic). Also, Aslan is listed here because C. S. Lewis intended him to be Christ himself, making him the Christian God as Second Person of the Trinity.

Note that under Interpretatio graeca, the God of the Jews was associated with Zeus/Jupiter, Cronus/Saturn, and Ouranos/Caelus by different ancient writers.

Invented For Fiction.

Deities that are purely fictional and had their character invented for fiction (i.e. not fictional depictions of actual objects of worship). Notes describe (among other things) what they were originally god of (if anything) in their respective universe. Franchises of origin sorted alphabetically.
