Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Repost of Escanor.

  • Quasideity in night form, Greater God in day form (Borderline Overdeity as "The One")
  • Symbol: His Lion's Sin Tattoo
  • Theme Song: Sunshine
  • Alignment: Neutral Good in night form, Chaotic Good in day form
  • Portfolio: Courtly Love, Loves Merlin because she was kind to him, Cursed with Awesome, Powered by the Sun, Power Incontinence, Hour of Power, Guile Hero, Hidden Depths, Inexplicably Awesome
  • Domain(s): Love, Sun, Destruction, Pride
  • Allies: Meliodas, Diane, Ban, King, Gowther, Merlin, Amaterasu, Helios, Ra, Sherlyn, Flonne, Heart Aino, Princesses Celestia and Luna, Utsuho Reiuji, Gawain, Django, Leona, Solaire of Astora, Superman
  • Enemies: Ten Commandments, Nightmare Moon, Yami, Balanar, Dracula, All evil vampires
  • Complicated Relationship: Sekhmet/Hathor
  • Escanor was born as the prince of the Castellio Kingdom. When he was a child, his older brother Daymond used to pick on him until one day, his power, Sunshine, awakened and he accidentally broke his brother's arm. His parents disowned him because of what happened and his strange unexplained appearance and soon the Kingdom's forces mobilized to kill him. He was rescued by a kind woman named Rosa, who hid him in a barrel and set it adrift at sea. He survived, but wherever he went, people called him a monster even when he helped them. However, he eventually met Merlin and Meliodas, who asked him to join the Seven Deadly Sins. Although he was initially uninterested, he quickly fell in love with Merlin, who was the first person since Rosa to be kind to him, and accepted the offer.
    • Although the source of Escanor's power was unknown for a long time, it was eventually revealed that Sunshine is a Grace, a blessing created by the Supreme Goddess that was originally given to Mael of the Four Archangels, which had been passed down to Escanor because he was considered worthy.
  • When the gods heard of how Escanor's love for Merlin allowed him to not only overcome Gowther's Nightmare Teller but also to transform into his day form at night, it was unanimously decided to ascend him into the pantheon. Escanor's ascension occured while the Sins were fighting against the Ten Commandments. Wishing to help his friends, Escanor asked the various sun deities to provide him with sunlight on the battlefield. Although uncertain as to how that would help, Amaterasu, Helios and Ra agreed to help him. Everyone was surprised to see the meek and scrawny bartender transform into a boisterous and prideful fighter. Making his way to the battle, Escanor made his presence known by falling from above and striking the ground, which forced the Ten Commandments to retreat and ended the battle. Afterwards, his fellow Sins thanked him for his timely arrival and expressed their happiness at the fact that all seven of them had finally ascended into the pantheon.
  • Due to the nature of his power, Escanor frequently teams up with Amaterasu, Helios and Ra when going into battle. At the peak of his power at high noon, Escanor becomes "The One", described as an "invincible incarnation of power", for a minute. However, with the aid of the sun deities, he can remain as "The One" for a much longer period of time, although he requires extensive healing afterwards.
  • Escanor's love of Merlin has earned him the respect and support of Shelyn, Flonne and Heart Aino. All three encourage him to confess his feelings to Merlin, but his insecurity prevents him from doing so. Flonne and Heart have tried to set up Escanor and Merlin on a date on several occasions, but Shelyn generally tries to reel in their zany schemes as she understands that, although well-meaning, they generally only end up making Escanor nervous and uncomfortable.
  • Escanor gets along quite well with Princesses Celestia and Luna, which they found rather surprising given the nature of his power. Princess Luna in particular was very happy to make a friend. Through them, he also became allies with Utsuho Reiuji and the other Protectors of Night And Day and joined them in opposing Nightmare Moon and her plans to bring about Eternal Night.
  • Escanor was quick to befriend other deities who draw their power from the Sun, such as Gawain, Django, Leona, Solaire of Astora and Superman. Gawain was initially worried because he had previously fought against another sun-powered man named Escanor, whom he had previously killed in combat in order to rescue Arthur's female cupbearer. However, Gawain was pleasantly surprised to discover that Escanor was much friendlier and heroic, and the two became good friends. Both Django and Leona quickly embraced him as an ally and were amazed by his power when they first saw him in battle. Solaire was, unsurprisingly, thrilled to work alongside Escanor and greeted him with his trademarked PRAISE THE SUN gesture. Superman remarked that Escanor's changing demeanor depending on his form is similar to how he himself behaves when switching between being Clark Kent and Superman. In his day form, Escanor has expressed a desire to challenge Superman to a fight, as he regards him as potentially being a Worthy Opponent.
  • Escanor quickly became enemies with Yami, whose desire to spread evil and darkness and attempts to destroy Amaterasu resulted in Escanor developing a strong dislike of him. Similarly, Escanor regards Balanar as one of his most dangerous enemies not only due to Balanar's powers being the exact opposite of his own, but also due to his ability to make time swift from day to night immediately, albeit only temporarily. Having previously fought against the Demon Chandler, who had a similar ability, Escanor is wary of Balanar and makes sure to never underestimate him.
  • When it was revealed that Escanor was responsible for killing Vampire King Izraf and a large portion of the Vampire Clan that had taken over the Kingdom of Edinburgh, he quickly gained enmity of all evil vampires within the pantheon. Dracula in particular regards him as a large threat and is planning to find a way to kill him someday.
  • Escanor's interactions with the Egyptian Goddess Sekhmet are somewhat complicated. Whenever she's on a rampage, Escanor is typically one of the first to be sent to confront her, as her powers not only don't harm him but actively make him stronger. However, he gets along quite well with her whenever she is Hathor, particularly since she is a Hard-Drinking Party Girl and quickly developed a fondness for the alcohol that he serves in his bar within his temple.

[down]You can add an interaction between Shirou and Gowther, since he can similarly make his weapons spontaneously appear when he needs them. I've already added an interaction between the two in Gowther's profile.

  • Good Counterpart to: Kessler
  • The Counter Guardian Servant of Rin Tohsaka irregularly summoned into the Fifth Fuyuki Holy Grail War who claims to not remember anything from his past life. That was a lie, as he is actually an alternate future self of Shirou Emiya who is finding the perfect opportunity to kill his younger self to escape his miserable fate. Later on, after their fight he does learn that even though Shirou can't let go of his ideals completely he still can change his future to not be like Archer who fades away content with the fact that Shirou might not turn out like him anytime soon once the Holy Grail War ended.
    • He has been chosen for the title of God of Weapon Imitations due to perfectly copying Noble Phantasms of legendary heroes and use their full effects without fulfilling their chosen wielder requirements. Archer feels the title sound great and has a nice ring to it, so he accepts it and his position is cemented into the Trope Pantheons.
  • Visits his master Rin Tohsaka on occasion, mostly to make sure she hasn't melted the universe into a sea of anti-time by mistake. Oddly enough, these visits usually end in multiple explosions.
  • When Kiritsugu ascended in the pantheon, only a smile came on his face.
  • Respects Hakumen as a Worthy Opponent, occasionally dueling him. Likewise, he wishes to test Vergil's skills some day... Whenever he's free.
  • Recent events in the Pantheon have been bad for Archer; after a fight with Itachi Uchiha, Archer found himself on the receiving end of a Mind Rape and is now brainwashed into fighting for the GUAE. Really, he was just acting, and needed a convenient way to sneak back into the GUAE and break their plans. His end goal is to assassinate the Joker, a threat that he feels has become too dangerous yet Bruce Wayne is unwilling to kill.
  • The fact that both he, Balrog and Relius Clover share the same voice is what shocks him so much.
    • He's not as shocked when the voice was also heard from Siegfried, but EMIYA is nevertheless annoyed. After clinging to the idea of being a 'Hero of Justice' got him stabbed in the back, he couldn't fathom why he still kept believing it.
  • Despite now being on the same side, he and Lancer still have a slight problem of fighting whenever they get within sight range of each other. It's not that they dislike each other. Lancer just refuses to let a fight go unfinished, and Archer feels the same about letting Lancer think that he won.
  • Is one of the members of the Agents of Balance, a neutral faction preventing the Regime and Forces of Chaos from getting an edge over the other. The guardians are considering a decision to make a mediator for the House of Personal Appearance for this reason. Archer, on his part, initially declined on this, but reluctantly accepted it.
  • As of the Grand Order Grail Wars, Archer has become a more relaxed and idealistic person, and is more willing to reveal his true identity. As a side effect of fighting alongside Chaldea, he also started to help in the House of Food, though he's never there if Shirou is present.

Dragon Slave!

*Goodbye town and hello smoking crater.*

Lina Inverse, Goddess of Unscrupulous Heroes (Beautiful Sorcery Genius [self-proclaimed], Bandit Killer, Lina the Pink, Queen of Destruction, Dra-mata, Dragon Spooker, Enemy to All Who Live [call her the latter two nicknames at your own risk])

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lina_inverse.png
  • Potential House: Ambiguity (Anti Heroes), to a lesser extent Heroes (Heroic Archetypes)
  • Intermediate Goddess (Overdeity when summoning the power of the Lord of Nightmares)
  • Theme Songs: Give a Reason, Get Along
  • Symbol: A Sack filled with Precious Jewels.
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Black Magic Combined with Swordsmanship, Highly Explosive Magic (especially the Dragon Slave), Sociopathic Heroine, Thievery, Shorttank, Flat-Chested Heroine, The Voice of Megumi Hayashibara, Destructive Saviour, Big Eater.
  • Domains: Magic, Destruction, Greed, definitely not Dragons.
  • Herald: Gourry Gabriev
  • Creator: Lucifer
  • Allies
  • Rivals: Marisa Kirisame
  • Enemies: Smaug, Bowser, Tiamat, Sindragosa, Grima, Yuuki Terumi and Zamasu
  • Opposed by: The Dragons Sub-house, all other Dragon-based deities
  • Odd Friendship with: Rei Ayanami, Birdie, Nappa, Noel Vermillion, Etna
  • Fears: Piccolo, Saonel and Pirina, Escargon, transponder snails, Shizuka Hanekura/Akatsuki
  • Dislikes: Jessica Rabbit, Crimson Viper
  • Lina Inverse is a young and avaricious Black Magician Girl from the land of Zephilia, existing within Lucifer's World of Chaos. Despite her mere age of 15, she is known throughout said world as one of the most powerful and feared sorceresses in all the land, so much so that she can apparently frighten dragons to the point that they side step her "out of sheer revulsion" (which actually does happen in the pilot to her series), infamous for her short temper, skill with her Dragon Slave blasts, and the massive collateral damage that results when she fights the forces of evil.
  • Lina prefers to focus her magical rage on living creatures and relieve them of their valuables, usually pursuing power and riches for herself, but gets dragged into saving the world along the way. She gains immense attack bonuses against dragons and Money Spiders, similar to how the legendary devil hunter Dante gets stronger through skills, red orbs, etc. acquired during his adventures battling demons and the undead. Despite their disparity in choice of targets and her greedy disposition, the two met and became friends very quickly once both were in the Pantheon, due to their interests and attitudes being similar yet different enough to balance out.
  • Lina's friendship with Dante, as well as her association with a group called the Sorcerer's Guild in her universe, would be a large part of the reason why she was occasionally brought in to help out with the Hunter Squad of which Dante was a member. She even helped him pay off his debt to his associate Lady. That said, there was a fairly long period of time where she hadn't been around said team or even seen much in the Pantheon, having gotten lost looking for treasure. During this time which the squad had added two new members, got a new base, and changed its name to the Night Hand. While a bit miffed at this upon her return, she mellowed out once Dante assured her that she wasn't being replaced.
  • Hanging out with Dante and helping out the Night Hand also reminds her a bit of her self-proclaimed protector Gourry, as well as her parents — while the latter currently own a grocery store, her father is an ex-mercenary while her mother is an ex-sorceress.
  • Is currently hatching a plan to get her "precious" thing back from Marisa of the Magic House, and has consulted with Carmen Sandiego and Robin Hood to do it without killing her (she also plans on picking up some of Marisa's spell cards to add to her arsenal).
  • Despite her status as an Intermediate Goddess, she is capable of taking down almost any deity in the Pantheon by using her unique ability to draw on the power of the Lord of Nightmares. However, she is extremely reluctant to actually do so.
    • She has managed to kill one of the seven shards of Ruby Eye Shabranigdu, who is essentially a demon god, and the fused form of Dark Star Dugradigdu and Night Dragon Vorpheed, who are each as strong as Ruby Eyes full form when on their own, without calling on The Lord of Nightmares.
  • Legends have it that she was once defending some sort of Sentinel Ancient and had grown fond to the job. Lina currently didn't quite remember doing so, until she met up the other Goddess with the same name and they eventually became friends thanks to their proud attitude. Of course, Lina's pissed that this other Lina is a lot more attractive physique-wise (largely due to being older), but she feels more content because her Dragon Slave is far more destructive than what the other Lina could muster.
  • Lately, fellow dragonslayer Ornstein has shown a good amount of interest in Lina, and wants her to replace him as one of the Four Knights of Gwyn due to the fact he's seemingly being slowly consumed by the Abyss. Lina is more than eager to take his place, but Ornstein has also set his eyes on the Fairy Tail Guild's ascended members, who are none the happier about it.
  • One of the things she fears most are slugs. Piccolo, Saonel and Pirina make her extremely uncomfortable due to being the strongest members of a humanoid slug race. Escargon likes to take advantage of this to sneak up on Lina and scare her in order to let off steam whenever his boss King Dedede has him stressed out. She also doesn't want to get anywhere near the One Piece deities' temples due to their use of transponder snails for communication.
  • Her other great fear is her big sister Luna, a Knight of Ceifeed who punished her extremely harshly for an indecent prank she tried to pull at one point. Upon hearing about the recently-ascended girl called Akatsuki who tends to shut up perverts and other nuisances with hard knees, she hopes Akatsuki never hears about what she did to Luna.
    • Despite being terrified of Luna and others like her, she's really Not So Different in the "intense punishments" regard. She's a big believer in returning threats, insults, and general annoyances with far more serious "punishments", such as blowing up a whole restaurant because somebody split her food, blowing up some ruins because they contained skimpy idol singer outfits and a book of songs instead of an ancient tome of spells, or even using the Dragon Slave on a friend for mocking her singing.
    • Yuuki Terumi has tried to annoy her with this knowledge by calling her a defective clone of Luna, then responding to her ensuing outburst by asking her if she's ten. She in turn hit him with a Dragon Slave. This got both Terumi and Zamasu to pay attention to her, noticing her power and deeming her yet another heretical mortal traversing on the territory of the gods.
  • Occasionally shares buffet tables with the likes of Birdie and Nappa, who she gets along with as long as they're off the clock. Her seriously high levels of magic use require her to eat a lot to compensate.
  • Sympathizes with Noel Vermillion and Etna due to their A-Cup Angst. While her chest is nowhere near quite as flat as theirs, it's largely obscured by her outfit and petite size and ultimately pales in comparison to her friend Naga's DD-cups, leaving her with similar inadequacy issues. Though she's cool with all of the Saber Marionettes, the one she'll hang out with most is Cherry for much of the same reasons. That said, she's not sure how she feels about Cherry telling her she sounds like Lime.
  • Whether her hair is depicted as orange, auburn, or red often depends on the medium and time. Her interactions with fellow redheads in the Pantheon tend to vary, however. For example, due to her body image issues as described above, she tends to get jealous and immature around Jessica Rabbit and C. Viper. And of the Saber Marionettes, Bloodberry is the most likely to draw out the insecurity about her figure, but also the most likely to get her Hot-Blooded nature flowing, as the two fiery redheads tend to feed off each other. Much to the misfortune of others around them.
  • Despite her main obsession being magic, she can sometimes be seen visiting the House of Technology, specifically the Robots and Machinery subhouses.
  • She's literally been arrested and tried for being Lina Inverse. Then again, considering "being Lina Inverse" means "being a Destructive Savior driven by Greed and prone to Disproportionate Retribution who's willing to steal and haggle for food and gold even at the most inopportune times", that's hardly unjustified. That said, her comedic sociopathy plays far less in the manga volumes compared to the anime series, so she doesn't feel like it fully applies.
  • "Ichika bachika! Do, or die!"

Desiree "DiDi" Chastel, Goddess of Problems to Orgasm

  • House: Medical Conditions

  • Symbol: A low-cut dress
  • Alignment: Usually Neutral Good, falling into Neutral Evil (if not Stupid Neutral) in her bad days
  • Portfolio: Struggling to Orgasm In Spite of a Busy Sex Life, Amazonian Beauty, Statuesque Stunner, So Beautiful, It's a Curse, Gag Boobs, Ms. Fanservice, Making Men Horny (And Most Women Too), Québécois Accent That Always Slips In Some French, Boobs Of Steel, Not Good with Rejection
  • Domains: Sex Appeal, Orgasm, Fanservice
  • Allies: Power Girl, Litchi Faye Ling, Kaguya Nanbu,, She-Hulk, Inspector Clouseau, Obelix, Hercule Poirot, Helena Douglas, Tina Armstrong and the other Dead or Alive ladies, The Pantheon Wrestling Federation (specially The Beautiful People), Katsuragi and most of the Lustful Acts house, all the Lustful Behavior deities
  • Opposes: Kiara Sesshouin, all Slasher Movie villains and scary movie monsters in general
  • Opposed by: Noel Vermilion (one-sided), married deities

  • Didi Chastel is a voluptous Québécois woman who never goes unnoticed, and thus has a long line of suitors. However, she has a problem: in spite of her busy sex life, Didi took very long to actually experience an orgasm, and not only because her impressive sex appeal made men finish very fast. It took an underqualified therapist to make Didi actually climax, and only really sexual friend managed to repeat the feat. The Pantheon sympathized with her plight and ascended Didi, hoping her life as a deity can be enjoyable, in or out of bed.
  • Her sex appeal manifested pretty much as soon as Didi ascended, making just about every man - and quite a few women - turn around to check on her, causing some accidents along the way. This inspired some deities to create portable invisibility devices to Didi for occasions where she'll wander around the Pantheon. And yet whenever she forgets those cloaking gizmos, you can expect Didi to cause some distractions and damage. Double if she's jogging.
  • Even if Didi's love life and anorgasmia made it difficult not to sympathize, many in the House of Love question her overall behavior: along with easily discarding men, her quest for an orgasm made Didi immature, bitchy, and self-centered - and worst, she treated partners who managed to make her climax in a clingy manner. After being called out, Didi has promised not to behave so obnoxiously, specially as not everyone can be convinced by being served with a good breakfast the next day.
  • Didi has had no problems in attracting droves of suitors, to the point of making just about every deity in a relationship violently protective of their men. The House of Lustful Behavior house has been the most collaborative in her quest for another orgasm, and Didi has also gotten help from many in the nearby Lustful Acts, getting closer in particular with Katsuragi, whose experience in groping has yielded positive results. Katsuragi's origin in a fighting game also helps with Didi's interest in wrestling, as both have become sparring partners.
  • A budding wrestler, Didi is always at the PWF to continue her training, and has been taken under the wings of Angelina & Sky. Being a big breasted blonde fighter, Didi found two equals in Helena Douglas (who even has a similar accent and offers the possibility of covert conversations where both women speak French) and Tina Armstrong (an experienced wrestler who is offering Didi all the help she can), who in wishing she evolves from her Unskilled, but Strong status, have brought Didi into the Dead or Alive competitions.
  • Got easily along with Power Girl, given they're both buxom blondes who are impressively strong (even if Didi is only human). Kara has since introduced Didi to She-Hulk and some of her housemates whose titles owe to their breasts.
  • Noel Vermillion grew an instant dislike for Didi, feeling downright intimidated at her chest. Didi has attempted to court Noel, as the memories of the equally flat-chested Kiley being responsible for her first orgasm makes Didi hopeful, but Noel has not budged in yet.
  • Didi's Québécois accent, always peppered with French terms, made her instantly get the attention of Hercule Poirot, and they became friends even if the detective sometimes says things way over Didi's capacity. Helps he is somehow immune to her charms.
    • Another Francophone investigator with that distinctive speech, Jacques Clouseau, had a brief fling with Didi and they have spent time together ever since, helped by how she finds him a funny guy.
  • Obelix, who already has something for blonde women, can hardly contain himself near Didi. Given the Gaul is a sweet and mostly innocent man who doesn't seem to have sexual interest (he's one of the few who has no problems actually looking at her face), Didi has returned the attention. Obelix even accepts having Didi train her wrestling moves on him.
  • Kiara, whose creed revolves around sexual pleasure, is doing her best to bring Didi to her side. While at first Didi was tempted, specially as Kiara's hands-on approach nearly made her climax upon meeting, the fact she already found something to make her life more than a Quest for Sex in wrestling led to an initial rejection, and other deities warning Kiara has some darker endgame made Didi even more resistant.
  • Has been warned to keep away from the Cartoon Network deities, because Lord know what sort of damage would ensue if Didi replied to someone who wanted Dee Dee instead. Or what would happen if she actually accepted to go out with Johnny Bravo.
  • A fan of horror movies, in her downtime she goes to the house of Theater to watch some, to the delight of whoever is standing next to DiDi. Of course, looking like the typical bimbo that is slaughtered in a Slasher Movie, Didi has been targeted by the ascended slasher villains, much to her chagrin. Knowing that there are zombies and other monsters that can attack at any time also displeases her, specially if it's something Didi can't fight with her bare hands. At least Power Girl's got her back, and just about any man in the vicinity is willing to protect Didi.

Someone suggested Market-Based Title, but another trope regarding renames seemed better. And I know she goes by the American name in the manga too, it's just to add some backstory...

  • Proposed House: Nicknames and Renames
  • Theme: "Swan Song"
  • Intermediate Goddess
  • Symbol: The Damascus Blade
  • Alignment: Neutral Good, pending on Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Having Different Names Depending on the Region, Big Anime Eyes, Cyborg Girl, Action Girl, Destructive Waifs, Young Looking But Centenary, Adorkable Badass Adorable, Cute Bruiser, One Woman Army, Amnesiac Hero Who Used to Be Among the Enemies, Assassin Outclassin', Heroes Love Dogs, Rollerblade Good
  • Domains: Eyes, Warriors, Cyborgs, Anime
  • Superior: James Cameron
  • Allies: The Liberion Arcadia, Motoko Kusanagi, River Tam, Jason Bourne, The Terminator, Jake Sully, Willy Wonka and Charlie Bucket, KOS-MOS, Roll, Sgt. Calhoun, Iron Man, Cyborg, Labrys, Nu-13, Machete
  • Enemies: SkyNet, Dr. Robotnik, Ultron, Triborg, all Tyrannical Figures and people who kill dogs
  • Opposes: Rorschach
  • Conflicting Opinion: ARIA
  • Already present as the follower of two deities, Alita was ascended in recognition of getting a film adaptation promised for decades. However, the fact she was now both a Japanese manga character named Gally (after Galatea) and an American film one called Alita caused the cyborg's brain to short circuit and bring back the once faultering memory that seemed fixed. In any case, she answers to Alita, Gally, Yoko, or any other moniker she ever had.
  • The two deities she followed have gotten along well with Alita, Jason Bourne for also being a deadly amnesiac who did some bad stuff in his forgotten memories, and The Major as both are deadly but well-intentioned cyborgs with Hollywood adaptations.
  • As soon as she ascended, Alita went to James Cameron's shrine thanking him for making her movie a pet project of his. Cameron in turn introduced her to his two biggest sci-fi creations, the T-800 and Jake Sully, who got along with Alita easily. On the other hand, she was less than pleased at being targeted by Skynet to join its destructive schemes.
    • Machete also decided to meet Alita given they share a director. While both couldn't be more different from each other, their shared tragic stories, ability to wreck opponents, and propensity for being targeted still made them bond.
  • One aspect of her amnesia that the Pantheon is trying to circumvent is how Alita fights by instinct the martial art Panzer Kunst, which was developed to fight robots, and thus raised the interest of deities who constantly have to battle machines. She has joined forces with the House of Combat trying to figure out a way to decipher Panzer Kunst and maybe develop lessons to learn it.
  • Has gotten along pretty well with other Robot Girls, Cyborg of the Teen Titans, and also River Tam, who is practically a fully-human version of herself. Alita looks up to KOS-MOS and is recognized by her as a great ally, even if Alita deems her too emotionless.
  • Once Alita saw Calhoun, the armor combined with eyes bigger than regular humans piqued her interest, feeling both could be similar. While not exactly alike (one is a robot, the other a virtual person), they got along and while Calhoun prefers to fight with guns, she has called Alita for help in some missions.
  • In recognition of her Motorball skills, is invited to speed skating competitions at the house of Sports. Alita runs sponsored by The Willy Wonka Candy Company, who upon hearing she liked chocolate offered a supply of Wonka Bars in return for some promotion.
  • Iron Man has offered to support Alita with repairs and extra equipment in return for him to research her tech. She agreed on the condition that Tony doesn't outright turn things into a biopsy (if not an autopsy...).
    • Through his advice, Alita figured out which technological experts of the Pantheon are evil and want to either brainwash Alita into joining their schemes or just kill her to research the parts, and has vowed to keep them away.
  • Is unsure of how to treat ARIA, who thinks Alita's technology could help in mankind's improvement, but is deemed by the cyborg herself as sometimes going too far.
  • Liberion Arcadia could not resist inviting Alita into their ranks. Becoming its second (part-)human member after founding partner Ciel, she has proven a valuable asset to the team.
  • She manages to be be welcome in both the House of Canines (visiting to see some cute dogs or wolves has become a hobby) and Felines (as her manga self becomes sort of a Cat Girl).
  • As if Rorschach's questionable morals and slaughter of dogs already didn't please Alita, the fact he sounds like Grewishka was an extra point to make sure she avoids him.

I've taken care of the things that kept me away and will be getting back into things. It may take some time before I'm caught up able to fully return, though.

I see Gigan now has Blade Below the Shoulder, but Baraka still has that trope. Cannibal Clan is an available trope for Baraka, any objections to giving him that and moving him to Flesh Eaters (or any other house)?

What should be added to the trio?

Manolo Sanchez, Maria Posada and Joaquin Mondragon Jr., The Three Amigos (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

From left to right: Joaquin, Maria holding her pet Chuy, and Manolo

  • Adopted from: Muundeis
  • House: Friendship Dynamics (House of Friendship)
  • Demideities (Joaquin used to be a Lesser God when he had the Medal of Everlasting Life with him)
  • Symbol: A guitar and a sword crossed together (Manolo); Her necklace (Maria); the Medal of Everlasting Life (Joaquin)
  • Theme Song: I Love You Too Much and The Apology Song (Manolo); No Matter Where You Are (Manolo and Maria)
  • Alignment: Neutral Good for both Manolo and Maria; Chaotic Good for Joaquin
  • Portfolio: Freudian Trio, Love Triangle, Single-Target Sexuality, Two Guys and a Girl (the trio), Betty and Veronica, Friendly Rivalry, Sensitive Guy and Manly Man (Manolo and Joaquin), Childhood Friend Romance (Manolo and Maria); Did Not Get the Girl (Joaquin and Maria)
  • Domains: Friendship, Love Triangles, Stories
  • Allies: La Muerte & Xibalba, Hector, Princess Cadance, lot of deities in the House of Love, Zorro, Inigo Montoya, Donald Duck
  • Enemies: Vega, Lysandere, Shinobu Sensui, Handsome Jack
    • Manolo: Matador
    • Maria: Thanos
    • Joaquin: The House of Villains and other supervillains that aren't in that house
  • Respects: The House of Heroes and other superheroes that aren't in that house in general (Joaquin)
  • Two best friends, Manolo and Joaquin were both in love with Maria, which caused La Muerte and Xibalba to make a bet on which boy will successfully marry her. While Maria was studying abroad, Manolo became an excellent bullfighter, but never killed a bull as he aspires to be a musician, and Joaquin became a hero to San Angel thanks to the Medal of Everlasting Life. With Maria's return, this caused the two boys to settle their rivalry once and for all to eventually marry her. Although Manolo won her heart, Xibalba cheated by using a two-headed snake to kill Manolo. Although because his story wasn't finsihed, he was brought back to the dead and fought alongsode with his best friend and love interest to save San Angel form Chakal. After that, Maria chooses to be with Manolo and eventually marry each other, while Joaquin decides to give up the Medal of Everlasting Life, as he learns to be selfless thanks to giving the medal to Joaquin to save himself from performing a Heroic Sacrifice.
  • Their ascencion was heard about by La Muerte and Xibalba, the former being overjoyed to see them. She hopes that Manolo and Maria will continue to find happiness in the Pantheon, and that the same goes for Joaquin which they both appreciated. Manolo still doesn't appreciate Xibalba's way of cheating the bet it seems that he forgive him and the two are now on rather good terms.
  • Being that he also lives in a world where there is a Land of the Dead, they are visited by Hector. The trio were moved and sympathized hearing sbout his story of being murdered whose music was stolen by Ernesto and being disowned by his now alive entire family back in the living land, especially for Manolo, as he thinks that his some of his problems are similar to that of Hector and had been to the Land of the Remembered and the Land of the Forgotten at the time. This caused Hector to easily with Manolo, along with the fact they are both musicians who love to play guitar. The trio hoped that he'll find everlasting happiness along the way.
  • Princess Cadance is happy to here an another happy couple that have ascended. She respects Maria's respectfulness of who Manolo actually is and wants him to be himself. She also is impressed with Manolo's willingness to be with Maria even if it means it might result on death. They are thankful of hearing these kinds of words from here with them hoping she'll have a successful marriage with Shining Armor. She is sad to hear of Joaquin's failure of not getting the woman he loves, but she hopes that he will find someone that matches for him.
    • Following Cadance's statement, a lot of the deities of the House of Love support Manolo and Maria's marriage and are happy that they are happy together. Tey feel bad for Joaquin never getting the lover of his dreams, but they admired the fact he wants her to be happy with the man she loves. They hope that he'll find someone that could make him happy someday.
  • Due to being Spanish, they became allies with fellow Spanish heroes, Zorro and Inigo Montoya, which also helps that they know how to fight specifically with a sword, but Joaquin relates to them the most as they all lose their father at a young age. They try to smoothen relationships between themselves, but so sure there isn't any progress being made.
  • Hearing about their friendship and dynamics, Donald Duck visited them as it reminds him of his friendship with Jose and Panchito. Manolo is somewhat amused to hear that Donald is the only member of the trio that doesn't really sing and Joaquin is impressed at their heroics in a certain universe. They decided to meet Donald from time to time, wanting to hear more about his adventures as a member of the Three Caballeros.
  • Since they value the concept of beauty, they hate Vega due to having a messed-up perception of the concept. Vega easily finds Maria a beautiful person, which heated the antagonism between Manolo and Vega since he and Maria are married.
  • Lysandere and Shinobu Sensui's misantropy causes them to become enemies with them since it is extremely remeniscent of that of Chakal. It doesn't help that they all wanted to destroy the world since this means the entire human race would be in the Land of Forgotten.
  • The way Handsome Jack treats the villagers and seeing them as similar to bandits is what causes them to become enemies. He thinks that they similar to the bandits, which really insulted since they never do evil things in their lives and took great pleasure to protect San Angel.
  • Excluding to Manolo:
    • Matador is ashamed to hear of Manolo not continuing his family legacy of being a bullfighter and aspiring to be a musician, seeing that he is a skilled swordsman and a bullfighter thanks to years of training, only to waste it. In return, Manolo despises him for killing bulls with no consent and it doesn't help that he is not a nice person. Matador usually challenges him to a swordfight to see who is a better fighter, which Manolo refuses every time.
    • Hearing that he is a bullfighter, Blaine Bloodhoof stays away from him, but after hearing that he doesn't want to become one, he decided to visit him. He is suprised at his kindhearted personality, admires his desire to become himself instead of listening his father's wishes, and that when he was forced to kill a 1,000 bulls transformed into a giant bull, he uses a guitar and apologizes to the bull for his family killed ever single one of them. Likewise, Manolo admires his wisdom and that he is not like other bulls he had met in his liferime.
    • The blanks of his story while being dead at the time means that he could change his own fate, causes him to gain allies in thr House of Opposing Fate. He is mostly close with the Nephalems as they are Immune to Fate and because of this, they are ready to take down his enemies.
  • Exclusive to Maria:
    • Is shocked to hear that Gamora has the same voice as her. Gamora is impressed to see that Maria is capable of fighting her own despite being a Proper Lady. Maria is sad to hear of what kind of father Thanos is and how he killed her family and in extension, her own racecl and stated that Thanos makes her father a living saint, causing her to become enemies with him as a result, not helping in that in one incarnation, he wanted to destroy half the universe, and worse, in Earth-616, he wanted to commit genocide to the entire universe to court his Lady Death, which doesn't help her case thanks to how cultured she has become. She is happy to hear that she is notl in alliance with Thanos anymore and hopes that she'll be safe along the way.
      • This is the same case with Neytiri. Neytiri warmed up to her after hearing Maria's desire to not hurt people unless it's necessary. Maria hopes that she could teach Neytiri human values and behaviors while she is in the Pantheon. For Neytiri, hearing about her skills in swordmanship and combat, she hopes that she could teach her in more skills to better defend themselves and wanted her to visit her world when she hears how much she loves animals and nature and how she thinks they deserve freedom.
    • Chun-Li doesn't know what to think of Maria knowing kung-fu because it was stated that in her time period, it was impossible to learn something like that and would be unrealistic. She will say that she is impressed at being able to master a skill like that despite the fact that the reason why Maria stuided abroad is to become a Proper Lady and hoes she'll continue using her skills in the face of danger.
  • Exclusive to Joaquin:
    • Seeing that he is San Angel's hero, he wanted to have a position in the House of Heroes even if he mellowed down, which won't happen anytime soon. He had respect to the House of Heroes and superheroes in general because of their heroics and dedication to their job and wanted to face them with his sword, despite the fact he could easily get injured as he doesn't have the Medal of Everlasting Life. Of course because of this, he hates the House of Villains and supervillains and wanted to face some of them to protect people from danger.
    • As they are both admire heroism and wanted to become one, which Joaquin succeeded at, he bonded with K.O. The child is fascinated upon hearing the Medal of Everlasting Life, but is bummed out upon hearing that he abandoned it. K.O. hopes that he'll strive harder as a hero after losing the medal, as he is now vulnerable to harm, and to continue his duties as one.
    • Joaquin actually loves writing and calligraphy and is pretty skilled at it. Because of this, he becomes fruends with a lot of the writers in the Pantheon, who are impressed with how he writes his letters. Although it's very clear he doesn't want to be a writer, he seems to grt along with them.
  • "No retreat, no surrender!"

Just a sad, lonely girl

@Ferot_Dreadnaught It was agreed a while ago that tropes with multiple categories can have multiple candidates. In the case of Blade Below the Shoulder, Baraka represents permanently-attached blades while Gigan represents blades which replace the hand(s) or arm(s). As such, I think they should stay where they are.

That and Cannibal Clan is suited for a group profile.

I know Baraka is the face of Tarkatans and has other options but the trope allows at least three variables and i insist he should keep Blade Below the Shoulder

So, here is a question

Should we make an argument about the Pantheon being Spoilers Off? Mostly because there is a blatant disregard for spoiler tags in a lot of profile and i think everyone's life would be easier if we were allowed to not have spoiler tags.

What do you think? This is an important question

[up][up] Actually interesting. The main page does warn the reader of potential unmarked spoilers. That said, is it not enough?

[down] Understandable. BTW, a recommendation to make Yuko Asou a High Priestess of Richter.

Reason: The Famicom version of the game was a redesign of the PC-88 version with branching levels, and the Sega Genesis /PC Engine version featured gameplay that was closer to its sequels.

Dunno since so many works are here and spoiling em all is ridiculous.

Also Johnny Turbo having a connection to Richter because they’re exclusives is ridiculous, they don’t even show up in the same console

Standard repost of Gozaburo Kaiba. What more should I add to Abel?

Gozaburo Kaiba, God of Filler Villains

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gozaburo_kaiba_better_quality_6562.png
  • Votes: 2(louisent31, The Wikia Editor)
  • Date of ascension: 17 May(repost 14 May)
  • House: Villainous Roles (House of Villains)
  • Quasideity (Intermediate in the Virtual World)
  • Symbol: The old Kaiba Corp logo
  • Theme Song: This
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Portfolio: Filler Villain Who Had Died In The Manga via Brain Uploading, Killed Himself To Prove The Price Of Failure, Jerkass, Abusive Parents (Knight Templar Parent at best), Archnemesis Dad, Teaching Seto To Be A Corporate Jerk, Big Penalties For Failing Lessons, Cannot Stand To Lose, surprisingly an Honest Corporate Executive
  • Domains: Business, Weapons Dealing, Ruthlessness, Pride, Filler, Digitization
  • Followers: Garlic Jr, Neo BloodClan, Brother Blood
  • Allies: Ghetsis Harmonia, Charles Zi Britannia, Chiaki Hayasaki, Carol/Mom, Sundowner, Morris, Marcus Kincaid, Obadiah Stane
  • Respects: Vergil, Senator Armstrong
  • Enemies: The heroic Yu-Gi-Oh! deities, Seto, Mokuba and Noah Kaiba (his adoptive sons and biological son), The Heroic Protectors of Family, Ochako Uraraka, Charlotte LaBouff, Charlie Bucket, Dr Heinz Doofenschmirtz, Shouto Todoroki, Lelouch and Nunnally Lamperouge, Kevin Flynn, Neo, Ludvig Maxis, Agent Smith, Tony Stark, Serena van der Woodsen, Dan Humphrey
  • Annoyed by: Princess Morbucks, the Reagan twins
  • Gozaburo Kaiba was the adoptive father of Seto and Mokuba Kaiba, and the biological father of Noah Kaiba. When he was in charge, KaibaCorp was an arms manufacturer. He was a ruthless and cruel parent, in order to install a darwinist mindset when it came to business. However the brothers' love for one another proved to be his undoing, and they took the company from him.
  • Gozaburo is in the unique position where he is both a Filler Villain and a canonical character. His suicide was permanent in the manga, his active villainy in the Virtual World was anime-exclusive due to being Spared by the Adaptation. At least, until the virtual world came crashing down with him and Noah in it. Noah, the initial Filler Villain of the Virtual Arc(and unlike Gozaburo a Canon Foreigner), intends to restrain his father from causing much havoc in the pantheon.
  • Planned to fire missiles at the world from the digital plane, or in the dub digitize everyone so he rule the world. Gozaburo wasn't as audacious in the physical world, and having a physical avatar in the pantheon has made him more focused on business. Of course, he keeps his eyes out on digitized heroes and minds so they don't stop any plans of digital conquest he might have. Also Agent Smith, as he is a threat to the very structure of the digital world and everything really.
  • The Heroic Protectors of Family have nothing good to say about his abusive nature, or how he abandoned his son Noah and focused on Seto instead. Shouto Todoroki sees him as the same ruthless father that wants their son to be what they want as his own father Endeavour treated him. Dr Doofenschmirtz is also reminded of his father's abuse. Gozaburo simply replied that they were "soft".
  • Seems to agree with the parenting styles of Ghetsis Harmonia and Charles Zi Britannia. Particularly the latter, given in their own twisted, social darwinist way they believe they were helping their children in life. However Gozaburo doesn't just abuse for the sake of it. He considers Ragyo Kiryuin molesting and disposing of her children "tasteless" as they could be better raised as ruthless as she is. However, he admits she has good business acumen.
  • Has a "might makes right" view on business. While he doesn't apply it outside of business and thinks changing the world through it is a bit audacious, he does respect it. Because of this, he has an appreciation for both Vergil and Senator Armstrong, but it's one-sided. Armstrong's goal of "using the business of war to end war as a business" would go against the elder Kaiba's corporate plans, and Vergil doesn't respect him for being an abusive father.
  • While a corporate jerk, Gozaburo is surprisingly not a Corrupt Corporate Executive. He was honest, albeit unpleasant and part of the morally dubious field of arms dealing. The "double dealings" were actually Dartz in disguise. He dismisses the actions of Mr Burns as nothing but Cartoonish Supervillainy. Not that this makes him any more likeable, but it's something.
  • Has no respect for Princess Morbucks or the Reagan twins. Sure, he's a rich jerk, but he's a rich jerk who makes his way through hard work. He doesn't like spoiled brats, which is why he gave up on Noah as that made him unfit for the company. He even went so far as to jump out a window when Seto bought out the company, all as a means of proving the price of failure.
  • On the other hand, various hardworking economic figures dislike him because of how ruthless he is and his un-empathetic means of staying on top. However, there is one rich girl he does seem to like-Chiaki Hayasaki. This is because of her Reason being set towards social darwinism and might makes right, even if she is a Hypocrite. Of course, Gozaburo sees this as merely a sign that her training isn't complete and will help her with it.
  • Is business partners with Marcus Kincaid and Sundowner. While he could call the latter out for relying on flashy techniques, but given in his duel with Seto he only used Exodia Necross he's not in a position to chastise him. He has also been making deals with Carol/Mom, and gets along with Morris since they're totally ruthless businessmen, but convinced they're doing the best for the company.
  • Hopes to gain Serena van der Woodsen's wealth, believing that it's wasted in someone like her. Her husband sure as hell isn't letting that happen. He's rallied everyone in the Gossip Girl community against Gozaburo, and in response he's using his resources to discover Gossip Girl's identity. Fortunately, Dan is good at covering his tracks.
  • Used to be the world's greatest chess player until Seto beat him. He's pretty confident that he can still beat the other chess players in the pantheon, and will accept gambles and wages through it. Lelouch's skill at the game and the fact he ended up beating him much like Seto did is one of the factors on why Gozaburo hates him.

Abel, God of Envied Successful Siblings (The First Martyr, Hābīl, Infernal Guinea Pig, Bree Garland, SCP-076-2, Able)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/abel_1.jpg
Abel as depicted in DC Vertigo
  • Adopted from: The Wikia Editor
  • House: Siblings (House of Family)
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The stone used to bludgeon him
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (usually)
  • Portfolio: Public Domain Character, The Original Abel, First Being To Be Killed In Biblical Lore, considered Too Good for This Sinful Earth, Rightly Self-Righteous, Prefers Meat Sacrifices, Responsible Sibling To Cain's Foolish Sibling, Successful Sibling Syndrome
  • Domains: Shepherds, Religious Figures, Meat, Sources of Envy, Death, Victims
  • Worships: God (includes The Alpha and Omega, God(God, the Devil and Bob), The Love That Moves The Stars)
  • Interests: Those of the Abrahamic faith
  • Allies: Kazuya Minegishi (his reincarnation), Mufasa, Yu Narukami, Dream of the Endless, The Cryptkeeper, Steve Irwin, Jonathan Joestar, Kenny McCormick, Luigi, Carl and Ada Clover, Lina and Rylai, Switzerland
  • On speaking terms with: SCP-073 (Alternate Self of Cain)
  • Enemies: Cain (usually), Vandal Savage, The SCP Foundation, Scar, YHVH, Lucifer(Supernatural), Shinji Matou, Dio Brando, Oryx
  • Opposes: Swim Swim, Kane, Naoya and those who've committed fratricide
  • Annoyed by: Lord Byron
  • According to the The Bible, the first children born were Cain and Abel. Cain was a farmer and Abel a shepherd. Abel was favored over Cain by God with his sacrifices, giving meat compared to Cain's vegetables. This would lead to Cain's jealously for his brother reaching a boiling point, bludgeoning Abel to death with a rock. Thus Abel is thought to be the first person to die, and the first murder victim.
  • With very rare exceptions, he does not get along with Cain since he murdered him. The fact they share the same sub-house has make this even worse. He certainly doesn't get along with Vandal Savage, who may or may not be Cain and is as murderous as the worst of his brother. Kane and Naoya don't want to restart antagonism towards him, but he doesn't trust them either. SCP-073, having become a much nicer person since killing Abel, took the effort to bury the hatchet with Abel.
  • The only time Cain and Abel really get along is in 70's DC Comics' horror comics, serving as dual horror hosts. But even then, Cain devolves into constantly murdering Abel in the Dreaming, though only because it's in Cain's nature. He does not take someone else killing Cain kindly. That incarnation has come to sympathize with Kenny as they keep getting killed. The Cryptkeeper, a fellow Horror Host, is able to get them to behave for a bit.
  • Because of how he died, Abel is opposed to those who murdered or seek to murder their sibling. While he might have sympathy if the reason they were very reluctant to do so or it was an act of self-defense, he has no mercy for those like Scar. Also, while Shinji Matou never killed his adoptive sister, he did horribly abuse and rape her which gets him on Abel's shit list. Dio is high on Abel's shit list due to his aggressive relationship with his adoptive brother Jonathan Joestar, topped by not just killing him but also hijacking his body. Add to all the other awful things he did, of course.
  • Regarding fratricide, he's disgusted and disturbed by Oryx and the Hive Gods, as they're frequent practitioners in family betrayal and murder as a form of love. Even being expected practice throughout the Hive, none of the deaths they inflict on each are "true" because of Resurrective Immortality, and that it helps them grow stronger in accordance to their philosophy, Abel doesn't forgive it one bit. It's still utterly alien to hear that Oryx laughed with his sister after she blew up an entire moon just to get to him, and also went hellbent on wiping humanity from the face of existence when they slayed his son.
  • Sympathetic towards Jonathan Joestar towards the shit that Dio put him through, and Mufasa due to his brother murdering him. In contrast to those guilty of fratricide, Abel respects siblings that get along and want to look out for each other, such as Switzerland, Yu Narukami and the Clover siblings. Abel's proud to see that Lina and Rylai still love each other dearly despite their rivalry, and while under his brother's shadow Luigi remains devoted to Mario.
  • Prefers meat when at the pantheon's cafeteria, and good at shepherding livestock. He likes Steve Irwin as he's a kind soul who knows how to treat animals well. Believed to be the first martyr by some of Christian tradition, Jesus considered him "righteous". As such, he doesn't care for Swim Swim since unlike him she had what was coming to her when she was killed.
  • The Jews, Christians and Muslims in the pantheon have asked him if he knows what's with the multiple incarnations of God in the pantheon and why He preferred his sacrifice of meat over Cain's sacrifice of vegetables. Abel hasn't figured out that for himself, but believes the reason his sacrifice was preferred has to do with one of the following; it was a Secret Test of Character for Cain that he failed at, God disliked Cain's thoughts of envy or Abel put more effort and more of his supply into the sacrifice.
  • In the Dreaming, Abel has immortality which only allows Cain to kill him daily. Marvel Comics has him living with Cain in Cleveland's Boarding House of Mystery, brain-damaged because of "an unfortunate accident in their adolescence". They let Howard the Duck and Beverly stay when they have no money. Devil Survivor has it that he was reincarnated as Kazuya Minegishi. It turns out that YHVH planned for Cain to kill Abel to make him a martyr. This and His later actions didn't sit well with Abel.
  • Usually seen as the victim and Cain the unwarranted aggressor. Mormonism is even of the belief that the priesthood among the ancients was passed down from him, and he was ordained by his father Adam. The extra-biblical Book of Enoch his soul was appointed the chief of martyrs, crying for vengeance and the destruction of the seed of Cain. The Testament of Abraham raised him to the position of the judge of souls. The Coptic Book of Adam and Eve and the Syriac Cave of Treasures, state his body was placed in the Cave of Treasures, before which his parents and descendants offered their prayers. The Sethite line of the Generations of Adam swear by Abel's blood to segregate themselves from the unrighteous. How they'd react to Sam and Dean Winchester being both his and Cain's descendants remains to be seen.
  • Some find Abel less sympathetic; Lord Byron argues Abel was symbolic of a sanguine temperament, and Cain killed him for his hypocrisy and sanctimony. Naturally, Abel doesn't care for Byron's assessment. Supernatural stipulates it was because he was talking to Lucifer and Cain wanted to avoid his brother being corrupted, sending him to Heaven. Seeing what that incarnation of Lucifer would go on to do, it was a good call.
  • Lucifer (2016) posits that Abel was a Casanova Wannabe and an Asshole Victim; they both tried to kill each other, Cain was just the better fighter. His soul went to an Ironic Hell of partying and trying to get laid, only for Cain to kill him, which would endlessly repeat. He managed to get a body and ultimately reconciled with Cain, before dying shortly afterwards and going to Heaven. At least it's better than Abel's SCP incarnation, a respawning Humanoid Abomination known as SCP-076-2 or Able who's mind is full of violence and tries to kill everyone he can. He looks a lot like Gilgamesh in this form.
