Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Theme Song: 2019 Guy
  • Alignment: Neutral Good though pretends to be True Neutral.
  • Portfolio: Badass Baritone, Height Angst, Deadpan Snarker, The Stoic, Memetic Badass, Looks Like Jesus, Author Appeal, Big Ol' Eyebrows, Black Comedy, Vulgar Humor, Sir Swears-a-Lot, Sophisticated as Hell
  • Domains: Commentary, Vulgarity, Voices
  • High Priest: The Fine Brothers (much to his dismay)
  • Followers: BlastphamousHD, BSL's Reaction Asylum, Lost Pause, Rarity Dash, Reaction & Review
  • Allies:
  • Rivals: Celestia Ludenberg
  • Enemies: Terraformers, Stefan Richter, Chin Chin, Borg Queen, SKYNET, Hal 9000
  • Respected by: Gudako
  • Charles White, otherwise known as Cr1TiKaL is a man of many talents. Professional Youtuber, Human Sciences graduate, world record holder, aspiring voice actor and musician, resident Hentai enthusiast, Ass Shove extraordinaire, and expert on nipples. He is best known for his commentary and reviews, all done with a dry wit that would put the coldest of desserts to shame. Charlie would find himself booted to the Pantheon upon the Court of the Gods realizing that his declaration of being in the genre of Reaction Videos makes him the most respectable and viable person to take this trope. Not that he really wanted to ascend, so he treats it like he treats awards: with pure indifference.
  • Called up several of his fellow Youtubers who had ascended and asked them why the hell they didn’t mention this “exclusivity club” deal they had. If they didn’t give a good answer, then Charlie would have to go cancel them and maybe kill them. All of his allies told him that the Pantheon really pushes them to do more charity fundraising, which Charlie refuses to do after becoming disillusioned with the process. He had then considered that a satisfying answer, then proceeded to murder them all... in Among Us. How many times can he win someone before making some Rage Quit?
  • Is extremely respected amongst the online space as a whole, to the point his word rivals that of influential figures like IdubbbzTV and Pewds despite having a much smaller fanbase in comparison. Helps that he is a realist and takes almost everything with a grain of salt and sensibility. Unless something hits him in the dick, he’d react to everything with the same deadpan attitude.
  • Honestly quite amazed that he met Killer Bean, from a property that Charlie had particularly raised awareness of. Killer Bean notes that Charlie sounds just like Kessler, a former Shadow Bean agent. Charlie could only sheepishly give him an explanation to that.
  • Noted to look a lot like John Wick. He also appears to look like Jesus when he has shoulder-length hair. Charlie is friends with John Wick here since he actually enjoys his films. They don’t hang out often as Charlie had an unfortunate Noodle Incident where an enemy of Wick mistook him for the former hitman and tried gunning him down.
  • Strange obsession with penises, nipples, vagina-scented candles, and sex toys. Plenty of sex toys. Mr. Slave is a fan of his over these aspects of him and has offered Charlie to review his own... belongings. Charlie took them all to heart.
  • His favorite game of all time is Psychonauts, so it makes his meeting with that game’s protagonist all the more meaningful. asked Rasputin if he could scan him while he takes a dump so he would truly study how those with a scat fetish (since he has a degree in social sciences after all). Rasputin obviously, said no.
  • Not really fond of his followers, as he considers the bulk of reaction content really shitty. This includes the React series, which he deems you must have a very low standards in life to enjoy. Charlie isn’t willing to say most of his content is outside of theirs, though he still considers his commentary being much more transformative than what they have. Plus, he actually does stuff other than watch videos all day, which are his reviews, unboxing, streams, and occasional music videos.
  • Generally surprised stuff from City of Heroes is in the Pantheon, which he thought he was one of the few that remembered that game. In fact, there is a lot of stuff that he even has heard of a semblance about ended up here. It’s honestly pretty overwhelming.
Charlie: Can this place get fucking weirder!?
Felix: You get used to it.
  • Can be seen getting a helluva lot of cards from different series, spending thousands of dollars to find the rarest cards in a deck and showing them off. Sound familiar? Charlie still refuses to see he has an addiction. Gudako implored Charlie to continue his card opening, as eventually he will go down the road to Gatcha Hell like she has.
  • Adores Saitama and Genos, highly acclaiming their anime... until the second season which he deemed if it weren’t for the writing already in the manga, was absolutely dogshit. He also likes the first season Attack on Titan more than the latter ones, as well as (what is extremely controversial opinion), choosing the Hamon parts over the Stand parts. Charlie would like to take those who can’t take other opinions have their lips reach their asshole, if they really wanted to talk shit towards him.
  • Acclaimed for his role in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay where he gave the most powerful performance ever as a District 8 medic during his less than a second frame of his arm. Charlie would have probably rallied all the Districts together and murdered Snow if given the chance. Felt very much shocked that Katniss didn’t remember him out of the sea of rebels. Regardless, she’s friends with anyone who helped out against Snow.
  • If there is one thing in the world Charlie hates, it’s Creepy Cockroaches. The bugs freak him out and can render that cool image of himself into a terrified mess. So come the Terraformers, giant buff cockroaches and you can do the math. Charlie then proceeded to stockpile of as much bug spray as he could to make sure the Terraformers don’t even near his House. Not his temple, the House he is stationed at.
  • Surprised about Chin Chin somehow making it here, though felt like he shouldn’t be since he is aware of how multiverse theory works (or omniverse theory in this case). Chin Chin despises whoever is a friend of Frank, and then sent Charlie to a universe where men are drained of semen to power a tyrannical robot society. Being a man, Charlie’s penis has never felt the same since quote, “got milked.” He was rescued eventually after humans stopped the robot uprising, though came not only to have a certain hatred towards Chin Chin for putting him through that, but genocidal robotic entities in general.
  • Since had enough cards to go full-on competitive, Charlie decided to play the cards he paid thousands for against others. He was doing fairly well once he got the games down, but then came Celeste—his Arch-Enemy in the card scene. She brutalized him on every match, going as far as beating him in UNO several times over. Charlie has yet to beat her but with his determination, vowed at least one victory. Celeste wants to see how far this man would go until she brings him to Despair Event Horizon after making him lose over and over again.
  • Can be seen screaming in joy whenever something good happens. Though for actually context, he’s sarcastically cheering for a toy unicorn taking a shit. Though if his cheering would bring some sort of damn positivity to the world, he better be the damn finest cheerer across the continent.
  • Yes, he lives in Florida. He would like to confirm that Florida... is everything that everyone else perceives it as and then some. Charlie wishes he could experience what the infamous Florida Men were on because stuff he hears are wild to put it lightly.
  • “Well, that's the end of this profile. Remember to rate the profile, comment the profile, and trope if you want to see profiles similar to this one. See ya.”

Rarity, Goddess of Fashion Designers (Marshmallow, Radiance, Diamante Elegante)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rarity_5.png
Rarity in the Distant Finale
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: Her Cutie Mark (three diamonds)
  • Theme Song: "Becoming Popular" (The Pony Everypony Should Know) and "Generosity"
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Fashion Designer for art's sake, getting into fights despite it, loving her sweet cat Opal, doing stuff for others first, having an obsession with cleanliness, Attention Whore With A Heart of Gold, Self-Made Mare, Feels Good Doing Good, Makes elaborate dresses encrusted in gems, Dramatic over minor things, Girly Bruiser, realizes her own mistakes without others pointing it out, occasional Skewed Priorities, benevolent Social Climber
  • Domain: Fashion, Gems, Generosity
  • Heralds: Opalescence, her Persian cat (Opal for short), Sassy Saddles (manager of the Canterlot Branch, Canterlot Carousel), and Coco Pommel (head of the Manehatttan Branch, Rarity For You), Sandbar and Yona (inheritors of Carousel Boutique in the future?)
  • Followers: Bronies, Topaz, Jacobim Mugata, Madame Sharn, Matilda King
  • Allies:
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Gangrel and Luna Vachon
  • Enemies: Nightmare Moon, Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Lord Tirek, Grogar, BROKEN Matt Hardy, Junko Enoshima, Ragyo Kiryuin, Nui Harime
  • Opposed by: The Houyhnhnms
  • Is horrified by the House of Commerce (and has left it), with the possible exception of Jem and Charlotte LaBouff. As such, she spends most of her time here, or in the House of Personal Appearance. She provides clothes to those who are both deserving and are in greatest need (or pay her well, usually in favors owed, or truly exotic fabrics and other materials) throughout the Pantheon. It helps that her temple is a copy of her home/store Carousel Boutique.
    • Having been among the first deities to arrive here in its early days, the rush to ascend the Mane Six in response to Discord's presence (back when he was still evil) shafted her with the tropes All-Natural Gem Polish and Gem-Encrusted. While gems are what she works with, it's not what defines her. What does define her though—in terms of tropes at least—is her career as a fashion designer. As such, she has moved once more, this time in the House of Costumes. And as a House guardian, too; a privilege among the Mane Six shared by Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.
  • Uryu Ishida once challenged her to a sewing contest, and Rarity was quite surprised that she lost by a huge margin, since she had never realized that the contest was being judged on technical skill and difficulty, rather than the attractiveness of the results. Both parties readily agreed that neither had any ability or desire to challenge the other in their own facet of the sewing arts.
  • Still "Just Friends" with Spike, much to his chagrin. And despite some efforts by shippers in the House of Love to hook them up (or hook her up with Applejack or any other friend of hers), she has not changed her stance, though she's come to treat him like a little brother.
  • Would like to remind everyone that she is "not whining" but "complaining." Whatever you do, do NOT give her the chance to whine as she will reply, "But I thought you wanted whining!"
    • Amazingly, she actually found that someone in the House of Combat also copied this tactic. Said God? John Cena. There was a bit of silence when she heard what he sounded like. Three seconds later, she was rolling on the floor laughing and quickly asking if she could design some new shirts for him in purple.
      • It turns out, Rarity is actually a huge wrestling fan and even has her own wrestling name called "Diamante Elegante" and was capable of easily defeating two wrestlers all by herself. It does make her reactions to her sister and the other Crusaders being friends with two vampire wrestlers — later the New Day — to be more hilarious now.
  • Compared to other unicorns, who usually rely on their magic to do the heavy lifting, on top of wresting, Rarity is quite capable hoof-to-hoof, and is exceptionally strong for her race (still pales in comparison to her other physical-oriented friends), being able to drag large carts of gems with ease, and carry a rock twice her size on her back. By the end of the series, she's become a Jack of All Trades in terms of combat with a few extra laser blast and barrier spells.
    • In terms of telekinesis, while her lifting limit pales compared to Twilight, not even the Spirit of Magic can telekinetically manipulate multiple small objects with as much precision as Rarity does, mostly for dressmaking supplies.
  • Befitting the Element of Generosity, Rarity is really good at reading most people (that thing with Prince Blueblood was more of a willing blindness before she was eventually pushed too far by him), and shows a much more profound ability to catch on when she is being callous or inconsiderate to someone by herself, compared to her friends who usually need to be handed An Aesop after their actions have already spiralled out of control.
    • This is justified in that her job as a fashion designer requires her to both be observant of minute details and form a quick and accurate judgment of someone's personality.
  • For your own good, never speak of Tom the Boulder in her presence or of her initial "infatuation" for him.
  • Has politely suggested that the Princesses might wish to wear a tad more clothing whenever they are actually IN the House of Beast, so that nobody gets confused about their intelligence levels.
  • Is usually seen designing clothes in her own shop, the Carousel Boutique. Other times, she's trying to make sure her little sister isn't getting into trouble. Again.
    • However, upon learning of Sweetie Belle obtaining her cutie mark, Rarity was shown bursting into tears on how her sister has grown up.
    • Samurai Jack often visits her shop to have her mend or replace his clothes, and she seems to enjoy listening to whatever story he has for how it happened this time.
    • As of late, just as she now has at least two additional branches of her Boutique in Canterlot and Manehattan, Rairty hopes to expand her franchise in the Pantheon as well, each hosted by certain followers of hers. Her time in the Pantheon has given her experiences with several body types. Pony, little dragon, human, it matters not; if someone can wear clothing, she can make clothes for them, and if she can't, she can learn how until she can.
    • Eventually, after helping ascend Millie Collins, she thought it was necessary to establish an official organization in the name of fashion. It was decreed in a joint effort by the Houses of Costumes, Commerce, and Profession to create a pantheonic fashion industry (named Dressed for Divinity), where fashion deities can come together to recreate trends of old, or start completely new ones, and show them for the world to see.
  • Gets along well with Charlotte LaBouf, who shares her ideals of finding a prince charming of her own and consoled Rarity over the Grand Galloping Gala incident with Prince Blueblood. Rarity has also helped design dresses for Charlotte, who in turn has also given away many of the dresses to girls so that "we all can be princesses".
  • She has a very dark secret. She wears FALSE EYELASHES!
  • Befriended the zombie-girl Squigly over their mutual friendship with Spike, similar personalities, tastes, and love of baths. Rarity has even gone so far as to make new combat-capable dresses for Squigly to wear, stating that, even undead, a lady needs to look her best at all times, especially in battle.
  • Was given her ultimate task by GUAG; recreating Senketsu with required Life Fibers. Even though they were used to make combat clothing in its own universe, it was still a difficult task for Rarity because of the unknown material. But after weeks of trial and error, Rarity was able to bring Senketsu back to life. She also made him Better Than New with the ability to change his form to any other clothing. She also added some gems on his scarf.
  • Her brony fans have been petitioning her to fight Shen Gaoren for some inane reason. She sees no reason to entertain this notion.
  • Months after Nightmare Moon first ascended to the Pantheon, an unknown deity managed to remove her from Princess Luna completely… only for it to be plunged into Rarity, turning her into Nightmare's second coming. A fierce skirmish between Nightmare and her allies against Luna, Celestia, the remainder of the Mane Six, Spike, and all of their friends (including some gods whose followers were Equestrians), which eventually became a skirmish between forces in the Grand United Alliances of Good and Evil. Eventually, the Nightmare was purged, and Rarity was saved.
  • One day, a young doe named Velvet approached Rarity while she was at work in her boutique and begrudgingly asked for a round in combat. After an unspecified prodding of a Berserk Button, the two engaged in combat, with Rarity forced to use her sewing supplies and gems in conjunction with her own martial arts to counter Velvet's ice magic. Rarity has since refused to go into further detail regarding the aftermath, other than that it was like fighting a "dark mirror" version of herself.
  • Somehow, she can play a few moments with a intense metal guitar solo on an acoustic guitar. The House of Music is baffled by this feat.
  • While she doesn't really like the "dark broodiness" of the vampire wrestlers Gangrel and Luna Vachon, she does thank them for keeping an eye on her sister after the "Asylum incident". The same can't be said for BROKEN Matt Hardy. At first, she thought it was a crazy gimmick that he made up and even help design his wardrobe... and then he sent her sister to Limbo. The only thing she could say to that was, "I'LL DESTROY HIM!". Is now teaming up with Gangrel and Luna Vachon to take him down.
    • As time passed, the Crusaders have realized that they no longer need the vampire wrestlers and have decided to move on. Fortunately, Rarity was relieved that The New Day have decided to help keep an eye on the trio and is more than willing to help design new outfits for them.

Anyone finished reading Shin Mazinger Zero?

Kouji Kabuto and Tetsuya Tsurugi, God of Rocket Punches and Chest Blasters (Kouji: The First Mechajock, Tommy Davis, Lance Hyatt, Alcor, Ryo Kabuto, Carlos Caribe, Kouji Kabruto, Crazy Kabuto | Tetsuya: Tatsu)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Kabuto-Kouji_9721.jpg
Kouji
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Tsurugi-Tetsuya_5113.jpg
Tetsuya
  • Returning to and New House: Weaponized Appendages
  • Intermediate Gods
  • Symbol: The heads of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger
  • Theme Songs: Mazinger Z, Fire Wars, and Kanjite Knight (Kouji), Ore wa Great Mazinger (Tetsuya)
  • Alignment: Between Chaotic Good and Neutral Good, though Kouji leans closer to the latter than Tetsuya
  • Portfolio: Bash Brothers, Badass Biker, Idiotic Moments Out Of Pride, Combat Pragmatist, Reckless Attacker (Much Moreso For Tetsuya), Hot Blooded Sideburns, Red Tetsuya, Blue Kouji, Belligerent Sexual Tension With Their Partners, Made of Iron, Hurting Hero, Conveniently an Orphan, Would Hit a Girl
  • Domains: Giant Robots, Hot Blood, Battle
  • Heralds: Shiro Kabuto (Kouji's brother), Kenzo Kabuto (Kouji's birth father and Tetsuya's foster father) and the rest of the Fortress of Science, Minerva X
  • Allies:
  • Odd Friendship: Hello Kitty (Kouji)
  • Rival: Asuka Langley Soryu/Shikinami (both)
  • Enemies: Those who desire to destroy or Take Over the World,
  • In the early days of the Pantheon, Kouji Kabuto was ascended into the Pantheon to represent the tropes Rocket Punch and Chest Blaster, two of Mazinger Z's most prominent weapons, and since his series is the maker of those tropes. However, he was cast into Purgatory for his time as Duke Fleed's sidekick, and was originally tasked to make himself better via Shin Mazinger, but someone forgot that Mazinkaiser happened, as well as his highly-extensive track record of combat against extraterrestrial threats outside the usual suspects, side by side with Duke Fleed himself (or even without him) AND as an equal or someone greater instead of sidekick and was quickly readmitted. Thankfully, there's no bad blood between them, with both looking forward for their next team-up against evil.
  • And thus there's a lot of rejoicing by various Robot Pilots, as the Holy Trinity of Super Robot Wars is now complete. Mazinger Z, or Mazinkaiser, whichever one Kouji pilots, are known to be utter beasts in battle on the side of justice, especially with their mighty Rocket Punch (or Turbo Smasher Punch) and Breast Fire (or Fire Blaster). Evil beware.
  • Things got even better when Tetsuya Tsurugi, the closest thing he has to a big brother figure, arrived in the Pantheon under the tropes Orphan's Ordeal and Conveniently an Orphan due to exemplifying the burdens and emotional baggage that he's been through, which has shaped his character, good and bad. As far as Kouji is concerned, this means more than empowering his attack below, he's just happy that a friend/(technically) family member he truly trusts entered the Pantheon.
    • However, a re-evaluation of his trope required Tetsuya to leave or be transferred. Kouji offered his foster brother a place by his side, which he accepted.
  • Applies to both:
    • Together with his allies at the Photoatomic Research Institute, Kouji defended Japan against the forces of Dr. Hell, who sent Robobeast after Robobeast to destroy the Institute and acquire the Japanium underneath, which could be made into Super Alloy Z, which is what Mazinger Z was made of, and which was what Dr. Hell desired so he can make an ultimate Robobeast to Take Over the World.
    • However, even after Dr. Hell was vanquished once and for all, that wasn't the end of the war. As it was, Dr. Hell had made a pact with Archduke Gorgon of the Mycenae Empire. And with the former's defeat, Gorgon let his Emperor know and that's when they made their move and deployed their Warbeasts. These proved too much even for Mazinger Z, but not for Great Mazinger, whose benefactor decided now was the time to step in and save the day.
    • With Mazinger Z out of commission, Kouji (alongside Sayaka) was sent off to America to study under Professor Watson, where they would take part in new research. And Tetsuya would take over as Japan's protector.
    • However, after 52 episodes, the Fortress of Science found itself in huge trouble, and Dr. Gennosuke Yumi made the call to send Kouji back. With the Mazinger Z fully repaired by then (and powerful enough to take on Warbeasts one-on-one as well), he was soon able to return the favor he owed to Tetsuya last year and forced the enemy to retreat.
    • That said, their first cooperative mission since the Warbeasts' debut didn't start smoothly, with Tetsuya being more impulsive than Kouji, probably from "orphan angst" given his director is Kouji's father, which makes more sense in a Japanese perspective compared to a Western one. Of course, he eventually got over that thanks to Kenzo talking him out of it.
    • While extremely capable in combat, both Mazingers possess three main weaknesses:
      • They're reliant on their pilots to move, which leads to the enemy attacking Kouji and Tetsuya out of the mechas.
      • The Hover/Jet/Kaizer Pilder and Brain Condor has to combine to their respective Mazingers, leading to the enemy often trying to keep them from docking.
      • Even with upgrades to fight underwater, their mobility there is crap, which is frequently exploited by the enemy.
    • As their series is one of the progenitors of the Super Robot genre, they of course found allies in those who also codified the trope or followed their footsteps, such as the Super Sentai, the Ultramen, the Power Rangers, and so on.
    • While Kouji tends to be pretty headstrong when it comes to fighting, he's still able to think strategically, come up with plans quickly, and can actually be talked into retreating. For Tetsuya however, the last option is a much harder option for him to even consider (and the only thing that convinced him was of Kenzo once threatening to revoke his rights as Great Mazinger's pilot… permanently).
    • Unlike most Humongous Mecha pilots, Kouji and Tetsuya didn't have exclusive Finishing Moves, instead using any of their available weapons at random.
    • Both have had interesting interactions with EVA Pilot Asuka:
      • Though she and Kouji do not quite get along, he has made very clear that she is a fellow pilot, ergo, he will not put up with someone trying to harm her. Similarly, Asuka has asked him to help Shinji grow a spine and teach him how properly romance Tsunderes, but she refused to explain why.
      • With his Pride issues, some noted that Tetsuya and Asuka are a lot like one another, though she begrudgingly respects Great's pilot, especially after some of the times he punched out Arael or those Mass Produced EVA's together with other pilots before the infamous Mind Rape or the horrific overkill, averting those fates.
      • He hates "Separated at birth" jokes about him and Asuka, but after hearing about Asuka's poor excuse of a father and step-mother, he has taken her under his wing, sometimes acting as a protective big brother.
    • Both Kouji and Tetsuya have received approval of Khorne for their fighting prowess, warrior spirit, courage, determination (for Kouji), and anger and Blood Lust (for Tetsuya). Kouji was pretty disgusted and Tetsuya was sickened and angry for getting a Chaos God's approval, but their main reactions were an emphatic (for Kouji)/spiteful (for Tetsuya) "Meh!".
    • Even if he's not in the Pantheon proper, after Kouji's return, he has also gained the ability to summon the spirits and apparitions of Duke Fleed and the Grendizer. When the spirits come together, and his other friends Tetsuya and Ryoma are nearby with any Getter Robo incarnations, Kouji is able to invoke one of the more powerful attacks of the GUAG Robot War Division: The Final Dynamic Special.

  • Exclusive to Kouji:
    • Unlike most robot pilots back then and long after, his first foray as a robot pilot…wasn't the best, and his initial inexperience was plain to see. It's only thanks to Mazinger's weaponry and armor, as well as his own adaptability, that he was able to survive long enough to learn the ropes and become the legend he is today.
    • Just because he's a mecha pilot doesn't mean he's helpless off of it. Prior to inheriting the Mazinger Z, he was a delinquent, and that meant he was rough on the streets. He's even effortlessly beaten several Iron Masks/Crosses that have attacked him and his friends multiple times (though in the manga, he almost died from three of them the first time before a BigDamnHeroes moment saved him). He also has a ray blaster for ground combat.
      • And come the Shin Mazinger timeline, there's a whole armory's worth of ray weaponry and Chogokin Z-made blades also made by his grandpa Juzo Kabuto in their shared temple.
    • His time spent in Purgatory eventually helped Kouji's… um… lack of tact, especially around women, esepcially after he finally fully remembered his Character Development in Great Mazinger.
    • He tries his best to keep innocents out of the line of fire in his battles against foes, even if there are too many he can't due to not being on the scene in time. He still remembers the time where a poacher's dog ended up as a casualty and her owner beat him up blind for it (though because the enemy then killed one of the dog's puppies and framed Kouji for it). He detests those who frame others for the same reason.
    • It doesn't matter how weak or frail one's mecha is; if they're able to fight and not get themselves killed doing so, Kouji will be proud to call them an ally. Boss and his Boss Borot and the numerous times they've saved Kouji and his friends proved that to him.
    • Kouji dislikes those who use cybernetic soldiers robbed of their soul, given that these are what the Iron Mask/Iron Cross Soldiers he's fought are like. Same goes for those who raise the dead, since that's where Dr. Hell gets his Iron Mask/Iron Cross soldiers from.
    • During his tenure as Duke Fleed's sidekick, Kouji also had Maria Grace Fleed as a Love Interest (though he didn't seem to be aware of it), which eventually sunk when Duke and Maria had to depart to their homeworld to rebuild it after the Final Battle.
    • In regards to how he got Mazinkaiser, it's from an alternate timeline where during a battle against Dr. Hell's Robobeasts (alongside Tetsuya), his Hover Pilder got separated as Mazinger Z itself was stolen, and the Pilder automatically took him to a secret base by his grandfather. Apparently, Juuzo had been making a Super Robot superior even to his son's project Great Mazinger, and is made of Z Alpha alloy. However, controlling it was much more difficult and came at great risk if used incorrectly. Of course, like with Mazinger Z, Kouji eventually mastered its use. And it also comes with its own Scrander, the Kaizer Scrander
    • Being a surprisingly superb chef in the Shin Mazinger timeline, he gets along with the House of Food marvelously. Often he visits the place to trade recipes and tips. General consensus is his food is delicious, not matter how ridiculous it looks. Shinji Ikari frquently asks him for culinary tips.
    • Ever since a trio (or more) of assassin android girls tried to do him in in several timelines outside his main animé one, Kouji is slow to trust all robot girls, though he eventually got to trust the ones in the GUAG.
    • (covering Shin Mazinger Zero)
    • Thanks to his adventures in Super Robot Wars, it has been known that Kouji has somehow tamed one of the most dangerous Mazingers ever, complete with deadly Rocket Punch and Chest Blaster known to man, even rivaling the Mazinkaiser. It used to be a reality-destroying abomination bent on destroying all worlds until it's the only Super Robot in existence, but Kouji tamed it nonetheless. Its name is… ITS NAME IS… Mazinger ZERO.
    • Speaking of Shin Mazinger Zero, he's been told by his grandfather before he died that whoever pilots Mazinger-Z has the potential to become a god or a devil. As that timeline loops show, this is NOT an exaggeration. If not piloted at all or by someone dominated by negative emotions, Mazinger Z will evolve into an Eldritch Abomination with world-destroying power.
      • Because of that, it's imperative that nothing else so much as makes contact with the head in place of the Pilders.

  • Exclusive to Tetsuya:
    • Tetsuya's no stranger to harsh training even in childhood, since that's what he got from Kenzo in his youth when he was adopted. He had hated it back then, but it helped him become a great pilot for the Great Mazinger, and presumably he also learned how to fight on foot from this training, too.
    • Tetsuya once had a fairly traumatic childhood incident that he managed to forget about (though the fear and pain of it still remained). That memory was of his childhood friend Saburo, who owned a canary while Tetsuya had a hawk. His hawk had attacked Saburo while trying to eat the canary and had blinded him as a result. Tetsuya had blamed himself for it like crazy. He had since managed to get over it enough that it doesn't hamper his combat ability,
    • The reason why Tetsuya didn't step in until the Warbeasts were beating up Mazinger Z was because of orders from Dr. Kenzo Kabuto (who was Faking the Dead, having been turned into a cyborg by his father, and didn't want his children to know the truth at the time), and because they were training for the fated day of the Mycenae Empire's resurgence.
    • Just like Kouji, Tetsuya is no slouch in ground combat, being very proficient in shooting.
    • Besides improved versions of Mazinger Z's weapons, Great Mazinger has the Thunder Break (which can be fired at a weaker charge to break someone out of hypnosis), a Great Boomerang, and even summon a sword (Mazinger Blade, and in twos even).
    • While Great Mazinger already has wings, there's also a Jet Booster that Tetsuya can attach his mech to for even faster flying. It's also able to "launch" itself out of Great to fire rays at and ram into enemies to finish them off.
    • Is very wary of voodoo magic, given one Warbeast put a curse on him and duped Boss into doing the same.
    • Knows what it's like to have a crush on one's teacher, having been the same once, complete with heartbreak after she got married and stopped teaching.
    • While he hadn't appear much in a while, Tetsuya was also known as one of the great stalwarts of the Super Robot Wars, though not as much as Kouji, but he's always ready to fight evil wherever they come. Some say that Tetsuya was humbled after a certain event that he willingly lets Kouji get all the glory, or used himself as a testing bed to see if the threat is great enough. Also to note, when he first ascended under his previous title, the Final Dynamic Special attack grew stronger.
    • It is also worth noting that Tetsuya made such a great prowess that when Sanger Zonvolt first appeared… he pretty much single-handedly impressed him and becoming the latter's earliest Worthy Opponent, before being friends later.
    • He's surprised when he visited the House of Family… and found out that there are a LOT of bad parents out there, some even monstrous. People like that quickly entered his 'dislike' list, because being an orphan without parents is horrible, but having parents THAT horrible would be even worse.
    • While he dislikes evil beings at most, Millenium is pretty high on his list, even when he's humanoid. This is because he always tried to goad Tetsuya to keep war going, because people like him "can only find meaning in war, and if war ends, then what?". Tetsuya usually tells him to shut the hell up, he'll happily show that he's more than just a combatant, thanks to various friendships.
    • Some good-natured pranksters seems to make up short stories that presses on Tetsuya's flaws then played them for laughs. When he came across those stories… well, Tetsuya instead found them Actually Pretty Funny and even 'positively' comments on some of his old flaws.
    • After taking absence in the realm of Super Robot Wars, Tetsuya made a triumphant return and brought in a powerful new 'ally' to pilot, letting him go toe to toe power-wise with the likes of Kouji's Mazinkaiser as his upgrade for the Great Mazinger. He calls it... Mazin Emperor G.

  • Adopted from: J Rads 47
  • Potential House: Other Emotions
  • Intermediate Goddess, borderline Greater Goddess
  • Theme Song: M19+M20
  • Alignment: True Neutral, Lawful Evil under the Holy Grail War's alignment system
  • Symbol: A pair of green and red lines creating a spiral
  • Alignment: Powerful telekinesis, Clairvoyance combined with blindness, reveling in murder, numbness subverted by assault, killing rapists, Sympathetic Murderer, Glass Cannon, the Mystic Eyes of Distortion, Broken Bird, Instantly detests Shiki's bloodlust, Tragic Villain
  • Domains: Power, Pain, Psionics, Sadness
  • Allies: Sakura Matou, The Master of Chaldea, Mikiya Kokutou, Lucy/Nyu, Baiken, Charles Xavier/Professor X, Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jean Grey/Phoenix, Carrie White, Madeline, Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, Ashi, Ash Lynx & Eiji Okumura
  • Rivals: Shiki Ryougi, Toph Bei Fong, Kenshi Takahashi, Erik Lensherr/Magneto
  • Enemies: Souren Araya, Kirei Kotomine, Shinji & Zouken Matou, Griffith, Embryo, Akio Ohtori, Molag Bal, Ragyo Kiryuin, Darryl Revok, Robert the Tire, Psycho Mantis
  • Interested in: Abigail Williams
  • Scares: Punky Brewster
  • Fujino Asagami was the heiress to the Asagami clan, born with dangerous psychic powers. Her father, believing that such powers no longer had a place in the modern world, had her numbed and medicated so that she wouldn't be able to use them. For years, she lived with no sense of touch and pain until she was sexually assaulted by a gang, in which she felt pain for the first time. Not wanting to be killed, she re-discovered her psychic powers in self-defense and went on a murdering spree until Shiki Ryougi defeated her in combat by severing one of her death lines, which is revealed to be her appendicitis, the source of her powers. Now that she no longer has them, Fujino became blind but it hasn't stopped her from talking a fellow student out of suicide which is a far cry from her past crimes.
  • Souren Araya was pleased to have one of his pawns ascend to the Pantheon. Unfortunately for Araya, Fujino wanted nothing to do with him and cut all ties with him. Afterwards, she thanked Shiki for sparing her and saving her life, though the both of them decided to avoid seeing each other afterwards. (Mikiya, Touko, Kotomine) (EXPAND LATER)
  • (Fujimaru, Abigail)
Fujino: A girl who was bestowed with abnormal abilities when she was born. Although hers are different from mine, I feel like we are really similar. And besides, her outfits look really cool. Do you think that the way she bends space by twisting her key is just the same as me? Maybe I too can open up a portal or something?
  • Fujino got the locations of all the temples in the Pantheon that belonged to various rapists, and sure enough, they were all demolished by her in record time (with the deities inside of them, of course). Some of the more powerful deities like Griffith and Ragyo were unfazed; the others like the Matous and Ohtori weren't so lucky. (Embryo, Molag Bal)
    • (Sakura, Casca, Ash & Eiji)
  • (Madeline, Punky)
  • (Lucy, Jean, Xavier, Carrie, Mob)
    • (Magneto, Revok)
    • (Robert) Less strangely, there's Psycho Mantis who like her, was also born with psychic powers powerful enough to read and control minds, much to his detriment. When he was young, he saw into the thoughts of his father and found out his hatred for him and, fearing he would be killed, destroyed his home village. His mind reading is great enough that he had to wear a gasmask to help block out the thoughts and emotions of other people. Having two negative father figures of her own, Fujino can only sympathize with him but she sees danger in his psiionics and she would not have him near Mikiya nor her Master; Psycho Mantis himself would have liked her more had it not been the fact that other people had changed her mind from killing any further as she would have been a powerful ally.

@Muundeis: Thanks.

Let’s try this again since I didn’t receive any suggestions the last time I posted the profile.

Gabrielle van der Mal, Representative of Becoming a Nun (Sister Luke, Mama Luke, Marie Louise Habets)

  • House: Religious Practice

  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Based on the life of Marie Louise Habets, Hollywood Nuns, Received an Important Haircut when she was Taking the Veil, Quits after a decade of becoming a nun to join the resistance
  • Domains: Nuns, Faith, Nursing
  • Allies: Maria and Georg von Trapp, The nuns and sisters of St. Katherine’s Parish, Lt. Mike Powell, Lt. Karl Fairburne, Major Winters and Capt. Spiers, Pvt. Boyd Travers, Sgt. Jack Barnes, Asia Argento, Florence Nightingale
  • On Good Terms with: Father Karras and Father Merrin, Tintin
  • Enemies: General Heinz Bohm, the Valkyrie Jager, Johann Schmidt/Red Skull, HYDRA, Wilhelm Strasse, Rudolf von Sturmgeist
  • Opposes: Nurse Ratched, Kiara Sessyoin, Double
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Dr. Gregory House
  • Pities: Sophie Zawistowski, Private Robert Zussmann
  • Tolerates: The Blues Brothers
  • Gabrielle van der Mal is the daughter of a Belgian surgeon during the 1930s who decided to join a convent in Bruges, where she took the nun’s name of “Sister Luke.” There, she went through her postulancy and novitiate. After a stint in a Belgian mental hospital, she was sent to the Belgian Congo, where she served as a nurse alongside handsome, but cynical Dr. Fortunati. Her dedication to nursing as well as her pride in her skills would end up in conflict with her duties as a nun, which demands dedication to the spiritual above all else. Such a conflict became grimmer when she returned to Belgium around 1940 only to discover that the Nazis had invaded the place by that time, not to mention the fact that they killed her father. By that point, she realized that she wasn’t cut out to be a nun, and she left the convent after a decade of servitude to rejoin the secular world.
  • Some time after her departure from the convent, she was visited by one Maria von Trapp, who told her that she just heard about her story and decided to have a conversation with her. Some of the topics that they had discussed include their aspirations to be a nun as well as their situations of living in a country that’s under Nazi rule. In the middle of the conversation, Maria revealed that the reason that she visited was to tell her that she has been invited to the Pantheon. Maria then led her to the doorway that magically led both of them to the House of Faith, who found Gabrielle to be a perfect fit for the Taking the Veil trope and welcomed her to the place, something that she didn’t expect. As for Maria, she remained friends with her and has at times been invited by her and the rest of the Von Trapp family to sing some songs together.
  • Maria von Trapp proceeded to introduce her to other resident nuns of the Pantheon, such as the ones from St. Katherine’s Parish. Gabrielle has some appreciation for Deloris as while she’s not an official nun, her presence in the convent ended up leaving a positive impact on the group. She isn't too fond of the Blues Brothers sometimes calling her "penguin", but still appreciated what they did for the orphanage they grew up in.
    • However, she was also made aware of some of the less benign nuns, such as Double and Kiara Sesshouin. She would rather not get assimilated with Double who has some shady agenda already, and stays away from Kiara Sesshouin whose aim of reaching enlightenment through a cosmic orgy goes against Christianity's traditional values, though she feels sorry for Kiara as she initially wanted to help people and become a therapist before being corrupted by a Demon Pillar.
    • Aside from the aforementioned nuns, Gabrielle had also met up with Father Karras and Father Merrin, with whom she respected for the works that they had done back in their mortal world. Father Karras, for his part, sympathizes with Gabrielle’s conflict of faith, which he finds similar to his own.
  • Given that she has an aptitude for medicine, she is brought in by the House of Health and Diseases to nurse some of the patients there every now and then. There, she befriended the likes of Florence Nightingale and Asia Argento, whom she frequently worked with. Sister Luke is surprised that Asia is a devil who became a nun and pitied her since Asia is later scorned by the very church that took her in due to what she is. Conversely, she doesn’t like Nurse Ratched after hearing about the latter’s treatment towards her mental patients. She also has an uneasy opinion towards Dr. Gregory House given that he’s a doctor with a jerkish behavior. Granted, that didn’t prevent them from being involved in some cases together.
  • Considering her experience seeing Belgium being occupied by Nazis, it’s no surprise that she is a little heartbreaking to see that the Pantheon is involved in a Forever War, but what doesn’t help for her is the fact that several Nazis have resided in the Pantheon. She is particularly under the watchful eye of General Heinz Bohm and the Valkyrie Jager, the former having killed civilians by the hundreds in order to root out partisan movements, and the latter who have performed anti-partisan operations during the later stages of the Italian campaign. Both Nazi German deities see her as potentially suspicious. Additionally, she is disgusted by HYDRA and its leader, Johann Schmidt, as well as other Nazi officers like Wilhelm Strasse and Rudolf von Sturmgeist.
  • Her decision to help the "underground" in smuggling Belgian soldiers out of the country after returning to the secular world brought the interests of Lt. Mike Powell and Lt. Karl Fairburne, both who operate behind enemy lines and are often looking for informants who know about the Axis troop movements, which is something that Gabrielle is considering. She also feels sorry for Sophie Zawistowski (who was a victim of Nazi occupation and who was forced in a Sadistic Choice regarding which of her children would live) as well as Private Robert Zussman (who was an American solider who became a prisoner of war as well as a victim of the Holocaust and Nazi war crimes during his captivity). Additionally, she can be seen aiding paratroopers such as Major Winters and Capt. Spiers, Sgt. Jack Barnes, and Pvt. Boyd Travers, who often get mis-dropped and need someone to give them directions.
  • One time, she was approached by fellow Belgian Tintin. In one of his few times he was actually seen reporting, he decided to interview her about her life as a nun back in her mortal world, to which Gabrielle agreed to do. The two proceeded to discuss several chapters of their respective lives, and at one point, even brought up their times at the Congo. Though Gabrielle isn’t sure what to make of Tintin's infamous stint there.

[tup] for Rarity

@Muundeis

Maybe something with the Son? He is a gang leader who also deals in drugs, and eventually gets addicted to them, causing him to slaughter his own men and the Fans before falling off the roof of his headquarters during his high.

@ Muundeis: Adding onto the Son, the drugs he deals in are especially potent if the Mushroom Samba level is of any indication. It's a truly psychedelic experience, one where mobsters become demons and brutish monsters. He even perceives the Fans as actual animals in some jungle.

Fujino talked a fellow student out of suicide, didn't she? How about something with Ashi since she managed to talk Samurai Jack out of committing seppuku since, even when accounting for his failures he still did so much to the world as wandered to find a way back to the past. Even though he made little if at all progress in his quest everything he did still inspired hope even in a future dominated by Aku.

And since she had a terrible father figure maybe something with Isomer Black. She and the Isomer were left behind in a dead city to rot away because she and the rest of her kind aren't useful to their "father" and is apart of the group of Isomer unable to be absolved by the Epiphyllum (read:commit suicide by radioactive flowers after being unable to wait any longer). There seemed to be a silver lining in a "perfect" version of themselves appearing so she and the rest of the Isomer can assimilate her, but once that fails and finally realizes that pleasing her "father" is well and truly hopeless she tried to commit Suicide by Cop.

@ Donnietu: My knowledge on the Hitman games is miniscule, but I looked into Agent 47 and being friends with a priest named Father Vittorio after becoming a church gardener to try and duck out of a life as a contract killer upon finding out he's a genetic clone, and not human. Of course, it wasn't to be as Vittorio was kidnapped and held for ransom and 47 had to reveal himself to The Agency he ran from to help rescue him. Inevitably, it also lead to him coming back into that lifestyle despite the Father's pleas because he came to accept that at the end of the day it's what he's literally made for, and he doubts there's much of a "soul" in him. Still, his ties to the Church doesn't necessarily end there. 47 donates much of his money to it and at one point also made friends with a a nun named Sister Mary though she and the orphanage she helped run were caught in the crossfire of some thugs looking for a girl 47 was looking after. Considering they're in his way, 47 paid them back in full.

Since nothing's happening I guess I'll go ahead and suggest a profile idea.

The Engi for What a Piece of Junk

  • Reasoning: Engi ships look more like cobbled together clumps of scrap than actual space faring vessels. Comparing that to the likes of Slug, Zoltan, Human, and Lanius and you’ll see aesthetics aren’t really the Engi’s focus. Though they’re not exactly pretty, it doesn’t make them any less functional than other ships. While the least hostile of all the races, Engi ships favor the use of ion weapons and drones and it can get pretty nasty trying to take them down when they’re disabling your shields for their drones to wreak havoc upon while others also support the mothership. In addition, the boxy layout of their ships make it easy for defence drones to, well, defend them as the radius in which they orbit is a cleaner circle compared to the ovals on the other, more wider ships.

Is it not fitting that the most robotic of the races opt for a more Boring, but Practical approach for their ships? The game even outright spells it out at different points:

"You see a number of Engi space stations and fleets nearby. Despite looking like piles of junk loosely tied together, they are actually the model of efficiency. They just lack a certain aesthetic emphasis in their constructions."

"Although it may look like a pile of junk loosely held together, this well designed ship relies on drones and ion weaponry."

The Headless Horseman, Unholy Harbinger of Festivity Changes (Sir Thomas Thomson, Sir Thomas son of Thomas, The Shade of the Horseman)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/headless_horseman_6.png
  • Potential House: Celebration
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: The Horseman's Blade
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Halloween Episode, Tragic Villain, Headless Horseman, Seeking vengeance for the fall of Lordaeron and the death of his family, Rhymes on a Dime, Strange-Syntax Speaker, Laughing Mad

  • Enemies: Arthas Menethil and The Scourge, The League of Explorers, Rafaam and the rest of the League of E.V.I.L., Sir Daniel Fortesque, Jack Skellington
  • Pitied by: Uther Lightbringer, Kratos
  • Every Hallow's End, there comes to infamous Headless Horseman who appears to enact his revenge and claim the heads of all his enemies, be it living or undead, as in his own eyes he believes to be himself still living and nothing will stop him from achieving that. In life he was known as Sir Thomas Thomson, a member of the Knight of the Silver Hand and resident of Lordaeron, one of the many present during Prince Arthas declaration to purge Stratholme and the one who sided with Uther instead of commiting more atrocities. Sir Thomas battled the Scourge for years, even sending his family off to Kalimdor in order to keep them safe and his growing hatred for the Undead landed him among the ranks of the Scarlet Crusade. One day, tricked by the dreadlord Balnazzar, Sir Thomas slaughtered a village who actually was not infected in the slightest and in his blind rage accidentally murdered his own family. Driven mad by the experience eventually made Sir Thomas a danger to his peers and he was ultimately beheaded, not before Balnazzar used his own fel magic to resurrect him as the Headless Horseman.
  • The Horseman arrived to the Pantheon and everywhere he went, his laugh could be heard echoing through the halls of the Pantheon. He ultimately settled in the House of Celebration and stands guard in his temple, rarely leaving it said for when Hallow's End (Or Halloween, he doesn't really care) arrives. Given his ties to the event and how his mere presence changes the location to be Hallow's End themed, he was given the title of Holiday Mode, though not many dare to tell him that he is in fact a deity.
  • Hates both the living and the undead alike, but even in his former life the Horseman utterly despised the undead, even joing the Scarlet Crusade at one point. His biggest beef is with the Scourge naturally, since they are responsible for most of the destruction of Lordaeron and the Human Kingdoms, not to mention a particular beef he has with the Lich King (Arthas if you are wondering). Most of the time the Horseman has been spotted battling with the forces of the Scourge but he himself is no darling to other heroic factions as he as dangerous as any other undead.

I just launched the new trope Loss of Inhibitions. Since I don't really have anyone in mind right now and I'm busy working on my profiles, anyone is free to think of a character to represent this trope and work on it when the time comes.

I don't think we're allowed to ascend gods for tropes we made anyways. But same here for Campy Combat, Familial Foe, Powers via Weapon, and Water Is Womanly if anyone has any deities they want to ascend that fit well smile

[up] You can ascend gods for tropes you've made, it's just that after you've made one, you have to wait for at least a month before you can bring up an idea to prevent bandwagoning from occurring (this happened to be a pretty big issue during the Pantheon's early days).
