    Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Kara Zor-El, Goddess of Distaff Counterparts (Supergirl, Linda Lee Danvers, Linda Lang, Kara Kent, Kara Danvers, the Maid of Might, the Girl of Steel, the Last Daughter Of Krypton, Red Daughter)

  • Greater Goddess (between Greater Goddess and Overdeity as a Red Lantern, Overdeity under a blue sun, Lesser Goddess under a red sun or when exposed to gold kryptonite)
  • Symbol: The S-Shield/Shield of the House of El
  • Theme Music: Jerry Goldsmith Supergirl Overture, Supergirl (2015)'s Theme of Supergirl, Get Your Cape On or The Superman: The Animated Series Theme
  • Alignment: Usually Neutral Good, though can also be Chaotic Good or have Chaotic Tendencies depending on the version, Chaotic Neutral as a Red Lantern or when exposed to red kryptonite
  • Portfolio: Action Girls, Action Fashionistas, Flying Bricks, Mini Dress Of Power, Most Common Super Power, Heroic Sacrifice, Back from the Dead, Superpower Lottery, Primary-Color Champion, Kind Hearted Cat Lover, Dye or Die, Uncontrolled Strength, Hot-Bloodness, Caped Heroines, Even the Girls Want Her, Kissing Cousins, No Holds Barred Beatdowns, Pieta Plagiarisms, Glowing Eyes of Doom, Legacy Character.
  • Domains: Superheroes, Hope, Love, Compassion, Anger, Family.
  • High Priestess: Ms. Pac Man
  • Allies:
  • Pities: Jason Todd/Red Hood, High Councillor Kal-El
  • Enemies:
  • Frenemies: Bizarro
  • Opposes: Lex Luthor, Atrocitus, Neopolitan, Nazis and any villain who commits genocide or destroys worlds.
  • Mary Marvel came before Kara, but Kara's Kryptonian abilities overshadowed Mary's - even more impressive considering Kryptonians are vulnerable to magic, which powers Mary's abilities. Superman was able to ascend Kara to Goddesshood before Captain Marvel could ascend Mary.
  • Though the basic story of Kara Zor-El holds great similarity to her famous cousin's, to say that they are the same would be akin to saying that all humans are the same because "they are all born on Earth". Indeed, the differences in their origins could not be more striking upon closer inspection. Sent to Earth as a teenager, she arrived decades after she was intended to. Waking up to discover that her baby cousin was suddenly twice her biological age, and that she was now a refugee on a strange new world that gave her similarly overpowering abilities that were... difficult to control at best, Kara tries her best to embrace all that Earth has to offer, even as she longs for the world she once knew.
  • Kara is not the only character to hold the name of Supergirl (technically not even the first), but she was the most prominent, embodied the role best, and held it the longest. As of the latest Crisis Crossover, she is officially the only character to have held the title.
  • Unlike what some people may think, she has actually worn pants.
  • Although she is nicer and more compassionate that her cousin, she is more short-tempered. Beware.
  • Never, never, NEVER harm her cousin. She WILL kick your butt, regardless of your power level.
  • Neither she nor her cousin likes to talk about some of their Pre-Crisis stories that implied incest. Ask about them and they will get angry and ignore you. Persist and you will get a Death Glare. A red-glowing death-glare.
  • Supergirl gets along incredibly well with the Bat-Family, even Damien Wayne, whose... existence... she tolerates. Her favorite Bat-members are Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown and Dick Grayson. She also respects Batman a lot. He was one of the first heroes she met after arriving on Earth and Kara has been trained by him.
  • Kara has a good relationship with Wonder Woman from the House of Philosophy. Supergirl respects Wonder Woman for being the first female super-hero, and Diana values Kara because she is one of the strongest women in the planet and uses her powers for good (even if Diana thinks the young Kryptonian needs guidance and warrior training). Both women have enjoyed many adventures together and fought hand-in-hand. Supergirl has joined the Amazons sometimes, and in the Pre-Crisis universe, Queen Hyppolita once said "[She]'ll always think of [Kara] as [her] third Amazon daughter". In a darker universe where Superman died, Wonder Woman became Kara's surrogate mother. In another timeline, Supergirl, Batgirl and Wonder Girl -Donna Troy- are Super Best Friends Forever. She and the third Wonder Girl -Cassie Sandsmark- used to be very, very close friends.
  • Nightwing was one of the first heroes whom she met (in the Pre-Crisis timeline). Kara has a huge crush on Dick, which is not unusual, but she has heard rumors their alternate selves got married in a possible future. Kara is still trying to process this information, but she wonders why Dick would choose her instead of Barbara.
  • It's been hinted that she and Power Girl have more-than-friend chemistry with their respective besties, Batgirl and Huntress. Interestingly, she and Wonder Girl Cassie Sandsmark have actually kissed.
  • Hal Jordan has enjoyed some adventures with Supergirl, which is because he was so utterly shocked when he found she was chosen by a Red Ring. Hal was so concerned he sought Guy Gardner's help to guide her in properly channelling her anger. Kara tried to not laugh loud and hard when Hal entrusted Guy with the task to tell her cousin about her new status.
  • Supergirl often is disconcerted by Bizarro's backwards ways. Once she found out Bizarro had created her own Bizarro counterpart to help fight a planet-eating monster, but Bizarrogirl was just so loony as her cousin and needed much coaxing from Supergirl to learn how to be a hero.
  • Once Superman revealed the existence of Supergirl to the world, Lex Luthor tried to kill her to prove she was a hoax. He failed, and to add insult to injury, she saved his life (because she did not want him to escape his life sentence). Lex got so murderously furious that he grabbed a shotgun, fired at her, and then he remembered she is Immune to Bullets. He yelled that he loathed her and her cousin before being taken away.
    • Supergirl, though, did him a favor when she made friends with Lex's little sister Lena and kept her brother's identity a secret.
    • In alternate universe Earth-149, She captured Lex after he managed to kill her cousin. Luthor was banished to the Phantom Zone and she became Superman's torchbearer.
    • When Lex first fought her after the Crisis on Infinite Earths, though, he moped the floor with her.
  • When General Zod ascended, the whole House of El (Superman, Supergirl, Power Girl, Jor-El, Kon-El/Superboy and Lois Lane) declared they will NEVER kneel before Zod, no matter how much he demands it, and they WILL kick his butt before banishing him to the Phantom Zone if he tries to force them. And then the Bat-Family declared they would side with the Super-Family when he tries anything. Zod promptly shut up, but Supergirl and her cousin know he is merely biding his time and they will fight him again sooner or later.
  • Clark recruited Kara's help to stop Mongul when the alien overlord appropiated Warworld. In an act of utter badassery, Supergirl hurled herself at the planet at incalculable speed, punching through the star-sized weapon and breaking it down, which gave her cousin a chance to blow it up. Mongul attempted to get revenge on Superman but he doesn't care for Supergirl at all. Kara is understandably pissed about it but she is also glad because Mongul's sexism guarantees he will underestimate her again. And if he tries that "Black Mercy" crap on Clark again, she will show him the real meaning of the word "BURN".
  • Supergirl was a constant victim of Mr. Mxyzptlk pranks during her early career. He amped her powers up, depowered her, repowered her, lured her into a future century where everyone had been brainwashed into hating her, tried to get married to her (don't ask), banished her and Batgirl to other dimension and pretended to be her enemy Black Flame pretending be Supergirl as a part of a convoluted scheme to prank Superman and Batman (again, don't ask)...
    • Proving that he doesn't understand her cousin at all, he once and temporarily amped Kara's power levels up and removed her weakness to Kryptonite to humiliate Superman. Superman's reaction was considering that maybe he should be his cousin's sidekick.
  • Supergirl both fears and despises Brainiac for having stolen her city of Kandor and terrorized Krypton. It is speculated he may have played a hand in Krypton's destruction.
    • Once Brainiac arrived on Earth and shrank Metropolis. Supergirl fought and tore apart dozens of Brainiac's murderous robots before being captured. Shortly after she chased, caught and threw away a missile Brainiac fired at the Sun. However, while she was chasing missiles, Brainiac murdered her adoptive uncle Jonathan, making Kara hate Brainiac even more than she already did.
    • Ironically one of her main love interests is Brainiac 5, descendant of Brainiac and fellow member of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
  • Supergirl got annoyed when she found out about Metallo's ascension, although she is not too concerned about him, since she's faced him down several times. Once she was ambushed by Metallo, Kryptonite-Man, Silver Banshee and Parasite. While she fought she told them "I hope you don't think just because my cousin is out of town that you're going to actually win for a change" before punching Metallo out. An alternate Supergirl was almost killed by Metallo, though. Some deities have pointed out how ironic is that Metallo and Supergirl showed up in the universe at the same time.
  • Supergirl really hates Atrocitus. Although she liked being a member of the Guy Gardner's Red Lantern Corps, she blames Atrocitus for their transformation into berserkers who can barely restrain their negative emotions, and she hates him for trying to kill her friends.
  • Understandably, Kara holds a gigantic grudge against Doomsday. She hates him for killing her cousin and Doomsday hates her just so much as he hates any Kryptonian life-form. They have crossed path a good number of times. However, Kara usually has backup and is well-prepared when it happens.
    • During a battle she said "Smile, Doomsday. You're about to meet the Superman Family" before helping to pound on him.
    • When Doomsday's ungodly rage and hate for all things ended up attracting a Red Lantern ring in the pantheon, it took Supergirl, Superman and Atrocitus to team up and stop him.
  • Kara met Jean Grey on one occasion when the Phoenix was overtaking Jean's mind. Fortunately, Kara was flying by and managed to calm her down. Afterwards both women befriended each other, their bonding helped by the fact that Supergirl's best friend is a redhead. Jean was surprised to learn Kara serves in a team co-led by a female telepath, and noted ruefully both of them are best known by stories where they sacrificed their lives.
    • Some deities have wondered whether the Pre-Crisis Supergirl -who was able to relight a star- can defeat Phoenix Jean -who can snuff a sun out- in a kind of ultimate "Brains vs Brawn" duel. Both women put a stop to the debate when they declared they're NOT cat-fighting.
  • Supergirl has served several times in the Justice League during which she was mentored by veteran heroes like Martian Manhunter. In an alternate universe, J'onn J'onzz acts as a kind of surrogate father for the young Kryptonian.
  • She has zero luck at the romance department.
  • She and Power Girl together are contenders for the title of Goddess of the Continuity Snarl.
  • She's glad to see her best friend Babs return to the Pantheon.
  • She did NOT date her horse and is fed up with people who thinks she is into horses.
  • She doesn't regret her Red Lantern tenure because she learnt many valuable lessons and grew up a lot, but she sincerely hopes that she will never again be angry enough to become a Red Lantern.
  • Kara was delighted when her uncle Jor-El ascended. When they met, Jor hugged her and told she looked right like her mother, which made Kara immensely happy.
  • She was overjoyed when her cousin and Lois Lane become parents. She swore that she would give the Anti-Monitor treatment whenever he threatened Jon.
  • Naturally, she really doesn't like Norman Osborn, because he is basically the Marvel universe's equivalent of Lex Luthor. Not to mention that Spider-Man told her quite a lot about Norman, so she knows quite well how dangerous the Green Goblin is.
  • Tired of hearing Dru-Zod try to and justify his hatred towards the House of El on his banishment, Kara pointed out that, in at least one reality, he wasn't banished to the Phantom Zone and he still was a jerkass to her family just because he deemed it amusing. That got him to shut up for a short while.
  • Hearing of a an alternate world where her cousin becomes a tyrannical ruler, Kara saw her alternate-self fighting against Brainiac and torn between the need to stop Superman and her wish to get him to listen to reason. Suitably disturbed, Kara felt a greater eagerness to keep her own family safe.
  • Struck up an unexpected friendship with Buffy Summers when they found out that, being blonde action girls with super-human abilities who started out their careers fighting eldritch monsters in their teen years, they had plenty stories to share. To her surprise, both girls also found an alternate reality where they teamed up every so often.
  • Kara has sometimes stumbled upon other girls who took up the Supergirl mantle, but said meetings were unfortunately and disappointingly short-lived.
  • She wants everyone to watch her new TV series on CBS and The CW.

Intermediate Gods

    Kuja
Kuja, God of Viewer Gender Confusion and Fashion Victim Villains (The Angel of Death, the Graceful Glider, Kuji-coo, Kuja-kun)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kuja_01.png
  • Intermediate God
  • Symbol: A Silver Feather
  • Theme Music: "Immoral Melody", "The Dark Messenger"
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil -> True Neutral trying to be Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Disturbingly Feminine Men, Viewer Gender Confusion, Questionable Fashion Sense, Overuse of Theatrical Metaphors, Raging Narcissism, Total Mental Collapse Followed By World-Endangering Suicide Attempts, Camp Straight, Xanatos Speed Chess, Based Off Of Every Final Fantasy Main Villain Before Him, Born as an Adult
  • Domains: Charm, Destruction, Magic, Pride, Theatrics, Defying Fate
  • (Former) Allies: Kefka, Sephiroth, Chaos, Vega The Evil Queen, Queen Sectonia, Ardyn Izunia
  • New Allies: Golbez (also Odd Friendship), Megamind
  • Special Relationship: Zidane
  • Unlike some gods, nobody confuses him for a woman... when they meet him in person face to face. View him remotely, and you'll be convinced he's female. The theory the House of Knowledge has proposed is that he has very masculine pheromones.
  • If asked, The Question would argue that once you notice the man-thong, you can't un-notice it.
  • After Dissidia 012, Kuja's Character Development since his original ascension caused him to consider approaching Cosmos to ask for a chance to change sides and become Neutral Good. Kefka heard of this and played what he referred to as "Mind Rape The Genome's Memories" while Kuja was sleeping one night, and those plans were quickly discarded as Kuja embraced his alignment anew.
  • Due to him being part of the Akira Ishida family, Yuno has placed him on her shit list.
  • Was part of a group known as "Rule of Beauty" consisting of him, Vega, The Evil Queen and Queen Sectoria. They do argue who is the prettiest of them all, but they can put away their differences to kill any one who think they are better than them. The rest of the team know that he can potentially be the most dangerous member of the team, so they treat him with care.
  • When not in his temple, he can be seen in the House of Theater viewing the latest creations of the gods there.
  • One day, Kuja found Zidane confronting him, and Golbez suspiciously keeping his distance while staying close by. Due to Kefka's brainwashing, he attacked his fellow Genome, who countered and battled hard with intent to take him down and in a bid to make him remember their last conversation in Gaia. Allies (or at least those who oppose Zidane) tried to come to his aid, only for Golbez to keep them out of this "quarrel between brothers". The battle shortly escalated as gods joined in and took sides in the conflict, making the Lunarian's task much more complicated. Still, somehow, Zidane was soon able to incapacitate Kuja, then—as planned—the two and Golbez were spirited away with a teleporter that would take them somewhere more private.
    • In their secluded area, Zidane finally got Kuja to spill; the reason the latter turned heel again was due to what happened in the 12th cycle in the Dissidia wars; he truly was against Chaos's side, but Kefka's intervention forced his hand, and the mad clown would later alter his memories for the next cycle, which Golbez corroborated, recalling Kefka's gloating back when he was serving the GUAE.
    • After that explanation, Kuja asked what will happen next. Zidane offered him to join him in the GUAG, just like him and Golbez, at the Ministry of Atonement to be exact. And this time, there will be no intervention from Kefka or anyone else as they make their way to Cosmos, which won't be long since they had teleported to the House of Heroes. Kuja wasn't sure; he's played and reveled in the role of villain for far too long, and his tenure as an inside man didn't really go well. Zidane promised to help him every step of the way. Being a (soon to be) fellow defector from Chaos, Golbez also offered to lend a hand when he can.
    • One successful visit to Cosmos later, Kuja's redemption was solidified, and defensive measures have been arranged to ensure that neither Kefka or anyone else will be able to repeat the mad clown's stunt again.
  • Naturally, trust is slow, especially given he underwent a Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum. So far, only Zidane and Golbez give him the time of day; Vivi's still afraid and won't stay around the ex-villain unless Zidane's by his side.
    • Given his flair for theatrics, Megamind is the first among those in the Ministry of Atonement besides Golbez to make an attempt to connect with Kuja. They managed to grow closer over a battle against the Plutonian, which Kuja found his reasons for villainy even more petty than his own.
  • Can also be found in Villainous Appearances.

  • Portfolio: Alliterative Name, Funny Animal, Tertiary Sexual Characteristics, Species Surname, Distaff Counterparts (moreso for Daisy), Official Couples (married for Minnie, but just dating for Daisy)
  • Domains: Accessories, Femininity
  • Heralds: Millie and Melody (Minnie's nieces), April May, and June (Daisy's nieces)
  • Allies: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, Scoorge McDuck, Jiminy Cricket, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Aqua, Ventus, Terra, Roxas, Xion, Lea/Axel, all good-aligned Disney deities
    • Minnie only: Celebi
    • Daisy only: Ariel, all good-aligned fashion-related deities
  • Superior: Walt Disney
  • Enemies: Pete, Maleficent, Xehanort's Incarnations, Dr. XXX (especially for Minnie), Vanitas, Funny Valentine, Enrico Pucci, all evil-aligned Disney deities
  • On Good Terms with: Gordon Ramsay (Yes, seriously)
  • When it comes to distinguishing between genders (if one even has them), sometimes body shape isn't enough (or is not appropriate for the target audience to see) or the character's species doesn't have the appropriate body traits for such distinguishments, so one has to resort to stereotypical aspects.
    • Mickey Mouse was surprised that there had been no representatives for this sooner, not to mention the GUAG could use another ally, and immediately hurried over to Walt Disney to make an appeal to the Court of the Gods to ascend his partner Minnie Mouse. Donald Duck had seen him pass by, decided to follow him, saw what he was up to, and nominated for Daisy Duck to join her. One ascension ceremony later…
    • The first thing Daisy did was scold Donald for not inviting her sooner before kissing him. Minnie on the other hand is just glad that Mickey's still doing all right and they went out together.
    • As for why there're only female representatives for this title, that's because when one observes a character without any tertiary characteristics, male is often the default assumption, so it's not as necessary.
  • Applies to both:
    • While not officially Disney Princess the two are friends with them and hang out with them on occasion.
    • The two of them have a service called Happy Helpers in which they get called upon to fix up various parts around the Pantheon. One day while helping do repairs in the House of Food, they were asked by Chef Ramsay, of all gods, to help do some renovation work. Many gods would've been confused by it, but the two agreed because Ramsay reminded them so much of someone they knew named "Chef Oxley". In fact, whenever the two groups cross paths, Ramsay is shown to be quite a gentleman to them.
  • Exclusive to Minnie:
    • Minnie admits to not being the best person in her first appearances, but she has improved long since then. And the same can be said about Mickey, so fair's fair.
    • While in the House of Mouse, she's the club's bookkeeper and show planner and is often often responsible for saving the club in times of crises. And she's more diligent than ever in regards to security given the Disney villains, led by Jafar, once took over the House, and she's not about to let that happen again.
    • Minnie's intolerant of bullies, and has made that very clear. As for the god of those who hunt them, Jimmy Hopkins, she knows that he means well despite his gruff exterior.
    • While she does have Light magic, she's not actually that impressive with it by herself, needing Sora's (or Mickey's) help with his Keyblade to cast Faith, which can completely wipe out all Heartless in an area.
    • After being updated on everything that has occurred in the Pantheon from her friends, Minnie has been convinced by Mickey to help in helping protect Madoka from Vanitas due to his potential plots to forge the χ-blade in the aftermath of the Pantheonic Rebellion. However, she has a feeling that Madoka might not be the only target and is arranging for protection for all other potential marks, such as Sailor Moon, but after coming into contact with Tron and related confidants about this matter, she's kept this discrete, even from Mickey..
  • Exclusive to Daisy:
    • Not many know this, but before Daisy was Donald's love interest, there was another prior: Donna Duck. Not much is known as to what happened to her since then, but it is known that she already has a new boyfriend in Donald's distant cousin Whitewater.
    • Unlike Donald, to everyone's puzzlement and relief, Daisy voice isn't unintelligible.
    • She enjoys fashion and shopping above all else and, although well-bred and sophisticated when she wants to be, can be a bit eccentric and overbearing at times. As such, one can often find her shopping for clothes or exploring the House of Costumes.
    • While she gets along with all of the Disney Princesses, Daisy has particular fondness for Ariel, at least while working at the House of Mouse.
    • There are those who wonder how healthy exactly her and Donald's relationship are, given that when he once lost his memory of her and became an excellent singer, when given the choice of getting him back or letting him keep his fame, she picked the selfish choice. Oh, and there's her brief humorous suicidal moments during Donald's amnesiac fame as a singer. Daisy's only reply is that they've moved on from that phase since then.
    • In the House of Mouse, she serves as the club's reservation clerk. Like Donald, she craves the spotlight and constantly asks Mickey to perform, which he usually denies. On emergencies when she does perform, it's often hated by the audience, but only to the Disney cast. While there, it can be seen that she's a big fan of Ariel.
      • Don't mention the time where she practiced sorcery once and accidentally made the House of Mouse and all its guests disappear. Apparently, it also involved Jafar and Iago putting things back to normal, which explains why she's tight-beaked on the details.
    • Seems to be unaware of her boyfriend's escapades as Paperinik, and nobody who knows of it has thought to tell her.
      • Turns out she actually has a vigilante identity just like him called Paperinika and while she lacks powers, she has some martial arts and is a gadgeteer.

    Pom Poko Tanuki
The Tanuki of Tama Hill notable individuals, Gods of Supernatural Genitalia and Defenders of Uncorrupted Wilderness
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pom_poko.png
  • Lesser Gods (Intermediate for those that are disciplined and train their abilities)
  • Symbol: A tanuki statue
  • Theme Music: "Spirited Season"
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Tanuki, magical testicles, Ghibli Hills, Green Aesops, Master of Illusion, Shapeshifting, potentially more deadly than their behavior would suggest, Faux Documentaries
  • Domains: Beasts, the Supernatural, Tradition, Environmentalism, Genitalia
  • Allies: The other Studio Ghibli deities, the sub-House of Nature Preservers, the House of Celebration, especially Pinkie Pie, Amaterasu, Mamizou Futatsuiwa, Sanada Yukimura, Tom Nook
  • Enemies: Mr. Burns
  • Oppose: Angry Video Game Nerd
  • Rivals: Renamon (one-sided)
  • Terrified of: Johnny Cage and his family
  • Annoy: The House of Food in general
  • Complicated Relations: Tanukichi Okuma
  • On good terms with: Mario
  • When urbanization struck the idyllic Tama Hill, the residing tanuki scrambled to stop their territory from shrinking. They attempted to organize themselves to better push back against the humans, but certain factors (namely, that tanuki are naturally easily distracted, them not being able to agree on anything, and humanity simply not believing in the supernatural as much anymore) meant that their enterprise was doomed. In the end, in order to survive, some used their illusion powers to mix in with humans, while others remained wild and soldiered on as well as they could.
  • One day, the "green" deities were doing battle with Mr. Burns and his allies to stop the latter group from using Green Hill Zone as a dump for toxic waste. Deciding that they needed reinforcements, San had an idea and excused herself for a moment. Some minutes later, Burns' forces were sky-bombed by suspiciously fleshy yet furry round objects, crushing quite a few of their number in a most undignified manner. When the tanuki made their next attack by swinging their scrotums like bludgeons, Burns and co. were too surprised, grossed out and legitimately wounded, so they decided to retreat to pollute another day. To reward such a memorable debut and for protecting one of the greenest places in the Pantheon, the Main House awarded the tanuki with godhood over Super Sex Organs and Ghibli Hills.
    • When San came to them requesting for their help, the tanuki were reluctant to give it since their confidence had been shot because of their failure to protect their own home, and thought their help wouldn't be any use. San replied that if the past weighs on their minds so much, they could seek to redeem themselves by protecting that which still exists in the present and is someone else's precious home. Shokichi, one of the younger tanuki, thought she was right and was the first to volunteer. Everyone else followed with a little rallying up from Oroku. During the battle, they were surprised and very happy to see Gonta and several other tanuki who'd died in the mortal world joining the fray.
    • They've promised to protect any natural place in the Pantheon so that such places do not suffer the same fate as their own home. The existence of people like Mr. Burns and Looten Plunder, who'll ruin green spaces without a thought simply becauses it suits them, aghasts the tanuki; at least the humans who took their home did so because they needed the space to live, not because of any malicious intention to wreck the environment.
  • Mamizou, being a tanuki herself, was joyful at receiving the news of the ascension of a whole community of them. She, more than anyone, can be credited with helping the tanuki get used to life in the Pantheon. These days she can often be found in their temple, enjoying being around her kind. The tanuki also welcome her warmly.
    • She's also taken care to inform them that Doraemon is not one of them before anyone made that mistake.
  • Most of the deities in the Pantheon who aren't Japanese find the tanuki's constantly exposed balls and their magical properties very disconcerting indeed. Well, that or hilarious. The tanuki and the Japanese deities don't understand what the big deal is. There have been some attempts from the more prudish deities to force the tanuki to wear more modest clothes, though the proposals have always been shot down by the Court of Gods, who've judged that such a thing would be a violation of the tanuki's nature and culture and that they'd been robbed of enough already.
  • Because their testicles are so essential to them, they were terrified to learn of Johnny Cage, a man who specializes in attacking that area. He has developed quite a reputation as a fearsome monster among the tanuki (so have his wife and daughters, especially as Cassie has shown a similar propensity). Johnny himself has nothing against them and just finds this amusing. He's pointed out that if they can use their balls as bludgeons, they can't be that much of a weak spot.
  • They don't like humans very much considering they're responsible for destroying their territory and forcing the tanuki to change their lifestyle. For this reason, they do not generally seek the company of humans. They prefer hiding away much more than attacking them, though, and as tanuki are nothing if not fun-loving, they sure enjoy the entertainment that humans create; they've made sure to furnish their temple with a big plasma TV and several gaming consoles. They were floored to learn about the wonders of laptops and video-on-demand, which weren't yet around in their time, and were quick to acquire those as well.
    • San is one of the few humans they like for reasons that should already be clear, but also because she was raised by wolf gods in a forest filled with spirits, so she understands the tanuki to some degree. She and Ashitaka have slowly made process in getting them to interact with the other Ghibli deities, who're mostly human. Luckily, many of them are sensitive to the natural and spiritual world, so the tanuki like them well enough.
  • These tanuki have more or less three forms: a realistic one, an anthropomorphized one, and a comically cartoony one. Due to their isolationism, few other deities not trusted by them have seen them in any form besides the first one.
  • Something they struggled with back in the mortal world was the fact that humans didn't believe in their existence as they once used to. Amaterasu, who once had to run around all over Japan to get people to believe in her again, sympathizes with their plight. She also commends their efforts to protect nature both in the mortal world and in the Pantheon. The tanuki themselves were impressed that the sun goddess could take on the form of a wolf and think they prefer her like that.
  • Spend an inordinate amount of time at the House of Food, considering neither of their temples is located there. These tanuki are very gluttonous and particularly fond of human food, and they love nothing quite so much as stuffing themselves. Since they also love throwing rowdy parties while they're at it, Gordon Ramsay and other residents of the House have been seen running them all out plenty of times for making a mess.
  • Like any tanuki, they enjoy using their powers to prank the other deities. They find it hilarious seeing the others' scared reactions when they disguise themselves as haunts. Occasionally their powers are given more of a constructive use, such as when festivities are approaching and the House of Celebration asks them to participate by using their illusion powers to create thematically appropriate displays. Since the tanuki like to show off, they don't mind helping.
    • Even if it's not a day of celebration, they always manage to find a pretext to throw a party, no matter how unwarranted. They generally keep these to their community, but Pinkie Pie has managed to insert herself in these events with ease, claiming she wants to study their party-throwing ways to inspire her own. Due to her party-hard personality, which is much like theirs, the tanuki are quite accepting of her.
  • Tanuki historically don't really get along with kitsune, treating each other as rivals in the arts of shapeshifting and constantly challenging each other. Renamon is so far the only fox in the Pantheon to match the description of a kitsune, but while she'll engage the tanuki in shapeshifting contests if she has nothing else going on, it's not something she takes seriously.
  • Sanada Yukimura finds Gonta and his followers' Last Stand to be an admirable show of manliness. Gonta himself is over the moon that a legendary Sengoku general would compliment him so.
  • Their presence in the Pantheon is a bit of a sore spot for Tanukichi Okuma, as it gives the other deities ammo to make jokes about the tanuki's most infamous attribute at his expense, as he was named after them.
  • Mario has tried interacting with them through his special power of turning into a tanuki by eating a leaf. The tanuki aren't fooled (they aren't nearly as dumb as they look, really) but they're still impressed a human has some grasp on the art of shapeshifting, so they're okay with him and let him be around them (perhaps to show off how the pros do it). Now other deities keep asking them if it's true that Mario's package becomes larger in that form. They're not sure why that matters.
  • Apparently the Angry Video Game Nerd once rode a giant tanuki into battle. The tanuki would normally be indifferent to this, if it wasn't known that he had shot up Totoro. They weren't the least bit amused that a great nature spirit had gotten such a treatment.

Demigods

    Hideri Kanzaki
Hideri Kanzaki, God of Wholesome Crossdressing (Idol Maid)

  • Demigod

  • Enemies: The Mob, Bullies
  • Hideri Kanzaki is one of many maids that work at Cafe Stile, being one of the last to be hired and works as the Idol Maid, having always dreamed of becoming an actual Idol Singer. The notable part is that Hideri is actually a guy, he likes to crossdress because it brings the attention he craves for and because he likes feeling cute. He ascended after his co-worker and friend Maika Sakuranomiya casually mentioned that the place she works in has a maid that is actually a man, having draw the curiosity of the Court of Gods, Hideri was happy to apply for the position if is a means to become more famous.
  • Becoming a deity did nothing but increase his ego and his need for attention. While a bit disappointed that he didn't get any tropes concerning Idol Singers, he is content with having a title concerning his choice of clothing. Some have suggested he should drop the Idol charade and stick to the crossdressing aspect, since there are people that are into that.
  • While it may look otherwise, Hideri has been shown to get flustered around a few of his coworkers, namely Maika and Miu. While trying to hook up the former with his superior, he ended up having feelings for her eventually and he is constantly also seen with the latter. This has put a dent to the "Traps are Gay" meme so many groups like The Mob are very fond of, even if Hideri himself considers it offensive.
  • Wasted no time in trying to become an idol in the pantheon, with some moderate success. He is in friendly terms with other idols most notably the bigger groups like μ's, 765 Pro and Houkago Tea Time. He did end up befriending one of the members of the first group, Nico Yazawa, sounding a lot like her and even perfectly imitating her catchphrase. That said, she and the others think he should tone down his Attention Whore tendencies.
    • Of course has nothing but admiration towards Miku Hatsune, easily one of the biggest idols around and he desperately wants to be like her. She is flattered by his praise but still believes he has a long way to go.
  • Out of curiosity decided to meet other that are crossdressers like him. Hideri first stumbled upon Astolfo, considered one of the most beatiful males in the pantheon for some reason and he can see why, since even him got smitten a little. Astolfo, being such a Nice Guy, warmly welcome another Wholesome Crossdresser to the pantheon and decided to become Hideri's friend, even considering helping him in Hideri's idol career. Hideri turned him down on the latter, not because he doesn't want the help, but because he feels Astolfo would steal all the thunder and he can't let him do that.
    • Then there was others that shared these traits for more personal circumstances than because of a hobby. For example, he was surprised Bridget was raised as a girl because of a belief same-sex twins are bad luck (albeit, she did circle around to considering themselves a woman in time), and then he ended up meeting Naoto Shirogane, a girl who dressed as a boy so the police would take her more seriously. He ended befriending the two because he did get after crossdressing since he doesn't like his life at the farm.
    • Surprisingly not much into transforming into a different gender, he is pretty fine with just crossdressing instead of becoming a girl, even if he could gain superpowers. Unless it did increase his chances of becoming an idol, then he would take the change without any doubt.
  • From Naoto he ended up meeting an idol friend of hers, Rise Kujikawa, who Hideri seeked out to see if she could help him get into the scene. He was a bit bothered about how the media perceived her and how her persona was warped by them into something negative, but she managed to accept it in the end. That said, Rise noticed that Hideri has a huge problem with ego that he has to work out.
  • Felt pity for Chihiro Fujisaki when he learned the reason he was a crossdresser, especially when he resembles a very good-looking girl. Hideri has an habit of lashing out at bullies for being and trolls who mess with friends and fans of him and so tried to confort Chihiro after hearing his tale. They became friends after that but he is a bit bummed out that Hideri is stronger than he looks, even if he is not proud of that himself.
  • Despite his harmless appearance he is pretty strong for a tiny guy. That's because he hails from the farms where he has been made to work for hours and he got naturally stronger thanks to that even if he doesn't look the part. He is not exactly proud about this.
  • Even if he wants to disassociate from the farm life, he is still on good terms with the Farmer and respects him for being the resident Farm Boy, even if the Farmer himself is a bit surprised by Hideri's gender and appearance.
  • Like Maika, he also tends to work extra hours on Chiyoko Shiraishi's temple like he does back in his world. She has tried to convince him to drop the idol act since it has been bothersome to a few of her costumers but Hideri rarely listens to her. Even then, his presence has brought the interest of many others that are into people like him.

  • In the coastal town of Iwatobi lives Haruka Nanase, noted for his love of water and rare talent for swimming. He has been friends since childhood with Makoto, Nagisa and Rin, who share his love for the pool and practiced since an early age. Rin left to train in Australia when they were in middle school and certain events led to a rift in their friendship. Rin came back during high school and was distant from his friends, who decided to revive their school's swimming club so they could meet Rin in competitions. His sister Gou was enlisted as manager and they got track and field athlete Rei to join to round out the number of members. Rin became close with his friends again after sorting out his issues with Haruka, who he considered his biggest rival, and they went on to pave their way to competing at the world level.
  • They were formally invited to join the Pantheon with sponsorship from the House of Sports, who were eager to have talented swimmers (of which Haruka and Rin are likely to go to the Olympics) representing the sport in the Pantheon. At first it was only really Nagisa who was excited about it, regardless of the inherent weirdness of a place where people like them can be made gods, which Rei pointed out only to fall on deaf ears. Haruka however was enticed when he was told about the House of Water and Moisture and demanded to see it immediately. Easygoing Makoto just smiled and went with the flow. Eventually they decided there was no harm in being gods of the Pantheon and decided to stay, upon which they were given the trope Gender-Blender Name, as their names are feminine or popular to give to girls. At length, they contacted Rin so he could join them, and, largely at Nagisa's behest, also got their club manager Gou in, with Nagisa reasoning they should have a female representative with a manly name. Gou is not the least bit amused, but stays with her friends anyhow.
  • Their temple consists of a homely clubroom. What is considered the greatest swimming pool complex in the Pantheon was also built in their honor, though that's located in the House of Sports. Deities of all stripes are allowed to come swim in it, provided they don't cause any havoc. Makoto can often be seen mentoring deities who are beginning to learn to swim. It is where most indoor aquatic sports competitions in the Pantheon occur. The gang also occasionally gets it into their heads to fill the pools with fun things like cherry blossoms or balloons for some extra fun.
  • Being that they spend a lot of time in water due to their sport of election, they have made their fair share of water-dwelling friends, especially as far as Haruka is concerned; he'd spend his whole life submerged if only he could get away with it. He and his friends have hit it off with mermaids like Ariel and her daughter Melody, who are fond of humans and thus glad to show these boys who love water so much all that there is to see underwater. To make things easier, the mermaids taught them to make use of Oxygenated Underwater Bubbles, making Haruka in particular indescribably happy at how he is not so limited by his lung capacity anymore.
    • Hanging out with the mermaids also led them to eventually meet The Diver, an underwater robot who preserves the aquatic environment. The Diver is not much of a talker and doesn't tend to seek out the company of humans like the mermaids, but she thinks that Haruka and his friends could be a sort of key to the harmony between the human world and the underwater one and is thus willing to guide them in their explorations.
    • Eventually Nagisa (of course) got the idea to get The Diver to help them make friends with their respective symbolic animals. For Haruka this was an easy endeavor, seeing that Ecco is an heroic and pleasant dolphin. The same can be said for Nagisa with penguins; he has loads of fun attempting to tap-dance alongside Mumble or witnessing the Madagascar penguins' crazy schemes. There was also a time when he dragged everybody to the Polar Bear Cafe when he heard a penguin hung out there, and sure enough, he glomped Penguin when he saw him, much to the bird's bewilderment. The whole gang have developed a habit to hang out there after practice. Makoto's animal is the orca and... well... even though The Orca is best friends with The Diver, there wasn't much she could do to convince the human-hating creature that these five boys in particular were fine. Makoto didn't take it to heart and smiled and waved at him from afar. At least, The Orca, usually very violent, leaves them alone. As for Rin, he contented himself with swimming alongside The Diver's Great White companion; sharks are generally unadvisable to try to make friends with. Rei refused to bother with this nonsense, probably because his animal is the non-aquatic butterfly.
  • On the other hand, the Pantheon's oceans also feature a lot of dangerous monsters (such as Lagiacrus and some variations on the Kraken) that wouldn't hesitate to gobble up the boys should they run into them, so they are a bit more conscientious about going in the sea than they would be in their world. Though, the fact that they've made friends out of so many good-hearted aquatic dwellers does mitigate the danger a little, since they are able to warn and protect the boys to a certain extent, and sometimes even dissuade the monsters from acting out.
  • Became friends with Houkago Tea Time after meeting at a club presentation and briefly competing (Nagisa and Ritsu's idea) to see who could put on the better show. After that, the swim club hung out with the Houkago Tea Time girls in the latter's club room, having cake and tea and talking about nothing among themselves. Nagisa started comparing everybody and arrived at the conclusion that he is like Ritsu (as they're both very energetic), Haruka is like Yui (very talented in their respective areas but have their heads in the clouds), Rei is like Mio (always trying to put a stop to their club mates' antics to no effect) and Makoto is like Mugi (both are cheerfully relaxed). Rin is Azusa, because they've run out of members to compare; Rin called out Nagisa for his laziness upon hearing that. Yui in turn proposed that Gou was her sister Ui... because they're both little sisters. Everybody thought that was groanworthy, but good times were had by all as they goofed around.
  • Another group of singers they've made friends with is the idol group Aqours, who coincidentally also hail from a seaside town (the group's water-themed name is no accident, after all). Given the two groups' shared affinity for water, they have agreed to team up on occasion for a show or to promote their relatively sleepy towns. Aqours have noticed that female attendance tends to spike when the Iwatobi boys feature as guests. By the same token, they've been personally invited by Akari, Aika and Alice to visit their homeworld of Neo-Venezia. It was quite difficult to keep Haruka from diving into the canals, but either way, they've become good friends with the Undines in the course of that visit.
  • At one point they were practicing their swimming when Rei suddenly let out a scream; he had come face to face with a little white and purple seal-like creature like he'd never seen before. That was the Gomamon belonging to Joe Kido of the eight Digidestined, who were also in the area and Joe was quick to scold Gomamon for his mischief. Despite the abrupt meeting, the Iwatobi group showed interest in the creatures known as Digimon and talked to the Digidestined at length. The Digidestined do have rather more in common with the swimmers than one might think, because despite their past heroic adventures in another world, they eventually started having to give serious thought to their adult lives in their own world, something the swimmers can relate to. Haruka and Taichi in particular struggled to really take that first step into the adult world, being a little reluctant to let go of their carefree childhoods. Other interactions went as follows:
    • It's not a coincidence that Gomamon decided to pick on Rei, as he looks rather like Joe with his glasses and blue hair. The resemblance also extends to their personalities, as Rei and Joe are both rather nervous and fastidious. Rin finds Matt's aloof behavior obnoxious for someone who has the crest of Friendship, despite Nagisa commenting that Rin was just like him when he was estranged from the group. Matt also distanced himself from the Digidestined in the past, though this doesn't seem to impel Rin and Matt to talk to each other about these similarities, perhaps owing to a sense of shame. Nagisa was mainly interested in cuddling with the Digimon, although he seems to get along with the similarly unfiltered Mimi. Gou hit it off with TK and Kari as they remarked on their older siblings' sometimes foolish behavior. Makoto and Sora quietly bonded, owing to their calm and collected maturity compared to the rest of their groups.
  • The Iwatobi boys are well-known for bringing the beefcake, of which Gou is a true connoisseur (distressingly, she doesn't mind fawning over her own brother in such a way, either). So enthusiastiac is Gou for a well-defined six-pack that she is known to prowl the Halls of the House of Personal Appearance in search of more (some of the deities there consequently think she's kind of a creep). Luckily for her, she quickly found one in the form of Alex Louis Armstrong, who is so proud of his physique that he doesn't mind showing off his muscles for Gou at her request, much to her glee. They make an odd pair for sure, but it's such a symbiotic relationship that nobody minds. That said, the boys aren't really sure what to make of it when Armstrong challenges them to a "flex-off".

  • Enemies: Nobuyuki Sugou, Death Gun, Quinella, All ascended evil Digimon
  • Moriko Morioka is a 30-year old woman who quit her office job and became a NEET due to overwhelming stress and depression. Stumbling onto another MMORPG, Moriko starts the game playing as a male character named Hayashi. After a rough beginning, Hayashi quickly befriends a girl named Lily, who helps him adjust and recruits him to her guild, allowing Hayashi to make more friends. Meanwhile, Moriko has a chance encounter with Yuta Sakurai, who unbeknownst to her, is the player behind Lily.
  • Both were invited into the Pantheon not long after they started going out. The Court of the Gods wanted representatives of Cross Players, and found that both Moriko and Sakurai fit the mark all too well. While stunned by the invitation, the duo accepted and found themselves in the Pantheon, awestruck by its wonders. Moriko and Sakurai soon became excited to meet gods in the Pantheon, and from then on, started living in a temple in the House of Gaming. They still tend to play Fruits de Mer from their temple every now and then, but have learned they can still use their avatars in other games if they like.
  • The two soon became friends with other gamers such as the likes of Kirito and Asuna, Shiroe and Shizuka, and even Sora and Shiro. They were warmly welcomed into the community of gamers, which reminds of their friends from their world. Kirito and Asuna were experienced gamers and served as mentors to Hayashi and Lily, Shizuka once used a male avatar in her game but found it uncomfortable (making her a foil to the pair), and Sora and Shiro are fellow NEETs like Moriko.
    • Kirito and Asuna also supported the pair's relationship and even allow them to hang out with their foster daughter Yui, who comes to see them as good friends and even an honorary aunt and uncle. Both Moriko and Yuta felt honored by this, and even come to dote on Yui herself.
    • Moriko is a sympathetic NEET because while she was good at her job, it was too overwhelming for her to continue, so she needed a hobby to take care of the stress. She proudly calls herself an "elite NEET" since she chose the lifestyle, but is embarrassed when other people find out. Sora and Shiro are also proud of being NEETs, but they reassure her choice isn't exactly a bad one and it's okay to have a hobby to depend on in times of stress.
      • Moriko would also meet a fellow NEET and otaku, Tomoko and Umaru respectively. Tomoko came to enjoy Moriko's company so much, coming see her as a big sister or mother figure since she treated her with kindness. Umaru was also sympathetic towards Moriko when she heard that she became a NEET due to a nervous breakdown at work. All three tend to play games together in their free time, while Umaru and Tomoko also ship Moriko with Sakurai and make bets to see how long it will take for them to tie the knot.
  • The House of Love and Affection noted how Moriko and and Sakurai meetings together in real life and on game all happened coincidentally, actively wondering if fate has actually shipped them together. Nevertheless, they do think they make a good pair together, much to their embarrassment.
  • Sakurai found a kindred spirit in Ann Takamaki, since he felt ostracized for his mixed heritage. Ann sympathizes with him, having felt discriminated by the students at her high school for the same reasons. Both do enjoy playing games with each other, and Ann even ships Sakurai with Morioko
  • Hayashi and Lily are absolutely horrified and disgusted by the likes of Sugou, Quinella, and Death Watch, since they use virtual reality to commit horrible crimes or atrocities against the innocent. While they simply use a normal MMORPG, it doesn't make the three's crimes any less horrific, and they don't have the experience to deal with them.
  • Chiaki Nanami is an avid gamer, so she quickly became friends with duo after learning how they became friends through gaming, similar to herself and Hajime. Chiaki is quite supportive of the duo in their game, providing advice to improve their skills, and she also ships them after seeing how well they get along. The duo appreciate Chaiki's kindness and support, and they also ship her with Hajime after seeing how close the two are.
  • Lan and MegaMan.EXE became quick friends with the duo due to their gaming experience. Both of them are eager to show them how to NetBattle should they ever get their own NetNavi. They also introduced them to Iris, a young and peaceful girl NetNavi that Moriko and Yuta found rather cute. Iris came to see them as Parental Substitutes due to their kindness and also shipped them just like everyone else. She can be seen hanging out with them during their free time, and even decides to enter their MMORPG from time to time.
  • Hayashi and Lily would soon enter the Digimon's world, quickly the befriending Digimon such as Culumon (Yui's partner), HerakleKabuterimon, and even the Royal Knights. The heroic human deities from the Digimon world (especially the likes of the Digidestined) also became good friends with the duo, offering to help them find their own Digimon partner sometime if they ever want to join them in their adventures.
