Cyan (Vo+Gt)

Click here  to see her Myumon form

Voiced By: Eri Inagawa (Japanese), Bryn Apprill (English)

  • Cat Girl: Cat ears, cat tail, Cat Smile, likes setaria - a toy for cat... Yup, in human form, Cyan definitely counts.
  • Cute Little Fangs: A rather appropriate feline trait.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Her interest in antiques reflects her outfit, which consists of a black-and-white frilly dress, Mary-Jane shoes, and a white frilly cloth reminiscent of a maid hat.
  • Nice Girl: She is gentle, unassuming and doesn't like to suspect anybody.
  • Shrinking Violet: Despite her nice personality, she is also quite shy, a Fatal Flaw that she desperately wants to get over.
  • Verbal Tic: She ends a lot of her sentences with -nya, befitting her status as a Cat Girl.

  • Competition Freak: Constantly tries to perfect herself and wins things such as competing against other bands and winning a beauty pageant.
  • Expy: She resembles an idol named Sumire from Anime/Aikatsu, with long lilac hair and gothic-style outfit. Amusingly, her VA's name is Sumire.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Her outfit is mostly purple. Clothing choices aside, she is a very refined, prim and proper kind of girl.
  • Hime Cut: Has straight cut bangs, emphasizing her Proper Lady personality.
  • Ojou Ringlets: Her pale, long lilac hair with curls along the end.
  • Supporting Leader: She's the leader of Plasmagica, but Cyan is the main character.

Gengen (Vo+B)

Voiced By: GEN (Singing), Mitsuki Saiga (Speaking)

  • Catchphrase: Says "Pyon pyon!" (an onomatopoeia for jumping) a lot. The band's fans have adopted it and say it back at fan meetings.

  • Lead Bassist
  • Older than They Look: He looks like a high schooler or younger but he's actually in his mid twenties.
  • Repetitive Name

Kazzed (Gt)

Ryuryu (Gt)

Heikou (D)

The Entire Band

  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: In their first-stage myumon forms; most of them gain shoes as they evolve further, and their UR forms show them in furry, paw-shaped boots.
  • Be Yourself: The conclusion the band comes to in their first episode, when Kanato wonders if they should change their image to stand out among the wackier, more colorful bands of Midicity.
  • Color-Coded Characters: With the exception of their second-stage evolutions, they each stick to a dominant color: Kanato is red-orange, Kikka is blue, Ivary is green, Hideniro is purple, and Maotti is teal. They're represented by these colors in the band's logo as well.
  • Cool Mask: They all have elaborate-looking half-masks in their third evolution.
  • Cute Little Fangs: All their UR forms have them, aside from Hideniro; along with their Facial Markings and furry footwear, the fangs enhance their animal-like appearance further than that of most other characters.
  • Fish out of Water: They came from Brifrancity, Sound Planet's music and arts capital.
    • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: Brifrancity is in "the far west," and Spectrenotes exhibit a fair number of European traits; judging by the name, it's probably meant to correspond to Britain and France.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: They are based on BIGMAMA, who provide their music.
  • Serious Business: They nearly break up due to a fight over how to eat fried eggs.

Ivary (D)

Dark Element Bands

The Entire Band

Crow (Vo+Gt)

Voiced by: Kissho Taniyama (Japanese), Mike McFarland (English)

Rom (D)

Voiced by: Yoshimasa Hosoya (Japanese), Teruyuki Tanzawa (Game), Christopher Sabat (English)

Aion (Gt)

Voiced by: Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese) Junichi Yanagida (Game), Jerry Jewell (English)

  • A God Am I: Downplayed. He proclaims himself as a dark sun god as part of his quirks.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Has white hair in the game proper, but the anime gives him blonde hair instead.
  • Aloof Big Brother: To Ailane.
  • Ambiguous Disorder: It's said that he has a communication disorder, where he needs to pose in order to speak clearly, but his unwillingness to go outside and musical genius could potentially mean that it's something more.
  • Badass Longcoat
  • The Big Guy: He's 192 cm, which makes him the tallest Shingancrimsonz member, if not one of the tallest characters that appears in the show.
  • Hidden Depths: Episode 10 of the second season reveals that there's much more to him than meets the eye.
  • Hikikomori
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy
  • Mr. Imagination: Is known as a chuunibyou in the anime community and slips into A God Am I-like speech or refers to himself as a monster on occasion.
  • Secretly Wealthy: He came from an affluent family, though he has since cut ties with them.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Crow, frequently.
  • White Prince: Displayed the typical traits associated with this trope before he was kicked out of his home.

Yaiba (B)

Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara (Japanese), Mitsuhiro Ichiki (Game) Ian Sinclair (English)

  • Catchphrase: He loves using the word "hence/therefore" (故に), almost to the point of being a Verbal Tic.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Is very dry and sarcastic.
  • Otaku: Mainly for samurai, but he also seems to be a big gamer.
  • Meaningful Name: "Yaiba" means "sword," which he has an affinity for to the point of his bass being shaped like one.
  • Motor Mouth: It gets where Yaiba is constantly interrupted by others.
  • Smoking Is Cool: Can be seen holding a cigarette in his ingame sprite and some of his cards; he switches it out for a kiseru further down the band's evolution line.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: He does not wear a shirt underneath his jacket.

     Demons Venom

The Entire Band

Demonbat (Vo)

Voiced By: SeshiroX

  • Beast Man: Notably retains his fur in his UR form; he borders between this and Little Bit Beastly.
  • Cool Mask: Subverted; he wears a fairly silly-looking one when practicing BDSM.
  • Has a Type: Almost literally; he only wants someone with AB type blood for a bride. Mummy points out at one point that he's being too picky.
  • The Leader
  • Odd Friendship: With Kanato. They strike up a friendship after playing a show together, and Demonbat appreciates how easy it is to scare Kanato.
  • Sadist: Somewhat downplayed as there is very little mention of it within the game itself, outside of his official profile and one bromide.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Type AB blood.

Demonmangu (Gt)

Demonsmog (B)

Tasmaniandemon (Key)

  • Canon Foreigner: Silhouette from the Skylit doesn't have a fifth member or a keyboard player.
  • The Fashionista
  • Odd Name Out: Only band member whose name does not start with "Demon", and the only non-canon band member.

Wood Element Bands

The Entire Band

  • Bishōnen
  • Fan Community Nickname: In-Universe, Shu☆Zo refers to the band's fans as Dream Galaxy Tourists, and the fans seem to use it to refer to themselves as well.
  • Rock Trio: Shu☆Zo is the guitarist/vocalist, Riku is the bassist, and Kai is the drummer.
  • The Rival: They are this to Arcareafact and Shingancrimsonz.

Shu☆Zo (Vo+Gt)

Voiced by: Mamoru Miyano (Anime), Daisuke Kasuya (Game), Vic Mignogna (English, S1-2), Zeno Robinson (English, Stars!!)

  • Accidental Misnaming: He can never seem to pronounce anyone's band names right when he meets them.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Same as Rom's entry.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: His jerk side usually only comes out whenever Rom's around.
  • Cartoon Creature: He is one of the only characters who is not clearly a particular species of animal, and Sanrio hasn't officially stated what animal he is either. It's said that he is forbidden by his agency to talk about his species.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: Back when he was in a band with Rom.
  • Lucky Charms Title: His stage name is spelled with a star in the middle of it.
  • Mysterious Past: His past with Rom and what caused them to break up hasn't been revealed. And Shuzo himself refuses to talk about the past.
  • Say It With Stars: Nearly every time he opens his mouth, his sentences are decorated with stars.
  • Stepford Smiler: He is still very upset about whatever happened between him and Rom.

Kai (D)

Voiced by: Ryota Ohsaka (Japanese), Ricco Fajardo (English)

Riku (B)

Voiced by: Ayumu Murase (Japanese), Micah Solusod (English)

Pokoe (Key)

Voiced by: Marumi Koike (Japanese), Ashleigh Domangue (English)

Hakkun (B)

Voiced by: Tomoya Kosaka (Japanese), Kyle Phillips (English)

  • Ambiguously Bi: Although he has shown interests in girls, Hakkun has fascination towards Hunk characters.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Implied. He quickly classifies some of the female band members into common anime archetypes, most obvious in the episode where Plasmagica and Uwasa no Petals are in the same concert.
  • Childhood Friends: With Shibarin.
  • The One Guy

Kittsun (D)

Voiced by: Nozomi Furuki (Japanese), Tia Ballard (English)

     Dropout Sensei

Then Entire Band

  • Japanese Beetle Brothers: The band members include a stag beetle, rhinoceros beetle, and a lady bug.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Somewhat subverted their music is provided by a real band called Asstellus, but the characters are not really based around them. However, Dropout Sensei is more based around Asstellus' music.
  • Rock Trio

Kuwagatatsuya (Vo+Gt)

  • Badass Baritone: He has the deepest voice out of all the singers, ironically he's in universe the youngest male singer.

Kabutomoaki (B)

Tentoumutsumi (D)

  • Badass Cape: Has one in most of his outfits.
  • Canon Foreigner: Asstellus doesn't have a third member, or an official drummer. This case is more justified than Tasmanian Demon's inclusion because Dropout Sensei isn't really based off of Asstellus.
  • Freudian Trio: The ego.
  • The Generic Guy: Claims to have been this before joining the band.
  • Sempai/Kouhai: The kouhai to Tatsuya and Tomoaki's senpai.

     Dolly Dolci

The Entire Band

Candylapin (Vo)

Voiced by: Mikoi Sasaki (Japanese), Alex Moore (English)

Chokyu-Ruiyu (Gt)

Creamteddy (B)

  • Not a Morning Person
  • Sleepyhead: She falls asleep in the middle of conversations. She's almost always found sleeping. This actually caused the band to hold a concert without her at one point.

Pigmacaron (D)

Voiced by: Izumi Chiba (Japanese), Terri Doty (English)

  • Early-Bird Cameo: In the anime, she's seen in the audience during season 1 concerts long before her proper introduction in season 2.
  • Fangirl: Of Trichronika.
    • And most other male bands, actually. During one of the school events, she meets with Dropout Sensei and she immediately develops a crush on all 3 of them. Tentoumutsumi ends up developing a crush on her too, though Pigmacaron has already left when this was revealed.
    • Even after finding out that Lyna is a girl, she still ends up thinking about her.

Ge Furocchi (Ba)

Voiced By: Getti

Shakky (Dr)

The Entire Band

  • Bland-Name Product: Each of them has a signature fashion item from a label transparently based on a real one. For example, Kuuska always wears his stole from "Madidas."

Lycao (Vo+Ba)

Voiced by: Makoto Furukawa
  • Face of a Thug: He looks menacing and unapproachable, but is actually quite shy and prone to laughing quietly to himself at inopportune times.
  • Lead Bassist
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: His signature garment is his designer suit.
  • Verbal Tic: Tends to tack "...desu" onto the ends of plain form sentences, covering for his own lack of formality.

Jalope (Gt)

Kuuska (Key)

  • Japanese Pronouns: Refers to himself as "booku," as a form of personal branding.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Known for his quick thinking skills and commitment to social networking. And of course, wears glasses.

     Studdo Ban Gyasshu

Cheety (Vo+Gt)

Voiced By: Saori Hayashi (2013), Sae Aiuchi (2018-)

Lyna (B)

  • Bifauxnen
  • Even the Girls Want Her: In fact, she may be single-handedly the reason why the band has so much (in-game) fans in the first place. Also, interesting to note that even the anime lists this band as just being below Trichronika, which is the most popular band and composed mostly of fangirls.
    • At one point, a rabid fangirl of almost all male characters, Pigmacaron of Dolly Dolci, actually gets a crush on Lyna. Cue her gasps and conflicting inner monologues when she finds out that Studdo Banggyashu is a girls band.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Cheety's girly girl.
  • Workaholic: Dislikes off days.

Zebrina (Key)

  • Gamer Chick: Zebrina is known to be one of the most hardcore gamers in MIDI City. During one event, she invites the entire band to hang out at her house. They let the others play video games, but everyone gets slightly pissed at her after she let everyone start with difficult levels.
  • The Stoic
  • Techno Wizard: She can program computers.

Fennely (D)

     Tekebakitsu Shou

The Entire Band

  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: They are based around a real band called Usotsuki that provides their music.
  • Sdrawkcab Name: Their name can be (and often is) read as "Tekebakitsusou;" when the syllables are reversed, it spells "usotsukibakete," which can be translated as "Usotsuki appearing in disguise."
  • Youkai: Except for Fujiraid, who's a real animal, their species come from Japanese folklore.

Takeppar (Vo+Gt)

Voiced By: Masakazu Takeda

  • Barefoot Cartoon Animal: In myumon form. In human form, he gets shoes shaped like webbed feet.
  • Catchphrase: "Tekebakitsu Shou's flickering flame live, start!" before live shows.
  • Cranky Neighbor: To the rest of the band, though he doesn't give them quite as much of a hard time as he did at first.
  • Does Not Like Spam: Ironically, he dislikes spicy food.
  • First-Person Perspective: His thoughts, and only his, are relayed to the reader in the band's episodes.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's often rude to others and complains about just about everything, but his bandmates point out that he may care too much for his own good. Indeed, the complaints he files are usually made out of genuine concern.
  • Kappa: Specifically, a fire kappa.
  • Removable Shell: His is a backpack.
  • The Snark Knight: Threatening to file a complaint borders on being his Catchphrase, but he gets flustered at earnest compliments.
  • Sweet Tooth
  • Talking to Plants: Known to talk to small flowers growing by the side of the road.
  • Verbal Tic: Ends his sentences with "-paa."

Fujireido (B)

Yoshiten (Gt)

Takubaning (D)

  • A-Cup Angst
  • Crazy-Prepared: She's always wearing her school swimsuit under her clothes, just in case the opportunity to swim arises.

  • Genki Girl
  • Japanese Delinquents: She’s cast as one in the Show By Rock!! Academy event; her cards show her painting graffiti on the buildings, and he episodes have her getting into a fight with A.

Voiced By: Hikaru Tono (Japanese), Macy Johnson (English)
  • Country Mouse: Howan comes from a village somewhere at the mountains.
  • Modern Major General: If her housekeeping skills at Himeko and Reijing Signal's apartments are any indication, Howan seems more suited to being a professional cook, cleaner or even a housewife than being a band member.

  • Tsundere: Initially standoffish towards Howan but grows to see her as a faithful companion.
