Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

@Gehayadren, this is not the place for that, you should know that by now.

@RJ, some suggestions to Palpatine, I'll list them in bullet points. Be warned, it's a lot.

  • I don't see Megatron taking any interest in Palpatine in any manner outside of being a rival for galactic dominance, or simply being an outright enemy. Megatron's morality varies, so there are some standards, Palpatine has little to none. Some information about the Lukas Universal Cluster indicate that the Empire were enemies with both the Autobots and Decepticons. Finally there was one universe where Palpatine managed to defeat the Rebels and continued to make more Superweapons, but then Unicron eat the universe.
  • I suggest removing the mention of Ian McDiarmid and Palpatine taking a liking to Satan (Paradise Lost) because of it. We stopped making relations because of Actors and Voice Actors a long time ago.
  • Palpatine is more likely to admire Godzilla than be nervous of it. He didn't regret bringing the Zillo Beast to Coruscant, he only regretted that it escaped before he made further use of it, he did order it to be cloned after all.
  • If Palpatine is interested in the Infinity Gauntlet, then he should definitely be interested in The Throne that's in Maximum Security.
  • I'm not sure about Zapdos, because Palpatine isn't the only one to use Lightning for evil. On the paragraph of Palpatine's power, I think it's worth mentioning that he's also one of the greatest Lightsaber Duelist in history. Easily able to instantly eliminate some of the best in the Jedi Order, all while personally looking down on the very concept of Lightsaber combat. He's essentially the Master of All when it came to Dark Side of the Force, there was little he didn't know, or master, and there are a lot of Dark Side Abilities. With the full extent of his use, power and connection to the Dark Side of the Force, Palpatine was more Humanoid Abomination than simply a powerful Force User. He wasn't completely exaggerating by claiming to be "All the Sith".
    • In Star Wars Legends he was even more powerful. By Dark Empire, his level of power was reaching Lovecraft levels, becoming a nexus of the Dark Side and threatening reality just by existing.
  • Finally there are more Galactic themed and associated characters for Palpatine to interact with, most are just enemies though. There's the Interstellar Alliance Advisory Board, The Federation Starfleet, the Ultras, Zordon, the Power Rangers, and the surprisingly large amount of Space Marines, Space Cops and Space Superheroes.

Okay. Just gonna let this out now. I have two candidates from Magical Boy that I wish to nominate. Reading it for the third time to finding adequate tropes.

  • Max Owen, Deity of Trans Tribulations
    • With J.J. Mackenzie not likely to be ascended, I'm putting out my own.
    • Reasoning: Max Owen is a born-woman who identifies as a man, but just as he came out to his parents about this, his mother also came out as coming from a line of Magical Girls, and wants to shove her "daughter" back in the closet due to her belief in the fact that an image of femininity powers the transformation. Still, Max struggled against that notion anyway while also handling the demons of Devoid that were running loose and attempting to break the seal made by Aurora to keep him in check. Oh, and the community's opinions against LGBT due to an influential pastor.
  • Pyper Ryland, High Prophetess of Queer Children of Pastor Parents
    • Reasoning: Pyper's the daughter of the local pastor, who is strictly anti-LGBT, and she is an Armoured Closet Gay to boot. Due to events involving the Magical Boy after he rescued her from demons, she comes to terms with her sexuality, that it's NOT sinful, and becomes a steadfast ally of the trans male Max Owen (said Magical Boy), and probably started dating her old childhood friend Jen. While her father was naturally livid and tried to disown her after his congregation outed her, after the outbreak of demons from reasons unrelated to faith, and one of them thanking him for his hatred fueling them, he's starting to turn his views around.

[up] Abstaining. Maybe they're not bad ideas, but I'd like to see what others think about them before I can drop a proper consensus.

Queen Elizabeth II just passed away at the age of 96. If you want to talk further about the queen, then go to the General RIP Thread.

I'm saying this because some weeks ago, I actually had an idea of bringing London in as a domain to represent Britain Is Only London and maybe Victorian London as it tends to be one of the most recurring cities in any fictional works, let alone those in the UK, and most people tend to be only familiar with the UK because of London, which might be because of the number of elements that are affiliated with the city, such as the British Monarchy, London Underground, several myths and fairy tales being set there and a lot more. I should also note that there have been fictionalized iterations of London and they can be incorporated in some way in the event London does become a Pantheonic Domain.

Keep in mind that this isn't a nominating suggestion, but just double-checking to make sure of things.

That said, given the Queen's death, would it be most advised if I held back on the idea for at least a week/month or two in case this sounds too much like Hype? Just asking.

I'll make some suggestions soon, but I've decided to get this out of the way. Here's the (I guess so) long-awaited beta draft for the metal band, Slayer. I'll do some independent research regarding band members though I'd be pleased if someone is willing to help out on that front. Given what their lyrics are about, any specific serial killers, Nazis, warmongerers, and particularly vile and depraved people that they could be inspired to write songs about? That, and any Metalheads or Metal appreciators in the Pantheon as well as those who would be intimidated by their sound or would condemn them for simply having "Satanic" songs?

Of course, any other suggestions and ideas are welcome.

Note: I've used red text on the top part as a way to give the paragraph a sort of dark, ominous feel. Also, the text themselves are actually opening lyrics to the song, Hell Awaits as I felt that would be an interesting way to start up their profile. Also, as to why "Su nioJ" ("Join us" spelled backwards) is written 66 times, it was said in that many amount of times. I'm open to changing it if anyone feels this is not really warranted or not really allowed though.

  • Heavy Metal; that one genre that takes the speed and energy of Rock Music and quickens its pace alongside adding a sense of gloominess and aggression to it. Now, take what is already established, further its speed, make its sound even more aggressive, employ shouting, and make your lyrics very dark, visceral, and about mature subject matters. That's what results in Thrash Metal, which takes the technicality of Metal, amplifies its already aggressive nature, and adds in elements of Punk Rock and Hardcore Punk giving it a very angry and chaotic sound and feeling to it. While Venom may have established it first and others like Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax made the genre widespread, none of them have codified the genre's overall aggression, speed, and ferociousness more than Slayer. Formed in 1981 and having a humble start as a cover band, Slayer began their true work with 1983's Show No Mercy where they showcased their signature playing style, but it was 1986's Reign in Blood that really solidified Slayer as among Metal's greatest bands thanks to it's frightening and voracious sound, lyrics, and high energy, catapulting the band into the "Big Four of Thrash Metal". While the band had its number of hiccups, including members shifting, having to deal with Moral Guardians, their work suffering from a critical and commercial drop in the mid-late 1990s, and the death of guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013, Slayer's reputation and influence persevered, with their content even laying out the blueprint for future Death Metal and Black Metal acts. Slayer would release twelve albums and disband in 2019, by which then they were seen as one of the greatest and most important Heavy Metal artists ever.
  • Of course, even after they disbanded, Slayer would, of course, remain a highly influential band, and this even persisted onto the Pantheon, who acknowledged Slayer's reputation, despite their own music being something that not everyone was intonote . On one particular day, each of the band's last lineup, consisting of founders, bassist and lead vocalist Tom Araya, guitarist Kerry King, and additional members, guitarist Gary Holtnote , and drummer Paul Bostaphnote  received a note that told them that they were invited to play together at a venue in Huntington Beach, California, where Slayer first formed. Despite some conflicting thoughts over the matter, the four banded together under the Slayer label and performed towards a crowd of thousands. At the end of the concert, Slayer was told that because of their influence, they were mentioned by who they assumed to be the Trope Pantheons and that they were said to have ascended into their ranks with the band representing Thrash Metal. With the announcement, the audience cheered as Slayer began to make plans for what they were going to do in a new world where they were seen as deities of sorts, something that felt polarizing for them.
  • Of course, Slayer is one of the most popular Metal bands in the Pantheon, even if their sales don't say otherwise, and it is reflective of just how incremental they are to the Metal genre as a whole and with the way they've marketed their music. Some of Slayer's more dedicated fans wanted the band to become the main Metal representatives of the House of Musicality and replace Corey Taylor. All things considered, Slayer were rather humble with Corey's spot and they were okay with where they were. As expected with their music, they have a rather scary reputation with music fans, but most of the bandmates have been said to be rather Nice Guys in private and they, in return, tend to be very interactive and supportive of their fans. It's a rather stark contrast with the sort of music they play as well as their lyrical themes which tend to consist of dark subject matter like murder, cults, war, and Satanism.

It has potential. Victorian London seems like the more interesting choice as a Domain but for Modern London, not sure, maybe if you can give a list of deities who would have connected with the place that would help one whether it could be a Domain.

Yeah, give it like 1-2 months.

Also, I agree with M1gamiTensei, I would even put the Queen herself in Hype Prevention Sandbox as well even if she is not the creator per say, she has a huge cultural impact in pop culture that would easily fill a full profile for, imo.

@The Anti-Life Equation

Similar believers, witnesses and takers of free will are:

  • Light Yagami - initially believes this before his motive decay. Perphaps the equation could give him another opportunity at being God of the New World?
  • The Dark Judges - since they believe that living itself is crime, perphaps they want to take this equation to futher their goals.
  • Captain Beatty - considering he is from a world where book are burned because they contain upsetting opinions, perphap he is interested in this for his goals in removing anything that upsets people
  • While not a believer, Rick and Morty would remind the equation of Unity who uses her hive mind to conquer planets so that they can be more productive. Summer probably believes this, since she has seen what happens when Unity's control was remove but I don't think she would actively take the equation.
  • White Diamond formerly believes this, which is why Steven and the other Crystal Gems Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst would probably be nervous by this equation.

My only other cliques are to add more names the relationship list you can get a thumb on your next post.

@The White Martians I can't think of anything to add and your profile looks fine alright, and if you don't have more ideas for them, how about a [tup]?

  • Domains: Anti-Life, Tyranny, Non-Sentience, Subversion of Will, Emptiness, Negative Emotion
  • Current owner: Uxas/Darkseid
  • Former wielders: The Anti-Monitor, Orion
  • Source of interest to: The Harbingers Of Repression, the Grand United Alliance of Law
  • There is a mathematical formula feared above all others. A concept that was long since deduced by the Lord of Apokolips and is his ultimate goal to obtain, allowing him to finally eliminate The Evils of Free Will. Martian scholars posed the idea that there is an equation of sorts that proves life has meaning..so Darkseid wondered if there was an antithesis. The Anti-Life Equation implants the mathematical uncertainty that life is meaningless and the concepts of freedom and hope are futile into its victims, dooming them to despair and thus bending them to the will of the User. In return for corrupting the user into committing terrible atrocities (the very act of possessing or using the Equation is inherently evil), the Equation grants the User reality-warping abilities that distort freedom over life and death. And if Darkseid has its way with it, ALL WILL BE ONE IN DARKSEID.
  • As of the Final Crisis, Darkseid has the Anti-Life Equation. Well, his true, core self has it. Fortunately this knowledge hasn't transferred to all his emanations and avatars yet. His son Orion once had it, but gave it up out of dread and disgust. One version of Darkseid was imprisoned on the Source Wall for witnessing it. Another corrupted the formula with the Black Racer, creating the Anti-Living zombie Mind Virus. Another emanation of Darkseid learned what everyone else in that setting knew (they're comic book characters) and concluded the Anti-Life Equation is the fact characters are completely susceptible to reboots, retcons and Executive Meddling. After learning he was just a toy in a Youtube series, Darkseid doesn't want to talk about this theory anymore.
  • The Equation has no single shape or form. It most often appears as a mass of alien glyphs and symbols, but as an equation, it can also be written down on a piece of paper, transmitted as computer code, and even be carved into the surface of Planet Earth. As a result, the Equation possess incredible virality and if used, can infect an entire planet within hours through every means of communication imaginable. To the primitive eye, the formula appears deceptively simple, which adds to its danger. Simply saying the string of words making up the Equation out loud will activate it and immediately affect every sentient being in close proximity, distorting the surrounding environment in seconds. As for the Equation itself...
    • Origin-wise, it is believed to come from the Antimatter Universe and cursed Mobius into becoming the Anti-Monitor...at least, that's the most well-known origin. Another theory is that it is utilized by Fifth Dimensional Imps as how they actually warp reality. More specifically it was theorized by Darkseid when the Joker stole Mr Mxyzptlk's powers. Supposedly the imp gave Darkseid a copy: Mister Mxyzptlk + Bat-Mite = Anti-life. The only one who has seen it for sure is Darkseid and it provoked an uncontrollable laughing fit from the New God.
    • WARNING: DO NOT READ: loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding x guilt x shame x failure x judgment n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side. Simply saying this string of words will activate the Equation, regardless of whether you even know of the Equation or what it does, or have the intention to use it.
  • The SCP Foundation takes preventing anyone and anything from ever learning the Anti-Life Equation very seriously as they consider it a major infohazard. They've dealt with hundreds of SCPs which work on a similar principle and they believe the Anti-Life Equation is closest in nature to SCP-3125. For those wondering, "The Escapee" is an Eldritch Abomination who if perceived enough will replace someone's mind with only wanting to be dedicated to and spread the anomaly's influence and concept. One can only hope that Darkseid never gains access to other info/cognito/memetic hazards the SCP Foundation has secured, lest he try to enhance the Equation.
  • Among the pantheon's high brass Cosmos and Lucifer have called the Anti-Life Equation absolutely immoral, finding for once they agree one something strongly; the inherent value of freedom and personal autonomy. Gaea regards it as abhorrent, and Khorne detests the Equation as it would rob someone of all true emotion and thus starve him, and the rest of the Chaos Gods. On the opposite end Melkor, YHVH and Zamasu want it to be theirs over Darkseid. Melkor himself wants mortals to retain free will as he feels that way they will suffer more, but finds the Equation undeniably useful for his evil. YHVH want the Equation the most and is intensely jealous of Darkseid for finding it. Zamasu meanwhile believes the only way mortals can be worthy of life is by using the Anti-Life Equation to be an extension of his own will.
  • The Equation can be spread through all forms of electronic media. It's for this reason that Darkseid has decided to try and influence the Grand United Alliance of Machines. Though many of them boast that not being organic makes them immune, there's no evidence for this. Due to its Control Freak tendencies, SKYNET wants to incorporate the Anti-Life Equation under its control as this would prevent anyone from threatening its existence. Surprising the Lord of Apokolips, SKYNET and some other members of the GUAM thought of the idea of spreading Anti-Life through music; given his hatred of music, Darkseid half-suspects they're mocking him with their unorthodox strategy.
  • Many within Darkseid's own Harbingers Of Repression seek the Anti-Life Equation. The Lord of Apokolips is well-aware that Sauron is eying up the Equation as an extreme version of his whole rings of power plan, for instance. Different members of the group have their different ideas for how they would utilize the Equation should they take it from the Treasury or somehow outwit Darkseid. The god of tyranny keeps an eye on all of them as he's more than experienced dealing with Starscreams, but he is still amused by their talking.
    • The Anti-Spiral believes that the Anti-Life Equation is the antithesis to Spiral Power. While Darkseid knows the grim consequences of the Anti-Life Equation and doesn't care, the Anti-Spiral seems to genuinely believe it's better than a universe that could potentially destroy itself. Moebius plans to put it into his whole hypnotism, while Alduin hopes to learn the Equation in the Dragon Language
    • Shao Khan is tempted by the Anti-Life Equation, but deep down part of him wonders if ruling an existence with only his will would be what he truly wants. He has had visions of worlds where he won, only to grow mad from boredom with nothing left to conquer. Of course being a self-absorbed Myopic Conqueror, it's exceedingly rare for him to think about this for more than five minutes. Other deities like Cooler are more open about how while they find the Anti-Life Equation useful, wouldn't rely on it to rule as they'd find it boring. Admittedly this might just be to keep Darkseid from being too concerned over them.
    • Big Brother is more willing to keep to himselfnote  as he is satisfied with only dominating Oceania without end. His own use of Thought Crime and other tactics of oppression and breaking people's spirits initially made Darkseid wonder if INGSOC had found a piece of the Anti-Life Equation and was unconsciously using it; the fact they didn't need anything supernatural to come close to emulating the Equation is why the New God respects their institution.
  • Outside of Darkseid's organization, the Anti-Life Equation is considered important to those living in the Hall of Mind Control. Yuri absolutely wants to take the Anti-Life Equation for himself and transmit it in his mind control devices; Darkseid doesn't remotely see him as a threat, but does think he could be useful for developing the next generation of Justifiers. For Yuri this is probably for the best as he has tried to find people with parts of the Anti-Life Equation in them and experiment on them. One deity that almost found itself dissected in his research was the Hypnotoad, only to conclude to not be connected to the Equation as if its hypnosis can't get past Fry's mind, there's no way it can be connected to something as potent as the Equation.
  • It shouldn't be understated that the Anti-Life Equation cannot be used for good due to how inherently repressive it is. Though Darkseid regards Nerose Satanel as a walking, talking Anti-Life Equation he finds that statement offensive; despite burning out free will, it resulted in a utopian society; a society built on the Anti-Life Equation could in no way be seen as utopian. Darkseid admits this, but he also pointed out just like himself his actions mean he disregards the actual desires of people over how he thinks the universe SHOULD be run.
  • Given the inherently evil nature of the Anti-Life Equation, it's safe to say anyone who wants to get it for themselves either doesn't understand how bad it is, or does and are just as terrible as Darkseid. Jyggalag fits the former since as a truly inflexible God of Order, the idea the Anti-Life Equation is evil is incomprehensible to him. The other Daedric Princes (besides Molag Bal of course) regard the Anti-Life Equation as horrifying and/or antithetical and hope that Jyggalag never gets even the smallest piece of the Anti-Life Equation.
  • There are a bunch of deities in the House of Leadership like Horde Prime and IT, who'd have no moral standards against using the Anti-Life Equation should they ever gain it. The only time multiple people had the complete Anti-Life Equation may have been the Anti-Monitor and Darkseid fighting, the former using it in an offensive form, so naturally the Lord of the Apokolips keeps a close watch on them. After talking with SKYNET Sigma wants to modify the Anti-Life Equation into his viral essence, in effect embodying the Anti-Life Equation. Darkseid considers such an idea laughable as he believes all his attempted assimilation with the Equation would do is cause a horrible Fate Worse than Death for his computer code.
  • The only way to counteract the Equation are the concepts of freedom and hope, which in the Pantheon, can come in a variety of forms. It's for this reason that Darkseid wants to destroy the optimism half of the Hall of Optimism and Pessimism...well wants to destroy it moreso. Figures like Auriel find the Anti-Life Equation as completely antithetical to everything they believe. Due to its intrinsically repressive nature, the Anti-Life Equation is something the Chaos side of the Hall of Order and Chaos thoroughly, as does the Hall of Rebellion and Revolution. Some joke that besides freedom and hope, Leeroy Jenkins is able to counteract the Equation through sheer stubborn stupidity. The joke lasted until someone was dumb enough to say that to Darkseid's face.
    Darkseid: "That. Wasn't. Funny".
  • The Life Equation appears to be the one certain counter for the Anti-Life Equation, as in its true form the Life Equation proves life is worth living. It may be derivable from the White Light of creation the Entity created. A possibly related formula is the Anti-Death Equation; used by the Gentry, it appears to turn people into warped and gruesome forms unable to die. Nothing else is known right now, and time will tell if a Death Equation also exists. Someone tried to ask Death of the Endless on the different Equations, but she hasn't said a word about it.
  • Though a member of the Harbingers of Repression, AM feels he may like the Anti-Death Equation more than the Anti-Life Equation. After all, as much as he agrees with Darkseid on crushing the spirit he speculates that the Anti-Death Equation might just give the humans he hates more suffering than the Anti-Life Equation. AM also muses that had he gained the Anti-Life Equation before Darkseid, he would be perfectly willing to trade it should Darkseid give the Omega Sanction to him. While this might be AM's way of brown-nosing to Darkseid, there's a good chance he's being honest.
  • Horrifyingly, there are rumors that Darkseid wants to use other items in the same Hall of Maximum Security to amplify the Anti-Life Equation into something truly unstoppable that will lead the omniverse itself under his boot. These include taking the Throne for himself, leaving nothing left behind of the old cosmos with the Chaos Heart, and spread Anti-Life across time with Kronika's Hourglass. Any one of these prospects fills any sane deity with dread and the only reason they remain rumors is that Darkseid is unsure if doing so would backfire, so he has to be safe first. That and as powerful as he is, there are even stronger forces who won't let him get close. What he does know is that like the Life Equation, the Pure Hearts are a threat to the Anti-Life Equation and he plans to destroy them.

Arle Nadja, Amite, & Ringo Andou, Divine Trio of Falling Block Puzzles (Arle: Silvana)

  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Blond, Brunette, Redhead
  • Domains: Puzzles, Magic

  • Allies: Sonic the Hedgehog, Kirby, Sig, Lemres, Lip, Akko Kagari, Mystery Inc.
  • Enemies: Dr. Eggman
  • Hated by: The Slime Family
  • On good terms with: Rafisol
  • Special Relations: Dark Prince, Schezo Wegey (mainly for Arle)
  • The world of Puyo Puyo is one filled with all kinds of weird individuals (and even the ones that appear sane in comparison have their own quirks). Among the most prominent members of that world are Arle Nadja, a spellcaster who has gone on some adventures of her own before engaging in Puyo Puyo, Amite, an airheaded but kindhearted student from Primp Town, and Ringo Andou, a student from Suzuran City and is more than aware of how oddball things can get. The way Puyo Puyo battles (which are often used to handle whatever problem is happening at the moment) work is as follows: a group of multi-colored Puyos fall onto a field and matching four or more of the same color will clear them out. Chains of Puyo will result in more garbage Puyo thrown at the field of the opponent(s) and whenever someone's field gets full, they lose.
  • Life went on as normal for Ringo in Suzuran City when something fell from the sky, signaling the start of yet another adventure for her. Arle and Amite arrived at that place once more and Ringo noticed that not only were Puyos falling from the sky, but so were a multitude of objects that weren’t familiar to any of them. While investigating this incident with their friends, they learned that a messenger was among those that ended up in the Puyo worlds and that they had a message to send to Ringo and her friends in regards to what was happening at the moment. Ringo and the others eventually caught up to that messenger and found themselves in yet another incident where the Puyo worlds would merge with an unfamiliar world, only in this case, it would be related to something known as the Pantheon. They were able to prevent the merger and by extension, another apocalyptic event, but considering how strange the Pantheon was, Ringo and her friends were more than welcome to visit that larger world and the other worlds associated with it any time they wanted.
  • Arle, Amite, Ringo, and their friends and frenemies weren’t the only ones who engaged in Puyo battles as they learned while getting used to the large world of the Pantheon. A few entities present there had played in such battles beforehand, though the Puyos were sometimes referred to by different names (and in one instance, Timon and Pumbaa were able to get bugs to behave like Puyos as part of their activities in the jungle) to the trio’s confusion. When word of an avalanche spread throughout the Pantheon, Ringo and her friends managed to find Kirby, who happened to be near that avalanche of Puyo blobs and the quartet was able to clear it out. Kirby’s experience with Puyos involved a tournament set up by King Dedede that various participants from Dream Land took part in, with Kirby taking part and ultimately winning the Cup. In some ways, Arle noticed that Dedede was similar to her frenemies in that he comes off as a nuisance to Kirby, but will help out whenever things get dire and she, alongside Amite and Ringo, easily befriended Kirby since that avalanche incident.
  • Sonic and Dr. Eggman were other entities who knew about Puyos fairly well, with Eggman having attempted to use them as part of a world domination scheme. Eggman later attempted to use Dark Prince in a separate plan, but that ended up failing thanks to the efforts of Sonic, his allies and the denizens of the Puyo world, with Dark Prince hating Eggman over that particular incident. Unlike Dedede, Eggman was a legitimate danger to the Pantheon despite his eccentricities, though Sonic has been successful in thwarting his plans, with the hedgehog even using Puyo Puyo to defeat Eggman in a battle at one point. Sonic is versatile in battle, and with the help of Arle and her friends, he’s been refining his Puyo skills in case Eggman attempts to use Puyos (or mean beans as they’re sometimes referred to) in his plans again.
  • There are a number of Puyo Puyo arcade machines present in the Pantheon for others to try out that game as Kazuma Kiryu had done in his free time (alongside other Sega games). Not only do these machines exist for those willing to play the game but not engage others in magic duels doing so, but Arle and her friends have met plenty of other characters at different points. Not only did this include having Sonic tag along again, but so were a plethora of characters from worlds far removed from the Puyo world’s strange whimsy. Arguably even weirder than having Subaru Natsuki, Ichigo Kurosaki, some of the Sailor Senshi, and the EVA pilots among others getting involved in the Puyo world was Arle and her numerous acquaintances cosplaying as characters from those outside worlds. Incidentally the denizens of the Puyo world have multiple costumes outside of their normal ones and the ones inspired by outside worlds, but wearing such unusual costumes is something that would happen when things don’t get too busy for them.
  • While Lip doesn’t use Puyo Puyo as her default means of puzzle games, she is someone who Arle and her friends were able to get along with because of how she mixes spells and puzzle blocks. Where Puyo Puyo involves chaining Puyos together before the field gets filled, Lip’s puzzle field is rising and needs to get rid of pieces and come up with a good combo to make things more difficult for her opponents. Having already had experience with a different type of puzzle in Tetris, Arle and her friends were intrigued with Lip’s preferred method of puzzle battles. While there were plenty of other types of puzzle battles out there, some of which are utilized by some Pantheonic denizens and some that may be more difficult than what they were used to, Arle and her friends have a fairly good understanding of how Lip’s game works much like how they were able to understand Tetris in a relatively short period of time.
  • One of the more recurring problems the trio had to deal with was related to brainwashing, with Arle herself being a victim of it and becoming Dark Arle at one point due to a mysterious entity known as Ecolo. While Ecolo is now considered to be more of an annoyance than a threat despite his desire for fun posing a major risk towards others, there are far more dangerous entities capable of brainwashing others in the Pantheon and defeating them won’t be nearly as simple as a Puyo battle. Besides possessing others (the strength of which may be weaker or stronger than what Arle and the others were used to witnessing), there are devices designed and psychological methods of brainwashing others, some of which are far more dire than simply possessing someone and if Arle was already a victim of possession, she certainly doesn’t want to be brainwashed another way. Given the multitude of villains with brainwashing specialties present, Arle and her friends have taken the help of Lip (who already was prepared for the possibility of her friends being brainwashed) to stop such instances from spreading, especially if it means preventing Arle from becoming a worse version of Dark Arle.
  • What was supposed to be a normal practice round of Puyo Puyo among the group took a strange turn when different types of slimes ended up getting mixed in with the Puyos. Those slimes happened to be part of a family of Slimes and the ones that ended up on that playing field happened to be the weaker members of that group. Arle and the rest of her Puyo-playing friends and frenemies are annoyed at how these Slimes end up intruding on the Puyo battles (with Ringo in particular questioning how these Slimes get mixed up alongside the Puyos), but the Slimes are horrified to learn about people who specialize in popping slimes as a means to utilize spells. There are stronger members of the Slime family that are less likely to get involved in such a mess, but with it comes stronger spells and methods to deal with them, even if it ends up frustrating whoever has to deal with them.
  • As skilled as a spellcaster Arle is, she has a tendency of getting targeted by Dark Prince and Schezo; the former due to him wanting to win her heart, and the latter apparently wanting her power for himself in spite of how he words things. While she has no serious animosity towards the two despite how annoying they can get, there were other people persistently targeting others for romantic reasons that Arle had no room for tolerance towards. Gaston was one such person who Arle saw as problematic as while Dark Prince at least has his moments of clarity when things get dire (provided he has nothing to do with whatever is going on), Gaston never took the hint about Belle not being interested and went as far as trying to kill the Beast, who Belle fell in love with, despite the Beast becoming a better person thanks to Belle. As much as the squabbles between Dark Prince and Schezo over Arle get on her nerves, she knows that the two aren’t completely an issue in that they’ve tried not to be like those so-called romantics like Gaston when it comes to persistently trying to go after someone they think they love (even if Schezo has a different reason for pursuing Arle), though it’s not without some magical violence when these arguments get heated.
  • Amite was used to the magic school she attended in Primp Town as well as being told about the separate magic school that Lemres and Feli go to, so learning about other magic schools in the Pantheon excited her. While there were magic practitioners that were far more openly cruel than that of her enigmatic teacher Ms. Accord, Amite wasn’t going to dwell on such a thing and decided to get to know some of the students that attended these different magic schools. Akko was someone who Amite took a strong liking towards thanks to having plenty of common, including being unskilled mages looking to improve their capabilities, having a teacher with some sort of mysterious trait, hanging out with unusual individuals (with their classmates being a part of it) and being friends with a wealthier classmate (though Raffina doesn’t exactly share the same sentiment on being a friend the way Amite does towards her). Luna Nova in general was a fascinating place for Amite and she has visited the place on occasion to improve her magic skills with Akko’s help, with Arle and Ringo tagging along every so often (and Arle giving Akko a few pointers herself on how to refine her magic during such visits).
  • Ringo was already used to questioning the many strange events that happened back in her own world, so learning that the Pantheon was home to these kinds of instances on a regular basis was a lot for her to take in. Despite this, she has a fascination with solving mysteries that are part of these events and it led her and her friends to other individuals who have made a living solving bizarre events that they get word of. Mystery Inc. was one group who has solved numerous supernatural incidents regularly and Ringo and her friends ended up working with the team when what was believed to be the ghost of the various Puyos that have been popped started haunting the Pantheon. As much as Ringo is afraid of ghosts the same way that Scooby-Doo and Shaggy are afraid of anything paranormal (even if the paranormal perpetrators are just people in costumes), she and her friends worked with Mystery Inc. to debunk the phantom and get the culprit arrested. Ringo is open to working with Mystery Inc. again if the need arises given her curiosity while Arle is willing to offer Shaggy and Scooby some curry (even if it is sometimes on the spicy side) she makes whenever such meetings happen again.

Also, putting it out there but after at least the first Hulu season of Futurama is done I am interested in reworking the Planet Express crew as a whole under Uncancelled. Just putting that out there if anyone's curious

I am once again back after a long hiatus, and I come with the draft of Gaston's rework. In summary, he's an narcisstic and brutish hunter who's beloved by his hometown, and feels he is entitled of Belle's affections to the point of threatening her and trying to kill her love.

Gaston, God of Songs Boasting About Superiority (Gaston LeGume)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gaston_render.png
Click here  for his live-action portrayal.
Enraged Elk
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: Decorative antlers
  • Theme Song: Gaston
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portfolio: Obsessed with himself and his self-image, Doing things unlike others, eating five dozen eggs every morning, expectorating, being hammy, Parody of stereotypical manliness, Thinks he's entitled to Belle's affection to the point of trying to blackmail her and kill his rival, Beloved by his hometown despite his evil, Being much more dangerous than he seems
  • Domains: Egotism, Adoration, Music, Manliness
  • Herald: LeFou
  • Allies: Frollo, The Heartless, The Adoring Fan, Hal Steward, Vlad Masters, Homelander of the Seven
  • Enemies: The Beast, Blake Belladonna, Lauren Freed, Diana of Themyscira Bambi, Mickey Mouse, Sora, Blake Belladonna, Adam Taurus
  • Abhorrent Admirer to: Belle
  • Oppose: The House of Knowledge
  • Some people arrogant, others think the whole world centers around them. Such was the case of Gaston, an hunter whose strength and machismo led him to be adored by everyone in his home village, much to his great pleasure. That is, everyone except Belle, the most beautiful girl in town, who considered him a boorish buffoon. Unfortunately, this didn't deter him for trying to woo her because he 'deserves the best' despite her clear objections. This went to darker parts when he tried to force her to accept by threatening to send her father to a madhouse, as the old man had been ranting about her being held in the castle of a Beast. To prevent this, the young girl revealed that it was the truth, and that she had even fallen in love with said creature. Enraged, Gaston led the townsfolk to mob the Beast's castle and kill him. This horribly backfired, and so he found himself plummeting from the top of said castle to his violent death.
    • But much to his suprise, he found himself in the Pantheon, as his self-agrandizing song had become very popular amongst people and the Court of the Gods were so struck by the sheer narcissism in its lyrics that they agreed that he was fit for the position of representing egosticital songs. While he took the offer as a 'proof' of his greatness, but learning that Belle and The Beast were there was the clincher in him accepting. His first words upon ascending were: "Nobody ascends like Gaston!"
  • Naturally, both Belle and the Beast aren't pleased at all by his ascension, and he himself still very much plan to take the first for himself and slay the later as revenge. But, much as he hates to admit it, their last confrontation had shown that the cursed princess far outmatched in combat, and so he has been trying to come up with plans to get what he feels he deserve. When he's not drinking at the taverns in the House of Food, that is. Speaking of which, when he made it know to his sycophants that he was alive, they all rushed to drown him in praise once more, with his personal lackey Lefou gleefully becoming his herald. Most of the good-aligned deities are appaled that despite showing himself as clearly an evil thug, he is still adored by people around him.
    • Occasionally joining his band in singing praise is the wood elf simply known as the Adoring Fan, who started to follow Gaston after seeing him hunt down a huge bear in the House of Beasts. Tough the hunter appreciate having another suckup around, he also find his newest fan very annoying and is prone to punch and throw the poor schmuck around when he's annoyed.
  • Such is his ego that he sometimes known to barge into others' conversations just to remark that, "No one can [relevant action] like Gaston!" Mickey Mouse and his friends got rather annoyed of it when he attended their nightclub, and it sure wasn't helped by the time he worked with the other Disney villains to take it over. He sometimes work with said other villains, but since he doesn't reammy share their biggest ambitions, he tends to be more of an hired muscle than anything. And like most of them, his inner darkness has attracted a few Heartless to serve his desires, with it having even manifested in the form of an hulking monster ressembling him known as the Enraged Elk. He has taken very quickly to having a monster that can take on the Beast at his beck and call.
    • Tough for how close Belle and the Beast are to Sora and his friends, Gaston has never actually met them before ascending, mainly because the Organization XII member known as Xaldin took his place as the antagonist in his world. When asked around, there seems to be hints that Maleficent just doesn't think he is significant enough to be involved with her plans. Still, the Keyblade Wielder is very adament on opposing those who want to harm his friends.
    • In particular, Claude Frollo has rather taken a shine to him due to being one of the few Disney villains who is completely human and doesn't use "the dark arts" (besides his command over Heartless, but Frollo sees them as envoy from God) and sympathetizing with "being led astray by a sinful beast-loving woman". Their twisted egoistical viewpoints have allowed the two to form a just as sick form of friendship, and there are rumors of them going through strange misadventures together.
  • His primary motivation in everything he does is his belief that he's the most perfect man in the world and his desire to be recognized as such by everybody around him. Even if he literaly has a whole town of people loving him, the thought that Belle could have refused his advances enrage him. Eventually, this grandstanding brought him the attention of the twisted so-called superhero known as Homelander, and they actually managed to strike a friendship as the two narcissists saw a lot of themselves in each other, even if Gaston is disturbed by some of his new pal's more gruesome actions. Still, he is entertaining the tought of getting augmented by by Vought-American and becoming an official superero so he can get even more adulation.
  • He often visits the House of Beast to continue hunting as he did back in his world, tough this as usual motivated by his desire to get praised for his feats of arms. His temple is decorated with plenty of hunting trophies from the creatures he has slain, and there are rumors that amongst them is none other than Bambi's mother. Nobody quite known if that's true, and he himself can't be bothered to know if any of his quarries has a family, but Bambi nevertheless hate the tought of a man killing animals for sports. So the new king of the forest has taken it as his duty to attack the egomaniacal huntsman whenever he sees him, much to Gaston's ire.
  • As expected from a man who tried to threaten a woman into marrying him, Gaston is shamelessly mysoginist and once remarked that it's not right for women to read, lest they start thinking. This did not sit well with any of the goddesses, especially those who champion women's right like Lauren Freed and Diana of Themyscira, with both having several times vehemently thwarted his plans to force himself on Belle.
    • That said, he dislikes the thought of anybody in general reading or thinking, as he thinks it's a dangerous pastime and that men should be concerned with being strong. This did not endear him to the House of Knowledge either, and they tend to see him as representing everything wrong with societies who look down on learning and idolize being a brute. Not that he likes the thought of a place filled with boring books and stuffy bookworms either.
  • Upon hearing of the tale of Hal Stewart and how they were both denied the love of the women they "deserved" as well as initial comic reliefs that became the main antagonist of their stories, he felt an instant kinship with the supervillain. And so he often invite him to drink together, with Hal being secretly elated that he's finally hanging with the 'cool dude'. Of course, they also work together to take revenge on the people they blame for their troubles, with Gaston ironically often being the brain of their plans, as he's fairly cunning and a good manipulator while 'Tighten' is a complete and utter moron. Sometimes he also work on such matters with Vlad Masters, who similarly can't land the woman he feel he is entitled to, but the half-phantom finds the hunter much too boorish to be good company.
  • Became a nuisance to Blake Belladonna (and her whole team, but mostly Blake) when she ascended and Gaston heard rumors that she was another version of Belle, and he indeed found her quite familiar, especially with how much she loved reading. But upon meeting her, he quickly went into his usual views of how he felt that reading was a waste time and that there was no way soft little girls could be hunters, which earned him an hard bonk on the forehead from her sheath. Angry at this and hearing about Adam Taurus and how she 'betrayed' him, Gaston went to this temple in hopes of finding another kindred spirit. Instead, he barely escaped from the terrorist madman tyring to kill him while screaming about how he was just another arrogant and bigoted human. Needless to say, he no hates both of them.
  • It should be noted that him wanting to make Belle his wife is less out of desire for her and more about how as the self-declared best man around, he deserve only the most beautiful girl around. Lefou pointed out that since this was far less true in the Pantheon than in their home village, shouldn't he be trying to go after someone like Aphrodite, the official holder of the World's Most Beautiful Woman position? Gaston conceded the point, but by now he's more motivated by how his pride was wounded by Belle's rejection and the Beast winning over him, and in repairing those 'wrongs'. Some of the snarkier dieties have pointed out that with how bad the Greek goddess of love's standards are, she might really lay with him just because he's handsome and strong.

I wanted to make a suggestion.

Why don't we make the House Of Dread And Valor have a literal Nightmare Fuel Station and have whoever holds the (in this case literal) Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant trope and a few other Gods of Fear run it.

We could have the Boogieman be the owner or station store clerk, or both.

I was hoping to get substantial work done on Klonoa's rework before posting these two again but I'm feeling yet another block/dis-motivation coming... So before that happens, how are King of Sorrow and Joka looking? Think they're ready to be ascended or are there any flavors or interactions to be had?

I guess I'm wondering if any certain deities have something to say about King of Sorrow's red eyes, specifically the part about them looking that way due to weeping. Maybe a fellow royal who could relate with King of Sorrow's tragedy on some level? And for Joka, as I found a way to include "Flower Joka from Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal, would any flower deities take any interest in the clown fiend?

Oh yeah, I also changed King of Sorrow's pic to be a screenshot from Phantasy Reverie lol Thoughts on that, in comparison to the first?

  • Enemies: Joka, Nightmare, Saya, Stan Smith, Evil deities who suppress or try to forget their sorrows

  • Pities: Malygos, Odio/Oersted, (Generally tragic/woobie villains who have not reformed in life or in death)
  • In the world of Lunatea, there were five kingdoms that each embody a state of the mind: La-Lakoosha, the Kingdom of Tranquility. Joilant, the Kingdom of Joy. Volk, the Kingdom of Discord. Mira-Mira, the Kingdom of Indecision. And Hyuponia, the Kingdom of Sorrow. However, while people could embrace if not desire tranquility, joy, discord, and indifference... Those who encounter sorrow would do their best to forget it, to pretend sorrow never existed. And ultimately, the Lunateans would do exactly that with Hyuponia; putting a veil over their eyes to ignore the Kingdom of Sorrow and then forgetting there was ever a fifth kingdom at all. This total rejection of sorrow would cause Hyuponia to be cut off from the rest of Lunatea, hidden away beneath the Sea of Tears, and the Kingdom of Sorrow's inhabitants would die out or abandon it with one strict exception: the King of Sorrow, who then became the sole bearer of Lunatea's ignored sorrow. King of Sorrow sought to have the people of Lunatea remember sorrow once more, to remember his kingdom and himself, for them to accept sorrow and his kingdom back into the world. But years of being ignored and forgotten, isolated within the ruins of his kingdom, and taking in all the world's pain and sadness, all completely alone, took a toll on King of Sorrow's sanity: engulfing him with hatred for Lunatea and then resorting to destructive methods to bring sorrow back to the world. King of Sorrow's actions would culminate in a confrontation with the Dream Traveler, Klonoa, who would defeat the then-crazed king in battle. But before the King of Sorrow could succumb to his wounds, the sympathetic Klonoa assured him that Lunatea would remember and accept sorrow.
  • Although the King of Sorrow was reborn as an infant in a newly harmonious Lunatea, he mysteriously appeared in the Pantheon, within the House of Despondency, one day: exactly the same as he was before death. King of Sorrow was greatly confused as to how and why he manifested within the Pantheon, but fortunately a place was quickly found for the King as Klonoa shortly thereafter ascended into the Pantheon and recognized the King of Sorrow. It was decided then that King of Sorrow would be Klonoa's Herald, which King did not oppose as he remembered Klonoa and how the Dream Traveler allowed Hyuponia to be remembered and accepted by Lunatea; which King of Sorrow is eternally grateful for. But the King would end up feeling "useless" as Klonoa's Herald, not really accomplishing anything nor being able to provide Klonoa as much companionship as Huepow or Lolo. And once Klonoa decided to include Huepow, Lolo, Popka, and Guntz as his Heralds, King of Sorrow felt like he would become a fifth wheel and fell into a depression. Feeling bad for King of Sorrow and not wanting him to feel ignored and forgotten again, Klonoa reached out to the Court of the Gods and asked about ascending King as a deity. To that end, the Court of the Gods examined the King of Sorrow's story, officially named "Lunatea's Veil", and took note of how the event is one big allegory for the repression of sadness: as Lunatea's rejection and forgetting of sorrow lead to the destruction of Hyuponia and its inhabitants, the King of Sorrow losing his sanity into a hateful lump of sorrow, and causing the other kingdoms of Lunatea to become increasingly isolated from one another; with Volk becoming a battleground for a neverending civil war and Mira-Mira rejecting all outsiders, both things that ceased once sorrow was returned to Lunatea. The confrontation with King of Sorrow also made Klonoa come to terms with his bittersweet role as the Dream Traveler. With this, the King of Sorrow was deemed a good representative for the trope "It's Okay to Cry", albeit under the name "Accepting Sadness", which was what King of Sorrow wanted Lunatea to do. Once more, the King of Sorrow is eternally grateful to Klonoa as he was ascended to godhood.
  • King of Sorrow's temple is a replica of the Kingdom of Sorrow, with the King residing in a replica of the Terminus of Tears (sans the Bell of Sorrow, as the "kingdom bells" are only significant in Lunatea). A peculiar trait of this Hyuponia copy is that, in addition to its normal background music, deities will hear the music of their most somber or nostalgic moments mixed in, just as Klonoa experienced during his journey through the ruins of the real Hyuponia. And indeed, King of Sorrow's temple often gets visitors as it became a recommended place for deities who seriously need to cry.
    • Even though he could have his temple essentially be the Kingdom of Sorrow before its ruination, King of Sorrow had the temple Hyuponia appear as the kingdom's ruins. When asked about it, King of Sorrow explained that as nice as it would be to essentially live in Hyuponia in its prime, he'd just be pointlessly dwelling in the past, and reflecting on memories is the Kingdom of Indecision's thing, not Sorrow's. King ultimately doesn't care how his temple looks so long he's not alone, not being the sole bearer of everyone's sorrow, and the real Kingdom of Sorrow is faring well, which Lunatea is making sure of with the kingdom's reconstruction and with King of Sorrow's reborn-infant-self poised to become its leader. King also admits that the whole "kingdom ruins" aesthetic, combined with the music, is more appropriate for sorrow and certainly helps with getting the tears flowing for deities who need it.
  • Adding to the above decision, King of Sorrow feels that the House of Despondency as a whole is already like the Kingdom of Sorrow before its ruin, with its sad atmosphere but without the wrecked buildings and actually being populated. And since the House of Despondency was the place he arrived to the Pantheon in, King of Sorrow has a strong attachment to the place and its Sub-Houses and considers all but the most malicious and hostile deities in Despondency an ally.
    • Thanks to this strong attachment to the House of Despondency combined with his title, some deities believe King of Sorrow to be, well, king of the House of Despondency. Something which flatters King but he tries to discourage such misconceptions, not wanting to be seen as stepping on the toes of the Melancholia Matrons and the Mediators of Grief. Though King of Sorrow does try to help out the inhabitants of the house, like any good royal should.
  • When it came to choosing a Herald, King of Sorrow was initially at a loss as he had been alone for so long. But Lolo (now one of Klonoa's heralds) recommended Leorina, and her sidekick Tat, for King as both were leading the reconstruction for the Kingdom of Sorrow back in Lunatea. Though King of Sorrow had his doubts Leorina would want to see him again after his attempt to consume Lunatea in sorrow but went along with Lolo's suggestion anyway: expecting rejection from the Sky Pirate and Tat. Much to his surprise, Leorina and Tat immediately accepted becoming King's heralds and regard him as a friend, with Tat explaining on both their behalf that they knew King of Sorrow was not in a good mental state at the time. The two also wouldn't pass up the opportunity to experience a place like the Pantheon, with Leorina adding that somebody has to keep King of Sorrow in check. A small smile could be seen on King of Sorrow after their acceptance.
  • On account of being isolated in the ruins of his kingdom for so long, King of Sorrow isn't naturally inclined to wander through the Pantheon: residing mainly in his temple and going out as far as the edge of the House of Despondency. Though Leorina, Tat, Klonoa, and his heralds have been convincing King to explore the rest of the Pantheon and got him to check out the House of Emotion and related Sub-Houses. Given the nature of Lunatea, King of Sorrow couldn't help but equate certain Halls in Emotion with the other four kingdoms of Lunatea: viewing Happiness as a better version of Joilant since it's not an "indulgent" amusement park, Anger being most similar to Volk that thankfully hasn't become a warzone (yet), and Calmness being like Mira-Mira with the focus on stoicism. Though King could not find an equivalent to La-Lakoosha, which disappointed him a bit as he has some memories from his reborn-infant-self being cared for by the High Priestess of that kingdom.
    • Having been rejected for representing a "bad emotion", and reminded of the value of other emotions by Klonoa and Leorina during their fight, King of Sorrow gives equal value to all emotions and doesn't malign or reject any of them, even if he harbors preference for sorrow. Though try as he might, King of Sorrow can't help but feel great discomfort when looking at the House of Hatred and Rancor, as the emotion of hatred engulfed him to the point of attempting to destroy his own world. King has been trying to sort out this feeling of his.
  • Pitiable as he may look, King of Sorrow is not a deity to be underestimated as he wields the Element of Sorrow, a power so potent that Leorina was painfully transformed into a monster from trying to use it. And on that front, the King of Sorrow is able to transform into a monstrous entity that can conjure Nemo Moos to toss at foes, done within an alternate tunnel-shaped dimension King is able to create. And if that's not enough, King is able to create a force field with two spiked balls and green orbs that rotate around and fire lasers. King of Sorrow also posed a serious threat to Lunatea as a whole with his machinations prior to Klonoa's intervention.
  • A detail of King of Sorrow that unnerves some deities is how red his eyes are, coupled with his tiny pupils. While King is silent on the subject, Klonoa and others speculate that his eyes appear that way due to excessive crying from being forgotten, isolated, and bearing everyone's suppressed sorrow for a long time.
  • Many deities have noticed King of Sorrow's resemblance to Klonoa's Phantomilian appearance, down to wearing an accessory around his neck that evokes Klonoa's old collar, and speculates that King isn't just an embodiment of sorrow in general but the embodiment of Klonoa's sorrow. Specifically the immense sadness Klonoa experienced when he was pulled out of Phantomile, a world he viewed as his home that he saved from ultimate destruction, only to be cast out and forgotten. Adding to this theory was how the Kingdom of Sorrow, Hyuponia, sounds a little too similar to Huepow, Klonoa's dear friend from Phantomile whom he could never see again (at least before ascending into the Pantheon). King of Sorrow and Klonoa were very intrigued by this speculation and became even closer friends than before. This also prompted King to start visiting the House of Derivatives, feeling a new sense of belonging in there.
  • King of Sorrow didn't think he'd make many friends of his own within the Pantheon, on account of his villainous actions in the past and embodying an emotion that people still generally avoid. But to his pleasant surprise, King would be befriended by plenty of deities. Chief among them being Princess Luna of Equestria, who sympathized all too well with being royalty who represents something that people reject, becoming resentful from said rejection, and then attempting to force that something onto the whole world in a destructive manner. Though Luna believes King got it even worse since the rejection of his represented aspect destroyed his whole kingdom and its people, and pledged to help with the rebuilding of Hyuponia in Lunatea; which the dark alicorn can actually be very effective with since Lunatea is a dream world and she has influence over dreams. King of Sorrow is beyond grateful for Princess Luna's support and gets together regularly with her to discuss their kingdom's respective cultures, as well as helping each other atone for their villainous actions in the past.
    • Through Princess Luna, King of Sorrow became acquainted with her sister, Princess Celestia, who reminds him a lot of the High Priestess of La-Lakoosha: being benevolent and wise leaders of tranquil kingdoms. King would end up getting along great with Celestia as she values sadness as an important emotion, stating that without sorrow there can be no love or friendship, which all of Lunatea can attest to.
  • Indeed, many of King of Sorrow's allies are tragic, sympathetic villains who had since reformed, and offered their friendship to King of Sorrow to assure him that he is not alone in committing evil out of hate and/or desperation.
    • Agatha Penderghast could relate to being rejected by people for something inherent to her and then being hidden away (or rather, killed and then buried in an isolated area). And while Agatha wasn't forgotten by the people of her town, their memory of her would get distorted in the worst way, and so she became a hate-filled ghost witch who wanted to make everyone suffer until Norman Babcock gave her some much-needed empathy. King of Sorrow was horrified that a girl as young as her was outright killed by the people of her town over an ability as benign as seeing and talking with the dead, and allowed Agatha complete permission to enter his temple to express any lingering sorrow, with himself being alongside her should he be available.
    • While Merlina was not rejected by her world of Camelot, nor did she feel any hatred for it, the girl wizard could relate to becoming desperate to save her kingdom from eventual destruction and resorting to dark, unholy powers to accomplish that, regardless of the harm done to everyone. Merlina also noticed that both she and King of Sorrow summoned a hero to help them with their goal only for said hero to defeat them in a climactic battle: Sonic for Merlina and Klonoa for King. But whereas Merlina wanted to make her world eternal, King of Sorrow became fully willing to destroy Lunatea when it appeared that his kingdom was completely unwelcome by the world. Merlina doesn't hold that against him, though, acknowledging that King of Sorrow's situation would drive anyone to want to destroy their world, much as she doesn't agree with it. Merlina was very glad for King of Sorrow that his kingdom is being rebuilt from ruin and that he himself had changed for the better. King in turn fully sympathizes with Merlina over Camelot's inevitable demise and expressed hope that the kingdom could be rebuilt just as Hyuponia is, offering to lend support to Merlina should that occur.
    • Count Bleck was hesitant at first to even look at King of Sorrow, seeing how King embodies the emotion that engulfed him and fueled his desire to destroy all existence. But Tippi was able to convince her lover to at least try and get to know King of Sorrow before deciding he was to be avoided, and Count Bleck then learned that King of Sorrow is a person not unlike himself; someone who suffered a tremendous tragedy that drove them to bring about great destruction, only to reform upon learning how pointless that destruction was for their goals and now seek to atone. Though King feels Bleck should've at least tried to determine if Timpani was actually killed before deciding to destroy all of existence, but overall sympathizes with the Count over his unfortunate past and is simply glad that he is able to live with his beloved. Count Bleck in turn has offered the support of himself, Tippi, and their heralds in rebuilding the Kingdom of Sorrow.
    • While a hero, Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch suffered many tragedies that drove her to immoral actions if not outright villainy: losing the love of her life, her children with him, and her twin brother... King of Sorrow is able to feel the witch's sorrow radiating from her and has given Wanda immense condolences for all the losses she endured. Wanda appreciated King's sympathy and shared her own sympathy for his own tragedy. The Scarlet Witch had since become one of King of Sorrow's more frequent visitors to his temple, in order to express her sadness and tears before they could drive her to more immoral actions.
  • Much to King of Sorrow's dismay, there are plenty of tragic and sympathetic deities who remain on the side of evil with little to no chance of redemption. King feels a strong sense of pity and sympathy for such deities but nonetheless had made clear that he will attack them with lethal force if they start to harm people or destroy things.
    • The first of such deities that come to mind for King is the one who shares the same House with him, Malygos. As the leader of a kingdom whose people have died out thanks to the selfish actions of his world, King empathizes all too much with Malygos over the near extinction his Dragonflight experienced thanks to a corrupted friend. However, while the people of Lunatea were genuinely at fault for the destruction of Hyuponia and its people, King was quick to note that the magic users of Azeroth had nothing to do with the decimation of the Blue Dragonflight, and thus Malygos' tragedy-fueled malevolence is much less excusable. Especially as King would learn from Malygos' former associates that the Blue Dragonflight recovered a great deal from their near extinction when Malygos started the "Nexus War", which would only undo a lot of that recovery. Though with all that noted, King of Sorrow still pities Malygos for how poorly his fate turned out and makes an effort as a neighbor to clear the former Aspect of Magic of his madness and be redeemed. Unfortunately, King's attempts have only gotten him ridicule and boastful threats from Malygos, and one encounter forced King of Sorrow to outright fight the giant blue dragon to defend himself. But the Hyuponian ruler holds out hope that Malygos can be reasoned with.
    • The second deity of this nature that King of Sorrow pities is Odio, or more specifically Odio's original persona: Oersted. King feels sympathy for Oersted over getting tricked into killing his king and then branded a demon by mankind for it, pushing him into becoming the embodiment of hatred itself in his world. While their situations are not at all similar, King of Sorrow understands what it's like to be rejected by the world, become engulfed with hatred, and then spread harm and destruction to his world in response. But King was made to realize from Klonoa that hatred and violence are not the answer; that people could be made to remember and accept sorrow. And so King feels that the same can be done for Oersted if he can just let go of his hatred and be the champion of mankind again. But sadly, even if Oersted himself is willing to turn over a new leaf, Odio cannot be easily abandoned nor eliminated and thinks the King of Sorrow to be a naive fool who will be rejected and forgotten by people once more.
  • As the embodiment of sorrow in Lunatea, King of Sorrow views Sadness as fellow kin of sorts, seeing that she embodies sorrow for the whole Pantheon. Sadness reciprocates the feelings of kinship with King of Sorrow and was empathetic to him upon learning what he went through; Sadness often being considered a "useless emotion" in many minds, with the former situation of Riley Andersen's Sadness being the most well-known example. Though she didn't approve of King of Sorrow's destructive methods to bring sorrow back to Lunatea, stating how unbecoming of their emotion that was, but Sadness understood that he was desperate and lost complete faith in Lunatea at the time, and the emotion is simply glad that King got the help he needed. King of Sorrow promised Sadness that he'll never stoop to those levels again and will teach people the merits of sadness so she would no longer be considered "useless".
    • On learning that the Sadness of Riley's mind was actively rejected by Riley's Joy, who even went as far as to try and dispose of a sad Core Memory, King of Sorrow confronted Joy on the assumption that she was the same way to Sadness. King was relieved to see that was not the case, with Joy being a good friend to Sadness, and was then informed by her that Riley's Joy completely changed her attitude towards Riley's Sadness and learning firsthand that It's Okay to Cry. Which surprised King a great deal, as the Emotions are much more directly tied to what they embody than even himself and the other Lunateans, yet Joy could shed tears of sorrow. Nonetheless, Joy apologized to King of Sorrow on behalf of Riley's Joy and all other Joys who have suppressed their Sadnesses: explaining that when you embody someone's happiness, and they and others like the happiness, it's hard not to feel important over the other emotions and want that someone to be happy all the time. King of Sorrow understood the explanation and accepted Joy's apology, then as an apology of his own for the confrontation offered to take Joy to Joilant in Lunatea, knowing she'd love the place.
  • Given that it led his kingdom to be cut off from Lunatea and fall into ruin, decimating his people until only he remained, having to take in the whole world's sadness, and both his kingdom and himself to be forgotten... King of Sorrow does not tolerate people who suppress and try to forget their sorrows. As per his trope and his promise to Sadness, King makes an effort to teach deities who suppress their sorrow the damage they're ultimately doing to themselves and that there's no shame in crying. But for Good and Neutral aligned deities who are particularly stubborn about ignoring their sadness, King of Sorrow can only view them as lost causes he holds no respect for. And for Evil deities who suppress and forget their sorrow, especially in a manner that harms others, King declared them his enemies whom he won't hesitate to fight should circumstances come to that. True to her word, Leorina keeps special tabs on King of Sorrow regarding such deities, making sure he doesn't relapse to his extreme ways.
    • Of course, King of Sorrow does try to be mindful of individual context and gives special leeway to deities who avoid their sorrow for very valid reasons. Such as Dr. Zalost, who had experienced such extreme sorrow that he was in total misery and set out to spread that to everyone else. Even the King of Sorrow can understand that Zalost would not want to risk relapsing to that behavior and prefer to keep his desperately sought happiness. King of Sorrow also doesn't hold any ire for most stoic deities since they suppress all their emotions, not just sorrow.
  • With the above in mind, King is nothing short of appreciative to deities who have learned that It's Okay to Cry, if not already embraced sadness. Chief among them being Yesod and Hiro Hamada, who both experienced intense grief from the death of a loved one but repressed their sadness; which resulted in Yesod becoming obsessed with security and clawing at himself, and Hiro closing himself off from others, regressing back to bad habits, and then trying to kill the man responsible for his brother's death. But ultimately Yesod and Hiro learned to come to terms with their sorrows after a meltdown and Tough Love questioning from Baymax respectively, which vastly improved their mental states and becoming better people overall. King of Sorrow couldn't be more proud and thankful for the two boys.
    • When King of Sorrow first met with Baymax, the healthcare companion was immediately compelled to offer his services to the Hyuponian, his sensors detecting high levels of sadness from him. Hiro, having learned about King of Sorrow's nature beforehand, laughed a bit and assured his robot friend that sadness is inherent to King, being an embodiment of sorrow in his native world, and thus nothing to heal. Nonetheless, Baymax was insistent on providing therapy to King of Sorrow and the Hyuponian admitted that he still has mental scars over the whole "being rejected, forgotten, isolated, and bearing the whole world's sorrow". With that, it was arranged for Baymax and King to get together every week to help him heal from that trauma. Hiro and other members of Big Hero 6 would sometimes join in these sessions and gift King some of Aunt Cass' food, which the Hyuponian finds delicious.
  • Being such close friends with Klonoa, King of Sorrow harbors the illest will towards the Dream Traveler's enemies and has sworn to subject them to the worst sort of sorrow should any of them harm Klonoa. The top of King's shitlist in this regard being Joka, for dealing a devastating emotional blow to Klonoa by murdering his grandpa and overall being an active menace to him.
    • For being the reason Joka got into the Pantheon to begin with, and one of Klonoa's more vile enemies in the Pantheon, King of Sorrow declared that he will join any fight against Nightmare and make him suffer as much as the victims of his nightmares. Nightmare scoffed at King of Sorrow's threat, claiming that he lacks the ability to feel any sorrow. This only prompted King of Sorrow to start honing his power to test Nightmare's claim.
  • Being an enemy of Klonoa and ally of Joka is enough for King of Sorrow to dislike Saya, but learning of her goal to merge all worlds to create unbridled chaos makes him detest the werefox as it reminds King of his use of chaos to force Lunatea to remember sorrow. The chaos King unleashed caused massive damage to Lunatea, if not threatened to destroy it outright, and he only committed it out of desperation and insanity-induced hatred for Lunatea, which he now feels shame for. That Saya would merge all worlds in order to inflict such a thing unto them, for what can only appear to be for shits and giggles fills the King of Sorrow with great rage.
  • The closest King of Sorrow came to relapsing to his villainous behavior was when he first met Stan Smith, having heard about the CIA agent previously learning that crying is a good thing, and to not bottle up his emotions overall, and the Hyuponian wanted to thank the man for his acceptance of sorrow. But Stan ended up responding with complete disbelief that he of all men would ever be okay with crying, much to King's confusion. The CIA agent then immediately followed that up with a tangent about how sorrow is something to be buried and forgotten like all other "useless emotions", wishing that sadness as a concept never existed. Needless to say, King of Sorrow felt tricked in the worst way and was so angered by Stan's words about sorrow he became determined to kill the man until Leorina, Tat, Klonoa, his Heralds, and a few nearby deities intervened. King of Sorrow was then informed that Stan always forgets whatever lesson he learned previously, as per his assigned trope, and hence would not have remembered that time he learned the necessity of crying. King calmed down from his rage and came to pity the CIA agent for being incapable of improving as a person. Though his dislike for Stan heavily outweighs the pity and King of Sorrow won't forgive the man for what he said about sorrow, especially since Stan is unapologetic about it.
  • Sonic and Tails did a Double Take on first seeing King of Sorrow as he strongly resembles Kitsunami "Kit" the Fennec from their IDW universe, and thought at that moment the blue fox had ascended without Surge somehow. King of Sorrow also initially thought Tails to be related to Klonoa on account of their similar faces. After clearing up this confusion and getting to properly know each other, Sonic and Tails offered their friendship to King of Sorrow, feeling sympathy for his lonely past and deciding he could use more friends. King accepted their offer, of course, and the hedgehog and fox make an effort to have King of Sorrow come along with them in any adventures across the Pantheon so he'd not just stand in his temple all the time.
    • Upon learning that "tears" are among Sonic's dislikes, King of Sorrow became apprehensive with the hedgehog under the assumption that he rejects sorrow. Thankfully, before this could damage their friendship, Sonic explained that he has no issue with sadness or crying, bringing up how he even wished for a mountain of handkerchiefs for his sad genie friend, Shahra, so she could cry as much as she needed. Sonic then clarified that his dislike of tears isn't for the tears themselves but rather the reason for the tears; someone being subjected to pain or otherwise suffering injustice, which the hedgehog cannot stand. King apologized for his misunderstanding and agreed wholeheartedly with Sonic's viewpoint.
  • King of Sorrow took up an interest in baseball after Klonoa invited him to a game in the House of Sports one day. Deities who observed King out on the field found him to be adorable in his baseball outfit, even with the unsettling red eyes. King can only respond to such comments with a bashful blush.
  • "Why... Why do you... Hate sorrow? Can't you... Can't you accept sorrow at all...? Is there no place for me, in this world?!"

  • A nightmare creature from the dream world of Phantomile, Joka was the loyal lackey of Ghadius, the King of Darkness who wanted to destroy Phantomile for rejecting nightmares in favor of good dreams. When Klonoa and Huepow began meddling in Ghadius' scheme, Joka was tasked with eliminating the two children but found himself constantly getting thwarted by the boys. When Joka's failures earned him Ghadius' disappointment, the nightmare clown stopped fooling around and became a serious threat to Klonoa and Huepow, starting with killing Klonoa's grandfather to steal the Moon Pendant for Ghadius and then fighting the two himself in a climactic battle that would end in Joka's demise. At least in Phantomile, as the clown would appear alive and well in other dream worlds and continue to menace Klonoa one way or another. And now Joka has made it into the Pantheon, eager to cause more trouble for the Dream Traveler and his allies.
  • Joka was ascended into the Pantheon by Nightmare, who wanted to spite Klonoa after the Dream Traveler fought him one too many times. While summoning Joka to the Pantheon was a trivial matter for Nightmare, he had to figure out a trope for the clown to become a deity and be kept within the Pantheon. But then Ghadius, currently serving Nightmare as his High Priest, recalled how Joka was always accompanied by this "strange music" that Nightmare identified as electronic music. Nightmare then realized that, as a clown heavily associated with electronic music, Joka was the perfect fit for the then-unoccupied trope of Circus Synths and immediately claimed the trope for the clown fiend. Joka was extremely grateful to Nightmare for ascending him into the Pantheon and swore his utmost loyalty to the Emporer of Darkness.
    • Indeed, the very first thing Nightmare noticed about Joka (besides the techno music that accompanied him) is how obsequious the clown is, thinking he ought to be the God of Brown-Nosers instead. Ghadius always figured that Joka just recognizes greater power when he sees it and knows to be obedient to it. Joka doesn't confirm or deny Ghadius' theory, nor the theories of other deities, and simply states that his loyalty is completely sincere and he'll happily serve any evildoer in need of a lackey.
      • Of course, as loyal as he is to Nightmare and other villains within the Pantheon, Joka is only truly devoted to Ghadius and is secretly working to get his beloved master ascended. The King of Darkness is thoroughly pleased with his lackey's efforts and patiently waits to be granted godhood.
  • Joka confounds many a deity when it comes to his competence as for the most part Joka is an utter buffoon who's more an annoyance than a threat, not unlike Jesse, James, and Meowth of Team Rocket; doing utterly baffling things like shouting out the weakness of the monsters he sends at Klonoa. But after suffering enough defeats, especially if they land him in hot water with his superior, Joka will stop fooling around and become a genuine threat: personally spreading plagues, attacking with lethal force, and becoming shockingly cunning. Some deities had come to believe that Joka's foolish incompetence is just a facade to lower the guard of his enemies, though Joka's response to that speculation suggests otherwise.
    • Deities are especially warned to avoid Joka at night or during an eclipse, as the clown fiend is able to draw power from the darkness to transform into a monstrous form aptly named "Beast Joka", which makes him a great deal stronger and faster as well as highly durable. Those who encounter Joka in his beast form are advised to avoid his attacks and wait out the night or force the daylight if it can be helped, forcing Joka back into his much weaker default form. Because of this, Joka maintains a tight alliance with evil deities associated with the night and vows to destroy all deities of the day.
  • Once offered the choice, Joka was initially going to choose the monsters he summoned to fight Klonoa and Huepow: Rongo Longo, Gelg Bolm, and Baladium, as his Heralds. But then Joka recalled the allies of his "Heroes incarnation", Janga and Garlen, and decided to have them as his Heralds instead, as they're a great deal more competent than those pathetic monsters while also having actual personalities. Neither of the two are happy to be the "second-in-command" to Joka, who prides himself on being the most loyal lackey (and indeed served as their lackey in their home universe), but Janga and Garlen are thankful to be given a second chance at life in the Pantheon and are eager to cause trouble alongside Joka.
    • Because of the many similarities between him and Garlen, Joka struck up an alliance with Dr. Eggman: offering to assist Eggman in his plans and attempt to eliminate the doctor's many enemies. Eggman is a tad wary of Joka, thinking that nobody could be that obsequious, but did accept Joka's offer and lent the harlequin his own custom Egg Mobile, which Eggman was surprised to learn Joka is experienced with piloting as it resembles a flying machine he used back in Phantomile. Garlen and Eggman also tend to work together, sharing technology and insight, though their egos frequently clash, with Eggman most often proving himself the better to Garlen.
    • Similarly, Joka allied with Katz under the presumption that he and Janga would get along. Which proved correct as Katz and Janga admire each other's cruelty and methods of killing, with Katz becoming inspired to create his own poison-laced Wolverine Claws. Janga also relates with Katz's hatred for dogs, being the Arch-Enemy to the canid Guntz who is currently one of Klonoa's Heralds. The two evil cats frequently get together to devise schemes to eliminate their foes, which Joka will be more than happy to get involved in.
  • Joka also greatly admires Wizeman, being the creator of nightmares in his world who resembles Ghadius a good deal. He also thinks Wizeman has great taste in minions, what with them being nightmare clowns just like Joka himself.
  • Joka and Janga were just scouting around the Pantheon for some havoc when they spotted Saya, whom they recognized from the time they worked with her and greeted the villainous werefox like an old friend. Saya was surprised to see Joka and Janga again, having not even heard from them since that first world-merging attempt, but was nonetheless happy to see old allies whom she can count on to help her out; recalling what great help the clown and cat were. Since then, whenever Saya needs something accomplished for a plan, Joka and Janga are sure to get involved.
    • Reiji and Xiaomu were not pleased in the least of Joka and Janga's renewed alliance with Saya, remembering what a pain the clown fiend in particular was, and both as well as every other heroic deity involved in that first world-merge event were quick to relearn their strategies to combat Joka and Janga so as to not get caught off guard by those two again. Seeing this coming, Joka was quick to get reacquainted with his villainous cohorts from that whole shindig and learn from them whatever new moves and strategies those heroes came up with while he was absent.
  • Joka was ecstatic with how many other evil clowns and harlequins there were in the Pantheon and was quick to ally with as many as he could find. Of them all, Joka gets along the best with Dimentio (whom he was a Follower to) and is one of the few sincere allies for the Master of Dimensions; having absolutely no issue with Dimentio's psychopathy and grand plan. Dimentio is nothing short of delighted by Joka's complete loyalty and considers him a reliable ally to call on for his endeavors. And just to sweeten the deal and make Joka even more effective, Dimentio has been teaching Joka some of his magic. Joka also became one of very few clowns to be considered an ally to The Violator, also known as Clown, since he's a nightmare creature rather than a human (nightmares essentially being the demons of dreams) and the two having quite a bit in common: being the loyal lackeys to powerful evil entities who started off as complete jokes only to become much more dangerous over time, and would end up the most enduring enemy to their universe's respective heroes.
    • Much to Joka's surprise, while he was seeking out clown allies, he would be approached for an alliance by Kefka Palazzo and Joker of the Pretty Cure universe, who refers to himself as "Agent of Bad End". The two mad clowns of magic had looked into Joka's background the moment they heard of his ascension and found him to be a very promising partner, what with his willingness to work with would-be world destroyers and being a devoted lackey without any ulterior motives. And indeed, Joka was more than happy to partner with Kefka and Agent of Bad End; viewing Kefka as similar to Ghadius but much more colorful and humorous, and relating with Agent on being depraved second-in-commands to a world-destroying evil only to step up as the most frequent menace to their universe's heroes. The Pantheon shudders at what these three psychotic magic clowns will do...
    • It didn't take long at all for Joka to find the Joker of the DC universe, given his infamy. And for once, Joka found himself being hesitant to ally with that mad clown as the Joker is just too unpredictable for him to consider worth working for. Joka was also quick to learn from other deities that the Joker is generally a terrible deity to work for, with Harley Quinn's tenure under the Clown Prince of Crime being commonly cited. Joka felt pity for Harley as he could see that she is an incredibly competent underling who was more than devoted to the Joker, yet gets treated like shit by him most of the time. Joka would've reached out to Harley Quinn for a partnership to make up for her abuse, but Harley has a tendency to act as a "hero" whenever she's not working with the Joker, and Joka has absolutely no interest in hero work. Joker for his part does not appreciate there being yet another "Joker" in the Pantheon, stating that replacing the "er" with an "a" is a pathetic attempt to be unique, and finds Joka's competency too inconsistent to tolerate.
      • While Joka is merely wary of the Joker, he's outright terrified by the Batman Who Laughs, who has all of the Joker's worst qualities but maximized by a lot. Joka will only really work with He Who Laughs if it's in a team-up with Kefka and the Agent of Bad End, since those two managed to befriend He Who Laughs, but otherwise Joka stays the hell away from him even in his beast form.
    • Joka soon found two other nightmare harlequins from dream worlds in Vex and Marx, whom he unsurprisingly became good friends with. Joka is particularly impressed by Vex and Marx's cunning, both tricking Sackboy and Kirby respectively into accomplishing their goals for them, and the nightmare jester was disappointed for them when their well-earned victories were snatched at the last second by those heroes. Ever the loyal help for all villainy, Joka had promised to help the two fellow nightmare harlequins win for good, which Vex and Marx greatly appreciated.
  • Upon learning of him, Joka became allies with Ridley: relating with the space dragon on being second-in-commands who became the most recurring and personal enemy to the hero of their respective worlds, as well as frequently coming back from death. Ridley finds Joka too silly looking for his liking but respects the jester's dedication to evil and remorseless killing of Klonoa's grandpa.
  • With Joka's most famous act of evil being his killing of Klonoa's grandpa, he has gained the favor of deities who are also famed for killing the family members of heroes: Scar, Sabor, Lord Shen, and Voldemort being just the first of such deities to praise the clown fiend for the cold-blooded murder. Likewise, Joka has earned the enmity of heroic deities whose family were killed by villains and deities who were the slain family, such as the case of Mufasa for the latter. Both he and Simba have threatened to maul Joka should he make any attempts on any other innocent family members.
    • In response to deities who despise Joka for slaying Klonoa's kin, the nightmare clown pointed out to them with the most shit-eating grin that Klonoa and "Grandpa" weren't even related to each other, the old man merely posing as the Dream Traveler's granddad as part of Huepow's masquerade. Joka would even feel that his offing of the geezer would be just punishment for that deception if it didn't imply he did something morally "good". But of course, deities have pointed out in turn that regardless of the true nature of Grandpa's relation to Klonoa, the two loved each other like family, and Joka certainly didn't know that truth when he committed that deed.
      • Joka took an interest in Judge Claude Frollo when he heard about the man being responsible for killing Quasimodo's mother, and then attempting to drown the infant hunchback right after, which the clown fiend was impressed by. Though Frollo wants nothing to do with Joka as he does not associate with monsters, much less one that dresses like the leader of the Romani he so despises. Too bad for him, Joka won't take "no" for an answer and has taken to hanging out with Frollo, both as a "friend" and to harass him.
  • As Klonoa is his greatest enemy, Joka considers all of Klonoa's allies his enemies as well and has sworn to destroy them all. Among Klonoa's friends, Joka harbors the most animosity for King of Sorrow and NiGHTS; the former being a pitiful-looking contrast to his beloved Ghadius who had his goals granted by Klonoa despite threatening his world's destruction just like Ghadius, not to mention resembling Klonoa a great deal. And for the latter, Joka views NiGHTS as a traitor to nightmare kind, having been created to spread nightmares but rebelled to protect children from nightmares, and doing so while maintaining his jester appearance.
  • Being one of the few sincere allies to Dimentio is enough to get Joka on Count Bleck's bad side, but the fact that Joka loyally served Ghadius to destroy Phantomile and its people has made Bleck determined to take Joka down once and for all. Joka is unfazed by Bleck's threats, however, and loves to ridicule the Count for having attempted to erase all of existence just cause his girlfriend died. While acknowledging Ghadius' own Suicidal Cosmic Temper Tantrum as petty, the clown fiend reasoned that at least it was limited to Phantomile, and being rejected for being a nightmare and sealed away for three thousand years is a lot more understandable than losing a lover.
  • Joka found himself in Rayman's list of enemies when the Limbless Wonder came up to the clown fiend, having heard about the latest deity having floating limbs just like himself and wanting to befriend him, only to find said deity to be a nightmare monster committed to all sorts of evil. Joka was delighted by Rayman's thoroughly disappointed face when they first met and loves to taunt Rayman by mimicking his iconic punching moves with his own floating, gloved hands.
  • Being yet another evil clown in the Pantheon, and a nightmare creature at that, Ronald McDonald immediately declared Joka an enemy who is giving clowns a bad name. Joka can only laugh in ridicule at the fast-food mascot, proclaiming that Ronald's desire to restore the good reputation of clowns is in vain and that he has done far more harm than even the worst of evil clowns by getting many children hooked on deep-fried garbage that would cause health problems all over his world.
  • Joka got himself permanently banned from the House of Commerce and all stores in the Pantheon when he used his magic to increase the size of his money tenfold, literally turning his bills of cash giant, thinking that they'll be accepted within the Pantheon unlike the "Beach Volleyball world". They were not, as even the deities who knew they weren't counterfeit didn't approve of the oversized bills and kicked Joka out of their establishments. The nightmare clown declared that he would make the House of Commerce and all businesses within the Pantheon pay for this humiliation.
