Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Note: For the Narrator, I didn't 100 remade all of the profile it as all the other texts are fine. I just extended the two sentence flavor texts, added interactions not in the original profile, added some pictures and added information from the Updated Release.

  • Chuck Noland was a delivery efficiency expert working for FedEx, with a stable job, friends and a loving girlfriend. On Christmas Day 1995, the delivery plane he was on got stuck down during a storm and crash-landed in the Pacific Ocean. After washing into a deserted island alone, using his resourcefulness, Chuck uses some of the packages he had found to survive on the island for 4 years. One of those packages was a volleyball, which he named 'Wilson' named after the brand of the volleyball. He draws a face and starts speaking to it like it was a person, which help keep himself somewhat sane. Eventually, Chuck tried to escape the island with a man-made raft, bringing Wilson with him. However, he got caught in another storm and lost Wilson as it floated away from his grasps. Losing his sole companion broke Chuck emotionally. Fortunately, he was rescued by a passing cargo ship shortly after. Since returning to land, he has trouble adjusting back to normalcy.
  • Chuck managed to open all but one package he had found on the island, a box with orange wings and blue halos around it. Why he kept that package unopened and decided to return the package anyway once he came back to land is only known to Chuck himself. Shortly after travelling to Texas to return the worn down package to its owner, Chuck finds himself in a middle of a crossroads and stared at the pick-up truck with the winged drawing at the back. After contemplating sometime if he should follow the pick-up truck or not, he decided to follow the driver back to her ranch, met up with her again, and told his survival story and how her package and the symbol she drew gave him a symbol of hope to live for. After chatting for a bit, they exchanged contacts.
    • Sometime many weeks later, the shipping company FedEx decided to expand into the Pantheon, much like how several fashion companies from the mortal realm decided to set up shop in the House of Costumes. Chuck, having returned to work doing his old job, travelled to this realm to check on one of their newly open branches. He was scheduled for a private meeting that day with several Pantheon representatives. But when he got there, he was informed the meeting was not a work-related at all. It was a meeting regarding an object they had found that belonged to him, a worn down volleyball with a twigs stuffed inside a bloody handprint with a face painted on it. Chuck was overwhelmed with happiness and then confusion.
    • The representatives explained that the object (or Wilson, as Chuck corrected them about the name) was floating into the ocean, eventually floating its way into the Hall of Water and Moisture where it was found. Due to its weird appearance, they decided to track its owner, through a combination of magic and detective work. Piecing together the tragic circumstances that led to Wilson's creation, its use as a companion object and Chuck's grief over losing it, touched their hearts. They then decided to offer Chuck godhood, representing those mourning for objects in general. As he was ashamed and embarrassed for the reasons why he was chosen, he was at first indecisive and then decided to decline the offer, he wanted to fully explore the realm first before deciding if he's ready to take the title. Having researched the realm before coming to the Pantheon in the first place (to be prepared and all), the possibility of finding other people who were in the same position as he was could help him cope with the things he has experienced.
  • Was former High Priest to Angela Sheehan, the girl who stole a baby Jesus statue and cared for it like it was a real thing. He found her story adorable, while Angela felt pity in his. She also weird out by Wilson at first until it was Chuck explained why he made it, which Angela understood it as "he made Wilson because he was lonely and need friends to talk to". Despite the weirdness, they formed an Intergenerational Friendship with her and her herald family (which helps as he did befriend a Russian boy and his mom in the past). He later became her High Priest until Angela decided to encourage him to take the title. There are times some people heckle Angela for what she did and Chuck stood up for her, not only because she was a child but because he wanted to prove them (and himself internally) that there's nothing to be shamed of treating objects like they were people. Chuck also became friends with Linus van Pelt for similar reasons, understood Chuck's need for Wilson just as well as Angela, and was protected by Chuck when people tried to heckle him.
  • During the early days of his godhood, there were talks about putting Wilson in The Great Treasury, where important story-related items are stored. Chuck is extremely sentimental about Wilson, given that this was his only companion for 4 years. So, Chuck requested that Wilson stay with him instead; it stays in his temple most of the time and occasionally bring Wilson with him when he's feeling a bit silly and in a good mood. Having to give up his pocket watch and the worn package (both of which have him hope), he supposed the ball was his current reminder of the hardships he had overcome during his stay on the island. Maybe when he's fully ready to move on, he can donate Wilson to the Treasury one day.
  • Chuck eventually found adults who formed connections with objects as well, later befriending them. Chell has a burnt companion cube with her from when she finally escaped from the lab she was being held at for many years. She's not very talkative, but regardless, he could relate to the sense of loneliness she must have felt being by herself for so long with no human contact. Having heard of someone mourning for an object, Chuck decided to pay a visit to Stan Pines's temple to hear more about it. Stan felt embarrassed recounting the time he holds a funeral for a wax statue of him, but that was because the statue looked just like his brother, whom he had lost in a freak portal accident years ago. Luckily, he did get his brother back, but it took a while for them to be on speaking terms.
  • Recently met Bear Grylls, who hosts a few reality shows about nature and surviving in the wilderness. After learning about his shows, Chuck commended Bear and his staff for their efforts in educating their viewers, noting that he lamented that other shows about island survival, like Gilligan's Island, did not prepare you in actually learning on how to survive on the island. Bear, in turn, as really impressed with Chuck's survival story (although he pities on how the experience took an emotional toll on him). The FedEx employee also met other island survivors, and although he feels sad for them for their unpleasant experience during the time they were stuck on an island, he was glad they were eventually rescued, thus only being stuck for a shorter period of time than Chuck was.
  • As mentioned, Chuck found several packages he found on the island, which aid his survival. Upon those are a pair of ice skates (which he uses as an axe), a dress (which he used its fabric as a fish net), a bunch of video tapes (which he used to tie his raft), and of course Wilson himself. While not as smart and resourceful as high school student and disaster survivor Senku Ishigami or the government agent Angus MacGyver, they were still impressed by his resourcefulness. Chuck downplayed his own achievements, given that he was only trying to survive and had to make use with what he ever he currently has. He also had to make use with the creatures and fauna on the island itself, for food, fire, shelter and eventually his makeshift raft. Another fellow island/wilderness survivors like Wilson (the gentleman scientist) as well as Steve and Alex, who can craft stuff using nearly everything on their environment, are also impressed by Chuck's ingenuity.
  • Hearing about the plane crash that caused Chuck's predicament made Ted Striker nervous due to his war-induced fear of flying. Nevertheless, Ted was still impressed on how Chuck managed to survived following his plane crash. Chuck, in turn, was impressed with Ted on how he handled his plane-related situation, how he bravely took over the plane when all the pilots were unable to fly during a food poisoning incident. The FedEx employee lament how he couldn't save the plane he was on, even accidentally injured one of the pilots when the plane became turbulent. Ted reassures him, he couldn't do much even if he happened to have any pilot skills and the crash was not his fault, given that Chuck told him that they couldn't find the cause of the crash in the first place.
  • Chuck has certifications for sailing and even won awards for it. It is how Chuck succeeded in sailing in his makeshift raft as soon as he had the idea to make a sail out of a piece of port-potty, and he felt like the weather was right for him to set sail. Chuck recently tried to revisit sailing again, and what better place to do that than in Hall of Land and Sea Travel. He befriended Moana, a teenage island native from the South Pacific, whose people were once skilled seafarers. Chuck became interested in their culture, their past history with sailing, and how they survived given that they mainly reside on the island their whole lives. Moana was amazing on how Chuck survived on his own for so long. They learned from each other's cultures and even giving each other sailing tips.
  • During one of his sailing trips, he got caught up in another storm, which veered him off course from his destination. He was lucky enough to land on an island with an actual inhabitant, but he still needed some repairs on his boat before he can go on off on his merry way. Said inhabitant, Robinson Crusoe, was cordial enough with him to let him stay on his island for a while. While Crusoe was proud of Chuck upon hearing his accomplishments after learning he was in a similar situation as he was, he's a bit self-centered to truly befriend the younger man. Chuck, in turn, while also impressed by Crusoe's adventures, couldn't relate to his religious affinity or his opinions on slave owning (which disturbs his modern sensibilities). When Chuck managed to repair his boat, the two men depart amicably, but the FedEx employee was glad to leave the island as soon as he can.
  • While surviving on the island is not an easy feat on its own, surviving in the middle of the ocean hoping for rescue can be just as hard. When Chuck left the island with his makeshift raft, he and Wilson had to battle the harsh waves and heavy storms just for a chance to get into calmer waters. He recently met Pi Patel, as sole survivor of a shipwreck, which also killed his whole family. Unlike Chuck, Pi never made it to land until his rescue and had to contend with the wild animals (and later a wild tiger) as his only companions. Still, they were impressed by each other's survive stories and pitied their respective loses. Chuck wasn't sure how he would fair if his only companion as a wild tiger, while Pi admitted he feels lucky that he had at least have Richard Parker (the tiger that he tamed) as a companion rather than having to make a new one on his own.
    • During his time on his raft following his island escape, he encountered a huge whale, that thankfully didn't damage his raft once the whale got close. He was thankful being eaten by a whale was not added on his list of misfortunes (although he is aware that whales don't eat humans in general). During one of his sailing trips, he was warned about other more dangerous whales among Pantheonic waters courtesy of an old man and his very young son. Chuck has taken note of these warning, as he hopes one day he would never encounter them.
  • The experiences of being on the island still linger within Chuck. For example, seeing seafood dishes causes him to blankly stare at the dish, given that those were one of the few things he can eat on the island. His prolonged isolation likely caused psychological issues, like depression or PTSD. He's a frequent visitor of the House of Despondency, and he eventually set up a second temple there.
    • One of the deities Chuck encountered in that House was Hester Prynne, a Puritan woman from the 17th century with a scarlet letter "A" on her dress. When he asked about the symbol (which is the reason why she ascended), she told him that it was a mark of adultery, as she was accused of sleeping with another man after her husband was assumed to be lost and dead. She was ashamed of this fact, especially since her husband eventually did turn up alive and tortured her lover out of revenge. Her story reminded Chuck of his former girlfriend Kelly. Fearing that Chuck was dead, the people around her told her to move on, and even thought she still thinks about Chuck and never lose hope he still alive somewhere, she did found a new lover and had a kid with him. When Chuck came back, she wanted to elope with her former boyfriend. Chuck decided to let her go and told her to not go with him for the sake of her husband and their child. Chuck was surprised by the values dissonance given how the modern times were less harsh on accidental adultery and pities Hester for being harshly treated during those times. In addition to pitying Chuck for his experiences on the island, Hester pities him for what happened to him and Kelly, was surprised on how modern times were lenient with those types of sins, and was glad he didn't turn out to be as vengeful as her husband.
  • While he did survive on the island alone for more 4 years, Chuck learns that there's are other deities who were tried to survive in isolation far longer than he was. He eventually befriended them, despite being the first non-humans he encountered. Della Duck was one such example, having her rocket ship crash-land on the moon and having to survive for 10 years alone, while trying to repair the ship to make it back home. She missed the birth of her children (who were eggs at the time), and used that as a motivation to go back home. She eventually returned to earth and initially struggled with returning to normalcy and motherhood as a result. There's also the Straw Hat member Brook, who was stuck by himself on his old pirate ship, which claimed the life of its crew, for fifty years, being kept alive by the devil fruit he ate. He kept clinging to life so that he could keep his promise to return for the young whale he befriended. After learning that Chuck's motivation for keeping himself alive was the pocket watch his girlfriend gave him, hoping to return to her (which ultimately didn't happened like he hoped), they were sad for him.
  • When Chuck was found, his unkept appearance also made him kind look like a feral, wild man. Since his return to land, he kept himself well-dressed and his extra hair and beard was trimmed away. Chuck has no interest in returning to the wild, but he was curious about those who were far away from civilization and how it affected them. He briefly met Mowgli and Goku, who, at one point in their childhood, lived in the wilderness but eventually moved into and grew up in civilization. They seem to be well-adjusted for the most part. The same can't be said for another person he met, Tarzan, who spend most of his life being raised in the wilderness, without any experience outside that world. So, he couldn't return or socialized to his original society even if he tried. Perhaps Chuck should start to consider himself lucky he was able to reintegrate himself into his old life somewhat.
  • Met Forrest Grump after being mistaken for him many times, for his apparent similarities in appearance. Forrest is a man of many accomplishments, but surviving a plane crash and several years of isolation on an island is not one of them. Although a bit of a simpleton, he's a kindhearted man that is willing to give advice to Chuck whenever he feels troubled. Through Forrest, he also met the similarly looking Capt. John Miller, a Shell-Shocked Veteran from WWII. He isn't an island survivor either, but he empathized with Chuck for what he has gone through mentally.
  • There are the rumors from the realm of a certain Griffin family that Wilson's real name is Voit or that he is secretly Ryan Gosling. There are also reports from a certain robotic chicken that Wilson has had adventures on his own before returning to Chuck. Chuck refutes these claims and that Wilson also can't walk or talk. He also strongly denies he screwed that volleyball because he was lonely. The Toys of Toy Story were curious to investigate the claims regarding Wilson's sentience, as they wanted to mostly test a theory if adults can make objects comes to life like children do (like with the case with Forky). The reason why they haven't checked Wilson yet is because Woody himself is weird out by Wilson's owner. He's too weird out by Chuck's voice to even dare visit his temple.
"I know what I have to do now. I've got to keep breathing because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring."

  • Complicated Relationship With: Stanley
  • "This is the story of a man named Stanley" were the starting words uttered by this unseen narrator, architect of the story about the aforementioned man named Stanley. The Narrator's role is simple, he has to narrate Stanley's story from beginning to end and everyone will live happily ever after. That is, if Stanley decides to follow through with said narrative, as things can get Off the Rails if Stanley decides to, making the Narrator either punish Stanley or fabricate a new tale entirely. But he is always ever-present, ready to deliver the best narration he can, even if he can get a little wacky during it.
  • The Narrator was very compelling in his ascension, although it is rumored that he "persuaded" the court of gods into allowing him to godhood. For a while he didn't really have much to do other than narrate in his usual style about whatever was happening, with zero control on what would happen. That all changed when Stanley arrived, as he gained his control over the narrative and that allowed him to steer Stanley into whatever tale he had planned for him and that also affected other deities. Said development would be the start of many bizarre misadventures for several deities.
  • His relationship with the Stanley is a complicated one. Sometimes, The Narrator is just a neutral observer narrating Stanley's life. Sometimes, he's a useful guide and a friend to him. Sometimes, they don't get along when Stanley decides to ignore him and makes his own path. Sometimes, they get along when strange things happen. Sometimes, The Narrator can be cruel to Stanley and he's even killed or lied to Stanley a few times. Sometimes, Stanley can be cruel to him by taking away his happiness and destroying his game. It all depends on the choices Stanley makes.
  • In the past, it was very common to hear mild-sounding British voice from out of nowhere state "This is the story of X", then said deity was prompted to follow the Narrator's exposition. However and quite frequently, those ended up disliking how controlling the Narrator's exposition is and often go against the Narrator's wishes. The Narrator is patient about this; he will start speaking directly to the person, often reprimanding their choice of action before placing down walls to Railroad the story back on track. Should the person cause the Narrator's tract to go completely Off the Rails, however, the Narrator will place the person in one of GLaDOS' unsolvable test chambers, commenting on the story as if it were a tragedy. He seems to particularly enjoy that last part. That's part of the reason why he and GLaDOS are very good friends.
    • Before, he would place the unruly person into the world of Minecraft, only for him to lament how open ended it was and decided to switch locations. He tried to follow Steve and Alex and tried to put up blocks to make their story seem less open-ended. That didn't end well as they were able to mine those blocks easily. He also thought about to put the unruly person into the worlds of Firewatch and Rocket League as well. But given that that he eventually didn't really liked that idea the first time when he put Stanley in those places, he decided to not pull that idea again.
  • Often is the welcoming voice to newer deities, guiding them through a "tutorial" and teaching them most of the ins and outs of the Trope Pantheons. This, however, is just optional and it was made to keep him entertained and away from other deities so he would stop trying to narrate their every movement. Stanley is often forced to help the Narrator in order to make an example of what NOT to do and Stanley has been pretty annoyed at that. The reason he doesn't help as often is because of how Stanley is likely to cause problems.
  • Considering he tends to railroads characters into his story by any means he has available. Most who he has tried to narrate over just follow because they are interested in his story, others not so much. The two he constantly has trouble with are Kamina and Old Man Henderson, whose defiance towards fate and the plot respectively has made the Narrator want to "correct" them the most but that only ends up with the Narrator giving up on them after a while.
    • Another particular deity he started to mess with was Diogenes, AKA the Man in the Cauldron. He first took notice after hearing that he was being followed by a British narrator, similar to Stanley and then both Stanley and Diogenes became friends. So the Narrator decided to test his resolve by narrating a tale where Diogenes had to climb an even more difficult mountain but he refused to follow the directions of the Narrator, making his journey all that more difficult.
    • And then there was the Abridged version of Kirito, who the Narrator decided to narrate over after hearing of how he tends to not care about the established plotline. Kirito tried to ignore him but then the Narrator started insulting him with the Awful Truth and then was promptly silenced. Since then, the Narrator loves to mess with Kirito whenever he can.
  • Often seen commentating on matches for the Defenders of the Ancient and his habit to be too wordy and very sarcastic has annoyed them to no end. Others however have found his commentary and observation to be priceless. He later began delving into the storytelling business by telling a story about someone or something called the Absolute Evil, containing multiple references to other fantasy series. The only person who seemed to like it was The Keeper, who found it similar to his escapades.
  • The Narrator was very curious after meeting Martin Walker and hearing about his story and how his own delusion led him to a villainous path. Walker on the hand despises for the very idea of being pushed to commit horrible things and does not ever want to hear his narration. The British man simply just tried to place him in a more "relaxed" story but that only made Walker more furious. He also became interested in Frank Underwood, who actually played his game once and admitted he didn't get the game he was playing. The Narrator decided to followed him around while explaining the point of his story and at one point also put Underwood in place of Stanley in Stanley's story, just to get him to understand his story. The former president still finds the whole thing confusing for him.
  • Once tried to get a hold of The Mob but they were surprisingly one of the few deities that made the Narrator feel powerless as their sheer randomness and constant hive mind mentality ended up overwhelming him. That and they are, for some reason, obsessed with the Broom Closet. (Insert Name Here) is another deity he has trouble guiding due to their ability to make "irresponsible choices". However, they are much easier to dispatch. The last time this happened, he was able to trap them outside of the confines of the game. He doesn't realize, however, that they are the ones that help Stanley move at all.
  • Vegeta once attempted to play his game but the resulting lack of rebellion and the continuous restarts drove him insane. Because of this, The Narrator is perhaps the only person besides Beerus that Vegeta fears but he will never admit it to his face. Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Rabbit, Foxy the Pirate Fox also attempted to play his game and each got different endings. Foxy doesn't get along with The Narrator, Bonnie argued with The Narrator a little less and Freddy was completely fine in following his narrations. The Narrator tried to get Chica the Chicken to play his game as well, but that remains to be seen.
  • Good friends with the Author, who fills a similar role to him except he has a lot more creative power behind him unlike the Narrator. When he heard how Bob performed a Rage Against the Author, he felt sorry for him, and decided to invite him to a game of "Save the Baby" which he personally developed. On the other hand, the Author's creation Bob has also attempted to take down the Narrator from his position but that lead nowhere as the Narrator has no tangible form.
  • He eventually met other narrators in the Pantheon. He was incredibly impressed with the narrator of Naughty Bear, whom manages to not only communicate perfectly with him, but also gets Naughty to go through with just about anything he so wishes him to do, practically his revenge. He came to respect him and the two can be heard discussing ways to get people to follow through with their stories. Although they fill similar roles and his title was named after him, the Narrator and Lemony Snicket aren't actually on cordial terms. Reason being that Snicket believes the Narrator to be too controlling of his narration and his sheer sadism when punishing those that don't follow the story has made him wary of him. The Narrator doesn't really mind that but is appalled that Lemony would call him sadistic.
  • With The Narrator being such a Control Freak, some wondered about if he has ever got a taste of his own medicine by being railroaded himself. He and Stanley did come across a white board detailing everything that is about to happen. The Narrator, ironically, didn't like this idea and refused to follow the white board, only for the universe to reset itself without his input. It is believed that the Narrator and Stanley are both stuck in a "Groundhog Day" Loop and they will continue to repeat the story eternally. Some, like Rika Furude, have blamed this on the Narrator and hated him for forcing Stanley to go through the same events over and over leading to insanity or death (sometimes both). She started to pity the Narrator once she discovered he isn't in control as much as he thinks he is but still doesn't think highly of him.
  • ICEY was one of the first deities to take a more direct approach at opposing the Narrator, given that she too was the victim of a narrator that wanted to railroad her into a story she didn't want to be part of. She was later joined by the Doki Doki Literature Club, as once they learned of the nature of their home game they started to dislike the Narrator's actions. Monika specially because the whole reason she started to mess with the code of her game was because of how she was forced to not be a love interest but discovering that the Narrator is as much of a pawn as she is made things a bit more complicated with the Narrator. The British man personally just finds ICEY and the girls amusing and would often try to narrate a tale they would be happy to be part of, even if they rarely want to follow it.
    • On the other hand there was Niko, who tried to be much nicer to the Narrator about how he goes about his storytelling but was unable to make him change his mind. Niko also felt really uncomfortable since Stanley became friends with Niko not long before meeting the Narrator and that made Niko a potential target for a tale. That and the fact that the Narrator reminds Niko of the World Machine.
  • In his original world, The Narrator is aware that he's in a video game and can be compared to a video game developer, making sure that his game and his story follows through and that Stanley doesn't ruin it by his disobedience. The Narrator had recently found new content in his game, only to be disappointed by its underwhelming offerings. He then decided to improve upon the game, creating a sequel (which is the exact game as the original one) only with added stuff like balloons, a reassurance bucket, and a bunch of Stanley figurines as collectables. In the Pantheon, he tried to reach out to other experienced video game developers for advise, only for that to end poorly.
    • He initially worked with both Robert Daly and Nobuyuki Sugou. He had a falling out with both of them as he didn't really like their ideas of adding an MMORPG (as it was too grindy and open-ended for his liking) and they both tried to take over his game as their own. Same goes with the Lucifer, creator of the arcade game Pony Island, who also did the same so that he can use it to collect souls. The Narrator had a much better time with Tulip Olsen, who has an interest in game making, and is much nicer than the ones before her. The Narrator couldn't get his head around her constructive criticism, and ended up with the same sequel game as before.
  • If there's another thing The Narrator dislikes (besides open worlds and people who don't follow him), it is being left alone. Perhaps that is why he is why he would rather follow any deity when Stanley isn't around. Some deities who are annoyed by The Narrator, wanted to risk using The Universal Remote's skip function just to skip whatever he says. (Insert Name Here), however, think that is not a good idea, citing the time he created a Skip Button because of feedback from the game. Pressing said button caused Stanley to disappear for long periods of time, causing The Narrator to lose his mind from long periods of isolation. Although The Narrator claims to not remember this event, INH thought it was either because of another memory wipe by those time loops, or something else. Believing INH's account, people who have experience isolation for longer periods (like Chuck Noland and Della Duck) pities what he has gone through.
  • Upon collecting all the figurines and reminiscing bout the past, The Narrator tries to remember the time before he made the story of The Stanley Parable. He remembers being once passionate and made "big decisions", then he stopped making those decisions and became lazy. So, he created the character of Stanley to do his thinking for him, deciding what to do and where to go. Perhaps, he thought, the reason why he created Stanley because he was lonely and wanted companionship. He told himself he would give up using Stanley one day and think for himself, only for him to resume playing with Stanley one more time. Perhaps that's why he decided to came to the Pantheon and applied as a God, so that he can finally think for himself for a change without having to rely on Stanley. It was fun having to follow all these other deities around dictating their lives, but deep down, he still misses Stanley. And so, he created a portal to finally let Stanley into the Pantheon and let him become a God too. What a lovely memory, The Narrator thought to himself, he would like to revisit this memory once more. He's just have to wait until this profile has finished.
  • Cheaters fear to be taken to the Serious Room, a small bluish-gray room with a table The Narrator hand-picked out of thousands of other serious tables. This is where the Narrator is said to deliver very serious punishments for cheaters, a practice personally endorsed by Dr. Hax. He recently retired The Serious Room in his sequel game but it still can be found in his memory room. However, he bought it back into the Pantheon, presumably out of fondness for it. Only one deity in the Pantheon has ever made it out of the room and that was, of course, Stanley himself.

"And Stanley was happy."
