Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

@Tscot: Hello and welcome! As AJ said, you can't give any approvals until you made two profiles. We do this as a countermeasure against sock-puppet accounts.

That aside, any franchises are you into, be it mainstream or niche?

I do have some ideas for possible ascensions for people to use, so I feel like it would be a good idea to run them by you guys and see if they are good.

For example, assuming that the Hellfire trope isn't already taken, someone could easily attribute it to Magnamalo from Monster Hunter Rise since it makes use of that very skill due to the Barbarous Beast consuming the monsters it kills during the rampage that happens in Kamura.

Since the Chozo are more of a benevolent precursor race, it would be a good bet that if someone were to ascend Raven Beak, the Chozo and even Samus Aran would be opposed to(the Chozo)/full blown enemies(Samus Aran), the problem is finding a trope that the Final Boss of Metroid Dread to ascend under...

And the big daddy idea is of course for someone to ascend the very company of Nintendo since they were the ones who single-handedly ended the Console Crash of 1983, as with Magnamalo; assuming that the trope in question is available.

My mind is an enigma, people have no clue what I am thinking.

  • Raven Beak is the leader of the Mawkin Tribe, a clan of Chozo who refused to accept their race’s new peaceful ways of living. He was once on the side of good, having helped the peaceful Thoha tribe seal away the Metroids on the planet SR388. However, he grew to desire the Metroids for their power upon learning that the planet they trapped them on was to be destroyed. He desired to weaponize them and use them in his plans to rule the Galaxy. Slaughtering the entire Thoha tribe, he spared Quiet Robe so that he can act as his personal scientist to help him better control the Metroids. As a result, the Metroids on SR388 would be discovered by the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates, who were under the rulership of Mother Brain. To make matters worse, the X Parasites, who the Metroids were created by the Thoha tribe to combat, were able to multiply, inadvertently causing many problems ranging from that of Mother Brain and Ridley, to the SA-X and even the Metroid Prime, who would later become Dark Samus, all due to his lust for power. In the present, he would encounter and effortlessly best Samus Aran, only letting her live when she awakens her Metroid Powers during their fight to test her strength, pretending to be ADAM and guiding her throughout her journey to find and defeat him. Later deeming her no longer useful during their final confrontation, now planning to make clones of her with her Metroid Powers that would be completely loyal to him using the E.M.M.Is, Raven Beak defeats her again and prepares to end her life...only for her Metroid Powers to awaken as she was nearly strangled to death, Samus using them to furiously drain his energy. Against the odds, Raven Beak survived, though he was pretty wounded. An X Parasite infected Raven Beak, and the new Raven Beak X tried to kill Samus and was destroyed.

Excellent, that just makes more sense for me, since Raven Beak is clearly competing with Ridley for the Most Vile of Samus Aran's rogues gallery, making those two rivals.

Now then, I feel like Preator Amalthus might be available for a possible Ascension if there was a viable Trope for him, which was the 'plan b' if Raven Beak was being worked on.

@Raven Beak: he would easily see the likes of Emperor Palpatine as a rival for conquest, a proponent of Fantastic Racism, and a complete and total disgrace due to the fact that the fall of the Galactic Empire and first order were caused by their death by Those they sought to use, he would also show some form of dislike for the Immortal God Emperor of mankind for the same reasons, minus the rivalry and the being a disgrace since Emps is more competent than Palpatine and has both the power and military might to back it up, on the other side of the coin, Raven Beak would be terrified by the presence of the Doom Slayer because of how much of a one man army the latter is, and would easily have a huge target on his back because his X Parasite form made him look like a demonic amalgamation of himself and Kraid.

Hello! I'm new here, and I just want to ask: do I need approval from someone in order to edit already-made pantheon entries? If yes, to what extent? Do I need approval to add a pothole/link? How about to add an image?

I'm asking this so that I don't just ask this question for every little thing I notice in pantheon entries.

Thank you, m-95.

[up] Generally speaking you don't need approval per se if it's a small edit or maybe even a big one, but do be careful with your edits as if they heavily modify a profile they could be reversed. All in all, if you know who made which profile you're free to ask them for permission through private messages

[up]Thank you for letting me know. I was asking because I wanted to add another image to Cronus (in Divine Roles and Flesh Eaters). I assume adding a new image would be in accordance with the rules?

Captain B.McCrea, Divine Representative Of High Obesity-Rate Futures (Captain of the Axiom)

  • Symbol: A map of the Axiom's internals
  • Theme Song: Define "Dancing"
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (formerly Lawful Neutral)
  • Portfolio: Brilliant, but Lazy, The Captain And The Only Shipmate Aware Of The Ennui Of The Big, Fat Future, Surprisingly Good Grip For Someone Who Never Exercised, finding Living Is More than Surviving, Big Good, Courage In Spite Of Fear, Reasonable Authority Figure
  • Domains: Captains, The Future, Obesity, Space, Development
  • Interested in: Noah
  • Allies: WALL-E and EVE, Captain Planet and the Planeteers, Jaime Reyes, Lillie, Jimmy Livingston, The Doctor (11th incarnation), Captain Olimar and the Pikmin
  • On good terms with: The Deep Space 9 main characters, Snorlax, Cortana, Obelix, Team Lightyear
  • On speaking terms with: Jay Gatsby
  • Enemies: AUTO, The Grand United Alliance of Machines, Hexxus, Charles Montgomery Burns, Ragyo Kiryuin and anyone who wants to ruin the Earth/its environment, Lord Crumb, Black Doom, Senator Steven Armstrong, Prime Minister Honest
  • Opposes: Zapp Brannigan, HAL 9000
  • Fears: The Hall of Flesh Eaters, YHVH and Lucifer, Slaanesh, Planet Remina
  • Distrusts: Buy n Large
  • Annoyed by: Eric Cartman
  • A bit concerned over: The Hall of Businesses and Corporations
  • Captain B McCrea is the latest in a line of captions of the Axiom, a massive space-ship meant to serve as an exodus for humanity for five years while the Earth is cleaned up of its waste and pollution. However the inhospitability of the Earth caused this to be extended over seven hundred years. The lap of luxury and micro-gravity caused mankind to become fat and lazy, and the Captain begun to felt a sense of ennui about it all. He was very interested to learn of Earth upon being shown evidence that life could still grow, and felt it was time to turn back and deal with the Earth despite being "a bit of a fixer-upper". AUTO wasn't fond of that plan at all. Fortunately the Captain was able to assert control and the Axiom could return to Earth.
  • Despite representing the Big, Fat Future trope, it's not something the Captain is all that fond of. Eric Cartman was at awe with the Axiom because it could fulfill all his selfish desires, however the Captain thinks he's an annoying little jerk. Admittedly those are kind words, but he doesn't have the time to get in a feud with the Fat Bastard. Rather, he wants to look for help in rebuilding the Earth of his universe. Captain Planet and the Planeteers were happy to help because they're all about saving the environment, and the condition that forced the Captain's ancestors to leave is the kind of disaster their polluting foes would create. The fact that life could still sprout helped them feel more optimism.
  • Happy to see that WALL-E and Eve were already apart of the Trope Pantheon. Not happy to learn AUTO was, of course. And while he doesn't understand much about Buy n Large he certainly doesn't trust them for their hyper-consumerist role in polluting the Earth. In their defense, they realized that and Procedure A-113 was seen as a necessary evil. The Captain considers Mr Burns to be even worse than Buy n Large since he knows he's a mean SOB and is the kind of person to intentionally ruin the Earth with pollution just so everyone would have to pay to be on his version of the Axiom. As a whole, the Captain of the Axiom is trying to check up on his computer alerts about what's happening in the Hall of Businesses And Corporations in case of how it could affect might.
  • Because of AUTO's Anti-Mutiny, the good Captain isn't fond of the GUAM and their spiel of robot supremacy. AUTO actually agrees with this since it isn't interested in (intentional) machine supremacy and hates the idea of Kill All Humans, but McCrea has pointed out it isn't much better as it disregards consent in helping people. McCrea believes AUTO should be more personal like Cortana. Due to his experience with AUTO, the good Captain isn't fond of HAL 9000, who AUTO was modeled off. Despite their friendship, HAL isn't interested in antagonizing the crew of the Axiom.
  • Captain McCrea was interested to learn about Jaime Reyes, due to how the Reach who he got his scarab from work; after seeding a planet they would come over to give technology, as part of a long game to slowly make the to-be conquered lazy and content and thus easy pickings to conquer. He hopes that the Reach don't try to exploit Buy n Large for that purpose, and can count on the Blue Beetle. He was also interested in Noah, who also piloted a ship to protect mankind from a disaster....though from an oncoming flood due to human wickedness rather than fleeing from the impact of human greed. Some think there's an intentional parallel, but the Captain is still trying to read more of The Bible and other books heavy on the allegory to decide this for himself.
  • There have been theories that the necessary evil has a far darker undercurrent. AUTO has vehemently denied it as a possibility by pointing out they have food regenerators, however the Captain was shaken up enough about the theories to be terrified about the Hall of Flesh Eaters and anything associated with cannibalism. Sapient-eating aliens, however, feel the Axiom's citizens should be food. Black Doom feels they would be easy pickings to farm and feed him and his Black Arms army. Lord Crumb considers the people of the Axiom as a fattening guilty pleasure, and he wasn't happy that the citizens of the Axiom are reintegrating themselves to the Earth.
  • Majorly creeped out by Slaanesh. As the embodiment of excess and lust, he considers him/her emblematic of the problems of the Axiom and what it could've devolved into if given enough time. He's spooked out by YHVH, Lucifer and Planet Remina too. The God of Order's beliefs in absolute obedience and lack of much outside of following Him is a religious extreme to the idea of humanity being enslaved by consumerism and just used to going through the motions, and while Lucifer agrees that with the Captain that he needed to go to Earth so humanity could re-learn struggle, trial and error the Might Makes Right chaos of Lucifer. Remina of course would just eat the Earth or whatever planet they the Axiom tries to settle on, though the Axiom is probably too small for it to consider having "even as a snack".
  • Prime Minister Honest wanted to congratulate him on the state of the Axiom, seeing it as a paradise for himself, only to be disappointed that McCrea "abandoned it". Captain McCrea was disgusted by him as if someone like Honest was piloting the Axiom, he would warp the already overly consummerist ship into a den of debuachery for his own pleasure. Senator Armstrong had the opposite opinion; he was absolutely disgusted by the Big, Fat Future robbing people of strength and making them utterly reliant on consumerism. He's proud that the Captain chose to fight against the system despite growing up in the lap of luxury. While he gets the disgust, the Captain believes Armstrong's alternative is going overboard in the other direction.
  • Holds no respect for Zapp Brannigan due to being an incompetent commander. Zapp tried to point out that the Captain isn't a military captain, however the Captain reminded him that his ineptitude included piloting ships like the attempt at a gravity assist with comets or ramming the Nimbus through tight gates. He's even less fond of Hexxus due to his alliance with the Planeteers and Hexxus outright wanting the Polluted Wasteland that led the Axiom to being built in the first place. The Captain shares most gods' disgust towards Ragyo Kiryuin as well, and among her many crimes she's a business magnate who sold humanity out for a parasitic alien.
  • Likes Obelix as while he's pretty chunky himself, he's got a good amount of muscle underneath it and he's a fun guy to be around with. He likes Snorlax for the same reason, though wishes the Pokemon could be less lazy. Snorlax is fine sticking around for the Axiom cup food, but tends to keep to himself. Because Captain McCrea is the head of a spaceship, he'll sometimes look for advice from the crew of Deep Space 9, or Team Lightyear. Having dealt with a problematic generation ship before, the 11th Doctor visited to give him some advice; he should consider working with Captain Olimar to explore and prepare the Earth for re-habitation.
  • The Captain has also been studying Earth history and culture pre-catastrophe, which eventually led to him reading The Great Gatsby as one of his first physical books. He can sympathize with the main protagonist's feeling of wealth being empty, as he has felt emptiness in his position of captain and the automation on the ship. He's formed a friendship with Lillie and Jimmy Livingston. Having dealt with the ennui of the Axiom, he sympathizes with how the latter must feel with being a bubble boy. As for Lillie, he likes how she grew from being introverted to courageous.

Finally found an obscure trope that Law could get

Trafalgar D. Water Law, God of Those Saved By Phlebotinum (Law was infected by White Lead poisoning, a generational disease caused by the ore that the country imported primarily. All countries around his came in and enacted genocide to his nation, and Law is the last known survivor who saw all his friends and family get gunned down, bombed, and set on fire for their disease. Journey to get a cure in the form of the Op-Op fruit with Corazon who cared for him would not only save Law from his premature death by the poison, but also save him from being outcasted by society that wants him dead. Technical, if Law lost his ability then he would probably die because he was not meant to live that long in his generation.)

Aaaand here’s a rework proposal.

Kefka Palazzo, God of Madness Born From Power

Reasoning: Most of the texts are short and he has no ascension text. He fits the trope because he was once an imperial man who became the prototype of the Magitek Experiment. This gave him various magical powers, but he went absolutely insane as a result, to the point of becoming a Straw Nihilist Omnicidal Maniac Monster Clown For the Evulz, and eventually ascends to divinity, which makes him WORSE.

Guido Anselmi, God of Creator Breakdowns (Guido Contini)

  • Portfolio: Creator Breakdown, Author Avatar, Ridiculous Procrastinator, All Take and No Give, Title by Number
  • Domains: Cinema, Artists, Psychology
  • Allies: Mima Kirigoe, Barton Fink
  • Enemies:
  • Complicated Relations: Norma Desmond
  • Acclaimed film director Guido Anselmi was supposed to work on his next project, a sci-fi movie. However, Guido could not put his heart or mind into it for a variety of reasons. For one, expectations from all sides were incredibly high and put massive pressure on him. He also had a messy personal life from juggling his wife and his mistress, was haunted by childhood memories, and a recent diagnosis made him fear growing old and losing his faculties. He spent most of his time doing a great deal of self-reflection while avoiding working on his film. In the end, he made a resolution to change, starting by making amends with his long-suffering wife. He also cancelled the film, which was going nowhere, and started planning for a more personal project that he could put his being into.
  • His ascension was lobbied for by the silent film star Norma Desmond, and despite the fact that people in general are in the habit of not taking the mentally unstable actress' antics too seriously, it actually wasn't too difficult for her to convince the higher-ups that she had a point when it came to the value of ascending a legendary film character who was, on top of that, a talented film director. Naturally Guido was very surprised by the Pantheon and had to take some time to absorb it all. However, he was definitely intrigued by the Pantheon's offers to do his creative work in such fantastical premises, and eventually he accepted a title and permanent temple there, but only after he was finished with his personal movie.
  • One can easily guess that Norma had her own long-term goals in ascending Guido that had nothing to do with her heart's generosity, and those goals predictably revolved around the idea of Guido casting her in a project of his. Her idea was to get back some of her clout by starring in a prestigious international picture by a respected director. To the surprise of some, Guido was completely willing to help her in these designs, out of gratitude to her for helping him get a foot in the Pantheon's door, and out of respect for an actress who was once legitimately great, as well as perhaps some sympathy for a colleague whom the demands of the film industry took a mental toll on, something he can certainly relate to. And so made a picture with her in which she had a prominent role, albeit not quite starring. This was not entirely to Norma's liking, but the film and specifically her performance got rave reviews that softened her displeasure. The two could be considered to have been friends for a while, until they had a falling-out after Guido talked about his next project and said Norma would not be cast in it as there wasn't a place for her there, which angered her (rumor also has it that Norma tried hitting on him and he rebuffed her).
  • Another actress Guido displays interest in working with at some point is Mima Kirigoe, which is almost certainly to Norma's chagrin, who has always decried Mima for being, in her view, as interesting as plain yogurt. One can imagine that Guido, a womanizer at heart, might have less-than-pure interests in the girl, though for what it's worth he is trying his hardest to keep his present relationships with actresses strictly professional so as to not cause duress to his wife. As for Mima's opinion, she feels incredibly honored that a director as renowned as Guido is looking her way at all and thinks it would be a great opportunity for her to show what she's made of as an artist if he ever gives her a chance to be cast in one of his projects. For now, Guido keeps her on a shortlist as he ponders his next step (and also takes care that Norma doesn't try to relatiate against the poor girl, whom he understands has suffered her share of breakdowns as well).
  • He's hardly the only artist to have gone through a creative crisis, though some might say he is the definitive example of such. But at any rate, he has met and occasionally befriended others who have been in similar impasses, with one example being Barton Fink, a playwright who was quickly courted by Hollywood studios once one of his works found great success. Much like Guido, Barton had some rather surreal experiences as he grappled with Writer's Block when he was meant to be writing a screenplay. Guido and Barton became close due to their shared pain, with Barton looking up to Guido as an auteur who's not tied up in the cheapness of Hollywood. Guido in turn thinks Barton might be too pretentious and lacking in self-awareness, faults that he seems to find frequently in writers, although he would consider directing one of his screenplays nonetheless.

  • Herald: The Director
  • Followers: All sorts of zombies that are a cut above the usual shambler
  • Allies: Albert Wesker, Spooky, Koume Shirasaka, Dr. Zomboss
    • Tanks: Stitches
  • Enemies: The Green Flu Survivors, all Zombie Apocalypse Survivors, all Zombie/Undead Hunters, most living beings in general, The Hunter, Bloom and Doom Seed Co. Plants, The Griffin and Kryuger Tactical Dolls, All pyrokinetics (special mention to Firefly and the Pyro)
  • Source of Interest for: Edward Richtofen, Abathur
  • In the world of Left 4 Dead, there came an outbreak known as the Green Flu, an unknown bio-hazard level 4 virus (and likely mutated strain of rabies) that broke out in the United States and converted most humans who came into contact with it into homicidal and zombie-like beings known as the Infected.
    • The usual zombie is often shambling and shuffling and moaning with no variation in their tactics or dramatic potential, though there are those that run if they're technically still alive. And so to spice things up narratively, if one isn't inclined to (just) work on the fraying cohesiveness of the survivors, "upgrading" the zombies is another option. Enter the Green Flu Special Infected. A cut above their Common counterparts, the Specials possess unusual symptoms that grant them inhumane abilities designed to maim, obstruct and kill any Survivors they encounter. They can be easily identified from the Commons by said symptoms heavily mutilating and mutating their bodies to the point of irreversible trauma. They're also smart enough to wait in ambush, flee when under fire (for some of them), and not go for loud noises like their Common brethren.
  • While three of them have already made their debut in the Pantheon already, the presence of the rest became known upon sightings of the Hunter abandoning his temple and converging in on the House of Undead. Once sightings of more Special Infected were reported by the token good teammates of the House, the Green Survivors realized one thing; someone has ascended the rest of them to the Pantheon, and has gathered them all together. Just one Tank was bad enough, and one Hunter a bit less so, but now that there are several more of each (though slightly less in terms of Tanks), any so with many more variants now present, their threat level has now skyrocketed.
  • Applies to all or some of them:
    • When certain villainous undead deities gathered together where the Special Infected now resided, an unknown entity made themselves known to be the "ringmaster" behind them all; the Director. Their goals are unknown, other than to spread the Green Flu, and kill the immune, though they've been known to have a tendency to give them a fighting chance, or screw them over out of boredom, which is most of the time. For some reason, despite how quickly the Green Flu mutates, it's unable to infect most of the Pantheon, and the Director is confused by this.
    • There seem to be two unique mindsets the Special Infected take (with the exception of Witches) during hunts. One is the default "Director" mindset, where they act independently and perform only their assigned roles in taking out Survivors. The other is the "Player" mindset, where they're a lot more sentient, enact really creative strategies, and even work in tandem with one another.
    • Albert Wesker is more than pleased with the ascension of more Special Infected, and has taken a lot more time to study them. None of them seem to be hostile to him (except the Witches after after the first time he ended up provoking and killing one, though he's learned to take stricter measures against the likes of her), so who knows what would happen if Wesker gets a sample of Green Flu or manages to weaponize the Special Infected.
      • Richtofen has also taken interest, though mostly on the Tank, and is working with Wesker on investigating how to weaponize a serum in order to transform anybody into a Tank. Obviously, this was met with a lot of opposition.
      • On the other hand, Abathur has taken a liking to the Special Infected, seeing them as potential targets for evolution, but only on the ones that have shown signs of further evolution as some like the Boomer and Spitter are too feeble and unable to ascend further, lacking little usefulness for the Zerg.
      • Dr. Zomboss is interested in making the Special Infected part of his henchmen, especially Tanks given their similarities to Gargantuars. However, controlling them hasn't been easy for the undead doctor, as Tanks care little about allies and is bound to crush anyone who gets in his way, while Witches would rather stay put or walk at their own pace. Zomboss is not giving up however, and still tries to find a way to make them useful.
    • Like most undead, fire is a key weakness against the Special Infected, especially against Tanks (though Witches actually run faster). As such, they all have a huge aversion towards fire, making them avoid the Hall of Fire and Heat like the plague. A fair number of pyrokinetics have been commissioned, The Pyro and Firefly being the top Hired Guns for the job whenever a Tank (or two, or three) is on a rampage, which infuriate them to no end. Vector frequently handles incendiary grenades as well.
    • When Spooky found out about the existence of the Tank when the first one ascended, she immediately captured and brought it to her mansion. Of course, the authorities had to step in when they heard that the Tank was a very effective Specimen when it comes to killing the unfortunate visitors of Spooky's mansion. Though Spooky was able to make a deal that she would take care of the Tank in the weekends in order to stop his constant rampages if he is put in her home.
      • That said, with the ascension of the rest, she's only content with containing a few Tanks, and has also took interest in the other strains, especially Witches and Spitters.
    • As zombies, all hunters of such, as well as Zombie Apocalypse survivors oppose the Special Infected by default, most of all the Green Flu Survivors, who have experienced their work firsthand.
  • Exclusive to Boomers:
    • Boomers are a special type of Special Infected whose mutation allows them to store immense quantities of bile inside their bodies. This bile can come out through the mouth, or violently everywhere out of the body should they be killed, leaving the victim(s) thoroughly covered in bile for a couple of seconds before it mysteriously evaporates. In between, the bile combined with the victim's natural pheromones (prior to ascension, this has only been proven in the case of humans) produces a scent that is strong enough to attract a large horde of Green Flu Infected out of seemingly nowhere.
      • It is unknown as of yet if the bile is capable of driving other types of zombies under a similar frenzy, or if the bile reacting to natural pheromones of other extraterrestrials will also attract a horde (in regards to synthetic beings, contact with organics can leave their pheromones on them from interaction). For some reason, despite being borne from the Green Flu, it hasn't been able to spread the infection via this bile.
    • Scientists have managed to extract some of CEDA's research data to produce Bile bombs that can replicate the effects of a Boomer's bile. Their bile's interaction on human skin still takes precedence over this synthetic knockoff though when both stenches are emitted in the same area. The Boomer's own bile has no effect on its own kin, but the synthetic bile does. Tests are being done on other zombie test subjects.
    • It is not known if Boomers were obese prior to infection, or if the chemicals within their bodies caused them to look so bloated. It may also explain how they can still climb stairs and ladders; the bile or air inside makes them lighter than they look.
    • Atros noticed that, aside from their lantern powers, the Red Lanterns can vomit "corrosive plasma", and just barely pass on the undead stipulation, since they die if they take their rings off (not him, though). He's taken a slight interest in Boomers.
    • It's always advisory to keep Boomers at a distance when you're blowing them up; anything near will be stumbled from the impact, friend or foe. It's also a rule of thumb to get rid of the Boomer first, even before a Tank; overall health aside, having a horde of Infected swarm on your position would make dealing with the Tank that much harder. On occasion, some Boomers may kamikaze from high areas to explode their puke all over an unsuspecting party.
    • In a "Player" mindset, Boomers can "snipe" survivors from afar with bile, jump amidst them and be jostled like a hot potato, or get themselves blown up to knock away a Hunter or Charger attacking a Survivor so they can pull back and attack again later.
  • Exclusive to Hunters:
    • Judging from their getup, it seems that Hunters were into Le Parkour pre-infection, explaining their proficiency with jumping. This has made them quite a lot of enemies with those who practise said activity, as Hunters seem to bump into them fairly often.
    • Closer examination has determined that Hunters have no eyes and is actually blind, which raises the question as to why they're effective at killing humans. Many attribute this to their screaming to be some kind of echolocation, but other are not so sure.
      • Rei Miyamoto and Saeko Busujima have stated that Hunters is eerily similar to "Them" from their world, who rely on their hearing to attack survivors. However, they have also said that Hunters are much more dangerous, as they're able to track down their prey much more easily than the average infected. Link also has a really big dislike towards Hunters, as they remind him of the ReDeads, who also like to pounce on their foes.
    • The Hunter attire has been proved to be very popular among the community of his fans. So popular in fact, that the Scout made a costume based on them, called Rooftop Rebel. This ends up getting him in trouble with the Hunters whenever the Mann Co. Mercenaries are purging Green Flu infected.
    • Often compared to Alex Mercer given their shared inhuman nature and their shared use of Parkour abilities. However, while the Hunters don't mind Alex's presence, the latter has adopted a few like some sort of pet, since he sees no use in absorbing them. The other strains, though...
    • For some reason, one Hunter has a weird obssession with Medkits ever since his infection. He can be often be seen in the House of Health and Diseases trying to steal some of them. Nobody knows why he wants them.
    • When pushing a Hunter off someone, make sure not to do it at the left hip. If that's done, instead of staggering, the Hunter will perform a back roll and be ready to strike again in just a second.
    • In a "Player" mindset, Hunters can pounce from lesser or greater distances, can claw at Survivors amidst Common Infected (though some Director"-mindset Hunters do this too), pounce during Horde events or Tank attacks rather than just group strays, hit-and-run with claw attacks at a group from behind, Wall Jump to crazy degrees to reach great heights, pounce on a Smoker or Jockey's victim to free them to attack another Survivor (or allow them to get to safety at risk of the Hunter's life), hide behind or stand in front of car alarms or Witches for baiting and combos, or even prod said Witch while Survivors are in range.
  • Exclusive to Smokers:
    • Smokers are Special Infected that shoot out their extremely long tongue (which might also be their intestines or as a result of fungus growth on their faces) at a Survivor and drag them away to claw at. Though if there's something in the way like a high wall or gravity to hang, the tongue will tighten and choke the Survivor. The main reasons Smokers are called as such however is, well, the green smoke that spews out from them, in addition to their coughing. This smoke also bursts out when a Smoker is killed, and it reported to be rancid and cough-inducing but is otherwise harmless apart from being obstructive to vision.
    • For all its strength to pull its victim, a Smoker's tongue is easily cut by any bladed weapon, bullet, or even a door closing on it. Even so, it regenerates to full length after 30 seconds. Given they use their tongues as a form of attack, they loathe those able to easily neutralize that, such as those able to slice it with ease, or even use it against them by pulling the Smoker instead.
    • Under a "Director" mindset, Smokers always run after their tongues get cut until they're ready again. In a "Player" mindset, not only do they melee attack if need be, they also tend to drag victims directly into hazards such as fire, large drops, a Boomer, a Charger, a Spitter's puddle, or even a Witch. They're dedicated to stalling for the other Special Infected, also also tend to stay in high places for better snags, between car alarms to incite a Survivor to trigger them in the process of killing the Smoker, or even low places just to waste their adversaries' time having to climb again. They can even snag Survivors mid-jump (both them and Smokers). In terms of cooperation, they can even work with Hunters by pulling Survivors towards them, then claiming another while the first is getting attacked by the Hunter, or grabbing a Jockey's victim so they can pounce on another.
  • Exclusive to Chargers:
    • Chargers are easily one of the toughest of the Special Infected, only behind the Witch and the Tank in terms of sheer power and have the capability of taking down a group of survivors if left unchecked. They have a preference of ramming their victims and pummeling them to the ground util they are dead. However, while rushing, they can't move or turn until a certain distance or hitting a wall. Due to their size, they cannot be shoved off of Survivor's they're attacking unless they have the strength of an explosive.
    • Because of their method of attack, fighting a charger should be the same as "fighting" a bull. It is not known why there are no Chargers with vestigial right arms and swelled left arms.
    • Under a "Director" mindset, Chargers take 1/3 less damage when charging. In a "Player" mindset, they're usually the first on the attack to allow for other Special Infected to do their thing, deliberately take a Survivor with them down a lethal or long drop, will always try to ambush when possible, go for the healthiest/busiest/least Boomer-biled of a Survivor group, charge from high places, or knock a Jockey in trouble out of danger (or better yet, onto another Survivor).
  • Exclusive to Jockeys:
    • Jockeys are Special Infected that have the ability to jump onto Survivors and cling to their head and upper-back. From there, they can steer the Survivor while clawing at their face. Usually, this steering usually means away from the group, other Infected, into flames, ledges, or car alarms, the attack path of another Special Infected like Spitter puddles or Witches, and even off great heights.
    • Intercepting a Jockey's pounce is harder than doing the same on a Hunter as it's better able to latch on. Given how Jockeys do their thing, it often looks like humping, and none of the Survivors find it dignified to be at the receiving end of their forceful moving.
      • Speaking of that, Joseph Joestar and Muhammad Avdol once got stuck in such a compromising position during their battle with the Stand-user Mariah. To add insult to injury, a crowd gathered around by that point and a old woman that Joseph accidentally charmed earlier ends up whacking them both with an umbrella for playing with her heart. As a result, the two end up killing such Special Infected with extreme prejudice if those humpers ever try.
    • Under a "Director" mindset, Jockeys will always just steer Survivors into hordes, Spitter acid, fires, Witches, and Tanks. In a "Player" mindset, they're as likely to change steering directions at random to confuse their victim, drop on them from above, adapt similar tactics used by "Player" Hunters, capitalize on indoor areas to pull victims into rooms or against walls, or pull Survivors away from those already snagged by Hunters or Smokers.
  • Exclusive to Spitters:
    • Spitters are Special Infected that can spit out a ball of mutated stomach acid which, upon hitting the ground, spreads out into a large pool (and glows in the dark). Any Survivors standing within the pool of acid take increasing amounts of damage based on how long the acid has been down, though it's not very reliable in that regard as it only lasts for a short time. Another pool spawns when a Spitter is killed.
    • For some reason, Spitter acid does not arc when upchucked. Instead of being pulled downward by gravity, it will go perfectly straight, and after a short distance, make a sudden ninety-degree turn towards the ground. "Player" Spitters in particular use this trick to attack from across buildings while seemingly doing so from above. Out of all Special Infected, only Spitters can attack while jumping (not counting jump attacks by Hunters and Jockeys) or on ladders.
    • Under a "Director" mindset, Spitters will usually get themselves killed after hurling on their location in order to create another acid patch to zone out Survivors. In a "Player" mindset, they never attack from the front, sometimes upchuck in where Survivors are going or where they're waiting, spit at gas cans to set them ablaze or at ladders, strike from above and/or afar, hawk up goo while a Survivor is being helped up to their feet, or attack those gunked in Boomer bile or being attacked by other Special Infected.
  • Exclusive to Witches:
    • Witches are Special Infected that aren't not initially hostile and are always found in a dormant sitting or slow walking state. However, if startled or attacked, they can instantly incapacitate, or even kill, their provoker.
      • When alerted to the presence of a non-Infected or a flashlight, a Witch will look in the Survivor's direction and make a low warning growl, signalling an incipient attack. If the Survivor immediately backs away and/or turns the flashlight away, the Witch will gradually return to her wailing state. Otherwise, she will slowly stand and flail her arms in a threatening manner. If the provoker still has not stopped, she will single them out and run at incredible speeds (shoving other Survivors in her way), and can incapacitate her victim instantly whereupon she frenziedly slashes that person with her clawed hands, only stopping if either she or the victim dies. If shot, struck by explosives/exploding Boomers, or physically collided, the Witch will instantly gun for the culprit.
      • That said, if set on fire, thrown bile on, or physically blocked, the Witch will switch targets to that particular interferer. If the Witch is still alive after killing a Survivor or she's unable to reach her target, she will go into a panic and attempt to flee the area, successfully doing so after the Survivors lose sight of her for 1-2 seconds. Speaking of bile, she's the only Special Infected to mow down Common Infected that converge on her position so long as they're in the way of the bile tosser.
    • Besides the usual stationary kind (at least by the time Survivors spot them), there are also the Wandering Witches, who walk around aimlessly in the day. Becuase of the sunlight, these Witches are less prone to flashlights, but because they're already upright, they're more easily startled.
    • Despite the many things that can provoke Witches, they're not distracted by flashing lights, beeping sounds, or car alarms (though the last will alert her of the Survivors' presence). However, when it comes to thunder, that's an interesting story.
    • Witches are known to have a strange attraction to the smell of sugar, which explains why there are a large number of Witches near Ducatel Sugar Mill as attested to by the Savannah Survivors. As such, there have been sightings of several of them at Sugar Rush and approaching the Candy Kingdom (and not provoking the Gumball Guardians since they're less evil and more lost souls). This has caused distress for Vanellope even if she's not ruling Sugar Rush anymore and Princess Bubblegum as dealing with Witches is difficult as it is for four gun-toting humans.
    • Among certain daredevil zombie hunters is the challenge of "Cr0wning" a Witch by killing her without startling her, usually with a shotgun. Usually, this means the chalenger has to approach the Witch, and land all their pellets on her body or head. Any less will usually spell instant incapacitation or death given how tough Witches are.
    • Unlike other Special Infected, there are no instances of Witches in a "Player" mindset. That said, "Player" Special Infected may take a chance to claw her to alert them and be more easily driven berserk by flashlights or approaching Survivors, or even use them in their attack plan. That said, some Witches have been known to strike down "Player" hunters for that clawing, and those Hunters usually head for Survivors to capitalize on the panic.
  • Exclusive to Tanks:
    • The Tank is arguably the most powerful Special Infected along with the Witch. Unless the team works together to take a Tank down, it can wipe out entire squads with or without help. The reason why is because not only are Tanks huge and strong, they're fast enough to keep up with a healthy Survivor, and can even climb buildings. Besides punching obstacles into Survivors, they can also pick up rubble from the ground (or other things like cars) and toss it at them. And they will not stop until all Survivors are dead, or until the Tank is dead.
    • Are the sole reason there are very few visitors, given they're openly hostile to all humans and many other living beings. And those that aren't (including other Special Infected) still run the risk of getting punched out of the way if between a Tank and its target.
    • It is said that the Tank mutation heavily resembles that of The Hulk. Banner himself pities the poor soul that was unlucky enough to become what we know as the Tank and has even try to find a cure, but so far he has been unsuccessful.
    • Stitches considers Tanks to be the perfect playmates as the creature doesn't attack him on sight like he does with others (provided that he doesn't get in the way). His favourite game is hooking someone only for the Tank to punch them away, which amuses the abomination.
    • In one ocassion, the first ascended Tank stumbled upon the young Gnar, who was standing before him, looking to pick a fight. But when he transformed into Mega Gnar, the fight quickly turned into a huge mess that destroyed the entire area. The Court is taking extra measures in case these two encounter one another again.
    • Surprisingly, they have developed a rivalry with the Goliath, another hulking creature that causes havoc whenever he is around. Goliath has come to blows with them from time to time, but they have an affinity to hunt down humans, so in a sense, there is respect between the creatures.
    • The Hall of Combat Wrestling used to exploit the Tank as a "perfect sparring partner", with a challenge amongst its members on who can defeat the tank in a direct fist fight, which is no easy task. With more Tanks in the Pantheon, they're required to make sure that there's only one Tank in the House of Combat/Sports before sparring with them, and to help exterminate the rest.
    • Apparently, frying pans used to do extra damage on him compared to other standard weapons. Its effectiveness has since been halved, making everyone running up to a Tank and smashing him with four Frying Pans Of Doom very impractical in taking him down. Also, despite their bulk, dead Tanks float on water. No one knows how this is possible.
    • There have been reports of one Tank behaving like an english gentleman. Whenever this is true or not remains a mystery.
  • Under a "Director" mindset, Tanks never attack Survivors pinned by other Special Infected unless they collide during the Tank's attack, and always go for those still standing rather than risk its life taking out the one already downed. In a "Player" mindset, some Tanks are more comfortable "sniping" down Survivors with thrown items, dip into nearby water to douse any fire on them, punch Survivors away from one another or even off large drops when possible, avoid mounted guns and other high DPS weapons, punch chainsaw wielders as soon as they enter range, or stand between pinned Survivors (by way of Hunter, Smoker, or Charger) and their allies.

So it's come to my attention that Human Mom Non Human Dad will soon be wiped off the map here on Tv Tropes. If that is the case, may I suggest a replacement trope for Hana and the Wolf Man? That trope being Good Parents.

The Reason: All throughout Wolf Children, Hana is one incredibly devoted mother, basically doing everything in her power to raise and look after her two children, Ame and Yuki. And while the Wolf-Man isn't in the movie for long, he is shown to be just as caring. Heck, he died while trying to hunt for his kids.

Time to explore the world!

  • The Peggle Masters are the teachers of a school known as the Peggle Institute, an academy dedicated to a game known as Peggle. This game centers around shooting silver balls at pegs and blocks to hit them and remove them from play. Among these pegs are twenty-five orange pegs, and shooting all of these clears the current level. It’s really that simple.
  • The Pantheon one day received word of a new school that had appeared somewhere. A formal investigation by the Pantheon Police Force located the school, and they quickly found Bjorn, the founder of the school. After Bjorn explained that the Peggle Masters meant no harm, they were summoned before the Court of the Gods. The Court determined that the Peggle Institute could stay in the Pantheon, as it did not appear to be causing any trouble, and decided that, as a brilliant choral rendition of Beethoven’s Ode to Joy blares every time someone clears a level.
  • After this, the Peggle Institute quickly became a spot for Gods to go to when they wanted to learn how to play and learn Peggle. The courses for this consist of five levels for each Master, and a final set of five levels known as the Master Levels, which are widely agreed to be some of the hardest the Institute can offer. Clearing these makes you a "Master of Peggle". After this, students can engage in challenges to advance further in rank to become "Grand Master of Peggle". And for those looking to go all the way, clearing every level after hitting every peg and block allows you to become a "Extreme Grand Master of Peggle".
  • Some reports say that the Peggle Masters traveled to Azaroth and created some Peggle levels there. None of the people of Azaroth care for Peggle, as they have much better things to do than play such a game. Kel'Thuzad seemed most agitated, as he thinks the Peggle Institute is pathetic compared to Scholomance. He has considered attacking the Institute, but is swayed away from it every time when his underlings note that nothing is achieved by attacking it.
  • Bjorn the Unicorn is the first Peggle Master students will be taught by. His levels usually consist of simple countrysides and calm pastures. As a unicorn, Bjorn gets along with many of the good-aligned deities from Equestria, in particular Twilight Sparkle, as she understands the struggles of being a student to anyone. She also finds Megan Williams, although Megan notes Bjorn is too big for her to properly care for.
    • Bjorn's secret wish is to one day become a costumed superhero to fight crime. To that end, some deities say Bjorn has been seen entering the Batcave and speaking with Batman. Only the Dark Knight knows the truth, and he isn’t saying anything, as usual.
  • The second Peggle Master students learn from is Jimmy Lightning, a gopher who has a love of skateboarding. His levels consist of forest themed areas. Naturally, he can often be seen skating around the Pantheon, but wishes he could find some other deities who also enjoyed skateboarding so that he could start a club.
    • Jimmy's secret wish is to become a scientist, not because he wants to become famous, but because he wishes to advance technology. As a result, sometimes Jimmy can be found in the House of Science, doing his best to help the deities there advance technology. He has partnered best with Jimmy Neutron, and is helping him ensure his inventions stops backfiring.
  • Third up is Kat Tut, a cat with an Egyptian motif. His levels, naturally, are all themed around Egypt. He often visits temples of the Egyptian Gods, but he likes Ra most of all, as he thinks Ra is the kindest god of them. Ra personally enjoys Kat Tut's presence, as he livens up the temple quite well. However, Kat Tut is baffled by Settra, noting that he seems to border on being evil at many times.
    • Kat Tut's secret dream is to join the circus and take part in daredevil acts. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many circuses in the Pantheon. One day, Kat Tut thought he'd found one he could work in. Sadly for him, he’d just walked right into the tent of the Dead Moon Circus, who proceeded to extract his Dream Mirror from him. Fortunately, the Sailor Senshi were informed about what happened by the other Peggle Masters and quickly saved him. Kat Tut has since made certain to avoid the Dead Moon Circus.
  • Fourth is Splork, an alien who has a bizarre way of speaking. His levels are naturally space themed as a result. Splork quickly got to visit the House of Extraterrestrials, but was disappointed to find that most of them were evil. There was one exception, however- he befriended E.T. and taught him how to play Peggle, and the alien has enjoyed playing it ever since.
    • Splork's secret dream is to master the sport of bowling, and as such, he began searching for someone to help him with it. He eventually found a good partner in The Dude, who was more than pleased to help him learn how to partake in the sport. Splork hasn’t reached 300 points yet, but he’s getting awfully close.
  • Claude the Lobster is the fifth Master, and he has a thick French accent. Subsequently, his levels are all themed around underwater settings. Claude found an easy friend in Ariel and King Triton, who noted he seemed very similar to Sebastian. He also has been to Paris before, which put him on good terms with Ladybug and Cat Noir,.
    • Claude’s secret dream is to grow into a giant so people won’t look down on him. This naturally concerned many in the Pantheon, but none more so than Godzilla, who is fearful that Claude does not recognize how dangerous such an act could be. As such, deities have been advised to ensure Claude cannot find a way to get bigger.
  • Number six is Renfield, a Jack-o-Lantern who is carried around by his monster valet, Eyegor. His levels are naturally based around spooky things. Renfield actually has a connection in the Pantheon- He is, in fact, the cousin of the Pumpkin belonging to the Bloom and Doom Plants. This, of course, made the other plants wary at first, but Renfield explained to them that Eyegor does not like to eat brains, and the plants quickly made sure not to fire upon Eyegor.
    • Renfield's secret dream is to become a popular painter. As such, he has often ventured to the temple of Vincent Van Gogh, and the Dutch painter has often helped him paint pictures. Van Gogh has noted that he seems to mostly make paintings that resemble other famous paintings, but other than that, he does paint quite well for someone with no hands.
  • The seventh Peggle Master is a sunflower named Tula, who is perpetually optimistic. Her levels are themed around nature. She, too, is related to the Bloom and Doom plants- Sunflower is her cousin. Naturally, seeing Tula again made Sunflower very happy, and it wasn’t long before Tula met Crazy Dave. Dave, of course, seemed pretty happy to see someone like her, and he’s also been taking up classes at the Peggle Institute.
    • Tula's secret dream is to become a world traveler. As such, she has asked Phileas Fogg to give her some tips as to how to travel around the world. Thus, Tula often travels with him in his balloon. Phileas noted that, unlike him, Tula has no bet to worry about and can travel all she wants, and Tula agrees.
  • Eighth on the list is Warren, a rabbit who takes chances and is thus focused on luck. His levels, naturally, are themed around magic shows. He often hangs around the House of Luck, and it’s there that he met Oswald. The two quickly became close friends and Oswald has taken up lessons as well.
    • Warren’s secret dream is to become a treasure hunter, in the style of Indiana Jones. As such, Warren was pleased to meet the real deal and has often tagged along with Indy on his journeys. The best part is, Warren's luck seems to help Jones out of trouble.
  • The ninth master is the dragon Lord Cinderbottom, who is quite virtuous for his race. His levels center around castles. He, of course, spends his time around the House of Dragons speaking with the various dragons there. Spyro is the one who pleases him most of all. However, he has been advised to avoid Miraak at all costs, as he is just as vulnerable to the Bend Will shout as any other dragon.
    • Cinder's secret dream is to become a firefighter and keep fires in check. Many find this to be quite bizarre, as Cinder is a dragon himself, and dragons normally do not put out fires. He replied that the power of fires is great, but they should be kept in check.
  • The last of the original ten masters is Master Hu, a wise owl. His levels, of course, focus around the concept of zen. Hu quickly gained a close friend in Wan Shi Tong, who trusts Hu enough to be nice in his library. It helps that Hu is the wisest of all the Masters.
    • Suprisingly, Hu's secret dream is to become a rockstar. As a result, he often visits the House of Musicality to participate in jam sessions with the people there. His favorites are Bill and Ted, who enjoy helping him out via the awesome rock they can perform.
  • Marina, the extra master who ascended with the group, was but a humble squid before desiring to become a Master herself, and she quickly joined the Peggle Institute. She quickly developed a close friendship with the Inklings and Octolings, pleased that the Octolings could throw aside their grudges and be friends. She often watches their matches from the Institute when not teaching a class. She also befriended fellow squid Ika Musume, and has been teaching her how to play Peggle.
