King Sparkling Wing Metamorpha, the Royal Unifier

Classification: Elemental/Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Peace, Unity, Leadership, Weather

Rank: Divine (Tier II/Lesser)

Afiliation: Church of the Stars, Metamorphan Pantheon

"There is strength in unity."

King Sparkling Wing Metamorpha (his old entry here; his new entry here) is the Alicorn god of Peace, Unity, Leadership, and Weather, and is a divine member of the Church of the Stars.

While a bit spoiled, he's a very tolerant, nice, friendly, and diplomatic individual who would rather solve conflicts peacefully than use force to do it. He is also a Martial wouldn't hesitate to defend himself and/or his allies should the need arises.

  • Break the Cutie: Sparkling Wing was rather heartbroken to learn that his mother's people were quick to reject him and his potential because they didn't like the thought of breaking matriarchal traditions by having a stallion inheriting the throne, so they pressured the Queen into having a daughter instead. His crying would later attract a disguised Luminiferous, who was understandably angry when he learned why, and chewed out the entire kingdom for ruining someone's potential because of their sex. Sparkling Wing's experiences would lead to an inner fear of failure and attempts to avoid it by goofing off, but eventually he would get better thanks to benevolent influence from his zmentors.

By Sparkling Wing’s own admission, he was immature and irresponsible as a colt, and wasn’t very good at handling stress. He was also ‘Brilliant, But Lazy’, preferring to goof off despite his talents and potential. His flamboyance and mischievousness can also make people not take him seriously. As King, he has ‘Chronic Hero Syndrome’ and will do anything to ensure his subjects’ happiness at great cost to himself.

Despite his confidence, Sparkling Wing was deeply affected by the abusive misandry he received as a colt, even internalizing the idea that he, as a male, should ‘know [his] place’. This caused complications when he first joined the Church of the Stars, as it was led by Queen Dazzleglow. It also gave him self-esteem issues, believing he would not amount to anything as a male no matter what he did. He also developed a strong ‘Guilt Complex’ where he blamed himself for both real and perceived failures, such as Rising Sun’s fall into madness and Obsidian Star’s sealing. This ultimately factored into his decision to seal himself away. Fortunately, he has been receiving therapy for his trauma.

This is described as one of his flaws, which was noted by Dazzleglow to be a trait shared by Princess Stitching Time. Sparkling Wing is very intelligent and talented, and has promise as a leader and ruler, which became more obvious after becoming an Alicorn. But he often eschews responsibility in favor of goofing off, especially if something supposedly looks too difficult for him to handle. This behavior stemmed from being publicly rejected by his subjects as heir to his mother's throne for having the "wrong" gender and fearing he would end up failing his mother's expectations, which led to him fearing the idea of failing in general. It's deconstructed in that Sparkling Wing would end up disappointing and frustrating the people who genuinely want to help and see him succeed; Golden Scepter in particular would often scold him for wasting his own potential on "parlor tricks" instead of being the royal diplomat and leader he's supposed to be. Fortunately, both Luminiferous and the Church would help him get over his fears and traumas.

As a god of Peace, Sparkling Wing has telepathic and empathic abilities that allow him to sense what is preventing people from achieving peace, whether inner peace or diplomatic peace. This makes him very hard to fool. He can project an aura of peace that calms people down, and he can magically grant them peace of mind. He is also resistant to spells that can induce madness or negative emotions. He is also empowered by how much peace there is in any given area. Unique to Sparkling Wing is a retrocognitive, empathic ability called Diplomatic Recalling that lets him discern the sources of hostility between groups.

As a god of Unity, Sparkling Wing can psychically sense what could bring people together, and forge psychic links with his allies for long-distance communication. One of his strongest abilities is to create Fusions, which gives himself and his friends more powerful forms to fight in. This makes him comparable to individuals with similar powers like Rose Regalia or Princess Gold Lily. He can also grant boons that empower people based on how united they are, and curse those who destroy unity out of wickedness.

As a god of Leadership, Sparkling Wing has supernatural knowledge of all his subordinates’ strengths, weaknesses, and their positions, and how to use them effectively. He has telepathic and empathic powers to sense and counter mistrust and bitterness, and to coordinate his forces. He also has enhanced charisma, and can magically empower his forces with ‘Rousing Speeches’ and encouraging words.

  • Deity of Human Origin: Sparkling Wing was originally a mortal Flutter Pony/Pegasus hybrid and the oldest son of a Queen.

He was originally a mortal royal pegasus before he Ascended into an Alicorn. It's noted in his entry that his Ascension made both Luminiferous and his biological family extremely proud of him.

  • Expressive Hair: It's noted that the appearance of his body changes depending on the emotion he feels, due to being part Crystal Pony — with negative emotions, he looks dull and tarnished, while positive emotions causes his body and wings to sparkle.
  • Expy: Of Jushtin Butterfly. Like Jushtin, Sparkling Wing was the

he's a royal Prince of his kingdom whose mother, the Queen, named him her heir because she believed her son was destined for greatness, only to be forced to give up his claim to the throne to his younger sister because his sex made him "unworthy" to rule. He's also a fop who dresses primarily in red, and carries a staff with him, though in Sparkling Wing's case, it's just an ordinary white staff that he uses as a defensive weapon, rather than a magical one that transforms itself based on the user's personality and/or skill. However, unlike Jushtin, Sparkling Wing was eventually able to become a god because someone kept believing in him rather than immediately dismissing him for being something people didn't agree with.

  • The Fair Folk: He's

  • Foil:
    • He is one to Golden Scepter, a fellow Alicorn.
    • He's also one to a deceased Malrègnarian god known only as "The Slothful Messenger". Both are/were young gods who were Brilliant, but Lazy, except "The Slothful Messenger" represents what could've happened if Sparkling Wing constantly refused to listen to those around him and make amends for his mistakes, instead abusing his powers to goof off and benefit himself until it is far too late for him to change.
  • Freudian Excuse: A lot of Sparkling Wing's issues

He was Brilliant, but Lazy because when he was younger, his (short) time as Queen Silver Clock's heir and Crown-Prince actually stressed him out because the thought of disappointing Silver Clock terrified him. And while he doesn't blame his mother or his sister for superseding his claim to the throne, he was rather heartbroken to learn that regardless if he wanted to rule or not, his subjects were quick to reject him as both a royal and a person because of his sex. It's deconstructed as his fear of failure and responsibility made him eschew hard work in favor of making his own life easier, which both frustrated and disappointed his mentors and friends. Fortunately, both Luminiferous and the Church of the Stars would help him grow out of this behavior.

was seen as this by his subjects and female divine relatives

  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite everything that happened to him, he was still stripped of his status as Crown Prince of his kingdom once his baby sister, Princess Rising Sun, was born, due to his kingdom being matriarchal and the throne only inherited from mother to daughter.
  • The Leader:
  • Living Legend: It's noted in his entry that after leaving his childhood kingdom to travel with Luminiferous as his students, stories and legends about him would pop up throughout the Third Age, telling of a lavender-pelted pegasus stallion who would resolve conflicts all over Equus and manipulate the skies themselves. It's what later led to Sparkling Wing meeting Queen Dazzleglow in the Fourth Age post-Ascension, having heard of said legends and was interested in his potential role in breaking "The Cycle".
  • Magnetic Hero: He's escribed as such in his entry. As a mortal teenager, he was rather infamous for having an interracial entourage, which included Griffon and Yak nobles and princes, and an elderly commoner stallion named "Whizzbag". And after he became an Alicorn, he continued down this path, attracting people to him with his words and defusing conflicts all over Equus. Justified, as he had the social skills and silver tongue required to be this trope, and is also a natural empath.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "The Royal Unifier" due to his royal background, charisma, and diplomatic skills.
  • Momma's Boy: Like his character inspiration, he was very close to his mother, Queen Silver Clock, and wants nothing but the world for her. Despite having every right to do so, he doesn't blame or resent Silver Clock for superseding his claim to the throne despite her high hopes for him, as she was only keeping up appearances for her subjects and he was disinterested in ruling at the time. Notably, when Luminiferous got angry at the kingdom ruining his potential because he was born a royal with the wrong sex, Sparkling Wing begged him to be lenient with his mother, which he did. He also kept his promise to her to write home while he was away, and when he Ascended and wrote her a letter about it, Silver Clock started crying out of proud joy.
  • Nephewism:
  • Never Accepted in His Hometown:
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Dazzleglow notes that his Brilliant, but Lazy personality was something Princess Stitching Time once had — Sparkling Wing would use his magic to goof off despite his intelligence because deep down, he was terrified of taking on responsibility that he thinks he's not ready for, and fears failing people's expectations of him, no matter how ridiculous they might be. Presumably, Stitching Time did the same thing for the same reasons until she was forced to grow out of it through proper teaching.
  • Oppose What You Suffered:
  • Our Gods Are Different:
  • Parting-Words Regret: The last time he saw his younger sister, Queen Rising Sun, alive was when he argued with her over her choice to wage war against her Griffon neighbors. Rising Sun would die a few days later in said war, leaving behind her daughter and heir, Queen Obsidian Star.
Prince Sparkling Wing: Sister, listen to me, please! You don't have to do this! We can still make peace with the Griffons, even if their leaders don't want to!
Queen Rising Sun: I have to do this, brother! I've tried advocating for peace like you did many times, and still, they won't listen! Even your acts of diplomacy didn't work on those feathered dunderheads! The only thing that will get to them is war!
Prince Sparkling Wing: This isn't right! The only thing that will come out of this is a vicious cycle of violence, death, and suffering!
Queen Rising Sun: You are a naive fool to think that all problems can be solved with mere words of placation, brother! This foolishness has gone on long enough! It's time those disgusting interlopers learn their natural place in this world, for the good of our people!
  • Physical God: As an Alicorn, he is this, despite being one of the younger members of the Church. Notably, he is skilled with weather magic, a powerful empath, and can empower mortals and forge temporary bonds that allow them to share each other's abilities based on how deep they trust each other.
  • The Power of Friendship: As the Alicorn god of Unity, he can invoke magical bonds between two or multiple people that strengthen and allow them to use each other's abilities. However, the potency of the bonds depend on how deep the recipients' trust is with each other.
  • The Prankster:
  • Purple Is Powerful: His entry describes him as a lavender-pelted Alicorn with dark purple hair that became wispy clouds after Ascension. He's a god with powerful empathy and weather-based magic, and can empower other people through their bonds, though he normally doesn't like doing more than is necessary.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: His Iconic Outfit is a red sorcerer's cloak and, like his character inspiration, Jushtin Butterfly, a a red wide-brimmed hat with feathers. This combined with his white staff makes him resemble the ancient mages, wizards, and sorcerers of past Ages.
  • Seers: Inverted; he has what he calls "Diplomatic Recalling", which is the opposite of Crystal Prism's "emotional foresight" in that it allows him to look into the past through people's emotions. A notable use of this involved helping two feuding noble Bitalian families unite by showing them the root of their ancient grudge and the potential consequences of their actions, thus saving the families' heirs, Lord Cerulean Heart and Lady Sweet Song, from running away and committing suicide together just to escape their families' hatred. Luminiferous was left rather surprised and proud with his student afterwards.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang:
  • Signature Headgear:
  • The Social Expert: He's described by his entry as having a "silver tongue", which allows him to charm people to his side, befriend people from multiple races, and defuse conflicts. Being an empath helps significantly, too.
  • Spanner in the Works:
  • Spare to the Throne: Because the kingdom he grew up in was matriarchal, he was never intended to be king, even though his mother, Silver Clock, wanted him to succeed her. When Rising Sun was born due to Silver Clock caving to pressure that she should bear a daughter, Sparkling Wing's claim of succession was automatically superseded in favor of his sister. Silver Clock deeply regretted ruining her son's potential for the sake of pleasing her subjects, and her realization that Sparkling Wing would fade into obscurity if he stayed home was what made her plead for Luminiferous to take in Sparkling Wing as his student. The rest was history.
  • Supernatural Floating Hair: His entry describes his mane and tail as ethereal, resembling wispy, dark purple clouds.
  • The Unfavorite: Subverted; even though tradition deemed him as such due to being born a royal with the "wrong" sex in a matriarchy, Silver Clock loved both him and his sister, Rising Sun, and deeply regretted ruining her son's potential for the sake of pleasing her subjects. She pleaded for Luminiferous to take Sparkling Wing in as his student, knowing that he would fade into obscurity if he stayed home. When she learned through a letter that her son became a god, she cried out of proud joy.
  • Warrior Prince: While officially not recognized as a

Despite not technically being royalty anymore, since he was superseded from his family's royal line of succession and left home to learn under Luminiferous, he still kept his title as a Prince. He's also a powerful and capable fighter and mage, but he prefers diplomatic solutions and is sickened by the thought of killing, so he mostly fights in defense/support unless warranted.

  • Weather Manipulation: As a god of Weather, Sparkling Wing can do things like create clouds for various uses, summon rain and lightning bolts, generating loud thunderclaps to disorient his foes, and maniplate heat, snow, and ice. At his strongest, he can make storms of various kinds, like hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, and hailstorms. However, he can also quell storms and make the skies clear and sunny. His domain also makes his natural wind and weather magics as a Flutter Pony/Pegasus hybrid much stronger. However, he has admitted to using his domain for pranks at times.
  • What You Are in the Dark: While he was heartbroken by his subjects' rejection of him as a royal due to being born with the "wrong" sex, he doesn't blame or resent his mother and his sister for taking away his claim of succession despite having every right to do so. Notably, he still loves them like family even though they have their disagreements.
  • Winged Unicorn: What he eventually became, after spending several years helping people and defusing conflicts all over Equus.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Perks: As part of his Brilliant, but Lazy shtick, he often used his powerful magic to goof off whenever he's faced with difficult situations. This got him scolded many times by Golden Scepter, who wants him to act like the the royal diplomat and leader he's supposed to be instead of doing mere "parlor tricks". Fortunately, the benevolent influence of Luminiferous and the Church has largely curbed this behavior.

Star Flower, the Last Flutter Pony/Queen Star Flower, the Mother of All Flutter Ponies

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Flutter Ponies, Survival, Space

Rank: Demi-Goddess

"At first I was afraid. I was petrified! Kept thinking I could never live without folks by my side. But then I spent so many nights thinking how I defied the odds. I was wrong... I learned how to get along!"

Queen Star Flower (her entries here and here) is the Flutter Pony Alicorn demigoddess of Flutter Ponies, Survival, and Space, and is a heroic individual whose status as a member of a lost species has made her a subject of renown.

Star Flower was a Second-Age Flutter Pony and "Lost One" who was lost for millennia after a trip into outer space went seriously awry, returning only tens of thousands of years later, aging little only thanks to relativistic effects of her spacecraft.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: At one point, she was cornered by a group of Tribalists who wanted to kill her as part of their plan to drive the Flutter Ponies to extinction. However, her refusal to back down and protect both Pink Carnation and her parents ends up triggering her Ascension to demi-godhood, giving her the strength to overpower her would-be killers and beat them all up singlehandedly. It turns out the reason why her Ascension was possible in the first place is because Blackrose/Rosedust hid a piece of her own Primordian Quintessence in the royal Flutter Pony crown she gave to Star Flower in a prior meeting.
  • All Just a Dream:
  • All Your Powers Combined: As a Flutter Pony Alicorn, she has access to the combined magics of all Pony tribes.
  • Anti-Magic: Her Flutter Pony magic cancels out against dark magic, especially corrupting or evil magic, and is extremely effective against such things. Notably, one big reason why Hydianite covens are trying to have her killed is because her racial magic would allow her to specifically affect the dreaded Purple Smooze from the First Age, which modern-day Hydianites are trying to recreate.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's now a Flutter Pony Alicorn demigoddess who embodies Flutter Ponies, Survival, and Space.
  • Ascended Fanboy: She spent much of her life looking up to the stars, and after the Flutter Ponies were united with the other Pony tribes, she joined Ponyland's space program as an astronaut, traveling to the moon and other planets in the Equusian solar system. She ends up being stranded in space for what outsiders perceive as tens of thousands of years thanks to Time Dilation and an experimental relativistic speed engine reacting to various magical anomalies (though she does help free a species of "space manta rays" from their leader, a xenophobic tyrant). After going back to Equus/Tellus in the Fourth Age, her experiences in space would later influence her portfolio when she Ascends to demi-godhood, giving her the domain of Space.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: Her Cutie Mark depicts a blue, star-shaped flower, which is fitting considering she was a Second Age astronaut who ended up stranded in time before coming back to her world in the Fourth Age, then later Ascended to demi-godhood as the Alicorn demigoddess of Space.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: Empress Blackrose, formerly one of the Flutter Pony Queens to hold the name of Rosedust, gives her the lost crown of the Flutter Ponies, declaring that when the race is restored, she is now their Queen. This later becomes literal once she Ascends to godhood while defending herself from various Autorists and Tribalists who sought to make the Flutter Ponies truly extinct out of Fantastic Racism. As it turned out, Blackrose/Rosedust was clever enough to hide a spark of her own Primordial Quintessence inside the crown, allowing the Ascension to happen in the first place.
  • Blue Is Heroic: She has a dark blue mane and tail, and her Cutie Mark is a blue, star-shaped flower. She's also a heroic Flutter Pony astronaut who liberated the Mobuli race from a xenophobic, fascist regime, literally birthed the Flutter Ponies back into existence after they were transformed into the Changelings, and later became an Alicorn demigoddess by resolving to protect her race (including her daughter, Pink Carnation) from Pony bigots seeking to drive the Flutter Ponies into extinction.
  • Catapult Nightmare: As part of her PTSD, she occasionally wakes up screaming from nightmares where she never returned to Equus at all and instead was still floating in space, having dreamed everything up inside her pod. Thankfully, she is receiving therapy for this.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: At one point, the Emperor of the Mobuli captured her and poisoned her to torture her for information, worsened by the fact that as an "Alpha" (a royal subtype of Mobuli), he can change the potency of his poison and made his more agonizing to make her likely to spill. Thankfully, she was freed, but she was bedridden for several weeks afterward and later stated the short time she spent being tortured was one of the most physically painful things she ever experienced.
  • Cool Crown: Following her return from outer space in the Fourth Age, she is given the Flutter Pony crown by Empress Blackrose, who claims to have known the legendary Queen Rosedust and wanted her to be Rosedust's successor. It turns out Blackrose is Rosedust and wants her to bring back the extinct Flutter Pony race, though which Rosedust she is is unknown. She has agreed to wear it, but refuses to wear other regalia other than her crown.
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After being launched into deep space, having to defeat an interplanetary empire, fix her ship, find her way back to Equus, and dealing with being the last of her kind, she ultimately gets her happy ending when crowned the new Queen, and Mother Demi-Goddess, of the Flutter Ponies and living peacefully with her recovering species in New Flutter Valley.
  • Emerald Power: She has green fur, and despite being stranded in space for what appeared to be tens of thousands of years to outsiders, she managed to adapt to her environment, free an alien race from a fascist intergalactic regime, and eventually survive her return trip to Equus. Later on, with a piece of divine essence Blackrose placed in the Flutter Pony crown, she ends up Ascending to demi-godhood as the Alicorn demigoddess of Flutter Ponies, Survival, and Space while fighting a group of Tribalists out of sheer desire to not let the Flutter Ponies die off for real.
  • Ethnic God: As an Alicorn, she embodies all mortal Pony tribes and has their combined magics. She also specifically embodies Flutter Ponies and thus has enhanced versions of their magic, including the "Utter Flutter" ability that killed the Hydianite-created Smooze in the First Age.
  • Fantastic Racism: Both Autorists and Tribalists have constantly been trying to kill her because they see both her and the Flutter Ponies as an affront to Ponykind's racial "purity". As a result, she is put under vigilant protection under numerous benevolent (and villainous) factions, including the Terran Empire, with all attempts to kill her being met with swift, harsh retaliation. Once Pink Carnation is born, their efforts doubled. Fortunately, given her skills and experience as an astronaut, interplanetary rebel, and space pirate, she's very capable in defending herself, as a group of tribalists learned. In fact, what led to her Ascending to demi-godhood was her desire to keep the Flutter Ponies from truly dying out.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water:
  • Freak Out: Doctor Stable notes that she "screamed for a full ten minutes" during her stay in the Ponyville Hospital after learning that she is now the last living Flutter Pony.
  • Gravity Master: As a demigoddess of Space, she can create gravity wells.
  • Gone Horribly Right: The drive her ship used was supposed to allow for interstellar travel with some amount of Time Dilation involved. What actually happened, however, was the drive worked far better than expected. Too well in fact, to the point that she ended up in an alien star system far sooner than she should have... from her perspective, as this caused the Time Dilation effect to be exaggerated and tens of thousand of years had passed for the outside universe.
  • Healing Factor:
  • Heavenly Blue: She has a dark blue mane and tail. After coming back to Equus/Tellus in the Fourth Age and learning she's the last living Flutter Pony due to all of them having evolved into the Changeling race, she ends up bonding with Golden Scepter, an ancient Alicorn god who himself experienced similarly massive losses upon waking up in a different time. Since then, she would receive protection from various deities who are interested in helping revive the Flutter Pony tribe, with even the likes of Temnobog and his mortal cultists delivering horrific retribution on the Hydianite covens that tried to harm her. Later, she would Ascend to demi-godhood by fending off a group of Tribalists who tried to kill her and Pink Carnation, becoming the Alicorn demigoddess of Flutter Ponies, Survival, and Space.
  • Heroic BSoD: She experienced a particularly tear-jerking one when she finally returned home to Equus to find that not only three Ages worth of time (some tens of thousands of years) had passed over her trip, but also she is, quite literally, the last of her kind, her Tribe the Flutter Ponies having gone extinct in the intervening time period.
Doctor Stable: Miss Star Flower screamed for a full ten minutes before we figured out the best way to sedate her.
  • Interspecies Friendship:
  • Karmic Jackpot: Her efforts in freeing both the Mobuli and the galaxy she ended up in from a xenophobic, fascist regime would later see her being given the Flutter Pony crown by Empress Blackrose, who crowns her Queen of the (then-extinct) Flutter Ponies and wants her to bring the lost Pony tribe back. In the late Fourth Age, after space exploration becomes available, she discovers that not only the Mobuli started worshping her as a goddess in gratitude for her actions, but also built a statue in tribute to her and her friend Nebula, who had Ascended to godhood since her departure.
Queen Star Flower Rosedust: Wow... they still remembered me, even after all this time...
Emperor Auriolus Scaeptrum Terra: Considering all that you've done to bring down a xenophobic tyrant, I wouldn't expect anything less from them.
  • Last of Her Kind: Due to Time Dilation, she ended up returning to Equus tens of thousands of years later to find the Flutter Ponies have gone extinct, making her the last one left. She did not take this well at all. Thankfully, both therapy and Golden Scepter had been helping her recover emotionally and mentally from her losses, while Amicitia and others are trying to repopulate the Flutter Pony tribe by having surrogates sire her offspring, as Star Flower has slowed aging and is still fertile despite pushing forty. This is later averted once people, with divine backing, successfully found a way to revive the Flutter Ponies using her still-fertile eggs, leading to the birth of Pink Carnation and many others. By the time she Ascends to demi-godhood and the "War Against Order" starts, the Flutter Ponies number approximately to 30 adults and an undisclosed number of foals.
  • Legacy Character: Defied. Despite considering renaming herself "Rosedust" as was tradition for all Flutter Pony Queens, she ultimately decides against it after being convinced by Empress Blackrose, who reasons that with the rebirth of the Flutter Ponies, she's essentially the founder of a new royal dynasty. Instead, she makes "Rosedust" her last name.
  • Long-Lived:
  • The Magnificent:
    • Known as "the Last Flutter Pony" due to being the last member of her aforementioned race by the time she arrived in Equus during the Fourth Age. Fortunately for her, people like Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle and Golden Scepter are invested in making this temporary by restoring the Flutter Pony tribe.
    • After Ascending to demi-godhood and helping restore the Flutter Pony tribe in the Fourth Age, she adopted a new title, "the Mother of All Flutter Ponies", to display her new status as a royal matriarch and mother goddess of the Flutter Ponies.
  • Malicious Misnaming: She calls the previous Emperor of the Mobuli "the big jerk", owing to him being a fascistic, warmongering, and xenophobic tyrant before he was killed by his benevolent successor, Nebula. In relation, she had taken to calling the fascistic Mobuli Emperor's supports "D.I.M-wits", owing to said Emperor's regime being called the Dominion of Imperial Majesty, which led to her abbreviating the name to D.I.M.
Star Flower: (battling Mobuli imperial forces) Take that you dust-sprinkled D.I.M.-WITS!
  • Mama Bear:
  • Meaningful Name:
  • Meaningful Rename: Averted. She was originally supposed to rename herself "Rosedust" after becoming Queen of the new Flutter Ponies, as dictated by tradition for previous Flutter Pony Queens. However, Empress Blackrose lets her keep her name on the reasoning that with the rebirth of the Flutter Ponies, she'll be the progenitor of a new royal dynasty.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: As an Alicorn, she has all of their chimeric traits and can manifest any of them (along with their accompanying powers) at will.
  • Modest Royalty: Downplayed; while she wears the royal Flutter Pony crown, she refuses to wear other regalia outside of it. It's noted that past Flutter Pony Queens had made the same choice as she did due to their affinity for nature.
  • The Needless: As a demigoddess of Space, she no longer needs to breathe in space and is made resistant to its environmental effects.
  • Nerves of Steel:
  • "Not So Different" Remark:
  • Our Gods Are Different:
  • Pals with Jesus: Pre-Ascension, of the three Alicorns she met upon crash-landing on Equus in the Fourth Age, she became the closest to Emperor Golden Scepter. A huge reason behind their friendship is their shared experiences in losing so much in the time they were dormant/stranded elsewhere, and then coming back to find everything they knew was gone. Golden Scepter's support would in part help her overcome her PTSD over being the sole-surviving Flutter Pony at the time, and their connections would grant her backing and protection from the Terran Empire.
  • Personality Powers: Her domain of Flutter Ponies refers to how she, as a surviving Flutter Pony, represented international hope that the Flutter Pony tribe can be rescued from total extinction. Her domains of Survival and Space refers to her adventures/experiences in space and how she ultimately managed to adapt to it, despite the dangers she faced at the time.
  • Physical God:
  • Pretty Butterflies:
  • Semi-Divine:
  • A Shared Suffering: She bonded with Golden Scepter over the fact that they both had lost so many people in their lives over a long period of time while only they survived for some reason (Golden Scepter's Imperium of Ponykind collapsed while he was in stasis and only learned of it after waking up, while Star Flower became the last living Flutter Pony due to temporal displacement while in space). While she did receive lots of therapy in the meantime, it was Golden Scepter who largely helped with her trauma over her experiences of isolation in space and outliving her own people.
Emperor Golden Scepter: (to Star Flower) You've survived for all this time, you've done your tribe proud... Do you really want their last ember to die as a whimper?
  • Space Master: As a demigoddess of Space, she can manipulate space in various ways, such as warping space to teleport, creating gravity wells, and distorting space for defensive means. Her domain also makes her perfectly adaptable to space, meaning she no longer needs to breathe in space and is resistant to the downsides of being in space.
  • Survivor Guilt:
  • Tears of Joy: She cried upon seeing several Second-Age Alicorns Princess Stitching Time invited over showing off their Flutter Pony Wings just to assure her that Alicorns represented the Flutter Ponies as well.
  • Thrill Seeker: Her first entry notes that she is a constant thrill-seeker. This led to her befriending Patch and her family, and her being one of the first Flutter Ponies to move to the outside world following Queen Starcatcher's unification of all Pony tribes. It also factored into her decision to become an astronaut, and her fateful decision to travel through space to test an experimental relativistic speed engine.
  • Winged Unicorn:
  • Wowing Cthulhu: She impressed the dreaded King Brachion of the Changeling Summer Court with her feats of survival out in space — so much that Brachion genuinely offered to help her revive the Flutter Pony tribe using her genetic samples (though part of it was to help the Summer Court improve relationships between the Changeling Spring Court and the Principalities of Equestria). Many are concerned of what Brachion might do to make the new Flutter Ponies "better" survivors, however, and thus his offer is still pending international approval.
  • You Are Not Alone: Princess Stitching Time assures her that she is not entirely alone, and proves it by inviting all the Second-Age Alicorns, including Shamrock, Tough Love, and Blue Suede Heartstrings, to visit Star Flower and show off their Flutter Pony traits to show their support. This caused Star Flower to cry Tears of Joy as she hugged everyone.
    Princess Stitching Time: Star Flower?
Star Flower: Yes, Stitching? (sees other Alicorns approaching them) Wait... what?
Princess Stitching Time: You're not alone, at least not entirely. We all understand, and we're all here for you.

    Nittunak Moufette, the Honest Growth

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Growth, Honesty, Mistakes, Karma

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

Affiliation: Great Skunk Pantheon, Equestrian Pantheon

"You cannot grow meaningfully if you are not honest with yourself and others."

Nittunak Moufette (his old entry here; his new entry here) is the Fae Skunk god of Growth, Honesty, Mistakes, and Karma, serving as a "wake-up call" to make people acknowledge their mistakes and grow.
  • Abstract Apotheosis:
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Fae Skunk god who embodies Growth, Honesty, Mistakes, and Karma.
  • Berserk Button:
    • He believes respect should be genuinely earned, and thus is angered whenever people demand respect from others that they themselves hadn't earned by their own merit. This especially applies to leaders and authority figures who either misused their positions or failed to live up to their subjects' expectations in some other way. Such people will be relentlessly tormented and badly skunked by him until they understand his lesson.
    • He utterly despises moral hypocrisy, as he believes that actually doing something is more meaningful than just saying they'll do it. This means he hates those who are "good" but do nothing to help, as it just makes them an Accomplice by Inaction. During the 'Canterlot Purge', he badly skunked a Equestrian noblemare who failed to earn his respect by refusing to act on her moral compass and oppose her genuinely corrupt peers. However, he also hates who bully others for their flaws while ignoring their own shortcomings, which is just as bad.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: He's a Fae Skunk god, and thus while genuinely benevolent, he perceives things quite differently from non-Fae, even fellow deities. His most prominent trait is his Cruel to Be Kind mindset, where his idea of helping others is to spray them unconscious with his horrific-smelling musk and call them out for their shortcomings; while he genuinely can't understand why this might be seen as too harsh, he started understanding the issue and has been directing those he skunked to people who can help them out in kinder ways. He also wasn't too bothered over being the last of his race in part due to his alien mindset, though he also believes his people deserved it for being cruel to others.
  • Brutal Honesty: Due to his Blue-and-Orange Morality as a Fae Skunk, he can come off as very blunt, and neither minces words nor softens his tone when he has no reason to do so, like condemning someone he neither respects and deserves it.
  • Calling the Old Man Out:
  • Calling the Young Man Out:
  • Caring Gardener:
  • Close to Home:
  • Cruel to Be Kind: He's prone to spraying people unconscious who demand respect they didn't earn or leaders who don't command respect from their followers and dress them down every time he meets them until they step down and let better leaders take over or learn their lesson. However, he has the best intentions, as it's pointed out that as incredibly unpleasant as this is, he's right and most of these people need a harsh lesson to learn. It's also pointed out that by Fae standards, this is actually tame. It's noted that certain individuals he skunked, like Blue Suede Heartstrings, Healing Song, and Celestia, likely never would have gotten out of their toxic mindsets if he hadn't given them this treatment.
  • Deadly Gas: His spray was originally lethal, but Moufette nerfed it on his request when he was spared because he was limited in using his spray and hated the thought of killing others.
  • Deity of Human Origin:
  • Entitled Bastard: Subverted. Despite being a god of Respect, he believes that respect should be earned and hates those who demand it from others yet do not deserve it. His response to those who act this way is to skunk them on sight until they humble themselves.
  • Et Tu, Brute?:
  • The Fair Folk: He's the last of Moufette's first attempt at making a fae skunk species. As such, his morality, while benevolent, has some strangeness to it.
  • Freudian Excuse:
  • Gone Horribly Right: Nittunak's people were created by Moufette partly as an intermediary that would allow mortal Skunkkind to better interact with other Fae races. Unfortunately, Moufette's lack of understanding of Fae nature/magic resulted in an entire race becoming extremely cruel and violent Unseelie Fae, forcing Moufette to purge his creations by stripping them of their power and immortality and letting them all die of old age. Nittunak was the only survivor of this purge, and the only one of his race who turned out benevolent as Moufette had intended.
  • Good Is Not Nice:
  • Good Is Not Soft:
  • Happily Adopted:
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Nittunak hates people who fail to earn his respect and frequently leaves them stinking to high heaven with his foul musk. However, this has been pointed out to be necessary, as sometimes people need a big Wake-Up Call like that to force them to acknowledge their own flaws directly and overcome them. However, it's ultimately deconstructed — while well-meaning, Nittunak has a Blue-and-Orange Morality due to being a Fae Skunk god, so his standards of what makes a good leader or person are very skewed and often too harsh for people too tolerate. And while he has since acknowledged he had been harsh, Nittunak is fundamentally unable to understand why due to his mindset, so he directs the people he skunked to those who can understand and help them on a level that he can't. As Belladonna Heartstrings points out, being flawed doesn't necessarily make someone a bad guy, it just makes them human, and even the gods themselves — including the likes of King Equus or Nittunak himself — are not perfect.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's a Fae Skunk god with a genuinely alien mindset, and believes the only way to make people improve themselves is to spray them unconscious with his horrible-smelling musk and chew them out for their shortcomings. However, he also genuinely means well and despises those who either abuse their positions, demand respect that they haven't earned, and/or mistreat others for being flawed while ignoring their own flaws. This is exemplified with Blue Suede Heartstrings, whom he skunked unconscious for being a massive Hypocrite yet encouraged him to be better, and protected Blue Suede from self-righteous deities who mistreated him for being flawed.
  • Lack of Empathy: Played with. He is capable of feeling empathy and sympathizing with others, but what he can't feel is regret. As a Fae Skunk, he has difficulty comprehending why people would feel regret over their own mistakes, as he merely sees mistakes as things to avoid in the future. This often led to him relying on others to help him understand the concept of regret so he can grasp the situation better and adjust his What the Hell, Hero? speeches accordingly, as shown with Blue Suede Heartstrings.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
  • Last of His Kind: He's the last of Moufette's first attempt to create a Fae Skunk race. He isn't particularly bothered by this, though, which is both due to his own alien mindset and his belief that his race deserved it for their cruelty.
  • Meaningful Name: Nittunak translates to "respect" in Inuit. He's a god of Respect whose domain essentially allows him to sense if the people he seeks are genuinely worthy of his respect (and skunk them if they don't).
  • Modest Royalty:
  • My God, What Have I Done?:
  • Nature Lover:
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished:
  • The Purge: He was the Sole Survivor of one from his race's creator Moufette by virtue of being the Token Good Teammate among them, and helped with the Great Purge against nobles, businessmanes, politicians, the military and other corrupt elements of Equestria in the Fourth Age by invitation from ex-Princess Luna, the Nightbringer.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech:
  • Smelly Skunk: One of the first Fae Skunks and the Last of His Kind on account of being a Token Good Teammate who was spared The Purge. He is far from hesitant to skunk someone he feels needs taught a lesson in respect. As a Fae Skunk, his musk was far more horrid than a normal Great Skunk to begin with, and now as an ancient Skunk God, his spray is incapacitate a dragon and he's even KO'd other deities with it.
  • Token Good Teammate: The only member of his original first Fae Skunk race who didn't turn evil and used his Fae powers for good. As a result, he would not only survive Moufette's purging of his people, but also achieve godhood.
  • Took a Level in Kindness:
  • The Un-Favourite:
  • Was Too Hard on Him: Played With: due to Blue-and-Orange Morality, Nittunak is fundamentally incapable of understanding why nonfae might consider him too harsh from time to time, but he's began to understand they do and that there's clearly something he doesn't and cannot get. As such, while he'll still skunk them badly, he's taken to directing people to those capable of handling the softer side of things if he can tell they need it.
  • What the Hell, Hero?:
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are:

    King Kamili, the Unified King

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Compassion, Ambition, Wisdom

Rank: Demigod

King Kamili (his entry here) is the Zebralicorn demigod of Compassion, Ambition, and Wisdom, and presently the demi-divine ruler of his namesake place, the Kamili Empire.

Sacred Peace Goldstar, the Hoof of Destruction

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Space, Destruction, Suffering, Endings

Rank: Divine (Tier IV/Greater)

Affiliation: Shinseina Pantheon, Goldstar Family, Warriors of Mareioh, Grand Primevals (Naqaru)

"Sometimes things just gotta stop, y'know?"

Sacred Peace Goldstar (his entry here) is the Alicorn god of Space, Destruction, Suffering, and Endings, and is the husband of Gosuke Goldstar.

Personality-wise, before befriending Gosuke, Sacred appeared aloof and solitary, but was actually very shy due to poor social skills. Years of abuse from his father and brother made him submissive, and he didn’t know right from wrong. Presently, Sacred is more cheerful, friendly, and better at socializing, if still reserved at times. He is a kind stallion who desires to alleviate people’s suffering, sympathizing greatly with abuse victims and disabled creatures. A huge reason why he went into architecture is his desire to make disabled creatures’ lives easier. As a god of Destruction, he believes part of destroying things involves letting them go, including toxic mindsets. This in turn made him very forgiving.

  • Took a Level in Badass: Sacred Peace gained The Hand at a young age when he was accidentally pricked by Blessed Wealth's Stand Arrow, but like in canon, he was initially very inexperienced with it. Becoming Speedwagon's ward increased his skill dramatically, and while he was later kidnapped and blinded by Vanilla Ice, Sacred Peace taught himself spatial perception through sheer resolve, allowing him to counter and fight Vanilla Ice on equal footing. Then he dies and is revived by the Grand Primevals as an Alicorn demigod, coming to embody Space

but he wasn't very experienced with it, contributing to his defeat at Gosuke's hooves. However, his skill drastically increases when he becomes Speedwagon's ward, allowing him to learn how to use The Hand more efficiently. Later, after he is blinded by Vanilla Ice, Sacred Peace teaches himself how to use spatial perception through sheer force of will, allowing him to counter Vanilla Ice's Stand, Cream, and ultimately kill the Vampire. All this culminates in Sacred Peace's Ascension first to demi-godhood, then true godhood

  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: The PTSD Sacred Peace gained at the hooves of his abusive father and older brother caused him to forget that Blessed Wealth made him promise to keep their vampirized father's existence a secret. Fighting Shining Rock and killing his vampirized father caused Sacred Peace to remember again, leading to him breaking down and developing a huge Guilt Complex

Click here to see him as Page Wheel.

"Sometimes, the more you change, the more you stay the same."

Crystal Prism, born Page Wheel (his old entry entry here; his new entry here), is the Alicorn demigod of Rebirth, Butterflies, Transformation, Spirit, and Change, and is a young member of the Coltic Pantheon.

Power-wise, as a Unicorn, Crystal Prism can manipulate magic itself, though being a young colt meant he only knew basic telekinesis. Learning under Luminiferous and others allowed him to cast more spells. Post-Ascension, he gained the combined magics of all Pony tribes, including Flutter Ponies, which gave him wind magics and the Utter Flutter ability, which can purify foul magic. He also has superior maneuverability in flight, despite lacking the Pegasi’s speed.

  • Back from the Dead:
    • This happened in Crystal Prism's backstory — after he was killed by both Luminiferous and the Equestrian Alicorn Princesses while in his corrupted form, the magic Crystal Prism devoured reacted by encasing and incubating him in a magical cocoon. A few days later, he came out of it alive and an Alicorn demigod, yet incredibly traumatized by what he went through.
    • Post-Ascension, Crystal Prism

gained the ability to do this to those who died via "cocoon-healing". However, he can only do it if they've just recently died, as reviving someone who had been long dead would not only possibly rob them of the good afterlife they deserved, but would also anger the Death deities as well.

As a demigod of Spirit, Crystal Prism can see and interact with spiritual entities, including souls of the dead. He can travel to spirit worlds, including afterlife-realms, and use spiritual energy in the form of beams, barriers, and other things. One of his strongest powers is his ability to manipulate spiritual light; while it functions similarly to normal light magic, his spiritual light can affect souls, including spiritual Undead like Wraiths, and curing spiritual ailments and corruption. He also has spiritual versions of psychic abilities like empathy and telepathy, as well as emotional foresight where he can predict the futures of those he is attached to, as shown with Button Mash.

  • Beware the Nice Ones:
  • Big Brother Instinct: Despite being far younger than Ruby Heart chronologically, he has become somewhat of a surrogate older brother figure for her. In one incident, when Poena tried getting Ruby to agree with her views on Justice, Crystal went into Tranquil Fury and angrily yet calmly warned her of the consequences that would ensue if the divine Tulpa tried forcing Ruby to side with her.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After CreepEntity513 was killed by Button Mash and its victims freed, its video-game realm started falling apart, causing Button Mash to realize that it made the realm tied to its power just to have one last laugh. Cue Crystal Prism galloping in with the divine help of a "few friends", and leading everyone to safety in the real world.
  • Blinded by the Light: With his light magic, he can do this with various methods, such as creating magical flash-bangs, manipulating reflective surfaces in an area to make it look brighter than it is, and channeling his light magic through his body, intimidating his enemies into lowering their guard whenever they try fighting him in close quarters due to being so bright.
  • Blue Is Heroic: As a mortal unicorn colt, he was described as having a pale-blue pelt with white spots. Post-Ascension, he gained a blue-black pelt with white markings and bright areas on his legs, muzzle, and underbelly. He's also a heroic and benevolent, if psychologically broken individual who is still recovering from the traumas he endured.
  • Body Horror: Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker's experiments transformed and mutated him into a blob monster that devoured all magic it could sense, including those held by sapient creatures like Ponies (which led to Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker becoming his first victims). He did manage to Ascend to demi-godhood after he was killed, but it's noted he was heavily traumatized by the experience.
  • Child Prodigy: Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker falsely believed he was this after Midnight Bell lied about him out of stress and to save her own skin. This led to Page Wheel being kidnapped, transformed into a monster, and ultimately Ascended into Crystal Prism.
  • Children Are Special: It's believed that Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker often experimented on young foals because they had a greater capacity for potential and magic than adults did, which gave them the perfect excuse to try mass-produce Alicorns for the greater good. Page Wheel/Crystal Prism was kidnapped for this reason because they believed Midnight Bell's lies about him being the "real" child prodigy.
  • The Chosen One: Crystal Prism was

While talking to Celestia after her ordeal with Tyrantlestia, he brings up how his "creators", Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, intended to have him be "the herald of a New Age or something" after he paid them a visit in prison. It's ultimately played with; while Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker intended to create an Alicorn that embodied Rebirth and Change, it's implied that the holder of the role could've been anyone. As Page Wheel, him ending up in a magical cocoon after spending a short time of his life as a magic-eating monster was proof to them that he had the potential and power to become an Alicorn. Fortunately for Page Wheel, Scarlet Bell and Midnight Bell intervened before Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker could do anything about it, and after he Ascended, several benevolent individuals like Golden Scepter would encourage him to forge his own path instead. Unfortunately, the success of his Ascension has gotten the wider Alicorn Ascendancy's attention, which resulted in the organization becoming active and daring in retrieving "the success" despite its general secrecy, which in turn caused the world at large to direct attention upon them and focus efforts on stopping them.

during the "Temptation Unbound" event is because his domain of Rebirth is quite similar to Katastrofa's domain of Creation.

  • Cool Big Sis: Gender-inverted and implied. Despite the sheer gap in chronological age, it's mentioned that Crystal has somewhat become a surrogate older brother figure for the ghostly Ruby Heart. He is wiling to protect her even from divine entities like Poena.
  • Creating Life Is Bad: Crystal Prism's backstory involved him being used as a test subject in an attempt by two disgraced teachers, Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, to create Alicorns for the greater good of Equus. It's played with though, as while both the circumstances that led to his Ascension and the intentions behind them were bad, Temnobog sees Crystal Prism's very existence as a "positive" one, born from the great evil and hubris of mortals trying to play god. In Temnobog's words, if Crystal Prism hadn't been "born", Equus would've been a little worse off without a hero.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His mother had become gravely ill at some point, causing him to secretly wish that he was a stallion so he would take better care of her. Then after Midnight Bell lied about him, he was kidnapped and experimented on by two disgraced teachers and wanted criminals, Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, which first turned him into a magic-eating monster, then went through a traumatic Ascension after both Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses were forced to kill him, unaware that they were attacking a transformed colt until it was too late. His PTSD was so bad that it took him a long time as well as lots of therapy sessions with Mentálne to stave off the worst parts of it.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He's an Ascendant deity who was transformed at a young age, though in an unorthodox manner rather than Ascending naturally. His "creators", Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, wanted to invoke this by mass-producing Alicorns for the greater good of Equus, so they kidnapped him and made him one of their test subjects, but this backfired in a horrible way. Only after he was killed by Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses did he revive himself and Ascend. The fact that he successfully Ascended while most test subjects failed has caused the Alicorn Ascendancy to gain interest in him and devote their efforts in retrieving him, so they could perform more experiments to learn how he managed to do it.
  • Distressed Dude:
  • Divine Parentage:
    • It's rumored In-Universe that he's related to Canteros, the oldest son and child of Amareros, the Love Primeval, due to both of them being Alicorns (whenever Canteros appears as one, anyway) with butterfly motifs.
    • It's later revealed that he's a Fourth Age descendant of Prince Crystal Clear, the Alicorn god of Sound, Technology, and Stage Crews, through one of his lovers. This means that he is also a descendant of Crystal's father, Blue Suede Heartstrings (now King Caerulus Melodia Equestria-Corporatum), via adoption.
  • The Empath: While he doesn't have the reading abilities of traditional empaths, Crystal Prism can technically still be considered one. Namely, his foresight only works if he displays strong emotions/sentiments towards someone before going to bed.
    • Crystal was able to get Midnight Bell some psychiatric help because he foresaw her falling into a depression over guilt. This is how she ended up with Mentálne, who helped her recover from her PTSD.
    • Shortly before the CreepEntity513 incident, Crystal befriended Button Mash during a visit in Ponyville and was introduced to video games, even receiving a game as a gift. His strong emotions towards Button Mash gave him a troubling vision in which CreepEntity513 was attacking Button Mash and dragging the colt into its video-game dimension, and told Luminiferous about it. This resulted in Button receiving a trinket that would allow Luminiferous to lend him his future potential in the game world, ultimately leading to CreepEntity513's defeat.
  • Entitled Bastard: Due to their collective Lack of Empathy and selfishness, the unicorn trio Decepticolt, Zappityhoof, and Goldencap assumed he was being entitled and keeping the secrets of the Ascension process to himself, due to being a young Alicorn. This enraged Crystal, who actually endured cruel experimentation and being killed as a monster before he Ascended, and thus was understandably angry that the unicorn trio only cared about the power he held rather than the trauma he suffered to get where he was.
  • Expy: Crystal Prism/Page Wheel is described as being inspired by Peter, the deuteragonist of Mary and The Witch's Flower. Like Peter, Page Wheel was a delivery boy who teased Midnight Bell (who was inspired by Mary) for being clumsy, which initially created an antagonistic relationship between them. He would also be kidnapped and experimented on by well-intentioned but unscrupulous people in their attempt to create godlike beings, only for him to turn into a magic-eating blob, which is what happened to Peter towards the end of the movie.
  • Family Theme Naming: Before his name change, he and his mother followed the "___ Wheel" formula, with his name being Page Wheel.
  • Forced Transformation: Being subjected to horrible experiments in an attempt to mass-produce gods caused him to devolve into (in Luminiferous's words) a "dangerous, blue, blob-looking monster thingy that absorbs any type of magic it came across" which is what happened to Peter in Mary and The Witch's Flower. After Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses succeeded in killing him to stop his rampage, the magic leftover incubated Page Wheel's body in a magical cocoon before opening to reveal a butterfly-like Alicorn several days later.
  • Forgiveness:
    • Much to Mentálne and Queen Dazzleglow's great delight, he eventually forgave Midnight Bell for her actions that led to his trauma, while in turn apologizing for previously teasing Midnight for her clumsiness. It shows how far he's come in recovering from his PTSD.
    • However, it's subverted with Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, who he still hasn't forgiven yet. He even goes into terrible rages whenever he sees someone forcing change on others like they've done with him. It's understandable given his experiences, though he's working on it.
  • Friend to All Children: While he tries to help those who are dealing with stressful and traumatic changes, he feels closer to children, whose fragile mental states often leave them overwhelmed in the face of change. His initial Trauma Button involves them, as he gets angry whenever he sees someone trying to force change on a child just like how he was before, though he's getting better at handling his anger and recovering from his issues thanks to Mentálne.
  • From Zero to Hero: He was once a mortal unicorn colt named Page Wheel, but after Midnight Bell lied about him, he was kidnapped by Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, who proceeded to experiment on him to replicate the Alicorns' Ascension process. While the experiments did corrupt Page Wheel and turned him into a magic-eating monster, it wasn't until after he was defeated and killed by Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses that he became the Alicorn he is now, having been revived by the very magic he devoured. Nowadays he helps promote Change and Rebirth, as he embodies it, by helping people and even befriending "evil" deities like Katastrofa, instead of heralding a "new age" like Noble Grace intended thanks to benevolent individuals encouraging him to forge a new path for himself.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: He finds it baffling that Evil as a concept would have a constructive purpose in Equus, even wishing there were better motivators to make people do good things, though he does come to an understanding during a talk with Temnobog, the Bogolenya Deer god of Evil.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Is normally a very empathetic Alicorn who is good with children. But he has periods of "terrifying" rage whenever he encounters those who try to force change through nefarious means. He's getting better at handling his anger, though, thanks to Mentálne and Yarost.
  • Good Wings, Evil Wings: After dying and Ascending upon revival, he would gain hybrid pegasus-butterfly wings, as shown in his folder image. While his unique wings represent his heroic character, they also represent his domains of Rebirth, Change, and Transformation - appropriately, he Ascended into Alicornhood by dying, and helps people deal with stressful changes and improve themselves.
  • Guilt Complex: His entry notes that he would develop one post-Ascension, believing that his own wishes to become a stallion led to his undoing and caused so much pain and destruction for everything else, even though his transformation and stint as a monster was entirely out of his control. Fortunately, Mentálne has been working with him in overcoming this.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: He has radiant gold hair. Even as a mortal unicorn colt, he still had blond hair, though it was a dirty yellow color. He's also a heroic Alicorn demigod, albeit still recovering from the severe trauma he went through. His blond hair color is later revealed to be something that he inherited from his divine ancestor, Prince Crystal Clear.
  • Harmful to Minors:
    • He was kidnapped by two disgraced teachers, Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, and experimented on in their attempt to mass-produce Alicorns for the greater good. Unfortunately, he ended up turning into a magic-eating monster, causing him to go on a rampage across the Grittish Isles. Then, he was "purged" by Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses to stop him from rampaging across Equus, though they didn't know who or what he was until it was too late to do anything else. What saved him was his magic reviving/Ascending him by incubating his body in a magical cocoon. The incident gave him nightmares where he was still killed but didn't come back to life like he did.
    • He also opposes those who engage in this trope by forcing change on others, especially young children, for nefarious means, to the point where he has "terrifying" periods of fury (though he's getting better at handling his anger).
  • Healing Hands: He has an ability called "cocoon healing", in which he encases the wounded in magical cocoons that heals injuries and eliminates most curses. How long it takes depends on the severity of their condition, with reviving the dead taking several days or longer.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: He can use his magical cocoons to cure mundane forms of curses and dark magic. When he learned that the Alicorn godling, Prince Léon, has similar purification abilities, Crystal noted that they're somewhat not so different.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Implied, as his profile described him as this. When he laughed at Midnight Bell's clumsiness, it soured Midnight Bell's perception of him, and indirectly led to a lot of trauma in short order. After everything, though, he apologized to Midnight Bell for teasing her after she apologized for ruining his life, allowing them to reconcile and become friends.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: His Odd Friendship with Katastrofa, Ispita's youngest son. Katastropha is a Tier 3-ranked divine, which means he's much older than Crystal Prism, who is the equivalent of an infant demigod due to how recently he Ascended.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: Talisman referred to him as "the success" while looking for him, largely due to being the only publicly-confirmed success of their experiments. This sets alarms for Prince Shamrock, who correctly suspected that Talisman is a member of the Alicorn Ascendancy and warns Celestia and Luna of Talisman's presence.
  • It's All My Fault: Shortly after becoming a young demigod, Crystal Prism developed a guilt complex similar to Princess Luna's, blaming himself for causing a lot of deaths and destruction as a monster just because he wished he was a stallion. Thanks to therapy sessions with Mentálne, he's gradually overcoming this.
  • Light 'em Up: He's described as having a developing talent in light magic, and some of his capabilities include firing searing light beams, creating barriers and light-based illusions, and having butterflies made of light guide him and his allies through dark places. He can also blind and disorient people with light through magical flash-bangs, manipulation of reflective surfaces, and channeling his light magic through his own body so he looks brighter than he initially is. During his rescue of Button Mash and the victims of CreepEntity513 from its collapsing game realm, he made a series of light-based platforms so they could cross a bottomless chasm and enter a portal into the real world.
  • Magic Eater: His stint as a "blob-looking monster thingy" made him react and eat any sources of magic he came across, leaving them completely powerless. It's theorized by Princess Twilight Sparkle that he absorbed so much magic that it ended up saving his life after Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses killed him, by reviving him in a magical cocoon that also Ascended him.
  • Manchild: Justified and zigzagged. Despite being a demigod that looks like a teenage Alicorn, he is still the unicorn colt he once was in age. So while he acts mature and wise because of Mentálne's therapy and the Character Development he went through after his Ascension, he still sometimes shows elements of his original childlike personality that befits his actual age.
  • The Magnificent: As people learned more about him and his heroic exploits, he would eventually gain the title of "the Butterfly of Rebirth", due to being a butterfly-like Alicorn demigod who embodies things like Rebirth, Change, and Transformation.
  • Meaningful Appearance: He's described by his profile as a butterfly-like Alicorn whose magic is centered around butterflies. Later Codex entries, as well as art illustrated by randomfan11 (shown in his folder image), would reveal that because of the nature of Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker's experiments, he would end up gaining hybrid butterfly-pegasus wings after reviving and Ascending.
  • Meaningful Name: It's noted in his entry that his name is based on a glass prism - just as a prism turns light into rainbows, Crystal Prism predicts the potential of people.
  • Meaningful Rename: He was once known as "Page Wheel", a unicorn colt who worked as a newspaper delivery boy. Post-experiments and Ascension, he took on the name "Crystal Prism" after he developed the ability of "emotional foresight". It's implied that another reason why he renamed himself is because he sees his old life as being broken beyond repair, as he had Ascended and could no longer resume things the way they used to be.
  • Mind over Matter: He's described as still having the typical unicorn telekinesis post-Ascension.
  • Morality Pet: During the "Temptation Unbound" event, he would form an Odd Friendship with Katastrofa, Ispita's youngest son and child. Because his foresight only lets him see bad outcomes, Katastrofa's normally quite apathetic and nihilistic, believing that he's only good at causing destruction. However, when around Crystal Prism, he would display a kinder, and more creative and intelligent side. This is justified, as it is believed In-Universe that Katastrofa's domain of Creation is similar to Crystal Prism's domain of Rebirth, so naturally they would hit it off.
  • "Not So Different" Remark:
    • He often helps children deal with stressful changes because he had gone through the same thing. He even goes into terrifying rages whenever he sees someone inflict harmful changes on them, though Mentálne is trying to help him control his anger and overcome his traumas to resolve his anger problems.
    • One reason why Luminiferous took Crystal Prism in as his student is that like him and his father, Morning Star, Crystal Prism was created by an unscrupulous/evil person as a wheel to carry out their own agendas.
    • He also compared Tyrantlestia to the school bullies that would torment his friend, Midnight Bell, because they would both bully people to make them feel bad about themselves. He goes on to state that "living good" is the best revenge against bullies in general since it reveals how pathetic and petty they are.
  • Oh, Crap!: During his talk with Temnobog, it slowly dawns on Crystal Prism that Queen Dazzleglow would likely not react well to hearing that Evil has a constructive place in Equus, and that her goal of breaking the Cycle might be foolish all along. Thankfully, Dazzleglow takes it in stride and privately clears up everything with Temnobog, leading to a better understanding of her motives on the dark god's part.
  • Odd Friendship: He would befriend Katastrofa, Ispita's youngest son, during the "Temptation Unbound" event. Katastrofa is an older deity and a apathetic nihilist whose catastrophic foresight made him believe that he's only good at destroying things and making people miserable with his catastrophes, even though he is very intelligent and kind and also embodies Creation. Crystal Prism is a young Alicorn demigod who has empathetic precognition, but actively helps people deal with stressful changes despite the incredible trauma he suffered in the past. Despite their differences and beliefs, they would hit it off easily, and it is believed In-Universe that Katastrofa's Creation domain is quite similar to Crystal Prism's Rebirth domain.
  • One to Million to One: Befitting his portfolio, he can quickly change his body into a swarm of blue butterflies as a quick, alternative evasion method in case using his wings isn't an option.
  • Overnight Age-Up: As a colt, he secretly wished he was a stallion so he could take care of his sick mother. After he was kidnapped and experimented on by Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, he would transform into a magic-eating monster that rampaged through the Grittish Isles, and would be revived and healed by the magic he absorbed after he was killed by both Luminiferous and the Equestrian Alicorn Princesses. This resulted in him Ascending and coming out a physically older Alicorn demigod, though his entry that he would be heavily traumatized by his experiences. However, it's subverted in that, as his entry notes, the healing/revival process that Ascended him actually took several days to complete.
  • Pals with Jesus: He's the "Jesus" part of the trope, being an Alicorn demigod who is friends with Midnight Bell and her great-aunt, Scarlet Bell. It's justified because both of them knew him as the mortal Page Wheel because they're neighbors, though he and Midnight Bell initially got off on the wrong hoof after he teased her for her clumsiness. After a series of horrible events that ultimately led to Page Wheel Ascending, his friendships with the Bells would play a huge role in helping him recover from his post-Ascension traumas.
  • Pen Pals: With him frequently away from town due to being Luminiferous's student, Midnight has become his "wing pal"; since Crystal Prism uses Telepathy to control butterflies and make them his eyes and ears, Midnight keeps him informed on her life and what's going on at home whenever she sees a butterfly.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: Crystal Prism is a young black-pelted Alicorn demigod with blue and white markings, though as Page Wheel he had a pale blue pelt with white spots. His friend, Midnight Bell, is a pink-pelted Earth pony filly with a wild orange mane and tail.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • In-Universe; post-Ascension, Crystal Prism would often have nightmares where he was killed by Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses, but didn't come back to life like he did. These nightmares gradually lessened as he continued seeing Mentálne for therapy.
    • It's implied that if he hadn't teased Midnight Bell in the first place, he likely wouldn't have gone through a lot of crap that ended with his traumatic Ascension.
  • The Prankster:
  • Pretty Butterflies: He has become associated with blue butterflies after Ascending to demigod status, due to having magic that revolves around them. In turn, his butterfly agents became symbols of good fortune and good changes.
  • Psychic Powers: He has telepathy (which he uses to control butterflies), precognitive empathy, and can cast light-based illusions. He also has the same telekinetic magic that he had when he was Page Wheel the unicorn colt.
  • Rage Against the Reflection: In an emotional conversation with her mother, Twilight Sparkle mentions that Crystal Prism couldn't look at himself in the mirror without freaking out; one such incident required Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Twilight herself to calm him down. It's heavily implied that Crystal Prism's strong reactions to his reflections are due to wishing he was a stallion so he could take care of his (at the time) sick mother, only to have his wish granted in the worst possible way and thus, his reflections serve as Trauma Buttons for how he changed and what he went through.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Peter of Mary and The Witch's Flower isn't related to Elvis Presley. In the Codexverse, however, Crystal Prism is related to Blue Suede Heartstrings by virtue of being a descendant of the latter's oldest adoptive son, Prince Crystal Clear.
  • Resurrective Immortality: While he's ageless due to being an Alicorn, his magic would always surround him and incubate him in a magical cocoon whenever he's killed. It's noted that it takes "several days or so" for him to fully revive himself, during which he's a complete sitting duck that needs efficient protection from those who wish him harm. It's implied that the first time doing this was what partially added to his initial trauma.
  • Screw Destiny:
    • According to research notes and police interrogations, Noble Grace had intended to create an Alicorn that embodied Rebirth and Change to herald a "new age" for Ponykind, which became Crystal Prism's role once he Ascended. However, he turned away from it after Golden Scepter encouraged him to determine his own path.
Crystal Prism: Well, I guess she still got what she wanted, in the end... I Ascended and became the Alicorn of Rebirth and Change, heralding a 'new age' and all that. I suppose it's my only destiny now... right?
Emperor Golden Scepter: "No... no, my little pony. It is not the only destiny you have... far from it, actually.
Crystal Prism: What makes you say that, Emperor?
Emperor Golden Scepter: I have the power to see the future of every pony on this planet. And yet, an old friend of mine taught me that 'nothing is truly set in stone'. Every person, divine and mortal, has the power to change and determine their fate, including you.
Crystal Prism: But... how can I do that if... if...?
Emperor Golden Scepter: You embody Change, do you not?
      Crystal Prism: Er... yes?
Emperor Golden Scepter: Then you have your answer. What that old mare and her crony did to you was wrong. However, you have more roads open to you now. What you will do with your life and your new divinity from this point on, is entirely up to you.
    • He would also receive advice on forging his own destiny from his divine ancestor, Prince Crystal Clear, who was enraged by what his young descendant went through.
Prince Crystal Clear: Change and Rebirth ain't bad by themselves. Yeah, bad changes happen, an' that always sucks. But good changes happen, too. If some flank-hole can change yer future and take control of yer life, then what's stoppin’ ya from doing the same?
    • Later on, he himself would suggest the option of directly averting bad futures to Katastrofa, who would become his friend during the "Temptation Unbound" event/conflict. By Crystal Prism's reasoning, Katastrofa already knows what's going to happen, so there's nothing stopping him from trying to change things. Katastropha, who is normally The Fatalist, was noted to have been caught completely off-guard.
  • Seers: He has what the Church of the Stars called "emotional foresight", which is actually an extremely rare type of empathy that gives prophetic visions about someone whenever he thinks strongly of them before going to bed. However, his emotions and sentiments must be strong enough for it to work.
    • He foresaw Midnight Bell falling into a deep depression over guilt towards her role in his Ascension, so he recommended Midnight to Mentálne, the young Bogolenya Deer-Draconequus goddess of Psychology, knowing that she needed help as much as he did.
    • He also foresaw Button Mash getting in trouble with the game-based Eldritch Abomination, CreepEntity513, and told Luminiferous about it. This is what allowed Luminiferous to help Button Mash fight CreepEntity513, by giving the Earth pony colt a trinket that'll allow him to aid Button from outside the game world and lend him his future potential.
  • Semi-Divine: Much like King/High-Prince Thorax, Crystal Prism is considered to be the equivalent of an infant divine, having ascended extremely early in his life. As such, while he's rendered physically ageless, he's extremely weak and inexperienced compared to many other deities of Equus. Many deities, including Rhiannon of the Coltic Pantheon, are interested in helping him Ascend to true godhood.
  • Soul Power:
  • Strong Family Resemblance: While they're distantly related, he strongly resembles his ancestor, Prince Crystal Clear, as he has the latter's blond hair, white markings, blue pelt, and brown hooves. The resemblance lessened after he Ascended to demi-godhood, but it's still there.
  • Sweet Tooth:
  • Telepathy: He has telepathic abilities that allow him to summon butterflies for various needs. He can even talk to people through them.
  • Took a Level in Cheerfulness:
  • Took a Level in Jerkass:
  • Took a Level in Kindness:

  • Character Development: Goes through one, in short order. It's rather appropriate, considering that his portfolio revolves around Rebirth, Change and Transformation.
    • As Page Wheel, he was described as polite and well-meaning yet Innocently Insensitive, and laughed at Midnight Bell's clumsiness because he thought she was funny. However, he secretly wanted to be a stallion so he could take better care of his mother, who was ill at the time.
    • Once he Ascended as Crystal Prism, he became withdrawn, melancholic, depressed because of the trauma he went through, and developed both a guilt complex for wishing that he was older. It even got to the point where he had nightmares of where he didn't revive himself and Ascend, and had breakdowns whenever he looked at himself in mirrors. On the other hand, he developed great empathy for those who are undergoing stressful changes, especially young children, and often tries to help them deal with these changes. And thanks to Mentálne's therapy, he was eventually able to forgive Midnight Bell for her part in causing his trauma... though because of his experiences, he would have "terrifying" rages whenever he sees someone forcing change on people for nefarious ends.
    • At some point, Yarost helped him acknowledge that his "terrifying" rages were unhealthy by stoking Crystal Prism's anger towards Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker to unhealthy degrees. This would make him try control his anger.
    • After the Storm King Crisis ended, he would comfort Celestia in the aftermath of Tyrantlestia's defeat, even drawing from personal experiences as well as Midnight's encounters with bullies to make her feel better. It's also mentioned that when Crystal Prism visited Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker in prison, he tried convincing them to change their ways instead of lashing out at them, then gave up when it was clear they refused to change.
    • During the Fourth-Age Shadow Sentinel's collaborative takedown of Canterlot's criminal underworld with the Pillars of Equestria and the Night Guard, Crystal Prism had a conversation with the dark god Temnobog about the Balance Between Good and Evil and why Good Needs Evil in general. It's noted that while he was left a little shaken for a while, he ultimately was able to understand Temnobog's beliefs, gaining a greater understanding of the world.
    • When he and Twilight Sparkle protected Ruby Heart from Poena, he angrily yet calmly warned the divine Tulpa of the bad consequences that would follow if she tried forcing Ruby to side with her. Mentálne saw this as a major improvement on his recovering psyche.
    • During the "Temptation Unbound" event, he would form an Odd Friendship with Katastrofa despite the latter being "evil" and one of Ispita's biological children. It is believed In-Universe that his domain of Rebirth is quite similar to Katastrofa's domain of Creation, allowing them to become friends easily.

  • Tranquil Fury: In one incident where he protected Ruby Heart from Poena, he angrily yet calmly warned the divine Tulpa that bad consequences will await her if she tried making Ruby change her beliefs to side with her. Mentálne saw his reaction as a major improvement for his recovering psyche, considering he used to display "terrifying" rages towards people who tried to force change for nefarious means.
  • Trauma Button: Deconstructed. While he eventually forgave Midnight Bell for her part in his transformation, the same couldn't be said for Noble Grace and Bubbling Beaker, and he tends to go into "terrifying" rages whenever he sees people subjecting others (especially young children) to horrible situations similar to his own. When the unicorn trio Decepticolt, Zappityhoof, and Goldencap wrongly assumed he was an Entitled Bastard who kept the secrets of Ascension to himself, he was enraged by their collective Lack of Empathy — a fact made worse by Decepticolt, Zappityhoof, and Goldencap's previous participation in the experiments that made him the way he presently is. However, through Mentálne's therapy, he's gradually getting over this, realizing that his anger towards such people might be unhealthy.
Crystal Prism: Back at home, two ponies thought it'd be a great idea to kidnap and use me for their experiments so they could create Alicorns, yet ended up with a monster. I was so angry at them for what they did to me that I would get super mad if I saw others do the same thing. I thought people like them were beyond forgiveness."
Ruby Heart: ...But now you don't?
Crystal Prism: ...Kinda. Still working on it, but I don't get angry as much as I used to. Mentálne helped me a lot... She taught me that not all people who do monstrous things are monstrous at heart, that they might actually regret what they did. She also said that those who don't feel sorry might be seriously messed up in the head.
  • Trauma Conga Line: He was kidnapped by two disgraced teachers/wanted criminals, subjected to horrible experiments in an attempt to turn him into an Alicorn, destabilized and became a dangerous magic-eating monster instead, killed by Luminiferous and the Equestrian Princesses to stop his rampage, and then revived/ascended when his own magic incubated him in a cocoon, turning him into an Alicorn. All because he teased a young Earth pony filly for being clumsy, which later caused Midnight Bell to lie about him to the aforementioned people responsible for his situation in the first place to save her own skin. Is it any wonder he came out so traumatized after all this?
  • They Would Cut You Up: In light of his Ascension, the Alicorn Ascendancy is looking to retrieve and experiment on him so they could learn how he became an Alicorn. Fortunately, he has many people on his side who are willing to protect him from the nefarious organization, such as the Coltic Pantheon and Scarlet Bell.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting:
  • Winged Unicorn: He was once a Unicorn colt, but Ascended to demi-godhood as an Alicorn with hybrid pegasus-butterfly wings following a brutal Trauma Conga Line. Because Alicorns are generally divine royalty, he gets mistaken for one by "CreepEntity513"'s victims (except Button Mash, who had previously befriended him) when he arrived to lead them to safety. Unfortunately for him, the fact that he Ascended as a direct result of his creators' experiments gained the attention of the Alicorn Ascendancy, whose members have devoted themselves to looking for "the success" so they can perform more experiments to learn how he successfully Ascended.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Played with. Currently he's a demigod who looks like a teenage Alicorn, but chronologically he's still as young as the colt he once was and sometimes acts like his actual age. The reason why he tends to act mature and wiser than his age is because he went through a lot of bad experiences that required therapy to recover from, causing him to experience Character Development at the same time.
  • Younger Than They Look: Implied. His demigod form looks like a teenage Alicorn, but chronologically his age hasn't changed from when he was Page Wheel the unicorn colt. He's also roughly the same age as Midnight Bell, his neighbor and an Earth pony filly. Temnobog notes that he looks far too young to have Ascended into Alicornhood, implying that Ascension usually happens much later in life. This would make Crystal Prism almost literally the equivalent of a newborn divine.
  • Youthful Freckles: As shown by his folder images, he has white freckle-like markings all over his body as a sign of his youth. It was more pronounced in his life as Page Wheel, as it shows how innocent he was pre-Ascension. He still has them, but it contributes to his ethereal look as an Alicorn demigod now.

Actias Oriel Avalon-Lyonesse, the Warden of Winter

Classification: Ethereal

Portfolio: Death, Retribution, Desolation

Rank: Divine (Tier ???)

Actias Oriel Avalon-Lyonesse (his entry here) is 'Zeroth-Spawnth' son of Changeling Emperor Blackthorn and Changeling Empress Blackrose/Rosedust, conceived while both were under the effects of the infamous Love Poison, making him like his siblings among the very first Changelings to ever exist.

  • Aloof Big Brother:
  • Always Identical Twins: Subverted. He's part of a set of mix-gendered twins, with Danaus being his sister.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a hybrid Pony-Changeling goddess who embodies Death, Retribution, and Desolation.
  • Beware the Silly Ones:
  • Calling the Old Man Out:
  • Child by Rape:
  • Covered with Scars:
  • Dark and Troubled Past:
  • Dragged Off to Hell:
  • Establishing Character Moment:
  • God of the Dead:
  • Hates Their Parent: Like his sister Danaus, Actias hates his parents for their actions at the dawn of their existence, his mother Blackrose/Rosedust for being monstrously abusive against them in her vindictive rage, hatred and bitterness over The Fall and anything to do with Blackthorn to the point of driving them away from her presence, and his father Blackthorn himself for causing the whole mess. While Actias, like his sister, become more willing to give his mother a chance after a remorseful Rosedust finally began to seek out her Zeroth Spawn like Danaus to make genuine amends, his attitude towards his father remains unchanged, with his tone in their conversations dripping with venomous contempt and righteous anger for his character and actions, even telling Blackthorn to take his rare praise for Actias and 'shove it'. Justified in part for his father as Blackthorn remains an amoral and manipulative schemer and would likely take a lot longer than Rosedust to come around and make amends, and even then his deceitful nature and reputation would continue to make his true intentions questionable.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted. He and Danaus are mix-gendered twins, so they can be easily told apart.
  • Irony: Blackthorn notes that despite having no desire to compete with his brothers in Summer, he's managed a decisive victory over them without them even realizing it: as the ruler of the Courts' Hellrealm and the one who claims their wicked dead, most of his monstrous, greedy, Evil Overlord brothers will inevitably be claimed by him when they die.
  • The Jailer: The self-proclaimed Warden of Winter, he keeps the Winter Court from causing too much trouble. He's also the warden and ruler of the Changeling Courts' Hellrealm, where he keeps their wicked dead, including his younger brothers, imprisoned for their crimes.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Actias is justifiably bitter and caustic towards his parents for their parents' abuse/neglect/role in their Dark and Troubled Past, but like his twin sister Danaus, Actias genuinely cares for his own kind and others and does whatever he could to help. While Danaus became the 'Steward of Autumn' and covertly help the Autumn Court hives and swarms maintain their independence from the official Courts ruled by their younger siblings, Actias took up the role of being the 'Warden of Winter' and a death god, containing the damage caused by the Winter Court not only in life, but also in the afterlife as the one who rules over the Changelings' infernal afterlife, ensuring that evil and villainous Changelings, especially his own brothers, will receive their due punishment. His hatred for his father was also as much out of righteous anger as it was out of resentment.
  • Light Is Good:
  • The Older Immortal: As Blackrose/Rosedust and Blackthorn's firstborn son, he's the second oldest male Changeling in existence.
  • Personality Powers:
  • Playing with Fire:
  • Polar Opposite Twins:
  • Rhymes on a Dime: Occasionally peppers his speech with rhymes, And tends to give those he drags off a rhyming poem detailing their crimes (as seen in his entry, where he gives a Changeling King a rhyming "The Reason You Suck" Speech before executing him).
  • Sinister Scythe:
  • Time Abyss: He's part of the 'Zeroth Spawn', which consists of Rosedust and Blackthorn's oldest children and predates even the incredibly ancient First Changeling Spawns themselves.
  • Token Good Teammate: As his name suggests, he's the Warden of the Winter Court rather than being banished there. Thus while technically the ruler of the Winter Court, he takes it on himself to try and minimize the damage those exiled there cause.
  • Walking Spoiler: His entire existence is a spoiler, as he's actually Rosedust and Blackthorn's eldest son.

Danaus Gloriana Lyonesse-Avalon, the Steward of Autumn

Classification: Ethereal

Portfolio: Heartbreak, Freedom, Illusion

Rank: Divine (???)

Danaus Gloriana Lyonesse-Avalon (her entry here) is the Changeling goddess of Heartbreak, Freedom, and Illusion, and the official 'steward/overseer' of the Autumn Court.
  • Alien Blood: Unlike normal Changelings, who have green blood, she has purple blood that has similar effects as the Love Poison. While only applied in her entry, her creator has confirmed being conceived under the Love Poison resulted in her essentially having it in or for her blood.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Given that

She may be the fabled Amber Royal, or her helping the Autumn Court from secret might just have just caused them to assume she is.

Personality wise, Danaus is a free spirit, wanting to remain wild and free. As such, she's a world traveler, by her own admission having been 'a little bit everywhere' throughout history since her birth. She is somewhat stoic and withdrawn, at least around those she doesn't like or trust. She tends to be much more friendly around the Autumn Court and those she likes. She is, as most Changelings and gods with a domain of Illusion or trickery, she is quite the trickster, rarely giving straight answers and playing some pranks. This has seen her get along fairly well with her younger brother Puck and Odyne. She's very intelligent, as to be expected of someone who has managed to avoid detection by the entire Changeling species for aeons. She is a master at guile, scheming, and manipulation, as both of her parents are. She has a fantastic 'poker face' to hide her true emotions when needed.

She is very protective of the Autumn Court, and has actively declared her protection of it now that she's revealed herself. This has caused opposition to her from certain Changelings, while others don't care. One Changeling King even attempted to kill her for it, but found himself outplayed and tricked into drinking his own poison he'd intended to kill her with.

    Ambassador Sacred Swan

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Truth, Diplomats, Hatred, Coexistence

Rank: Demigod

Ambassador Swan Song (her entry here) is a formerly racist Griffon ambassador who uncovered the Awful Truth about her homeland and eventually repented, defecting to Cobbletown and becoming a genuine 'Sapient Rights' activist.
  • Alliterative Name: Sacred Swan.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: After training under Prince Sermo Machina for many years, she becomes a Celestial Griffon demigoddess who embodies Truth, Diplomats, Hatred, and Coexistence.
  • Awful Truth: Her situation essentially consists of her discovering that her beloved homeland was founded entirely on genocide and racism, which was covered up by higher authorities. In the ensuing social/cultural divide, she and others who learned the truth are branded as heretics, forcing them to flee and seek asylum in another kingdom. Then she loses her old homeland permanently when various kingdoms and allied nations destroy it in a war, though she comes to accept her loss with help from her friend, Blacktip.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: She started searching for truths about her kingdom's founder, Gael, with the intention to support her anti-Dragon rhethoric. Gamall/High Queen Kunnusta gives her exactly that, but the truth she discovered isn't exactly a pleasant one.
  • Biblical Motifs: According to her creator, she was written with intentional symbolism to Saint Paul.
  • Break the Haughty: It's noted she used to be very haughty, racist, and self-rightous...until she discovered the Awful Truth of her kindom's founding and Gael's true nature. This discovery utterly breaks her, heaving her a sobbing wreck who can only tearfully beg Blacktip for forgiveness for what she did.
  • Broken Pedestal: Following her eviction from a diplomatic conference, she discovered through research that her kingdom's founder was a racist bigot who murdered an innocent Dragonflight and demonized his victims as savage beasts. She was so devastated by this that she approached Blacktip and broke down sobbing in his claws, begging for his forgiveness. Later, she and others who learned the truth would flee to Cobbletown after being branded as heretics by their hardline neighbors, and would play a role in its utter victory over her former kingdom.
  • Broken Tears: Learning Gael's true nature and thus having a Heel Realization over her own actions utterly breaks her, leaving her a sobbing wreck. Even once Blacktip calms her down, she couldn't stop crying due to the sheer anguish she's going through.
  • Eats Babies: Averted. Despite knowing of Draco-Balut and how it was made from unborn Dragon babies, she never ate them herself, but nonetheless condoned the practice because of her racism. She eventually realizes how horrible it actually is following her discovery of Gael's true character and publishes her findings, causing the world (especially the Dragons) to explode with outrage.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: On the receiving end from her former country-griffons. She used to be one of their star diplomats and a well-respected purveyor of their ideology and beliefs. Then she learned and published the Awful Truth about Gael, the founder of Talon Bàis, which caused a massive uproar in and out of the country. She was eventually branded as a traitor and a heretic by the fanatical Police State that rose to power, forcing her and other likeminded Talon Bàisians to flee elsewhere for asylum.
  • Excrement Statement: It's implied, to vent her resentment and anger over being branded a heretic for speaking the truth, that she did something... indecent on one of Gael's toppled statues. A Griffon Death god later admitting to making Gael's spirit watch her doing it.
  • Fantastic Racism: Deconstructed. Despite being an ambassador, she became incredibly racist herself due to growing up in an environment with strong anti-Dragon racism, and saw all Dragons as less than sapient. This leads to her launching an extremely racist tirade about Dragons being "savage beasts pretending to be civilized" during a diplomatic meeting, enraging the Dragon representatives there (including an attending Blacktip) and getting herself evicted. However, after doing research on her kingdom's history, she discovers her beliefs were based on a complete lie, which devastates her so much that she visits Blacktip's apartment and tearfully begs for his forgiveness. She also flees to Cobbletown along with those who also learned the truth, after which she would play a role in her former kingdom's destruction. At one point, she believed her racism made her guilty of the crimes committed by her kingdom's founder by association, but Blacktip would assure her she's not responsible for what happened and the only thing she's guilty of was simply being racist.
  • Former Bigot: Like the huge majority of her kingdom, she was incredibly racist towards Dragons, treating them like animals and using her ambassador position to encourage the systemic dehumanization and persecution of Dragons in other allied kingdoms. Then she gets kicked out of a diplomatic conference for her racism, which leads to her discovering an Awful Truth about her kingdom's founder whom she idolized up to that point. Her discovery drove her and others to seek asylum in Cobbletown after they were declared heretics by her kingdom's new fanatical government, and her knowledge played a small yet critical role in her kingdom's destruction. She is now an activist who advocates for sapient rights for all, though her previous actions have left her with a Guilt Complex that hasn't entirely gone away.
  • Foul Waterfowl: She's a Swan Griffon, but was an incredibly racist bigot who abused her ambassador position to encourage the systemic dehumanization and persecution of Dragons, seeing them as little more than savage beasts to be curbed. Once she discovers the horrible truth about her kingdom's heroic founder, she renounces her racism and becomes a sapient rights activist to atone for her previous actions.
  • Freudian Excuse:
  • Godhood Seeker: A positive example. Wanting to atone for her racism and condoning the atrocities committed against Dragonkind by Gael and the Talon Bàis Pantheon, she approached Prince Sermo Machina with a request to help her Ascend, so everyone will learn how ugly and horrific racism of all kinds can be if allowed to fester for so long. Sermo accepts her request, impressed by her honesty and sincerity, and she eventually becomes a Celestial Griffon demigoddess after many years of training.
  • God Was My Co-Pilot: It turns out Gamall, the griffon who helps her find Gael's journel, was actually the reformed High Queen Kunnusta all along.]]
  • Heel–Face Turn: Learning the Awful Truth of her kingdom’s founder and origins of their infamous racism causes one of these for Sacred Swan.
  • Hot-Blooded: She's noted to have anger problems and will lose her temper if pushed too far. She's also sometimes prone to swearing because of it. Blacktip and others are trying to help her deal with this, however.
  • Internalized Categorism: Learning the Awful Truth of the founding of her kingdom broke her, to the point of seeing herself as a monster on par with Gael just for idolizing him and endorsing the anti-Dragon racism he instilled in her people. Blacktip would forgive her and help her realize she was only guilty of her own racism, not Gael's crimes, though her guilt would never truly leave her.
  • Interspecies Friendship: She ends up befriending Blacktip, an Ascendant Dragon demigod, of all people. This is because she was previously a racist ambassador who saw Dragons as "savage beasts", but discovered to her horror that her beliefs were based on lies her kingdom's founder created out of sheer hatred for Dragonkind. Blacktip, for his part, was willing to forgive her on account of her genuine remorse and how her discoveries affected her mentally and emotionally.
  • Minor Crime Reveals Major Plot: She got kicked out of a diplomatic conference for violating diplomatic protocols with her extremely racist behavior. This leads to her researching her kingdom's history out of desire to support her anti-Dragon racism, upon which she discovers that her kingdom was actually founded on complete lies while her kingdom's founder was nothing but a racist mass-murderer who targeted innocent Dragons out of sheer hatred for them. Her discovery creates a fall-out so bad that her kingdom is reduced to rubble by the end of it, thanks to divine and mortal retaliation.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: She is horrified to learn that Gael was actually a racist mass-murderer who portrayed himself as a hero, and that both she and her people were unwittingly supporting his actions. The truth affects her so much that she pukes up everything in the bathroom. When she meets Blacktip afterwards to apologize for her previous racist behavior, he is shocked to see her changed from a haughty, racist ambassador to an emotional wreck with a huge guilt complex pretty much overnight.
Sacred Swan: (after learning Gael's journal and discovering he was Evil All Along) What have I done? NOTUS AND BOREAS, WHAT HAVE I DONE?!
  • "Not So Different" Remark: As Blacktip noted, her situation regarding her former kingdom is similar to his — both of them learned of an Awful Truth that was deliberately twisted by their own people to make themselves look more heroic, sending them into a Heroic BSoD. In Blacktip's case, he learned of the 'Burning of Amorea' and how Dragonkind twisted it to make themselves appear more heroic, while Swan learned her Fantastic Racism was based on a complete lie created by a genocidal mass-murderer. This actually led to them becoming friends as Blacktip knew full well what she was going through, having experienced it himself.
  • Oh, My Gods!: She screams the names of Notus and Boreas, two prominent Griffon deities, as she laments how she was unwittingly endorsing a racist mass-murder who decieved everyone.
  • Our Gryphons Are Different: She's a Southern Griffon — specifically, a Swan Griffon — and thus is part Swan and part feline.
  • Personality Powers:
  • Red Pill, Blue Pill: After discovering Gaul's journel, Gamall (actually High Queen Kunnusta in disguise), who helped her find it, offers her a choice: close the book, hide it away, and forget she ever found it so she and her kindgom can continue living in peaceful, ignorant bliss, or leave the book and read it to the world, exposing King Gael's horrific crimes. She ultimately chooses the latter, setting in motion the events that lead to her kingdom's destruction.
  • Semi-Divine: She became a Celestial Griffon demigoddess after training under Prince Sermo Machina for many years.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Before her Heel–Face Turn, she wore fancy suits. She stopped doing it after discovering her homeland's Awful Truth and defected to Cobbletown.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: As part of her recurring anger problems, she can become rather foul-mouthed when angry despite her best efforts to control her temper. Even after pulling a Heel–Face Turn, she still suffers from it. Blacktip and others are trying to help her through this, however.
  • Spanner in the Works:
  • Stress Vomit: Learning the Awful Truth about Gael, someone she idolized, being a mass-murdering liar on top of guilt realizing that means her own actions following his example were vile forces her to run to the bathroom and puke her guts up.
  • Swans A-Swimming: She's part Swan as a Southern Griffon, and occasionally shows signs of it like honking when she gets angry. Also, her webbed paws make for good swimming, but are less dexterous for actually holding stuff.
  • Take Our Word for It: In-Universe, her massive, racist tirade at the conference was so foul-mouthed, bigoted, and inflammatory that Codex Equus researchers refused to reprint it.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: According to her, her favorite breakfast food was a Dragon omelet, "filled with bacon, watercress, and cheese, topped with chives and accompanied by buttered bread and a cup of coffee". This stemmed from how she grew up eating Dragon omelets with her siblings as a young chick. Following her discovery of her kingdom's Awful Truth and the loss of her home, however, she was confirmed to be one among many ex-Talon Bàis Griffons who turned to vegetarianism to atone for their crimes and/or condonement of their society's racism.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Her discovery of secret records regarding Gael's true character and crimes kickstarts a series of events that leads to (among other things) the kingdom of Talon Bàis experiencing a cultural-political crisis, becoming a xenophobic Police State, and being utterly destroyed by the 'Free Dragon' kingdoms it tried to wage war against. She felt guilty and saddened over the loss of her home, but thanks to Blacktip, she ultimately accepted that her people chose to doom themselves by clinging onto their anti-Dragon racism.
  • Villainous BSoD: To say she was NOT happy learning about the Awful Truth about her nation’s founder would be a massive understatement. She ultimately rallied though and chose to do the right thing by publishing it.
  • Virtuous Vegetarianism: As a Talon Bàis Griffon, she used to eat various Dragon dishes (including those that used Dragon eggs and juvenile Dragons as ingredients), and saw nothing wrong with this due to her racism. After discovering the Awful Truth of her home and surviving the destruction of Talon Bàis, she was among many who turned to vegetarianism to atone for partaking in their former kingdom's atrocities. Deconstructed, as it's pointed out she biologically needs meat to live and this was actually Self-Harm. Fortunately, she's convinced to eat meat again.
  • What You Are in the Dark: As pointed out by Gamall/High Queen Kunnusta, after discovering and reading Gael's journal, she's the only mortal presently alive who knows the Awful Truth about his actions. As such, she could either close the book and never reveal the contents, allowing her kingdom to continue living in ignorance, or blow the lid on it and finally expose injustice that was hidden since its founding. She ultimately chooses to do the latter.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: She was praised by her fellow Griffons for "putting those scaly savages in their place", while telling her not to worry about getting evicted from the diplomatic conference too much. After learning what her kingdom's founder really did to the 'wicked' Dragonflight he killed in legends, however, she remembers the praise she previously received, and it's the last straw that pushes her to Stress Vomit in the bathroom.

King Dumortierite, the Spark of Altruism

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Magic, Friendship, Altruism, Coexistence

Rank: Divine (Tier II/Lesser)

"Altruism is not a weakness, but a virtue that makes great things. How else would Cobbletown and its Firecrafters have come to being?"

King Dumortierite (his entry here) is the Ryujin god of Magic, Friendship, Altruism, and Coexistence, and is the leader of the Cobbletown Pantheon.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: He Ascended to demi-godhood by letting go of his grudge towards his former Dragonflight and learning the importance of forgiving people's differences and faults. He would later Ascend to true godhood by continuing to train under Arcaniss.
  • The Ageless: He is this by virtue of being a Dragon, as even mortal Dragons in the Codexverse get Stronger with Age. However, he could still get killed or injured. Becoming a Ryujin made him immortal in the sense that his divinity makes him much harder to kill.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Ryujin god who embodies Magic, Friendship, Altruism, and Coexistence.
  • The Archmage: Many people who know him call him the "Twilight Sparkle" of Dragonkind, and for good reason. Much like Twilight/Amicitia, he's a very intelligent Dragon who could weave his own spells and has a vast knowledge in arcane lore from years of studying. After Ascending as a god of Magic, he gained access to the combiend magics of all Dragon types; even though he's most skilled in Psychic Powers as a Jewel Dragon (specifically, a Dumortierite Dragon), he is currently studying other, ancient forms of Dragon magic to help Dragonkind evolve magically as a race. Even before Ascending, his innate magic was strong enough that he badly injured several Dragons from his own Dragonflight with a huge burst of arcane energy, an impressive feat considering Dragonkind's magic resistance and the fact that he was outnumbered. It is believed with time, he might be able to surpass Prince Arcaniss himself, something that Arcaniss looks forward to.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: He disarms the hostile and xenophobic King Aspen by asking, "...You know nothing beyond what you were taught, don't you?". Then, when Aspen accuses him of "[knowing] nothing about [him]", he responds by asking two more questions that leaves the Alvslog Deer King speechless:
King Dumortierite: [For] someone who genuinely cares about nature, how much do you care for the creatures beyond it? How much do you care knowing that, despite lots of evidence of sapientkind's selfishness and greed, there are others who are just as willing to care for and protect nature as you are?
  • Astral Projection: One of his Psychic Powers is astral projection.
  • Authority in Name Only: Zigzagged. As a divine King and leader of the Cobbletown Pantheon, he's technically the 'true' ruling authority of Cobbletown, but he refuses to establish himself as an actual sovereign because he mainly sees himself as a teacher and protector. In his eyes, both King Chaorite and Queen Mirrored Love, who he appointed to rule Cobbletown in the first place, are doing a good job at ruling. Still, what he does holds weight and many Cobbletowners worship him out of gratitude for lifting their home out of poverty many years ago.
  • Badass Teacher: He's a powerful Ryujin god of Magic and a magical prodigy who has the potential to surpass even Prince Arcaniss in terms of skill, talent, and power. He's also an open-minded and compassionate teacher who encourages his students to keep learning and cultivates in them the virtues of friendship, altruism, and peaceful coexistence.
  • Breath Weapon: As a Dumortierite Dragon, he can fire beams of psychic energy from his mouth similarly to Ruby Dragons.
  • Close to Home:
    • He despises sham trials because he sees them as an excuse for bigoted people to get innocents wrongfully convicted for opposing their beliefs. This stems from his youthful experiences where he was wrongfully convicted and exiled for bigoted reasons, despite the Dragons he badly injured being guilty of actual wrongdoing, with his own parents doing nothing to help him. He worked hard in ensuring that both Cobbletown and its local Dragonflight have a fair and impartial judicial system so no one would suffer like he did.
    • He despises reactionary and bigoted attitudes. This stems from his youthful experiences of witnessing and experiencing the horrific consequences of bigotry firsthand. While he sympathizes with those who were indoctrinated into following them like he was, he doesn't feel the same for those who choose to spread such things or harm and/or kill others out of genuine, malicious bigotry. As a result, those who willingly committed hate crimes with no remorse are harshly punished in Cobbletown.
    • Much like Twilight/Amictitia, he absolutely hates those who destroy people's friendships and altruistic desires out of bigotry and malice. This stems from losing his first 'Tiny' friends to cruel, greedy, proud, and xenophobic Dragon neighbors who saw 'Tinies' as nothing more than food and/or playthings. As a result, those who do such things receive the worst punishments, either from him or from Cobbletown's judicial system.
  • Cool Teacher: He's a charismatic individual who is quite good at sensing and encouraging people's positive traits, which makes him both a good leader and an effective teacher. He also sees nothing wrong with wanting to learn and encourages others to keep learning. And after learning (and relearning) the virtues of friendship, altruism, and coexistence, he seeks to cultivate them in others, even his fellow Dragons. Being a god of Altruism helps.
  • Delightful Dragon: He initially wasn't this in his youth by virtue of condoning his fellow Dragons' bigotry and constant raids on innocent 'Tiny' civilizations, even though he was merely an Insufferable Genius. However, after a series of events that made him learn (and relearn) the virtues of friendship, altruism, and coexistence, he came to realize his past bigotry was wrong. Now he's an open-minded and compassionate Dragon who welcomes all into Cobbletown.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": He's a Dumortierite Dragon, a type of Jewel Dragon, whose name is... Dumortierite.
  • Dragons Are Divine: He started out as a mortal Dumortierite Jewel Dragon who eventually Ascended to godhood under Prince Arcaniss' tutelage.
  • The Empath: As a god of Altruism, he has empathic powers that allow him to sense and encourage altruistic feelings in others. He can also project an aura that brings out people's positive traits, which works even for Dragons despite them having greed as a racial trait.
  • Enlightened Self-Interest: He initially only helped the Cobbletowners out of poverty so they could pay him back with arcane lore once they got rich enough, intending to live out his days as a hermit studying magic. However, his frequent interactions with 'Tinies' and his fellow Dragons gradually brought back his good sides, which went a long way in turning him into the compassionate and friendly Ryujin god he is today.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: During his sham trial, he learned to his utter heartbreak that his own parents were indirectly responsible for the deaths of his Pony friends, having notified the local Dragon Lord of his disappearances out of both genuine concern and unconscious bigotry. They also did nothing to help him while he was being convicted for his supposed 'crimes'. This understandably left him quite bitter and hateful towards them, until various benevolent deities taught him the importance of Forgiveness and influenced him to let it go.
  • Fantastic Racism: Deconstructed. While he never participated in his Dragonflight's crueler activities like pillaging 'Tiny' civilizations and terrorizing 'Tiny' non-Dragon races, he still condoned them and saw his people's bigoted, xenophobic attitudes as normal. Meeting a Pony named Magic Scroll and befriending them forced him to see that his bigotry is wrong, and losing his first friends to his cruel neighbors — as well as learning his parents' role in it and seeing them do nothing to help him during his sham trial — exposed him to how insidious and horrific bigotry can get. Though he was left deeply embittered and cynical for a time, he relearned the importance of friendship, altruism, and coexistence and became a champion of those values, opposing bigotry at every turn.
  • Freudian Excuse: Deconstructed. While he has sympathetic reasons for his behaviors, said behaviors turn out to be holding him back. It's only by letting go of them that he's able to Ascend.
    • He was initially bigoted like the majority of Dragonkind because he grew up in a very toxic and xenophobic environment. Even though he never participated in the pillages on 'Tiny' civilizations that Dragons are infamous for, he still condoned them and saw them as normal. Thanks to befriending a 'Tiny' Pony historian named Magic Scroll, he realizes that his beliefs were wrong. Losing his Pony friends to his cruel Dragon neighbors and being unfairly judged in a Kangaroo Court, though traumatizing, cemented his realization, turning him into a staunch opponent of all kinds of bigotry and discrimination.
    • He was emotionally distant towards the Dragons who would help co-found Cobbletown because at the time, he was grieving the deaths of his first friends at the claws of his cruel Dragon neighbors, and blamed himself for his inability to save them.
  • Fusion Dance: As a god of Coexistence, he notably shares the power to create fusions with Symvíosi, the Coexistence Primeval. He can fuse with his own friends to create new beings with unique powers, and he can do the same for others if they wished to. He can also use his fusion ability as a punishment by forcing racist individuals to fuse with each other until they learn to tolerate others. A flaw present in his fusions, however, is that they can be magically separated by (demi-)deities of Solitude and other similar concepts, such as Princess Sterling.
  • Geek Physiques: Due to prioritizing arcane research over physical combat unlike many Dragons, he was quite skinny. He bulked up somewhat after leaving home and becoming Arcaniss' student.
  • God Is Good: He's an intelligent, compassionate, and friendly Dragon who is The Good King for his pantheon and a staunch believer in The Power of Friendship. He's also a Cool Teacher who uses his charisma to bring out the best in his students and encourages them to keep on learning. That being said, he's a powerful Ryujin mage who won't suffer racism and bigotry in his presence, and is willing to harshly punish those who commit hate crimes.
  • God of Good: After realizing The Power of Friendship and letting go of his grudge towards the Dragons who hurt him so much, he Ascends and becomes a god of Magic, Friendship, Altruism, and Coexistence. Tellingly, his portfolio is very similar to Princess Twilight/Amicitia's, and he shares his domain of Coexistence with Symvíosi, the Coexistence Primeval.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He's a compassionate, friendly Dragon who loves studying magic and desires to teach others the virtues of friendship, altruism, and coexistence. He's also The Good King of the Cobbletown Pantheon and its namesake town, with his mortal subjects worshiping him out of gratitude for saving them from abject poverty. However, he despises bigotry and discrimination of all kinds, and has made it legal for hate crimes to be harshly punished in Cobbletown. He is also willing to kill if necessary, and has done so to the most bigoted and/or wicked Dragons during the 'Draconic Reformation'.
  • The Good King: He's the ruling King of the Cobbletown Pantheon, and he's a compassionate and friendly Ryujin who strives to be a good example for his mortal subjects, and desires to preach the virtues of friendship, altruism, and peaceful co-existence to all. He is very forgiving and wishes to protect people from being affected by racism and bigotry just as he was, including those who were indoctrinated by them. And whereas he studied magic and collected arcane lore purely for its own sake, he now does so to benefit Cobbletown. He prefers to solve problems peacefuly, but he won't hesitate to kill his foes to protect his subjects, and has done so to the most bigoted and/or wicked Dragons during the 'Draconic Reformation'.
  • Good Needs Evil: Defied at first. He was wary of letting evil exist in Cobbletown because he believed that doing so meant becoming arrogant, brutish, cruel, and greedy like many bigoted Dragons, including those of his former Dragonflight. He eventually relents after Prince Arcaniss and other deities showed him what happens when people develop stagnant/puristic/destructive forms of good in response to evil, and lets some of Temnobog's children and other 'constructively evil' deities join the Cobbletown Pantheon to test its namesake kingdom.
  • Heavenly Blue: As a Dumortierite Dragon, he has indigo-blue scales of various hues and shades, a light blue underside, and dark blue wings. He would later Ascend to godhood and become King of the Cobbletown Pantheon by realizing the importance of Forgiveness.
  • The Hermit: The cruelties of his Dragonflight and the betrayals of those close to him left him so deeply embittered that he originally planned to live in solitude, devoting his entire life to studying magic. Fortunately, prolonged interactions with the Cobbletowners and support from those who genuinely cared about him made him remember the lessons of friendship, altruism, and coexistence he learned with his first friends, influencing him to change his mind.
  • Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted. Because deities age differently in the Codexverse, he had to Ascend to demi-godhood first before moving on to true godhood. The fact that he was the first Cobbletown Dragon to do so made him the oldest of his friends by divine standards.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Due to growing up in a bigoted environment, he initially didn't put much stock in friendship and prioritized arcane research over socializing, until he befriended a Pony historian named Magic Scroll, giving him access to people capable of teaching him magic. He slipped into this again out of grief and guilt after his Pony friends, including Magic Scroll, were killed by cruel, greedy, and arrogant Dragons from his own Dragonflight, causing him to be emotionally distant to others . But after helping bring Cobbletown out of poverty and intermingling with its residents, he relearned the importance of friendship, convincing him to try again and becoming closer to the Dragons who would co-found the Cobbletown Pantheon with him as a result. This would later influence his Ascension, as he is given domains that ensured he would work and fight better when with others than if he was alone.
  • Insufferable Genius: He was initially this by virtue of preferring to study magic over socializing with others, even though it protected him from becoming as bad as his Draconic neighbors in his youth. This increased after losing his first friends to cruel, greedy, and arrogant Dragons from his own Dragonflight, causing him to believe that friendship was not worth the risks. While he chose to help bring Cobbletown out of poverty, it was only so the Cobbletowners could pay him back with arcane lore once they got rich enough, and he originally planned to live out his days studying magic in solitude. Thankfully, prolonged interactions with the Cobbletowners, receiving support from the Dragons who would become his friends, and being influenced by benevolent deities like Arcaniss helped him grow out of his insufferable tendencies.
  • Internalized Categorism: He was wary of accepting that Good Needs Evil, believing that doing so would mean becoming as arrogant, brutish, cruel, and greedy as his former Dragon neighbors. He eventually relented once Prince Arcaniss and other deities showed him what happens when people develop stagnant/puristic/destructive forms of good in response to evil, and let some of Temnobog's children and other 'constructively evil' deities join the Cobbletown Pantheon.
  • Interspecies Friendship: He has many non-Dragon friends thanks to his friendly personality and charisma, among them Princess Twilight/Amicitia and Blue Suede Heartstrings, both of them Alicorns. He befriended both of them, especially Blue Suede, whom he admired, due to sharing similar desires in opposing bigotry; he was enraged and saddened upon hearing that abuse from racist bigots contributed to Blue Suede's near-Fall (and happy when Blue Suede recovered).
  • Kangaroo Court: He was put on trial and exiled by his local Dragon Lord for badly injuring several members of his own Dragonflight, even though the affected parties brought it upon themselves by murdering his Pony friends out of greed, cruelty, and spite, provoking his furious retaliation. Even worse, his own parents were indirectly responsible for the deaths of his Pony friends and when he was convicted, they did nothing to help him during the trial. The incident later became one of his many sore spots, motivating him to ensure fair trials for everyone in Cobbletown so the people wouldn't go through the same experience as he did.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Invoked. As a god of Friendship, he can cast curses to punish those who break friendships and/or mistreat their own friends out of cruel, petty reasons.
  • Love Redeems: While he never participated in his Dragonflight's pillages of 'Tiny' kingdoms and civilizations, Dumortierite still condoned them and was racist towards 'Tinies' himself. This changed when he meets a Pony historian named Magic Scroll, who becomes one of his first friends and helps him see past his bigotry. Unfortunately, Dumortierite loses his friends when his own Dragonflight pillaged and destroyed the 'Tiny' Kingdom he frequently visited out of sheer cruelty, with Magic Scroll being among the casualties. He is traumatized so badly that he became emotionally aloof and distanced himself from everyone so he would never experience the pain of loss again.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Spark of Altruism", due to being a god of Altruism who encourages people to be more altruistic and kinder towards each other.
  • Magnetic Hero: Much like Twilight/Amicitia, he is a charismatic individual who is quite good at sensing and encouraging people's positive traits, which makes him both a good leader and an effective teacher. This gave the Cobbletown Pantheon lots of allies and members, and led to many other Dragons moving to Cobbletown as the Cobbletown Dragnflight. It's noted that being a god of Altruism helped in this.
  • Meaningful Name: He is named after dumortierite, a gemstone that helps people gain insight and nurture spiritual/psychic abilities.
  • Mind over Matter: One of his Psychic Powers is psionic telekinesis.
  • Mirror Character: Many people have compared him to Princess Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle, and rightfully so. They are both magical prodigies who once thought little of friendship and preferred to study magic, but spending time with others caused them to learn how important and rewarding friendship is. They also Ascended to godhood as deities of Magic and Friendship under the tutelage of benevolent deities, and became respected divine sovereigns (though Dumortierite doesn't see himself as such) who did everything they could to oppose bigotry and corruption of all kinds. The only main difference between them is that unlike Twilight/Amicitia, Dumortierite actually grew up in an extremely toxic environment that discouraged 'weakness', and lost his first friends to cruel and haughty bigots, which shaped his behavior and actions later on. Unsurprisingly, he and Twilight/Amicitia would become friends over each other's similarities, with Twilight/Amicitia later gifting him his own Magic Wand.
  • Moving Beyond Bereavement: Part of his character development involved moving on from his grief over Magic Scroll's death and the destruction of the 'Tiny' Pony kingdom he grew fond of. Under Arcaniss' tutelage, he eventually realized by continued to hate the Dragons who killed Magic Scroll, he was desecrating his friend's memory and Magic Scroll wouldn't have wanted him to live in bitterness. This partly factored into his first Ascension.
  • Never Be Hurt Again: A big reason why he was emotionally aloof to the Dragons who would co-found the Cobbletown Pantheon with him is because his first friends were 'Tinies' who were massacred, tormented, and eaten by cruel Dragons from his former Dragonflight. He was so traumatized by the event that he distanced himself from everyone, not wanting history to repeat itself. Fortunately, intermingling with the Cobbletowners and receiving support from everyone after opening up about his problems convinced him to try again, eventually leading to his Ascension as a god of Friendship.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: He's a Dumortierite Dragon, a type of Jewel Dragon with crystalline blue scales and racial abilities involving enhanced wisdom/intellect and Psychic Powers. His race is also where his name comes from. After Ascending to godhood, he became a Ryujin with related eldritch traits like crystal horns, scales made of dumortierite gems, back spines made of Magic energy, shiny wings, and a much bigger size compared to normal Dragons.
  • Our Gods Are Different: He's an 'Ascendant deity', described In-Universe as being one of the rarest of the three types of deities (the others being Elemental and Ethereal deities). He's also a Ryujin, specifically a mortal Dragon that managed to achieve apotheosis.
  • The Power of Friendship: He personally believes that friendship, altruism, and coexistence are not 'weaknesses' as some people think, but virtues that lead to great things, as he was able to redeem himself through his friendships with others. This later translated into a Friendship domain when he Ascended, giving him powers like empowering himself (and others) through his friendships, magically repairing and/or cutting friendship bonds, and curses to punish those who cruelly mistreated their friends and/or broke friendships. His domain of Coexistence also revolves around this to a degree, as he can perform Fusion Dances with others and help people overcome whatever that is preventing them from coexisting with others.
  • Psychic Link: As a god of Coexistence, his natural telepathy is enhanced to the point where he can create psychic links, which he can make permanent if he desired to.
  • Psychic Powers: Being a Dumortierite Dragon gives him a natural inclination for psionic magic similar to Ruby Dragons. After Ascending to godhood and becoming a god of Magic, his skill in psionics increased phenomenally. Among his powers are telekinesis, telepathy, Astral Projection, and precognition. His other domains also grant him a degree of psychic power, mostly telepathy and empathy. And like Ruby Dragons, he can fire beams of psychic energy form his mouth.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He has purple eyes, and he is a Dragon god of Magic and a powerful magical prodigy — so much that people started comparing him to Princess Twilight/Amicitia Sparkle.
  • Resistant to Magic: As a Dragon, he possesses his kind's natural magic resistance. This is very ironic considering that he's a god of Magic and a Dumortierite Dragon whose racial abilities includes a natural inclination for Psychic Powers.
  • Seers: One of his Psychic Powers is precognition. His Friendship domain both plays it straight and inverts it — he has a form of precognition that shows a person's potential friendships with others, and a form of retrocognition that shows a person's friendship history.
  • Semi-Divine: He became a demigod by realizing the importance of forgiving others for their flaws and mistakes if he is to truly promote friendship, altruism, and coexistence. He eventually Ascended to true godhood under Arcaniss' tutelage.
  • Super-Empowering: As a god of Friendship, he can empower himself and others through his friendships with them similarly to Twilight/Amicitia. This results in his spells being made much stronger than they normally would've been if he was alone.
  • Super-Intelligence: One racial ability he has as a Dumortierite Jewel Dragon is enhanced wisdom and intellect.
  • Surpassed the Teacher: Due to being a magical prodigy, he has been called the 'Twilight Sparkle' of Dragonkind, and it's believed by many that with time, he might potentially surpass his mentor, Prince Arcaniss, who himself is a talented god of Magic. Arcaniss looks forward to it and actively encourages it, since he wants Dragonkind overall to evolve magically as a race.
  • Survivor Guilt: He suffered from this following Magic Scroll's death and the Pony kingdom's destruction by his cruel Dragon neighbors, blaming himself for not being able to save both. It also understandably led to him holding a grudge against his own Dragonflight for both participating in and condoning the pillaging. Fortunately, his friends and mentor help him learn the importance of Forgiveness, and he is seeing various psychiatric deities in order to recover from his trauma.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: He pities King Aspen for going through the same circumstances as he did — starting out as an innocent youth who experienced horrible tragedies, then turned into a bigot by toxic people who held twisted ideals of what the 'perfect creature' should be. This leads to him imploring for Aspen to rethink his bigoted ways during their encounter in the Cosmic Convocation of Divine Sovereigns, despite being faced with Fantastic Racism from the latter.
  • Telepathy: One of his Psychic Powers is telepathy, which was enhanced when he became a god of Magic. His domains of Altruism and Coexistence also give him a degree of telepathy, with the former allowing him to detect and encourage altruism in others, and the latter allowing long-range telepathic communication and the creation of Psychic Links.
  • Top God: A "King of the Gods" example. He's the official King and leader of the Cobbletown Pantheon, which he co-founded with other Dragons who joined him in bringing Cobbletown out of abject poverty. His entry notes that his friends unanimously chose him for the position due to his experiences and good deeds, and despite feeling unworthy and undeserving of his title, he was assured that he won't be ruling alone.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: His failure to save his first friend, Magic Scroll, and the Pony kingdom he grew attached to from his own cruel Dragon neighbors left him extremely disillusioned and bitter. The fact that his own parents were indirectly responsible for his losses made things worse. Because of these experiences, he became distant and cold to everyone, believing friendship to be not worth pursuing in the long run, and desired to live as a hermit studying magic. Fortunately, a series of events, including finding Cobbletown and helping its residents out of poverty gradually convinced him to try again.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: He became bitter, disillusioned, and aloof following Magic Scroll's death and the destruction of the Pony kingdom he grew fond of at the claws of his cruel, greedy Dragon neighbors. While he chose to work with other Dragons to help lift Cobbletown out of poverty, he wasn't interested in making friends and planned to live out his days studying magic in solitude. However, prolonged interaction with his fellow Dragons, the Cobbletowners he helped, and others reawoke his kinder side, which went a long way in helping him Ascend.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Though initially bitter, disillusioned, and aloof, prolonged interactions with his fellow Dragons, the Cobbletowners he helped, and others made him relearn what it's like to experience friendship, altruism, and peaceful coexistence, influencing him to finally open up to his fellow Cobbletown Dragons and reveal his troubled history to them. He would later learn the importance of forgiveness from Prince Arcaniss, his mentor, and Meli’āki, making him realize that he had to be forgiving of other people's differences and flaws if he were to truly preach the virtues Cobbletown was founded upon.
  • True Companions: His relationship with the other Draconic co-founders of the Cobbletown Pantheon is this. Initially, he kept himself at arm's length from them due to being extremely disillusioned with friendship and not wanting to go through the pain of losing more friends. However, after opening up to them about his problems, he is met with genuine sympathy and support, after which he breaks down crying. This convinces him to have a second go at friendship, leading to the Dragons becoming close friends. When he Ascends to demi-godhood and shares insecurities over being crowned King of their pantheon, his friends assure him that he earned his position and they're all there to help him rule.
  • Underestimating Badassery: During the 'Draconic Reformation' event, he is confronted by a group of wicked/traditionlist Dragons from his former Dragonflight who assumed that his associations with 'Tinies' and beliefs in friendship made him a "pathetic little weakling". Unfortunately for them, he had already Ascended by this point, and he proceeds to wipe the floor with his foes easily by bombarding them with divine spells.
Dragon 1: Hehe, looks like the magic weirdo didn't learn his lesson after all.
Dragon 2: Yeah! First he's continued hanging around 'Tinies', and now he's preaching that lovey-dovey friendship nonsense to 'proper' Dragons like us. Disgusting!
Dragon 3: Indeed. Being exiled didn't make him tougher; it only turned him into a pathetic little weakling.
King Dumortierite: You're all wrong. I've gotten FAR stronger since I left.
Dragon 2: How? You're just a fake Dragon!
    King Dumortierite: THIS!
  • You Are Not Alone: At one point, he revealed his past history to his fellow Dragons to explain why he was emotionally distant to them. When the Dragons expressed genuine horror and sympathy in response and promised to support him no matter what, he was so moved by this that he broke down crying.
Howlite: We're sorry you went through that... No-Dragon should EVER go through that. Trust me, some of us speak from experience. If you ever need help, just call us up. We promise we'll be there for you, no matter what.
  • You Could Have Used Your Powers for Good!: Inverted. His bigoted Dragon neighbors believed his astounding magical talents were better used dominating 'Tiny' races and pillaging their civilizations, and did everything to ensure he became a 'proper' Dragon. Fortunately, he refused to listen and later devoted himself to using his magic for benevolent purposes.
  • Younger Than They Look: Due to being a Dragon, he ages differently than mortals. Because of this, he looks like an adult Dragon while he's actually quite young by his people's standards.

    Mana Equus, the Empyrean Magician

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant, Dead/Reincarnated

Portfolio: Magic, Friendship, Mana

Rank: Preeminent

Affiliation: Thirteen Empyreans, Equestrian Pantheon (main)

"Any-creature can use magic, but when shared with friends, that magic becomes even stronger."

Mana Equus (her entry here) is the Alicorn goddess of Magic, Friendship, and Mana, and is the thirteenth and youngest Empyrean to be born.

Saint Whipper Snare, the Reaper of Guilt/Prince Sekt Hjarta Innlausn-Heimdrasil, the Last-Second Chance

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal/Eldritch

Portfolio: Death, Second Chances, Guilt, Purgatory

Rank: Divine (Tier I/Godling; resembles an "Intermediate"-ranked deity)

"Guilt can either be a balm or a plague on your soul, depending on how you treat it."

Prince Sekt Hjarta Innlausn-Heimdrasil, born Whipper Snare (his entry here), is the eldritch Alicorn god of Death, Second Chances, Guilt, and Purgatory, and is another one of Moon Ray/Tunglið's friends.

Like his friends, Whipper is a kind Pony, helping not only drug addicts, but also those suffering from friendship troubles, guilt, and poor self-image. Having experienced all three, he sympathizes with those who did the same. He is also incredibly observant and introspective, which makes him far more invested in people’s troubles. He sees guilt as a natural response to wrongdoing and tries encouraging it in others so they can make up for their mistakes. But at the same time, too much guilt can be detrimental, as he learned the hard way. One of his duties as a Reaper involves helping souls in Purgatory-Realms acknowledge and come to terms with their guilt. Naturally, he despises bullies, as well as those who take their friendships for granted, refuse to acknowledge their mistakes, and use guilt as a form of emotional abuse.

It's implied that, going by his domains, he's a god who specializes in redeeming repentant souls by helping them acknowledge their guilt so they could atone for misdeeds and earn a second chance postmortem. However, like Fret Pick, he was an Archangel of Death before Ascending, and he's presently an eldritch god who is much more powerful than his chronological age suggests.

    Lucky Shot/"Regal Pillar"

Character: Heroic

Alignment: Neutral Good

Type: Colt/Earth Pony/Departed Soul/Lonely Rich Kid/Abused Foal/Mutant

Faction: Principalities of Equestria, Canterlot

Lucky Shot, aka "Regal Pillar" (his entry here) was an Earth pony colt who lived in the Principalities of Equestria, and was one of many Pony foals who was affected by the Striga Family.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: He receives a few comforting pats on the head from Moon Ray after the latter learns his parents died via Telepathy.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: He became friends with Moon Ray Vaughoof because he was very kind, comforting Lucky Shot when he needed it and calling him by his birth name instead of the name his abusive grandparents gave him. When it was time for Lucky Shot to be exorcised from his unicorn host body, Moon Ray stayed with him the entire time to provide emotional support. Moon Ray's easygoing nature also made it very easy for Lucky Shot to latch onto him. As a result, Lucky Shot now regards him as "Uncle Moony" and hangs out with Moon Ray in the Heaven-Realms whenever the latter is available.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: [WIP]
  • Dishing Out Dirt: As an Earth Pony, he has geokinetic abilities.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": Inverted. His birth name was Lucky Shot, but after the Striga Family transferred his soul into the body of a Unicorn colt, he was renamed "Regal Pillar" by his paternal grandparents. Lucky Shot hated his new name because his paternal grandparents were emotionally abusive, and they were trying to mold him into the ideal Unicorn scion that their son — his father — was not. Moon Ray calling Lucky Shot by his birth name was one of the reasons why they became friends.
  • Fantastic Racism: His grandparents tried to make him adopt tribalist attitudes towards non-unicorn ponies as part of their plan to make him the ideal unicorn scion. Unfortunately for them, it didn't work.
  • Forgiveness: Invoked by Moon Ray, who's working on helping him let go of this so he can be completely free of his abusive grandparents' influence.
  • Harmful to Minors: [WIP]
  • Hates Their Parent: He understandably hates his grandparents for how they killed his parents, ruined his life, and abused him just because his father chose to marry a 'common' Pony mare. Moon Ray is currently working on helping him let go of his hatred so he would be completely free of his grandparents' influence.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: [WIP]
  • Meaningful Name: His birth name is Lucky Shot, referring to his skill in Buckball and aspirations to become a Buckball athlete. Following his soul transference into a Unicorn colt's body by the Striga Family, he would be renamed "Regal Pillar" by his abusive paternal grandparents, who wanted to turn him into the 'ideal' noble scion that his dead father was not. Moon Ray decides to call him by his birth name instead out of sympathy, earning his trust and friendship.
  • Meaningful Rename: [WIP]
  • Mind over Matter: He gained arcane telekinesis after having his soul put in the body of a Unicorn colt against his will by the Striga Family. Despite his grandparents' attempts to make him take magic classes, he absolutely hated it.
  • Minor Crime Reveals Major Plot: His 'kidnapping' by a group of robbers who burglarized his grandparents' house and his subsequent accident provoked suspicions when Lucky Shot begged a Guardian of Love who healed him not to return him to his grandparents. This later led to the Equestrian Crown and its allies uncovering Lucky Shot's emotional and verbal abuse at the hooves of his paternal grandparents, and both his grandparents' dealings with the Striga Family and direct role in the deaths of his parents in a Tribalist extremist bombing in Manehattan.
  • Mutants: He's a 'Happy Tail' mutant, which gives him a Prehensile Tail, allowing him to play Buckball with growing proficiency as his birth name suggests.
  • Parental Abandonment: His parents died in a grocery-store bombing caused by Pony tribalist extremists, who were secretly paid by Lucky Shot's grandparents to kill his mother in an attempt to bring his father back into high society. While it worked, Lucky Shot's father ended up dying with his wife, leaving him the Sole Survivor. However, his status as a spirit living in a host body means that he ends up reuniting with his parents in the Heaven-Realms anyway.
  • Scars Are Forever: [WIP]
  • A Shared Suffering: One reason he was able to befriend Moon Ray Vaughoof of the Trimortidae because they both lived and grew up with abusive family members. Lucky Shot being mistreated by his grandparents earned him Moon Ray's sympathies, as he had to deal with a raging, alcoholic father for much of his foalhood in the Second Age.
  • Sole Survivor: He's the only one in his family who survived a grocery-store bombing caused by Pony tribalist extremists, which proved to be detrimental as he ended up in the care of his wealthy yet emotionally abusive paternal grandparents. As it turned out, the reason why Lucky Shot lost his parents is because his grandparents paid tribalists to get rid of the common-born mare Lucky Shot's father eloped with and married, so they could use her death as an excuse to bring him back into high society. Unfortunately, while it worked, both of Lucky Shot's parents died in the bombing. However, it's later averted when his status as a spirit living in a host body is revealed and he is exorcised by Equestrian spiritual agents, allowing him to reunite with his parents in the Heaven-Realms.
  • Super-Speed: As an Earth Pony, he had enhanced speed.
  • Super-Strength: As an Earth Pony, he had enhanced strength.
  • Super-Toughness: As an Earth Pony, he had enhanced endurance. This is what likely allowed him to survive the Tribalist bombing that killed his parents, though he was left heavily scarred in the process.

Prince Abyssal Echo Heartstrings, the Song of the Depths

Classification: Ascendant

Portfolio: Song, Abyss, Empathy

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Affiliation: Mousikós Pantheon (main), Caerulidae, N’ghft Vulgtmog

"Sing from the depths of your heart... and the world will listen."

Prince Abyssal Echo Heartstrings (his entry here) is the Oceanaiad god of Song, Abyss, and Empathy, and is a benevolent member of both the Caerulidae and the Mousikós Pantheon.

As a god of Abyss, one of his powers is telepathy.

Appearance-wise, like Opera Tide, Echo is a pure-blooded Oceanaiad, with an Equine upper body, a lower body being a fishtail like the Sea Ponies, and a red chest gem. He resembles Sonata Dusk, but his scales are generally of a darker blue, resembling the deeper parts of the ocean. He is quite handsome by Oceanaiad standards, though according to Blue Suede, he was rather pudgy during his infancy and childhood years.

As Dark Tide, Echo appears as a tall, handsome Unicorn with a dark blue pelt and a wild, two-tone black and azure-blue mane and tail. His Cutie Mark depicted a red heart submerged underwater, surrounded by a halo of music notes. He has the Oceanaiads’ chest gem, ironically making him resemble a Musical Pony.

Post-Ascension, Echo is an eldritch god that vaguely resembles an Oceanaiad, with chimeric traits taken from various sea creatures like octopuses, crabs, and lionfish. Other eldritch traits include bioluminescent spots and patterns, fins made of Song energy, and multiple eyes. When in the surface world, he appears as an Alicorn with aquatic traits, along with a mane and tail made of Song energy, but isn’t a true one like much of his adoptive family.

In terms of attire, in contrast to the Greasers of his family, Echo is a Goth and thus wears dark clothes, leathers, and fishnets, with studded jewelry, belts, and foreleg braces. He also has various facial piercings. This applies to even his Pony forms when dressing casually. When he does wear divine barding, his preferred set is one with alien, eldritch designs created by N’ghft Vulgtmog artisans. When disguised as Dark Tide, he wears a set of ‘Henshin Hero’-like armor with blue designs and patterns, and aquatic motifs.

    Kthoryu, the Abyssal Queen

Classification: Elemental/Ethereal/Eldritch

Portfolio: Primordial Sea, Primal Fear, Dark Energy, Remorse

Rank: ???

"I have done countless things that would put me in Hell several times over. I dearly wish I could take them all back."

Queen Kthoryu (her entry here) is the ancient goddess of Primordial Sea, Primal Fear, Dark Energy, and Remorse, and is the benevolent founder and ruling matriarch of N'ghft Vulgtmog.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: She came to embody Remorse as a concept when she merged with Deep Song, gaining the ability to feel empathy for others and realizing how much her alien mindset in past eons had hurt countless innocents.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's an ancient goddess who embodies Primordial Sea, Primal Fear, Dark Energy, and Remorse. It's noted that she originally didn't possess Remorse until she fused with Deep Song, giving her the empathy for sapientkind that she and her kind previously lacked.
  • The Atoner: Tens of thousands of years on, she and her Oceanaiad followers are still trying to make up for the damage she and her family and chosen mortal race caused in the Third Age and before.
  • Barrier Warrior: As a goddess of Dark Energy, she can produce barriers made of Dark Energy.
  • Beam Spam: Kthoryu unleashed a colossal beam attack from her maw which wiped out an entire Autorist naval fleet.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Like the rest of the family, she possessed a strange mindset that could only be understood by herself, her family, or the mortal Oceanaiads that her parents created. It's deconstructed and played for drama - because she was so alien, she lacked the capacity of empathetic understanding for others and did not care about the deaths, destruction, and suffering she would cause others. Because of this, even other deities deemed her to be a threat, culminating in her defeat at the end of the Third Age. Once Deep Song approaches her and fuses with her to give her empathy, she finally understands what she had done, and the full truth drives her to tearful remorse. She has taken huge steps in atoning for her past, but in the process, she has developed a Guilt Complex over what she did, especially in the face of racial hatred that she and her kind receive from most of the world.
  • Cosmic Horror Story: She is effectively a major character of one until Deep Song fused with her. Now she is the Horrifying Hero of a Lovecraft Lite story.
  • Creepy Good: She is an Eldritch Abomination from beneath the waves who wishes to make up for the damage done to the world by her family. She could cause madness merely by existing, but ultimately just wants to do good.
  • Divine Parentage: She is one of many children of Father D'agah and Mother Huthi, divine Abyssal Ones who also created the Oceanaiads. She herself would become the biological mother of many of the Abyssal Princes, though in Deep Echo's case she's technically akin to a loving adoptive step-mother.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Like her parents Father D'agah and Mother Huthi, she is this, an impossibly alien and eldritch sea goddess who fundamentally could not understand what was not of herself, her family or their chosen children the Oceanaiads. Her Fusion Dance with Deep Song changed her on a mental level to something closer to other Sapients on Equus, but physically she is still an abomination which could drive people mad just by looking at her and being in her presence. It's noted her magic is rather alien in nature and can't be categorized by a light or dark magic correctly.
  • Emotion Bomb: As a goddess of Remorse, she can psychically inflict all the suffering and pain her target(s) has inflicted on others back onto them, forcing them to face their sins.
  • The Empath: As a goddess of Remorse, she can psychically sense remorse and understand if it's genuine or fake. This is how she was able to save the more repentant members of an Autorist fleet that stole valuable artifacts from her kingdom.
  • Energy Weapon: As a goddess of Dark Energy, she can fire devastating beams of it. As shown with the Autorist fleet she confronted, she can also create rains of destructive energy.
  • Expy: Going by her name, she is meant to be one to either Cthulhu or his daughter Cthylla, since she is an offspring of two older cosmic horrors. She is also one to Mother Hydra, wife of Father Dagon, given her existence as a deep sea goddess worshipped by a borderline-eldritch race, although in-universe the one closest to Mother Hydra in both name and implied appearance is her own mother, Huthi.
  • Fusion Dance: Kthoryu as she presently is was the result of the original Kthoryu fusing with a benevolent Oceanaiad named Deep Song, resulting in her gaining empathy, understanding, and a conscience to feel remorse for what she's done.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Her using her full power and eldritch form is this, as her true form is extremely destructive and detrimental to the sanity of those around her.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: Invoked. Her very appearance and presence could drive whole groups of mortals to insanity. An Autorist fleet self-destructed in violent madness and suicidal despair just from being in close proximity to her even before her actual attack blew them to pieces.
The fleet commander gazed in horror at both the leviathan and the oncoming destruction... and his mind snapped, leaving him an insane, laughing wreck as his ship was torn asunder by the rain of the eldritch horror. Across the fleet, his subordinate commanders are left likewise broken in their final moments. Some rocked under tables in gibbering terror like children. Others clasped their heads and howled in utter madness and despair as their minds shattered. A few calmly drew their sidearms and blew their brains out. As her presence washed over the fleet, most of the remaining crew across the ships descended into violent insanity as they saw their doom and what simply cannot be, tearing each other to piece in a bloody frenzy, while some threw themselves overboard just as the attacks struck, choosing death in the depths rather than the horror they face now at the surface.
  • Guilt Complex: Deconstructed. After gaining empathy for sapient life, she was horrified by what her eldritch family and mortal people had done in the Third Age, and she set off to redeem the Oceanaiads by teaching them empathy as well. While this did improve the Oceanaiads' reputation in the eyes of many, it's noted that she felt so guilty regarding her people's sins that she has continuously blamed herself for them, despite many people pointing out what she did before fusing with Deep Song couldn't have been committed by the same person. During a therapy session, Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya points out how her guilt complex is causing her to neglect herself and makes it quite clear that taking care of her own needs is not selfish at all.
Prince Canticum Lunae Cahaya: (to Queen Kthoryu) Yer Majesty, Ah understand yer pain regardin' what yer people did. Ah've screwed up many times mahself and Ah wish Ah could go back and fix 'em. Guilt's natural, and it's okay ta feel it. But ta dwell on yer mistakes fer a long time... that's like me focusin' on what mah other Pops did ta me as a kid. Or the survivors of the Third Age's end hatin' all the Oceanaiads just 'cause they're Oceanaiads. Slowly, ya start gettin' addicted ta those feelings, and eventually you'll fall in a rut that gets deeper n' deeper the longer ya stay in there.

That's why Ah say it's okay ta let go. Ta learn from yer mistakes and move on. While knowin' what yer people did is important, yer joy and wellbeing matters, too. It's not selfish ta want ta take care of yerself. Whatever Kthoryu did before that fusion or whatever, she's not you. And what yer people and yer parents chose ta do, it was their choice, not yers. Yer you, and ya always will be. All ya need ta do is figure out where ta take the next step... or the next swim, in this case.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Does this after gaining empathy and understanding to comprehend the mortal lives she and her family was hurting and realize what they did was horrible.
  • It's All About Me: Her previous Blue-and-Orange Morality mindset all boiled down to caring only about herself, her family, and mortal people; the rest of the world either doesn't exist or are only playthings for her kind.
  • Large and in Charge: She is absolutely colossal, the point of being the size of an island with tentacles which could toss a fleet of ships around. She is also the main goddess and ruler of a civilization of remorseful Oceanaiads.
  • Last of Their Kind: It's believed she's the last pureblooded Abyssal One, the rest having all perished in the Final Battle with them at the end of Third Age. Her children are all hybrids.
  • Lord of the Ocean: Gender-Inverted and Eldritch version. In Kthoryu's case, she is a goddess of the Primordial Sea, an embodiment of the oceans in their most primeval and therefore purest forms, which grants her greater strength and control over them then younger, more modern sea/ocean deities.
  • Lovecraftian Superpower:
    • As an 'Abyssal One', her power is vaguely understood; notably, it is fueled by Dark Mana, which is not Dark Magic, but rather the magical equal of Dark Matter and/or Dark Energy. The nature of Dark Mana is so alien that it is only observable via its passive effects on the things around it. It is still being heavily researched, and it's believed that Dark Mana is the reason why her temple/palace has strange, eldritch qualities. Her domain of Dark Energy gives her powerful anti-gravity abilities, but otherwise the full scope of it is unknown due to difficulty in observing it.
    • Her domains of Primordial Sea and Primal Fear are also Lovecraftian, to a lesser degree. Being a goddess of Primordial Sea means that her powers are 'purer' and more potent compared to normal Sea deities, making her incredibly dangerous. Her domain of Primal Fear generally revolves around thalassophobia, the fear of oceans and/or deep bodies of water, though she is able to invoke other primal fears depending on her targets.
  • Lovecraft Lite: An eldritch goddess from beneath the seas gains empathy and understanding of other races through a Fusion Dance with a remorseful member of their mortal children and decides to become good (by other races' standards) and atone for it.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Abyssal Queen", due to being the divine ruler of the deep sea kingdom of N'ghft Vulgtmog. If Vicearch Iniquitous is to be believed, she is alternatively called "Sovereign of the Depths" and "the Redeemer of Sirenkind".
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Fusing with Deep Song filled Kthoryu with empathy, wisdom, and knowledge for other beings beyond her immediate family and made her realize how much harm they had caused to others at the end of the Third Age and before that. She was not happy about it in the slightest.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Being a colossal eldritch sea goddess and the daughter of two 'Abyssal Ones' means that she could wipe out whole fleets (like what she did with the Autorist fleet that stole many powerful artifacts that could wreak havoc if misused) and drive entire groups of mortals mad just by appearing. During the cataclysms that ended the Third Age, it took several divine pantheons as well as an entire army of Crystal Titans to bring her down. One drabble implies that she could be comparable to Vicearch Iniquitous in terms of sheer power, to the point where both their respective children were nervous about a potential fight between them; thankfully, this never happened. It's deconstructed; because deities get Stronger with Age, she is immensely powerful, which means that she frequently has to restrain herself to only use her full power in absolutely dire situations to avoid collateral damage.
  • Rape and Revenge: Double Subverted. She tracked down the Dolphin Clan that brutalized and raped Deep Song, who is now part of her... to offer them a Last-Second Chance after psychically forcing them to experience the suffering they've inflicted on others. She forgave and spared the ones who repented and showed genuine remorse for their actions. Those that didn't, however, faced her wrath.
  • Supernatural Fear Inducer: As a goddess of Primal Fear, she can project an aura of primordial terror, inflicting thalassophobia (fear of the ocean or deep bodies of water in general) on those affected by it. She can also make people hallucinate their own primal fears. In her avatar form, this is signaled by her bioluminescent patches glowing with a baleful 'deadlight'. In her true form, her domain is potent enough to drive weak-willed creatures insane.
  • Villainous BSoD: Deep Song fusing with her gave her the ability to empathize with and understand beings that aren't her family, resulting in her developing a conscience and ability to actually feel guilt. This leads to her Heel–Face Turn.

Queen Schöneitel, the Queen of Mirrors

Classification: Ascendant

Portfolio: Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, Mirrors

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate; resembles a "Greater"-ranked deity)

Affiliation: Filii Festi (main), Shadowpact Pantheon

"Let the mirror on the wall, reveal yourself warts and all."

Queen Schöneitel (her entry here) is the Alicorn goddess of Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors, and is a villainous adoptee from the lost empire of Aschenputtel.
  • Adoption Angst: Her first adoptive parents, the ruling King and Queen of an Aschenputtel sub-kingdom she hailed from, were less than stellar. In addition to making her act like a pure and virtuous yet submissive damsel who relied on males to protect her, they also groomed her to fulfill a prophecy where she would become a great heroine who confronted a "great darkness" to protect Aschenputtel.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's an Alicorn goddess who embodies Queens, Vanity, Sorcery, and Mirrors.
  • The Archmage: Schöneitel is described as one of the most powerful and magically-inclined Filii Festi members, and for good reason.

  • Classic Villain:
  • Color Motif:
    • Gray.
    • White.

  • Create Your Own Villain: She would not have become the evil goddess and Queen she is today if Aschenputtel hadn't tried to push her into a restrictive, sexist role with no deviation and
  • Evil Counterpart: To the Aschenputtel Trio, especially Princess Royal Grace.

And like her adoptive mother and her more vain siblings, she can be jealous towards those who are more beautiful or talented than her, lashing out at them in a manner not unlike other wicked Queens… though given her role as a tester, it may be part of an act that she puts up. She also has different views on evil due to being part of a Third Age family, though not much.

As a goddess of Sorcery, Schöneitel is a powerful Sorceress, though she specifically embodies sorcery as depicted in fairytales. Like evil witches and Queens, she is incredibly skilled in the dark arts, capable of transformation spells, potion-making, and various rituals, charms, curses, and hexes. When combined with her domain of Mirrors, she can use mirrors to perform spells of Divination and Scrying, being exceptionally talented in Catoptromancy (divination by mirrors). She can also summon, bind, and command powerful spirits and other beings to do her bidding, whether it be Archdemons, Elementals, or even celestial beings like Angels. At her peak, she can reduce entire kingdoms and realms to smoking craters within short periods of time. She can also create Familiars, and has an eidetic memory on the spells she learned or created herself.

  • Face–Heel Turn:
  • The Fighting Narcissist: She's an utterly vain goddess with such a huge ego
  • Freudian Excuse: Her vain character was largely influenced by
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: While hardly a "Nobody", Schöneitel originated as the daughter of a noble family from one of the Aschenputtel Empire's sub-kingdoms until its rulers came and adopted her, attracted by her potential. Years of indoctrination and witnessing her people's corruption left her increasingly embittered until she lashed out in a spectacular way, unwittingly dooming her home to destruction at the hooves of Queen Eclaira.

One reason why she is Stronger Than They Look stems from her eating Filii Festi half-siblings and her own divine and Semi-Divine children who went astray.

Schöneitel

  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Justified; Schöneitel was raised in the Aschenputtel Empire, whose people were obsessed with fairytales to the point of shunning anything and/or anyone they deemed "evil", while indoctrinating others to become heroic archetypes without any deviations from their roles. Even if she had become disillusioned with the ideals Aschenputtel claimed to follow, she found the idea of becoming a villainess abhorrent due to what she was taught, despite wishing to punish those heroes and damsels who became morally corrupt. Fortunately, with help from Luminiferous, Speedwagon, and others, she cast aside this mindset and embraced being a

While it's a stretch to call her "good" as she had become quite spoiled and vain by that point, she found the very idea of becoming a villainess abhorrent because it went against her previous notions about good and evil, even if she did want to punish the corrupt heroes of Aschenputtel

  • Good Wings, Evil Wings:
  • The High Queen: Due to Aschenputtel's Black-and-White Morality and obsession Beauty Equals Goodness, Schöneitel was expected to succeed her deceased royal adoptive parents as the pure, virtuous Queen of her sub-kingdom. Unfortunately, their hopes were utterly shattered when Schöneitel, boiling with resentment over her indoctrination and her people's moral corruption, angrily cursed them to physically resemble their worst inner selves on her coronation day. Horrified by what she had done, she fled and abandoned her throne altogether, while dooming her sub-kingdom (and the wider Aschenputtel Empire) to destruction at the hooves of a wandering Queen Eclaira. Schöneitel proceeded to move even further away from her people's expectations when, encouraged by Luminiferous, Speedwagon, Eclaira, and others, she chose to become a villainous Queen instead so she can test mortals and punish corrupt heroes for their misdeeds.
  • Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted.
  • Internal Affairs: Implied to have such a role among the Filii Festi. She grew immensely powerful from eating half-siblings and her own children who went astray and had to be contained.
  • Lady of Black Magic: She is a cultured and refined yet utterly vain goddess with an ego so big, she outfiitted her dresses with mirrors, and had a palace of mirrors built just for her.

As a goddess of Mirrors, Schöneitel can turn herself into a reflective surface to counter and redirect certain attacks, and travel through reflective surfaces like mirrors. She can also use mirrors to create mirror duplicates and far-reaching attacks, and show reflections of what people could be at their best and worst. One of her most terrifying abilities involves imprisoning people within mirrors, used to punish those she deemed wanting. While trapped within her mirrors, Schöneitel’s victims are drained in beauty and vitality; this technically counts as devourment since her mirrors are intrinsically part of her. She can also kill people within mirrors, making her important in combating mirror-based monsters. It’s this domain that made her as powerful and eldritch as she is now, having absorbed kingdoms, realms, and even pantheons wholesale through mirrors.

Embodies Sorcery as one of her Domains and shares this trait with many of her half-siblings, being very vain herself.
