"Official TASKFORCE No. 13. A private military company that has been active since the early days after the mess of the Administration Failure was cleared up. According to recent audit data, it was acquired by an unknown investor."

    In General
  • Almighty Janitor: Despite looking like a simple mercenary company with money problems, they are actually a fully sanctioned Administration company with multiple Qliphoth users and money problems.
  • Cool Ship: By the time Machine G.A.P. bails the company out, the Coffin is their only remaining ship (as they had sold off all their other ships to stay afloat).
    • Sometime prior to End of the Maze, the acquire Pegasus. since most of the world has to use bulky Dimensional Ships, its implied this is secret Administration technology.
    • In End of the Maze, Coffin-6 is an Ark: a ship with the ability to dive space-time and to a different world. It's also known as the Coffin of Thagirion, because it's keeping that Demon Lord from appearing in the Normalside.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Administration Complete reveals that the CEO's flagrant violations for the sake of saving the world from the Qliphoth Game has caused the company to be blacklisted by the Administration, such that they've become pariahs instead of heroes.
  • Meaningful Name: Coffin Company's only initial ship is the Coffin, and they were on their last legs until Machine G.A.P. bailed them out and Hilde returned. It also refers to the Coffins the Old Administration used to both cryosleep their employees and keep the Demon Lords from awakening.
    • Fenrir refers to Norse Mythology, the legendary wolf who at Ragnarok breaks their chains and kills Odin.
    • ALT Squad refers to themselves as Coffin's Number Two. They are also injected with the Alternative Factors as opposed to the Replacer Factors.
    • Eddie Squad is named after Eddie Fisher, who brought them together in Orca's Side Story. It's also to honor him, as he doesn't survive that Side Story.

Management

    The CEO/Machine G.A.P.

Terrabrain GAP-166774

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/machine_gap.png
"This is the culmination of the most cutting-edge science and technology! Machine G.A.P! Please see the homepage on how to purchase the product."
Voiced by: KR: () JP: Takehito Koyasu
The Coffin Company's newest asset that the Fenrir Squad rescues right after Yoo Mina's arrival turns out to be Machine G.A.P., an egotistical robot who had bought out the majority of the company's shares. Everyone suspects rather heavily that G.A.P. is being remote-controlled by someone, but in general the members of the company roll with G.A.P. as their CEO since it saved them from insolvency. You take the role of G.A.P., or the person controlling it.
  • Almighty Janitor: He's a hunk of junk that somehow bought a company and became its CEO! And he's probably being driven around by the company's actual buyer.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In Left Behind Alone, a Giant G.A.P. appears when Sigma needs it, and she continually uses it afterward as her Ultimate.
  • Badass Boast: He calls himself the "culmination of the most cutting edge science and technology". The Administrator notes that Machine G.A.P. was only possible through the sacrifices of countless people from countless Worldlines.note
  • Chuunibyou: G.A.P. Dark tells Lone Lee that he's a "cold, dangerous son of darkness". This might be a Call-Back to when a version of Lin Xien called the CEO a "boss of the darkness" in Last blooming days on the campus.
  • Featureless Protagonist: He is a black box with projectors on the side that allows it to have a 'face'. While he's voiced by male actors in both Korean and Japanese, Gaeun's Counter Case confirms that said voice is synthesized.
  • Funny Robot: His proclivities, ego, and appearance set up many amusing moments.
  • The Gadfly: He seems to love riling people up all the time. Considering it's the CEO's mouthpiece, this naturally extends to him as well.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]: You name the CEO in a rather cryptic sequence at the start of the game, but in the main story Machine G.A.P. is seen as the CEO and demands to be referred to as such. Later events force the CEO to come out of the shadows more often.
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • The Dark Seven group and Lone Lee call him "G.A.P. Dark" (or just "Dark").
    • Brownie Moore knows him as "Indiana G.A.P".
    • Lily calls him "Black Lunchbox".
    • During Frozen Corridors, Regina, Sylkie, Agnes, and Rivet know him as "G.A.P. Bird". The event's trophy mentions that Regina keeps a broken device of him in her mansion's study.
  • Insistent Terminology: Machine G.A.P. is not a robot! Machine G.A.P. is just that, a confluence of mighty science and technology!
  • Large Ham: He is one at all times. The CEO also has his moments.
  • Meaningful Name: A "Gap" is a superior in a contract or business relationship.
  • Only in It for the Money: He consistently insists that he values money highly, and he is all too happy to engage in ostentatious displays of wealth.
  • Overly Long Name: Its original name is World Administration 1st Management Agent Tech Level 6 Monolith Type Terrabrain Grand Architecture Provisor - No. 166774.
  • Papa Wolf: Sigma's Ultimate summons "Machine G.O.D. Daddy" to fight alongside her.
  • Robosexual: Played for Laughs. His egotism is so strong he basically becomes the second coming of Narcissus. Frozen Corridors implies it's more of an artistic taste with cube-shaped sculptures rather than anything explicitly sexual.
  • Series Mascot:
  • Tin-Can Robot: Machine G.A.P., the mighty confluence of science and technology, is a black cuboid robot with stereotypical pincher arms and a height of four feet, if that. It's also an interface for Hive Control hidden behind the Coffin Company CEO's office, which is its true function.

Tropes pertaining to the Administrator (Unmarked spoilers below!)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/administrator_6.png
A key figure in the Old Administration conspiracy theory. The one said to be a survivor of the highest level of the Old Administration, the organization that caused the Administration Failure, and is mentioned as behind all sorts of conspiracy theories. All personal information such as race, gender, name and age is unknown.

In actuality, the character directing Machine G.A.P., and thus you, are none other than the Supreme Administrator of the Old Administration. You have assumed command of Coffin in order to accomplish your objectives, with G.A.P. as your interface to the outside world and your link to deep, powerful secrets...

  • The Alleged Boss:
    • Despite being the CEO of Coffin Company, he spends more time fooling around and interacting with his employees than actually doing work.
    • Despite being the founder and highest-ranking member of the Administration, he doesn't involve himself much in it other than occasionally use it's authority. It can be justified s the Administration being created to help the world against Corrupted Objects rather than actually being used to win the Qliphoth Game.
  • Ambiguously Human: He is the seemingly ageless founder of the Old Administration who is immune to Corruption Raysnote  and in an intimate relationship with a literal god.
    • During Episode 7, he is also somehow able to communicate with Shiyoon in an Afterlife Antechamber.
    • He is implied to have cognitive-affecting powers, as several characters find it odd they can't remember his appearance.
  • Ambiguously Related: In Cho Hojin's Counter Case, Sooyeon likens the Administrator going through the Counter Case to him "peeping at his daughter's diary", which may or may not imply that she sees Mina as one of his daughters. His scene with Tammiel in the epilogue of Episode 10 also has shades of a tense custody battle over Mina.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He intentionally leaked the design schematics of the Black Hole Drive so that Delta Seven could upgrade Enterprise to counter the Replacer Syndicate's New Ohio.
    • He's also implied to be the one who tipped off the Zodiac Knights about the Official Support being ambushed by members of the Replacer Syndicate.
  • Big Good: Humanity would've been wiped out long ago without his help, which he continues to provide even in the current Worldline.
  • Black-and-Grey Morality:
  • The Chessmaster: He seems to have countless plans and contingencies. The end of Episode 8 implies that every single event that has involved the Coffin Company and the various other factions up to that point had more or less been accounted for in his overall plan.
  • Chick Magnet: Many of the female employees' Lifetime Contracts more or less imply an affection ranging from ambiguous to very clear. Gaeun's fourth Counter Case shows her being very smitten with the CEO (she was under the effect of an enchanted bunny suit that brings out her hidden feelings), Hana admits to finding his habits cute in the epilogue of Devil and Bartender, Alex calls him out on acting oblivious to Lyudmilla's affections for him in Carnival, and certain lines imply that Sooyeon finds him talking with other girls very irritating. Sooyeon lampshades this in Left Behind Alone, snarking that he's "a womanizer with a daughter" after he thinks that fatherhood suits him.
  • Consummate Liar: He has explicitly lied to Sooyeon, his closest aide in his inner circle, as part of his plan to win Nehemoth's Qliphoth Game, which casts doubt on everything else he's said to everyone (possibly even himself).
    • Deconstructed in Administration Complete: the six Class 2 Administrators revoke his Supreme Administrator status partly because he can no longer be trusted to keep his word and not make the Administration a huge hypocrite, so now he has to regain the trust of at least four of them to get his authority back before it's finalized.
  • Determinator: Hilde, Rosaria, and Tammiel all express admiration for his refusal to let humanity perish.
  • Didn't See That Coming:
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Tammiel's presence at the end of Nehemoth's Qliphoth Game virtually paralyzes almost every single character in the vicinity, including his fellow Demon Lords; the only two exceptions are Na Yubin (who just killed him) and the Administrator. The latter not only has a tense staredown with her but also reprimands her for wanting to touch Mina during the Game she authorized.
    • In Rosaria's Lifetime Contract, he tells her to "come back when she's older", prompting her fury. Her Awakened form doesn't fare much better, with him noting no difference in height whether she's sitting down or standing up.
  • Easy Amnesia: A combination of cryosleep and "spacetime recalibration" has done a number on his memory. The Framing Device of Administration Failure is him using the Terrabrain for one of its main purposes: restoring and sorting out his memory in this space-time frame of reference.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep":
    • His inner circle of Coffin employees call him "Boss".
    • Members of the Administration (Old and current) call him "Administrator" or "Supreme Administrator".
  • Expy: To the Doctor from Arknights, so much that it would be easier to list the differences.
    • The Doctor's greater mission currently encompasses a whole planet, while the Administrator's greater mission encompasses multiple dimensions.
    • Unlike the Doctor having numerous moments of player-chosen dialogue, the Administrator only has one such moment across the first two main story arcs (his face-to-face meeting with Kim Hana in the very first scene of the game), having been an independent character in all other scenes. Notably, player-chosen dialogue reappears in Administration Complete, where he can no longer predict events.
    • The Doctor specializes in Xanatos Speed Chess, while the Administrator prefers arranging events towards an optimal outcome.
    • The Doctor has no problem in hot temperatures (and even pours boiling-hot water in their mouth to cook instant noodles), while the Administrator isn't uncomfortable in cold environments.
  • Face Framed in Shadow: Whenever he's physically shown, his short hair and the upper half of his head tend to be concealed in shadow. Humorously, he also appears this way in one of the loading screen comics.
  • The Faceless: The game is especially careful about not showing his full face, leaving plenty of room for interpretation. Alex's "Lethal Guardian" skin has a framed photo of him on one of the shelves behind her in her Live2D portrait, but a streak of light reflecting off the glass cover conveniently obscures his face.
  • Featureless Protagonist: Subverted. While he has the appearance of a businessman, the only explicit details about him are his light skin, his tall height, his rather thin frame, his short hair, and his clean-shaven face. Sigma calls him "Daddy", but their "family relationship" is decidedly unusual. Kim Hana is surprised by his handsome looks when she was picking him up from the airport, and Eins and Zwei call him "Brother" when they meet him in person, confirming that he at least appears male.
  • The Fog of Ages: He has been jumping Worldlines for so long that even many of his most precious memories have faded away. The main reason he can still remember is due to time capsules like the Terrabrain hidden in a secret room behind the Coffin Company CEO's office and the camcorder in "Last blooming days on the campus".
  • Grester Scope Paragon
  • Handicapped Badass: Played with. Due to spacetime recalibration he has suffered memory loss and several grievous injuries. Gaeun's Counter Case mentions him not looking athletic, and in Episode 2 Sooyeon comments on how his injuries haven't healed. This seems to be abandoned in his later appear
  • Has a Type: In "Left Behind Alone", he almost outs his preferences to Sooyeon, but catches himself.
Lee Sooyeon: By the way, I didn't know you were interested in this sort of role play. You made her yourself, huh? My goodness!
CEO: W-what are you talking about? If you ask me, I prefer more...
    Lee Sooyeon: You prefer... what?
    CEO: Ugh, forget it.
    • In her "Blossoming Desire" skin, an utterly obsessive version of Shin Jia mentions that she made her outfit according to his apparent tastes, if she can be taken at her word.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite being a seemingly amoral and meticulous Chessmaster who is doing anything to win, he still has traits that confirm him as Not So Above It All.
    • He takes Sigma's insistence at calling him "Daddy" in stride. In the ending of "Administration Complete", he outright tells Mina and Noelle that he considers Sigma his daughter.
    • Awakened Units and post-Lifetime Contract lines mention him asking his employees to cook him food.
    • He not only developed all the female uniforms of the Old Administration but also the outfits of Replacer Queen, Awakened Sooyeon, and Awakened Mina. All those eye-catching designs are thus his handiwork.
      • There's also the "stuff" Lin Xien found while rifling through his desk drawers for "security purposes".
      • Maestra Nequitia's "Wedding Harmony" skin (which is basically bridal lingerie) notes that he picked out the dress for her.
    • Replacer Rook's dialogue reveals that he often hums and tells stories of his past to her.
    • He created Street Counter, Kim Chulsoo's favorite game.
    • "First Lesson" is mostly about him teaching life lessons to Eins and Zwei, showing that he actually is good with kids.
    • Several Unit's Lifetime Contracts have him be much more emotional than usually shown in Mainstream episodes.
  • Hikikomori: In "Administration Complete", a recording of his previous self mentions that he "dislikes going outside".
  • I Have Many Names: He is also known as "Old Voice" to the Prydwen Institution (which Edel confirms in her Lifetime Contract), "Principal" to the students of his Counter Academy (as seen in "Last blooming days on the campus"), and "Sage" to the Knights of Redemption and the Seeker of Truth (which he tells Shiyoon in Episode 7).
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • Gaeun calls him "Teacher" ("Sensei" in the Japanese script).
    • Sigma calls him "Daddy".
    • Eins and Zwei call him "Brother".
    • Sysop calls him "Father".
    • Tammiel calls him "My love".
    • Discussed by Edel in her Lifetime Contract; she's not sure what to call him because she knows about some of his many names, but she settles on "Boss".
    • One of Gabriel Jun's post-Lifetime Contract lines is him wanting to call the CEO "Michael the Hellkite", only to be rebuffed. Despite that, he apparently told Raphaela to use it, too.
    • Agnes calls G.A.P. Bird "cutie-pie", which he considers the most awkward nickname he's heard. When recruited, she also calls the CEO "cutie".
    • Canary Squad call him "Coach".
  • Last Stand: In "End of the Maze", he admits that his ability to transfer the Arks has been disrupted to the point where he now can only hope to use them to weaken the Demon Lords' strength rather than jump to another timeline to prepare.
    • Episode 10 reveals that this is a lie, because telling the truth would ruin the real plan: use the Arks to delay the Qliphoth Game as long as possible, seal Hilde's power and memories, and subject Mina to the most hellish conditions possible to get stronger, because the Mina of this Worldline has the best potential to win the Qliphoth Games and kill Tammiel.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The recordings left by the Administrator in Administration Failure and Administration Complete makes you wonder if they are actually adressed to his future self, or the player. It doesn't help that these are some of the only moments where he employs Cryptic Conversation (where it's situation one shouldn't).
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: In "End of the Maze", he coolly shows Doppelganger Lyudmila that he's not just a lowly technician.
    CEO: "I suppose you don't think I'm a threat?"
Doppelganger Lyudmila: Engineer? But you're not even a combat operative!
CEO: Ah, but everyone from the Old Administration knows... technology is true might. Ark... No, Administration Flagship No.6, Coffin of Thagirion. Full reactivation is authorized.
Supreme Administrator authorization confirmed. Orders received. Twin Black Hole Drive output at maximum. Integrated tactical defense network back online. Activating all available assets of the Administration.
  • Magnetic Hero: He makes allies over the course of the stories, including some former antagonists, represented in gameplay by recruiting new playable units.
  • The Man Behind the Man: He founded and led the Old Administration.
  • Memento Macguffin: The camcorder that Official Support finds in "Last blooming days on the campus" is revealed to be another of his time capsules.
  • Mirror Character: He has striking similarities to Tammiel. Both are tall, brown-haired, formally dressed human(like) beings who have Astral Projection powers, suffered grievous injuries, and are the leaders of their respective sides.
  • My Greatest Failure: He is deeply traumatized by his decision to wait until the dimensional storms passed instead of setting out immediately to save the version of Yoo Mina in "Last blooming days on the campus" (the Student President of a Counter Academy he himself headed) after she was pulled into the Counterside by a Category 4 C.O. When Lyudmila was fighting her Doppelganger to save her comrades and Veronica was looking for Mone, he tells them to act immediately while reminiscing about his students.
    • It's also implied that his dismantling of the Replacer Syndicate was partly motivated by them killing Eddie before the CEO could recruit him.
  • Mythical Motifs: He has many parallels to Odin from Norse Mythology: both are the Big Good, have a mischievous streak, are The Chessmaster with an Omniscient Morality License, tend to conceal their eyes, are temporarily banished from their position, and have a woman searching after them.
    • It's hard not to compare him to Zeus, with all his constant Seducing of various female employees.
  • Non-Action Guy: He has access to all of the Old Administration's codes and abilities at his hands and can hack and redirect any of the necessary protocols, but he's absolutely worthless in a fight and points out that he should never be on the front lines.
  • No One Sees the Boss: Episode 10 confirms that he was invoking this within the Coffin Company by using Machine G.A.P. as his remote-controlled proxy. He also invoked this when he was the Administrator; in "End of the Maze", Lyudmila is greatly surprised to be meeting him in person as she considered his existence to be an urban legend, and he also mentions that Sooyeon's first response when he revealed himself to her was a swift kick to his shin (that still gets sore whenever it rains). This is no longer the case after he reveals himself in front of everyone in the wake of Tammiel's appearance and departure.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Awakened Na Yubin as a unit makes several of these statements towards the Administrator. And he's right: the Administrator knew Nehemoth's Ark was corrupted when he arranged for Mina's encounter with Ray at the Counter Academy, and he laid out the framework for the Replacer Syndicate.
  • Older Than He Looks: His young looks are frequently remarked on by people who see him for the first time. "Last blooming days on the campus" implies that he has been jumping worlds for at least 560 years; the camcorder that contained his oldest known memory is explicitly dated at 4,970,000 hours old.note
  • Omniscient Morality License: The success of this timeline came at the cost of countless others, and he is fully aware of it.
  • Out-of-Character Moment: Despite not raising their voice even when confronting Tammiel, he does so when he finds out that the Seeker intends to consume the Dragon Blood.
  • The Promise: Episode 10 reveals that he promised Tammiel that he would kill her.
CEO: I made a vow to you, in the first world... that I would kill you.
  • Reclining Reigner: His first "onscreen" appearance in Episode 4 Interlude 6 shows him propping up an elbow to recline on the armrest of his chair.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Chessmaster to Hilde's Leeroy Jenkins.
  • Renaissance Man: He has skills in various technological fields, software, cooking, corruption biology, fashion, knitting, model-making, teaching, psychology, strategy, music, and many others.
  • Seen It All: Invoked by Sooyeon during the climactic battle in "End of the Maze", which the CEO confirms with regret.
    • Zigzagged in "Administration Complete": he allowed every event up to Nehemoth's defeat (including every tragedy) to play out as intended, but the future beyond that victory is an entirely new frontier to him.note
  • Series Continuity Error: Despite being unaffected in the freezing Counterside wearing nothing but a suit, Regina and Orochinagi Chifuyu's Lifetime Contracts mention him getting sick very easily from cold temperatures.note
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: He's always wearing a sharp business suit when he appears in person.
  • Ship Tease: A fair number of scenes and Counter Cases show various female characters being attracted to him. Lone Lee is a unique case, as she finds herself falling for his G.A.P. Dark persona in "Fateful Summer" and "Vice President's Holidays" even before she sees the CEO in her Lifetime Contract.
  • Supporting Leader: He brings many different splintered groups together for his plans, though tends to stay in the backseat.
  • Supporting Protagonist: While he is both the Player Character and the Big Good and the story is told from his point of view, the one at the forefront is The Hero, Yoo Mina.
  • Techno Wizard: All Old Administration tech can be traced back to him, including dimensional ships, Watches, and Artifacts. He even invented many of the Awakened units' equipment.
    • In Episode 6, Mina mentions that her Nano Combat Jacket Droma (which the CEO created for her) has the function of deconstructing itself down to the molecular level. Shiyoon decides not to dwell on this information when he learns of it, for his sanity's sake.
    • In "Unbreakable Flowers", he manages to fit a two-way communicator, a poison neutralizer, and several other features into a card.note
  • Walking Spoiler: The mystery of the Administrator is one of the game's Driving Questions, which is why this whole section is unmarked and placed directly below Machine G.A.P.'s section.
  • Wham Episode: The epilogue of Episode 10 reveals that the Qliphoth Games are more akin to a lover's dispute between the Administrator and Tammiel, with the winner getting custody of Mina.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: At the end of Episode 10, Hilde expects an explanation from him after finding out that he turned Lyudmila into a Demogorgon-type Shadow.
    • "Administration Complete" shows Renée raking him over the coals for his many violations jeopardizing the Administration's credibility, culminating in all six Senior Administrators agreeing to suspend his Supreme Administrator privileges.

A former apprentice of Hilde, Sooyeon is the founder and current Vice President of the Coffin Company. She was the acting CEO until Machine G.A.P. became CEO.
  • Badass Boast: In "End of the Maze", she gives one to Sollicitatio:
"Let me tell you something. Humans aren't capable of facing off against anything above Category 4 in the first place. But reality isn't all about numbers and categories. Which means, unless you get out of my face this instant... (activates Awakened form) I'll make sure you get a taste of what the ace of the Old Administration is capable of."
  • Coat Cape: Drapes over her suit. She still keeps it even in her Awakened form.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Played for Laughs. In Vice President's Holidays, each and every plan for her relaxation ends up foiled, causing Machine G.A.P to blame it on the Demon Lords.
  • Cutting Corners: She's known for being a penny-pincher to the point of sometimes failing to properly restock snacks in the office. It's understandable at the start of the game when Coffin Company was barely staying afloat, but even when they have more money to work with, she's still rather tight-fisted to the point where her electing to give the White Rabbit Club financial support without argument led to the CEO questioning if she was okay (he later decided she was, after Sooyeon stated that she wanted them to do TASKFORCE work in return).
  • Da Chief: One of the most reasonable and experienced individuals left in Coffin Company. It's implied that her leadership was the only thing keeping the company from going into bankruptcy.
  • Dynamic Entry: As with all Awakened units. Hers probably takes the cake: she flies across the screen and deals damage to the entire field before appearing.
  • Expy: Her appearance and Awakened form are based heavily on Hassan and Rosetta from Punishing: Gray Raven, respectively. Her personality takes after Kal'tsit from Arknights.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Has an eyepatch over her right eye. She lost her eye twenty years ago during the Qliphoth Game while defending against Category 6 C.O.s.
  • Feeling Their Age: While she hasn't lost her touch, "End of the Maze" has her noting that she's a bit winded after using her new gear once and that she's not as young as she used to be.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: She forcefully rebukes any claims that she and the CEO are in a relationship.
  • I Hate Past Me: Her opinion on her younger self. When the latter appears in the second Summer event, the former is conflicted in trying to restrict her or put her in her place.
  • I Owe You My Life: One of the reasons she decides to take on the Knights of Redemption alone in Episode 9 os because of an unsepcified event where "Yoo Mina" of Fenrir Division saved her life.
  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Despite her high status, she still considers Hilde on a higher level.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her twenty years of maturing and losing her naivete, she still has the same personality as her younger self; in the "End of the Maze" side story, when she finally sees battle, she wonders whether she should be calling her attacks.
  • Older and Wiser: Shows cases of it compared to her younger half, most of the time.
  • Promoted to Playable: Played With. Her younger self was first made playable as a Striker. Her current self was later made playable in two forms: first as an Operator, and then as an Awakened Ranger.
  • Razor Wings: What her new combat suit provides.
  • Red Baron: "Ace of Wings".
  • Retired Badass: Was once Hilde's squadmate and apprentice, but an incident caused her to retire from the battlefield.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: "Vice President's Holidays" opens with a CG of the CEO entering her room and finding her with only a bedsheet for cover.
  • That Man Is Dead: She considers her old self to have died once already in the Administration Failure.

The secretary and Director of Management of Coffin Company. She also handles Partner Cards in the Dorm.

  • The Alcoholic: Known for drinking more than she lets on. Her bio implies that this is one of the reasons she fears becoming an Old Maid.
  • Exact Eavesdropping:
  • The Heart: She is often the most optimistic and kindest of the Coffin Company employees.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: While she's in a drunken stupor in the epilogue of "Gremory's Bar", Gremory's words make her consider if it's worth trying to go for a Relationship Upgrade with the CEO... Machine G.A.P. Then again, this might just be Hana invoking this to keep the CEO's true identity from being exposed.
  • Kicked Upstairs: Sort of. The lack of staffing in Coffin Company gave her a promotion to Director of Management, while she still has to do her secretary work as well.
  • Love Epiphany: Nicole mentions that Hana ordered nine cocktails in a row after Gremory's love advice (to confess her feelings to the CEO), implying that Hana had come to a realization.
  • Mr. Vice Guy: She frequently alludes to her drinking, implied to be much heavier than she says. "Gremory's Bar" shows that she tends to only drink a little but gets drunk easily, which snowballs into drinking a lot.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She tells Gremory that she expects a guy who's as good as her coworkers, listing off Mina, Sooyeon, and finally the CEO.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That: When Gremory tells her that there's nothing wrong with being in love with a robot, Hana's reply that she "convinced herself that the robot is a man" is implied to actually be this.

  • Chuunibyou: Believes heavily in special charms and occultic rituals.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Even her more typical dialogue tends to give way to a more scatterbrained personality.
  • Shoutout: Carries a Death Note.
  • Snake Oil Salesman: Sells charms and divinity tools to anyone around her.
  • This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: Her Command Skill applies Barrier removal and Sleep, both of which are either easily removed or better on characters rather than an Operator. However, her kit is surprisingly useful against the Inhibitor Raid boss, as her effects weaken the Wall that defends Inhibitor.

"Everyone, Apocalypse is here at the sea. You will visit us here, right? (music note)"
A part-timer at Apocalypse, Coffin Company's convenience store. Good yet clumsy at her job.
  • Friendly Shopkeeper: She appears in the Shop menu.
  • Promoted to Playable: She became a playable Operator alongside the event "Vice President's Holidays".
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: When she introduces herself in the tutorial, she says that her very frilly dress is the most normal and plain outfit she owns. In "Vice President's Holidays", Lara is upset that Serina made her do incorrect deliveries (sending a vacuum cleaner instead of garbage bags and grabbers for Roy Burnett, a volleyball instead of a parasol for Esterosa, and a key to a submarine instead of swim rings for Kang and Yumi). It's heavily implied that her manager has been exasperated with her ever since he hired her.
  • Serious Business: She is very determined at trying to get her promotion at Apocalypse from seasonal part-time intern to... part-time employee.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Her Command Skill lets her remove all non-permanent buffs from enemies and prevents new ones for up to 14 seconds.
  • Supreme Chef: Played for Laughs. One of her lines has her bragging about her ability to cook mac and cheese... from the box following its instructions.

Director of Coffin Company's Corrupted Object Research Lab. Her real name is Park Jeongja.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: One of the world's leading experts on Corruption, but any time she needs to do any work, she pushes it onto Yoonjung instead.
  • Expy: May be an expy of Himari from Blue Archive, as both are not-so-crippled geniuses with narcissistic personalities.
  • Genius Cripple: Subverted. She's mobile enough to perform strenuous exercise, with no sign of any illness or disability that necessitates her wheelchair and IV drip.
  • The Medic: As an operator.
  • Narcissist: Frequently mentions how pretty and smart she is.
  • Too Important to Walk: The reason she uses a wheelchair despite having no apparent disabilities. That, and laziness.
  • Tranquil Fury: Mentioning her real name will have her respond simply that she doesn't know who that is, after which she will attempt to leave the lab for a walk.

  • Beleaguered Assistant: Played for Laughs. She does literally all of Olivie's work, to the point where it's hard to pinpoint when she last had any sleep at all and is running solely on caffeine.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Not surprisingly, she looks like she hasn't slept in days, given that her boss always has some sort of work with a strict deadline to dump on her.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Noted in-universe that her average caffeine intake would destroy the average person, yet she shows no side effects thanks to her genetics.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: It's said that she used to be energetic and full of life in her university days before she became Olivie's assistant.
  • Writing Around Trademarks: She has two Red Bull cans with no logos attached to her holster.

  • Disappeared Dad: Titan's last Counter Case reveals that her father was mortally wounded when Future-at-War's research labs were raided.
  • Mundane Utility: She uses her Counter powers to move heavy machinery around.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: She used to work under Olivie, but the latter's narcissist tendencies caused her to switch to mechanical engineering.

Rarity: SSR, SSR (Operator), ASSR
Command Skill: Overclock Matrix (Defender > Striker > Ranger)
"Ooo, are we playing a game? I love games- any games! I'm in! I'm in!"
"Here comes the head of the Future Strategy Department, Sigma! Today's duties: none! Mm? What, what? What have you got there? A new job?" (Operator)
The CEO's daughter. In actuality, she's one of the numerous Terrabrains that are a part of Hive Control.
  • Amnesiacs are Innocent: A robotic version. Exposure to Corruption Rays due to her personal shielding being damaged by C.O.s led to part of her data being corrupted, with her remaining algorithms combined with her experiences in the Counterside amalgamating into the childlike personality she sports.
  • Artificial Family Member: An AI construct that nonetheless sees the CEO as her father, and he quickly starts to return the sentiment. Given that he uses Machine G.A.P. to communicate with those outside of his inner circle and not everyone is initially aware that Sigma is a machine, some Coffin Company members naturally question how this even works.
  • Constantly Curious: Her original directive post-Administration Failure was to analyze information she came across in the Counterside, and this later becomes a childlike curiosity toward just about everything around her.
  • Daddy's Girl: She sees the CEO as her father, and is very devoted and affectionate towards him. Her ultimate literally involves her calling him (in the form of an upgraded Machine G.A.P.) for help.
  • Eyes Always Shut: A variant where she constantly keeps one eye closed likely as a reminder of the single red light on her true form that gives it a Cyber Cyclops appearance. Only in her Awakened version does she keep both eyes open, so she can fight more effectively on the front lines with the added depth perception.
"Isn't one eye enough? Using two input devices for depth perception is a waste of resources."
  • Father, I Want to Marry My Brother: In her wedding skin, she announces that she wants to marry the CEO, who she regards as her father. The CEO lets her continue this phase, if only to tease her about it when she gets older.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Or machines, in this case.
  • Gender Bender: One of her post-Lifetime Contract lines suggests she can easily make herself male if the CEO wants a son rather than a daughter. Justified as she's a technically genderless AI and hologram.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: She's so kind-hearted that she genuinely cannot understand how the crowd watching her fight against Haven in "Neverland Nevermore" could cheer while her friends are being brutalized, and for once she has no idea what to do on her own and has to call the CEO for help.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: Her Awakened version makes her much more active as a combatant, changing from Tower to Striker and getting up close and personal with enemies using her bare fists.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: Sigma started out as an AI construct whose main purpose was as Anti-hacing Protocals for the Administrator, but the Robot Maid R4 encouraged her to find a purpose in life beyond simple directives as R4 itself had done the same, leading to Sigma developing her personality. Even the CEO is taken aback by her behavior when they first reunite.
  • Hologram Projection Imperfection: Averted in cutscenes, where her hologram is good enough to apparently pass as a normal human, but her in-game sprite has the hologram periodically flickering. Additionally, parts of her extremities are see-through in her Live2D.
  • Immune to Mind Control: Her sophisticated AI is designed to resist hacking, so that she's immune to the Machine Collector's parasites and can free Titan and the other Future-At-War mechs in her side story.
  • Innocent Prodigy: An advanced artificial intelligence that can process and store huge amounts of data, but also essentially a naïve young girl when it comes to the real world.
  • Leitmotif: SIGMA MARCH, a jaunty Irish jig-inspired theme for a perky, fun-loving character.
  • Love Imbues Life: Her event details how she went from following simple commands to her usual form. Upon meeting a Robot Maid who talks about what it means to have a family and care for them, Sigma began to see the Administrator as something more prevalent in her own life.
  • Nice Girl: Friendly, willing to help, and overall a total sweetheart to both the CEO and everyone around him, especially the machines at Coffin Company's disposal.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: To R4 during her side story, after R4 suicide bombs a C.O. with a grenade to buy a damaged Sigma time to recover. Despite still having her original clinical, robotic behavior, the desperation still comes through clear as day:
  • Projected Man: Sigma's humanoid form is a nanoparicle hologram she uses as an avatar to physically interact with others. Her real body (which her hologram form sits on when deployed as a unit) is a black rectangular machine rather like the monolith in 2001: A Space Odyssey.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Sidestories and other supplemental material often put her at odds with Sooyeon, with her seeing Sooyeon as a mean old lady.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: In "Vice President's Holidays", she's apparently able to communicate with dolphins by analyzing their sounds and speech patterns.
  • Support Party Member: Her base version's attack is weak and crumbles quickly when attacked, but she provides Deployment Points, lessens enemies' Tactical Rock–Paper–Scissors advantage on her allies, and has a powerful summon.
  • Technopath: Even given that she is a machine herself, Sigma has an intuitive ability to repair machines and defend them from hacking.

    Titan
Voiced by: KR: Ahn Hyomin JP: Kazuya Nakai
Type: Mech
Role: Striker
Rarity: SSR
Team: Future-at-War
"The Ultimate Doomsday Weapon has arrived? You're my new commander. Nice to meet you."
An annihilator developed by Future-At-War to counter Category 3 Corrupted Objects. The original prototype was eventually acquired by Coffin Company.
  • Awesome, but Impractical:
    • He was frequently used in Mech teams thanks to his high HP and ability to gain resistances based on the battlefield, but with his high cost, lack of MDL, and slow ramp-up he's frequently considered a worse Evolved One.
    • In-universe, Seo Yoon points out the flaws of Titan's bipedal design: he requires much more maintenance due to the number of moving parts, he has a higher center of gravity and is easier to tip over, and he's more exposed to damage. She summarily calls him "an outlandish luxury packed with crazy sci-fi stuff". Titan interprets her words as compliments.
  • Balance Buff: His Rearm improves his all-around capabilities and, more significantly, refunds Deployment Resources when deployed; if set as Leader, he virtually becomes a 3-Cost unit.
  • Benevolent A.I.: Titan's creators intended him to protect the world from the Counterside. His self-learning AI took this to heart, becoming quite friendly and protective for a giant war machine.
  • Big Damn Heroes: His initial deployment involved him being dropped onto the front lines to single-handedly crush a C.O. attack threatening to wipe out a military unit. The project's research head was summarily fired for unauthorized disclosure of classified information as the deployment was not officially sanctioned.
  • The Big Guy: Coffin Company's answer to situations that require overwhelming firepower... preferably far away from inhabited areas.
  • Boisterous Bruiser: He's quite jovial and lively both in and out of battle.
  • Cool Old Guy: Sigma refers to him as "Grandpa" which he takes in stride. Helps that he's one of the older project out of Future-at-War.
  • Humongous Mecha: A large mech that shakes the ground when he's deployed.
  • Immune to Flinching: He's immune to hitstun from Ultimates and lower attacks.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: His Special skill barrages the area in front of him with a swarm of missiles.
  • Red Baron: The Ultimate Doomsday Weapon. Technically a misnomer because, as a pre-Character Development Titan points out, the world isn't technically facing doomsday yet (much less one caused by Titan), but clearly Rule of Cool was on the scientists' mind to some extent while designing him.
  • "Second Law" My Ass!: Discussed, downplayed, and a rare benevolent example as he is still first-law compliant. (Note that the First Law only specifies that a robot must not harm humans; Corrupted Objects are fair game.) Doctor Chernov's dying request to Titan was for him to protect mankind, which promptly became his prime directive, and he is capable of disobeying direct commands in favor of saving people. Because of this, Titan was subsequently locked up by Future-At-War and purchased by Coffin Company at a bargain as an AI capable of disobeying orders is considered quite dangerous, even if Titan himself has good intentions when doing so.
  • Shoulder Cannon: His main weapon is a 155 mm gun built into his shoulder.
  • Super Prototype: While his body was eventually mass-produced with a simpler program, Titan retains a fully functional AI that allows him to think for himself and defy orders he deems inappropriate.

  • Idiot Ball: Despite being an all-around AI specialized in every field, she has her moments.
    • In "Carnival, she gets disabled twice. First by Revanent, and the other by Montagnes.
    • In Episode 9.5, she is outwitted Veronica.
  • Mission Control: In "Carnival", she assists the Maze Division during their time in Gronia.
  • The Voice: In a sense. Her playable debut coincided with the "End of the Maze" event, and though she doesn't make an appearance there she's implied to be the system salvaged from the Coffin-6.

A dormant member of the Replacers who is awoken by the Administrator and secretly employed by the Coffin Company.

She first appears in the epilogue of Episode 5, she's a supporting character in "Bottom of the Shade", and she gains a bigger role from Episode 9 onwards.

  • Alternate Self: She's a version of Maria Antonov from another world (technically five years older).
  • The Comically Serious: During Episode 9, she accepts Albert and Maverick's statements at face value.
  • Last of Her Kind: Her original world fell to the Counterside.
  • MacGuffin Super-Person: Her ability to purify Alternium is shown in "Bottom of the Shade". It's how the CEO is able to put Rita and Dash's souls to rest.
  • The Mind Is a Plaything of the Body: Despite being the oldest version of Maria Antonov, her general demeanor has her acting like a child when she's casual.
  • Older Than She Looks: According to the epilogue of "The Inheritor", in 2049 of her original world she previously looked identical to the current Maria Antonov before becoming the last test subject of Project Terraside, and the process deaged her body.
  • Sixth Ranger: She becomes part of Coffin Company after the Replacer Incident.
  • The Stinger: She debuts in the post-credits scene of Episode 5, after the Replacer Incident has been resolved.
  • Walking Spoiler: Her existence in turn reveals the existence of other Worldlines.
  • You Are Number 6: In Episode 9, Albert and Maverick of the Dark Seven group call her "Number Five".
Maverick: Remember, for us Daark Seven, the Info Warriors of Darkness, our name has nothing to do with our number of members.
Albert: That's right. We just added whatever number sounded the most appropriate and cool.

Combat Squads

Fenrir Squad

    As a group
"A combat unit belonging to the Coffin Company. In the Coffin Company, which is notorious for its poor treatment of its employees, it is the only one that has been on duty for more than a year, and recently hired a new member."
  • Fire-Forged Friends: Mina starts out as a fairly rough addition to the crew, with her headstrong personality earning Hilde's mistrust and leading to hostility toward Shiyoon, who claims he's looking out for her only because he's ordered to. As the story and conflicts go on and Mina defrosts, they gradually start to get along much better.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Shiyoon positively towers over Hilde when the two are seen next to each other. Mina, on the other hand, is fairly tall (her given measurement is 168 cm or around 5'6''), though Shiyoon is still a head taller than her.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: Shiyoon's the Nice, being the most cordial and laid-back member of the bunch; Mina's the Mean, being hot-headed and Only in It for the Money; and Hilde's the In-Between, being largely unfriendly but still professional most of the time. Averted after Mina undergoes Character Development and becomes nicer.
  • Starter Mon: As main characters, the initial trio are part of the starting roster. A later update allowed one copy of Awakened Hilde to be acquired after clearing Episode 5.
  • Two Girls and a Guy: Mina's an inexperienced rookie, Hilde is the older and more experienced leader/mentor, and Shiyoon is the solo guy that has history with Hilde and eventually gets along with Mina.

"Long time, no see. How's the company doing while I was away?"
"I'm ready. Just tell me when." (Awakened)
Commander of the Fenrir Squad, she had disappeared twenty years ago during the Administration Failure, reappeared to help Sooyeon establish Coffin Company, disappeared again, reappeared, disappeared...you get the drill. She disappeared again for 5 years, but returned for some unknown reason. Her Administration Assigned Counter Grade is A, but there is more to her than meets the eye.
  • Art Evolution: Her Live2D was updated to be more in line with her other skins and her Awakened art.
  • Balance Buff: Her Awakened form had its Special upgraded to ignore all Hitstun, and its Ultimate was improved to cast her Special during its buff regardless of cooldown. This gives her a much more effective role as a tank.
  • Commuting on a Bus: Likely due to her being just a little too competent, powerful, and commanding, Hilde gets surprisingly little to do and is often absent during major events.
    • Her arrival at the end of the Replacer Arc features her pretty much curbstomping the most powerful character on the field, proving that if she'd been there from the start things would have gone very differently.
    • In Episode 7, she's sent through a spatial rift, which makes her unable to rescue Shiyoon until Mika and Naielle destroy the source.
    • In Episode 9, she's again sent through a rift while fighting against an apparent Doppelganger of Mina, which was the trap set by Serapel, Lucrecia, and Yubin.
  • Dual Wielding: She wields twin swords named Balmung and Gram.
  • Dynamic Entry:
    • Her normal unit strikes down with her twin blades, dealing damage to any unit she hits on the way down.
    • As with all Awakened units, Hilde dives down from atop the screen and then flourishes her armor, also granting barriers to all allies on the field.
  • Expy: A combination of Kal'tsit from Arknights and Hilda from Stella Glow.
  • Frontline General: Is the captain of Fenrir Squad, and very much on the frontlines. Out of its three members, she's the only melee attacker in their base forms (Shiyoon functions as a Ranged attacker since his basic attack is a medium-ranged dash).
  • Godzilla Threshold: Her usage of Siegfried, her Qliphoth Factor, is treated as such. She's previously killed people just for possessing a Qliphoth Factor, so deciding to use her own is a sign that things have just gotten very real.
  • Hopeless with Tech: She may be an unparalleled warrior, but put her in front of a computer and she's helpless. Her Counter Case shows Mina helping her type up a report because with Hilde's two-finger typing, she'd likely be there for days.
  • Inexplicably Identical Individuals:
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: In her Awakened form she wears her shirt over a Leotard of Power, but she seems oblivious to how it makes her look like she's Going Commando.
"You're upset about the way I'm dressed? Hm, I'm wearing a necktie, like a proper employee."
    • This is given a Call-Back with one of her post-Lifetime Contract lines in her anniversary skin:
"You don't know where to look? Okay, then why don't you look at my necktie? Hmpf, you're so naive."
  • Limit Break: Dragon Slayer and Buster Overdrive.
  • Meaningful Name: Both of her swords come from Norse Mythology and her name comes from one of the Valkyries. Her Awakened form, Type Siegfried, is named after the hero of The Ring of the Nibelung and lover of Brünnhilde.
  • Mysterious Waif: A small lady whose past is mostly unknown, but who has a very clear history with the CEO and the Qliphoth Game itself.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has a light silverish tone and also has a connection to the Qliphoth Game and the various Demon Lords.
  • Older Than She Looks: Her exact age is unknown, but due to her height she is often regarded as a child or teenager. Given that she looked the exact same twenty years before the main game's events (when she was already a commander), she would have to be in her 40s at the very least, though likely even older than that. The "Last blooming days on the campus" side story has her name being offhandedly mentioned in the Administrator's 600-year-old time capsule; given how little of Hilde's past is revealed, it's entirely possible this is the very same Hilde that appears in-game. Given that she's got personal history with various Demon Lords, it's likely that she's even older than that.
  • Percussive Therapy: After first rescuing Machine G.A.P. and being told he is, in fact, the new CEO of Coffin Company, Hilde vents her frustrations with the situation by taking it out on him. Machine G.A.P. refers to her as "the violent little lady" in in-game voice lines, so it's likely she hasn't stopped.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: She's short, but can slay Category 4 C.O.s by herself. Episode 6 shows her level a Category 3 with a single punch.
  • Put on a Bus: As of the story arc starting with "Administration Complete", she and Shiyoon are tracking down Na Yubin, which leaves Mina and new employee Noelle to accompany the CEO on his quest to regain his Supreme Administrator privileges.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: In Episode 5, choosing to don the Siegfried armor to defeat the Replacer Queen leads to the start of another Qliphoth Game.
  • Red Baron: "Last Valkyrie"
  • Restraining Bolt: During the final battle of Episode 10, she tries to activate a secret code, but instead suffers recoil damage since it violates her contract with the Administrator.

  • Secret Identity: Her last Counter Case reveals that "Hilde" is also a false name, and only the CEO, Lee Sooyeon, and Na Yubin know her real one (which is hidden from the player). Episode 10 implies that her real name is Freyja.
  • Serious Business: She takes any and all risks with the Qliphoth Game seriously.
  • The Stoic: Frequently the most aloof member in Fenrir, unless gambling is involved.
  • Stone Wall: Her SR version's Ultimate gives her a barrier equal to 15% of her Max HP. In her Awakened version, her Special gives her a barrier equal to 25% of her max HP that can negate not only hitstun but also her disadvantage against Rangers, and her Ultimate gives her a buff that not only lowers damage taken and negates non-permanent debuffs but also lets her ignore her Special's cooldown while said buff is active (which equates to her spamming her Special three times in a row). As a result, Awakened Hilde is often considered the premier tank in the game.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Tries to give one to Sooyeon about letting the company fall into hard times, but is instead given one due to her own choice to abandon the company and not even keep in touch for twenty years.

The newest Combat Operative of the Fenrir Squad. Her Administration Assigned Counter Grade is C.

  • Achievements in Ignorance: In Episode 4, she manages to stumble upon the motives of the Replacers just by noticing a discrepancy: initially believing the Replacers to be wild terrorists, she realizes in the Episode that their method of converting everyone in sight into a Corrupted Object is the aim: getting every person who survives to survive the merge with the Counterside into reality.
  • Almighty Janitor: In Episode 6, she's forced to not acknowledge her part in the Replacer Incident despite personally resolving it. As a result, when she enters the Counter Academy, her experience has her ace a combat simulation on her first try, one that many students have failed at the end of their training.
  • Alternate Self: Every Worldline that has gone through the Qliphoth Games has had a version of the "Cursed Wolf".
  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: Compared to her sister being her main reason for her mercenary work, the only mention of their parents is when Shiyoon brings it up during his outing with Mina at an amusement park in Episode 4, but it gets interrupted by a ship full of C.O.s crashing into the park. This may or may not be Foreshadowing the true nature of her bond with her sister.
(Episode 4, 1-2 pre-battle) Shiyoon: I've been digging through your personal information files to learn more about you. The only thing I could find on your family was your older sister in the hospital. And all I got from that was her name. I couldn't find anything else on your parents or other family members. It's as if... they never existed.
  • Art Evolution: Had her Live2D updated to fit with the newer artstyle.
  • Balance Buff: Her SR was one of the first to get a Rearm, which raised her to SSR rank and gave her more of a crit build. Her Awakened version was given Perfect Evasion and 30% increased Attack Speed on entry. Her Special can also seal enemies' Specials, and her Ultimate was given hitstun on enemies casting their Specials.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Sometimes she tries to be compensated for any work she does.
  • Broke Your Arm Punching Out Cthulhu: Her using her powers to fight against Nehemoth ends up breaking her right arm.
  • Cool Sword: Wolvesbane, hidden inside her pulse blaster. Her Awakened form uses it more.
  • Critical Hit Class: Her base form's passive increases her critical hit damage, and her Rearm increases the multiplier further. As such, she deals some of the biggest crits in the game in terms of damage multipliers (easily hitting for over double her written damage values in a game where the default multiplier is 1.5x), but she has no boosts to crit rate and has to make up for it with gear.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: She starts out fairly hostile toward others, though she eventually drops it and becomes kinder over time.
  • Expy: Her winter skin shares a lot of similarities with WA2000's "Snowy Appointment" outfit.
  • Fanservice Pack: Her new art makes her bust a bit more noticable.
  • Fight Magnet: The number of people that approach Mina with the intent of eventually fighting her borders on Running Gag levels. Shiyoon even lampshades this in Episode 8 after yet another person betrays and fights them, stating that anyone who comes to them with a vested interest in Mina at this point specifically cannot be good news.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Her base version is considered very underpowered for a main character, which is accurate to her portrayal in the first main story arc. That version of her is only a Grade C Counter who is explicitly portrayed as weaker than her teammates.
  • George Jetson Job Security: She went through two mercenary companies before Coffin Company, but didn't last a week at either of them. As a result, she is relatively well-trained compared to other rookies (if barely).
  • Has a Type: Her friend Narae mentions her being into confident guys (at least before her life came crashing down).
  • Have We Met?: In the epilogue of "World's most delicious and horrifying chocolate", her apparent first meeting with the CEO in person gives her an unusual feeling of familiarity.
Yoo Mina: For some reason, your face looks familiar to me, and it's giving me this sense of "longing"—
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: In "Administration Complete", her counseling with the CEO ends on a sour note since she struggles with the knowledge that Narae, Najin, and Ray's deaths were linked to her, if not fated. Sooyeon's talk with her convinces her to move forward, and she goes to rescue Noelle from the challenge she imposed on the girl.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she initially has a bad attitude and is Only in It for the Money, she does save Seo Yoon from her betrayal in Episode 1, and in Episode 2 she frequently goes along with Amy in saving others from C.O.s despite not getting paid for it. As the story progresses she becomes more of a genuine Nice Girl, with her more aggressive moments few and far between.
  • Limit Break: Wolvesbane and Wolvesbane Legacy.
  • Living MacGuffin: For reasons that are explained as the story goes along, a lot of major powers in the setting have some sort of interest in Mina.
  • Me's a Crowd: Played with. In Episode 10, the souls of the previous Cursed Wolves cheer her on and call her the leader of "our Wolfpack".
  • The Musketeer: Her pulse blaster conceals Wolvesbane, a sword that interacts with her powers. Her base form and Rearm portray Mina in her relatively inexperienced state where Wolvesbane doesn't fully respond to her yet, so she uses her gun most of the time and only breaks out Wolvesbane for her Limit Break; her Awakened form, however, portrays her later down the line after her Qliphoth Factor fully awakens and wearing gear that enables her to wield it properly, and in that form Wolvesbane becomes her primary weapon.
  • Mythical Motifs: More than any other character connected to the name Fenrir (both the current squad and the former division of the Old Administration), Mina has the heaviest association with Fenrir of Norse Mythology. Her vast potential was originally fettered by Sooyeon and Hilde on purpose until Ray broke it loose, and she forms the focus of the potentially apocalyptic Qliphoth Game. Wolvesbane also gives her the ability to slay entities that would be far beyond the abilities of normal people and other Counters, much like Fenrir is destined to slay Odin during Ragnarok. Nervier is the first of several people to refer to her as the "Cursed Wolf".
  • New Meat: While she's more experienced than most versions of the trope, Hilde still treats her as such initially due to her spotty previous employment record and the perception that she was only hired because Coffin is Too Desperate to Be Picky. The English localization uses the term "FNG"note  for her quite a bit as a result.
  • Only in It for the Money: Her reason for being a Counter is to pay for her sister's high medical costs and hospital bill. This no longer applies after she learns about her sister's true identity, with Mina now willing to loosen her own purse.
  • Precious Photo: One of Mina's few shown possessions is a photo of her with her friend Narae and Narae's brother Najin, seemingly one of her last ties to her pre-Counter life. In the epilogue of Episode 5, it blows away after she visits Narae/Bishop's grave.
  • Red Baron: She's known as "The Cursed Wolf" or simply "The Wolf" by several antagonists in the setting.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: When she's handed her uniform for her Awakened form, she complains over the low neckline and the tight fit emphasizing her curves. She also complains about wearing a bunny girl outfit as part of Amy's plans in Episode 2.
  • Say My Name: In Episode 7, she screams Shiyoon's name as Lucrecia stabs him dead and Mina sees him go limp.
  • Significant Birth Date: Her birthday is December 25, as in Christmas Day.
  • Sword Beam: In her base and Rearm form, her ultimate has her drawing Wolvesbane and unleashing a crescent-shaped energy wave from its blade.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Her Watch and her weapon were her sister's before she was hospitalized.
  • Trauma Conga Line: From the end of Episode 2 onward, Mina cannot catch a break. First she watches Amy apparently die in front of her, then discovers Replacer Bishop is her friend Shin Narae and not only hates her but forces her to fight, resulting in Bishop dying in her arms, and then she has all those traumatic feelings brought back when Regenerated Bishop appears, and despite trying to save Bishop as hard as she can, she ultimately has to watch her die again in a Heroic Suicide. Oh, and she's fighting with the fate of the world on her shoulders all the while. And that's not counting the crap that she's already had to deal with before the story began. Small wonder Shiyoon outright diagnoses her with PTSD at the end of Episode 5 from having had no time to actually cope with any of this.
    • The second main arc does not let up on her, either. Just as she was about to talk sense into Ray, Yubin kills him right in front of her; her sister is revealed to be the Big Bad; and her boss turns out to have enabled every bad thing that happened to her for the sake of saving humanity. It's when Noelle tells her that her efforts saved lives that she finds some kind of solace for her situation.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: She awakened her Counter powers after an explosion near her school. It's actually Inverted: her Counter awakening caused the explosion.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Starting from Episode 6, she becomes quite ashamed of her previous abrasive self.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: She's only ranked a Grade C Counter, but she shows a large amount of potential due to Wolvesbane and its interaction with her Qliphoth Factor. Indeed, most of her kit is summed up by "things her gun and sword do" in her base and Rearm forms.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Taking her sister's Watch awakened her own Counter powers, but the high potential Mina possessed caused an extremely large explosion in a three-kilometer radius around her school, and also caused trauma for both her and her friends.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: In both her Counter Case and the main story, Mina was said to have been friendly and modest in school - a far cry from the hardened mercenary she starts as.
  • Weapon of X-Slaying: The Tech-Level Unknown Wolvesbane that Mina wields is a sword encased in a Pulse Revolver. It allows her to channel her Qliphoth Factor to slay Gods, ranging from Physical God to Powers That Be.
    • The Wolvesbane is also a Legacy Device, which not only protects her from having her memories interfered with, but also contains the skills and souls of its previous wielders.
  • Workaholic: After Replacer Bishop's death, she throws herself into taking C.O. cleaning jobs, taking up to ten a week. Played for Drama, as her colleagues start to worry about her health from taking on too much at once alongside possible PTSD.

The Cursed Wolf (Unmarked Spoilers)

The title given to every version of Yoo Mina from every worldline.

Known instances include:

  • Yoo Mina of Fenrir Squad.
  • "Yoo Mina" of Fenrir Division, currently in Mina's Mental World.
    • The Doppleganger of "Yoo Mina" created in Episode 9.
  • The Student Council President in Last Blooming Days on the Campus.
  • The Cursed Wolf of the Fenrir Mercenaries of Arcadena.

  • Doppelgänger: They are all implied to be dopplegangers of Tammiel, created for the purpose of being raised by the Administrator in the Qliphoth Games to kill Tammiel.

The Cursed Wolf of the Fenrir Mercenaries of Arcadena

  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Despite Ray begging her not to as her help was necessary to slay Nehemoth, she willingly walked into a trap to save a city from one of Nehemoth's Apostles.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Clareth's conversation with Carlota notes how she betrayed her only friend, the Cursed Wolf (most likely under the orders of Clareth himself).
  • Mentor Archetype: Downplayed. She served as a mentor to Ray and Carlota, and losing her severely affected them.

Arhat (Awakened)

Voiced by: KR: Jung Jaeheon JP: Jun Fukuyama
Type: Counter
Role: Ranger, Striker (Awakened)
Rarity: SR, ASSR
"Hah hah, I'm Shiyoon. Just an ordinary employee. No need to remember me."
"Should I say it's time to show them my real skills? Haha, I'm a little shy about this." (Awakened)

The 18-year-old sole member of the Fenrir Squad as well its acting Commander until Hilde returned. His Administration Assigned Counter Grade is B, and he has a history with Hilde.
  • Action Initiative: Can be placed anywhere on the field in his base form.
  • Animal Motifs: He's associated with snakes. His tall and lanky physique is rather reminiscent of a snake's usual build and his exclusive gear is a dagger named Poison Fang which he uses for his normal attacks. Additionally, making full use of him involves scanning the battlefield for just the right time to have him strike, and his dash attacks using his dagger are evocative of a venomous snake lunging to bite. Snakes are also often associated with cunning, a trait which Shiyoon definitely possesses. The prophecy surrounding his family also describes him as "a snake born of dragons".
  • BFS: The Dragon Fang (whose name is revealed in Episode 7) is almost as long as he is tall, and he's one of the tallest human characters in the game. And he has no problem swinging it with one hand. Its sheath makes it even more impressive in his Awakened form.
  • Blatant Lies: He constantly claims to just be an ordinary employee. No one buys it.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Known as a Master Swordsman, but also has tendency to fake injuries or stay in Fenrir Squad as the only member so he can get paid without working. He's also suspected of having instigated at least one strike just so he'd have an excuse to slack off, and a lot of his lines as an in-game unit have him asking to clock out early or take a break. His laziness is largely a coping mechanism; his Awakened form establishes that making peace with his family's past resulted in him becoming much more proactive.
  • Came Back Strong: In Episode 7, after being stabbed dead by Lucrecia, and drifting to a place of near death, he's able to revive himself and have his family sins absolved into his new Awakened form.
  • Cerebus Retcon: Episode 7 reveals that his "good hearing" allowed him to overhear his parents' last words, recontextualizing his entire character from the moment he joined the Coffin Company and took Kim Hana's advice (to pretend to not hear private details and hide his feelings) to heart.
  • Characterization Marches On: His response to Mina's frosty first meeting with him and Hilde is telling Hilde he "thinks [he's] in love", and in Episode 4 he's disappointed when Mina says she doesn't have a crush on anyone in Coffin Company, but this apparent Ship Tease gets downplayed for him being her Stealth Mentor in their later scenes.
  • The Chosen One: Episode 7 reveals that he is the descendant of the Seeker of Truth, the failed Antagonist of Arcadena. Even though the Seeker was unable to save his own world, he consumed Dragon Blood, which was actually a reactive Qliphoth Factor, with the hope that eventually one of his descendants will break its curse and inherit his powers.
  • Counter-Attack: Literally the name of his SR version's active skill, which blocks an enemy stun and then strikes back with a slash. This is also used for demonstrating counter-attacks in the tutorial. His Awakened form has two counter-attack abilities.
  • Day in the Limelight: Episode 7 explores his past and his family.
  • Devious Daggers: He primarily fights using a dagger because he often can't be bothered to draw his sword, and while he's not fundamentally a shady person, he's still far more cunning than he lets on.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: In Episode 7, the CG doesn't reflect it, but the script implies that he dies in Mina's arms after Lucrecia stabs him (the next audio cue is Mina getting up). For the record, he does get better.
  • Discard and Draw: Episode 7 frames his Awakened form as him losing his Dragon Blood and inheriting the abilities of his ancestor, the Seeker of Truth.
  • Distressed Dude: He gets captured in Episode 7, and much of the ensuing conflict is to rescue him.
  • Dynamic Entry: His sword falls down from the sky, as he materializes behind it and returns it to its sheath. Additionally, his Passive in his SR version allows him to be deployed anywhere on the field.
  • Enlightenment Superpowers: His Awakened form is the result of him achieving enlightenment and choosing to accept the Kleshas that come with it, rather than fighting to overcome them, allowing him to revive stronger than ever. Appropriately, his Awakened form has the title "Arhat", a Buddhist term referring to a person who has achieved Nirvana.
  • Eyes Always Shut: He's always seen with his eyes shut. And for good reasons.
  • The Gadfly: He loves to tease those around him, and is almost as adept at verbal fencing as he is with swordplay.
  • Hypnotic Eyes: At the end of "Operation: Pathfinder", he hypnotizes Kyle Wong into forgetting about the event, and it eventually wore off in Kyle's final Counter Case (set after Episode 5). After Episode 7, he no longer has this ability since he doesn't have the Dragon Blood anymore.
  • Limit Break: Spatial Slash and Sentiment Du Fer.
  • Limited Wardrobe: While this is true of most characters, who are usually seen in the same outfit all the time (barring skins), he discusses this with Mina in her Counter Case. Mina genuinely does not have more than a single work outfit due to her Perpetual Poverty, and she washes it once every few days. Shiyoon, on the other hand, has twenty sets of identical clothes.
  • Master Swordsman: So much so that his Ultimate is cutting a building in half. Emphasized greatly in his Awakened form with the ability to cut through dimensions.
  • Meaningful Name: In Buddhism, an "Arhat" is one who has achieved enlightenment and insight into the true nature of existence and freed themselves from the endless cycle of rebirth. In Episode 7, Shiyoon does just that regarding the nature of the Kleshas bound to his Dragon Blood by choosing to accept his sufferings and live as himself, freeing himself and his ancestors from its curse, achieving his Arhat form in the process.
  • Mellow Fellow: Very calm, collected, and laid-back, rarely seeming to take anything seriously.
  • Not Me This Time: The "Killer of the Holy Night" event involves a seemingly ghostly "killer" that puts his victims under some form of mind control. Naturally, Shiyoon immediately falls under suspicion for his Hypnotic Eyes and lack of credible alibi, but he turns out to have been a victim all along.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: The one person he's shown getting annoyed by is Shiyoung, his Distaff Counterpart from a different world and about the only person as impertinent and teasing as he is.
  • Parental Abandonment: When he was twelve, his parents, about to succumb to their Dragon Blood, entrusted him to Hilde before she Mercy Killed them.
  • Put on a Bus: As of the story arc starting with "Administration Complete", he and Hilde are tracking down Na Yubin, which leaves Mina and new employee Noelle to accompany the CEO on his quest to regain his Supreme Administrator privileges.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The few times he's seen with an eye open it's shown to be an unpleasant-looking red, and he has the ability to hypnotize people with his gaze. However, his Bell Watcher skin and cutscenes in Episode 7 show that his natural eye color is blue.
  • Secret Test of Character: In Episode 7, Lucrecia gives him a gun with the theory that Mina's been the source of all his family's problems, and that shooting Mina with intent would allow the Draconoid to consume Mina and become a real dragon. Shiyoon responds by shooting the Draconoid instead, accepting his family's faults and ultimately putting their souls to rest.
  • Signature Move: Counter Attack. Although he is no longer the only unit capable of doing it, the ability is what he is known for.
  • Significant Birth Date: His birthday is December 26, which happens to be the day after Mina's birthday.
  • Stealth Mentor: Episode 7 heavily implies that he had retroactively been this to Mina from the very moment she joined Fenrir Squad (and technically survived Mentor Occupational Hazard by acquiring his Awakened form).
  • Stepford Smiler: Despite being a laid-back Perpetual Smiler, one of the contacts in his Counter Case states that it always seems to be forced. And indeed, beneath the cheerful snark is a man with quite a bit of emotional baggage.
  • Super-Senses: He has exceptionally good hearing.
  • Tall, Dark, and Snarky: His hair is a dark shade of brown, and he's definitely the tallest and snarkiest of the trio.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Episode 7 reveals that his Dragon Fang was his mother's sword.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The year-end party in "Killer of the Holy Night" wouldn't have become a mess if he didn't say Sooyeon's password within earshot of Alex, allowing her to hijack Machine G.A.P. and gain control over the venue.
  • The Worf Effect: In Episode 8, his Arhat form can only stall Hollow God Khamimael for a while after he sends the protagonist group to safety. He ends up being rescued by Rosaria.
  • You Killed My Father: Hilde took him in after killing his parents for possessing Qliphoth Factors. While he doesn't seem to be seeking vengeance on her (yet), his curiosity about Hilde and her inscrutable motives is a key part of his character, especially as she kept him and Mina alive.
    • The climax of Episode 7 reveals that his exceptionally good hearing let him overhear his parents' last words to Hilde before she gave them Mercy Kills, and he never blamed Hilde for it that entire time.

"I passed? I'm going to be in Fenrir Squad now? Really? Yay! I did it! Thank you, Boss!"

A rookie Counter who is a huge fan of the Fenrir Squad. After an eventful recruitment, she becomes its newest member.

She first appears in Administration Complete, and debuted as a Counter Pass unit.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: In the Global server, her Counter Pass debut was one week after "Administration Complete" was added; in the KR server, they were simultaneous.
  • Ascended Fanboy: Administration Complete shows her going from hardcore Fenrir Squad fan to their newest member.
  • Challenge Seeker: It's written as her specialty in her Profile.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: While she is a genuinely good cook, sometimes she likes to put weird ingredients in her dishes.
    • In one of her lines, she thinks that strawberries and curry would be a good idea. To be fair, this is implied to be the CEO's suggestion.
    • In Little, Vincent, she puts broccoli in crepes, and neither Mina nor the Canary Squad like it.
Laika: That wasn't a pleasant surprise, Noelle. It was like walking on a minefield of broccoli.
  • Country Mouse: During her interview, she mentions her parents owning a farm and a huge dog named Cheese. Episode 11 implies that this is actually fake.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: At Skill Level 5, her Ultimate inflicts a stackable DMG Taken AMP debuff on enemies (up to 20%).
  • Dub Name Change: The KR server names her Noel, while the SEA and Global servers use Noelle.
  • Foreshadowing: She doesn't know her own CRF grade despite being a Counter, gets hurt by an object thrown by a non-Counter, and has low stamina even for a Sniper. There is also Shiyoon's words that anyone with a vested interest in Mina is not to be trusted.
  • Flying Weapon: She fights with an autonomous weapon known as Vajra.
  • Genki Girl: Her optimism is quite the contrast to the other Fenrir Squad members.
  • Guardian Angel: She has conversations with an unseen "angel" (implied to be her Vajra), which weirds out the nameless mercenary group she's tagging along with during her hunt for a Category 3 C.O.
  • Hidden Depths: Her outfit is handmade since there were no uniforms of Fenrir Squad for sale.
  • Money Dumb: She spends most of her money on discontinued Fenrir Squad merchandise. Her bio notes that "special supervision from her superiors is required".
  • Mythical Motifs: Compared to the Norse mythology motifs Hilde and Mina have, Noelle has distinctively Hindu motifs courtesy of her weapon. In Hindu mythology, the god Shiva used the newly-forged Vajra to instantly slay the Asura Vritra.
  • New Meat: Like Mina before her, she's new to the mercenary business.
  • Otaku:
    • She became a hardcore fan of Fenrir Squad after watching a video of them saving the world from the Qliphoth Game with Nehemoth, such that she even wears "I ♥ Fenrir" underwear (and her data files and her pre-deployment sprite confirm that she wasn't kidding).
    • In Little, Vincent, she apparently gave a Fenrir Squad theme song during her live TV interview with Mitchie; Mina is glad that it got overshadowed by Félicette's statements.
  • Power Nullifier: At Skill Level 5, her Special seals non-Mech enemies' skills via the detonated Vajras.
  • Sentient Weapon: Her Vajra is apparently sentient; in Little, Vincent, it attacks Noelle when she considers selling it off to prevent her Fenrir merch from being confiscated.
  • Sixth Ranger: She joins the Coffin Company after the Qliphoth Game with Nehemoth is over.
  • Split Personality: In Episode 11, she is confronted with a mirror version of herself, who speaks of being alone and not having any family. It also seems the "main" Noelle has had her memories fabricated.
  • Stance System: At Skill Level 5, her Passive's enhanced attack buffs her Evasion by 100% for 3 seconds.
  • Team Chef: During her interview with Mina, she mentions her own cooking skills as a reason to hire her.

ALT Squad

    As a group
Coffin Company's first official mission under Machine G.A.P.'s management sees the onboarding of the ALT Squad, who's already made a name for themselves among the non-licensed, "underground" teams. Like the Fenrir Squad, ALT Squad has their own batch of secrets...
  • Amazon Brigade: All four of them are female, and skilled Counters to boot.
  • Commonality Connection: John Mason strikes a friendship with them during their missions together, and his reason is revealed in Episode 5: his brother Ian indirectly provided the ALT Squad a chance to escape the Syndicate while carrying out his own plan to dismantle them... but Ian didn't survive the attempt.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble:
    • Seo Yoon is Sanguine.
    • Eujin is Choleric.
    • Xiao Lin is Melancholeric.
    • Kim Sobin is Phlegmatic.
  • Identity Amnesia: In Episode 5, Seo Yoon tells Mina that she doesn't remember her past before the Replacer Syndicate experimented on her, implying that it also happened to the other ALT Squad members. In fact, her past was one of the CEO's extra rewards for her Fake Defector mission.
  • The Mutiny: During Episode 1, the squad uses the Coffin Company as bait so that they can swipe the corruption core they were hired to destroy, even if Lin, Eujin, and Sobin were reluctant to do it. This bites them back when they find themselves cornered by Ministra, the Shadow who possesses the core. Fortunately for them, Fenrir Squad is able to rescue them in time, after Mina makes them promise to give her their paycheck and all the Eternium they collected (though she leaves them enough to cover their expenses as "her lesson fee for opening her eyes").
  • Phlebotinum Rebel: They were initially experiments for the Replacers due to a substance known as the Alternative Factor in their blood (hence the name "ALT Squad"), but escaped to strike out on their own. The Replacers now want them back to extract that Factor from them.

Type: Counter

Rarity: SSR, ASSR

Commander of the ALT Squad. In the Underground, she led her team to complete more than ten missions within a matter of months without losing a single member.
  • Alternate Self: Her "Broadcast Club Leader" skin is technically a version of her from another world, as shown in "Last blooming days on the campus".
  • Ambiguously Absent Parent: Her third Counter Case shows her as a child with her sick mom, but her dad isn't seen or mentioned.
  • Badass in Distress: In Episode 3, she's captured by Replacer Bishop and imprisoned in a device that could potentially drain all her blood, and if it's tampered with while Bishop is still alive it would melt Seo's brain. However, in the epilogue Shiyoon tells Mina that the device had been inactive the entire time.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Admits to being one, saying that she wouldn't have gotten this far by being straightforward and naive. She may be disarmingly friendly on the surface, but she's a competent schemer and often has her own agenda.
  • The Captain: Of ALT Squad. It's also reflected in her Passive, which buffs all allies' Attack for 10 seconds after she's deployed.
  • Chessmaster Sidekick: By Episode 5, she answers directly to the Administrator, and he relies on her to carry out large parts of his schemes in the field.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She does not take kindly to Shin Jia acting close to the CEO.
Seo Yoon: Also, will you please stop acting like best buddies with our Boss, Miss Shin? He's my Boss, not yours.
  • The Cynic: You wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at her, but she's quite jaded and wary of others due to her past. If you form a Lifetime Contract with her Altergressive form, she admits that the CEO is the only person she's fully trusted in a long time.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Her Altergressive form puts her in an all-black outfit complete with a hood to shadow her face, and her powers gain a dark purple tint. Nonetheless, she uses this form after becoming a loyal ally to the CEO and Coffin Company even if she initially appeared to have become a turncoat again.
  • Establishing Character Moment: After her Naked First Impression with Mina, she acts friendly with the crew. When Mina explains her motivations as a Counter, Seo gives her a little teddy bear charm for good luck. Later in the Episode, the charm is revealed to be hiding a device to attract C.O.s so that ALT Squad can steal the Artifact Core that the Coffin Company hired them to help destroy.
  • Face–Heel Turn:
  • The Gadfly: Her debut scene is her surprising Mina in the shower, and one of the things she likes about Mina is how easy Mina is to tease. She later has an absolute blast trolling Naielle in "A Wish that You Don't Know", and she likes to get a rise out of Sooyeon as well.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Hoo boy... She starts out presenting herself as Mina's friend, only to ditch Fenrir Squad along with the rest of ALT Squad so they can swipe a good chunk of their paycheck, goes back into Fenrir's good graces once they get saved, remains as an ally for a bit before personally defecting to the Replacers in Episode 4, only to turn out to have been a Fake Defector all along... She does eventually settle on a side, but it takes quite a while for her actual allegiance to become clear.
  • Jack of All Stats: Has the most balanced stat spread of ALT Squad.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Seo normally plays the cheerful gadfly, but she is in fact a highly intelligent and somewhat ruthless schemer who will happily keep secrets from even her closest allies and lie without regret. Fortunately, she's generally on the side of the good guys.
  • Mind over Matter: Her Limit Break in her normal form has her summoning a veritable arsenal, including her teammates' guns, and telekinetically emptying them in the enemy's direction. This becomes her default method of attack in her Altergressive form, with her levitated rifles even counting as separate units.
  • The Minion Master: Her Altergressive form's telekinetically-wielded rifles count as separate units and are classified as Snipers, as opposed to Seo herself being a Ranger. Incidentally, this means that she and her rifles can each deal with the classes that resist the other. Additionally, her rifles can take damage meant for her, making her more durable than she appears.
  • Missing Mom: Seo's mom was sick around the time Seo was kidnapped by the Replacer Syndicate, so whether her mom endured both that and the global Replacer Incident is left unknown.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her "Unkempt Melody" skin manages to mix Little Black Dress, Sideboob, and Stocking Filler all in a very ornate dress that has two very strategically placed straps to cover her chest.
  • Mystical White Hair: In her Altergressive form, her hair changes from brown to white.
  • Name Order Confusion: Helpfully averted. Her Disaster District Refugee License in her fourth Counter Case (before Replacer Queen brought her into the Replacer Syndicate) confirms that "Seo" is her given name and "Yoon" is her surname (although in-game she's on a Full-Name Basis with Sooyeon and several others). On the other hand, the Chinese localization treats "Seo" as her surname as per the naming conventions in eastern Asia.note  A silent update to her third and fourth Counter Cases had her younger self labeled "Yoon Seo" and referred to that way by her mother as per the Eastern name order; the flipped name order likely stuck after the Replacer Syndicate read it as such.
  • Number Two: She goes on to join Sooyeon as one of the Administrator's closest aides. While Sooyeon manages the business side of things, Seo serves as his primary field operative.
  • The Rival: To Mina. Played for Laughs in Episode 6 when Mina requires help alongside her classmates, who have named their group "Mina Squad" after her, and Seo mistakes it for Mina getting a promotion over Hilde. Additionally, after revealing herself to have been on the heroes' side all along and explaining the CEO's plan in Episode 5, she admits that challenging Mina to a duel wasn't part of it; she did that because she just wanted to beat Mina.
  • Sexy Santa Dress: Her "Memories of a Snowy Day" skin combines Little Black Dress and long fishnet stockings.
  • Starter Mon: She's given as a TASKFORCE Plan mission reward after clearing Episode 1.
  • Still Believes in Santa: One of her post-Lifetime Contract lines in her "Memories of a Snowy Day" skin reveals this.
"If I help Santa out, he'll bring me lots of presents this year, right? What? Oh... hah hah... Of course I'm kidding... I know Santa... isn't real..."
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her Altergressive form has a slight purple hue over her eyes.
  • Uncertain Doom: In "Last blooming days on the campus", her "Broadcast Club Leader" version was last seen boarding her Counter Academy's Dimensional Ship to help rescue her world's version of Yoo Mina; in the "main" universe, the Official Support find that same ship abandoned.
  • Weapon of X-Slaying: The Tech Level 5 Mistleteinn she swipes from the Replacer Syndicate is specifically mean to counter Qliphoth users. Episode 7 takes it further when Lucrecia reveals that it can pierce Divine beings, but it unfortunately lacks its Divinity-piercing core. After it's outfitted with an Alternium Reactor in Episode 9, it lets her makes cracks in space, which allows her to mortally wound Lucrecia in Episode 10.

"My name's Eujin. Em... Err, I thought I had more to say, but I can't remember."

ALT Squad's Assault Member. She's a hothead who tries to solve everything through her fists.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In the Global server, her Rearm version was the first Fury user because it was released ahead of Jaina Kropel.
  • Alternate Self: Her "Cat Lover" skin is technically a version of her from another world, as shown in Last blooming days on the campus.
  • Always Accurate Attack: Her Special post-Rearm has Sure Fire on the farthest available target (which is guaranteed to hit if the target doesn't also have Perfect Evasion).
  • Animal Motifs:
    • Wolves. Lin insists on comparing her to a pig or boar instead (which also manages to be somewhat appropriate for her Dumb Muscle nature and huge appetite).
    • Her "Cat Lover" version's motif is cats.
  • Balance Buff: Received a Rearm that changes her class to Sniper.
  • Big Eater: Her metabolism is so extremely high that she requires around 9000 calories a day (around four-and-a-half times that of a regular human). Her Counter Case lists her as a budgetary concern because of how much she eats.
  • Blood Knight: The most willing to start a fight in the squad and frequently without a plan other than rushing in. Her Counter Case implies that this was a result of her going through the Replacer Syndicate researchers' "isolation experiments" when her admiration for Seo to the point of emulating her was suppressing her own Alternative Factor.
  • Dumb Muscle: She's not exactly the brightest. Her Rearm bio describes her learning how to fight aggressively and effectively when brute force doesn't work, which is why her Rearm changes her class to Sniper.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Her Hound Fangs that she wields in her Rearm initially had Skill Haste as their locked substat, but since her Rearm no longer uses a Cooldown gauge she's more effective with another weapon entirely. An update fortunately changed that locked substat to Attack Speed.
  • Guns Akimbo: Her Exclusive Equipment is Hound Fangs, dual pistols that function properly even when they're thrown by a Counter.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Her Rearm replaces her Cooldown gauge with a Fury gauge.note
  • One-Hit Kill: Her Special post-Rearm can instantly take out any non-Boss Ranger, Sniper, or Supporter below 30% HP (in Gauntlets, this extends to any non-Awakened unit under half HP).
  • Shout-Out: Wields a pair of handguns (one black, one white) that she got from an old guy.
  • Shrinking Violet: She used to be this when she was being roughed up by the girl who would become Replacer Knight during their time as the Replacer Syndicate's test subjects. Her "Cat Lover" version is implied to be how she could've turned out without the Syndicate's influence.
  • Stone Wall: Of ALT Squad. Specialized in Evasion rather than Defense.
  • Uncertain Doom: In "Last blooming days on the campus", her "Cat Lover" version was last seen boarding her Counter Academy's Dimensional Ship to help rescue her world's version of Yoo Mina; in the "main" universe, the Official Support find that same ship abandoned.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Xiao Lin. While generally brash, Eujin rarely outright insults anyone other than Lin, though the two are still very much inseparable.

"I'm Xiao Lin. If the situation becomes unfavorable, I will retreat without hesitation."

ALT Squad's Sniper. Cold and calculative, her observation skills are top tier in the field of combat.
  • A-Cup Angst:
  • Animal Motifs: Birds. Her Counter Case talks about her memory with a bird, and both her Rearms are named after birds.
  • Balance Buff: Received two branching Rearms: one that enhances her Sniper abilities, and one that changes her class to Tower.
  • Cold Sniper: Tries her best to be professional and aloof. More of a Friendly Sniper following a Lifetime Contract.
  • Glass Cannon: Has some of the highest damage in the game as long as she's undisturbed, but she has some of the lowest HP of all Snipers, along with very little Evasion and Defense. Both her Rearms improve her survivability somewhat, but she's still very fragile with her only real defense being killing the attacker with her absurd damage output before they drop her.
  • Master of Your Domain: She can control her own bioelectrical impulses, giving her Improbable Aiming Skills as a result. Her Rearms also have her using this ability to control support drones.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: In Episode 3, she swiftly executes the original Replacer Bishop after Mina defeats her (since Bishop earlier told them that Seo would die if they were too slow), which ends up deeply traumatizing Mina due to Bishop being her former friend. In Episode 5, Lin admits she still feels guilt for doing so and hurting Mina after all she did for ALT Squad, and she isn't able to pull the trigger on Bishop's clone.
  • Number Two: She has led Eujin and Sobin at least four times in Seo's absence: in Episode 3, Episode 5, in the story arc in Dive Levels 46-50, and in Administration Complete.
  • Shoot the Dog: Her Counter Cases reveal that she used to take care of a stray bird during her time at school, and her teacher helped her raise it in a secluded area despite the school's policy to kill any stray animal on sight. It ended up having baby birds, and eventually her teacher ordered her to shoot them as part of her sniper training. She couldn't do it, and after watching her teacher shoot them dead she resolved to take her lessons more seriously. After she thanks the CEO for listening to her personal complaints and leaves, he muses that Replacer Queen may have done it to keep the Replacer Syndicate from disposing of Lin due to her stubbornness.
  • Small Girl, Big Gun: Downplayed; Noted as being the youngest member of her squad, and she has a fairly small stature (with her official height being given as 151 cm; her surname, Xiao, also means small). Her primary weapon is a Barrett M82A1 anti-materiel rifle with what appears to be a nonstandard muzzle break, which tops up around 140 centimeters. The gun tends to be drawn proportionally to the given measurements in-game (making it only marginally smaller than Lin herself), though promotional images sometimes make it proportionally smaller.
  • Tsundere: Very tsun with everyone she meets, more dere to her squad (except Eujin), and very dere to the CEO if she's given a Lifetime Contract.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Eujin. They're frequently bickering or outright threatening each other, but are rarely seen apart.

ALT Squad's Heavy Firearm Combat Personnel. She is usually soft-spoken and gentle.
  • Abusive Parents: It's implied that the people who took her away from her sister and father were hired by her mother.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She is a major character in Episode 2.
  • Gatling Good: Her weapon is a minigun.
  • Hyperspace Arsenal: Her Counter abilities give access to a dimensional pocket that she can tuck an arsenal's worth of weaponry into, along with the requisite ammo.
  • Mighty Glacier: She has high firepower and a very powerful Ultimate, but she also has the slowest movement speed among her team and a high deployment cost (shared with Xiao Lin).
  • More Dakka: Has Minguns, Bazookas, rockets, missiles, and bandages courtesy of her Hammerspace. She only uses one minigun for her basic attack, though.
  • Red Baron: She's infamous in the Dark Network as the "Goddess of Destruction" and "Ms. Big Guns" due to her Split Personality.
  • Split Personality: Usually kind and demure, she sometimes breaks into a persona that other characters call "Goddess of Destruction", although it usually reverts back when she runs out of ammo.
  • Shrinking Violet: Typically the quietest of the group.
  • Team Mom: Does her best to be mindful of ALT Squad's members.

"Name's... Orca... My objective is... to destroy Corrupted Objects..."

There's a rumor that a Counter with a bright red watch will sometimes appear in corrupted areas, tirelessly and recklessly fight the C.O.s, and disappear without saying a word. Few believe this rumor, in part because no-one agrees on what this Counter looks like.

In actuality, there is no single person named Orca; the bright red Counter Watch contains    Orca   . The Watch's current owner is an amnesiac girl with little memory of her previous identity; all she knows is that she needs to destroy Corrupted Objects...
  • Amnesiac Hero: She desperately wants to remember her previous life before she came across her red Watch.
  • Animal Motifs: Orcas, naturally. Her Rearm's Ultimate even shows off the discharged energy as an orca.
  • Artifact Domination: The red Counter Watch containing    Orca    controls its host if C.O.s are nearby.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Being the smallest and youngest of her team, and of Coffin Company as a whole (unless you count Sigma's current personality as being younger), means she often gets treated as such, with Charlie and Jessica having a rather parent-like dynamic with her.
  • Balance Buff: Given a Rearm that improves her attacking and regeneration skills.
  • Berserk Button: The presence of Corrupted Objects causes Orca to undergo a violent Split-Personality Takeover until those C.O. are killed.
  • The Berserker: When Orca gets going, it takes a lot of help or Eternium to calm her down again. She gets slightly better about controlling herself after meeting Eddie. By the time she appears in Episode 5, she's fully capable of reining    Orca    in, seemingly even able to calm it somewhat.
  • Chain Lethality Enabler: If she lands a kill with her Ultimate, her next Ultimate's cooldown is reduced by 40 seconds; with good enough Skill Haste gear she can potentially spam her Ultimate against a line of enemies. Her Rearm allows it to hit two enemies at once when fully leveled; if both of those targets die, she can re-cast her Ultimate instantly.
  • Colour-Coded for Your Convenience: The game distinguishes    Orca    from its host by showing its name in red.
  • The Comically Serious: Orca's expression rarely shifts from a brooding frown and she mostly talks in a dull monotone, even when doing childish things like indulging in sweets and throwing the occasional tantrum.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: In her default skin, she has noticeable dark bags under her eyes, likely due to    Orca    pushing her to exhaustion to kill Corrupted Objects while neglecting her needs. Her Rearm and alternate skins lack them while also looking much less disheveled, suggesting that she's had time for self-care.
  • Expy: Skadi(a fellow orca with white hair) and Projekt Red(a melochonic girl in red wielding a black dagger) from Video Game/Arknights.
  • Healing Factor: She recovers from wounds at a supernaturally fast rate. In-game, it's reflected by a passive ability that heals her every time she gets a kill. Her Rearm instead gives health regen when she takes damage.
  • Heroic Second Wind: During Episode 9.5.[spoiler: she gets thrashed by Levia, but manages to get up for the climatic battle and whip out her Rearm]].
  • Legacy Character:    Orca    is an entity contained in a red Watch, and the Counters it possesses inherits its name by association. Eddie mentions encountering it before when its host was a 40-year-old man.
  • Leitmotif: The eponymous ORCA, a melancholic yet resolute rock theme reflecting both her tragedy and determination. Also has a piano remix for quiet drama moments.
  • Little Miss Badass: A tiny, seemingly school-aged girl that also happens to be a powerful Counter capable of cleaving through Corrupted Objects like butter.
  • Madness Mantra: "Corrupted Object... I must kill!"
  • Nerf: Her Rearm received one shortly after proving to be too effective as a frontliner, raising her cost by 1 and tweaking her regeneration to be more in line with other characters' values.
  • Never Say "Die": An interesting in-universe case; at her team's encouragement, she changes her Pre Ass Kicking One Liner from "I must kill" to "I must smash". While she is still killing Corrupted Objects, changing the phrase helps her stay in control while doing so.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Her real name is unknown on account of her amnesia, so "Orca" is the only identifier she has.
  • Primal Stance: She has a noticeable hunch in battle, likely a result of the    Orca    personality taking over.
  • Psycho Knife Nut: Orca's usual introduction to anyone that happens to cross her path is jumping onto a C.O. and madly hacking it to bits with a dagger. Her split personality also has no qualms about hurting people, though she has enough willpower not to.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: She has a big, prominent one that often hides her lower face and mouth when she's not in berserker mode.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely:
    • She usually dresses like a stereotypical "hobo", wearing a tattered and dirty Sailor Fuku, an equally-careworn overcoat, a beanie, her Scarf of Asskicking, some boots and some bandages, with her hair kept in a rough braid. Her anniversary skin, meanwhile, involves her new Coffin friends helping to get her into something prim and proper for once, and needless to say, the difference is absolutely mind-blowing. With a little red dress, some very cute heels, her hair done in a formal ponytail and a generous number of bows, she's halfway to unrecognizable.
    • In her Rearm skin, she trades out her knit hat and old uniform for Letting Her Hair Down and a clean white shirt with a red tie.
  • Secret Snack Stash: Her touch animation on her Rearm shows that she has a small pocket dedicated to chocolates.
  • Situational Sword: She excels against Corrupted Objects as she gains a massive damage bonus against Corrupted Objects and Replacers, along with self-healing on kill and the ability to chain-execute weaker enemies with her ultimate.
  • Split Personality: There's Orca the amnesiac girl, and there's    Orca    the spirit of the Watch who sometimes assumes control over her. Episode 9.5 reveals that the latter is a split personality of Demon Lord Leviathan, representing her instinct.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: The    Orca    entity forcibly takes over its host and drives it to blindly kill Corrupted Objects at the expense of all restraint and reason, leading to the host eventually dying of exhaustion and neglect of their own needs. Eddie states that, even though she has limited control over    Orca    when they first met, it's only a matter of time before    Orca    fully takes over and inflicts this fate on her. However, Eddie treating and bonding with her seems to have successfully quelled    Orca   , as she eventually became able to fully control the split personality and even seemingly calm it.
  • Sweet Tooth: She prefers marshmallows due to Eddie first using some to get through to her, though anything sweet is enough to get her attention. This applies to both sides of Orca after she gets better control of the split personality, to the point where it can be reined in by the threat of being denied snacks.
  • Terrifying Rescuer: Orca has rescued people from C.O.s on occasion while on the warpath. As she's usually in deranged Screaming Warrior mode at the time, those people are often just as terrified of her as they are of the monsters she brutally slaughtered.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Marshmallows. She roasts some in her camping skin, and her anniversary ball skin involves her being amazed at the combination of marshmallows and a chocolate fondue machine.

Maze Division (Unmarked Spoilers)

    As a group
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maze_division.png
The Maze Division in action. Left to right: Valeriy (Administration Shieldman), Lyudmila, Alex, several Administration Riflemen
An elite division of the Old Administration forces, contact with them was lost during the Administration Failure as they held the line for the evacuation. However, the division's commander, Lyudmila, eventually comes back into contact with Lee Sooyeon, and they are eventually recovered and returned to service under the Administrator once more as part of Coffin Company.

They debut in "End of the Maze", and their members play supporting roles in several other side stories.
  • Badass Army: They rank among the most competent divisions in the Old Administration, which is no small feat.
  • Covert Group: After being recovered, they effectively become Coffin Company's in-house black ops unit whose existence is only known to the CEO and Sooyeon. In "Killer of the Holy Night", none of the other employees and guests recognize Alex when she shows up and claims to be a friend of Machine G.A.P.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite predominantly wearing red and black in their uniforms, the Maze Division are all heroic people.
  • The Last Dance: Their response to being told that they could become C.O.s at any moment? Suit up for battle as there's a horde of Doppelgangers outside the ship to fight. Fortunately, most of the division survives and is able to have their lifespan extended.
  • Living on Borrowed Time: Their containment in Coffin-6 for decades in the Counterside has left them with terminal Corruption Syndrome in spite of Coffin-6's protection measures, meaning that they're effectively doomed to become C.O.s. The procedure done on Lyudmila at the end of "End of the Maze" means they're able to stick around as themselves a while longer, but only while she lives and maintains her sanity.
  • Mother Russia Makes You Strong: While it's never commented on, all named members of the Division have Slavic names (including Alex, which can be short for "Alexandra"), and they're among the toughest Determinators in the whole setting.
  • True Companions: Alex's motherly nature and Lyudmila's protectiveness of her troops means that the men respect them very much in return, making them very tight-knit.
  • Walking Spoiler: Their very nature gives away quite a bit of information about the world and the CEO, to say nothing of the spoilerrific side story they debut in.

"This familiar smell... It's the Normalside, isn't it? Finally, I'm back."

The former Captain and Commander of the Old Administration's Maze Division. Believed to have disappeared twenty years ago.

She's a main character in End of the Maze, and debuted as a Counter Pass unit.
  • Afraid of Blood: According to Lee Sooyeon, Lyudmila used to pass out at the sight of blood when they joined the Administration at the same time. After witnessing many of their colleagues die or get hurt in the field, she went through combat training to work past that fear, because Sooyeon convinced her she won't have to see a drop of blood if she simply blows the enemy to bits at a distance; she'll be too far to see the results, and they won't be able to harm her colleagues.
  • Alternate Self: Doppelganger Lyudmila is the main antagonist of "End of the Maze", whereas the Lyudmila who joins Coffin Company is her near-identical Shadow.
  • And Then John Was a Zombie: The Lyudmila that approached the CEO and Lee Sooyeon in the Normalside was actually a Doppelganger-type C.O., and the real Lyudmila was presumably lost during the Dive twenty years back. Subverted when the real Lyudmila is revealed to be alive, having fought in the Counterside that entire time. Double Subverted when Sooyeon tells Lyudmila that the latter has become a Demon-type C.O. due to her exposure to the Counterside and hadn't realized it. Despite that, she has the Heroic Willpower to remain entirely sane, if at the expense of needing more Eternium (fortunately not actually required from the player).
  • BFG:
    • In her normal form, her primary weapon and Exclusive Equipment is a naval artillery cannon which she operates telekinetically. It's even named "Big Gun"!
A remote-controlled naval gun that matches Lyudmila's belief in "size does matter".
    • Her Awakened form ditches the gun in favor of her own abilities, including turning her own right arm into a large energy cannon.
  • Big Damn Heroes: After being absent for all of "Carnival" undergoing treatment with the CEO, Lyudmila shows up right at the climax of the event alongside Horizon to save Maze Division and Mors from Elysium Philharmonic.
  • The Captain: Of the Maze Division.
  • Cursed with Awesome: By the epilogue of "End of the Maze", Lyudmila has accepted her new form as a Demon-type C.O., since she was able to save the surviving members of the Maze Division by transferring into herself the Corruption that would have claimed them. Even though she will be suffering eternal torment until she either collapses from the pain or dies (at which point the Corruption will claim the others in turn), her troops can always be with her through her newly acquired Shadow World.
CEO: Because the original absorbed the Doppelganger, you ended up becoming a much higher tier C.O. than I imagined. And you got a bunch of new intriguing abilities thanks to the procedure. The Shadow World is a sort of alternate dimension within you. The folks who had their Corruption transferred to you can reside in your Shadow World and come back out whenever you wish. They said they'd stay in there for the time being. The Normalside's atmosphere can feel pretty aggravating for those who have been corrupted.
    • Her Awakened form showcases her as a Demogorgon-type Shadow.
  • Flight: As an Air unit, she can't be attacked by units that can't attack Air enemies.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: To avoid an Interface Spoiler, she is not classified as a C.O. in her base form.
  • Heroic Willpower: Her sense of duty is so strong that she retained her sense of self as a Demon-type C.O. Exaggerated when she accepts enduring the pain of containing her entire Maze Division's Corruption within herself just so they can continue fighting together.
  • Hunter Of Her Own Kind: This technically applies to the Lyudmila that Sooyeon and CEO find in the Counterside after Doppelganger Lyudmila attacks them.
  • Leitmotif: "Blizzard of Steel", a slow, thundering march that she shares with the Maze Division as a whole.
  • Meaningful Name: Her Awakened form gives her the title of "Kresnik" which is a shaman or vampire who hunts evil vampires. An appropriate title for her technically being a Hunter Of Her Own Kind.
  • The Men First: Lyudmila puts the safety of her troops ahead of everything, even herself. When Sooyeon reveals to her that she became a Shadow, Lyudmila is initially devastated at the revelation, and is fully willing to let Sooyeon execute her just because of the chance of her slipping and hurting them; later, she eagerly accepts the procedure to take all of the Maze Division's Corruption into herself, enduring pain for the rest of her life just so they can have more time.
  • Mind over Matter: A very strong telekinetic, whose power is known to be rare and formidable even among Counters. She can use her abilities to fly, operate heavy artillery, and even throw entire buildings at enemies, with her ultimate in-game dropping an entire wrecked ship on her target.
  • A Mother to Her Men: She cares deeply about the members of her division, willing to fight on the frontlines as much as possible to protect them. The Maze Division has the lowest turnover rate of all of the Old Administration's units as a result. This is one of the things that tipped Sooyeon off that the Lyudmila who came to her wasn't the real deal: Lyudmila would never leave her troops' side like that, especially with them stranded in the Counterside.
  • Mundane Utility: The end of "Killer of the Holy Night" reveals that the party's venue was generated in Lyudmila's Shadow World to cut down on rental costs.
  • Named After Someone Famous: Possibly named after Lyudmila Pavlichenko, a famous Russian sniper.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her uniform cuts down into her midriff.
  • Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can: After absorbing her Doppelganger in the climax of "End of the Maze", the latter admits defeat and says she'll be watching how long her original can hold out as a Demon-type C.O.
Doppelganger Lyudmila: I might as well see how long you'll keep this up... as I lay inside you.
  • Superpower Lottery: In-universe, her ability of telekinesis is rare, and her handle on and potential with it even rarer. In her regular form, she's listed as a Grade S Counter; in her Awakened form, her Corrupted Object nature comes to the surface, and is the first playable C.O. whose category is listed as "Beyond Scale", putting her at Category 6 or higher.
  • Terrible Artist: She's mentioned to be awful at arts and crafts, to the point that her handiwork has unintentionally scared children. That bear figurine on her belt? It was apparently supposed to be a bird.
  • Theseus' Ship Paradox: "Bottom of the Shade" shows that when Rita Arsenico and Dash became Ministra and Spira, respectively, their souls were crystallized in Alternium, and the CEO reunited them in an Afterlife Antechamber by purifying it. The Lyudmila who survives "End of the Maze" is technically her near-identical Shadow, but she is Lyudmila, too.
  • Token Heroic Orc: The first Corrupted Object seen in the game that is unambiguously and voluntarily heroic. The only other non-malicious C.O.s seen so far are Lucid's pets, Luna, and Morsnote .
  • Tomato in the Mirror: She's initially unaware that she became a Demon-type C.O. and brushes off Sooyeon's initial claims of such as a joke, until Sooyeon points out the signs: she's fought for twenty years in the Counterside without signs of Corruption syndrome even when it's reached critical levels in her subordinates, she can't remember the last time she ate, and she lost an arm and half her torso which are growing back as corrupted flesh (not reflected in her portrait, thankfully). She doesn't take it well, at least initially.
  • Walking Spoiler: Even for a member of the Maze Division, a lot of her personal info comes from revelations in the story.

"Having a hard time with the kids? I can help with that."

Deputy Commander of the Old Administration's Maze Division. A clone created by the Administration's enemies, she was recruited by the Administration.
  • Antagonist Title: She's revealed to be the eponymous antagonist of Killer of the Holy Night.
  • Balance Buff: Got a rearm that improves her defensive capabilities, and changes her class to Defender.
  • Ballroom Blitz: In Killer of the Holy Night, she heads to the Coffin Company holiday party under the excuse of wanting to try the food and proceeds to temporarily brainwash most of the guests and cause mass chaos, just for the hell of it. She gets berated by the CEO and Lyudmila after the fiasco, and in A Wish that You Don't Know Seo Yoon still clearly remembers her as the one who trashed the party.
  • Berserk Button: She doesn't take well to being reminded of her origins. Uttering the names of Mors or the Elysium members provokes her.
  • The Berserker: At 50% HP, she gains a boost to her stats, and her cut-in even changes to show her Blood Knight side.
  • Braids of Action: She wears her hair in two long braids and is a very proficient fighter who is always seen leading her division from the front.
  • Clone Angst: She's relatively melancholy for her position and the reason for her birth. To make matters worse, she was abandoned for being a failure in her creator's eyes.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite her Red and Black and Evil All Over aesthetic and Blood Knight tendencies, she's actually a heroic character and a good person.
  • It Amused Me: Her motive for being the eponymous antagonist in Killer of the Holy Night? She got bored from being cooped up in Lyudmila's pocket dimension and wanted to have some fun, and also entertain the rest of the division.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Thanks to a popular webcomic idealizing her as such, she got a Naked Apron skin like in the webcomic (with a sweater underneath).
  • Number Two: As Deputy Commander of the Maze Division, she leads the group when Lyudmila is absent, which is shown in Carnival.
  • Parting-Words Regret: A variation with actions rather than words. In A Wish that You Don't Know, she recounts to Seo Yoon that Valeriy had a Sweet Tooth and would often stash sweets on his person during training, and she would always confiscate them. She expresses regret that she never allowed him to have any before he died.
  • Ship Tease: In addition to being a Team Mom, she acts as if the Administrator was a literal Team Dad, referring to her teammates as "our kids". In her "Lethal Guardian" skin, not only does she act like she's his wife, but a photo of him and a model of Machine G.A.P. can also be seen on the shelf above her.
  • Team Mom: She calls her teammates "kids", and often treats them as if they were her and the Administrator's children. In her "Lethal Guardian" skin, she also mentions making boxed lunches for everyone.
  • True Sight: She can detect stealthed units. In A Wish that You Don't Know, she's the first adult capable of seeing Sky through her Perception Filter, albeit only partly.
  • What Measure Is a Non-Human?: She gives an Armor-Piercing Response in this vein to Sooyeon when the latter tries to execute Lyudmila for being a Shadow, telling her that even though Lyudmila's now a C.O. she's still their devoted commander, in the same way that Alex is a clone yet still a very different person from her template and siblings. The rest of the division agrees with her, standing by Lyudmila's side.

    Yegor
An Administration Rifleman in the Maze Division who is Alex's most prominent subordinate.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: He is a distinct unit in End of the Maze and Carnival, with a Deployment Cost of 4 and no second Administration Rifleman to pair up with him. In exchange, he has a Special in which he plants a landmine.
  • Mauve Shirt: Yegor is effectively an Administration Rifleman with a name, getting enough lines to stand out as a character in his own right but never taking on a particularly prominent role, nor does he become a collectible character. Subverted in that he does survive End of the Maze.
  • Nobody Here but Us Statues: In Killer of the Holy Night, Alex brings Yegor to the Coffin Company's year-end party as an "exhibitory sculpture".
  • Number Two: When Lyudmila is elsewhere during Killer of the Holy Night and Carnival, Yegor essentially serves as this to Alex.
  • You All Look Familiar: He's one of the many Administration Rifleman clones of the Old Administration.

    Valeriy
An Administration Shieldman in the Maze Division.
  • Character Death: He is dead by the end of End of the Maze. The playable Admin Shieldman (or rather, Shieldmen) is a separate clone from him.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: His response to his arm being ripped off from the damage done by the Shadows and his own corruption is mild surprise. He later invokes this when he's mortally wounded by the Chronos C.O.; judging from Lyudmila's pained reaction, he's playing off his injuries to not make her sad.
  • Mauve Shirt: Valeriy is effectively an Administration Shieldman with a name, getting enough lines to stand out as a character in his own right but never taking on a particularly prominent role. Unfortunately, he doesn't survive End of the Maze.
  • Taking the Bullet: He protects Lyudmila from the Chronos, and is mortally wounded.
  • You All Look Familiar: He's one of the many cloned Administration Shieldmen of the Old Administration (as non-cloned Shieldmen exist).

    Tasha
An Administration Sword Fighter in the Maze Division.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Despite being part of the Maze Division, Tasha gets a relatively small role in End of the Maze, and is only present in Part 2 via her Doppelganger. Notably, she's not even mentioned in Killer of the Holy Night, A Wish that You Don't Know, or 'Carnival.
  • You All Look Familiar: She's one of the many Administration Sword Fighter clones of the Old Administration.

Unit info

  • Animal Motifs: Other characters liken her to a chihuahua or a tiger cub, while the game's own intro text compares her to a stray cat.
  • Broken Pedestal: She used to be Ozymandias's biggest fan before the latter provided a false testimony at her mom's trial for allegedly selling one of Future-at-War's Cold Cases to the Northern Union, which led to her mom being convicted and both her parents committing suicide.
  • Glacier Waif: Carries a shield bigger than her height.
  • Meaningful Rename: After the first cat in space, aslo referencing her username when she used to watch Mitchie's streams.
  • Off-Model: Her left leg is bent in an unnatural angle, which isn't noticeable in scenes but quite glaring in full view.

  • Meaningful Name: She's named after one of the first animals in space.
  • Mysterious Past: In the epilogue of "Little, Vincent", two Old Administration soldiers comment that Laika's been hiding under their noses.
    • They turn out to be members of The Brothers Abandoned, who want to know what she saw as a member of the Northern Unions space expedition.
