Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Followers:
  • Allies: Viridi, The Houyhnhnms.
  • Rivals: The Murkrow Flock
  • Enemies: Humanity in general.
  • Birds are well-known for being some of Earth's most majestic and admirable creatures... But not all are quite a happy sight, such as this collective of very aggressive and fierce animals. Composed of many bird species joining together such as ravens and seagulls, this special flock spread terror and fear among humans by attacking all at once in the town of Bodegay Bay killing many people. A family attempted to survive their horror and succeeded. Well mostly, as by the time the birds seemingly stopped their attacks they had already taken over town, forcing the family to move out... Only for it to be seen that the birds were on their way to take over the entirety of the USA and perhaps even the world.
  • The birds' ascension was chaotic to say the least, flocks of them attacked all houses at once seeking humans to kill or at least force into hiding. Ultimately more powerful Gods had to step in and drive the birds back even killing several to make them surrender by force. Ever since, the birds lie in waiting in their temple, with no one knowing when they will strike again.

[up]Regarding Snow White, there are at least three other bearers of the name. Any interactions with them?

For the birds, Punishing Bird, Judgement Bird, and Big Bird are also murderous birds, but they will be enemies with the Birds, since all three are Knight Templars who fight evil under the belief that they will protect their forest and its inhabitants from the beast that would destroy it.

Still on a break in profile making, but I'd like to ask something questions for profile content.

Unterzee for Alien Sea: Aside from perhaps Black Cat Mantaray 5-4, I'd like a list of deities who operate post-sail naval ships. Airships don't count (I'll ask for that later), and neither do spaceships. Or as long as a deity's ship either isn't reliant on the wind to move, or can conjure their own wind to blow their sails. Submarines work too (such as Black Manta and Captain Nemo).

A human, in the most ambiguous sense of one, pale-green and incredibly skinny in form, resides in such a barren world, going through surreal and often mind-screwing events, whether they'd be in real time or simply in his imagination, if we were to ever know. On occasion, there are other survivors that meet with the cryptic Salad Fingers, usually with something terrible happening to them in one way or another. Not that Salad Fingers holds any apparent malice toward anyone as he's concerned, with his genuine though odd friendliness towards the few he meets.
  • A few deities scavenging through the battlefields in the Pantheon where destruction had finally eased off and the dust settling down, they eventually found a lone house in the middle of the barren land. Surprised by the existence of this house in spite of the impossibility of such a structure being able to withstand the battles in the Pantheon, curiosity was at its peak when the deities decided to explore the place. They were even more surprised to find that it held a living man within it, who invited them all to spend time with him. The other deities decided to report this anomaly leaving one deity behind to watch him, but by the time the Pantheon learned of the man's appearance in the Pantheon, the deity left behind to deal with him came out of the House of Life and Vitality, traumatised and murmuring about the individual's long green fingers. Once the Pantheon realized that Salad Fingers had found his way into the Pantheon, they deemed it appropriate to let him keep the title of Creepy Long Fingers given how much they stand out.
  • His temple, within a barren wasteland, may be within the House of Personal Appearances, but it's surrounded by metal fences for the good of everyone nearby. Though he sometimes gets out on the rare occasion to wander about, which worries some deities given his dangerous reputation. The House of Insanity in its own sense is more welcoming to Salad Fingers, given his questionable sanity and how all the events in his series are in his perspective. And given his possible psychosis and lack of sanity, the events that the House of Narrative has witnessed of his adventures is too uncertain for them to wrap their heads around, finding attempts to interpret his behavior maddening. It doesn't help that the creator of his series deliberately makes his characterization so unpredictable.
  • It's often unclear whether some of the friends we see him meet are figments of imagination, real characters in his world, or somehow a mix of both. However, Salad Fingers decided to visit Foster's Home of Imaginary Friends since it was within the Pantheon. The Imaginary Friends there would find him to have all of Cheese's weirdness and with a far more threatening presence to simply put it. However, Salad Fingers didn't really decide to do anything harmful that day, but he simply rummaged through the kitchen's equipment and had some mostly one-sided chats with other imaginary friends there before leaving. Due to worries of what he would do, Salad Fingers was hardly met with resistance as he came in and out of the house.
  • Appearing in Newgrounds Rumble, he's familiar with a few of the deities from Newgrounds, especially Pico and Nene who approved of his ascension into the Pantheon. Not so much for Fancy Pants Man however, who prefers to keep away from the long-fingered man. Based on his actions within the raging battles between the Newgrounds reps, it's been determined that in spite of Salad Fingers not having as stellar durability or speed, his strength (on top of his reach) are definitely not something to be overlooked. With such observations, many deities are wise enough to keep a fair distance from Salad Fingers should he wander toward them.
  • Has his own forms of buddies to socialize with in the form of finger puppets, namely his heralds as listed above. Seeing them as real living beings, he communicates with them and treats them like his relatives, with mostly friendly intentions. Horrifyingly, he's managed to turn Hubert Cumberdale into an odd fleshy being by using his sewing skills to give Hubert a body of flesh, and then Hubert Cumberdale actually appeared to become alive for real. It's considered a good idea not to take away said puppets from him, since he definitely will try to go after him, and nothing's as frightening as a determined and possibly mutated man coming for you with ambiguously dangerous intentions. Specimen 6 likes Salad Fingers since he loved to make puppets for children as a mortal, so he's happy to see Salad Fingers play with his finger puppets.
    • His manners of playing disturbed the toys of the Toy Story universe to an extent that they actively avoid interactions with him. Considering him satisfied with his current puppets, they hope that he decides not to look more for toys to play with. They're aware that he doesn't treat his puppets with any mean or malevolent intentions, but Salad Fingers' unstable mind is something they're not going to deal with.
  • Artyom considers Salad Fingers to be too insane and unhinged to handle, despite his friendly demeanor. Although, his lack of genuine hostility means that he's not a really as much of a high priority target as Artyom's other enemies. He's helped the Pantheon mark up Salad Fingers' territory to be able to warn potential deities of the danger within. However, Salad Fingers likes to rip off some of the warning signs to keep for himself, which has annoyed Artyom greatly.
  • If there's anything that Salad Fingers likes for sure, it's rusty spoons. He strangely loves to rub his fingers along them, or anything similarly metal and rusty. Such a fact was something Ginosaji learned the hard way when deciding to make Salad Fingers his next target. Successfully creeping up on the man, Ginosaji began to do his usual business whacking Salad Fingers with his spoon, but Salad Fingers oddly enjoyed the pain. Turning around, Salad Fingers grabbed Ginosaji by the neck and began to pilfer his body, not ceasing from Ginosaji's attempts to hurt him. Soon enough, Salad Fingers found what he was searching for: Some more rusty spoons. Putting down Ginosaji to play with his spoons, the latter gave up trying to slowly kill Salad Fingers and fled while looking for someone else to torment.
    • Roombo also had the misfortune of getting in Salad Finger's path, and the latter proceeded to yank Roombo off the floor and bring them to his house to drop him in some puddle. Due to the lack of functional technology to use for support, Roombo was left defenseless against Salad Fingers who waited for the machine to rust, although some other deities managed to reclaim Roombo before it was too late.
  • Wandering through the wastelands within the Pantheon to find more objects of interest, Chito and Yuuri would end up finding Salad Fingers outside his home waving to them. Deciding to accept his invitation, they managed to cautiously approach and enter his home. Salad Fingers decided it would be appropriate to give them "a fine crowning", which the two learned from him talking to some unfamiliar corpse, and then taking out flesh from a nearby cabinet. Fear settling in, the two wanderers decided it would be best to sneak away while Salad Fingers was occupied, which only succeeded for the man was distracted by a spider hanging on a thread nearby.
  • Don Quixote would also run into Salad Fingers, and found himself horrified by the tall green man. Seeing the man as some spidery man-eating monster, he deemed it appropriate to declare war against Salad Fingers. Salad Fingers wasn't really concerned about the physical threat Don Quixote could pose, but was actually really irked by him screaming of all things, and starting swatting at Don Quixote, which caused them to get an actual fight that ended with both getting knocked down. Don Quixote, finding himself in a bad position, decided to flee to deal with Salad Fingers another day, and Salad Fingers appeared to have a conversation with some imaginary being while on the ground.
  • Somehow stumbled onto the middle of Nowhere and entered the Bagge household, and happily greeted the residents, much to Courage's horror. Finding him to be not much more creepy than many of the monsters and fiends he's met, Courage managed to send Salad Fingers away before he could hurt anyone. However, when Courage decided to head into the rest of the Pantheon, he found himself pursued by Salad Fingers, and at one point, was grabbed by him, and barely bolted out of his grasp and dashed back home. Intimidated by the lanky man, Courage usually checks his surroundings in the Pantheon to ensure he's clear of Salad Fingers if he's still interested in the dog.
  • Found me, the particular SCP of toasting in the Pantheon, and the green man attempted to talk to me apparently aware of my sentience. He wasn't immune to my effects, but who knows if Salad Fingers noticed or if in his mind, he was calling me something different. Eventually, after rubbing his fingers on my body, the encounter ended with Salad Fingers tipping me over since I upsetted the guy for some reason, and he left me alone on my side. Obviously, I did not really appreciate meeting Salad Fingers.
  • Salad Fingers would eventually walk into a tea party between Alice and the Mad Hatter, who were both surprised at his appearance, but the Mad Hatter appeared to be willing to let him sit down with him. With no intend to harm either of them, Salad Fingers decided to sit down and enjoy tea, but more importantly, fixate his eyes upon the kettle used in the tea party. Getting his fingers all over the kettle, Alice decided to speak to Salad Fingers to get him to stop, which did work, causing Salad Fingers to tense up and grow oddly frustrated. Fearing for her life, Alice decided that it wasn't safe to wait for Salad Fingers' next action and quickly bolted out of the party. Mad Hatter wasn't startled by Salad Fingers on the other hand, and decided to let Salad Fingers keep the kettle for himself, and hopes that the next tea party with Salad Fingers can go more smoothly.
  • Despises the Murkrows since they remind him of a crow that stole a spoon of his, which greatly traumatized him. One Murkrow attempted to grab something shiny within Salad Fingers' temple, but the man was ready and managed to catch the bird. The rest of the Murkrow would find that victim to pop out of the House of Life and Vitality shaken and despondent for days from what it experienced upon Salad Fingers' hands, which while difficult to describe, deeply chilled the murder's bones.
  • Oddly dislikes the horse deities in the Pantheon and responds to their presence in an annoyed manner. Some of said deities would prefer to stay away from the man anyway, due to some hand puppet of Salad Fingers known as Dr. Papanak having carved into the flesh of a live horse, if it even happened. It's believed that this behavior stems from a grudge stems from what Salad Fingers believes to be the aforementioned horse from his universe, namely Horace and his other horse friends stripping the flesh from his corpse and friend, "Milford Cubicle" (his name was really Henry, not that Salad Fingers cares) and turning Milford into a skeleton. It's believed that the corpse was really taken apart to make a hat out of the man, the existence of which creeped out many of the humans in the Pantheon.
  • Visited the Hall of Living Objects, and while doing so, wandered into Chucky's temple, greeted by none other than the murderous plaything itself. Deciding that Salad Fingers was good as any other victim, Chucky would draw first blood by stabbing Salad Fingers right in his sides a few sides, but Salad Fingers, while falling over, didn't seem to mind being attacked too much. Scolding the Killer Doll for being too jumpy for some reason, calling the doll "Carly Junior", Chucky was surprised and attempted to grasp the situation, before being grabbed just before he could talk back. Salad Fingers would drag Chucky back into a nearby abandoned shack, and place him onto a pile of tar and sticky paper with the intention of what witnesses interpreted as "grounding" Chucky, and leaving Chucky behind, greatly immobile. It took a while for Chucky to escape, but he's indeed learned his lesson of underestimating the friendly stranger.
  • Harbors much rancor toward mirror-related deities like the Magic Mirror or Dark Meta Knight, since they remind him of his abusive and cruel Glass Mother and Glass Brother that inhabit his mirrors, and tried to take Hubert Cumberdale away from him once. The former has to be more wary since there's always a chance that Salad Fingers might come in to try and shatter him, which can be possible if no one else is present to intervene. Additionally, he stays wary of the Dead Moon Circus, and despite having no way to learn that its leader, Queen Nehelenia, was sealed in a mirror universe, he dislikes her all the same. He's even more worried about Zirconia since to him, she could also try to take Hubert Cumberdale away from him through her Hall of Mirrors.
    • Additionally considers the Other Mother in the Pantheon and his own Glass Mother to be one in the same, and for that, he deliberately destroys specific spider webs to offend her. And unfortunately for the Beldam, Salad Fingers is a (rather creepy and immature) adult that could hardly feed her. Salad Fingers has also made trapping children a much more irritating process, since his presence near potential passages to her realm would scare away children she's trying to lure in.

Given that it can absorb the energy of Demons, which ones would be enemies?

  • Unknown Relationship: The Khan Maykr
  • The Icon of Sin is an extremely massive, powerful and chaotic demon created for only one purpose. To drag the world and eventually the entire universe into Hell. It manifested again through a ritual, taking control of the Betrayer’s son and using him as a host. However, it was unable to accomplish its mission of dragging everything into Hell because of the Doom Slayer’s interference.
  • Arrived to the Pantheon one day when a few deities in the Hall of Demons, lead by Malebolgia, decided to summon the Icon of Sin. However, the Doom Slayer saw this coming and came to intercept them, but the ritual was completed and the Icon of Sin was summoned into the Pantheon, where one of the deities, Malebolgia, decided to fight him. What followed was multiple demons trying to hold the Doom Slayer off from stopping Malebolgia’s plan before it started with The Violator, his superior and the forces of Hell leading the charge against him while the Icon of Sin started to rampage across the Pantheon.
    • Its rampage immediately got the attention of Demon Slayers such as Spawn and Dante Sparda who soon arrived to put a stop to it. However, the Icon of Sin was able to leave through a portal to reach its next destination, attacking them by summoning meteors to prevent them from following. The Icon of Sin appeared in the Hall of Dragons, where a visiting Bowser Junior was nearly killed by it like some of the deities residing there had almost been due to falling debris, fire and energy beams, pissing off his father something fierce. Bowser turned giant and punched the Icon of Sin straight out of the Hall of Dragons before exiting himself to continue fighting against it.
    • The fight got even more heated later when a good punch from Bowser sent the Icon of Sin right into the House of Ambiguity, where Ragna the Bloodedge and Guts decided to help Bowser out in defeating this foe. They were successful in finishing it off, ironically just as the Doom Slayer finished battling Malebolgia, The Violator and the forces of Hell.
    • In the end, many other Demon Slayers such as Sparda, Vergil and Nero were appalled to learn such a thing happened. When asked where they were when its summoning occurred, they replied by saying that HIM and The Beast decided to try their hand at raiding the Treasury...coincidentally 30 minutes before said summoning. Malebolgia snickered at this, proclaiming that this was nothing but a distraction to ensure that the Icon of Sin’s summoning likely wouldn’t be interrupted.
  • The Khan Maykr didn’t know what to think of the Icon of Sin’s ascension. On one hand, the Icon of Sin has plenty of power that could be useful, but on the other, her botched summoning of it due to the Doom Slayer’s interference lead to her being unable to control it. The beast became a major reason why her plans failed because of this. She does plan to have plenty of contingencies in place if she ever wants to summon and try to control it once more so that the ritual would not be interrupted like before.
  • Its ability to drag its surroundings into Hell has it being sought out by the Death Busters with hopes of summoning Pharaoh 90. To do this, they want to use it as a battery and make it so that it drags its surroundings into the Tau Nebula rather than Hell. The Sailor Guardians have been trying to prevent this from ever coming to pass. In a similar vein to the Death Busters, Tabuu also desires to control it. He wants to make it so that it drags its surroundings into Subspace instead of Hell. Of course, he knows he’ll likely have to get his armies to lure it in and defeat the Icon of Sin himself, but this hasn’t deterred him in the slightest.
  • Lucifer considered employing it as a brute for the Grand United Alliance of Chaos, but this idea quickly fell apart when it laid waste to the entirety of an area some of his demons happened to be in hours after he spoke with it, during a battle against the Grand United Alliance of Law no less. Enraged, some of Lucifer’s demons attacked it, only to be swiftly defeated and killed. Lucifer has since decided to abort that plan once he learned that the Icon of Sin’s actions caused YHVH’s forces to win said battle. Unsurprisingly, YHVH sees the Icon of Sin as an enemy for fairly obvious reasons.
    • A few of Lucifer’s demons were later found near the House of Nature by Samus Aran, who came to a disturbing conclusion. They had been infected with Phazon. Finishing the job the Icon of Sin started, she fought back against them when they attacked her to prevent it from spreading, eventually killing the infected Demons. Once they were brought back to life, they revealed that the Icon of Sin had created a portal and punched them through it. They ended up on the Planet Phaaze, where Dark Samus and the Phazon quickly overwhelmed and infected them. They really want revenge on the Icon of Sin for doing this, though none know if it actually intended to get them infected with Phazon.
  • Once got into a fight with Godzilla which nearly destroyed a good chunk of Houses and Halls and deities had to come in and pull them apart before things got worse. People like Hades found it hilarious and didn’t do anything but watch, while the two Kaiju attempted to tear each other apart. Things only got worse when King Ghidorah joined the fight and tried to target Godzilla while he was busy with the Icon of Sin. This forced the Grand United Alliances, Law, Chaos and Evil included (Except for Destruction, who liked the carnage) to step in and end the fight with extreme force.
  • The Lich sometimes watches the Icon of Sin and the destruction it brings, plotting to either possess it to obtain more power in his quest to destroy all life or he might want to forcibly control it into joining the ranks of the GUAD. Neither option is good. Death Phantom is also interested in brainwashing it into serving him as well as the GUAD, which is something particularly worrying as him pulling this off isn’t that farfetched of a possibility.
  • Out of all demons that have faced the Doom Slayer in its universe, the Icon of Sin is one of the only two demons, with Davoth the Dark Lord being the other, that doesn’t fear him. Other Demon Slayers haven’t had any luck in trying to make it fear them, but they only care about destroying and stopping it before it becomes far too powerful to be defeated anyway, lest the Pantheon be dragged into Hell.

@Salad Fingers: I saw speculations that suggest that everything we see him do is all in his head, and that he lived during World War I, given it's also been called The Great War, which he references at times.

  • Complicated Relationships: Nagito Komaeda, Kuzco
  • Usually when people have the option of doing something the right or wrong way, especially if the latter will lead to catasrophe, they would pick the right way. But not everyone adheres to this. In fact, one teenager actually prefers to do things the wrong way. This teenager is Milo Murphy, descendant of Edward Murphy, the man who coined term "Murphy's Law". Milo was Born Unlucky, yet he feels lucky to have Murphy's Law because he feels life is an adventure. After all, what's more exciting, taking a bus to school, or being chased to school by a pack of wild llamas? So the optimistic Milo just enjoys life as much as possible no matter how much misfortune comes by in his everyday life.
  • The Court of the Gods looked over Milo's case and were rather stumped and interested in his story. Namely, how he acknowledges and embraces Murphy's Law, going through life with barely a care in the world despite being a Walking Disaster Area. The Court of the Gods send an invitation to Milo to become a god in the pantheon, and Milo was interested in seeing the Pantheon's wonders and agreed to enter. Despite bad luck ensuing in even in the Pantheon, Milo is hardly fazed and instead marvels at the many wonders the Pantheon has offer. From that point onward, Milo became the Living Embodiment of Murphy's Law.
  • Milo got a welcomed surprised when he crossed paths Phineas, Ferb, and Cadence, having once teamed up with them to fight against the pistachions when they were turning their loved ones into their own kind. Milo was all too happy to see some familiar faces in the Pantheon, especially those he teamed up with in the past. However, he also got a bigger surprise when he met his houseguest Dr. Doofenshmirtz, aka the future Professor Time, as well as Perry the Platypus, the doctor's Friendly Enemy/Partner. Milo also showed his joy when he saw the two in the Pantheon, and when Doof and Perry aren't interacting, the former tends to hang out with Milo as a guest in his temple.
  • He tends to visit the House of Misfortune, knowing that he'll survive since he's experienced Murphy's Law for years. Milo tends to interact with residents who suffered for their bad luck (Eizen), were Born Unlucky (Arthur and Anne Hanakoizumi), or unintentionally brought misfortune to others (Qrow). All of them were surprised that he accepts his misfortune as a part of his everyday, but he explains that what makes life all the more fun. Because of this, he gets along tremendously well with Arthur and Anne, both of whom were very cheerful despite their bad luck, so the three discuss what they can do when going on adventures. Milo shows sympathy for Eizen, Qrow, and Sophie after hearing what they had to go through in life, which is why he wants to help them through their troubles.
    • Milo tends to meet with other deities who suffered from bad luck, such as Zak Saturdaynote , Jackie Channote , and Bensonnote . Milo tends to help these deities look for the positives of their bad luck, though at the same time, he wants to make sure they don't spread bad luck to innocent peoplenote . Results varied, but these deities are appreciative of Milo's kindness.
    • Yuuko has heard of Milo, another person with bad luck that nevertheless keeps a positive attitude regardless, but she's just as surprised as everyone else that accepts and embraces it as part of his daily life. The two of them became great friends, with Yuuko hoping to learn more about accepting her misfortune as an adventure. Yuuko likes to share her jokes and puns with Milo, with the latter not really seeing it as funny but still too polite to say it.
    • Charlie Brown tends to get the short-end of the stick, especially when comes to trying to kick a football (mostly because Lucy tends to pull the football away at the last second, leading Charlie to fall flat on his back). When Milo kicks the ball, it ends up causing a chain of events that ends up that lead to misfortune to whoever he sides with. The two bond over their bad luck, with Charlie surprised by how well Milo takes it in stride, while Milo sympathizes with Charlie after hearing of what he had to go through. He was also outright shocked when he got blamed for costing his team the game even though it wasn't his fault at all, making this one of the few times he gets angry at something bad.
    • Touma Kamijou can be considered a foil to Milo, since he also has supernatural bad luck that makes his life chaotic and leads him to go on adventures. They're also both kind people, having a lot of friends and companions, but whereas Milo embraces his bad luck, Touma hates his misfortune but is willing to endure for his loved ones's sake. That being said, the two got along really well in spite of this, with Milo sympathizing with Touma's struggle while Touma shows some confusion for Milo's philosophy. It's discovered that Touma's right hand can also negate Milo's bad luck, just like how it negates Touma's normal luck, so Milo tends to keep his distance from Touma's hand.
  • Usually when Milo is around, llamas tend to follow. So naturally, Kuzco is annoyed when Milo's misfortune leads him to get turned into a llama once again, more so when he ends up getting lost among a herd of llamas. The llamas themselves dislike Kuzco, and all of Kuzco's allies spend hours trying to find among the herd. Despite Milo helping in the search, Kuzco is still annoyed with Milo's bad luck, so he prefers to keep his distance, though he at still acts nice towards him.
  • Gets along with benevolent time traveling entities, having known Doof's future self and what he has accomplished. Milo shows sympathy for Future Trunks after hearing what he had endure and lose, and is even horrified after hearing of what happened to his world and time. Benevolent time deities such as Chronoa and the Doctor get along with him well, but they prefer not to let him get involved unless it's absolutely necessary since his Murphy's Law tends to be a double-edged sword. Evil time deities on the other hand, hope to exploit Milo's bad luck, something that Milo won't stand for. Milo makes it clear that while he will endure danger, he's not the type to intentionally cause or seek it out, and he'll oppose anyone who intends to exploit him.
  • Nagito Komaeda has luck that varies between good and bad, but his luck has lead to some serious repercussion, as it led to the death of his parents and him developing a complete obsession with the concept of hope. Milo Murphy is a little disturbed by some of Nagito's tendencies, since while he does accusomted to danger, he would never seek it out, yet also sympathizes with Nagito after hearing of his condition. Nagito in turn has asked if Milo has his Murphy's Law was a result of talent, with Milo hastily explaining that's just his way of life. Milo has since preferred to keep his distance from Nagito.
  • Milo has fought against evil plants before in the pistachions, so he is understandably wary about dangerous plant enemies. So when he crossed paths with Cyth V'sug, Audrey II, and Mordremoth, Milo knew just dangerous they were and promised to help the good guys put a stop to them. These enemies in turn have heard of how Milo and his allies were able to stop the pistachions with Wyatt Burp orange soad, so they plan to get rid of any chemicals that can prove toxic to them before the heroes have a chance to exploit it.
  • It's highly recommended not to takeover Milo's theme song. Dr. Doofenshmirtz already tried that once, and ended up in the hospital for his troubles. Because of this, only deities who can avoid getting seriously injures or are Nigh-Invulnerable are allowed to take part in the theme song, and even then, it's recommened to be prepared for any injuries one may get.

Demona, Goddess of Ignored Epiphanies (My Angel of the Night, Demon, Dominque Destine)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gargoyles_character_angela_5f38f27d78fab.png
  • Potential House: Character Actions
  • Intermediate Goddess
  • Symbol: Her Tiara

  • Portfolio: Blaming Humans for Her Own Doing, Being Alone, Being Evil Sucks, Constantly Betraying Others, Hates Humans Especially Elisa Maza, Hypocrite, Tragic Villain, Truly Loves Her Daughter, Being Turn into a Human During the Day, Evil Sorceress
  • Domain: Magic, Revenge, Tragedy
  • Allies: Koba, Shinobu Sensui, Kars, Redcloak
  • Enemies: Goliath, The Hunter, Geralt of Rivia, King Asgore, Mystique, Magneto, Adam Taurus, Queen Beryl, The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, Humanity in general
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Zamasu
  • Demona was once part of the Gargoyle clan of the medieval Scottish Castle Wyvern, and Goliath's ex-lover. Resentful of human prejudice towards the gargoyles, she conspired with the captain of the guard to sell out the humans inhabiting Castle Wyvern to the Vikings. However, this backfired because Demona failed to get the gargoyles away from the castle, which was her end of the bargain, and the clan was slaughtered during the daylight hours. Demona abandoned the castle, returning only to find the six survivors, including Goliath, under the stone sleep curse, leaving her alone for years. This causes the chain of events that would lead her to become bitter and hateful towards, even when most of her misery was self-inflicted. Even when confronted by the Weird Sister about how she was the one who betrayed everyone and wrought tragedy, she ignores that realization and continues to blame humans.
  • One day in the Pantheon, Demona was summoned by an unknown party, leaving the gargoyle dazed, but interested in the new world she finds herself in. However, she is absolutely disgusted to find that the majority of the population consists of humans and non-gargoyles, so she plots to destroy them all. Reuniting with Goliath, who is horrified to find her in the Pantheon, Demona's plans are foiled when Goliath and his allies step in and fought her, forcing her to retreat. After hearing her case, the Court of the Gods decide to give her a title of the Goddess of Ignored Epiphanies, since she proved herself unwilling to learn from her mistakes, even she when she seems to acknowledge it.
  • Many have noticed that Demona's overall behavior feels more in line to a human, at least humans to her, then she does with her fellow gargoyles. Namely she embodies many of the horrible sins she accuses humans of having, all the while being too inculbable to admit it. Despite Demona's claim of trying to protect/save her species, she has some blame for their destruction. She is the one, along with the Captain of the Guard, to betray the inhabitants of Castle Wyvern to the Vikings that got her clan massacre. She is the one who indirectly created The Hunter, hunters who dedicate their lives to destroy gargoyles. And her betrayal of MacBeth to Canmore who destroyed the last Gargoyles of Scotland. Yet she too consumed of hatred to notice these tragic mistakes.
  • Allies for Demona is very scarce. This is because Demona has a tendency to betray any allies she has. But despite that she has made some allies:
    • There's Koba who shares her loathing towards humans. Though, it might be because she is interested in a disease from his world that dwindle the human population. Hearing about the Simian Flu has made Demona interested in using it wipe out the human race, all the while promising Koba that he may rule the pack once humanity is finally extinct. That said, it remains to be seen if Demona will betray Koba once he is no longer needed.
    • There were those who thought she could be allies to Magneto and Mystique, especially the last one since they are so similar in personality and appearance, since they are/were part of an Anti-Human group. However, she still considers them as rotten humans even if they are mutated. The same goes for Adam Taurus who. While he isn't classified as human, Demona still sees him as one. And that his animal features just proves to her how monstrous humans. That said, Magneto does see a lot of himself in Demona and hopes to persuad her to his side.
    • In an ironic twist, Demona found a perfect ally in the human Shinobu Sensui because he was subjected to the evils of men and share her hatred of them. However, she is disappointed when she found out that Sensui's main personality doesn't personally want humans destroyed so much as he desires a desire to atone. Because of this, she's perfectly willing to help Sensui's other personalities supress the main personality to prevent him from getting in the way of destroying humanity.
    • Demona and Redcloak actually seem to get along perfectly, since they both hate humans for their actions their race, while also refusing to acknowledge their own wrongs. Because of this, they tend to work together the best out of all of Demona's alliances. Of course, Demona still ends up being the brains of the operation, and she won't hesitate to stab Redcloak in the back if it suits her needs.
    • Demona and Zamasu are united in their hatred towards humans, but that's as far as the alliance goes. The two despise each other, Demona because even she doesn't want to wipe out every other mortal, and Zamasu becaue Demona is a gargoyle (he even goes so far as to call her hideous). While the two are willing to work together in destroying their common enemies, the two won't even hesistate to betray the other once they decide they are no longer needed.
  • Queen Beryl has some similarities to Demona, namely they both had an Ignored Epiphany and both have love as a motive (Queen Beryl's desire for Prince Endymion led to her deal with Queen Metalia, while Demona has had some lovers that have betrayed hernote ). Beryl believed Demona would become a good ally to her, but Demona has no interest in doing so since Beryl is still a human. Beryl is still willing to find a way to convince Demona to ally with her, since her skills and knowledge would no doubt be useful.
  • The Phantom Thieves of Hearts note that Demona's desires are really distored, and are able to locate her Palace in the Metaverse. Demona's Shadow Self seems to shift between hating and blaming humans to a depressed wreck who's having trouble admitting her faults. Currently, the Phantom Thieves are consulting with Goliath about whether they change her heart to free her from her distorted desires, since Goliath and Demona were lovers once, but Goliath admits that he's not comfortable with Heel–Face Brainwashing to make her change. The Phantom Thieves are willing to wait for his answer, all the while keeping tabs on Demona and promising to make sure she doesn't go too far.
  • Asgore Dreemur opposes her genocidal campain against humans, having learned from experience just what happens when someone lets hatred blind them to what's important. Demona is baffled by how someone like Asgore could overcome his hatred for humans despite what they've done to his son. Asgore has made it clear he knows just how costly revenge is and warns Demona that she'll lose everybody she loves if she keeps going down this path, even reminding her of how her daughter feels about humans. While this did get a reaction out of her, Asgore's sadly, but unsurprisingly fall on deaf ears as Demona refuses to acknowledge the error of her ways.
  • Maybe one of her few redeemable qualities is her love for her daughter, Angela. She was willing to set her hatred against the Manhatten Clan to save her. Also, While her current plans to wipe humanity is partially base on revenge, most often it to assure a safe haven for her daughter.
  • It's been speculated that Demona could be less homicidal if she actually got laid. This is because her gargoyle biology makes her go in heat. And since she been alive for centuries, there's a good chance she overheating and needs a good scratch.
  • While she hates humans, she developed a personal grudge against Eliza Masa, the human who became allies with the Manhatten. At least most of the hate has to do with jealousy of Eliza becoming the "head" female of the clan and being Goliath's new lover.

  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portfolio: Your Head Asplode, Affably Evil, Evil Counterpart, French Jerk, Shadow Archetype, Not So Different
  • Domains: Archeology, Intelligence
  • Allies: Apophis, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Major Toht, Scarecrow, Dr. Evil, Hypno
  • Current Employers: The GUAE, Flintheart Glomgold
  • Unwitting Pawn to: The Shadow Monster
  • Rival: Indiana Jones
  • Dislikes: Red Skull
  • Enemies: Captain Picard, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Wario, Waluigi, Gimli, Link, Mike Powell, Karl Fairburne, Scrooge McDuck, Han Solo, Austin Powers, James Moriarty, Judge Claude Frollo
  • Superiors: George Lucas, Steven Spielberg
  • Fears: YHVH, the Sniper, Beelzebub, Darryl Revok
  • Interested in: Pokémon, Kratos
  • Annoyed By: Michael Bay, Sherlock Holmes, Adenoid Hynkel, Various expys of Indiana Jones
  • Dr. René Belloq is one of the most cunning and ruthless so called “archeologists” in the Pantheon and Indiana Jones’ rival. He is highly manipulative and usually takes advantage of others to do his dirty work rather than do the heavy lifting himself. Whether it’s stealing his rival Indiana Jones’ work or taking advantage of dictatorial regimes, he is a true threat to anyone unwise (or unfortunate) to have dealings with him.
    • However, it’s not his clever mind games or corrupt archeological exploits that got him into the Pantheon, it’s the fact that his head messily exploded when he tried to use the power of the Lost Ark. He is not happy about that and doesn’t appreciate others pointing it out.

  • He is positively terrified of YHVH considering that only a fragment of YHVH’s power caused his infamous head explosion. In fact, he’s terrified of the house of religion and faith in general. He’s actually started refusing to take jobs related to artifacts of any religion, which naturally makes finding work harder, but it’s best to be safe in his opinion.
  • He is also understandably afraid of other head-explosion causing gods.
    • He is terrified of the Scanner Darryl Revok who is known for causing violent head explosions using his telekinetic powers. Revok doesn’t particularly hate him any more than he hates most non-scanners though, and has thus far not gone after him specifically. To make sure he doesn’t start though, Belloq has tried to stay away from his temple whenever possible.
    • He is also afraid of the Sniper, considering he specializes in headshot kills. Sniper doesn’t have any beef with him though, despite his similarities to the Spy.
  • In at least one alternate timeline instead of his head exploding, the Lost Ark’s power caused him to transform into a gigantic eldritch light creature seemingly formed by pure energy that was destroyed by Indiana Jones and Marian Ravenwood. The version of him in the Pantheon is definitely from the main timeline, but after hearing about it, was certainly interested by this. He has been confirmed as incapable of assuming this form in the Pantheon though.
  • After ascending, he meet up with his old colleague Major Toht to discuss what exactly went wrong with the Lost Ark incident. Toht is convinced that it was somehow rigged to do that when opened while Belloq thinks they somehow did the ritual wrong. They eventually decided that it didn’t matter and started brainstorming a plot to get revenge on Indy. They eventually decided that they needed to exploit his fears to defeat him and teamed up with the self declared “Pantheonic Fearmaster” Scarecrow to find his worst fears. Scarecrow eventually found out that his worst fear was snakes using his “fear toxin”. They eventually decided that they needed to ally themselves with a snake deity. So in a misguided attempt to gain more power and get revenge on Indiana, they decided to ally themselves with the Ancient Egyptian serpent demon Apophis. Belloq was initially reluctant to try to use the power of another religious figure, but he was pressured into it by the other two. Apophis doesn’t think very highly of the trio, but has agreed to lend them a small amount of power in exchange for some souls to eat. In order get those souls, The group has had to go to the various domains of the Pantheon to ambush unsuspecting mortals and use a special device to send them to Apophis’ realm. Their mistake was going to the dominion of Hyrule while Link was also visiting. As they attempted to ambush the hero, Link used his quick reflexes to knock the device out Toht’s hands and destroyed it with an arrow shot. After a short battle, the group retreated and are currently in the process of rebuilding the device.
  • He was also introduced to the leader of the Nazis in the Pantheon, Red Skull, by Major Toht early on. Contrary to what one might expect however, they didn’t really get along very well. Skull sees him as an example of why “digging for trinkets in the desert” is a horrible idea and while Belloq admits that the Lost Ark incident was a failure, he doesn’t think that immediately means that all archeology is pointless and that the Skull has had more of his own failures using only mechanical science. The two will still work together if the situation demands it, but they will definitely be resentful about it.
  • He is annoyed by the fact that there are so many expys of Indy in the Pantheon. It’s just another unpleasant reminder of his worst defeat that he can’t seem to distance himself from. Sometimes he has been known to attempt to write to the Court of the Gods to convince them to stop letting anyone who even vaguely resembles him from entering the Pantheon. So far, these efforts have been completely fruitless.
  • He is currently employed by the GUAE, as they don’t have any gods that specialize in archaeology and Belloq needed a job. Right now he is mainly reading up on the histories of the various locations in the Pantheon.
  • As a side job, he also works for Flintheart Glomgold. He was surprised to see that he was a duck (a duck that wore human clothing and spoke in a rather unnatural sounding Scottish accent for that matter), but he pays in real money, so he doesn’t ask too many questions. Glomgold often rants about his obsession with being the “Richest Duck in the Pantheon” and/or defeating his rival Scrooge Mcduck to him and sends him to find various artifacts in the area surrounding the city of Duckburg. Belloq sees him as an idiot, but a useful idiot that provides a good source of money none the less.
    • While attempting to find one of these artifacts once, he encountered Mcduck looking for the same thing. A fight between the two treasure hunters started, which ended badly for Belloq, as he had badly underestimated Mcduck’s fighting skills. When he went back to Glomgold’s Temple empty handed, the duck was furious at him for his falure, but decided not to fire him as he had been quite successful up to that point.
  • Captain Picard is disgusted by him for turning an old hobby of his into a morally wrong way to make profit. He thinks he is a relic of a time when humans were fixated on money that should stay in the past. Not helping matters is that they work for opposite alliances that have been enemies since the beginning.
  • He also has developed an interest in Pokémon after an archeological dig in the Pokemon World. After all the bounty hunting misadventures, he is trying to acquire one as a bodyguard, without much luck so far. He is especially interested in Golurk both as an archeological curiosity and a bodyguard. Fortunately, Golurk is not in the Pantheon. Yet.
  • Indiana Jones isn’t the only Adventure Archeologist in the Pantheon that has made enemies with Belloq. Both Nathan Drake and Lara Croft have had nasty encounters with him as well.

    • Drake had a shootout with him at some point over a Macguffin of some kind in The Great Treasury that ended with both of them badly injured and an interloper named Wario stealing the prize. The two have been enemies to this day.
    • Croft meanwhile was exiting a tomb she had just raided when she exited only to find herself held at gunpoint by Belloq. She managed to fool him into thinking that most of the treasure was already taken and that she had found nothing but a few antique coins. Naturally, as soon as he was distracted by them, she gave he a swift kick in the jaw and ran off victoriously. That trick may have worked on Indiana Jones twice, but Belloq did have backup both times while this time he was both alone, and up against a different person.
  • He later met Wario again, but this time it was a more direct fight. The fight started during a GUAE excavation in the Mushroom Kingdom when Wario attempted to steal the treasure they had found. As it turned out, they had both brought backup. Wario had his usual accomplice Waluigi with him and Belloq had a standard platoon of GUAE soldiers with him mostly consisting of Koopa Troopas and Goombas given that this was the Mushroom Kingdom. After a good deal of platforming action from Wario and Waluigi, all of the soldiers had either been killed, or retreated leaving only Belloq and 3 Koopas, who promptly tried escaped with the treasure on an armored car. One car chase later, Wario and Waluigi had defeated them seemingly for good by tricking them into driving off a cliff. What the suspenders wearing duo didn’t know was that the car’s contents were mostly 1-up mushrooms, so they survived the fall by eating them and simply revived back at the dig site upon exploding. Of course, nobody really won, as the treasure was destroyed when the car exploded.
  • He also dislikes Gimli as the dwarf resembles Sallah, one of Indiana Jones’ allies that gave him trouble during the Lost Ark excavation. Gimli could not care less about it, as the two almost never cross paths. That doesn’t stop Belloq from resenting him though.
  • Bombastic film director Michael Bay once asked him to appear in a movie because he was the god of exploding heads. He refused obviously. Bay still asks him to reconsider occasionally, but has had no luck so far.
  • One of his few actual friends in the the Pantheon is Grand Admiral Thrawn of the Galactic Empire. They both share a fascination with archaeology and have a habit of victory through out planning opponents. They often can be found discussing plans to acquire (through means both legitimate and shady) various artifacts from throughout the Pantheon to add to a collection they have hidden somewhere in the Pantheon.
  • He was eventually captured alive during a raid on a GUAE excavation project by 2 soldiers working for the OSS named Mike Powell and Karl Fairburne seeking to gain information on his collaboration with the Nazis. He told them the truth of what happened, but phrased it as a Sarcastic Confession. Naturally, they didn’t believe him so he told them a completely made up story about recovering an ancient sword with historical significance that Hitler thought would make a good mantelpiece decoration. Realizing that they wouldn’t get much useful information out of him, the operatives just sent him to a medium security prison nearby, which was promptly recaptured by GUAE forces anyways.
  • Belloq denies any claims that he accidentally ate a fly a few hours prior to his original death. Trolls in the Pantheon still like to insult him about it though and for what it’s worth, he does seem to be uneasy about the demonic Lord Of The Flies Beelzebub.
  • He strongly dislikes time traveling gods, as they threaten to make his profession obsolete. He doesn’t act on it though, as he knows he’s not nearly powerful enough to realistically fight a time traveler, even an incompetent one, much less a skilled one.
  • One villain he refuses to work with is the dictator of Tomania Adenoid Hynkel. Hynkel’s sheer stupidity would be enough on its own, but it’s made worse because he only speaks in bizarre gibberish. The foolish fascist tried to hire him to get him something called the Gildesten Macoughiner, but was almost immediately refused. Belloq has tried to stay at least 5 miles away from Tomania ever since.
  • He strongly dislikes Han Solo for a number of reasons. The most obvious is that he looks very similar to Indiana Jones but also because he views his initial exploitation of an ideology for money, but later fully converting to it as something to avoid at all costs. Han doesn’t think highly of him either, and thinks that he’s effectively little better than the bounty hunters he has had to fight over the years.
  • One god that fascinates him is Kratos, as well as being an archeological curiosity, the Spartan Warrior managed to kill several gods and eventually become one in his own right. As a divine being caused his head explosion, Belloq has been closely studying the story of the god-slayer, but has decided not to interact with him directly, as the warrior is quite dangerous to be around and would probably figure out his evil intentions relatively quickly.
  • During an evilness relapse, Dr. Evil decided to ally with him so they can work together to obtain “Ancient doomsday devices for the use of Evilllll!” due to the simple fact that Evil’s Mooks have all failed him (despite plenty of those times being his fault) and Belloq actually succeeded at his goal of obtaining the Lost Ark. He finds Dr. Evil a little bit strange, but overall a good ally to have, considering his main enemy Austin Powers is a complete idiot that couldn’t possibly pose a threat to him. He was right about Powers being an idiot, but he was very, very wrong about him not being a threat. While it is known that they fought each other at some point, Belloq refuses to speak of it, and Powers when asked about just laughs to himself and says something about orange juice. Not long after that, Evil’s relapse ended and now they’re just friends with each other.
  • One god that has been secretly manipulating him is the “Shadow Monster” otherwise known as the “Mind Flayer”. The monster has taken partial control over his mind and has been making him dig tunnels throughout the Pantheon using archeological digs as a front to avoid attracting unwanted attention. Using these tunnels, the monster has managed to set up an elaborate spy network for the alliance it ultimately serves: the Grand United Alliance of Destruction. Eventually, after some investigation, the ruse was discovered. Belloq’s mind was purged of the Shadow Monster’s influence by Hypno and the tunnels were promptly flooded with acid and a death squad consisting of some of the best fighters from each alliance other than the GUAD killed the GUAD Mooks the managed to survive the acidic flood. Or at least, they tried their best, a few of them might have escaped. As for Belloq’s opinion on the whole incident, he claimed that he has no idea how his mind was infected in the first place and that he has extreme gratitude towards Hypno for removing the mental infection. Hypno, for it’s part had a sick stomach for weeks afterwards.
  • One god he has surprisingly befriended is Magolor. They both have an interest in archeology and have had bad run ins with dangerous relics. Magolor has avoided getting involved with his work though, as he doesn’t want to provoke the heroes that defeated him the last time he tried evil shenanigans. They still sometimes just talk about mundane things like the weather or what deities have the strangest titles.
    • Some deities have wondered what would happen if Belloq wore the Master Crown that drove Magolor insane. Most agree that his head would probably explode again. This is essentially a moot point however, as the crown was destroyed several years ago. Belloq for his part doesn’t want to find out considering what he has heard about it.
  • Does not appreciate being impersonated and when he heard about criminal mastermind James Moriarty doing exactly that, he was annoyed to put it lightly. Belloq has been unable to actually locate the Professor however, as he is infamously elusive and can use his many, many identities to blend into almost any crowd. Moriarty being a pain in the rear is one of the very few things that Belloq agrees with Indiana Jones about, and that says something. He doesn’t really have anything to say about the Professor’s rival Sherlock Holmes however, he just thinks he is a bit of a nuisance, but ultimately nothing to unmanageable. Sherlock usually doesn’t have any reason to interact with him and mostly leaves foiling him to people better equipped to do so.
  • He thinks that fellow French Jerk Judge Frollo is a complete idiot that doesn’t have the slightest fathom of an idea of the will of the god that he claims to serve. Upon hearing of this, Frollo had him arrested immediately on the charges of “Slander” and “Blasphemy”. However, surprising nobody, the Court Of The Gods threw the case out almost immediately due to insufficient evidence. Since then, Belloq hasn’t seemed to be particularly fond of the judge, or the GUAL, but he has been much more careful about what he says in public.
