Main Characters

    Lelouch Lamperouge

Lelouch Lamperouge/Lelouch vi Britannia

The former Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire was exiled to Japan following his renouncement of his right to succeed to the throne following the demise of his mother and his sister being crippled during the same incident. He is forced to fake his death following Japan's conquest by Britannia, which Lelouch notes Britannia didn't care if they survived or not, likely presuming they hoped he would've died to provide a better justification for the war.

Years later he is attending Ashford Academy as a student before he gains the Keyblade, which leads to the academy being attacked by the Heartless directed by a mysterious woman who beats Lelouch within an inch of his life while telling him off for his weaknesses. As a result, he can do nothing to prevent Nunnally's kidnapping while he is abandoned in the middle of nowhere on Fódlan until a lord of the Empire comes along to help him find his way to master his Keyblade and find allies to mount a rescue of Nunnally.

  • Action Survivor: Lelouch was this unwillingly as he narrowly survives the events of the first chapter and awakens the Keyblade that same day, but due to his lack of training and how to use it beyond having his genius intellect isn't able to stop Nunnally being kidnapped and banished to another world to become an Action Hero, see below.
  • Action Hero: Lelouch is forced to become this after gaining the Keyblade and getting his butt handed to him by one of the agents of the Harbingers when they abduct his sister. Undergoing a Training from Hell throughout his time on Fódlan because of his body while learning magic on top it forces Lelouch to train almost daily to the point his body wants to give out, but it does begin to pay off later on.
  • Archnemesis Dad: His father, the Holy Britannian Emperor, Charles zi Britannia. Didn't lift a finger to find those who killed his mother, who was one of the Emperor's many wives, especially after his sister was left crippled by bullets and blinded by trauma, not even visiting her. Then when Lelouch confronted him about it, they both got exiled to Japan before months later his home country declared war obviously not caring if Lelouch and Nunnally survived, in fact, Lelouch suspects their deaths in Japan would have benefited the Emperor fueling his hate for the man and his desire to bring Britannia down.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Lelouch shows this during his interactions with some characters, picking up on details that some would've overlooked. Noticed weaknesses to be exploited during the Mock Battle between the houses in Chapter 9, and noticing that the White Paladin of Fódlan, the last known Keyblade Wielder who fought in the War of Heroes was using modern tactics in his battles recognizing them devised by some like Napoleon.
  • Badass Bookworm: Lelouch shows this much more during his time at the Officer's Academy has not only been studying magic while trying to find details on the last Keyblade Wielder who fought in the War of Heroes, surprised and suspicious of the lack of information despite having fought for the Church and the Empire.
  • Chick Magnet: Lelouch, as in canon, was popular among the female students of Ashford Academy, but now in the Officer's Academy he gains the attention of most of the female students because he wields the Keyblade, a weapon not seen or used by anyone for a thousand years, which annoys him. But this also does cause him to feel sorry for his teacher Byleth when she manages to draw a crowd herself.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Lelouch plays this up combining his knack for tactics and strategic cunning to get the most out of his battle mixing magic and swordplay, even freezing the ground to create a trap hazard for his enemies to take down more skilled combatants, just ask Ingrid and Felix.
  • Magic Knight: In Fódlan, and Fire Emblem in general, most mages of the series are not suited for close combat unless they are wielding a magic weapon which even then most would be better off hanging back and attacking from a range. As a Keyblade Wielder, Lelouch becomes this, but he takes advantage of the fact he can hit hard in a melee and cast spells faster than most mages to become a dangerous threat on a battlefield which Lelouch shows during the mock battle able to easily switch between spell casting and close-quarters combat very quickly.
  • Ghost Memory: in Chapter 12, Lelouch demonstrates the same ability as the Warrior of Light to see the memories of others through their souls, something that confuses him, wondering how he possess such an ability.
  • Mental World: Lelouch usually meets with and undergoes training with his Anonymous Benefactor within his mind, teaching him magic. It is helpful since dreams can seem to last longer and allow for more time for training, this has helped Lelouch gain a greater and quicker grasp on magic. However, as of Chapter Ten, his Annoymous Benefactor decides to take Lelouch's training to the next level, so she has him arrive in Ljósálfheimr to undergo further training meeting Peony, and in the dream world Lelouch still has plenty of time to train and will later be told whatever training he undergoes, not only will he remember it, but his body will record it as muscle memory.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: Despite being surrounded by people like Plumeria and Triandra who are both very attractive women, especially Plumeria who gets uncomfortable when people look at her lustfully due to her appearance, but thankfully Lelouch averts this much to her relief and appreciation.
  • Sword and Sorcerer: Forms this with Lysithea during the mock battle against the other two class houses in Chapter 9.
  • The Paladin: Only in name, because as of Chapter 11, Lelouch gains the means to access the powers of the Paladin class from Final Fantasy XIV thanks to a Soul Gem provided to him by Azem giving him access to holy and light-based offensive and highly defensive abilities with his Keyblade becoming a Sword and Shield complete with plate armor.
  • Training from Hell: Lelouch is put through this, because he wasn't strong enough to fight his way out of a paper bag, by Lord Solus, Byleth, and later Ingrid and others in the story to toughen Lelouch up. Not that the results were worth the hell.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Following his intense training at the hands of Byleth and Solus, now Lelouch is a Combat Pragmatist Magic Knight combined.

    Sora

Sora

The hero and the protagonist of the Kingdom Heart series, just like in his home game Sora was living on Destiny Islands until the Heartless came and claimed the heart of his home. Arriving in a place called Traverse Town, with the Keyblade he gained in hand. Sora gains the help of the locals to help him gain a better grasp of using his Keyblade while trying to secure a means to search the worlds and find his missing friends Riku and Kairi.

However, he is joined by two unexpected allies commanded by their king to find someone like him.

  • Action Hero: Despite lacking the experience and proper training, Sora was naturally skilled and athletic enough to fend off dozens of Heartless with the Keyblade and fight a gigantic Dark Side even as the islands crumbled. Sora now resolves to find his friends and put a stop to the Heartless, but lucky for him he won't be alone.
  • Action Survivor: Becomes this after Destiny Islands are lost to the Heartless and spends time learning how to use his new weapon before going on a quest with Donald and Goofy to find his friends and stop the Heartless threat.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Sora may not have the genius intellect of Lelouch, but it's worth remembering that Sora, unlike many Keyblade wielders before him, Sora is self-taught with only Merlin and a few others providing some instruction. Even then he is a fast learner, such as gaining a good grasp of magic and using it effectively in combat and some weeks under Merlin's tutelage and during Chapter 10 he begins mixing magic with his Keyblade strikes after observing Alisaie's fighting style as a red mage attempting to copy some of her moves.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Sora is one of the nicest characters who is compassionate and cheerful no matter what comes his way, but he becomes naturally gifted in defeating the Heartless and monsters after a short time.
  • Book Dumb: Understandable given he grew up on Destiny Islands where everyone lives a rather simple life, so when he sees the advanced technology used by Hordak and Entrapta it makes sense he would get confused about it, and overly long explanations on complicated subjects can confuse him.
  • Cheerful Child: Sora is naturally this.
  • Childhood Friends: Of course, as in canon with Riku and Kairi.

    Donald Duck

Donald Duck

The Court Magician of King Mickey's Court is notable for having an infamous fiery temper, but Donald is loyal to his friends and the king. When he discovers King Mickey's letter and orders to find a Keyblade Wielder, Donald and his friend Goofy take off to search for him or her, which they do succeed in finding Sora.

  • Angrish: This is Donald Duck after all and even on a normal day when he is calm, some of the things he says cannot be understood, but when he gets angry any chance of understanding a word from him when he is in a furious rage is impossible.
  • The Archmage: Being recognized as the Court Magician recognizes him as such, and in battle against the Heartless he proves his magical power by blasting his fair share of Heartless.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: For all of his comical quirks, Donald has proven why he is the Court Mage and it's still early in the story.
  • Blue Is Heroic: His usual attire is always blue.
  • Butt-Monkey: Nowhere as bad as Pete gets it, but if there is comedy to be had it's usually at Donald's expense.
  • Court Mage: For Disney Castle, using his magic to protect and defend his friends and allies while likely to use said magic to disguise his friends as needed to protect the World Order.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Donald tends to do this, especially to Sora.
  • Ditzy Genius: He is a talented and powerful mage in his own right, but Donald's stubbornness and lack of common sense can impede him and work against him.
  • Good is Not Nice: Donald is less interested in finding Sora's friends and agrees to look for them since they got to find the King, and there are some hints that he would prefer the Warrior of Light to be the one with the Keyblade instead of Sora.
  • Hot-Blooded: He is Donald Duck, he is the definition of hot-blooded, especially with that explosive temper of his.
  • The Napoleon: He's the shortest and easily the one with the most explosive temper of the group.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite his short size Donald is capable of casting some very powerful and destructive spells and could wipe out groups of lesser Heartless on his own very quickly.

    Goofy

Goofy

The Captain of the Guard at Disney Castle and friends with Donald Duck and King Mickey. Although his mild-manneredness and clumsiness can hide how much of a capable fighter he is wielding only a shield in battle. He joins Donald on his journey to find King Mickey after he left while instructing them to find a Keyblade Wielder.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Despite not looking like a threat, which isn't helped by how clumsy he can be, Goofy has proven in battle that he earned the rank and title of being Captain of the Guard for good reason.
  • Badass Normal: When compared to Donald, the Court Mage, and Sora the Magic Knight, he brings pure physical power into a fight using a shield as a weapon.
  • Bash Brothers: Forms this with Donald and Sora.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Being Goofy this can be expected since he is known as a comical clumsy good-natured fellow, but one mustn't forget he is the Captain of the Guard and likely he earned that rank and he has proven in the battles so far.
  • Dogface: He is a humanoid dog.
  • Genius Ditz: He is clumsy, dimwitted, and slow on the uptake, but he is the more level-headed between Sora and Donald tending to think more rationally than the other two sometimes.

    Entrapta

Entrapta

The Princess of Dryl and a highly intelligent inventor, but she is not without her own quirks. Cheerful and eccentric, Entrapta can easily become distracted and intrigued by new machines and technologies she comes across having a drive for scientific research, which has been beneficial at times yet it has gotten her into trouble more than once. Following an incident on her world, she and Hordak end up in Traverse Town using their skills to help Sora and other refugees who ended there after their worlds are destroyed.

  • Admiring the Abomination: If it's related to science and it intrigues her, she'll want to get a closer look at it no matter what it is.
  • Achilles' Heel: If it's a robot or fancy piece of technology expect Entrapta to vanish for awhile, which is how she and Hordak ended up at Traverse Town when she snuck aboard one of the Harbinger's transport ships and their attempt to seize control of the ship ended badly. Then this happens again when Donald and Goofy make the mistake of leaving their Gummi Ship unattended which results in Entrapta dismantling it to study it. However, she does not only put it back together, but she makes some useful upgrades and modifications doing so.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!!: When it comes to robots and other forms of technology.
  • The Engineer: Replacing Cid in this role, Entrapta uses his knowledge and study of Gummi Blocks to upgrade the Highwind, after she took it apart to study it. She'll later use these skills to build Gummi Ships for other characters when needed as confirmed by Word of God.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: Serves this to Hordak and Merlin as her skills make her very useful.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Entrapta has worked on this and tried to get out of this habit with Hordak's help, but there are mixed results.
  • Instant Expert: Becomes this with Gummi Blocks after studying them and taking the Highwind apart to examine it.
  • Interspecies Romance: She and Hordak, who is clearly a different species are this.
  • Mad Scientist: A more well-meaning version of the trope, but sometimes her curiosity can get the better of her.
  • Prehensile Hair: She has really long twin-tails of purple hair, but they also have cybernetics within them, sometimes acting as extra limbs or containing tools within them that she can use at will.

    Hordak

Hordak

The former leader of the Horde and once a defective clone of Horde Prime who had been stranded on Etheria, but soon regretted rejoining Horde Prime suffering at his hands before finally rebelling against him. Hordak has since renounced his former ways and pursued a relationship with Entrapta while trying to use his skills to aid in any way he can. He applies these skills after he and Entrapta end up stranded in Traverse Town.

  • Arm Cannon: His new battle suit he uses against the Guard Armor has one.
  • Attack Its Weak Point: He deduces the weakness of the Guard Armor, realizing its main body is the core for the whole creature, and destroying its limbs would remove any ability for it to defend itself.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: He originally had gray skin, a white face, and blue hair, then after meeting his creator he was "restored" to his original/correct image, but after events of season five he had reverted his appearance back to his original form, most likely of not wanting to have anything in common with Horde Prime.
  • Artificial Human: He was originally one of Horde Prime's many cybernetic clones.
  • The Atoner: Many of his actions in the story are to atone for his previous actions as leader of the Horde.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: He sometimes serves as this for Entrapta to keep some of her sometimes problematic quirks in check.
  • The Comically Serious: He is still this at times, but he has lightened up more.
  • Genius Bruiser: He is a highly intelligent scientist and former Evil Overlord who has led his own forces into battle in the past and has proven capable in a fight using Powered Armor in a fight.
  • Heroic Willpower: Has this from near the end of the fifth season, and has likely carried into the story.
  • Retired Monster: More like retired Evil Overlord, but Hordak has turned over a new leaf and resolved to work with Entrapta to make up for his past deeds to make amends.
  • Only Sane Man: Hordak acts as this between Entrapta and sometimes on occasion Merlin being more level-headed and reasonable in his handling of situations and providing needed exposition.

    Merlin

Merlin

A resident of Traverse Town, and a wise and powerful wizard. His original world was no doubt consumed by the Heartless, and despite being something of an eccentric his skills and knowledge of magic are not to be doubted, and he works with both Entrapta and Hordak to protect Traverse Town while helping Sora gain an understanding of magic before teaching him how to use it. For more on him, check here

  • The Archmage: He is a very powerful wizard, since both Hordak and Entrapta arrived he has likely defended Traverse Town against the Heartless on his own given the threat they represent while managing to keep order in the town among the growing number of refugees. He has even taught Donald most of what he knows and is likely the one who contacted him about Sora, allowing Donald and Goofy to meet.
  • Cool Old Guy: Fits this being a powerful wizard and a capable teacher.
  • Magic Versus Science: Averted, so far, because he seems to have a better relationship with Hordak and Entrapta compared to Cid from the main game, which might be due to the fact that the two came from a world where magic and science go hand in hand.
  • Magic Wand: Uses one as his main weapon.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: His standard attire.
  • The Mentor: He serves as this to Sora teaching him the basics of magic and helping him use it in battle.
  • Wizard Beard: Has a long white one.
  • Wizard Classic: He is a wizard in both appearance and mind.

Earth (World of Code Geass)

The first world introduced in the story and is home to Lelouch and other characters. The world of Code Geass is one of many different versions of Earth being similar, except history changed and diverged down a different path leading to the world of Code Geass where it has three superpowers, The Holy Britannian Empire, United Republic of Europia and the Chinese Federation. Lelouch lives at Ashford Academy with Nunnally before the attack on the academy in Chapter 1 in Japan, which has been renamed Area 11 since Britannia conquered it seven years ago.
    General
  • All Nations Are Superpowers: While there are a few smaller nations, the world is mostly divided between Britannia, the E.U., and the Chinese Federation.
  • Alternate History: Code Geass has some moments different from our own world history, but the biggest changes would be the fact that the American Revolution failed and the Age of Revolution caused by the French Revolution grew beyond France causing drastic changes and Napoleon succeeded in invading Britain, and on top of that a valuable resource called Sakuradite further influences technological innovation more so than in real-life Earth.
  • Airstrip One: Most countries like Japan are called Area 11, the number in which it was conquered with Britannia having conquered ten other nations or islands before Japan.
  • Badass Family: The Royal Family of the Britannian Empire, but while their views which also subverts the trope a bit as they fight each other which is indirectly encouraged to ensure the one who survives is worthy of becoming Emperor, which Lelouch thinks is why his mother ended up dead and his sister crippled.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Japan was victim to this by Britannia, and although Britannia had accessed a new weapon called Knightmare Frames, which people think were key in Britannia's victory over Japan forcing it to surrender after a month of fighting. In reality, Britannia overwhelmed Japan, defeating its navy and air force very quickly, invading from three sides at once, and overwhelming the Japanese military.
  • The Empire: The Holy Britannian Empire, created from the defeated remains of the British Empire that fled to America after Napoleon conquered Britain.
  • The Social Darwinist: Britannia's nationally accepted view which goes up to the Royal Family which they feel makes them justified in conquering the world. As revered in later chapters, the Harbingers have given Britannia advanced tech, which has been enabling them to begin conquering more of the world after bringing Japan's resistance elements to heel .
  • Super Breeding Program: In Chapter 13, its revealed by Azem that Lelouch's Echo comes from her own blood and that of her grandfather Emet-Selch, which her blood was introduced into the Royal Family of Britannia and others on his Earth, as part of a multi-world effort to help produce potentially powerful Keyblade Wielders, which also means others on his world especially within the Royal Family could have the same potential as Lelouch.
  • Uncertain Doom: Following the events of the first chapter, Lelouch is uncertain if Sayoko, Milly, Rivalz, Shirley, and Nina survived the zombie/Heartless attack on Ashford Academy.

    Sayoko Shinozaki

Sayoko Shinozaki

The loyal maid and unofficial protector of the Britannian Siblings, despite being Japanese she is close to the siblings and Lelouch trusts her completely. She does her utmost to protect them while helping Lelouch and Nunnally attempt to escape Ashford Academy but is defeated with her fate unknown.

  • Badass Adorable: Sayoko is very sweet and kind as well as endearingly loyal to Lelouch and his sister, but is deadly in a fight given her ninja training.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Suffers this at the hands of Thrasir after fighting off the zombies and Heartless she summoned, which is very impressive.
  • Ninja Maid: She fits the trope to the T, being a highly skilled ninja and heiress to a dojo on top of her domestic skills.
  • Uncertain Doom: Sayoko's fate is unknown after she is defeated, which is one of the things that has haunted Lelouch since that night.

    Nunnally Lamperouge/Nunnally vi Britannia

Nunnally Lamperouge/Nunnally vi Britannia

The younger sister of Lelouch, and one of the Princesses of Heart, fitting that she is a kindhearted girl and compassionate despite the horrors she faced as a child. She was even a former princess alongside her brother as part of the Royal Family but was exiled to Japan alongside Lelouch sometime before the war between Japan and Britannia began. Presumed dead in the resulting war, she has adopted a new identity along with her brother and lives with him at Ashford Academy until the events of Chapter 1.

  • Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by the Harbingers despite the best efforts of Sayoko and Lelouch with the latter being beaten within an inch of his life for his inability to use the Keyblade properly.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Lost her ability to walk due to bullets that tore into her legs leaving her paralyzed from the waist down, and was shielded by her mother who died as a result. She was even found held in the arms of her dead mother, traumatizing her and leaving her blind as a result. And that is before she and Lelouch got exiled to Japan and was left unable to do anything, especially when war between Japan and Britannia broke out relying on Suzaku and Lelouch to keep her safe as a war raged around them then.
  • Delicate and Sickly: Being unable to walk and rendered blind by trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
  • Disabled Means Helpless: Regrettably so, even as she and her brother are surrounded by Heartless in Chapter 1 and can do nothing as her brother is beaten within an inch of his life.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Due to the trauma-induced blindness caused by her mother's death.
  • Morality Chain: Serves as this for Lelouch.
  • Nice Girl: Nunnally is a sweetheart and is kind and compassionate, especially to those friends of her brother.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Nunnally is without question one of the nicest and most kindhearted girls one can meet despite everything she had been put through.

    Charles zi Britannia

Charles zi Britannia

The 98th Emperor of Britannia, and the father of Lelouch and Nunnally along with many others through his one-hundred and eight wives, a cold yet pragmatic man who shows little care for any of his children and is a well-known Social Darwinist within a nation that has built itself up on such ideas since its early days. He is Lelouch's enemy and the one he desires revenge against for letting his mother's killers avoid punishment, exiling them to Japan and leaving them to die, and all of that including how he treated his own disabled and blind daughter.

  • Abusive Parents: As stated above, Charles is probably one of the worst parents in the series, having done nothing after his wife, Marianne, was gunned down by terrorists, didn't visit his daughter, Nunnally, who barely survived becoming crippled and blind from the trauma. Then when Lelouch confronts him about it, Charles banishes both siblings to Japan to serve as political hostages, only to go to war with Japan months later making an effort to recover them. Lelouch assumes this was intentional so their deaths could give Britannia a better justification, but Charles is also this to the vast majority of his children if not all of them.
  • Anime Hair: His hair certainly stands out as unique.
  • Archnemesis Dad: To Lelouch.
  • Badass Cape: Fitting that he is the Emperor of Britannia and one of the most powerful men in the world.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: The Britannian Royal Family as a whole is this, and he hasn't done much to fix it.
  • The Emperor: Charles is of course the Emperor, and the 98th Emperor overall in Britannia's history.
  • Evil Old Folks: The man is in his sixties, and is the Emperor of an Empire driven by a Social Darwinist ideology seeking to conquer the world while being a horrible parent.
  • Large and in Charge: Despite being in his sixties Charles is quite large, towering over most characters, and has a muscular body in his advanced age.
  • The Patriarch: The Emperor of Britannia, who has fathered a number of daughters and sons through his many wives.
  • Royal Blood: He is the Emperor of Britannia who hails from a long royal line.
  • Royal Harem: Has one hundred and eight wives.
  • The Social Darwinist: Publicly a believer of this, given this concept is widely embraced by the Empire.

Fódlan (World of Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

The first world Lelouch is sent to against his will in the hopes he'll survive and grow as a Keyblade Wielder or die, but thankfully he is found by a wealthy eccentric lord intrigued by the legends of the Keyblade and wishing to see its wielder and power grow firsthand, seemingly to satisfy his curiosity. In many ways, it's similar to a medieval-era Earth, but Lelouch begins to notice some differences that set it apart and make it unique.
    General
  • Absurdly Divided School: The Officers' Academy at Garreg Mach Monastery students are divided into three class houses based on which of the three nations of Fódlan they hail from. For example, those from the Adrestian Empire go to the Black Eagle House, those from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus join the Blue Lions House, and lastly, those from the Leicester Alliance go to the Golden Deer House. However, there are instances where a student can change houses or be moved into another one if deemed needed. This happens to Lelouch as he is put into the Golden Deer House despite he would've joined the Black Eagle House due to the fake backstory Lord Solus created for him.
  • All the Other Reindeer: The people from Duscar are treated with suspicion or at worse hostility due to the Tragedy of Duscar. This is usually true for anyone coming from outside of Fódlan with the exception of a small few, but it was enough for Lord Solus to justify fabricating a fake backstory for Lelouch.
  • Blessed with Suck: What the Crests amount to in the eyes of Lelouch and those looking at Fódlan from the outside. On the surface being granted a powerful crest by the bloodline of your family may seem cool since you can gain potent magical abilities and/or superhuman capabilities. But, as a trade-off, as Lelouch deduces having a crest means you are more valuable as a way for your family to improve their social standing by forcing you to heed their wishes by ignoring what you want. It's worse if you are a woman since you'll likely be married off to a loveless marriage, where you could suffer abuse or worse. Not having a Crest will likely get you disowned by your own family, which might be better since you'll be free to live your own life than you would've with a Crest. This knowledge causes Lelouch to ask Hanneman and Lysithea to keep quiet about his possession of a Crest, which thankfully they agree to do.
  • Blood Magic: In a sense what Crests are since they are power passed through the blood of notable families.
  • Blue Blood: The three kingdoms of Fódlan host many noble families who are descended from the Ten Elites, the first warriors to possess the first Crests, the Leicester Alliance is actually an alliance of noble families who don't have a King or Emperor, ruling by a council of six of the greatest noble families.
  • Cast Full of Rich People: With the exception of Leonie, all of the major cast members come from a family of nobility or a wealthy merchant family attending the Officers' Academy.
  • The Church: The Church of Seiros is one of the most powerful organizations in Fódlan where they hold a considerable amount of power and influence among the three nations and help maintain the peace through their army of knights while hosting members of the nobility and their future leaders at the Officers Academy.

    Solus zos Galvus

Solus zos Galvus

A mysterious lord from the Adrestian Empire who discovers Lelouch shortly after he is cast into the world of Fódlan, although Lelouch is understandably suspicious, he ends up accepting his offer to help him master the Keyblade despite his reasonable concerns seeing no other choice since he was in a foreign world with no other friends, allies or resources to call on.

Even among the nobility of the Adrestian Empire, Solus zos Galvus is known as a cunning politician and one of the wealthiest men in the Empire, if not all of Fódlan. His family has been involved with the Empire since its founding days, and Solus is one of the Empire's most powerful and influential men. He is also the owner and key backer of the Mittelfrank Opera Company while owning many crafting, artistic, building, and trading businesses allowing him a considerable amount of wealth and influence even beyond the Empire's borders.

His true goals and motives for helping Lelouch are unknown at this time.

  • Assassination Attempt: Solus has been the victim of dozens of attempts throughout his life that they are commonplace, but those who sent the assassins would usually end up in trouble with Solus and can indirectly get retribution upon them if he is unable to get back at them through normal means.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: As cheerful and eccentric he may appear to be, every backstabbing and corrupt noble in the Empire knows not to screw with Lord Solus, having survived the Insurrection of the Seven unharmed, and even dealt with numerous assassination attempts, usually those responsible having some terrible misfortune befall them.
  • Badass Fingersnap: Does this whenever performing magic, which he has mastered to such a degree he can do so.
  • Character Tic: Solus has two, the first is a habit of doing a flippant hand wave whenever he leaves, and he snaps his fingers when performing a spell.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Combined with his cheerful and trollish nature, he tends to do this with some people, even Lelouch.
  • Eccentric Millionaire: Basically Fódlan's equivalent of this being noted as being the richest man in the Empire and possibility all of Fódlan, thanks to having earned money from many successful businesses, a certain opera company, and beyond. He's rich enough to easily pay off Jeralt's debts, mainly all of the unpaid bar tabs he had across Fódlan without it negatively impacting his wealth in the slightest.
  • Expy: Suspiciously similar to another character of a similar name from Final Fantasy XIV.
  • The Archmage: During the bandit attack on Remire Village, Solus proves his skills and powers in magic, causally striking down bandits with an easy snap of his fingers. He even teaches Lelouch magic and how to tap it using the Keyblade. Noted by some to be one of the strongest magic users in the Empire.
  • Wealthy Philanthropist: What most of the Empire's people see Solus as, having made many donations and supported orphanages creating a very positive public image even funding the Mittelfrank Opera Company as the owner.

    Jeralt Reus Eisner

Jeralt Reus Eisner

The leader of Jeralt's Mercenaries and the father of Byleth. He appears in the story as someone Solus hires to train Lelouch, which ends up falling to his daughter to take on. Although reluctant, he agrees, partly because of the hefty sum promised and paying off all of his debts (specifically his unpaid bar tabs he had across the continuant to the point he was no longer welcomed in any taverns.

Following the attack on Remire Village by bandits, Jeralt is asked to rejoin the Knights of Serios, revealed to have once been the Captain of the Knights famously known as the Blade Breaker. He becomes the Captain of the Knights again, despite having left the post over twenty years ago, while his daughter becomes the new Professor at the Officer's Academy.

  • The Ace: He isn't known as the Blade Breaker for nothing, hailed as the mightiest knight in the land, and even raised his own mercenary company into the best of the best under his leadership. Even raising his daughter to become a feared warrior herself under his parentage as her father.
  • Functional Addict: Jeralt is an alcoholic, although he does drink a lot and he manages to keep it from negatively impacting his ability as a warrior, leader of a band of mercenaries, and a father raising his daughter alone. But, this has somehow managed to leave him in debt to every tavern across the land with a ridiculous amount of unpaid bar tabs.
  • Red Baron: Known as the Blade Breaker and is renowned as the strongest knight within the Knights of Serios.
  • Retired Badass: Partially true, or at least from the Knights of Serios as some thought. He just formed his own Mercenary group.
  • Secret-Keeper: Alongside his daughter, he knows Lelouch's true origins, but because of the potential issues Fódlan views on foreigners can cause him, they keep quiet and use the cover story Solus has provided.
  • The Stoic: Can sometimes come off of this during battle, but outside of it he relaxes a bit. Some note this makes Byleth and Jeralt very similar.

    Byleth Eisner

Byleth Eisner

Jeralt's daughter and the top warrior of his mercenary group, earning fame and fear across the land as the "Ashen Demon." She becomes Lelouch's teacher, putting him through rigorous training to strengthen him before moving on to teaching him how to fight with his Keyblade. However, following the bandit attack on Remire Village, and saving the three future leaders of Fódlan combined with the surprise she has been training a Keyblade Wielder, the first one seen in Fódlan since the War of Heroes, leads to her accepting a job as the new Professor in the Officer's Academy, becoming the teacher of the Golden Deer class.

  • The Ace: Being taught and raised by the Greatest Knight in Fódlan led to Byleth growing up into a warrior who has never lost a fight in battle and was widely feared by her enemies and other mercenary groups able to face scores of enemies on her own.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: As a result of having lived as a mercenary most of her life and seen plenty of battles combined with her father's training, Byleth has an impressive analytical ability that supports her as both a warrior and a leader, such as being able to pick up on the underlying nature of each of the three young lords and read Lelouch's moods when he tries to hide them.
  • Badass Cape: Has an impressive one she wears.
  • Badass Teacher: Becomes this for Lelouch before accepting the job of being a Professor at the Officer's academy. In fact, her impressive tutelage of Lelouch and given how far he has come in a short few months is what helps cement Rhea's decision to make Byleth a professor.
  • Brutal Honesty: Byleth can be this at times, but it's more out of necessity when she is.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite wearing mostly black armor, Byleth isn't evil.
  • Dude Magnet: Byleth becomes this at the Officers Academy which combined with her appearance and accomplishments it's not a big shock she would attract a crowd, which is enough for Lelouch, being a Chick Magnet himself, feels sorry for her.
  • Emotionless Girl: Byleth is this to a big extent, making it difficult for Lelouch to get a read on her mood and feelings.
  • Genius Bruiser: Besides being a fearsome warrior on the battlefield, Byleth is intelligent in her own right and has impressive analytical skills.
  • Hidden Buxom: Byleth is obviously beautiful. Her armors actually compliment it by seemingly enhancing it.
  • Master Swordsman: Byleth is highly skilled with a sword and it's her preferred weapon in battle.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The Ashen Demon.
  • One-Man Army: A female version of this, Byleth's skills made her dangerous enough to take on bandits and most foes with causal ease.
  • Obliviously Beautiful: Byleth doesn't seem to be aware of why so many men are interested in her.
  • Red Baron: Known as the Ashen Demon for her battle prowess and stoic demeanor during battle.
  • Secret-Keeper: Byleth and her father are among the few who know about Lelouch's true origins and agree to keep quiet about it.
  • The Dreaded: Given her reputation as the Ashen Demon, and she does prove to live up to that title during battle.
  • The Leader: Becomes this for the The Golden Deer and leads her class against the other two houses during the Mock Battle in Chapter 9.

    Edelgard von Hresvelg

Edelgard von Hresvelg

The Princess and next heir to the throne of the Adrestian Empire, and the student leader of the Black Eagle House. Edelgard on the surface maintains a calm, elegant, and dignified air about her while mindful of those around her. Edelgard takes an interest in both Lelouch and Byleth, the former for his possession of the Keyblade and the latter for her skills in battle and how well she had trained Lelouch.

Although she would be disappointed, Lelouch ended up going to the Golden Deer House to keep him with Byleth as she chose to teach that class. Nevertheless, she has kept an eye on both of them.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: As the Princess of the Adrestian Empire and next Emperor to be, on top of being Class Leader of the Black Eagles, Edelgard proves herself to be a formidable foe herself, able to hold her own against Byleth a one-woman army and experienced mercenary. Although Edelgard loses the battle she is nevertheless able to hold her ground against someone like Byleth, which speaks well of her own fighting skills.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Lord Solus mentions to Lelouch that Edelgard once had eleven siblings, but then the Insurrection of Seven led to them dying one by one until Edelgard was left, even hinting that there was likely much more Edelgard was put through earning sympathy from Lelouch who notes something similar likely would've happened to him and Nunnally had they returned to Britannia. Of course, there is much that Lelouch isn't aware of.
  • Iron Lady: Edelgard portrays herself as this, considering herself the most serious, logical, and driven among the three student leaders.
  • Lady of War: Dignified and serious, while a dangerous powerhouse who loves to use a battle ax in battle.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Despite her waifish appearance Edelgard has a shocking amount of physical strength allowing her to wield a large axe with ease with one arm and deliver powerful blows that can knock most people to the ground.
  • Mystical White Hair: Edelgard has white hair, something that is rather, and is a powerful combatant in battle who can use magic.
  • Spotting the Thread: Edelgard calls out Lord Solus, questioning the story on how he simply found Lelouch in possession of a weapon not wielded by anyone for a thousand years, and rightfully assuming there is more to the story than everyone was told. However, Lord Solus, through some blackmail threats, makes a deal with Edelgard to get her to back off while promising not to harm Lelouch.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite just being over five feet tall, Edelgard qualifies for this with her considerable physical strength.
  • Properly Paranoid: Edelgard comes off as this, especially when she confronts Lord Solus, correctly deducing the story behind Lelouch's discovery was made up.

    Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd

The next in line to the throne of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and is the class leader of the Blue Lion House. A polite and courageous young man who believes in chivalry, but under the surface lies a dark side he has kept hidden since a terrible tragedy he survived has haunted him.

  • All-Loving Hero: All Dimitri comes off to Lelouch and others, but this may not be a good thing for him since perhaps he loves his people too much.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Dimitri is the strongest warrior among the Blue Lions if not the kingdom itself.
  • The Comically Serious: Dimitri conducts himself very seriously to the point he cannot tell a joke and can be quite embarrassed easily under the right circumstances.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Being the sole survivor of the Tragedy of Duscar and having seen his own father and friends get cut down had a big impact on him. Something Lelouch can relate to recalling the death of his own mother and the horrors of war he witnessed when Japan was invaded.
  • Frontline General: Like Edelgard he fights with his friends during the mock battle, despite things not looking good for them.
  • General Failure: Although Dimitri is a powerful fighter, his tactical skills are sorely lacking, so much so that Claude suggests they take advantage of this which Lelouch does. Baiting two of his class's strongest fighters into a trap.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Dimitri is blonde and one of the most heroic and idealistic characters among the cast, provided his dark side is kept in check.
  • Heroic Build: Has broad shoulders and an impressive build with super strength granted by his crest.
  • Humble Hero: Dimitri is a very humble and kind man who tends to treat those he meets equally and with respect.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: While not girly Dimitri is emotional and very sensitive while Edelgard is the masculine girl between them.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Like Edelgard, Dimitri's Crest is noted to give their users innate strength making them much stronger than they would look even though Dimitri is obviously well-trained and fit, having the body of someone who trains daily.
  • Nice Guy: Dimitri is kind, humble, and very polite.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Dimitri is a prince, but he'll join his friends on the frontlines if the situation demands it and won't sit back and wait if he can do something.
  • Sole Survivor: Became this after surviving the Tragedy of Duscar, suffering survivor's guilt.
  • Super-Strength: Thanks to his Crest, Dimitri has possessed considerable strength since he was a child.

    Claude von Riegan

Claude von Riegan

The house leader of Golden Deer and the future leader of the Leicester Alliance. A young man who is very sociable and specializes in using bows. Yet as carefree and laidback as he can appear, Claude is far more cunning and insightful than he can appear.

  • The Ace: Claude stands out as not only being a skilled archer, but a cunning strategist and chess master on par with the likes of Lelouch who isn't afraid to use underhanded tactics and manipulations to achieve his goals.
  • All-Loving Hero: He is friendly and idealistic, and sees the best in everyone even when they are rude to him. Unlike Suzaku, he does understand and isn't blind to the problems around him and isn't afraid to use his cunning and some underhanded tactics to solve them if the situation demands it.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Claude is a cunning and surprisingly insightful young man that some people wouldn't suspect at a glance.
  • Badass Bookworm: Matching his cunning and insightful nature, Claude is a serious reader with a thirst for knowledge, especially since he is very curious about the Keyblade.
  • Birds of a Feather: Claude easily bonds with Lelouch, both of them being cunning Chess Masters who both have trust issues and tend to keep others at arm's length.
  • Blue Blood: He stands out from Edelgard and Dimitri from being only a member of the nobility and not royalty.
  • Butt-Monkey: He gets no respect from his fellow class leaders and even some of his own classmates don't hold back on him.
  • The Charmer: Tends to rely more on his charms, people skills, and diplomacy compared to Dimitri and Edelgard. Such as when they try to push Byleth and Lelouch into joining them, Claude takes an easier approach wanting to form a friendship first before trying to recruit them.
  • The Chessmaster: On par with Lelouch in a way, and it's one of the reasons the two are quick to become friends.
  • Constantly Curious: One notable trait of his that ties into his Badass Bookworm trope seen above, he's eager to learn secrets and obtain new knowledge.
  • The Gadfly: As he admits to Lelouch before joining the Golden Deer, he tends to poke fun at Lysithea simply because it amuses him and it's easy to get a rise out of her.
  • Guile Hero: Given his status as The Chessmaster and a Badass Bookworm, it's not surprising Claude relies more on his cunning than brute strength in a battle.

    Alois Rangeld

Alois Rangeld

The current captain of the Knights of Serios, at least until he figuratively drags Jeralt back to rejoin retaking his old position. He ends up suggesting the position of Professor to Byleth, after being impressed by Lelouch and his possession of the Keyblade.

    Rhea

Rhea

The Archbishop and the leader of the Church of Serios from the safety of the Garreg Mach Monastery. A kind and benevolent leader at first glance, but Jeralt and Lord Solus seem to know more about Rhea's character as they warn Lelouch and Byleth to be mindful around her.

    Lysithea von Ordelia

Lysithea von Ordelia

A member of the Golden Deer House and the only child of Count Ordelia. She is the youngest student to have enrolled at the Officers Academy at the age of fifteen being hailed as a Child Prodigy for his intellect and talents. Despite her youth, Lysithea is very serious and driven to focus on her studies not wishing to waste time. She becomes curious about Lelouch's Keyblade and the research he had been doing on the White Paladin, Fódlan's last known Keyblade Wielder.

  • Adorably Precocious Child: She is the youngest among the students, being only two years younger than the average student. However, she is a diligent and hardworking student who does have her own endearing and dorky moments, but she'll bribe them or prove she is mature and not a child.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: Lysithea seems to hold this view for the nobility, or so Lelouch thinks, which he feels confident Lysithea will keep his secret that he has his own crest, which could become a serious headache if anyone found out.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: As a result of being the youngest of her class at the age of fifteen. Unfortunately some characters, especially Claude, tend to poke fun at her for her youth because of how easy it is to get a rise out of her.
  • Badass Adorable: A young cute girl who possesses destructive magic despite her age and appearance making her a force to be reckoned with.
  • Badass Bookworm: Lysithea is still given her willingness to study history and magic extensively, and this is helpful for Lelouch when she comes across him attempting to learn more about the White Paladin from the War of Heroes helping him in his research.
  • Black Mage: Lysithea used mostly offensive spells during the mock battle and given the power behind them her spells hit really hard, but she is also trained in healing and light magic-based offensive spells.
  • Glass Cannon: Despite possessing powerful magic and dishing out powerful spells at such a young age, Lysithea lacks durability to survive a head-on confrontation if she cannot take them down fast enough with spells before they get close.
  • Teen Genius: She enrolled into the Officers' Academy at the age of fifteen, an accomplishment no one before her has done and it shows how intelligent she is to have pulled it off.

    Ingrid Brandl Galatea

Ingrid Brandl Galatea

A member of the Blue Lions House at the Officer's Academy and the only child of Count Galatea and a childhood friend of Dimitri and two others in the Blue Lion House. Having grown up on inspiring tales of knights, Ingrid has been training since she was a child to become a Knight, even Dimitri notes that Ingrid has a knightly air about her, and she has a very serious nature.

  • Badass Adorable: Ingrid is a beautiful young woman who is serious and a formidable fighter wishing to become an elegant and strong knight.
  • But Thou Must!: Pulls this on Lelouch at the beginning to Chapter ten, where Lelouch attempts to spend the rest of the day at the Officer's Academy resting and reading, but Ingrid comes knocking and wants to train with Lelouch having already been given Byleth's blessing to do so. When Lelouch tries to refuse she simply and literally drags him off despite Lelouch's protests.
  • Defeat Equals Friendship: After Lelouch defeats Ingrid, she seeks him out in Chapter 10. At first, Lelouch expects she would be furious over the tactics he used to defeat her given her knightly disposition, but he is actually surprised when she is impressed by the tactics he implemented to get the better of her and Felix. Wishing instead to train with him, even if he is unwilling.
  • Beauty, Brains, and Brawn: Ingrid is the Brawn between her, Mercedes, and Annette, the Beauty and Brains respectively.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Despite being feminine in some of her appearance and speech patterns, she wishes to become a Knight more than some Noble Lady, making herself more of a Tomboy.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Ingrid has long blonde hair and is easily one of the more well-adjusted characters who is the easiest to approach, while desires nothing more than to become a knight.
  • Humble Hero: Ingrid is approachable, good-natured, and very modest.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: What Ingrid inspires to be, and she is well on her way to becoming one having the skills and personality befitting one.
  • Lady of War: Ingrid is calm, straightforward, and dignified who is skilled in wielding lances in battle, and is a very capable fighter.

    Hilda Valentine Goneril

Hilda Valentine Goneril

The only daughter of Duke Goneril who is sweet, but spoiled and lazy who has a habit of charming others to do her work for her. However, despite her claims and efforts to avoid work, there is more to her than meets the eye.

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Lelouch has gained this opinion of her, and despite her initial impressions he is stunned by how she took down Hubert with a surprise attack, a blow that sent him flying much to his shock.
  • Big "WHAT?!": Invokes this reaction from Lelouch when she appears and sends Hurbert flying with one hit, knocking him out.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Presents herself as a lazy girl who will use her charms to get others to do her work for her, but as Lelouch saw there is more to her than meets the eye. Especially when you hit someone so hard with a training axe and send them flying should be a telling sign not to judge her so quickly.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: She has pink hair and pink eyes.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Her long pink hair is styled into a pair of pigtails.
  • Girly Bruiser: Although she would rather not be involved in battles, she is very girly and is into fashionable things, but also a physical powerhouse who is very good with an axe.
  • Lazy Bum: Hilda purposely cultivates this image for herself, despite being more capable than she lets on.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Although shorter than some characters, being five feet tall, Hilda is very strong and can hit very hard.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Hilda has pink hair and she is sweet while genuinely caring at times, but she isn't afraid to use her charms to get out of doing work.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Likely spoiled by her family, but she isn't a terrible person other than trying to use her charms to get others to do her work for her.

Etheria (The World of "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power")

A unique world until not so long ago it had been sealed away within another dimension, surrounded by twelve moons and ruled by different kingdoms, each ruled by the Princess of Power. However, long ago the planet was made into a super weapon capable of destroying the universe using its massive stores of magical energy accumulated. However, during the final clash with Horde Prime, both he and his Empire along with the superweapon was destroyed.
    General
  • Abusive Precursors: The First Ones, or rather the people of Eternia were highly intelligent and created a lot of technological innovations, but they were actually imperialist conquers who sought to turn Etheria itself into a weapon capable of wiping out all life in the universe if misused, but it was still a dangerous weapon that led to one of their own sabotaging it and moving the planet into another dimension to prevent its use...until.
  • Apocalypse How: Averted, but throughout the whole Etheria has almost been destroyed three times by different world or universe disasters, which were thankfully prevented.
  • Alien Invasion: In the past Etheria had weathered two invasions, one from the distant past, and one by Horde Prime which was defeated, but now they've been dealing with the Heartless invading their world driven by Maleficent to capture Adora who has been discovered to be a Princess of Heart.
  • Beast Man: Etheria is inhabited by humanoids who share animal traits, such as Catra being a Cat girl for example.
  • Darker and Edgier: The series and setting as a whole is darker than the original series that came before it, which will be mentioned in the story, especially in discussions about Horde Prime.
  • Geometric Magic: How magic is used by the people of this world, creating circles in the air with a large rune inside, not doing this correctly will cause the spell to fail. However, some like the Princesses, based on their abilities, can perform magic without creating a circle.
  • Magitek: Even if the Heart of Etheria is no longer functioning, the planet itself still has a lot of First One's tech left behind which seems to be a form of Organic Technology that mixes science and magic together. The Harbingers have been secretly conducting digs around and in remote areas of the planet trying to collect as much First One's tech as they can find.
  • Princesses Rule: Despite most Princesses able to be Queens, with the exception of one, most of them retain their Princess title.
  • Removing the Rival: Horde Prime's demise and the destruction of his empire, while great for everyone it did allow both Maleficent and the Harbingers as well as others to quickly begin filling the void as neither side no longer have to worry about him.

    Adora

Adora

Known as She-Ra, the Princess of Power, and the Hero of Etheria who defeated the Horde and Hordak followed by Horde Prime and his Empire. She was once an orphan who was raised by the Horde before discovering their true nature and defecting to the Rebellion. And unknowingly she is a Princess of Heart, and is currently being targeted by Maleficent to be captured. A courageous and capable warrior, Adora has been fighting the Heartless and whatever Maleficent has thrown at her, unaware the evil fairy has found someone who could face her.
  • The Ace: She was the best soldier trained by the Horde, a natural leader with good strategic ability and can keep cool in battle, and is a Nice Girl too. After defecting she became She-Ra where she put these skills to use slowly becoming a One-Woman Army over time, getting better as time went on. By the time the Heartless and Maleficent begin attacking her world, she has defeated every invasion force the evil fairy has sent her way.
  • Action Girl: Athletic and a well-trained soldier before joining the Rebellion, but as She-Ra, which gave her an increase in strength and allowed her to shoot energy blasts and cut through most foes like paper.
  • All-Loving Heroine: There is no one Adora will not save unless they are irredeemable like Horde Prime.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Adora is beautiful with an athletic build.
  • Berserk Button: Targeting innocent people will do that, especially her friends.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Adora is a Nice Girl, but threaten her friends and you'll regret it.
  • Official Couple: She and Catra are a couple as per the end of season five.
  • Warrior Princess: Adora is obviously this as She-Ra.

Orience (The World of Final Fantasy Type-0)

Even among the worlds of Kingdom Hearts, Orience stands out as very unique. The world and its nations are built around four crystals, which are revered by each of the four nations: the Dominion of Rubrum, the Milites Empire, the Kingdom of Concordia, and the Lorican Alliance. Each Crystal grants each of the Four Nations unique properties that make them stand out. However, one trait shared with all of the crystals is that those who died, their memories are removed from the minds of everyone. Seemingly a gift to allow everyone to move on without being weighed down by the death of their loved ones, however forgetting the dead has another consequence that no one feels remorse for killing another human on that world.
    General
  • Amnesiacs are Innocent: How the people of Orience view those who have died since the crystals remove all memory of them.
  • Child Soldiers: Tragic and the worst part is it is justified, especially in the Dominion because the Crystal only grants the ability to wield magic to someone in their teens up to their early adult years. There have been some exceptions to this rule, but the Dominion will send in teens to the frontlines far more often than not.
  • Crapsack World: Thanks to the Crystals removing memories of those who die. War is more commonplace when compared to other worlds seen so far. As a result people sadly resign themselves to dying as though it's an unfortunate chore that's coming up, and when that someone dies they will be forgotten by their friends and family with barely their name remaining. And the person who killed them will not feel any guilt for killing them, making it easy for the soldiers on both sides to do some horrible stuff.
  • Doomed Hometown: Almost the whole of the Rubrum is conquered by Milites within the span of a day, which is thanks to their new Crystal Jammer. Class Zero barely manages to stop them in time, saving only the capital of the Dominion.
  • The Four Gods: Each crystal and the nation they are built around are themed after them, such as Rubrum being based around the Vermilion Bird, Milites has the White Tiger, Concordia the Azure Dragon, and lastly Lorican The Black Tortoise.
  • Forgotten Fallen Friend: Justified thanks to how the Crystals of Orience work.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Inflicted upon the people of Orience as a whole when someone dies, and yet almost no one seems interested in recalling the person who was lost.
  • Military School: The school of Akademeia located at the Dominion's capital counts as this while doubling as a Wizarding School, so it's in some ways a military school version of Hogwarts.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Horribly averted, and it's also why the conflicts on Orience are bloodier because those who fight and kill feel no guilt for those they kill making it much easier to even kill civilians and others.
  • Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The l'Cie with each Crystal Nation having one or more than one at a time as protectors of their respective crystals and sometimes their emissary They are immortal and possess immense power, so when the Milites's Crystal Jammer is destroyed and the Dominion's l'Cie are joining the battle, they order a retreat. However, Ieyasu invokes this when he defeats one of them in combat covering the Milites's retreat.
  • War Is Hell: Both in the game and in the story, especially given how the crystals erase the memories of the dead meaning there is no guilt in killing an enemy soldier begging for mercy or even civilians.

    Ace

Ace

A member of Class Zero and the leader of the group, or one of its leaders depending on the mission at hand. A kind if sometimes withdrawn young man who is noted to be a prodigy, but he is just as capable as the rest of his class.

  • Death Dealer: His main weapon is a pack of cards which he can use as projectile weapons, fire beams of magic, or even use to form a shield to protect him from attacks.
  • Innocent Prodigy: Mature, yet he can be childish at times.
  • Long-Range Fighter: His magic cards give him a lot of flexibility in battle while allowing him to attack at a range, but he can be just as dangerous in close quarters.
  • Manly Tears: Sheds these for his friend as he watches him die.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Has this moment when he realized his friend Izana since he suggested him for the mission, wanting someone he could trust, at least until the crystals erase his memories.
  • You Are Too Late: Fails to arrive in time to save Izana from an ambush meant for them.

    Deuce

Deuce

Another member of Class Zero, who is kind and plucky while she can be stubborn at times. Deuce uses her flute to both attack her enemies and support her allies, healing or empowering them.

  • Badass Adorable: Deuce is a cute and adorable girl who can support her friends with potent support magic, heal them and create musical notes that will home in on her enemies and explode.
  • The Cutie: Deuce qualifies for it.
  • Musical Assassin: Fights using her flute and can use musical notes; it creates a slow-moving attack that will go to the nearest enemy and explode.
  • Squishy Wizard: Despite her capabilities, Deuce is safer fighting at a range since she lacks the durability and skills for close-quarters combat.

Hydaelyn (The World of Final Fantasy XIV)

A unique world that was once one world before a cataclysm and a clash between two powerful entities shattered the world into thirteen reflections of itself as well as its inhabitants. The world Sora and his friends land on is called the "Source" from which all of the other twelve reflections split from and are still connected to. Each reflection is similar to the source, but each world has developed their own culture and identity separate from the Source.
    General
  • Abusive Precursors: Sora learns that the Crystal Tower they saw was created long ago by Allagan Empire, famous for producing many wonders of advanced technology, but for those who've played the game would know they left behind many dangerous devices and machines that have troubled the world more than once. More so, the Ascians, the Ancients and the inhabitants of the world when it was whole count as this, although not completely as some opposed the path their fellows were taking after sacrificing more than half of their own population to create a being to save their world from a mysterious disaster that caused their creation magics to rage out of control creating monsters that ravaged the world Then had planned to sacrifice the new races that began populating the planet after it was restored, but thankfully those who opposed such an action stopped it. As a result, the Ascians spent thousands of years trying to restore the world and make it whole again, at the cost of everyone else.
  • Apocalypse How: Thousands of years ago the world was faced with a disaster causing the Ancients' creation magics to go wild creating monsters that destroyed the world. The only way they were able to stop it was by creating a Physical God who could rewrite the laws of nature, at the cost of half of their total population, and half of those who remained to restore their ruined world. The Ancients planned on sacrificing the new races that began to appear in the wake of the planet being restored, but a group of ancients opposed this and restored it to drastic means to stop them.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: What Zodiark is, G'raha Tia explains to Sora that despite the Ancients creating a literal God of Darkness, Zodiark wasn't evil or truly malevolent in the way the Heartless were. Since darkness contains elements required for creation making him of the The Sacred Darkness type.
  • The Empire: The Garlean Empire is a fascistic and expansionist autocracy, although it's under new leadership, but said leader has different goals in mind. The Allagan Empire in the past was similar, unsurprising given the true origins of the two.

    The Warrior of Light

Gerard Luxen

The famous Warrior of Light, the man who has accomplished the impossible and wins his battles no matter the odds against him. He has defended the Eorzea City States from all matters of threats, even saving two worlds from destruction. A humble man who has spent many years as an adventurer and a hero, he and Sora meet after he saves the latter from being eaten by a giant frog.

  • 100% Heroism Rating: Even if Sora and company haven't been on his world long, it's clear from how everyone speaks to him and regards him with such respect that Sora is convinced he is a genuine hero in every sense of the world. Indeed, the Warrior of Light is regarded as the world's greatest hero having ended a fair share of conflicts and saved the world more than once so far.
  • The Ace: He is the strongest ally Sora and company have met and he proves the title Warrior of Light isn't just for show as he proves to be a capable and experienced combatant who has fought in wars, against other adventures, monsters, and Primals.
  • Big Brother Mentor: He starts to become this to Sora, indirectly, as someone to look up to especially after Gerard saves Sora from being eaten alive.
  • Ghost Memory: The Warrior of Light possesses the Echo, a unique skill that allows him to glean memories of others just by being in their presence while allowing him to comprehend and speak any language spoken to him as naturally as his own native tongue.
  • One-Man Army: Gerard fits this having faced down literal armies of enemies ranging from human soldiers, beast men, monsters and more.
  • War Hero: Gerard is this for defeating the occupation of two city states held by the Garlean Empire, something no one thought could be accomplished.
  • World's Best Warrior: As the Warrior of Light he is rightfully considered this given all of his accomplishments and being among the few who can fight against Primals without being corrupted into a servant by them.

    Krile Baldesion

Krile Baldesion

A skilled plainsfolk lalafell healer and tracker , and the adopted daughter of Galuf Halm Baldesion as well as a member of the Students of Baldesion . Since the loss of her island home and other events, Krile has joined the Scions of the Seventh Dawn to help safeguard Eorzea. She is highly intelligent, but she does have a cheerful side who can be a tease yet nosy at times, for good reason.

  • Animal-Eared Headband: Her traditional look and style consists of a yellow coat with a hood that has animal ears on it, which is also a Mythology Gag to both her namesake from Final Fantasy V and the Devout class.
  • Badass Bookworm: Being a Student of Baldesion qualifies you for this considering one or two other members of the Scions themselves are also members and have capable combat skills on top of being quite intelligent in their own right, Krile stands out as the most intelligent among her Scion fellows rivaled by one other.
  • Combat Medic: While not as skilled in combat as her fellow Scions, Krile isn't helpless and she can hold her own in a fight. Although the tactics of the Heartless did almost overwhelm her.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Krile is notable for delving into this from time to time, something Sora got to experience firsthand.
  • Ghost Memory: Just like the Warrior of Light, Krile has the Echo which allows her to view the memories of another, which is how she discovers Sora isn't from their world and what their mission is before Sora and his friends wake up.
  • Happily Adopted: She was until her island home was destroyed.
  • The Medic: Krile is not only an intelligent scholar and researcher, but she is the best healer among the Scions.
  • Older Than They Look: Despite her child-like appearance, which is common for lalafells like her, those who have never seen one before can easily make this mistake, right Sora? In fact, Krile is at least in her early twenties, being around twenty-two years old.

    G'raha Tia

G'raha Tia

Like Krile he is a former member of the Student of Baldesion, but unlike her he is one of the newest members of the Scions having been just welcomed into the organization recently. A kind, humble and dorky Miqo'te male, G'raha offers his immense knowledge, skills, and experience he gained from unique events that happened to him, which also led to the Scions saving both the Source and the First from a Bad Future.

  • The Archmage: Due to unique circumstances that happened to him, G'raha has become a powerful magic user able to use Black Magic and White Magic allowing him to dish out destructive spells as an offense and heal others as well. His skills are such that he is capable of other forms of magic such as being able to fight as a Paladin if the need arises. G'raha is probably one of the most powerful magic users among the Scions.
  • Badass Bookworm: Being not only a Student of Baldesion, but also an expert on Allgan history and technology on top of being a powerful mage.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has red hair, eyes, and red fur on his tail, being a Cat Boy.
  • Endearingly Dorky: His most notable trait, despite having a considerable amount of knowledge and experience he still acts like this.
  • Magic Staff: Uses one as his main weapon to channel his magic through, which also has a piece of the Crystal Tower on top of it.
  • New Meat: Despite his impressive accomplishments on the First, G'raha is still the new guy among the Scions.
  • Nice Guy: Very much so, sometimes to a comical degree given his Fan Boy status towards the Warrior of Light and how dorky he can be.
  • Older Than They Look: A rather unique case for him, following the conclusion of the events of Shadowbringers, G'raha's soul from the First having time traveled into the past from a Bad Future, would merge his soul and memories with his younger self who was slumbering within the Crystal Tower allowing him to free himself and join the Scions.
  • Red Is Heroic: His primary color for both his attire and his hair and eyes too.

    Alisaie Leveilleur

Alisaie Leveilleur

The twin sister of Alphinaud, and a member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, unlike her more diplomatic and pragmatic brother, Alisaie is not only to simply debate an issue, she will charge headfirst and confront it head-on if she believes it's the better solution. Forceful, passionate, driven, and yet compassionate while she can be a bit cynical and stoic.

  • The Ace: Mentioned by Krile during the game, both her and Alphianud were gifted prodigies when they both attended the Studium, a prodigious academy, and they were the youngest to do so, something no one had ever accomplished. Although not as bookish or skilled in magic as her brother, Alisaie found and developed her skills in the areas in which her brother wasn't skilled.
  • Blue Blood: The Leveilleur Family, are of a famous family in Sharlayan, whose members have become notable and influential individuals in politics and in their magic and scholarly institutions. The most notable member of their family in recent years was their grandfather, Louisoix, who would serve as an indirect founder of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and he sacrificed himself to save the world from calamity, as far as the world knew at least.
  • Blood Knight: Not to a violent degree, but Alisaie does enjoy a good fight fitting her temperament.
  • Combat Medic: Just like her brother and Krile, she is capable of using healing magic during a fight, something a Red Mage is capable of.
  • Crystal Weapon: Her weapon as a made is a crystal sword fashioned after a rapier with a pink crystal making up the blade.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She usually pokes fun at her brother, but she can be snarky to others.
  • Determinator: A major difference between herself and her brother, is that while Alphinaud may be willing to compromise to achieve a desired end fitting his pragmatic and diplomatic nature, Alisaie will not. She has a stubborn streak, such as she will not hesitate to rant and rave at any injustice before her before putting it down with her sword. Even if the odds are against her, Alisaie will not back down and will fight to the bitter end for a cause she is committed to.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Her and Alphinaud do look identical besides some slight differences in their appearances and the clothes they wear, but they still sometimes get mistaken for one another which greatly annoys them to no end, Alisaie especially .
  • Hero-Worshipper: She admires the Warrior of Light and was inspired to take a more active role in events thanks to him, which led to her joining the Scions.
  • Hot-Blooded: Alisaie is a woman of action complete with a hot-blooded temper and can be passionate about a cause or course she is committed to.
  • Magic Knight: As a Red Mage, Alisaie is a skilled fencer and spellcaster, even before becoming a Red Mage to take advantage of it, she was always very skilled in both martial fighting and magic.
  • Mystical White Hair: She is skilled in magic just as her brother and it seems to be a family trait which even her grandfather had, being a legendary mage of considerable skill.
  • Teen Genius: She is only seventeen when she appears in the story and has accomplished a lot and is intelligent in her own way, despite the differences between her and her brother.
  • The Red Mage: Her job class, and what fits her natural skills in martial fighting and magic the best, not to mention the class allows her to gain one over her brother.

    Alphinaud Leveilleur

Alphinaud Leveilleur

The twin brother of Alisaie, and the leader of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, despite his age. Unlike his more direct and hot-blooded sister, Alphinaud is diplomatic, pragmatic, and wry while understanding and kind with his wish being wanting to safeguard Eorzea and by extension the rest of their world from harm.

  • The Ace: Much like his sister, Alphianud was noted to be a natural prodigy who entered a prestigious academy at a young age, which no one has accomplished before. Unlike his sister, he excelled at magic and is better with diplomacy than she is.
  • Badass Adorable: Not like his sister, but unlike her, she is an adorable young man who has his moments which seems to make him more Endearingly Dorky sometimes.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Despite their disagreements at times, the twins do care for one another. Made clear in Chapter 10 where Alphinaud becomes horrified when Alisaie vanishes after chasing after Pete into a Corridor of Darkness .
  • Blue Blood: Like his sister, he too is a part of the Leveilleur Family, which has a history of having many notable politicians and renowned mages who are wealthy and well-regarded in their native homeland.
  • Combat Medic: As the opposite of his sister, although she is capable of healing magic herself, Alphianud uses magic in battle and uses healing magic and support magic to help his allies.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: He had a bad case of this in the past, much to his own peril which led to some unforeseen tragedies, but he has grown out of it and is more in control of it. Thanks to his character development in the games.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: He bears some similarities to his sister but rarely gets mistaken for her.
  • Half-Identical Twins: He and Alisaie are almost identical save for their clothing and fighting styles as well as personalities.
  • Improbable Age: He is seventeen years old and commands a group of his world's strongest heroes, something that even Sora is impressed by given that he is only two years younger than Alphinaud.
  • The Leader: He serves as this for Scions, although the road to that position and the capable leader he is, was not an easy one.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has this as part of his appearance and is a powerful mage in his own right.
  • Nice Guy: He is one of the nicest members of the Scions even if he can be unintentionally insensitive at times.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: He is more level-headed and diplomatic than his sister.
  • Summon Magic: He can summon Carbuncles to aid him in battle being an Arcanist.
  • Teen Genius: He and his sister are both this, having entered a renowned academy at the tender age of ten, something no one else until that time had done.

    Y'shtola Rhul

Y'shtola Rhul

A noteworthy member of the Scions who is among their most veteran members having been part of the group since its founding. She is a powerful mage with an intelligent and inquisitive mind who is always curious, especially interested in lost and forgotten knowledge. While she can be detached at times, she does possess a strong compassionate heart and a sense of justice.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: She shares this trait with Entrapta, but instead of machines its books with interesting contents, especially those forbidden or rare.
  • Badass Bookworm: She is one of the most powerful mages in the Scions, if not the most powerful, and she is a well-educated and intelligent scholar.
  • Cat Girl: She is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te, so naturally.
  • Cats Are Snarkers: Her Cat Girl status aside, she is notable for having a razor-sharp, bone-dry wit.
  • Constantly Curious: She loves learning for the sake of learning, and is likely very interested to learn more about the Keyblade and Gummi Ship travel.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She has made this into an art form.
  • Facial Markings: She has cat-like stripes on her face.
  • Lady of Black Magic: She proves what she is capable of as she effortlessly demolishes Heartless after Heartless in battle using various forms of magic, and that isn't even her full arsenal we have yet to see.

Yggdrasil (The World of Venus Blood -Frontier-)

A world where a group of four goddesses and their creator rule over Yggdrasil held up high in the heavens, while the surface below is ravaged from a destructive war against humans, gods, and demons hundreds of years ago. Despite dealing with the usual bandit problem or demons attempting to invade once in while, the land has been peaceful until the The Heartless began to arrive. The leading goddess Odin realized the danger they represent and decided to send out one of her subordinates to ensure their world is protected, which Odin knows has claimed many worlds already.
    General
  • Floating Continent: Yggdrasil is basically a collection of five gigantic landmasses grouped together to form one big floating continent held up in the heavens above the ruled surface world where humans used to live.
  • Our Gods Are Different: The ruling goddesses of Yggdrasil are this given their personalities and abilities. If Tyrca's journey so far has been anything to go by, they are not able to instantly travel the universe either.

    Odin
The ruling goddess of Yggdrasil who rules and holds court from the centermost continent who also created the lesser goddesses who rule over and manage their own corners of Yggdrasil. She is the first to recognize the danger of the Heartless pose and despite their power, fears they could not hold out against an ongoing assault of them, especially made worse since they don't know where the Heart of their world is, which if the Heartless find it that would be it for them and their world. Determined to not let this happen, Odin choses one of the Goddesses to go out into the wider universe to seek a Keyblade Wielder.
  • A God Am I: Justified, given she is the most powerful of the goddesses and the veteran of a major war between humans, demons, and gods coming out on top.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: As the top goddess of land and the strongest by far who fought in the original three-way war between humans, gods, and demons to come out as the victor should be telling.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Basically sums up her reasoning behind why she chose Tyrca over the other goddesses who were either too diplomatic, likely to be engulfed by the thrill of potential battle or are too young and lacking in confidence.
  • Flying Weapon: Odin's main weapons are four swords she can use separately or use them to unleash devastating attacks from a distance.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Odin's general attire consists of gold and white, furthering the image that she is the strongest of the goddesses, despite her small stature.
  • God of Light: Many of Odin's powers are light-based.
  • Little Miss Almighty: Despite looking young, Odin is a lot more powerful than she looks at first glance.
  • Oh, Crap!: She doesn't say it, but implies this when she realizes the Heartless have grown in such numbers that they are consuming worlds. While they are powerful in their own right fears their world is in danger since they don't know where their world's Keyhole is and if a Heartless gets to it they are finished, so Odin aims to prevent this as quickly as she can before the Heartless can grow enough to overwhelm them which she suspects will happen if they succeed in consuming all other worlds before attacking them.
  • The Maker: She created the four goddesses and Yggdrasil.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Despite appearing to be a child, Odin is still one of the most powerful beings in her world. Her younger appearance is merely due to having expended much of her original power during the great war hundreds of years ago and creating the new Goddesses.
  • Top God: Odin is this, as both the ruler of Yggdrasil and the creator of the other goddesses.

    Tyrca
The Goddess of Spring, also known as the Spring Valkyrie and Windy War Deity. She rules the eastern nation of Edda on Yggdrasil, which is semi-governed by the Trade Guild in her place. Because of Edda's semi-autonomy, and as the best candidate among the Season Goddesses, Tyrca was chosen by Odin to travel to other worlds in their search for Keyblade wielders.
  • All-Loving Hero: Tyrca is a brave, compassionate and righteous young woman who takes her duties seriously.
  • Backup from Otherworld: Tyrca's sword, Nibelung, can summon the spirits of the dead. Who or what they are depends on the ground she stabs her sword into, which if she were to stab her sword into the ground where a battle took place long ago she would summon their spirits to fight for her, or workers who died building a project to lend their skills.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Shows shades of this, especially when she decides to save a village in trouble, although she did realize it would benefit her since she could ask for information afterwards.
  • Ethnic God: The Goddess of Spring and over commence due to her land being the headquarters of the Trade Guild.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: She is the goddess most centered on in her series and wields the Divine Gear Nibelung, a sword that can call up spirits of the dead.
  • Nice Girl: Tyrca in a nutshell.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Given her compassion, kindness and heroic nature, Tyrca does come off as this and qualifies.
  • Mook Horror Show: Subjects this to the bandits led by Garrick while they are raiding Southtown, they barely realize what they are facing a battle hardened goddess.
  • Praetorian Guard: Commands her own personal army of Pegasus-riding Gale Ritters who also act as her bodyguards that she leads into battle against bandits or the occasional demon invader.
  • Power Gives You Wings: Other than the possibility of Odin herself, Tyrca is the only goddess who sprouts wings and can fly.
  • Red Baron: Known as the Spring Valkyrie and the Windy War Deity.
  • War God: While not a blood knight who loves battle, Tyrca is a battle-hardened goddess who has defended her realm from bandits and demons for hundreds of years.

    Thor

Thor

She is the Goddess of Summer and ruler of Thrudheim, the southern western kingdom next to Edda that focuses on military and mining. Befitting her status and leader of the country with a famed all-women military, Thor values strength and power above all else. Her weapon of choice is the Divine Gear Mjolnir, a large ax that can destroy anything in its path.

  • All Amazons Want Hercules: She is actively seeking someone strong enough to beat her , so she'll become attracted to anyone powerful.
  • Ambiguously Bi: Despite the Butch Lesbian trope below, Thor does have an interest in the opposite sex, if only they can defeat her in battle.
  • Amazon Brigade: Commands her own army made up of well-trained female warriors, in fact Thrudheim's military consists solely of female soldiers.
  • Blood Knight: Tends to enjoy fighting too much, which is one of the reasons Odin decided against sending her.
  • Butch Lesbian: Odin hears she tends to be very close to her female subordinates.
  • God of Thunder: Similar to her namesake and despite being a goddess of summer, Thor uses lightning and channels it into her weapon to make its effects more destructive.
  • Shock and Awe: Thor, given her powers using lightning, but just doesn't be the target of her ax.
  • War God: Fits this to a T and she is the most fitting for the trope.

    Rigret

Rigret

The youngest among the goddesses, being the Goddess of Winter and the ruler of Glads, the northern kingdom with sub-zero temperatures that focuses on crafts such as arts, music, painting, sculpturing, poetry, forging, and more. Her weapon of choice is the Divine Gear called Gjallarhorn, a shield that can buff allies and curse enemies. The Divine Gear's range and effectiveness amplify through sound waves. A dutiful goddess, but Rigret is dependent on her sisters, especially Tyrca with whom she is close to and views as an older sister figure. While she does try to meet expectations, she is nervous and very concerned if she is suitable for the role or not, even wishing others would treat her in a more casual manner instead of as an all-powerful goddess.

  • The Baby of the Bunch: She is the youngest of the four Goddesses, not counting Odin's current appearance, in both mind and appearance despite being hundreds of years old.
  • Cultured Badass: As timid and self-doubting as she can be at times when push comes to shove Rigret can be a force to be reckoned with. Yet, she comes from a country that is focused solely on culture.
  • Shrinking Violet: Despite her role as a goddess, she is questioning her ability and worth as one.
  • Shy Blue-Haired Girl: She is shy and is dependent on her sisters at times, but when one of them is in trouble, she can step up.
  • Older Than She Looks: Despite appearing young, perhaps physically around fifteen or sixteen, she is at least a few hundred years old having actually aged very little.
  • Underestimating Badassery: If motivated enough she can show this and prove to be dangerous in a battle.

    Freyja

Freyja

The eldest among the four goddesses and below Odin in seniority. She is the Goddess of the Autumn and ruler of Folk, the northwestern kingdom that focuses on agriculture, producing food for much of Yggdrasil. A kind, understanding, and diplomatic woman who had once married a human as a husband, but he has long since died a long time ago due to old age.

  • Cool Big Sis: She is this to the other three Goddesses being the most senior among them.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: She can be very kind and understanding, and while it's rare to see her angry the other goddesses would agree that Freyja can be terrifying when angry.
  • Divine Date: Freyja was once married to a human and was Happily Married as it was implied until she ended up outliving him.
  • Fertility God: Considering she is the Goddess of a land famed for its agriculture.
  • Humans Are Special: Holds this view about humanity in general, despite being aware of their flaws , she still loved and respected humans so much she married one.
  • Master Archer: She is frighteningly skilled with a bow and feared by some of the other goddesses for just how gold she is.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Her appearance, understanding, kind and welcoming personality may make people mistakenly assume she is a non-combatant, but she is one of the strongest goddesses and a dangerously skilled archer who will not hesitate to put an arrow through your heart if she must.
  • Technical Pacifist: Freyja would rather resolve issues without conflict if she can help it, but if not she can be a fearsome foe to contend with.

Ylisse (The World of Fire Emblem: Awakening)

The world where it has two continuants, one known as Ylisse and the other to the east called Valm, it is the setting where Ylisse has two major powers with tensions growing between the Halidom of Ylisse and the Kingdom of Plegia.     Robin

Robin

A lone traveler who is found unconscious and alone in a grassy plain when Chrom and his companions find her. Despite lacking her memories beyond her name, she managed to follow Chrom to Southtown to help its people survive and repel the bandit onslaught. Despite not remembering much Robin finds she is surprisingly knowledgeable in combat, skilled with swords and magic possessing the nature of a prodigy strategist. A kind, cheerful, and sometimes mischievous woman, Robin is quick to give aid to Chrom and his friends.

  • The Ace: Despite having no memory of who they are beyond remembering only their name, Robin is shown to be a capable fighter possessing skills in sword fighting, magic, and tactics that came to her as naturally as breathing despite the memory loss as she is able to call upon these skills with little trouble during the fight against the bandits of Southtown.
  • Amnesia Danger: Even without their memories, Robin can fight with the best of them using a sword and magic, something that surprised her despite not being certain about her fighting capabilities initially.
  • Amnesiac Hero: Despite their distress over their memory loss, it doesn't stop Robin from wanting to help Chrom and friends against the bandits attacking Southtown.
  • Badass Bystander: Robin is quickly shown even without her memories as she manages to fight with magic, swordsmanship and knowledge of battlefield tactics and awareness.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Robin has these combined with her white hair .
  • Magic Knight: One of Fire Emblem's few examples, at least before Three Houses came along, who could use magic seemingly specialized with lightning and wield a sword and is pretty good with one.
  • The Strategist: It wouldn't be Robin if she wasn't, and she is among the most well-known examples of this in the Fire Emblem games.

    Chrom

Chrom

The Prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, and leader of the Shepards, Chrom is a courageous young man and a powerful fighter who will defend the innocent should he find them in harm's way. He and his friends discover Robin in a field with no memory of who she is beyond her name and her impressive skills.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Comes with being a prince and a capable warrior as demonstrated during his debut.
  • Birthmark of Destiny: Has a special mark on his shoulder, it's the Mark of Naga, passed down through his family line for generations .
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Well known in his home series and as soon as he discovers the people of Southtown are in trouble he doesn't think twice and runs in to help.
  • Cool Sword: Has the legendary Falchion as his main weapon.
  • The Hero: He is this in his home series and acts the part.
  • Modest Royalty: He is one of the nicest characters you could meet who is very humble and heroic.
  • Nice Guy: A very trusting young man.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: He and his sister are this, as they are willing to aid a town under attack by bandits without a second thought.

    Lissa

Lissa

Chrom's younger sister, a Princess of the Halidom of Ylisse as well as a member of the Shepherds. A cheerful, friendly and a tomboy despite her status as a Princess. Lissa is also eager to prove herself and will follow her brother and friends into the fray willing to help.

  • Badass Adorable: For as much of a tomboy she acts to be, Lissa is sweet and adorable while capable of handing herself in a fight.
  • Battle Ballgown: Wears one as part of her usual attire with the metal frame used as additional protection.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Forms this with Chrom.
  • Genki Girl: Very cheerful and energetic
  • Girlish Pigtails: She has these, although they can curl into different directions.
  • I Just Want to Be Badass: Much of her early comments imply as much.
  • Modest Royalty: Just like her brother, she is fine with people calling her by her first name and treating her no differently than everyone else.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Shares this with her brother too, and she joined to help her brother and protect their kingdom.

    Frederick

Frederick

Chrom's right-hand man and a lieutenant in the Shepards while being the bodyguard to both siblings. Frederick takes his duties very seriously and is always diligent and sometimes the voice of reason, such as voicing sound reasons to be suspicious of Robin after the group finds her and questioning her story about her memory loss.
  • The Lancer: Wields a lance and provides sound reasoning and is more logical to Chrom who can be very trusting of others quite easily.
  • Four-Star Badass: He is Chrom's right-hand man in the Shepherds.
  • Properly Paranoid: He isn't wrong to be suspicious of Robin given how she was found in a field with no memory beyond her name that would make anyone reasonable suspicion.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Chrom and Lissa, and the rest of the Royal Family.

Zenith (The World of Fire Emblem Heroes)

A unique world with Nine Realms where two of its notable kingdoms, the Kingdom of Askr and the Emblian Empire who are able to access certain worlds. Its other nations and kingdoms that makeup Zenith have their own unique features and people different from some worlds.
    General
  • Dream Land: The Lands of Ljósálfheimr and Dökkálfheimr, the Lands of Dreams and Lands of Nightmare respectively, exist as this, and they are within the Realm of Sleep making it a unique place, more so since Dream Eaters have begun appearing .
  • Fairy Sexy: The álfar of the Land of Dreams and Nightmares are identical to traditional elves and fairies, but their attire are considerable busts, tight outfits or rather revealing ones that show off considerable cleavage, curves and skin.
  • Floral Theme Naming: The álfar of Ljósálfheimr and Dökkálfheimr are named for various flowers and plants.
  • Mirroring Factions: The Holy Britannian Empire is compared to Múspell, which are noted to be fairly similar to one another with some very big and obvious differences between them. But both are aggressive nations who believe conquering others is their right, and both have "the strong rule over the weak" mindset with Britannia's being more of Social Darwinism with rulers who are both terrible parents, but Surtr may be in fact worse than Charles.
  • Our Elves Are Different: The álfar of the dream world resemble fairies more, but they still have some elf-like features.
  • Our Fairies Are Different: Those living in Ljósálfheimr and Dökkálfheimr are human-sized fairies with names related to plants and are named for a race based on Norse Mythology.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Most locations, characters, and objects are inspired by or named or have themes from Norse Mythology.
  • Slippy-Slidey Ice World: The Land of Nifl is, a cold and harsh place to live in with unending winters all year long. But the People of Nifl are long become well-adapted to live in such conditions.

    Peony

Peony

She is a ljósálfr of the Realm of Dreams, and lives in the realm of Ljósálfheimr. Knowns as Peony of the Sweet Dream, she is upbeat, cheerful, and very kind. She appears at the end of Chapter 10 after Lelouch finds himself in the realm of Ljósálfheimr by his Annoymous Benefactor after being unable to train him further without revealing herself, which she cannot do at this point.
  • Dream Weaver: She creates and gives good dreams to mortals.
  • Floral Theme Naming: Like others in her realm she is named after the Peony flower.
  • Light Is Good: She is ljósálfr who is cheerful, upbeat, and kind to everyone, and loves to give everyone good dreams.
  • Nice Girl: Peony is the kindest girl you can meet.

    Triandra

Triandra

The first dökkálfr of the Realm of Nightmares Lelouch encounters shortly after arriving in the Realm of Dreams in Chapter 11, having been dispatched by her Queen to observe Lelouch on her orders. Unfortunately, her presence was quickly discovered by Lelouch's new ally, the mysterious Azem. Azem, to her shock, allows her to accompany them, which is meant to reassure her Queen, Freyja, that they would pose no threat to the realm and Azem herself isn't getting too close to her brother.

  • Abusive Parents: Lelouch discovers during Chapter 13 this when his Echo reveals a memory from Triandra's life as a human where as a child she and her younger sister were cruelly mistreated by their father, forced to live outside, even in winter, and left them dressed in rags. Triandra would murder her father in order to save both herself and her sister.
  • Dark Is Evil: It's debatable if she'll follow through on her villainous role alongside her Queen in Heroes but for now her dark attire and gloomy personality she could be considered dark at most, but if she does go evil that remains to be seen.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Like her fellow dökkálfr, Plumeria, Triandra's own outfit leaves much to the imagination.
  • Mysterious Watcher: Tries to be this in Chapter 11, but she is caught easily by Azem.
  • Nightmare Weaver: Her task is to give bad dreams to mortals, which might explain her personality.
  • Patricide: Triandra murdered her own father to prevent herself and her sister from dying under his cruel treatment, then unceremoniously disposed of his body over a cliff.
  • Plant Hair: Her hair has some thorny vines within it, something her hair can morph into.
  • So Much for Stealth: Not by any fault of her own, since Azem has implied and all but confirmed later in the chapter because she knew Triandra would already be there possessing knowledge of future events.

    Plumeria

Plumeria

The second dökkálfr Lelouch meets, and also a servant of Freyja who delivers nightmares like her partner and friend Triandra, but her brand of dreams are very different, which has left her jaded and disgusted of the desires built around such dreams.

  • Abusive Parents: Like her partner, Plumeria seems to recall an old memory where her mother abandoned her in a well, this was triggered by her outrage upon discovering Lelouch and his sister were abandoned in a foreign country to fend for themselves, especially when Britannia would declare war on Japan months later. On top of how Charles just didn't bother finding the killers of Lelouch's mother, justifying he had many more wives adding to her anger. She is confused by, but soon a memory of herself being abandoned as a child in a well seems to be the source of that.
  • Erotic Dream: Her primary job and the type of dreams she delivers, which would seem odd for someone from a land of nightmares. However, doing this job for years and seeing the desires and nature of such dreams has left her jaded and disgusted by such dreams. Lelouch suspects that part of it might be because she likely had to deliver dreams to some truly depraved people, or there is more to it.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Plumeria, although confused by why she is so outraged at first, is furious by how cruel Charles was to Nunnally and Lelouch, abandoning them and leaving them to die in another country, and did nothing to find Marianne's killers, later suspecting that herself had endured something similar.
  • Jumped at the Call: Because she generally hates her job of delivering dreams about sex to mortals, Plumeria is more than happy to aid Lelouch during his time in their world, because it means she cannot fulfill her duties of delivering exotic dreams to mortals making her the most willing of Freyja's servants to work with him.
  • Ms. Fanservice: A reluctant one at that, see Reluctant Fanservice Girl below, just like her friend and partner Triandra, Plumeria is a very beautiful woman with a attractive voluptuous figure, further empathized by her wearing a skin-tight leotard. Plumeria knows this, and doesn't like the unwanted attention it gives her, or at least those who look at her body too intently at least.
  • Reluctant Fanservice Girl: Plumeria is a extremely attractive woman and dresses very provocatively like Triandra does, but also its her job to make humans dream about sex. Something she dislikes doing, and even her powers are designed to induce lust in men and women as well, something Lelouch gathers she is clearly not fond of doing. Even more so she is aware of how beautiful she is and has no desire to be the target of anyone's lust, which is why she is initially uneasy around Lelouch, until much to her relief he isn't interested in her in such a fashion.
  • Side Boob: Thanks to her outfit, which shows this.
  • Take This Job and Shove It: Plumeria would LOVE to do nothing more than this if she could, so this an averted trope. During a conversation with Lelouch, he asks Plumeria if it would be possible to simply be reassigned to give different dreams. However, as Lelouch suspects its not that easy and was "born" into her role, something beyond Frejya's ability to control, so she can't change jobs, otherwise she would've done it a long time ago. It made it easier for her to being more willing to work with Lelouch, thereby escaping her job for a time.

    Fjorm

Fjorm

The Second Princess of Nifl, and the third child among the Royal Family of Nifl. She is the only survivor of her people to avoid being trapped in slumber when the world of Zenith was consumed by the darkness after the Heartless got to the Heart of her world. She would join Lelouch's party after he and the group find her buried in the snow while exploring Nifl. A kind young woman who is brave and determined, who gave it her all in trying to protect her mother and kingdom, but even with her world gone she is now determined to restore it.

  • An Ice Person: She grew up in Nifl which is a very cold place, as Azem notes she and the people of Nifl are naturally adapted for the cold, unending winter conditions of her homeland. She even uses ice magic in battle to supplement her fighting skills.
  • Commonality Connection: Fjorm and Lelouch realize they share much in common, both had lost their mothers and both of them desire retribution for their loss.
  • Determinator: Fjorm's most defining trait, after her mother was horrifically murdered before her eyes she fought Surtr in an ultimately vain effort to avenge her and save their kingdom. Despite her attacks doing no damage and getting beaten within an inch of her life by Surtr who merely toyed with her, she kept getting back up and kept fighting until her body finally gave out and collapsed.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Fjorm is horrified by how cruel Lelouch's father is, and concludes Britannia is worse than Múspell in certain ways. Surtr might be willing to murder his own children for their failures, but deems Charles zi Britannia as just as horrible as Surtr is, if not worse depending on your perspective.
  • Forced to Watch: Was made to watch Surtr burn her own mother alive, making sure to make it as slow and horrific as possible.
  • I Owe You My Life: She follows Lelouch because he found her buried in the snow, accidentally by tripping on it, in fact, it is a custom in her kingdom to repay someone if they rescue you from the snow.
  • Lady of War: A Princess of Nifl, and a strong and determined warrior on top of it who isn't afraid to go up against a monster like Surtr.
  • Made of Iron: Despite the beating Surtr gave her, as Lelouch observed, Fjorm just refused to stay down until her body couldn't take it anymore.
  • Revenge: Fjorm wants revenge on Surtr for not only attacking her homeland but for cruelly murdering her mother after she surrendered to him.

    Surtr

Surtr

The cruel and tyrannical king of Múspell, and the man who murdered Fjorm's mother after she and her kingdom surrendered. Sadistic and not showing anyone mercy, believing in might makes right to an extreme, finding delight when his enemies attack him, knowing they cannot harm him.

  • Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon: Uses a large axe as his weapon of choice, and is a violent and sadistic king who is cruel to everyone around him respecting strength and nothing more.
  • Evil Is Burning Hot: From his introduction alone he proves how cruel and sadistic he can be, and he uses the element of fire when he burns Fjorm's mother alive for nothing more than his own amusement.
  • Fiery Redhead: He has long red hair and a bread to match, and uses the element of fire.
  • Fireball Eyeballs: Actually it's one of his eyes, which he either lost at some point in his life and has been replaced with a constant burning flame.
  • Hate Sink: He quickly establishes himself as this, and Lelouch hates him upon witnessing what he did to Fjorm's mother, reminding him of his mother's own murder, and seeing his cruelty firsthand invoked nothing, but hate from Lelouch who would love to see him taken down viewing him as a living embodiment of everything he hates about his father and Britannia, but its worst aspects magnified. Even among the other characters of Fire Emblem Heroes he pretty much earns this too.
  • Invincible Villain: No matter how hard Fjorm fought, none of her attacks could harm Surtr who simply toyed with her and was amused by her efforts.
  • Jerkass: if everything said about Surtr didn't make it any clear, he is a massive asshole and one of the cruelest and most sadistic characters to join the story's cast so far.
  • Large and in Charge: According to official height charts he is at least about seven feet tall, towering over most characters and is the king of Muspell.
  • Might Makes Right: His main belief and justification for everything he does.
  • Obviously Evil: His armor and appearance alone is enough to show he is clearly not a good guy, in fact he is probably one of the most sadistic villains in the story introduced so far.
  • Sadist: A defining trait of his as he doesn't just kill people for the fun of it, he makes their deaths as agonizing as possible for his own enjoyment.
  • Tin Tyrant: Wears full armor, carries a big axe, and is a cruel and sadistic ruler.

    Nifl

Nifl

The Parton Goddess of Nifl, the Goddess of Ice, and one of the Divine Dragons who founded a realm for her mortal worshipers. A cold and seemingly emotionless goddess.

  • Dragons Are Divine: She is one of the divine dragon founders of a realm, hers being Nifl.
  • Emotionless Girl: When she speaks to Azem in Chapter 13 she barely shows any emotion beyond some mild annoyance.
  • Ice Queen: A very literal case, and the founder of a kingdom that has year-long winters.

    Embla

Embla

Parton Goddess of the Emblian Empire, and rival to the Parton God of the Kingdom of Askr. A cold, spiteful and jealous goddess, Embla is not fond of mortals in the slightest, viewing the rulers of the Emblian Empire who possess her blood as tools at best.

  • Bat Out of Hell: Her true form is that of a bat and dragon hybrid.
  • Dark Is Evil: She is the evil patron goddess of the Emblian Empire.
  • Demonic Possession: Mentions she is capable of this and plotted to take possession of Veronica to use her to sabotage any effort to restore the world to normal, this can be done to anyone possessing her blood.
  • Cape Wings: The wings on her lower back wrap around her waist like a skirt when not in use.
  • Egopolis: Like many of the gods and goddesses involved in the founding of their respective realms on Zenith, the Empire she helped create is named after her.
  • Eyepatch of Power: She wears an eyepatch over one of her eyes and is one of the divine founders of Zenith's realms.
  • Humans Are Bastards: Seems to hold this opinion of humans, in fact, she isn't distressed by the fact they are gone.
  • Patron God: She is the goddess who was involved in the founding of the Emblian Empire, giving its first Empress her blood, which her family throughout the generations have inherited.
  • Nothing but Skin and Bones: Outlines of her skeleton can be seen in the exposed parts of her outfit.
  • And I Must Scream: After Ardyn defeats her, Embla attempts to escape, but Ardyn catches her before infecting her with the same infection that corrupted and allowed Ardyn to enslave Ifirt, which can probably count as irony given how she has used her powers to possess and puppeteer members of the Emblian Empire's royal family.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Suffers one as Ardyn gains the upper hand in a battle that leaves her castle destroyed, and while she comes close to sealing away Ardyn upon realizing he's immortal, too bad for her he came prepared. Then unleashed Ifirt upon her, leaving her badly wounded from his surprise attack.

Harbingers of New Genesis

Is a world-spanning villainous organization founded by Ieyasu Partas and the "Architect" with the aid of its senior leadership providing access to resources and technology. They have many agents and their own military in place of using Heartless as their only minions unlike Maleficent. Their goals are unknown, but what is known is that they want to cause enough chaos for more Keyblade Wielders to emerge and they seek Kingdom Hearts.
    General
  • Anti-Villain: Ieyasu's motivations are sympathetic and understandable, along with some other members of his group, but how they achieve those aims is another story.
  • Badass Crew: You have the likes of Zeref, Ardyn Izunia, Rau Le Creuset, Count Saazbaum, and others, you likely have a collection of villains from Final Fantasy and Anime that makes potentially the most dangerous of the villain groups in the setting.
  • Evil Army: Basically, what the Harbingers are, under Ieyasu and the Architect's command.
  • Technologically Advanced Foe: The Harbingers use their agents and deals they've set up with certain figures on other worlds to obtain unique or advanced technology from them to use for themselves. In a sense they take the technology from others and make it better, giving them an edge against other villains due to their ships and war machine being much more advanced.
  • Super Breeding Program: Azem reveals in Chapter 13, that the Harbingers have been conducting these on select worlds, choosing harsh or specials worlds in the hopes of producing more potential Keyblade Wielders. So far the Earth of Code Geass is revealed to be one of these worlds, especially in Britannia. The other worlds haven't been revealed yet.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Weaponized by the Harbingers, as noted by Azem in Chapter 11, which could explain how they knew how events on Orience would play out and the existence of its cycles, but of course, that could be easily assumed they knew about them since time could always exist differently on their world because of it. However, Azem notes while they are unable to change events, not yet, they know enough about events meant to happen that they take advantage of them to help further their own goals. This is why Lelouch's Anonymous Benefactor and Azem are withholding so much from him because they can't risk the Harbingers finding out the details of their plans to stop them.

    "The Architect"

The mysterious co-leader and co-founder of the Harbingers alongside Ieyasu and his equal in the organization, but while Ieyasu has been seen so far, the Architect has remained hidden behind the scenes. With their true identity and much of their motivations and personality and more presently unknown.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Given the fact he/she is equal in rank as Ieyasu and helped create the Harbingers it is assumed that the Architect is just as powerful as Ieyasu or stronger.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Was the one who ordered the attack on Ashford Academy, assigning the task to Thrasir, not just because she could accomplish the task, but she would know how to properly "motivate" Lelouch to master his Keyblade to play a later role in their plans.
  • Man Behind the Man: Acts as this for the Harbingers as only a few are aware of their true identity with Thrasir and Líf acting as both their bodyguards and emissaries to issue orders to the others. Technically is this to Ieyasu, but they are both equal in rank and share leadership, but since Ieyasu is the more "public" leader of the organization while the Architect remains hidden.

    Ieyasu Partas

Ieyasu Partas

The Supreme Commander of the Harbingers and a Keyblade Master, few outside of the ranks of the Harbingers know much about him except he is among the most dangerous Keyblade Masters to exist possessing powers unseen by Keyblade Wielders. For now he has an aggression pact set up with Maleficent, keeping the two groups of villains from clashing against one another.

  • The Ace: Is noted to be Keyblade Master, having trained some of his own disciples granting them the power to use the Keyblade. No one knows how long he has been a Keyblade Master for, but in many instances in the story, he has been around for a long time providing combat skills on par with Master Xehanort but is much younger having the advantages of a stronger and more youthful body.
  • Affably Evil: No matter the situation he is very polite and calm to even his enemies, even warning some they should flee for their lives.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: He is the leader of the Harbingers who counts the likes of Zeref and Ardyn among their ranks, considering what they are capable of on their own it should be an indication of how powerful Ieyasu must be to be the leader over them.
  • Benevolent Boss: What sets him apart from other villains in the Kingdom Hearts setting is that he will make deals with his allies and underlings and always uphold his end of the bargain as long as you don't betray him. He takes his underlings into consideration and assigns them tasks/missions based on what they would be comfortable with and best suited to handle.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Ieyasu, despite his powers, isn't above using whatever tactics he must to gain victory and he uses whatever is around him as a weapon.
  • Determinator: His most frightening trait is his willpower and drive to accomplish his goals and face down whatever he is faced with being a man or god.
  • The Dreaded: Maleficent is afraid of him, which leads to her making alliances with the likes of Zenos and Fandaniel.
  • Four-Star Badass: He's the leader of the Harbingers, and he is willing to get into a fight personally to aid his allies.
  • Happily Married: It's revealed he is married to the Alpha Prototype.
  • I Control My Minions Through...: Kindness, see Benevolent Boss above. Ieyasu uses this to cement and earn the loyalty of his followers.
  • An Ice Person: Possesses considerable powers over ice able to create blizzards at a whim, soldiers out of ice, weapons and likely much more limited by his magical power and imagination.
  • The Mentor: As a Keyblade Master, he has taken Nagito, Monica, Sigma and possibly others under his wing training them to be effective Keyblade Wielders.
  • The Omniscient: Or so he would like his enemies and allies to believe, and he himself believes this to some extent. Due to the unique nature of his Keyblade, Ieyasu is able to observe many different Alternate Timelines, but as Lelouch's Anonymous Benefactor notes, there is a limit of how many timelines he can observe due to being still human, if not a very powerful human. He would need to know key details of specific events to find that timeline to see the outcome and what he must do to prepare for it, or stop it all together. This is why Lelouch's ally Azem and his A Nonymous Benefactor have been withholding information from him, to reduce the risk of Ieyasu discovering their plans to stop him.
  • One-Man Army: He easily helps cover the retreating Milites Empire as they flee from Akademeia, creating a small army of ice soldiers and blanketing the city and much of the area in a freezing blizzard to further cover their escape before boldly going into the city and dispatching many soldiers and students on his own, and defeated Lord Zhuyu, a Vermilion Bird Primus l'Cie, who are supposed to be akin to demigods.
  • World's Best Warrior: He is still among the worlds as being a Keyblade Master goes, which is strongly implied by those under him.

    Ardyn Izunia

Ardyn Izunia

The Chancellor of Niflheim and the one most chiefly responsible for the development and use of Niflheim's Magitek weapons that has allowed them to become so powerful to threaten Niflheim's enemy and rival, the Kingdom of Lucis. A friendly and unassuming man who hides his true nature behind his flamboyant attire and character concealing a dangerous and cunning mind. He is among the top leaders of the Harbingers, who thanks to being the Chancellor of Niflheim has allowed the Harbingers to gain access to resources including reverse engineering Niflhiem's Magitek technology for their own uses while in return Ieyasu has given him access to Harbinger resources and more to further his own goals while sometimes acting as the ambassador of the group.

  • Arch-Enemy: Mentioned in a conversation between Nagito and Sigma, that Ardyn has been waiting a long time for revenge on the Kingdom of Lucis. The reasons for this haven't been revealed in-story as of yet.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: He may be the Chancellor of Niflheim, but the fact he is of equal rank to Zeref given his own powers and title of Emperor, likely means Ardyn himself must be a force to be reckoned with. In Chapter 13 he faces Embla, and proves he is more than capable of taking on gods, thanks in part to being a powerful warrior, magic user, and a nearly unkillable immortal.
  • Badass Longcoat: Part of his usual attire is a black coat.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Anyone who has played Final Fantasy XV should know this man is dangerous and shouldn't be taken in by his chummy if not sometimes creepy friendly demeanor. He proves why he is so dangerous in Chapter 13, when he defeats Embla, a Goddess.
  • Co-Dragons: Serves this with Zeref, and the Alpha Prototype to Ieyasu who is the overall leader of the Harbingers.
  • Complete Immortality: His fight against Embla in Chapter 13, reveals Ardyn is this, as none of her attacks can put Ardyn down for good, simply reappearing even if he is completely destroyed. Those who know the character from his home game should know the cause for this. This is due to his soul becoming trapped in the Beyond when he touched the Crystal, the heart of his world, leaving his soul trapped in the same realm the astrals resides in allowing him to exist in both realms, making him functionally immortal until something is done about his soul in the astral realm. His own body also possessing immense regenerative abilities too, allowing him to heal from grievous wounds very quickly.
  • Evil Chancellor: It's his job title in Niflhiem.
  • Evil Is Hammy: Chummy, friendly and cheerful, and a troll.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: Ardyn has his own agenda, which the Harbingers are willing to help him achieve in exchange for his help.
  • Oh, Crap!: Maybe not to Embla, but no doubt to some readers because Chapter 13 reveals, Ardyn has a Keyblade of his own, allowing him to counter Embla's efforts to seal him away, which likely has also augmented his magical and fighting abilities.
  • Sissy Villain: Ardyn acts somewhat effeminate and flamboyant around people, sometimes on purpose to make them uncomfortable and/or to troll them.
  • Troll: One of his most defining traits.
  • Villain Respect: He respects Lelouch and notes "vengeful royals should stick together", hinting at his true nature and goal.

    Zeref Dragneel

Zeref Dragneel

One of the major villains of Fairy Tail, Zeref appears in the early chapters overseeing the attack on Ashford Academy and seeing to it that Lelouch is sent to Fódlan. He is among the co-leaders of the Harbingers reporting to Ieyasu and the Emperor of the Alvarez Empire and its founder, which allows the Harbingers access to resources provided by the Alvarez Empire and a powerful ally to aid them if need it. While civil, Zeref is not to be underestimated and is feared by his world as the most dangerous Black Wizard for a reason.

  • Affably Evil: So far Zeref has been polite and sociable and hasn't done anything evil or malevolent beyond merely overseeing events and actions carried out by the Harbingers.
  • All-Powerful Bystander: Despite his powers, Zeref has taken no active role in events of the story so far, either giving orders or overseeing things.
  • The Archmage: Recognized as the strongest mage among the Harbingers, rivaled only by Ieyasu due to having greater raw power, and the mysterious Architect whose magical knowledge and power far exceeded Zeref's power and knowledge.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Considering his reputation in his own world and his own powers, combined with him being only below Ieyasu in the chain of command among the Harbingers, Zeref earns this trope.
  • Badass Long Robe: Wears a black robe with a white toga as part of his standard attire.
  • Co-Dragons: He is this with Ardyn and a few others, directly under Ieyasu.
  • Dark Is Evil: Dresses in black and is known as the Black Wizard.
  • The Emperor: He is the founder and ruler of the Alvarez Empire.
  • Founder of the Kingdom: He created the Alvarez Empire.

    Alpha Prototype

Alpha Prototype

The master and the apex of the efforts of scientists to create a new race of hyper-intelligent women who could create a hive mind of those before her serving as mere "Prototypes" that led to her creation as her name implies. She comes from a world in a galaxy far away from the one known to the wider world of Kingdom Hearts. Quiet and speaking what needs to be said, she is one of the co-leaders of the Harbingers being the one who oversees their research and development, such as the creation of new ships and weapons while also reverse engineering any new technology the group obtains. She is also the current wife of Ieyasu.

  • Artificial Human: All but confirmed by her name that she was created in a lab before through natural means.
  • Hive Queen: She is the source of the Prototype Hive Mind, issuing commands to the lesser prototypes to fulfill her and her husband's agenda.
  • Happily Married: Strongly implied to be this with Ieyasu.
  • Super-Intelligence: Due to her genetic modifications and being boosted by the Prototype Hive Mind, the Alpha is hyper-intelligent as she was designed to be.
  • The Engineer: Serves as this for the Harbingers, responsible for reserve engineering whatever tech they find and creating everything from ships, mecha, and weapons for them.

    Líf

Líf

The silent bodyguard who protected Ardyn during his meeting with Charles zi Britannia, but also revealed to be one of the two Emissaries and Bodyguards for the Architect. He hasn't made any more appearances in the story, but his background and motivations remain unknown beyond being a formidable fighter.

For all tropes related to his character and his true identity check here

  • Bodyguarding a Badass: He does this for Ardyn, not that he needed it, but it was for show.
  • Cool Mask: It's hard to be certain if his glowing dragon-like mouth is actually his mouth or something else.
  • Mouth of Sauron: He serves as the emissary of the Architect.

    Thrasir

Thrasir

The one behind the attack on Ashford Academy and the one who abducted Nunnally under orders from the mysterious Architect. Wielding powers over the dead and mighty magic she easily defeated the ill-prepared and trained Lelouch before sending him away while handing over Nunnally to Maleficent.

For spoilers about her true identity and other tropes related to her, check here

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Poor Lelouch didn't even stand a chance since he didn't have any physical ability or any fighting ability to use with his newly gained Keyblade like Sora had. Not even Sayoko could do much to stop her.
  • Lady of Black Magic: Wields dark magic as her main weapon and can even raise the dead to fight for her.
  • Mouth of Sauron: Alongside Líf, she serves as this to the Architect.
  • Necromancer: Plays this straight with her raising resistance fighters to attack Ashford Academy along with the Heartless to help provide a better cover story behind the attack and to keep their actions hidden from Britannia.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Delivers a harsh one to Lelouch after easily beating him and kidnapping Nunnally.

    Count Saazbaum

Saazbaum

On another world he is an Orbital Knight and high-ranking member of the VERS Empire, among the Harbingers he is Veniczar who holds the rank of leader of all military affairs for the Harbingers. His appearances have been limited so far, but he has presented himself as professional, serious, and calm when dealing with everyone around him.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Considering both his home series and his rank in the Harbingers, he earned this through alternative means than possessing supernatural powers and the like.
  • Badass Normal: Despite lacking no magic powers or superhuman abilities, Saazbaum is among the highest-ranked members of the Harbinger commanding its military.
  • Dragon with an Agenda: Likely considering Ardyn and Zeref, Saazbaum likely has some deal with Ieyasu that has allowed him to not only have a position of high rank among the Harbingers, but his position in the VERS Empire has likely allowed them access to their technology as well to reverse engineer.

    Rau Le Creuset

Rau Le Creuset

The former commander of the Le Creuset team, having now appeared as one of the agents of the Harbingers since leaving his world. He is summoned by Ieyasu to take care of a mission on another world to ensure that Dekim Barton upholds his part of their deal and to collect what they are owed and to deal with the world as he sees fit.

  • Affably Evil: Just like in his home series he is civil and polite as well as thoughtful.
  • Back from the Dead: his comments during his first appearance in the story suggest this is Post-Gundam SEED so Rau either Escaped his death at the hands of Kira or was brought back.
  • The Chessmaster: The reason why Ieyasu assigns him the task of helping Dekim and ensuring they get what they were promised. His experience of being a Manipulative Bastard who has handled men like Dekim before makes him more suited for the task. In his home series he cunningly manipulated both the Earth Alliance and ZAFT into nearly destroying themselves and was just barely stopped before the world ended.
  • Char Clone: Given his home series, and the mask he wears he definitely fits this, but also he is a darker version.
  • Double Reverse Quadruple Agent: In his home series he was a Double Agent for Patrick Zala, the leader of ZAFT, and Muruta Azrael the leader of Blue Cosmos and indirectly the Earth Alliance, but the fact he seems to be a high ranking member of the Harbingers imply he was double-crossing both of them for the Harbingers, likely giving them military secrets and tech, considering what he had given Azrael near the end of the series, it's likely the Harbingers got a copy too.
  • Manipulative Bastard: He impressively manipulates everyone in his home series and nearly brought about the end of the world thanks to it, it's because of these skills that Ieyasu wants him to handle Dekim being similar to Patrick whom he had wrapped around his finger.

    Nagito Komaeda

Nagito Komaeda

Once known as the Ultimate Lucky Student of Hope's Peak Academy, he is now one of the students of Ieyasu wielding his own Keyblade and is a high-ranking member of the Harbingers as well being noted by some to be the strongest student among those he has granted the Keyblade too, something complimented by his luck. A highly intelligent young man with an unusual worldview and a seemingly friendly personality, but his true goals and reasons for joining the Harbingers are unknown.

  • Ambiguously Evil: Much like in his home game, Nagito can be dangerous and unempathetic when working for the sake of hope, and his involvement with the villains can be worrying for those who know the character. However considering what happened to him before his appearance in the story we don't know how much he is acting of his own will, or he is still Brainwashed by Junko at this point.
  • Anime Hair: His white hair branches out in some weird ways.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Seems to have a worrying knack for being able to read people, which is very accurate. Helped by likely his luck, but Nagito is quite intelligent in his own right.
  • Born Lucky: He possesses very potent luck, which can work very well in his favor in unexpected ways, but at the same time it can work against him to the point he would be considered Born Unlucky. Sometimes the more unfortunate his luck is, the better the resulting good luck shall be.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Becoming a trained wielder of the Keyblade counts as this, and Nagito was already pretty dangerous on his own given his intellect and luck. He hasn't been seen fighting yet, but it's implied he has also learned how to use his luck as part of his fighting ability.
  • Wild Card: His luck makes him this to the Harbingers that doesn't just help him in battle, just as much it can work against him under the right conditions, but it could influence events as a whole. Something Ieyasu wants to make use of despite knowing the risks.

    Sigma

Sigma

A mysterious young woman who is one of Ieyasu's students and wielder of the Keyblade, her origins haven't been fully revealed in her introduction chapter, but it is strongly implied she comes from the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

  • Artificial Human: Strongly implied to be one, given her appearance.
  • Albinos Are Freaks: Technically not one, but she has pale skin and red eyes.
  • Ambiguously Human: Other than the implication she might be a clone, we know very little about what she is.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: She appears quiet at first glance, but there is a lot of rage boiling under the surface as she is eager to bring ruin to her own world.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name is Sigma; its unknown if it's her actual name or a nickname, but it was one for a similarly named villain from a certain web series, ironic given that she is quite ambitious and likely creative too.
  • Mysterious Past: Sigma's origins are unknown only that she comes from a certain Earth involving giant robots.
  • Only Sane Man: Or woman in this case as she is shown to be annoyed by Nagito's antics and is usually the voice of reason between them.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Clearly has a serious grudge against her own homeworld, and is eager to destroy it.
  • Rei Ayanami Expy: More in a physical sense, given she is a clone of the trope namer, but her personality is quite different.
  • Tranquil Fury: Shows clearly restrained anger at her own home world, and NERV specifically, eager to see them destroyed.

Maleficent's Alliance of Villains

The group of classic Disney Villains brought together by Maleficent to locate the Seven Princesses of Heart to seize Kingdom Hearts for herself with the intent of conquering all worlds using the Heartless at her command. However, Maleficent has been expanding her alliance to find more potent allies than those she had in the canon of Kingdom Hearts to compete against another party seeking the same thing as her, despite...for now...having a non-aggression pact between her and the Harbingers.
    General
  • Beware the Silly Ones: While some of the Disney villains who have joined Maleficent are from child-friendly movies and shows, sometimes being comical and goofy. But silly and comical doesn't mean harmless given the number of worlds the Heartless they've unleashed have laid waste to.
  • Evil Versus Evil: What Maleficent believes will come to pass between her and the Harbingers, but she doesn't know about Organization XIII yet.
  • Large Ham: Maleficent and many of the villains in the alliance are this, especially the newcomer Fandaniel.
  • Legion of Doom: Maleficent's alliance consists of some notable and famous Disney villains, just like in Kingdom Hearts. However, due to the Harbingers, she has begun expanding the ranks of her alliance adding some new names and villains to it.
  • Obviously Evil: Most of them are this, although there are some exceptions.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: The group as a whole cares little for the destruction the Heartless have caused, having caused millions to be killed in the worlds the Heartless have consumed or many more turned into Heartless themselves. However, some of its new members like Fandaniel play this trope more straight.

    Maleficent

Maleficent

The self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil, Maleficent has gained control of the Heartless and has been using them to conquer and consume most worlds in her search for the Seven Princesses of Heart. An ancient evil fairy of terrible power, cunning, and danger whose actions have left hundreds, if not thousands of worlds consumed by the Heartless. Hails from the Enchanted Dominion as her original world.

  • The Ace: While there might be some Final Fantasy and Anime mages who could match her and more, Maleficent is undoubtedly among the most powerful of the Disney Villains, and managing to get featured in many crossovers, shows, and more.
  • The Archmage: Hailed as one of the strongest Disney Villains bearing some exceptions, and has the magic and cunning to back it up.
  • All-Encompassing Mantle: wears one as part of her usual attire.
  • Big Bad: serves as this for the original Kingdom Hearts game, and in this story serves as the enemy both Lelouch and Sora must face, albeit for different reasons which for Lelouch's case is to rescue Nunnally from her.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Proclaiming herself as Mistress of all Evil counts.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Loves to engage with this as some, if not most of her comments are dripping with sarcasm.
  • Evil Is Hammy: Just listen to some of her lines, she loves to chew the scenery.
  • Evil Is Petty: Well considering what she did in the movie she came from, just because she wasn't invited to a party celebrating the birth of a royal family's daughter.
  • Evil Sorceress: An ancient and evil fairy who commands power over the darkness and possesses a wide knowledge of dark and evil forms of magic.
  • Evil Overlord: Being called the Mistress of Evil does qualify her for this, but the fact she commands a cabal of other villains and commands an army of Heartless allows her to earn it.
  • Lady of Black Magic: Maleficent is a master of various forms of dark magic and black magic on top of that and more.
  • Magic Staff: Carries one around with her, and wields it when casting spells.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: According to Word of God, the only reason Maleficent hasn't challenged the Harbingers directly is that she knows waging a three-way war could be more costly and damaging to her ultimate goal, not to mention she is aware the group has some unkillable members, but that doesn't mean she has been idle and has been looking for new allies and ways to gain an advantage over them when they inevitably clash for Kingdom Hearts.
  • Smug Super: As powerful and cunning as Maleficent can be, one of her faults is her superiority complex, which most Disney Villains have, but Maleficent takes well beyond them in extremes combined with a hefty dose of narcissism. However, her considerable magic and powers put her on par and make her one of the strongest villains among the Disney villains, so her confidence in her own power isn't unjustified.

    Pete

Pete

Formerly a Steamboat Captain until he would later turn to mischief-making, which would get out of hand and out of his control that he was banished to another dimension as punishment until Maleficent happened upon him, setting him free. He has since served as her right-hand man and intends on aiding her to conquer the other worlds, so he could rule over a few being Maleficent's second-in-command. Ruthless, driven, and power-hungry, Pete will gladly do what it takes to win and get what he wants, and what he believes he deserves.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Appears one whole game earlier than first appearing in Kingdom Hearts 2.
  • Butt-Monkey: Pete never gets a break as he is the games and certainty not in this story, but don't assume he isn't any less dangerous under the right circumstances.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: As much of a buffoon he can be, Pete is capable in a fight if motivated. He can use magic, is a capable race car driver, skilled with computers, and was a good steamboat captain before turning to villainy. Not to mention he is capable of commanding an army of Heartless with no ill effects showing an impressive will and resilience managing to avoid losing his heart to them.
  • Dirty Coward: He literally runs for it when Alisaie proceeds to go after him in Chapter Ten to stop the Heartless, not completely unjustified, but he will likely run at the first sign of things going south for him.
  • The Dragon: Serves as the number two to Maleficent.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Having been a once humble Steamboat Captain, but likely due to his own deckhand becoming king Pete likely became driven by jealousy to gain recognition until his efforts backfired and got him banished. Now after being freed by Maleficent he serves as her right hand and has been building a new army of Heartless for her while proving capable of commanding them without losing himself to the Heartless.

    Zenos yae Galvus

Zenos yae Galvus

The former Evil Prince of the Garlean Empire, and now its Emperor after murdering his own father, Emperor Varis. Although he had no interest for the throne initially, being more interested in having a rematch against his Warrior of Light whose fight against him to the death gave him the greatest joy he has ever known, having longed to face someone who could challenge him. But he takes the throne after some encouragement from his new partner to use the Empire's resources to create an ideal stage for a rematch against Gerard, but he is soon approached by Maleficent with an offer for an alliance.

Formerly the Legatus of the XIIth Legion and Viceroy of Ala Mhigo before his defeat and death, but death didn't end him. Ruthless and bloodthirsty, but also terrifyingly intelligent Zenos seeks only to challenge those who can face him finding no joy or pleasure in anything else. He wants nothing more than a rematch against the Warrior of Light and will bring about the end of the world to provide a fitting stage for their clash.

For more on him, check here.

  • Arch-Enemy: The Warrior of Light, Gerard, who has been the only one to actually defeat him, finding, at last, a Worthy Opponent, and will gladly bring about the end of the world for a rematch.
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: As much of a ruthless Blood Knight he can be, Zenos is a dangerously aggressive intellectual fighter. He is usually calm and collected and can cunningly devise plans, but one instance of his intellect is that when Zenos was faced with a captive swordmaster to be a personal teacher, he mastered his tutor's own special moves and techniques through observation alone after each beating and training secession he endured until he surpassed his tutor.
  • Ax-Crazy: Initially played with during his first appearances in Stormblood expansion, but after the Warrior of Light becomes the Worthy Opponent they've longed to face, finding at last someone who could challenge him. He becomes elevated and delighted by the prospect. Even before the Warrior of Light came along, Zenos just cut down most people in his way with little regard for them, and spares some in the hopes they could challenge him again and provide better "sport." Yes, Zenos, who had everything, and found nothing left to aspire to could only find pleasure in a fight to the death against a worthy foe, and when death didn't put him down for good, he wants not only a rematch but wants the backdrop of their duel to include the world in flames, showing that Zenos is crazy for a lack of a better word.
  • Bad Boss: He is worse than most Kingdom Heart villains in this regard, such as he'll causally kill his own men for little reason or for something that wasn't their fault, even on the battlefield those who fight with him aren't safe from him as he'll cut them down without a second thought if they are in his way.
  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: Before the events of the story, Zenos studied Gaius van Baelsar's report on the Echo used by the Warrior of Light. So, he had his scientists work to create an artificial version, which after some testing he was granted an Artificial Echo that not only make him much stronger than he was, but he gained the ability to merge with and control a Primal, and later survive his own suicide following his death.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Following his first defeat at the hands of the Warrior of Light at the end of Stormblood, Zenos content he had faced someone who could best him slits his own throat, which denied those he oppressed a chance to get justice for the horrific acts his rule inflicted upon them. Unfortunately for everyone, it didn't stick.
  • Blood Knight: Zenos wants only one thing and one thing only, someone who can challenge him. Because he was such a formidable warrior, finding such foes was becoming rarer and rarer until the Warrior of Light came along. Not only could the Warrior of Light challenge him, but he defeated him experiencing a pleasure he never knew before, and longed for a rematch after surviving his own suicide. Maleficent uses this tendency to offer Zenos a worthy foe in She-Ra, as a warm-up before facing Gerard in what he wishes to be an inevitable rematch.
  • Broken Ace: Raised by the Empire to be the ultimate warrior and killing machine, and a lack of care and proper parenting from his own father. Born with a genius-level intellect, and as Crown Prince, he had everything he could've wanted and was at the top of society with nothing to aspire or work towards leaving him depressingly bored until his own swordmaster tutor made an attempt on his life. This event would spark Zenos' Blood Knight tendencies that would shape and influence him as he grew into an adult.
  • Body Surf: Unwittingly gains this ability after the experiments gave him an Artificial Echo, which he uses to jump from one body to another intent on reclaiming his body back from the Ascian who had taken possession of it, which he succeeds in before events of the story. However, he can use this power to leave his body behind and enter anybody at will to possess it.
  • Came Back Strong: After his suicide, Zenos survives by possessing the body of a resistance member, while weaker than his own body he grows stronger as he moves into another body intent on reclaiming his body. He becomes strong enough that he can possess most people at will and he even forces out the powerful Ascian possessing his body causing them to flee rather than face him. And unlike those of his people who cannot use magic, Zenos has shown the ability to wield magic including darkness-aligned magic and can use advanced teleportation to move around, something he wasn't capable of before.
  • Evil Has Standards: A twisted version, and the reason he killed his own father the Emperor, was because his "petty" wars and cowardly use of chemical weapons would have interfered with his hunt for the Warrior of Light.

    Fandaniel

Fandaniel

Zenos's Ascian ally who encouraged Zenos to claim the Empire for himself to use its resource so that he could prepare his Hunting Ground for the Warrior of Light. With Zenos's blessing, Fandaniel begins using the Empire's resources and forms a new organization dedicated to recreating the Final Days. A cunning and devious madman who wishes for nothing more than to bring an end to everything, he was the one who encouraged Zenos to accept Maleficent's alliance seeing the Heartless as useful and the benefits the alliance could provide.

For more info on him, Here.

  • Ax-Crazy: He is "relatively" unhinged when compared to The Stoic Blood Knight Zenos, but those who have played Endwalker should know we haven't seen anything yet.
  • Cute and Psycho: Has a handsome face thanks to his host body, but he is the most insane and devious among the villains so far who makes Rau Le Creuset look tame at his worst.
  • Evil Is Hammy: More so than most villains and happily treats the the offering of knowledge of how to create Primals to other villains of Maleficent's alliance as a salesman eager to sell his customers something.
  • Mind-Control Device: He explains to the villains visiting their lair that the towers he created are linked to a new Primal he has created, who in turn, will temper anyone who approaches the tower turning them into loyal servants of the Garlean Empire instead of a single Primal like normal. Those controlled in this fashion either make up the army of the forces he and Zenos command, or they are used as batteries to power the tower that tempered them.
  • And I Must Scream: Not for him, but for Zenos's father, Varis zos Galvus who was killed by his own son simply because he stood in the way of Zenos's hunt for the Warrior of Light and he didn't want his chemical weapon to impede his hunt. But after his death, his corpse is used by Fandeniel to create the Primal, Anima using the faith the people had in their Emperor to create him. Then his body was cut apart to use as the cores for the towers that act as extensions of Anima, doubling as a Fate Worse than Death.

    Anima

Anima

The Primal created by Fandaniel using the corpse of the late Emperor Varis zos Galvus sometime after Zenos killed him, using Varis's corpses and the fervent desire of the people of the Garlean Empire for their Emperor to return and save them from the civil war destroying the empire resulted in Anima. Located in the Tower of Babel, the built out of the royal place into a massive tower serving as the source for the smaller towers, created with a piece of Varis's body as the core allowing these towers to act as extensions of Anima who is under the complete control of both Fandaniel and Zenos.

  • And I Must Scream: Varis zos Galvus who was killed by his own son simply because he stood in the way of Zenos's hunt for the Warrior of Light and he didn't want his chemical weapon to impede his hunt. But after his death, his corpse is used by Fandeniel to create the Primal, Anima using the faith the people had in their Emperor to create him. Then his body was cut apart to use as the cores for the towers that act as extensions of Anima, doubling as a Fate Worse than Death.
  • Brainwashing: A unique case compared to other Primals, where instead of making its victims loyal to the Primal they are loyal to the Garlean Empire and by extension Zenos and Fandaniel who control Anima. Its influence spreads through the smaller towers created using a piece of Varis's dismembered body as its core allowing Anima to spread its influence far and wide, even to other worlds. Those who approach the towers will end up either as a living battery to sustain the tower to a soldiers enslaved to Zenos and Fandaniel.
  • Body Horror: The original Anima was monstrous in appearance when first seen in Final Fantasy X, but here it's even more monstrous in appearance and really bad news. More so when you understand how this Anima was created.
  • Came Back Wrong: An understatement, you can't even really recognize any traces of Varis, even if some fragments of him did remain he has been completely enslaved by his own son and Fandaniel.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Considering the original Anima was one already, but here it's a more corrupted and monstrous version than the original.
  • Gender Flip: The original Anima from Final Fantasy X was female, but here it is male.
  • Red Baron: Eikon of Eikons, worthy of such a title since he is by far the most dangerous Primal to date barring a few exceptions.

    Thales

Thales

The leader of the mysterious Those who Slitter in the Dark, they are secretly responsible for manipulating much of events in Fódlan for hundreds of years while holding a special animosity for the Church of Serios. Devious and patient, many of Thales' plans have been decades in the work, from manipulating events as part of a grander scheme for revenge against those who cast them down long ago.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Compared to Fire Emblem Three Houses and Three Hopes, Thales appears in Chapter ten of the story meeting with Maleficent and accepting her offer of an alliance. A forced necessity since someone or something destroyed his main base of operations, Shambala was raided and all of its inhabitants are killed, weakening the organization as a whole and leaving them without much of their advanced technology.
  • Beard of Evil: Has a rather large white goatee.
  • Big Bad: He's the overall villain of Fire Emblem Three Houses and Three Hopes, much of the game's tragedies and events happened because of him.
  • Cold Ham: Usually stoic, extending a controlled and calm persona while speaking in an imposing and dramatic way.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Has white hair with white eyes, but some bits of black on the top of his head.
  • Didn't See That Coming: He is caught completely off guard with his main base of operations, Shambala, having been destroyed by an unknown party he wasn't aware of, which forced him to accept Maleficent's invitation.
  • The Leader: Thales is the leader of Those who Slitter in the Dark.
  • Time for Plan B: Invokes this after seeing Anima, giving Thales some ideas after Fandaniel gladly tells him all he needs to know how to make a Primal of his own, and sees a way to get his plans back on track. Obviously, this isn't a good sign for those back on Fódlan.

    Kronya

Kronya

A member of Those who Slitter in the Dark, and serves as an assassin for the group. Her appearance and general attitude suggest she might be among the youngest members of the organization, being a cheerful yet bloodthirsty young woman.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Alongside Thales, she appears earlier in events of Three Houses, due to Shambala being destroyed by an unknown party.
  • Animal Motifs: Her rather revealing attire provokes the images of Scorpions given the three tails that are part of her leotard.
  • Ax-Crazy: Cheerful, but very bloodthirsty with a hair-temper trigger.
  • Blood Knight: Not to the extent as Zenos, but she will gladly take any chance to indulge in some carnage.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Her outfit is quite revealing showing off her cleavage and a lot of skin and her curves.
  • Perky Female Minion: She is the only female with Thales and is the youngest of his group being around eighteen.

    Validar

Validar

One of the major villains from Fire Emblem Awakening, he is a dark mage and leader of the Grimleal, a cult that worships the evil dragon Grima while working to resurrect their god. His reasons for joining Maleficent are not known, but he is accompanied by a hooded person when they visit the Tower of Babel to see Anima and learn about the art of making Primals.
