  • Evil Is Petty:
  • I Have Your Wife: He takes Lionel as bait so that Albion can take joy in killing Viviane as revenge by proxy against the Tylwythians, along with the forces of Brutus of Troy, for having killed him and his kin. Subverted in the case of Anna as he had no part in that one.
  • Manipulative Bastard: In regards to what he wishes to manipulate Albion into doing to achieve his own goals.
  • Revenge by Proxy: He found that he was too late to kill Luther for imprisoning him, so he killed his wife and Arthur's mother in his place. This act of betrayal, during which he was posing as a child, is part of the reason Arthur chose to join the Knights Inquisitor.
  • Shout-Out: "Tonight, the age of man comes to an end."

It's only goal is to follow the directive given to it by its creator, God, to purify existence of anything that can corrupt Edenian design (namely being demons and excess Quintessence). Thus the Protectress expanded its directive to include Humans to its targets of extermination as well to prevent them from corrupting the Creator's design. It is for this reason that God banished it to the Netherworld.
