The Guild Master of Labyrinth and also one of the Seven Crowns.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Usually presents herself as a wisecracking, easygoing crepe shop owner, but when things get serious it's not hard to see why she is one of the Seven Crowns.
  • Big Good: The Leader of the fight against the Seven Crowns, of which she was once a part of, and of La Résistance against Kaiser Insight's rule over Landsol in Re:Dive.
  • Cool Big Sis: Likes to refer to herself as “onee-san” while dispensing sage advice to the younger characters.
  • Defector from Decadence: Was the first to defect from Wisdom and the Seven Crowns after their amoral, power-hungry actions became too much for her.
  • Deus Exit Machina: Labyrista's first major involvement in a fight immediately ends with her in a coma, after stopping Mana from killing half the main cast with a giant laser beam, preventing her from assisting the protagonists from that point forward... except not really, as her consciousness was actually moved to an android body in the real world, and she can still return to her Astrum avatar for limited amounts of time when necessary.
  • For Want Of A Nail: In her teenage years, Labyrista was an anti-social, misanthropic young genius who preferred the company of computers and AI over human interaction. Had she not had a chance encounter with a certain young boy who changed her outlook on life, she may have become just like Mana, which perhaps explains why she continually tries to reach out to Mana despite everything that has happened between the two of them.
  • Friendly Enemy: Ends up developing this sort of relationship with most of the other Seven Crowns after she defects. Even as she continues to foil their plans, the others continually offer a hand of reconciliation and politely ask for her to return to their side. Christina notably shows up at her crepe stand looking to have a friendly chat in-between battles. Labyrista herself never stops treating them like old friends, even as she disagrees with their actions.
  • Hour of Power: Her Union Burst immensively buffs her attack stats for a short time, activates a special field effect that increases physical critical hit damage, and changes her skills to more powerful versions that she will spam with impunity. However, after a short time, she'll activate skill which deals massive damage to all enemies, but cancels the field effect and changes her skills back to normal. It also empties out her TP gauge, forcing her to build it up again in her normal mode.
  • It's All My Fault: She blames herself for Yuuki's amnesia since she was the one who got Yuuki involved in the plot of the original Princess Connect, which led to his and Twinkle Wish's ill-fated battle against Kaiser Insight.
  • The Mentor: Knows far more about the situation than almost any other character in both Princess Connect and Re:Dive, and uses her knowledge to guide Yuuki and his allies on their adventure.
  • Meteor of Doom: Demonstrates the versatility and power of her ability, Object Creation, by casually dropping a meteor on an enemy.
  • Motherly Scientist: One of the creators of Minerva, and likes to think of Minerva as something like a daughter to her. Is also the only Seven Crown that Muimi considers a good person.
  • Omnidisciplinary Scientist: Despite her insisting that she's nothing more than a humble crepe shop owner, Labyrista is actually a genius hacker and programmer, as evidenced by the fact that she was one of the main developers behind the first sentient AI, Minerva, as well as Legend of Astrum. One might be forgiven for thinking that her main field of expertise is computer science, but no, she's actually a licensed medical doctor. On top of this, she also enjoys dabbling in other scientific fields, inventing a device to travel between dimensions in one dubiously canon story event. At one point, she humble brags that she enjoys making crepes so much because it's the one thing that she found she was actually mediocre at.
  • The Professor: One of the smartest members of a cast already filled with a fair number of geniuses, she is well-versed in technology and often the source of technical expertise when it comes to Legend of Astrum.
  • Promoted to Playable: After spending much time playing the mysterious mentor over two games, Labyrista finally became a playable character in the second story arc of Re:Dive.
  • Secretly Wealthy: Her day job is running a rather modest-looking crepe stand, but it's eventually revealed that she is rather wealthy, much like the other Seven Crowns.
  • Silly Rabbit, Cynicism Is for Losers!: Was once a Wide-Eyed Idealist who dreamt of becoming a doctor like her father so she could save people, only to become a brooding misanthrope in her teens after her beloved father was betrayed and killed in an unspecified incident, leading her to loathe humans for being selfish, untrustworthy scum. However, after meeting Yuuki as a child and being exposed to his relentless optimism and heroism, she had an epiphany and quickly swung back to being a idealist earnestly wanting to make the world a better place like Yuuki.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Labyrista can pull off absolutely miraculous feats of hacking that can border on Deus ex Machina at times, and her unique ability as one of the Seven Crowns is Object Modification, the ability to more or less change or create anything as she sees fit, including entire pocket dimensions. As such, she is usually busy or incapacitated in some manner to justify why she has to rely on Yuuki and his friends to solve problems for her instead.
  • Super-Empowering: She's the one who made Yuuki a Princess Knight.

Hobbies: All Housework

The typical big sister model, though can be a bit too strict and even cruel at the time. She is Yuuki’s childhood friend who frequently claims to be his older sister.
  • Assimilation Backfire: Shizuru's love for Yuuki is so strong that upon being possessed by the Anti-Beasts, her emotions end up overpowering the monsters and she ends up being the one controlling them instead.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Merely trying to take her little brother away from her will cause Shizuru to snap.
    • Likewise, anyone trying to take on a Cool Big Sis role for Yuuki around Shizuru will also cause her to immediately radiate a chilling homicidal aura, because only she is allowed to be Yuuki's big sister. Yuni finds this out the hard way after cracking an unfortunately timed joke about becoming Yuuki's "yunii-chan" so she can spoil him.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Anyone who dares to harm her little brother will face the cold, hard steel of her blade.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Can often act very irrationally when it comes to Yuuki, but that doesn’t stop her from being an incredibly effective agent for Labyrista, whenever her obsession with her "little brother" isn't getting in the way.
  • Broken Ace: Beautiful, intelligent, and strong, she excels at just about anything she puts her mind to, but will only use her numerous talents for the sake of her obsessive "sisterly" love for Yuuki.
  • Broken Pedestal:
    • Though she never quite stops admiring her, Rino becomes incredibly exasperated with Shizuru's antics concerning Yuuki as time goes on. Labyrinth's guild story involves her fervently telling herself that Shizuru would never break their promise to Labyrista and make contact with Yuuki while abandoning her duties just so she could go on a date with him until the evidence in front of her eyes is too much to ignore.
    • On a more downplayed example, Shizuru's classmate from school, Yuni, thinks that Shizuru is pretty much the perfect individual, being beautiful, friendly and sociable, completely unlike Yuni herself. The only trait they share are their excellent grades. However, her impressions are completely shattered once she sees how Shizuru is around Yuuki, being slightly touched at how doting Shizuru is over her "little brother", but mostly just cringing at how socially inappropriate Shizuru acts around him.
  • Character Catchphrase: "It's your big sister!"
  • Childhood Friend: Took care of Yuuki when they were little before moving away, only to return shortly before the story began, which is her justification for treating him like a little brother.
  • Commonality Connection: Regarded Rino with suspicion during their first meeting until she discovered they both considered Yuuki their brother figure.
  • Cool Big Sis: Tries to be one to Yuuki and Rino, though only Rino thinks of her as one.
  • Foreshadowing: A slight case of Interface Spoiler. In the event The Magical Girl Duo: We Are Misty & Purely, her Memory Pieces are available to collect, which correlates to her being a side character in the event's story. But then the latter half of the story shows she was corrupted by Anti-Beasts from the start, setting her as one of the main threats the magical girls must face.
  • Headbutt of Love: Played with. She stops Rino's motor-mouthing this way... and it causes shockwaves.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Calmly explains to Rino why it's a bad idea to make contact with Yuuki... before promptly doing just that, much to Rino's shock.
  • Like Brother and Sister: She obsesses over the idea of being Yuuki’s older sister despite being related neither by blood nor law to him. Also considers herself an older sister to Rino, but she acts considerably less strangely towards her.
  • Mysterious Protector: Half-heartedly plays this role to Yuuki, showing up at key moments in the story to protect him while knowing far more about the situation than she lets on. However, due to her extreme attachment to him, she's dying to spill the beans to him and has to be kept on a leash by Rino.
  • Power of Love: Attributes everything she can do to the strength of the love she has for her little brother. Notably showcased in her 6* character episodes. Every other girl requires some sort of Love Epiphany or Die or Fly moment to transform into their 6* form. Not Shizuru. She just thinks really hard about how much she loves Yuuki for an entire night and then calls him over the next day to show off her newfound powers.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Flip-flopped. As befitting their color schemes, Shizuru is usually the calmer, wiser one between her and Rino. On the other hand, the moment Yuuki is involved, she loses all self-restraint and Rino ends up being the one keeping her in line instead.
  • Red String of Fate: Somehow twists the concept into her and Yuuki being "siblings tied by the red string of fate".
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Shizuru is this to Eriko when it comes to competing for Yuuki's love and attention.
  • Stone Wall: Her role in gameplay is to be a secondary tank that stands in the middle of the team and casts buffs and healing on the rest of the party. In the story, her defense is so solid that even when Karyl is literally killing herself from the strain of firing a massive magical blast at her, Shizuru is able to strike up casual conversation with her allies while shielding them from harm, barely breaking a sweat.
  • Yandere: Whether regular Shizuru qualifies is up for debate, but she definitely qualifies after being corrupted by the Anti-Beasts into Shizuru Noire and attempting to murder Kasumi and Shiori for getting too close to Yuuki.

Race: Humanfolk
Birthday: Aug 25 (Virgo)
Age: 15
Height: 156 cm (5.1 ft)
Weight: 44 kg (97 lbs)
Blood Type: A
Hobbies: Sewing

A little sister figure Yuuki used to take care of in the past.
  • Childhood Friend: Yuuki looked after her when they were children. The two are separated for a long period of time when she moves away but Rino returns shortly before the start of the story.
  • Commonality Connection: Was wary of Shizuru during their first encounter until Shizuru referred to Yuuki as "otouto-kun" note .
  • Dumb, but Diligent: The poor girl isn't the brightest bulb in the shed, and is mockingly labeled by the game's Shiritori minigame as "the stupid girl", but what she lacks in smarts she makes up in enthusiasm. Though, she takes a particularly big blow to her confidence after failing her design school entrance exam, and the Rino in Wonderland event is centered around her journey to find her lost enthusiasm.
  • Like Brother and Sister: Admires Yuuki as an older brother figure and Shizuru as an older sister figure, whom she calls "onii-chan" and "Shizuru onee-chan", respectively. Unlike Shizuru, however, she isn't content with simply being seen as a sister by Yuuki forever.
  • Little Sister Heroine: Yuuki's adorable, childish, and upbeat little sister who loves him to bits, designed to evoke this trope to a tee. The thing is, she isn't actually related to him, or even his stepsister, but merely a particularly attached childhood friend who calls him "onii-chan".
  • Malaproper: Absolutely dreadful at idioms. It is rare that she will remember a single one correctly despite using them liberally in everyday conversation. Her very first line in the story includes "the elephant of surprise," and one of her home-screen lines does this backwards, where she hears "it's chilly outside" and thinks there's chili--as in the type of food--raining from the sky, or something. Shizuru is usually there to gently correct her when she messes up.
  • Rain of Arrows: Her trademark attack. Her Union Burst, Arrow Rain, litters the battlefields with arrows, while her upgraded Union Burst, Corona Rain, gives her arrows explosive properties while also surrounding her with magical flaming bows that fire additional arrows for her.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Is usually the excitable, immature one while Shizuru is the calm one, but the relationship is flipped on its head whenever Yuuki is involved.

Birthday: Jan 24 (Aquarius)
Height: 157 cm (5.2 ft)
Weight: 40 kg (88.2 lbs)
Blood Type: B
Hobbies: Watching Stage Performances, Dancing

A solo idol who started the guild to expand on her career.
  • Draw Aggro: As a secondary tank, her Union Burst skill can allow enemies to attack her, allowing main tanks like Jun, Pecorine, Lima and Miyako to recover either with their skills or units like Maho and Yui.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Nozomi admits that having an idol career basically denies her of having an actual life. It's why she falls in love for Yuuki in the first place, as Yuuki treats her as a normal girl rather than her idol self.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: Nozomi tries to avoid people thinking that she and Yuuki are a couple since idols are not meant to be in relationships. At the same time though, she's not against the idea of going out with him.
  • Weight Woe: After overeating a bit and gaining some pounds, Nozomi, with Yuuki's help tries to exercise and sweat the fat out, with hilarious results.

Race: Humanfolk
Birthday: Jun 3 (Gemini)
Height: 163 cm (5.3 ft)
Weight: 46 kg (101.4 lbs)
Blood Type: O
Hobbies: Various Musical Instruments

A Song Summoner who is not too confident in singing like an idol.
  • Amnesia Episode: In "The Carol That Never Was" (in the mobile game) and Season 2 Episode 7 (in the anime), Chika loses her memories thanks to a spirit she accidentally released.
  • Assist Character: Her Union Burst "Sylvan Blessing" lets her summon a fairy spirit to fight alongside an ally in addition to healing her allies in front of her. Given how fragile it is though, it's best used to take a particularly damaging attack in place of your tank.
  • The Bard: Of the entire playable cast, she's the most classic, if magical type who goes around protecting people from monsters by summoning fairy-like Nature Spirits with her songs. She only saw her singing skills as a way to protect people until she joined Carmina, during which she came to enjoy singing for other people and its own sake.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Multiple characters point out that Chika has an amazing voice. She sings to summon spirits, but is not confident about being an Idol Singer.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: She's comes to develop feelings for Yuuki, yet can't confess them as most girls do even at their highest bond levels. In Christmas Chika's 4th bond episode, she invites him to a Christmas concert, full of couples, as a roundabout Love Confession to our hero who does not appear to pick up on it even then.
  • Outside-the-Box Tactic: Christmas Chika is infamous for enabling several very unusual strategies in Clan Battle involving Union Burst looping, due to her ability to summon three Assist Character fairies every time she activates her Union Burst. Being damaged fills up a character's TP bar. Killing an enemy unit fills up a character's TP bar by a lot. Once the TP bar is completely filled up, a character can then Union Burst. This applies to both the player and the boss. Several optimal strategies against certain bosses in Clan Battle therefore involve Christmas Chika summoning her fairies and letting the boss kill them, which fills up the boss's TP bar, allowing them to Union Burst, dealing massive damage to Christmas Chika and the rest of the team, filling up their TP bars. The rest of the team can then deal massive damage to the boss with their Union Bursts while Christmas Chika summons her fairies again for the boss to unceremoniously murder, continuing the loop. This leads to both sides dealing massive amounts of damage to each other in a very short amount of time, though the player's team usually has enough healing to sustain themselves through all the damage.
  • Performance Anxiety: Chika is too shy and scared in singing in front of a large crowd of people, hence why she practices alone. She only really opens up to her one-man audience of Yuuki in her bond episodes, then becoming more comfortable in front of larger audiences as an idol.

A songstress and seamstress who makes all of Carmina's costumes and runs Rei's secret all-girl fanclub.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While the game made her out to be a full-on Tsundere, the anime opted to instead expand on her more bubbly side, leading to her being much kinder towards Yuuki.
  • Cleavage Window: As befitting an attractive and attractively dressed idol, she has a heart shaped cleavage window.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: The game shows that she really likes Rei, which lead to her initial hostility towards Yuuki. She eventually mellows out of it into being a Tsundere towards Yuuki in a more romantic light.
  • It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time: Chapter 86 of the in-game 4koma has Tsumugi use her thread-making powers to act as Rei's fishing rod after Rei rejects her idea for using a net to fish. It seems like a good idea until she needs to reel in a whopper and nearly breaks her back in the process.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: In "That World", she loudly declares that she isn't Yuuki's girlfriend when someone mistakes her and Yuuki being a couple.
  • Tsundere: In the game; she starts out disliking Yuuki for being a potential rival for Rei's affections. Over time though, she develops feelings for him, with the "Halloween Ghost Festival" event showing her getting visibly jealous that Yuuki is focusing on Rei than he is to her.

Little Lyrical

"Little Lyrical Parade!"note

An unofficial guild made by three friends whose goal is to have fun.

  • Fighter, Mage, Thief: Mimi is the fighter, dealing generous amounts of physical punishment with her giant carrot sword; Kyouka is the mage, being the only one capable of casting magic; and Misogi is the thief, being skilled in subterfuge, deception and blowing her enemies up when they least expect it.
  • Kid Hero: All but one of them haven't even reached the double digits. It's for this reason that they're not a legally recognized guild.

The leader of Little Lyrical.
  • All-Loving Hero: She's a really cheerful girl who loves everyone. This extends to some monsters with her riding a mini-griphon in her 3 star and 6 star art.
  • Animal Motifs: Rabbits; she wears a rabbit-eared beenie and wields a sword shaped like a big carrot.
  • Cool Big Sis: What she aspires to be. Prides herself on being the "big sister" of her young guild, and muses on one occasion that she wishes she could grow up faster so she could become Yuuki's big sister too.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Is the proud wielder of a sword... that's a giant carrot. Due to the weapon's hilariously incredible effectiveness in the Arenas for a period of time, players have begun treating it like an Infinity +1 Sword.
  • Older Than They Look: She's already rather young at 10 years old, but she's short and petite even for her age. Despite being the oldest girl in her guild, she is also the shortest, which makes her attempts at being a Cool Big Sis even funnier.

  • Bratty Half-Pint: The most mischievous and troublesome one of the bunch with a love for traps and trickery. Anytime there's a grin on her face, she is usually up to no good.
  • Cartoon Bomb: Her weapon of choice, leading to her Union Burst being rather explosive in nature. Also find their way into her more lethal traps.
  • Crocodile Tears: After catching Kuroe in one of her traps, she's frightened to tears at how angry Kuroe becomes, causing Kuroe to calm down and apologize for scaring her... which Misogi promptly takes advantage of to play another prank on her, revealing that she was faking it the whole time.

Race: Elvenfolk
Birthday: Feb 2 (Aquarius)
Height: 118 cm (3.9 ft)
Weight: 21 kg (46.3 lbs)
Blood Type: A
Hobbies: Studying

An young overachieving elf girl.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: The anime forgoes both her Tsundere personality and "suspicious perverted stranger!" catchphrase, preferring to instead focus on the Adorably Precocious Child aspects of her personality. Rather than being suspicious and rude towards Yuuki at first glance, she immediately warms up to him and is the one to thank him for everything he's done for Little Lyrical at the end of their spotlight episode.
  • Adorably Precocious Child: Tries very hard to act like an adult, leading to her serious, no-nonsense personality.
  • Character Catchphrase: Calls Yuuki a "perverted stranger" way more often than necessary.
  • Critical Hit Class: a variant. Her Unique Equipment and 6 Star upgrade makes it so that her Skill 1 and Union Burst does quadruple damage instead of the double when it lands a Critical Hit.
  • Gameplay Story Segregation: Is still a novice in magic according to the story, but her incredibly hard-hitting Glass Cannon magic attacks in gameplay would make you think otherwise.
  • Glass Cannon: Her ability to obliterate a single enemy with her water magic is insane, but she won't last long if there's an enemy capable of hitting back lane.
  • An Ice Person: Her "Ice Lance" skill involves her firing three ice shards at the enemy.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Her name "Kyouka" (鏡華) means "mirror flower", which fits with her Tsundere behavior towards the protagonist and Sugar-and-Ice Personality to her companions.
    • Her surname "Hikawa" (氷川) means "ice river", fitting of her use of ice and water magic.
  • Only Sane Man: With Mimi's overall innocence and Misogi's mischievous nature, Kyouka always end up being the voice of reason in group.
  • Potty Emergency: The end of Halloween Kyoka's second character episode, "the perils of drinking" has Yuuki helping her rush to the bathroom after she has too much to drink. She barely makes it in time.
  • Precocious Crush: Already nursing a huge crush on the protagonist at the tender age of 8 years old.
  • Tsundere: Her confusion about her feelings towards Yuuki lead to her being rather prickly towards him at times.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Due to their vastly opposite personalities, she and Misogi always end up butting heads. That doesn't stop them from being friends.

The Guild Master of Forestier. Her overflowing motherly aura can calm down anything, whether it's a thug or even a monster.
  • Cleavage Window: Her default outfit features an opening in the chest area, showing off the cleavage of her bountiful bosom.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Animals and even monsters adore her, and will docilely approach her when they would otherwise be hostile to anyone else. When she and Io are together, their collective charm is so strong, they can walk through monster-infested areas and instantly tame anything that catches sight of them.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: In the event Steamy Year-End Story, an Anti-Beast tries to corrupt Misato—but her Nice Girl qualities are such that there's no darkness for the monster to incite. As if to add insult to injury, the kindly elf even encourages it to try whatever it's doing again, and still it doesn't work, making it run away in fright.
  • Light 'em Up: When she tries to calm down fighting players, their surroundings become enveloped in lights.
  • Mistaken Age: Her gentle and mature demeanor often leads to people assuming that she is older than her actual age of 21. Io in particular is surprised and slightly embarrassed that she is older than Misato despite being the less mature one of the two.
  • Motherly Side Plait: Her long, braided hair is often draped over her shoulder to give this impression.
  • Not What It Looks Like: When her students catch her hugging Yuukinote , they claim that the two are all "lovey-dovey." A thoroughly embarrassed Misato then tries to clear up the misunderstanding.
  • Parental Substitute: Finding Yuuki without his memories inspires her to become his surrogate mother. By the time of her Six Star event, however, she's starting to wonder if her feelings towards him are changing.
  • Save Our Students: In the Misato Summer Yell event, Misato is invited to teach at a run-down school filled with thugs and delinquents. She ends up reforming their baseball team and inspiring them to become better people with her motherly coaching, with the help of Yuuki and numerous other girls he invites to the school to discipline the slackers into shape.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Despite her gentle personality, she has a powerful side and can send a monster that the protagonist tried to protect her from flying by tackling it.
  • Team Mom: Extremely motherly, she cares for Yuuki and her younger guild members like they were her own children.
  • White Magician Girl: Befitting her personality, she is proficient in healing magic.

Hobbies: Practicing Making Friends

A very shy Elven poisoner-archer who has trouble making friends. Nonetheless, she has the determination to try and overcome that trial.
  • Creepy Loner Girl: Is introduced talking to a wooden doll as her only friend, freaking Yuuki out considerably.
  • Expy: Is very similar to Yunyun. Both are extremely shy with limited social skills, who seek friendship from people who already consider them their friends.
  • Her Own Worst Enemy: Is surrounded by very nice people who would be perfectly willing to be her friend, or in fact already consider themselves her friend, but her crippling lack of self-worth prevents her from thinking that she could possibly be worthy of their friendship.
  • Gratuitous Rap: Comes up with a rather silly rap song with lyrics asking to be your friend as one of her strategies to befriend people.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Desperately seeking friendship of any kind, but her social anxiety and inferiority complex prevent her from taking the first step.
  • Imaginary Friend: Spends a considerable amount of time talking to "Don't Worry My Friend #1", a wooden log with a face carved onto it.
    • Plus, in the final episode of Season 1, she was seen carving what appeared to be an additional "friend". Then in Season 2, we learn that Aoi actually built a group of full-sized mannequins to combat her loneliness after arriving at the city.
  • Master Poisoner: Her main role in gameplay. Her mastery of plants lets her use them to poison foes, which is especially useful in the Arenas against enemy tanks who are otherwise resistant against regular attacks.
  • Neck Snap: In the anime she snaps the neck of Karyl upon discovering her imagniary friends. And it is implied she did the same to the others as well.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: In the anime, coupled with Don't You Remember Me? When Yuuki sees "Don't Worry My Friend #1" resting on a shelf, he turns to leave. Aoi screams, jumps out from behind the counter and seizes his shoulder.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's extremely shy and insecure, and has trouble making friends.
  • Talking to Themself: Aoi and her "friends".

Hobbies: Playing with her little sister, Sleeping in, Naps, Going to bed early

A cheerful Elven girl with the ability to go 'beyond imagination', who at the same time is quite a sleepyhead. Shiori’s older sister and an esper in That World.
  • Big Sister Instinct: She'll dive head first into danger to rescue her sister.
  • Cycle of Hurting: Her 6* form is designed to inflict an extended period of stun to physical units, to the point of stunlocking them to death given the right support. This can be a source of frustration for many newbies who encounter Hatsune in the Arenas, not knowing how to deal with her.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Her summer variant's Union Burst has her unleash a powerful attack that hits all enemies at the cost of forcing her into a sleep state that can only be cancelled if she is hit.
  • Genki Girl: Incredibly energetic and upbeat, whenever she isn't sleeping.
  • Pom-Pom Girl: During the Misato Summer Yell event, she helps Misato straighten out the delinquents that Misato has been put in charge of into a respectable baseball team, by donning an extremely fanservicey swimsuit cheerleading outfit and swinging pom-poms around to motivate them.
  • Psychic Powers: Somehow has these in addition to her magical abilities. She can combine them to frightening effect and seems to be one of the few characters in the cast who can naturally fly due to them. But what is truly unusual is that she somehow has these psychic powers in That World as well, and as a result is constantly looking over her shoulder out of a fear that unsavory organizations will want to capture her to study them.
  • Sleepy Head: Dozes off frequently, and any usage of her powers will knock her out right afterwards. Her hobbies, besides “Playing with her Younger Sister“, are all related to the act of sleeping.
Going to Bed After Waking Up • Napping • Going to Bed Early
  • Sibling Team: With Shiori whenever they're together. They even have a special Pri-Fes variant where they are together as one unit.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: The exact opposite of her quiet younger sister Shiori.

Diabolos

    In General
A guild formed by Ilya named for the army led by her ages ago.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: In their third guild episode, because her full powers are dependent on Yuuki being around, Ilya thinks about tying him to herself through marriage. Every girl there immediately objects to this plan since they'd like to be his one bride too (well, Miyako wants more pudding).
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: The only things they have in common are being young girls who'd easily fit into Halloween and having a wish they want granted by Ilya, except she can't do that in her kid form and so demands them to serve her until she regains her powers to accomplish it. Otherwise, they're no better than Weissflugel as a guild with their varied personalities and antics, at best humoring their guildmaster's plans for world domination.

Blood Type: A
Hobbies: World conquest

A legendary Vampire who once tried to conquer the world.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Due to how she's usually stuck in her child-like Sleep-Mode Size, people tend to forget that she's still a legendary vampire. During her Heroic Second Wind, she actually managed to hold up against Mana, even for just a little bit.
  • Broken Pedestal: Purported to be a legendary vampire of unfathomable power, the rest of Diabolos sought her out in hopes that she could grant them their wishes. Instead, what they found was a powerless Bratty Half-Pint who is a shadow of her former self.
  • Glass Cannon: Already one of the more fragile characters in the game, she holds the dubious honor of being one of the few that can also kill herself with an unlucky Self-Damaging Attack Backfire. To make up for it, though, she has consistently maintained a position as one of the strongest magic AoE attackers in the game, even as progressively stronger characters have been released over its lifespan.
  • Harmless Villain: Attempted to conquer the world in the distant past, and still plots world domination to this day, but her present lack of power makes her ambitions rather laughable.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: Still claims to be a legendary, centuries-old vampire in That World, but has displayed absolutely no vampire-like traits beyond an aversion to the sun, so the possibility remains that she is simply a regular child with an overactive imagination.
  • Power of Friendship: Aside from Yuuki's Princess Knight powers, her desire to protect her subordinates is the only force capable of returning her to her former strength for a period of time.
  • She Is the King: The members of Diabolos are surprised to discover that Ilya is in fact a woman, assuming that she was a man due to her title of Demon King.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: In the history of Astraea, she played the role of a stereotypical Maou the Demon King who lead her legions of monster minions and the demonfolk on a campaign of world domination before being beaten back and sealed away by the allied forces of the other races. Eons later, a bunch of bored teenage demon girls grew curious about the legend of the Demon King and sought her out, and the rest is history.
  • Sleep-Mode Size: After being sealed away for centuries, she lost most of her power as a vampire and becomes a small child whenever she leaves her coffin.
  • Spam Attack: Due to how taking large damage can fill up your TP gauge fast and both of Ilya's skills damaging her with each use, she can fill up and spam her Union Burst and heal up the damage ad nauseum. Some players even exploit this by using her as a tank to maximize her damage output.
  • Statuesque Stunner: In her adult form, Ilya is the tallest member of the playable cast, towering over Yuuki.

Tropes that apply to Shinobu:

  • BFS: Wields a giant sword almost as big as herself.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Episode 1 of Eriko's Character Story as a fortune teller.
  • Dating What Daddy Hates: Shinobu is deeply in love with Yuuki but her father flat-out hates him, both out of concern for his daughter and jealous of his Chick Magnet tendencies.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Her preferred wardrobe, she is often decked out in frilly, dark costumes with the occasional Victorian headdress.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Her father is named the "Skullfather", who is a talking skull that is her father.
  • I See Dead People: Is able to see ghosts who are invisible.
  • Straight Man: The deadpan, straight-laced Foil to her boisterous, colorful father.

Hobbies: All games

The timid older twin of Akari.
  • Black Mage: Contrast to her younger sister who focuses on support, Yori focuses more on offense and dealing as much damage to the enemy as possible.
  • Cast From Hitpoints: Her first skill and it's upgraded form, Overcharge/Overcharge+, takes a portion of her HP to boost her Magic Attack and charge her TP gauge.
  • Gamer Chick: Her hobby is "all games". She owns a gaming console, talks about the latest game, buys the newest strategy guide, and has portable gaming devices for friends in case they are bored.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Yori and Akari's gameplay compliments each other with Akari boosting Yori's damage as well as debuffing the enemies' defenses for maximum damage output. This goes into their relationship as Akari is always pushing her sister to be more outgoing and will always have her back.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: A color-inverted example: she is the calm, shy one of the demonfolk twins but prefers wearing pink. Also doubles as a case of Polar Opposite Twins.
  • Shrinking Violet: Much more than Kurumi, as she struggles with starting up a proper conversation with a passerby and attempts to muster up the courage saying a proper "thank you" to Yuuki only to stutter with the word and quickly change the subject.

The younger twin sister of Yori.
  • Double Entendre: Can fit several of these every time she opens her mouth.
  • Life Drain: Her Union Burst boosts the party's HP drain allowing them to heal off a majority of their health back in one attack.
  • Sexophone: Notably averted. Though Akari absolutely relishes making as many dirty puns as possible about "sax play", and can be often seen carrying one around, the only time she ever actually plays the instrument is in a serious context.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Color-inverted. Wears a mainly blue ensemble, and is very cheerful, outgoing, and incredibly perverted compared to her twin sister.
  • White Mage: Compared to her older sister, Akari focuses more on supporting her teammates by debuffing the enemy and buffing her allies' magic attack.

Weight: 32 kg (70.6 lbs)
Blood Type: B
Hobbies: Eating pudding

A ghost who loves pudding
  • Cute Ghost Girl: A ghost and a very cute one at that.
  • Friendly Ghost: Debatably so. She certainly isn't a tortured, baleful existence, but at the same time, she is rather self-interested and will ruin other people's day if that's what it takes to get her pudding. Nevertheless, she insists that she's not a bad ghost.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: She's not above transforming other people into pudding and eating them alive if that's what it takes to sate her craving for it, as poor Yuuki can attest to.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: While she acts quite rude and obnoxious to others over her demands of pudding to the point of possessing them and turning them into pudding, she still cares for her friends like Shinobu and would leave people alone if she is given what she wanted.
  • Stone Wall: In gameplay, she takes advantage of the fact that she can go incorporeal to become a very obnoxious tank with skills that make her completely invincible against physical attacks for generous periods of time. On the other hand, her defense against magic attacks is paper-thin and her invincibility is useless against them.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pudding.
    • Actually gets exploited by Misora in Arc II. During her jump rope game, Miyako just casually floats in the air avoiding the rope while also not jumping. Misora throws her a pudding causing Miyako to fly up to catch it. Cue Miyako getting smacked and eliminated out of the game.
  • Verbal Tic: Ends every sentence with "~nano".

The captain of Nightmare who is rarely seen out of her armor.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: The captain of NIGHTMARE, she is highly respected by her subordinates for her strength, and constantly challenged to fights by Christina as a Worthy Opponent.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Incredibly competent and professional at her job, but carries a number of personal quirks, chief among them being her absolute refusal to take off her armor under any circumstances, especially her helmet. If her face is exposed at all, she immediately becomes cripplingly bashful and shy, something Yuuki ends up weaponizing when fighting her.
  • Chainmail Bikini: Dons a metal bikini in her summer variant.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: Ironically enough, despite the color of her armor, she is viewed as a shining ideal of knighthood among NIGHTMARE, uncompromising in her commitment to peace and the well-being of Landsol's citizens.
  • Multilayer Façade: Underneath her helmet is another mask that covers her eyes.
  • My Country, Right or Wrong: Even as Mana's wrongdoings become increasingly obvious, Jun remains reluctant to act openly against her, due to her loyalty to the kingdom of Landsol and its throne.
  • Odd Friendship: Despite her righteous personality, she gets along surprisingly well with the selfish Christina, to the point of calling her by her Affectionate Nickname "Chris-chan" even while on-duty.
  • Stone Wall: Has high Defenses but low attacks. In addition, her second skill allows her to heal either herself or an ally in the frontlines and her Union Burst allows her to absorb both physical and magical attacks giving her a lot of survivability for long-term battles.
  • Toku: In That World, she is an actor behind the incredibly popular Tora Tiger, a masked superhero popular with children. Even off the job, she continues to wear a Tora Tiger mask due to her complex about exposing her face.

Race: Humanfolk
Birthday: Feb 7 (Aquarius)
Height: 165 cm (5.4 ft)
Weight: ?? kg (?? lbs)
Blood Type: O
Hobbies: Fighting strong opponents

A loud and boisterous woman with a knack for conflict. The current vice-captain of NIGHTMARE and a member of the Seven Crowns.
  • Always Accurate Attack: Numbers Avalon's second ability. All attacks that Christina throws out will hit the enemy onces it's activated. In the anime adaptation, it's shown to be able to split her Sword Beams in half to hit two targets simultanously.
  • Critical Hit Class: An extreme example. Her Union Burst is a guaranteed hit and will always be a Critical Hit. Her Unique Equipment makes it so that her First Skill also applies a Critical Damage buff ensuring that it will hurt.
  • Eagleland: The sole American of the cast, and a rather boorish Jerkass Blood Knight who loves throwing her wealth and influence around to get what she wants.
  • Funbag Airbag: Almost. See the following.
  • The Gadfly: Absolutely loves getting a rise out of people.
  • Geas: Her title, "Regina Geas", isn't for nothing — she's able to place these upon people, including herself. Her Bond Stories reveal that she imposed a geas onto herself to deter numerous suitors, which is that whoever touches her chest gets to marry her. No one was able to succeed... until Yuuki did in one duel on accident.
  • Hidden Depths: Is surprisingly intelligent and observative underneath her rough, impulsive personality, on top of being Carmina's producer.
  • Intangibility: When using her Union Burst, Numbers Avalon, it gives this effect for a few seconds afterwards. In-story, Numbers Avalon calculates the best course of actions for Christina to fight, including frame-perfect dodges and counters no matter the difficulty or what trickery is employed, so the moment someone tries to attack her, Christina effortlessly dodges them before retaliating.
  • It Amused Me: Usually the primary justification for anything she does.
  • Jerkass: A boorish and haughty Blood Knight that derives pleasure from battle and war to the point of causing trouble to other guilds and people unfortunate enough to cross her path.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Wears an outfit consisting of a Battle Ballgown, Combat Stilettos, and the Ermine Cape Effect, which doesn't stop her in the slightest from mopping the floor with many of the characters.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Between her Navel-Deep Neckline, long blonde hair, large bosom, and Battle Ballgown, she's a big source of eyecandy.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Does not take kindly to Mana attempting to kill her.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her neckline goes right down to her navel.
  • Ominous Visual Glitch: Digitized squares appear whenever she uses Numbers Avalon.
  • Pretend Prejudice: Despite being the vice-captain of a police force known for discriminating against Beasts and launching an unprovoked assault on a Beast guild herself for the explicit purpose of starting a race war, Christina doesn't actually hold a beef against Beast people. No, she just likes provoking racial tensions because war is fun and she's bored out of her mind.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: Blonde, big-breasted, and boisterous. Fittingly, she's the sole American of the cast.
  • Recurring Boss: By far the character with the most fight scenes, dueling both Twinkle Wish and Caon several times, as well as Forestier in the anime adaptation.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After Mana's attempt on her life, Christina returns to the royal palace and cuts a bloody swathe through her former subordinates in an attempt to reach the throne room and take Mana's head. Unfortunately for her, she is ultimately unsuccessful and imprisoned, but the enormous blow she deals to NIGHTMARE's forces sets the stage for the protagonists' second assault on the palace.
  • Shoulders of Doom: One of the few pieces of armor she wears are the massive pauldrons that sit atop her shoulders.
  • Spotting the Thread: She's smart enough to realize that something is wrong with the world (like how a Human-dominant kingdom like Landsol has a Beast on the throne), but is too disinterested in Pulling the Thread herself, instead dropping hints to other people since she finds that more amusing.
  • Super-Reflexes: Besides giving a boost to her strength, her Numbers Avalon ability is essentially a computer built into her body that takes in her surroundings and calculates the best course of action in a fight, letting her perform automatic Just Frame Bonuses no matter the situation. However, this ability calculates everything down to raindrops and dust particles, so it can be overwhelmed and disabled by throwing the environment into constant chaos.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Though the organization as a whole can be morally dubious, Nightmare's named, playable members are all Knights In Shining Armor committed to defending the peace of Landsol. Except for Christina. She just took the vice captain job because she gets to beat people up. Made all the more ironic by the fact that she is the only member to pull a Heel–Face Turn and ally herself with Yuuki and his friends when they come into conflict against Nightmare.
  • Token Super: Compared to the other members of Nightmare who are relative Badass Normals whose strength comes from skill and training, Christina's Numbers Avalon (her Inherent Ability from being one of the Seven Crowns) gives her a rather hefty edge.

A talented young swordswoman of NIGHTMARE. Though she appears and acts mature, she is actually thirteen years old.
  • Arranged Marriage: Tomo’s bond stories reveal that not only did she go on dates with Yuuki in real life, but that her grandfather had officially declared him her fiancé after a test of his housekeeping skills.
  • Closet Geek: As it turns out, she is absolutely obsessed with magical girls, being able to recite magical girl trivia on the same level as Shiori.
  • Cool Big Sis: Mentors her younger co-worker Matsuri, who greatly admires her and refers to her as "Tomo-nee". Though, despite looking far older than Matsuri, she's actually only one year her senior.
  • The Gadfly: Likes to tease those older than her, particularly Yuuki.
  • Gathering Steam: Tomo's Union Burst does middling damage at the start but with each use it gets stronger due to raising Tomo's Attack by a large amount. With the proper support and helped by the fact that her kit is designed to spam it as much as possible, Tomo's damage can skyrocket to insane heights.
  • Heir to the Dojo: A rather stereotypical example, her sword skills are due to being the young heir to her family's sword dojo.
  • Impossibly Cool Weapon: Her sword makes somewhat strange transformation in her magical girl form, still being a sword with a sharp edge, but forming a large jewel at its tip she can fire a Sword Beam from, making it completely useless as a stabbing weapon. Of course, since it's literal magic, any impracticalities can be mostly excused.
  • In Love with the Mark: NIGHTMARE ordered Tomo to spy on Yuuki to find out any information about him. But Tomo started to like the young boy and became deeply regretful for what she's doing.
  • Magical Girl: Ends up joining Kasumi and Shiori's magical girl squad together with Monika in the second magical girl event, becoming "Shiny Tomo".
  • Master Swordswoman: One of the most skilled swordfighters in the story, trained in the Mikuma school of swordsmanship by her grandfather.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Tends to be her default reaction to being complimented by Christina on anything, as she cannot stand Christina's Jerkass nature.
  • Younger Than They Look: The 16 year old Kaya mistakes her to be the same age, despite Tomo being only 13 years old. Her somewhat deep voice and mature, responsible personality don't help matters.

A beastfolk—who insists that she's human—member of NIGHTMARE who aspires to be a hero.
  • Ascended Fangirl: Though she is only an apprentice within NIGHTMARE, Matsuri is nonetheless ecstatic that she is able to work under her idol Jun. When she meets former vice-captain Saren, she can't help but Squee as well.
  • For Halloween, I Am Going as Myself: Played with. Tsumugi designs a white tiger Halloween costume for her, thinking it would be best simply to dress her up as a more monstrous, ghostly version of herself. Matsuri, on the other hand, insists that she's just a regular ol' human dressing up as a white tiger and definitely isn't a tiger Beast or anything of the sort.
  • Heroic Wannabe: Obsessed with the idea of becoming a hero, which is what motivates her to join NIGHTMARE.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Wears a hat at all times to hide her ears and pass as a human due to NIGHTMARE's anti-Beast inclinations. The thing is, her hat is clearly shaped like two cat ears regardless, and ends up fooling almost nobody. During the Halloween event, she wholeheartedly believes that she has Tsumugi fooled, despite wearing a costume tailored specifically for her by Tsumugi, never stopping to wonder why Tsumugi would design her hat to have space for her cat ears to fit in, or why her skirt just so happens to have a hole for her tail to poke out through.
  • Race Traitor: Caught in an incredibly uncomfortable position as NIGHTMARE becomes increasingly racist against her Beast brethren.

Saren heavily disapproves of wasting money needlessly, and will fiercely haggle on everything from everyday necessities to huge business transactions, but she also enjoys living an upper-class lifestyle, so long as that upper-class lifestyle is maintained with the lowest price possible. The girl does like her fancy tea parties and useless personal maid after all.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Her relationship with Akino goes through quite a few zig-zags between adaptations, particularly concerning who the more Tsundere one of the two is.
    • In the original Princess Connect, Akino's haughty attitude prevents her from being honest with her feelings towards Saren. Despite being thankful towards her at times, and wanting to become closer friends, her pride ultimately prevents her from admitting such feelings towards her childhood friend.
    • Conversely, in Re:Dive, Akino is completely open with her desire to be friendly with Saren, while Saren pushes her away due to being exasperated by her Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense attitude. Privately though, Saren cherishes Akino as a friend almost as much as Yuuki and Suzume.
    • The anime adaptation flips their relationship on its head yet again. During the beach episode, Saren simply wants to be friendly with Akino, while Akino is too prideful to express her feelings directly and uses a competition between their seaside restaurants as a pretense to get closer to her.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Yuuki was her only friend as a young child, who protected her from bullies in the schoolyard. As a result, she becomes rather attached to him upon their reunion.
  • Bedlah Babe: In the "Romancing Salasaria" event, Saren wears an outfit that is common in the Arabian-styled country, Sarasaria. In the Real World, she also wore this in preparation for an international exchange event and showed it first to Yuuki.
  • Childhood Friends:
    • Vaguely remembers her childhood friend that protected her from bullies as a child due to her elven heritage. Try as she might, she can't recall his face, or his name, causing her to doubt whether he really existed at all. However, upon meeting the amnesiac Yuuki, she becomes convinced that he must be that childhood friend and waits for the day that his memories return. Of course, in That World, he actually does turn out to be her childhood friend. This becomes notable when it turns out that she's the only girl who had her memories modified that still retains any vague semblance of her memories of Yuuki, with every other girl forgetting him entirely or only remembering him due to escaping the mass brainwashing that befell everyone else.
    • Also shares a long, complicated history with Akino, whom she has known almost as long as she has known Yuuki.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Rather unsurprisingly, she falls madly in love with Yuuki after reuniting with him, much like every other one of his childhood friends.
  • Improbable Age: Former beloved vice captain of the palace knights, an incredibly successful businesswoman and director of the Sarendia orphanage where all the children view her like a real mother. A reminder that she's currently seventeen years old.
  • Mama Bear: Won't hesitate to spring into action to defend the children of her orphanage and becomes rather furious when the actions of the kingdom of Landsol in the main story begin endangering their lives.
  • Non-Idle Rich: Despite, or perhaps because her family's wealth, she wholeheartedly throws herself into the role of a merchant to sharpen her business acumen. After becoming the director of the Sarendia orphanage, she runs herself ragged taking care of the children while continuing to earn money through side businesses to support the orphanage.
  • Ojou: A more down to earth example than most, but still the wealthy, well-mannered student council president of the prestigious Sakuraba High School. Though frugal at times, Saren isn't averse to living a lavish, upper-class lifestyle either.
  • Rags to Riches: Was once a commoner before her father's business success made her family incredibly wealthy.
  • Rich Kid Turned Social Activist: Left her wealthy background and prestigious position as vice captain of NIGHTMARE behind so she could open an orphanage to take in abandoned children instead.
  • Perfectly Arranged Marriage: Played with. Saren's father announces her engagement to Yuuki out of the blue, much to her surprise, in order to stop other nobles from harassing him for his daughter's hand in marriage. After chasing off one such noble, Saren insists on dropping the pretense, but her father nonetheless makes it clear that he's willing to entrust her to Yuuki, while she continues to struggle with her obviously romantic feelings for him.
  • Self-Made Woman: Less of one than she would like to be. Saren is eminently aware of the privileges that being her father's daughter afford her, and while she tries not to rely on his reputation and finances to give herself an advantage in business, she does not go to extreme lengths to separate herself from them either. Yes, she now runs her own businesses without his assistance, and refuses to ask for direct handouts from him to fund her orphanage, but at the same time, she realizes that many people are only willing to deal with her in the first place due to her father's connections.
  • Simple, yet Opulent: In contrast to Akino, who is considerably more ostentatious in both her attire and displays of outrageous wealth, Saren prefers to take this approach with her personal belongings. Somewhat ironic, considering that the former is Old Money while the latter hails from a Nouveau Riche family.
  • She Is All Grown Up: In That World, Yuuki is rather shocked that the bullied crybaby Saren he knew as a child ended up becoming the beautiful and popular Student Council President of her school.
  • Team Mom: Almost literally. Two of the four playable Sarendia characters are girls from her orphanage and call her "Mama Saren". Yuni also sometimes sneaks into the orphanage and passes herself off as a kid to be doted on.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: As a child, she was left without lunch one day since her chocolate cornet fell to the ground after some bullies shoved her around. Yuuki offered to trade his yakisoba bread in exchange for her cornet and as a result yakisoba bread became her favorite food from that day forward.
  • Workaholic: As the Sarendia Orphanage is kept afloat entirely by the proceeds from her various businesses, Saren works herself to the bone to keep the money flowing. Even in That World, where she has no such burdens, she can often be seen doing various odds and ends to make money despite having no need to do so, simply to sharpen her skills as a businesswoman.

Hobbies: Serving others

Saren’s awfully useless but kind and loyal maid.
  • Bumbling Sidekick: To the hyper-competent Saren. She is utterly useless, screwing up any basic task given to her with her extreme clumsiness. Though, all abuse heaped on her is always self-inflicted, Saren and the children of the orphanage love her to bits despite her flaws.
  • Dojikko: Causes massive collateral damage with her every move, to such an extreme, comedic degree that she can turn a fortune box into an explosive simply by holding it.
  • The Heart: The one thing she is good at. Saren keeps her around despite her inability to perform any task properly due to being such a kind, supportive friend who gives Saren the moral support that she needs to do her best.
  • Honorary True Companion: Journeys with Yuuki and Kokkoro for a time during the main story, and becomes close with them after the two of them take up permanent residence in Sarendia Orphanage. She also tends to get associated with the Gourmet Guild in event stories, going to the beach with them along with the rest of Sarendia in Dangerous Vacance and joining up with them in Landsol Guild Race to form a four-person team. Ultimately though, she is still a member of Sarendia Orphanage, rather than Gourmet Guild.
  • Joke Character: One of the most useless characters in the game, her skills revolve around her clumsiness and are governed by extreme dice rolls that even in the best of cases are still inferior to other characters. To drive this home, she was one of the first characters to receive two alternate playable versions alongside the members of the Gourmet Guild Hall, yet those two alternate versions are also mediocre at best.
  • Meido: Saren's faithful, albeit useless maid, both in Landsol and That World.
  • Miko: Dons a shrine maiden outfit in her New Year version.

Blood Type: B
Hobbies: Indoor activities

A child at Saren’s orphanage who is presumably good at ventriloquism. Puukichi is the name of her weapon.
  • Cast from Hit Points: Her Holiday version's Union Burst deals high damage but also hurts her along with the enemy.
  • Fiery Redhead: Inverted. Despite having the typical red hair in That World, she is a Shrinking Violet.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Wears her hair in two tails with black ribbons.
  • Imaginary Friend: Subverted in the case of Puukichi, her stuffed bear that she also uses as a bludgeon. It can actually speak and has a will of its own (with it even winding up possessing Chika when a spirit switched around other people's souls in the anime). Played straight in That World where Puukichi is just a normal stuffed bear and his voice comes from Ayane's ventriloquism.
  • Older Than They Look: Is two years older than Kurumi, but treated like a child of the same age by everyone around her.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her parents suddenly began to ignore her existence entirely one day out of the blue, no matter what she tried to do to catch their attention, eventually leading to her being taken in by the Sarendia orphanage. In That World, though nothing so extreme happened, her parents are still somewhat neglectful of her, leading to her developing a Shrinking Violet personality.
  • Punched Across the Room: Her Union Burst knocks the nearest enemy to the back while also stunning them with its upgraded version smacks all of the enemies in range. This mostly used in the Arena so that Squishy Wizards at the back are left vulnerable for her and her team.
  • Something Only They Would Say: In the anime, she is able to realize that Puukichi's soul has wound up inside Chika's body by the way a feral Chika saved her after a soul-switching spirit hiding in Puukichi's body causes havoc at the Cockatrice-tei.
  • Troubled Child: Extremely traumatized by what happened between her and her parents, though she tries not to show it.

  • Improbable Weapon User: Her go-to weapon is a giant bell. One she uses like a club.
  • Ms. Imagination: Being part of the drama club in That World and having an overactive imagination can lead her to imagining up some rather outrageous scenarios, usually involving her and Yuuki respectively as a wife and her cheating husband.
  • Shrinking Violet: Extremely shy and easily startled.

Race: Beastfolk
Birthday: Sep 22 (Virgo)
Height: 155 cm (5.1 ft)
Weight: 42 kg (92.6 lbs)
Blood Type: O
Hobbies: Daydreaming, collecting plushies

The leader of Caon.
  • Accent Adaptation: Speaks in a Kyoto accent, explained as her hailing from a distant nation outside of Landsol. In That World, however, she really is just from Kyoto. Unsurprisingly, the English localization renders this as her speaking in a vaguely Southern accent.
  • Actor Allusion: Maho possessing eighth-grader syndrome is a nod to her voice actress's previous role.
  • The Cameo: She is mentioned and shown on a picture in the last episode of Chieru's sports variant, being another student attending the same school as her.
  • Chuunibyou: Her whimsical nature fits the symptoms.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: One of her hobbies include collecting plushies. She also have a massive collection of them in the Caon headquarters.
  • Hidden Depths: During the negotiations with NIGHTMARE following Christina's unsanctioned attack on Caon, she shows an incredible amount of shrewdness and negotiation skills, showing just why the Beastfolk of Landosol have gathered around her as a leader, despite her usual whimsical and flighty nature.
  • Lady and Knight: As befitting her fairy tale themes, Maho and Yuuki often act have this dynamic whenever they are together.
  • Princess Classic: From her frilly dress, to her background as a princess to a distant kingdom, and to seeing Yuuki as her Prince Charming, she invokes this trope as a full believer of classic fairy tale romances. Things are the same for her in That World, only that without Royal Blood, she comes off as a Chuunibyou.
  • Red String of Fate: Firmly believes that Yuuki is her "destined prince" and that the two of them were fated to meet.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Compounding her belief that she and Yuuki are lovers tied together by fate is the fact that her favorite novel is an obvious reference to Romeo and Juliet. Both her and Yuuki end up quoting the book when they affirm just how much they mean to each other.

Hobbies: Making sweets

The guild's hot-blooded fighter who is more than willing to protect her comrades.
  • Blood Knight: Makoto's more than happy to jump headlong into a fight. Thankfully, she stops this whenever innocent civilians are involved in the conflict.
  • The Matchmaker: After learning about Yui's crush on Yuuki, Makoto tries to get them to become a couple. However, she did not expect she'd fall for her friend's crush as well.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Makoto and Yui respectively, which is something the former often points out whenever she gets confronted with girly things. However, she's not all that boyish as she thinks herself to be given all the situations where things like Yuuki getting up close to her or seeing cute dolls and such fluster her easily.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Her attitude doesn't display the classic feminine charms, at least at first. Her stories reveal that she works in a restaurant, developing cooking skills on par with Yui and having a fondness for cute things.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Becomes this for being part of Octo's force that attack the wagon belonging to NIGHTMARE. She's even more upset that she unknowingly got Yuuki caught in the crossfire.
  • The Worf Effect: Unfortunately suffers from this during the main plot, being outmatched by Shizuru in their fight and completely dominated by Christina subsequently to show off how strong the two other swordswomen are.

An airhead girl from the tropics.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: She is Caon's hand-to-hand combatant, utilizing various martial arts moves.
  • Dance Battler: Incorporates some of her dance moves into her Ryukyuken fighting style. Summer Kaori's Union Burst, Ryukyuken Around Shoot, is more or less her breakdancing her enemies to death.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Somehow fails to understand why Going Commando and then accidentally planting her posterior on Yuuki's face would make him embarrassed.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Despite looking a little ditzy, she has some pragmatism to abandon a battle when the outcome is obviously a loss for her and her teammates.
  • Stealth Pun: Her Ryukyuken fighting style is named after the ryukyuken, a dog breed originating from Okinawa, except the "ken" also means "fist", like in "hadoken".
  • Sultry Belly Dancer: She wears a rather Stripperiffic Okinawan-flavored exotic dancer outfit.

Birthday: Nov 3 (Scorpio)
Height: 152 cm (5 ft)
Weight: 41 kg (90.4 lbs)
Blood Type: AB
Hobbies: Reading, reasoning

The guild's detective.
  • Antiquated Linguistics: Models her manner of speech off of the protagonists of classical detective novels. As a result, she speaks in a somewhat antiquated, masculine manner. In the English localization, this is rendered as her speaking in a classy, sophisticated manner reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes. Averted in "That World," where she's mostly seen speaking in the standard keigo you'd expect to hear from someone talking with their upperclassman.
  • Beneath the Mask: Even though Kasumi appears as a confident detective, she stated that she has an inferiority complex, which means she will lose her confidence when she feels inferior to someone.
  • Great Detective: She literally refers to herself as "great detective Kasumi". She idolizes the main characters of the detective novels she grew up reading and bases her outward persona off of their mannerisms. Then again, her analytical skills are the genuine article and she gains recognition as a real great detective as the story goes on.
  • Lady Not-Appearing-in-This-Game: Kasumi is featured in the anime’s Season 1 opening despite not showing up in the anime itself. She does appear in Season 2 at least.
  • Magical Girl: Eventually gains the ability to transform into Magical Detective Misty★Kasumi, but is none too happy about the embarrassing transformation phrase and frilly outfit she's forced to wear in her magical girl form. She more or less grows to like it though, with her 1koma showing she likes doing the pose in secret (while Shiori and Mora watch in secret).
  • Mysterious Past: Kasumi used the term "A stray dog in a dark alley" to describe her life in prior to joining the Guild "Caon". However, her past was never revealed. But it is implied that Kasumi was once a guildless wanderer before joining Caon considering the aforementioned fact and the fact her ears were cropped.
  • Pointy Ears: Kasumi's ears are Doberman ears.
  • Squishy Wizard: By far the least physically capable member of Caon, even compared to Maho. This is slightly rectified in her magical girl form, where she can be seen fighting with her fists occasionally.
  • Verbal Tic: Kasumi ends most of her sentences with "~Tamae".

Guild Master of Elizabeth Park, one of the few humans accepted by the general populace of the beastfolk.
  • Farmer's Daughter: She is one in That World, dresses in the typical attire and takes part in milking in one CG. However, compared to some other examples, hers is much, much more innocent.
  • Older Than They Look: Does not look 20 years old. At all.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: She purposely tries to invoke this trope, dreaming of being a stand-up comedian here and That World, belting out puns and lame jokes every so often, and wants Yuuki and herself to be a comedy duo. To her chagrin, her attempts crash and burn into a mix of So Unfunny, It's Funny and Don't Explain the Joke usually because she uses farming terms.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Due to spending her whole life near animals, Mahiru is able to understand animal speech, and is the only person to be able to understand what Lima is saying in Tsubakigaoka.
  • Token Human: One of the few humans trusted by the Beast people and guild master of a guild otherwise comprised entirely of beast-girls (and a llama).

Hobbies: Reading, taking walks

A calm and reserved archer and younger sister of Hatsune of the Forestier guild. She is also a member of Caon, though not officially listed as such due to the reassignment to Elizabeth Park.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Her sister Hatsune calls her "Shiorin".
  • Aloof Archer: She has a calm and frosty personality in battle to pair with her deadly archery, and that's despite having a weak body.
  • Big Sister Worship: She loves and admires her older sister very much, often praising her whenever she has the chance.
  • The Cameo: Appears in her sister Hatsune's 3rd episode.
  • Casual Kink: When Yuuki brings up the notion of transforming into a magical girl himself, Shiori is very taken with the idea and enthusiastically voices her approval whenever he brings it up again, which somewhat squicks out Kasumi.
When asking Mora "Can I transform too?" in Episode 1 of We Are Misty & Purely
Misty★Kasumi: [bewildered] My dear assistant! What are you saying!? I-I can't believe you're into this...
Purely★Shiori: [in a serious tone] Well, I think it's good to be true to yourself...!
    Misty★Kasumi: Shiori!?
  • Either/Or Offspring: Born beastfolk to an elven mother and a beastfolk father, while her older sister was born an elf. As a result, she was ostracized from her mother and sister's Hidden Elf Village.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: In gameplay, her skills make her stronger as the battle goes on, which clashes hilariously with her image as a frail girl with little stamina.
  • Gathering Steam: As mentioned above, Shiori gets stronger the longer the fight lasts. Her Union Burst boosts her attack with each use with both her skills filling up her TP Gauge. Once she uses it enough times, she's going to be dishing out big damage.
  • Genre Savvy:
    • As an avid reader of books, one of them being about magical girls, this trope comes into play for the event The Magical Girl Duo: We Are Misty & Purely where she perfectly predicts the meeting of the mysterious mascot—Mora—coming out of nowhere and offers them magical powers, followed by a monster pushing them into doing so. She continues to lampshade every trope throughout the event since then.
    • One of her Intimacy topics in We Are Misty & Purely is about having more magical girl allies as time goes on. Yuuki didn't get to be one, but two more do come in a later event: Tomo and Monika.
  • Handicapped Badass: Deadly with a bow despite her weak body.
  • Magical Girl: Her Magical Hunter Purely★Shiori form. It also comes with a Disability-Negating Superpower, empowering her once-sickly body with incredible magical strength that leads to her acting more giddy than usual.
  • Shrinking Violet: Though not as much as Aoi, she's still quite reserved. She notably subverts this as Purely★Shiori, enthusiastically talking about magical girl tropes and acting them out with less reserve compared to the embarrassed Misty★Kasumi.
  • Sibling Team: With Hatsune in their Pri-Fes variant.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Quiet, reserved, and frail compared to her bright, cheerful, and superhuman older sister Hatsune.

A... very unique member of Elizabeth Park, being an actual llama instead of just a beastgirl like some other characters.
  • Humanity Ensues: Neneka gifts her with an apple that temporarily transforms her into a humanoid Beastfolk.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Ameth approvingly reacts to the idea of Lima and Yuuki's incompatible romance as a bonafide animal and a human coming together this way. Lima likewise sees the problem, but this doesn't deter her from trying.

The heiress of the merchant company House Wisteria.

  • Badass Boast: "I am Akino Wisteria, the greatest merchant who makes the impossible possible!"
  • Beware the Silly Ones: After she and Yuuki were kidnapped, Akino was willing to negotiate with the kidnappers if money was what they wanted. However when the leader hurt Yuuki, this sets off Akino to attack them.
  • Easy Come, Easy Go: Though she has her family's massive fortune to fall back on, Mercurius Foundation, and by extension Akino's own personal finances are a wild roller coaster ride, as the guild constantly makes incredible profits from their crazy business ideas only to see them go up in literal flames. See their massive taiyaki-shaped taiyaki factory, which ultimately exploded. Or the Nakayoshi X, a giant robot built in collaboration with the Nakayoshibu, which also saw its short-lived existence end explosively.
  • Fiery Redhead: Her red hair goes well with her extremely spirited, outgoing personality.
  • Interclass Friendship: Her employees run the gamut from part time worker to literal thief, but that doesn't stop her from having good relationships with them.
  • Interclass Romance: Naturally, this trope applies to her crush on Yuuki of very humble origins.
  • Ojou: The ojou of the game, her character is comedic stereotype of all ojou tropes taken up to eleven. Other wealthy characters appear practically penniless in the face of her nigh-infinite wealth and nearly every one of her entrances is accompanied by her loud Noblewoman's Laugh.
  • Jack of All Stats: Akino is a completely different unit at 6-star, as she becomes really tanky while dealing high amounts of damage with her UB (For reference, the only other unit that can boast being tanky and dealing a high amount of damage at the same time would be Pecorine (Princess)). In addition to that, she has a self Attack buff and defense absorb barrier, all of which works really well with her already flexible kit. To top it all off, she also sets a field that constantly damages all enemies within it.
  • Master of None: Pre-6 star, she is considered one of the worst characters in the game. She can tank, but not very well, and deal damage, but at a mediocre level, and heal her allies, albeit for very small numbers. Additionally, the most unique skill in her arsenal is her counter skill, which is considered more or less useless by most players due to its small window of activation that rarely lines up with enemy attacks.
  • MegaCorp: In That World, she is the sole daughter of the Toudou family, which owns the Toudou Zaibatsu, a dizzyingly huge Japanese conglomerate.
  • No Sense of Direction: She rivals Zoro in how laughably poor her sense of direction is.
    • While on her way to her father's study, she gets lost and winds up in a distant valley outside of Landsol itself, which is where the two of you meet. And after arriving in sight of the city, she will assure you she can find her way back home before immediately heading the way you two had just come from.
    • She gets you both lost in a forest for an entire day when the goal was to simply walk in a straight line from the entrance to a large tree and back. And the "forest" in question was just a park that only takes fifteen minutes to get through from end-to-end.
  • Only One Name: Inverted. Akino is one of the few characters living in Landsol to have a last name, indicative of her status as a Blue Blood aristocrat of the Wisteria family. It also happens to be a direct translation of the first character in her last name from That World, Toudou (藤堂).
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: An incredibly privileged upbringing has left her with an astonishing lack of common sense.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Despite being a bit naive and headstrong at times, she has an incredibly sweet personality and genuinely wants the best for her friends, even if her ideas on how to help them out aren't always the best.

  • The Alcoholic: Can rarely be seen without a mug of frothy beer. Her unique equipment, in fact, is a particularly blinged out beer mug.
  • Broken Pedestal: Slightly, Yuuki first thought she was a Yamato Nadeshiko when he first saw in the original, and was really shocked upon finding out what an alcoholic mess she usually is, but still respect her despite her drinking problem. Misaki initially pegs Yukari as her ideal role model of what an adult lady ought to be like, but even after Yukari has one too many drinks and reveals her sloppy side, Misaki still thinks she's a splendid adult, just a different kind from what she aims to be.
  • Boyfriend Bluff: Calls Yuuki over to attempt to drive off a particularly persistent Casanova Wannabe with this ploy. He isn't convinced however, until Yukari runs off and downs a few drinks to make the act more convincing, whereupon she starts rather aggressively coming onto Yuuki.
  • Frothy Mugs of Water: The writers make a half-hearted, cheeky attempt to disguise what she is drinking by never referring to it as beer, but rather "barley broth".
  • Functional Addict: A key aspect of her character. Whenever she isn't drunk off her rocker at the pub, Yukari is an admirable, hard-working adult who usually doesn't let her alcoholism get in the way of her work. Her personal life, on the other hand...
  • Mistaken Age: When she brings Yuuki and Misaki to a bar with her, a drinking buddy of hers assumes that the two of them are her children... despite Yukari only being 22, a mere 5 years older than Yuuki.
  • Office Lady: A textbook example of one in That World. Overworked by her boss? Unwanted passes from her coworkers? Horrible work-life balance? Drowning her sorrows in alcohol? She hits every checkbox.
  • The Paladin: Though she sports the appearance and skillset of one, she falls woefully short of the ideal as far as personal vices go.
  • Workaholic: What she becomes if denied of alcohol.
  • Yamato Nadeshiko: Described word for word as one by Yuuki on their first meeting. Too bad that impression doesn't last long.

  • The Ace: Has worked an astonishing variety of part-time jobs and gained an diverse skillset from them, resulting in her being good at just about everything.
  • Dragon Knight: Her design is evocative of this trope. She also gains a reputation for being The Dragon Slayer, which may or may not be true depending on whether you bring her along to kill the boss of the third EX dungeon, Wrath Dragon. This reputation and title is why Chloe is awed by her.
  • Miser Advisor: Has shades of this, as she is prone to charging an hourly fee for any services she provides to her acquaintances, and tends to get on people's cases for being "inefficient" with their money. As such, Akino's outrageous spending habits provide no end of headaches for her.
  • Only Sane Woman: Between Akino's lack of sense, Yukari's alcoholism, and Tamaki's general Cloudcuckoolander tendencies, Mifuyu is often the only one with her head screwed on right in Mercurius Foundation.
  • The Perfectionist: Obsesses over "efficiency" to the point that it ironically hinders her attempts to perform everything in the most efficient manner, usually because she wastes too much time worrying over approaching every task in the most optimal manner.
  • Renaissance Woman: Played for Laughs. Her resume of past "part-time jobs" is patently absurd for a 20-year-old college student, and includes things like guerilla warfare in conflict zones, rescue operations at an offshore oil field, and coffee shop employee.

  • Appropriated Appellation: Tamaki denies knowing anything about the true identity of the mysterious Classy Cat-Burglar nicknamed "the Phantom Cat" by the citizens of Landsol, though she's heard that she's awfurry cute. Nevertheless, she shouts "this is the power of the Phantom Cat!" whenever she uses her 6* Union Burst.
  • Nekomata: Unlike every other cat-like Beast in the game, Tamaki sports two tails and Japanese-inspired attire, making her more of a nekomata Beast.
  • Cat Girl: a Beast of the cat variety, who is also a Classy Cat-Burglar and a Crazy Cat Lady. The girl is pretty much every cat trope stuffed into one character.
  • Classy Cat-Burglar: A literal cat burglar at that, but her attempts at being classy more often come off as gaudy.
  • Crazy Cat Lady: Not only is she a Cat Girl, she also takes care of an excessive number of cats.
  • Cool Big Sis: A surprising number of characters view her as one, despite not acting the part at all, chiefly Hiyori.
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Stole from the rich and gave to the poor before joining Mercurius Foundation.
  • Mage Killer: Her skillset allows her to directly target the Squishy Mage with the highest magical attack hiding behind the frontline tanks and deal super effective damage to them. Exclusively a gameplay mechanic, as nothing suggests she has a particular beef or advantage against mages in the story.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Taiyaki. She can't live without it. As a result of her influence, many of Mercurius Foundation's harebrained business ventures involve them in some fashion.
  • Verbal Tic: Appends "nya" to the end of every sentence, as befitting of a cat girl. It's something she does even in That World, indicating that it's a consciously performed character quirk rather than a result of her Beast biology. The English script opts to fill her dialogue to the brim with cat puns instead.

The Guild Master of Twilight Caravan. Wishes for a normal life and does have one in That World (on the surface), but somehow leads one of the most infamous guild consists of troublemakers. Likes to go fishing.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Nearly every low-life in town has a deep-seated respect for her that borders on worship, something that she finds more troublesome than not, both in This and That World. Slightly averted in that none of them would dare hit on her in any sort of fashion, both due to their respect for her and their fear of pissing off every other thug around.
  • Almighty Janitor: In That World, she insists that she is nothing more than a humble fish stall owner, but that doesn't stop her from having a ludicrous amount of influence in the underworld. Averted in Landsol, where she would like to do nothing more than spend her days fishing but somehow ended up becoming the guild master of one of the most infamous guilds around.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: The guild master of Twilight Caravan, her sword skills makes her stand out even in her guild of violence-prone mavericks.
  • Bedlah Babe: Ruka wears one in the "Romancing Sarasaria" event.
  • Cool Big Sis: Referred to as "anego" by her male admirers and "Ruka-nee" by her younger guildmates, all of them unanimously agree that she is definitely very cool.
  • Dual Wielding: Employs an unusual sword style where she wields one katana in each hand.
  • Got Volunteered: How Ruka ended being Twilight Caravan's Guild Master. The other members basically agreed that she was the most capable of being a leader.
  • Master Swordswoman: The master swordswoman, she is feared and respected both in Landsol and That World for her skill with the blade.
  • One-Woman Army: Though many of the characters can lay claim to this trope, Ruka deserves special mention for being a Badass Normal who can fight a whole gang of thugs and come out unscathed even in That World.
  • Only Sane Woman: The level-headed guild master who is the only one up to the job of keeping her band of troublemakers in line.

A demon girl with an obsession borders on yandere, thinking of Yuuki as her ‘fated person’.
  • Axe-Crazy: Drags around a battleaxe as tall as she is and has a penchant for extreme violence.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Alongside Makoto, she becomes a hired instructor to get a fancy medal as an anniversary gift for Yuuki in Cry Fury Bootcamp: Demonic Instructor, a Whip and... Candy?
  • The Dreaded: Almost everyone is afraid of Eriko the Destroyer. Even Yuuki is a tad bit hesitant to be around her at times.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: Her sadistic personality rears its head when she becomes instructor for some knights in Cry Fury Bootcamp. After being told to be kind to the recruits, an action that massively runs counter to her domineering ways and backfires when the recruits don't take her seriously as a result, her first order to them when she drops the façade is to say "I'm a trashy insect."
  • Dude Magnet: In the anime, countless men try running up to her and asking her out. The result: Meeting face first with her axe.
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: In That World, she lacks her glowing pupils, and instead sports these at all times to signify her unstable state of mind.
  • Dogged Nice Girl: Surprisingly, in That World, she is a genuinely kind person without any of her usual Axe-Crazy qualities, exemplified by her being a Friend to All Children. However, she is still a full-on Stalker with a Crush who will go to extreme lengths to show her love for Yuuki.
  • Friend to All Children: Despite her obsessive, Ax-Crazy personality we are used to, in That World, she has a kind and almost motherly side shown almost exclusively to children.
  • Glass Cannon: Quite possibly the most extreme example of this trope in the game, her defenses and HP are absolutely awful but her base attack stat was the highest in the game before the advent of 6* rarity units, making her one of the most damaging attackers for a very long period of time.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Her eyes constantly emit a red glow that contribute further to her unsettling presence.
  • Mad Scientist: Shares this trait with Mitsuki, albeit with an even greater emphasis on the "mad" part and almost zero "science". Her potions almost never have their intended effect. In gameplay, she can poison enemies with them, but this aspect of her skills is usually overlooked in favor of her brute strength instead.
  • Red Baron: Nicknamed "The Destroyer", hardened criminals are reduced to quivering wrecks at the mere sound of it.
  • Signature Laugh: "Kusu Kusu Kusu..." Roughly equivalent to "Tee hee hee", as spoken words rather than a normal laugh.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: While every girl are basically her love-rivals, Shizuru is the one Eriko hates the most.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Tends to repeat this over and over whenever she catches Yuuki with another girl.
  • Yandere: Very, very deeply in love with Yuuki and rather pushy in showing it. She also doesn't take kindly to any love rivals or mean people around him.

A skilled, but mad and sadistic human doctor.
  • BFS: That big-ass sword of her is nearly as tall as her.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite her flagrant disregard for experimental safety she is still a very skilled doctor.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While Mitsuki has no problems using Yuuki as a guinea pig, putting his life in serious danger is the one thing she won't cross.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Wears a black one. No one can live to tell the tale upon seeing what is hidden behind it, as the rumor said.
  • Mad Doctor: Absolutely loves mixing up dangerous new drugs and testing them on unwilling subjects and even terrifies the patients she's genuinely trying to cure with no ulterior motives.
  • Old Maid: Her eight character episode taking place in That World has her receive a call from an old friend who says she's getting married, leaving Mitsuki self-conscious of her single status and looking at wedding magazines. When she confides to Yuuki about it, she then tells him if she turns forty without getting married, "[she]'ll be asking [him] to take the fall for it."
  • Red Baron: Known and feared as the One-Eyed Devil, it is rumored that none have seen what lies beneath her eyepatch and lived to tell the tale. Somewhat of an Ironic Nickname as she is one of the two humans in a guild full of demonfolk.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Not only does she wear an Eyepatch of Power, her eyes are red.
  • Victoria's Secret Compartment: Holds a load of deadly flower petals in her cleavage in the anime.

  • Author Avatar: Or rather, the daughter of one. Her father is a thinly disguised reference to series producer Yuito Kimura, who also produced Cygames's earlier work Rage of Bahamut, that appears in-universe as "Shinmetsu no Bahamutia".
  • Domino Mask: Wears a golden one.
  • Forgotten Childhood Friend: As it turns out, she and Yuuki were actually buddies when they were kids.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: The rest of the guild generally agrees that her fashion sense is... unique.

A big Chuunibyou girl who belongs to the demonfolk race.
  • Atrocious Alias: Prefers to refer to herself as "Hecate of the Hurricane", a name that everyone else refuses to use.
  • Chuunibyou: Wears an eyepatch for style points, speaks in Antiquated Linguistics, refers to herself with an Atrocious Alias, she has it all.
  • Endearingly Dorky: Her chuunibyou antics are incredibly embarrassing, but endear her to both Yuuki and the players.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While Anna is more than happy to have anyone joining in her fantasies but after hearing that they commited crimes during their escapades, she is appaled, especially if these people are inspired by her.
  • Glass Cannon: Her kit is ostensibly designed for this function, as she has a Union Burst that sets her defense to zero and a skill that incapacitates her after reaching 10% HP or lower in return for dealing massive damage. Players tend to entirely ignore this part of her kit in favor of using her as a pure debuffer.
  • Reincarnation Romance: Believes that she and Yuuki are reincarnated lovers reunited by fate.
  • Taking You with Me: Her Second Skill functions as this. Once she's down to 10% of her health, she'll perform a Suicide Attack that deals Damage to all enemies. It's somewhat ineffective against mobs and bosses who have high health but it has a niche in Arena where it's a last ditch damage to punch a hole on the opponent's team.

A new teacher who takes it upon herself to tutor Suzuna and Misaki.
  • Charm Person:
    • As a succubus, she's capable of magically charming people and monsters, though she doesn't seem to be fully conscious of this power.
    • In gameplay, a part of her skillset focuses on taking advantage of the charm mechanic and punishing charmed enemies. Her Union Burst charms all enemies with its upgraded form reducing TP gauge as well slapping a TP gain debuff. Her upgraded skill one punishes any enemy charmed with a massive drain on their TP gauge.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: She suffers from this in-game. She struggles a lot in majority of the PvE content since her skills are exclusively tailored to Charm and drain TP. Common enemies don't really have a Union Burst to be stalled and charm is mostly a Useless Useful Spell in PvE. In the Arena however, she's capable of turning the battle to its head as Charm and TP Gauge reduction is lethal in Arena battles. If she's put in the right team, her enemies will take each other out without even getting a chance to fight back.
  • The Ditz: She can be a bit of an airhead.
  • Foil: To fellow kindhearted schoolteacher Misato, such that they get a Tower of Luna story together, Teachers' Guidance: both are mature women who teach kids, though Io teaches students in grade school while Misato is a kindergarten teacher; both can charm living beings, but Io's charm is in part due to succubus powers and general innocence while Misato has a natural charm that calms even wild beasts; Io is more of a teenager who gets along with her students in comparison to Misato's motherly calm suited for younger children.
  • Hot Teacher: She is a beautiful teacher whose default outfit shows off her plentiful cleavage. She's also this at "That World" even in more modest clothing when she teaches at Yuuki's school.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: She doesn't mind getting close to Yuuki who can't help but get nervous when seeing his teacher's cleavage.
  • Mana Drain: The other part of her skill set is designed on stopping enemies from using their Union Burst. Her Skill 2 is a hefty drain on the enemy with the highest TP gauge on the field while her upgraded Skill 1 drains enemy TP when they're charmed. Finally her upgraded Union Burst drains TP as well as reducing the enemy TP gain rate.
  • Sensei-chan: Acts rather youthful for a teacher.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Despite the age gap and the teacher-student relationship, she and Yuuki gradually grow close to each over her bond stories, enough that in her six-star story, they act like a married couple teasing each other while holding a cooking class. As for Io herself, she is secretly pleased when Yuuki gets mistaken for her boyfriend at one point.

A student who also works as a model.
  • Brainless Beauty: She was clearly attractive in-universe enough to get a job as a fashion model, but she's also dumb enough to make Yuuki look smart by comparison. This is downplayed in regards to her job though where her attitude turns professional for those times.
  • Critical Hit Class: Her Union Burst, Heart Break, always deals Critical Damage. Her first skill, Gossip Darts, also deals a guaranteed crit and it's upgraded version, Gossip Darts+ triples the critical damage dealt. The six-star version of her Union Burst, Haute Couture Heart, doubles down on this playstyle by dealing triple damage and giving Suzuna a Crit Damage Buff with each use.
  • Dumb, but Diligent: She's not very bright but she's certainly a hard worker and very determined. She wouldn't have been so successful as a fashion model otherwise.
  • Famed In-Story: Popular enough to make girls shriek at the sight of her, both in Landosol and That World.
  • He Is Not My Boyfriend: In her fourth bond episode set in That World, she gets teased by fellow models thinking she and Yuuki are an item. Her flustered denials unfortunately causes the cameramen to do another shoot, cutting into her hangout time for Yuuki.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Her hair is a peach color that matches with the pink hearts and bowshots she makes in combat gameplay.
  • Supreme Chef: She's actually a competent chef; in her seventh bond episode as part of a mock date, she had a lunchbox which had food that Yuuki can rate as "It's devilishly delicioso!" or "I've never had anything that tasty in my life."

  • Affectionate Nickname: Sees Yuuki as the "shogun" she's meant to serve, so she's always calling him Shogun.
  • Everyone Has Standards: What gets her to completely break character is when she tries to wear nothing but an apron but stops because she's just too embarassed doing it.
  • Funny Background Event: She appears in the background of Ruka's 3-star splash art, cheering for this samurai-like woman straight out of her beloved Japanese stories. The very last line of Ruka's seventh story episode reveals she actually was there as "a certain ninja" who witnessed her battle.
  • Highly-Visible Ninja: Her job is to be a ninja. However, instead of following the historical depictions of ninjas, she opts to adopt those from anime, hence why she constantly introduces herself in overdramatic fashions and wearing flashy gear that does not contribute to stealth whatsoever. Doesn't stop from her from being effective in battle.
  • Spam Attack: Her skills are tailored to use her Union Burst as much as possible. She gains TP Gauge when she defeats an enemy with her Unique Equipment completely filling it up. This it then taken to the extreme with her 6 star upgrade where her TP Gauge gets a huge refill whenever she takes down an enemy on top of boosting her Physical Attack. Once she gets her Union Burst going, its hard to stop her.

  • Mage Killer: Not in terms of DPS, but her skillset and tanking abilities can complement her already high magic defense and her Union Burst gives her a magic defense boost, healing and the effect to be healed by magic attacks until it reached a damage threshold. Combined with units like Tamaki, who can hit mages hard and Yukari, who can heal her and nullifise magic damages for a while, Kuka can easily be a main tank against Magic Heavy foes in PVE and PVP as well.
  • Slave Collar: As befitting a masochist like her, she always wears a gold slave collar with chains attached. Said chains lead to her handcuff-like bracelets.
  • Too Kinky to Torture: Oh boy, she's really into this. She gets off on Yuuki burning all her dirty doujinshi in the anime, and in game, during Weiss Flugel's first guild episode, she throws herself in front of the enemies so they can abuse her for her pleasure.

  • Ascended Extra: Ayumi started out as a Recurring Extra who would appear in various cutscenes and CGs as "mob" character. During the game's original run, she was the last playable character released before the game's termination. In Re:Dive, she once again serves as "mob filler", even showing up as early as Chapter 1 of the main story, before being made playable once more after being a main character in the Great Detective event, though she still serves her original "mob character" role. Hilariously, they justify her always being around in the background by making her a Stalker with a Crush towards Yuuki.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Ayumi is cowardly and clumsy fighter, and this is reflected in her skillset. Her skills are themed around her desperately trying muster the guts to actually attack her enemies and her attack animations involve her swinging her spear haphazardly around her while her eyes squeezed shut from fright. However, while her skills may not deal much damage, they inflict plenty of annoying debuffs on the enemy, like blind, confusion, stun. This actually makes her a valuable character on defense teams in arena, where the goal isn't necessarily to kill the enemy, but to merely survive until the timer runs out. Ayumi essentially creates so much chaos on the battlefield the enemy is unable to mount an effective attack.
  • Flashy Protagonists, Bland Extras: Has a relatively plain design, especially in That World, compared to the other heroines. This is due to being designed as a joke "mob character" who is meant to blend in with the other non-playable minor characters, also doubling as an explanation for why she is so good at stalking people, being able to easily blend into a crowd.
  • Innocently Insensitive: How she accidentally scares Eriko in their shared Tower of Luna story; the Destroyer had not detected her even once until Ayumi came out of nowhere to save her from falling off a floor. Eriko then notices Ayumi's notebook, which contains everything she and Yuuki have been doing so far—the perfect blackmail material that Eriko assumes Ayumi would use... which the observer herself never thought to. Since then, any action Ayumi makes is interpreted as a veiled threat by Eriko (like Ayumi trying to smile at her only for Eriko to see it as a one hiding malice), all while Ayumi is happily oblivious to Eriko's thoughts.
  • Stalker with a Crush: She's completely in love with Yuuki but is just too shy to face him which is why she follows him from a distance.
