Junior Crow Cillers

A group of students at Puke City West School who, after narrowly escaping a kidnapping by the Order of the Crow, form a team to investigate and expose them, and also mostly just hang out and stuff.

     Emma Lee
We aren't just fighting to live. We're fighting because they shouldn't kill us. And we won't let them.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/emma_4.png
Initially, the group's de facto leader, her nerdy enthusiasm for adventure has been dampened by trauma and depression, which she works out through art.

  • Break the Cutie: At the start of the series she's a Snooping Little Kid eager to jump into adventure, but these experiences take a major toll on her.
  • Breakout Character: Was a supporting character in Lamezine and Microwave Planet but takes center stage here.
  • Broken Bird: She... goes through a lot. In Season 9, she joins the Crow.
  • Enemy Mine: Of sorts in Season 9, which sees her allying with Marcus/The Crow, as they all have a vested interest in finding someone who can control Ynce Iche.
  • Hikikomori: Post-time skip
  • Jumped at the Call: By far the eagerest to begin uncovering information about The Crow and Ynce Iche, much to the chagrin of the adults around her.
  • In Harm's Way: Unable to let go of what happened to her in her childhood, she eventually ends up seeking out Ynce Iche to destroy it once and for all.
  • Other Me Annoys Me: She meets a similar version of herself from an alternate universe and quickly learns how exhausting it is to try to keep track of her. Later played for drama.
Every version of me I've ever seen fucking sucks.
  • Out of Focus: Though initially presented as the main character, she's absent outside of a few scenes throughout Season 3.
  • She's Back: Though she briefly overcomes her funk to save Jamie in season 2, she doesn't become fully willing to go on adventures again until late in season 4.
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: After the time skip she's always seen in a disheveled ahegao hoodie, which reflects the general state of her life at that point.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Toyed with. Her affinity for adventure serves her well at points but much of her character arc is her being forced to reconcile her conceptions of what the story she's in should be with the reality of what it is.
     That Kid
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tk.png
Lovable and sweet, but far too trusting for her or anyone else's good. An avid collector of "My Enormous Horses" and one of the original members of the Junior Crow Cillers.
     Cortney Corvidae
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cortney.png
Daughter of ex-principal and respected Crow "Miss Corvidae," Courtney is fiercely loyal and determined. A founding member of the Crow Cillers club, her family's affiliation with The Order of the Crow haunts her.
  • Arc Symbol: A snowy field, which functions as a stand-in for her mother.
  • Berserk Button: According to her character bio:
do not insult Britney Spears around her.
  • Character Development: Starts the comic as an angry, combative bully but learns to channel her anger and is a lot calmer/friendlier in later seasons
  • "Freaky Friday" Flip: Undergoes one with a version of herself from an alternate universe, : which is never resolved. She doesn't seem to care since their bodies are "basically the same."
  • Happily Adopted: Three4One (with varying degrees of reluctance) adopt her
  • Matricide: While she doesn't kill her mother, she does jump at the opportunity to kill a monstrous construct of her in Ynce Iche
  • Meaningful Name: "Corvidae" is the taxonomy that crows belong to.
  • Mellow Fellow: Once she works through some of her issues she becomes incredibly zen.
  • No One Gets Left Behind: Charges into Ynce Iche as the tunnels close because she refuses to leave That Kid there
  • Reformed Bully
  • Relationship Upgrade: With Paisley.
     Doris E. Clark
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/doris.png

A multi-talented girl with confidence issues who joins the Junior Crow Cillers early on. She starts off very shy but her relationship with her girlfriend Gretchen gradually opens her up.

     Gretchen
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gretchen_1.png

A girl who joins the Junior Crow Cillers after they become an anime club and becomes swept up in their drama. She can be blunt and insensitive but her heart is in the right place. Doris's girlfriend.

     Jamie Weathers
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jamie_03.png

A girl who meets Emma in art class and introduces her to the world of experimental film.

  • Eccentric Artist
  • Gag Censor: In a non-comedic example, mentions of her dead name are blurred out with a "Deadname Redacted" placed over them instead.
  • Hacker Collective: In Season 7 she's a member of Guillotine, a Crow Cillers splinter cell.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Her decision to print anti-Crow information in her Zine inadvertently leads to a lot of problems at the end of Season 2.
  • Origins Episode: "Film Crowcialisme" opens with an extended flashback her on a cruise ship with her family that's later revisited in "Episode 59"
  • Second-Act Breakup: Has a falling out with Emma as a result of her careless behavior during Seasons 4/5, and after the Time Skip she's long since moved on.
  • Stylistic Suck: While her good-natured love of art lifts up those around her, her personal projects tend toward the endearingly half-baked:
''ok like i wanna do a file called 'isrmuttdead.wav and its just like a .mp3 of whatever the time is and its like,
     Jill Vasquez
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jill_84.png

     Mint Chip

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mintchip.png

The final member of Three4One, Mintchip was previously employed by the Crow for unseemly ends and has great sympathy for those trapped in its machinations.

     Howdy Crittler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/howdycrittler.png

A doll owned by Pistachio that she converses with.

  • Ambiguous Situation: The doll is present from the very first page of the comic but its exact nature (what it is, why it talks) is never explained. It directly states that it's a stuffed animal and it remembers being in the store, but in Season 7 Embry claims it's a dangerous psyforme. This is never confirmed though.
  • Checkhov's Gunman: The Howdy Crittler dolls come in very handy at the end of Season 3 when they open tunnels to Ynce Iche... for some reason.
  • Companion Cube: To Pistachio
  • Living Toys: Maybe? It definitely talks, but just to Pistachio.
  • The Mole: Downplayed but Pistachio gives it to Courtney for a time to secretly watch over her.
  • Psychic Link: Seems to have one with Pistachio, who is the only one who hears it speak.

Crow Cillers Psy Squad

     Aria Preston

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ariapreston.png

The shy and anxious member of the Psy Squad who generally hangs back and crafts tools for the others.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Loses an arm in a mission gone wrong between Seasons 6/7
  • The Power of Creation: Her power "Materialize"
  • Retired Badass: In Season 7
  • Shrinking Violet: Does not want to talk to the hot store employees.
  • Parental Substitute: Of all the psychics she bonds the most with That Kid due to staying home with her the most. There's an "expanded universe" novel devoted to them hunting collectibles together and in Season 7 it's shown they still spend time together even after That Kid grows up.
  • Viewer Name Confusion: A meta example: For the entire episode "Use Your Confusion" the subtitles refer to her as "Colby," which is lampshaded in the next episode.
     Ambrosia Randolph

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ambrosiarandolph.png

A kind and empathetic member of the Psy Squad until her untimely demise, her spirit still resides in Embry's mind.

  • Posthumous Character: She's eaten by Harlyn sometime before the comic begins.
  • Reality Warper: She had the power of "Material Influence," which let her manipulate psychic and physical matter "like play-doh."

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psyelitegaige.png

Former henchmen of Lord Marrow, then of Harlyn, then of Ida, then of the Crow Ciller Cociety, before ending up as part of the Psy Squad.

  • Boy Meets Ghoul: Begins dating Ambrosia in the later seasons (not Embry)
  • Continuity Cameo: He (and Dire Rat's Grotto) makes a small appearance in Angel Chain, another series by the author. Notably since this series is not a World of Funny Animals he's presented as an Ambiguously Brown human.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Defects from the side of evil after learning he's being underpaid.
  • Mellow Fellow: He's pretty firey when introduced but in later seasons he becomes very levelheaded and is sometimes even the voice of reason.
  • Mercenary
  • Odd Friendship: "Gaige and Silent Mary" devotes an entire episode to his surprisingly cordial friendship with Mary.
  • The One Guy: The only male psychic we meet and the only male to be directly affiliated with the Crow Cillers
  • Psychic Powers
  • Punch-Clock Villain: As can be seen in his character description, he spends a lot of the comic bouncing around between whoever is paying him.
Hey, is she telling the truth about these things- cuz like- if they're worth that much then I'm getting ripped off by my boss right now. Hey, oh, are you guys hiring?
  • Rugged Scar: Has a small one over his eye, presumably related to his powers.

     Harlyn Grier

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harlyn.png

I know something about being queen. You can't just live on cupcakes and ice cream, you gotta eat the good stuff. Even if it doesn't taste good- someone's gotta grow up big and strong.

Former leader of the Psy Squad who becomes an enemy of the remaining members.

The Crow Ciller Cociety

A resistance group fighting The Order Of The Crow.

  • Comfort the Dying: She's the only one able to stick with Joslyn until the end.
  • Dressing as the Enemy: She puts on a Crow mask and sells cupcakes to members of the Crow.
  • Excessive Mourning: Season 9 begins with her still consumed with grief over Joslyn, despite a significant Time Skip after the events of Season 7
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: But since the series takes place in the modern-day characters often comment on how unusual it is that she wields a blade.
  • Hidden Depths: Apparently she's a better baker than Joslyn
  • The Mentor: Assumes this role to Courtney post-Season 6
  • The Mole: She's introduced as a bodyguard working for The Crow but is quickly revealed to be a double agent for the Cociety

     Joslyn
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/joslyncc.png
Elder leader-grandma of the CCC, helping to house and support those who have escaped the clutches of the Crow.
  • Big Good: She provides the funds that allow the other groups of Crow Cillers to survive.
  • Cool Old Lady

Death: you're fun. thank god. this walk sucks when people aren't fun.
  • Family of Choice: She says views the Crow Cillers as a family.
  • Killed Off for Real
  • Let Them Die Happy: As she's dying her tender reflections on the family she's built away from the Crow are intercut with scenes showing how this family has fallen apart, and Ondine doesn't have the heart to correct her.
  • The Lost Lenore: The Shiver Star toy her mother forced her to throw out as a child.
  • The Queenpin: She's the head of a very lucrative underground My Enormous Horse trading ring.
  • Team Mom: Very explicitly so to Ondine, but most of the people who know her seem to view her as a maternal figure.

     Brother Mary
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mary_73.png
Her debut appearance
Was temporarily paired up with Brother Marcus in investigating the disappearance of Miss Corvidae, as well as Marcus's secret investigations of Ynce Iche. She quit when she realized the extent he was willing to go for his research and wound up with the Cociety.

     Miss Lee

Emma's (somewhat distant) mom and the gym teacher at Puke City West School.

  • Ascended Extra: She was featured in two of the creator's previous comics (Smokes and FFFF) but becomes a parent to one of the main characters in this series.
    • In the series itself she's a fairly unimportant character in the first few seasons but gets more focus later on.
  • The Atoner: She hates her job at the school but (as of Season 8) sticks around because she feels obligated to bear witness to the Crow
  • Doesn't Know Their Own Child: She struggles to connect with Emma (who frequently views her as an annoyance) and remains oblivious of the danger she's in until it's too late.
  • La Résistance: Downplayed but she becomes an unofficial member of the Crow Cillers at the school.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Aria calls her "July" but the majority of the cast just refer to her as "Emma's Mom."
  • Pushover Parents: In Season 7 it's revealed that Emma is still unemployed and living at home, with Mrs. Lee only making token attempts to push her into moving.
  • Struggling Single Mother
  • Turning Into Your Parent / Parental Hypocrisy: Explicitly discussed in the Season 2 finale:
Emma's Mom: When I was your age my parents didn't know anything about me either... and I... said I didn't want to be like that... but... I guess I did it anyways.
    Emma: Oh... uh
    Emma: Sorry?

Other Crow Ciller Affiliates

     Vince
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vincecc.png

Reluctant Crow, born into a privileged position. Not looking to hurt anyone- he's just looking to get through this. Eventually escapes the Crow and winds up as a friend of the Cociety.

  • The Anti-Nihilist: Opens his own home unconditionally to people fleeing the Crow because he believes that everyone deserves another chance.
  • Breakout Mook Character: Originally just a named Crow footsoldier, he emerges from behind the mask in season three and gets his own story arc.
  • Bureaucratically Arranged Marriage: In a strange example, the other Crow members trapped in Ynce Iche expect him to marry Elayne. He's gay.
  • Cult Defector: A prominent aspect of his storyline; by Season 7 he's dedicated himself to helping others flee the Crow as well.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In his introduction, he's supposed to be guarding the Rope and Nail offices, but walks right by the Crow Cillers so he can go to the vending machine.
  • Follow in My Footsteps: His family is heavily involved in the Crow but he doesn't really buy into it.
  • Greasy Spoon: As of Season 8 he's working in one

  • Breakout Mook Character
  • Call to Agriculture: In Season 7 she's seen tending a garden to grow produce for her community home.

  • Hidden Depths: Continues to wear her Crow mask even after the others have discarded theirs, eventually revealing that although she doesn't believe in the Crow, she still feels like she is "owed" the mask.
  • Not Used to Freedom: She talks to a Crow runaway about experiencing this when she first escaped the Crow:
I know when the Crow has been your world... it's hard to believe that we could be doing this without wanting something. Or, I guess that's what we get out of this. What I get out of doing the gardening here or whatever... I don't want to live in that world again.
  • Out of Focus: Has a fairly prominent subplot in seasons three and four but fades into the background once she's free from Ynce Iche.

     Brecken

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/breckencc.png

A kindly friend who hangs out with some of the cast.

  • Connected All Along: He independently knows Sour Gummy, Jill, the Dire Rat's Grotto staff, and the Lamezine cast. Later he winds up working in a Crow Cillers safe house.
  • Establishing Character Moment: He's introduced giving a long creed about how to operate a claw machine, which is his primary passion. When Sour Gummy point out this has nothing to do with the question they asked him, he answers in an even more esoteric way.

Order of the Crow

A shady cult-like organization that antagonizes the main cast with the goal of controlling Ynce Iche.

     Brother Marcus

One day we all look into the eyes of the Crow and see there's nothing there. And I too was lost. And I too followed the only guiding light I had.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marcus_7.png

One of the main antagonists of the comic, Marcus is an agent of the Crow obsessed with finding the secrets of Ynce Iche by any means necessary.

  • Action Survivor: He possesses no special powers but outlasts most of the other antagonists in the series.
  • Career-Building Blunder: He murders Brother Andrews in a blind rage and lies about it, which results in him being made head of the investigation to find the killer, which he co-opts to begin researching Ynce Iche
  • Determinator: He's willing to do anything to uncover the secrets of Ynce Iche
  • Everybody Knew Already: It turns out Lord Marrow knew of his deception all along but let him carry on because he was more able to get his hands dirty
  • Geek: Has a nerdy interest in cartoons and at one point attempts to give Joslyn a lecture about a song that's playing
  • Manipulative Bastard: He's very good at using others to achieve his own ends.
  • Would Hurt a Child: A subtle part of his character arc is his relationship to this trope: during one of his first encounters with Ynce Iche he refuses to let it harm a child, but as his obsession grows he becomes willing to turn a blind eye to the Crow kidnapping children, ultimately culminating in him killing Jarod.
     Lord Marrow
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lordmarrow.png

Old fashioned Crow Elder. He's very certain of the superiority of the Crow, and the evil of those who would challenge it.

  • Cool Mask: All of the Crow wear masks, but his is particularly large.
  • Eaten Alive: By Lisa
  • Even Evil Has Standards: When assigned to clipboard duty he has no trouble belittling and bullying the people he's evaluating, but is furious at the thought of accepting a bribe because it would "dishonor the Crow."
  • The Fundamentalist: Unlike some of the other characters who use the Order for their own benefit, he genuinely believes in the Crow.
  • Mysterious Employer: Forms the original Psy Squad but keeps them in the dark about his true intentions.
     Mr. Nail

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mrnail.png

Head of massively successful "Rope & Nail Inc.," he developed ties with the Crow to further his business and becomes very entangled with them as the series goes on.

     Master Vein

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_05_15_192620.png

     Warden Cortex

A Crow elder who shows up in the latter part of the series.

  • Kick the Dog: Denies Joslyn life-saving surgery after she's already paid for it.
  • Meet the New Boss: Shows up at the end of Season 6 to fill the role Lord Marrow filled
  • Visionary Villain:
Cortex: We aren't... devoted to the Bloodwolfe. The Crow is here so that we can stand atop it. The Order of the Crow is a ladder... We stand on the ladder and we enjoy the sun. That is what the Order of the Crow worships. You feed the Bloodwolfe and you get to stand on the ladder. Everyone else is dog food.
  • Suicidal Overconfidence: Thinks so little of the Crow Cillers that he ignores the very large sword Ondine is holding.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Gets comparatively little development than the other antagonists, to the point where he doesn't even appear in the Crow Ciller guides.

     Mildred Weeks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/missweeks.png

The school's evil algebra teacher, and later the school's evil principal.

  • Ascended Extra: She's introduced as a minor character early in Season 4 but doesn't do much until Season 8, where she's (literally) promoted to a major antagonist.
  • Characterization Marches On: There's a throwaway line early in Season 8 which implies she's weirded out by Miss Murder, but the two are later revealed to be an Official Couple who are quite close.
  • Darker and Edgier: In her first appearance she behaves very cartoonishly but by Season 8 she's become much more jaded.
  • Establishing Character Moment: The first thing we see her do in Season 8 is to burn a box of lost & found stuff, making it pretty clear what kind of principal she is.
  • Evil Teacher / Evil Principal
  • Interface Screw: The pages where she's introduced are presented as an interactable RPG battle
  • Would Hurt a Child: The first thing she does in the comic is attack several students with a large knife, and come Season 8 she's selling them out to the Crow.

     Miss Murder
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/missmurder.png

A teacher at Puke City West and Principal Weeks' loyal henchwoman. Absolutely adores agony and torment- mostly inflicting it, but hey, she's not picky. Unsettlingly cheerful about it too.

     Miss Corvidae

Former principal of Puke City West, now deceased. Despite dying in the pilot, her presence has hung over the rest of the series. She was very rude.

     Fresh Emma
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freshemmacc.png

A clone of Emma created by Beloved who gets hijacked by Fresh Fries, but slowly develops her own personality.

  • Doppelgänger: Of Emma, though she's not exactly thrilled about it.
  • Double Agent: Pretends to be on the side of the Crow Crusaders but secretly conspires with the Crow, but her actual allegiance is to Fresh Fries.
  • Evil Knockoff
  • Killing Your Alternate Self: She decides to kill the real Emma, resulting in her own death.
  • To Know Him, I Must Become Him: Inverted, Fresh Emma despises that she is an imperfect clone of Emma and intentionally tries to do the opposite of her to feel like she has her own identity.

Psyformes

Beings made of Psy who are involved in Ynce Iche.

     Ynce Iche Monster

Doris: Why can't they just tell us what it is? Like, what's "you just have to see it" supposed to mean

An alternate dimension containing a mysterious power that many seek to control, it also manifests as large red creature. Technically described as "not really a "character" but more of a FORCE or PSYCHIC INSTANCE."

     Elaine Jr./Elaine Jr. X

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/elainejr.png
Click here to see her "X" form

A second manifestation of Elaine that appeared after she let her physical body die, she seems to exhibit some kind of control over Ynce Iche. As of the end of season six she's one with Elaine again.

     The Bloodwolfe/ Scissor Thing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bloodwolfe.png
Click here to see its alternate form

A particularly ancient psyforme who hovers around the comic for mysterious reasons. As of Season 6 it works with The Crow to control Ynce Iche.

  • Ancient Evil: Unlike the other psyformes in the comic, it implies that it was not born from a human psy, and Cortex speculates that it predates humans entirely.
  • Dead Guy Puppet: How it communicates.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: It devours many of the other psyforms in the comic and The Crow ends up serving it
  • Gory Discretion Shot: In an audio example, its kills are described as sounding like "scissors cutting through construction paper."
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: It wants to control Ynce Iche, but it's unclear what its true intentions are.
  • Homnivore: The Crow provide it with "juice" that they get from killing people.
  • Mysterious Watcher: Hangs around Ynce Iche for several seasons before getting involved in anything.
  • Shear Menace: In its form as the Scissor Thing.
  • Spoiler Opening: Appears in the title sequence before appearing in the comic proper.

     Fresh Fries
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/freshfries.png

Advanced psyform with an intense hatred of humans. Primarily physical in the form of an animated toy horse but comes to manifest in many other forms as well.

     Red Velvet

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redvelvetcc.png

A mysterious red entity who follows the Crow Cillers out of Ynce Iche and now hangs around with Emma.

  • Big Damn Heroes: It arrives out of nowhere to eviscerate Vince's uncle and save the cast... then it offers them a Poptart.
  • Detect Evil: It snarls at Beloved when it senses the puppet is up to no good.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: A character that looks like Red Velvet called "HELLGIRL" appears in Microwave Planet but behaves completely differently, making it unclear if this appearance is canon.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In its first appearance in the comic it leisurely strolls past the Blood Wolfe and snacks on a Poptart.
  • Mysterious Past: None of the characters know what it is, where it came from, what it can do, or why it hangs around Emma... but it sure does love Poptarts.
  • Prophet Eyes
  • Reality Warper: At the very least it's immune to being manipulated by others.
  • Red Is Heroic: The few times it acts without being prompted it's to either protect someone or offer them a Poptart.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Look at how many times Poptarts are mentioned in this section.
Courtney: I've seen it... eat Pop Tarts... buy Pop Tarts... aaaand one time it threw up Pop Tarts on my slippers.
Doris: I guess it looks at Pop Tarts too.
Gretchen: Maybe it's a hungry ghost and it has to eat Pop Tarts.

     Nothing

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nothingcc.png

A painting that is also Greta's eyeball, but is also neither.

  • Determinator: She becomes obsessed with tracking down Emma and unraveling the secrets of the Crow Cillers

  • Evil Me Scares Me: In a painful inversion, the alternate version of herself is scared of her after learning that the original Paisley has such a horrific past.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Describes forcing herself to grow accustomed to the feeling of her cat breathing (despite finding it horrifying) because that's what normal people do, and she demonstrates a clear desire for friends despite not really knowing how to connect with others. However...
  • I Just Want to Be Special:
Beloved: You... want to be a weapon?
Paisley: Yeah, isn't that the whole point?
  • Lack of Empathy: Somewhat
  • Odd Friendship: With Beloved
  • Psychic Powers
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: In her first appearance at the end of Season 3 she's dressed like a normal schoolgirl but her wardrobe gradually grows grungier as she goes further down her path.

Huh? Oh, nah, we're fucking awesome.

Ok, yeah, I thought so, just checking.

Slap-bass IDM punk grrrl duo. Currently cruising around in their van, trying to put some albums together, playing some video games. Smelly, hungry, horny, and cool.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/inadress.png

Gatomon and Meowth, but they're wearing dresses.

  • Art Evolution: Lampshaded
Lisa: Did you have a nose last season?
Meowth: I'm trying it out. I think it ties my look together.
  • Catchphrase: "Nice"
  • Cloudcuckoolander
  • Drugs Are Good: Discussed when they roll on molly:
Gatomon: Every time we do this it's just like... it's always healing. I never regret this even if there's like y'know a hangover, which like usually isn't a big deal for me anyways.
Meowth: Same and it's like... it's always so worth it when there is one. It's just- after I feel like I retain so much of this positivity and this in tuneness with myself... every time I do it again I think back on how much that I didn't have before. How much I've unlocked of myself.
  • Lawyer-Friendly Cameo: Hilariously averted when they and the other members of their gang are sued for copyright infringement and told to abandon their trademarked forms, forcing them to flee to an alternate dimension for much of Season 4.
  • Those Two Guys: They're never seen without each other.
  • Unusual Euphemism: Their sexual exploits are often depicted as them eating each others' guts, though given the bizarre nature of the comic this could actually be happening.

     Lisa Simpson

Emma: You know to be honest, you really do sound EXACTLY like Lisa. Like, if she was dead inside.

Lisa: Thanks.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lisa_27.png

A version of Lisa Simpson who was kicked off of her show for being unpopular and was left to her own devices in an exact copy of Springfield. After leaving she meets up with the In A Dress gang and becomes a fixture in their hijinks.

  • Cute Mute: Never speaks and prefers to communicate through gunshots
  • Cyborg: Subverted, it's explicitly stated that she's not a robot... but she is a printer.
  • Eaten Alive: Played for comedy.
Meowth: Remember when that cop pursued us for our crimes? I thought she was, you know, gonna shoot him. But then she just vored him, that was great.
Gatomon: Yeah I remember, she's still eating him.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: She's Cream The Rabbit, and she has a gun.
  • Not-So-Imaginary Friend: Meowth in a Dress and Gatomon in a Dress come up with the idea for her, and then she's present in their next appearance with no explanation.
  • Reckless Gun Usage: Reacts to most situations by firing a gun
  • Sphere Eyes

     Y 2 Crittler

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/y2crittler.png

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lilking.png

The cast of ''Lil King'', which follows the adventures of a child ruler, her long-suffering aide, and her dim-witted guard (who is a dragon). Hilarity ensues.

     Yellow Rose

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2022_05_15_192552.png

The star of the hit series Goblin's Crusade: Yellow Rose, she's a goblin with a magic yellow rose on a crusade.

  • Affectionate Parody: Of long-running adventure anime.
    • "Fanfic Of Horror II" contains Mockumentary segments that seem to poke fun at the differing reactions people have to anime, as well as the roles it can play in people's lives.
  • Bloodless Carnage: Averted by one notorious episode where Yellow Rose is cut by a knife.
  • Crack Pairing: As-Told-By-Crittler is seen writing Yellow Rose/Final Bloodmaster Alpha fanfiction.
  • Crisis Crossover: Makes an appearance in an episode of Lil King.
  • Cyclops
  • Executive Meddling: Lord Marrow replaced the original staff of the show for being difficult to work with, which he is proud of because it resulted in financial success.
  • Last Of Her Kind: Dialogue from one of her scenes implies that the other goblins are extinct.
  • Morph Weapon: The titular yellow rose, which can be used to summon all manner of objects.
  • Never Say "Die": Characters on her show don't "die," they're merely "turned into statues."
  • Periphery Demographic: Adult characters such as Mint Chip and Marcus openly admit to being fans.
  • Religious Programmes: Surprisingly, the show is produced by the Crow.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Makes probably the fewest appearances out of all the Show Within a Show comics but gets a decent amount of lip service from the cast and inspired Ondine to take up sword fighting.
    • A specific episode ends up being hugely important to Paisley's backstory.
  • Word of Gay: In an in-universe example, she has copious amounts of Ho Yay with an unnamed villain to the point where the In-A-Dress Gang declare that "in pop culture, they're generally accepted to be gay."
  • Valley Girl: How she talks.

The New Breed/The Next Generation

The new cast of characters introduced in Season 8

     Fereshteh Farrokhzad
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fereshteh.png

De facto leader of the new generation of Crow Cillers- the main character and she knows it. Lacks the obsessive tv trivia of her predecessor Emma, but finds herself driven to investigate the mystery of Ynce Iche all the same.

     Kaitlyn Gordon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaitlyngordon.png

For the record, don't take anything I ever say seriously. I have. Never. Been serious. And I will never. Ever. Be Serious. EVER.

Fereshteh's best friend loves sarcasm and eating. Knows how to play a fool for a good joke. There's a genuine person inside there, but she'll be damned if she's gonna let you know that.

     Margot Reed
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/margotreed.png

Fereshteh: God, you're such a tool Margot.

Margot: Tool of justice, Farrokhzad. Tool of justice.

     Greta Abernathy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gretaabernathy.png

Are you okay? You almost look like you're nervously backing away from me with a look of utter terror, haha!

An unsettling child from Puke City West School who follows Fereshteh and her friends around. Behind her unconvincing smokescreen of normalcy lies an unhinged killer. Her eyeball is alive or something..? Don't worry about it. As of Season 9 she's training with the Crow to control Ynce Iche.

     Breakfast Lunch

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/breakfastlunch.png

A mysterious student from Puke City West School who is befriended by Kaitlyn and friends. Their unexpressiveness and strange hyperfixations make their sarcastic detachment play a little less clear than Kaitlyn's. But don't worry, they're acutely aware of how weird they are.
