Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Conflicting Opinion: Zero (Drakengard 3), Zero ( Mega Man X, Takuto Maruki .
  • Rivals: I-No, Margret Moonlight, Kimmy Howell.
  • During the year 2003 in a world that will be put on the verge of extinction after the fall of a red dragon from the sky, the white snow beginning to fall in the summer of 2053, and the rise of a terrible red-eyed legion plaguing all of Tokyo. With this came a deadly disease is known as White Chlorination Syndrome, which over time transformed a human into salt or Legion. It was an incurable outbreak and with the fall of Jericho humanity's survival looked bleak. So, the plan of Project Gestalt was set in motion. While the groundwork was set by the remaining humans, the idea of seeing the project into completion was put in the hands of two red-haired twins know as Devola and Popola.
  • Obeying their programming, the duo oversaw countless Replicants and Gestalts during the aftermath of the Legion attacks hoping the souls of humans would drift into their assigned shells with no problems. Yet, the very first successful replicant and his ill sister/daughter created a domino effect that would lead to the hollow shells developing their own personalities, and the "shades" becoming mindless beasts without their human forms. With this problem leading to Replicants becoming sentient, the twins decided to lay their hopes on the "Shadowlord" and Nier to finish the project and save humanity. Sadly, a tragic series of events would lead to Nier denying his fate, and due to their personal feelings slaughtering Devola. Popola now enraged saught to kill Nier and his friends only to end up dying in a huge explosion with Emil.
  • Several decades in the future, the failed human restoration plan left the Devola and Popola models being used as scapegoats to blame and shame for what remained of all life on Earth. Being forced to accept the guilt of their previous selves, the new set of androids merely serve as medical support for the resistance fighting against the alien machines ravaging the planet. Now, the duo only wants to gain some kind of atonement for not only failing humanity but themselves as keeping making safe was their only reason to exist...
  • Devola and Popola are not only talented singers as a duet, but they also become powerful magic users displayed when they had to battle Nier, Kaine, and Emil using all sorts of Sealed Verses granted to the various Grimoires from Noir to Weiss. Naturally, the same powers Nier had were an example of how the replicant felt used by the twin androids when he confronted him in the Pantheon. They knew that he was still resentful of them considering those replicants are mere shells in a game to revive humanity.
    • Grimore Weiss felt the same as his companions about the twins using them and their lying methods, but considering the outcome for everyone involved both the book and Nier couldn't hold it against the androids. They did look after Yonah and were like family to them. Without a world filled with the Black Scrawl or shade replicant fighting perhaps it was finally time to stop...
  • While quite to forgive and accept Nier and Weiss as possible friends again, the same couldn't be said for the former prince and mighty draconian pact partner. While they also had their own apocalyptic threat to fight off in the form of The Watchers, a foreign particle called maso would create magic while along with it came White Chlorination Syndrome that resulted in the eventual end of humankind. Devola and Popola were unable to simply let go of the fact Caim and Angelus unintentionally killed off the world as they knew it. Not that Caim gave a damn ready to cut down or let his partner burn the androids to ash if they ever stepped foot in his domain.
    • Then, another individual made it clear they also had a hand in the events that led to mankind's downfall though not on purpose. That girl was only known to everyone as Zero. An undead corpse whose flower managed to succeed in its overall goal through a bizarre Butterfly Effect since Zero existed in another world. She just wanted to get even with the shitheads and intoners in her world and did not want to make things even more fucked up for the people from Devola and Popola's version of Earth.
  • As for the remnants of Project YoRHA, each of the fellow androids gave the singing twins a more friendly welcome. 9S, in particular, was grateful for their help in trying to break into the tower of the Red Girls. Considering how the rest of the artificial humans treated them both this made them hug the scanner model in pure happiness for being accepted and welcome despite their flawed programming.
  • 2B and A2 were also forgiving of Devola and Popopla for what happened during the incident with the Shadowlord and Nier since it was a very dire situation with very little chance of it actually going in a positive way due to a lack of communication from all parties involved. 2B knew from past experience how without understanding or empathizing with others could lead to pointless violence and suffering. A2 wished Kaine would hurry up and come so they could all get depressed and drunk together in some bar with other gods not that Popola was fond of beer in general.
  • As the duo were obsessed with protecting humanity for over 1000 years various hostile machines made enemies of the androids including Ultron, Sigma, and Venjix just to name a few. Ultron was also interested in the "Black Scrawl" and alien lifeforms from Nier's world as they could prove useful in making stronger drones for the machine alliance much to Devola and Popla's horror.
  • The other person in the Pantheon named Zero was also a figure of unknown possibilities for the twins due to his actions being rather morally grey as well. While his actions did result in a better world for reploids and humans, the number of lives taken by his hand much like someone else the twins knew who was very protective of people important to him.
  • One day while singing a tone for children deities a crimson-haired schoolgirl quickly walked up to both Devola and Popola while calling them "Kasumi" to their shock. The phantom thief had been traumatized by her later sister's death and couldn't really get over it, so in order to help Takuto Maruki offered a form of therapy by making her sister's image appear on the twins. Neither appreciated being used by the doctor just to inspire happiness for one person, but in a funny way, the girl reminded them so much of Nier's precious daughter/sister. Devola and Popola couldn't deny feeling something akin to a real human emotion when Sumire hugged them both so tightly.
  • The observers were frighted by the sight of black blobs of living darkness roaming through their house one day under the power of a demon witch seeking to find out more about "shades" and if they could be made into useful servants. Luckily for Devola and Popola, a bright light shined in front of them revealing the keybearer who took down the heartless in one blow. Unaware the twins weren't exactly helpless, the hero of the Keyblade was happy to potentially make new friends in these two girls.
  • They often get challenged into singing matches by various performing deities in the Pantheon. Courtney Gears and Kimmy Love thought they needed new material like rap or pop, and Margret and I-No felt they needed more edge in their voices and different instruments like a guitar or even changing their wardrobe to look more seductive. Alison Blaire, the disco era hero Dazzler loved hearing their own song and got to play a few songs with them including her own cover of This Silence is Mine and Ashen of Dreams, which brought tears to several gods upon hearing such a sorrowful song about life's end.
  • "Now I know why the two of us were born together. For beings without souls... living alone... that would just be too sad..."

Neil McCauley and Lieutenant Vincent Hanna, Divine Duo of Peaceful First Meetings Between The Hero and Villain (Neil: Brother)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/non_violent_initial_confrontation.jpg
Hanna on the left, Neil on the right
  • Theme Song: Heat
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol:
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral for Neil, Lawful Good for Hanna.
  • Portfolio: A cop and career criminal who are dedicated to their professions, slowly bonded with each other due to similar personalities, no one is truly in the right or wrong, refusals to dedication outside of their job, considers each other as equals
  • Domains: Crime, Justice, Personal Lives, Standards, Pursuit
  • Heralds: Neil's Crew (Chris Shiherlis, Michael Cheritto, Trejo), the LAPD (Detectives Sammy Casals, Mike Bosko and Danny Schwartz, Sergeant Drucker)
  • Allies:
  • Respected by: Leonard Snart (for Neil), the House of Theatre and Spectacle
  • Avoids: The Houses of Family and Relatives and Love and Affection for Hanna and Neil respectively, Charlie and Nicole Birdman (for Hanna)
  • Enemies: Each other (also counts as Worthy Opponent), police of all kind including Leverage Consulting, Dimitri Rascalov, the Joker, the Houses of Law and Justice and Commerce (for Neil), the House of Crime and Transgressions especially by the likes of Omar Little, Raymond Reddington, Michael and Vito Corleone and the DiMeo and Soprano family (for Hanna)
  • Crime and justice go hand in hand as the criminals run away whenever the going gets tough or face the consequence of breaking the law, yet few times does this include intricate relationships between the officers and the criminals themselves. Take these two men of opposite professions: Neil McCauley, a man of expertise when it comes to heists and Vincent Hanna, who lives by his job more than his family. When the hunt for Neil began, Vincent was tasked to trail his move and study his opponent, while the same was also being done by Neil towards him. After a streak of ambushes a plan of one last heist, the two would finally meet in a diner, where the two would understand each other and see how they are not so different in terms of individual lives. As Neil puts it, "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner.", seeing how both their lives past the profession have been falling apart. One last heist and a desire for personal revenge sealed McCauley's fate at the hands of Hanna, after betraying the very code he swore himself on.
  • Life on the city of Los Angeles is not easy, especially after a shootout in an airport where the authorities are investigating the fate of career criminal Neil who was shot by officer Hanna. Just as the investigation was coming to a close, a letter was sent to Hanna's office where a meetup was organized. To the officer's bemusement, a voice he was familiar with was heard, and was shocked seeing Neil alive once again. As he was about to draw his gun, two figures appeared right in front of the two with the promise of a new world beyond the lives they are living in. Hanna was skeptical of this deal but the sight of the criminal he shot dead being alive once more made him drop his doubts and agree with the terms. Few hours after the event and he was back to his quarters, only to hear the radio and news of a local bank robbery in progress, Hanna realized that both he and Neil were back to where they started, this time on the newly ascended Trope Pantheons.
  • As the two were getting adjusted to their new life in the Pantheons, both were invited to certain houses, the Houses of Crime and Transgressions and Law and Justice for Neil and Hanna respectively. Them being forced to share the same temple despite their profession has created more awkward moments for the two, though it makes sense as the two are more alike than they think. Hanna takes his profession as a police officer too seriously to the point that his family life has been questioned so many times, and many of those times does he admit that being a father is a difficult task. Neil does the same, as he has no family to speak of due to his code that makes sure he disconnects from anyone to avoid the sense of being followed. It works but has created a miserable life for the criminal, and when he does break the rule once, it is the last time he ever walked on the Earth. Them being invited to the Houses gives more room to focus on their profession as Hanna provides more manpower for the rising heists around the Pantheon and Neil creates more robberies for the criminals to participate on.
  • While the duo are against each other thanks to the nature of their jobs, the two's relationship is not on outright hate, in reality they share a common bond regarding their lives as they are very dedicated men with a lack of care for anything beyond their jobs, a risk that the two, especially Hanna, had to face the consequences for even after the case. Their ascension to the Pantheons still has not fixed this and as a result the two are dealing with this issue poorly, unhelped by them being recruited by various police officers and criminals in the realm. A common joke recurring between the two is that those who view the duo's life are simply spectating them for the massive shootout and not for the inner story between the duo's lives, something that the House of Theatre and Spectacle both agree and disagree with since both the story and visual effects are both what sold the movie for them.
  • Their hirings by certain Pantheon sects have introduced them a rather busy life despite being given the freedom to go wherever they please. Hanna's placement to the Pantheonic Police Force has him dedicated to tracking not just Neil but every single criminal he can catch, as well as organizing squads to prepare an assault, or as he calls it, anti-heist squads. The Police Force has been neglected but Hanna wants to reorganize it for better long-term efficiency. Neil on the other hand saw the rust bucket known as the House of Crime and Transgressions and saw an opportunity to put the disorganized syndicates into order, using his career criminal expertise on play and putting them back on the map, using the power of The Caper. This freedom of choice also made them wary about two houses, the Houses of Love and Affection as well as the Family and Relatives house as their lives were plagued with problems related to both love and marriage that they would not want to reminiscence their struggles before in their supposed new lives.
  • In the criminal world, heists are the crimes that aim for big scores. Money and fame are big but at the same time, risks are even bigger and may result in either death or prosecution to everyone involved. To keep an idea afloat in a place like the Pantheon, there needs to be a leader to prepare for the plan ahead. Neil McCauley decided to be the frontrunner of such endeavour and has been recruiting various criminals of such scale to accomplish capers of many kinds. This lead him to recruiting three main groups, each with their specialized roles in his career criminal revival, alongside him adding his crew as his heralds.
    • On the streets of France, four men known as Tony, Jo, Mario Ferrati and César were brought by Neil for recruitment, following him hearing their daring jewelry heist. Seeing that he is meeting the progenitors of the Caper Genre, he was thankful for their ideas and wanted them for good use. He organized the four for stealthy heists, utilizing the lack of noise and mastercraft of rappeling to steal any loot possible. While he admired the four, he does have his worry with César since his mistake of taking one bauble and exposing the crew's heist a day later could land a fatal blow if done again in the Pantheon. He holds no grudge against him since his safecracking skills are desirable for their role.
    • On a dilapidated warehouse, six men were contacted by Neil for another role. These six men, dubbed the Cabot Crew, were evaluated by Neil and were assigned for additional manpower, that being should one member be missing, a member of the crew can take the absentee's place. Mr. White was okay with the role, though Pink and Blonde argue they should have been given bigger stakes. He would have considered it but their shaky relationship makes it a risk, especially for Blonde and Pink, as the former's psychopathic tendencies and the latter's professionalism (read: apathy for anyone) is a clear sign that the Cabot brothers should have chosen better picks. In addition, he feels an odd sense of déjà vu with Mr. Orange but cannot put his finger in it, likely because he was responsible for the group's fall as he was a police rat.
    • A mysterious figure eventually contacted Neil of a heister group that could also fill a role in his plans. Meeting the gang known as the PAYDAY Gang and evaluating their history made them the perfect go-to group for loud heists, those that require a ton of firepower to steal cash. Dallas agreed with this and has been socializing with Neil thanks to certain similarities. The other heisters are fine with the team-up but Neil has his worries with Wolf and Hoxton as their temperamental attitudes could risk the loss of innocent blood, something he and Bain agree with that no innocent blood should be spilled when in a heist, unless its the police.
  • The criminal underworld grows with every day that passes and Neil's presence has sparked many criminals' view thanks to his charismatic personality and standards, which makes him a standout to the usual gangbangers and killers. After he recruited his group of heisters, he started focusing on criminals who would approach him so that he may gain more connections, most linked to the other heisters he recruited such as the Los Santos trio, Carl Johnson, Niko Bellic and the Boss of the 3rd Street Saints, all of which have their own mindsets and history of crime. While he is willing to recruit willing people into his planned heists, he always has a set of rules one must follow, else they risk getting a bullet to the head (and a double tap for good measure). The aforementioned people are not shy from their killing which makes them a tough sell, though Niko is the sympathetic of the bunch, stemming from history with war and revenge.
  • Before any heist could occur, there needs to be a way to plan these events to prepare for any form of distraction, as well as creating a hub that can connect criminals of various kinds. That was when he decided to collaborate with Raymond Reddington and an anonymous contractor responsible for the domain known as Crime.net, giving the criminals the access to contracts of all kinds. Those in need of money can enter Crime.net and assign themselves to arrangements, so as long as the job is accomplished and the contractor is willing to pay, a benefit to most syndicates and masterminds such as the DiMeo and Soprano family as well the Corleone brothers, who have used the website to their fullest extent. Typical of the nature of crime itself, there will always be contractors the most hardened veterans will avoid thanks to their reputation. That was what he found under Dimitri Rascalov and the Joker, the two people Neil considers to be for far too much for what he is getting. The reports of Dimitri's backstabbing habits and the Joker's lack of care towards his own men gave him a headache, likely from remembering the one criminal he allowed on his wing: Waingro.
    • Remembring Waingro was a pain for him, as his presence, alongside a deal with another client for revenge, is what arguably lead to his downfall and his path of revenge. His connection to him grows even further since it was him who killed off the eyewitnesses on his first heist and lead him to his runaway nature, a path of no return. For this, he has made a statement to anyone trying to join him, be it the Cabot Crew's Mr. Blonde, the PAYDAY Gang's Wolf and Hoxton and the other delinquents of any kind to not resemble any form of psychopathic attitude or its their ass getting booted from his crew, no questions asked.
  • Hanna on the other hand has been organizing the Pantheonic Police to a workable state. His first view of the establishment was with disappointment due to how messy the officers are stationed as well as the presence of corruption all-over. The person who was in charge, Commissioner Jim Gordon apologized but is willing to recruit officers of various kinds to revive the police force after years of inactivity. To compensate, Gordon gave Hanna a full police unit for his type of criminal activity he chooses. With his rival Neil in mind, he chose his unit to be specialized against capers, using full force to pursue heisters. Since Hanna was tasked for heists, he has picked a few members to aid him alongside his LAPD team, which he placed as his heralds.
    • First on the list was a police officer who could offer some assistance in firearms, the first officer to volunteer was Dirty Harry, who gladly took Hanna's offer without hesitation. A glance at his portfolio shows Harry is no stranger to criminals like Neil but has taken a far more vigilante-like approach, killing them off rather than apprehending them to the force, which has proven to do far more harm than good has costed him quite a harsh reputation among officers alike. Hanna appreciates his support and recruited him for firefights but has been told to watch him over, as some of his fellow officers are uncomfortable with a trigger-happy cop like him.
    • On the other side of his team is infiltration, or gaining information as informants, residing within criminal hideouts. Wei Shen and Thomas Angelo has offered support for Hanna's task force as their inside undercover history has shown to be valuable and can help them plan ahead in the case Neil and company strikes first. Shen's connection to the Triad and Angelo's connection to the mafia also gives them more connections, though risk should be considered if in the case either of them gets caught.
    • He finally hit big when Leverage Consulting came up front to Hanna after the group's bouts against the PAYDAY Gang and Cabot Crew, two of the groups linked with Neil. The information of the groups gave Hanna more information on him and predicted correctly that Neil was making something big as soon as he was heading back to being a career criminal, as well as him recruiting heisters. With him attracting more interested criminals, Hanna has the chance to do the same by recruiting more police officers into his anti-heist forces, giving him equal footing against Neil should the two see each other in the middle of a heist.
  • To hit Neil and his operations hard, he needs to strike at the heart of his profession, the House of Crime and Transgressions and with it, his associates. Attacking Neil will not be enough and so directed his attention to criminal syndicates of various kinds, starting with Raymond Reddington, who's connections are worth documenting. With a slowly reviving Pantheon Police, security has been tight and the entire House has been on lockdown to protect the other Houses of cases of theft, murder and various kinds. Despite his lack of sympathy towards criminals, he does a little soft spot for Omar Little, thanks to his legend of being one of those criminals who have a strict code and exploits drug dealers. Him hearing that he even visits his grandmother and takes a rest on Sunday did warm his heart a little, a shining light underneath the rotten underworld that is the House.
  • While it may be true that Hanna's performance on the force is exceptional, the more empathetic members of his unit has questioned his personal life and after reading his portfolio, show a shocking truth to his family and how his dedication to his job resulted to him being a failure of a father. This may explain why the House of Family and Relatives has been adament of not letting him in, as all the events that transpired from his absence, be it the near suicide of his own daughter due to neglect and his breaking marriage with his wife shows enough how his workaholic nature lead him to his failure. The House of Love and Affection also has the same feelings for him and he agrees as well, sometimes breaking down in tears after realizing how bad his ruined his family's lives, though such actions already happened and he will have to live with his own mistakes.
    • Divorce is very few and far between in the Pantheons, but none have taken Hanna's mistakes more seriously than Charlie and Nicole Birdman as their title is a reminder of how Hanna's dedication lead him to his predicament. His attitude also gives off a bad vibe between the two especially with his mistreatment of his daughter, which makes the two more proud of their child after seeing what happened to her. There was a plan for the couple to have a session with Hanna to help him amend his wounds, but he left the second session and never came back, proving to the two that Hanna's case may be something that they cannot help with.

Time to break the monotony.

Whilst I'm in due process of making House Splits regarding Time And Space to form Space and Cosmos and Time and Temporality, I've given a thought about whom to consider for House Guardians. I've eventually decided on a "Two Groups of 3" for the latter; The Time Police and The Time Breakers. I will be listing the number of deities that I will consider for whom to consider members...

For Time Breakers, I elect Thawne (his trope is the opposite of Chronoa), Caius Ballad (his trope is Time Crash, he knows every prophecy due to his time traveling, and the story of Final Fantasy XIII-2 ends with The Bad Guy Wins), and Kang the Conqueror (his time traveling has created so many versions of himself that the Council of Kangs is a thing. My Future Self and Me is putting it lightly).

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mamoru_chiba.png
As Tuxedo Mask/Tuxedo Kamen
  • Lesser God, borderline Greater when using the Golden Crystal.
  • Symbol: A Rose, Mask, a Cape and Top Hat.
  • Theme Song: This
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Mysterious Protectors, Throwing Roses in the Middle of a Fight, Token Love Interests, Distressed Dudes, Chick Magnets, Butt Monkeys, Useless Boyfriends (Except when he’s not), Sharp Dressed Men, Being Tall, Dark, and Handsome, Sarcasm, Even the Guys Want Him, Being The Comically Serious, Wearing a Coat, a Hat and a Mask, Age Lift (in the Anime), Reincarnation Romance With Usagi, Team Dads (Metaphorical and Literal)
  • Domains: Magic, Love, Compassion, Protection
  • Followers: Mystere
  • Allies: The Sailor Guardians (especially Usagi Tsukino and Chibi-Usa, his lover and future daughter respectively), Luna, Zuko, Geo Stelar, Luna Platz, Avatar Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph Beifong, Yuuto Kiba, Ron Weasley, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Steve Rogers/Captain America, Clark Kent/Superman, Captain Planet, J'onn J'onzz/The Martian Manhunter, Androids 17 and 18, Ichigo Kurosaki, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Lekmet, Hekapoo, The Good-Aligned Kamen Riders
  • Enemies: Queen Beryl, Death Phantom, The Death Busters, The Dead Moon Circus, Chaos, The Lich, Cell, Lord Chaos, The Batman Who Laughs, Esdeath, Yuuki Terumi, Kefka Palazzo, Darkseid, Frieza, Baby, The Mage of the Beginning, Azula, Sirius, Copy X, Vanitas, The Incubators, Lucifer, YHVH, The Joker (Enemy Mine when dealing with the Batman Who Laughs), The other Joker, Moro, Lord Tirek, Shocker
  • Former Enemy: Sailor Galaxia
  • Friendly Enemies With: James
  • Mamoru Chiba is a man who was once a mystery unto himself. His ordinary high school student self, his guardian identity Tuxedo Mask, his past life as Prince Endymion, his future incarnation as King Endymion…and yet neither his normal self nor his Tuxedo Mask identity knew that any of these, let alone all of them, were one and the same. In fact Tuxedo Mask initially played out as a Split Personality he transformed into whenever Usagi was in danger despite neither self being any the wiser, as well as more of a mysterious thief than a true guardian. In time, though, all his identities were ultimately revealed and connected together, and he embraced his destiny as a protector of Earth and future King of the Moon.
  • Mamoru has been in the Pantheon for quite a while. He ascended to the Pantheon in order to help protect Usagi from the evils within it and aid her in fighting them, much to the joy of her and the other Senshi.
  • Some people think he met Usagi as a 21-year-old college student. He was actually 16 and in high school when they met, 17 when they ultimately first got together. Yuuki Terumi has tried to troll him about this, but very quickly got shot down by his own stupidity when he asked Rei Hino what it was like to date Mamoru and she immediately answered with an "I don't know! Ask Usagi!"
  • Was very unhappy about the return of some of his and the Sailor Senshi’s foes in the Pantheon. Chief among them are Queen Beryl, who remains obsessed with him even in the Pantheon and Death Phantom, who used his Mind Manipulation abilities to get the Court of the Gods to grant him a new title and tried to destroy the universe, brainwashing Chibiusa to further these goals. That being said, things are personal with some of their other ascended foes, mainly the Death Busters for pretty much killing Chibiusa and Queen Nehelenia of the Dead Moon Circus for brainwashing him and wiping her from existence. She got better. Given that his Golden Crystal is one of the only things in the Pantheon capable of removing Nehelenia’s Curses and that he’s one of the only people capable of using it, people have been watching him as much as they can in order to make sure that nothing happens to him and the Crystal.
  • A lesser known ability of his is something called the Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber, and it often catches foes off guard that think all he can do is throw sharp roses and believe that he’d be easy pickings. It is a powerful blast of energy that he can fire from his hands in order to harm opponents, and he once used it alongside his future self to kill Esmeraude. Some foolishly overconfident villains have found themselves being obliterated by this attack as a result of underestimating him.
  • Before ascending, he has actually asked both Mega Man Geo-Omega and the Blue Spirit to fill in for him when he was unavailable to protect Sailor Moon. Likewise the other two have actually called on him to protect Luna Platz and Aang's group respectively. Targets he's had to help them fend off include Azula, Kefka, Sirius, and Copy X.
    • However, when Ventus ascended, he often finds that whenever Sailor Moon (or any of the other Magical Girls) is in danger, the young Keyblade wielder is one of the first people on the scene, sometimes with his friends Terra and Aqua, to help out. For some reason Vanitas has been frequently targeting him since then.
  • Like his future life's daughter Chibiusa, he absolutely hates the primordial Lich, and it all has to do with a very similar villain in his world that once corrupted Chibiusa. Also sorely dislikes Chaos for corrupting Sailor Galaxia, who killed him and brought him back as her thrall same as every other Sailor Guardian not named Moon or Chibi. Being the one who most often gets possessed or brainwashed to turn against his lover and fellow heroes, possessor/parasite villains such as recent ascendees Baby and the Mage of the Beginning tend to earn his general ire as well. This has all only intensified since the return of several former adversaries, especially Queen Beryl and Death Phantom.
  • Came to admire the twin cyborgs 17 and 18, who first got his attention when they engaged a troupe of magical girls during the Tournament of Power. They embraced the true spirit of magic and love even moreso than the actual magical girls did, found the magical girls to be pretty cool in the end, and showed self-sacrificial loyalty to each other and their teammates that impressed not only him, but the entire Magical Girl Sisterhood with whom he's aligned through the Sailors.
  • If he's out of his Temple in this House, just find him working in the House of Defense. He's VERY dedicated to protecting the Earth, and even shows some of this toward the rest of the Solar System. Because of this he earns great respect from the likes of Captain America, Captain Planet, Superman, and the Martian Manhunter, and holds great mutual ire with enemies such as Darkseid, Frieza, and especially Cell, who once boasted that his power alone could destroy the entire Solar System. He does find it somewhat funny how the Martian Manhunter once took up the name Hino Rei during one of his disguises.
  • Whenever something bad happens to the Earth, he will be affected. When Nehelenia started killing the planet via curse, he got sick and had a tough time trying to aid in the fight against her. Naturally, he despises Moro for trying to drain the Earth into an empty husk and turning it into a galactic bomb when it became clear he wouldn’t win. This hatred for the Consumer of Worlds intensified when he absorbed the energy of some of his men for a power boost when Mamoru allied himself with the Z-Fighters in a battle against him.
  • Can sometimes be seen in the House of Health and Diseases keeping people alive with his healing abilities, which he used to save Chibiusa’s life when the Death Busters nearly killed her. This is a trait he shares with Lekmet, who does heal people there as well, but far more carefully as unlike Mamoru, too much could cost Lekmet his life. The two get along, and Mamoru has even extended an offer of friendship to Hekapoo, which she appreciates.
  • Has been learning various types of martial arts from Batman after they both ran into each other during a chance encounter with the Joker which left him realizing that with the amount of monstrous beings in the Pantheon, he needs to be better prepared. Mamoru also loathes the Batman who Laughs, who reminds him of Wiseman...but with all of his Omnicidal Maniac and Monstrous behavior taken Up To Eleven. He is pretty relieved that He Who Laughs doesn’t have access to any of Death Phantom’s powers though unless he’s the Darkest Knight, which, to his surprise, is a form even some of his own allies have no intention of letting him obtain again.
    • And he was even more pissed to learn of his monstrous plans for Chibiusa regarding repeating what Wiseman did to her, but making it permanent, and he has declared that he will never let her near him, in a fight or otherwise. Really, he’s thankful that he hasn’t come into contact with Wiseman, and he and the Senshi are trying to make sure it stays that way.
  • Is legitimately disturbed by Esdeath as her obsession with Tatsumi reminds him of Queen Beryl’s towards him. Of course, there are plenty of other reasons to be disturbed by her such as her sadism and lust for battle, but her obsession with Tatsumi is at the very top of the list. It really didn’t help that Beryl and Esdeath are genuinely fond of each other.
  • The Joker that harasses the Smile Pretty Cures is another foe of his, and he has tried to steal Mamoru’s Golden Crystal more than once in order to try to find a way to destroy it in an effort to remove Hope from others. Mamoru’s allies come help him when he gets assaulted by Joker and anyone in Bad End that he sends after him. Joker has begun targeting Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi-Moon’s Silver Crystals as a result, and Mamoru will always be there to help them out when he strikes at them.

  • Rank: Intermediate Goddess (bordering on Greater if she gets emotional enough)
  • Symbol: Her Nurse Cap

  • On her tenth birthday, Ririka Moriya was given a magical nurse cap that allowed her to transform into the magical warrior known as Nurse Angel. The Earth was under siege by a race of evil aliens known as Dark Joker, so Ririka was tasked with combatting them. As her fight continued, however, her life and battles became harder and harder, and her mentor Kanon was killed at one point, though he eventually came back to life. Even after defeating the leader of Dark Joker, Buros, her troubles grew worse and worse, and this culminated with a sacrifice on her eleventh birthday to purge the world of Dark Joker’s Black Vaccine. Ririka survived, amazingly enough, but was left abandoned with no indication anyone would remember her.
  • The Sisterhood was examining Uncontacted worlds one day when they saw Ririka lying, abandoned and alone, in a field of flowers. They sent Chacha and her friends to speak with Ririka, and she explained her plight before remembering that she had seen Chacha on her world once before. Chacha quickly informed Ririka that they would locate her closest friends and bring them to the Pantheon, and this was done, with her neighbor, Seiya, a reformed member of Dark Joker, Dewey, and the revived Kanon, being those who came with her.
    • From there, Ririka was formally inducted into the Sisterhood, learning that though her tale was dark indeed, it was not as dark as the tales of the Puella Magi and the Hero Club, leading to a bond between these factions of the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood also granted her an endless supply of Green Vaccine, allowing her to never run out of magic at any time.
    • There was also Snow White, a frequent aide of the Sisterhood, who was forced into a Deadly Game with other magical girls for her very survival and simply for the amusement of the people. Ririka felt utterly enraged that the powers of magic would be used for deathmatches and vowed to help her take down any more systems of magical girl killing games.
  • The cruelty of Dark Joker with it’s schemes caused Ririka to naturally despise the two ascended Pretty Cure villains, Gohyan and Joker, and thus she often helps fight off their Uzainas and Akanbes whenever they attack a part of the Pantheon. The two are none too pleased as well, as they both know that having another magical girl to fight makes their jobs even harder. Still, their subordinates don’t really care, and Kintolesky has personally admitted that he views Ririka as one of his favorite girls to fight.
  • Because of Dark Joker's Black Vaccine, which was essentially pollution of all things good, she has often combatted the Lich and Hexxus whenever they try to pollute the Pantheon with death and decay. It helps that the Green Vaccine she was given can restore damaged land, flora, and oceans. Because of this, she often tags along with the Planeteers on missions whenever damage gets too great and the Pantheon must be healed beyond what they or Captain Planet can do.
