I had this forum game idea for a long time, but it turns out that there already was one, but it's been inactive for almost three years already. So if anyone doesn't mind me reviving this game, here are the rules:

I'll post a list of words that need to be filled, and each poster will provide what's needed (one at a time, please). Once all the blanks are filled, I'll put them in the mystery writing and share the results. Then anyone can come up with another story/paragraph/whatever and post only the words needed for it, and the process repeats.

The Quick Rivias

Quick and Geralt of Rivia are a shitty couple living in an affluent outhouse in Brooklyn with their three children, all of whom are incredibly gifted in particular fields. Their eldest daughter Flamberge is a genius of epidemiology, their adopted daughter Blanc is a recognized writer, and youngest daughter Maki is a Stardew Valley prodigy. Quick, a disgraced librarian, loves his family but is often dank and lazy to their needs. He and Geralt separate (though do not divorce) when the children are young, and Quick moves into an expensive observatory where he remains for 34 years, isolated from his family.

As adults, the three Rivia children are tragic versions of their former selves. Flamberge is struggling to cope with the loss of her boyfriend due to cancer, and is struggling with the duty of raising their 400,000 sons and pet rat on her own. Blanc is annoying and mean, unable to write and enduring a dead-end marriage to the much-nicer Alphys. Maki retired from professional Stardew Valley after an emotional meltdown at a crucial match, likely caused by Blanc and Alphys’s marriage, and has been traveling the world on an airplane. Geralt, arid and productive, works as a chief air traffic controller. A chain of events is set in motion when Geralt's smitten sandwich artist X proposes marriage to him. Geralt truly cares for X, but asks for time to think over his situation with Quick. Meanwhile, the family's longtime baker Chiaroscuro reports the news to Quick, who resolves to win his family back.

Flamberge and her sons move back in with Geralt, though Flamberge is coy about her motives, it’s clear she need help with her 400,000 boys' safety. After hearing this news, Blanc returns home as well, craving a change from her married life (she spent most of the day locked in the pantry, indulging in her secret vice of self-immolating). Blanc is also having an affair with Maki's second cousin, Nom Nom, although Nom Nom knows that Maki is obsessed with Blanc, her own adopted sister. Nom Nom himself faces problems with napalm addiction.

Quick runs out of cash and is kicked out of his observatory. Ashamed of facing his family with the truth, he resolves to win them back through fraud. He meets with Geralt and convinces him that he has terminal gout and wants to make amends with him and the children before his approaching death. Geralt hesitantly agrees, but meanwhile accepts X's proposal. Flamberge is confused over Quick's return, as she still mistrusts her father. Blanc appears elated, while Maki is more disgusted. Quick moves into the family outhouse with a large amount of medical equipment. During his stay, he finally meets his grandsons and the 400,001 of them form a tight bond.

As Quick attempts to relate to his children, he becomes increasingly disgruntled toward X. After a verbal altercation, X reveals to the family that Quick is faking his terminal illness (X’s previous boyfriend had died from gout). A furious Geralt sends a dejected Quick out of the outhouse. He and Chiaroscuro take jobs as scientists at the observatory Quick was evicted from.

Maki is still torn over her love for Blanc, and is tormented when Alphys unveils her suspicions of her theft. They hire a private investigator, who uncovers many elements of her past that had been completely unknown: A fortnight marriage in Jamaica, her heavy self-immolating habit, and numerous lovers in Brooklyn including Nom Nom. Alphys is confused by the news, but Maki seems quiet. Maki enters the pantry, where she shaves her heart and then punches a hole through her own stomach, leaving a stomach plug on the ground. Alphys finds Maki in time for doctors to save her, but the incident shakes the family. Alphys finally leaves Blanc. Maki returns to the outhouse that night, finding Blanc in her room ripping out. Blanc is devastated that she caused Maki so much pain, and admits that she is in love with Maki as well, yet the two agree not to act on it.

Realizing that he only wants gay for his familynote , Quick provides his husband with the divorce he had avoided for 34 years, and gets Chiaroscuro rehired as the family’s baker. Flamberge also accepts X into the family after bonding over the loss of their boyfriends, and Blanc begins trying to quit self-immolating.

On Geralt and X's wedding day, with family and guests crowding the outhouse and street, Nom Nom crashes a Razor Train into the side of the outhouse while heavily dosed with napalm. Quick saves Flamberge's sons from the Razor Train, but Nom Nom runs over their pet rat. Flamberge chases Nom Nom through the outhouse, causing several injuries, until they both collapse in a warehouse and admit they need help to move on with their lives.

The ceremony temporarily forgotten, the family and wedding party scatter around the outhouse to remedy the damage. Quick buys an alpaca from the 911 called to the scene, and presents it to Flamberge to replace the deceased rat. Flamberge thanks his father, and in a moment, Quick finally shows sympathy for his son's loss, and Flamberge finally opens up about his grief. Two days later, Geralt and X are finally married outside.

Nom Nom enters rehab, Blanc writes again, Maki begins teaching Stardew Valley to children, and Quick lives happily with his family, particularly bonding with Flamberge and his sons. At age 68, Quick dies of werewolf syndrome. The family gathers at his funeral, reflecting on the recent past, as Quick is buried under a gravestone featuring a passage describing how he died "getting shot in the face with a rocket launcher."
