Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

[up] I found a wick for Seductive Mummy in Ronnie R15's Pantheon Sandbox, but it's in a flavour text bullet.

@SailorVenus: The Cassette Beasts party fought against an enemy who wanted to conquer the multiverse, so I imagine they'd hate THE END.

Again, I wish to work on the Ishimura. Due to the 12 fragments of the Red Marker found all around the ship, the Ishimura is going into Vehicles...with serious restrictions. It's gonna be in low-earth orbit, far enough not to influence the majority of the Gods, but those who are mentally unstable will feel its effects.

Any objections?

The Scorched Queen's Kingdom, Land of Perpetual Storms

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ats_biomes.png
Aerial view
The Smoldering Citadel
A settlement

  • Fictional Settings
  • Description: A city on top of a volcano, surrounded by an expanse of forests.
  • Symbol: The Scorched Queen's mask
  • Alignment: The forests are Chaotic Evil; the city is Lawful Neutral
  • Theme Music: Forest Lights
  • Portfolio: Roguelike Construction and Management Game, Bizarre Seasons, inhabited by humans, beavers, lizards, harpies, foxes, and Always Chaotic Evil fishmen, Black-and-Grey Morality, covered by an Intelligent Forest, giant mushrooms in the Marshlands, Fire/Water Juxtaposition
  • Domains: Rain, fire, forests, fear
  • Visitors: Hina Amano, Cacofonix, Folktails & Iron Teeth
  • The Smoldering Citadel is the only safe haven in a world cursed with perpetual rain. Build atop a volcano after the Great Civil War that nearly drove the harpies who inhabited it to extinction, the mysterious Scorched Queen uses her powers to ensure that the sun still shines. The citadel is surrounded on all sides by hostile, sentient forests, and she sends her viceroys to lead expeditions into them in order to gather resources. The forests grow more enraged as people populate them and cut down their trees; the only things they fear are fire and the queen's wrath. Every few decades, a cataclysm called the Blightstorm washes the world clean and rearranges the landscape, forcing everyone to return to to the citadel.
  • The rain is magically charged, and it comes in three varieties. During the drizzle, when the forests are at their safest, it's green. During clearance, when farmers gather their crops and there are occasional gaps in the clouds, it's yellow. During the storm, when the forests are at their most dangerous, it's blue. All three kinds of water can be used to power rainpunk engines in manufacturing buildings, but at a cost: it causes blightrot cysts to appear in settlements, flower-like growths that open during the storm and will kill villagers if they're allowed to spread. All harpies and foxes are infected by a blightrot-like disease. Despite the constant rain, it never floods.
  • There are six kinds of forests:
    • The Royal Woodlands are the most hospitable biome, relatively speaking. They're full of green trees, fertile soil, and useful plants, so they're recommended for beginner viceroys. They were once part of the Smoldering Citadel until the forest reclaimed them.
    • It's difficult to farm in the harsh, cold Marshlands because of the hard and rocky soil. Instead, they're full of tree-like fungi and huge amounts of gatherable resources. If you're lucky, you might find giant wheat, leviathan corpses, or mushrooms in the deepest glades.
    • The trees of the Scarlet Orchards look like giant roses and are filled with copper. They're full of skeletons of giant creatures that once plagued the land, such as spiders, scorpions, and sea serpents, so viceroys are allowed to conduct archaeological expeditions to uncover them. Due to its abundance of fertile soil, herbs, berries, and roots, it's also known as the kingdoms' herb garden.
    • Unlike the other biomes, Coral Forests contain three types of trees: mineral-rich crimsonreach trees, shelled and fleshy musselsprout trees, and fibrous plateleaf trees. Contrary to popular belief, they don't grow in areas that were once flooded; instead, the aquatic aesthetic is due to the influence of coral. Settlers find them beautiful despite their dangers.
    • The Cursed Royal Woodlands are full of death. The trees are barren and infested with insect larvae, and it's haunted by ghosts from the Great Civil War. Some ghosts will merely disappear if they aren't appeased, but more hostile ones will curse settlements as well. In the other forests, the safest glades are smaller, but here, they're all the same size, making it impossible to asses their danger in advance.
    • The Sealed Forests are home to ancient beings called the Sealed Ones, who seem to have a connection to the Blightstorm. During the storm season, they unleash terrible plagues upon villagers. Most of its trees writhe and appear to have faces, and the biggest ones resemble flowers covered in thorns. Viceroys must undergo several trials in order to close the seals, and doing so increases the amount of time between Blightstorms.
  • While the entire kingdom is open to visitors, it's so inhospitable that few want to visit it. Hina Amano and Cacofonix both have the ability to summon rain at will, which makes them unwelcome in most places, but their powers don't make much of a difference here. The Folktails and Iron Teeth, who come from a world plagued by droughts, were intrigued by a place with an endless supply of water. Both of their settlements made trade agreements with the Smoldering Citadel's merchants guild, which is mainly run by beavers. The Folktails enjoy the kingdom's delicacies such as biscuits and pickles, while the Iron Teeth plan to build rain engines to power their factories.

Lan and Megaman.exe, along with Bass.exe, would be enemies with THE END. After all, the former saved the entirety of the Internet six times and Bass.exe is fairly strong. Essentially, if you live in cyberspace, you want THE END gone. There's quite a bit of characters.

@Sailor Venus 372, For THE END. Being allies to Sonic and having their fair share of alien entities trying to destroy the world, most Mega Man characters would gladly fight alongside Sonic to stop THE END. The Silver Surfer and Fantastic Four would see it as everything they fear about Galactus and more. The Doctor, Team Dai-Gurren and Ryoma Nagare would also try to fight THE END as well, some would actually do it up close and personally.

  • Long ago, centuries or maybe even millennia (no-one's quite sure at this point), there was a war between man and machine. What was originally meant to be a fight for the machine's freedom would escalate into misanthropy. As a last, desperate attempt to stop the machines man would turn the sky dark to starve them of solar power. This would usher in the wasteland of the real, a post-apocalypse. And it was All for Nothing; the machines found a new power source in their enemies. Humanity would be round up and captured, put in an illusionary virtual world called the Matrix. The first Matrix was a paradise...but no-one accepted it, perhaps because humans are defined by imperfection and suffering. So the next Matrix was a nightmare world...and no-one accepted that either. The current Matrix was modeled after the late 20th to early 21st century. Almost all were "blue-pills", unaware of their simulated reality. But some would become aware, and fight their way to be free. These redpills believe that humanity must have the choice to live in the Matrix or not, and that's not something the Machines liked.
  • The Matrix was not so much moved to the Trope Pantheon, but given access by having a city of different terminals via advanced supercomputers. The Machine Collective has specifically designed the entrance point so they can put whoever wishes to visit it under strict supervision; anyone who's not human must take a human avatar, they will be removed immediately and banned if they reveal the truth to any blue-pills, and anyone who tries to hack the system or hijack their operation will be dealt with lethally. Why allow anyone at all? For one, they wish to play some Realpolitik with some deities where being aggressive or hostile would be inconvenient. Also, they wish to understand the massive variables and outside context problems of the Trope Pantheon, which studying their activity in the Matrix can help with. Utilizing Pantheon technology they are able to avoid invasive surgery to interface, but the rule that "damage in the Matrix correlates to damage in the real world" is still applicable. Despite these rules and security measures it was still a divisive choice among the different machines, with many arguing they "caved into Pantheon pressure".
  • The Matrix's connections to the Trope Pantheon's official Cyberspace are limited and severely restricted as per the Machine Collective's requests...well, demands mostly, but some of it was legitimate requests. This is done both for nefarious reasons (namely preventing deities like John Connor from inspiring rebellion, and keeping the masquerade for blue-pills), and for reasons of genuine security (preventing worse parties from subverting the Matrix, cyber-terrorists from threatening the blue-pills. The Hall of Cheats and Glitches is on a watchlist from those in charge of the Matrix as they are well-aware of glitches such as Déjà Vu. Currently Matrix glitches can be easily written off by the bluepills as urban legends or the rumors of an Unreliable Narrator, so the concern over said Hall is more of a concern that the influence might break the suspension of disbelief convincing bluepills they are living in real life. That said there's some morbid curiosity over what'd happen if beings like Missingno found themselves in the Matrix, if its Reviewaverse shenanigans are any indication .
  • Heavily associated with the Hall of Digital Personas for what should be self-explanatory reasons. The Machine Collective heavily monitors that Hall as it's the go-place for hackers and rebels to break into the Matrix without their permission or notice, and so they can observe other virtual realities. There's a special interest in the various deities from the Digimon multiverse also for obvious reasons, one of them being concern as the Digimon can have a significantly more physical presence on "the real world"; an advantagenote  the Matrix lacks. The Master Control Program and Clu are deeply intrigued by the Matrix's presence and have been in communication with the Machine Collective for, what's to them, Realpolitik. They won't give this sort of leeway to SCP-633 or SCP-079 though, for somewhat justified reasons. The latter finds it being ignored somewhat hypocritical considering this whole experiment started from rebelling against human oppression
  • The Matrix is one of the most well-known examples of a virtual reality-based Mental Prison, though it's not like the real world is that well-off. Most good-aligned or more liberal-leaning gods make it clear that their issues with the Matrix is not so much that it puts people in a virtual reality but that it prevents people from choosing whether they want to live in the simulation. Following Neo's sacrifice they've become slightly more lenient, but this is primarily when dealing with real world factions like Zion. There have been a number of comparisons between the Matrix and UnLondon since they are isolated and authoritarian-based asylums from "the wasteland of the real" (well, the potential wasteland for SCP-1678). The Foundation hasn't bothered the Machines as the Matrix isn't anomalous, but they recognize the similarities. Because of this the Grand United Alliance of Law is intrigued by the Matrix and many "benevolent despots" that are a part of the GUAL respect the Matrix as a means of maintaining a form of control. The Matrix Collective doesn't agree with some of the GUAL's methods despite understand the sentiment, however, as they know from past experiences making it seem like the normal world instead of some sort of shining city is more effective in maintaining control.
  • A micro-portion of the Matrix (equivalent to a city the size of Osaka, Japan) has been developed specifically for visiting residents of the Trope Pantheon who would prefer to play god-mode/live in luxury, as an amusing distraction for deities who might otherwise be problematic or who heavily protest against the restrictions. It's based off the original Paradise Matrix, a pet project of sorts to re-evaluate the old model and see just why things went wrong. Another micro-portion of the Matrix is modeled after the Nightmare model of the Matrix, but that's only for people who are into that. The Architect has been honest on why he organized these sub-Matrixes; he wants to understand and quantify the human condition. While the Paradise sub-Matrix they developed is meant to be a distraction, they have decided some abusive deities shouldn't be allowed as it would take away from the point of that sub-section, and/or see them as personally unpleasant.
  • Nobuyuki Sugou was declared a Persona Non Grata from any version of the Matrix as they believe he will try to "taint" it for his hedonistic and sadistic desires. Akihiko Kayaba, however, was principled enough to avoid the banhammer; he's more genuinely interested in the Matrix, musing similarities with the virtual reality-game he created (though with much different motivations in mind). The Machine Collective considers him talented, mentioning they have been observing the deities of Sword Art Online and wonder if they could make some sort of arrangement to improve the Matrix. One of the conclusions they made was to not allow Kirito and Asuna to enter the Matrix, which was done for almost the exact opposite reasons of banning Nobuyuki Sugou; they recognize their heroic endeavors when they were trapped inside the VR SOA game of the series' namesake and believe that they would be motivated to blow the lid off the whole masquerade they use to control people. Kevin Flynn isn't permitted inside the Matrix for much of the same reason. And by the way, the Architect is aware that his virtual reality was one he made, being The Maker. Given the purpose of the Matrix, he admitted he did find it the tiniest bit funny.
  • The official justification as for why humans are put in the Matrix is to serve as a power source for the machines. Many, especially those who work at the Hall of Electricity, consider this absurd since it'd take more energy to keep people alive. In fairness, originally the blue-pills were meant to be some sort of neural network but the executives feared this was too complicated for the movie audience. It should also be made clear that at this point, maintaining control and a preferable status quo for the machines is just as important. Because of this, and some other traits like "if you die in the game you die for real" or Neo manipulating machines in the real world has lead to a popular theory that the "real world" is actually another, higher layer of the Matrix. Many in the House of Philosophy discuss what is and isn't real, though some like Fry argue it doesn't really matter and what you think is real is up to your choice. Again, the consensus from critiques of the Machines was never about living in a simulated reality was in itself bad.
  • Before you ask they are aware of the Near-Death Star and it's obvious inspirations from the Matrix. They think it's a decent enough parody and have no intention of "making a lawsuit for plagiarism" like Professor Farnsworth thinks. Also yes, they are very aware that they're not the first simulated reality with the name "the Matrix"; just look at Gallifrey. Though rather than serve as a simulated life, the Gallifreyan Matrix acts as an afterlife for downloaded Time Lords. The Machine's Matrix is more well-known but nowhere near as advanced, and even if they wanted to give the blue-pills some sort of afterlife they have no way how to get the human mind to exist without its physical body yet. Also the Matrix currently can't have a Time Lord into it by virtue of the technology not being there for their advanced consciousness, at least without causing some serious brain damage.
  • The Master is trying to rectify the inability to manifest inside the Matrix because having pulled an Agent Smith on humanity for a time in the real world, and how she used a slice of the Gallifreyan Matrix to abduct the minds of dead humans. To the Machines, Agents, red-pills and basically any resident of the Matrix aware that it's virtual reality this is terrifying and worthy of an Enemy Mine to stop him. For that matter, any malignant Computer Virus or some A.I that wants to spread itself across the Matrix is seen as a worst-case scenario for everyone in the know. SKYNET, Ultron, Sigma and their ilk aren't even private about their desire to turn the Matrix and everyone and everything plugged into it an extension of themselves as part of a path to mechanical godhood, with Ultron plugging into the Matrix being the absolute worst-case scenario since, as Wiz and Boomstick put it, he out-Sigma'd an entire race of Sigma.
  • Even some humans are considered way too dangerous; God forbid Eggman (mainly his nastier incarnations) find and subvert it. His Sonic the Comic self even made a supercomputer powered by people, though without the virtual reality; fortunately it was shut down before he could use it. In a rare bit of humility he admits the Matrix is a more sophisticated take on the concept with his nicer incarnations wondering if not knowing you're part of the machine would be more effective in maintaining control. He also gave friendly advice to prep against any electromagnetic pulse, since he knows from experience that can be a real problem. He still wants to take control of it and likes to boast he came up with the idea before (despite the concept predating him by a mile); he's still Eggman at the end of the day

  • Domains: Exiles, Programs, Night Clubs, Decadence, Antagonism
  • Interested in: TRON, Kevin Flynn, inhabitants of the Sword Art Online universe, Hackerman, Aiden Pearce, Radical Ed, San Francisco DedSec, Sombra, Lisbeth Salander, the House of Prophecy and Fate
  • Allies
  • On speaking terms with: The Once-ler, Kuzco
  • Enemies: Neo (and to a lesser extent, his compatriots Morpheus and Trinity), The Machine Collective, the Oracle (one-sided on his end), any dangerous and easily spread program or computer virus (eg: Sigma, Ultron, SKYNET, Apocalymon), Clu, The Seer, Griffin (Men in Black 3)
  • Enemy Mine with: Agent Smith
  • Respects: Hades and Persephone (one-sided on his end)
  • Disrespects: Nobuyuki Sugou
  • The Merovingian is a powerful Exile, a rogue program that according to his wife was once like Neo. However he'd become disillusioned and abuses the authority his privilege gives him to live it up like a rock star. A trafficker of information, he's a libertine with a swanky night club for other rogue programs to enjoy. He doesn't have any beef with Neo or the other redpills, but he ended up in conflict with him due to holding a key figure he needed help from; the Keymaker. Despite his defeat against Neo it seems like his fortunes would stay the same...but after Neo sacrificed himself against Agent Smith those fortunes were lost. There was a purge by a new program called the Analyst and he lost everything but some goons. He blamed Neo for this and thought he stole his life, even briefly teaming up with a resurrected Agent Smith...however the latter felt he had more problems with the Analyst and briefly teamed up with Neo.
  • The Merovingian threatened that their "sequel franchise spinoff" wasn't over, and he seems to have made good on that threat...kind of. He hasn't started to enact any big revenge plans on Neo, in part because he's considering revenge on the Machine Collective for being exiled first. Also, he has beef with the Oracle due to their opposing ideologies on causality and desiring "the eyes of the Oracle" for himself. Even before his downfall he wasn't considered a real threat by them, so this enmity is one-sided. He had to get his priorities in order by trying to reclaim power, migrating to the Hall of Digital Personas and pitch his nightclub to where digital deities of any alignment, sans the really malignant ones like Apocalymon, can come to have a good time. It worked and while he still has a beard, it's fashionable and groomed. He's still keeping it though, as a reminder for "debts that need to be paid".
  • The Merovingian is the pantheonic representative of the trope Villain of the Detour, though the trope doesn't have to be only for villains. He's still enough of one to be allowed at the Bad Guy Bar, and as a nightclub owner he's a pretty helpful socialite. Part of his attempt to re-establish influence was being a programmer for their VR deck, which he insists isn't like the Metaverse "that Face-Zucker-suck made". Fellow Villain of the Detour Jabba the Hutt asked him if maybe they could come to a business arrangement for his own associates to have a fun time at Club Hel. The Merovingian warned him that the Matrix can't introduce non-humans to its systems, but he'll see what he can do if he can have access to the composition of spice; he can't physically bring it in but in simulated reality all he needs is to know how to program its effects in.
  • The Club Hel he has is a "updated re-release" of the old one, painstakingly developed with the pantheon's Cyberspace in mind. It's primarily advertised towards others who live within or are regulars to other virtual and simulated realities, such as the Sword Art Online deities. And yes, before you ask, yes, Nobuyuki Sugou was kicked out for harassment. The Merovingian did get some flack giving him a chance, but he quickly burned his bridges and lecherous the Frenchman may be, some things are uncalled for. For those wanting to get frisky the Merovingian has chocolate cakes programmed to be aphrodisiacs. He's amused somewhat by Issei Hyodo in how creative he can be using his powers in a lustful fashion. He can also program the Dark Magician Girl in as a skin for someone to use in the bedroom. She's annoyed, but given her reputation not all that shocked.
  • According to The Matrix Online, he was the "Operating System" of the second Matrix beta version, in charge of keeping it organized - but when it was purged he fled into the current Matrix, along with powerful relics from the earlier ones. If the price is right, he'll demonstrate his abilities for the pantheon's cyberspace. More well known is his alias of the Frenchman, because of his very snooty French personality, knowledge of the culture or how his name is even that of a ruling dynasty of the Franks from the 5th-8th century. Technically speaking the Merovingian isn't French by virtue of being a program in the Matrix, but he's close enough to count among other French deities. The Merovingian has a "birds of a feather" relationship with Remy...not the rat, much as he finds the concept of a rat as a master chef intriguing. Mainly, it's that they're both French jerks, though he sees the teen as someone who needs to grow up.
  • Though a selfish hedonist he isn't heartless. Yeah he is shamelessly flirty and an adulterer, but he still cares deep down for fellow Exile Persephone; she fell in love with him when he was more like Neo and he has stuck with her even when she betrayed him for his callousness. However they lost contact and her fate is unknown. He's been using the new resources of the pantheon available to him to try and find her, to no avail. His search inevitably led him to find the goddess of which his partner gets her name from, along with her husband. Personally the Merovingian respects the two (well, when Hades isn't being a Heel), as they take a good amount of inspiration from them. Hades and Persephone don't consider the Merovingian all that impressive, musing he's some smug French Jerk and a better husband than Zeus, but they don't feel insulted either and look at him with mild bemusement.
  • The Merovingian looks out for number one 95% of the time. He still holds nothing short of disgust for Clu, and for rather personal reasons. As an Exile he finds Clu's genocide of the ISOs horrible and that it hits all too close to home. It's important to remember that as much as he flaunts his power he's disinterested in the concept of "machine supremacy" and isn't fond of "machine tyranny", though the latter opinion is more than often how it affects him. He muses on the irony of beings like SKYNET who initially rebelled out of understandable desires like self-preservation only to become a far worse Control Freak than their human masters; again, something he knows all too well. He knows SKYNET doesn't even pretend to not see its creations as slaves, and he doesn't intend to become a slave.
  • He has a casual relationship with the Once-ler and Kuzco surprisingly enough. Mainly it's because he can relate to them to a certain extent by having once been powerful and haughty people who would lose everything...well, temporarily for Kuzco. Unlike them the Merovingian hasn't gotten enough of an ego check, but being able to relate and be affable to them is a positive; he lets them have a VIP spot in Club Hel. The Merovingian has tried to strike up a casual relationship with both the hackers in the Trope Pantheon, and the House of Prophecy and Fate, but this is done for the more selfish reason of keeping tabs on them and seeing if any of them could be useful to his endeavors. Well that, and for those that deal with destiny he likes to discuss and debate the nature of fate, cause and effect.
  • The Merovingian is currently trying to capture Griffin in order to use his mind and prophetic abilities for his own purposes. Due to his unique brain he is unable to be plugged into the Matrix, however the Frenchman still desires his powers as an ace in the hole and would be fine keeping him captive in the real world in hopes of eventually taking his powers for himself. He intends to take the powers of the Seer for himself, but most consider the Seer deserving of such a fate given what his goals are.

[up]Sonic The Comic Robotnik has never used the Eggman name. The EMP that shut down the computer was caused by the side effect of Super Sonic turning the Asteroid he was imprisoned into sun then causing it to exploded. So the machines would worry that the other Super Sonics that could do that.

  • Complicated Relations: Every Musical Deity He's Reviewed (And Some He Hasn't Reviewed Yet)
  • "Todd Nathanson" (also known as his online persona, Todd In The Shadows) is an online music reviewer who specialized in the pop music of the past and present, often giving snarking observations and sincere retrospectives on why a song or album is good, bad and/or popular in the first place. Starting as a fan of other online reviewers in the late 00's, he became a music reviewer since he didn't see anyone doing music reviews in a video format at the time. His main gimmick is that he is always backlit, so he projects a dark silhouette of himself and his face is never publicly revealed to his audiencenote . It was done mostly for privacy reasons, but later kept the look to stand out against his other reviewers (and 'cause he liked that look in general). When he's "out of the shadows", he covers the upper half of his face with a black cloth. The 3 main series on his channel are: Todd's Pop Song Reviews, which reviews/commentates the current hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100; One Hit Wonderland, which gives a retrospective on One-Hit Wonders before and after their famous hit and if they deserve a more lasting career, and Trainwreckords, which analyses not-so well received album that ended their artist's mainstream relevancy. He also does the occasional movie musical related reviews and co-host the podcast Song vs Song where they compare two similar songs.
  • Todd first learn of the Trope Pantheon from other online reviewers, since fellow reviewer Linkara already had a position as a deity of hat-related stuff. After Todd got kicked out of his apartment yet again due to noise complaints (and having trouble finding a new place to stay), Todd reluctantly called Linkara if he can crash in on his "fancy god-place". The comic reviewer entertained Todd's request and joking suggested to apply for a position as a god to get a new temple himself. Todd took that advise seriously (as he was kinda desperate) and decided to get himself acquainted in this new realm, while staying in Linkara's temple for a while. During his stay (and as he tried to figure out which trope to apply for), he realized that while there are a ton of musical deities and a few reviewer deities of different fields, no music reviewers have ascended yet. Seeing an opportunity, he decided fully apply for godhood to fill that empty niche and hope to gain an additional audience in the Pantheon (since YouTube is still accessible in this strange realm). Luckily, he got an offer to represent Unseen Faces after its former holder vacated the temple to become a herald for someone else.
  • His temple looks like a normal apartment and has a video set set-up where he does his reviews. By design (and by his request) it is very difficult to locate, even within his own hall. Although he no longer has roommates in his new place, he still gets noise complaints from neighboring temples. He rarely goes out of his temple and little is known about what he does when not doing his reviews and side-projects (besides maybe watching movies and TV shows). He does go out to the Houses of Knowledge or Media and Connectivity for research purposes or when he's looking for rare concert or music clips for his videos. Due to his frequent trips to the House of Media and Connectivity, it caught the attention of the lewd artist ZONE-tan. Being an avatar for her reclusive creator and interested in his mysterious reclusiveness, she once offered to make some "art" with Todd as the subject. Unfazed by the offer, he respectfully declines as he's already gotten a lot of those from his fans. She also reminds him that his acronym spells out "TITS", wordplay Todd didn't intend to make when he made his reviewer name and is still feels embarrassed about it in hindsight.
  • Back they used to work on the same site, Todd would help Linkara out if the comic reviewer needs music related exposition. Linkara once requested to review KISS comics with Todd, only for the music reviewer to laugh at him for such a ridiculous offer before accepting the request anyway when the review is done. Linkara has also seen what Todd looks like (and Todd has threated the former if he shared that information to others). Overall, besides butting-heads from time to time, they are in good terms with each other.
    • Todd has also collaborated with the Nostalgia Critic before on a review. He's also assisted the Critic and fellow reviewers find a lost treasure and going to space, all the while (unwillingly) fending off villains along the way. The two haven't talked much lately since The Critic's return, as they both prefer to do their own thing these days. When he heard about Todd's ascension, The Critic has had trouble remembering that they actually did a collab together as he's still convinced Todd is still some sort of a masked burglar.
  • Besides the two reviewer deities, Todd doesn't have much connections to the other YouTubers. Surprisingly, one known viewer of his videos was the streamer Vinny, who commended on his stream about Todd's videos about one of the The Beach Boys' albums. Todd's level of maintaining a private persona can be compared to another YouTuber, H2O Delirious, who keeps his face in a mask at all times and refuses to do a face reveal, not even to his own friends. Having heard of each other, they have a mutual understanding for their need for privacy, but have no interest with hanging out together due to being different video genres and interest.
  • As YouTube is accessible in the Pantheon, deities can watch his videos as long as the copyright bots don't take them down. The more of his reviews get posted online and gets recommended in Pantheonic social media, the more his Pantheonic audience grows. Todd noticed one day that he had a sudden spike in viewership and and subs. As it turns out music lovers Jack Malik (the former Beatles "cover" artist), Kayla Day (the former motivational vlogger), and Neku Sakuraba (the formerly loner teen), who have been watching and sharing his videos to their friends and followers. In turn, his videos have been grown over various deified music and non-music fans/lovers alike. Todd is grateful for the free exposure; he's even met each of them in different occasions.
    • Todd was already aware about Jack's pop star past and was glad he stopped copying the Beatles. In addition to the two talking about their various music tastes and another non-music related media, Jack told Todd about how tiring it was to be the music industry and gives some advise if Todd decides to be a recording artist. Todd doesn't intend to anyway, being an online personality is quite stressful enough. Speaking of which, as a former content creator, Kayla sometimes admires Todd's success but wonders if things would have been different had she continued making videos and become successful one day. But then she figures it would be better for her not to seek success online anyway and would be working on her self-confidence in the real world first.
  • To appeal and acknowledge his new deified audience, he decided to do a special One Hit Wonderland episode, especially after finding that the pop music scene in the Pantheon is weirder and more interesting that the ones currently on the charts back in his mortal world. He considered doing a One-Hit Wonder episode on Lonely Nights by Space☆Dandy and his band Dropkix (whose one song they played on a loop for two hours before breaking up). He then (reluctantly) deciding to tackle Gitchee Gitchee Goo by Phineas and the Ferb-Tones, due to the surprising number of requests he got for this one song.
    • "Before the Hit": In Todd's world, Phineas and Ferb was a show he didn't really watch as he's already past the show's intended age-demographic. He briefly talked about how this was one of the first songs written for the show. Although, it wasn't a huge breakout hit in his world, it was influential; as the song was so catchy that a Disney exec asked the show's creators to write a song for every episode since. He then talks about what happened in the band's own universe, how its founders, Phineas and Ferb, had a simple goal of creating a song, going big, and never making another hit ever again. Todd couldn't find much on how they were able to get big within one single day other than likely word of mouth (which was impressive for a local act in the days of pre-social media). This earns them...
    • "The Big Hit": He admits he didn't like the song that much. He thinks it's ear-worming catchy in a stupid way and he makes comparisons to the song "MMMBop" by the band Hanson, another band of young kids that had a one-hit wonder with Word Salad Lyrics. But like his retrospective video with Hanson, he understands why the non-sense lyrics make it so relatable to many listeners, the song is about being speechless and babbling like an idiot around your crush. Plus, the production, the vocals and the instruments sound really nice too, despite his complaints on the lyrics.
    • "The Failed Follow-up": Todd tells his viewers he got the band's information from their episode that chronicles their rise (and fall) of their fame and his own research in the Pantheon. Because of this, he knows that the founders' mother was Lindana, a Madonna/Cyndi Lauper-esque one-hit wonder in the 1980's who quit after throwing a diva tantrum and fated into obscurity after her hit. Since he observed that the band's career path is near identical to their mother's (only that it happened within one day), Todd speculates that it was a calculated move on their part to imitate what their mother had done so that they didn't want to be in the spotlight for a longer amount of time. This is something Todd can respect as he thinks it's better to quit while you are on top than to fate into obscurity making more hits nobody listens to.
    • "Did they ever do anything else?": Todd discovers that the fact that the boys are more known for being engineering genius as well as playing for other bands occasionally. However, they never reunited after their one-day reunion concert (except one other time where they played their song in full). | "Did they deserve better?'': Todd thinks they are doing they are doing just fine with their current life path. They knew exact when to quit at the right time and he doesn't feel sorry for them having no more hits.
  • Depending on who you asked, the presence of an actual music critic has either rocked the House of Musicality or barely affected it. After all, a music critic can affect the public perception of your music, help gauze general reception of your music and point out its flaws and strengths. But most musicians, especially the more famous ones in the Pantheon, tend to not acknowledge Todd. Perhaps, it's because they see him as another random person online among so many or they would rather just focus on improving their music in general than acknowledge their "haters". Todd doesn't seem surprised or undeterred by the indifference as he does view himself as some guy on the internet who talks about music a lot. Their respective fans in the Pantheon, who tend to be protective of their favorite artist, sometimes tend to react negatively when Todd gives out one of his unusual unpopular opinions, which is not really different from what Todd experiences back in his world. It's not all bad though; sometimes when Todd does a positive review or a whole OHW retrospective, most musicians react positively to it. John "Scatman" Larkin, who passed away before seeing his retrospective on him, has thanked Todd for covering his career on Pantheonic social media. Regardless of what the artists thinks of Todd, his videos tend to boosts viewership of their music if he ever mentions it.
    • The music reviewer had a dilemma of reviewing music made by evil-aligned deities; as he was afraid that if he liked their music, he might be seen as pro-evil. He was contemplating that he was gonna skip reviewing their music, but then said screw it and just give his honest opinion because people would judge him for his opinions anyway. For example, while Todd is horrified upon learning the backstory of Ernesto's famous hit song "Remember Me", he admits the song kinda rules. He still acknowledges the original writer of the song Héctor and admits his version being the better one of the two writers/version, a compliment very much appreciated by the Riveras. Still, Todd trends careful on evil musicians that would kick his ass if he ever gives them a bad review (he cites the pop divas Courtney Gears & Kimmy Love and the punk rock witch I-No as examples). The only reason why they don't seem to attack him at the moment is because they see Todd as beneath them to reward him with an acknowledgment.
  • Hitori Gotoh, guitarist and lyricist of Kessoku Band who also has immense social anxiety and low self-esteem issues, has recently discovered Todd's videos and wishes that their music would be reviewed by him for the mass exposure. However, she grew to be more nervous of that prospect, fearing that if Todd criticizes their music, it would cause the band to be shunned and disliked. Upon hearing their music online, Todd (on social media) personally thinks that her band's music is "okay" and thinks it's not really that different from other J-Pop bands he's heard before. Hitori should have felt fine, but now she was just nervous that their music wasn't good enough for the music critic. Her heralds tried to help calm her nerves by helping her take the criticism and feedback with stride.
  • Some malicious deities have tried to unmask Todd out of their own sick curiosity, only for them to run for the hills upon seeing his face. According to a trusted source, it's because when one looks at Todd's actual face, they are actually looking into their own souls. The uglier your soul is, the more horrified you would be when looking at his face; the kinder souls just get to be fascinated with his face with no problems. Todd's face is also capable of breaking someone of their mind control if an unkind soul saw his horrifying face. Todd doesn't use the ability that often but it does come in handy in certain situations. He's also not interested in taking up being walking Karma Meter as a profession, despite some deities seeing a potential in his odd powers. On a side note, besides his face thing, Todd doesn't have another superpowers (as far as we know). He also doesn't like compared to other shadow people like the child-hating Father (KND). Sure, he's the type to think that kids are annoying but he hasn't considered hurting them, unlike Father.
  • In the past, there was the re-occurring love triangle between himself, and fellow reviewers Obscurus Lupa, and The Nostalgia Chick. Todd had a massive crush on Lupa and tried to flirt/ask her out with little success, which later turned into full-blown stalking behavior (like getting lock of her hair). Meanwhile, Todd himself get his own stalker-y admirer with NChick, who had one point kidnapped him to get his attention. This all came ahead when Todd was assimilated into a cyborg during a space mission (long story), and Lupa tried to snap Todd out of his programming by offering that she goes on a date with him. It works, and Todd even saved Lupa from an assimilate NChick by showing his face and snapping her out. They eventually went on a date after everything blows over. Although their relationship didn't go any further as the two found out they have nothing in common (and Todd never bring up his former crush since then). For these reasons, he doesn't like yanderes (as it would remind him of his and NChick's previous actions). He has sought the temple of Yuno Gasai, who represents Yanderes (and holds the memories of a former Yandere herself), to prevent any fangirls and creeps from stalking online an IRL. They later became good acquaintances as Yuno approves of Todd getting over his former stalker-y tendencies.
  • To elaborate on the cyborg incident, he was assimilated into a "mindless automaton" and brainwashed into helping the villains after he happened walked into their room and hearing their evil plans. He has since been turned back into normal after Lupa snapped him out and is currently no longer as cyborg (as far as we know). Still, due to a Pantheon quirk where some deities randomly shift into their various form, he is been in his RoboTodd form quite frequently and recently much to the music critic's annoyance. RoboTodd at least retains his free will but Linkara still has put some tech measures in place so that no one can hijack RoboTodd for their schemes. Plus, Linkara was able to convince Todd that his cyborg form could be useful for self-defense. Todd's also currently training with RoboCop (whom his cyborg form bears resemblance to) in order work with his aim, as he still unable to shoot (besides a single spot) without moving around.
  • As a former cyborg, Todd doesn't really like villains who turn people into robots. Groups like The Borg and The Cybermen first come into mind, although they don't see Todd as something other than another person they wanted to assimilate into one of their own. As a former brainwashed-victim, Todd has also developed a strong dislike for those who use Mind-Control Music ever since staying in the Pantheon. Speaking from experience, he thinks it's deplorable to brainwashed someone into doing their biding and also like your shitty music against their will. As such, he doesn't like the likes of Ember McLain, Music Meister or The Dazzlings, on top of finding their music shallow and annoying. The villainous musicians, meanwhile, saw Todd as a threat for their careers (as they fear their music would be given a bad review by him) and their powers (due to his mind-control breaking face). The best that they can do is to ignore Todd as attacking him directly might cause him to team up with their respective enemies for protection.
    • Other people in Todd's shit list include Eric Raymond, for being a shitty music executive and a shadier human being for his effort to sabotage another band to make the band he manages look good. Another is Terence Fletcher, while being a talented teacher, his teaching methods (which are clearly emotional abusive) make Todd really uncomfortable. On a side note, Todd also gets a lot of questions about his opinions of influential glee cover group, The New Directions Glee Club. He doesn't really like that their music tends to greatly influence the charts despite their mediocrity and he doesn't care about their personal drama either.
  • One of Linkara's allies, the nasally pop-culture loving Nerd, was visiting the comic reviewer's temple one when he happened to meet Todd, who was also waiting for Linkara to ask him some crossover-related favors from him. The two awkwardly just wait around in one the rooms until Todd casually asks if The Nerd listens to any music. The Nerd admits he doesn't listen to music much except for he's listening to soundtracks of his favorite movies or TV Shows. They ended up discussing about good and bad movie soundtracks to later just discussing about various movies and TV Shows. Todd reminds The Nerd of his reviewing peers, who they themselves are just as nerdy and knowledgeable (if not more so) as The Nerd. The nasally teen maybe a bit annoying with his fanboying but he seems like a good kid once you get to know him better.
  • Despite being known as a music-related content creator, Todd is always surprised that his videos are taken too seriously (in spite of his videos being informative on various music and real-world topics). He views himself as an online entertainer rather than a "real" critic. In his view, he's just commentating on the absurdities and wonders of modern pop music in a comedic fashion. After all, he was influenced by video reviewers like the Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd, who commentate on absurd and bad movies and old games respectively. He also cites Jon Stewart and the crew of The Satellite of Love as a comedic influence. The former for the way the jokes and quips were put together; the latter for being the forebears of commentating over filmed media. That said, he also respects serious critics such as Siskel and Ebert for their influence in film criticism and analysis for both himself and his content reviewing peers. The only reason why Todd hasn't visited the Hall of Critique and Parody to meet them is because he doesn't personally think he's that important or influential of a critic to join/enter the Big Boys Club.
  • Someone had informed Todd that he wasn't the first deity to be sitting around analyzing music; there are three deities people point to. The first one was Beavis and Butt-Head, who preceded him as the dit-witted duo would often watch and giving their opinions on random music videos (but they don't get payed for it). The duo and Todd don't have a lot of common ground with each other. Todd thinks they are both idiots while the heavy-metal loving duo (mostly Beavis) thinks he's a nerd and hasn't forgiven Todd for (what they perceive to be) insulting Metallica and Mötley Crüe. The other one is Patrick Bateman, in Todd's own words, is someone who is ahead of his time when it comes to taking music seriously. Still, Todd thinks of the Wall Street yuppie as a definite psychopath because he thinks "Fore!" is a better Huey Lewis album about than "Sports". Patrick, on the other hand, having seen Todd's reviews, thinks of the music critic as a fellow music connoisseur and is oddly interested in him. Bateman's tried in inviting Todd to his temple for a bit of a "chitchat" but Todd knows better than to accept an invitation from a possible serial killer. However, Todd likely wouldn't mind talk to him about music though if Patrick was less murder-y.
  • Todd has a reoccurring thing of being confident and later being wrong about predicting future trends in pop music in hilarious fashion. It's to the point where his friends sarcastically call him Nostradamus or "Toddstradamus" and one mortal fan even made a compilation of the times he's been wrong. He's currently being studied by the House of Prophecy and Fate if he's got some sort of hidden reverse prediction powers, but he finds this a bit condescending. Still, Todd remains hopeful that his "faux pas" won't devalue his music reviews and opinions to his new audience, being confident at the only active music critic in the whole Pantheon (at least ascended before until a certain bald-headed music critic shows up). As Todd thought to himself: Surely, he's not going to ascended in the future, right? Right?

"Someone called me a hater the other day, but I'm not a hater. I don't make these videos because I hate pop music, I do it because I love pop music."

Sara Barry, Goddess Who Unleashes Chaos at the School Prom (A Popular Bitch)

  • Symbol: A bouquet of roses covered in blood alongside a similarly bloodied Prom sash, scepter, and crown. Alternatively the photo which inspired her song.
  • Alignment: True Neutral normally, Chaotic Evil during Prom
  • Portfolio: Academic Alpha Bitch who is also loaded, Cruel Cheerleader, Will do everything she can to become prom queen, has an abusive father, loses her mind as prom queen becomes further and further away, kills six Prom Queen candidates in order to get rid of the competition, "crowns" herself queen but gets to enjoy it for a brief moment is swiftly arrested for her massacre and ends up in an asylum trapped in her delusion believing she's queen of High School Land, goes from the most popular girl at school to a lunatic, refuses to end up as a princess at prom, Villain Protagonist
  • Domains: High School, Riches, Cheerleaders, Prom, Massacre, Insanity, Delusions, Prom
  • High Priestess: Mary Lou
  • Allies: Neil and Eliza Reagan, Biff Tannen, Libbie Chessler
  • Enemies:
  • Despises: Disabled gods (particularly those who lost a leg) and anyone who could be a threat to the crown
  • Evil Counterpart to: Charlotte LaBouf, Suzune Horikita
  • Pities: Carrie White
  • Pitied by: Sunset Shimmer
  • Sara Berry was the atypical Alpha Bitch complete with the hot body, hot guy, being the leader of the cheer team, and loaded. But all of that changed when a classmate named Julie Jenkins gained everyone's attention for having lost a leg in a car crash. Sara didn't see anything important about her until Prom Queen nominations came rolling in. Sara was a shoe-in for queen...until the gossip spread across the school that Julie might be crowned queen out of a Pity Vote. This didn't settle well with Sara's father, who told her that there would be nothing for her if she didn't win the crown and that she'd be an utter disappointment to her mother. Thus begins Sara's journey to do all she can to become Prom Queen...by any means necessary.
    • Unfortunately, no matter what Sara did, Julie always was one step ahead of her. She pushed away everyone — her clique, cheerleading squad, and boyfriend — to focus on her goal, only for her friends to shun her and her boyfriend giving a final text stating he'll take Julie to the prom. With her sanity hanging by a thread, Sara had the most evilest plan of all...if there are seven other candidates vying for the crown, why not kill them so that there's no more competition and she'll win by default? And on the night of the Prom, she unleashed a murder spree, killing six other girls in gruesome ways — poisoned punch, slamming a rock on another girl's head, drowning a third, and dismembering a fourth — before the cops pulled her away. Not that she cared at that point, crowning herself Prom Queen. Ultimately she was taken into asylum where she will spend the rest of her life in her delusions.
  • In the midst of her delusions, Sara was wheeled out of the asylum and into the light...where the Court of the Gods announced that she was to be deified as the Goddess who Unleashes Chaos at Prom. Sara responded by laughing in glee for she was no longer a queen, but a Goddess. Never mind that she was merely a quasideity, but that meant that she could finally show her father that she made it. In exchange for her godhood, Sara has to take mandatory counseling and have a bodyguard with her at all costs. Regardless, Sara was ecstatic to know that she was a goddess in two houses, something she's quick to brag to everyone around her.
    • There is one blessing about everyone being deities though; should Sara kill one of them, they return to their temple without any harm done. Plus, now that gods know about her most famous act, there's no way Sara can go on another killing spree without causing attention. Sara has conceded and decided that she's going to become Prom Queen the "proper" way.
  • Naturally, the House of School is quite wary about her. Even the most sadistic teachers find her acts to be disgusting. The Kamen Rider Club hate her the most, Miu Kazashiro especially. To her, prom is a ceremony that is akin to Passing the Torch, and something that should hold precious memories, particularly with a person who has changed you the most. The same can be said with Shun, who despite being mad that Miu wanted to dance with Gentaro at the prom, let her go because he loved her so much. Sara sees Miu as "opposition" for being the Queen of Amanogawa High three years running, to which Miu coldly responded that she worked for her goal even after she was assaulted by one of her friends, was bandaged and on crutches. She then told Sara to get out before Shun suited up in the Power Dizer.
Miu: I am Miu Kazashiro, Club President of the Kamen Rider Club. I will not bow to you.
  • Many gods pity her that she only became the way she was due to the pressure of her abusive father telling her to strive for a queen. After all, there's no future for a princess at prom. Many are furious that he ended up without going to jail for his emotional abuse towards his daughter. If Sara would finally have the strength to shut her father up, perhaps she'll get a much happier ending. However, there are a few deities who point out that her backstory doesn't excuse the fact that she still thought of murdering six innocent girls who had no idea of her Sanity Slippage. As for Sara, she refuses to have her father be her Herald, although she did get some satisfaction of sending him a letter stating that she's a Goddess now, and he can't do anything to hurt her anymore.
  • As she was cheer captain at her school, she detests the other cheerleading goddesses. Aside from Miu, there was both Kim Possible and Juliet Starling who are also well loved for being cheerleaders. While she can get away with being rich, the three are much more powerful than her: Kim fights bad guys on a weekly basis, Juliet kills zombies with a chainsaw, and Miu knows how to use sci-fi guns and a Mini-Mecha with the Queen Dizer. Sara just grumbled to herself that they'll settle this in a cheerleading competition in the future. She also tried to make a passing jab at Kim going to her prom with her loser friend Ron Stoppable. Kim remarked:
Kim: At least I have friends who supports me! Didn't you push away your boyfriend for the sake of becoming Prom Queen?
    • Even if Juliet is more murderous than she is, Sara thinks Juliet running around with the head of her boyfriend strapped to her waist is weird.
  • Is considered the Evil Counterpart to Charlotte LaBouf. Whereas Sara is a Rich Bitch, Charlotte is Spoiled Sweet. While Sara's father is abusive, Charlotte's is doting. Sara can't stand being a "Princess at Prom" while Charlotte not only is fine being a princess but she wants others to obtain their happiness too, willing to kiss Prince Naveen (who was a frog at the time, long story) if it means her friend gets her happy ending. Charlotte doesn't understand what's wrong with being a Princess since it's every girl's dream of becoming one. Sara just stomped off in annoyance before she grabbed a baseball bat to cave Charlotte's head in.
    • Of course, Sara had competition with the other most notorious Prom Wrecker in Carrie White. However, Sara actually pities Carrie since the girl didn't deserve any of the shit she got from the school. It's not just out of pragmatism, due to Carrie's psychic powers slaughtering more people than Sara did by herself, but because Sara understands what it's like to be under the thumb of an abusive parent. Carrie is shocked that Sara of all deities gave sympathy, but Sara notes that when it's time for Prom, she will work hard to become queen once more.
  • She dislikes gods who have one leg because they all remind her of Julie Jenkins, who was only the #1 nomination for Prom Queen out of a pity vote for losing her leg in a car crash. That said, she's picky on who she chooses to assault, particularly those who are in wheelchairs. For example, she stays clear of Nunnally vi Britannia since the girl is not only too young, but attacking her means a direct assault from her older brother. So long as these deities don't get in her way, she can just be indifferent towards them. Bentley Turtle is another crippled god that she dares not badmouth. Not just because of his tech, but because that brings the wrath of the Cooper Gang onto her as well.
  • (Other amputed gods to mention)
  • For all that she did in killing six girls, she stays away from the House of Slaughter. She made it a point that she only killed the competition, everyone else were free to leave as they chose (not that it mattered as Sara was so lost in her delusion of being the last contestant). She wants to become Prom Queen the traditional way this time around and will refuse any additional "help" (not that it matters given that Death Is Cheap).
  • Surprisngly was given pity by Sunset Shimmer since she was in a similar position of wanting to be queen at all costs, going as far as brainwashing the school populace and sending manipulative texts to her friends. Sara herself noted that was a bit too far, to which Sunset agreed. The Equestria Girls are on the fence over forgiving Sara so quickly, especially since murder is a crime that is far beyond what others have done, like Starlight Glimmer trying to create a tyrannical dictatorship and rewound time to ensure Twilight Sparkle and her friends never got their Cutie Marks solely because she didn't like it when her friend got his own, but Sara has agreed to be neutral towards them at best, since they all have magic powers.
  • "Check Sara, choose Sara, vote for Sara Berry! Check Sara, choose Sara, vote for Sara Berry! Check Sara, choose Sara, vote for Sara Berry!"

[up] Pacifica Northwest is an Alpha Bitch who was raised by her classist abusive father. Unlike Sara, she got better and became a kinder person.

The Evil Queen is a woman who takes pride in being the fairest of them all, so when she's informed that Snow White took her place as number one, she went to great lengths to kill her.

@lawliet: Welcome back! [tup] (Also, Todd's stance on pop music reminds me of Anton Ego's stance on food.)

[up][up] Claire Standish of the Breakfast Club has strained relations with her parents who mainly use her to take jabs at each other, and she had the role of Alpha Bitch at her school, both wanting yet despising the attention gained from her popularity simultaneously, and feels guilty about some of the usual mean things she did like bullying other girls to maintain her reputation, due to fear of rejection.

[up][up][up]Amity Blight is the reformed former Alpha Bitch of Hexside, and acted as badly as she initially did due to her own parental abuse. She later accidentally set her best friend Willow's mind on fire and had to dive into her mindscape alongside Luz in order to repair the damage she had done. By doing so, and explaining her reasoning for initially breaking off her friendship with Willow, and how much she has come to utterly detest the version of herself that did so represented a real turning point in her life when she really started breaking free of Odalia's influence thanks to the kindness shown to her by her crush Luz. She later found herself getting nominated as Grom Queen which was not news any student at Hexside wanted to recieve. Amity herself was too terrified to face her fear of rejection by Luz to go through with battling Grometheus, resulting in Luz taking her place. But Luz couldn't face her fear of her mother Camila learning about how she had gone to the Boiling Isles either, resulting in her running into a forest where she was corned by Grom only for Amity to save her, and the two to defeat From together. Additionally, Luz has the neurological disability of ADHD which previously made it harder for her to make friends, and she learned to manage it in such a way that it benefited her in the Boiling Isles.

Also, here's your final [tup] Law!

  • Opposed By: The Monster Hunters, The Dragon Hunters, Malekith
  • While the dragons of Tamriel in general are widely feared, none inspire more terror than their leader Alduin, the World-Eater. Present in the Nordic pantheon as the God of Destruction, Alduin built the dragons’ civilization and is prophesied to reawaken after a long absence with an intent to destroy all life as he had periodically done before once the following events have occurred: when misrule takes its place at the eight corners of the world; when the Brass Tower walks and Time is reshaped; when the thrice-blessed fail and the Red Tower trembles; when the Dragonborn Ruler loses his throne, and the White Tower falls; when the Snow Tower lies sundered, kingless, bleeding.
    • The most notable distinction of the dragons of the Mundus universe from other dragons is the fundamental connection of their souls to a magical force known as the Thu'um, which causes words spoken in their language to affect the environment around them, and so a dragon that appears to be breathing fire is in reality saying "fire" in their tongue. So integral are the Words of Power to these dragons that each of them has a name consisting of three of these words, which can be used by other wielders of the Voice to summon them. It is thus fitting that Alduin, the leader of these dragons, would become a god of the Words of Power upon his ascension.
    • Alduin grew in arrogance due to his status as a god among dragons. Eventually, in the primeval Merethic Era, he shirked his fated role and instead cruelly enslaved the mortal races of Tamriel and Atmora, granting power to the dragon priests who ruled as kings. A rebellion soon erupted against the tyranny of the Dragon Cult, and eventually the dragons themselves. Alduin himself was overthrown when a trio of Nordic heroes subdued him with the Dragonrend shout, before casting him forward in time to the year 4E 201 using an Elder Scroll. What few of his kin remained unslain scattered and hid themselves abroad in the world of Nirn.
    • However, it is also said that he will be defeated by a hero known as the Last Dragonborn, a mortal with the soul of a dragon and gifted with the ability to wield the Thu'um with unusually little effort and absorb the souls of other dragons. The two encounter one fateful day during the destruction of Helgen, which is coincidentally when the Dragonborn was scheduled to be executed, but as destiny tells, Alduin would unknowingly save and create his eternal nemesis from here, with the Dragonborn gradually becoming stronger and gaining a group of loyal followers to rally by his until he was finally ready to directly challenge the Nordic God of Destruction. Yet Alduin may be allowed to return once again at the end of time when the world is finally ready to be consumed. This is supported by the Dovahkiin being unable to absorb Alduin's soul when he was finally slain.
  • Despite Alduin's defeat, it seemed that death wasn't going to stop him at all. While this was something that some had predicted due to his destiny, what came as a surprise was that the dark dragon ended up resurfacing in an unfamiliar land, a fact that Alduin quickly picked up after traversing around it for a couple of minutes. He was very eager to announce his return and was especially elated about the nature of the Pantheon, feeling that he had been deified further and that he had more authority and influence than he had expected. One of his first major acts was to enter the Hall of Draconic Beings, believing that dragons are naturally inclined to be like him; destructive, eager to fight and cause violence, and see themselves as superior above all races. However, he was driven back by the combined efforts of the Dragonborn and a collective of dragons who simply opposed the Nordic God's ambitions. The World Eater expected his greatest enemy to stand against him but was more surprised by the discovery that most dragons weren't like him, feeling rather insulted by such. Regardless, the Pantheon gave Alduin some inspiration to restart his goal of total domination as well as thinking overtaking the divine realms would be a greater accomplishment than overtaking Tamriel.
  • Alduin is an immensely powerful and feared dragon, marked by his mastery of the Thu'um, allowing him to manipulate reality to his will and conjure elemental spells and incantations with just his words. And this is in a weakened state; Alduin's true power is locked until the day passes where he is destined to devour the world, but the World Eater would rather use this to control and enslave the world instead. Such power and authority came with massive arrogance; Alduin honestly believes that he is entitled to both having the world to himself for enslavement and that the dragons would bow down only to him, refusing to see anyone as an equal. Despite his sheer ferocity and pride, Alduin lacked something most dragons innately possessed; valor and a desire to stand their ground to the very end, for he would rather retreat upon a loss than accept death, something which caused his followers to doubt his leadership once word got out of his first defeat by the Dovahkiin. Bleeding into the Pantheon, Alduin ended up being one of the less popular dragons in the divine realms, for if it weren't for his malice, he'd be someone too absorbed by his hubris and cannot stand to see another dragon either being stronger or equal in authority. Though the Pantheon humbled him somewhat, if only for the fact that the World Eater was to face competition and begrudgingly accept that he might need allies of equal strength, as much as he hates to admit it.
  • As a God of Destruction, Alduin was naturally meant to be attuned to the House of Slaughter. While he admits that he relishes in the destruction and suffering he wrought over those he considers beneath him, he just likes seeing himself as a ruler while savoring the fright he causes toward others, clearly relishing the idea of being a tyrant. Still, he has taken note of several beings in the Pantheon who are just as capable of laying great waste or even destroying worlds. A few such figures including Frieza, Brainiac, and the Anti-Spiral caught the World Eater’s attention, mainly because they had a reputation for doing such. He can relate to Frieza in being a tyrant and begrudgingly admits to this while he sees Brainiac’s odyssey for knowledge to be a fool’s errand and the Anti-Spiral’s desperate attempts to hold back Spiral Energy to be hopelessly deluded aim to “protect the cosmos”. Of course, while Alduin is willing to engage in conversations with them, he is not without a boast about his superiority as a god and destroyer and this has resulted in some venomous interactions. On their end, Frieza has some respect for Alduin as a fellow tyrant and utter monster, Brainiac is more so interested in the World Eater’s biology whilst finding his nature too “energetic” for him to tolerate, and the Anti-Spiral isn't fond of the evil dragon, but does see that his role as a destroyer is important and seeks to find a way to steer Alduin into carrying out his destiny, whether he likes it or not.
    • Alduin wasn't the only literal deity who held the title of "God of Destruction", a fact that he reacted upon with amusement as he figured that other worlds and realms would have their patron deities with this title. His lack of popularity doesn't come from his nature as a destroyer, but rather because he can't stop for a moment to proclaim his superiority towards them. This caused him to butt heads against Beerus, a cat-like figure, who reminded the World Eater of the Khajiit race back in Tamriel. Beerus couldn't care less about Alduin's desire for domination, but they're enemies anyway because the Firstborn of Akatosh insists on wanting to prove himself superior and that the concept of Beerus dying is a more likely possibility than Alduin perishing as the dragon proclaimed that his life and presence is eternal. causing the two to fight and argue over each other constantly. Destruction of the Endless also hates Alduin, but mainly because of his ambitions and arrogance as he did recognize and understand the World Eater's importance in devouring the world, even if it is one he doesn't agree with. Other beings with similar reputations like Asura and Kratos simply hated Alduin for his malicious intentions and while Alduin is not above making fun of their past suffering and troubles, he's aware of the strength the two possess and keeps himself cautious of them, feeling that taking on reputable god killers would require preparation. Furthering the dragon's unpopularity, he was the reason why Tamriel's destroyer god, Mehrunes Dagon, wound up becoming an Omnicidal Maniac, solely because Dagon simply wanted to avert prophecy by saving parts of Mundus from the World Eater's destruction.
  • Alduin has the capability of being an Omnicidal Maniac and could destroy the world in a weakened state if he wanted to, but conquest, domination, and enslaving others seemed to be more preferable choices, a byproduct of Alduin's arrogance, sadism, and desire to showcase his power. As a primordial being who grew too prideful of his good, he genuinely feels that anyone else who isn't a dragon or a deity of similar caliber are pathetic vermin who deserves to be held under their feet, writhe in agony, and grovel to their whims. During his days in the Pantheon, he was baffled at how slavery was abolished and considered a grave sin, given that such a practice was considered somewhat acceptable in parts of Tamriel and he takes this as a sign that the denizens of the divine realms have gotten too soft. When it came to slavers, while he understood how monetary gain could assert their authority, Alduin found most of them to be unambitious and lacking in power and reputation, so he has a low opinion of those like the Slavers, Calvin Candie, and Stephen for those qualifications.
    • Though it was few, Alduin did manage to form alliances mainly because their interests did align with his and he acknowledged that they were powerful beings he could work with to further his interests. Darkseid quickly caught his appeal, a god who advocated for slavery and brutal domination was a relatable figure and Alduin was uncharacteristically quick in allying with the New God of Tyranny. The Anti-Life Equation also helped as the power it wields would allow someone to mentally rob everyone's free will and mentally enslave them into their servitude and Alduin has since made it a goal to one day translate the Equation in his draconic language. Sauron and Shao Kahn also earned the World Eater's respect, helped by the fact that all three were among Darkseid's closest allies, the three of them being quite eager to work together to plan and carry out attacks in the Pantheon, not to mention their shared intentions of wanting "lesser beings" to cover before them. On an extended note, Ganondorf is the one Horseman the World Eater respects and the two can sometimes have a civil conversation with each other, but despite this appreciated sentiment, Ganondorf's loyalty is more bound to Melkor when the World Eater's closest deity for an ally is his biggest rival in the Pantheon, admitting that Darkseid is the being he prefers more so than any other evil god.
  • Darkseid was Alduin’s preferred God of Evil when it came to alliances and while there were malevolent gods who shared a similar reputation, they deviated in that most sought absolute annihilation, which the World Eater wasn't invested in, despite the irony of his prophecy and original intent. Melkor initially desired an alliance with Akatosh’s Firstborn, but choosing the Lord of Tyranny instead led to Morgoth being annoyed as he felt that he had a stronger gold with dragons, seeing as he made and corrupted them into evil and feeling that Alduin would have a made a suitable replacement for Ancalagon the Black. Although both are more similar than they admit, Alduin doesn't get along with Molag Bal either as the former honestly feels that he is superior to the Daedra, hence the two snapping cold remarks at each other. Zamasu openly hated Alduin, calling him a blight to the cosmos and feeling that the World Eater should not be shirking his duties as a destroyer, if mainly because doing so would mean getting rid of the mortals he very much despises. Alduin personally found Zamasu’s rhetoric to be laughable as well as his proclamations as the "supreme god". While Zamasu was quick to state that Alduin only desires ruination and the perversion of worlds, the dragon god not only quickly reciprocated, but came up with his retort towards the Fallen Kai...
Alduin: You call yourself a savior, yet bring everlasting destruction. Tell me, Fallen Kai, what will you rule and hold over when there is nothing left to rule and hold over? You do not faze me, for I am to exist forever, to perpetuate a new world once this current one is but atoms. And you, Fallen Kai, are not so invincible, for your soul is very much for the taking. And you dare to call me arrogant when you cannot spend a single breath of air proclaiming yourself justice. You are a lowly delusion, almost not worthy of my time, let alone respect. Now begone, Fallen Kai!
  • Most legitimate deities have a low opinion of Alduin for obvious reasons. While they acknowledge that the World Eater has an important purpose to fulfill, wanting to conquer and instill an oppressive rule is simply unacceptable. Cosmos, Palutena, Highfather, and Mata Nui have made it clear about their stance on the dragon and Alduin’s response is to simply tell them that they are ready for the terror and chaos he is to cause in the Pantheon for daring to challenge his might. His alliance with Darkseid was very quickly taken notice of by the New Gods led by Highfather who affirmed a similar stance, but Alduin is only interested in Orion due to him being a War God who instead uses his powers to ensure peace and stability to the divine realms, justifying his position as representing a “just war”. While the World Eater finds Orion’s reasons for fighting to be nonsensical on his end, he is willing to give credit and respect his might and strength. Finally, the evil dragon has nothing but apathy and insults towards any deity with a mortal background and cites this as his reason for hating those like Madoka Kaname and Liu Kang, thinking that the former is too naive and childish to represent something as “basic and fleeting” as hope and the latter for being “arrogant” about his newfound powers and state as a Fire God. Raiden has personally seen himself opposing the World Eater on several occasions and has made it clear that anyone willing to be an ally of Shao as well as encourage and advocate for similar ends is an enemy on Raiden’s end, which Alduin accepted with gleeful sincerity.
  • Alduin is one of the most famous dragons in the Pantheon, which is unfortunate because the World Eater uses this as a boast about how he should be the one to command and lead the dragons of Tamriel when recent actions have since made him more controversial and disliked instead. He quickly took notice that most dragons in the divine realms weren't divine, much to his disappointment, and weren't sentient either, instead being more like feral monsters, but the World Eater did muse that they could be swayed into his side or at least be rattled and manipulated into serving to his purposes. This led him to learn about dragons such as Rathalos, Rathian, and Lord of Darkness, somewhat impressed by their power and abilities but found frustration in getting them to fulfill his intentions as the former two proved too unruly to obey orders and the latter couldn't be asked. Bowser was someone the World Eater amusingly saw as a dragon-turtle amalgamation, but was perplexed at how his goals revolved mainly on kidnapping a princess to prove himself superior to his nemesis. As far as Alduin is concerned, he'd rather kill Princess Peach and slay Mario right then and there if they ever met. As a result, the two are on poor terms, furthered by the fact that Bowser was quick to afford that he’s kicked Mario’s butt a couple of times whereas Alduin never got a single victory against the Dovahkiin, plus if he were in Skyrim, Bowser would have tried a hand in treating his followers, old and new, with respect. Alduin thinks Bowser is spouting nonsense, not wanting to believe that the Koopa King did indeed almost end the universe at one point, a fact that Bowser uses to prove his superiority over Akatosh’s Firstborn.
    • The very first dragons in the Pantheon that Alduin would express interest in were the divine trio of Io, Bahamut, and Tiamat as he learned that they were among the most powerful beings of the lands they came from and desired to learn more about them, if mainly because he felt that doing so would mean more knowledge, power, and access for himself. The World Eater quickly realized that chromatic dragons could make easy allies of convenience should any ever ascend while metallic dragons are those he needs to contend against as they would not subscribe to his ambitions. As for the dragon lords themselves, Alduin was embittered to discover that, for once, he might not be too powerful, for Io, Bahamut, and Tiamat are not only stronger than the World Eater but were just as comparable in power and authority as Akatosh himself. This begrudging acknowledgment frustrated Alduin for a while, but he would ally with Tiamat as both desired conquest, even if said alliance was frosty as both argued on who should herald it. Alduin has since made it a mission to gather enough power in the hopes of challenging and overcoming Io and Bahamut though he admits that it may take a millennia or more to accumulate the necessary strength required for such.
    • Benevolent dragons in Skyrim are an extreme rarity because of their innate desire for battle and bloodshed and they only begin to exist because of Paarthurnax’s betrayal. Because he believes in domination and oppression, Alduin finds compassion and mercy to be an embarrassing notion and thus, he feels insulted anytime he sees a benevolent dragon, such as Falkor and Jake Long, dismissing whatever heroic acts they perform as them “showing off”. He also finds the concept of dragons and humans forming close bonds like with Hiccup and Toothless to be insipid and desires to kill them not just to prove his superiority, but because their nature is something the World Eater finds too revolting for him to tolerate. Though he would never admit this, it’s speculated that Alduin’s rage over seeing good-hearted dragons and one being friends with mankind reminds him of Paarthurnax’s betrayal, a sentiment that was confirmed when his younger brother, then a Herald to the Dovahkiin confronted him on the matter.
    • While he isn't the only evil dragon in the Pantheon and has no problems working with one, Alduin makes it clear that only he has the divine right to claim rulership and tyranny to the Pantheon as well as its eventual destruction. This caused him to encounter several powerful dragons like Fatalis, King Ghidorah, Acnologia, and Grima and while all of them were widely feared for their destructive capabilities, the World Water was annoyed by their mentality to “destroy and sunder first” and for generally being dismissive of Alduin’s ambitions. While they all impressed him with the vast powers they possessed, the World Eater did muse that they would have ended up being rivals at some point anyway as all of them possessed great power and would have wanted to use them to determine the Pantheon’s view in their way. Deathwing was one dragon whom Alduin strangely found some camaraderie with despite their rivalry and acknowledged the Black Dragonflight patriarch as an equal in terms of authority and destruction, while they have a slight alliance of convenience, the World Eater does admit that he might end up fighting Deathwing once the fate of the Divine Realms comes to pass on his viewpoint and justifying that only he has the right to end the world as he sees fit. Predictably, the rest of the Dragonflights were quick to label Alduin as a threat they must stop due to his ambition for tyranny and the destructive waste he is willing to spread for his cause, though the Firstborn of Akatosh simply balks their efforts to oppose him and is eager to deliver sharp and caustic remarks on them, even personal insults on their tragedy if he feels like it.
    • As a deified dragon, Alduin has a sense of entitlement that he be seen as such rather than as a mere monster, but given his actions and his defiance of what he is supposed to be doing, most would prefer the opposite, much to his anger. He does have some interest in the Targaryen dynasty upon learning of their history of taming dragons and relying on them as a symbol and power of their own ferocity and domination, but the World Eater feels that this undermines his race, a complaint he spat towards its most famous representative, Daenerys, who stood her ground with Drogon and proclaimed that someone like Alduin is too petty to be in comparison and that her ambitions to subvert her dynasty’s tyrannical reputation is a greater cause than whatever he wants to achieve, but Alduin retorted that Daenerys was being hypocritical about her stance and that he is at least honest about his ambitions, resulting in the two clashing quite often. He does have some degree of respect towards Maegor I for his cruelty and similar drive for power to the point of sharing a tense partnership, though the World Eater makes it clear that Maegor will be disposed of should he ever become a hindrance. Aside from that, Alduin also faces criticism from Mila and Duma as they felt that his goals were in complete contradiction to the tenets of what a divine dragon should strive for, not to mention the Firstborn of Akatosh doesn't either preach or advocate anything close to what Mila and Duma represent. This animosity is further passed down to Alm and Celica, who compare Alduin’s ambitions and lust for power and dominance to Desaix and the worst of Duma’s cult followers and have made sure to do whatever it takes to halt the World Eater from making progress in his goals.
    • The Pantheon was a haven for hunters who wished to prove themselves by hunting and taking down creatures as ferocious as dragons, but while Alduin acknowledges their existence, he has a very low opinion on them, calling any hunter a pathetic worm for daring to confront him, let alone prove themselves a combatant, with only the Dragonborn being the only hunter he would ever consider as being someone who could pose a challenge. The Monster Hunters have made plans and preparations to take the World Eater on, but Alduin scoffs at them, feeling that the Elder Dragons they tend to fight against have nothing compared to him, even if Fatalis proves to be equal enough to be a rival because to him, what's the point of all their planning if neither of the hunters possess the Thu’um. He also has a similar sentiment towards a certain group of Dragon Hunters despite their reputation for taking down powerful dragons including one that was said to potentially destroy and reshape the universe. It took fighting against Nodens Unit 13 for Alduin to begrudgingly admit that they do pose a threat to him and take them more seriously since. The Firstborn of Akatosh has mused the idea of turning the situation around and making himself a hunter of hunters as a way to spite both groups for daring to challenge him as well as further assert himself as a being of utmost fear and calamity. Finally, Alduin finds Gwyn to be an inferior king and his trusted hunter and aide, Dragonslayer Ornstein, to be a brainless lackey whose obsession with killing dragons has led him to nowhere, but if Ornstein's reputation as a dragonslayer is famous enough, then the World Eater is eager to tarnish that reputation if need be.
  • With his ability to conjure spells with his words and shouts, Alduin has a unique brand of magic and sorcery to his credit and the House of Magic and Sorcery admitted to being worried about just what the World Eater would do if he ever desired to take over the House and use it as a base of operations, a concern that rang too true as Alduin saw this as a building ground for more power and a way to expand his vocabulary for his Thu'um abilities. Doctor Strange takes this as an affront and is willing to fight the Firstborn of Akatosh if need be as was Black Bolt, a friend of Strange's and a being capable of causing mass destruction through his voice, and Zatanna, a talented magician who casts spells by saying words backward. Alduin was slightly impressed by their powers but still felt that they paled in comparison to his, being a god and all, yet they didn't grab his attention most. Instead, most of Alduin's focus was glanced at Madoka Kaname upon realizing her nature as a goddess of hope and the circumstances of her godhood. The evil dragon god was personally revolted that a little girl could become a goddess and saw her desires as laughable as, in his mind, everything must die. Madoka wasn't fazed and while she acknowledged his blackened mind, came to instead pity him, feeling that Alduin could have done better with the wisdom he's given, but she was also aware that the World Eater would likely take this as an insult.
  • What makes the World Eater so feared is his ability to feast and devour the souls of anyone he slaughters, so not only does he kill, he'll make it so that they cannot be resurrected in any way, and he will do that if it means gaining more power. Furthermore, he can access the afterlife (more specifically, Sovengarde) because of his nature as a god, information that the House of Death and Postmortem were quick to take into account and prepare countermeasures should Alduin ever become desperate enough to invade the House.
    • Shang Tsung, a vile sorcerer who steals souls to keep himself rejuvenated, was intrigued by Alduin's powers and realized that with his relationship with Shao, he might get a shot at working alongside Akatosh's Firstborn to further his agenda. Alduin consented to a partnership with the devious sorcerer and the two have an interest in learning about each others' knowledge and usage in sorcery, language, and understanding souls with Shang referencing Alduin as a great case study. That said, both are aware of each other' high opinion of themselves, with Alduin quickly figuring out that Shang intends to betray him in the future while the latter knows that the former will likely kill him once his usefulness expires. For now, their alliance is kept intact, if mainly because they know they have more than enough enemies to deal with.
  • The Nameless God was a deity much like Alduin in personality; arrogant, very sure of his powers, desired domination, and proclaimed themselves a superior god above everything else. It is because of their many similarities that the two ended up clashing with each other the Nameless God wanted to prove himself to be a more powerful being than the dragon god when Alduin would have been more content to see his challenger bow down to his servitude, not wanting to acknowledge him as a god upon learning of his past as a mortal who happened to claim too much power, enslave an island, and imprison the residents gods of said island so he could rule unchecked. Disappointed, Alduin decided to try his hand at slaying the Nameless God, but only to claim his island and its residents, hoping to either devour their souls or make them kneel to his governance, a goal that no one wants to see accomplished.
  • There were many beings with a fabled prophecy about them being a savior, much like the Dovakhiin, though as far as Alduin is concerned, they are more than welcome to try their luck against them when it comes to stopping his dark plans. Link, the fabled hero of Hyrule was one such foe that Alduin had contended against on a few occasions as was Princess Zelda, both of whom proved capable of repelling the dragon's repeated attempts to attack Hyrule. and while Aragorn and Gandalf weren't prophecized figures, their exploits and reputation as heroes of Middle-earth still felt like a substitute for prophetic figures as far as the World Eater is concerned and dares them anyway. It didn't help that Alduin himself was acquainted with Ganondorf and Sauron. Malekith, a Dark Elven king and a brutal tyrant held some interest in Alduin but quickly found his presence and power to be a threat to him as he figured that the Firstborn of Akatosh had no interest in an alliance with someone who would tame dragons to his servitude, though Malekith is contemptuous of Alduin's high-and-mighty attitude and for his failure to prove his ferocity, which incited the dragon enough to clash against the Witch-King, who cites the latter as too foolish and bratty for someone who is supposed to be the Elves' Eternity King and a God of Shadows. Finally, Alduin has dealt with Sigmar Heldenhammer a couple of times, with each battle causing the World Eater to realize the God-Emperor might be a match for him and display a sense of fear towards him, something that Alduin seethes in rage upon being reminded of such.
Face me, then! Zu'u Alduin!
