Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

I mean, its easy. Just seperate the reveals and the twists. I wish all Houses and Halls had two words to them because its less likely to share a page with another work.

why are HXH profiles so hard?

Snorlax, God of Storyline Obstructions (Kabigon, The Sleeping Pokémon)

  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Gender: Male
  • Abilities: Thick Fat
  • Moves: Body Slam, Rest, Snore, Zen Headbutt
    • Z-Move: Breakneck Blitznote
  • Portfolio: Big Eater, Blocking Pathways, being a Heavy Sleeper, Stout Strength, Mighty Glacier, Extreme Omnivore, Bears Are Bad News, Vulnerable to Fighting-type attacks, especially Low Kick, Looks Almost Like A Bed, Shout-Out to Totoro, Massive HP Stat, Eyes Always Shut, Poor Special Attack, Obsessed with Food, Really Fond of Sleeping, Belly Can Be Bounced On Or Rested On
  • Herald: Sudowoodo
  • Allies: Ash, Pikachu, Red, Professor Kukui, Yotsuba, Chiyo
  • Foil: Bewear
  • Enemies: anyone who disturbs his sleep.
  • Opposed by: Anyone whose paths he blocks. Unless they have ways around him.
  • Opposes: Most martial artists (due to his Type weakness)
  • Narratively speaking, the Broken Bridge serves as a means to bar players from progressing through before the story decides they're ready. These can come in the form of literal broken bridges, avalanches, or NPCs. As part of the Pantheon's deity selection process, one has to be the last of these to qualify, or else be someone who has regularly broken bridges to impede the protagonist. Enter the Sleeping Pokémon, Snorlax, who is a fat, even-tempered Pokémon that loves to eat and sleep. He debuted as literal roadblocks in Kanto Route 12 and Route 16, barring access to Fuchsia City until you acquire the Poké Flute from Mr. Fuji, which is meant to wake him and render him vulnerable to Pokéball capture. Despite having to wake him up by that way, its low catch rate often makes it necessary to use sleep-inducing moves on the Pokémon during battle. Go figure.
  • He was first sighted at the House of Travel, obstructing one of the hallways. Given most residents aren't Pokémon Trainers accustomed to using alternate methods, Snorlax found himself assaulted, and while he can usually weather them no problem, there's only so much he can take before he gets peeved enough to get on his feet and retaliate. He was able to put up enough of a decent fight that one of them decided on a whim to contact the Court of the Gods so that he can be assigned a position in the House of Travel so that he can be kept an eye on.
  • His partnership with Mako Reizei is an interesting one. At first, she thought he was a giant teddy bear shaped cat and slept on it's belly. Snorlax didn't mind, though. She tends to use his traffic blocking ability to get away from her responsibilities and hide in a forest. That is, unless he's blocking someplace else, in which she is dragged to that place in order to wake him up and free traffic.
  • He is, without a doubt, the bane of the house of Food as they know they when he comes there to eat, they have to prepare at least 880lb of food. At least, Kirby and Pac-Man were completely random with their food intake, now they have to add Snorlax on top of that. It's enough to drive them into a frenzy. He is also one of the few gods who could eat the "Delicious Fruit", "Mystery Food X", Pitful egg, and Kei's cakes in one setting without suffering from any ill effects because that's how strong his stomach is. Despite eating just about anything, even Snorlax doesn't like Plankton's chum, though he simply finds it "bland and bitter" rather than "OH GOD MY STOMACH!" like most gods. Despite his species' reputation for eating anything and everything, as seen in Hisui, Snorlax won't eat Springy Mushrooms or any products made with it.
  • After 20 years of sleeping, Snorlax is ready to use its Z-move in the form of Pulverizing Pancake. It will usually only reserve usage of such a move when really pissed off. Also, he's capable of using Hyper Beam through his eyes.
  • Bewear is considered a Foil to Snorlax—both vaguely resemble bears and/or bear-related paraphernalia (i.e: teddy bears, mascot costumes), are Mighty Glaciers that hit hard from the physical side, and their stat distributions being remarkably similar when Fluffy is taken into account (with Snorlax tanking hits from special moves, and Bewear physical). Likewise, they're both infamous in their own native regions; Snorlax is a total glutton and is absolutely lazy to the point of blocking paths, and Bewear is known for her somewhat feisty nature or being absolutely dangerous to handle due to her lack of awareness and control of her own strength.
  • Snorlax eats so messily, that he gets berries, seeds and pebbles stuck to its fur, which grow to huge sizes with Gigantamax energy.
  • (resemblance to Totoro)

Once again, Far Zenith (Gerald, Erik and Tilda) for The Elites Jump Ship.

The Elites Jump Ship is easy enough. Far Zenith consists of the Old World's wealthy elite who funded Far Zenith's Odyssey Project in exchange for a ticket off of the planet to avoid being killed by the Faro Swarm. And it happens once again when Nemesis destroys their colony on Sirius and haul-tail back to Earth.

His Pokédex entries can be contradictory. According to Black, it can help in tunnel construction. But according to White, their activity can be destructive to subway tunnels.

The way the third sentence suddenly switches to plural is a bit weird.

Also, moles aren't rodents.

  • The first Dragon type introduced was the Dratini line. A rare Pokémon found in bodies of water, Dratini is a sea serpent that was called the "Mirage Pokémon" due to how hard it was to find. It was first discovered by a fishermen, and sheds its skin as it grows. At Level 30 Dratini becomes Dragonair, who can fly with wings on its head, and exudes a gentle aura. Only at Level 55 can the line gain the Flying type and become the behemoth known as Dragonite. The first psuedo-legendary Pokémonnote , has tiny wings for its bulky body. However Dragonite has no problem with flight, and is so fast that it can fly around the world in 16 hours. Compared to many future psuedo-legendary Pokémon Dragonite is a lot more friendly and docile, however it is no less powerful or dangerous when angered.
  • Dragonite was first spotted not in the Hall of Dragons as some predicted, but the Hall of Land and Sea Travel where it rescued some mortal figures who were shipwrecked. The dragon's species is known for rescuing people who were shipwrecked or lost at sea, simply out of the goodness of its heart. For the good deeds it was doing, the Dragonite that was found was rewarded with candidacy for the Trope Pantheon and an eventual position under "God of Having Ridiculously Small Wings". The sea guardian is rarely found in his own Hall as he still helps out those lost and shipwrecked, having Enterprise and Franky help out other people. Unless you're a REAL asshole he doesn't care why you're at sea; the Delightful Dragon is there to give a helping hand.
  • Compared to later psuedo-legendaries, he's a lot cuter and calmer. Temperament-wise Dragonite is the polar opposite of the other Dragon/Flying psuedo-legendary Salamence, who has a reputation of being a raging asshole. Dragonite isn't fond of his attitude, not helped by Salamence constantly trying to prove that he's better and making fun of his relatively tiny wings. Tyranitar and Garchomp also like to posture about being stronger than Dragonite, pointing to their ace in Mega Evolution, but they're at least affable around it and don't try to make him the OG Dragon type feel bad about himself. Of course despite Salamence's provocations Dragonite doesn't hate him persay; you have to be a real bastard to have Dragonite hate you.
  • One of the ways Salamence has tried to get under Dragonite's skin is derisively call him Barney the Dinosaur. Dragonite thought this was Salamence being nice for once, as he sees so much in common with Dragonite; they're big and lovable despite being based on typically "fierce and badass" creatures like the T-Rex and dragon. Dragonite shares that "big, friendly energy" with Rubeus Hagrid, who gets along with him along with having a lot of knowledge about dragons. Seto Kaiba has yet to make a statement on how he feels about Dragonite, since while he does love his dragons...Dragonite just feels too cute and cuddly for him to get around on.
  • Hunter J is Hated by All Pokémon, however he especially hates Hunter J because of how rare a Pokémon he is; until first discovered by a fisherman, the Dratini line was thought to be a myth or mirage. This rarity makes him a prime target for the black market and all Hunter J sees in the kind, powerful and intelligent dragon is a lot of money. The Team Rocket leader Giovanni agrees on the money part, but is less myopic and plans to force Dragonite to serve Team Rocket so their power may grow. Dragonite just wants them to leave him and other Pokémon alone. This is somewhat of a sore spot the sea guardian has to one Eugene Krabs. Yes, Krabs isn't as bad as either of them but he's still a pretty greedy businessmen who sees dollar signs over talk about Dratini. Dragonite has warned him not to try anything, but as long as he doesn't he'll be left alone.
  • According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way Dragonite should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. Dragonite, of course, flies anyway, because dragons don't care what humans think is impossible. And yes, Dragonite did have Barry B Benson as a scriptwriter for pending nomination. Though they aren't that similar, Barry is a benevolent flying creature with oddly small wings for his body, and he has an interesting job where he acts as lawyer for disenfranchised animals. Dragonite came to him for legal help of all things, mainly to pass more bills against the exploitation of Dratini and other rare Pokémon like himselfnote . One case was to launch a case at the Dovahkiim whom he had seriously negative views on for his dragon hunting. Ultimately the dragon hunter avoided a court case for promising not to hunt any Dragon-type Pokémon; besides, Dragonite is such a Nice Guy he can't in good conscience hunt him.
  • Though he doesn't oppose Archie especially since he's reformed, Dragonite thinks his belief of expanding the sea to benefit Pokémon was completely stupid, not to mention not considering all the humans who would be shipwrecked by the increased tides. However he at least isn't Kyogre, who's basically a sea deity that expands and causes chaos with the sea not because it thinks that's what's for the best but because they just don't care about the consequences. Kyogre couldn't care less what Dragonite thinks, and mocked him being a mere psuedo legendary. On the flip side, Dragonite is more nuanced with Chaos. He was appalled by the great flood they caused in their wrath even if they were legitimately angered, however Chaos has had a Heel–Face Turn and no longer holds anger to the world. They have asked to let them prove they've become benevolent again, and Dragonite can't say no to that.
  • Due to Dragonite's history of rescuing people from shipwrecks, he quickly gravitated to one Carter Grayson of the Power Rangers. He's the head of a group dedicated to rescues, which meant he was in tune to the Dragon Pokémon's inherently charitable and helpful nature. Together Dragonite serves as a might dragon mount that has helped the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue out immensely, though the psuedo-legendary has advised them to be a lot more cautious in cold and icy terrains; Multiscale may help somewhat, but Ice type attacks are still devastating. The Pokémon will sometimes be called upon by the Diver and Pi for aid, and it's all in a days work. Asides from rescuing, Dragonite will sometimes deliver air mail. He'll admit that while this is mostly out of the goodness of his heart, part of him just wants to prove the people who think his chunky body would make him slow wrong.
  • Finds Poseidon frustrating, however not to the point he can bring himself to dislike or oppose him (not that Poseidon is someone Dragonite could beat in a fight). His mercurial, reckless nature and wrath he sometimes doles on shippers for little reason bother the dragon, however Poseidon is often compassionate towards beasts of the sea and in his own way he loves the sea. For the most part Dragonite is fine with him so long as he never gets in the way of his saving people. Dragonite is fond of his son Percy Jackson, but more due to him being a water-focused hero and general good person than anything noteworthy. He is also decent terms with Poseidon's nephew Hermes (or Mercury if you're Roman), as asides from his genial personality Hermes is a speedster with little winged shoes...a trait Dragonite finds nostalgic given the ears on his immediate pre-evolution. Those ears were also what he used to fly, though using Flying type moves was more of a mixed bag in those days.
  • Within the Pokémon community Dragonite is a fan of Ash (no surprise there), Red (for stopping Team Rocket from taking over his debut region), Brock and Misty (for helping out one of his Kaiju sized brethren). Ash is also one of few trainers to catch and tame a fully-grown Dragonite, alongside his friend Iris, so the ascended Dragonite respects that. With fellow Pokémon, Dragonite is friendly with Lugia and Rayquaza. They're both protective legendaries, the former being associated with the sea despite not having the Water type and the latter correcting whatever problems Kyogre and Groudon cause with their ceaseless bickering. Lugia has apologized for any shipwreck it might've caused in the Whirl Islands, but Dragonite understands that it is only there to contain its massive power.
  • The only dragon that Dragonite has active hatred for is Grima, due to how much of an abomination it is and its horrible goals. There is simply nothing to like about pure evil. Outside of him even some of the evil draconic deities like Bowser or Smaug will get at worst a disapproving frown from Dragonite; he's just that friendly a dragon. Dragonite likes the friendly and huggable dragons more such as Falkor, though he's still not the hugger that Goodra is. The Dragon Pokémon also likes the more Western-style Spyro. Another good dragon friend of Dragonite is Tiki, a divine dragon who shares a love of helping people in need. Together the two strive for a better future, though there is some angst on Tiki's part that she will inevitably outlive the psuedo-legendary.
  • Though Dragonite as a whole are friendly unless you're really evil, they are not Always Lawful Good. Iris' Dragonite is confrontational and violent. They're also known to engage in fierce battles with Kingdra for no apparent reason. Amusingly Dragonite acts irate whenever he is close to the seahorse, which is kind of awkward for Aquaman whenever he's riding Kingdra; Dragonite likes him because of his role in being a king and guardian of the oceans. Also of note is Aquaman's ability to command sea life manages to affect Dragonite despite not being a Water type, due to being in one of the Water egg groups and usually living in the sea.

Empoleon, God of Pun-Based Creatures (The Emperor Pokémon, Master of the Waves, Emperte)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pokkn_empoleon.png
  • Hall: Naming Convention (House of Naming and Epithets)

  • Symbol: Its trident-like beak
  • Theme Song: Empoleon's Snow Slide
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Ability: Defiant
  • Gender: Male
  • Moveset: Aqua Jet, Drill Peck, Steel Wing, Swords Dance
    • Z-Move: Corkscrew Crash
  • Portfolio: Prideful Emperor Penguin Based On Napoleon, Has The Attitude To Match, I Work Alone, Classy Cravat, Pun-Based Creature, Water And Steel Type, Starter Mon, Prongs of Poseidon That Doubles As A Crown
  • Domains: Pride, Puns, Historical Influences, Penguins, Starters, Stubbornness, Swimming
  • Allies: Ash Ketchum, Dawn, Cynthia, Sgt. James Byrd, the Penguins of Madagascar, The Antarctic Research Crew, Olivier Armstrong, Davos Seaworth, Franky, Enterprise, Ice Man
  • On good terms with: House Stark, Vegeta
  • Rival: Sun Wukong
  • Enemies: Hunter J, Giovanni, Cyrus, Rusty, Joffrey Baratheon, The Thing, Gaston, Colonel Volgin
  • Opposes: Prince Charmless
  • Wary of: The Hall of Electricity
  • One of the three starters of the Sinnoh region is the Water-type penguin Piplup. Piplup is known for a strong sense of self-pride, and it has a hard time accepting food given to it. To its credit, the penguin is a really good swimmer. Their pride stops them for forming a group as each member insists they're the most important one of the group. The final form of this Pokémon is Empoleon, a Water/Steel emperor penguin that can move as fast as a jet boat. The people of old Hisui called Empoleon "Master of the Waves" and though very haughty, it prefers not to get into unnecessary conflict.
  • Empoleon is an emperor penguin both biologically, but also in character. And not just any emperor, but Napoleon Bonaparte. Its name is a mix of "emperor" and "Napoleon", its height is the same as Napoleon, and its personality is pretty similar too. Naturally, Napoleon was one of the only people that someone as egotistical as an Empoleon would accept as a partner, in part because it sees a lot of himself in the guy. However the penguin considered Dawn a close second, as she had successfully raised a strong Piplup as her starter. He is also generally respectful towards Ash since his love and compassion for Pokemon everywhere rewards him that respect. Empoleon also possess respect towards the champion of his native region, Cynthia.
  • On the flip side Hunter J is Hated by All Pokémon for the opposite reason Ash is loved. Empoleon is certainly no exception. He isn't fond of Cyrus or Giovanni either; the former is a villain who directly threatened his region, while the latter considers him a "valuable asset" and believes that Pokémon are tools for power. And don't get him started on Pokemon "Trainer" Rusty, who should've never been allowed near another living thing. Empoleon isn't fond of Gaston either, but not because of any hatred. Instead, it's because Gaston has a love of showing how great he is and wants to hunt down Empoleon as he's a tough, exotic animal.
  • Empoleon was hardly the first Water type starter, let alone starter to be introduced to the Trope Pantheon. Among the other fully evolved Water starters the Emperor Pokémon boasts to be the best choice of the bunch, citing his steely determination as a cut above the cannon-wielding tortoise, amphibious ninja and strong-jawed crocodilian. The four have come to regularly spar in order to prove once and for all who's the best of their kind, however it is entirely in good spirit as they usually get along off the battlefield. A less friendly rivalry would be born between Empoleon and Sun Wukong, as the penguin is well-aware that its own contemporary Infernape was a disciple of the Monkey King; to best him would be an absolute flex on the fire monkey. But against a true god, Empoleon was outmatched. Still Empoleon swears he won't give up and he will get stronger; it's not for nothing that this Empoleon has the Hidden Ability of Defiant.
  • If it were not apparent already, Empoleon may be the haughtiest of all Water type starters and one of the most prideful Pokémon going. If anyone were to hurt its pride, it would slash them with wings that can cleave through an ice floe. Even his choice of a partner was partly an exercise in narcissism. It is this pride that has led to the Master of Waves find common ground with the House of Pride and Egotism. Personally he has come to like Vegeta and his growth into having a more healthy but no less present ego, though he doesn't think Empoleon has enough in common with him to be an ally. Most of the time, however, you can find Empoleon chilling at the Hall of Ice and Cold.
  • Empoleon may be haughty but he is no Smug Snivy and will stay composed, letting their actions and body language do the boasting for them. He'll use his mighty swimming skills to save people not just because Empoleon want to show off, but because he is an emperor (penguin) and it is his duty. He will aid people in need sailing the seven seas because it is the responsible and right thing to do. And as such, he has aided a number of deities in the Hall of Land and Sea Travel. Empoleon has come to respect House Stark as their time in the cold north has sharpened them into a hardy, loved noble family.
  • While having grown seasoned and calm over time, Empoleon won't deny that it used to be an arrogant little brat. By all accounts Piplup and Prinplup are royal brats nigh-incapable of respecting anyone and refusing to accept being subordinate to everyone. Empoleon regards being a Prinplup as "why puberty sucks" and he projects this upon his strong dislike to royal brats like Princess Charmless. Empoleon is especially frustrated by Joffrey Baratheon since he's the absolute worst kind of a spoiled, egotistical brat, and one with such little self-awareness the penguin speculates it would take dying over and over for him to understand his actions have consequences.
  • When it comes to other members of his kindnote , Empoleon can't say that the Trope Pantheon has bad representatives. Empoleon seeks to learn from Sgt. Byrd on how to be capable of flight, as while a penguin the bird can fly. He also respects his work ethic. Empoleon also likes the Penguins of Madagascar because he finds their antics rather amusing and wants to see if they can scheme a way to counter-act Electric types. Sure Empoleon is also weak to Ground and Fighting types, but they can be covered by Aqua Jet and Drill Peck. Also, he's part of the Pokkén Tournament so wanting to avoid the House of Fighting and Combat due to type weaknesses would come off as rather cowardly. Still, Empoleon is man enough to admit he fears to tread in the Hall of Electricity, especially Zeus and Eneru. The penguin dreads the idea of meeting Colonel Volgin too as he'd want to watch him explode in agony from electric torture.
  • Despite being a penguin, Empoleon is not an Ice type. However, Piplup are found in typically icy and cold climates. Empoleon's ability to carve through ice floes like a living icebreaker ship has made the Pokémon an attractive figure among those who work in tundra or arctic conditions. Hoping to prove to others of his superiority, the penguin applied to aid Fort Briggs. He personally respects Olivier Armstrong for her hard work ethic and hard-ass attitude since it gets results, however she wants him to prove that he is willing to go through the Training from Hell to do so. Napoleon gave in good word to his partner since he doesn't intent to let the winter foil his troops like the last time.
  • Empoleon has volunteered to aid the Antarctic Research Crew in cutting through the ice in order to help them traverse the continent. He wasn't expecting there to be something like the Thing lurking there and truth be told, he's terrified of the entity...but his pride and stoic demeanor refuses to let him back down. His ability to function as an icebreaker has also allowed him to help Ice Man with his subzero research.
  • Took a wrong turn at one point and found himself in the Iceberg Lounge, the "legitimate" establishment of one Oswald Cobblepott. The Penguin allowed his entry because let's face it, he could not resist the novelty. And personally, he was impressed to see an example of a penguin that could actually kick ass and wasn't just some funny animal. When questioned by Batman, Oswald replied "what, I just let him have some free fish. I just thought Empoleon was neat. And before you ask no, I don't get penguins wasted".

Also, I meant to respond to this earlier, but I forgot:

@Shinobi: I think Bisharp can stay. Middle evolutions tend to be overlooked, so having some in the Pantheon adds some variety. We can always add a paragraph about Kingambit to its description.

Crystal and Medley Brook, Co-Goddesses of Unconventional Kelpies (three [tup]s so far)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/medley_brook_and_crystal.jpg
Medley Brook (left) and Crystal (right)

  • Potential house: Hall of Fantastical Beasts in the House of Beasts and Fauna
  • Rank: Lesser Gods
  • Symbols: Their cutie marks; Medley's is a pink lotus, and Crystal's is a four-pointed snowflake
  • Alignments: Medley Brook is Neutral Good; Crystal is Chaotic Good
  • Portfolio: Their bodies have similar properties to hydrogen oxide, they can control water's state of matter, Elemental Shapeshifters, one-third of a Geodesic Cast, Canon Foreigners, explode when they come into contact with electricity (but they can get better), used to be friends with Zecora until they were Innocently Insensitive to her, Water Is Blue, have black sclerae and white pupils
  • Domains: Kelpies, equines, freshwater, ice, laughter, loyalty
  • Heralds: Zecora, Marini, Dust Devil, and Cactus Rose
  • High priestess: Oceara
  • Allies:
  • Enemies: Grogar, Tirek, King Sombra, Volgin
  • Fear: The entire Hall of Electricity, everyone else with electric powers, the Nuckelavee
  • Disliked by: Alphonse and Edward Elric, most DuckTales gods, Jake Long
  • Feared by: All Splatoon deities (Inklings and Octolings, the Squid Sisters, and Off the Hook), the Wicked Witch of the West
  • Far away from Equestria is Farasi, a Culture Chop Suey of Africa inhabited by zebras, kelpies, and abada. Medley Brook and Crystal are two such kelpies. They have the power to change water's state of matter, and this extends to their bodies, which are fluid. Medley Brook is usually in a liquid form, while Crystal is usually solid. When they were foals, they were friends with two zebras named Marini and Zecora, and two abada named Cactus Rose and Dust Devil. Zecora became distant from them all as she researched magic, until eventually she jumped on a ship to Equestria and never looked back.
  • ...That was, until shortly after Twilight Sparkle was crowned the ruler of all Equestria. She wanted to expand Equestria's knowledge of the world, so she tasked her friends with exploring other nations. Applejack reluctantly dragged Zecora back to Farasi, where she reunited with her old friends. Together, they ventured into the desert to fight the destructive Grootslang, and discovered Farasi's long-forgotten Tree of Harmony. Each of the Farasians gained an element; Medley Brook's was laughter, because she entertained some cacti with a song to repay them for giving the group water, and Crystal's was Loyalty, because she dehydrated herself to save Dust Devil from falling.
  • After the international Elements of Harmony saved the world from the Knights of Order, Applejack approached the Court of the Gods and vouched for Medley Brook and Crystal to be ascended to the co-goddesses of kelpies. The Court were impressed, but asked Applejack to bring them here so they could meet them for themselves. Medley was enthusiastic to meet the Court, but Crystal asked them what their deal was, and her mean streak almost got them both rejected. After their ascension, Pinkie Pie threw them a Welcome to the Pantheon Party.
  • Their temple is a small oasis surrounded by palm trees. Medley Brook's half is warmer and filled with lotuses, water lilies, and similar freshwater flowers, while Crystal's is decorated with ice sculptures she made herself.
  • As soon as she ascended, Medley's first goal was to meet all the water-related creatures she could, so her first stop was the Hall of Aquatic Life. She was overwhelmed by how cute Oshawott and Popplio are, and she likes to play with them and Platypet on the waterslides in the Platypus Playground. Sometimes she plays hide-and-seek with Vaporeon, where they take turns melting into the water and finding each other. She was also ecstatic to learn that there were different kinds of kelpies elsewhere in the multiverse, and set out to find them. One misadventure later, she met Keldeo of the Swords of Justice and immediately bombarded him with questions... until the others showed up. Medley, intimidated by their horn-swords, left.
  • Crystal is nowhere near as enthusiastic, so she gets along better with similar aloof, cool types. Due to her more serious attitude, she has a far easier time hanging out with the Swords of Justice. Since Crystal was mischievous as a foal — she used to freeze every puddle Zecora was about to step in — she's a kindred spirit with Jack Frost.
  • You'd think Crystal would get along with Elsa, seeing as they both have ice powers, but you would be wrong. Crystal found Elsa too mopey, and Elsa found Crystal too flippant. However, Medley Brook cried a river (literally) when she learned about Elsa's history, and that was the start of a beautiful friendship.
  • When the two first met Percy Jackson, he assumed he could understand them because they were equines and beings of water. They explained that no, they're sapient beings, and Translation Convention is in full effect in the Pantheon. Despite their awkward meeting, the three of them get along well, and Medley introduced him to the other My Little Pony deities.
  • The duo's most unusual ally, however, is Kratos. In one of his own adventures, he and Freya rode a kelpie to meet the Norns. He wanted to show it to Atreus, but wasn't able to, so he's glad he finally has some other kelpies to show them. However, he didn't even try to ride Medley Brook or Crystal; not only are they too small, but being zebra-like, they'd buck off anyone who tried.
  • The Elric brothers find these two unsettling because they remind them of their undead mother from another universe, who could melt her body into water. Similarly, a lot of gods who've met the kind of kelpies who try to drown people (such as Scrooge McDuck, his allies, and Jake Long) are wary of them. The Splatoon deities and the Wicked Witch of the West fear them for a far more mundane reason: they dissolve in water. Medley is absolutely distraught about this (except the Witch, who she thinks is ugly), but Crystal doesn't really care.
  • Due to their isolation from Equestria, they'd never heard of Grogar, Tirek, or King Sombra before they ascended, but once they did, they instantly became enemies with all of them. Crystal thinks that Grogar and King Sombra would probably try to enslave all the Farasians, while Tirek could potentially flood the world if he absorbed all the kelpies' magic. Medley just finds them all scary.
  • Kelpies explode when they come into contact with water. Medley Brook learned this the hard way many years ago when she tried to eat zap apples; her friends had to mop her up and put all her pieces in a bucket. Crystal swears Medley is shorter than she used to be. As a result, they keep well away from any electricity-users. One night, Volgin snuck up on their temple and tried to electrocute Medley in her sleep for kicks; fortunately, Crystal woke up and kicked him in the face. Also, they both find the Nuckelavee deeply unsettling, being an undead, not-quite-equine thing that stinks of decay. They haven't realised yet that it's weak to fresh water.
  • Back in Equestria, Twilight Sparkle didn't have much time to get to know Medley, Crystal, and the other international elements. Inquisitively, she visited their temple and asked them about their history with Zecora. Crystal was too stubborn to answer, but Medley Brook was all too eager to give her the details. It reminded Twilight of a bigger friendship problem in the Pantheon she hadn't been able to solve — the centuries-long feud between Master Oogway and Kai — and asked them to help her solve it. They both agreed to come with her, even if Crystal complained the whole time.

@ Bisharp: Funnily enough, we could easily make an in-universe excuse for Bisharp not to be usurped by its evo; you can only get a Bisharp to evolve by beating three other Bisharp with a Leader's Crest

Speaking of Pokemon, I want to know how I or someone else who wants to should pursue this idea

  • I am considering both Xerneas and Yveltal for a rework because as it stands their current profiles are rather lackluster. However I want to know what you guys think about the two profiles being combined (legendary duo/trio Pokemon usually aren't separate) into one profile under a single trope. That trope? Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance; both the mascots of Pokemon X and Y are visually designed to resemble the letters and have it in their design. Is there a trope you think they should combine to have instead? Do you think Zygarde could also be merged for a full Aura Trio? Or should I just leave it alone and rework them as is?

Neutral on Zygarde being added to the same group as them. While it would free up Adaptation Expansion and base Zygarde's design fits, its other forms don't really match up with having the same Z bodyshape. That being said, do [tup] the idea of merging/reworking Xerneas and Yveltal's profiles by themselves, as it would free up The Marvelous Deer and Born-Again Immortality (to which the latter of these I have an idea for the new holder).

Seeing as numerous other pages do the same thing, I think doing as such is totally ok.

So this was a pre-existing idea from a disappeared contributor (worldofdrakan), don't know if it was proposed before but I think it's safe for me to make this profile a thing myself.

Suggesting: Fran Bow Dagenhart as Goddess of Phlebotinum Pills Reasoning: After we are introduced to Fran and how she ended up in Oswald Asylum, her therapist instructs her to take a new medication called Duotine, which is the only way to advance. She faints and wakes up days later, determined to leave, and she takes the Duotine with her because her cat said that "the medicine would show her where he is". The Duotine unlocks an alternate, bloodier view of the world (known as the Ultrareality), and it is necessary to proceed in the game. For one such instance, it is under the Duotine's effects that the vents are unlocked for her to escape the office when she gets locked in.

Also, what hall(s) would this go in? I've thought of Medical Miscellaneous and/or Narrative Actions, but I'm not too sure of these myself.

[down]Ah right, Objects makes more sense. Thanks smile

And now, for your second look at the dastardly duo. I am having trouble at coming up with enemies, so perhaps any tips/recommendations would be nice?

Ange le Carré & Princess Charlotte, Divine Pair of Similar Strangers (Ange: Princess Charlotte, A (from the Commonwealth's spy org, Control), Alice (during Episode 6), Chloe (during Episode 9), My Turtledove (by Princess) | Princess: Ange le Carré, Priscilla (during Episode 6)) as potential Demigoddesses for the Hall of Twins (House of Family & Relatives)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000_1_5.png
Ange to the left, Princess to the right...or is it the other way around?
  • Demigods; Ange may be in contention to be a Lesser Goddess
  • Symbols:
    • Ange: A Cavorite Ball
    • Princess: A turtledove with a crown on its head
  • Theme Song: The Other Side of the Wall
  • Alignment: True Neutral, swaying to all other Good & Neutral alignments
  • Portfolio: Ambiguously Gay, Ace Spies, Princess & Pauper, experts at the Twin Switch, Multilayered Disguising Of Each Other, True Companions, Icy Blue Eyes, Very Questionable Morality, Identical Strangers
  • Domains: Spies, Royalty, Disguises, Character Arcs
  • Heralds: The rest of Team White Pidgeon
  • Allies: The Spy Kids, H.G. Wells
  • Enemies: (Undecided)
    • Ange: (Undecided)
    • Princess: (Undecided)
  • Respects: Dawn
  • Respected by: The Hall of Investigative Work
  • Conflicting Opinion: The Halls of Heirs & Impostors and Impersonations
  • Ange le Carré & Princess Charlotte- one of them is a pickpocket-turned-royalty, and the other is royalty-turned-pickpocket, and who is who is always a 50/50. Their nearly-matching looks extend far down to their childhood, and while that may not be as much of a factor now, they've learned, as spies, to disguise for many scenarios- especially when they need to masquerade as the other. Their constant swapping will have most confused at first, even those close to them in terms of relationship, and they'd rarely slip up in acting as the other. Their bond is strong, and so is their ability to be the other- among other factors- that made them some of the best spies in the Commonwealth of Albion.
  • Their ascension was rather interesting; as the heralds of Carmen & Juni Cortez, Team White Pidgeon spent much of their visiting time in the Pantheon surveying everyone and everything. They slowly gathered intel of the many deities across the Pantheon through all sorts of methods, honing their skills and talents while staying under the radar. And for a good amount of time, nobody really seemed to care- that is, until Ange was caught in a restricted area in the House of Knowledge, perusing some pretty scandalous facts about some of the more questionable deities. However, when her trial in the Court of the Gods was finally held, it went along rather swimmingly, that is, until just after the end of the trial, when Eiki Shiki was just leaving the Court, she spotted Princess & Ange...talking about how they narrowly got away with that switch. Loose lips sink ships, and that resulted in a retrial, where Princess was rightfully deemed guilty for invasion of privacy, and Ange for perjury. However, Eiki decided to be nice about it all, and instead of punishing them, the judge decided that an ascension is in order, as their swap had fooled pretty much everyone, and going over the duo's history, she settled on ascending them under the Identical Stranger trope.
    • While they aren't necessarily approving of their methods at first, the Spy Kids were more than happy to learn that their Heralds (or at least some of them) had finally made the jump to ascend as well. These feelings were reciprocated by the duo, who were glad to finally be on equal standing with the Cortez family after quite a while. They've now begun collaborating on some, albeit, minor but unique, espionage projects together, as a way for Ange & Princess to get a better view of the intricacies and members of the Pantheon.
  • Many are quite confused at first as to why Ange & Princess were ascended under their trope, so the duo asked anyone curious to meet up with them at the House of Costumes one time. When most of the Hall of Investigative Work arrived, they set up a little game- both of them would dress up and masquerade in the House's Vêtements Palace Illimité, and Ange would be carrying with her a gold card; whoever would find Ange, wins. After some time idly waiting, the duo exited the changing rooms and counted to 60 before the participants went after them, resulting in a frantic and tense game of cat-and-mouse across the department store. When Princess, disguised as Ange, was finally cornered by James Bond & Solid Snake, it is revealed to the two master agents that she wasn't Ange. As for Ange, as Princess, she was basically out of sight for the whole game, only revealing herself after a full hour of searching, with many coming to ask her for "Ange's" whereabouts. Needless to say, when the duo took off their wigs and Ange flashed the card, they were all in disbelief, and word of this spread quickly.
  • The Hall of Heirs are rather perplexed at the duo. To be more specific, it comes down to the fact that one of them is the actual heir to their kingdom (though she is not exactly first in line) but doesn't want to take the throne, while the other is one who grew up in poverty but constantly seeks it anyway. Add to this conundrum that one may be the other at any given moment, and you have a headscratcher that has kept this whole Hall guessing.
  • The Hall of Impostors and Impersonators, to put it lightly, are just bamboozled. Despite being an infamous Hall in the Pantheon for stealing identities and perfecting the art of impersonation, even they couldn't tell if Ange or Princess is one or the other when either person (or both) enters. This has put the duo on quite the spotlight, as one day, they could be having a very tense time with Doctor Doom over tea, and the next, rumors would spread that they had located where Justin Pin is and are in contact with him.
  • Switching with royalty is like clockwork for the duo, having been in each other's shoes for quite a while, so getting used to each other's lives has been nothing short of interesting for them. Dawn once also did this switch with someone named Princess Salvia, who wanted to partake in a Pokémon Contest with her Togekiss, so they agreed to be in each other's shoes for the day. However, they almost immediately deduced this as something Tom and Edward would be more affinized with, but they still respected Dawn's effort at keeping up her masquerade.
  • Cavorite had been a very important part of Ange & Charlotte's world and its development; the gravity-defying mineral allowed the rise of inventions like the airship and the C-ball, the latter of which Ange personally owns one of. H.G. Wells, the author for The First Men in the Moon, was surprised to learn that the duo had possession of such an object, and that they had hailed from a Steampunk world where it is in abundance and in practical use. In a mailed request, the duo took him on a tour through Albion to learn how Cavorite operated in their world, and the effects it had on its people and the world's progress; needless to say, he was more than impressed.
Wells: To think that a world I have yet to hear of feels so much like one of my own...it truly amazes me, deeply. I give you my thanks, ladies.
  • The following apply to Ange specifically:
    • Ange is surprised to learn that there's another Ange in the Pantheon...who happens to be a former princess...who had her life turned upside down on a very impactful day...who then turned to a life of hardship and became a badass hardass, developing techniques in order to simply live...woah. They both even have a friend in the Pantheon named Charlotte! (Granted, The blonde Ange's Charlotte is not from the same world as she is, compared to the grey-haired one's) At that point, something had to happen, but instead, they both more than understood their respective situations and upbringings, and came to be friends over those many similarities. When seen together, the grey-haired Ange usually asks to be called by one of her aliases, Chloe or Alice, to avoid confusion.
    • If Ange is one thing, she is incredibly smart and attentive to detail, so much so that it's almost frightening. When she crossed paths with Sherlock Holmes one afternoon, a simple bit of exchanged glances between the duo had given them ample time to basically know everything they've done that day, up to that point. What Ange did not expect, however, was that Holmes would greet her as Princess Charlotte, her actual identity, and nearly resulted in the young spy drawing her revolver against the world-renowned detective. Since then, Ange has calmed down and became friends with him, sometimes tagging along (and usually in disguise) with Holmes and his own assistant, Watson.
  • The following apply to Princess specifically:
    • Despite being a member of royalty, Princess has more than her fair share of getting down and dirty if the situation calls for it, employing ruthlessness in her attitude and maybe abusing her status as royalty to get her other teammates into locations they normally cannot. Her sharp wit and quick cunning being well hidden behind her façade has earned her a kindred spirit with Lacus Clyne, a fellow princess with badassery underneath. They do tend to disagree on a few things- Princess isn't above using underhanded tactics and violence when it is really necessary, whilst Clyne is more of a pacifist and would like to solve problems without making more of them down the line.
    • Armed with The Promise that she would change the world into a happy one, one the real Princess wished for, Princess works tirelessly within the confines of her royal status to upend it and make the world a better place. This sentiment was shared with Rise Rousenin, who also wanted change, in the form of turning her school into a co-ed school in order for it to continue prospering. However, both were very much mixed in each other's views- Princess believes that Rise hadn't expanded her scope wide enough as she thinks there's other factors beyond it itself causing its downfall, whereas Rise criticizes Princess for taking her plans for reformation too far and deep, resorting to nearly cruel and very harsh tactics. Aside from these debates, however, they seem to be amicable enough as friends.

[up]Since one bullet mentions them having a tense time with Doctor Doom, maybe he could be on their enemies list?

Any responses to Crystal & Medley?

[up]It's less of "they're enemies" and more "they're fucking around in that hall and so they're getting fucked over but not making enemies"

Who was making the Animorphs' profile? I ask this because I have an Animorphs character on my ideas list, but I'd prefer to wait until that's finished before suggesting him.

@ Princess Charlotte: No relation to the Princess of Midland... although Griffith might take an interest.
