Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

[up] The inflammatory has been removed

I've managed to get a picture from nightelf, thank you kindly. He has also edited some things. With that in mind, who do you think would work as Isamu's proper ally, if anyone would?

Chiaki Hayasaka, Isamu Nitta and Hikawa, Divine Representations of Unconventional Alignment Systems

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chiaki_isamu_and_hikawa.jpg
Left to right:Chiaki, Isamu, and Hikawa
Chiaki and Isamu as humans
  • House: Plain Neutral (House of Ambiguity)
  • Intermediate Gods (formerly Quasideities) (Chiaki and Isamu), Lesser God (Hikawa). All aspire to be Greater Gods
  • Symbols: Their demonic sponsors, Baal Avatar (Chiaki), Noah (Isamu) and Ahriman (Hikawa)
  • Theme Song: The SMT III Reason Boss Theme
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil (Chiaki), Neutral Evil (Isamu), Lawful Evil (Hikawa)
  • Portfolio(all of them): Unconventional Alignment, Hypocrite
  • Domains: The Apocalypse, Philosophy, Demons, Change (all of them), Haughtiness, Wealth (Chiaki), Isolation, Nervousness (Isamu), Stoicism, Communications (Hikawa)
  • Heralds: YHVH's angels and weak Japanese demons (Chiaki), formless spirits (Isamu), fallen angels and ancient gods (Hikawa)
  • Allies: YHVH (all of them, as Kagutsuchi)
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with:
  • Enemies: Each other, Lucifer, Cosmos, Nekron, The Machine Council, Solf J Kimblee, Merged Zamasu, N Harmonia, Lelouch vi Britannia and Nunnally Lamperouge, Dante Sparda, Raidou Kuzunoha the 14th
  • Special Relationship: Naoki Kashima/The Demi-Fiend (We Used to Be Friends for Chiaki and Isamu)
  • Interests: Ghetsis Harmonia
  • Opposed by: Melkor, The Truth (all three)
  • The Conception was an apocalyptic event that destroyed the world outside of Tokyo, allowing it to be reborn. In this new Vortex World, someone with a Reason and demonic sponsor has the chance to shape the new world based off their ideology. The three main reasons are represented by three people-Chiaki Hayasaka, Isamu Nitta and Hikawa. The are Yosuga, Musubi and Shijima, representing social darwinism, solitude and self, and a world free of individuality or passion.
  • Applies to all or two of them:
    • The Trope Pantheon is used to the dual dichotomy of Order/Chaos, Good/Evil and neutrality. The SMT Multiverse is used to Law, Chaos and Neutrality. Though taking elements from each, the Reasons are unique in following neither conventional alignments. This has given some more unconventional gods hope that they may compete with the more common alignments.
    • Melkor was curious about these alignments since they're different from YHVH and Lucifer. Mainly he hoped they might throw a wrench in law and chaos' plans. Cosmos chided Melkor for thinking as such since further division would take away more support for evil just like the more grey alliances have already done. The Dark Lord redacted his interest before childishly saying the same applied to her. She's considered this, but isn't as worried since people are more likely to leave evil than they are good.
    • While they presently oppose the Demi-Fiend, after hearing of the alternate timelines where he has accepted each of their Reasons, they've each then attempted to appease him into doing so again. However, as an Agent of Balance, he's had to turn them down (violently in some cases). On a different note, some wonder: what friendship did Naoki have with Isamu and Chiaki prior to the Conception?
    • Each are considered hypocrites of a different stripe, which weakens their position in the pantheon. Chikai fails to live up to her survival of the fittest and only becomes powerful due to demonic intervention, which is why Senator Armstrong has reservations working with her. Isamu does nothing but ask for other's help, despite wanting people to be truly self-reliant. And Hikawa wants to create a world of stillness but is too passionate and chaotic for it to work out, which is why he gets along with Cyrus the most-they're both Not So Stoic to their plan's detriment. The Truth is deeply disappointed they are unable to properly know themselves, and retain the flaws they tried to overcome like Father did.
    • Solf J. Kimblee refuses to sign up any Reason because of their hypocrisy, while Lelouch and Nunnally can't stand any of their visions of the world. Zamasu (rather predictably) was rather vocal about his complete distaste for them due to being mortals hoping to shape the world. He claims he has his own Reason, Masayo, representing the purging of mortal life for the benefit of nature and the divine. And just like them his hypocrisy weakens his arguments and position in the pantheon.
    • N is upset at their hypocrisy and inability to go through with their own beliefs as it reminds him of his own struggle with his beliefs, and being fooled into following his own views. Ghetsis meanwhile finds the idea of Reasons fascinating, as he is all about manipulating other's views and ideologies for his singular, unidealistic vision. He hasn't gotten that far in implementing it, however.
  • Exclusive to Chiaki:
    • Chiaki Hayasaka, known as Chiaki Tachibana in the original Japanese, is from an upper class family and comes off as haughty as a result of her wealth. She envisioned Yosuba to keep herself from ever being part of the lower class, from paranoia and fear. Ironically despite its chaotic qualities, angels tend to side with her, along with a version of Thor(the one in the pantheon is no fan of hers). Because of her "might makes right" views she finds herself agreeing with Senator Armstrong and Vergil. The feeling isn't mutual, as while both see her as a step in the right direction neither feel she's dedicated and principled enough to champion it. Also she thinks the strong and weak are born and set in that position. Still, for now they're siding with her.
    • She has found Crystal Man and Junk Man a useful venue for wealth, though they have no idea on the kind of world she's creating. Princess Morbucks seems to like her since she wants to feel powerful and is a stuck-up rich kid. The more generous and kind rich people in the pantheon don't like her, particularly Charlie Bucket as he rose from poverty to riches on his own merit. He couldn't possibly fit into her worldview.
  • Exclusive to Isamu:
    • Isamu Nitta was a student alongside the Demi-Fiend and Chiaki Hayasaka, giving off the impression of a lazy and scared individual. He had an attraction towards his teacher Yuko Takao. His Reason of Musubi is an isolationist and solitary Lotus-Eater Machine for humanity, a viewpoint very few in the pantheon can agree on. The Anti-Spiral is one of the few who likes the idea and feels it's an acceptable means of containing Spiral Energy, as he has dabbled in the Lotus-Eater Machine tactic before. Given the Anti-Spiral's genocides, even this alliance is tenuous. He has also gotten Mongul's help to use the Black Mercy plants as part of his plan, though they only agree on that regard; Mongul simply wants a distraction for Earth's heroes and Isamu only sees him as a supplier. He considers the space dictator personally detestable.
    • Isamu has Noah as his demonic sponsor. This has only pissed off the actual Noah something fierce. Dagda is somewhat of a more humane version of him as he would rather kill the Japanese YHVH over choosing a Reason.
    • Shinji Ikari has dealt with an isolated world and the hedgehog dilemma. As such, he is completely opposed to the Reason of Musubi. The Crew of the Nebuchadnezzer, having experienced the world of the Matrix, think what he asks for is an even worse situation and one that could easily be seen as an inescapable Hell. Charlie Barkin has already experienced "Heaven" and feels much the same, and Team Dai-Gurren aren't fans either.
  • Exclusive to Hikawa:
    • Hikawa is the Chief Technical Director of a large communications company, and a high-ranking officer in the Cult of Gaea. Believing passion is dangerous, his Reason of Shijima would see the death of passion, a world without destruction and in permanent harmony. It's remarkably similar to Cyrus' vision of the world, or Keel Lorenz. Or the Cybermen for that matter, but mainly Cyrus. As such, he's naturally opposed to those who embody emotion. Ironically demons seem to like his lawful vision, seeing it as a sort of nirvana or enlightenment putting them on equal terms with God.
      • However, thanks to Hareta's intervention, Cyrus has become less likely to ally with Hikawa's vision, and thus has become his enemy, too.

Don't include the Drama CD version of events with the Reason Bearers. Saves a lot of hassle because it had two Demi-Fiends and everything.

In part Isamu's comment proves that such a relationship was doomed to failure as their Reasons were ideals they already had. T aken to their extreme conclusion due to their situation (Except Hikawa who already had his). Chiaki is the two things Drama CD Demi-Fiend dislikes: A weakling who won't stick up for herself(Before transformation) and a Bully who picks on the weak(After getting Gozu-Tennoh's power and massacring the Manikins).

@ Hagatha: Didn't know we could ascend such sick people in the Pantheon. The Hag, being skilled in the field of botany, is responsible for the Weald's infestation of fungi. Ranging from zombies born/enslaved by fungi, to blobs of goo that reproduce, it can be traced back to her and her crones. The Crimson Court's Countess' blood is responsible for the rest of the Courtyard becoming a literal bloody hellhole full of vampires, to the point where it can even animate a statue to life. She proves to be of a grander scale as it was also her blood that drove the Ancestor to every one of his monumental failures, which included the Hag's corruption.

Anything else for Vaal and the Vale?

  • Enemies: Miraak, Gwyn, Gravelord Nito, Ornstein and Smough, Acnologia, Abusive Precursors, Nurgle, Albert Wesker, Typhus, Grima
  • Source of Interest for: The House of Science
  • Opposed by/Opposes: The Monster Hunters, The Hunter, the Dragonborn and other dragonslayers, House of Fire And Electricity
  • Taking one good look at the necropolis that is the Rotten Vale, you may think to yourself that no creatures there would ever survive. Staying a while, and assuming you're careful when traversing the place, you can find a bunch of monsters that make their home there in spite of the inhospitable conditions. And deep within the pits of the Rotten Vale, usually underneath a large mound of rotting flesh, lives an Elder Dragon just as dead looking as the environment it sustains. The Corpse Coat Dragon, Vaal Hazak. With an almost supernatural control over the miasma that blankets the deeper parts of the Rotten Vale, this Elder Dragon made itself known to the Pantheon after its very own signature haze started blanketing the House of Slaughter. While lesser creatures that happened to roam there went berserk, the House of Investigative Work looked into what was causing it. Having done their own research in the New World, and fully understanding who's behind it all, the Monster Hunters lead various deities to the deeper parts of the House until they found the monster itself roaming around. They managed to relocate it through bringing over its proper biome, after fighting it of course, and had to ascend it in the process.
  • Before you ask, no. While it most certainly looks dead, and is capable of bringing dead monsters back to life with the Effluvium, and it no doubt invokes the idea of a Dracolich it is not actually one. Believe or not, it is just as much as a living creature as any other monster, even as an Elder Dragon. Part of its appearnce comes from actually wearing the hide of another monster to cover for its weakness to the Dragon Element. Not to mention its "necromancy" is more of the bacteria puppeting around the small monsters and doesn't seem to be able to control larger monsters. When it comes to the Dracoliches in the Pantheon, Vaal's relationship with them isn't exactly positive. Compared to them, the Elder Dragon isn't at all malicious or as destructive.
  • Normally, contact with the Effluvium slowly drains one's health overtime until you get out of it or repel the surrounding fog with fire. Contact with Vaal's Effluvium is not only much more condensed despite dispersing faster, but being in Vaal Hazak's Effluvium may have the chance of cutting your health in half, which can be very crippling especially if you got it as its shooting a stream of gas at you where you're quick to fall in battle. Even if you avoid being hit after being afflicted, there's still the chance of it absorbing back the Effluvium from those who have it as a means to replenish itself and damaging its opponents. As an Elder Dragon that utilizes a unique biological status, it earned some comparisons to Gore and Shagaru Magala. While the two have little reason to be near each other, many believe they could hit it off if they did meet.
  • As an Elder Dragon, Vaal Hazak likely witnessed or has at least knows about the Ancient Civilization and their atrocities involving Elder Dragons such as the conception of the Equal Dragon Weapon. While not as vindictive towards humanity now and won't attack them on sight lest provoked, unlike the Fatalis trio, it's a very bad idea to even be associated with Abusive Precursors or really do anything that isn't any different from the Ancient Civilization like treating it as nothing but something to be used. Examples include Arthas wanting to turn Vaal Hazak into an actual Dracolich, one the Lich King believes to have a much greater potential in becoming a Frost Wyrm than any other. When it comes to its powers, Miraak wants to gain control of it, planning to use its hazardous vapors to kill off pretty much everyone that tries to defy him but has butted heads with Bowser who also wants in on Vaal Hazak's power, having brainwashed the Ruined Dragon before. The likes of Albert Wesker, Typhus, and Nurgle also wish to utilize it in their future machinations.
    • Speaking of the Equal Dragon Weapon, it at first didn't realy care much of Grima despite both being supposed undead dragons other than the fact its a destructive entity, but after discovering it is an artificial dragon created by a foolish human alchemist that would soon usher in a potential Bad Future in its world, Vaal Hazak quickly became enemies with the Fell Dragon. The mere sight of Grima's Risen is enough to stir Vaal Hazak into a frenzy.
  • While Elder Dragons are shown to be much more intelligent than a majority of other monsters outside of their classification, Vaal Hazak deserves a special mention for wearing the hide of another monster to cover for its weakness to the Dragon Element, which is a good indicator of a monster's intelligence as its damage is affected by how intelligent its target is. Another mention goes to it resting in areas that are incredibly hazardous to its attackers, such as pools of acid.
  • Vaal's presence in the Pantheon has resulted in other unfavorable attention from other deities. It being a dragon the likes of Gwyn, Nito, Ornstein, and Smough all have it against Vaal Hazak due to their experiences with the Everlasting Dragons and are insistent at putting it down despite its influence towards the environment while Acnologia looks down upon Vaal due to its role of sustaining both the Rotten Vale and by extension the Coral Highlands, seeing it as nothing but aiding those lesser than dragons. It's safe to say Vaal Hazak has a frigid relationship with all dragonslayers, most notably the Dragonborn although Paarthurnax is working on recitfying such a relationship. A dragon Vaal may be, slaying it will do more harm than good.
  • Vaal Hazak's name derives from the Warrior Heaven Valhalla, obviously referencing its affinity with death, and the Semitic God Baal, or what many better know as Beelzebub.
  • There are those who wish to study the Elder Dragon for more benevolent purposes in the Pantheon, however. When it comes to its symbiotic relationship with the Effluvium, the House of Science couldn't let that mystery be and has tried looking into it further, helping out the Monster Hunters with the research. Vaal Hazak tolerates it to an extent, but if it senses anything wrong it'll spray Effluvium on those who threatened it.
  • May or may not have a sore spot for those well versed in the Ansatsuken such as the likes of Ryu, Ken, and Gouken.
  • Considering its importance to the ecosystem of the Rotten Vale, it can't really leave to interact with the rest of the Pantheon. Even being stirred can potentially have disastrous results on the very necropolis it presides over. And considering the nature of the Rotten Vale itself, few have any good reason to go deep enough to peacefully interact with it. The Nameless King is among that few to ever do such a thing, but if he does it's usually to just appease it so that it doesn't ruin everything. It may change when Gwyn, his father who disowned him, and his forces actually try to start something with the Elder Dragon. Researching into the Great Dragon War and the events that lead up to it seemed to cut something deep, the Nameless King not wanting to think about if the same fate befell the King of the Storm were it to interact with the Ancient Civilization. Aside from him, the Nature Preservers also are willing to watch over and defend Vaal Hazak for its role, as morbid it may be. Death and decomposition is still natural, after all.
    • There was one time were Umbrella Corporation's Mooks disturbed the Elder Dragon in a failed attempt to capture it. After wiping them all out, it was forced to exit the Rotten Vale after Bowser and his forces decided to use this opportunity to try and control Vaal Hazak, but they were quickly halted by the Nature Preservers. Miraak meanwhile took to pursuing Vaal Hazak but ended up encountering the Dragonborn while they were on to pacifying Vaal. Given their history, they prioritized fighting each other while the Elder Dragon escaped. Vaal Hazak ended up being convinced to stop by the likes of Ash Ketchum after he saw it moving around the Pantheon and attempted to befriend it like he did with other Legendary Pokémon. Seeing the trainer harbor no ill intent, Vaal Hazak soon calmed down.
  • Considering the amount of comments regarding various things as "the Dark Souls of X", many are inclined to believe Vaal Hazak is a product of all of those comments coagulating into a physical being. Its presence has also earned some comparisons to Bloodborne and while it's no Eldritch Abomination, the Hunter is ready to subdue Vaal should it try to start trouble. Vaal's use of Effluvium also makes people think it's just weaponizing vaping.

The Rotten Vale, Holy Seat of Carrion-Filled Lands

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/d4d3688c_9d26_475e_a309_4e27648aec04.jpeg
  • Potential House: Other Dominions?
  • [tup]s: 1 (RJ) July 8th
  • Description: A biome defined by corpses and skeletons
  • Symbol: A pile of corpses and bones emanating with a Deadly Gas
  • Theme Song: Murmurs from the Land Forbidden
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Bleak Corpse Land, Where Elder Dragons go to die, Dalamadur Ribcage, The Fourth Unlockable Area
  • Domains: Carrion, Death, Cycles, Life
  • Sacred to: Vaal Hazak
  • Interest: The House of Science, The Viscount
  • Similar Locations: Wyvern's End
  • The Rotten Vale can only really be described as a massive graveyard, with carrion found no matter where you go and the only common flora found there is fungi meant to decompose the many dead monsters. The very ecosystem is built around the fact that it's a necropolis, with monsters like Odogaron or Great Girros and its respective pack relying on the freshly dead falling into the pits. As expected from scavengers like them, they're very vicious and won't hesitate to attack on sight especially if they're hungry. Radobaan, a cousin to the more rocky monster Uragaan, uses the tar on its body to cover itself with various bones to act as armor and simultaneously eats bones. Whatever detritus is left here is blown upwards to the biome that lies above, the Coral Highlands, where it helps sustain it by providing nutrients much like marine-snow and upwelling, ocean aside. Though it's not a necropolis like the Rotten Vale, the Coral Highlands were brought to the Pantheon to as to not mess with the ecosystem. Usually creatures on their deathbed come here to further the cycle. If people other than the Monster Hunters come somewhere along this place, it's either to come gawk at the land above it that was brought over or to do research often backed by the House of Science.
  • Being an Elder Dragon with a potent connection to its Effluvium, Vaal Hazak makes its home here and never really leaves the place. It would be pretty disastrous if it did so, even being active is enough to shake the ecosystem of the Rotten Vale. There have been those who tried to use Vaal for their own malicious purposes, but the Corpse Coat Dragon alongside other deities tend to drive them off. Even so, the Vale is as dangerous as it is what with a Deadly Gas being prominent in the lower areas in addition to the hostile wildlife even as little as Girros or the normally docile Raphinos.
  • As expected of a place littered with the dead, it caught the attention of many Necromancers trying to add undead monsters to their ranks. In theory, it would mean ground zero for all forms of dead raising but in practice, it's not as great. Since the ecosystem is built around whatever dead falls into the Rotten Vale, monsters waste little to no time trying to get whatever carrion in their stomachs and trying to get in the way of a ravenous Great Girros or worse, an Odogaron is really not advised. That doesn't some from trying anyone but whether that's just determination or foolishness, you decide. The Rotten Vale also smells pretty awful.
  • Those who enjoy the consumption of rotten meat or just plain out junk enjoy their trips to this place as opposed to the House of Food's... actual food. One abhorrent frequenter to the Rotten Vale is the Viscount of the Crimson Court, who's claim to infamy is eating virtually everything, and the flesh here is of no exceptions. After the many times it got kicked out of fear his vampirism would corrupt the land itself, he stuck to exporting it instead.

@ Fasoman: Ganondorf, in his Breath of the Wild incarnation, generates a substance called Malice, which almost devastated Hyrule until Link stopped him. Aside from Link, another monster hunter who could oppose Hagatha would be Geralt of Rivia, who hunts monsters for a living.

@ Crownless: Paarthurnax could try to keep peace between Vaal Hazak and the Dragonborn, all things considered. Ash Ketchum would try to befriend Vaal Hazak the same way he does with other Legendary Pokémon.
@ Mizerous: Eto could have trouble if she comes into conflict with the Martian Manhunter, who is not only a skilled telepath, his Healing Factor trumps hers.
@ Clovis: Luke Skywalker could oppose the Reasons for reaching Palpatine-levels of hypocrisy. Malcolm Reynolds, who understands the need of believing in something greater than oneself, would dislike them for valuing their own lives over their ideals.
@ Nightelf: Good ally for Slughorn would be Spock, because sometimes logic calls for helping others in exchange for tangible future benefits and Batman, who understands the pragmatic benefits of Slughorn's trope. Nice Job Breaking It, Hero would be better suited to the protagonist of a work (or at least a major character), not just someone who belongs to a series' backstory. Doppelgänger Gets Same Sentiment would have to feature both the person who feels the sentiment and the person who receives that sentiment. The Dai Li for Secret Police are fine, though.
Two good deities for the Pantheon would be Ichiro Sato and Ryoko Sato for Break-Up/Make-Up Scenario. Both characters become emotionally dependent on each other and their brief separation is a terrible experience for them, making their reunion all the more heartwarming.

What more should I add to Surtr?

Surtr, God of Setting The World Ablaze (Surtur, Surt, King of the Fire Giants)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_3871.JPG
Surtur as depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
  • Votes: 1(fasoman1996)
  • House: Fire and Electricity (House of Nature)
  • Greater God
  • Symbol: His flaming sword, Laveteinn
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Our Giants Are Bigger, Evil Is Burning Hot, Ending The World, Having A Kickass Sword, Flaming Sword, Light Is Not Good, Possibly Surviving Ragnarok, Arbiter Of Grim Fate, Kill the God, Hero Killer, Exists To Destroy And Little Else, Large and in Charge, possible Karma Houdini, Playing with Fire
  • Domains: Fire, The Apocalypse, Giants, Destruction, Swords
  • Allies: Ragnaros the Firelord, Brand, Fenrir, Apophis, the Lich, Nekron and the Grand United Alliance of Destruction, Aerys II Targaryen, The Grox, Deathwing the Destroyer, the Firebird
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Lucifer
  • Enemies: Every deity from Norse Mythology, especially Thor, Ra, all Marvel Comics deities(and pretty much everyone else) who aren't omnicidal maniacs, YHVH, Nurgle, Yveltal, Heatran, Alexstrasza, Leeloo, Finn the Human
  • Respects: Beerus, Destruction and Destiny of the Endless
  • Interested in: Kratos, Aleph
  • One of the Nine Realms is Muspelheim, a realm of fire where the fire giants dwell and the first realm to emerge from the primordial void. Ruling them is Surtr(also pronounced Surtur), a Destroyer Deity with a flaming sword. When Ragnarok comes along, he is one of the major players on the side of destruction and the end of all. He will do battle with Frey, and bring forth the flames that will engulf the Earth. And he possesses more than enough strength to make that more than a prophecy.
  • Defined more by the threat he poses than an actual character, Surtr usually waits until Ragnarok is near before taking action. If his Marvel incarnation is any indication, he's rather cordial. And he may have been content to wait where it not for learning of the countless battles in the pantheon between good, evil, law, chaos and machinery. He interprets that as Ragnarok, and that it's time for the clean slate Ragnarok and his flames would bring.
  • Naturally fatalistic, he takes keen interest in the House of Prophecy. He has deep respect for Destiny of the Endless due to perceiving himself as an arbiter of fate. Leeloo hates him for representing such an apocalyptic prophecy, having faced off against "Mr Shadow"/the Evil. The fact that he was destined to destroy Asgard was exploited by Thor for having him take out Hela and Asgard once everyone was evacuated. Thus he destroyed Asgard with only the BigBad as a fatality, defeating the point of his mission.
  • Siding with the Grand United Alliance of Destruction was natural for a being who exists to end the world. Surtr found immediate kinship with Apophis as they have the same function in their faiths-seek the extinction of all life. That similarity is also why Ra considers eliminating him very important. Scarily enough, he feels a kinship with the Lich. The Lich embodies mass extinction and nuclear holocaust, as he does the fiery apocalypse that the Norse foresaw.
  • Given what he is, the majority of deities oppose him. It's also hard for him to muster much hatred for others, but an exception to that would be YHVH. Not because of His morality, but because He represents stagnation in the Fire Giant's eyes-a world in lockstep to Law, not having the freedom to change is completely antithetical to an agent of change like himself. He feels the same about Nurgle's desire to preserve life to the microbial level, as horrible as that can become. His opposition to Law is helped by being one of the three Chaos lieutenants, though would like to remind Lucifer it's a part-time gig. He does respect the Fallen Angel enough to get along as he's a fellow agent of change.
  • Has a heated alliance with Zamasu, due to the rogue Kaioshin's hypocrisy and narcissism. Like him, Zamasu(specifically Goku Black and Future Zamasu) ushered in the death of the other gods and hope to terminate all other intelligent life. However Zamasu still holds on to the belief that he is bringing a better world, and thinks the flames Surtr brings would sully the world's beauty. However like the GUAD, the King of the Fire Giants is far too useful for him to take out gods and mortals that challenge his vision. They've made no bones about trying to kill each other the nanosecond one no longer needs the other.
    • For the time he also works with Mem Aleph as she seeks to effectively destroy the world to spring life anew. Given their different methods, this is a temporary arrangement and like Zamasu will eventually turn on the Fire Giant.
  • A Destroyer Deity, he has a cordial relationship with Destruction of the Endless. Sure, Destruction isn't evil and has retired, but he's Affably Evil enough to respect his old position and seniority. And while not villainous, Beerus is destructive and amoral enough that Surtr can respect him as well. Yveltal, however, doesn't like his evil nature when it comes to destruction.
  • Finn the Human believes he has some sort of relationship with the Fire Kingdom and his ex-girlfriend Fire Princess. Surtr thinks so, believing Fire Elementals and Fire Giants both emerged from the same primal fire at the dawn of time. Finn's experience with the Fire Kingdom and history of opposing evil makes him a Worthy Opponent in Surtr's eyes as well. Though seeking to destroy the world, he's seen to show kindness towards other "life of the flame".
  • Considers himself the Nine Realms counterpart to Ragnaros the Firelord and Brand. As they seek to burn the whole world and are fire elementals, it's natural they'd get along. He gets along with Deathwing the Destroyer and the Firebird for being fiery heralds of the apocalypse as well. Alexstrasza was horrified at another fiery destroyer ascending. Heatran is avoiding Surtr out of disgust for being an evil bringer of fiery death, and the fact Surtr is interested in the Pokemon's destructive potential.
  • Pyromaniac were very happy to see Surtr ascend. King Aerys wants to test wildfire compared to what Surtr can do, in hopes of finally burning down King's Landing and even Westeros if he feels like it. The Grox wanted Surtr to burn down the world, as it would make it more habitable for them.
  • Interested in Kratos for his ability to destroy the gods, and Aleph for the same reason along with how he managed to slay YHVH. Knowing how they react to being used, this can only end badly for Surtr.

Copied in from the Restructure thread, though it probably is more appropriate here since it is effectively is a new profile...

I was looking through the GUAG Support Staff last month and came up with two possible new Divisions for the GUAG:

GUAG Animal Advocates

For the vast majority of the wild creatures, the only Law is the Law of the Jungle: "kill or be killed". They usually don't have the interest in fighting for a greater cause, much less their fellow beings.

That's where this group comes in. These gods know how to befriend (they REFUSE to call it "Taming") creatures of all sorts. At a minimum, they try to get the critters out of the battle lines. Sometimes, fortune smiles upon these tireless advocates, gaining them (and the GUAG) valuable allies in the fight for Good.

Leader: Steve Irwin Members: Ash Ketchum, Fluttershy (transferred from Medical), Ma-Ti, Mowgli

Arthur Curry is often called in whenever aquatic creatures are involved. Captain Planet and The Lorax are also good friends with the group, as animals are part of nature. It's rumored that, with the inclusion of Curry, the Advocates can be made to summon Captain Planet if they have the proper equipment; Steve Irwin would be Ma-Ti's backup in that case.

GUAG Cowboy Cop Division:

Who Watches the Watchmen?? These guys. Whenever a Miscarriage of Justice is imminent, these guys get to the Truth and convey it to the Hallowed Defense Practisoners. They are also on the lookout for corruption or overzealousness within the system.

And if one of the GUAG gets out of line, they deal with that too.

The methods of several members of this group have made them anathema to the Grand United Alliance of Law, though they do have a working relationship with the Magistrates.

Commissioner: Godotnote  Special Agents: Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Peter Burke Detectives: Jacques Clouseau, L, Adrian Monk, Sherlock Holmes Security: Jill Valentine, Officer Jenny

@ Clovis: [tup] for Surtr, who could be enemies with the House of Water And Ice for obvious reasons, the Green Lantern Corps, who oppose entities bent on cosmic destruction on a regular basis and lifebringers and protectors of nature like Xerneas, Swamp Thing and the Life Entity. Also, another enemy for Chiaki of the Reasons could be Serena van der Woodsen, who would see Chiaki as an evil version of her friend Blair. For context, Serena and Blair are complete opposites, with Blair having all the ambition and drive in the world while Serena normally running away from responsibility. It's not until the end of Gossip Girl that Serena realizes she has to grow up and her opposition towards Chiaki would be a good sign of her Character Development, but not before giving Chiaki a chance to find the better person within her; again, another sign of Serena's Character Development.

@ Nightelf: [tup] for Lewis.
