King of the Royal Mounted
is an America Adventure/Northern comic strip series created by Stephen Slesinger, known as the father of the licensing industry, in 1935 as a Sunday comic. In 1936, additional strips were made for the daily newspapers. The comic is about a Canadian Mounted police officer named Dave King who always catches his man. The comic strip was syndicated throughout its run by King Features Syndicate. The comic ended in 1955, 2 years after Slesinger had passed away.
The comic was adapted into a feature film in 1936 by 20th Century Fox. It was also adapted into 3, 12 part film serials between 1940 to 1942 by Republic, each staring Allan "Rocky" Lane.
