@TPPR: You may be right, but KR Knight didn't use a cape all the time, he only used a cape whenever he combines with his contract monster or when he assumes his Super Mode only.

This is all Zi-O's fault!

Again, watching through the House of Sadness and Children, I found a few problematic profiles:

  • N and Pacifica shares Abusive Parents (which is also somewhat problematic because I think the trope should go to the parents)
  • N and the Winchesters share The Woobie, which is a VERY generic trope.

I don't know what the solution is, but I'm really tempted to delete Pacifica and the Winchesters.

[up] For one, Ghestis Harmonia already has Abusive Parents.

Also, I've heard someone else (possibly nightelf37) wanted to change Pacifica's trope to Reformed Bully.

[up]Ghetsis represents the perpetrator in the Abusive Parents trope, but that still leaves representation of the character on the receiving end of the abuse free.

@r-lock. I tried going (or slogging) through their character pages and unsurprisingly, no tropes that both of them are similar with are not taken.

This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind.. ∩(·ω·)∩ WAIT, is this supposed to be the mistress herself?

[up] I would have made a long comment about how someone actually familiar with either franchise could have looked at what's available via character pages and the database (and not complain about certain works while doing so), but I'm going to keep it short: if n3xus wants to find a trope for Keiko and rework her, then that's fine; but I don't know anyone who would rework Caro with a different trope.

Moving on to more relevant matters, here's the Man With No Name, now with a new title. I assume Spaghetti Western would fit in the new "Narrative Genres" subhouse when that gets up, correct? Anyways, any more suggestions for fixing or adding or does it look fine?

The Man With No Name, High Prophet of Spaghetti Westerns (Joe, Manco, Blondie, The Stranger, The Hunter, The Bounty Killer, Americano, Mister Sudden Death, Señor Ninguno, Nameless, No Name)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the-man-with-no-name_5390.jpg
  • Demigod
  • Theme Music: A Fistful of Dollars; For a Few Dollars More; The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Symbol: A black hat, a poncho, and a Smith & Wesson revolver
  • Portfolio: Spaghetti Western, Badass Poncho, Nice Hat, Bounty Hunter, The Drifter, The Stoic, The Gunslinger, Quick Draw, Improbable Aiming Skills, No Name Given, Good Is Not Nice, Anti-Hero
  • Domains: Westerns, Drifters, Stoicism
  • Followers: Sartana, Django, Juan Miranda
  • Allies: John Wayne, John Marston, Jesse McCree, The Lone Ranger
  • Rivals: Yosemite Sam, Erron Black, Hol Horse, Boba Fett, Gondar the Bounty Hunter
  • Opposed by: Gwangi
  • Odd Friendship with: Dirty Harry, Jotaro Kujo
  • Mysterious Protector towards: Jill McBain
  • A drifter of few words, this man has traveled across the wild west visiting a number of towns. He is easily identifiable through his hat, his poncho, and the fact that he is quick on the draw with his revolver. While he may be just looking for a bounty that can provide good money, he has a sense of honor and many of the people he has gone up against are morally reprehensible in different ways.
  • In his travels, he somehow managed to find a place that is unlike any other place he had been to. He decided to stay at what is known as the Pantheon as it provided plenty of opportunities to take on jobs for money and possibly clean out whatever corruption there is at that place. That said, his temple is merely a place for him to rest since he still travels frequently to other places.
  • Despite what his moniker would suggest, he has been given a few nicknames from some of the people that he has encountered in his travels. That said, none of those nicknames are considered to be his official name. The various other aliases he has don't count as well. And neither do the nicknames that some of the deities came up for him as well.
  • Before becoming a bounty hunter, he was originally a ranch hand that had to put up with another, crueler hand known as Carvell. Conflict later lead to a shootout with the latter hand getting killed. The Man with No Name then became a bounty hunter after it was discovered that Carvell was a wanted man, alongside the fact that the bounty reward for Monk Carver (who Carvell actually was) was higher than the pay at the ranch.
  • Gwangi, a dinosaur, is rather antagonistic towards him given that it had come into conflict against cowboys in the past. While he feels a bit more indifferent than anything at the fact that a creature that he largely didn't know about until told about it hates him, he is willing to take down the dinosaur if given a job to do so, even if such a thing is potentially more difficult than his normal targets.
  • One of his more notable encounters throughout his travels was with Dirty Harry, a man who looked a lot like the cowboy. Both are anti-heroic figures who rely on a revolver as their main weapon, but while the cowboy goes into action whenever he is offered to take on something, the cop is much more active in trying to deliver justice. In any case, the two hold brief conversations with each other whenever they meet.
  • He didn't really expect to have much in common with Jotaro Kujo, but his meeting with him proved otherwise. Putting aside the fact that The Man with No Name is a wandering bounty hunter and Jotaro is a Japanese man with a supernatural fighting style that has encountered a lot of weird things, the two are very capable men that are able to keep a cool head even when things become serious. Jotaro even quoted (or at least paraphrased) one of the cowboy's lines at one point.
    • Jotaro also told him during one of their talks that there was a bounty hunter who had a bit of a cowboy-like attitude and a revolver that tried targeting Jotaro and his group in the past (Jean-Pierre Polnareff had a talk with Jotaro after the latter's initial meeting with The Man with No Name and brought up one of such pursuers to Jotaro). Not long after, The Man with No Name went around looking for that person and it brought him to Hol Horse. An improptu duel ensued and it ended with Hol Horse getting shot. The Man with No Name told Hol Horse that had it not been for the latter's cockiness, he would have been a formidable adversary (especially consider what Hol Horse is capable of...in theory, at least).
  • It was obvious that he wasn't the only bounty hunter around and heard about some others in his field, regardless of the time period that they came from (and in Lockdown's case, size). Oddly enough, some see Boba Fett as something of a futuristic counterpart for the cowboy due to their stoicism and how, of all things, the cowboy's poncho and Boba Fett's armor have a similar color scheme.
  • Being a cowboy, he encountered others like him during his travels and is fairly good acquaintances with much of them even if their meetings only happen infrequently to begin with. In particular, he sees Jesse McCree as having a lot in common with him.
    • He also heard that there was an outlaw or two running around, though he considers Yosemite Sam to be more of a nuisance compared to the much more serious threats The Man with No Name had originally gone up against.
  • While the two generally don't meet up with each other under normal circumstances, he has served as a bit of a protector towards Jill McBain. It's understandable, considering that Jill has gone through a lot of hell originally (and that her options to defend herself are limited) and that The Man with No Name will help someone whenever necessary (like what happened when he met a family that was caught between a war between rival gangs).

Bilbo and Frodo Baggins, Gods of Hobbits (Bilbo: Thief in the Shadows)

  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Hobbits, Good Is Not Soft, Badass Normals, Having the Same Weapon Of Choice, Badass Family Members.
  • Domains: Nature, Adventure (especially for Bilbo), Friendship, Hardship (for Frodo).
  • Superior: J.R.R. Tolkien.
  • Followers: Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck and Peregrin "Pippin" Took, as well as all Halflings.
  • Allies: Aragorn, Gandalf, Samwise "Sam" Gamgee, Gimli and Legolas (all for Frodo), Finn the Human, Jake the Dog (for both), Thrall, Gillius Thunderbeard, Lor'themar Theron, Drizzt
  • Rival: Raistlin Majere
  • Enemies: Sauron, Melkor, The Witch King of Angmar, Gollum, Warboss Ghazghkul.
  • Annoys: Belkar Bitterleaf
  • Fears: Kevin
  • Originally Frodo wanted to represent the title alone until he realized that his adoptive uncle Bilbo ventured before him, and as a result, both of them join to the Pantheon. As one of the original fantasy protagonists, they are held to a high regard throughout the Pantheon.
  • Frodo's reunion with Samwise was a joyous, tearful one as the friends embraced each other, laughing merrily. Bilbo was happy for his adopted nephew, but sad that his old friends weren't ascended. Gandalf for his part promised to do his part to bring some of them over. Bilbo can't tell if he had seen Legolas before, as that only happened in the movies.
  • Bilbo was surprised to learn that not only had he become younger when he ascended (to the point where he looked like he did when he set out on his adventure with Gandalf, Thorin, and co.), but he gained the ability to drastically change his appearance, from this to this!
  • It is said that Sauron holds a hatred of the hobbits that is a fraction of AM's hatred of humans (it may not seem much, but AM's rage is unmatched by any other deity). The destruction of the ring remains one of his greatest failures and the source of disdain from his master Melkor. He has made it his mission to burn the hobbits' temple to the ground with their heads on a pike.
    • Justified, since The Hobbit serves as the prequel to The Lord of the Rings. Unfortunately, his series was not as well received as his son's. With that said, his book was successful enough to justify sharing the role.
  • Neither want to be anywhere near Gollum. A good thing too, because Gollum swore to rip the two apart for destroying the ring and his body in the process. They both thought they could be friends with the emancipated humanoid, but it was apparent that Gollum only holds loyalty to the ring.
  • If there is one small-race creature that revels in defying their originators, it's Belkar. He amassed an impressive amount of halfling followers who mock the Baggins for their stereotypical ways. Even his slight change of heart does little to stop him from harassing them. There is one thing he won't berate: Bilbo's cooking. The halfling is humble enough to at conceded the title of best cook to him.
  • One would scoff at the prospect of a good-natured Orc, but that is what Thrall hopes to encourage. Once skeptical, the hobbits now embrace the project, hoping to draw more orcs to his temple. Thrall hopes to unite the Horde to the cause.
    • Not if Warboss Ghazghkul has anything to say about it. He saw to it that his legion stays loyal to Melkor and his goons. With the nature of orcs in general, it's difficult to change things. He has also led armies to storm the hobbits' temple, though it has been repeatedly rebuffed by the ascended Fellowship members as well as all good-aligned members of Fantastic Races.
  • Remains on good terms with all the other fantasy races in the Pantheon. Gillius and Lor'themar have both pledged their support and will defend their temple from any invasion.
    • While they were sad that Drizzt had to leave the subhouse, they were at least relieved that he can stay in the Pantheon, albeit with unwanted company. They agreed to help Drizzt remove the stigma of the drow and continue to do so even when he fell out of favor with his own kind.
  • He was advised by his son to visit a human called Watson. At first he was unsure that he could be friends, but when he found the subhouse of Chatacter Roles he was astonished to see a man who looked like his younger self... only quite taller. The doctor also enjoyed his cooking quite well.
  • One villain in particular used this to his advantage. Bilbo thought he could do a similar thing to a certain man with glasses. It turned into a horrifiyng ordeal as the man kidnapped him in order to get a taste. Thankfully, Frodo amassed an impressive search and rescue team that quickly found his father. The prospect of sharing the same avatar as a Serial Killer sends shivers to his spine to this day.
  • FRODO SHOULD UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES BE CONFUSED WITH A POKEMON! Many a Pokeman fan groaned at the prospect of answering that question with ease only for the contestant to get stumped at the answer.
  • Raistlin fails to see the appeal of the two halflings compared to his own adventures with the Heroes of the Lance. He is only an allies out of circumstances and has never shown true loyalty to the Fellowship or anyone in that matter. The halflings can only rely on him to keep a promise, something that is difficult to get out of him.

Stan Lee, God of Comic Books (The Man [Lee])

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stan_lee_5.jpg
  • Greater God
  • Symbol: A generic 22-page comic book
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Comic Books, Superheroes, Editors' Notes, Trope Codifier of Added Alliterative Appeal and Creator Cameo, Cool Old Guy with a small dose of Grumpy Old Man
  • Domains: Craft, Glory, Repose, Wealth.
  • Followers: Every Comic Book creator before and since.
  • High Priests: Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko
  • Allies: Every comic book deity in the Pantheon, especially the Marvel Universe, Iroh, Sheldon Cooper, Chuck Bartowski, Phineas and Ferb, Robot Chicken
  • Enemies: Mephisto... or rather the forces that had him make that deal, Judge Doom
  • Fears: Walt Disney
  • There was once a time when Stan Lee stared the title with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Stan's personality was so great, that he decided to take over the temple himself. The other two more or less agreed to step down. Jack Kirby can at least keep his title as the One Above All in the Marvel Universe.
  • DC deities see him as a Friendly Rival at worse; they all know the importance of his role in comic books even if they arrived first. That goes double for anyone from outside the big two.
  • Upon hearing that Stan Lee was referred to as "The Man", Ric Flair immediately issued a challenge to the comic lords, stating that, "To be The Man, you've got to beat The Man! Wooooooo!" This challenge is, as yet, unanswered.
    • On the other hand, Stan Lee dislikes sidekicks... this was the main reason to kill off Bucky for long time, until his suppressive return as the Winter Soldier, and "The Man" changed his opinion of him.
  • Stan Lee can be an ass-kicker depending on his version. In one universe, he had the powers of The Hulk and Spider-man. In another, he's a founding member of SHIELD acting as a school janitor.
    • Also is glad to see Spider-man as a liason in the Toku Base, seeing as he was happy that a Japanese Spider-Man was able to help fight against evil.
      • Stan has once eaten at Hell's Kitchen, considering on making a comic on the aspiring chefs who cooked his meal that night.
  • Out of all of his creations, Spider-Man remains his baby, taking part of every aspect of the character as well as his supporting cast. While he has been supportive of the works of most of his creators, he remains a fan of the pairing of Peter and Mary Jane. His strip depicts an alternate universe where they are still together.
  • Stan Lee often makes cameos in all the major events in the pantheon. Incredibly, he can appear in the MCU as well as the Fox and Sony universes. He remains a fan of Spider-Man in all his incarnations.
    • Was surprisingly a villain in Ultimo as Dr. Roger Dunstan. He stated he rather enjoyed his time figuring out whether good or evil is more overwhelming.
  • Unsurprisingly has a lot in common with Iroh, the resident Cool Old Guy. Iroh loved his comic strips while Stan Lee admits he makes a great cup of tea despite preferring coffee.
  • There is growing fear among the superhero community that they may be vulnerable to the Dip, concocted by Judge Doom. Stan Lee is the ultimate deciding factor on this ruling, who made his case against it in the Court of the Gods, it remains to be seen how they rule it.
  • Once had a rap battle with Jim Henson. It was evenly match, but then something unexpected happened: Walt Disney crashed the party and proceeded to pwn them at their own game. Stan the Man may be God of Comic Books, but even he can't compete with that.
  • Stan Lee has been a source of frustration with Sheldon Cooper. An initial opportunity to meet him was ruined by his roommates, with him ending up getting a restraining order. He had no such trouble in the Pantheon, and Stan Lee was glad to give a fan of his a coveted signature.
  • There has been claims that Stan Lee is secretly a CIA agent in his spare time. When pressed with those allegations, Chuck merely stated not to comment on it, which only further spurred the rumor mill.
  • Phineas and Ferb thought it was odd that the local hot dog vender made it to the Pantheon. It was only his revelation of his works that the two recognized him as Stan Lee. They were grateful of meeting with a lot of his creations.
  • Stan Lee was grateful for getting a spot in a Robot Chicken segment. Regardless of its divisive nature. Stan Lee had always believed it could get out of Purgatory.

@Man With No Name. Lone Ranger will probably to too much of a boy scout for him to like him. He would life John Marston's company however. That and I think No Name should be True Neutral instead.

Don't remove the Winchesters. Just shaft them to Reworking. I mean, Castiel just moved in. I heard suggestions that Dean be removed and Sam be the sole holder.

Does Hundred Percent Adoration Rating actually apply to Steven Universe? Because the trope seems to apply to a ruler/leader. That…doesn't describe Steven at all.

I was gonna suggest Jason Rusch and Gehenna for Romantic Fusion, but…what if I were to suggest that trope to Steven…joined with his Implied Love Interest Connie Maheswaran?

  • Allies: Sparx, Ignitus, Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet, Clank, Sly Cooper, Bentley Turtle, Murray Hippo, Lightning, Parappa the Rapper, Sir Daniel Fortesque, Bahamut, N, Samwise Gamgee, Aang, Dovahkiin, Alexstrasza, Samus Aran, Paarthurnax, Spike, Caro Ru Lushe and Silica, Jakiro, Donkey Kong, Sash Lilac, Frodo
  • Rivals: Cael Cyndar
  • Enemies: Ripto, Neo Cortex, Polygon Man, Moneybags, Seto Kaiba, Hermaeus Mora, Ghetsis, Maleficent, Kevin, Oda Nobunaga, Ridley, Acnologia, Deathwing, Nefarian, Mordremoth, Zhaitan and many other evil dragons
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Moneybags
  • Conflicting Opinion: Bowser
  • Mysterious Connection with: The Meta
  • Spyro can be described as a small purple dragon who despise his size, has saved the day numerous times. Many Gods were rather surprised at Spyro, since he didn't match the normal idea of a dragon, being small and purple. Spyro got a little uncomfortable and asked everyone to quit staring. Haven't they seen a dragon before?
  • He originally entered into the Pantheon when Polygon Man diverted a portal Spyro had taken to visit Dragon Shores to the Pantheon. Upon arriving, Polygon Man forced Spyro to fight Crash Bandicoot as the main event in Round 2 of Polygon Man’s Battle Royale. Unfortunately for him, Crash and Spyro had been tricked into fighting each other once before by Cortex and Ripto, and they didn’t fall for the same trick twice. They have vowed to put a stop to Polygon Man’s scheme with the help of Lightning Farron and the ascended competitors of the first Battle Royale.
  • Spyro can be often seen followed by a Dragonfly called Sparx that serves as his Life Meter. Originally Sparx did not follow Spyro to godhood but eventually he arranged Sparx to be part of the pantheon under his own title. The two are inseparable and now they are both together in the pantheon.
  • Spyro had been quite content before his ascension, since he hadn’t seen Moneybags lately. He wasn’t pleased to find out that this was because Moneybags came to the Pantheon ahead of him, and was still up to his old tricks, charging for crossing bridges, opening doors and such.
  • The Disney, Nintendo, and Kamen Rider gods seem to prefer Spyro's Skylanders incarnation over the other two, for some reason.
    • With the revelation that Bowser and Donkey Kong will join the Skylanders on their next adventure, Spyro is willing to welcome the latter with open arms. Bowser, on the other hand, he keeps with suspicion, lest he takes advantage of his new-found power.
  • Spyro has a great deal of respect for Bahamut, the God of Dragons, and is eager to please him.
  • Hermaeus Mora once sent Dovahkiin after Spyro, neglecting to tell the Dragonborn that Spyro was friendly. Spyro was able to stop Dovahkiin and explain that he was friendly before Dovahkiin could slay him. Dovahkiin apologised and plans on attacking Hermaeus Mora with Spyro’s help.
  • While in his Legend incarnation, Spyro ran into Samwise Gamgee, who mistook Spyro for Frodo because his voice sounded similar. While Sam was initially disappointed, he and Spyro soon became friends, and Spyro has promised to help find a position in the Pantheon for Frodo. He also is a little creeped out that he sounds like Kevin and prefers to stay far away from him.
  • Seto Kaiba was told about Spyro’s surprising strength for his size and age, but he simply laughed and couldn’t believe that the purple pipsqueak could stand up to the Blue Eyes White Dragon. Spyro will be more than happy to prove Seto wrong should he get the chance.
  • Spyro is rather annoyed at evil dragons, as they give the whole species a bad reputation. He also dislikes those who use dragons for evil, like Nobunaga, who took over the Ransei region with a Rayquaza. Spyro hasn't been told yet that Nobunaga had a good reason for his actions.
    • Same goes for Maleficent turning herself into a giant dragon. Since she's the leader of the Disney villains, he's more than happy to beat her down whenever a Disney god asks him to.
  • Spyro initially thought N used his legendary dragon to commit evil acts as the leader of Team Plasma, but he later came to admire N for fighting in what he believed in. He apologised to N for judging him harshly, and his ire has since been transferred to Ghetsis, the true ruler of Team Plasma and N’s emotionally abusive father. Ghetsis once ordered his Hydreigon to attack Spyro and N, but Spyro was able to drive it off with his Dragon Kata and Ice Breath, both of which proved super effective on Hydreigon.
  • Spyro can occasionally be found in the House of Combat, practicing his Dragon Kata, and the House of Magic, practicing his various elemental breaths besides his flame breath. Dovahkiin is eager for Spyro to teach him the Words of Power so that he can perform Superflame and Electric Breath shouts.
  • Aang has shown an interest in Spyro’s ability to use various elemental breaths. He never thought other worlds would have their own Avatars, and non-human ones at that! However, he explained that most of this effects were granted by fairies, but nonetheless Aang is curious to meet said fairies
  • Alexstrasza is very protective of Spyro, since he is a young dragon. Sometimes, she can be a little too overprotective for Spyro's tastes. He feels he can look after himself since he's defeated multiple villains on his adventures. However, he is careful not to say this aloud, as he knows Alexstrasza is just looking out for him, and that she also has a fiery temper, which he does not want to provoke. Then he found out from Bahamut that she has lost many of her own children in very painful circumstances.
  • Normally, Spyro can only glide since his wings aren't fully grown yet. However, when he competes in the Speedways in the House of Sports, he can fly fully. The Gods in the House of Knowledge are racking their brains for an explanation as to why this is the case. He can also gain the power of full flight (as well as the Supercharge and Superflame abilities) temporarily with the aid of 'power-up gates' that are sporadically placed around the Pantheon; however, it never lasts more than 30 seconds before wearing off.
  • Spyro has helped Samus battle Ridley because he wants to show her that not all dragons are evil like Ridley.
  • Spyro respects Paarthurnax as he was able to change his formerly evil ways.
  • Spyro has nothing but disgust for 'Dragon King' Acnologia, believing him to be no better than Malefor at his worst. This only increased when he learned from others tales about him, including how he slaughtered innocent dragons for sport and how he despises and refuses to interact with humans despite once being one. Spyro willing forged friendships with non-dragons and is proud of it, and won't hesitate to join forces with them to fight him, despite their difference in power.
  • There have been rumors going around that the recently-arrived Meta is somehow connected to Spyro. It is stated because Sigma, the malevolent AI responsible for making the Meta the way he is, has an uncanny vocal resemblance to the purple dragon. Spyro for his part is horrified by this.
  • Has become of an unofficial partner for Spike, a fellow small and heroic dragon who loves finding gems (though Spyro's not sure what to think of him eating them). Spyro can sometimes be seen giving advice to Spike, while telling him of his many adventures. He even promises to take Spike with him one day, if the baby dragon is ever allowed to Take a Level in Badass.
    • Some have found it suspicious that Spyro tries to help a baby dragon, who happens bares a strong resemblance to himself and who's parents are unknown. Spyro is yet to respond to this.
  • The ascension of Ripto did not go unnoticed by Spyro and promptly sighed when he heard that indeed, his Arch-Enemy came for a rematch. However, since he isn't the only dragon around, Ripto is busy hating other dragons and also weary that the bigger ones might gang up on him.
    • Funnily enough, Spyro possesses a Skateboard with Ripto's face and even a move called the "Raging Ripto" named after him. He hasn't explained about that, but he has implied that Hunter came up with the names, not him.

First draft of my Despair rework

Despair of the Endless, Goddess of Destroying Hope (Aponia)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/despair3_endless_137.jpg
  • New House: Sadness (House of Emotion)
  • Overdeity
  • Symbol: A hooked ring she wears on her right hand. Alternatively, her many mirrors
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Cosmic Entity, Failure Is the Only Option, Anthropomorphic Personification of Despair, Destroying Hope, Gonk, Full-Frontal Assault, Being A Positive Entity Of Ennui, Cutting Herself, Magic Mirror, Surveillance as the Plot Demands
  • Domains: Despair, Mutilation, Tragedy, Failure, Mourning, Memory
  • Special relationship with: The rest of the Endless (her siblings)
  • Allies: Destruction of the Endless (her brother), Nurgle, Sadness, The Dementors
  • Tolerates: Most hope crushers in spite of their morality like AM, Big Brother, the Anti-Spiral and the Flood
  • On speaking terms with: Joshua Norton
  • Opposed by: Yuuki Terumi and Darkseid oddly enough, along with Tzeentch, Madoka Kaname, Team Dai-Gurren and Keel Lorenz (mostly one-sided), the White, the Auditors of Reality, Cyrus
  • Complicated relationship with: Hope bringers like Saint Walker and Auriel
  • There are entities that are not gods, yet stronger than them. A family that represents the most basic patterns in the cosmos, they are the Endless. Out of them is Despair, said to be created from an aspect of another Endless(likely Desire). She is true to her name, embodying despair, dread, along with longing, mourning, grief and memory.
  • As the personification of despair, it is her purpose to spread and maintain such emotions for all it entails. That doesn't make her evil though, just having a different code. While she represents ennui and hopelessness, she also represents memory and mourning, and deeply cares for her siblings (especially Destruction). Because of her overwhelming presence, power and neutral stance, she is accepted as the head of Sadness.
  • Usually withdrawn, but has some straight up allies. Because they represent the positive aspects of sadness and despair, she gets along with the emotion Sadness. Some say she is an aspect of herself. She also gets along with Nurgle, much to the discomfort of many, due to Nurgle's kind side and value of other people. This has further angered Tzeentch, who as the embodiment of hope and change hates Despair.
  • It is believed that she directly created the Dementors, given they are the living embodiments of depression. While the Dementors would feed on just about anyone, she is the only entity they show complete and absolute respect, and have Undying Loyalty to her. Voldemort doesn't really care so long as they still work for him, and given how his attempts to escape Death went he's best not bothering with Despair.
  • Takes the form of a hideous fat woman, not wearing clothes. She still doesn't bother wearing any, much to the discomfort of many. She is associated with rats and is known to inflict injuries on herself with her hooked ring. It is unknown what Twitch thinks of her.
  • Her domain is full of mirrors, which allow her to peer out into any mirror in the universe. She uses them as a tool to inflict dread, and it seems this includes mirrors in the Trope Pantheon. People are understandably paranoid, but she doesn't really interfere with much of the pantheon's business. Bloody Marie once made the mistake of intercepting Despair's usage of the mirrors, coming out utterly traumatized. She won't speak about what happened.
  • She has a complicated relationship with hope bringers. Most dislike her due to what she represents, though some recognize she has an important purpose. However it's all one-sided due to the importance of her job, and as all Endless she also defines her opposite-hope. There are those that actively want to get rid of her without understanding/caring about her purpose like Cyrus. The White have accused her for being the source of the hopeless, inescapable cycle the SMT multiverse is trapped in and the fact there's a Cosmic Entity of despair is further motive in their eyes to destroy all creation.
  • Has a hand in many a Hope Crusher, which given she's one of the few examples that isn't malevolent has given her a very sinister reputation. AM is rather close due to being incredibly skilled at both inflicting and being consumed by despair-it hates humanity and tries to make sure its victims can NEVER escape, yet is dominated by self-loathing and despair over its Creative Sterility and inability to be anything more than a destroyer. Big Brother, the Flood and the Anti-Spiral have made grand usage of despair as well.
  • While loving to crush hope, Yuuki Terumi has zero fondness for Despair of the Endless. He considers her "a shitty, terrible despair deity who's too soft for her own good." Also, he wants to inflict his own brand of despair and hers is not up to his tastes. Darkseid has similar reservations about the Cosmic Entity. His desire to break the spirit of the universe and replace meaning with "worship Darkseid" means he's not interested with what she's selling. That being said, he was at least courteous enough to tend to her brother's funeral.
  • She's the second Despair. The first Despair was responsible for Krypton developing life only to be doomed because of its unstable nature, resulting in a single survivor to mourn in utter despair. This failed miserably since the(more or less) sole survivor Kal-el was but an infant at the time, and has become one of the greatest sources of hope out there. How the first Despair died is unknown, however the culprit is doomed to suffer until the end of time. Many believe this is how the current Despair came to be.

[up] Hope Crusher is taken by Junko Enoshima & Monokuma, but they also have A House Divided. Then again, I don't recall any discussion on what trope they should keep.

@Patrick: If what you're saying translates to "remove The Lone Ranger from The Man with No Name's allies", then fine, but the only reason I have them as allies to begin with is because they are listed as such in The Lone Ranger's profile (I remember you writing it). However, it doesn't really elaborate on their relations from the text (it just amounts to something along the lines of "two cowboys (The Man with No Name and John Wayne (the latter needs a rework) met him upon ascension" or something like that).
