Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

  • Silver is the rival of Ethan and Lyra, protagonists of Pokémon Gold and Silver and their remakes. He starts as a real jerk, who stole one of the starters at Elm Research Lab and is thuggish. He has a hatred for Team Rocket but with an obsession of becoming stronger and seeing Pokémon as tools he's not that different from them...in fact he's arguably more unlikable. Fortunately over time the player character beating him gives him an ego trip, and he begins to realize the value of his teammates. He eventually came to care for his Pokémon, but still holds the ambition of becoming the strongest trainer in the world and a prideful streak. So a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, basically.
  • When Silver ascended into the Pantheon, he didn't really has his name publicly shown. It all appeared as ????, much as when he made his debut in the games. Some other gods then decided to try to name him with different names (even ????), some less appealing than some. He only got his name back when ironically The Mob tried to name him and ended up giving his normal name (their tried naming him something stupid, but accidentally exited out of the name input screen before putting anything in). Given what was going with his name, it dissuaded Light Yagami from trying to write his name down in the Death Note. That said, he's not interesting in getting rid of Silver as he has higher priorities for who to kill. Silver personally detests Kira for being a self-righteous mass murderer and the grief he has given his father Soichiro. Granted he's not on good terms with his own dad and isn't all that law-abiding, but he is sympathetic to Soichiro's situation.
  • While his starter depends on Ethan/Lyra's starter, most adaptations choose the Totodile line. He is also heavily associated with Sneasel, and Gengar is another Pokemon with a sinister edge he uses on his team. Naturally, he was quite fond of finding the equivalent Pokemon species in the Trope Pantheon. He wasn't all that happy that Ethan/Lyra wasn't in the pantheon because he's come to find them as a Worthy Opponent, and he's strived to seek out rivals, first of which being Paul because he has a lot of similarities to Silver; they are believers of harsh training methods that would gradually grow into a better person, even if they still have an edge. Ash noticed the similarities and finds the trash talk of "stop copying me" from the two kind of funny. Given Silver's father, Ash is also fascinated with the idea of facing off against him in a battle.
  • It was eventually revealed that he was the estranged son of Giovanni, who he had a falling out when he left after Red defeated him. Unlike the callous and abusive Ghetsis Giovanni does care for Silver, but he's definitely a flawed father and somewhat selfish in how he focuses on his ambitions. Despite their estrangement Giovanni is proud to see his son's growth as a trainer, and informed the Team Rocket trio while he understands they're interested in his kid, that's none of their business so don't pester him. Silver does admit that he doesn't have much room to criticize Team Rocket on stealing Pokémon when he himself did so before. As a son of a crime boss, Silver was curious about Bucciarati's gang since he sees more of his dad's admirable traits mixed with the genuine ability to back up their accomplishments. Giovanni mused that the two of them do share a desire to prove themselves and a troubled upbringing, and he's stated he would like to see Silver prove himself as a trainer. Otherwise Silver doesn't have much respect for organized crime.
  • As the son of a crime boss and villainous team leader, he has an interest in others with a Notorious Parent. Him and Portgas don't hang persay but they do occasionally swap stories with one another. He's intrigued by his biological father Gol D Roger. His interactions with Aladdin are more warmer, musing on his own past as a troublemaker and one time thief, and sometimes they'll talk about their relationship with their dads. Silver doesn't respect those who refuse to get out of their villain parent's shadow and embrace the Overlord Jr. trope, like Bowser Jr and Nina Cortex, but he isn't all that bothered by them; it's more a disappointment towards their perceived lack of ambition. More seriously, he doesn't get along with Goro Akechi. His dad is at least Ghetsis-level bad but what Goro has done is too much for Silver.
  • Because of how "Giovanni is Ash's dad" is a popular fan-theory, some like to speculate he and Ash are brothers. Of course it's entirely wild mass guessing and it's not something Silver sees as funny, due to his issues with his dad. After spending some time in the House of Family and Relatives Silver has noted that there are still far more dysfunctional father-son dynamics than his and Giovanni, which is why he holds a lot of contempt for Ozai. The Firelord can charitably be called a narcissistic parent who sees his children as tools, and who's ambitions for the world in general is horrible. Silver is quick to mock how he was defeated, calling him a "loser lord". Silver also holds contempt for Ghetsis due to how awful a parent and trainer he is, musing at the contrast between him and his (adoptive) son N compared to Silver himself and Giovanni. He finds N to be an interesting guy and approves of his growth as a person. However he also wants to best him as a trainer, which was motivated by the fact N was able to catch and wield one of the main legendaries of his region.
  • Silver may have been a pretty big jerk before his development, but even then he was never as loathsome as Shinji Matou. Asides from disgust for what he did to his adoptive sister he sees someone who has a number of daddy issues and an Inferiority Superiority Complex, but rather than rise above it as he has he wallows in self-pity and refuses to improve himself. By contrast, he is good friends with Gladion and Jun Manjoume. "The Chazzter" also had a desire to prove himself due to family issues, and he came to value his companions over time. Gladion has his own issues with his parent and a haughty demeanor, but he's considerably more chill than Silver was. In addition, he has a level of respect for Vergil as a man and an arrogant, rude rival who's obsessed with becoming stronger. That said, he doesn't hold that grandiose an ambition, and muses that his criminal father might be more interested in Vergil than him.
  • Apparently hates trashy men. He thinks they are unpardonable and their strolling are an eyesore, and wants to beat all of them up. The actual quote is that he hates the weak, and that he will wipe anyone who he considers weak, like those who gang up together just to look stronger. He's not fond of bullies like Biff Tannen, despite having been kind of a bully (or at least a huge Jerkass) in the past since he sees them as trying to hide their own weakness by tearing others down. The psychopathic Infinite is someone he's sussed out at this kind of person and as much as he has issues with his dad, at least he wouldn't employ someone like Infinite. He also doesn't like Eric Cartman. Cartman loves to riff on him for supposedly being ginger and doesn't get how Ho-oh could look positively on him nowadays because "gingers have no soul", only for Silver to call him out by reminding him that his father was ginger. And what he did to him was sickening.
  • Yes, he's a thief. It doesn't change the fact that he's grown as a person and that the Pokemon he stole became a close friend, so few hold it against him. Chief Wiggum has tried in vain to get his arrested by pointing out that "just because Malloy was likable he still did the crime and should do the time", and has tried and failed to take Silver in. The Pokemon trainer scoffs at him, (correctly) thinking he's an idiot who his dad would take advantage of but otherwise finds his antics mildly amusing and he's at least a good dad. The House of Law and Justice doesn't bother running checks on Silver anymore. And yeah, he used to be a bully and a thug, something Pacifica and Flash Thompson used to be. It's something they sometimes talk about together.

  • Carol, self-declared Murderer of Miracles, was originally the daughter of an alchemist named Izak living in medieval Europe. One day, a plague hit the village the two lived in, and out of goodwill, her father used his knowledge of alchemy to save them. Unfortunately, the villagers didn’t take kindly to it and repaid their savior by burning him at the stake. Before dying, Isaac’s parting words were for his daughter to not bear any grudges and experience the world but Carol twisted it into a quest of dissecting it in its entirety instead, having been consumed by vengeance and a burning hatred towards all miracles. To accomplish this, she intended to use the Château de Tiffauges to dissect and deconstruct the entire world using its leylines, literally bringing about the apocalypse on the planet.

    • Elfnein, a homunculus copy of herself created to assist Carol, opposed her as she believed this wasn’t what their father intended which led to her banishment. Before leaving, Elfnein took with her pieces of the cursed sword Dainsleif to stop her original. While Dainsleif allowed the Symphogears to attain newer forms this, in truth, only helped further her goals and was an intended outcome. The Autoscorers slain by the “cursed songs” of Dainsleif would only help her dissect the planet. Despite this intricate plan and putting up a hell of a fight even after the Château’s destruction, Carol was ultimately defeated and left an amnesiac from abusing memory-burning alchemy before lending her body to a dying Elfnein. Elfnein herself would continue to assist the Symphogears alongside S.O.N.G. while also trying to bring back Carol. Her efforts would be rewarded when Carol reemerged during the conflict involving Noble Red and Shem-Ha Mor though the ancient alchemist would ultimately perish for good in the final battle against the latter, finally joining her father’s side in the afterlife.

  • Elfnein would be the first of the two to ascend, having been brought along some time after Genjuro Kazanari had ascended to assist the present Symphogear users. She ended up taking a title pertaining to Transferable Memories due to Carol’s usage of hopping to newer homunculi bodies with her memories copied and pasted over with Elfnein being one of them made for a separate purpose. Said memory transferring was also how Carol saved Elfnein’s life and would be how Elfnein would reconstitute Carol later on. The small homunculus wasn’t the type to clamor for a position in the Pantheon though she accepted not just to help her friends but also clinging onto the possibility of it being a way to meet Carol once more. It didn’t happen immediately, but while walking with Hibiki she managed to catch a glimpse of a familiar face within a crowd. Her intuition is proved correct when after some searching she manages to reunite with her other self who was presently with her father. Carol was caught off guard when Elfnein rushed over to hug her but reciprocated the gesture. As a celebration for the two reuniting in the Pantheon they spent the next few days reconstructing the four Autoscorers.

  • Contrasting the Symphogears, Carol uses a Faust Robe whose Relic that serves as a basis is a harp. Specifically the harp of the Daga, Dur da Blá (more commonly known as Uaithne). But unlike the harps like King David’s or Princess Zelda’s, the Slaughtering Harp is used for more destructive ends making it more closer to the guitar Haruko Haruhara uses. It not only amplifies the alchemy Carol uses but she can also use the strings of Dur da Blá for a variety of purposes either forming it as weapons, entangling things, or outright slicing them to ribbons. Being the wife of the Dagda, the Morrigan was not pleased with Carol and the appropriation of her husband’s harp.

  • In the Pantheon, the two exist as different people though Elfnein still possesses the body Carol left behind for her. Aside from their demeanor, eyes, and the length of their ponytails, the two are otherwise identical, more so than when they did have “different” bodies, and one would even be forgiven for mistaking the two as twins when they’re both around. Even the Autoscorers noted this upon being reconstituted by the two in the Pantheon and just decided to roll with the fact that they have two masters now who are nearly exactly alike though they never differentiate from the two to both Carol and Elfnein’s confusion. Izak found the situation more bewildering but has already long accepted Elfnein is, in a way, another daughter of his. Fitting, since Elfnein certainly cherished him as much as Carol did, enough to convince her to stop rather than pursue her revenge. If anything, one could consider Elfnein to be the little girl that Carol once was before everything went wrong.

  • At the behest of Elfnein’s friends and some prodding from Carol’s father and Elfnein herself, the two went out of their way to make new acquaintances in the Pantheon. As it turns out the two are far from the only homunculi here. Carol clicked with Illyasviel, a homunculus created by the Einzbern family created as a vessel for the Holy Grail, whose anger also stemmed from problems involving her own father albeit for the opposite reasons. It helped that she was already familiar with Hibiki, who in some ways reminded Illya of her brother Shirou Emiya, and the Wielder was happy to help the two of them get along well enough though not with some light bickering here and there. Elfnein connected more with the other Illya, who became a Magical Girl, and she thought much of the same. There was Irisviel, Illya’s mother, who was also a homunculus created by the Einzberns for the same reasons, and she ecstatically met the two upon hearing that her Illya(s) made new friends. Hearing of their story one day moved the woman to tears and embraced the two of them, much to their shock (and annoyance from Carol). Since then, the two frequently meet up with the Illyas, even hanging out around Iri and Kiritsugu’s temple. Kiritsugu found the homunculi to be peculiar, or rather just Carol really given her history but decided to let it go since regardless his daughters are happy. That being said, he doesn’t know what to think about the Autoscorers who sometimes tag along Carol and Elfnein.
Irisviel: Oh, it’s quite late out now. If you want, I can drive us all-
Carol: [Brandishing a teleportation gem and grabbing Elfnein’s hand] That will not be necessary. Thank you for your offer, however.
Prisma!Illya: H-Hey wait a second!
[Carol smashes the gem onto the ground, warping herself and Elfnein away in a magenta light.]

  • Carol took after alchemy like father and in the several hundred years following his execution she has far surpassed him in sheer knowledge, even managing to discover how to create Autoscorers and homunculi. Said knowledge was what helped her become so strong to take on the world in the first place. Her strength even surpasses the Bavarian Illuminati’s top brass barring Adam, a Super Prototype to humanity, though more heavy usage of her alchemy comes at the cost of burning her memories. Elfnein, while not possessing any fighting capability of her own, is still capable in her own right through the alchemical knowledge she inherited from Carol. It's because of this she remains a crucial member of S.O.N.G. as she has been a help with not just on alchemy but on heretical technology in general. Such tech was lost to history and kept secret but those who do know but no such secrecy exists in the Pantheon, which is as fantastical as it can get with many gods having knowledge in alchemy and many other technological fields and sciences for that matter.

    • One day, the two were approached by the famed Edward and Alphonse Elric who wanted to meet with Elfnein and Carol. Part of it was because they hailed from a universe where the practice of alchemy was seen as normal barring the more sinister arts but it was also motivated out of a concern regarding Carol. They know about the general details regarding the Magical Girl Incident but wanted to learn more. Elfnein was quick to vouch for Carol, accepting that while she had committed many sins Carol also came through for her multiple times and even helped save the world from Shem-ha with no strings attached, even if it came at the cost of her life that Elfnein spent so much time trying to salvage. The two were more at ease with this situation, especially Ed despite there being enough similarities for him and Carol to clash as he eventually gave up the ability to use alchemy for good to save Al when he gave up himself to save him from Father. While brothers left on agreeable terms with both (though they were closer to Elfnein) their allies from back home, however, were obviously quite distrustful of Carol. Not helping things is Carol herself not being in any hurry to try and convince them otherwise. For what it’s worth, they do share a common enemy in the form of Father and his followers such as the Homunculi (barring Greed) and Dante, as well as other malicious alchemists like Relius Clover.

    • Elfnein clicked with the likes of Shulk and Tails almost immediately given their pechants for machinery. Shulk admits her curiosity and focus on work reminds him of himself as well as his son Nichol while Elfnein was surprised hearing that early on in his life he of all people swore bloody revenge on the Machina following their attack on Colony 9, being reminded of Carol’s own growing hatred after seeing her father burn at the stake before her very eyes. Unlike Carol, however, he never quite lost himself in his rage as his resolve became conflicted when the truth behind the Machina’s invasion slowly revealed itself culminating in him choosing to not kill Egil after beating his Machina, Yaldabaoth, and successfully talked him down. When it comes to Tails is reminded of his own role and contributions to Sonic and his friends as well as the confidence issues he once held when pairing his skills to theirs before finding his own footing. She has his full support against the nefarious Dr. Eggman.

    • Carol herself would meet with Plague Knight and Mona during a trip to the beach with the Autoscorers (her father and Elfnein each had their own commitments) where Leuir and Micha helped fight off a Daimyo Hermitaur and blowing it up and somehow also cooking it to perfection. Plague Knight and Mona bore witness to the whole ordeal and after an offhand mention that Carol was an alchemist like the she was dragged into an extensive conversation about explosives over some lunchnote . By the end of it the two suggested helping pitch in with the fireworks show later that day, making a note of wanting to upstage the store bought fireworks with something more authentic. Carol was apprehensive but Leiur and Micha were and dragged their master into it anyway. Upon finishing and seeing their collective handiwork in action begrudgingly admitted she actually had fun with their little project. It's said Carol pops up every now and then to help with whatever plan they’re concocting next.

  • The Pantheon is home to a number of fantastic beings, homunculi and other artificial clones being among them. There were of course the aforementioned other homunculi under Father, for one, who menaced the Pantheon under his command. And though it may not be apparent at first glance Grima himself is a homunculus created by the late alchemist Forneus who experimented on divine dragon blood and Grima became the result. Alm and Celica originally defeated him within the depths of the Thabes Labyrinth but he would meet his end at the hands of Chrom and Robin. Surprise surprise, neither of the two are fond of the dragon for damning the world in the Bad Future where it took over Robin. When it comes to clones there was Sophie, a copy of a witch who also suffered betrayal in the past despite the good she did for Elsysadr and used the opportunity of coming back to have her revenge. This commonality between her and Carol was not lost to either and intensified after Carol caught her harassing the FIS Symphogears with Sophie opening fire on her as well. This ended poorly for Sophie as she was caught by Dur da Blá’s strings before being nailed with Elemental Slaughter which should have spelled the end for the cloned witch but she miraculously survived and limped all the way back to her allies. She has not forgotten the humiliation set by Carol and promised to take revenge and come back with an army at her side. Carol matter of factly stated she’d still stomp her and every last one of the goons she brings into the ground. As a precaution, she also gave Elfnein and the rest of S.O.N.G the information that her Autoscorers gleaned from their spy missions following the debacle with Sophie.

  • Emperor Belos in his insane quest to rid the Pantheon of the non-human gods and any humans “corrupted” by their influence has set his sights on many gods and goddesses. Elfnein and Carol were of course included, citing their nature as homunculi and the stunt involving the planet’s dissection. The feeling is more than mutual given not only his past as a witch hunter but also the many, many atrocities he committed against the Boiling Isles including an attempted genocide. What also stuck out for the two, however, was how he treated the Grimwalker clones of his brother, Caleb, whom he originally struck them. As a matter of fact, he continuously slaughtered said clones over the years. Elfnein was horrified by this, and Carol, even as someone who manipulated Elfnein, found him beyond deplorable. Elfnein quickly alerted her friends of the threat Belos posed while Carol noted that he is one of the few people she will rally against in spite of not wanting to be involved with. To her, he’s on the same level as Shem-ha.

  • Carol did a double-take when she saw the hero known as Momotaro in the flesh while walking home. No, it wasn’t because of seeing him in person: Being from a world with Relics blunts the emotional impact of such an idea. Rather, it was because she once dreamt of Elfnein being a similar figure but rather than be associated with peaches it was with shrimp. It was a really weird dream.

  • One day, Elfnein came home to their temple with a mysterious young woman with a sentient stuffed rabbit on her head. The woman introduced herself as Eirudy and she asked Elfnein if she could visit for a while being not only curious of the alchemy they’re familiar with but also fascinated by the Autoscorers as she dabbled with dolls with her magic. Unlike the Autoscorers, none of them were able to speak as she originally would have liked and was surprised to hear they directly drew from different facets of Carol’s personality. Hearing that Eirudy’s dolls were made to be her friends made Garie chime in that Carol held affection for them as well. Carol refuted that she of course cherished them given that they were integral for her original World Dissection plan but Elfnein and the other dolls commented that she also intended for them to receive a proper burial after coming back to life and holding off Noble Red for Elfnein. Carol wasn’t particularly amused by that but Eirudy had a good chuckle over it having confirmed they’re pretty close at the end of the day. The deity since then has popped up every now and then in the future.

  • Carol’s memory burning alchemy intrigued the other members of their Hall, Kaiba and Jonas especially. For the former, his world processed memories into chips with similar fluidity to how memories were processed between Carol and Elfnein. For the latter, the roles of Receiver/Giver require them to secretly hold onto the memories discarded by the Community for the sake of their utopia. Should either of the current holders die, the memories are dispersed onto the populace. On their end, they hold an interest in the fact that Time Lords can store large amounts of their memories onto a personal possession to the point they become different people without them. Elfnein in particular would like to inquire the Doctor for more information but she hasn’t been able to get in touch with any of their incarnations. You know how they are.

  • They frequently go to the House of Food as eating at home isn’t much of an option. Their father Izak, while having improved somewhat during his time in the Pantheon, is still very bad at cooking. Perhaps not quite Lethal Chef levels, especially to other gods who hold such a dubious honor, but that’s hardly a praise and a low bar. The Autoscorers don’t have that great of a track record either. Aside from Phara who is the only one to produce normal results, Garie’s creations are spicy to a sadistic degree, Leuir’s dishes are all flash but no substance or taste, and Micha’s are outright inedible, poisonous purple smog and all. Thus, they resort to eating out or having take out. If not Shirabe’s cooking then someone else’s. Passerbys should beware when they do the former as the Autoscorers may get the idea, since they can’t actually eat, to use their memory-stealing kisses to plunder memories of eating food and their tastes for themselves.

  • It can be said that Carol’s runs contrast to that of the Family Madrigal’s. Whereas Izak met his end at the hands of the community he saved who regarded his use of alchemy as “a miracle that shouldn’t have existed” thus leading to his daughter nursing a hatred for them, the family’s matriarch Alma and her three children were saved by a miracle and after gaining powers from it they put it to good use serving the community. Their generosity paid off in the end when after Casita crumbled and the miracle faded the very same townsfolk they helped stood by their side and helped them rebuild. With that being said, none of the members have actually gone on to meet Carol herself as the title of “Murderer of Miracles” was not exactly an inviting one.
    • As far as similarities are concerned, Carol’s vengeance against the world bears similarity to the one that Lord Dracula of Castlevania harbored after losing his wife to a Witch Hunt. Lord Dracula, however, was a more persistent threat to the world which necessitated a whole lineage to battle him throughout the eras though like Carol he did in a way find peace with his reincarnation, Soma Cruz, who after his adventure lived a good life with Mina Hakuba (who is hinted to be the reincarnation of Dracula’s original love, even). The two are separate people in the Pantheon and Dracula continues to be a threat which neither Elfnein or Carol will take lying down though the former harbors some hope of him changing his ways one day. Such a thing did come to pass in one timeline.

[up] Maybe James Bond could be moved to Naming Identification as The Name Is Bond, James Bond seems to be about how a name is regarded by oneself and/or others rather than how a name is structured, which fits that Hall well. Amy Pond/Williams could also be moved to Nicknames and Renames since The Maiden Name Debate is about potentially renaming oneself.

[down] Sure, it would make sense for the page to be under a more general name to fit the original story and other adaptations.

I finished a rough draft of the Chief Executives of Guangdong. Let me know if there are some improvements to be made, but I'll add the details later on.

"In all my years of travel, nothing exhilarates me as much as the rush of Guangdong. In my experience, I find that one learns more about their homeland the more they travel, and only here have I found such a resolute drive, a full-blooded desire to go beyond limits and tradition to achieve the impossible. You can appreciate the irony: Guangdong itself is an impossible creation, yet its people devote themselves to unending, relentless aspiration in spite of it."

  • Allies:
  • Enemies: It's hard to usually pinpoint enemies since those allied to a specific Chief Executive sometimes opposes the other Chief Executives. For example, anyone allied with Komai Kenichirō is regarded as an enemy by Morita and Matsushita with the exception of Ibuka. But more specifically:
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Ibuka with Komai, due only being invited as a sideliner against Morita Akio, and consequently, Ibuka and Komai's allies tend to not work together willingly.
  • The State of Guangdong is an artificial Japanese colonial state carved out of China in a timeline where the Axis had an total victory over the Allies in World War II. Initially intended to be a retirement home for Japanese soldiers envisioned by Tōjō Hideki, after he was ousted from power at the end of the war, it instead became a playground of unrestrained capitalism, filled with crime, corruption and poverty, overseen by supposedly the Kanton Minseifu, the Guangdong Civil Administration, but in practice is mostly instead run by the biggest corporations in Guangdong, a fact that has been enforced with the Yasuda Crisis, which saw the Chief Executive Suzuki Teiichi being given a Vote of No Confidence and forced to resign, with the other corporate leaders forcing the now-powerless Representative Director of Yasuda Bank's Guangdong Branch Matsuzawa Takuji to the seat so that the now-disgraced Yasuda Bank can take even more brunt of their unpopular decisions, after which a power vacuum among the Sony, Matsushita Electric and Fujitsu corporations occurs to take the seat of Chief Executive. Both Sony and Fujitsu would invite their respective allies, Cheung Kong and Hitachi to further strengthen their position, but Hitachi seeks to take the throne backed by their Manchurian and IJA connections to turn it into a Manchurian industrial state.
  • How the Chief Executives rose to the position was a pellicular one. The House of Commerce doesn't typically award titles through merits or something else- rather, they are to be held in an auction for various titles. One of them in particular was the One Nation Under Copyright trope, an auction held with the cooperation with the House of Leadership. Though the competition was fierce, in the end, the various Chief Executives of Guangdong managed to secure the title for themselves, an extremely rare moment of cooperation between them considering the ongoing behind-the-scenes plotting against each other. With this, they have managed to ascend to another sector of the House of Commerce where the corporations compete each other in a product cycle, a fierce race of both quality control and advertising which can be heard around the various Houses. Additionally, they also managed to branch out to weapons development, with them sending out weapons not just for profit, but to meet the goals they have to fulfill so that their weapon is seen as a potentially profitable venture, which is why they sell them to the House of Weapons regardless of the outcome of various battles. Marketing in Guangdong is a tough business, and it is no different when they ascended to divinity.

@Siegfried — Elliot Alderson used his hacking skills to become a cyber-vigilante combating against Evil Corp, whom he believed was responsible for controlling and ruining the world many times, considering how they're a conglomerate with a global reach. Though as it turns out, Evil Corp itself is second-fiddle, with the Dark Army being the true shadow behind world control and having a firm grip on world government, military, and technology in their beck and call.

Phillip Price and Tyrell Wellick are the CEO and COO of Evil Corp respectively and are initially antagonists, but while they're still not good people, they do eventually team up with Elliot to take down the Dark Army.

Specifically, both girls can stop, pick up, and knock back vehicles with minimal effort on their part and something as slight as a toe-step or normal punch would easily shatter bone or send someone flying over the sky, which coincides well with the dramedy tone they're going for. Given the setting for both series' is fairly mundane, their powers manage to stick out, though both girls could only use their powers for good, for even doing something bad or hurting an innocent would completely deplete their powers.
  • Yoon Ji-WooYou Killed My Father
    • Ji-Woo was once a girl who dealt with a harsh life as a victim of school bullying and her father being involved in unscrupulous tasks and roles, which he kept distant from her, furthering their estranged relationship. Yet when her father was gunned down by an assassin and the case went cold, Ji-Woo sought revenge as her father was the only person who loved her. To that end, she decided to be enlisted in the service of her father's friend, Choi Mu-Jin, who runs a drug ring called Dongcheon where under five years, she gradually toughens up and becomes a capable fighter, eventually taking up a role as a mole policewoman to find clues and evidence to trace down the hitman who killed her father.
  • The Rossi FamilyDisabled Means Helpless
    • The Rossis are a family of four where 3/4th of their members are deaf and almost entirely communicate with American Sign Language. Ruby, the sole member who isn't deaf, wants to become a singer, but because of the burdens of high school and the needs of her family who are fishermen in their profession, she struggles to get a grasp on handling herself. Not helping matters is the fact that the Rossis are too dependent on Ruby because of her ability to communicate without issue, which causes them to be distant from other hearing-disabled families and to end up being helpless when Ruby is unable to be with them, which jeopardizes their work, personal life, and their income. This gives the impression that the Rossis are incredibly incompetent, unwilling to listen to rules, and complain too much when things don't go their way, which doesn't help in that as they're deaf, they really can't understand others, especially Ruby's desire for singing.

I am aware that Super-Strength and You Killed My Father are currently occupied by Sven and Horus respectively, but as it stands, both of them have mediocre-to-poor profiles and I'm not hesitant in them getting shafted out. That said, Herd-Hitting Attack is a vacant trope and Sven has a degree of mileage from it, based on what I've read about that entry, so a trope transfer + rework is feasible if someone is willing to do the task. As for Horus, I would recommend him having his profile merged with Ra and another Egyptian God or two to represent Non-Human Head, in case there's someone who is interested in Egyptian Mythology.

Monsignor Ronald Arbuthnott Knox, God of Fair Play Mysteries(Archbishop Knox)

  • Borderline Demigod, Unknown Rank as a Witch Hunter
  • Symbol: The Knox Bible
  • Alignment: Neutral Good

  • Profile: From Anglican to Catholic Priest, disliked the ambivalence of the Anglican Church which led to to him getting cut out of his father's will, Vow of Celibacy, Deadpan Snarker, used Scholarships to make his way in Oxford, Satirized both religious and secular matters

  • Enemies: Dis, The Godhand, Griffith, Lord Belos, YHVH, Claude Frollo, Kirei Kotomine

  • Mystery stories distinguish themselves from the thriller and horror genres not by simply having mystery, but by having that mystery being "fair": a logical result of the story's information, perhaps even solvable before the grand reveal. However, things were not always this way. Mystery stories were originally written to dangle a mystery in front of the reader and then show off the intelligence of detectives through contrived jumps in reason and observation. But in the Golden Age of Mystery, the genre came into its own by bringing readers into the interactive detective experience. The man who codified this age of Fair Mysteries was not a critic but the writer and Catholic Priest Ronald Knox.
    • Born in 1888 to the future Bishop of Manchester, Knox gained the respect of both peers and professors at Oxford, but what he really wanted to do was become a priest. Taking a vow of celibacy at 17, he was ordained as an Anglican priest and became the chaplain of Trinity College. Only 5 years later he resigned as an Anglican priest and became a Catholic Priest, to the great displeasure of his father, the Anglican Bishop of Manchester. From then on he became a highly respected priest, theologian, and Catholic apologist, with such feats as creating his own translation of the Bible and being denoted as a Protonotary apostolic by Pope Pius XII. However, he is also known for his work in analyzing and codifying the mystery genre through his mystery stories and the creation of the Knox's Decalogue.

  • No one knows how or when Ronald Knox ascended, but the first time he was seen was when a man with fatal injuries entered a church late at night. While the chapel was supposed to be empty when the man began his confession someone on the other side of the confession box replied to him. It was later discovered that this mysterious figure was none other than Knox, who believed that the last thing to be done for a dying man was to "Hear his confession and give him absolution".

  • Versions of God
    • Evil and Demonic forces

  • While he is a Catholic priest, Knox gets along perfectly with other kinds of Christians in the Pantheon as well as those of other regions. However, he seems to get into debates about religion very often, where his experience as a theologian makes him formidable. Deities now joke that "when Ronald starts debating religion, it's time to leave the event". In the Pantheon, he takes the position of Elysium Academy's head chaplain and as a theology teacher. Due to the diverse religious landscape of the Pantheon, this position has forced him to learn about many of the other religions to properly perform his duties. His opinion on these other religions? "They are all very interesting, but none of them match up with the Catholic tradition".
    • Being a Protonotary apostolic technically gives Knox authority below only the pope(citation required). This makes him the highest-ranking Catholic in the Pantheon. Instead of using his rank as a means of influence, he instead uses his charisma to smooth over disagreements between his fellow clergy and coordinate their efforts, becoming their de facto leader. This is a good change from the general lack of coordination from before his ascension, although he is often exasperated and frustrated by Alexander Anderson's enthusiasm for violence or Gaterbelt's inappropriate love for children due to the work of keeping them in line.
    • Of course, Knox loathes completely evil clergy who sully both God and Church. Chief among these are Claude Frollo(who was also the Archdeacon in the Book), who set Paris aflame due to his hypocritical lust and Kirei Kotomine for kidnapping children to provide Gilgamesh with magical energy and plotting to bring about All the World's Evil. However, he does acknowledge that both men had reasons for what they did, albeit twisted ones, and prays that god will forgive their sins.
    • Outside of the church, Knox is also grateful to meet other Christian figures such as the Saints in the Pantheon. He especially admires Jeanne D'Arc for her ability to inspire hope in others. Sometimes, Knox will even help her through her writing classes, in which she has shown amazing progress. Through their newfound friendship, Ronald also learned about YHVH, the false god who tried bringing the Maiden of Orleans over to his side for the cause of a corrupted law. Knox has vowed to use his influence to help steer people away from these evil versions of the Abrahamic god.
    • Those who turned away from the church for both understandable and not understandable reasons

  • While he died of cancer at the age of 69 in Real Life, in the universe of Umineko: When They Cry, the circumstances of his death are much more mysterious. In this universe, he was the Head Inquisitor of the Great Court of Heaven who created Knox's decalogue as weapons to combat witches(the sources of mystery), but was interrogated and executed by his daughter Dlanor A. Knox. For this reason, Dlanor appears as Ronald's herald whenever she a break away from her busy job, and the two seem to have a healthy relationship as father and daughter. It is speculated that Dlanor is either adopted given how the two look so different or that Dlanor is the embodiment of the Decalogue, which makes Knox her father because he "created" her. When asked about his past as a witch hunter, the priest simply says that he is retired and will leave the work fighting the supernatural to future generations. In fact, this aspect of his past is so murky that no one knows how powerful he would be if he used his inquisitor powers, nor would they want to know.
    • However, a stroke of fate revealed just a bit of that unknown power. When Lord Belos was pursuing Sarah Spellman for unknown reasons, the young witch was saved by the timely intervention of a holy wedge that pierced Belos's arm, which subsequently exploded. He was forced to flee, but not before confronting the priest.
Knox: I've heard that the Puritans were tough on themselves, but I guess the history books were wrong. After all, they seem to be pretty loose on fratricide.
Lord Belos: How did you...never mind that, why is a man of the cloth siding with an unholy witch?
Knox: Well, I don't think you could understand a full Thesis so let me just say this: God protects all people.

  • Although Dlanor has a reputation of being a ruthless judge, she's actually quite reasonable when it comes to witches and demons, able to interact with them peacefully with no issues and even volunteered to help defend the Golden Land against Bernkastel's forces for no reason other her own sense of justice. Whether this attitude came from Ronald or she influenced him towards her views is unknown, but the two are generally of the same mind that extremists like Belos bring shame to the name of Christ.
    • Dlanor has also told Knox about her Worthy Opponent Battler Ushiromiya, a mystery who fought to preserve his family's dignity even with the odds against him. The two often swap reading recommendations and are considering forming a fan club for mystery story fans. Knox doesn't actively seek to be friendly with Battler's supernatural allies, but he has no objection to them.

  • Outside of Christianity, Knox's crowning achievement was Knox's decalogue, a set of 10 rules to be used for writing mystery stories. While he acknowledges that the set is somewhat outdated, these rules represented a sea change in the mystery genre away from unsolvable mysteries towards "fairness". As a witch-hunter, these rules serve as powerful Anti-Magic tools that can enforce strong metafictional constraints. The decalogue can be found here.
    • Of all mystery stories, Knox's favorites are the ones of Sherlock Holmes, although this did not save Holmes from being made fun of in "The Adventure of the First Class Carriage". In fact, Knox is an early player of The Sherlockian game, which aims to create a full biography of Holmes and Watson by combining the original stories and real-life history. In fact, efforts like these might be why Holmes and Watson are prevalent in so many universes. When their schedules aligned and Knox was finally able to meet the Great Detective in person, he was uncharacteristically giddy, and he happened to walk away from the occasion with a signed copy of A Study in Scarlet and an enormous smile. Holmes and Watson are slightly confused as to why a catholic priest is so engaged with their mystery stories, but they don't give it much mind.
    • The most controversial of the decalogue are Knox's 2nd and 5th, albeit for different reasons. Knox acknowledges that the 2nd("All supernatural or preternatural agencies are ruled out as a matter of course") was written in an age where magic was a way to create or solve problems without rhyme or reason, and that magic systems with well-established and consistent rules can have their place in mysteries. More troublesome is Knox's 5th: "No Chinaman must figure in the story". This was not a rule to exclude Chinese people from mystery stories, but instead a suggestion to avoid mystery stories that leaned upon cultural and racial stereotypes in lieu of substantive writing. However, Knox still agrees that this and some of the other commandments need tweaking, and has promised to work on it to incorporate the changing field of the mystery genre. Perhaps after he is done, Dlanor can start growing again.

@ Crimson Shark: I made the Horus profile and I approve the idea of merging it with some other Egyptian gods under the trope you suggested. That said You Killed My Father has a lot of contenders so I will only confidently vote for the Rossi Family for now [tup]

I am wondering who has ideas from the Dune franchise
