Even The Guys Want Him / Anime & Manga

Go To

  • Light Novel/Noucome: Kanade is already a Chick Magnet and then a series of hijinks result in him being aggressively pursued by the most popular guys in school.
  • Prunus Girl: Aikawa. "It's okay because he's cute like a girl" is frequently brought up by guys in his presence. In addition, the straight Maki even ends up being If It's You, It's Okay for him.
  • Koutarou of Hands Off is pretty enough to have boys dress him up in girls clothes and perv on him with one going as far as to kiss him and attempt to rape him. Also his female classmates note his cuteness and his male friends don't mind getting affectionate with him.
    • Yuuto is a Chick Magnet and attracts a male Yandere who resorts to desperate measures to attempt to be with him.
  • Advertisement:
  • Akira from Ai Ore! Love Me! Many boys at his school are infatuated with him because of his cute, feminine appearance.
  • Black Jack:
    • Subverted in the case of Kei Kisaragi. He has a male admirer who is truly head-over-heels for him, but the thing is, Kei used to be a woman called Megumi, who had a cancer that required having her uterus removed to save her. The boy did like Kei before knowing that, but just as an older brother, and only started to love him seriously after knowing that he used to be a woman. Kei does not have a problem with seeing himself as a man now and living like a man, however, so this is still a case of a guy liking another guy and not a girl.
    • About Kei's own feelings for Black Jack himself, this is at first averted before being played straight. He first loved Black Jack as his former female identity Megumi, which he reciprocated. The removing of his uterus and him choosing to present as male forced the two to be apart, though, because this was Japan in the 80s. However, Kei stresses that even after becoming a man, his feelings for Black Jack still remain unchanged and that he never stopped loving him.

  • Gate 7: Tokugawa Iemitsu. The Ten Braves seem to like Yukimura a lot too.
  • In Hakoiri Devil Princess, seems that the student president, Hayami, likes Keita very much. However, it was due to the fact that Keita reminds him of his dead dog with the same name he had when he was young and thinks that Keita is a reincarnation of his dog.
  • Wild Adapter: Kubota Makoto. Kubota and Tokito's relationship is intimate but ambiguous. Komiya, Sanada, and Sekiya have their moments with Kubota, too. Tokito is jealous of Anna, who reveals she once slept with Kubota.
  • Yamada Taro Monogatari: Not only is Taro a big Chick Magnet, he even manages to make Suguira fall for him.
  • Kagetora of Mirage of Blaze. Naoe is deeply in love with him.
  • In The Secret Devil-chan manga, when Kurosaki Sou's male classmates find out Devil-chan is actually a boy, they just don't care. To quote the manga: Cuteness is all that matters. A boy? So what if he's a boy?
  • Advertisement:
  • Masa from My Bride is a Mermaid. The first guy to "want" him was The Protagonist, Nagasumi himself, after he received CPR from him, which he mistook as a kiss (his first).
  • Gensoumaden Saiyuki and all its related movies, series, and manga. All four main characters, especially Sanzo, get quite a bit of male attention, notably from their foes. Goku had Homura get up close and personal, Hakkai had Chin Yisou (plus Li Touten's come-ons to Tenpou), Gojyo had Kami-sama...and poor Sanzo had Hazel, Go Dougan in Requiem, Rikudo, the bandits from Burial, and that one guy from the Reload anime with the puppets. Not to mention the way that Goku looks at Sanzo and Gojyo teases him about being pretty. Sanzo...does not always deal with this gracefully. One of his less rage-y reactions from early in Gensomaden:
Guy: [leers and holds Sanzo's face] You're so pretty that you look like a woman.
Sanzo: [calmly] I'm a man, though.
Guy: [leers even more] I don't mind.
    Sanzo: [remains placid] Fool.
  • The Familiar of Zero: Saito. Even though he and Louise are in love with each other, that doesn't stop most of the women in the show from expressing interest in Saito at one time or another, most notably Siesta and Kirche. In addition to that, after his victory over Guiche, Saito becomes popular with the commoners and some nobles in the school, both male and female. Marto, the school's head cook is especially in awe of Saito for his victory and gives him free food because of it. He also affectionately calls him "Our Sword", embraces and even attempts to kiss. Later, in the last episode of season 2, Saito gives a sleeping Louise to Julio, who promises to watch her while Saito's out in battle. Saito tells him he's fighting for Louise's sake because he loves her, and Julio is so touched by this that he says to him with much adoration: "I wish to tell you I love you too." He even tells Saito during a fight with him that he wants to kiss him as well as Louise. Oh, and then there's Scarron, a Macho Camp inn manager, who has also taken a liking to Saito, saying that he is "just his type", attempts to plant a Forceful Kiss on him while hugging him, glomps him while releasing plenty of heart marks, and calling him "cute" and a "attractive guy".
  • Gankutsuou: The Count. Albert clearly has a huge crush on him. And then there's Albert himself. His best friend Franz is secretly and desperately in love with him, the Count develops some affection towards Albert (besides their Ho Yay Albert saves the Count with the power of love), and Peppo a male crossdresser seems to have a strong affection for Albert and enjoys teasing him whenever he can. He later falls deeply in love with Albert. Albert also ends up engaged to Eugenie who ends up falling in love with him too.
  • Jack Atlas of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, idolized by men and women everywhere to the point where he has his own action figure within the show itself...and it's shown in the loving possession of a young male cast member.
    • The hero Yusei himself. He was blatantly hit on by Yanagi, who at one point tried to give him a Smooch of Victory after Yusei won a duel. His cellmate Aoyama has also flirted with him. In the dub of episode 31, Crow suggests that if he and Yusei can't win this duel, they should book a room together in prison.
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! GX:
    • Judai. He attracts not only attention from Asuka and Rei, but the boys also adore him, from Kenzan and Sho to Johan, even Manjoume at times... dude sure is very popular with the boys. And at the end of the series, he ends up with Yubel, who although is currently a Hermaphrodite, is heavily implied to have been male in their last life.
    • Also Johan. Judai himself is implied to have feelings for him, and the two generally act like they are married. (Yubel called him out on it. Twice.)
  • Mamoru Chiba of Sailor Moon was surprisingly nice when Fisheye came on to him. Also, the plot of the Sailor Moon R Movie centered around a male alien's (Fiore) obsession with him.
  • Subverted in the episode of Princess Tutu, "Crime and Punishment". Femio thinks that everyone including pretty-boy Mytho is absolutely in love with him, but it's actually all in his head—Mytho was miming the "I Love You" mime as a way to fight against the Raven's blood tainting his heart.
  • Kyohei from The Wallflower, who has a history of losing jobs due to his bosses—both male and female—sexually harassing him, and his headmaster at his school also came on to him once.
  • In Haunted Junction, Akamanto Kamen/Red Mantle is a very attractive male ghost who charms all the girls of Saitou High on mere sight, except for School Council girl Mutsuki (she has a thing for younger males instead). When he takes off his mask to save a bunch of Brainwashed and Crazy boys from a curse cast by his rival and long-lost younger sister, the ghostly Femme Fatale Blue Spot Girl, even guys (included Haruto and Kazumi from the Saitou HS council) fall in love with him. Hilarity Ensues.
  • Griffith of the Berserk manga/anime. His subordinates consider him to be very handsome and are quite taken with him. Then there's the Stupid Sexy Flanders moments he causes (even in Guts who is primarily straight), the fact that his beautiful looks are frequently commented on by men and women and he's had sex with another man (Lord Gennon) for ulterior motives who had developed an attraction to him. Then there are the cases after his reincarnation where guys comment that even hearing his voice makes them feel funny things.
    • Guts as well. He's a major Chick Magnet and Griffith himself had a Yandere obsession toward Guts before the Eclipse and is implied to still retain some feelings for him afterwards. There's also a male soldier (Donovan) from Guts time in the army as a boy who had an interest in him and raped him.
  • From JoJo's Bizarre Adventure:
    • Dio Brando. His insane level of charisma gets a lot of people to serve him, female and male alike. Joseph even mentions that this makes him very dangerous, as his minions are extremely loyal.
    • Jonathan has a love interest in Erina and Speedwagon is his #1 fanboy to the point of never marrying so he could spend time around him. Dio himself is also implied to have feelings of being a crazy yandere for Jonathan.
    • Joseph. He attracts girls and Santana, Wamuu, and Esidisi all have major Foe Yay towards him and Caesar appears to have Belligerent Sexual Tension towards him.
  • Monster:
    • Germany's most evil bishonen, Johan Liebert, has been described as beautiful more often by men than by women.
    • And then there's Roberto's huge Bodyguard Crush on him. Seriously, whenever the man talks about Johan you'd think they were lovers or something...
  • Ladios Sopp from The Five Star Stories manga. The movie it spawned has one of these moments in just about every volume in which he appears. To be fair, he is a god in disguise. His true form, Amaterasu the God Emperor of Light, sometimes gets this as well, but most people are too intimidated or outright terrified by him to say anything about it.
  • Yuki Sohma from Fruits Basket is popular among both males and females at his school. His older brother Ayame was also very popular with both genders in his school times. Not to mention that Haru once told Tohru that Yuki was his "first love." Also, Takei Makoto the Student Council president at Yuki and Tohru's school is shown to have a crush on Yuki, blushing whenever he is around and imagining him wearing a dress with a smile on his face.
  • Vampire Hunter D's leading character, D, is often called on his otherworldly beauty, with both genders commonly propositioning him. D's grandfather also has these effects on people.
    • In the original light novel series, D almost gets raped 3 times by men & Leon prevents two of them, one of those rape attempts included a kiss & getting to second base, and D gets 5 marriage requests from men.
  • Rosario + Vampire:
    • Subverted with Fong-Fong, who was actually trying to recruit Tsukune into the Chinese Mafia. That said, Fong-Fong still has his moments, such as the second panel here. He also garners more Ho Yay from a male member of Fairy Tale who admits he has attachment to Tsukune. His friend admits he's jealous Tsukune was able to open his friends heart.
    • One-shot character and Charm Person Kotaro Ijuuin in Rosario + Vampire Capu2. Not only did his voice captivate nearly every girl in earshot, when Ginei attempted to stand up to him, even he was smitten.
  • From the opening credits, it's clear that Ichiro from Nerima Daikon Brothers is coveted by women, men and animals alike. Naturally, he works at a host club.
  • Ikki from Air Gear. Just ask Akito. Or Aeon Clock who once confessed his love for him by saying that his life is Ikki's "feathers" and that "my heart is still inside those wings engraved with the same time". Or possibly even Kazu.
  • The eponymous character of Hayate the Combat Butler is known to have androgynous features and has induced many a Stupid Sexy Flanders moment among guys every time he is forced to crossdress. This has actually made a fellow male combat butler, Kotetsu Segawa, become something of a persistent suitor even after he found out Hayate was actually a guy.
  • Yukito from Cardcaptor Sakura had Sakura, Syaoran, and Sakura's brother Touya vying for his affection. Also the wacky Genki Girl Akizuki, seemingly. She really wants his power, and doesn't particularly care that if she takes it, he'll die. Of course, Everyone Is Bi in the CCS universe anyway.
  • Train from Black Cat had three girls who fell for him—but, ironically, the man (the Big Bad) who fell for him is the one whose feelings for him are the deepest and most obsessive.
  • Akio from Revolutionary Girl Utena, and, for very different reasons, Touga. It's no real surprise when they start doing each other after Akio's first couple of appearances or that Saionji is implied to have feelings for Touga.
    • Miki is a major Chick Magnet, Touga hits on him in an early episode and in the novel version is actually banging him, and a male teacher had a thing for him which Kozue put a stop to.
    • There's also a scene where it's implied Saionji, Akio, and Touga had a three way.
  • Claus Valca from Last Exile, most notably in the episode "Fairy Chess", receives varying forms of potentially romantic attention from Lavie, Tatiana, Sophia, Dio, and Gale.
  • Masao Kirishima from Mars quickly attracts the attention of male and female students alike.
  • Sousuke Sagara from Full Metal Panic!. Sousuke managed to attract unwanted attention from Gauron ever since he was twelve. Seriously—when Gauron first saw him, he literally did a double take, parked his jeep, and tried to pick him up. Also, in episode 24 while Gauron's trying to blow himself and Sousuke up (possibly in his screwed-up mind, as a lover's double suicide), he cries out, "I LOVE YOU, KASHIM!" In Japanese, Gauron actually says "Aishiteru ze", which literally means "I love you" with all the romantic and sexual connotations attached to it. He also keeps calling Sousuke "Honey".
    • Zaied also quite possibly felt a bit more than friendship towards Sousuke. Especially considering the frequent, really Gaussian Girl-esque memories he had of playing half-naked in the water with young Sousuke. Or how, in the short amount of time he was shown, he's always constantly thinking about Sousuke and whispering his name. Not to mention that, although Sousuke doesn't hesitate to kill him, he ends up unable to bring himself to shoot Sousuke when he has the chance. And Zaied wasn't the only guerrilla that worked with Sousuke that probably wanted him—in the novels, it's made clear that Sousuke was aware that the other guerrillas he worked with treated him unusually nice, and many times it seemed likely that they would "attack him in his sleep" just because he was so darn pretty.
    • In the novels, Lemon seems to be Bi the Way towards Sousuke. Sure, he has a crush on Nami but there are the numerous times he's shown to have a strong attraction to Sousuke, despite Sousuke not even doing much besides being good looking and simply being there. When he first saw Sousuke, he thinks to himself that Sousuke is very good looking and "charming", despite Sousuke being completely emotionless (read: "eye candy"). Later, after Sousuke wins a tournament that helped win back Lemon's money, Lemon hugged Sousuke with "more passion than a french kiss would warrant", making Sousuke slightly uncomfortable. And later still, Lemon gets drunk, and subsequently invades Sousuke's personal space by hugging and groping him while blushing - which irritates Sousuke to no end.
    • In episode 11 from Fumoffu, a male trio from the Music Club challenges him to a bet—if he can pick up a girl, they'll pay for his meals, but if he can't, he has to, swim in a lake, naked, while they watch. He loses the bet (due to acting overly scary and violent). The other school girls watching are shown to be really excited to see his body.
    • And then in the manga there's a substitute swim teacher who takes an immediate interest in Sousuke and his abilities—an interest which apparently involves blushing, drooling, and having thoughts which are WAY too suggestive to not be taken as Hot for Student. And he is shown to be very obviously jealous and shocked when he interprets Kaname's "I work well with Sousuke because we have a bond" as being that they've done it.
    • Also, there's the elderly janitor for the school that is shown having a fantasy of having a threesome with Sousuke and Tsubaki. It was the most disgusting and disturbing images shown, ever. Brain Bleach will be needed for anyone who sets eyes on that.
  • D.Gray-Man:
    • Allen Walker inspires such a reaction, along with being a Chick Magnet. Rohfa is infatuated with him, Road claims to love him, and there are suggestions in the second novel that Lenalee may have a secret crush on him. Another interpretation is that For may have a crush too. And then he's shown to be able to manipulate Komurin—a male robot—by turning up his charm (complete with Bishie Sparkle) which makes Komurin fall for him. And possibly Lavi if his Ho Yay towards Allen is any indication.
      • Not to mention Road telling Lavi that Tyki likes Allen as she does (this being after it was established that she likes Allen enough to kiss him) and how Tyki definitely appears to have something for Allen.
      • There's also Jeryy, the Camp Gay cafeteria manager in the Black Order, who flirts with Allen and calls him "cute".
      • Johnny appears to be obsessed with Allen too.
    • Kanda. He's had guys hit on him before and Lavi is quite affectionate towards him, insists on calling him by his first name, and acts like a spurned lover whenever Kanda yells at him.
    • And Tyki. Cyril clearly likes the ladies but he is also obsessed with Tyki and even flirts with him a couple of times. He once said that Tyki's beauty arouses him, with Tyki replying "You're giving me goosebumps."
  • Kimihiro Watanuki from ×××HOLiC. The Love Triangle he thought he was in? Well...he is interested in Himawari Kunogi and she kinda likes him back, but it turns out his "love rival" Shizuka Doumeki isn't interested in Himawari, like he believed, but in Watanuki himself. LOL CLAMP.
    • Also the shy little spirit, a fox dragon thing, and maybe Yuuko.
    • Oh, and you know Zashiki Warashi, that cute girl that's really shy and has a huge crush on Watanuki? In all likelihood, "she" is actually either a "he" or an "it", according to a CLAMP interview where they say that her being female is not necessarily the case. Coupled with the fact that Zashiki Warashi spirits are normally described as being young boys, along with how Ame-warashi usually says "this child" when referring to Zashiki Warashi instead of actually using a gender...
  • Peacemaker Kurogane:
    • Both played straight and played with in the case of Hijikata. He's portrayed, as in history, as extremely popular with the ladies, and even one major (male) villain in the manga was clearly attracted to him; however, in one conversation between Suzu and Tetsunosuke, when they are lampshading the similarities between their respective masters, Suzu goes into fanboy mode over Yoshida's attractiveness and sexual prowess, complete with an imagined Yoshida flaunting his sex appeal. Tetsunosuke, with a similar mental image of Hijikata, just seems disturbed by the thought.
    • And Tetsunosuke himself qualifies as Suzu has a considerable amount of Foe Yay towards him to the point of saying in the manga that he loves him, Heisuke has an attraction to adorable animals and calls Tetsu "Puppy boy", Susumu blushed around him and is hinted to really like him to the point of acting tsundere and seeking physical contact from him in the form of handholding to comfort himself, and he has a love interest in Saya.
  • In Future Diary, the male lead and cute little boy Yukiteru is constantly pursued by the absolutely psychotic Yuno. Apparently he has also elicited similar feelings of the Ho Yay variety in Akise Aru. In the spin-off, Akise goes as far to say that he's not gay, just Yukki-sexual.
  • Handsome Lech Hachibei Maeda in Ai Kora has a few girls in his harem that are either in love with him or grow to love him later on. Also, Haiji fell in love with him because Maeda has a "pure heart".
  • Outlaw Star has Gene, who initially has a thing going on with his partner Hilda, gains the affections of the lovely Melfina, has Ship Tease moments with Suzuka, and Fred Luo has a crush on him.
  • Midori Days: Seiji. Besides being a Chick Magnet, in the manga a rather cute boy named Kota falls in love with him as well.
  • Descendants of Darkness: Everybody wants Tsuzuki...it's not just Muraki. Let's see, there's Hisoka, Muraki (the most blatant one), Hijiri, the Count/Hakushaku (just as blatant as Muraki), Tatsumi, Watari (a one-time Stupid Sexy Flanders case), even his Shikigami...yup, everyone's gay for Tsuzuki.
  • An episode of the second Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei anime series shows even the boys in Nozomu Itoshiki's class would jump at the chance of a romantic relationship with him. Much to his despair, of course.
  • Fushigi Yuugi:
    • Tamahome. Canonically, Nakago has a one-sided obsession with him to the point of giving him a "Take That!" Kiss, Yui is in love with him to a Yandere-like degree, and he and Miaka are very much in love with each other. He is desired by Mayo as well. Also, Nuriko loved to tease him and once kissed him. Not to mention Vitriolic Best Friend with Ho Yay hints to Tasuki. Keisuke fawns over him quite a few times when he's at the real world too.
    • Nakago himself, as well. He's wanted by both The Dragon (a Depraved Homosexual Master of Illusion) AND The Dark Chick (Shock and Awe Dark Action Girl) of his group, and Miaka went all googly-eyed when she went to Kutou to check on Yui, meet up with him and saw his face for the first time (he was wearing a helmet that hid a good part of his face at the beginning), before she knew he was the enemy.
    • Hotohori's got Nuriko and Lady Houki crazy for him, not to mention one of the Mt. Reikaku bandits was still infatuated with Hotohori after the Gender Reveal.
  • Yu Yu Hakusho: Kurama. He has a psychotic male stalker after him named Karasu. Many other demons seem to have a thing for him too.
  • Black Butler:
    • Sebastian Michaelis. Not only do Ciel's aunt Madame Red and maid Meirin find him attractive, so does a (transgender male-to-female) shinigami named Grell. Yaoi Fangirls claim Ciel wants him too. At the very least he can be possessive of Sebastian. Hell, in the anime, Sebastian takes this to a whole new extent: Even the DOG that sometimes takes on a human male form and an hermaphrodite angel want him. Also, in chapter 39, Ciel hosts a party with a lot of rich and powerful people present. One guest is a writer named Arthur Conan Doyle. While the rest of the guests mingle and drink wine, Arthur goes and sits by himself, feeling left out. Sebastian comes up to him and offers him a drink. When Arthur looks up to thank him for the drink he is left speechless, blushes, and thinks "Wow....What beauty and ambiance he has. He could appear in a book by Oscar Wilde". And as Sebastian walks off, Arthur sees sparkles appear around him and stares after him in shock while blushing and thinking "I see, when you become top class, your servants are also top class..." Sebastian has a natural seductive air about him, tends to attract girls, and cause a lot of Ho Yay. Finnian, in particular seems to be his fanboy due to admiring Sebastian and his skills greatly, as well as blushing and releasing hearts marks along with Meirin in regards to him in earlier chapters. As well as Lady Sullivan making sexual comments in regards to him, Matilda in the anime is willing to have sex with him, some female cultists go gaga over him, and Beast was seduced by him. Also, in episode 20 a guy tears Sebastian's shirt deliberately, who's shackled to a wall, and fawns over him saying "He's lovely!" He also is ordered to torture him, comments on his pretty eyes and says "Let's hear a nice scream from you, you pretty thing!" All while drooling. In general, men have a tendency to comment on his good looks and lose their personal space around him particularly Claude who randomly decides to fondle him in the middle of a fight. Also, Joanne is his hard core fanboy and seems turned on when Sebastian goes into sadistic tutor mode and Agni greatly admires him to the point of crying Tears of Joy in his presence.
    • Ciel has this issue a lot. He attracts perverted cultists, stalkers (like Baron Kevlin), and demons who want his soul (like Sebastian and Claude) with all the Ho Yay implications attached. And possibly Alois when he flirts with Ciel and tells him that he wants him and that he'll kill all his loved ones unless he agrees to become his. And he's even been flirted with by Aleister Chamber and Lau. And Undertaker has considerable Ho Yay towards him as well, like in chapter 64, when he expresses concern over how Sebastian seems to make Ciel miserable and states that he'll murder Sebastian so that Ciel can be happy again. He tends to be kidnapped and harassed because of his good looks, as well as causing Ho Yay between almost every male character he interacts with. There are multiple male extras making excuses to get close to him, touch him, comment on his good looks, and hit on him. He also has Nina Hopkins interested in him, and Elizabeth as his fiance. Edgar, Soma, and Finnian are very admiring of him as well with Finnian going as far as to make a Declaration Of Protrection towards him and the other male members of the P4 at Weston College are mentioned to have taken "quite a fancy" to him as well as gaining fanboys amongst his classmates. Along with Ran Mao getting cozy with him and some women at a ball at Ciel's college are shown appreciating Ciel's looks and asking him to marry their sister. As well as Lady Sullivan expressing sexual interest in him.
    • Maurice Cole in the school arc of the manga is so handsome that he has plenty of fanboys.
      • All four of the prefects of Weston College have a lot fanboys in their fellow male classmates as well, particularly Edgar who has Maurice as a Crazy Jealous Guy over him. Taken Up to Eleven when they perform as singers as they garner blushing worship form both female and male fans.
    • In Chapter 74 when the men from Scarlet Fox Dorm make their appearance at a ball, namely Edgar and Joanne, we see two woman and one guy blush adoringly at the sight with heart marks behind them.
    • Edward joins them in chapter 222 when we see he has fanboys and fan girls who go gaga over his bad boy persona and are blushing and flustered at his charms. Soma is also a member of Phantom five and gets the same blushing worship, as well as what is implied to be a Bodyguard Crush from Agni. Even Ciel admits that Soma is good looking and would be perfect if he didn't have the emotional age of a preteen.
    • When Clayton is revealed to be Beautiful All Along in chapter 219 Soma states "Who knew you'd be such a looker?"
    • Alois. He was able to effortlessly seduce Lord Trancy into having sex with him, Claude and Hannah are revealed to have much romantic affection towards him, and the male Trancy triplet named Timber comments that he'd "be willing to" love Alois for how heated and passionate he can be and thinks he's cute when he cries. Aleister too when he calls Alois a "unsullied beauty" upon first seeing him. Even Ciel blushes and has a Stupid Sexy Flanders moment upon seeing Alois crossdressing as a female maid. And his skills towards seducing Lord Trancy (in order to get special favors/treatment) is implied to have come from him solicitating himself to both men and women when he was younger because he was orphaned and alone and needed the money.
  • Nodame Cantabile: Chiaki. Okuyama certainly wants him. Unfortunately for Okuyama, so does Nodame.
  • Code Geass:
    • Lelouch Lamperouge. Milly, Shirley, Kallen and Kaguya are head-over-heels in love with him. (As well as 108 other girls. And maybe C.C.). And let's not even get into where Nunnally fits here...and then there's the love and psychotic devotion that Rolo has for him, and very possibly Suzaku...
      • With regards to Rolo, his voice actor has absolutely no doubt that Rolo is in love with Lelouch, as he explicitly mentions in more than one of his interviews about the character.
      • In one picture drama, Suzaku tells a cross-dressing Lelouch that he "looks beautiful", eats a piece of rice off of his face in one audio drama and ends up kissing him in another audio drama note . And in the Turn 9.34 picture drama when C.C., Kallen, and Lelouch dress up as belly dancers to sneak into the Chinese Federation, C.C. and Kallen introduce Lelouch as their "beautiful older sister" and the men ogle him. Of course, Lelouch has a masculine voice, so when he speaks, they realize that he's a guy. However, one of the men says he doesn't mind because he thinks Lelouch is "beautiful".
      • Suzuaku once states that his most important person is a tie between Euphemia and Lelouch.
    • We can't forget Suzaku either. He has Euphemia's love, Nunnally seems to have a small crush on him, was briefly engaged to Kaguya and had Foe Yay with Kallen. Then he had HEAPS of Foe Yay with Lelouch as well, and his friend Gino just loves to drape himself all over Suzaku's shoulders...
    • Rai counts as well.
  • As the lead character in Fist of the North Star, Kenshiro is so manly and badass that not only do women want him (Yuria, Mamiya, Lin), Mr. Heart is all but gay for him too.
  • Loveless:
    • Ritsuka. Soubi, Yuiko (one of Ritsuka's female classmates), and his older brother Seimei are all in love with him. It's also pretty Squicky because Seimei's love for Ritsuka falls very deeply into incest territory. It's also implied that his (much older) psychologist has a crush on him as she takes him out on a "date" in an early volume. As well as Natsuo and Youji's behavior towards Ritsuka especially in volumes 10 and 11. Even his straight male classmates comment on his pretty looks.
    • Soubi as well, what with him receiving Ho Yay from Kio, and Ritsu-sensei and Ritsuka is shown to develop feelings for Soubi later.
    • Seimei gets attention from Nisei too.
  • Kei/Megumi Yoshikawa reluctantly filled this role in the The Day of Revolution and all bets are off after he Jumps The Gender Barrier and his (now her) True Companions are no longer subject to that particular inhibition. After Kei becomes Megumi, it's poor Mikoto's turn in the barrel.
    • It's interesting to note that Kei/Megumi and Mikoto's similar experiences resisting unwanted male advances is what actually draws them together in the first place.
  • Several males from Axis Powers Hetalia:
    • Italy has the most Ho Yay moments with Germany and the two are implied to be the Official Couple. France also hints that he wants to engage in sex with Italy in one strip. Prussia is shown to like Italy very much, considering him "cute" and going as far as to ask him on a date, only for Italy to be oblivious to his question (as he was fixated on Prussia's bird). Spain seems to like Italy very much as well.
    • France invokes the trope several times by groping Austria and commenting on how attractive he finds him (and Italy), but also by trying to do something perverted to England when England was bedridden. Not to mention him commenting on how cute he finds China and America. Or commenting on how cute he finds Romano and that he wants him. Or groping and kissing Spain. Or hitting on Germany in the manga, while begging him to let him touch his chest. As well as expressing interest in Sealand.
    • America, in turn, has England very likely after him (even if he denies it), and two or three sketches have him swooned at by many girls. Also, Russia is implied to want to roughly kiss America, France calls him "cute", and Cananda fawns over him in the Hetalia World Stars manga. Female!Japan is stated to have a complicated yearning for female!America which is implied to carry over to their male persona.
    • Russia's relationship with Lithuania, the latter being the only one who could make him happy. And there's Poland around, too who has implications of liking Lithuania in a more than plantonic manner.
    • Even Russia as his sister is in love with him and France hits on him at one point and called him cute. When Russia is in a stable/good mood for once even Lithuania thinks about how Russia can be cute.
    • South Korea is very "affectionate" towards his brothers China and Japan...and he shows it by groping them.
    • Russia has Ho Yay towards China as well, much to the latter's horror. Russia has been seen sitting with China at the Allies Forces meetings, stalking China in a panda suit, and defends China against France and England at one moment then prompts him to live with him the next.
    • Japan is liked by both Greece and Turkey, spurning their rivalry even more, with Greece in the lead, especially after giving a "private lesson" to poor Japan. Russia also has something for Japan. Belarus refers to Japan as "the one Big Brother wants" and that he has said "I want him, I want him" in Russia's CD single mini-drama, and Russia says to Japan that "you're bottom" and "under my power".
    • Sweden considers Finland his "wife" and is gay for him.
    • Romano as well. Spain seems to like him a lot and France once called him cute and stated that he wants him.
  • Kazuto ("Towa") Sakuma from Sensual Phrase. His androgynous good looks make not only women but also men swoon over him. He is...not amused.
  • Miller from Kaguya Hime gets this when they don't mistake him for a girl.
  • Souma Saiki from Sakura Gari. He sleeps around a lot with both men and women, and due to his gorgeous looks, its mentioned that they all become extremely possessive of him when he tries to get them to leave him alone. Some of them even try to Murder the Hypotenuse in the hopes of having Souma for themselves. And yes, he got this kind of attention during his childhood as well which led to him being a victim of sexual abuse and rape.
    • You can't forget Masataka, who has Souma himself lusting after him, as well as Katsuragi's unsavory interest in him.
  • Thor from Jyu-Oh-Sei:
Zabi: You're beautiful...such a rare sight in such an ugly world.
Thor: Beautiful? Don't you usually say things like that to girls?
  • Prince in ½ Prince. The female main character is the only female who plays as a male in a hugely popular online game. The gay guy in her party, who's her university lecturer IRL, is infatuated with her Bishōnen character. Also, Prince acquires a large Unwanted Harem of both male and female admirers.
  • Dr. Naoki Irie from Itazura Na Kiss. The flamboyant Motoki is constantly lusting after him.
  • Kyou Kara Maou:
  • Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts:
    • Akihisa Yoshii has five people that like him, including another guy and his sister. He was also originally rated #1 by the schools group of gay guys.
    • And then there's Hideyoshi Kinoshita. There are subtle hints in the novel that Hideyoshi might have a small crush on Yoshii too. This is brought up in the anime series when Yoshii says it is Minami's boyishness rather than girlishness that makes her attractive to him.
  • Memori from Game×Rush. Played for comedy, when the judo team ("Can I call you 'Big Brother'?!"), the G-ing bodyguards, and the male kids at the elementary school become big fans of Memori.
  • Kaze to Ki no Uta:
    • It seems like almost every male character has or would be willing to have sex with Gilbert.
    • Serge is already a Chick Magnet and also attracts attention from Gilbert, Sebastien, and Rosemarine.
    • Rosemarine has got Jules in love with him.
  • Naruse Fuuta of Kawaii Akuma. He's so pretty and cute that everyone in his school, guys and girls alike, frequently comment on his beauty, fawn over him, wait on him hand and foot, act incredibly protective of him, and get jealous if he spends too much time with his boyfriend, Akiyoshi. Akiyoshi himself also counts as Naruse is obsessively and unhealthily in love with him, and he also had a fellow classmate try to jump him while his back was turned and a straight guy mentioned he wouldn't mind kissing Akiyoshi since he's so cute without his glasses.
  • Ayase of Okane Ga Nai is an extreme case where 95% of the straight guys he meets will either fall in love with him or simply want to have sex with him. This was lampshaded in an omake at the end of Chapter 39, where the auto mechanic thinks about how both President Kanou and his employee Kuba seem to be in love with Ayase but claim they're not gay. He then looks at his employees who are all drooling over Ayase, and concludes that Ayase-fever must be contagious.
    • Ironically, the only men who aren't interested in Ayase at all are the gay guys. Who are interested in Kanou. Which makes sense, actually: Ayase is attractive to females because he's a Bishounen and attractive to straight males because he's delicate and pretty and adorable., while Kanou is attractive to the gay males (also females) because he's, like, crazy-uber-masculine , which fits in the Bara Genre stereotype that Japanese gay men are more fond of.
  • Masashi of Onii-chan to Issho. Mizusawa falls for a cross-dressing Masashi and calls him "Boss Lady". This does not desist even when Masashi is dressed in masculine clothing. In general, most men who do not realize Masashi's true gender are attracted to him. Additionally, from Tsuyoshi's point of view, this trope also applies to Rin, his Unlucky Childhood Friend.
  • Alviss of MÄR. "Man, Alviss-dono is popular among both men and women!", as stated by Edward during episode 88's Mär Heaven Network. Also, his enemy Phantom attempts to kiss him twice, brainwashes him and keeps him chained to his throne, and Alviss was practically molested by him.
  • Katekyō Hitman Reborn!:
    • Ryohei has had Lussuria go into fanboy mode over his muscular physique, declare that he's just his type, and promptly decide to take him home and make him a part of his "collection".
    • Tsuna's former rivals and enemies have become quite affectionate and friendly to him since being defeated by him. Gokudera's, Yamamoto's, Dino's, Enma's, and Mukuro's actions around him certainly says much. Gokudera, in particular is his hardcore fanboy.
      • Also, Xanxus. He views everyone as trash, but has something with Tsuna. While still condescending as hell, has been vocal in always standing together with him and willing to lend support in times of crisis.
    • Mukuro too. Ken and Chikusa really like him.
    • Dino as well. Tsuna really likes him and looks up to him and in chapter 364 when Dino introduces himself as Tsuna's new English teacher we get a reaction shot of the class with the girls and one boy blushing here.
  • In the first episode of Death Note, a surprising number of men seem to be checking out Light. At each crossing he stops at, someone is giving him a sideways glance. And then there's his slightly too agog teacher when he listens to Light translate some lines to Japanese.
    • Let's see, you've got like every background character in episode 1, Ryuk follows him around everywhere, Raye Penber The Stalker, L and his weird obsession and surveillance cameras, Misa showing up on his door step, Takada directly asking him out, Matsuda and Mikami the Fanboys, and Near with his creepy smiles and rapist vibes and he keeps calling and hanging up and how in the manga he wanted to keep Light...Kira is a wanted man.
  • Gokusen:
  • Kyo Sogoru of Zegapain. He has a Straight Gay character named Lu Sheng who loves him and possibly also Tomigai since he was willing to give his Sacred First Kiss to Kyo while filming a love scene for a movie Ryoko was making.
  • Kou Ichinomiya from Arakawa Under the Bridge. Takai, who's Straight Gay, is very crazy for him.
  • Minamoto from Zettai Karen Children. Kyosuke certainly wants him and Sakaki does too.
  • Maid-Sama!: Usui in the anime adaptation. Can't blame them. Even straight guys in Real Life want to kiss him!
  • The Tower of Druaga: Utu. When Jil first sees him without his helmet on, he blushes and says he didn't think Utu would be that good looking.
  • Pandora Hearts: Oz, Gil, and Break apply. Gil is heavily implied to be in love with Oz, and Break sometimes engages in some playful flirting with Oz as well. Plus, when he was disguised as a maid a male worker seemed to approve blushed heavily at the sight which and Oz complained it made him look like he was hot for him and Gil agreed with the man saying Oz looked "gorgeous". Also, Vincent is a Crazy Jealous Guy for Gil (who is already a Chick Magnet) and Break likes to flirt with Gil. Oz can get pretty possessive about Gil at times too. Break also garnered a crush from Sharon and when he crossdressed Oz comments that he feels his heart beating madly and says he feels slightly attracted to Break when he's like this.
    • Isla Yura is a huge Jack/Oz fanboy to the point of blushing while fawning over Oz/Jack, following him around, and releasing heart marks.
  • Yuki of Betrayal Knows My Name. Almost everyone in the cast absolutely adores and loves him, including the main villain.
    • Also Luka—he is a major Chick Magnet and male!Yuki has mutual Ho Yay with him. Elegy, who is said to be male in the manga, has a romantic/sexual obsession with him.
  • Angel Beats!
    • Otonashi. Naoi is obsessed in a Ho Yay-riffic kind of way with him and is his hardcore fanboy. Hinata has his fair share of moments where he seems interested in Otonashi, though he denies being gay. Igarashi, the guy who helped Otonashi take care of the train crash survivors, shows some of this towards him, too.
    • T.K. saying in episode 12 when he saw Matsushita all slim and fit and without a shirt. "Tasty Candy."
  • Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Played straight, subverted, or both at once, depending on how you look at it. His interactions with Kaworu fall very deeply into Ho Yay territory, but end very messily. None of his relationships with the other characters turn out well either, due to his insecurities and everyone else's unique psychological issues.
    • On the other hand, Ryoji Kaji jokingly(?) flirts with him in Rebuild 2.0, and, in Shinji Ikari Raising Project, Shinji gets unwanted attention from both Kaworu and Gendo.
      • There's a deleted/alternate scene on the 2.22 DVD where Kaji is introduced in a tram car, which ends with him suddenly saying "I love you" to Shinji before ducking out.
    • And Kaworu himself as well, as Shinji appears to be If It's You, It's Okay towards him.
      • Rebuild 3.33 expands on the relationship between Shinji and Kaworu much more than in NGE. In fact, they spend half the entire movie just elaborating on this, mostly because Kaworu was actually a surprisingly popular character, despite being an Angel. He's also the only person who manages to make Shinji smile at all in 3.33, referencing his famous line from 2.22: "I'll make you happy this time, Shinji-kun."
  • Otomen:
    • Asuka is regarded as "the kind of guy other men fall in love with" by members of his kendo club. When he's rumored to move to America he even gets a group of guys confessing their love for him.
    • And then there's Juuta, who doesn't even hide the fact that he finds Asuka very charming, calls him Asuka-chan, tends to lose his sense of personal space around him, and even flirts with him a few times.
  • Shungo from Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun. In episode three, he has groups of Macho Camp guys fawning over him and trying to come on to him. Also, Mayu's older brother Mikihiro has Ho Yay towards Shungo. He often goes out of his way to playfully tease him by getting in his face (literally), cornering him when no one's around, holding him close to his body so he can't get away when dragging him off to train, and even stalking him.
  • Tesshou from Wild Life. Professor Ryoto constantly hits on him.
  • Cain from Count Cain. Oscar is in love with him. Also he gets some girls that like him and a few ambiguously intimate moments with Riff his butler. There's also Ariel (a boy) calling Cain "cute".
  • Naruto.
    • Kakashi. In one filler scene, a ramen waitress and her father blush and get all googly-eyed upon seeing Kakashi's handsome face.
    • Naruto gains a Chick Magnet status following saving Konoha and his defeat of Gaara and positive influence in his life has turned him into his fanboy. He outright states that everything he had to endure in his life was worth it because he got to meet Naruto and that meeting Naruto was the best moment of his life. He also thinks of Naruto a lot, worries over him, and touches him a lot. Orochimaru also flirts with him and Kabuto calls him cute. Jiraiya, who's primarily straight and into the ladies, even seemed to be hitting on him in one scene with (Japanese sub) "You're quite sexy when you get naked" and (English dub) "You know, you have quite a tight, sexy, little body."
    • And that's without getting into the massive amount of Ho Yay Naruto and Sasuke have in canon with occasional hints of something more going on even after both get married to girls.
    • Sasuke is a Chick Magnet and has Orochimaru directing uncomfortable subtext towards him by calling him "beautiful" and wanting his body and Udon was once shown going all googly eyed over Sasuke after he saved them from Kankuro.
  • Tooru, Yuujiro, and Mikoto from Princess Princess. Basically, the whole plot involves the three girly-looking men in an all-boys high school dressing up as "Princesses" in Elegant Gothic Lolita clothing in order to be fawned over and adored by the general student population. They also have a tendency to be hit on by guys even when they're not in "Princess" clothing and Yuujiro himself seems to have considerable Ho Yay towards Tooru, which is occasionally reciprocated.
  • Kaname from Vampire Knight has this "problem". He already has Yuki, Ruka, Sara, and countless screaming Day Class girls who want him. Not to mention all those Nobles practically shoving their daughters at him at the Aido family's soirée. But on top of all this, he has a very one-sided bromance with Hanabusa, and if you look closely there's a guy in line to give him chocolates in the Valentines Day chapter. And then there's Ichijou's loyalty and concern for Kaname brought to new and interesting heights as of the latest chapter if his conversation with Yuuki is anything to go by.
  • Kanata from Oto x Maho. Everyone wants him, be they male, female, straight, gay—you name it, they want him.
  • Daisuke from D.N.Angel. He's subject to some major Ho Yay whenever Satoshi and Keiji are around, and he also gets some Ho Yay with Dark and Rokuto. It is hinted that Satoshi may have romantic feelings for Daisuke. When this is brought up, he doesn't openly confess to anything, though he never denies the accusations either. If anything, he encourages the idea, which has led to the source of much confusion regarding his motives. It has even been stated outright by Dark that Daisuke is the one who causes Satoshi to turn into Krad. Krad himself has also hinted at Satoshi possibly wanting more than a friendship from Daisuke at least once in the anime, and more than twice in the manga.
  • Takara from Moe Kare. The entire school seems to love him regardless of gender or age.
  • Psyren: Ageha Yoshina. Oboro likes him a lot.
  • Kamui from X1999. Sorata Arisugawa gets pretty flirty with him in the early chapters of the manga and Fuma and Keiichi have Ho Yay towards him. Fuma too as Kamui has mutual Ho Yay towards him as well. And while Subaru has a Big Brother Mentor approach to him, they don't exactly escape the Ho Yay either.
    • Seishirou, too. Not only does Subaru still struggle with his feelings for him despite their bloody history, but he and Fuma got along scarily well when they met.
  • Takuto Tsunashi from Star Driver.
  • Natsume's Book of Friends:
  • Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru has Minoru, who is lusted after and almost raped by Pedro, a Brazilian martial artist.
  • Shido from Nightwalker. Cain has kissed him, said that he loves him, and stalks him.
  • Naru Taru: Takeo Tsurumaru. Norio is secretly in love with him.
  • Karakurizoushi Ayatsuri Sakon: Sakon. He melts the girls around him and he seems to be a little bit aware of this fact but he is too shy to do something about. His friend Fujita says, "Although I'm a guy, I think he is hot stuff."
  • Barajou no Kiss: Tenjou is shown having a horde of adoring fans of both genders. His vice president is rather, ah, devoted.
  • Blood+: In the novels, Kai muses to himself that even guys like him wouldn't be able to deny how attractive Haji is.
  • Clover: Kazuhiko. Barus is especially fond of him, and likes to call him his "prince". And, uh, snuggle with his severed hand at night.
  • Kuranosuke from Princess Jellyfish who gets endless crushes from girls and a few guys blush around him and comment on his attractiveness with one older guy being outright attracted to him.
  • Kaoru of ...Virgin Love is frequently mistaken for a model, turns heads wherever he goes, and even his lover is a former ladykiller who was more than willing to make an exception based on his looks.
  • Gravitation:
    • Shuichi Shindou. He and Yuki are lovers, Hiro seems to be willing to make an exception for him, and it was revealed in the sequel series that Ryuichi has the hots for him as well.
    • Ryuichi and Yuki themselves, too. Tatsuha and Touma, have feelings for them respectively and Shuichi is dating Yuki.
  • No. 6: Nezumi, when the two mooks called him a "fine jewel" and demanded that he "play" with them as "payment" from him after he kisses the prostitute. It's implied they meant kissing/sex. Also implied by Rikiga when he flirts with Nezumi and offers him a job as a gigolo and he gets angry over how Nezumi fooled him with his pretty face that is hiding a sly and caustic personality. Inukashi (who is dfab but seems to present as male) has to remind him that Nezumi is a guy though they also have a tsundere affection towards Nezumi and comment on his good looks. Sion has mutual Homoerotic Subtext with him, kisses him on the lips twice, says he's drawn to and in love with Nezumi, and in the novels finds himself feeling sexually tempted by Nezumi. And he sometimes uses his sex appeal to charm other guys into doing things for him. In chapter 14, a male top No. 6 official also hits on him before Nezumi tortures him.
    • And not to mention Shion, who is the target of love by Safu (with her going as far to demand he have sex with her), gets kissed and propositioned by a female prostitute, has Inukashi, who is implied to be dfab and presents as male, act in a tsundere and very affectionate manner towards him occasionally which includes Lecherous Licking, has Homoerotic Subtext with Nezumi in the most blatant case and is even kissed by him. Also, in chapter 6, a random guy comes up to Sion and hits on him, saying, "You're very pretty, like a doll" and tries to force him to have meat and alcohol with him. Rikiga even gets in on the act at times as he calls Shion an angel and a saint with pretty eyes, believes the best of him and that he can do no harm, goes out of his way to be nice to him and help him with others telling Rikiga it's not in his nature to be so nice, and offers to buy him new things as well as worries over him.
  • Shin from Nana.
  • Ranmarou from Ikoku Irokoi Romantan. Even Gondou, who is straight and in love with Kaouru, is tempted by him.

  • Florian from Gorgeous Carat. It's the Purple Eyes and pretty boy looks.
  • Both Mochizuki and Honma of Boku No Sexual Harassment.
  • Dee and Ryo from FAKE. Jemmy and Berkeley anyone? Not to mention that Dee and Ryo are a couple.
  • Takahashi Misaki from Junjou Romantica. Usagi, Haruhiko, and Ijuuin have passionate feelings for Misaki.
  • Ranmaru from Kizuna. Repeatedly, to the point where even his kendo club members tend to have a thing for him. Even guys trying to kill him seem to have enough time to remark on how hot he is. Although, really, it's not like you could blame them.
  • Sora from Sukisho. Sunao and Hiromu Sakura are in love with him and Minato has attempted to have sex with him. Sunao too. He has Sora as a lover and many guys have flirted with him or commented on how attractive he is. And Nagase Kai, as Gaku Ichikawa is in love with him and Kai Nanami has Shinichirou as a lover and has had Soushi come on to him.
  • Takuto Izumi from Zetsuai 1989. Kouji, despite being a womanizer, was more than willing to make an exception for him.
  • Takanari from Shinshi Doumei Cross. Maguri has a completely obvious and unabashed crush on him.
  • Tokidoki "Toki" Rikugou of Amatsuki. Kurotobi constantly hits on Toki, calls him cute and touches him a lot. Other characters in the series, male or female, also show interest in him.
  • Negi from Mahou Sensei Negima! is a major Chick Magnet already, but in this chapter is appears that he has his arch-rival Fate as a possible love interest pining for his affections. The end of the chapter even reads that the strongest love (?) rival appears. So yup, he counts, and we're damn shocked it took this long. It even continues into the sequel.
  • Makoto Fujitani from Karin. Lots of guys seem enamored with him because of his beautiful looks and have frequently tried to jump him.
    • Ren is good looking enough to attract numerous woman and Makoto and the male student council presidents get flustered around him and are enamored by his good looks.
  • Antique Bakery: Ono has a reputation as a "Gay of Demonic Charm" and has been fired multiple times for (sometimes accidentally) charming his straight coworkers and bosses.
  • Kinjiro from Airmaster. One guy (Nagato) says he wants to have his babies and asks him for a kiss which he reluctantly gives to take the pain of an injury away.
  • Hei of Darker Than Black is a major Chick Magnet. In the second season, Genma declares his love for him.
  • The titular character of Kunisaki Izumo no Jijou often attracts unwanted attention from guys due to his looks. Being a natural in playing as an onnagatanote  in kabuki does not help either (at least in his opinion).
  • Breakfast Club: Akira.
  • Vassalord:
    • Pretty much everyone who comes across Rayflo wants to sleep with him.
    • Charley also gets attention from Rayflo and at the end they become an Official Couple.
  • Get Backers has Kazuki. Also, there's Ban. Takuma Fudou has a one-sided homoerotic obsession with him.
  • In InuYasha, Inuyasha found himself on the receiving end of Jakotsu's attentions, who was quite determined to show Inuyasha the affection he always gives to his favorites...which involves death and carved ears. Jakotsu did also admit that he found Miroku and Sesshoumaru very attractive as well...but his heart was now loyal to Inuyasha.
  • Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann has Kamina, Simon, Viral, and Rossiu. Leeron openly flirts with all of them at one point or another.
  • Brief from Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. Unfortunately for him, he is usually the object of bondage-obsessed Garterbelt's affections.
  • Okiura from Kenko Zenrakei Suieibu Umisho. In the manga, he ends up attracting a Straight Gay character.
  • George from Paradise Kiss.
  • Rurouni Kenshin: Seijiro Hiko, full stop. Kenshin to an extent.
  • Vash of Trigun. His brother Knives has a very twisted love for him and Legato seems to be hitting on him at one point. Knives as well as Legato has a twisted love for him.
  • Kare Kano: Arima Soichiro has the power to inspire blushes and dreamy feelings in any male he sees.
  • Ranma ½: During the Koi Rod arc Ranma (in both his male and female forms) falls in love with Ryoga due to being hit with the fishing rod of love, causing much fan rejoice from the shippers.
  • Gon of Hunter × Hunter. Killua has considerable Ho Yay towards him and Hisoka clearly has the hots for him. He's also a Chick Magnet.
    • Killua has his brother and Gon showing affection towards him.
    • Kurapika garners attention from men for his beautiful looks.
  • Ludwig of Ludwig Revolution. Very much canon with Julius's interest in Ludwig.
  • Played straight in Doushitemo Furetakunai: The main character captures the attention of several "straight" guys during the story.
  • Magic Knight Rayearth: Zagato. Innouva (male) is in love with him and so is Alcyone (female).
  • Busou Renkin: Kazuki. Tokiko eventually falls in love with him and decides to stay at his side, and it's very obvious that Papillon is obsessed with him as well.
  • Persona 4: The Animation has Yu Narukami a.k.a. the Main Character. During Episode 19, Yosuke apparently has very confusing feelings for him during the group date. Which actually comes from an event in the game, only with the Ho Yay amped Up to Eleven.
  • Phi Brain: Puzzle of God: Kaito. Very, very blatant with Rook and Cubic's interest in him.
  • Battle Spirits: J.
  • Brave10 has its share:
  • Kamisama Kiss.
    • Kurama. In-universe and out-universe.
    • Tomo gets a lot of girls after him as well as Akura acting like a Crazy Jealous Guy for him.
    • Ookuninushi is also a Chick Magnet and has Otohiko head over heels for him.
  • Ko Kijin in Saiunkoku Monogatari is so beautiful that when he took the examination to qualify for government office, his looks distracted the other candidates so much that only he and two other people—both friends of his who were already accustomed to his beauty—were able to pass the exams, and thirty officials had to be fired for forgetting to ring the bell to signal the end of the exam period. He eventually took to wearing a mask constantly in order to hide his face, and even the threat of having him take off his mask during court is enough to cause chaos; when he actually takes it off, it entrances anyone who looks at him and sends several men into hysterics.
  • Inugami of Wolf Guy - Wolfen Crest is lusted after by Haguro and Ryuuko after they learn of his werewolf form. Local Hot Teacher Aoshika develops a crush on him as well.
  • Mawaru-Penguindrum: The seventh audio drama reveals that Shouma's friend Yamashita has a crush on him.
  • Corsair: Canale, the resident blind Long-Haired Pretty Boy, gets raped/attempted raped fairly consistently from the age of seven upwards. His brother has an unwanted lust for him. Ayace's in love with him.
  • Seimaden: Laures is hit by this so very much. Tetius, Count Berk, and Count Marion all want him due to his beauty and strength.
  • Love Pistols: Half of the cast really. Played for humor in Norio's case, since it scares the hell out of him when his Smells Sexy pheromones suddenly kick in.
  • Lotte no Omocha: Naoya. When in a dress, he was ogled by the men in the Queen's harem and Kilik, and in normal clothes, by Griselda's mentor and adopted father, Atori (unknown to poor Griselda).
  • Hana no Mizo Shiru: Misaki. Kind of a given, since it's a Boys' Love manga, but in addition to Arikawa and Kawabata, it's also generally said around school that his feminine looks attract men (and that he was sexually harassed by a male upperclassman one year).
  • A Cruel God Reigns: Ian, although it is often played for laughs. This also applies to Jeremy several times.
  • Kirito of Sword Art Online: Almost every girl Kirito meets seems to fall for him, and it's also heavily implied that Klein, a male character, has a thing for Kirito.
  • The Ping-Pong Club: Yusuke to the point that when in drag his classmates declare him more beautiful than any woman.
  • One Piece
    • During the Dressrosa arc, when "White Horse" Cavendish, the "Prince Pirate" and captain of the Beautiful Pirates is introduced, several women faint from his mere appearance. He also attracts quite a few admiring looks and comments from the men (who all happen to be rough and tough gladiators), too.
    • Luffy is a major Chick Magnet and the very male Bartolomeo is obsessed with Luffy. He blushes and stutters more than lovesick Hancock. Then there's when they meet during episode 658. LOTS of sparkles, Bartolomeo is acting like a lovesick schoolgirl, and we're treated to him seeing a bishounen Luffy, which is the same thing Hancock does.
    • Sanji. Duval's reveals he's got a crush on Sanji. And he had drag queens on Okama Island flirting with him and dressing him up for two years. Also the two men on Fishman Island who gave him blood transfusions.
  • Unrepentant Mad Scientist bastard he may be, even the most vehement of Huey Laforet's detractors in Baccano! will openly admit he's a damn pretty man. One of Victor's many complaints about Huey is that, along with being a crazy, dangerous, and morally bankrupt genius who will do anything For Science!, he's also "too goddamn handsome for [his] own good."
    • Firo is pretty enough to have had defend himself from a rape attempt by a guy that mistook him as a girl and was told that he'd probably be popular among the male inmates if he ended up in prison.
  • Ayumu Mikoshiba from Otasuke Miko Miko-chan by virtue of his extremely attractive effeminate looks. Amplified when he cross-dresses.
  • Several examples in Makai Ouji
    • Sitri whose Instant Fan Club at school consists of over 200 members. At the all-boys Boarding School he attends, he's the closest thing to a girl. Also, Baalberith calls Sytry his "Beautiful doll" and is heavily implied to have kissed him off screen. Metatron carries Sytry bridal style in heaven. It's also implied he kissed Sytry at the end of the chapter. While disguised as a young student at William's school Metatron says Sytry is cute and that he wishes he could marry him. Sytry is unconcerned that they're both men, instead stating it's unfortunate that he (Sytry) is an expensive date.
    • Solomon/Willaim. He gets ship tease with all the pillars we've seen him interact with, Kevin and Dantalion have affection towards them both, and not to mention that the ending theme of the anime is basically Dantalion, Sytry, and Camio declaring their unrequited love for both William and Solomon.
    • Dantalion gets a lot of fanboys in William's school due to his sheer machoism.
    • When the younger students send letters to upperclassmen they admire requesting to be their fags (butlers), they're compared to love letters and both Dantalion and Sytry get tons of them. When Dantalion watches William's first meeting with Sean, at first he assumes it's a date, then gets jealous because he wants William's "affection" for himself.
      • While Dantalion and Sytry get off screen scene, Camio as the head boy get an on screen scene of a boy requesting to be his fag, and the said boy is moaning about not wanting to be anyone else's fag but Camio's. The scene is complete with flying hearts.
  • Aoi from Aoi Destruction is constantly being hit on by men and has a legion of lovestruck boys. He's nearly forty but looks like a middle school girl.
  • Of a similar nature, in Gunsmith Cats, Bean manages to get a proclamation of sexual/romantic interest from Misty Brown, an out and open lesbian who otherwise spends most of the series pursuing Rally (herself a currently celibate lesbian) and ends up as the lover of Psycho Lesbian Goldie. Admittedly, this happened after he took a bullet to save her.
  • High School D×D:
    • Issei Hyoudou, who's also one powerful Chick Magnet, starts to attract male admirers, which greatly annoys and embarrasses him since he's straight and worries that this will ruin his chances of attracting women. Yuuto Kiba and Gasper Vladi would like to have a word on the matter, haremettes.
    • Gasper was able to collect fanboys for his effeminate appearance despite the fact that they know that he's male.

And in chapter 114 of re even trans man Mutsuki is said to have a obsessive and romantic/sexual love towards Sasaki/Kaneki. Hajime is also revealed to be very attached to Kaneki to an unhealthy and Loony Fan degree. He rubs up against a cell door that separates him and Kaneki while talking about how much he admires him and his strength with only their clothes and the door separating them. His best friend Hide is implied to have something for him too and also gives the reason behind why he goes so far for Kaneki as because he “loves” him. He remains Kaneki’s devoted friend for the rest of his life.
    • Tsukiyama's good looks do not go unnoticed by numerous girls and guys who all think he has what it takes to be a model and causes blushing among them. In the Volume 5 omake, Kazuo was shown photographing Tsukiyama and showering him with praise, before Kaneki walked in the room. He was lovingly taking photos of Tsukiyama's crotch and butt.

Also, Ayato takes a liking to Rio in the Jail saying things like: "Come with me to Aogiri, Rio! Let’s change this rotting world together." and "We’ll surely meet again, I feel like we’re destined to do so." and "I like you." Also, Before you fight against Ayato, he gives you a can of coffee to drink as thanks (you helped him escape from Amon and Akira from an earlier scenario). And after Rio fought Ayato, they both fell unconscious on the ground. Rio wakes up and was surprised to see Ayato was still around. Then Ayato starts spouting compliments to Rio. Kaneki is also fond of him too and saves him from a persistent female admirer.

By this point, a lot of people in the Cardfight Club is gunning for Aichi and Kai and a good fair few other characters.

    • Shiro is implied to have inspired crushes in Neko and Kuroh.
  • Free!: With all the homoerotic subtext going around between almost all the guys this comes into play a few times but Haruka in particular gets a moment in Episode 9, after winning the relay and Haruka gets out of the pool, Nagisa exclaims aloud "I love you, Haru-chan!" and hugs him, wrapping his legs around his waist and clinging onto him. It's also worth noting that he used 'aishiteru', which carries far heavier romantic connotations than 'daisuki'.
  • Devil Survivor 2: Hibiki in the anime and video game. Yamato has an obsession with him that can be interpreted as a crush. Made more apparent in the anime. Alcor also constantly refers to him as the Shining One and is quite close with him.
  • Ryu of Detective School Q. Older women, young girls and little girls blush at the sight of him. Then there's the Ho Yay with Kyuu and the Foe Yay with Anubis.
  • Adekan:
    • Shiro. Lampshaded in story and a man blatantly hits on Shiro (who's already a Chick Magnet), while his heart is beating madly, including touching his face and comparing his eyes to ”dewdrops”. To be fair, Shiro was turning up the sex appeal in order to manipulate him. Turns out that the man intended to capture Shiro for his beauty, planning to sell his services in prostitution. Saburouta's friend and co-worker Wakabayashi has admitted to "fucking Shiro at least fifty times" in his mind. And then there's Anri's fixation on him as well as the Ho Yay with Kojiro. A bunch of drag queens later rope Shiro into crossdressing as a nurse and comment on how cute he is while releasing hearts marks and trying to get him to eat Body Sushi off one of them. Shinohome also has an obsession with Shiro, especially after Shiro cuts his hair to escape from him when made his Sex Slave.
    • Kojiro is also a Chick Magnet, Shiro's interested in him, Anri admits to finding him attactive and wanting to sleep with him, and Ippei can get rather affectionate towards him as well.
    • Anri is shown to be so Bishōnen that he attracts both women and men who want to "play" with him or comment on his attractiveness. Naturally, him being a Depraved Bisexual makes him okay with this. He was also made into a Sex Slave to his troupe leader in his youth due to his looks.

  • Undertaker Riddle: Hayato and Riddle, because of their mutual Ho Yay. For example, Riddle once said that Hayato's beauty should be considered a sin. Also, one arc is about Riddle and Sakura investigating in an all-boys school. They all squee in delight at Riddle's beauty and sometimes Hayato's too. Also, Hayato is considered so cute that he attracts girl ghosts as well.
  • Family Complex: Even though he's very popular among girls, the most aggressive of Harumi's suitors are men — as a result, his female fans can't approach him.
  • Momogumi Plus Senki: Yuuki, full stop. From the very beginning his Unwanted Harem consists of more guys than girls (there's only one girl Yukishiro in his animal companion team, and two males, Sawa and Masahiko. ) Then some of the onis became quite close with him as well...Subverted that initially Kikyou doesn't know Yuuki is a guy, and Kou barely had any other friend so he can't tell the difference of being normal friend and trying to make a romantic approach. Also Sawa himself, who got the reincarnation of The Little Mermaid to fall for him... And said mermaid reincarnation is a guy.
  • Takara of Komatta Toki Ni Wa Hoshi Ni Kike has attracted a few guys throughout the series.
  • Aki of Honto Yajuu to Ueda's annoyance. Aki even makes Ueda's parents that are still married get flustered.
  • Texhnolyze: Ichise is hit on by Toyama's father and Toyama himself has some Ho Yay towards him. One guy comments on how nice he cleans up, saying that there's no doubt Toyama would be beside himself if he saw Ichise all dressed up in a suit with his hair slicked back. Another random guy who encounters him in the street in an early episode hits on him too. Ichise is also known to attract the attention of some women with two outright trying to have sex with him.
  • Minamoto-kun Monogatari: The male "love master" notes Terumi's attractiveness and wonders why girls aren't flocking to his side. He later gains the Chick Magnet status as well. There's also when Terumi undressed from his yukata. For girls, they can't get enough of it. For guys, they're either excited or confused. Or both.
  • Silver Diamond: Rakan. Chigusa seems to have a crush on Rakan which includes carrying Rakan, holding Rakan, getting Rakan to sleep on his chest, looking at Rakan, smiling at Rakan... It's not clear whether Rakan has noticed his attentions, but everybody else has.
  • Hanasakeru Seishounen: Women (And Men!) fall for Eugene as soon as they see his face. He is just that pretty.

  • Tetsuo from Yuureitou is a handsome trans man who attracts the eyes of quite a few women (and a few men).
  • Seraph of the End:
    • Yuu is a Chick Magnet (Shinoa, Mitsuba, and a nameless girl are interested in him and in the Bloody Blades idol event there are girls in the audience who comment on his good looks) and gets this constantly from Mika (a motivation for a lot of the things he does is because of Yuu, he says Yuu is the only man he's living for, as well as his No Sense of Personal Space around Yuu and carrying him in a Bridal Carry and caring more about Yuu than anyone else, Kimizuki (he acts Tsundere around him), Yoichi (he's a big fan of Yuu's after he saves him and loves to glomp him as well as say how much he admires him, Crowley (he flirts with Yuu and calls him "cute"), and Ferid (refers to Yuu with cutesy nicknames and calls him cute why saying it's obvious just looking at Yuu why Mika is so attached to him, has a desire to bite him, and hits on him after seeing him again while commenting on his good looks before biting him.) His male demon Ashuramaru is also incredibly happy when Yuu promises to love him and makes statements about wanting to "ravish" his body. A Q&A implies that his whole squad has a thing for him.
    • Mika has mutual Ho Yay with Yuu and occasionally Ferid makes passes at him as well with Krul saying she likes him too. It's also revealed that Akane had a crush on him. Also, in the Bloody Blades idols event numerous girls comment on his Pretty Boy looks.
    • Girls are attracted to Guren like bees to honey and Shinya has also been known to tease and flirt with him. His demon Noya and the vampire Saito in the light novels also have some interesting ways of expressing their fondness for him.

  • Kazahaya of Drug & Drop is a Chick Magnet and has legions of fanboys at an all boys school he briefly attends. Also, Rikuo, Kakei, and Sagai normally direct much Ho Yay towards him.
    • Rikuo is a Chick Magnet and it's implied Kazahaya is developing something for him with his Tsundere behavior around him.
  • Assassination Classroom: Nagisa. When a disguise makes them think he's a girl, that is. And possibly even when they know he's a boy.
  • Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto: Sakamoto has a plethora of fangirls who just can't get enough of his coolness and Acchan is his fanboy.
  • Ratman: Shuto Katsuragi, the titular Anti Villain known as Ratman, is completely oblivious to the idea that his classmate Mirea Mizushima (who is part of the "evil" organization who turned him into Ratman) and Rio Kizaki (daughter of the Hero Association's president), or even Fatman's sister Anzu are interested in anything more than being nice and friendly to him, which they are. This even extends to Shiki constantly calling him cute and having No Sense of Personal Space around him.
  • Demetrio from Endride has a tendency to inspire instant Undying Loyalty, or at a minimum, wow everyone regardless of gender with his Badass Normal fighting skills, idealistic rhetoric, and general magnetism (or is it the charming smile and Nice Hat?). At least one member of the male cast is in love with him and it takes all of about ten minutes after their introduction for the main character to start trashing his co-protagonist over not being as awesome as Demetrio is.
  • Nozomu Nozomi: Yasu might not know about Nozomu's secret, but he admits that Nozomu turns him on with his feminine looks.
  • Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches:
    • Miyamura. Other than his fangirls, we have Kurosaki as one of his more passionate admirers. Yamada's also had more than one ambiguous moment with him.
    • Yamada himself has attracted quite a lot of girls throughout the series - Shiraishi, Odagiri, Otsuka (though she is attracted to Shiraishi's personality in his body), Takigawa, Konno, Kimishima, Sasaki (at least in the first chapter), Himekawa, and Nancy are obviously in love with him, and Itou and Sarushima are sometimes implied to have crushes on him. He's also received Ship Tease with most other girls. Of the guys it includes Miyamura to the point where he has no problem kissing him, but other guys are not afraid to get physical with him too: Yamazaki, Tamaki and Tsubaki had their moments as well.
  • Ash from Banana Fish attracts people who comment on his "beautiful" looks and Eiji has no problem kissing Ash.
  • Hijikata in Kaze Hikaru is portrayed as a very handsome man who is frequently chased after by admirers, many whom are male, much to his annoyance. When he was younger, a male clerk apparently tried to come onto him and then there's Ito who shamelessly harasses and flirts with Hijikata.
  • Pokémon: Ash. The list of girls to have shown canon feelings for him include Misty, Melody, Macey, Anabel, Angie, and Serena. To say nothing of the Pokémon (like Chikorita, Latias, Smoochum, Aipom, Oshawott and maybe Meloetta) who have developed crushes on him. In regards to the guys Pikachu might have something towards Ash considering their touchy feely relationship, Brock's Stupid Sexy Flanders moment towards Ash in the episode Love at First Flight where May tricked Ash into dressing up as a woman they had just met, named Juliet, in order to help a man named Romeo confess the feelings that he had for Juliet. Brock thought the disguise was so good he forgot what they were doing, even chasing poor Ash around and trying to hug him while declaring "My sweet Juliet! Heal me with your love!" and releasing hearts as well as his occasional Ho Yay with Ash. Then there's Alain from the Mega Evolution specials who had no real motive to enter the Kalos League and was not collecting badges until he met Ash and his particularly special Greninja. Come 2 episodes before the big event, and Alain has already collected enough badges to enter the league. His motive to do so? Just to fight Ash. Weirder still is how Alain has the special benefit of just walking to a trainer and ask for a battle, but he makes the occasion very important just for Ash. The fact that he even comments that he never felt this strange feeling until fighting Ash, and he was seen smiling from this. Mind you, he has been scowling ever since Act 4, and it was fighting Ash that brought him to smile. Clemont has been thoroughly inspired by Ash, always looking up to him. And there's that angst he had, thinking he "couldn't satisfy" Ash in battle which leads to him leaving the gang for a while. The gym battle itself is Clemont dedicating himself towards Ash. And then there's the insert song "Kira Kira", which is referred to as Clemont's character song, a song about him being inspired by Ash and saying how much Ash means to him. Ash and Cilan get their share of Ho Yay as well with Cilan's very campy nature and Hero Worship of Ash, which often comes off as obsessive or romantic. Seymour also praised and hugged Ash a bit too enthusiastically as thanks when the latter saved him.
  • Yowamushi Pedal: Imaizumi loves mentioning that Naruko's fans are mainly guys. (Watanabe explains this decision is because Naruko is popular amongst the male readers), and as shown in the third day of Interhigh, while catching Sohoku up to Hakogaku, both the girls and the guys were watching him in awe, almost as if they had fallen for him.
Male Spectator after Naruko high-fives him: (stares at hand) "I'm gonna root for Sohoku."
  • Yuri!!! on Ice:
    • Yuri Katsuki attracts attention from several other characters for how attractive he can look, his dorky qualities, and his skating skills. Victor makes it no secret that he holds affection towards him and sometimes hits on him and eventually straight-up kisses him, after which point he and Yuri become an Official Couple. Minami's admiration for Yuri as a skater seems to border on some kind of crush. Christophe also makes a point to grab Yuri's butt when greeting him and is implied to want to be involved in something like a threesome with him and Victor. Even his friend Takeshi, who's married, admits that Yuri can be sexy. There has also been hints that Yurio is also interested in him in some way.
    • Victor, being a famous figure skater, has both male and female fans. Besides Yuri having some sort of Celebrity Crush on Victor which he grows out of they get to know each other, when he winks to the public, men and women alike look absolutely smitten. Yurio can also be clingy around Victor as well.
    • Yuri Plisetsky has his share of female fans and when Yuri K. and Victor see how well he cleans up in episode 8 they are shown blushing and looking flabbergasted at him. Obalek is also hinted as having feelings for him.
    • Christophe has screaming hordes of male and female fans attracted to his sex appeal which he incorporates in his skating routines and is implied to have a boyfriend.
  • Rinne himself. When Rinne and Sakura try to pretend to be dating in an attempt to keep Matsugo away from Rinne, Matsugo does anything possible to separate Rinne from Sakura and have Rinne all for himself, because he thinks his "friendship" is more powerful than love. People notice his devotion towards Rinne to the point of comparing him to a girl in love.
  • Your Name: While this works mostly in the other direction, Mitsuha (in Taki's body) actually draws some notice from his friend Tsukasa, who blushes and says that he thought Taki was kind of cute today.
  • Nicol is generally considered the most popular of the boys in Destruction Flag Otome because he not only has fangirls but a large number of fanboys as well. Katarina thinks her brother Keith might be one of them and can't seem to realize that both Nicol and Keith are into her.
  • Steel Angel Kurumi: Nakahito is a Adorkable girly looking young boy who’s cuteness has attracted him a Unwanted Harem of Kurumi, Karinka and Koganei. Then there’s the character Mikhail who even kisses him on the lips in the anime and directs other Ho Yay towards him. Made even more so in the manga where Mikhail doesn’t also have a female form.
  • J in Battle Spirits Shonen Toppa Bashin has hordes of female fangirls. He also has male fans. Smile stalks him and acts possessive of him, and Commentator-san's fixation on him comes off as just plain creepy, due to his being a middle-aged man and J a 12-year-old.
