Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:
- When writing a profile, take note of the following:
- Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
- No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
- You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
- When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
- When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
- You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
- For new and reworked deities, 3 means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
- For new and reworked deities, 4 is a 3 day waiting period.
- 5 is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
- Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
- For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
- For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 is a 3 day waiting period.
- 4 is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
- Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
- The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
- Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
- Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
- Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
- Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
- On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
- When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
- Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
- Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
- To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
- Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.
- Preparing to write:
- First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
- If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
- Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
- In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
- If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
- When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
- All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
- The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
- A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
- If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
- For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
- For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
- Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
- Pantheon Content:
- Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
- As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
- Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
- For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
- For Profile Standards:
- Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
- Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
- Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
- On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
- Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
- Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
- Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
- A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
- Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.
- Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
- Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
- Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
- Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
- Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
- Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.
God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)
- An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
- Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
- Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
- Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
- Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
- For Pokémon deities only:
- Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
- Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
- Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
- Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
- Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
- Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
- High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
- Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
- Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
- Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
- Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
- Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
- Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
- Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
- Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
- Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
- Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
- Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
- Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
- Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
- The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
- The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
- Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
- And some more trivia/facts.
- And a couple of more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.
Template for Dominions profiles:

- Domains: Things that the place has links to.
- Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.

- Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
- Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
- And some more trivia/facts.
- And a couple of more.
- Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

For The Chosen One
That is all for now...That reminds me, it's weird that some mythical creature tropes have gods who are specific characters, but others (eg: Chupacabra) have the original myth itself.
I was once able to have The Illuminati ascend as itself but it later had The Conspiracy added to its title, so thats the general baseline of how we treat characters that are trope themselves.

Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.On Chupacabra, there is a recent movie called Chupa that does feature a Chupacabra as a character.
In general, actually having a character who is that mythology being is preferable if possible.

- If there was ever a man who proved that being a knight doesn't equate to being a good person, it is Gregor Clegane. A giant of a man valued for his inhuman strength, his gigantism resulted in painful migranes that leaves him with a Hair-Trigger Temper and a willingness to kill anyone at the slightest provocation. Even as a young man he burned his brother's face for playing with his toy and would've killed him if he wasn't pulled off. It's rumored he killed his father and sister, and it is known he commits various war crimes like rape, brutal murder and even torture. He is one of the worst people in all of Westeros, and unfortunately his inhuman strength and morality makes him an excellent Psycho for Hire for Tywin Lannister.
- If ever a man deserved to die screaming, it was Gregor Clegane. Even his master Tywin considers him despicable, though not to the extent of disowning him. And Gregor is only loyal to the Lannisters by virtue of being able to indulge in his Psycho for Hire tendencies. Being a sadistic little brat, Joffrey is gleeful at the Mountain serving under the Lannisters. Due to his war crimes in the Riverlands onwards House Stark has wanted his head. House Martell really wants his head because during the siege of King's Landing he murdered prince Aegon Targaryen, raped Elia Martell with the babe's brains still on him and crushed her head. Keep in mind her husband Rhaegar knighted him.
- Personally Oberyn, Rhaegar and Sandor are all competing over who hates the Mountain more. Sandor has known Gregor as a monster since the beginning and the fact he was knighted is what made him so cynical in the first place, and Rhaegar considers knighting Gregor one of his greatest mistakes, even without the crimes he committed against his family. Oberyn Martell directly went out to get his revenge on the Mountain, and though he lost he condemned Gregor to a horrific death by poisoning that partially stuck. On the less noble side the Brave Companions despise the Mountain for dismantling them and hacking apart Vargo Hoat and feeding him "roast goat". It's another sign of how sick the Mountain is, though nobody is crying over Vargo.
- Ser Gregor has the intention of crushing Polneraff and Inigo Montoya's skulls like eggs due to their stated desire to deliver as much suffering to him as the Red Viper of Dorne, and their clear similarities to said Red Viper. Polneraff even has the backstory of avenging his sister's rape and murder, along with the benefit of the Mountain not being able to see Silver Chariot as he isn't a Stand user. Amazingly the Mountain is able to get Polneraff, Jagi on Raoh to agree on something since Jagi's girlfriend was raped and murdered, and Raoh believes Rape Is a Special Kind of Evil so much that when one of his minions was guilty of rape he personally killed them.
- Despite his impressive martial status Gregor's hatred of an equal opponent means he rarely enters the House of Fighting and Combat, and usually only does either due to an order or being called a coward for doing so. This tactic is used by other knights, since almost every knight from Sir Lancelot to Sir Daniel (another undead knight), sees him as nothing more but a madman unworthy of his royal title, the very opposite of a proper knight's ideals. This is mostly expressed by Sven, a man with no official knighthood, yet still follows a strict code of honor unlike Gregor. This has led to the two clashing blades many times over. In addition, Gregor is absolutely banned from ever going anywhere near the Houses of Love and Affection or Family and Relatives. You all get one guess as to why. There's also the fact he's had three wives that have just..disappeared; best not to think of why. This also goes for the House of Toxicity as he went on a rampage the last time he was there. Apparently it reminded him of the long and agonizing aftermath of his fight against Oberyn.
- He holds a roaring hatred towards Akame for her use of Murasame as it strongly reminds him of the spear Oberyn used against him. The hatred is mutual as Gregor is a despicable war criminal and Serial Rapist who is more akin to a member of Wild Hunt than anything. Naturally Prime Minister Honest was in awe of the Mountain's unfettered strength coupled with lack of moral restraints, and has been pestering Tywin to allow him to join Wild Hunt. Tywin has no interest in this, but that didn't stop the Mountain from joining them for the sake of committing more war crimes with impunity. Syura found this a massive boon since unlike most of their members Gregor is fearless, albeit in a "too angry to be afraid" way than anything admirable.
- If anyone in history compares to the Mountain, it might be Gilles de Rais. They have a solitary life, imposing appearance and (at least accused in Gilles' case) are sadistic murderers. The Servant incarnation of the infamous French knight proves to be one of few people the Mountain can relate to, though at the very least Caster still loves Jeanne while Gregor truly cares for no-one. More comparisons have been made with other sadistic psychos in the Trope Pantheon; the Cyclops Killer has a condition that gives him a rush from murder, and Tiberiu Bulat is a sadistic old man who loves any excuse to get his gun off. Barracuda is another "soldier" with a passion for brutality, and of course there's Ali-Al Saachez who takes whatever job he can to indulge in his sadism. In short Gregor Clegane is in "good" company, which equals really horrible company for anyone with a conscience.
- Realistically insanely large size should render him far more susceptible to crippling injuries, but he shrugs off most physical attacks and might've overcome all the stabbings from Oberyn where he not using a poisoned weapon. The gigantism should result decreased sex drive or outright impotence, but there's rarely a time when he isn't in the mood to rape and kill whatever poor woman who's unfortunate enough to be around him. In short, he's close to a literal monster, a giant who is everything and worse than those the Big Friendly Giant belongs to. Naturally, he is horrified to see a human prove more depraved than even his notorious kin, as they still would never kill a fellow giant. Unfortunately for Gregor, the BFG may be a runt but he's THREE TIMES the height of the Mountain.
- The GUAE do not have the easiest time keeping him in check as he seems to be addicted to causing mayhem. Not because of a lack of capability, but a lack of resources, namely, the amount of prisoners and slaves he kills on a constant basis, ranging from his training routine to simply trying to be rid of boredom. Same thing goes for horses, as he has a tendency to kill his steeds for the slightest failures. Thoughts about giving him a mechanical equine has been proposed, but many fear he would just kill the steed AND the mechanics as well. In spite of all this they consider him worth it (at least in Low Fantasy settings and not overpowered settings like Dragon Ball) as the Mountain invokes fear more so than disgust. Of note, Maple is terrified of him, though he had seen her as just another girl to do as he wanted with. Getting devoured by her shield after she paralyzed him didn't do much to change his mind, nor her Predators getting him off of her, or getting drenched and dissolved in her Hydra poison. It took several more of those attempts, and each of his advances scared Maple despite how easily she's stopped him. Now, he just wants her in retaliation for being so damn untouchable by him.
- The Grand United Alliance of Good has a large bounty for Gregor Clegane to be brought to the House of Law and Justice and serve a proper sentencing, complete with getting him to publicly confess to all the things Tywin ordered that he would prefer to keep to himself. Kenshiro would prefer to just kill him outright where he stands, as he's very reminiscent of the scum he deals with on a daily basis. The Mountain also has a target on his back of two Servants; Boudica and Anastasia. The latter survived having her royal family murdered in a not a sadistic but still similar way to what happened to Elia Martell, while the former swore vengeance against Rome for the rape of her daughters. Red Sonja, having been a victim of rape, also wants his head. This frustrates the Mountain since he's a Serial Rapist not used to women actually posing a threat to him given Westeros' sexist attitudes.
- To cover his bases, Tywin attempted to choose Manfred von Karma as his defense attorney only for him to refuse saying "It's a doomed case; I couldn't defend him with modern legal standards so you're on your own". Other deities pushed for a skilled and corrupt enough lawyer because they see in Gregor Clegane an excellent Psycho for Hire and would pay Tywin handsomely to utilize him...and because of what the Mountain is like, his potential employers are pretty nasty people. Here's a list of who wants his talent and specifically why him.
- Palpatine sometimes wants the Mountain as muscle, but there's a deeper reason; he wants to clone Gregor and modified said clones to create mighty 8 foot Clone Troopers without the migranes that he takes copious milk of the poppy for. He muses that he's a nice Evil Counterpart to Vader; a terrifying physical presence and enforcer, except while Vader was a broken Fallen Hero underneath that armor Gregor was always a monster in every single way. It's probably for the best Gregor Clegane isn't force-sensitive, since he is intrigued in Darth Sion for cheating death through sheer hatred and the dark side...albeit in immense agony. This may mean less for the Robert Strong persona.
- Bluebeard and the Four Libertines have requested that Gregor Clegane make extra money as a bodyguard. The Mountain that Rides finds this rather agreeable as with the former he also has a habit of "disposing" of his wives, and with the latter there there are the obvious depravities he commits. That said, he's not a Depraved Bisexualnote and finds some of their "fetishes" to be "uninteresting".
- A wedge has been driven between Firelord Ozai and Aerys Targaryen's Villainous Friendship when the former gave Ser Gregor his favor and considered his potential. After all, Gregor is guilty of serious crimes against the Targaryens...and that's the only reason why the Mad King has a problem with him. Prime Minister Honest feels Ozai doesn't have a right to claim the Mountain given that he's already gotten along well with Wild Hunt. What does the Mountain think? Simple; he doesn't care who he's working for so long as he "gets his fill".
- His skills as a warrior have gotten a thumbs up from Sundowner and Murata Azrael, who are fighting over who gets to bribe Tywin into letting Ser Gregor do "good work". It speaks more to how horrible they are, particularly Azrael who has the same (lack of) respect for women as the Mountain that Rides.
- Lionel Starkweather didn't want the Mountain for his fighting prowess, but for a purely sick reason; snuff films. He wants to make money off of fights, and..worse. Hearing this, the Punisher had really bad flashbacks about "Eleventhree" and has prepared a rather sadistic punishment for the the Mountain.
- Konrad Von Carstein had a different mindset to the above; he thinks Gregor's brutality is wasted serving the Lannisters and should join him so he can drop whatever shreds of Pragmatic Villainy he has and absolutely indulge in sheer cruelty. It's an incredibly attractive offer to the Mountain, but fortunately he isn't convinced it's worth the risk of alienating evil but not insane generals who would want his strength. Tywin is disturbed at this possibility because Gregor would be vampirized. Keep in mind Warhammer vampires have their defining character traits swelled up to their most extreme limit. The Mountain is already a step below Konrad is sheer Ax-Crazy-ness, so imagine what vampire Gregor would be like.
- It has become a common tactic by some less benevolent gods to use him for Trials By Combat as a resort in order to get rid of troublesome individuals. Safe to say, his succés rate is rather high. However one needs to remember he's not invincible, as many faster gods have managed to best him in single combat. Most of this has to do with the fact that they have been taught to never underestimate him, knowing what happened to the last man who did. Commodus mused that he'd be a great addition to the gladiator pits, but his father thankfully appealed to his ego by saying there's no way a volatile man like Ser Gregor would take a dive when he wants to partake in the games.
- There is so far only one reason why he has not fallen to Chaos: Khorne and Slaanesh are too busy arguing over who he truly is serving with his crimes instead of simply working their magic on him. Both gods finds him and his skills too valuable to fall into the hands of the other. Khorne admires his capacity for slaughter but it is worth noting the Mountain is not a true Blood Knight; he prefers it when his opponent can't fight back. That said he's also not a coward so Khorne doesn't especially hate him; someone who can challenge him only makes him madder and more motivated to kill his opponent. Knowing how much of his rage is born from the constant migranes, Angron thoughts about implanting Gregor with The Butcher's Nails, wondering how much it would increase his killing potential.
- Another reason may be because Molag Bal is in favor of the Mountain and wants to claim him as his own. After all, Tywin's mad dog fits well into his spheres of domination, cruelty and rape. Some would argue that Ser Gregor is more within the domains of Bandos and Ares, vicious war deities that they are. Gregor Clegane is intrigued by both of them as they both represent the more brutal aspects of war that he excels at...though Ares would prefer he not become obsessed as he's a bit muchnote . The Mountain is also interested in the Fraternity because a Villain World where he can act with true impunity is really appealing to him.
- There have been other attempts to empower Gregor Clegane to make him a truly unstoppable force. One of which involved stealing Venom from Bane, something that Bane did not take kindly. He considers the Mountain detestable and the Mountain is frustrated by him for not only being a physical match, but also easily outsmarting him. Another was letting Fenrir Greyback, who already took a liking to him because of their similar personalities, intentionally turning him into a werewolf. The Mountain has expressed interest in having the Hulk's powers (especially the "angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes" aspect). Naturally Bruce and all his alters are disgusted by him.
- Was once a follower of Griffith, though he isn't an ally because of Pragmatic Villainy on the latter's part. First off, there is no way he could upgrade him to an Apostle since you need to sacrifice someone you love, which is an emotion Gregor has never experienced. Secondly, he would prefer Grunbeld's performance to not be affected; he was forced to watch his mother and best friend violated. It's not something the Mountain is happy about because Grunbeld had 10 inches over him and wields a sledgehammer like it's a baseball bat. Fighting the Mountain is one of few times Guts and Casca can set their differences with Grunbeld aside; both of them were victims of rape. Him having been a former follower of Griffith only fueled their hatred of the Mountain. Another member of the Godhand, Slan, has lamented that he never had a humanity to lose as he would've made a fine Apostle.
Slan: "Such beauty... It touches me. Love, hatred, pain, pleasure, life, death. All are there... This is to be human. This is to be evil".
- Wyald sees Gregor as a kindred spirit, due to his violent tendencies in war, and sheer brutal strength. He even wondered if Gregor is an undercover Apostle, and especially likes what Gregor did Elia Martell. Horrifyingly Wyald is one of the closest anyone has come to being called a friend by the Mountain, though there's a relative Red Oni, Blue Oni going on between the two; Wyald is bombastic and childish in his blatant cruelty while Gregor is truly humorless and stoic if his Berserk Button isn't pressed...which is often, to be honest. Due to how Stupid Evil Wyald is, Gregor has proven he's not completely thick-headed and can actually use his brain when fighting. Of course, he's still more The Brute than anything and rarely needs to think too hard.
- Some gods in the House of Prophecy have seen visions of his brother Sandor returning in order to fight him one last time in an event called "Cleganebowl". For whatever reason, whenever this prophecy is told, the area becomes littered with Mountain Dew, Doritos, airhorns, dubstep, weed, and dank memes while black-and-white illusions of Snoop Dogg is seen dancing in the distance. The Deities are getting hyped for the upcoming event. In the TV canon this eventually happened, with Sandor dragging his brother to the Seven Hells in a river of dragonfire.
- He has grown an intense hatred for the House of Time and Temporality due to the many alternate universes and timelines he has been shown through it, almost none of them having desirable results for Gregor. The ones that stick out the most and truly gets on his nerves are the following:
- The ones were Cleganebowl takes place, for daring to imply the battle against Sandor would ever be an even one.
- One where he seems to be good friends with Oberyn Martell.◊
- One where he seems uninterested in rape and murder and instead tries to fight the overusage of plastic bottles.
- One where he only ever gets angry when you insult his own brand of vodka.
- One where Oberyn actually kills him flawlessly.
- One where Wulfric The Wanderer murders him with even more horrific brutality than he did to Oberyn and sacrifices his corpse to the Chaos Gods. This one deeply disturbs him.
- One where Tyrion Lannister of all people manages to best him in single combat! This last one always drives him over the edge. He wasn't happy about timelines Conan and Kratos beat him in the Trial of Combat over Oberyn. His abhorrent personality certainly didn't endear them either.
- Perhaps most intriguingly, a universe where the Marvel and ASOIAF universes were one and he's the Iron Monger. Obadiah? He was Tony's friend there and not the Iron Monger. There he is Tony Stark's Arch-Enemy and would be finished off with a combination of silver and sunstones equaling massive explosion. That timeline really sets him off as it exposes he wouldn't care if he burns his bridges with Tywin and continue on his rampage, murdering anyone sent his way.
- While always a figurative monster, he would become a literal one following his duel with Oberyn. Fatally and excruciatingly poisoned, Qyburn would reanimate him into the zombie-like Robert Strong, turning his strength into that of a true inhuman. Some have compared him to Jason Vorhees, though it is not a comparison the latter's fond of as the sheer depravity of Gregor unsettles him...which is really saying something. Cersei is speculating on what the effects of Robert Strong being in the House of Undead and Phasmata would be and if he can become a true Elite Zombie. 90% of the Trope Pantheon dreads finding out.

- Qyburn used to be a Maester, and was an undoubtedly skilled physician. Unfortunately his genius was paired with a completely amoral nature and a belief that it is not enough to look at the dead to understand life...one must look at the living to understand death too. His unethical experiments cost him his Maester's chain and he would find himself doctor to the Brave Companions. Rather than dying with most of them, he accompanied Jaime to King's Landing and would become Cersei's person Dr Frankenstein. Some of his actions will make you seek out the Stranger, which really contrast with his friendly old man attitude.
- While in opposition to Cersei's enemies, this is primarily a professional thing. Qyburn isn't one to go out and earn personal enmity with Westerosi deities, though it's hard to say such a disgraced medical professional has any friends there either; Jaime had him treat his arm stump to deal with infection, though without any painkiller because he doesn't trust him. He is opposed to the Night's King, having been shown a wight up close, but what Westerosi isn't the White Walker's enemy?note
- Qyburn has been called the Westerosi version of the Medic, which is a comparison he wholeheartedly embraces. The Medic wonders if Qyburn is a long-lost member of his family, which have a long, proud history of being mad doctors. If there's a major difference between the two it's that the Medic is from a rather comedic setting while Qyburn's Mad Doctor status and ability to act on it is played deadly straight. Tellingly, a couple doctor SCPs also got along well. He supplied SCP-542 some pristine organs in an attempt to learn from him his secret, and studied SCP-049's work. 049 hasn't convinced Qyburn that the Pestilence is real but he has made him open to considering it, which is definitely progress for the SCP. The SCP Foundation has been rather vocal in not wanting someone from Low Fantasy learning more outright supernatural abilities.
- The Phantom Thieves of Heart consider Qyburn a sort of Evil Counterpart to one of their confidants, Dr Tae Takemi. She was disgraced and is somewhat of a quack, but it wasn't her fault; an envious doctor slandered her to cover his own medical malpractice. Qyburn pities this fact since he recognizes Tae's skills, but of course they're certain she wouldn't appreciate his praise. Qyburn is well aware the Phantom Thieves would love to enforce societal change by Heel–Face Brainwashing both him and many potential patrons amoral enough to accept his help. Fortunately for him he's a recent addition to a Long List, but it's still an encounter he dreads.
- It goes without saying that Qyburn is a figure of scorn and contempt among the good-aligned physicians. Is he the worst? Oh no, Ciocclata and Fabius Bile can attest to that. But he's definitely not a good guy nor someone who's close to the Hippocratic Oath. This contempt is one-sided, and at worst Qyburn believes they are narrow-minded and limited. He looks favorably on people like Florence Nightingale for their medical talent. In addition, Qyburn isn't trusted by the Hall of Disabilities and Medical Conditions; he would certainly like to help him, and they justifiably fear going under the knife around him. Qyburn's infamy has also prevented him from studying any Typhoid Mary or disease-immune deities, which he still claims he should be allowed to do for the greater good of scientific advancement.
- The Grand United Alliance of Evil considers Qyburn a valuable asset should a) they coax Cersei's ego enough to "loan" Qyburn out and b) introduce him to more modern and more mystical medical technologies. This is because he's amoral and will perform horrible experiments if need be, but also isn't a sadist and will genuinely medically aid evil deities even if they're bad enough no good-aligned medical professional will help them. Fabius Bile has mentioned wanted to take on Qyburn as a student, and the disgraced Maester won't deny he is tempted. That said, he admits some of what he does scares him. Still, if there's anything good about the Chem-master it's that he accepts anyone as his students.
- One of the former GUAE (now GUAC) members, Vandal Savage, has requested his aid. He has had some experience in medical experimentation, like syphilis experiments on French royalty. Qyburn will sometimes be sought out by the Hall of Organized Crime if they need someone on short supply; most notoriously the Slavers have sought him out to deal with STDs from their sex slaves. They'd rather not get backriff from "customers". The Punisher is waiting to gun down Qyburn if he accepts the offer, and due to his crimes against humanity. Qyburn has stated in return they're on the bottom of the list of "night shifts"; right above them is the Umbrella Corporation (who haven't answered his callnote ). The GUAG is working to prevent him from ever getting his hands on the T-Virus as using it to upgrade Robert Strong is a terrifying thought.
- Some have compared him to Rasputin. Endears himself to the Queen after healing a member of the royal family? Becomes her most trusted adviser and her right hand despite his reputation and sketchiness? Has has an interest in the occult? Yeah, that's Rasputin all right. The two have a "strained" relationship; Qyburn isn't fond of Maestars breaking their chastity vow or general perversion and believes Rasputin's whoring is a bad habit for a man of the cloth. However Rasputin is intrigued by his talent, though mainly when he's in supernatural mode. Qyburn hopes that by studying his Don Bluth self he could cheat death and become a lich, allowing him to continue his work in perpetuity.
- It is worth noting that while you could argue he's sociopathic, calling Qyburn sadistic is probably unfair. Like Cioccolata he's a disgraced medical professional but while Qyburn has the reasoning of For Science!, Cioccolata just used his doctorate to torture for fun. Qyburn believes he would fit right in with his former allies the Brave Companions, but regards him as unnecessarily sadistic. The two do agree humanity grows stronger through curiosity, however Qyburn is not convinced it amplifies as they die. Giorno for one was disturbed by the similarities between the two and Qyburn's desire to understand both his Stand, along with Josuke's due to its healing potential has fully earned them their animosity.
- If Qyburn has a hardline moral standard, it is an opposition to those who live to spread diseases. He believes one must understand disease to treat disease, and goes to dark places to understand it, but he never forgets the "treat" part. As much as supernatural plague inducers like Nurgle and the Red Death intrigue him from a scientific standpoint, he opposes the idea of spreading diseases for its own sake. This is one of his reasons for not considering Anton Arcane a friend; oh yes, Qyburn respects him in terms of a skillset but Rotworld? No, just no.
- Another redeeming trait is that Qyburn does live up to his air of a kind grandfather as he is compassionate to his "little birds" and gives them sweets as rewards. He still uses them as spies and assassins though, so it's not wholly innocent. It's for this reason he is on his best behavior around SCP-040, believing her abilities are remarkable. That said, there's still an element of pragmatism at play since the best way to have "Evolution's Child" compliant is kindness. The SCP Foundation has warned him to knock it off, as he's already on their naughty list for his session with SCP-049 and SCP-542.
- This soft spot is one of the reasons he is annoyed, though not outright disgusted, with Springtrap...or rather the original William Afton. Afton was a Mad Scientist while still human who had researched remnant, some sort of substance of the soul, but in spite of this and making advanced animatronics he preferred using his talent to help murder children. Qyburn sees him as nothing short of a disappointment. This moral outrage led people blindsided by his decision to work with the Gold Toothed Doctor despite being as immoral as William. Qyburn doesn't see any contradiction; the nature of the Philosopher's Stone is "morbidly intriguing" and he was interested in the process the doctor used to make Wrath. Cersei has asked him for his help because she wants a possible replacement for Robert Strong/the zombie Mountain after he ignored orders to go after his brother.
- Qyburn has been trying to vouch for an honorary role in the Hall of Necromancy and Reanimation for his work with Gregor Clegane. He aspires to be a true Necromancer and when he first saw a wight, he was intrigued. The GUAG is looking to thwart his efforts of learning and understanding more of the House of Undead and Phasmata as they fear Cersei will try to commission Qyburn make a zombie army. Qyburn isn't stupid though, and he intentionally avoids the Hall of Zombies as being "beyond reason...though I mean no offense to Sylvanus or Rottytops. Nor Dr Zomboss; we may not agree on a goal but I do quite admire his skill as a doctor".
- Out of the undead he finds vampirism "the most promising". Dracula has mused that he'd far more fit in with Dr Frankenstein, only for Qyburn to say "oh I'm aware; though he'll occasionally question my methods I do enjoy studying the nature of life and death with him. I definitely recognize some similarities between his monster and my own". Qyburn seeks to understand the different causes of vampirism because he sees the applicability of using it to save those who'd otherwise die, or create a stronger warrior for the crown. However, Qyburn isn't interested in becoming a vampire himself (at least right now). Alucard doesn't think much about his experiments since he believes that one's humanity and mortality is what makes them special. To this the Mad Doctor simply mused "well, we're all entitled to our own opinions, though I have no intention of turning the best knights into the savage kind of blood-drinker...Robert Strong doesn't count by the way since he was like that while human.
- Qyburn has a troubled relationship with Gregor Clegane. He was his patient, having saved his life...but through a grotesque reanimation process that was painful and physically corrupting. Of course, the poison Oberyn delivered played a part. The Mountain did kill him in the TV canon for getting in the way of Cleganebowl, though Gregor admits to wanting that invincible undead state, but under his own free will...which would be a good opportunity to get rid of him. For now they will tolerate each other only because a) Cersei actually thought of something clever in saying they need to be a unified team against their enemies and b) Qyburn has promised to aid the Mountain in winning Round 2 of Cleganebowl in exchange for reaffirming his loyalty to the Lannisters.

Otherwise, for both.
@nightelf: for the Tooth and Tail factions getting Sapient Eat Sapient but not War Has Never Been So Much Fun. I think the main Wargroove factions would fit it better for being a Spiritual Successor to Advance Wars and still keeping an overall lighthearted tone to its setting AND more importantly, having a colorful and vibrant aesthetic.
I concur

Beep-beepOkay. I guess the Wargroove Commanders could fit War Has Never Been So Much Fun. But that means we should add Wargroove 2 to the Hype Prevention Sandbox.

- THE END is a mysterious creature that menaced existence eons ago, since time immemorial. Destroying Countless Stars, Worlds and Lives, it eventually attacked and destroyed the home planet of The Ancients. However, The Ancients managed to escape to the Starfall Islands of Earth with the Chaos Emeralds. Eventually, THE END would find them and attack Earth, and while it pretty much wiped out the Ancients, they managed to seal it in Cyberspace, allowing the Chaos Emeralds, The Master Emerald that they had discovered, and the rest of the world to have a future. That is until Dr. Eggman awakening the technology of the Ancients set it at risk of escaping. His Hyper-Competent Sidekick and Artificial Family Member Sage, took it upon herself to keep him safe in an isolated area of Cyberspace and find a way to get rid of THE END so that he wouldn’t be endangered by it. She also trapped Amy, Tails and Knuckles in Cyberspace just like she did Eggman to protect them from THE END as well. Ending up at odds with Sonic, THE END would manage to break free anyway, forcing her, Eggman and Sonic to form an Enemy Mine to take the entity down.
- THE END arrived to the Pantheon on a late night, once again trapped in a digital realm. THE END spent a good chunk of the next few weeks studying the digital world, including that of what those inside of it are capable of, had a scuffle with the recently ascended Sage…and then eventually decided to strike. Calling up to the surface and speaking to a random deity, they were eventually tracked down and stopped: From manipulating Naruto and Sasuke to the Sonic the Comic incarnation of Ivo Robotnik, its gambit kept failing due to Sage’s warnings after their confrontation in the Digital World…until Kaos took an interest in this new “mysterious voice.” He learned more about it from others, and decided he’d try to work a mutual partnership with the entity despite this having ended badly for him before. With an army, he arrived in the Hall of Other Dimensions and during a scuffle for a Dimensional Traveling device that he wanted, it got damaged…and then the sound of a disembodied voice groaning rang throughout the entire House of Space and Cosmos as THE END appeared in space, also declaring Kaos an amusing Unwitting Pawn and stated that it has no use for him anymore. Kaos was furious, but decided to retreat and plan his next steps to get back at THE END, angry about the fact that he was manipulated again.
THE END: ”What was it that I stated before? That’s right. The end comes for you all!”
Mortal, you have served your purpose. Now, face your End. I am the all-consuming void. What can one mote of golden light illuminate within the abyss? Countless stars. Countless worlds. Countless lives. All fell to me, all brought to nothing. All the teeming chaos of creation? Brought to order. To neutrality. To nothing. I saw your mind as you ran through my prison. You have fought machines and gods. They were mighty. They were finite. I am infinite. I am nothing. You struggle as so many have done before. You will be consumed like all those before you. I saw your mind. Your courage never wavered. Why? Arrogance? Ignorance? Stupidity? I was contained once. ONCE. Is that why? My captors bent time and space. My captors built a whole reality to contain me. My captors burnt their souls away to fuel their engines. And you?
I’m plotting my schemes wherever I go! They’re perfect in every way…The Iris, Mogo and Planet Remina are living planets. Given that THE END is a Planet Eater, they obviously wouldn't like being destroyed by the entity.
THE GOLDEN AGE WILL RETURN AGAIN!The doctor will see you. If you don't like it you can take it up with his top patient
Acts of War has reached the too long stage. I hear talk that there is plans of making a new Military and Warfare Hall. I am considering another one to help allieviate it. Either "War Archetypes" (for types of war and conflict) or "War Crimes" (for guess what). If you like the idea I am going to check the House to see which would be the most effective
As it is, I noticed there is a lot of gods who represent motivations for warfare within the page itself, rather than gods who represent acts committed during war. As such, why not give a page for Moviations For War separate from Acts of War? Here's how I'd divide them up:
Motivations for War- Jubileus and Queen Sheba, Shou Zama, SKYNET, The Corpus, Count Dooku, Julius Caesar, Rau Le Creuset, Apollyon (?), Boudicca, Lelouch vi Britannia, the Yooks and Zooks, Wiz and Boomstick
Acts of War- Gregor Clegane, Dog Days triad, Serious Sam (maybe? Doesn't 100% fit the hall, imo.), Apollyon (?), Rogue One, the Zabi Family, Jack Barnes, Schutzvollstrecker
Edited by Shinobi on Apr 13th 2023 at 9:35:26 AM
I have a more broad concept
- Hall of War Archetypes: For types of and mindsets involving war. Jubileus and Sheba (Overdeity), Shou Zama, SKYNET (Greater), Corpus, Millhiore Filliano Biscotti, Leonmitchelli Galette des Rois and Couvert Eschenbach Pastillage, Sundowner (Intermediate), Apollyon, Marine Squad (World at War) (Lesser), Colonel McCullough, Yooks and Zooks (Demigods)
If you agree, what do you think I need to add/remove and should it have a different name?
for Motivations for War.

In preparation for reading through Fallout: Equestria for Littlpip's profile, I decided to go through SSLPs of the Fallout franchise over on LP Archive/the Something Awful forums. I've finished 1 and New Vegas, and now that I'm looking through 2, I realize I have a nomination.
I got War Has Never Been So Much Fun on reserve a few years ago for the Tooth and Tail factions. But just in case, I'll propose them again.
- Arroyo Bellafide, Hopper, The Quartermaster, and Archimedes, Divine Quartet of Fun War Games AND/OR Sapients Eating Other Sapients
- Reasoning: It's a war game, and while horrific (as wars should be), it's pretty fun, the premise is a little ridiculous, and most other examples I could find don't have good enough representative characters, at least how I see it (now that Nintendo Wars has Color-Coded Armies). The game they come from intentionally juxtaposes colorful Funny Animals and goofy weaponry (since each side intends to eat their foes, we get such things as literal "mustard gas") against a drab backdrop and a realistically horrible Russian Civil War stand-in for the sake of Black Comedy.
- Reasoning 2: It's the crux of their game. There are no non-sentient sources of meat, and everyone wants it, and as stated above, they're willing to fight each other over it.
