Rather, you need to do the edit to a sandbox page that follows the format Sandbox.Magnificent Bastard<Name of the example subpage> and Sandbox.Monster<Name of the example subpage> (e.g for Monster.Disney it's Sandbox.Monster Disney) and ask for it to be swapped in on Saturday for Magnificent Bastard and on Monday for Complete Monster.
- Inappropriate pages that keep being recreated, pages banned under The Content Policy and subpages that are disallowed (like Headscratchers pages for tropes) are valid reasons for requesting page locks.

It's like a Sinkhole (as how Pothole defines it) except it's a bit more relevant...

Potholes are done all the time on CM and MB entries, frequently with the name tagged as something that embodies the character. This is not a singular example by any means and frankly I'm not quite sure why I keep getting called for random things all the time on this thread (someone picking one example of a pothole they don't like; demanding an explanation as to why I'm cutting a RWBY example as though the thread's decision isn't a good enough reason).

Yeah, I don't see why that pothole needs to be fought over. 'Big Bad' is a self descriptive pothole in that context. It tells you, automatically, that this villain is the chief one of the show and the rest of the entry explains it.

In general I dislike the idea of people suddenly choosing to critique a system while never having contributed to the writeup process in the thread itself and apropos of nothing deciding "No, I don't like this one, let's pause everything and question it like it's been the standard we've followed the whole time." It's pushing personal views on a thread people don't actually take an interest in and that goes double for demanding I state my reasoning for removals... if Nombre takes issues with my requests, she lets me know.

Apologies, allow me to bring you some more formatting stuff then, for Live-Action TV:
- Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: "Authority": Merritt Rook is a former audio engineer whose wife died in childbirth thanks to an error from the doctor. Rook, gaining a hatred of authority figures, manipulated and harassed the doctor into suicide before making calls posing as an authority figure to make others commit crimes for no reason but a voice on the phone told them to. Representing himself at trial to get his views out, Rook manages to get acquitted and keeps his movement going before Detective Benson goes to arrest him. Turning the tables, Rook sets a trap for Stabler where he forces him to torture Benson at risk of a bomb exploding only to reveal Benson was never in danger and her screams her prerecorded. Rook proceeds to flee, with the assumption being he drowns in the river, but the strong possibility remaining he manages to escape justice entirely after proving the points he wishes.
- This goes at the bottom of the Midsomer Murder tree:
- The murderer from season 11's "Shot At Dawn", Lionel Hicks, a sociable, friendly Midsomer Parva resident upon discovering the dark truth about the Hicks-Hammond rivalry origin vows to kill the Hammonds both for revenge and to enrich the Hick family. A skilled electrician and technician they develop a variety of remote control devices to fulfil their vendetta. Overhearing Mickey Ryan's plan to humiliate Colonel Henry Hammond, they seize the opportunity and kills Henry with his father's revolver. Altering his wheelchair, they remotely drive it into a milk delivery to confuse the crime scene. Targeting themselves with a remote control bomb to throw off suspicion, the murderer lures out and kills Johnny Hammond with a modified machine gun rigged to activate when he opened his garage, and in their "stroke of genius" sprung a trap that almost killed Arabella Hammond with a hay bailer they had modified to operate by radio control, leaving the controls behind in Kate Hammond's horsebox to implicate her. When caught, Lionel took defeat in stride, content with what they had accomplished.

Taking the opportunity to free his criminal father from prison, Rick kidnaps Alex and places her in a glass cage, located in a building laced with lead to deter Kara, while slowly filling it with water. Giving Kara and her friends 36 hours to either free his father or watch Alex drown. After being apprehended, Rick remains calm and sees through J'onn's attempt to shape-shift into his father, failing to trick Rick. Even when his plan is foiled when his father reveals the location of his trap, Rick graciously congratulates Alex for surviving his trap and accepts his imprisonment without malice.
- Supergirl (2015)'s first entry to:
- Tales from the Darkside: "The Grave Robber": Tapok is the Lord Chamberlain of the Pharaoh. Awakening from his slumber when archaeologist Doctor Harold Gormley and his girlfriend Aileen enter his tomb, he kills their guide Ahmed before revealing himself to be more Affably Evil enough to engage the two in a series of games. Despite being dismissed as a brainless monster, Tapok proves himself to be smarter than he looked by reading the cards during a round and successfully switches places with Harold as well as taking Aileen, nothing that she reminded him of his lost love.
- The Twilight Zone (2019): "A Traveler": A. Traveler is a mysterious, charming man who shows up in a small Alaskan town as a charismatic 'extreme traveler.' Manipulating the townspeople into conflict to deflect suspicion from himself, he plants misinformation about himself and his goals while laying the groundwork for an alien colonization of earth. After having Sheriff Pendleton sent out to check the power grid, he manipulates Sergeant Yuka with a promise of Pendleton's job to send her after him, ending the episode victorious and sharing a slice of pumpkin pie with a cellmate as his forces come to take over earth.

I think that, in order to make the entry look cleaner and not like an All-Blue Entry, and also use Historical Present Tense, the entry should be rewritten like this:
Per the Sinkhole page, Vic Mignogna's page has a Chained Sinkhole in his Relationship Voice Actor entry, and it's also written in past tense. Currently, it looks like this:
- Relationship Voice Actor: In the Japanese side of things, he shared four roles with Mamoru Miyano.
I think that, in order to make the entry look cleaner and not like an All-Blue Entry, and also use Historical Present Tense, the entry should be rewritten like this:

I'll just pitch in with the Big Bad sinkhole issue to point out that Big Bad is a ZCE magnet and a lot of examples just assume it's the show's "worst bad guy" not the bad guy who drives the story's conflict. My only concern is that the pothole would thus be considered a ZCE due to not explaining exactly what definition of Big Bad the example is actually using here. It's not the end of the world but in TRS cleanup and stuff you find a ton of potholes that need to be cut eventually due to not giving any sort of meaning or context to know if they're actually being used correctly.
The one pothole here isn't an issue, it's just the pattern of these potholes as a whole that are problematic and it'd be ideal to start changing that habit across the whole wiki if we can, but one Big Bad pothole isn't anything to stress over.

As Cronus does "drive the plot" and thus meets the correct definition, I don't see how this perpetuates misuse. It sums up his character well and the rest of the entry makes it clear enough I don't think there's an issue correlating to your concerns.

- The original Cobra Commander himself is, underneath any silliness or ridiculous behavior, a truly vile, heinous monster who has earned his title of the Arch-Enemy of the G.I. Joes. A former car salesman who got his start with well-intentioned goals following the death of his brother, the Commander quickly moved beyond this altruistic outlook, growing in ambition and love for power as he killed thousands of people in his various maniacal plots. Returning from the grave after a seeming change of heart, the Commander brags that he has thrown away all of his humanity and redeeming qualities, illustrating this by burying his own son alive along with many of his former allies. Orchestrating a variety of atrocities that ranged from nuking cities to dropping acid rain onto others, the Commander throws away the lives of hundreds of loyal recruits to illustrate his cruelty, and his villainy culminates in the final arc of the Devil's Due series, in which the Commander murders his son, Billy, simply to prove that he can, and tries to wipe out all life on Earth so he can feel like a god. Cobra Commander goes through a variety of character twists and turns, but always is brought back to his roots: a psychopath who willingly, happily has chosen to destroy his humanity and embrace pure evil for the power and glory it brings him.
- "Dr. Venom", real name Claude Vinim note , is the original Mad Scientist for Cobra, who came into the organization after burning a college dean alive for attempting to expose Venom's murder of his own father. Developing the Brainwave Scanner for Cobra, Venom deliberately designs the machine to cause the maximum amount of pain to its victims, using it to Mind Rape anyone unfortunate enough to cross Cobra. After making an Arch-Enemy out of Snake Eyes by using the Brainwave Scanner on him, Venom brutally beats the defenseless G.I. Joe, betrays and tries to kill him when they are forced to team up, and shoots one of Snake Eyes's partners, Kwinn, In the Back when the man showed Venom mercy. Though seemingly killed after a failed attempt to poison the United States's money supply and kill millions, Venom returns, having copied his brain into a computer program, and begins bodyjacking several people, using them in his mad experiments on innocents to kill or subjugate every member of G.I. Joe and Cobra alike. Though lacking in appearances of other leadership of Cobra, Venom's despicable crimes and scoffing of love and caring relationships marks him as one of the worst criminals to ever grace Cobra's ranks.
- Vance Wingfield, debuting in "Operation: Wingfield", is a military tactician obsessed with the idea of survival of the fittest, and, believing that a large portion of humanity has become weak, sets out to cull mankind. Wingfield plans to frame America for dropping a nuclear bomb onto a highly populated Russian city, then ride out the ensuing World War III before rising up and ruling over whatever of humanity is left. To aid in his endeavors, Wingfield subjects numerous men to Training from Hell, while attempting to turn their children into Child Soldiers, and eventually tries to blow up himself, his followers, and their entire families with another nuke to ensure a nuclear holocaust starts even if he is dead. Surviving this event, though crippled, Wingfield goes on to create a virus that can pull satellites down from orbit, and proceeds to drop satellites onto both Chicago and Silicon Valley, killing thousands of men, women, and children, planning to do the same to Washington, D.C. and New York City as well. Even after death, Wingfield's crimes continue, as his son Tyler, whom Wingfield horribly abused and corrupted into becoming like him, tries to continue his father's legacy, threatening millions of lives, all the while unaware that his father was planning to kill him as a child because he was showing weakness. Vance Wingfield stood out even among the terrorist organization Cobra as one of the few wholly irredeemable villains the G.I. Joes faced in their original comic run.
- Extreme comic miniseries:
- Iron Klaw is the main villain the military team the G.I. Joes confront in this comic miniseries, and handily the worst. The leader of the terrorist group Soldiers of Kaos, Anarchy, and Ruin, or S.K.A.R., surpassed in rank only by the Duchess, Iron Klaw murdered his way to the top position of the group, and is a horrific boss, murdering his henchmen for everything from accidentally touching him, to simply assert his ego. After murdering the Duchess when she slowly shows disgust for his homicidal plans for world domination, Iron Klaw murders a man, taking out many of his soldiers in the same instance, to steal his political position, and proceeds to steal the powerful crop hormone known as Ferti-gel, poisons it, then plans to spread it across numerous countries to plunge them into famine and drought in order to blackmail the world with his massive supply of food. Even when forced into an Enemy Mine situation with the Joes against Red Scream, Iron Klaw takes every opportunity to betray and try to murder his "allies". Iron Klaw was a complete sociopath who was only concerned with his own personal power.
- Inferno is a psychopathic Mad Bomber who, though only a minor servant of Iron Klaw in the present, is revealed to be a truly wicked individual in his backstory, shown in the short arc From the Ashes. Using his pyrotechnic skills, Inferno bombed more than half a dozen military bases, killing dozens of innocent American soldiers, and follows it up by blowing up an American intelligence agency, killing more than thirty people. After bombing the recently-created G.I. Joe base, wiping out most of the starting Joes, Inferno goes on to try and kill the President of the United States with an explosive during a mass funeral for his own victims, fully aware of the dozens of military families present as well.
- Crossovers with Transformers:
- Transformers/G.I. Joe, written by John Ney Rieber: Cobra Commander continues to prove himself capable of being an irredeemable psychopath when it comes to adaptations of his original iteration. With Cobra serving as a stand-in for the Nazi Party, Commander runs his empire with the same cruel egomania that the Nazis were known for. After discovering the Decepticons hidden in an ancient monastery whose inhabitants he has just had slaughtered, Commander forcefully takes control of the Decepticons and forces them to lay waste to numerous countries across Europe, including Berlin and Rome. Any survivors of these massacres, including the children, are forced into slave camps, and, later, used as human shields against the Commander's enemies. After forcing a Decepticon to exhaust all his energy in wantonly laying waste to enemies and allies alike, the Commander reveals his plan to use the Decepticons to institute a new world order under his rule where only the strong will survive and serve under his thumb. Cobra Commander is a megalomaniac whose status as a stand-in for the Nazi leadership makes him one of the most realistic, and wicked, baddies throughout the G.I. Joe franchise.
- G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers (Devil's Due Publishing series):
- G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II, written by Dan Jolley: Shockwave is a coldly ruthless Decepticon who assumed control of Cybertron after the disappearances of Optimus Prime and Megatron, and now rules it with an iron fist, crushing any rebellion against him. Scheming to invade Earth, Shockwave successfully turns the planet into a warzone, killing billions of humans and keeping countless more as slave labor who he routinely executes by the dozen when they fall behind in their workloads. When the past is altered and Earth is saved from this invasion, Shockwave instead attempts to bring about a time fracture upon Earth, bathing the planet in nuclear fire for decades and wiping out all life on the planet so he can then gut the planet of its resources, and planning to keep human survivors as experiments for him to vivisect.
- Black Horizon, written by Tim Seeley: Unicron is the Chaos Bringer, a planet-sized Transformer that devours entire planets and keeps thousands of survivors as tortured, mind-altered slaves inside his body until they die and he replaces them with new victims. Having devoured countless planets over millennia, Unicron struck a deal with Cobra-La on Earth that he would spare the planet for a few centuries until there were billions of humans populating it, at which point Unicron would return and consume them all, leaving the barren husk for Cobra-La to rule. When the G.I. Joes and Transformers try to stop Unicron as he causes natural disasters worldwide and kills countless people, Unicron sics his "antibodies" on them, gleefully boasting his plans to slowly eat them all alive in the same fell swoop that he consumes Earth.
- Golobulus, also from Black Horizon, is Unicron's agent on Earth, ruling over Cobra-La and using his forces to scheme for Unicron's return. Capturing and twisting several Transformers into his monstrous slaves, Golobulus uses them to slaughter anyone who tries to uncover his plans, and even takes humans captive to be kept as tortured pets. Threatening and abusing his own people should they fail him, Golobulus, believing humanity to be a blight upon the Earth, summons Unicron to Earth to wipe out the entire race so that himself and Cobra-La can reign over the planet, and tries to brutally kill the G.I. Joe soldier Firewall as a "sacrifice" to Unicron in celebration of the genocide of humanity.
- G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II

- Reloaded:
- Cobra Commander is, much like many of his other incarnations, a pure evil lunatic in this mini-series created to make a more realistic take on the franchise. As the leader of the terrorist group Cobra, the Commander is a power-hungry madman obsessed with bringing America to its knees, and kicks the story off by blowing up the Golden Gate Bridge and the many innocents on it. Going on to try and steal the United States Constitution, the Commander's ultimate plan is to drop the Omega Black virus onto a highly-populated city, which will painfully rot the bodies of the millions infected by it before melting their brains, at which point he will blackmail other cities to cow to his whims. When the Joes show up to stop him, the Commander attempts to simply launch as many nukes as possible as he makes his retreat. Despite his seemingly-benevolent attitude toward his minions, this is completely thrown out the window when he is revealed to ruthlessly execute anyone who fails him, even animals, and goes a murder spree of his own soldiers for the pettiest of reasons. Though slightly implied to have a tragic backstory and many claims of well-intentioned goals, Cobra Commander is ultimately shown to be a remorseless and deranged tyrant with nothing but greed and evil itself driving him.
- Firefly is a mercenary-turned-Cobra agent who takes joy in classical music and blowing things up. After bombing the Golden Gate bridge in Cobra's name, killing dozens, Firefly derails a train and executes the surviving passengers with a gun to steal supplies which he uses to take over an oil rig whose staff he massacres. Firefly murders anyone who tries to approach the rig, and later mocks a Joe over the fact that Firefly killed the man's girlfriend in a previous job.
- G.I. Joe (IDW):
- Krake is a brutal, vicious Cobra leader who carves a path of destruction straight into the position of Commander. Born in a war-torn country, Krake raised himself to be a cold-blooded mercenary, able and willing to kill anyone in his way in his path to power and survival. Upon joining Cobra, Krake carries out a bevy of missions chosen for him, notably leading an attempted massacre of a village detrimental to Cobra's operations, until he is chosen as a candidate for Cobra Commander, at which point he assassinates a fellow candidate and orchestrates the deaths of hundreds of G.I. Joes to secure his election. As Cobra Commander, Krake quickly orders the murders of the entire Cobra Council to secure his permanent reign; invades and nukes the country of Nanzhao, killing hundreds; and executes dozens of Cobra prisoners and any Cobra troops who have no usefulness to the organization any longer. Under Krake's more aggressive Cobra, terrorist attacks endangering civilians are faked to kill enemies of Cobra; an entire city is nearly destroyed to frame the G.I. Joes; and young children are taken captive to force their parents to do work for the organization, all of this working together to cement Krake's Cobra as the most evil the organization has ever been.
- Xamot Paoli is the more sadistically inclined, ambitious twin brother of the pragmatic Tomax. Committing a variety of war crimes and atrocities throughout his life alongside his brother, from slavery to exterminating hundreds of innocent people, Xamot makes a personal enemy with the G.I. Joe Chuckles when he tricks Chuckles into killing his own Love Interest for an ultimately pointless reason. After being scarred across his face by Chuckles for this, Xamot grows more unhinged and deranged, culminating in his concoction of a scheme to murder the Cobra High Command—starting with his own brother—which Xamot personally kicks off by massacring an entire room of defenseless Cobra agents. Though sharing many of his crimes with his brother, Xamot is the more proactive and crueler of the duo, and uses his relatively few appearances to make his own mark.
- Rodrigo Vargas is one of the candidates to become the next Cobra Commander, and a Mad Scientist to boot. A sadistically curious lunatic who is introduced covered in blood from an experiment, Vargas begins his campaign to become the new Commander by seemingly donating countless medicine to the city of Kariba, Zimbabwe, as an act of charity; in reality, Vargas has poisoned the medicine, infecting hundreds of thousands with a monstrous plague that drives them into bloodthirsty insanity. As Kariba turns into a war zone of infected citizens tearing the military and each other apart while the government firebombs it, Vargas, suspecting his girlfriend of being a counterintelligence agent, infects her with a brain-eating parasite that destroys her free will centers, before offering her the choice of killing herself, or letting the parasite continue its course and give her an agonizing death. Even when infected with his own virus, Vargas just laughs that there is no cure, bragging that he was planning on letting the virus spiral out of Kariba and kill millions as nothing but a "test" for it, after which he could target anywhere he wanted with a horrible, plague-induced death.
- Firefly is a Cobra operative skilled in pyrotechnics and sabotage who absolutely loves his job. Introduced blowing up a building filled with dozens of people as one of his jobs for Cobra, which is something he routinely does, Firefly later attempts to blow up an entire casino filled with hundreds on Tomax Paoli's orders, showing visible annoyance when many of the patrons flee and lower the body count. Not restricted to just destruction of buildings, Firefly flings a live grenade into a crowd of innocents to kill them all as a distraction for his escape, and assists in Cobra's takeover of an entire town by walking into a police station and burning the entire staff alive with a flamethrower.
- Blacklight is a Cobra sniper with a cold love of killing. Carrying out a bevy of assassinations on Cobra's orders, Blacklight, when sent to capture a scientist for his superiors, tricks a group of college students into being his bullet shields and kills a security guard to accomplish his goal. Later killing a large group of G.I. Joes but failing at his larger mission, Blacklight is left out in the cold by the Baroness for this failure, and instantly begins planning his return to Cobra. Blacklight travels across the world, completing his trip by threatening and murdering several people for their transportation, and tries to assassinate a traitorous Cobra agent before slaughtering a security patrol and destroying an entire building full of people. Blacklight's final appearances sees him plunge two G.I. Joes and their charge into complete darkness, Blacklight happily planning to kill them off one by one in darkness while he just smiles about it.
- Skull Buster is the recruit trainer for Cobra, and a sadistic brute to boot. To train potential recruits, Skull Buster takes them on long treks through isolated locations such as deserts or jungles, forcing them to start out naked and starved. When any of the recruits show weakness, such as decreasing mental health or revulsion at eating raw meat, Skull Buster wastes no time in ruthlessly killing them. Along their travels, Skull Buster has his troops murder any and all people they come across, be they Taliban soldiers or innocent villagers—including children—in order to steal their supplies. Doing this routine weekly on separate groups each time, Skull Buster enjoys his job way too much, and takes sadistic pleasure in any of his trainees' deaths, be they by his hand, their own weakness, or suicide. Though having limited appearances, Skull Buster made his mark as the most wicked low-level villain in the story.
- Chimera is a former Green Beret who got rich from manipulating stocks, but when his crimes were discovered and his money taken from him, he murdered his entire family before going on the run. Undergoing facial reconstruction surgery, Chimera bombs the clinic where he had his operation to kill anyone who saw his face, and later murders numerous police officers who try to arrest him. Taking over a gang of thugs after executing their current leader, Chimera kidnaps a governor's daughter, claiming his plans to use her for ransom to his gang, before sadistically murdering her in front of her father to show his true goal isn't money, but destruction. Chimera reveals he has set two timers, one of which will release a toxin that will kill millions of people worldwide, the other which will leak stock market strategies and money laundering secrets to corrupt individuals, and will lead to economic failure within a few years. Though killed while trying to murder numerous Joes, Chimera's money laundering secrets are still leaked online. Demented and sadistic, Chimera may have been one of the earlier major villains the Joes faced, but he was easily one of the worst.
- Future Noir: In this non-canon, alternate universe, the sociopathic Dr. Mindbender is portrayed as far worse than his mainstream counterpart. Mindbender performs horrifying experiments on numerous innocents, including children, who are drawn into the cult of Cobra. These experiments leave them as hideous monsters in constant agony that he uses to kill anyone who defies Cobra. With raving fanaticism for his leader, Serpentor, Mindbender plans to spread a toxin countrywide that will turn all it infects into monstrous and mangled beasts in order to leave only the "pureness" of the Cobra cult to exist in the world. Commiting his crimes For Science! and misanthropy, Mindbender stood out as a wicked monster who more than made up for the relatively low quantity his crimes with the sheer monstrosity of said crimes.
- Danger Girl/G.I. Joe, written by Andy Hartnell: Cobra Commander is as ruthless and unhinged as often portrayed, establishing himself to his command staff by slashing a Cobra soldier to death for another's offhand insult. Planning to use unearthed nuclear missiles to wipe out millions of people across the globe and threaten countless more until they cow to Cobra, the Commander sends his soldiers to implant homing beacons for the missiles at their targets, taunting his troops all the while that he has no plans to hesitating to fire the missiles when the beacons are ready, uncaring if they are caught up in the blast.
- Street Fighter x G.I. Joe, written by Aubrey Sitterson: M. Bison is the domineering dictator of Mriganka and the founder of the Shadaloo crime syndicate, using his resources to host a massive fighting tournament so as to power his Psycho Drive with the dueling energies. Teaming up with Destro as his partner, M. Bison also mocks Cammy over her time as one of Bison's enslaved, brainwashed soldiers, and brutally beats her to near death for fun. Bison's ultimate plan is to use his Psycho Drive to orchestrate the destruction of several major cities around the world, killing millions of people until the world cows to him, and reveals he will kill Destro as well when he outlives his usefulness.
- G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero vs. The Six Million Dollar Man, written by Ryan Ferrier: Cobra Commander himself plots to Take Over the World. He starts by having Baroness and Doctor Mindbender brainwash Steve Austin, The Six Million Dollar Man, into joining them, while Commander and Cobra forces take over the massive Infinity Centre skyscraper in Switzerland, taking over the top floor and threatening the lives of the inhabitants. Promising a "bloodbath" if anybody challenges his rule, Commander has Baroness and her henchmen attempt to bring down Air Force One and kill everyone on board, ultimately aiming to prevent the signing of a global peace accord on the Frisian Islands. When this fails, Commander's contingency plan is to have Baroness activate Austin's arm—basically turning it into a nuclear weapon—and attempt to blow up the island, killing thousands of people.

- The Movie: Golobulus, the ruler of the ancient serpent civilization Cobra-La and the Greater-Scope Villain for both Cobra Commander and Serpentor, is the most evil villain in the original G.I. Joe animated series. Once the ruler of Earth, Golobulus and his subjects were forced underground 40,000 years ago due to the Ice Age, and when, centuries later, Golobulus planned to resurface and rule once more, he was outraged when he saw that humanity had become the dominant species. Refusing to share the Earth with anything even close in intelligence to himself, Golobulus installed one of his servants into a terrorist organization as its leader, this servant rechristening himself Cobra Commander and making countless attempts to wipe out or dominate human civilization in the name of Golobulus. Growing annoyed with Commander when he constantly fails, Golobulus painfully transforms him into an actual cobra, then reveals that he plans to drop spores onto the Earth to agonizingly turn all of mankind into monstrous beasts with animal intelligence so as to pave the way for Golobulus to rule once more. When the G.I. Joes show up to stop him, Golobulus puts his sadistic personality on full display as he proclaims his plans to bathe his hands in their blood and make sure the last noise they hear is the sound of their own vertebrae snapping one by one. Despite appearing in a series known for its rather cheesy, ineffectual villains, Golobulus was a surprisingly dark and cruel villain, with his genocidal plans surpassing anything attempted thus far in the series.
- Sgt. Savage and his Screaming Eagles: Lieutenant Garrison "General Blitz" Krieger, aka Dr. Garret Stromm, quickly establishes himself as one of the most evil characters in the franchise. A member of the IRON (International Robotic Operations Network) Army in World War II, Krieger infiltrated the U.S. Army and served in Sgt. Savage's unit, all of whom he led into a trap, with only Savage surviving the ensuing slaughter. Krieger then subjects Savage to horrific experiments in his attempts to create a super-soldier to help The IRON Army win the war. Having Savage cryogenically frozen after The IRON Army's defeat, Krieger turns himself into a cyborg and spends the next 50 years re-establishing The IRON Army in secret, helping to create the terrorist group Cobra in the process. When Savage's frozen body is located by the G.I. Joes, Krieger dispatches an executioner robot to kill Savage and any Joes that get in its way. Krieger then initiates his master plan: Using a satellite weapon to take control of Earth's computer systems, then leading The IRON Army in the conquest of the world. Savage, though brutally beaten and taunted by Krieger, manages to stop his plan, but not before Krieger makes his escape. A vicious would-be dictator, Krieger was willing to betray, torture, and murder anyone who got in his way to ensure The IRON Army's domination of the world.
- G.I. Joe ExtremeL Iron Klaw is the maniacal leader of SKAR (Soldiers of Khaos, Anarchy and Ruin), using his public guise of Count Von Rani to cover up his heinous acts. Iron Klaw abuses and threatens his own minions into submission and regularly endangers innocents in his schemes for power, never hesitating to test out a new weapon or acquired Kill Sat on entire cities. In one of his most horrific crimes, Iron Klaw subjected dozens of captured men to experiments that left them mutilated monstrosities that he abandoned to die, and when the sole "success", Wreckage, lost his memory, Iron Klaw manipulated him into believing America was behind his trauma, and uses him as a weapon that he discards as soon as he runs out of usefulness. Iron Klaw's grandest scheme comes when he invades a meeting of dozens of world leaders and infects them all with a deadly plague, using them as hostages to enable his takeover of America, and, when Iron Klaw's attempts to gain control of America's nuclear weapons to use in a conquest of Earth fails, he orders the world leaders be burned alive and their screams broadcasted for all his enemies to hear.
- Sigma 6: Cobra Commander is as bombastically villainous as always, and despite the heavy censorship of this series, stands out as a purely evil warlord. Using "Thor's Hammer" to obliterate the G.I. Joe base of operations, the Commander then attempts to use "Thor's Hammer" to carve off the entire East Coast of America so as to invade it and create his own country, uncaring of the massive casualties that would ensue. The Commander pulls off a variety of other terrorist acts that endanger many innocent people—all while threatening the lives of his minions and command council for the slightest of failures—and reaches the apex of his evil when he unveils the Terrordrome. Using the Terrordrome, the Commander throws all of Earth's weather into catastrophic conditions, causing floods and forest fires worldwide that endanger countless lives, and follows it up by threatening to leave entire countries in these conditions while revealing he has frozen all of the world's leaders alive to serve as trophies to his conquest.
- Resolute: Cobra Commander is the ruthless leader of the international terrorist organization Cobra, and this version is a far cry from his previous versions. Appearing before the United Nations via a hologram, Cobra Commander wipes out Moscow and its population of 10 million with his Kill Sat and announces he will do the same to more nations if the world hasn't surrendered to him within 24 hours. After the G.I. Joes begin thwarting his plans, Cobra Commander orders his soldiers to destroy cities randomly until the world gives him what he wants, then kills one of them for informing him they have to recharge the weapon first. When the Joes locate his base, Cobra Commander proceeds to freak out, slaughter his entire command center, and try to use his satellite laser to obliterate Washington, D.C. before being stopped by the G.I. Joes.
- Renegades:
- Cobra Commander/Adam DeCobray is the cruel, calculating head of Cobra Industries, who uses the supposed philanthropic organization to mask the terrorist activities of the group "Cobra". The Commander utilizes Cobra for a variety of crimes, from developing a bioplague to wiping out entire towns when they halt Cobra development, all while silencing any potential leaks and ruthlessly executing or punishing his subordinates, notably sealing a metal mask around the face of James McCullen and dubbing him "Destro". To combat the Joes, the Commander threatens their entire families with death, kidnaps one of their number to experiment on, and frames them for heinous crimes committed by Cobra itself. After his bevy of plans to Take Over the World through more subtle methods are consistently thwarted by the Joes, the Commander forgoes all attempts at obscurity and tries to lead a full-on invasion of various countries using the M.A.S.S. device.
- Dr. Mindbender, real name Brian Bender is portrayed here as a more youthful, monstrous incarnation of his usual depictions in media. A psychopathic Mad Scientist who develops the Bio-Viper army for Cobra, Mindbender experiments on innocents to assist in his projects, and works with Baroness in ordering the deranged Firefly to destroy a small town and its inhabitants. Torturing the twin psychics Tomax and Xamot in an attempt to use their powers for Mind Rape, Mindbender later tries to destroy Brooklyn, New York just to distract the Joes from his activities, and interrogates and threatens a young child for information in the same episode. As Cobra develops the M.A.S.S. device, Mindbender cheerfully tests it on Cobra's own soldiers, uncaring of any deaths it causes, before trying to send Snake Eyes through it and kill him while making his best friend Scarlett watch.
The Rise of Cobra & Retaliation
- The Doctor/Cobra Commander is the Diabolical Mastermind behind Cobra, and the ultimate villain of the films. Once a soldier named Rex Lewis who was left to die by his military allies, the Commander embraced his abandonment, as it gave him time to weaponize the nanomite technology and ally with James "Destro" McCullen of MARS Industries as "the Doctor". Using the nanomite technology to mind control a variety of soldiers—even his own sister Ana, the future Baroness—"the Doctor" planned to assist McCullen in using the nanomites to wipe out major cities, before using Zartan to replace the President of the United States for ultimate power. After the nanomite plan fails, "the Doctor" betrays McCullen, uses Ana as a hostage, tries to blow up his entire lair and everyone inside and christens himself Cobra Commander. Later escaping prison, the Commander uses Zeus to destroy London, promising to continue wiping out entire cities until the world cows to Cobra.
- Zartan is the Commander's right-hand psychopath, a Master of Disguise whose sadism and cheerful personality make him far worse than any other servant of Cobra. His introductory scene showing him stabbing Cover Girl through the back and mocking her as she dies, Zartan assists in killing a variety of Joes before killing a man for his clothes to evade capture. After capturing and replacing the President of the United States, who he regularly tortures for information, Zartan orders the execution of the G.I. Joes and kickstarts a war in a foreign country to enable Cobra Commander's escape. At the demonstration of Zeus, Zartan giddily pulls the trigger that blows up the city of London, England, and is revealed to have been the one who killed Storm Shadow's master as a child and corrupted him into evil, cementing himself as the worst Cobra has to offer alongside its Commander.
- James "Destro" McCullen, from The Rise of Cobra with a small cameo in Retaliation, is an Arms Dealer and the head of Military Armaments Research Syndicate (M.A.R.S.) Industries, using the company to mask his growing schemes for power. Able and willing to sell to weapons to terrorists worldwide and eager to test out said weapons on anyone in close proximity, McCullen works with the Doctor to create the powerful machines called Nanites, using them to turn hundreds of men into enslaved soldiers fully aware of their surroundings but unable to control their own actions. Developing four nanite warheads then orchestrating the destruction of the military convoy transporting them, McCullen tests one of the warheads out on Paris in an attempt to wipe it out, before planning to use the other three to destroy Moscow, Beijing and Washington, D.C., at which point his plan to use an imposter President to take control of a panicked Earth will ensue. McCullen also arranges for the deaths of his own troops should they be captured, has the President's security detail killed, and keeps the Baroness as his enslaved puppet to seduce, even ordering the death of her public husband out of mere jealousy.
- Operation HISS tie-in comic: Major Sebastian Bludd is a mercenary hired by Cobra to cover up its criminal activities and enable the escape of Cobra Commander from imprisonment. Using nanomite technology to turn entire factories of workers into living statues or bloodthirsty soldiers, Bludd kidnaps a variety of military soldiers to use as hostages, executing one simply because his rank is higher than "major". Bludd demands the release of Cobra Commander, threatening to start detonating bombs across the entire world and kill thousands of people if his demands are not met, and illustrates the threat is real by blowing up the Golden Gate bridge, killing everyone on it with smug satisfaction before ordering a variety of other bombs be detonated—though noting to spare Sydney, Australia from any of them, as he has family there he wants to kill with his bare hands very soon.

- Action Force: In this British comic retooling of the classic G.I. Joe franchise, Baron Ironblood, later Cobra Commander, is a sociopathic terrorist obsessed with subjugating or destroying all he surveys. Having created the terrorist organization known as the Red Shadows in a murderous campaign, Ironblood uses them to perpetrate various atrocities throughout the comic, from attempting to wipe out entire cities to planning full-scale invasions of countries at a time, promising to paint the streets red with blood, until, finally annoyed at his constant losses, Ironblood betrays his entire organization to be wiped out by Action Force, ditching them to their fates while he restyles himself as Cobra Commander, creating a new group called Cobra in the process. With this new group, Cobra Commander's evil only increases, as he tries to kick-start wars, enslave London, and finally infect all of humanity with a plague, the cure for which he will only give to those who will bow down to him. Cobra Commander is also a horrific boss to his minions, subjecting them to training that kills dozens of them at a time, executing them for the pettiest of slights, and feeding them to ravenous beasts regularly for his own amusement. Be it as Ironblood or Cobra Commander, this power-hungry madman would let no man, woman, or child come between him and his goals, and he kills thousands of them to illustrate this point.

- The Transformers: Unicron, debuting in the 1986 animated movie, is an ancient planet-eating Transformer that was created by a Mad Scientist called Primacron. Primacron created Unicron to help him take over the universe, but he rebelled and destroyed Primacron's lab. Unicron travelled through space and devoured many inhabited worlds, including the planet of Lithone. After learning of Optimus Prime's death and his passing of the Matrix of Leadership, Unicron tracked down Megatron and tasked him to destroy it, as it was the only thing that could stand in his way. Torturing Megatron into accepting his deal, Unicron reformatted him into Galvatron and made him more susceptible to his psychic assaults. Galvatron, tired of being Unicron's pawn, tried to use the Matrix to turn Unicron into his slave, but it had no effect in his hands. In retaliation, Unicron started destroying Cybertron and attacked both Autobot and Decepticon alike. Unicron was eventually defeated by a Matrix-wielding Rodimus and only his head remained to orbit Cybertron, a testament to the Transformer that made even the mighty Megatron beg for mercy.
- Super-God Masterforce: Devil Z is the Decepticon Emperor. Stealing 8 Transtectors to create an army of humans merged with the power of Transformers, Devil Z later intended to cast aside the Godmasters as tools. Straight up Desecrating the Dead and later torturing his minions, Devil Z happily resorts to blaming his minions when he makes an error or miscalculation. Later when humanity proves themselves to be unpredictable, Devil Z decides that humanity is an existential threat and that he must Kill All Humans. When his own subordinates think he is going too far, he kills them without hardly a second thought, and displays absolutely no remorse for his actions.

- Unicron is a powerful planet-eating Transformer and the Arch-Enemy of Primus, the creator of the Cybertronians. Millions of years ago, Primus stopped Unicron's quest to consume all of existence by trapping him within a lifeless asteroid and left to wander aimlessly through space. When Primus was shot during a fight between the Autobots and Decepticons, Unicron heard his rival's scream of pain and made a direct path towards Cybertron. Stopping to devour the planet of Ghennix and its roughly 60 billion inhabitants, Unicron reformatted three of its survivors to be his new heralds. After sending them to retrieve Galvatron from the future, Unicron tortured him in order to gain his compliance. He distracted Primus's forces by siccing his sleeper agents that were planted within Cybertron's population millennia ago. Once he finally arrived, Unicron devastated Cybertron and claimed countless lives, including Primus's. Unicron's rampage left lasting scars on Cybertron's surface and truly earned him the title of the Chaos Bringer.
- Lord Straxus is a brutal Decepticon warlord who took over Cybertron after the departure of Megatron. During his reign, Straxus would have his troops round up any Cybertronian who did not pledge loyalty to the Decepticons and subject them to his smelting pools, where they would be melted down for spare parts while they were still alive. Upon receiving a transmission from Earth, Straxus had the neutral scientist Spanner kidnapped so he could build a space bridge for him. When the bridge started malfunctioning, Straxus sent men after men to their deaths because he was too impatient to figure out what the problem was. He would then forcibly reconfigure Spanner's body to become part of the space bridge, leaving him in constant pain and begging for death. After being reduced to a severed head, Straxus intended to swap bodies with Megatron and crush him in his helpless state. When that plan failed, Straxus forcibly reformatted one of his soldiers into becoming a clone of Megatron and transferred his mind into their body. He would continue to torment the clone and eventually drove him to suicide in his attempts to take over his body. Straxus dispensed no mercy to all sides of the conflict, and promised only death to those who stood in his way.
- Flame is an Autobot scientist who was kicked out of his academy in disgrace after proposing a revival of Megatron’s plan to turn Cybertron into a mobile spacecraft. Bitter over his rejection, Flame ignored the warnings of his peers despite the danger his project posed to Cybertron. After discovering an abandoned engine room left behind by the Decepticons, Flame faked his death and continued his research in secrecy. When a test firing of the repaired engines destroyed a section of the city Kalis, Flame transmitted a signal that reanimated the corpses of his fellow Cybertronians and forced them to attack anyone who came close to the city. Flame refused to listen to the warnings of his former colleague, Emirate Xaaron, and tried to kill him when Xaaron attempted to shut down his reactor before it would destroy Cybertron. Flame showed no remorse over turning the victims of his own hubris into his zombie slaves, and only cared about restoring the reputation he deservedly lost.
- Generation 2: Jhiaxus is the ruler of the Cybertronian Empire, but was once just another Decepticon warlord on Cybertron. Believing the war between the Autobots and Decepticons was hindering the progress of their species, Jhiaxus abandoned his sadistic ways and left Cybertron with a legion of Decepticons. He led his empire on a campaign of conquest and genocide, terraforming new worlds and wiping out any "inferior beings" that happened to get in their way. When the Autobots began attacking his outposts, Jhiaxus focused his efforts on eliminating this new threat to his empire. Declaring war on both the Autobots and Decepticons, Jhiaxus's cruel nature began resurfacing as he ordered the slaughter of numerous species to lure the Autobots out of hiding. He managed to track down the base of the Autobots and Decepticons, and sent wave after wave of his men to wipe them all out. When Optimus Prime warned him about the arriving threat of the Swarm, Jhiaxus ordered the destruction of San Francisco simply out of spite. Jhiaxus ordered a second strike that would kill his own men, and crushed the head of a soldier who suggested they retreat. Jhiaxus blamed Optimus for his empire falling apart and refused to believe he was still just as much of a petty tyrant as he was back on Cybertron.
- Alignment unlicensed continuation, by Simon Furman himself: The Liege Maximo finally takes center stage as the final threat that the Autobots and Decepticons had to face. One of the original Transformers created by Primus, the Liege Maximo coveted its divine power and wished to become a god equal to its creator. After creating the Decepticons, the Liege Maximo left Cybertron and formed the Cybertronian empire, who were responsible for wiping out countless species during their conquests. The worlds they conquered were added to the Hub, which would open a portal that would ascend the Liege Maximo to godhood while destroying the universe in the process. After being discovered by an Autobot scout ship, the Liege Maximo ordered its fleet to destroy the Autobots and Decepticons before they could intervene with its plans. It harvested the sparks of its own followers to open the portal, and killed several more Transformers who stood in its way. Utterly indifferent to lives that suffered at its hands, the Liege Maximo embraced its dark nature on its path to godhood.
- The Transformers: Regeneration One (IDW, by Simon Furman):
- Megatron becomes far crueler and more sadistic than he was in the original Marvel series. After being reactivated by a group of humans investigating the crashed Ark, Megatron launched a campaign of slaughter in the hopes of luring Optimus Prime back to Earth. He used the Ark's systems to hack into military bases around the world, and launched hundreds of nuclear missiles to turn the planet into a complete wasteland. Megatron then turned his former Decepticon soldiers into mindless zombies and ordered them to hunt down any humans who were still alive. He kept Starscream conscious of his situation as payback for his years of treachery, and kept Ratchet's disembodied head alive due to their Psychic Link. After waiting twenty-one years for the Autobots to arrive, Megatron captured Kup and infected with him a deadly disease to use him as bait. When Optimus arrived to put an end to his schemes, Megatron ordered the rest of the world's nuclear arsenal to be launched in an attempt to kill everyone on the planet, him and Prime included. Wishing to go out in a blaze of glory and take everyone with him, Megatron became a vindictive sadist as a way to pass the time.
- Jhiaxus was a former senator on Cybertron who saw a grander destiny for his species than the one Primus laid out for them. Wishing to create a galaxy-spanning empire under his control, Jhiaxus stole the knowledge of how to create life from the Underbase and purged all records of himself from Cybertron. Over the millennia, Jhiaxus created the Hub Network, a series of interconnected planets built on a campaign of terraforming and genocide. When he arrived on Cybertron in the hopes of adding it back to his empire, he sneered when Rodimus Prime suggested the beings he wiped out classified as life. This disregard for life was shown when his Primum Frugae slaughtered the Primordials on Cybertron for being "sub-evolved". He later revealed to Rodimus Prime his plans to reformat the Autobots into fitting his view of a "master species" and execute the rest who were "tainted" by outsider technology. Ultimately obsessed with instilling his own version of order across the galaxy, Jhiaxus showed a no remorse for countless worlds he stripped of life to build his empire.

- Megatronus Prime, debuting here, is known as the Fallen. Created by Primus as one of the original Thirteen Primes, the Fallen became obsessed with the notions of entropy and decay, ultimately attempting to murder his creator after betraying him to Unicron. Escaping the prison he was trapped in some seven million years before the 21st century, The Fallen visited the G1 continuity, gathered several Decepticon outcasts and kidnapped four Transformers, through which he tried to channel enough energy to break the Seal of Primus, awaken Unicron, and end all reality, boasting that his victims were but "casualties in the wars of the Gods". Sharing his master's unquenchable thirst for destruction, The Fallen is precisely the kind of servant that Unicron most needs.
- General Robert Hallo was the head of military development for the United States Army. Obsessed with the idea of controlling the Transformers, Hallo had Adam Rook create a program that could remove the free will from Transformers, and hatched a plan to blow up the Ark II and gain a new robot army. After killing a man who attempted to blow the whistle on the plan, Hallo successfully destroyed the Ark II, killing all the humans on board and sending the Autobots and captured Decepticons into the Arctic Ocean. However, Adam decided to keep the program for himself, and disappeared not long after. Years later, after discovering Rook has been using the program to build a criminal empire, Hallo convinced Spike Witwicky to revive Optimus Prime. However, when showed that he had free will and refused to follow Hallo's orders, he had Optimus, his Autobots and the Decepticons hit with an air strike, intending to kill them all. Unfortunately for Hallo, not only did they survive, an enraged group of Decepticons began rampaging through San Francisco. To be rid of the Transformers once and for all, Hallo ordered the city to be nuked, and when Spike burst in to stop him, Hallo holds him at gunpoint and forces him to watch as the city and Transformers are destroyed. When Spike accused him of only caring about power, Hallo agreed with him, saying power is the only thing keeping Spike and his family safe.
- The aforementioned Adam Rook is also known as Lazarus. After designing a program that would remove the free will from Transformers, he decided to render the deaths of everyone aboard the Ark II meaningless by stealing the program and disappearing before Hallo had a chance to use it. Motivated by greed, Rook took the name Lazarus and built a criminal empire, using the program to force Transformers to work for dictators and terrorists, helping them stomp out their enemies without casualties on their side. He even forced good guys like Bumblebee, Ratchet and Ironhide to work for killers. Sometimes, he would take "customers" on tours of his base, and would make the Transformers kneel to him to show his power over them. After three years of running this successful criminal empire, Lazarus had a group of Transformers slaughter an oil refinery in the Arctic as a demonstration to potential buyers, and casually began auctioning off all of them not long after.
- Crossovers with G.I. Joe:
- Transformers/G.I. Joe, written by John Ney Rieber: Cobra Commander continues to prove himself capable of being an irredeemable psychopath when it comes to adaptations of his original iteration. With Cobra serving as a stand-in for the Nazi Party, Commander runs his empire with the same cruel egomania that the Nazis were known for. After discovering the Decepticons hidden in an ancient monastery whose inhabitants he has just had slaughtered, Commander forcefully takes control of the Decepticons and forces them to lay waste to numerous countries across Europe, including Berlin and Rome. Any survivors of these massacres, including the children, are forced into slave camps, and, later, used as human shields against the Commander's enemies. After forcing a Decepticon to exhaust all his energy in wantonly laying waste to enemies and allies alike, the Commander reveals his plan to use the Decepticons to institute a new world order under his rule where only the strong will survive and serve under his thumb. Cobra Commander is a megalomaniac whose status as a stand-in for the Nazi leadership makes him one of the most realistic, and wicked, baddies throughout the G.I. Joe franchise.
- G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers (Devil's Due Publishing series):
- G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers II, written by Dan Jolley: Shockwave is a coldly ruthless Decepticon who assumed control of Cybertron after the disappearances of Optimus Prime and Megatron, and now rules it with an iron fist, crushing any rebellion against him. Scheming to invade Earth, Shockwave successfully turns the planet into a warzone, killing billions of humans and keeping countless more as slave labor who he routinely executes by the dozen when they fall behind in their workloads. When the past is altered and Earth is saved from this invasion, Shockwave instead attempts to bring about a time fracture upon Earth, bathing the planet in nuclear fire for decades and wiping out all life on the planet so he can then gut the planet of its resources, and planning to keep human survivors as experiments for him to vivisect.
- Black Horizon, written by Tim Seeley: Unicron is the Chaos Bringer, a planet-sized Transformer that devours entire planets and keeps thousands of survivors as tortured, mind-altered slaves inside his body until they die and he replaces them with new victims. Having devoured countless planets over millennia, Unicron struck a deal with Cobra-La on Earth that he would spare the planet for a few centuries until there were billions of humans populating it, at which point Unicron would return and consume them all, leaving the barren husk for Cobra-La to rule. When the G.I. Joes and Transformers try to stop Unicron as he causes natural disasters worldwide and kills countless people, Unicron sics his "antibodies" on them, gleefully boasting his plans to slowly eat them all alive in the same fell swoop that he consumes Earth.
- Golobulus, also from Black Horizon, is Unicron's agent on Earth, ruling over Cobra-La and using his forces to scheme for Unicron's return. Capturing and twisting several Transformers into his monstrous slaves, Golobulus uses them to slaughter anyone who tries to uncover his plans, and even takes humans captive to be kept as tortured pets. Threatening and abusing his own people should they fail him, Golobulus, believing humanity to be a blight upon the Earth, summons Unicron to Earth to wipe out the entire race so that himself and Cobra-La can reign over the planet, and tries to brutally kill the G.I. Joe soldier Firewall as a "sacrifice" to Unicron in celebration of the genocide of humanity.

- Bludgeon, debuting in Stormbringer, is the leader of a nihilistic cult and a former Decepticon war criminal. Trying to awaken Thunderwing, Bludgeon attempts to unleash him upon countless worlds to erase them of life. Eventually falling in line with Shockwave, Bludgeon liberates Jhiaxus on his behest, butchering Wheelie and Garnak in the process, and aids Shockwave in his grand, universe-destroying plans. Returning later when confronted by the Dinobots, Bludgeon performs horrible experiments upon sparks and Transformers to twist and mold them into monsters, while attempting to awaken and control the monstrous Trypticon to go on a killing spree. Later switching allegiance to Unicron, Bludgeon happily intends to spread the destruction of the Chaos-Bringer across existence to consume all in their path. A psychotic nihilist with a fetish for destruction, Bludgeon ranks as among the worst of the Decepticons.
- Nova Prime, debuting in Escalation, is a self-concerned megalomaniac who ascends to Primehood following the abdication of the Thirteen Primes, "uniting" Cybertron and oppressing Cybertronians with "lesser" alt-modes under his banner. Plotting the conquest of the universe and the oppression of all other life forms, Nova had Jhiaxus conduct twisted experiments on six "beast" Cybertronians, turning them into the horrifying Monstructor. Leaving Cybertron aboard the Ark-1, Nova deliberately ordered his crew to fly into a portal to the Dead Universe in order to satiate his own ego. From there, Nova plots to merge the Dead Universe with the "living" one, destroying all life in the process, allowing him to both return home at long last and ascend to godhood. Returning in Dark Cybertron, Nova kills the Autobot Hardhead by exposing him to the Dead Universe and intends to use Orion Pax, Rodimus and Cyclonus' sparks to power Kup's spacebridge, uncaring that this will kill them all.
- Overlord is without a doubt one of the vilest Decepticons to ever grace the organization's ranks. An easily bored sadist with a love for bloodshed and fighting known for tearing through battlefields with glee, Overlord developed a pathological fear of defeat and hatred of Megatron when the latter defeated him in combat, and dedicates his life to destroying Megatron for the insult. Taking over Garrus-9 and turning it into a hellish concentration camp after killing several of his own allies, Overlord tortures and butchers hundreds of Autobots in various creative ways, hoping to lure Megatron out with his sheer depravity only to order the 50 surviving Autobot prisoners executed when his plans for Megatron are foiled. Overlord later horribly dismembers and kills the Autobot Rewind, mocking his spouse with Rewind's final moments of agony, and endorses a war campaign that leads to widespread slaughter before ditching his allies. In his final appearance, Overlord teams up with Tarantulas, disguises himself as a human, and spreads warmongering ideology against his own species—trying to torture the human girl Verity to death during this venture as payback for thwarting him on Garrus-9—while planning to travel to countless alternate timelines and kill Megatron over and over before murdering Tarantulas when he tries to explain that Overlord's plans will shatter the timestream and lead to countless deaths.
- More Than Meets the Eye (includes Lost Light):
- Pharma was a former Autobot medic at a medical facility on the planet Delphi whose evil began when he killed bots for their organs to bribe an elite Decepticon unit. To cover up his crimes, he has two other Decepticons unleash a plague on the facility to kill everyone. Pharma shoots a life-support when revealed, sending about 20 patients into near-death states, then tries to kill Ratchet twice before being thrown off the facility. When he finds Ratchet again, he separates Ratchet's head and spark from his body and starts torturing him. To prove he is a better medic, he has Ambulon, one of his co-workers from Delphi, sliced vertically in half with a chainsaw and tells Ratchet to fix him, despite Ambulon already having died in agony.
- Froid is a former rival and friend of Rung who aids in brainwashing dissidents of the corrupt Cybertronian Senate and makes a deal with Sunder, offering to provide victims in return for Sunder aiding Froid in his research. Using Sunder to become wealthy and famous through the latter's ability to read memories, Froid secretly gives innocents for Sunder to kill. Froid boards the Lost Light to seek new victims for Sunder and tries to blackmail Rung—whose work he plagiarized—into giving Froid his patient files, releasing Sunder upon him as a distraction to escape when Rung refuses. Later, Froid nudges the Autobot Getaway's darker impulses for his own perverse curiosity, leading the latter to sacrifice some of his crew to Sunder.
- Devastation: Megatron is the ruthless leader of the Decepticons, who waged war against the Autobots for millions of years, leading to his own homeworld Cybertron becoming uninhabitable. Constantly trying to take over Earth, Megatron soon discovered the Autobot ship Proudstar, which was designed to cyberform uninhabited planets and started to cyberform New York City. Taking over that ship, Megatron creates a plan to use its Ferrotaxis supercomputer to speed up the process and cyberform the entire Earth, killing all organic life on it, which he openly considers inferior. Repeatedly thwarting the Autobots' attempt at stopping the cyberformation process, including launching unstable core of the ship outside of New York, which could have caused an extinction-level explosion, Megatron shoots Ferrotaxis into space to keep the Autobots from getting it. When Optimus Prime managed to reach it, Megatron battles him, openly announcing his intention of creating the new Cybertron and retaking the galaxy in a bloody conquest.
- Star Trek vs. Transformers, by John Barber, Mike Johnson, et al.: Megatron is once again portrayed as a power-mad tyrant. With the Autobots fleeing Earth with the breakout of World War III, Megatron and the Decepticons pursue them, resulting in a battle where both sides end up in stasis on a remote planet. Centuries later, a Federation mining team accidentally revives the Autobots and the Decepticons, resulting in the Decepticons attacking the Federation mining colony. Optimus Prime and the Enterprise crew team up and drive off the Decepticons, but Megatron meets and teams up with the Klingons. The Klingons and Decepticons renew their attack on the Federation mining colony, not caring how many Federation colonists die in these attacks. When Starscream flees to Kornos to conquer it, Megatron and the Decepticons pursue Starscream to Kornos. Megatron defeats Starscream and claims Kornos for himself so that he can enslave the Klingons and use their resources to launch a war of conquest against the Federation. When the Klingons refuse to surrender, Megatron orders his forces to annihilate all the Klingons.
- Beast Wars (connected via Broad Strokes):
- Megatron is a self-proclaimed tyrant and would-be Galactic Conqueror, who named himself after his world's equivalent of The Antichrist. A user and abuser of his followers, Megatron divides the world into enemies and pawns, killing or enslaving the former, and ruthlessly exploiting the latter. A gloating sadist, Megatron never kills anyone quickly when prolonged torture will do, considers his own allies expendable, and hopes to bring Cybertron, and eventually the galaxy, under his heel. His more notable crimes include extracting half of Rampage's spark, placing it in a vise, and using it to torture Rampage into submission; unsuccessfully ordering Dinobot to kill Quickstrike, one of Megatron's relatively more loyal soldiers, after Quickstrike lost to Dinobot in a sort of re-entrance exam into the Predacons; an aborted genocide of humanity's common ancestor; attempting to rewrite all of his history by killing the original Optimus Prime; and finally, sacrificing all his remaining troops in order to gain control of the Nemesis and set out to overrun the galaxy. His defeat doesn't stop him either—when he returns in Beast Machines he's gotten worse, picking up a serious god complex along the way. Seizing control of Cybertron, Megatron extracts the sparks from everyone on the planet, reducing them to mindless drones. Accquiring a hatred of all organic life, Megatron tries to scrub Cybertron clean of it, resulting in the near destruction of all life, robotic and organic, on his home planet when his last mad grasp for power finally fails.
- Tarantulas is a schemer and backstabber second-to-none. Planted as The Mole in Megatron's operation by the Predacon Secret Police, Tarantulas is a cackling Mad Scientist, who enjoys performing gruesome experiments on his victims, and eating anything or anyone he catches in his giant webs, organic or robotic; he admits to enjoying the act itself more than the meal. He brainwashes several Maximal protoforms into becoming Predacons, most notably Blackarachnia and Inferno, and eventually reveals that he hopes to usurp control of the team from Megatron. Tarantulas later exploits and Mind Rapes Blackarachnia, leaving her with a paranoid terror of him, and later swears a vendetta against her, promising to hunt the other spider down and kill her for daring to defy him. He tries to destroy the Ark, which would create a time paradox and lead to the extinction of the Transformers as a species. Ultimately betraying both sides, Tarantulas is revealed to be descended from neither Autobot nor Decepticon, and he attempts to use alien technology to wipe out all factions, swearing that when he's done with his own species, he will return and commit genocide against the aliens themselves. Void of loyalty or conscience, Tarantulas makes even his own nominal allies uneasy, a fact that he is downright proud of.

- Console video game: Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons, who waged war on his home planet Cybertron, resulting in it dying and all surviving Cybertronians being forced to flee from it. In search of the Allspark, Megatron came to Earth and got frozen in the Arctic. In the Decepticon campaign, Megatron, immediately after getting freed, orders his Decepticons to hunt down and kill all the Autobots. After they killed all of the Autobots aside from Optimus Prime, Megatron started to destroy a city, simply as a way to lure Optimus Prime out. Succeeding at that, Megatron managed to kill Optimus Prime and get his hands on the Allspark, invading the Earth and exterminating humanity, before proclaiming that he is finished with Earth.
- DS video game: Megatron lacks his film counterpart's nobler traits and replaces it with raw brutality. Having plunged Cybertron into civil war after killing his own father, Megatron tore out Bumblebee's vocal processor when he launched the Allspark into space. He followed the Allspark to Earth, but wound up frozen in the Arctic Circle. After being thawed out by his followers, Megatron's murderous rage was only tempered when they planned to blow up Hoover Dam and drown thousands of people. In Autobots, Megatron used the Allspark to terrorize the city of Tranquility and mortally wounded Create-A-Bot while trying to kill his own brother, Optimus Prime. In Decepticons, he tracked down and murdered Jazz after he foiled his plot to destroy Hoover Dam. After terrorizing Tranquility, Megatron killed Optimus and hunted down his traitorous lieutenant Starscream. Create-A-Con was gravely wounded after helping him defeat Starscream, and Megatron chose to kill him rather than waste resources trying to repair him. Megatron showed no remorse for the Decepticons who gave their lives for him and believed that the weak were only meant to serve the strong.
- Revenge of the Fallen:
- The Fallen, also known as Megatronus Prime, is this film's Big Bad and the film universe's first Decepticon. Originally one of the 7 members of the Dynasty of Primes, The Fallen betrayed his brothers and attempted to use the Star Harvester on Earth's Sun regardless of the Dynasty's code against taking life, solely because of his Fantastic Racism towards primitive humankind. Eons after his defeat, The Fallen corrupts Megatron, creates the Decepticons, and orders him to find the All Spark, making him responsible for the events of the first film. After he lures Optimus Prime to his death using Sam as bait, The Fallen sank an aircraft carrier, attacked several human cities, and slaughtered a sizable military force while acquiring the Matrix of Leadership to activate the Star Harvester again, fully intending to wipe out the human race.
- IDW comic: The Fallen himself is portrayed as even worse than his film counterpart. Once a member of the Thirteen Primes, The Fallen came to believe he was destined to become the most powerful of his brothers by re-powering the Allspark, then using it to make himself all-powerful. Using the Star Harvester, The Fallen drains the energy from a sun, uncaring that it leads to an entire planet dying, and blames it on one of his own servants when confronted about it. After attempting to use the Star Harvester once more, The Fallen comes to the realization that he no longer needs his Prime "brothers" or the Allspark, prompting instead to travel the universe searching for sentient life, then slaughtering countless worlds of their sentient species, absorbing the knowledge, weapons, and strategies of the billions he slays as he goes along. After butchering his Prime brothers, The Fallen attempts to use the Star Harvester to wipe out the entire Earth, taking extra time to crush humans underfoot while laughing. Though sealed away for thousands of years, The Fallen continues his wicked ways, as he reaches out and corrupts the noble Megatron into waging a war against Optimus Prime and the Autobots, leading to countless deaths and the destruction of Cybertron itself. The Fallen hopes to return to Earth and use the Star Harvester to destroy it for good this time, solely as a final act of spite toward his brothers.

- The Fallen is the original Decepticon and one of the 13 original Primes, who betrayed his "brothers" by slaughtering them for refusing to use their Star Harvester to harvest the Earth's sun for Energon, because they didn't want to doom the life on the planet. Ordering the Decepticons to wreak havoc and kill humans and Autobots, The Fallen has them revive Megatron. In the Decepticon campaign, The Fallen uses Megatron to find the Star Harvester, promising to make him a Prime, intending to betray him as soon as he succeeds. When Megatron confronted him about a lie, The Fallen immediately tries to kill him, using countless Decepticons as Cannon Fodder, while intending to not only destroy all life on Earth, but harvest countless stars and worlds across the galaxy.
- Starscream is the treacherous right hand of Megatron, who immediately took over as the leader of the Decepticon forces after Megatron died. Coordinating and organizing the Decepticon attacks on cities and military bases, Starscream encourages Decepticons to kill more innocent humans along the way. As his troops succeed to kill some Autobots, Starscream kidnaps and extract information about Mikaela Banes, Sam Witwicky's girlfriend, from a group of innocent people, killing them in process, and planning to kill Sam and Mikaela as well, Starscream has his troops search for them. Later on, assisting The Fallen in his attempts at harvesting Earth's sun, thus destroying all life on the planet, Starscream destroys a large museum full of people, trying to catch Sam and the ancient Seeker Jetfire.
- PS2/Wii video game: Megatron is the former leader of the Decepticons, who lost his position after dying at Optimus Prime's hands. After he got revived by the Fallen, Megatron was angry at the fact that The Fallen took away his leadership over the Decepticons. Barely tolerating his "new master", Megatron orders his Construction Devastator to spread chaos and destruction all over Chinese city of Shanghai, destroying large parts of the city, simply so he can get the piece of the Allspark. Destroying human military bases, Megatron assists The Fallen in his attempts at destroying all life on Earth simply so he can have a victory over the Autobots.

- Unlike in the film, Shockwave—also in the Foundation and Rising Storm prequel comics—is portrayed as a brutal and remorseless Decepticon assassin. Initially a follower of Sentinel Prime, Shockwave expressed disgruntlement with an age of peace and freedom and, as part of Megatron's Defense Force, eagerly massacred dissenting Cybertronians. After joining the Decepticons, Shockwave earned a reputation as Megatron's most lethal subordinate, openly admitting to enjoying the sounds of Autobots dying. Left in command of the Decepticons on Cybertron whilst Starscream searched for the Allspark, Shockwave waged a brutal campaign against the remaining Autobots, killing, amongst others, the Autobot Chromia. On Earth, Shockwave murders the Autobots Longarm and Salvage, as well as the entire crew of an oil processing plant, without provocation. Enslaving the drone who would later become "Brains" to build a "cage" for his Driller, Shockwave openly plans to terminate him when he is no longer useful. When Brains escapes, Shockwave tracks down Starscream's Decepticon splinter group, casually killing Deadlift simply for being in his way, and conscripts them into tracking Brains down. Shockwave then goes on a killing spree in the NEST base in Diego Garcia, killing all the personnel, human and Autobot alike, including traumatized Autobot refugees. Devoid of empathy, Shockwave mocks Elita-One's death at his hand to Prime's face and, later, sadistically taunts Prime about the Autobots that Shockwave killed during their encounter in Chernobyl. Even the death of the Driller, his loyal pet, fails to rouse any emotion from Shockwave, who treats its death as an inconvenience. A merciless sadist who revels in killing, Shockwave terrifies Autobot and Decepticon alike.
- Dylan Gould, unlike in the film, is portrayed as a sadistic psychopath with delusions of grandeur. Having willingly allied with Decepticons years back, Gould covers up the Decepticons' plans and presence from the public eye, having anyone who attempts to learn the truth murdered by his personal Decepticon attack dog, Laserbeak. Once the Decepticons reveal themselves and attack the Earth, Gould uses Sam Witwicky to spy on the Autobots under threat of slaughtering his girlfriend, Carly, and giddily gives the order for the Autobots to be shot down while they are attempting to leave the Earth. Masterminding the invasion of Chicago, Gould has the Decepticons kill countless people and destroy much of the city while turning it into a fortress. Gould ultimately plans to assist the Decepticons in transporting as much of humanity to Cybertron as possible, then use them as slaves to rebuild Cybertron while Gould lords over them as their master. Even when the Autobots and humans begin defeating the Decepticons, Gould still activates the portal to bring Cybertron to Earth, completely eliminating any possible claims he had to not being fully complicit in the Decepticons' actions. Always wearing a smile and having a witty quip on hand to cover up his raving egomania, Gould truly represents the very worst humans have to offer.
- Peter David's novelization: Sentinel Prime loses all of his film counterpart's redeeming features, turning the somewhat-sympathetic Well-Intentioned Extremist into a psychopathic Knight Templar. Having made a deal with Megatron eons ago to betray his allies the Autobots, Sentinel fulfills this deal in the present after pretending to assist the Autobots, showing his true colors by ruthlessly executing three of his "brothers." Sentinel steals the Pillars from the military group NEST by threatening its director, Charlotte Mearing, stating that if she doesn't give him the Pillars, he will force her to watch as he slaughters every man, woman, and child he can until she does. Lying to humanity to get them to force the Autobots to leave Earth in exchange for Sentinel's offer of peace, Sentinel goes back on his word, orchestrating a full-scale invasion of Earth by the Decepticons and personally overseeing the blood-soaked conflict in Chicago. Sentinel ultimately plans to transport as many humans to Cybertron as possible, then torture and abuse them into reconstructing Cybertron, leaving the rest of humankind to be destroyed alongside the Earth by Cybertron's gravitational field. In the end, Sentinel treats the deaths of Autobot and Decepticon alike with cold satisfaction, proclaiming that he will be the only god left on Cybertron when the dust settles, proving once and for all that, despite his claims of wanting the best for his people, Sentinel truly only cares for himself and his supposed claim to godhood.

- Age of Extinction note : CIA agent Harold Attinger is the creator of "Cemetery Wind", a black ops group taking it upon itself to wipe out all Transformers upon the planet regardless of faction. Attinger entered a deal between himself, Lockdown, and Joshua Joyce's Kinetic Solutions Incorporated where Lockdown gives the remains of any Transformer he murders to Joyce for production into man-made Transformers, and Attinger would trade Optimus for the Seed needed to create more man-made Transformers to sell to the US Army. Despite his rhetoric, Attinger's actions and the consequences of said actions—having Cade Yeager's daughter Tessa threatened and causing possibly millions of human deaths through the Seed—-prove him to be driven only by his greed and hatred of Transformers.

- War for Cybertron & Fall of Cybertron: Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, is the instigator of the first game's titular war. A merciless tyrant, Megatron is bent on the conquest of Cybertron and the destruction of the Autobots, with the resulting war ravaging Cybertron and devastating its population. After taking control of the powerful Dark Energon, Megatron infects Cybertron's core with the substance, further damaging the planet and bringing it under his control. When this corruption is cleared away, the core is forced to shut down, leaving Cybertron on the brink of death. As the Autobots try to leave the dying world, Megatron has their ships shot down, endangering the future of his own species to satisfy his hatred for the Autobots, before sending the monstrous Trypticon after them. In Rise of the Dark Spark, Megatron acquires the Dark Spark and uses it to resurrect dead Autobots as mindless drones who will fight on his side. When offered a truce by Optimus Prime in Fall of Cybertron, Megatron refuses, blaming Optimus for Cybertron's decline, declaring himself the planet's future, and trying to destroy the Autobots' last hope of leaving Cybertron alive. After discovering the damaged Trypticon, Megatron, not caring if Trypticon is still conscious or not, has him forcibly converted into a warship for his own use. As the Autobots flee Cybertron, Megatron stages one last assault on the Ark, doing his best to kill Optimus Prime and doom the Autobots. Ruthless and bloodthirsty beyond measure, Megatron is willing to doom his own homeworld and his entire species to satisfy his lust for power and hatred for his enemies.
- Fall of Cybertron & Rise of the Dark Spark: Shockwave is one of the highest ranking Decepticons in Megatron's army, who is responsible for many of their inventions. After Megatron sent him to track down the ancient artifact called the Dark Spark, Shockwave managed to enslave Insecticons to his will and captured Cliffjumper, planning to experiment on him later. Succeeding in getting the Dark Spark, Shockwave helped Megatron use it to revive the dead Autobots, while planning to capture and experiment on many more Autobots. After that, Shockwave captured and experimented on countless Autobots and Insecticons, dissecting them in his labs. Forcing his Decepticon underlings to work with the Insecticons, despite the wild nature of the beasts, Shockwave didn't care that this led to them slaughtering each other. Getting his hands on Grimlock and his Lightning Strike team, Shockwave performed numerous especially brutal experiments on them, hoping to wipe their mind and rebuild them as his own foot soldiers. After Grimlock freed himself, Shockwave sent hundreds of his own underlings and Insecticons to get slaughtered, simply as a way to test Grimlock's abilities.
- Rise of the Dark Spark: Lockdown is a Bounty Hunter searching for the titular Dark Spark. After discovering that it has landed on Earth, he and his army of mercenaries attack a city in their quest to find it, and also torture Drift and nearly kill him and Bumblebee after they interfere. Once he acquires the Spark, Lockdown and his army later attack a second city so he will gain access to a time bridge hidden underground. As he prepares to activate the bridge, he gloats to Optimus Prime about how he plans on using the bridge to bring the Decepticons down to Earth, which would reignite another Cybertronian civil war that would result in the Earth being destroyed. Relishing in his profession, Lockdown nearly started another galactic war that would've killed millions of humans and Cybertronians alike, all so he could satisfy his greed.

- Unicron is an ancient entity that shared an existence with Primus before both developed their own viewpoints and feelings towards the universe, Unicron choosing to see all life as pointless and beneath himself. Unicron waged a path of destruction across the universe, destroying countless worlds before being plunged into a deep slumber from which the Earth formed around him and gave life to humanity. Upon being awoken by Megatron's efforts, Unicron immediately denounces the loyal Megatron as worthless to him, and reveals his plans to destroy the entire Earth and personally enjoy the annihilation of humankind. Although Unicron was beaten, his essence attached to Megatron, and soon takes control of Megatron's corpse—-in the process barring the Decepticon from the afterlife and keeping him as a toy to be tortured—after which Unicron plans to destroy Cybertron as a final spite against his former brother Primus.
- Colonel Leland "Silas" Bishop is leader of MECH, a terrorist group researching Cybertronian technology. His crimes include capturing Breakdown, torturing him, trying to have him vivisected, and removing one of his eyes; and allying MECH with Airachnid to get his hands on another Cybertronian, Arcee, and was perfectly willing to let Airachnid kill Jack Darby, a sixteen-year old teenager, and his mother to do it; he even states a few human lives are worth it for Arcee's tech. After his men upload him into the now-dead Breakdown's empty shell, saving his life in the process, he thanks them for that and their years of loyal service by thanking them personally and then slaughtering them. He then, taking the name CYLAS—"CYbernetic Lifeform Augmented by Symbiosis"—betrays the human race to Megatron. Seeing himself as a superior being, he razes a military base just to get Megatron's attention, then attempts to blow up everybody inside Raf's house.
- The aforementioned Airachnid is a self-styled "ex-Decepticon" who spent her time in the Great War capturing, torturing, and slowly killing any Autobots she could find for fun. For certain victims, like Arcee, she'd go out of her way to find people they cared for and murder them before their eyes as part of her fun. After the war left Cybertron, she struck out solo to pursue a new hobby: hunting endangered and soon-to-be extinct species—or species she will make extinct—for sport and collecting grisly "trophies" of her kills. Should she find an attractive species that isn't endangered, she'll ensure that they are by the time she's done, deciding to make humans her new toys, starting with the teenage Jack Darby. Forced back into serving Megatron, Airachnid barely hides her dissatisfaction, trying to usurp control from Megatron at times. She finally breaks free when she finds an Insecticon hive, murders fellow Decepticon Breakdown along the way, and plans to use her new servants to destroy Megatron. Sadistic, merciless and terrifying while enjoying her atrocities, Airachnid is one of the worst to wear the Decepticon logo.
- Beast Hunters comic: Airwave, from the first two issues, is an Autobot, who after the Great Civil War abandoned the Autobots' ideals in favor of an "everyone out for himself" philosophy, due to believing that Optimus Prime and the others left them to die on Cybertron. Forming one of the Autobots cities underground, called Lost Spark, Airwave found an easy way to get Energon for himself by secretly killing his own followers and then draining their bodies of Energon in the morgue. Thus killing several dozen of his own people and closest friends, Airwave planned to feast on all inhabitants on the Lost Spark, until he was discovered by Sludge and Snarl, after which he shot Firestar in the back and framed them for it, leading to his followers attacking them. Trying to kill Sludge and Snarl, Airwave didn't care when he killed dozens of his own people in the crossfire.
- Robots in Disguise: Megatronus, once a member of the Thirteen Primes, was locked away for betraying his comrades and murdering Solus Prime. Still having influence outside of his prison, Megatronus causes the Decepticon prison transport ship, The Alchemor, to crash on Earth, unleashing dozens of Decepticons on the planet. Contacting Steeljaw, Megatronus manipulates him into releasing him from his prison, and uses his psychic powers to force one of Steeljaw's soldiers to begin amputating his own arm to convince Steeljaw to work faster. When unleashed from his prison, Megatronus betrays Steeljaw, tries to murder both him and the Autobots attempting to thwart him, and reveals he plans to use the power of Unicron and the Allspark to destroy both Earth and Cybertron in one fell swoop as revenge for his imprisonment. Perhaps once a good person, Megatronus shed any heroic traits and replaced them with pure sociopathy and blind hatred.

- Robots in Disguise (dub only): Megatron is the leader of the Predacons, who arrived on Earth in search of the Autobot Weapon Fortress Maximus under the pretext of raiding Earth for its energy. Upon arrival, he kidnaps Doctor Kenneth Onishi and probes his mind to find the location of Fortress Maximus. After receiving knowledge of the Autobot Protoforms, Megatron corrupts their sparks in order to create his Decepticons. Although initially A Father to His Men to his minions if they prove themselves worthy of respect, he discards these qualities upon his rebirth as the Decepticon Galvatron—absorbing the energies of the Predacon Brothers against their will to power his new body immediately upon his transformation, and later reducing Scourge and the Decepticons to mindless drones for plotting to overthrow him with the use of Fortress Maximus. Galvatron's worst actions, however, came during the finale when, after surviving a battle with Fortress Maximus, he transforms into bat form and drains Fortress Maximus's energy to power himself. He then unleashes his bat swarm to brainwash human children with the goal of enslaving them and repeating the process from planet to planet until he has conquered the universe, threatening to harm the children if Omega Supreme or the Autobots intervene. When the Autobots flee into the Space Bridge, Galvatron sends the Decepticons to pursue with the intention of destroying both groups by collapsing the Space Bridge, not caring if any Predacon gets caught in the collapse, all so he could have the entire planet to himself.

- Unicron is a powerful and ancient Transformer who feeds upon worlds and the negative emotions of others. Disguising himself as one of Cybertron's moons, Unicron created the Mini-Cons to escalate the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Hoping to consume both sides once he regained enough power from their conflict, Unicron's plans were foiled when the Mini-Cons gained free will and abandoned Cybertron. Once fully awakened, Unicron attacked Cybertron, killed Starscream, and briefly stripped the Mini-Cons of their free will. After being defeated, Unicron returned by devouring the home world of Alpha Q and all of its inhabitants. When Megatron revived him, in hopes of turning him into a weapon, Unicron possessed Megatron and went off to destroy several planets that Alpha Q had managed to restore.
- The aforementioned Megatron, later known as Galvatron, is the brutal commander of the Decepticons. Desiring to destroy the Autobots and conquer the universe, Megatron enslaves Mini-Cons, tries to kill the Autobots' human allies, and tries to destroy Earth with the Hydra Cannon. Upon his resurrection, Megatron leads his forces in destructive raids for Energon. Megatron plans to use the element to revive Unicron and use him as a weapon. A megalomaniac who overthrew the generally peaceful leader of the Decepticons to make them his own, Megatron spurred them into all-out war against the Autobots, leading to heavy casualties on both sides. Megatron utilized chemical weapons that wiped out entire battlefields—even his own men—and air bombings on civilians during the Great War. After resurrecting himself on Earth, having caused much destruction to regain his body, Megatron makes several attempts to invade Cybertron, culminating in him ordering Decepticon attacks on several Autobot bases throughout the cosmos while he personally invades Cybertron and destroys its Autobot leaders, planning to test his new Omega Supreme clones by first annihilating Detroit.
- Lockdown is a ruthless and sadistic Bounty Hunter whose only loyalty is to himself. Unaligned with Autobots or Decepticons, Lockdown is indiscriminate in his prey, taking commissions from whomever is willing to pay him. To make himself more powerful, Lockdown steals upgrades from his targets, torturing them by cutting the weapons from his victims' bodies. Devoid of empathy, Lockdown sees his victims as little more than trophies, taunting them if he chances to encounter them again. Having once been a student of the Autobot Yoketron, Lockdown murdered his former master in order to steal the protoforms under Yoketron's protection and sell them for his own profit. Merciless and consumed by greed, Lockdown is a sociopath who frightens and disgusts Autobots and Decepticons alike.
- Meltdown, originally Prometheus Black, is a human scientist who ended up mutated by his own experiments. He tries to kill his rival, Isaac Sumdac, in a fit of rage whilst blaming him for all his problems, including his self-inflicted transformation. Later, he becomes so obsessed with creating a human transformer, he not only mutates at least two innocent humans—one of them his own lawyer—into gruesome hybrids combined with animal parts, he also decides to kidnap Sumdac's innocent eight-year-old daughter as his newest test subject, deciding to experiment on children in general now. When Blackarachnia breaks him out of jail in exchange for him eliminating her organic half, he double-crosses her and tries to destroy her Transformer half—a deed which, if not destroying her soul completely, would have left her with a completely organic body she's disgusted with. He also forces the Dinobots to work for him by painfully burning them with his acidic touch until they follow his commands. He hurt them so badly that they were willing to turn on Bulkhead and Prowl, their only friends among the main cast, just to stay in Meltdown's good graces.
- Shattered Glass:
- Ultra Magnus was locked up in his universe for trying to usurp Optimus Prime, getting his face ripped off in the process. He and several others travel to earth, where he assimilates numerous Autobots into the Junkion hordes, resulting in them becoming mindless slaves and dead in all but name. After that, he proceeds to set up a plan to take rarified energon from Earth with his sword and destroy it. His plan is foiled when a shield is placed around the Earth, but his real plan was to cause the death of the entire universe. Even the normal Decepticons turned against him, as they wanted to be the conquerors, and were appalled when they realized the extent of the damage.
- "Coalescence": The Fallen escapes from his defeat in an undefined universe and retreats into the Shattered Glass universe. There, he discovers the nature of negative-polarity universes, and plots to conquer them all. Deceiving the Underbase staff into serving him, The Fallen has them build a portal to the multiverse that requires "components" to work, said "components" being organic brains in cybernetic bodies, while also forcing his zealously loyal follower Sunstorm to use his fire powers to thaw him out from the ice that freezes him, apathetic to the fact that using too much power will kill Sunstorm. Under The Fallen's servitude, agents of the Underbase deceive organic aliens of all kinds into becoming "components" under false promises, and then use them as batteries, painfully electrocuting them in the process. When Cyclonus, Darkwing and Crasher arrive to find and save their human friends, The Fallen attempts to kill them, sparing them only because Crasher's unique brain allows her to be used as a "component". Once the multiversal portal was ready, The Fallen sends his servants to inspect the universes it leads to, and if they're not negative-polarity universes, he demands the portal be shut down until the next trial, permanently trapping his servants on the other side and showing no concern for their lives even if they're killed. Even in the Mirror Universe, The Fallen proves that he will remain an irredeemable monster whenever he manifests himself in the multiverse, appalling even his own troops.
- Prime Wars Trilogy:
- Overlord is a powerful Decepticon warrior who's been holding a grudge against Megatron after he became the only Transformer to beat him in battle. When Megatronus Prime offered him a chance to gain his revenge, Overlord happily assisted him in his plan to harvest the sparks of all Cybertronians. Overlord murdered the Mistress of Flame in his quest to find Megatron and forced Hot Rod to become the new host of the Matrix of Chaos. Overlord and Rodimus Cron violently interrogated any Cybertronian for Megatron's whereabouts. He forced Menasor to watch as Rodimus shot off Devastator's limbs and snapped his neck once he got the info he needed. Once he found Megatron, Overlord promised he would make him suffer by making his death as slow as possible. Willing to help commit genocide to settle old scores, Overlord is a petty sadist who can't stand the shame of defeat.
- Unicron was once a powerful planet-eating Transformer who was destroyed by the Thirteen Primes after he attempted to devour Cybertron. Reduced to a disembodied head in space, his consciousness was contained within the Matrix of Chaos. When Megatronus planned to harvest the sparks of every Cybertronian, Overlord chose Hot Rod to become the host for Unicron's power. Now going by Rodimus Cron, Unicron assisted Overlord in torturing other Cybertronians and executed Devastator and Sludge in cold blood. After killing Victorion by ripping off her head, Unicron taunted Windblade by claiming that the Hot Rod she knew was dead. Once he learned Megatronus had the Matrix of Leadership, Unicron took full control over Hot Rod and planned to destroy the last of the Primes. When Optimal Optimus removed the Matrix of Chaos from Hot Rod's body, Unicron attempted to possess Megatron and force him to kill his allies. A god only wanting to be feared, Unicron sought only to destroy the legacy of his rival Primus.

- Starscream is the former second-in-command of the Decepticons willing to do anything for power and revenge. Abandoned by Megatron for his treasonous behavior, Starscream manipulates his loyal Seekers to help him steal the AllSpark and Vector Sigma so he can become a living god and kill all Cybertronians for his insane utopian vision, starting with his loyalists first. When defeated by Optimus Prime and imprisoned on the Ark, Starscream tampers with Wheeljack's AllSpark emitters to launch a Hate Plague upon the Autobots in the hopes that they would kill each other. His most heinous crime is when he encounters the Quintessons and gladly sells out his planet and race to save his own spark. Rebuilt as a Quintesson Judge, Starscream uses his newfound authority to declare all Cybertronians guilty of crimes against him and takes delight in massacring civilians with the enslaved War Titan Croaton as he prepares to destroy the entire universe in his final act of revenge. An Omnicidal Maniac who holds no loyalty to anyone but himself, Starscream is a threat so destructive that the Autobots and Decepticons are willing to put aside their differences to save their universe.
- Megatron X, aka the Other One, is a Megatron from an alternate universe where he took the fateful decision of murdering his former friend Optimus Prime and claiming his Matrix of Leadership early in the war. With Prime gone, Megatron X proceeded to kill all the Autobots and use the AllSpark to create his mindless army of "Perfect Decepticons". After gaining his perfect army, Megatron X exterminated his "unneeded" Decepticons and tormented the survivors Astrotrain and the Insecticons so much that they would rather flee to other universes than live under his rule. When the multiverse-hopping Megatron steals his Matrix to stop the Quintesson invasion in present-day, Megatron X pursues his doppelgänger with extreme prejudice, eventually catching up to him in the main universe. He kills Megatron with ease, calling him unworthy and a failure to his name, and relishes to repeat his genocide of Autobots and Decepticons all over again in this universe. Feared and hated by everyone, Megatron X is what Megatron would have been without honor or respect for Optimus Prime.
- Bumblebee: Shatter and Dropkick are a pair of Decepticons out to hunt down and kill Optimus Prime. Introduced torturing and murdering the Autobot Cliffjumper, the two arrive on earth where Dropkick kills a human simply for fun. Directed to the human authorities, the two claim to be peacekeepers hunting down a criminal to give them access to humanity's satellites. After capturing and torturing Bumblebee, the two murder a doctor who was helping them, revealing their intent to bring their forces down on Earth and kill every human being, not stopping until the planet is a cinder. A vicious pair of Brains and Brawn, Shatter and Dropick embody the worst of the Decepticons.
