Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Hail to you, Hrothgar! I am Hygelac’s kinsman and devoted thane; already in youth I have done many glorious deeds...

@RJ - Yeah, a hard pass for Mr. Truman [tdown]. I don't even know if the guy has any notable fictionalized depictions in pop media, which sort of makes things harder.

Abstaining on the other two choices. I would like to see what others think about those suggestions before I could make a move.

Tanaka-kun, God of Sleepyheads

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fac37e5fe2994c564c37c20e3553f7ea.jpg
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: A mini-roomba
  • Theme Song: "Utatane Sunshine"
  • Alignment: True Neutral out of laziness, leaning Good
  • Portfolio: Tends to fall asleep at random, perpetual listlessness, actually thinks he's trash for being a lazy bum, but others disagree, pretty insightful and adept at giving advice, would probably be an excellent student if he tried harder
  • Domains: Sleep, Laziness, Friendship
  • Heralds: Ohta
  • Allies: The Classical Literature Club (especially Oreki), Mako Reizei, Yoh Asakura, Totoro, Snorlax, Mordecai and Rigby, Seiichirou Kitano
  • Pities: Madotsuki, Bedman
  • Annoyed by: Robbie Rotten
  • Opposes: Merak (Sumeragi Swordsmen)
  • Tanaka is a high school boy mainly known for always being exhausted and falling asleep easily and randomly. For that reason, he has built his life philosophy around relaxing and doing as little as possible. Despite, or perhaps because of, his quirks, he has a way with attracting the interest of those around him and occasionally even their admiration for this seeming commitment to an unorthodox way of life. He also values his friends and family (even if it doesn't seem the case superficially), though he doesn't have much interest in romance, thinking it would be a bother.
  • He simply woke up from one of his frequent naps one day and found himself in the Pantheon just like that. He thought it was all just a very weird dream, so he didn't make a fuss. Learning that he was chosen to become a god did get his attention as it made him worry that it was going to be a huge bother and his relaxed days were coming to an end, but the higher gods who appointed him clarified that they wanted him to behave like he usually does. Tanaka figured it was fine in that case, but he did request that they bring in his best friend Ohta as well; he basically can't function without Ohta, who carries him from place to place when he can't be bothered and generally looks after him. His request was granted and Tanaka was finally instated as a god and Ohta as his Herald. Ohta was more surprised about the Pantheon than Tanaka, but it didn't take long for him to settle on his usual mellow demeanor.
  • Given he has elevated his lifestyle of laziness into a whole philosophy to the point of calculating his actions in order to exercise as little effort as possible, it stands to reason that he has made some friends in the Pantheon who also love nothing more than laze around all day. This circle of friends includes some "usual suspects" such as Mako Reizei and Yoh Asakura, but the one Tanaka has most in common with is Houtarou Oreki, who has his own view justifying his laziness that goes, "If I don't have to do it, I won't. If I have to do it, I'll make it quick." Tanaka finds it an admirable motto, though it saddened him to hear about the true reason Oreki holds such a mindset and he doesn't think it's healthy if it comes from such a place. Tanaka is happy that Oreki at least managed to find true friends who care about him, though he can't help but be reminded of his boisterous self-proclaimed apprentice Miyano whenever he sees Eru.
  • He doesn't always think highly of his listless self, so he has some interest in deities who used to be lazy but managed to get over that flaw, such as Mordecai and Rigby. At first Tanaka was more interested in the novelty of a big blue jay and a raccoon who acted exactly like humans, but learning about their attempts to better themselves struck a bit of a chord in him. At the moment, though, he really can't see himself working hard towards something, even though he knows he'll have to do so someday. Mordecai and Rigby have expressed some concern for the way Tanaka is living his life now, although they acknowledge it's a good thing that at least he's an above-average student. For now Tanaka just observes the odd duo going on their strange adventures (and occasionally finds himself dragged into them, which he approaches as listlessly as he does most anything).
  • Despite his personality, he doesn't seem to think that highly of deities who outright embody the sin of sloth. A particularly bad example of such deities is Merak of the Sumeragi Swordsmen, who has chosen to work for evil forces just because it's easier and is downright apathetic and callous when it comes to the lives of his underlings. It's not like there's much Tanaka can do about Merak, but obviously he has a reason to dislike those who give a bad rep to his favorite pasttime. Merak finds it mildly pitiful that they can't be friends as he thought Tanaka was a guy after his own heart, but he doesn't care that much either way.
  • When it comes to Robbie Rotten, a villain determined to preserve the laziness of LazyTown, Tanaka finds himself more annoyed by him than anything because of his antics. In a way, Robbie's hard work at accomplishing his goal totally goes against Tanaka's personal philosophy of doing as little work as one can get away with. Plus, Tanaka doesn't really see the point of making everybody as lazy as he is. He thinks Robbie is better off stopping his battle with Sportacus and just go home and be lazy on his own without engaging in something as unnecessary and laborious as changing the world.
  • Tanaka's favorite way of sleeping is outside, on the grass, on a sunny day. On different occasions while he was looking to try new, comfy places to sleep, he ran into Totoro and Snorlax dozing off and couldn't help but admire how peaceful the giant creatures looked. He also, more importantly, thought it might be very pleasant to sleep on their cushy-looking bellies and that's just what he did. Totoro and Snorlax, by all accounts, seem very tolerant of Tanaka doing this; perhaps it's the fact that Tanaka looks so peaceful while he sleeps that prevents them from taking offense.
  • He would probably spend all his time sleeping if only he could get away with it, so hearing about deities who do exactly that made him slightly envious. At least at first, because some of the deities who do that are actually quite frightening individuals. There is Madotsuki, who forever walks in her dreams and has no qualms about stabbing anything that gets in her way, and also Bedman, an assassin who kills people in their sleep. From these examples, Tanaka has arrived at the conclusion that maybe it is better to be awake some of the time, so that sleeping time will carry even more value and won't be taken for granted. Though, at the same time he also pities Madotsuki and Bedman for the external circumstances that led them to sleep all the time.
  • His unavoidable tendency to fall asleep in class is something that causes much grief to the teachers in the Elysium Academy, as well as the student council. Tanaka at first often found himself on the end of an earful for his behavior, but teachers and students soon gave up when it was clear he wouldn't change his ways and instead contented themselves with the fact that his attendance record and grades are very good. Which doesn't mean some teachers are not driven to tears and low self-esteem seeing Tanaka snooze through their classes, assuming he's bored by them.
  • He was once approached by Seiichirou Kitano, which prompted Tanaka to try to give him his wallet so the thug-faced boy wouldn't mug him. He was oddly calm about it, all things considered; he simply resigned himself to the fact that he would never win in a fight the way he is and so tried to get it over with quickly. But actually, Tanaka had dropped his wallet somewhere and Kitano was trying to give it back to him, which surprised Tanaka (still as dull-faced as ever). Tanaka related the encounter to Ohta later that day and commented on how both he and Kitano had faces which scared others despite their good hearts and how Kitano must have a tiresome life because of it. After some time, both have become good friends with Kitano.

Abstaining on Truman. Much as I like the guy, a fictional depiction of him could be suggested instead.

Got two suggestions:

  • Pfc. Gary Jasper and Pfc. Timothy Connor, Dual Deities of Anti-Infantry Combat and Anti-Structure Combat (Jasper, Jas; Connor) - The two main members of Baker's light machine gun and bazooka team, they're notably capable of suppressing large amounts of enemy infantry better than the Base of Fire Team (have both a much higher rate of fire and doing this from much longer range). And, unlike the Base of Fire Team's weapons, both the Browning M1919 and the Bazooka are a One-Hit Kill against anything short of a tank should an enemy get hit. While the bazooka team, in theory, would be more appropriate for the Anti-Armor role, in practice they're more often than not faced against enemy infantry hiding behind fortifications such as sandbags, machine gun emplacements in church towers, and even artillery gun positions, with the only instance of them engaging tanks in one mission. The only real downside they have is the lengthy reload for both the bazooka and machine gun, which leaves the team vulnerable to enemy fire.
  • Sgt. Franklin Paddock, Patron Saint of Soldiers Hailing From The Countryside (Paddock, Mr. Deathwish) - I originally nominated Ronald "Red" Daniels for this trope, but I do believe Paddock shows off this trope better, Southern accent and all. Hailing from Kansas, Paddock is a brash hothead of a soldier who is known to be a Blood Knight and someone who loves going In Harm's Way. His Establishing Character Moment is attacking an enemy gun position alone and gunning down the entire crew before the latter can react. He's also notably a bit of a Genius Ditz, correctly deducing things such as German artillery emplacements not listed on any maps and the problems in 2nd squad before Operation Market-Garden, but also doing things like hurting his hand trying to bust open an unlocked church door or having artillery fire dropped near friendly positions while targeting a fleeing enemy.

Princess Kaguya, Goddess of Impossible Tasks (Takenoko/Li'l Bamboo)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kaguyaghiblitvtp.png
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: Bamboo shoots
  • Theme Song: "Warabe Uta", "Inochi no Kioku"
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Born from a bamboo shoot, happily raised in the country as One of the Boys until she is made a princess, which makes her unhappy, gave impossible tasks to stave off her suitors, actually comes from the moon and wanted to experience life on Earth, can't avoid going back to the moon against her wishes
  • Domains: Women, The Country, The Moon, Happiness
  • Heralds: The bamboo cutter and his wife
  • Allies: Many Studio Ghibli deities, Amaterasu, Thumbelina, Momotaro, Merida
  • Enemies:
  • An elderly bamboo cutter found a tiny girl in a bamboo shoot. Thinking her to be a gift from the heavens, he treated her as a princess and brought her home to be raised by him and his wife. Her incredibly rapid growth got her named Takenoko by the village children, who she grew up happily with. Her adoptive father, however, had grandiose plans for her and amassed enough of a fortune to move his family to the city and become part of the aristocracy. Kaguya, as she came to be christened, was unhappy in this new world of ranks, ceremonies and restrictions, and dreamed of her home in the mountains. Adding to her sadness, she had many suitors, who all proclaimed their love for her in overwrought terms without having even met her, so she gave them impossible tasks, based on their proclamations, to drive them away. Eventually, word of her reached the Emperor, who tried taking her for himself; the traumatic event summoned her memories of when she lived on the moon and yearned to live on Earth. She also knew that the people on the moon were about to come and take her back, which she didn't want as she loved her time on Earth and her family. But they did come and, whether she wanted it or not, took her, erasing her Earth memories.
  • Although Kaguya's memories were erased, the sensation that she had lost something remained. Eventually, spurred on by a conversation with the other resident who had once gone to Earth, she rebelled against the moon people by running away to the dark side of the moon. From there, she stumbled into the Pantheon. At some point she got tired from all the running and fell asleep on a rather fluffy pile of grass, which was really the nature spirit Totoro, who didn't mind. She was then found by the Kusakabe sisters, who brought her to their temple (which, being in the country, rang a bell for Kaguya as it was similar to her childhood home on Earth). Introductions were made and the sisters explained the Pantheon to Kaguya (as well as they could, considering their young age). Kaguya found it fascinating and wished to stay as long as she could, but she thought her people might come for her soon. The Kusakabes spread the word about their new friend and soon enough, all the Ghibli deities and some others knew about her and were willing to help her. When the moon people came, everybody who sympathized with Kaguya teamed up to drive them away. None of the tricks the moon people had used before worked, so they were forced to retreat. In the aftermath, Kaguya was instated in the Pantheon as a goddess.
  • Kaguya was thus set up at her own temple with little to no danger of the moon people coming to take her away. Still, her missing memories gave her a sort of emotional hole and she felt sad much of the time. One day she was visited by the wolf goddess Amaterasu. Kaguya was rather happy to have a pretty white dog to play with, but Amaterasu had other ideas; she had Kaguya climb on her back and together they went off to her world, more specifically her adoptive parents' home. Seeing her home and parents again, not to mention their tearful reactions to her return, did the trick for jogging her memory and a heartwarming reunion was had. Then they were all brought into the Pantheon and Kaguya's parents were installed as her Heralds, with her temple turning into a replica of their home in the mountains for extra comfort. Kaguya is forever grateful to Amaterasu for helping her remember and reunite with her beloved parents. Amaterasu is only too glad to help and likes to visit and play with her once in a while.
    • One might wonder why Kaguya hasn't brought in her best friend/possible love interest Sutemaru as well. Kaguya certainly misses him very much and likely felt tempted, but Sutemaru has a wife and child and it would be all kinds of wrong to talk him into tearing himself away from his family, who surely need him much more than Kaguya does. Kaguya contents herself with her memories of him.
  • She was quickly welcomed by Thumbelina and Momotaro, who share the circumstances of their birth with her, being all born from some kind of plant. Kaguya was additionally surprised to learn about Thumbelina's own troubles with having had many prospective suitors for marriage she did not want. Fortunately, she found her happy ending when she married a fairy prince well-suited to her. Kaguya supposes it's fine then, though remains a bit mistified at how that worked out when they still barely knew each other. When it comes to Momotaro, Kaguya likes hearing about all the adventures he has gone on and play with his animal friends, who all seem fond of her. Kaguya is tomboyish enough that she feels slightly jealous that she never got to go on some great adventure, but reasons that now that she's in the Pantheon, there will surely be all kinds of opportunities.
  • Kaguya is a strong-willed girl, but she respected her parents' wishes, which is why she didn't protest too strongly when her father decided to bring her to the city and make themselves into aristocrats, despite Kaguya hating the stifling lifestyle. Still, she rebelled in some ways, as shown with how she dealt with the five men who asked for her hand in marriage. This incident in particular got her the respect of the Scottish princess Merida, who likewise got the idea of letting her three suitors try to win her hand through an archery contest, and then she proceeded to best them all with her skills. Otherwise, Merida was a lot more rebellious towards her parents than Kaguya, which got her into a lot of trouble. But even if they don't entirely agree on the subject of filial piety, they still have a lot of fun with each other since they are both big fans of the outdoors.

Cobra Bubbles, God of Embarrassing Last Names

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cobra_bubbles.jpg
  • House: Naming Convention (House of Naming)
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: His "Cobra" Knuckle Tattoos
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Portfolio: Badass Baritone and Scary Black Man Still With The Surname Bubbles (And First Name Cobra), Bald Of Awesome, Brutal Honesty, Was An Antagonist, But Just Doing His Job, Sympathetic, If Not All That Friendly, The Men in Black, Reasonable Authority Figure
  • Domains: The CIA, Social Workers, Intimidation, Investigation, Extraterrestrials
  • Herald: Shush/Experiment 324note
  • Keeping tabs on: Jumba's Experiments, any extraterrestrial activity in Hawaii, Necrozma, The Ultra Beasts, the Extraterrestrials house (especially) Roger the Alien
  • Allies: Lilo and Sitch, Agent K and Agent J, Conrad S Hauser and Snake Eyes, Mary Poppins and the rest of the Heroic Protectors Of Family, The Blorg Community, The Silencerz, the Grand United Alliance of Good
  • Headbutting Heroes with: Stan Smith and Avery Bullock
  • Enemies: Hamsterviel, Boris the Animal, Cobra Commander, Destro and the Baroness, Zim, evil and invasive aliens in general, The Child Abuse Supporters
  • Opposes: Abusive Parents on principle
  • Uncertain on: The SCP Foundation
  • Cobra Bubbles is a stern social worker and supposedly former CIA agent concerned with Lilo and Nani's relationship. While gruff and not all that friendly, he means well for her. However it's not just family environments he has to worry about, what with the arrival of the alien Stitch. Having had experience with extraterrestrials in the past, and secretly a member of a Men In Black-type organization, he becomes an important player in the strange alien occurrences in Hawaii.
  • Yes, his surname is "Bubbles". He admits it's kind of embarrassing, which is why he prefers to only be referred by his first name of Cobra. This doesn't stop him from being badass. The dude was able to convince an invading alien force to spare Earth by lying and saying that insects were an endangered species. Cobra's skill in defending the Earth shows he's a brilliant operator, and a strong asset to the GUAG.
  • If you want to be more specific on the time he saved the world, it's because he convinced them mosquitos were endangered. The fact he made such a bold-faced lie and convinced them is all the more impressive. This happened in Roswell, though in 1973 rather than 1947. However he did end up finding Bender's head buried in the ground from the incident. Having been informed of the time traveling of that Roswell incident, he let Bender's head continue his rest in the ground to avoid a nasty time paradox.
  • It's not known if the organization he works for is literally the Men in Black, but in the pantheon they are for all intents and purposes. He's keeping tabs on the House of Extraterrestrials for them. Naturally this makes him an enemy of any hostile alien, and this also includes Zim. He's not an idiot and sees past his Paper-Thin Disguise, nor does he think that "because Zim's an idiot, he doesn't pose a threat to mankind" because he's seen evidence that he can be.
  • Due to his role in extraterrestrial phenomenon and First Contact scenarios, Cobra is also working alongside the Silencerz, who are another top-secret US government that's capable of combating hostile aliens. He is also working with the Blorg Community to expand humanity's reach and eye in case of alien threats.
  • Much of Cobra Bubbles' attention in matters of the extraterrestrial are on Hawaii. By extension, this includes Alola. As such, he is on full alert when it comes to the Ultra Beasts, and especially Necrozma after their invasion there. Fortunately Necrozma has found its one true place with Nebby and the unascended Gen VII protagonist, however it still posed a threat only comparable to Jumba's greatest experiments.
  • Though he didn't have enough connections to make Shush a god, he was able to make him his herald. For those in the know, Shush was one of Jumba's experiments meant for eavesdropping. Now he's an espionage agent for the CIA, which Cobra actually still works with. He wasn't exactly pleased to learn that Avery Bullock and Stan Smith have maintained their job, however when not goofing around or distracted by their own emotions they can be surprisingly effective. He's willing to work with them, but wishes they could be more competent and often plays the Straight Man to their wacky antics.
  • He is keeping watch out for Stan because he makes sure Roger doesn't misbehave too much. Of course, he can't let Stan know he knows about Roger being an alien. On Roger, he has made it clear to him he is watching and the moment he proves himself a significant enough threat to the safety of the human race, he will tell every CIA operative of his alien nature. Any attempts Roger made at intimidating Cobra failed and has made it a point that he has tangled with worse.
    • As part of his connections to the CIA, he is an enemy of Cobra and an ally of the G.I Joes.
  • Cobra still takes his job as a social worker seriously, and as such he makes frequent visits to the House of Family, especially the Family Dysfunctions wing. Immediately he was enraged by the Child Abuse Supporters and has sworn to bring them to justice, along with destroying their faction. To start with, he's buffed support for the Heroic Protectors of Family and made it clear he's watching any abusive parent in the pantheon. Among the Heroic Protectors of Family he works the closest with Mary Poppins.
  • Cobra Bubbles might have some connection to the SCP Foundation given their closeness to the Men in Black. He's not confirming or denying that, but he does admit he is researching the extraterrestrial SCPs. So far he's only really keeping checks on SCP-1171-1. Though racist, Beauremont is a non-issue.

Jacob Luke "Jake" Long, God of Were-Dragons (The American Dragon)

  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Weredragon through Dragon Ancestry, The Hero (Knight in Sour Armor and Pragmatic Hero type), Cocky, Shirks Responsibilities But Noble And Heroic, Heroic Red Dragons, Half-Caucasian, Half-Chinese, Big Eater, Beware the Nice Ones, Protagonist Title
  • Domains: Dragons, Heroism, Teenagers, Shapeshifters
  • Allies: Lilo and Stitch, Spyro the Dragon, Harry Potter, Io, Bahamut, Crossbreed Priscilla, Ryu(Breath of Fire), Peter Parker/Spider Man
  • On good terms with: Benevolent members of the House of Otherness, most dragons really
  • Friendly Rival: Danny Phantom
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Daenerys Targaryen (enemies with TV incarnation), The Dovahkiin
  • Enemies: Acnologia, dragon hunters in general, Tiamat, Ripto, The Sorceress, Melkor, Smaug, Aerys II Targaryen, Voldemort, Kaido
  • Jake Long is an at first unassuming Chinese-American teenager living in New York. In truth, he's a fire-breathing dragon who's job is to protect a secret world of magical creatures. The first American Dragon, he is said to be The Chosen One, though as a slacker teen he has a lot to learn. He gets it from his mom and her father. Normally he's in human form, but can transfer into a dragon.
  • The Weredragon trope was considered for Acnologia, however Jake decried this choice since Acnologia is a depraved beast who despises dragon and human alike. The fact that he hunts dragons only increased the American Dragon's ire towards him. It was Lilo and Stitch who ultimately proposed he gets the trope, as they had teamed up to deal with Morpholomew/Experiment 316.
  • Jake's ascension was a boon to the Otherness house, due to his role in guarding and protecting the magical creatures of an unseen world, though it remains taxing on his school life. Harry Potter has helped fill in some of his time protecting the magical world so he doesn't exhaust himself. Jake's travels eventually led him to meet another New York superhero, Peter Parker, who can relate to the stress of his role as Dragon Guardian given his own bad luck and responsibilities being a superhero.
  • The American Dragon wasn't happy to learn there were a number of fantastic racists who would want to see him dead. Ripto hates dragons in general, even ones with a human form. Voldemort considers Jake Long both a muggleborn and a "filthy half-breed". None of them revolted Jake as much as the Sorceress, who's plan of becoming immortal involves ripping off the wings of baby dragons. He is also an enemy of Kaido, due to being a Weredragon who's desire to spark the biggest war the world has ever seen is insane.
  • Jake is against dragon hunters by principle, and hopes the wish to destroy them all will mean the Huntsclan won't enter the pantheon. However he makes an exception for the Dovahkiin, at least to a degree. Despite his memetic hatred of dragons, the Dovahkiin only goes after malicious dragons and not ones outside the The Elder Scrolls verse as he doesn't have the same dreaded factor. He does have bad experiences with dragons as a whole so he only works with Jake to counter-act evil dragons. He'll be there if and/or when the Dark Dragon arrives.
  • As nobody knows where said Dark Dragon comes from, Jake wondered if he was a pupil of Melkor. Melkor claimed he was behind his turn to darkness, which was believable, but eventually his vanity led him to boast he is the progenitor of all dragons and that he is Jake's rightful ruler. Io stepped in and informed that other than possibly having a role in the Dark Dragon he's full of it. Jake naturally opposes someone as malignant as the first Dark Lord, and came to recognize Io as the true progenitor of dragons. He and Bahamut were proud to see Jake managed to make it to the pantheon.
  • There were a number of evil dragons like Tiamat or Smaug that Jake considers a threat to the magical world, however there are more benevolent, neutral or less bad dragons who considered him a great addition to their sub-house. Even Bowser was pleased, and in spite of sometimes fighting Jake Long when he uses magic for evil purposes like kidnapping the Sprixies they sometimes work together, especially when someone proves Eviler than Thou. Jake's a more straight ally with Spyro the Dragon.
  • His Dragon Ancestry was a point of interest for the Targaryens. Jake theorizes that their association with dragons and unique royal abilities are because Valyrians have actual dragons in their family tree. He wasn't happy around the likes of the Mad King Aerys, who in his delusions believed that burning down King's Landing with wildfire would have him reborn as a dragon. His daughter Daenerys was more level-headed and impressed by Jake, however the American Dragon is careful with her as while she has good intentions she can be...ruthless. Her TV incarnation's Face–Heel Turn has made that version an enemy of Jake Long.
  • He and Danny Phantom are rivals, albiet friendly ones. Other gods have noticed the comparisons: they're half-otherworldly beings who can shapeshift to that form, teenage superheroes and they help deal with supernatural/otherworldly threats. A simulation was made to determine in a no holds-bar fight who'd win. The simulation concluded Danny would make the winning strategy of overshadowing Jake and blasting him into a ghost.
  • Jake would rather not mention the time his grandfather wanted to hook him up with a younger version of his mom when he time traveled back to 1986. Marty McFly and Philip J Fry said that "it could've gone worse". He got Marty, but when taking a look at Fry's trope he felt a bit queasy and reaffirmed not wanting to mention said incident.
  • —>"He's cool he's hot like a frozen sun. He's young, he's fast, he's the chosen one."

A little update so far. I'm thinking about what Gregory and Paula would think of Lisbeth Salander.

I'm also considering having Paula interact with Alicia Huberman, but is there any way to make it work other than the fact that they share the same actress?

Gregory and Paula Alquist Anton, Dual Representatives of Gaslighting (Gregory: Sergis Bauer [his real name])

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gaslight_9216.jpg
Gregory (left) and Paula (right)
  • Potential House: Causes of Madness
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: Aunt Alice’s jewels
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil (Gregory), Neutral Good (Paula)
  • Portfolio:
  • Domains: Abuse, Insanity, Manipulation
  • Heralds: Nancy, Miss Thwaites, Elizabeth, Brian Cameron
  • Allies:
  • Enemies:
  • Pitied by: B.J. Blaskowicz (for Paula)
  • Paula Alquist is a young girl who lived with her aunt, a famous opera singer named Alice Alquist sometime during the Victorian London era. One day, the aunt is suddenly murdered and robbed by the mysterious Sergius Bauer, leaving Paula alone. Years later, while studying abroad for the ten years since the incident, she would meet a man named Gregory Anton (unaware of the fact that he’s actually Sergis), whom she would eventually marry. After returning to London, Paula began to notice strange goings-on: missing pictures, strange footsteps in the night, and gaslights that dim without being touched. It turns out that her husband had tormented her in order to send her to an asylum and obtain her aunt’s jewels. This situation brought the attention of Scotland Yard inspector Brian Cameron, who has known known Alice Alquist since his childhood; seeing Paula brought his interest in solving the case regarding Alice’s murder. After recovering her sanity, Paula would end up turning the tables as she psychologically tortured Gregory, now bound to a chair, tantalizing him with the suggestion that she might free him so he can escape arrest, trial, and execution, before calling in Cameron to arrest Gregory and take him away.
  • Upon reviewing their story, the Court of the Gods felt that they are a perfect fit to represent the Gaslighting trope, especially considering the fact that it named the trope in the first place, and it was a matter of time before the couple’s presence was brought to the court. Paula was understandably concerned with having to share the title with her husband given what she had to go through. At Paula’s request, Brian was also brought in as one of their Heralds, particularly to keep Gregory in check.
  • Paula’s experiences with Gregory led her to be sought out by other people who have had similar experiences. One person that she became allies with is Susy Hendrix, another woman who had experience being tormented by nefarious plotters. Paula admired Susy for being able to defend herself against Roat despite her blindness while Susy is happy that Paula was able to stand up against her abusive husband. The two swear to get behind each other’s back if another situation like this happens to either of them.
    • She did not expect a non-human animal like Simba to relate to her, but he ended up being another of her allies. Both left their homes when their parental figures were killed, traumatizing them, and only came back as adults. They thought the killers were trustworthy when in truth they were manipulating them psychologically for their own ends, but in the end managed to see them for what they are.
    • She also didn’t expect to ally herself with Linkara, who had his own experience with gaslighting as he recalled the time that Mechakara tried to gaslight him into suicide by making him think he was the father who abused and sacrificed his child for their dark god (the Magic Gun was that child). Adora and Catra also sympathize with her as they were reminded of being gaslit by Weaver.
    • While B.J. Blaskowicz is not connected to gaslighting, his mother, Zofia, was a victim of abuse from his father, Rip, who only married her just to get her family's fortune. As such, he has shown sympathy towards Paula, seeing as she had to deal with an abusive husband.
  • Some people couldn’t help but compare Gregory to Uncle Charlie as they both have a preference towards strangulation when it comes to committing murder, altough their motives are different; Gregory is just greedy while Charlie thinks he's ridding the world of scum. Charlie and Gregory also seem to have intense feelings for their marks (the younger Charlie and Paula respectively). When Paula first encountered Uncle Charlie, she at first thought he was Detective Cameron, but it wasn’t until he attempted to strangle her that she realized otherwise. Fortunately, her own allies were also there to clear up this situation.
  • Paula’s experiences with Gregory led her to oppose most other gaslighters in the Pantheon, such as Mother Gothel (for her attempts to manipulate Rapunzel) and Thomas Wake (who was a gaslighter against Winslow). She also doesn’t like Akio Ohtori for being a domestic abuser, not helped by the fact that Gregory used to serve as Akio’s high priest before his ascension (and the fact that they seem to be on good terms with each other).

@ wootzits: Magnolia Arch is a Lunarian who dedicate themselves to combating the Ba'als and one of the last thanks to a powerful Ba'al attacking Fort Lune and killing many of her kind. Magnolia sought to hunt it down and ended up crashing on Luxendarc. After everything, when it came time for Magnolia to return she actually makes the decision to stay on Luxendarc instead.

@ RJ: Uriel Septim VII and Martin Septim have the blood of the Dragon God Akatosh in them like the rest of the emperors before them. Though they cannot change into a dragon Martin did become an Avatar of Akatosh as a final gambit to stave off Mehrunes Dagon when he manifested on Tamriel. While he did defeat the Daedric Prince and close shut the jaws of Oblivion, he wouldn't be around to see the fruits labor.

Hooks and Crooks is taken by Thresh but not too long ago it was brought up that League of Legends has an over-representation problem with many profiles to its not and not much holding up in current quality in addition to the tropes potentially going to better examples. As such, I'd like to propose a replacement. Feedback is appreciated.

Sweepers for Hooks and Crooks

  • Reasoning: Created by the Heads of the World, they are a cannibalistic group of cyborgs living in the City's Backstreets and Outskirts. A Sweeper's remaining flesh underneath their metal suits are liquidated and should it run out, they cease to function and die. To sustain themselves, they use their hooks connected to fuel tanks on their backs and melt the target into the very same liquid to refuel. They feed in a period of time called the "Night in the Backstreets" (tldr think The Purge but it lasts for 80 minutes).

All my fault, you say...? What fault? I daresay it's all thanks to me.

@Wootzits Kubo has connections to the Moon and is also a child like Kaguya as well as the whole 'parents want their child to join the Moon' thing although Kubo had the opportunity to rebel and use The Power of Love to change his grandfather's mind. I suspect he will be saddened by her fate since she was forced into it and her Earth memories erased.

Now that the entire League of Legends over-representation was mentioned, I think it would be appropriate for me to mention which of those profiles I want to rework, that being Illaoi, Mordekaiser and Fiddlesticks. The rest however can get the boot.

[up] I might rework Ahri in the future. Don't mind everyone else getting the boot.

I don't get how that would be all that relevant for Jake personally

With League of Legends, we should also consider who would fit in a group profile

Where does Soap Within a Show go?

[up]Theatric Production is where Show Within a Show resides under the The iCarly Cast , but that seem more about production than the product. Forms of Media and Storytelling (I lean to the latter) are other options.

Also, Applejack's moving to an Honesty related trope, asking what took so long. Instant Knots is now free.

UPDATE: Meals is giving an overly long warning. It's the one house that allows tropeless deities as "God(dess) of X food", which now seems the time to ask if this should or could continue given it's filled up the house and will continue to do so if more tropeless food deiites are allowed. Making a sub-house for tropeless title seems...in poor taste (pun can't not be unintended). Thoughts?

Bottom-Posting. I have a profile to post but I'd rather save everyone's time instead of being left out as the last post of the page.
