Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Stupid Question Time: When the Trope Pantheons rules say:

Every troper new to the Pantheon is barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.

. . . does "ascended at least two profiles" include ascending a rework? Similarly, are Dominions included under "profiles"? I just want to check if I'm able to vote now.

RJ-19-CLOVIS-93[tup] to Palpitine and Padame (assuming my vote counts).

DoodSlayer136 (Crash Bandicoot) What's his interaction with Sonic the Hedgehog?

CrimsonShark (Apocalypse): You think you can explain why some of the people in his allies list (Gilgamesh, Ramases, et cetera) are allies? Similarly, can you explain why some of his enemies (Zia Rashid, Chun-Li, et cetera) are his enemies? I'm particularly interested in Dracula and the Emperor of Mankind.

[up] I think I can answer that. It’s a Betta draft, so it’s the old profile without and updates. Some of the earlier profiles are, by today’s standards, of poor quality, sometimes there wasn’t much rhyme or reason to certain allies or enemies. As for the Dracula, they tried killing each other in the Marvel Comics. A number of Apocalypse's descendants, Clan Akkaba, got tired of him and teamed up with Dracula so they could kill him.

[down] my previous answer is still the same. The X-Men aren’t even enemies with Apocalypse anymore.

[up][up][up]To question 1: Again, this is why I'm proposing a FAQ.

Anyways, gonna try to nominate...

The Bloody Battlers, Divine Enforcers of the Chunky Salsa Rule

Reasoning: A very important mechanic in this game is "executions", a defeat that does not knock out a player allowing them to get back up using their remaining lives like it normally would, but instead kill them. The aforementioned executions are beheadings, impaling, vaporizing, ripping apart, blowing up heads, exploding into chunks of flesh and bones, freezing, burning and some others I probably forgot.

The importance part comes from the fact that it would be very tedious and draining to take away your opponents lives one-by-one, and is much easier to just insta-kill them on knock-out.

Actually, I do have to ask why can't Malenia be considered for the position? If they do add DLC can't we just adjust anything on her entry that needs to be adjusted?

[up] By position, you mean a spot for the Pantheon, provided Malenia finds a trope, I presume?

Let me get straight to the point, all you do in the Pantheon is simple; you find a character you want to ascend, and then you find a trope that's not taken before you suggest a nomination for the former representing the latter. I usually write my nominations like this...

  • [Insert Character Name + Hyperlink with Native Series] — [Insert Trope]
    • [Insert reasons for why the character is a good example of the trope]

Hope this helps.

On a further note, while I have no objections to an Elden Ring suggestion ATM, I am maintaining some caution as it does seem to be rather popular and there's a lot going on in the game. You'll have to provide a really good reason for why a certain character fits the trope as well as staying true to their characterization, personality, and motives in case you do get to write a profile draft.

Finally, if your first suggestion is given a [tdown], you can choose to find another trope for suggestion. Keep in mind, though, that you only have three tries. If all of them are met with a [tdown], then you will be unable to nominate said character for presumably a long period of time.

@WiseMan — It's best to be as direct and quick about your ideas as possible. Like I said, just use the template I provided for suggesting someone for the Pantheon. From what I've seen, you and CardboardBot have padded out the previous two pages about ideas with little to no progression. While you two likely didn't mean it, you annoyed me and (presumably) a few others who wanted their profiles done or their drafts responded to with suggestions.

Don't worry, I'm not mad at you. The point is that you need to be careful and mindful of previous posts by others and that when you're posting something in the forums, it's recommended you sum up your thoughts and ideas as quickly and as directly as possible, preferably in just one post.

[up][up]It's called hype prevention. There is a sandbox that details it clearly but to keep it precise, the Pantheon has had its fair share of "hype" profiles, profiles created during the series' lifespan that were made out of excitement of the new product while it was not finished. As a result, these profiles are barebones compared to some and have incomplete characterization, especially if say, the game is still live. Examples include profiles from Overwatch, RWBY, Undertale, Persona 5 and Shin Megami Tensei.

This also teaches users here to be patient, past Pantheon (and arguably current Pantheon) has issues trying to contain excitement for the next product, especially if it is still ongoing and new revelations crop up during development. This makes the profile incomplete until the series ends. For reference, during my rework for Bloodborne, I noticed that some of the profiles openly vilify themselves despite what the lore points out ingame, text such as from Maria, Ludwig, Gehrman and the Great Ones had flavor text pointing them as villains, all of which were made before The Old Hunters came around. This is proof that the Pantheon still has cases of profiles not matching with the story/made before certain lore or character development came along.

@Cardboard — [tup] for the Bloody Battlers, if mainly because your post for the Mandela Catalogue does show some promise and your reasoning for Chunky Salsa Rule is... reasonable.

I'll be blunt, considering this might be the last time I can say this, but I need only two more approvals for Sarah.

Also, I'm looking for suggestions for Apocalypse seeing as I barely got a response. Any suggestions are fine, but I'll repeat the specifics; any hardcore social Darwinists, those who champion evolution and the strong, those that see the weak as pathetic and not worth attention, those who led a life full of hardships and pain that led them to become a villain or someone with a Might Makes Right mindset, those who have been seen as a Godby any populace (he also pretended to claim he was a deity depending on religion and geography), and anyone who was empowered by technology and has to jump between different bodies to keep themselves alive.

alright well, lets see if I can come up with a good thing.

Malenia, Blade of Miquella and the Goddess of Handicapped Badasses

Reasoning: Well despite Malenia missing an arm, her feet, the ability to see, and is in a constant fight against the Scarlet Rot she is considered to be the World's Best Warrior, managing to (arguably) beat her brother Radhan despite him having everything she's missing on top of powerful Gravity Magic. In fact when the player challenges Malenia she's still strong enough to be this game's Superboss despite having woken up from a decades-long coma.

Oh and for added bonus, she's one of three Demigods that are considered candidates to ascend to Godhood.

[up]I already said my reasons but [tdown] for Malenia. Its best we wait until Elden Ring is fully finished and as said by others here, its best to be cautious when more development of the character is possible. I have a sneaking suspicion the DLC might be announced at late November/December.

[up][up] Baiken of Guilty Gear has that trope already, even if the profile is bleh rn, and also given that said DLC has been speculated to focus on her twin brother, Miquella, it would be better to wait imo. You're getting the hang of making proper suggestions, though.

Added some stuff, and I think the profile would be put on today anyway. Any last feedback or is it ready?

  • The American Revolution was known as a grand historical event marking the independence of the American colonies from the British Empire. In spite of the odds being against the revolutionaries, the Americans managed to endure and eventually overcome British enforcement and military until eventually gaining the decisive victories to finally earn freedom from the British. While the Americans at the time were more than proud of what they earned from defeating the British army, their revolution wasn't exactly spotless or devoid of an ugly side, with some people having their own just reasons to oppose the American Revolution. In one particular timeline, it would be up to the work of the journalists of the Pennsylvania Gazette to cover the events of the American Revolution, from the struggles the Americans took to overcome their enemies' numbers, and the experiences of the citizens living through such an uncertain time, whether Revolutionary or Loyalist.
  • While the likes of all of them had lived through the American Revolution and experienced the beginning of a new nation, it was relatively uncertain how they would live their lives after America had started making its own new laws and beginning to act with newfound independence. For this occasion, however, circumstances ended up causing them all to have their fates entwine once again in a place that was very much not America. Highly confused at their new destination, they were even more befuzzled at their new designation as "gods". Learning that they were chosen to be part of the Pantheon for a "trope" they were suitable for, mainly for seeing toward the struggles of both allies and enemies alike, they were all much too humble about their new position until understanding that their new roles only gave them special immortality and the ability to interact with people of many other worlds, even those of similar or different American histories, or of other countries and planets entirely. While unsure at first, the opportunity to see how America could branch out and expand from its independence, on top of many curiosities about their new world had them determined to take advantage of their position.
  • The four of them were delightfully surprised at Benjamin Franklin's presence in the Pantheon, and for such a long time compared to them as well. Before trying to pester him with Benjamin's knowledge of the Pantheon, they wanted to know how the Pennsylvania Gazette was going in the Pantheon. After telling them all sorts of stories about what happened as America went on past the Revolutionary War, on top of interesting stories like what his other incarnations did or spookier tales like the Headless Horseman, apparently being a Hessian soldier in the Revolutionary War who lost his head from a cannonball, Franklin told them that while the Revolution was long over, perhaps there could be potential for making news of all the revolutions and fights for freedom in the Pantheon and the mortal realms around them. James and Sarah decided to take the opportunity to highlight the struggles, merits, and at times, mistakes, of those who seek liberty and freedom from higher powers. Henri decided to go along with them to explore the Pantheon, and Moses, while having his own plans in the Pantheon, decided that he could afford some time to help them out.
  • Trying to get used to the new standards of journalism in the Pantheon, they decided to look for notable journalists to take notes from. They've met with Lois Lane, one of the most well-known reporters and journalists out there, while trying to learn about Superman, a devout representative of American liberty and justice and learned much from her. They've also been acquainted with the likes of April O'Neil and Jade, both also getting into dangerous situations for a good scoop and story, as well as Tintin, though his status as a reporter may seem to be an excuse to travel the world a lot. As for the French-speaking Henri, he doesn't mind that about him at all, not to mention that Tintin has little problem speaking with Henri, with Tintin being Belgian as a bonus. While intimidated by the sheer scale and threat of the places they've went through, not that the four people from the Revolutionary War were unfamiliar with danger, they've found new reasons to keep at the job when they feel like it. James and Sarah particularly want to make stories of how revolutions and rebellions go out in the Pantheon, whether under territory occupied by other gods or even among the other deities themselves, and Henri is happy to go along for the sights.
  • It was no surprise that the members of the Pennsylvania Gazette were happy to see George Washington in the Pantheon, and trying his best to fit in with the newer civil rights, considered how they did have issues with his treatment of Native Americans and black slaves back then, and do note how Washington did provide for a good example for a president back then. They also met an unfamiliar face who was also from the era of the Revolutionary War, known as Ratonhnhaké:ton, or Connor. According to him, in his own America, he was a revolutionary and Assassin who worked alongside the other Founding Fathers, and did managed to earn the respect of some of them as well, which was why Washington was able to introduce the Gazette members to Connor. More interestingly, the America he helped to achieve independence was also conspired against by an organization known as the Templars, who were aiming for keeping America a colony for the sake of imposing their ideals of order. It's gotten both James and Sarah curious of whether people similar to the Templars were trying to influence the sides, even though they aren't too familiar with the feud of Assassins and Templars.
  • The four deities gained a lot of interest in the USA's Civil War, since one of the major causes of the war was about the abolition of African-American slavery, which ended in the Union's favor and would become a major stepping point for racial equality in America, even if the struggle for said equality still continued on, as people like Tom Robinson can speak about it, whom they pity for still suffering undeserved judgment, and have worked with Atticus Finch to know how to handle similar situations better. Moses in particular was happy to see America make such progress, even though it had a tragic cost of so many lives to have the African-American slaves be able to experience real liberty and freedom. As expected, neither Moses nor the rest of the groups have any positive sentiments toward the likes of Calvin Candie and Stephen and similar slavers, especially not Henri either given his time as an indentured servant. They've also been supportive of other African-American deities who had to live with harsh racial discrimination, whether before or after the Civil War, especially Sethe who suffered such a traumatic life as a slave that it pushed her to murder an infant daughter of hers in order to "protect" them from slavery. While they've squirmed at the thought of such a bloody murder, they'd like to be supportive of Sethe recovering from said events and to be helping out her relatives.
    • They also really admire both Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses Grant for what they've done to push for the Union victories that won the black Americans their deserved freedom, never mind the achievements of his more fantastical incarnations in other works. As for a dissenter who believed that the blacks didn't deserve such freedom, Colonel Benjamin Cameron, the members of the Pennsylvania Gazette have not much else but disgust for the white supremacist, let alone the Ku Klux Klan he's associated with. While James wants to give Cameron a piece of his mind, Moses said that it really isn't worth trying to change his mind, given that his men would endanger them if they poked at him too much, and that they're better off staying away from each other. Moses is still worried about the likes of the KKK otherwise, since Moses does want to practice teaching since his original plan before ascension was to build a school for other blacks like him to gain a good education, and is anxious about them getting in the way of his attempts to become a better teacher in the Pantheon.
  • As for other presidents besides Washington, Lincoln, and Grant, they've had overall pleasant meetings with the likes of Theodore Roosevelt, James especially being interested in following his example. As for his distant cousin, Franklin Roosevelt, while they respect how he led America through another war, World War II specifically, looking into the events in detail led them to criticizing him for how he treated Japanese-Americans in Executive Order 9066, not letting such details get past them. They've also been concerned about how some presidents like Lincoln or John F. Kennedy were assassinated. After that, they've found info on other presidents to be more questionable. They know Nixon's Head isn't a real accurate representation of the Nixon back in American history, not that they'd know too much about the real deal anyway. As for the more fictional American presidents in the Pantheon, they're not happy with either Frank Underwood nor Funny Valentine for being more oppressive presidents that they think go against America's ideas, not that said presidents deem the Pennsylvania Gazette members to be any importance to their status and reputation.
  • They've met many patriots of America that vary in opinions and approaches to defending America's identity as a symbol of freedom, some completely admirable like Steve Rogers aka Captain America, the type of person both James and Sarah can agree to be an ideal defender of the country and its values, and they respect the sheer bonds and strength the Broforce have. They despise the Enclave given that their regime in their opinion spits in the face of the American liberty they've seen revolutionaries fight for, as much as they pity the background they came from. Another disagreeable patriot of America they've heard about was Steven Armstrong, who found his America to be too corrupt to leave alone, wanting to uproot it entirely for the purpose of letting the strong get a chance at making a better system. While their opinions on him vary a bit, with James seeing where he's coming from but still disagreeing with his overall plan, and Sarah thinking that he's lost his sanity entirely, these people from the times of the Revolutionary War disapprove of Armstrong's ambitions. They also tried to speak with some soldier named Jane Doe but looking closely at his profile and "feats" made them decide to leave that guy alone despite his extreme patriotism.
    • They've also known some dissenters of the democracy America wanted to build up, if not of democracy in general. On one end was Lonnie Machin, also known as Anarky for his advocation of anarchy over democracy, claiming that democracy would only result in constricting corruption and problematic societal injustices that ostracize free-thinking minorities and independent parties. Sarah tends to be most vocal on disagreements with him knowing the kinds of savagery that revolutionaries without restraint can do, and seeing little benefit in anarchy itself. On the opposite end of Lawful to Chaotic spectrum was Judge Dredd, who comes from a rather bleak world where he patrols Mega City One, and finding democracy as inept at combating social issues due to how divisive democratic populations can be, and like Anarky, funnily enough, sees democracy as unable to handle corruption well, let alone crime. While James is intimidated by the man, he's more vocal on criticizing Judge Dredd's views on democracy, even if his crime-filled city gave him some justification for them.
  • Given that Henri was adopted by Marquis de Lafayette back before they ascended, he and his friends decided to look into the history of France, and a topic they were at first interested in only to be horrified at later on was the French Revolution. While James thought they had the right idea with overthrowing the monarchy, the execution of the king and queen along with other associates, along with the Reign of Terror that followed, not even he had any desire to justify or excuse their unhinged pursuit of liberty. Sarah unsurprisingly squirmed at the idea of such a terrible raid happening to people like her, and Henri was terribly saddened by the cruelty that Marquis de Lafayette had to go through as a result, though glad that he and his wife and son survived the aftermath. Despite that, Henri's rather shaken about the idea of going through all of that madness with Lafayette, and the others are determined to not let such violent revolutions like that take place if they're able to help it. They've given much sympathy to Marie Antoinette due to her being a victim of the French Revolution, seeing past the bad reputation the French citizens at the time gave her (not that they're fond of the incarnations of that they are as bad as they claim), and finding her fate undeserved. More surprisingly, they met another member of the Assassin Order who was involved in the French Revolution, Arno Dorian, whose adoptive father was not only a Grand-Master of the Templar Order, but was killed by an usurping Templar Order member that brought about the worst parts of the French Revolution in his world, something that boggles minds like Henri's especially when thinking about the Templar Order's opposition to the American Revolution in comparison.
  • Noting all of the different counterparts of the USA in the Pantheon, the members of the Pennsylvania Gazette often speculate if their America will be something like the America known by "real-life history", which is considered the most plausible occurence, they also carry on some of their own expectations. James for one would be interested in America that stands up for its own and other similar countries' freedom, Sarah mainly hopes that their America would focus on improving its own standards, rights, and diplomacy, and Henri was excited of the idea of the country having their own ninja turtles, of all things. On a similar note, learning of Hetalia's America in the Pantheon led to initial scoffing at a man that supposedly represented stereotypes of the USA. Then the three of them starting arguing on their interpretation of what a "personification" of America would be, with Moses staying out of the discussion but letting their squabble continue out of mild amusement.
  • Some of James, Sarah, Henri, and Moses' more wild experiences in the Pantheon have been pursuing the thefts of Carmen Sandiego. While Carmen Sandiego is from a future era relative to them, Carmen Sandiego is infamous for using time travel to go back and steal things from history, changing it in the process. She's done this to America, messing with the Revolutionary War's history, which resulted in a timeline where America was made to remain a colony to Britain. The members of the Pennsylvania Gazette decided to join in on the pursuit of Carmen Sandiego for this reason, not that Carmen is concerned about them trying to play in her game. In fact, she's rather interested in the idea of people of an older era of time pursuing her and going through not only different cultures unfamiliar to them, but different time periods as well.
  • Their encounters with Carmen Sandiego got the four deities to look into alternate timelines where America Is Still a Colony. Overall, they don't seem too fond of them given that nothing notably positive came out of those from what they've observed, as if to affirm the idea that America was better off independent. Even Sarah is of conflicting opinions and unsure doubts about those timelines, but disappointed to not be able to look more deeply into them. One of their more interesting observations, however, was with Britannia, where America lost the Revolutionary War because of Benjamin Franklin defecting, and Britain losing its presence in Europe to Napoleon, resulting in the British Empire being centered in North America. While they don't look highly upon the nation's cruel ruler, Charles zi Britannia, they're not sure what to think about Lelouch vi Britannia, who was responsible for liberating Britannia from Charles. While they understand if not approve of the cause of Lelouch's rebellions, the drastic and extreme measures he took to dismantle the monarchy, and all of the violent atrocities all around make him and Britannia a controversial subject among the group.
  • Native Americans were involved in the war, if mainly on the British side since safety with the British was more assured than with the colonist Americans, and their experiences with said Native American tribes only affirmed this for them. Sarah especially was distressed at how Shawnee chief Cornstalk and his son were unjustly executed by patriots to the point where she left the rest of her friends back to England for a while. In the Pantheon, her sentiments towards injustice towards Native Americans haven't changed, and if anything, she's left depressed by how Native Americans were treated poorly by colonists long after the Revolutionary War. The others do share in her sympathy, and they've been staunch allies of other Native Americans in the Pantheon, especially Pocahontas, and likewise, against those who would oppress them or think little of them, as Governor Ratcliffe had.

Okay here's my second draft for Frisk' rework, again I'm searching for ideas like:

  • Angela and Roland, since I don't know much of them
  • How Frisk would react to Gensokyo and its people
  • Six and her more morally grey actions
  • The Higurashi Deities and all the suffering inside that time loop
  • And any new ideas you have

I'm having trouble catching up with these posts. When the thread gets active, it really gets active. I also have a proposal at the end of this post.

@r-lock256

@SailorVenus372

@CardboardBot - The Mandela Catalogue
  • Re-suggesting The Thing as beings who shapeshift, kill and replace people
  • On your next draft post, it would be handy to list the types of allies, enemies and those between that could interact with these beings that could work for your profile. Please take a look at the other profile when they suggest for interactions.

@Necromancer10
Can't think if those who steal for the trill so I'm going with the next best suggestions.
  • Criminal Mind Games and For the Evulz
    • Edward Nigma/The Riddler - "Sometimes, he steals purely for the financial gain and only leaves riddles because of a psychological compulsion that he cannot defeat. However, in other stories he just wants to see if he can leave a clue and still get away with his crimes."

@JNHZ31161 & @M-95
What I do when I'm not familiar with a character is to go to their Wiki/Fandom page, skim their history and go to their "Personality" section as it is the best assessment of whether or not they could get along with a character I'm more familiar with and currently working on.

If I get ideas about your suggestions, I'll DM you.

@CrimsonShark
  • Charles zi Britannia was mentioned as the previous title holder. While Charles views himself as superior and uses Social Darwinist as a façade, ultimately he wants an Assimilation Plot so that he can make a world without lies.
  • The Decepticons might believe this
  • Vegeta former believes this
I'll come back to this one if I have more ideas because I feel like this guy would have lots of rivals and enemies.
@DoodSlayer136

I'm currently working on another profile (which is the Detroit Android Protagonists) but I'm going to propose this early to reserve him and I've already asked other Tropers if I can work on it.

  • Jesse Pinkman - God of Profanity for Emphasis - Jesse is a former student in Walter White's chemistry class who became a small-time methamphetamine user, manufacturer, and dealer. Now in his mid-20s, Jesse became Walt's business partner in the meth trade and suffered a series of traumatic events that led him into quitting the business all together. Jesse likes to add "bitch" to the end of every insult to the point that it's been meme'd on a lot by fans of the show and there's even a montage about it. His actor Aaron Paul said on Conan that almost every single "bitch" he said on the show was scripted, with the screenwriters precisely deciding when it would be appropriate for Jesse to say it.
  • Reason for Rework - Very underdeveloped flavor text and sparse relationship list compared to the other Breaking Bad Profiles. Lacks information of his development from the other seasons and TV movie. Overall, it needs a revamp.
If you want additional title suggestions, I'm open for it. I initially wanted to give Jesse a trope more appropriate for his character arc but it was taken by other profiles or Tropers.

Checking his character page, how about God of The Stepford Snarkers? It's not taken and no one is working on it.
To quote his entries:

  • "He's incredibly snarky and one of the funniest characters on the show, but as it turns out, he's incredibly broken and miserable and has very little to be happy for and even after he gets back together with Jordan and they start a family, he's still broken."
  • "Partly it's because he's more desensitized to the hospital environment than the young staff he works with. The rest is because, as his therapist tells him, he has a personality that craves any kind of attention, positive or negative."

@CrimsonShark

I forgot to add this on my previous post:

Even tho I would like more interactions from some of her other allies/other relations not mentioned in the other flavor texts, I think your profile is good enough to highlight who she is so, [tup] for Sarah Collins.

[up][up][up] Perhaps Kindness Button?

  • Kindness Button: Despite being an abrasive individual, Dr. Cox does have standards and when he sees someone around him cry (especially if it's because of him), he usually goes out of his way to make them feel better. When he meets Denise, an annoying paramedic who never stops talking, he gives her a "The Reason You Suck" Speech before realising that the son she kepts talking about is Dead All Along, so he softly apologises and brings around his son Jack for her to spend some time with. When he and Dr. Kelso decide to break Molly's indominable cheerfulness, they take pleasure in it until she starts to cry, and Dr. Cox immediately owns up to messing with her on purpose, and when Dr. Kelso publically nearly drives Elliot to tears, Dr. Cox responds by punching him in the face and offering Elliot some encouragement before going home to spend time with his son.

@Dr. Cox: This is my opinion, but looking at his profile, it looks lackluster enough in terms of flavor text quality to warrant deletion instead of simply trying to give out an alternate trope for him.

Speaking of Scrubs, I think putting the main characters from that show (J.D., Elliot Reid, Christopher Turk, the aforementioned Dr. Cox, Carla Espinosa, Bob Kelso, and The Janitor) in a single profile for Putting the "Medic" in Comedic would work better since Scrubs is a comedic, if at times dramatic look, at the staff of Sacred Heart Hospital, where the show is set at. Such an idea would free up Heterosexual Life-Partners and Almighty Janitor from J.D. & Turk and The Janitor respectively and their profiles also don't look that good when it comes to good profile quality. That said, I don't think I'll be able to work on it and it's more of something to see if someone good enough can work on it if others think it's a good idea.
