If not for Ferrari, Lamborghini would be the perfect alternative for an Italian exotic Cool Car.
In fiction, these impressive raging bull supercars from Italy would be the cultural icon all over the world representing wealth, excitement, and style, usually seen in the hands of the rich and the selected few, especially with West Coast rappers.
Unlike Ferrari, their models have very less restrictions and have more creative freedom in terms of usage or modifications, depending on the scenario. Or they can just simply keep its shape in factory condition just to admire its looks.
These Lamborghinis in fiction would tell the audience something about a character for its rich taste.
Otherwise known as the successor to the Murciélago and predecessor to the Revuelto.
Launched and introduced on February 28, 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Aventador LP 700-4 was available to the world as a 2012 model, effectively replacing the then-decade old Murciélago. The namesake comes from the Spanish fighting bull that fought in Zaragoza, Aragón in 1993.
New to the vehicle comes a new electronically controlled all-wheel drive system and the first ever Lamborghini to sport a seven-speed transmission. With a 690-horsepowered 6.5 L L539 V12 the Aventador is capable of reaching top speeds of over 350 km/h (217 mph). In the following years, Lamborghini has launched various models, special editions and limited-edition one-offs, like the LP 720-4 50º Anniversario as part of its golden anniversary and the higher-performing LP 750-4 SuperVeloce.
Overall, from its introduction on February 2011 to its discontinuation on September 2022, Lamborghini has produced 11,465 Aventadors (including all the variants and one-offs), nearly three times the production of the Murciélago.

El Diablo. The "devil" in Spanish.
As the successor to the iconic Countach, the Lamborghini Diablo a high-performance mid-engine supercar manufactured between 1990 to 2001. It is the first production car to ever reach 200 mph (320 km/h) but is also the last ever rear-wheel drive flagship car.
The Diablo is initially powered by with a 5.7 L Lamborghini V12 engine, capable of producing a maximum output of 485 horsepower and 428 lb⋅ft of torque, with a top speed capable of reaching 325 km/h (202 mph) and acceleration of 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. While it still retains its signature scissor doors from its predecessor, its wedge-shaped body is refined to a much smoother profile.
A revised version in 1993 called the Diablo VT far differentiates from its vanilla counterpart, that being in all-wheel drive layout. In 1995, the Diablo SV was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, reviving the Super Veloce title ever since the Miura SV from 23 years ago. While it didn't take advantage of the VT's AWD system, instead it has an increase in power, uprated to 510 hp and 428 lf⋅ft.
In time for the Turn of the Millennium, the Diablo gets a mid-cyle makeover where its notable difference is pop-up headlights replaced by fixed ones, which would wind up looking very similar to the Nissan Fairlady Z/300ZX.
The Diablo discontinued in 2001 before being succeeded by the Lamborghini Murciélago, the first ever all-wheel drive supercar.

The Lamborghini Espada is a four-seat grand tourer coupé built by Lamborghini between 1968 and 1978. Continuing the Theme Naming referring to bullfighting in Lamborghini, espada means "sword" in Spanish, referring to the sword that a bullfighter uses to kill the bull.
Designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, Gandini drew inspiration from two of his Bertone show cars from 1967, the Bertone Pirana (based on a Jaguar E-Type) and, perhaps most importantly, the Lamborghini Marzal (a car made essentially to supply Lamborghini with the idea of what a four-seater Lamborghini would look like). The Espada was initially sold alongside the mid-engine Miura and the Lamborghini Islero. The Espada and the Islero both replaced the 400 GT and had similar mechanical underpinnings, with the Espada a more visually daring alternative to the relatively conservative and discrete Islero.
During its ten years in production the car underwent some changes, and three different series were produced. These were the S1 (1968–1970), the S2 (1970–1972) and the S3 (1972–1978). Each model featured interior redesigns, minor mechanical improvements and minor exterior changes. In total, 1,217 Espadas were made, making it the most numerous and longest-running Lamborghini model until the expansion of Countach production in the mid-1980s. The Espada was also the basis for the Lamborghini Estoque, a four-door sedan concept car unveiled at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, although no production model was forthcoming as a result of it.

Tony: That's not hers and she's not rich; all I've got so far is a one-dollar retainer.
Pete: A whole dollar. And for another 20,000 you can buy one of these things. What makes a car like this so expensive?
Tony: Look at her. She's gorgeous, she's beautifully put together, and she's fast. [jumps on the car] But that's not the real reason.

Tony: [starts the car] She's Italian. [winks]

The Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car built by Lamborghini from 2003 to 2013. It is Lamborghini's second car released under Audi as a parent company, and their best-selling model at the time, with a little over 14,000 built throughout its production run. The V10 powered Gallardo has been Lamborghini's sales leader and stable-mate to a succession of V12 flagship models—first to the Murciélago (4,000 built between 2001 and 2010), then to the Aventador, being the first entry-level Lamborghini in one-and-a-half decades. Continuing Lamborghini's Theme Naming related to bullfighting, the car's name is taken from a famous breed of fighting bull bred by 18th century Spanish bullfighting breeder Francisco Gallardo; it means "gallant".
The car traces its origins to 1994, when after Automobili Lamborghini S.P.A was purchased by Megatech that year, Italdesign Giugiaro was hired to design concept cars to replace their existing cars. One of the concepts built by them was the Lamborghini Calà, built to replace the Lamborghini Jalpa and was displayed at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show. After Volkswagen AG took hold of the company in 1998, the Lamborghini Gallardo was built on the basis of the Calà and had many features absorbed from the concept car, such as the exterior design and the traditional V10 engine.
Perhaps one of the most memorable Gallardos would be highly used by the Italian state police as when used for high-speed chases, noted for its distinguished blue and white livery with the word "Polizia" on each sides. Gallardos would somtimes be used by police in London and Panama.
The last Gallardo was rolled off the production line on 25 November 2013, and it was replaced by the Huracán in 2014.

Like its facelifted predecessor, the Huracán maintains a 5.2 L naturally aspirated odd-firing Audi/Lamborghini V10, generating 602 horsepower (610 PS, alas the model name, the LP 610-4) and its engine being placed in the middle to ensure its balance and performance. Unique to the car adds start-stop system to increase the car's efficiency and it comes with an unusual firing order. Its transmission uses a 7-speed 'Doppia Frizione' gearbox, only offered in automatic transmission, Its car capable to accelerate 0-60 in 3.1 seconds with top speeds of 325 km/h (202 mph).
Throughout its production, there had been various Huracán variants:
- Huracán LP 580-2 - a low-cost derivative of the LP 610 4, detuned to 577 hp, and offered in rear-wheel drive.
- Huracán LP 640-4 Performante - a track oriented variant of the Huracán notable for its carbon fiber components and an adjustable rear wing for increased downforce.
- Huracán LP 610-4 EVO, the mid-cycle update introduced in 2019, sharing the same tech as the Huracán Performante.
- Huracán LP 640-2 STO - a track oriented variant of the Huracán Evo. STO is short for Super Trofeo Omologato.
- Huracán LP 640-2 Technica - acts as the inbetween to the EVO RWD and the track-focused STO.
- Huracán LP 640-4 Sterrato - an off-road concept of the Huracán Evo.
Following the discontinuation of the Gallardo when one unit was destroyed, the Polizia Stradale replaces it with the Huracán as its new state police car. Like the Gallardo it also comes in a blue Polizia body color.
The Huracán also saw motorsports action, with their Huracán GT3 that debuted in 2015. Another racing version has the Huracán Super Trofeo which was for the one-make Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Series.

The Lamborghini Jalpa is a sports car produced by Lamborghini from 1981 until 1988. It debuted at the 1981 Geneva Motor Show, alongside the Lamborghini LM001 concept off-road vehicle.
The Jalpa was a development of the earlier Lamborghini Silhouette (a two-door, two-seat mid-engined rear-wheel drive sports car made in small numbers by Lamborghini between 1976 and 1979) intended to fill a role as a more "affordable" Lamborghini, being much less expensive than the flagship Countach and having the same designer, Bertone. Compared to the Countach, the Jalpa was much easier to drive, having better visibility and being more tractable in heavy traffic and at slow speeds, although reviewers have noted that it had heavy steering and acceleration.
The name came from a famous breed of fighting bulls, Jalpa Kandachia, in keeping with the tradition of bullfighting-related names for Lamborghini models.
Lamborghini claimed the Jalpa could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.0 seconds and to 161 km/h (100 mph) in 19.1 seconds, Classic & Sports Car magazine quoted a 0–97 km/h (0–60 mph) acceleration time of 6.8 seconds and a 0–161 km/h time of 16 seconds for the Jalpa, and Car and Driver reported a 0–60 mph acceleration time of 5.8 seconds.
The car was also characterized by its plastic components (bumpers, air intakes and engine cover) being black and for carrying over the rectangular taillights of the Silhouette, along with a targa top body style. This was changed in 1984 when round taillights were fitted and the black plastic parts were replaced by parts in body colour. A rear wing, as with the Countach, was optional.
In 1988, after falling sales and new ownership by Chrysler, Lamborghini decided to end production of the Jalpa despite being Lamborghini's second most successful V8 car to date (after the Lamborghini Urraco), having sold 410 units. The Jalpa was the last Lamborghini to use a V8 engine until the Urus SUV in 2018.
Film — Live Action
- The Jalpa would appear as Rocky Balboa's ride in Rocky IV, one of the symbols of his better life as boxing champion. It would memorably be featured in the "No Easy Way Out" montage, where Rocky would take his whip for a ride while thinking about Ivan Drago and his moments with his friend Apollo Creed after Drago killed Creed in a match.
- There's some of the well-known Jalpas to name a few of throughout Miami Vice:
- "Phil the Shill". Yes, The One With… Phil Collins drives a white Lamborghini Jalpa throughout his dedicated episode.
- This is Martin Castillo's car in "Indian Wars" when going undercover with a drug dealer.
- There are Jalpa-lookalikes throughout the Driver series, but what stood out the most is the one in Driver: San Francisco, which is one of the 4 stolen European classics that John Tanner needs to retieve during the "It's For Charity" mission.
- Forza knows how to add a forgotten gem from Lamborghini and turn it into a sensational beauty when it would be in its Xbox One games starting from Horizon 2 up to Motorsport 7.
Lamborghini alone is already a Cool Car. They're cool enough and sold in low quantities. And Lamborghini would love to ante up its limitedness with their special limited edition bespoke models that they reach Improbably Cool Car territory. Here is a breakdown of all the limited-production models Lamborghini has produced over the Turn of the Millennium:
- Reventón (2007-2008) 35 units (20 coupés, 15 roadsters) - The Reventón is the first limited edition model. While its exterior is freshly new, it takes elements, and even its 6.5 L V12 engine from the existing Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640. Many say its overall design was inspired by "the fastest airplanes". Its interior cluster uses Thin film transistor LCD, which also displays the car's G-force. It only comes in one color, which is best as "mid opaque grey without the usual shine". Its exterior design would later inspire to produce the Murciélago's successor, the Lamborghini Aventador. The name means "burst" or "small explosion" in Spanish. Just don't ask Fuuka Reventon where she got her name.
- Sesto Elemento (2011-2012) 20 units - An extremely lightweight track toy. Its name is Italian for "sixth element", referring to the atomic number of carbon, as the car's exterior is made of a Carbon Skin. The Sesto Elemento borrows many elements from the Gallardo Superleggera, including its 562 hp 5.2 L odd-firing V10 engine. Keep in mind that it's a track-focused car, however, which means the Sesto Elemento is NOT street-legal.
- Veneno (2013-2015) 12 units (3 coupés, 9 roadsters) - The Lamborghini Veneno was introduced in 2013 to celebrate the brand's golden anniversary. Built from a Lamborghini Aventador with its 6.5 L L539 V12 intact, the Veneno would be like an "Aventator as a race car" thanks to is emphasis on its aggressive aerodynamics inspired by Le Mans prototypes, including front and rear arches, Pirelli P-Zero tyres and its signature large rear wing, connected with an LMP-style central fin. Priced at US $4 million, it was one of the most expensive production cars in the world. Unlike the Sesto Elemento, this "racing prototype" sports car is considered street-legal. Veneno is Spanish for "poison".
- Centenario LP 770-4 (2016-2017) 40 units (20 coupés, 20 roadsters) - To commemorate the 100th birthday of the founder Ferruccio Lamborghini (born April 28, 1916), Lamborghini unveiled their Aventador SVJ-based special model called the Centenario, which literally means "centenary". Showcasing its newly advanced Schizo Tech, the Centenario deploys a rear-wheel steering, allowing the car to manoeuvre the car with ease at relatively low speeds, new aerodynamic enhancements such as twin-deck splitters and electronic rear wing aids to help generate downforce. Like the Sesto Elemento, its exterior is also a Carbon Skin, but also with colored accents on its bumpers, mainly in Giallo Horus (yellow).
- Sián FKP 37 (2020) 82 units (63 coupés, 19 roadsters) - Name after the Bolognese word Sián which means a "flash of lightning", the Aventador-based Sián FKP 37 note is Lamborghini's first ever hybrid production sports car. It Aventador's 774 hp engine, but combined with 34 hp of electric motor, totalling of a whopping 808 hp. Though it's based on the Aventador, it also takes inspiration from the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio, from two years prior. Its design would later inspire the Aventador successor, the Lamborghini Revuelto. There was also a life-sized replica of the Sián in 2022 that was built out of LEGO.
- Countach LPI 800-4 (2022) 112 units - A modern-futuristic Retraux throwback of the original Countach, introduced 50 years prior. The Countach LPI 800-4 is a hybrid-electric sports car built out of a hybridized powertrain from the Sián FKP 37. Only 112 were made, and all were sold like hotcakes in under a week since its unveilng.
Comic Books
- A brief flashback in issue #7 of the DC Rebirth of Batwoman shows Kate Kane driving a super-rare Lamborghini Veneno while being chased by a helicopter.
- During the climactic De Leon race of Need for Speed (2014), Dino Brewster would don an Improbably Cool Car that is intended to be on the track, not on public roads. And his car of choice for his Epic Race is the carbon fiber-cladded Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
- Bumblebee's brash brother-in-arms (and a French Jerk, too) Hot Rod (originally a Citroën DS) scans the cool-looking black-and-orange Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4. as his new alt-mode in Transformers: The Last Knight.
- During the Training Montage sequence of Taylor Swift's music video "Bad Blood" shows her and Kendrick Lamar sitting on a holographic Lamborghini Veneno.
- Asphalt has one of every limited edition model, especially in 8 and 9. Reventón, Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sián and the Retraux Countach LPI 800-4. Given its "limited" model, it's also typically a limited event car.
- Speaking of that, the Centenario is perhaps the solidly godliest S-class car ever in 8: Airborne, being the Master of All in all of its stats. No wonder many players would rock a Centenario for multiplayer and Gauntlet. In 9: Legends, the Centenario is the S-class car for the Daily Car Loot, a daily event for farming blueprints.
- The Veneno was one of the few Lamborghinis that appeared in Cruis'n Blast. They aren't usable anymore as their license has since expired, though arcade cabinets of the game running on certain versions will still let you use the Veneno. In the Nintendo Switch version, there is an unlockable Police Cruiser, shaped similarly to the aforementioned Veneno.
- In all of its Lamborghini Expansion DLC packs of Driveclub would give you three limited models; the Reventón, the Sesto Elemento and the Veneno, all being the icons of the hypers.
- The Debos SE from FlatOut 3: Chaos And Destruction is a Sesto Elemento with Gallardo headlights and taillights from an Aston Martin DB9.
- Just like the aforementioned Asphalt, Forza also has every single limited edition model to date. To give some notable examples.
- The Lamborghini Centenario LP 770-4 takes the cake as it is the cover car of Forza Horizon 3, where you get A Taste of Power driving this extremely Cool Car around the Australian seaside. You get to drive it again during the penultimate Showcase event in "High Rise Rush".
- The Reventón has been available in most games since Motorsport 3. In particular, it's the car you get as a reward for getting Lamborghini's manufacturer bonus in Horizon 5 and has a Forza Edition version that can be obtained through the Lamborghini Miura P400's skill tree in Horizon 4. The roadster version of the car has only appeared in Horizon 1.
- The Sesto Elemento has made few appearances in the Motorpsort games, only being present in 4, 7 and Motorsport (2023), but it makes up for this in appearing in nearly every Horizon game, with Horizon 5 introducing a Forza Edition of the car.
- Added in Gran Turismo 6 is this Reventón. But more on goes with the Lamborghini Veneno in Sport, as the reward for getting at least a silver in all Driving School tests. In 7, it's an invitation-only car in Brand Central.
- Both of Pegassi's hypercars, the Zentorno and Ignus of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online represents the "Veneno-Sesto Elemento" hybrid and the Sián FKP 37 respectively.
- Lamborghinis alone are already one of the high-end supercars of Need for Speed, but you also get more of those with these limited models on the streets:
- The Reventón is Jawad's Gold Cup car in Nitro, as seen in his intro where he does some Spectacular Spinning with his car, spewing smoke and dust.
- Also, it returns in Hot Pursuit (2010), where the SCPD variant is one of the cover cars. note Both sides feature this as a Preview event, where the Reventón Roadster during the "Ultimately Open" for racers, and the so-named "Reventón Reveal" for the cops.
- Other than the Reventón, one of the Lamborghini Untamed Pack cars is this extreme track toy, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. It's featured as the car in "Rogue Element" and "Elements of Speed" event for racer and cop respectively.
- And the said Sesto Elemento would also show up in The Run. In its Nintendo versions, it ends up a the car of Matt's unnamed rival during the endgame stages.
- Finally, the then-new Veneno is one of the racer cars in Rivals. Other than this, the Movie Pack sees the return of the Sesto Elemento, released in time for the film's release.
- A giallo Lamborghini Sián FKP 37 (in complete full detail no less!) surprisingly shows up in episode 5 of Hit-Monkey.
Lamborghini's original Mighty Glacier, and the car that started the AWD revolution of the brand.
The Lamborghini LM002 is an off-road vehicle made by Lamborghini between 1986 and 1993. As one can see, the LM002 was an unusual departure for Lamborghini, a brand primarily known for high-performance super/sports cars (and formerly tractors before the split).
The LM002 traces its origins back to 1977, when Lamborghini built its first military vehicle, a prototype vehicle named the Lamborghini Cheetah, which had a rear-mounted Chrysler V8 engine, in the hopes of selling it to companies in the oil exploration and production industry. Not being successful, Lamborghini decided to develop the LM001, a vehicle that was very similar to the Cheetah, but had an AMC V8 engine.
It was finally determined that the engine being mounted in the rear, while great for super/sports cars, caused too many unfavourable handling characteristics in an offroad vehicle, and the LM002 was built with an entirely new chassis, moving the engine (now the V12 out of the Lamborghini Countach) to the front, and finally became a production model. The car was memorably dubbed the "Rambo Lambo" — not just because it looked like something John Rambo would drive, but because Sylvester Stallone himself was reportedly one of its celebrity owners.
Not to be outdone by its sport brethen, civilian models of the LM002 were outfitted with a full luxury package, including full leather trim, tinted power windows, air conditioning, and a premium stereo mounted in a roof console. In order to meet the vehicle's tire needs, Lamborghini commissioned Pirelli to supply the car with tires with custom, run-flat tread designs, both for mixed use and for sand use only.
Lamborghini announced the end of its production in 1991; while the company claimed to have received orders for around 800 cars, the complicated manufacturing process made them discontinue the car after building around 300 units, in order to focus on more profitable models.
Even after the end of LM002, Lamborghini started making all-wheel-drive versions of their sports cars starting with the Diablo VT, and the habit of making AWD cars has been their norm since Murciélago. And of course, Lamborghini would retake the idea of a luxurious SUV with the Lamborghini Urus.

The Lamborghini Miura is a sports car produced by Italian automaker Lamborghini between 1966 and 1973. With a rear mid-engined two-seat layout, the Miura is considered to be the world's first supercar; although the concept of a rear mid-engine layout in a production road car didn't start with this car (it was first seen with René Bonnet's Matra Djet, introduced in 1964), the layout since becoming the standard for high-performance sports and supercars is largely credited on the Miura. At the time of its release, it was the fastest production road car.
The Miura was originally conceived by Lamborghini's engineering team, which designed the car in their spare time against the wishes of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, who preferred powerful yet sedate grand tourers over the race car-derived machines produced by local rival Ferrari. However, when the development was revealed to Ferruccio, he approved for it to continue.
The Miura's rolling chassis was presented at the 1965 Turin Auto Show, and its prototype P400 debuted at the 1966 Geneva Motor Show. It received stellar reviews from showgoers and the motoring press alike, each impressed by the sleek styling by Marcello Gandini and the car's revolutionary mid-engine design.
Becoming Lamborghini's flagship, the Miura received periodic updates and remained in production until 1973. A year later, the Countach entered the company's lineup as the Miura's successor, which itself would become famous for introducing the "Italian wedge" design that would become the signature design for the brand.
Like most better-known Lamborghini models, the Miura was named after the Spanish fighting bull breeder.note

Originally introduced as a coupe in 2001, the Murciélago was first available in North America in 2002 and was the first new design Lamborghini had in eleven years. It also served as the first new model under the ownership of Audi.
In the following years, several variants of the Murciélago would be created. The first was a roadster variant in 2003, followed by updated versions called the LP 640 coupé and LP 650–4 Roadster. The final version of the Murciélago is the LP 670–4 SuperVeloce, notable for being powered by the final version of Lamborghini's V12 engine. The R-GT was designed as a version of the Murciélago primarily used for races and that ended up getting a few modified variants of its own. There was also a version of the Murciélago that was created to celebrate Lamborghini's 40th anniversary along with a few other limited-run versions of the Murciélago.
The Murciélago's production only lasted from 2001 to 2010, ending with a total of 4,099 cars being produced as of November 5, 2010. The Aventador would be unveiled the following year at the Geneva Motor Show.
Oh, there was also a recall of 428 Murciélago coupés and roadsters in May 2010 because of the possibility the car would suffer a weld failure on the fuel pump support inside the fuel tank, which would potentially lead to a fuel leak which could lead to a possible fire in turn.

Lamborghini's modern Mighty Glacier. Or, the "Rambo Lambo" gets a new lease of life.
It dates back as early as April 23, 2012, when at the Beijjng Auto Show, Lamborghini announced their plan to launch a luxurious SUV, which was originally powered by a 5.2 litre V10 engine taken from its own Lamborghini Gallardo, and accompanied with an all-wheel-drive system. Its designs were also sharply influenced from its own V12 flagship, the Lamborghini Aventador.
It was called the Lamborghini Urus, a mid-sized luxury crossover SUV, and as per usual tradition of providing Animal Theme Naming for each model, it's named after the urus, the ancestor of modern domestic cattle, also known as the aurochs. Though it's the first SUV, this was not the first time Lamborghini has ever done a 4x4 off-road utility car where the honorable mention goes to the LM002 pickup made from The '80s (which it receives the punny nickname of "Rambo Lambo" after the title character), though it would serve as the Spiritual Successor, given Lamborghini also referenced the vehicle during their Urus-related events.
Five years later, after lots of research and development, the Urus finally be available to the public when it a announced on December 4, 2017. Unlike its concept form, the SUV received major changes for the exterior but also providing a different powertrain. Though the front-engine, all-wheel drive layout is retained, it instead uses a 641 hp twin-turbocharged 4.0 L FSI V8 engine from Audi, which would be Breaking Old Trends from Lamborghini's tradition of making naturally-aspirated engines, meaning it is the very first ever turbocharged Lamborghini.
