Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

Addition Suggestions...

And I have two reworking suggestions in mind. Both of them have mediocre profiles and don't make the most out of their implementation in the Pantheon...

  • Terry McGinnis/Batman II - Former Teen Rebel
    • Terry initially starts off as a rebellious youth who prefers to get things done his own way and wanting to indulge in his own interests instead, in addition to being a Delinquent. However, after his father's death and donning the mantle of Batman, Terry has to wisen up and mature quickly as his life becomes more complicated and his new superheroic life becomes more and more dire, which causes his rebellious side to mellow out overtime.
  • General Zod - Kneel Before Zod
    • Zod, of course, is the Trope Namer. While this wasn't an original trait he had, this became his most famous phrase after Superman II and ever since then, it's become his Catchphrase in all subsequent Superman works, comics or adaptations otherwise. This also highlights Zod's mentality as an overzealous, boastful, and egotistic alien warrior who believes that he is the physical and combat pinnacle of the Kryptonian race and that he is fit to rule and lead his race.

@Crimson Just do not forget to delete the original position of the profiles when moving them, thanks.

Now that Soul Fragment has a replacement, I have an idea of a rework for Manus so that I can start on the overhaul, Glowing Eyes of Doom. The Father of the Abyss, as he is titled is a beastial entity that resides in the Chasm, where he was buried years ago. After he was suddenly dug up by the citizens of Oolacile, he broke in a rampage and the Abyss was soon spread to the city. When in the Chasm of the Abyss near his boss arena looking closer will reveal his eyes and some people can cheese him by shooting arrows from that position. When fighting him directly, his face is covered in distinct, red eyes, making him quite obvious to see in the dark.

[up] I believe most of the movements will just be additions, not straight up "movements", so that means they'll be in two Halls, which is allowed as to represent different elements of their tropes. Hence why Crimson said "Addition", not "Movement".

  • Symbol: An outline of her head
  • Theme Music: Fly in the Freedom; This Machine (shared with Shadow and Omega)
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Badass Normal, Deadpan Snarker, Stacked Fighters And Classy Bat Burglars (that's treasure hunter!), Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Humanoid Female Animal, Ms. Vice Girl, Family-Friendly Fanservice, Teen Superspy, Defrosting Ice Queen
  • Domains: Bats, Jewelry, Attractiveness, Thievery, Government Agents
  • Allies: Shadow the Hedgehog, E-123 Omega, Sonic the Hedgehog, Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Ren Akiyama, Shiki, Neopolitan, Emerl, Felonius Gru, Batty Koda
  • On good terms with: Ann Takamaki
  • On speaking terms with: The Hall of Detectives, Remilia Scarlet, Strahd von Zavorich
  • Odd Friendship with: Bruce Wayne/Batman
  • Vitriolic Best Buds with: Knuckles the Echidna, Cynthia
  • Rivals: Nack, Nathan Drake, Team Charm, Felicia Hardy, Wario
  • Enemies: Metal Sonic, Mephiles the Dark, Black Doom, Infinite, Dr. Eggman, Antasma, Dr Albert W Wily, Konrad Curze
  • Opposed by: Carmelita Fox
  • Annoyed by: Zubat and Golbat, ZONE
  • Rouge's primary interest is in jewels. She is generally in search of them as a treasure hunter, though she's sometimes a freelance government agent...who expects to be paid in such. She's also rather attractive, though considering the world she's from, it's kept at a relatively tame level. A lot of deities accidentally misspell her name as "Rogue". She simply views said misspelling as a minor inconvenience to her.
    • Is noted to have a relatively diverse wardrobe (at least compared to the other Sonic characters) and can be seen wearing a different costume every other week. No one is certain if she gets new clothes through the jewels she finds or simply via a lot of rings.
  • The House of Love is still trying to see if she is in love with either Shadow or Knuckles. She has stated that she'll always be by Shadow's side regardless of what happens Omega is there for the two. As for Knuckles, the interactions are a little more complicated to say the least, though they will put aside their differences if the fate of the world is at stake. Rouge works better with Sonic, even being invited to his birthday. The two have also formed a bond with Emerl.
  • Even though her memories of that encounter were erased from her, Rouge isn't really happy to see that Mephiles is in action again. She, along with the Shadow and E-123 Omega intend to stop whatever it is that Mephiles has planned in spite of the erasure of said memories. His other components have restored these memories, and Mephiles chose to taunt her of how her and Shadow's relationship would only end in tragedy in the Bad Future. Given he was technically correct about Sonic being the Iblis Trigger, he might be telling the truth. The two have sworn that'll never happen.
    • They weren't happy to learn that Black Doom is Back from the Dead in the pantheon, and Infinite wasn't happy to meet one of Shadow's confidants when he joined the pantheon.
  • She tends to hang out with fellow Femme Fatale thieves Catwoman and Fujiko Mine. If she's in a mood to steal something, chances are she'll work alongside the two in such. Unlike Selina she's a government agent, though this doesn't get in the way of her jewel thievery. Sometimes she'll work with the Hall of Detectives as part of her role as a government agent. Rouge will sometimes work with Gru due to his role in the Anti-Villain League and willingness to do anti-heroic things to achieve results. He's also a great thief.
    • The fact she's a government agent and thief boils the blood of Carmelita Fox, who opposes any criminal no matter the alignment and will be damned to let one work for the government.
  • One of her appointments was to keep an eye on Eggman's friendly rival Dr Wily, which she already has a poor history with. Wily accuses her of being responsible for Crystal Man's removal from the pantheon because she wanted his crystals all to herself. The bat won't deny that she would do that, but explained that he was actually removed for not properly fitting his trope and he's in no position to complain about being stolen from.
  • Being a bat, Rouge tends to hang out with other deities associated with such, including Ren Akiyama and Shiki. The latter calls her Rougie (partially since Rouge told Shiki not to call her "Rogie"). She's also on good terms with Batty Koda, who she pities for the experimentation done to him. On the other hand, Rouge isn't too thrilled about Antasma and has been getting into fights against him whenever their paths cross. For a bat-themed character the two are on not so surprisingly good terms as she reminds him of Selina. Some people have called Batman a furry for this (though a lot of people feel that way for Rouge).
Bruce Wayne: "Yes, I'm a furry. My costume gives it away".
  • Given she's a fanservicy and flirtatious bat, Rouge has a Friendly Rivalry with the bat succubi Morrigan and Lilith. She's a lot more modest than them, so it's more about personal vanity than anything lustful. Being an attractive humanoid bat has led to the Hall of Vampires being interested in her, but she only cares to make conversation with classy vamps like Von Zarovich or Remila Scarlet who's both a vampire and a bat. Demitri Maximoff has tried to hit on her but she ignores him unless she wants to Troll Knuckles.
  • She finds the bat-themed Konrad rather intimidating, as he's Batman but evil and on steroids. However beyond opposing him and he opposing her for being a thief, Rouge is more concerned(rather, annoyed) by the Zubat and Golbat who pester her whenever she's exploring caves searching for treasure. Rouge was interested in the world of Pokemon to a degree, but mainly the Woobat line as they remind her of herselfnote . Less vainly she and Cynthia are somewhat chummy together as they're both treasure hunters and Cynthia is a socialite. However the Pokemon champion sometimes bemoans her jewel thievery, greed and vanity, even if she knows Rouge is a good person underneath that.
  • Rouge has gotten a lot of ire from Diancie and her Carbink servants as she always tries to steal their jewels and get the Mythical Pokemon to make more beautiful pink diamonds for her. Sometimes she'll also try to take some of Scrooge McDuck's gems for herself, using her role as a government agent to claim she's part of the IRS. Scrooge eventually put two and two together and fought her, but he can't deny he enjoyed their fight and hopes to prove himself as always her better the next time she tries to take his gems. And while Diancie doesn't have that Worthy Opponent angle with Rouge, she knows the bat thief won't harm her or her Carbink and isn't a bad person.
  • Knows she's attractive and is proud of it. She just wishes that ZONE stopped drawing lewd fanart of her. Personally she holds more of a respect for Ann Takamaki for embracing her beauty without letting other people define what that means for her, and was impressed at how she stood up for herself against sex offenders like Kamoshida. The two first met during her time in the Hall of Thievery, where she espoused wisdom and learned more tips in jewel thievery. Rouge soon found a rival in Black Cat, both in being a Classy Cat-Burglar and vanity about their looks.
  • During one of her treasure-hunting exploits, she met up with treasure-hunter Nack. She was a little amused to hear that the weasel was doing treasure-hunting in the Sonicverse before she came along. Both certainly enjoy the competition and often take shots at each other thanks to Nack's attempts at flirting with her. It was through him that Rouge learned about various other treasure hunters such as Lara Croft, Indiana Jones, and Nathan Drake. She finds them to be rather interesting competition in her treasure-hunting exploits.
    • Rouge later happened to encounter Team Charm by chance during one of her adventures. After a brief dispute over a treasure that they found, she and the group considered each other rivals and are in competition over who can find more valuable treasures.
  • The bat was once asked about the Treasury within the Pantheonic vault. When asked if she would try and steal something from there, she simply said that she would steal something that interests her at the moment. She also knows about Nack's various attempts at breaking in the vault and failing at that. One of the times she tried to steal from the Treasury Wario got it first and the she began chasing him for it, and whatever treasures and valuables he discovers. Wario doesn't like the competition so Rouge didn't bother with any bargaining.

Here is my post on K1-B0. Critiques or suggestions for additions to the profile are welcome.

K1-B0, God of Token Robots (Super High School Level Robot, Ultimate Robot, Ki-bo, Keebo)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hopebot.png
  • Demigod, Lesser God when fully upgraded.
  • Symbol: His ahoge.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Token Robot, Ridiculously Human Robot, Token Non-Human, Expressive Hair, Idiot Hair, Token Minority The Mole, Tomato Surprise, Audience Surrogate, Heroic Sacrifice
  • Domain: Robots, Technology, Token Non Humans
  • Allies: All ascended good-aligned Dangan Ronpa deities, especially Shuichi Saihara and Maki Harukawa, Dr. Light, Mega Man, X, Zero, Astro Boy, Sean of The SHIFTers, Jenny Wakeman
  • Enemies: Tsumugi Shirogane, Junko Enoshima and Monokuma, Monaca Towa, Dr. Wily, Sigma, Dr. Weil, Dr. Nefarious, Gleeman Vox, SKYNET, AM
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Kokichi Oma, Nagito Komaeda
  • One of the sixteen students of the Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles. While the other fifteen students are regular humans, K1-B0 is a robot with his title being the "Ultimate Robot". At the end of it, he self-destructs to destroy the entire facility in the final trial, allow the surviving students to escape and end Danganronpa forever. Makoto Naegi, impressed by his exploits and virtues, requested that K1-B0 be rebuilt and ascend as the god of Token Robots.
  • Upon his ascension, K1-B0 was welcomed by all of the good-aligned ascended Killing Game participants along with Shuichi and Tenko. The robot was very shocked at seeing them due to the first two Killing Game being fictional in his world and their likeness having been used by Tsumugi to psychologically torment his friends. While he was initially wary, Makoto managed to convince him that he and his friends are genuinely good people and that the hope that he brings is something that helps and encourages people unlike the empty catharsis that Team Danganronpa wanted to create. He now earnestly works with them to oppose Junko and Tsumugi.
    • That said, one Killing Game ex-participant he's not on good terms with is Nagito Komaeda due to his blind worship of hope and horrific means to "help it become stronger"being way too similar to Danganronpa's audience for K1-B0's liking. The fact that Nagito considers K1-B0's friends to be just nobodies with fake talents who had the gall to insult hope does not help their relationship. They will work together to fight Junko and Tsumugi, but it is a very strained relationship at best.
    • His relationship with Kokichi is also complicated as a result of the fifth trial and his intentions. Part of him is thankful for all the help the Ultimate Supreme Leader did for them, but another part of him still doesn't like him for all the trouble he caused as well. That and Kokichi is robophobic in his eyes, which doesn't help.
  • K1-B0 was quick to make allies with some of his fellow robots including Astro Boy]], Sean of The SHIFTers, and Jenny Wakeman
  • While he dislikes evil humans such as Dr. Weil and Dr. Wily, evil artifical intelligences do not fit any better under K1-B0's eyes. As a result he opposes SKYNET, Sigma and AM especially for his sadism. The irony that Dr. Nefarious hates organics in spite of formerly being one himself is not lost on the Ultimate Robot.
  • His Ultimate talent is basically the fact that he exists. Despite being a robot, he's actually extremely ordinary, admitting that he only possesses an average intelligence and is about as strong as a strong old man. Of course, his upgrades give him a fairly strong boost in power, and if he ever needs to, he can call in the help of Dr. Light to give him his upgrades.

"Please stop making prejudiced remarks like 'Robots don't have hearts'! It's possible to achieve a heartfelt speech through calculations!"

Okay, so I finally managed to climb out of my writer block and am ready to first-time post my drafts for the Pale King and the Magicka Wizards. In case you're curious, they were approved before (by the same user, no less), and no counter-suggestion was made. Really sorry for delay, but hey, better late than never!

Basically, the Pale King is a ruler of Hallownest who seeked to preserve his kingdom no matter the cost, and for that he had to murder thousands of his own children and turn them into empty husks filled with void to seal away the plague that ravages his kingdom. Who would condemn with him and actions? Who will sympathize (given that his only other choice was to allow the plague to destroy his kingdom)?

And the Magicka wizards are the group of very powerful wizards who can make a thousand possible spells with 10/11 different elements and 5 slots. They are also very destructive saviors who generally don't care about collaterial damage and casualties, and they show no mercy not even to each other (which is basically how the players tend to play them as, a playstyle that is actually encouraged by the game itself). Of course, it all depends on the players would like to play them as.

No-Thumbs Mode
Higher beings, these words are for you alone.
Beyond this point you enter the land of King and Creator.
Step across this threshold and obey our laws.
Bear witness to the last and only civilisation, the eternal Kingdom.
Hallownest

  • House: Body Parts
  • Greater God
  • Symbol: Symbol of Hallownest. Alternately, King's Idol.
  • Theme Songs: Pale Court, White Palace. Birthplace and Sealed Vessel (2nd Phase) would also suffice.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Portfolio: Crown-Shaped Head Featured in a Lot of Hallownestian Imagery, Physical God, God-Emperor, Craves Worship From His Subjects, Founder of Hallownest, Casted Off His Original Wyrm Shell to Match His Subjects' Shells, Light Is Not Evil, Power of the Void, Only Known by His Title, God Is Flawed, "No cost too great", Responsible for the Deaths of Thousands of His Own Children All for the Sake of Protecting Hallownest and Its People from the Infection, But All of His Plans Have Failed, Heavily Implied to be Posthumous Character
  • Domains: Light, Void, Monarchy, Filicide, Extremism
  • Heralds: The White Lady (his wife and Queen), Royal Retainers (loyal servants), Kingsmoulds and Wingmoulds (his creations and guardians)
  • Allies: Dung Defender
  • Enemies: The Radiance
  • Annoyed by: Zote the Mighty
  • Opposed by: House of Family
  • Feared by: Meat Boy
  • Long ago, an ancient Wyrm came to an unknown land and met its death. But what is a death to a higher being like Wyrm? Transformation is the answer; the Wyrm shedded off its dying body in favor of a new bug-like form, the one that would be known as the Pale King. The land he ended up in was inhabited by primitive bugs, trapped in unity of the mind by the Radiance, operating on base instincts alone. The Pale King freed them from this fate, bestowing upon them the gift of sapience, and thus, Hallownest was founded, with the Pale King as the ruler, revered by people as a god, even by the Moth Tribe, who turned back on their former deity, the Radiance. The Wyrm proceeded to erase all traces of the old light's existence, and soon the Radiance was forgotten. But the bugs would eventually stumble upon her lone surviving statue, and the Infection spread across all of Hallownest, regressing bugs into their primitive, violent state. To combat this, the Pale King created Vessels, filled with void, hoping that the strongest of them all would become the Hollow Knight and seal the light that plagues everyone's dreams. For extra measure, three bugs were chosen to become the Dreamers to form the seals to contain the Vessel. Unfortunately, it was All for Nothing; the Vessel he chose was not as pure as he thought, and the plague spread itself once more. At this point, the Pale King went into hiding, and then, him and his palace had vanished without a trace into the dream realm. By the time he was found by a little Knight, he was already a corpse. But was it really the Pale King, or was it just a projection inside the lingering memory? So far, nobody knows the clear answer...
  • The deities all over the Pantheon were surprised when they noticed an entirely new temple materialize out of nowhere in the House of Body Parts. It took the form of a majestic white palace, covered in white-grey leaves, ferns and roots...and also full of buzzsaws, spikes and thorns. A group of airborne deities was disposed to make contact with the new deity residing inside the temple, only to be greeted with aggressive four-armed guardians in white armor with curved claw-blades in hands. The battle ended with the arrival of the temple's owner, a robed bug, bright and radiant in visage, with a horned head in shape of crown, who called off his guards and demanded the intruders to clarify their intentions. Once they explained themselves and asked the new deity about his arrival, the King told his tale — as he described, once he met with a fate in his realm (he refused to elaborate on what fate it was, though), he was sent across the multiverse, and eventually stumbled across the realm of the Pantheon. He thoroughly observed the new world and its structure, and upon securing himself with the title of the God of Crown-Shaped Heads, managed to ascend himself into the Pantheon, hoping to become revered and worshipped as a god once more. Though he was mildly confused by the fact that in Pantheon, many mortal beings were also labelled as "gods", that didn't deter him from his goal — the Wyrm will become the light to shine against the darkness, for others to worship and devote.
  • When the Pale King brought the White Palace into the Pantheon along, he didn't come alone; he also brought a set of heralds with him. Kingsmoulds, his constructs made of Void, serve as the palace's security, attacking the intruders with their curved claw-blades that really pack a punch. Wingmoulds are another constructs of his, built for unknown purpose. They constantly hover mid-air and disassemble when struck, only to reform several seconds later, allowing some deities to use them as platforms to bounce off of from. Royal Retainers are his loyal, devoted servants who serve as the palace's caretakers. Unlike the latter two, they are incapable of combat. And finally, the Wyrm managed to bring into the Pantheon his wife and the Queen of Hallownest, the White Lady, who was happy to reunite with her beloved Wyrm, even though her blindness prevents her from enjoying the beautiful views of the new realm she found herself in. She primarily resides in her own room, still preferring to keep herself chained to prevent further procreation.
  • He seeks to rebuild Hallownest in the Pantheon. Though he doesn't have much to work with, especially given that the Hall of Insects (the place where he initially tried to rebuild Hallownest) is where the Radiance resides, he still refuses to turn back on his goals. Speaking of the Radiance, when she learnt of the Wyrm's ascension, she was absolutely furious, immediately rallying up an army of those she managed to infect and then leading an assault on the Pale King's temple. The battle ended with the Knight's interference who managed to destroy the Radiance once more, clearing the assault (her death didn't stick, unfortunately). The discovery that his mortal enemy was also in the Pantheon angered the Wyrm, though unlike the Radiance, his reaction was much more subdued.
  • The Radiance wasn't the only entity from his home realm he had an interaction with. And fortunately, another being in the Pantheon to come from Hallownest was none other than one of his Five Great Knights — Ogrim, the Dung Defender. The Defender was incredibly overjoyed to reunite with his King, and the Pale King himself was also quite pleased to see one of his most loyal knights among the ranks of the Pantheon, and reinstated him as a Knight, with his newest duty being the guardiant of the new Hallownest he seeks to build.
  • As of the little Knight? Well, the Pale King was surprised to discover that, of all beings to ascend into the Pantheon, it was one of the many rejected vessels who managed to do so. While he was initially disappointed, as it wasn't his chosen vessel, but when he learned of the tiny Knight's exploits, discovering that it was the one who actually destroyed the Radiance back in his home realm, as opposed to merely sealing it away, he had acknowledged the stray vessel as a very valuable asset in his war against his arch-nemesis. Yet at the same time, he's worried that, given the independance the Knight has displayed, it might turn on against him, given how the King had neglected it and left it behind in the Abyss to die in favor of his chosen vessel. Fortunately for the King, the Knight didn't display the desire to take revenge on its father so far. The Dung Defender, remembering his earlier promise to the Knight, asked the Pale King to officially make the vessel a Knight. Given that four other Great Knights are not ascended (and would most likely not be), the Pale King reluctantly accepted, much to the dung beetle's pleasure at the prospect of having many new adventures with the little vessel.
    • The Pale King also went on a record to say that, no matter what some unverified sources may claim, the Knight is NOT his post-mortem reincarnation. In fact, he was bewildered to think that people would assume that the vessel that was created back when he was still alive would somehow be himself reincarnated. The Pale King is also very annoyed by Zote the Mighty (then again, who isn't?). Besides the fact that Zote has the gull to call himself the Knight despite the fact that the King never officially deemed him one, and also mocked the Hallownest's downfall, he's also annoyed by the fact that some people believe that Zote is one of his rejected vessels, and denied all such claims. The deities can't tell whether the Pale King speaks the truth, or is he simply too ashamed to admit that he was responsible for Zote's existence.
  • Is despised by the House of Family once they discovered the truth behind the creation of his Vessels (having his own children be thrown into the Abyss to die even before their proper birth, be filled with void, and then making sure only the strongest Vessel would come out alive while the rest would be permanently sealed off in the Abyss) and what he had done to his "favored child" (permanently sealing it off in the Temple of the Black Egg, with all the plague inside driving it to constant state of rage and agony). The Pale King admitted that he knows what he had done is unforgivable, but stated that he did what he had to do, since his only other option would be to allow the Radiance to infect the entirety of Hallownest, permanently turning all of its people into mindless monsters.
  • Many deities questioned his choice of architectural design, more specifically, why in the world he would fill his palace with tons of buzzsaws, spikes and thorns. The Pale King claimed that all of this is for the sake of security, which only raised further questions regarding why in the world would he put such extensive security measures. Some have theorized that the Radiance is the reason why, but the King has neither confirmed nor denied this. Due to his bizarre architectural choices, Meat Boy ends up avoiding the Pale King and his temple whenever he can.
  • No cost too great.

  • Once upon a time, in a land known as Midgard, a horrible threat befell on a world. Years after the imprisonment of Grimnir on the World's End for his lustful ambitions (well, that's what Order of Magick says) and the exile of his disciples, the warlord Khan united tribes of orcs and goblins and invaded Midgard. Fortunately, four of the wizards, the finest pupils of Vlad (who is most definitely not a vampire), came from Castle Aldrheim to save the world. But once they defeated Khan, they learned that he was actually led by Grimnir, who still craved vengeance for his punishment. And once they came close to defeating him, they were sent by Vlad into the past, because Grimnir was empowered by Assatur, the King in Yellow, the powerful daemon who seeked to destroy the world. In parallel to their past selves' adventures, the wizard quartet had to find a way to learn Corporealize magick that required to bring Assatur into mortal plane to make him defeatable. In their quest, because of their complete lack of any kind of social skills, they had to fight many of their supposed allies, including Vlad himself, the Death, and Fafnir, the one who knew the necessary magick (and taught it to them once Future Vlad explained the situation). With their knowledge, they managed to defeat Grimnir once more, corporealize Assatur in the mortal realm, and then finally defeat him. Their efforts were congratulated, and Vlad told them they just need to use the Town Portal magick to go back home...yet they never learned this magick and had no way of learning it on their adventure, ending up being permanently stranded on the World's End.
    • However, it didn't prevent them from returning for another adventure (the question how did they manage to return was never answered, though. Maybe they did figure out how to use the Town Portal magick, after all?). Old and retired, they were enjoying a drink outside the Castle Aldrheim, until Vlad had appeared, reporting of the suspicious activities and lack of fish supplies coming from the small village of Outsmouth. On their ways, they had a lot of run-ins with the cultists of Cthulhu, the ones behind the suspicious activities, and the otherworldly abominations that came to their assistance. In the village proper, they even had to fight Dagon himself. Once they defeated him, he created a portal that sent them to the Nightmare Corpse-city of R'lyeh, awakening the Great Cthulhu. The stars were right, and now it was up to them to set them "left" by defeating the Great Old One. As they ventured, they finally faced Cthulhu, and in a particularly painful fight (in which Dagon had returned to assist him), finally managed to vanquish him. Unfortunately, they failed to escape R'lyeh and now they had to wait until the stars will be right again...and Vlad neglected to teleport them back, trapping them in the collapsing corpse-city, this time truly permanently.note
  • How did the wizards get into the Pantheon? It's simple; once they were trapped in R'lyeh, they tried to find a way to create a Town Portal magick again, but they miscasted and accidentally sent themselves into the Pantheon. They have no idea how to return back into Midgard, especially considering that they can't remember the elemental combination they used, so they just decided to stick there. Upon thorough observation of their behavior, the Court of Gods noticed how the wizard quartet possesses potent magical abilities, being capable of creating countless amounts of various spells using 5 out of 8 different elements (10 or 11, if one includes combination elements); and that's not even getting into Magicks, especially powerful spells that can be normally learned only through Tomes of Magick. Their vast magical potential managed to earn them the appropriate title of the Divine Quartet of Unlimited Magic Potential.
  • After learning of Hastur and finding him to be extremely similar to Assatur, down to sharing the same title and their names being pronounced the same (it's even implied that Assatur is Hastur as he appears in the world of Magicka), they immediately became enemies with the King in Yellow. He reciprocates their hostility. Cthulhu and Dagon are also not too pleased with seeing the group in the Pantheon, still holding a grudge against them for their past defeats. As such, the Wizards and the Eldritch Abominations can be frequently seen trying to kill each other, with both sides having varying rates of success. And thanks to Death Is Cheap nature of the Pantheon, these battles tend to be a very recurring sight.
  • Their heralds are many other wizards of Midgard. Whether they travel in quartets, trios, duos, or even go solo, they tend to be a very frequent sight in the "main" quartet's temple. They also tend to wear different robes of many different colors (though some specific quartets still prefer "default" robes with "default" red-blue-green-yellow color groups). Sometimes, whenever they want to rest, the "main" quartet secretly passes their divine title to another quartet similar to them, with very few deities noticing the difference. In fact, one specific quartet from another adventure taught the rest how to create Poison element by combining the Arcane and Water. Though that meant they are no longer capable of casting arcane water beams (arcane steam beams are still a fair game, though), their already huge magic potential had vastly increased, giving them many new spell possibilities.
  • Being the players' avatars, their characterization varies, but many things are made consistent with the playstyle encouraged by their game of origin, as well as the railroading. For once, they tend to be very destructive saviors, more often than not being apathetic to the collaterial damage and civilian casualties caught in the crossfire. They also have No Social Skills whatsoever, never explaining the situation to their supposed allies, having their intentions misinterpreted, and never declining the fights. And also, they often tend to kill each other for laughs (or to steal each others' stuff). Their Revive Magick (Life + Lightning) is very easy to cast, so they don't stay dead for long, and hardly even need the Houses of Death and Postmortem and Life and Vitality to come back to life. When the whole team is in peril, mostly when all wizards but one are dead, they resort to Summon Phoenix Magick (Life + Lightning + Fire), which revives all fallen wizards with full health at once and sets their enemies on fire once the summoned Phoenix lands. But that being said, they do end up needing these two houses if they end up suffering from the Total Party Kill.
    • One thing that also remains particularly consistent is the predicament of the yellow wizard. He always ends up receiving the short end of the stick, facing bad luck and being constantly abused, neglected, harmed, and even outright killed. While the wizards murdering each other For the Lulz is a commonsight, the one who suffers the most of it is always the yellow one. Due to that, he has found commonality with two other chew toys of the Pantheon: Waspinator and Kenny McCormick, who also face constant suffering and tend to die a lot (or rather, stay alive, but have his body blown to pieces in case of the former). As such, when the yellow wizard is not hanging out with the rest of the group, he is more often than not seen together with the unlucky two, with all three sharing their respective grievances (and surprisingly, they found a way to understand him even without the verbal communication).

@keebo: Kaito is in the Pantheon now too, so you definitely want to add interaction with him. Also, Copy X's regime is horrifically robophobic despite him being a robot himself, as any reploids that go against the 'benefits of humanity' get branded as a Maverick and killed.

@Vanya: Twilight Sparkle's immense talent in magic and hard work also allow her to create a seemingly infinite variety of spells, but I imagine she'd just find the Wizards a nuisance.

Also, I have a proposition for a rework related to a movie I really love.

Lady Amalthea, Goddess of Unicorns

  • Reasoning: Her current profile is poor, with no real introduction and just a few short paragraphs. As for why she stills fit this trope, her story is basically about all her being a unicorn, the last free one no less, and the effects it has on her being. There's a special emphasis on how different and wondrous she is compared to people and other creatures.

  • Date of ascension: 11 June

  • Description: A multi-layered prison with 6 levels, the last undisclosed to the public
  • Symbol: A crowned emblem with wings on a black background

  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral
  • Portfolio: The Alcatraz, Stylized After The Circles Of Hell from The Divine Comedy, Hellhole Prison, From Bad to Worse, Doesn't Frivolously Kill Its Prisoners
  • Domains: Prison, Torment, Despair, Hellish Fates, The Justice System
  • Sacred to: Magellan (former warden, current vice-warden), The Five Elder Stars (heads of the government Impel Down serves)
  • Unholy to: Everyone who's ever been locked up there, (notably Monkey D Luffy, Portgas D Ace, Crocodile and Donquixote Doflamingo), Al Capone, Dante Aligheri, Boris the Animal
  • The World Government has to deal with powerful criminals, pirates and other threats to both people and their status quo. For this, Impel Down was created. A vicious, near-inescapable prison with each deeper level being worse. Head by Hannyabal, and before him Magellan, each can expect a different kind of torture. The first layer is the Crimson Hell, with razor-sharp tree leaves stained with prisoner's blood, guards and blue gorillas chasing them. The second layer is the Wild Beast Hell, where dangerous beasts hunt the prisoners. The third layer is Starvation Hell, a desert where prisoners are at the edge of dehydration and starvation. The fourth layer is Blazing Hell, with the presence of a boiling blood pool. The fifth layer is Freezing Hell, a desolate frozen wasteland. And not known to the public is Eternal Hell, where the prisoners are forgotten and left to die of boredom.
  • Dreaded by the House of Crime, and more so that they are requesting resources from the pantheon. The more dangerous and animalistic members of the Monster halls are permitted under the warden's keen eyes to cause trouble for the criminals there in the Wild Beast Hell. At least, as long as they can control them. The SCP Foundation was impressed enough to consider it a temporary containment for their their deadlier SCPs if they're unable to use primary containment.. "Could" being the key word, as the Foundation considers themselves better and handling and containing dangerous entities. It's more a secondary containment than a replacement altogether. Still, they work better working together.
  • Impel Down's establishment in the pantheon has put the fear of God back into Al Capone. He went to the Alcatraz and that it's why he went nutsnote  and he was appalled that Impel Down "is like Alcatraz, but a thousand times worse!" The World Government doesn't find him guilty of crimes that'd send him there, but they aren't telling him that as they want to keep him on his best behavior if they and his criminal enterprise cross paths.
  • If it seems like a literal Hellhole Prison, that's because it kind of is. Impel Down was stylized off the Circles of Hell from The Divine Comedy. Dante, having traversed through the Inferno, recognized the similarities and was morbidly impressed for a second. Dis was initially amused at this apparent recreation of his unholy domain, but then shifted to irrational rage at the feeling of being plagiarized. It's especially hellish for those who can't swim; having seastone in its construction and being in the middle of the ocean means it's especially useful for holding Devil Fruit users.
  • The House of Justice was impressed by Impel Down, however how often it should be used by the pantheon was up for debate. While most imprisoned there were hardened and dangerous criminals, some believed it was too sadistic even towards them. This concerned was fueled by the fact the Hall of Tyrannical Figures thinking it can be used as an excuse to get rid of and punishment any political dissident. Horrifyingly Big Brother has plans of converting the entire area into one colossal Room 101. Regime Superman is more content to let Impel Down be, but he is still interested in the prison as it reminds him of The Trench; a fully underwater max security prison in his own universe. As it's in the Marianas Trench it's even more secure than Impel Down.
  • For all its ruthlessness Impel Down doesn't permit frivolous cruelty; Shillew got put in Level 6 because he killed prisoners for fun. To prevent the tyrants of the pantheon from abusing the system, the threshhold for how evil someone has to be to go there is EXCEPTIONALLY high. That said, the World Government ultimately has the say on who goes there and needs to get their seal of approval before capitulating to their prisoners. They didn't have any problem in the request to throw Cletus Kasady into Level 6; he more than earned an 11 lifetime prison service.
  • An agreement was made with the Men in Black that they can store Boris the Animal away, though for now they have a better chance containing the 1969 version rather than the 2012 version who broke out of a prison on the moon. During their containment of the psychopath, John Doe could be seen smirking off in the distance. Given he's the kind of scumbag who'd be sent there people asked why he was smirking. The Serial Killer simply stated he appreciates the Circles of Hell they use as an inspiration, and the apparent karmic punishment of those in there. In short, he thinks it's how a prison should work. Tellingly, he didn't find any irony in saying so.
  • Rumors started circulating that Nemesis is planning to break in, then out of Impel Down in order to completely ruin the whole thing out of boredom. Nemesis himself has denied those rumors by saying "I'm not an idiot". Later research revealed that the Joker started those rumors. This has led to people wanting Impel Down to hold the Joker as Arkham Asylum is a failure in containing anyone, but he just smirked by saying "Like that prison would contain me; the fans love me too much!" Unfortunately this wasn't a case of Tempting Fate as Gotham has stated they don't trust the World Government nearly enough to hold their criminals. Batman has yet to give his opinion.
  • The Underwater Prison prides itself on its security, however long ago prisoners managed to use a tunneling Devil Fruit to create a sub-level to serve as a haven for prisoners; Level 5.5: Newkama Land. The Okama Paradise is a place where all the okamas and prisoners can party and have a good time. They're making sure the only people who can know this are fellow criminals and the tropers reading this. It's another reason why the Joker doesn't fear Impel Down, but it's also a reason why sending him to Impel Down would probably end poorly; Newkama Land would likely reject giving him haven given his reputation and personality, which would just leave him to reveal Newkama Land out of spite and use the chaos as a springboard to tearing Impel Down apart. Worse, it's not out of the realms of plausibility he could pull that off.
