The Librarian
All-Stars
Voiced by: Diego Aguilar (Spanish), Anthony Stewart (English)additional VAs
Team: Purple Team (DC), Yellow Team (AS)
Placement: 4th (DC), TBA (AS)
Eliminated in: Episode 12 (DC), TBA (AS)

The librarian is mostly absorbed in books, without much desire to make new friends.. or maybe it just seems that way? We know that he's not a freelancer and somewhere outside of camping his wife and son are waiting for him, but he's reluctant to talk about them. Maybe they are the ones he wants to win the million bucks for? Or is it the other way around?

  • Affably Evil: Downplayed in the sense that he does not go out of his way to befriend people but he has a chill demeanour and Alec *the person* can be friendly. He does grow friendships with Fiore, Ellie and Grett in Season 1 (even if in the case of Ellie and Fiore they do not last the entire season) and Connor in All Stars. It is telling that Alec feels more remorseful about voting out Connor than Riya is.
  • All for Nothing: His goal to win the show in order to fix his marriage. Not only does he not win, but, as Fiore had predicted episodes earlier, his wife sends him a letter saying that by trying to keep their marriage going, Alec only ended up hurting her more. It becomes even more pointless once we find out in All-Stars just how broken and problematic the relationship was.
  • Anti-Villain: Alec does some pretty questionable things in order to get the million dollars, but he's doing it in the name of saving his failing marriage. Which makes it rather tragic when his marriage ends up falling apart anyway near the end of the season, and he ends up being booted off at the hands of Fiore, his closest ally at that moment.
  • Awful Wedded Life: While talking with Connor after defusing Yul and Riya's argument in episode 3 of All-Stars, he confides to him that his wife wanted to change who he was. This, coupled with Alec's desperate attempts to keep his marriage afloat only for his wife to essentially break things off in her letter to him, implies that their marriage wasn't the best.
  • Baldness Angst: Not that he's currently bald, but episode 3 reveals that one of his biggest fears is losing his hair. This fear is so extreme, in fact, he wastes no time refusing to do the challenge even after Fiore tries to make it sound less worse than it is.
  • Badass Bookworm: Alec is an avid book fan, and he willingly fights off a giant a scorpion in episode 11 of the remake in order to keep Fiore safe.
  • Beard of Sorrow: Alec growing a perma-stubble in All-Stars coincides with his personal life falling apart after his divorce.
  • Becoming the Mask: While he suggests he started bonding with Connor because he wanted an alliance with him, he grew genuinely fond of him.
  • Bookworm: His label is The Librarian and he came on the show with multiple books to read.
  • Brainy Brunette: He's a strategic Chessmaster who has brown hair.
  • Canon Foreigner: He was not present in the original version of the first season.
  • The Chessmaster: He has shades of being good at manipulating situations, which becomes more prominent in All Stars.
    • In the second episode of All-Stars, it's implied he exploited Jake being a Crazy Jealous Guy towards Tom to cause someone other than Fiore to be eliminated on the Magenta Team.
    • In the third episode, he ends up taking the lead amongst two other strategically powerful characters (Miriam and Fiore), to have their teams work together and shut Team Cyan out of the challenge.
    • He makes an alliance with several disliked contestants, all of which (including him) are notorious for causing conflictnote . Not only does this give him a safety net if he were up for elimination (which is partly because several of its members are on the same team as him), he convinces them to have the other contestants fight one another so they can stay under the radar.
  • Commonality Connection: He and Ellie eventually start to bond over being left out of the Will-Lill-Ashley-Nick alliance, and being the outcasts of the purple team in general. He also ends up developing something of a connection with Connor during All-Stars, bonding over the fact that they're both dealing with a woman in their life (Riya for Connor, Alec's wife for... well, Alec) acting different than they used to know.
  • Decomposite Character: He gets beta Jake's role of being mad after his ally chose someone else to make it to the finale.
  • Decided by One Vote: He's the deciding vote of his team's mock elimination ceremony in Episode 6 due to Ellie and Fiore, the only remaining teammates left, voting for each other.
  • Didn't Think This Through: He decides to go get more sticks during the fire-making challenge in Episode 12, trusting Ellie to keep the fire going while he's gone. Not only he should've known better than to trust someone he had betrayed in the past several times, it also seemed like there was just enough wood to spread the fire just fine. This results in his team losing this challenge, wasting a perfect chance for their potential third and last victory, which eventually contributes to his elimination in the same episode.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Alec ends up facing off against the giant scorpion during episode 11's challenge, twice, both times to protect Fiore. And unlike Ellie, who briefly attacks or stuns the thing and runs away, Alec actually fights the monster to a standstill until he asks Ellie for help.
  • Downer Ending: His marriage turns out to be beyond fixing, with the implication that he'll also lose the custody of his son. Two of the three friendships that he's formed throughout the season end up falling apart in the end, with Ellie growing to hate him after he had betrayed her several times, and Fiore betraying him by choosing Ellie to go to the finale over him.
  • The Dragon: He serves as Fiore's second in-command, being one of the only people they're willing to trust in order to help them win the season.
  • Drowning His Sorrows: The first episode of All-Stars suggests he's been consuming alcohol to deal with his sadness due to his marital problems.
  • Escapism: After thanking the Patreons of the show, he concludes that he'll go read a book to escape the horrible reality he's living in. It also implies that him being a Bookworm has always been his way of coping.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: He's clearly angry and hurt when Fiore betrays him by deciding to go to the finale with Ellie instead of him despite everything he did to help her.
  • Enemy Mine: Episode 4 has him form a six-person alliance with Ellie, Fiore, Yul, Grett, and Riya in order to survive past the merge.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Anti-Villain he may be, Alec is absolutely disgusted by Yul’s emotional abuse of Grett, even stating that he wouldn’t have even called his ex-wife such things, and takes some schadenfreude in indirectly punishing him for it in Episode 8.
  • Fatal Flaw: Trust, specifically his trust in Fiore. Once he takes a liking to the demon child, Alec never considers the idea that she might see him as just a tool, which leaves him utterly blindsided when she decides to take Ellie over him to the final three.
  • The Farmer and the Viper: His relationship with Fiore eventually devolves into this by the Season 1 finale, with him as the farmer and her as the viper. Once he becomes Fiore's most trusty confidant, he has no issue pulling whatever strings are necessary in order to help both of them reach the final two. Fiore, for her part, only sees him as an useful asset at best, and once she realizes she's starting to care about him, she needs little convincing from Miriam in order to get him out of the final 4 with no regret.
  • Flaw Exploitation: He exploits Jake's trust issues to cause tension on the Magenta Team in Episode 2 of All-Stars.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: In Episode 6 of All-Stars, he's presented with a choice: either betray his Villains' Alliance and vote for Yul to save his friend Connor from elimination or stick with the Villains' Alliance which has strength in numbers for the merge by voting out his friend Connor. He chooses the latter.
  • Friend to All Children: He lends his strategy book to Fiore in the opening sequence with a smile on his face, and later his psychology book in Episode 4. Having a son probably contributed to his soft spot for kids.
  • Hated by All: While he starts the season with a fairly decent social game, being an outcast on his team but still forming two friendships, pretty much everyone in the merge hates him for being a sneaky The Strategist on par with Fiore. His two initial friends also become his enemies after he betrayed Ellie several times and was betrayed by Fiore while Grett leaves on an ambiguous note with him until All-Stars, which shows the two have stayed on relatively decent terms.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his The Stoic personality, he has a wife and even a son, and the main reason he joined the competition is to try salvage his marriage.
  • Humiliation Conga: The entire Episode 12 is this to him. His wife lets him know she's not interested in keeping their marriage going, meaning his goal to win the show was All for Nothing. Miriam and Ellie team up against him, with Ellie successfully sabotaging her and Alec's team after their first two victories, meaning they lost just by one victory. Afterwards, Miriam convinces Fiore that Alec is more of a threat in the finale to her than Ellie, resulting in Fiore betraying him after the whole season of working together, which ruins their friendship.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: Downplayed in his relationship with Fiore. While she's capable of holding her own in a mental challenge, Fiore's utterly out of her depth when it comes to strength and her personality makes her one of the most hated contestants in Season 1. Enter Alec, whose ability to manipulate others and keep a cool head ends up helping not only him, but Fiore manage to survive multiple close calls until the final 4, at which point Fiore decides he's not useful anymore and throws him under the bus.
  • Hypocrite: As Ellie pointed out, he reacts harshly to having been betrayed by Fiore when he himself betrayed his allies (Ellie and Grett) to stay in the competition. Furthermore, he leaves being angry when he's the one who told Jake to leave with his dignity intact after the latter's been mad about his elimination.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: While his reaction is hypocritical given that he also had betrayed his allies in the past, he has every right to be mad at Fiore for eliminating him after the two have been working together throughout the season, with him raising valid points that he kept her secrets, protected her, and even saved her life.
  • Iconic Item: His multiple books.
  • It's Personal: He doesn't take kindly to Fiore betraying him after they had spent the whole season working together. It's part of the reason why he becomes one of Ellie's supporters during the finale, since while he doesn't like her either, he has much more reason to be angry at Fiore instead.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After spending the season as The Strategist orchestrating several eliminations and betraying Ellie several times to do so, Ellie teams up with Miriam in Episode 12 and sabotages her and Alec's team. Fiore also betrays him in the same episode, being convinced by Miriam that it'd be easier to defeat Ellie in the finale than Alec.
  • Lethal Chef: Downplayed. He's implied to be a fairly decent cook at home, but he can't make disgusting food taste better, unlike Miriam.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: He's a part of the Big Bad Ensemble with Fiore and Grett. However, unlike the other two Big Bads of the season, he's a calm The Stoic who never antagonizes anyone, genuinely cares about Fiore's well-being, feels remorse over having to choose between Fiore and Ellie, and acts more like The Strategist who merely plays to win than a Jerkass, being similar to Total Drama contestant Bowie in this regard.
  • Like a Son to Me: Alec utters how he wishes his son was more like Fiore after their strategy to let Grett win immunity in episode 8 goes off without a hitch, which briefly confuses her. Ellie ends up calling him out on this in one of her post-show interviews, claiming that his son most definitely heard him say this since he said this in international television.
  • Morality Pet: Alec acts as this for Fiore. She generally treats him better than the rest of the cast, with her Pet the Dog moments usually being directed towards him. In Episode 11, she realizes she's actually worried for his well-being. Granted, she seems to have stopped caring about him after she decided to go to the finale with Ellie instead of him.
  • Moral Myopia: At least Ellie seems to view him as such due to him betraying her several times but growing angry at Fiore backstabbing him.
  • Never My Fault: In the premiere episode of All-Stars, Alec blames Fiore for most of what happened to him. However, while she eliminated him, robbing him of a chance to win one million dollars, his marital problems and the way he dealt with them are all on him. His face after this exchange shows that he may be aware of this.
  • Not Wanting Kids Is Weird: A Rare Male Example, though it's implied. He suggests at least part of his marital issues came from his wife wanting kids when he didn't and she seems to have criticized him for this.
  • Odd Friendship:
    • Before getting a connection with Fiore, Ellie is the first person that develops a connection with Alec, with the two of them having a little talk during an early episode and managing to get to somewhat decent terms. It at first hits a road bump when Alec votes for Ellie over Fiore during the elimination, but Ellie eventually forgives him for it... before he betrays again during his, Ellie, and Fiore's alliance.
    • Come All-Stars, Connor is the first person of the Yellow Team that Alec really begins bonding with, showing sympathy over his issues with Riya and though he makes it clear he's not good at giving advice, he's still willing to lend an ear in case he needs it.
  • The One Guy:
    • After Nick's elimination in Episode 4, he is the sole male member of the Purple Team. He's also the only male contestant left in the final 4.
  • Only Friend: He's the only one who genuinely likes Fiore, with others outright hating and/or fearing her (usually after seeing through her true colors), not thinking much of her, or simply allying with her for strength in numbers. This ends after Fiore betrays him by choosing Ellie to go to the finale instead of him.
  • Only in It for the Money: When Emily asks him in the first episode of All Stars what made him come back to Disventure Camp he bluntly tells her he's only interested in the prize money.
  • Papa Wolf: As evidenced of him becoming Badass Bookworm when Fiore is in danger.
  • Perma-Stubble: Sports this in All-Stars as a result of dealing with his divorce in the two years since season 1.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: In the second episode of All-Stars, Alec seems concerned for Connor and offers to talk to him when he realizes he's having relationship issues with Riya. He also later tries to give him advice regarding his relationship with her. However, he eventually suggests he originally only came to him because he wanted an alliance rather than kindness. Granted, he did genuinely grow fond of him.
  • Precision F-Strike: While he usually isn't foul-mouthed, he outright says "Fuck you" to Ellie after she betrays him in Episode 11.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He leaves the argument of the Purple Team when Fiore frames Lill for burning some of Ashley's and Nick's belongings, preferring not to be a part of it. Happens again when Lill and Ashley expose Fiore's true nature to their team.
  • Secret-Keeper: Agrees to keep Fiore coming up with the idea of making a false flag a secret.
  • Sore Loser: In his rare non-stoic moments, he's mad when he's eliminated by Fiore, reminding her of how he had helped her throughout the season.
  • Spanner in the Works: His lies to Jake, which were likely done to keep Fiore out of danger, not only keep Fiore safe, but get rid of the previous winner James and allow for conflicts between Magenta and Cyan teams in the future with Jake, Aiden, and Tom.
  • The Stoic: He barely shows any emotions unless in very high-risk situations, such as when his fear is revealed. He doesn't bat an eye to Fiore showing her Enfant Terrible traits around him, unlike Ellie who's surprised and somewhat frightened.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: In the second challenge in All-Stars, he has to work with Miriam, when neither of them like each other.
  • Thinking Tic: A few times he puts part of his hand on his face when thinking.
  • Throwing the Fight: He purposefully loses the challenge in Episode 4 of All-Stars in order to use his newly-formed alliance to eliminate Miriam who had witnessed the alliance's formation and tried to Blackmail Alec that she'd reveal it to everyone.
  • Token Adult: He is one of the few characters who aren't around the age of teenagers (he’s 30) and has a son.
  • Undying Loyalty: While he's not above betraying his allies, namely Ellie and Grett, he remains loyal to Fiore throughout the season. At least until she eliminates him.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Alec loses almost ALL of the friendships he's formed throughout the season. Ellie grows to hate him after he betrayed her by choosing Fiore to stay over her and using her as The Scapegoat for ruining Jake and Tom's relationship. While Grett leaves admitting she had fun with Alec and Fiore, she still flips him off (along with the others) after he betrayed her by voting her out. Finally, Fiore is convinced by Miriam that he's more of a threat than Ellie, betraying him by eliminating him, which he doesn't take kindly.
  • Would Harm a Senior: In Episode 11, he snatches a flashlight from Miriam, causing her to fall down, in order to save Fiore.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: After Fiore chooses Ellie to go to the finale with her and Miriam over Alec, she states that he's no longer useful to her aside from being more of a threat than Ellie.

The Cowgirl
All-Stars
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Dawn Okomura (Beta, English), Sam Lee (Beta, Spanish), CherriEli (Spanish), Krystal Quezada (English)additional VAs
Team: Manic Raccoons (AC)/Purple Team (DC), Magenta Team (AS)
Placement: 9th (AC)/10th (DC), TBD (AS)
Eliminated in: Episode 3 (AC)/Episode 5 (DC), TBD (AS)

Hey everyone! Are you ready for a real rodeo? It's time for our cowgirl to show that she's no stranger to wild survivalism surrounded by equally wild nature. Are we catching the bull by the horns, or is it the bull catching us? Hats on... or rather, hats off. So, is Ashley returning with a million bucks to the family farm?

  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Ashley didn't stick around in the beta long enough for her to reveal any significant fears or insecurities. Season 1's phobia challenge reveals that she has a fear of fire after one such fire ended up consuming her family's crops and part of their barn. All-Stars ends up making this worse by revealing that the fire was caused by some garbage left behind from a Wild Teen Party she threw when her parents weren't around, which alongside the crops and part of the barn also caused several animals to die, including some horses that Ashley grew up with.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Her "Adventure Camp" design was particularly plain-looking compared to how pretty she looks in the reboot version.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: In the original series, Ashley blindly followed after whatever Fiore said despite Lill’s warnings of her and came off as a bit of a Dumb Blonde. She also only discovered her true nature when she read her notebook. Here, even after Fiore burns some of her and Nick's stuff and tries to frame it on Lill, she still makes it clear that she believes Lill over her, partially due to Lill being too kind and loyal towards her up to that point for it to be rationalized and partially due to her friend and Ship Tease Will providing similar accusations towards Fiore. It's also revealed in Episode 5 that she no longer trusts Fiore.
  • Adaptational Skimpiness: A very subtle example. Her design is mostly the same from the beta to the remake aside of changes in the color scheme, but her shirt in the beta was fully buttoned up, while the remake has it slightly unbuttoned at the top, showing some cleavage.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: While she had blue eyes in the original version of the first season, she has teal eyes in the reboot. Her boots were also white in the beta, but brown in the reboot.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Ashley and Lill shared next to no interactions in the beta. In the remake, they arguably gain the closest bond of their alliance with Will and Nick, and are even eliminated together.
    • Ashley and Will barely interacted before he got booted out in the beta. In the remake, they're decidedly more friendly with each other, even having some Ship Tease along the way, eventually giving way to them becoming a couple by the time All-Stars airs.
    • Ashley easily falls for Fiore's lies in the beta, and it takes reading her notebook to find out about her true nature. The remake makes her more suspicious from the start, and loses her trust in Fiore a bit earlier.
    • The closest thing to an interaction between Ashley and Ellie in the beta was her being one of her supporters during the finale. In the remake, their relationship significantly sours when Ellie decides to vote her and Lill out over Fiore, with Ashley even staring that Ellie's gonna regret this.
  • All Girls Like Ponies: Played for Drama. While recounting to Jake the incident that caused the fire that caused her to fear fire, Ashley mentions that among the casualties of said fire were some of the horses she grew up with.
  • All-Loving Heroine: Ashley doesn't have a mean bone in her body and is generally nice and approachable towards the other contestants. She, in fact, doesn't even hold a grudge against Ellie and Gabby come All-Stars despite Gabby being responsible for her elimination back in Season 1 and Ellie saying some pretty hurtful and offensive things about her during one of her post-show interviews.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: She's a girly cowgirl and one of the primary cases of Ms. Fanservice in the show, which is indicated with her wearing a knotted shirt that exposes her midriff, compared to most of the other females who only do with their nightwear or swimwear.
  • Best Served Cold: When she enters the game in All-Stars, Ashley's main objective is to get revenge on Fiore for everything she did in Season 1. However, certain events conspire to force her to play the long game instead, like having to vote out James over Fiore in order to secure Jake's trust, and then having to convince Fiore to be the deciding vote to get Hunter eliminated in their second elimination ceremony. She finally gets what she wanted in their third elimination ceremony, as she convinces Jake to vote for Fiore, causing the demon child to get eliminated.
  • Beta Couple: With Will. In contrast to the main couples of the season, their relationship is formed off-screen and they only get to showcase their Relationship Upgrade in the finale, experiencing no issues in their relationship.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: While she's very sweet, she does have her limits, like when she snaps at Jake and Ally for their bickering.
  • Breakout Character: While she didn't make it far in the beta and its remake, she became a very popular character. This seems to be why she's a contestant in All-Stars and made it further there than she did any other season she participated in.
  • Cowgirl: Her label is "The Cowgirl", and she has both the aesthetic and the ranch background.
  • Country Mouse: Which explains her accent and survival skills.
  • Cruel Mercy: In the beta version, she's so heavily sedated after Fiore and Grett both shoot her with tranquilizer darts that, despite Lill bringing up a decent argument that Fiore might have something to do with it, her team has no choice but to vote her out of the competition.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: In the third episode of the first season, the challenge requires her to get over her fear of fires, and Ashley explains how two years before a fire burned her family's crops, house and some of the horses they had, killing them, which was a very traumatic event for her. In the fourth episode of All Stars, during a conversation with Jake, Ashley elaborates on this matter: the fire started after Ashley threw a party on her parents' farm, which caused a lot of trash to be left on the crops, and it caught fire in the morning after. Ashley still feels immense guilt over this, even though her parents forgave her.
  • Dumb Blonde: She has blonde hair but she's mostly unintelligent in the beta, where she easily falls for Fiore's lies and it takes reading her notebook to find out her true nature.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: She does not take the fact that Ellie voted for her and Lill instead of Fiore during their double elimination, even going so far as to say she will regret it later.
  • Even the Loving Hero Has Hated Ones: While it's true that Ashley's generally a nice girl and doesn't hold a grudge, the one person she seem to have a legitimate animosity with is Fiore, with the manipulative child being more than willing to return the animosity.
  • Exact Words: In the second episode of All Stars, after she lands on Fiore after jumping off the plane, she apologises and tells her that she has never used a parachute in her life. Then, in the confessional, she says that she wasn't lying: she really never used a parachute before, but she completely intended on landing on Fiore for all the trouble she caused her last season.
  • Everyone Has Standards: While Ashley's willing to listen to Jake's problems and tried to be supportive of them, when Jake tries to bring up the Aiden and Tom debacle prior to their team's third elimination ceremony, Ashley makes her frustration over the concept known, and it's only when Jake brings up the fact he talked to Tom does Ashley return to her usual supportive attitude.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She's a loyal, kind young woman with blonde hair.
  • Iconic Item: Her cowgirl hat which gets burnt in Episode 4. By All-Stars, she has a new one.
  • Jerkass to One: Ashley is a friendly woman who doesn't tend to hold a grudge... Except for Fiore, who she absolutely cannot stand and only ever treats nicely in case she wants something out of her.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Just like in the original version of the first season, especially now that she wears lingerie-like nightwear and a bikini (which she wears for three challenges straight in All-Stars).
  • My God, What Have I Done?: It's revealed in All-Stars that she threw a party as a teenager when her parents were away and deeply regrets doing so. This is because garbage left from the party caught on fire and it damaged her family's house, destroyed their crops, and killed their animals.
  • National Stereotypes: Heavy accent, working on a farm, love for the animals and taming bulls—it’s definitely not obvious that she’s American.
  • Never Bareheaded: She's almost never seen without her trusty cowboy hat sitting atop her head until Fiore ends up burning it to a crisp.
  • Nice Girl: A friendly, caring young woman who's a loyal friend and ally to have by your side which is one of her most notable traits.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: In the beta, Fiore and Grett sedate her with tranquilizer darts, with them being so potent her team has no choice but to vote her out.
  • Odd Friendship:
    • Out of all the contestants in Season 1, Ashley's most surprising friendship is with Lill, the middle aged scout leader, whom she forms an alliance with.
    • Come All-Stars, Jake is the first person on her team she truly befriends, as she willingly listen to his problems and gives him a supportive shoulder he otherwise doesn't have due to Miriam being stuck in a different team.
  • Phenotype Stereotype: In case you couldn't tell from her blonde hair, blue eyes, and cowgirl aesthetic, she's American.
  • Primal Fear: As revealed in Episode 3, she's afraid of fire after a heatwave cost her family part of their house, animals and crops.
  • Relationship Upgrade: She and Will started dating before the finale and after their respective eliminations.
  • Ship Tease: With Will, at least in the remake.
  • Sore Loser: Does not handle her vote out well in Episode 5. She calls her vote out unfair and tells Ellie she will regret booting her and Lill.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's among the tallest girls of the cast as well as the prime Ms. Fanservice of her seasons. Will also finds her attractive.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: While she doesn't like Fiore, the two are teammates in All-Stars.
  • Undying Loyalty: Even after Fiore successfully frames Will, she doesn't vote for him and continues acting nice towards him. The same happens after Fiore's attempt at framing Lill for burning her and Nick's belongings.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: In Adventure Camp, while she's riding a horse in her audition tape, a tree branch rips off her shirt, leaving her topless, in a similar vein to Heather in X-Treme Torture.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Her reaction to Ellie voting her and Lill off instead of Fiore. She even tells Ellie she will regret her decision.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Downplayed. In the second episode of All Stars, she purposefully lands on Fiore after opening her parachute.

The Know-It-All
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Scott (Beta, English) Leonardo Delgado/Chico Pay (Beta, Spanish), Nico "Shiro" Silver (Spanish), Genesis9876 (English)additional VAs
Team: Chaotic Beavers (AC)/Teal Team (DC)
Placement: 12th (AC)/9th (DC)
Eliminated in: Episode 1 (AC)/Episode 7 (DC)

One might think, what is such a nerd doing in the total wilderness? A guest who on average wants to talk about himself and prefers to hole up in front of a computer monitor? You're right, you're not the only one who's curious as to what our colleague really needs that million bucks for. So what, any suggestions?

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Dan and Gabby don't really interact with each other in the beta, partly as a result of him being the first boot. In the remastered version, the two have a minor friendship, which eventually becomes one-sided on Dan's part after Gabby finds it hard to forgive him for voting for her and when Dan intends to vote out Ellie, Gabby's love interest.
  • Arch-Enemy: He seems to be the character Miriam hates the most, often being antagonized by her. However, she allies with him later on and instead he gets on Gabby's bad side.
  • Ascended Extra: In the original version of the season, Dan was the first boot both from his team and of the competition. Here, Will is the first boot of the competition and Drew gets to be the first boot of his team, with Grett actually getting Drew kicked off from the game by lying about him, which is what she did in the original version to kick Dan off.
  • Black Bead Eyes: The only one in the first season with black dotted eyes as a part of his design.
  • Blind Without Them: Can't see without his glasses, which is when he (and Gabby) stay behind to find them after he loses them in Episode 2. It ends up costing his team the challenge in Episode 7 when Fiore causes Grett break them.
  • Frame-Up: In the beta, he's voted off first after Grett lies to Tom that he intended to betray the guys' alliance by suggesting to vote for Tom, knowing his secret and planning to use it to his advantage. In the remastered version, this role is given to Drew instead.
  • The Generic Guy: In both versions of Season 1, Dan doesn't really have any remarkable personality traits.
  • Graceful Loser: Especially compared to many other eliminated contestants. While Dan is upset about getting eliminated over Gabby, he still wishes his teammates (several of whom voted him off) good luck.
  • Informed Flaw: His label is "The Know-It-All" and Grett describes him to Tom as a guy who pretends to know more than he does. However, this ends up never being at play in the story. The one instance where he does show off his knowledge is when he gives Miriam genuine advice on how to paddle faster, which was done with no malicious intent and in order to give their team a better chance at winning.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Essentially how Grett described him to Tom. His label as "The Know-It-All" suggests it was the intended characterization for his character, but on the show proper it ended up being Informed Flaw, as described above.
  • Never Bareheaded: He wears a hat even as a part of his swimsuit.
  • Out of Focus: In spite of his Ascended Extra status, Dan has little to no plot relevance and still survives several eliminations until halfway through the season.
  • Primal Fear: As revealed in Episode 3, he has arachnophobia.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: In the beta, he's the first boot of the season and ended up being the prime example of this trope in the series, being rather Out of Focus in his sole episode of competing as well as in the finale, and being pretty much forgotten by remaining contestants after his elimination. In fact, him having such little importance was what inspired the creators to keep the first boot of Season 2, Oliver, as The Intern in order to avoid this trope.

The Kid With The Notebook
Voiced by: N/A
Team: Teal Team
Placement: 13th
Eliminated in: Episode 3

And this character is especially a mystery. Does he really not talk, or maybe he's just pretending and hiding some dark secrets from us? Things are not made any easier by the mysterious notebook he carries with him all the time. Maybe he doesn't need it just to communicate?

  • Canon Foreigner: He was not present in the original version of the first season.
  • Childish Tooth Gap: He spots a gap in his teeth which, along with his Youthful Freckles, are meant to add to his innocence and him being one of the youngest contestants.
  • Cute Mute: He's deaf-mute and the second-youngest character after Fiore. His style of humour comes from the cute messages he writes in his notebook and his sign language homaging a Tom and Jerry-esque style of sound cues.
  • Expy: Of B from Total Drama. Both are quiet characters who are eliminated in Episode 3, at least partly as a result of a Frame-Up due to an antagonist.
  • Frame-Up: Grett steals Drew’s notebook (or makes a fake one) and fills it with observations about Tom to make him paranoid enough to flip on his alliance with the guys and send him home.
  • Graceful Loser: Despite being eliminated and betrayed by Tom, Drew doesn't seem to hold any grudges against his teammates, waving them goodbye with a smile on his face.
  • Iconic Item: His notebook which he communicates with.
  • Mirror Character: He's this to Dan from the original version, Adventure Camp. Both are scrawny boys with brown hair who are among the biggest examples of the show's We Hardly Knew Ye and both were eliminated after becoming a part of a guys' alliance via a Frame-Up by Grett, who lied to Tom that they knew his secret. The only difference is that Drew is The Voiceless and a Canon Foreigner in the remake while Dan actually had lines and became a slightly Ascended Extra.
  • Punny Name: Although he's mostly seen writing rather than drawing, the kid with the notebook is named Drew.
  • Shipper on Deck: Seems interested in seeing Tom and Jake fall in love, given how he always smiles at their interactions.
  • The Voiceless: He doesn't speak and instead communicates through the notes in his notebook.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: He’s booted rather quickly before the audience ever gets a chance to learn anything about him.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: As shown in Episode 3, he's afraid of dentists.
  • Youthful Freckles: He's one of the youngest contestants and spots freckles. They also symbolize his innocence.

A mad woman with schizophrenia or a totally normal girl? No one knows. All we know is that she has a soft spot for natural products and a bit of emotional instability...

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Her relationship with Ellie was more one-sided in the beta, with most of the romantic moments coming from Gabby herself before Ellie reciprocrated in Gabby's elimination. The remake gives them more time to develop their relationship, making it come across as more equal in both sides.
    • Gabby didn't stick around long enough for her and Dan to develop any sort of companionship. In the remake, Gabby's clone manipulates her into thinking that Dan's her friend, and her attempt at lying to him shows that at the very least, Dan is perfectly willing to be cordial with her.
    • Likewise, Gabby and Nick didn't interact much, if at all, before she became one of the first to be voted out in the beta. In the remake, Gabby ends up developing a burning hatred for Nick when she realizes his sweater is made out of animals, and he shows complete disinterest in this revelation, which flips her lid.
    • Gabby and Grett had an uneasy Enemy Mine in the beta, but their relationship was fairly neutral since Grett didn't manipulate or hurt her more than necessary. In the remake, Grett's outright asinine treatment of her causes Gabby to grow angry at her, eventually deciding to betray her and win the immunity for herself before playing a part in her "elimination".
    • Finally, Gabby and Tom barely interacted at the beginning of the beta, and didn't interact much afterwards. In the remake, she teams up with him in order to investigate the animal corpses she found in a tent and at the motel where the campers are staying at.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: With the exception of Ellie and possibly Dan (who only voted for her because of his alliance with Tom, Jake and Drew and not because he disliked her), no one is really fond of Gabby to the point of wishing to keep her in the game. Her original team voted her off and she is the first target suggested by the guys alliance of her new team. Grett even tells her that no one likes her and, privately, admits that she only puts up with her for her vote.
  • Animal Lover: She seems to adore all animals and is even willing to kill to protect animal life, if her threatening to kill Nick if he doesn't care for animal life is of any indication. It's also later revealed she owns many pets. The reason she left the hotel and teamed up with Tom after her boot was because she found out Jensen and crew are killing the animals around camp.
  • Ascended Extra: In the original version, she was the third boot of the season, being rather Out of Focus, with even her romantic plot with Ellie getting very little spotlight. In the remastered version, not only does she make it further in the competition, but her interactions are given much more importance. Even after her elimination she makes minor/cameo appearences in every episode after she's booted, playing a role in the investigation behind Trevor, Derek, and Jensen's criminal business most notably in Episode 11.
  • Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch: After being tired of Grett using her, she rings the bell to win immunity for herself and "votes her out" in Episode 6.
  • Bad Liar: As she puts it, Gabby is "not the best at lying", a lot of which seems to be due to her bad acting at least when she's nervous. While she manages to fool Tom into thinking Jenson was nearby, she didn't manage to fully convince Dan. Miriam and Jake also seemed suspicious of her.
  • The Beastmaster: Comes with her being an Animal Lover. In the second episode of All Stars, she is able to make a lion willingly come with her through Team Cyan's gate, while most of the other contestants struggle with trying to tame much less challenging animals.
  • Berserk Button: Do not mistreat nature or animals in any way, shape, or form. Nick nearly dies because of it.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: The main reason why Gabby ends up falling for Ellie is because, though their interactions were very short, they were enough to make Gabby feel "valid" and not like she was being used like she's felt before.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Gabby is a weirdo with a history of violence, but even without that in mind, she can be quite brutal when she wants to be, like when she threatens Tom after he pulls down a log during the first challenge or when she betrays Grett and gets her voted out after she grows sick of her attitude.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Though Gabby is a sweet enough person on a good day, she also has a bad habit of centering her sense of right and wrong around herself and what she wants and believes in. This can cause her to lash out rather violently at whoever goes against those beliefs even if they aren’t in the wrong and paint herself or someone she cares about as the victim, including when she threatened Nick, betrayed Dan, and turned against the Cyan Team simply because they sent home Ellie.
  • Caring Gardener: Gabby has an interest in plants alongside animals and nature, having some in her home, and while kooky, she's ultimately a kindhearted girl who wouldn't hurt a fly.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Gabby implies that people have used her before, which is why she's perfectly fine with teaming up with Grett despite the clear fact that Grett's only using her.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: While Gabby's Spanish voice actor has a fairly decent volume of voice, her English is basically screeching most of her lines in pure excitement.
  • The Cutie: Plays this role in All-Stars up until Ellie's elimination, where she goes through a Corrupt the Cutie moment.
  • Cut His Heart Out with a Spoon: After Tom throws down the log during the first challenge of the beta, Gabby threatens to cut his head off and feed it to the birds if she catches him hurting a tree again, before backpedaling and saying she wishes him to be more careful next time.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: There are many hints she had a bad past. She suggests that she feels left out in her family, her father comes off as callous, and it's implied many people have tried to control her. She also tells Ellie (who she's in love with) that she's the only one who makes her feel "valid".
  • Decoy Protagonist: Due to her All of the Other Reindeer and Ascended Extra status, plus her relationship with Ellie, Gabby comes off as an underdog protagonist for a good chunk of the season. She gets substantial screentime in every episode and felt like a potential underdog winner only to get eliminated in Episode 8.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Her reaction to finding out that Nick's sweater is made out of animals? Threaten to kill him.
  • Dork in a Sweater: Gabby wears a red sweater as part of her main apparel, and while she's undeniably... quirky, she's ultimately harmless and a very nice girl once you get to know her.
  • The Dragon: She acted as one towards Grett in a somewhat similar way to how Beth and Lindsay worked for Heather, before having enough of her and "voting her out".
  • Easily Forgiven: Miriam and Dan don't really mind her involvement as The Dragon in Episode 6, including being sabotaged by her during the challenge, claiming they figured Grett was the schemer behind it.
  • Fatal Flaw: Her impulsiveness, as Gabby tends to make more emotional decisions than strategic ones. After being responsible for seemingly eliminating Grett and successfully eliminating Dan she is left with only Ellie trusting her. Fiore is successful in causing a rift between the Teal Team members and eliminating her.
  • Fan of the Underdog: While Ellie's initially on a good standing with most people, said standing gets brought down further and further as she either betrays them to advance into the game, or events happen that make her the target for their ire. Gabby supports regardless, to the point she's one of her only supporters in the finale, and the only one who's there because she wants to and not because she's angry at another option (Alec) or is friends with one of the other Supporters (Drew).
  • Fist of Rage: While talking with Grett regarding forming an alliance with her, Gabby ends up clenching her free hand into a fist after Grett strikes a nerve by saying how she's the only one willing to team up with her at that point in the game.
  • Friendless Background: Gabby implies to Ellie that before the two met, she didn't really have anybody she could call a friend, much less someone who made her "feel valid" like Ellie did.
  • Friend to All Living Things: While she's not as gentle as some examples, she can also be friendly and seems to get along with all animals. In the first challenge in All-Stars, she even manages to walk a lion (which was supposed to be dangerous) like a well-trained dog.
  • Friend to Bugs: She has shades of this since she has pet fireflies and, in Episode 5, she mentions doesn't want to eat cockroaches (which was part of a challenge) because "they have feelings".
  • Genki Girl: Incredibly energetic from the moment she steps off the bus.
  • Gratuitous English: In the original version of the first season, she speaks English a couple times (e.g. "That's my girl!" when Ellie wins in her ending) despite the season's language being Spanish and the series not being dubbed in English at the time.
  • Face–Heel Turn: After Tess, Aiden, and Tom vote out Ellie in All-Stars, Gabby decides to side with the villains alliance to take revenge against them.
  • Imaginary Friend: A couple scenes show her having a clone that only she can see and hear, though her manipulative and malicious nature towards Gabby doesn't quite fit the "friend" part of the trope.
  • Innocent Beta Bitch: Gabby becomes Grett's partner later down in the remake, but she remains just as nice as she did before allying with her.
  • Insane Equals Violent: Downplayed. Gabby's implied to have some sort of mental disorder and has been to a mental ward before, but while she can get a little violent when riled up, she's usually more along the lines of cheerful and energetic rather than dangerously violent.
  • Informed Flaw: She states in the first episode that she gets dizzy easily, but nothing comes out of it.
  • Lipstick Lesbian: She was confirmed to be a lesbian during the Pride Month 2023 announcement of the show's creators (though this was also implied in the original version of the first season), with the announcement pretty much confirming this due to how she is being carried by Ellie, her love interest.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: She's fully aware that Grett is merely putting up with her for her vote, something the latter always made clear. In Episode 6, she realizes Grett doesn't even acknowledge her help in pulling off their schemes, which causes Gabby to deliver "The Reason You Suck" Speech to her, grab individual immunity for herself, and join Miriam and Dan in voting off Grett.
  • Morality Pet: Gabby's one of the very few people that Ellie never tries to backstab or betray in any way, something that Gabby reciprocrates by being one of the only people willing to stick by Ellie's side even as she takes more questionable methods.
  • Motor Mouth: Generally talks a lot and can talk rather fast. Played for Laughs in the first challenge as it distracts Grett, apparently caused Miriam to fall asleep, plus allows Lill to sneak in and capture their team's flag.
  • Nature Lover: Along with being an Animal Lover, she adores nature and has plants at her home. She even states in Episode 1 that she prefers reading on her phone instead of paper because she doesn't want to kill trees.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Gets a little too excited and cheery after Krystal brings up the risk of the contestants dying from a lack of oxygen during the Episode 8 challenge.
  • No Indoor Voice: Very rarely will you hear her say anything without shouting it out loud ("SURPRISE BITCHES!!!" from episode 5 deserves an Honorable mention). It's also the reason why she takes the role of a guide in Episode 7.
  • Odd Friendship:
    • She and Drew hit it off surprisingly well during their stay in the game, enough so that Drew becomes one of Ellie's supporters in the finale despite not really having interacted with her at all.
    • Despite them not trusting each other or getting along well in the actual game, she forms a partnership with Tom to investigate and take down Jensen after both of them are booted.
  • Only Friend: By the time the finale comes, Gabby's the only person that Ellie's still on good terms with, as her other friends either lost trust in her (Jake, Alec) or are only supporting her because they're friends with Gabby (Drew).
  • Only Sane Woman: Despite usually being very quirky, she actually acts as the voice of reason (especially in her perspective) when Tom and Ellie are arguing in the second episode of All-Stars. She lampshades it herself.
  • Opposites Attract: Although her girlfriend Ellie is fairly composed and level-headed, Gabby herself is enthusiastic and impulsive.
  • Out of Focus: In All-Stars so far through the first 5 episodes she hasn't been given as much to do compared to others.
  • Red Is Violent: Along with sporting a red sweater and a red bow, she has violent tendencies, like when she threatened to cut off Tom's head with an axe and feed it to the birds if she saw him hurting a tree again.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The energetic and impulsive red oni to Ellie's calm and serene blue Oni.
  • Red Ones Go Faster: During the leg race in episode 5 of All-Stars, Gabby is picked as Cyan Team's racer and she proves to be quite agile on her feet, being able to outrun Fiore despite the huge distance advantage that the evil child had when Gabby started running.
  • Revenge: She views eliminating Ashley as revenge because she, as part of the Purple Team, voted her off in the first episode alongside Will, Lill and Nick. In Episode 6, she gets even with Grett for using and mistreating her via thwarting her plan to win immunity. She even works with Miriam and Dan to vote her off.
  • Satellite Love Interest: In the beta, while having enough information to be her own specific stereotype, most of Gabby's more noteworthy moments involve her relationship with Ellie in some way. Even when she returns for the finale, most of that is spent interacting with Ellie and Grett. The remake would eventually do away with this, letting Gabby stick around longer than before and develop more of a personality of her own.
  • Spanner in the Works: She accidentally discovers the body bags at the motel and a tent near the camp, which convinces her to go back to the camp and wait until Tom arrives to team up with him and investigate it.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: In the original version of the season, Gabby was teammates with Dan, Grett, Jake, Miriam and Tom from the beginning. Here, she starts being teammates with Ashley, Ellie, Lill, Nick and Will before swapping teams due to being voted off in a mock elimination ceremony for threatening both Nick and Alec.
  • Tragically Disabled Love Interest: Gabby's implied to have some sort of mental disorder, having been to a mental ward once, and it's also implied that she doesn't have a good relationship with her parents, in addition to having little to no friends. She is also Ellie's girlfriend, the only person that makes her feel "valid" in her own words.
  • Vibrant Orange: Her swimsuit in All-Stars has some orange, befitting for a loud and impulsive yet usually friendly Genki Girl.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: As revealed in Episode 3, she's afraid of being alone.

This star has just got some nerve! Is she really confident of her victory from the beginning? And what kind of foul play is this? Ah, well, yes, the million dollars could already be hers. I guess someone really wants to prove something here. Oops, shh.

  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Grett and Gabby had an uneasy Enemy Mine in the beta, but their relationship was fairly neutral since Grett didn't manipulate or hurt her more than necessary. In the remake, Grett's outright asinine treatment of Gabby causes the latter to grow angry at her, eventually deciding to betray her and win the immunity for herself before playing a part in her "elimination".
    • Grett and Ellie were Co-Dragons to Fiore during the beta, and the former became Ellie's helper during the finale, but the remake has them barely interact one another before Grett gets eliminated.
    • In the beta, Grett targets Dan and gets him voted out first. The remake has her target Drew instead, with Grett and Dan not really sharing a word afterwards.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Even with a new manager who reins him in and stops him from digging himself too deep, Yul is still one of the nastient characters among the All-Stars cast, and yet he and Grett are a couple by the time the third season rolls around.
  • Bait-and-Switch: The first episode would make you think that she might be the main villain of the series, or at least close to it. However, the end of the episode shows true Big Bad turns out to be Fiore.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: In the Polish dub, Grett is renamed Gretta.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Subverted. She's introduced as a threat who manages to start an alliance early on, soon gets Tom wrapped around her finger, and seems to be a decent player. While she is a fine schemer and manipulator, Grett's alliance members Miriam and Gabby betray her plus get her eliminated relatively early; Gabby ruins her scheme to get individual immunity with Miriam convincing her and Dan to help her vote her off. However, the following episode reveals she was only switching teams.
  • Character Development: She starts off wanting to make her unloving parents proud of her, but due to Fiore, she realizes that she doesn't need them.
  • Demoted to Extra: Double subverted. She's seemingly eliminated far sooner than she was in the original season, in which she was a major antagonist and placed 5th. However, it's later revealed that she was only switching teams. However, she gets voted out only a couple episodes later.
  • Didn't Think This Through: She doesn't think to acknowledge Gabby's hard work in her schemes and blatantly tells her that she intends to win the immunity for herself before the two even reach the bell. This results in Gabby betraying her, getting the immunity for herself, and voting her out with the help of Dan and Miriam. While it's revealed she was only switching teams, she still did lose an ally.
  • Evil Brit: She's cruel, manipulative, and talks in a British accent, though she's not as bad as Fiore.
  • Evil Feels Good: She seems to enjoy scheming. In the finale, she states she finds it "fun" to make plots with Fiore.
  • Evil Gloating: She has her moments. For instance, she gloats "In your faces" to the other team when she manages to defeat them in a challenge because they voted her off due to her evil actions.
  • Fat Bitch: She's an overweight, manipulative schemer. The "Fat" part gets lampshaded in episodes 2 and 6. She lost a lot of weight sometime after the remake of season one, though.
  • Flipping the Bird: Upon being eliminated for real, shows her contempt for the remaining contestants by flipping them all off.
  • Formerly Fat: While she's overweight in the beta and its remake, by All-Stars, she has lost quite a bit of weight. She seems to be lampshading it when she tells Alec she's "worked on herself, both inside and out".
  • Freudian Excuse: Implied. It's revealed that her mother favors her brother over her and it's all but stated that he's miles more successful than her. It's also later implied that her father feels the same way and it's revealed that neither of her parents were there for her. However, it's not outright confirmed if this had a result on her personality or not.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Sure, her brother is all but stated to be far more successful than her and she doesn't have the best house life given her parents (or at least her mother) favour him over her. However, as Gabby suggests during her "The Reason You Suck" Speech, it's still no excuse for how poorly she treats other people.
Gabby: Just because you're projecting your issues with your brother and parents, doesn't mean I should feel bad for you. We all have problems, but you can't treat people like shit!
  • Giggling Villain: She giggles when thinking of a new scheme to sabotage Ellie in the finale, and later does the same when trying to sabotage Miriam.
  • Graceful Loser: Subverted. When she's voted off for real, she takes it calmly, even telling Fiore and Alec (who voted her off with the former betraying her) that she'll try to take their advice to heart. She then flips off all other contestants and curses at them.
  • Greed: She has shades of this as she intentionally exagerrated how much she regrets her actions in season one to sell online courses on personal acceptance.
  • Hated by All: With the way she treats others as expandable pawns whom she has Lack of Empathy for, it was a guaranteed reaction that nobody likes her. That's part of the reason behind her "elimination", as Miriam has had enough of her scheming and uses the help of Dan and Grett's ex-The Dragon Gabby to vote her out. It's lampshaded by Fiore in Episode 8 when she suggests to Alec that they need to have Grett win immunity since she's at risk of being voted off because of her poor repute. She's also the most voted answer on a question regarding who the contestants would want to see have the billion dollar prize the least. While she manages to get an alliance with Alec and Fiore, the latter has no qualms betraying her and neither of them seem to have any issue voting her off for good.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: Grett left Season 1 on a fairly open note, with All-Stars showing she decided to work on herself... While also admitting she exageratted on Twitter to sell online courses about acceptance.
  • Hoist by Her Own Petard:
    • In the original version of Episode 4, she caused Fiore to wet herself in fear. When Grett competed again, this time against Miriam, she slipped on the pee puddle, causing a Slippery Swimsuit moment and resulting in Grett losing that round.
    • In Episode 6, she plans to win immunity for herself, which involves her having Gabby help her all day and sabotage her teammates. When she reveals she was taking immunity for herself and then shows her no gratitude, Gabby snaps and betrays her.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Although she could have been nicer, Grett isn't wrong that the Purple Team (with the exception of Ellie) don't like Gabby as they voted her off in the first episode. In Episode 6, she also makes several accurate points about Tom (e.g. that he's a spy at the time), which puts a wedge between him and Jake.
  • Kick the Dog: She cruelly loudly tells Gabby her to shut up when she was just trying to be nice to her when she learned about her mother favoring her brother over her in Episode 5. She even later shows her no gratitude for helping her out in her scheme in Episode 6, even claiming she did all the hard work.
  • Lack of Empathy: She has zero issue with manipulating others, frames Drew to prevent herself from getting eliminated, and implies she sabotaged other contestants in a beauty competition. Additionally, when Fiore seemingly gets voted off for being weak, Grett cruelly tells her that she voted her over Miriam because Miriam at least knows how to read. She also shows no empathy for Gabby when she reveals she was hurt due to her teammates nearly voting her off.
  • Manipulative Bitch: One of her specialties is manipulating people.
  • Moment Killer: Type IV. In the opening, she intentionally interrupts a kiss between Gabby and Eli because she doesn't want them to be a couple. In the original version of the first season, she does the same but with Tom and Jake instead.
  • Odd Couple: Aside from both being one of the antagonists of their respective casts (and both being eliminated first out of them), Grett and Yul have nothing in common and neither seems like the type to genuinely love someone. In spite of that, they became a couple in a Time Skip before All-Stars.
  • Official Couple: With Yul post-Time Skip, much to the shock of everyone.
  • Only Friend: By the time of All-Stars, she's the only contestant from Season 1 that Alec seems to be on friendly terms with, as they banter during their wait for the private jet to arrive, compared to how Ellie outright hates him and Fiore could care less about him.
  • Only Known By Her Nickname: Although her actual first name is "Gretchen", she's usually called "Grett".
  • Parental Favoritism: Her brother appears to favored by their mother, with her constantly reminding Grett of his achievements. It's also implied that her father feels the same way too.
  • Parental Neglect: Heavily implied as her parents (or at least her mother) favor her brother over her and she later reveals that they were never there for her.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite her worst traits, she compliments Miriam on her cooking after tasting it in Episode 5. Moreover, she later saves Fiore from being attacked by a zombie. While it's revealed that it was only part of a stimulation, Grett didn't know this. It also didn't seem to be out of Pragmatic Villainy.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: She's one of the main evil-doers and she shows shades of being ageist; she calls Miriam an "old hag" and seems to look down on her for being old.
  • Relationship Sabotage: Doesn't let Gabby approach Eli at all, even though Ellie does seem to enjoy Gabby's company. She also interrupts their kiss in the opening.
  • The Resenter: She appears to resent her brother for being more successful than her. It makes sense considering her parents (or at least her mother) seem to favor him.
  • Self-Serving Memory: She seems to believe that she did all the hard work in her plan to earn immunity in Episode 6, even telling Gabby (who actually did most of the work) that she wasn't helpful.
  • Slippery Swimsuit: In Wait, What?, Episode 4 of the original Adventure Camp, her bikini top slightly fell off after she slipped, revealing her breasts, amusing the remaining contestants, especially Fiore.
  • Sore Loser: Upon being eliminated, she claims it doesn't affect her despite how clearly motivated she was to win the show, and adds that she won other competitions anyway. When she's eliminated for real, she curses out Alec and Fiore and flips everyone the bird on her way out.
  • Stepford Smiler: Seems to be this by All-Stars, with her anxious looking smile in her promo art and within the intro when sitting with Yul, only to look upset towards the end while walking with her fellow season 1 castmates.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: After the second team switch, she's a member of the Purple Team in the remastered version. Also she is Fiore's helper in the finale while she was Ellie's helper in the demo finale.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: While neither of them seem to like one another, she ends up having to work with Fiore in the finale of the remake.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Of the Teal Team.
  • Ungrateful Bitch: She never shows Gabby any gratitude, even when she spends much of the day helping her as part of a scheme to win immunity in Episode 6. This seems to be part of why Gabby betrayed her, who even called her out for being ungrateful during her "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
  • Unnamed Parent: Neither of her parents are named despite both being mentioned.
  • Villainous Friendship: She admits upon being eliminated that even though they betrayed her, she had fun with Fiore and Alec, the other two members of her Big Bad Ensemble.
  • Weight Woe: It's suggested in All-Stars that she has issues with her weight, as she becomes angry when Emily brings it up in the first episode. She's also hurt when Yul tells her she needs to get rid of her "thunder thighs".
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: She reveals that she wants to win the season to make her parents (who were never there for her) proud of her, which gets lampshaded by Fiore. She seems to grow out this later, though.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Episode 3 implies she's afraid of crocodiles.
  • Would Harm a Senior: She has no qualms with shooting Miriam (who's clearly elderly) with an arrow. While it was revealed to be a stimulation, she didn't know that at the time.

From our information, he came to camp after a difficult breakup. Will anyone manage to heal his broken heart or will situations only take a more disturbing turn?

  • Abomination Accusation Attack: His tirade against Ellie includes, among other things, him calling her a bad person over her role in torpedoing his and Tom's relationship.
  • Abusive Parents: Implied. His audition tape implies his relationship with his parents isn't the best, and he says they're not the most supportive people during his and Miriam's interview, which contributed to him choosing to move out to Miriam's house.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Not much is mentioned about Jake's family life in the original version. Here, his grandfather’s death affected him and has a grandmother that will not live long and ends up dying during the show. It is also implied he does not have a good relationship with most of his family either. His ex-boyfriend also cheated on him, causing him to have trust issues. He and Tom also don't get together at the end of the season, with them deciding they're Better as Friends and choosing to go their separate ways. However, as All-Stars eventually reveals, he never truly stopped loving Tom, and his torch as well as the idea that he and Aiden might have a thing drives a lot of his conflict for the season.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: The remake makes his actions regarding Ellie's lie about his relationship with Tom significantly worse. While in the beta Jake acted cold towards Tom after the reveal, in the remake he outright throws a temper tantrum while they have more important things to focus on, and he even begs Tom to save him during the elimination ceremony despite the fact that he voted for him. As for Ellie, Jake didn't want to talk to her but was at least willing to hear her out when she came up with a solution in the beta. In the remake, he not only shoots down every attempt she makes to explain herself, but keeps ranting to her about being at fault for the fallout with Tom even after she saves his life from a giant scorpion.
  • Adaptational Dumbass: Jake in the beta might've been angry at Ellie due to causing a wedge between him and Tom, but he was at least smart and pragmatic enough to put that grudge aside in order to focus on more important matters. Not only does Season 1 make Jake stubbornly refuse to accept Ellie's apologies and see the bigger picture, he then tries to use said apologies to manipulate her into letting him win the challenge, after he had been ranting at her despite the fact that she saved his life.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: His socks in the reboot are white with each having a couple of green stripes, although in the original they're green with no white. He also wears a black undershirt in the original, but in the reboot, it's white.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: In the beta, Jake was among the calmest of the contestants, and was pretty chill even when he encountered some rather shocking truths. Season 1 instead makes him more emotionally open, both in how he shows more emotion when talking to people, and in how much worse he takes the harsh revelation and betrayals that happen to him in the course of the game.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Jake and Miriam barely interacted in the beta. Season 1 instead turns them into each other's biggest allies, developing a grandson-grandmother-like relationship.
    • Jake and Nick formed a slight alliance during the later parts of the beta and worked together until the latter was removed near the finale. Season 1 has them barely interact, if at all, before Nick winds up biting the dust before the merge.
    • He and Ellie don't get along in either the beta or the remake, but the beta has Ellie at least apologetic and remorseful for what she did, while in the remake, Jake's petulant whining and Ellie's growing cynicism causes then both to refuse to forgive the other. In both versions they still end in bad terms, but in the beta he is more bitter about Ellie choosing Fiore over him than Ellie lying about Tom.
    • In the beta, he and Tom managed to work things out and become a couple again after everything they went through. In the remake, Tom tells Jake that after everything they went through, he feels like they need to grow as people before they decide to give love another shot, an idea that Jake ultimately agrees with.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: In the Polish dub, Jake is renamed Jakie.
  • Basement-Dweller: His audition tape reveals that he still lives under his parents' house, and his plan once he wins the million dollars is to use it to move out. He eventually manages to do just that between Season 1 and All-Stars, moving in with Miriam after she wins the season and the million dollars.
  • Better as Friends: After a lot of romantic tension between them, Jake and Tom eventually decide that they're simply not ready for a relationship and that they should just remain friends. And Jake, for his part, accepts this. This is also a significant divergence from the beta, which had them make up during the finale. This, however, wasn't the end, as All-Stars reveals that Jake still holds a torch for Tom.
  • Bonding over Missing Parents: In Episode 5, he bonds with Miriam over the fact that both have a deceased relative and she helps him with his grief, which eventually leads into them becoming each other's closest bonds.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: He seems to still have feelings for Tom in All-Stars and seems jealous of Aiden because he thinks he replaced him as Tom's Love Interest. Besides looking annoyed and jealous during several of their interactions (e.g. when Tom helps Aiden in the intro), he votes off James (who Aiden loves) seemingly to spite him. According to his ally Ashley, he even begged her to help him vote off James. Fiore later lampshades it. This is eventually confirmed inn"Ball Busters", where his first confessional has Jake confirm he does still have feelings for Tom and he hasn't gotten over him in the two years since Season 1.
  • Did Not Get The Guy: In the remake, he and Tom decide that they're Better as Friends and that they need to grow as people before they try to give love another shot, with them sharing a hug at the end of it. All-Stars confirms this heavily affected Jake, as not only does he still hold a torch for Tom, but thinks that he and Aiden may have a thing.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Learning that Ellie caused his and Tom's relationship to fall apart hurts him, though it's worse than the remake since Jake's refusal to listen to Ellie and her growing ruthlessness causes them both to end in worse terms than the beta.
  • The First Cut Is the Deepest: Part of the reason why Jake has such a hard time with his and Tom's relationship is because he's still reeling from how his last boyfriend cheated on him, which gave him severe trust issues. This same trauma gets used by Ellie to drive a wedge between them, and ultimately is part of the reason why he and Tom decide that they are Better as Friends at the end of the season.
  • Foil:
    • To James. Both get separated from their respective love interests in All-Stars by being placed on Magenta Team while said boyfriends are placed on Cyan Team and quickly bond with each other. However, while James fully trusts his boyfriend and believes he and Tom are just friends, Jake becomes a Crazy Jealous Guy due to feeling like Tom replaced him with Aiden.
    • He's also one to Aiden. Both of them are the more sensitive member in their relationships with their love interests, and can also get pretty emotional when riled up. However, while Aiden is generally calm and has complete trust in James, Jake's trust issues make him emotionally unstable and he spends a decent bit of All-Stars thinking that Tom and Aiden may have a thing, despite the latter having a boyfriend.
  • Friends Are Chosen, Family Aren't: Jake's relationship with his parents isn't focused on, but it's implied to be rather strained. By contrast, Miriam proves to be easily his greatest friend and companion during the camp, to the point that he decides to move with her in the interim between Season 1 and All-Stars.
  • Gayngst: All-Stars implies his family isn't the most accepting of him which is why he ends up moving out into his own place thanks to Miriam and her prize money. Even without this in mind, however, he also has to deal with trust issues due to his previous boyfriend cheating on him and one of his only friends in the competition use said trauma to advance in the game.
  • The Generic Guy: Is more normal and sane than the others, at least when his emotional instability isn't taken into account.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: A twofer. Despite his growing relationship with Tom and the fact that he doesn't know Ellie that well, he buys her lie to him that Tom was calling his supposed boyfriend and saying nasty things about him. This results not only in his and Tom's relationship deteriorating, but his bridge with Ellie being burned to a crisp.
  • Hypocrite:
    • He's mad at Ellie for playing a part in eliminating Tom. While he's right she was involved in the scheme, Jake himself voted for Tom, contributing to his elimination.
    • He gets bothered by how close Tom and Aiden apparently got in so little time during All Stars (although they are not as close as Jake thinks, having kissed once but just while acting for a challenge), ignoring that his relationship with Tom also grew over the short period of time they were at Camp Tipiskaw in Season 1, and that they had not spoke in around two years, meaning that Tom could as well have moved on from him.
  • Hypocrite Has a Point: While Jake being angry at Ellie for getting Tom voted out is hypocritical since he had a hand in it too, it's understandable. Even without considering his emotional instability, Jake and Ellie were growing closer and actually developing a bond with each other, which is big for Jake due to his trust issues. Ellie manipulating and using his issues against him not only results in the loss of his boyfriend, but said issues being worsened.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: Implied. After his argument with James about Tom and Aiden in the second episode of All Stars, it's shown a confessional of James where he mocks Jake's posts on social media, where he complains about not being able to find true love.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: He develops a strong bond with Miriam after bonding over missing relatives with her.
  • Insane Troll Logic: While at least partially motivated by Alec's manipulation, Jake's jealousy towards Tom and Aiden's friendship stems from him thinking that Tom has replaced him with Aiden, despite the fact that A) He and Tom decided they were Better as Friends and to not pursue a romance until they grew as people and B) Aiden already has a boyfriend in the form of James, whose relationship with him is one of the most loving among both casts.
  • Love Hurts: His first boyfriend cheated on him, which caused him to develop trust issues. As for his relationship with Tom, even without taking Ellie's lie into account, the two have to go through hoops and loops to make the relationship work, and by the end they decide that they're better off not getting together and instead work on each other as people before they give love another shot.
  • Love Makes You Dumb: While Jake's relationship with Tom does help him give love another shot after his first boyfriend cheated on him, his trust issues also means he's just as susceptible to manipulation, which Is what Ellie does in order to sabotage his relationship with Tom.
  • Manchild: He still lives with his parents and, while he's usually a cool guy when in a good mood, once his mood sours, he proves to be quite petulant and whiny, like when he treats Tom badly while thinking that he cheated on him, and then constantly ranting and spitting at Ellie once the truth of her deception comes out, despite not only Ellie being apologetic but, in the remake, having just saved him from a giant scorpion.
  • Mirror Character: Feels like one to Aiden from Season 2, despite technically being created before him. Both are the gullible, emotional Nice Guy that falls in love with a more manly guy in their cast that they have trust issues with. Unlike Aiden however, Jake ends up being the one to contributing more to the strife in his relationship with Tom in the end by voting him out, having poor communication in their relationship, and believing the lies Ellie tells him. Also unlike Aiden, he doesn't make it to the finale.
  • Moment of Weakness: Jake, feeling very stressed out during the reveal behind his and Tom's failing relationship thanks to Ellie's lies, ends up begging for Tom to save him when him possessing an Immunity Totem is revealed. This, alongside Tom being targeted for elimination, leads Tom to cut things off with him before walking to the Bus of Losers.
  • Nice Guy: Very friendly towards his other teammates, so long as his issues and emotional instability isn't used against him.
  • Odd Friendship: He eventually befriends Miriam, a Grumpy Old Woman who used to berate him (and Dan) the most.
  • Poor Communication Kills: While Ellie did keep him and Tom separated to keep them from talking to each other, it was still clear that Jake's insecurities and naivety led to him making a very brash decision in voting out Tom before the two of them could properly talk. Tom even calls him out on this at the elimination ceremony.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Sensitive Guy to Tom's Manly Man.
    • In All-Stars, he's also the Sensitive Guy to James' Manly Man.
  • Sore Loser: Upon being eliminated, he responds with "Whatever. I don't care." Ellie points out how he spoke like someone who does care and Alec tells him to leave with some of his dignity intact.
  • Super Gullible: A major plot point of Episode 10 of the reboot and a major reason why Tom breaks up with him is because he easily falls for other contestants' lies. It gets lampshaded by several characters too.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Ellie walks up to him and tells him that Tom has been using a radio in order to call his boyfriend, all while saying nasty things about him. His trust issues causes Jake to believe Ellie, leading him to grow cold towards Tom until the truth comes out during the elimination round, at which point it's too late and Tom wants nothing to do him.
  • Trauma Button: He has two; the topic of death in general, and people cheating on him. Ellie takes advantage of the latter in order to drive a wedge between him and Tom, in a plan to get the latter eliminated, which results in the end of their friendship.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Ellie saves his life from a giant scorpion during episode 11, with the two of them running for their lives afterwards. Next time we see them, Jake is ranting about how much she hates her, while also painting her as the main reason he and Tom broke up despite Jake being at least partially responsible for the breakdown.
  • Unknown Rival: He is this with Aiden in All-Stars. He sees how quickly Aiden and Tom become friends and feels jealous over this due to his feelings for Tom and feeling ignored by him. Alec then plants it in his head that Tom has replaced him with Aiden. This leads to Jake becoming paranoid against Aiden and trying to one up him, like by voting off James as Revenge by Proxy against Aiden. Yet despite all this, Aiden has no idea about Jake's dislike towards him or the idea that he thinks he is cheating on his boyfriend James with Tom.
  • Unnamed Parent: Not him, but while both of his parents are mentioned, neither of their names are revealed.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Ellie uses Jake's trust issues to drive a wedge between him and Tom, which eventually culminates in Tom being voted out and the two parting in less than ideal terms.
  • We Used to Be Friends: In both the original and the beta, Ellie ends up betraying his trust when she uses his fear over the idea that Tom could cheat on him in order to trick him into getting Tom eliminated, and when he learns it, he makes it clear he wants nothing to do with her.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: As revealed in Episode 3, he's afraid of cemeteries. The topic of death in general hits too close to home for him after the death of his grandfather and the upcoming death of his grandmother.

The Scout Leader
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Chealsea C. (Beta, English), Sam Lee (Beta, Spanish), Poulette R.F (Spanish), Kenkoy (English)additional VAs
Team: Manic Raccoons (AC)/Purple Team (DC)
Placement: 8th (AC)/11th (DC)
Eliminated in: Episode 4 (AC)/Episode 5 (DC)

Watch out, watch out! And all for the dear Girl Scouts, yes, we've heard that before. In that case, will Lill bring back a million bucks for them? Or will the iron rules of morality beat her before... well, before what?

  • The Ace: She's learnt multiple useful survival skills from her time as a scout leader, which comes useful on the show and quickly makes her gain the role of The Leader of her team.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Even more heroic than in the original version, she is the de-facto leader, helps her team bring food and even in Episode 2 she believes Will when he says Fiore said mean things to her, something she does not do in the original version (though she did have her suspicions, but told him that he couldn't be sure of that without proof). Her vote is not enough to not send Will home, though.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In the original version of season one, she sports orange socks. In the reboot, her socks are white.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Lill didn't interact with Ashley that much in the beta, with the most interaction they had was Lill showing concern for her after Grett and Fiore shoot her with tranquilizer darts. In the remake, she and Ashley form the closest bond between the alliance of them, Will, and Nick, even becoming her closest ally after Fiore tries to frame her for burning Nick's stuff, and Ashley becomes the only one of the team to outright defend her.
  • Barely-Changed Dub Name: In the Polish dub, Lill is renamed Lilli.
  • Disappointed in You: In the beta, she says as much to Nick when he calls her out over being stern with Fiore, even though she's brought up a decent point that Fiore might've been related to Ashley's injury.
  • Excellent Judge of Character: Per her own admission, her working as a scout leader for the girls troops for years has allowed her to easily tell when something is amiss with a girl, which is what clues her to Fiore being more than she seems.
  • The Leader: She quickly establishes herself as the leader of Manic Raccoons/Purple Team during the start of the show, being the one to strategize and generally tell the others what to do and what to look for. However, her authority isn't absolute, since
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Very clearly based off of Lillian Morris of Survivor: Pearl Islands.
  • Older Than They Look: One look at Lill without knowing anything about her would make you believe that she's either in her early or late 30s, but she's actually 47.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: She's the closest thing to a leader that the Manic Raccoons/Purple Team have at the start of the show, and she's one of the only campers who believes Will when he says that Fiore is hiding something, though she's a bit more doubtful in the beta compared to the remake.
  • Scout-Out: Her gimmick is that she's a scout leader who's been in the business for many years. This not only made her a very capable survivalist with enough skills to survive being out in the wild, but also gave her enough experience with little girls to notice that Fiore is doing things a girl her age should not be doing, making her the second camper to suspect her after Will.
  • Ship Tease: With Nick. However, it was more pronounced in the beta and didn't really go anywhere in either version.
  • Team Mom: She very quickly becomes a warm and kind leader to the purple team.
  • Token Adult: She is one of the few characters who isn't around the age of teenagers, though at the very least, is younger when compared to Miriam.
  • We Used to Be Friends: In both the beta and the remake, Nick is one of the first people who Lill bonds with, even getting some slight Ship Tease with him in the beta. Unfortunately, Nick deciding to stick with Fiore's side over Lill's causes their friendship to grow strained, especially when, in the remake, Nick completely buys Fiore's lie of Lill burning his stuff last night.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Episode 3 implies she's either afraid of heights or falling in general, or more specifically jumping off a plane.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Her reaction to Ellie voting her and Ashley off instead of Fiore.

The Old Lady
All-Stars
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Lucas Silva (Beta, English), Gabriela Mendoza (Beta, Spanish), Noemy Cyrman (Spanish), SpilledInk (English)additional VAs
Team: Chaotic Beavers (AC)/Teal Team (DC), Yellow Team (AS)
Placement: 7th (AC)/1st (DC), 16th (AS)
Eliminated in: Episode 5 (AC)/N/A (DC), Episode 4 (AS)

A grumpy old lady or a dear grandmother who greets you with a cheesecake? That's what you have to find out for yourself. Our grandmother may not be what she seems. After all, she used to be... different?

  • Absurd Phobia: Played for Drama. She's afraid of cheesecake due to an incident in her past involving it, as shown in Episode 3. It's later revealed to be because of a Dark and Troubled Past; she made a cheesecake for her husband the same day he and her son (her only remaining family members) died in a car crash, resulting in her living alone since then.
  • Abusive Parents: Implied. She reveals that, when she was young, she played many sports as they helped her with getting away with her "issues at home".
  • Acrofatic: Downplayed. Miriam's one of the stouter contestants in Season 1 alongside Grett, but while she doesn't show some crazy skills in gymnastics, she's also never shown having that much trouble keeping up with the younger campers herself.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Miriam's troubled home life only got a brief mention in the beta, during the same episode she was eliminated. Season 1 puts a bit more focus on the tragedy of her family, and how it severely affected her as a person.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Miriam's a little easier on the eyes in the remake; while in the original she had squinty eyes, notable wrinkles and pimples and slightly disproportionate arms, her features are slightly more subtle and softer, and her limbs are more evenly proportioned.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: She's able to see through Grett's schemes and uses her status as Hated by All to seemingly orchestrate her elimination. Compare this to her original Adventure Camp counterpart who was more of an "alliancee" than an "alliancer". Later, she sees through Fiore's attempt to make Jake fall off a cliff.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Unlike the original version of the season's Miriam, this new Miriam apparently hates all the teens for no reason and openly expresses her desire to vote Tom, Jake, Dan and Drew off as long she isn't the one eliminated when Grett and Gabby offer her to team up. Like her original version, she becomes nicer later however.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Miriam and Ellie didn't interact much in the beta. In the remake, they get a few more chances to interact, like when they discuss their concerns over Tom and Jake's relationship or when Miriam tries to shame Ellie for sabotaging their relationship just to stay in the game.
    • Miriam and Fiore didn't interact act all in the beta before the former was eliminated. Since the remake lets Miriam stick around for longer, the two end up developing a negative relationship, especially when Fiore begins targeting Jake.
    • Since Dan is the first boot of the season, he and Miriam don't really interact at all. Season 1 instead makes Dan the biggest target towards Miriam's ire.
  • All for Nothing: Subverted in the remake. In the finale, Miriam gets her prize money stolen. Unlike Ellie and Fiore in their respective Adventure Camp endings however, Miriam is able to get her money back thanks to Tom, meaning that she gets a much happier ending here.
  • Anti-Hero: While a descent person overall, she can be as underhanded as Alec and Ellie, such as when she faked a heart attack to defeat Ellie in the finale and allied with Fiore and Alec to sabotage the Cyan Team in All Stars.
  • Ascended Extra: Makes it farther than her original Adventure Camp counterpart while also receiving more character development and plot focus. In the reboot, she makes it all the way to the finale and wins while her beta counterpart is eliminated in 7th place.
  • Badass Boast: Delivers one to Grett in Episode 6 of Season 1.
Miriam: You can fool these gen-z’ers, but my generation still has a brain in our head.
  • Blackmail: After learning Alec created an alliancenote , Miriam threatens him she'll tell everybody else about it unless they agree they won't vote off her or Jake (whom she's good friends with). However, this causes her to get eliminated.
  • Blackmail Backfire: After learning he started an alliance with several other contestants, Miriam attempts to blackmail Alec that she'll tell everyone about it unless he agrees to not make them vote off her or Jake. However, Alec intentionally lost the challenge so he could get her eliminated. While Miriam spilled the beans to Connor, it didn't save her.
  • Bonding over Missing Parents: In Episode 5, she bonds with Jake over the fact that both have a deceased relative and she helps him with his grief.
  • Breaking the Cycle of Bad Parenting: Implied. It's suggested she didn't have the best parents, but she seems to have been a kind mother towards her son before his untimely death.
  • Character Development: She starts the season as a rude Grumpy Old Woman. However, as the time goes on, she develops several intergenerational friendships with the other contestants and realizes she's been judging others too quickly and too harshly.
  • Characterization Marches On: She fell asleep during the first challenge of Season 1 (although admittably it could be because of being bored by Gabby's story). Later episodes focus on portraying her as a Retired Badass, painting her old age as a virtue rather than a liability by revealing all kinds of skills she's learnt throughout her life.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Subverted. After spending most of the season playing fair and square, Miriam fakes a heart attack in order to trick Ellie into lowering her guard, allowing her to throw away her shovel and run to the finish line instead, getting Ellie out of the race. Not only does Miriam face no retribution from this, she ultimately ends up becoming the winner of the season.
  • Child Hater: Implied. She cruelly smiles when Fiore (who's six years old) gets kicked out from the Teal Team, heavily implying that she voted for her. She also refers to Dan as "this wretched child" (although he's a teenager unlike Fiore) and later seems annoyed with Fiore when she congratulates her plus several other contestants. Granted, it's later implied that she was suspicious of her because she later calls her and her ally Alec "troublemakers".
  • Crazy-Prepared: In All-Stars, the fact that there was no paper or pen to obtain at camp implies that she had brought both with herself, hiding them somewhere on her person. She then uses them to write a note, revealing the existence of the Villains' Alliance to everyone even if she is eliminated.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: In her backstory, she lost her son and husband (her only family members) and has been alone since then, which seems to be why she's so unpleasant initially.
  • Demoted to Extra: Despite being a crucial character in the remake of the first season and its winner, she's eliminated third in All-Stars.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • As much as she dislikes Fiore, she teams up with her in Episode 12 and 13 to take down Alec and Ellie respectively, who are both much bigger threats to her.
    • As much as she dislikes both Fiore and Alec, she reluctantly teams up with them to sabotage the Cyan Team in Episode 3 of All-Stars in order to save Jake, who's on the Magenta Team, from elimination.
  • For the Evulz: Beating Dan with an oar is something she apparently enjoys doing, given her smile after doing so in the opening. She also voted Fiore off for these same reasons.
  • Graceful Loser: When she is eliminated in All-Stars, she takes it well, commenting now she knows what it's like to be eliminated and warning Connor not to trust Alec before leaving.
  • Grumpy Old Woman: She's old and cranky, though the latter seems to have later dialed down. Granted, she later suggests was intentionally trying to be less cranky.
  • Hates Everyone Equally: The teens, at least, she has no love for in the remake. The beta played this more straight, as her grumpy nature was thrown at just about anybody.
  • Hollywood Heart Attack: Exploited. During the race to reach the final two in the season 1 finale, Miriam seemingly has a heart attack and falls to the ground. Ellie goes to check her... And Miriam reveals that she was faking it the whole time before she throws Ellie's shovel away, giving her enough time to cross the finish line and get Ellie out of the race.
  • Hypocrite:
    • She attempts to call out Ellie over her sabotaging Tom and Jake's relationship in order to remain in the game, and try to win the million dollars. Ellie doesn't give her the satisfaction, however, and points out that Miriam is logically also in the game to win the million, considering she's still participating.
    • She has a very It's Personal attitude towards the more strategy-oriented contestants. However, there are several moments where her own strategies are Not So Above It All, being exactly on par with the likes of competitors she has vendetta against.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: She develops a strong bond with Jake after bonding over missing relatives with him.
  • Informed Flaw: The first few episodes of All-Stars, in particular the premiere, make a couple mentions of Miriam's health not being as good as it was back in Season 1, with even Jake expressing concern about her choosing to compete again. In theory, this could be a source of drama by having Miriam's health impact her gameplay, if not cause her elimination altogether. In practice, Miriam hardly seems to have any health issues, either in gameplay or in general, and she's eliminated by getting voted out instead of suffering a medical evacuation.
  • Jerkass Realization: After Jake breaks down over the news that his grandmother has passed away, she realizes that she misjudged him and has been acting like a Grumpy Old Woman to him when he has just trying to be nice to her.
  • Jerkass to One: Miriam is grumpy with most people, but the remake makes her hold a specially irate hatred for Dan for some reason. Her target then briefly switches to Jake. Eventually, she allies with the former and befriends the latter. Now being on positive terms with them, the "one" role switches to Fiore. While she also doesn't like Grett and Alec, she shows a clear lack of regard for Fiore's well-being, having several Would Hurt a Child moments in the last episodes.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: After Jake, the last member of her alliance is eliminated, she says in a confessional that she has been tricked for the last time and she is going to take down everyone and avenge Jake and Tom.
  • Manipulative Bitch: While not to Fiore or Grett's levels, she occasionally shows she's good at manipulating others, like when she tricks several members of Cyan Team to cause them to lose a challenge, or when she convinces her own team that Alec had an alliance with her (which he didn't), to try to get Alec voted off (it doesn't work, but she still plants the seed of doubt into the team).
  • Not So Above It All:
    • While she takes moral ground over Grett and the remaining members of the final 4, she eliminates Ellie in the finale by pretending to have a heart attack to get her attention and throw away her shovel, a trick more akin to the aforementioned players.
    • In Episode 3 of All-Stars, she manipulates the girls of the Cyan Team by lying that she got separated from her team and leading them in the wrong direction, a sabotage on par with the likes of contestants she'd usually hold a personal vendetta against. In fact, in order to do so she works with Alec and Fiore, the two contestants who'd usually pull off a strategy like this.
  • Not Too Eliminated to Save the Day: She reveals the secret Villains' Alliance to the remaining contestants even after being eliminated, thanks to having written notes beforehand and having them delivered by Connor.
  • Odd Friendship: She eventually befriends Jake, the emotional boy toy, whom she used to berate the most aside from Dan.
  • Older Hero Versus Younger Villain: Following Ellie's elimination in the remake's finale, Miriam, a seventy-two year old woman, is up against Fiore, a six year old girl, for the million-dollar prize money, with Fiore being the villain of the season. Miriam manages to defeat Fiore and win the million dollars.
  • Open-Minded Parent: In a "blink and you'll miss it" moment where Miriam is showing a picture of her late husband and son, one can infer that Miriam's son was gay, and she loved him dearly.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Her son died after being run over by a car alongside her husband.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite generally being rude and cranky, she feels sorry for Jake when he becomes heartbroken over learning his grandmother passed away. She also later mentions that she feels she misjudged him as she was previously mean to him.
  • Screw Politeness, I'm a Senior!: She is the oldest member of the cast and generally acts rude and dismissive to the others, with one of her worst acts being hitting Dan with an oar. Though this is subverted later on when she opens up to Jake and the others, shedding her previous nasty personality.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: She's the third boot of All-Stars, but she's the one who reveals the secret Villains' Alliance to the remaining contestants via notes delivered by Connor.
  • Sole Survivor: Of her family after her husband and son were hit by a car.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: It's eventually revealed that the reason she's so rude and grumpy all the time is because her husband and son died due to a drunk driver, and she's been hiding her grief behind an angry persona.
  • Spanner in the Works: She eavesdrops on Alec's meeting with Grett, Yul, Ellie, and Fiore and the formation of their Villains Alliance, and attempts to blackmail Alec into never targeting her or Jake with the information. When she notices how Alec purposely throws the challenge to get her voted out, she reveals the alliance to the entire Yellow Team and declares that Alec is playing everyone by saying he is making alliances with her and Jake too. Though this isn't enough to save herself, it does plant seeds of doubt in Grett and makes Connor and eventually everyone else aware of the alliance.
  • The Strategist: She manages to play the best strategic game in Episode 12 when she manages to convince Ellie to throw the last three challenges, since if she wins, she will automatically be in the finale with Alec, who stands a better chance of beating her than either Miriam or Fiore. She also manages to turn Fiore against Alec by pointing out if they take Ellie to the finale they'll stand a better chance than if they take Alec, and they can keep working together to eliminate Ellie so they make the Final 2. It works, and not only does Ellie successfully throw all three challenges, she and Fiore both agree to eliminate Alec and take Ellie to the finale. Then in the finale when she finds herself in a tough spot when Fiore backstabs her and Ellie gets ahead of her in the race to the final challenge, Miriam fakes a heart attack to get everyone to let their guard down, and gets close enough to Ellie to throw away her shovel and race across the finish line. In the final challenge, she knows Fiore and Grett will try to sabotage her again, so she sends Tom to watch them and stop whatever they do while she digs on her own. This decision ultimately wins her the game when Tom counters the go-kart sabotage attempt by swapping the flags so Miriam gets the good one.
  • Supreme Chef: She's very talented at cooking, even being able to make "delicious" cupcakes over a campfire. This skill helps her team win in Episode 5 where the teams have to cook disgusting food. Apparently justified as she used to work in a bakery close to the countryside. Various characters even compliment her on her skills.
  • Teen Hater: She seems to hate teenagers, even calling Dan (who's a teen) "wretched" and beating him with one of their boat's oars for no apparent reason. She also smiles after knocking him off the boat into the river.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork:
    • Despite clearly not liking Fiore (who feels the same way about her), she has to work with her in Episode 12. They also later work together in All-Stars despite still feeling the same way about each other.
    • She works with Alec in the second challenge in All-Stars, although neither like each other.
  • Token Adult: She is one of the few characters who aren't around the age of teenagers or young adults, easily having the distinction of being the eldest contestant in the show.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: She starts off as grumpy and unpleasant, but starts to open up to the other campers and becomes nicer.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: In the tournament episode in the beta, she wins the first and third rounds by standing still while her opponents, Jake and Tom, throw the fight and jump into the water. The second round just barely averts this by having her push Grett into the water after she slips on a pee puddle left by Fiore.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • In Episode 11, she throws her flashlight at Fiore, knocking her down and stealing the working flashlight from her. To be fair though, Fiore had it coming and just tried to ditch her and Jake.
    • In Episode 12, she plays a role in injuring Fiore in some way in three challenges. She throws her off the cliff, she purposefully lets go of the rope when Alec and Ellie are winning to make Fiore lose balance and fall down, and throws her in the air to catch the flag from a pole.

The Rich Kid
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Michael Horowitz (Beta, English) Jor Jor (Beta, Spanish), TheKillWolfArt (Spanish), Deric Jackman (English)additional VAs
Team: Manic Raccoons (AC)/Purple Team (DC)
Placement: 4th (AC)/12th (DC)
Eliminated in: Episode 8 (AC)/Episode 4 (DC)

In some cases, however, luxuries aren't everything, right Nick? It's incredibly nice to think that money will solve all our problems. But if that's the case, why did you trade the silk linens you could easily afford for a shack in the woods? Are you sure it's all about the million bucks?

  • Achievements in Ignorance: A meta example when it comes to the beta. He was such a Forgettable Character that he managed to rank 4th overall, precisely because the creators didn't remember he was there until late in the game. The reboot takes away this by having him be eliminated fairly early on.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: He is far more snobbish in this version than in the original where his Jerkass moments came out more of ignorance than malice. He even backstabs his own alliance twice by voting out Will and voting for Lill. His unpleasantness is part of the reason why he is the third boot according to Alec.
  • Adaptational Nationality: In the remake, Nick speaks with a Spanish accent (as in, from Spain) in the original Spanish, but in the English dub, he has a British accent.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In the beta, Nick became the closest thing to an enemy to Fiore, desiring to get her out once her true colors came out. In the remake, their relationship never gets to this point because Nick buys Fiore's lie about Lill burning his stuff and never questions her, making him another guy who got duped by Fiore's deceit.
  • Age Lift: He was implied to not be much older than 19 in the original version, but he is 26 in the remaster.
  • Demoted to Extra: An interesting case. In the original, he ranked 4th place. Here, he is blindsided in episode 4 and is the third boot of the season. However, even in the original, he honestly didn’t do much to justify the placement and was only there because the writers forgot he was there most of the time, which was the likely reason for his boot being moved down so early.
  • Dumb Blond: He has blond hair and makes dumb decisions. He backstabs his own alliance twice (he tried to vote out Lill which would leave Ashley and Nick vulnerable regardless if what Fiore said about her was right) and is unpleasant towards everyone without any strategy to it, making himself very vulnerable towards blindsides. Even after Fiore makes a clear attempt to frame Lill (which Nick believed), she quickly decided to work with Ellie and Alec to boot him instead after spending the challenge with him; he was overall The Load and due to him being disliked by everyone.
  • Evil Brit: Downplayed. He has a British accent (in the English dub only, in the original he speaks with a Spanish accent) and, in a different vein to Grett, he's an Adaptational Jerkass Spoiled Brat.
  • Forgettable Character: He wasn't the most memorable character in the beta, to the point that his high ranking can be solely attributed to the fact that the creators forgot he was still in the game until later.
Tom: Bye Jake, good luck. The others...you can go to hell if you want, I don't care.
Nick: Hey, what did I do to you?
Tom: Oh, not you, sorry. I forgot you.
  • Groin Attack: During a challenge, Jake defeats him in Episode 4 via kicking his groin.
  • Hated by All: By the time he ends up eliminated, Nick had essentially become a thorn on everyone's side, with nobody mourning him afterwards. It says a lot that even Fiore has at least one person who likes her (Alec) compared to him.
  • Hate Sink: Nick is a rich and spoiled jerk who acts pompous and treats his fellow contestants like servants.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: Being unintelligent doesn't stop him being a rude Spoiled Brat.
  • Out of Focus: In the original version, he made it to the final 4 despite having very little plot significance, especially after Lill's elimination. Him being so irrelevant that he's constantly forgotten by others was even used as a Lampshade Hanging in his last couple of episodes.
  • Rich Bastard: He's arrogant, disloyal, and wealthy.
  • Ship Tease: With Lill, admiring her skills. However, it was more pronounced in the beta and didn't really go anywhere in either version.
  • Sore Loser: In quite a high contrast to the original version, he can't believe he got voted out and insults Lill upon being eliminated before pretending it doesn't affect him.
  • Spoiled Brat: The first thing he tells his teammates as they go to their cabins is to ask them if they can get his bags for him, even though everyone is busy with their own. Evidently, this guy has never done any kind of hard work.
  • The Load: He gets tired easily, loses the challenge for his team in Episode 4 (though to be fair, it was only after a Groin Attack), and would rather pay anyone to do things for him. That's one of the main reasons behind his elimination.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Of the Nick, Will, Ashley and Lill alliance. His unpleasantless is what gets him voted out.
  • We Used to Be Friends: In both the beta and the remake, Nick is one of the first people to bond with Lill, even getting some slight Ship Tease with her in the beta. Unfortunately, Nick deciding to stick with Fiore's side over Lill's causes their friendship to grow strained, especially when, in the remake, Nick completely buys Fiore's lie of Lill burning his stuff last night.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: As shown in Episode 3, he's afraid of injections.
  • Wins by Doing Absolutely Nothing: In the paintball challenge of the original Adventure Camp, Nick wins because others were too busy with their own conflicts and forgot that he was there, meaning there was no one to target him. He also didn't have to shoot anyone either, as Tom and Jake, the last remaining players in the challenge, took each other out.

The Mysterious Guy
All-Stars
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: Izaiah Cates (Beta, English), Whispa (Beta, Spanish), Edson Arzate (RyusakiDub) (Spanish), Jayce Hanson (English)additional VAs
Team: Chaotic Beavers (AC)/Teal Team (DC), Cyan Team (AS)
Placement: 6th (AC and DC), TBD (AS)
Eliminated in: Episode 6 (AC)/Episode 10 (DC), TBD (AS)

A visitor with a sun allergy, but is that the real reason why he keeps wearing a hoodie? Why did he actually come to camp? Maybe he is here in search of his love of life or his worst enemy?

  • Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder: "Ball Busters" reveals that in the interim between Season 1 and All-Stars, Tom managed to get a boyfriend even though he hadn't quite gotten over what happened with Jake. It takes him a long time to reveal this, however, and even after he does, he's not comfortable enough with Jake to talk about it, and excuses himself to somewhere else before his and Jake's conversation has a chance to continue.
  • The Ace: He's developed multiple useful skills from his mysterious past and is one of the physically strongest contestants of the season and the series overall. Dan even acknowledges that while he costed his team the challenge in Episode 3, he doesn't want to vote him out due to being their team's most useful member.
  • Act of True Love: Despite what it would mean for him, both the beta and the remake have Tom use his Immunity Totem on Jake in order to save him from elimination, despite the fact that not only would he be voted out instead, but that Jake had previously treated him badly prior.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Tom was never fired from his job in the beta, while having his cover blown causes his superiors to remove him from the mission in the remake.
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: Tom's facial scars were never revealed in the beta, but what we heard form Jake, who did see them, implied that they were pretty gruesome to look at. In the remake, we actually do get to see Tom's facial scars, but the actual damage itself isn't that bad, and in fact, Jake finds it kinda attractive.
  • Adaptational Badass: Tom's fight against Jensen in the beta was, for lack of a better term, lackluster, never even getting a hit in before Jensen runs away. The remake makes him fight against Jensen to a stand still and not only overpower him briefly, but take back the prize money he stole, something he also failed to do in the beta.
  • Adaptational Curves: He is a lot stronger and brawny than in the original version of the season.
  • Adaptational Job Change: In the beta, Tom retained his job as a spy the whole way through. In the remake, his argument with Jake causes him to lose his job, only to later become a cop at the end of the season thanks to some help from Gabby.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • He and Gabby didn't interact much beyond the first challenge in the beta. In the remake, They eventually team up after his elimination in order to investigate the animal corpses that Gabby found in a tent and near the motel the contestants are staying at.
    • He and Ellie hardly interacted in the beta. In the remake, Ellie's greater presence in regards to the Jake-Tom storyline means that the two have more of a chance to interact with one another and much like Jake, the two leave the show on bad terms after Ellie's role in his and Jake's relationship imploding is revealed, with the two being on each other's throats during All-Stars as a result of Ellie's post-show interviews slandering him alongside some other of her former campers.
  • Better the Devil You Know: When the Cyan Team goes to their first elimination ceremony in All-Stars Ellie reveals to Tom how Lake was trying to convince them to eliminate him instead of Aiden, while also painting her as the mastermind of the all girls alliance. Tom ends up voting to eliminate Lake instead of Ellie, but not because he fell for Ellie's bluffs. He knew Ellie only wanted to save him to help her own game and keep the team strong, but Lake was outright gunning for him.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He calls the police on the hosts and Jensen and prevents the latter from driving away with Miriam's prize money.
  • Blemished Beauty: Underneath his mask he hides several scars that he got from his previous mission. However, he looks fine otherwise and Jake finds him attractive even with the scars.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Tom is almost entirely decked in black, and his mysterious nature makes a not insignificsnt portion of the contestants treat him with distance, but he's ultimately a nice guy who is dedicated to his mission to investigate the showrunners' criminal activities.
  • Deep Cover Agent: He's an undercover agent who investigates what the hosts and Mr. Jensen are up to in secret while posing as just another contestant. He was also one in the original version where he investigated the kidnapping of Chris McLean.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Tom was sent to Disventure Camp in order to investigate the criminal activities of its hosts and Jensen. How does he do this? By becoming a contestant. In a reality TV show. Ellie outright calls him an idiot for this during one of her post-show interviews in All-Stars.
  • Donut Mess with a Cop: In the first episode of All-Stars, he's seen enjoying a doughnut as a policeman. He later says he gets all the doughnuts a man can ask for.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: After everything Tom went through during the season, including getting fired from his job as a spy, being eliminated from the competition, and breaking up with Jake, everything works out for him by the finale. After his elimination he helps Gabby investigate the criminal activities of Jensen and the show hosts, eventually getting enough evidence to call the cops on them, he acts as Miriam's helper in the finale and serves a major role in her victory against Fiore by countering Grett's sabotage, and he manages to save Miriam's prize money from being stolen by Jensen. He also reveals he has been offered a job as an officer for the information he gave, and he reconciles with Jake, suggesting they can try their relationship again after they both mature a bit.
  • Every Scar Has a Story: Despite being The Ace, his previous mission was a failure and his captors are responsible for the scars on his face that he used to conceal with a mask until episode 9.
  • Genius Bruiser: He's a strong, well-built man who's also The Ace, having plenty survival skills at his disposal.
  • Hero of Another Story: He was sent to the camp in order to investigate Chris' disapprarance (Beta)/investigate the criminal activities of Jensen and the show hosts (remake) and whenever he's not playing the game, he's trying to advance on his investigation.
  • Hypocrite: Back in Season 1, Tom got angry with Jake and broke up with him because Jake didn't bother explaining to him why he was angry with him. Not only did Tom cause the problem to worsen first by not telling him that their bond was genuine and instead said he didn't owe him an explanation, but later during All-Stars, it's Tom who changes the subject and avoids talking to Jake about their relationship when Jake asks him to clarify the issue.
    • In All-Stars Episode 4, he gets mad at Jake for tackling Aiden during the challenge to earn his team a point, despite earlier tripping Grett in order to score a point for Cyan team.
  • Manly Gay: He was officially confirmed to be gay during the Pride Month 2023 announcement of the show's creators, but unlike his love interest Jake, he looks a lot more masculine with his muscles and enigmatic bravado.
  • Manly Tears: After his elimination and break up with Jake.
  • Mythology Gag: In the finale, he briefly jokes that he failed to retrieve Miriam's prize money from Jensen, which is a reference to how Jensen successfully ran away with either winner's money in the beta version.
  • Never Bareheaded: In the beta, he never takes off his hood-mask combo, even wearing it while he's on his swimsuit. The one time it's removed is because Grett forcibly removed it, and even then we only get to see the back of his head. The remake initially follows this trope until Tom himself decides to remove his hood and mask to show his scars to Jake.
  • Not So Above It All: Back in Season 1, Tom came across as the more mature member in his relationship with Jake, with him trying to stay calm and be patient with Jake even when he had his episodes. All-Stars shows he can be just as petty, or at least hold a grudge as well as he does, as he comes to hate Ellie because she called him an idiot during one of her post-Season 1 interviews, even though not only did Ellie explain why she called him that (bringing up how Tom thought the best idea to infiltrate the show when he was a spy was to be a participant), but the interview happened two years ago.
  • Precision F-Strike: Despite usually not swearing, he says "Oh shit" when Trevor reads a vote against him in Episode 10 due to him realizing Fiore tricked him.
  • Poor Communication Kills: His break-up with Jake occurs because he didn't bother to explain that while he was indeed a spy on a mission, their bond was real. Instead, he claims he doesn't owe him an explanation, escalating their argument.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Manly Man to Jake's Sensitive Guy.
    • In All-Stars, he's also the Manly Man to Aiden's Sensitive Guy.
  • Skewed Priorities: All the things Ellie did back in Season 1 that hurt not only him, but Jake and Miriam? He doesn't like that stuff, but he understands it. Ellie calling him an idiot during one of the post-Season 1 interviews regarding his idea to join the show as a contestant despite being a spy? THAT crosses the line.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Tom's utterly unwilling to forgive Ellie over calling him an idiot during one of her post-show interviews two years ago, even suggesting to her that what she did was unforgivable. Though to be fair to Tom, Ellie's refusal to apologize or at least show remorse for what she said doesn't help in the slightest.
  • Trap Master: He's the one who comes up with the traps in order to gain the food for the Cyan Team during All-Stars.
  • The Unreveal: In the beta, we never get to see Tom's scars even though Grett exposes them to Jake in an attempt to drive a wedge between them.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: He's one of the only characters in the season one cast with teal eyes and, in Episode 4, Jake calls them "pretty".
  • What the Hell, Hero?: While Tom was angry but calm in the beta, the events where he's forced to use his Immunity Totem in the remake leads him to lash out at Jake, calling him out over being so easily fooled by Ellie's lies and choosing to trust her over him.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Not counting one instance in the beta where Tom chose to get himself out instead of fighting Miriam, Tom generally doesn't see an issue with getting physical with a female contestant if he's either provoked or he's left with no other choice.
  • Would Hurt a Child: During the zombie apocalypse vr scenario, Tom at one point grabs and threatens a shocked Fiore into revealing where Alec and Grett are hiding.

The Friendly Giant
Beta poster and design
Voiced by: DK (Beta, English), Chico Pay (RyusakiDub) (Spanish), Melvin Polanco (Turgize V.A.) (English)additional VAs
Team: Manic Raccoons (AC)/Purple Team (DC)
Placement: 11th (AC)/14th (DC)
Eliminated in: Episode 2 (AC and DC)

Wild survivalists in unfamiliar forests full of equally wild animals are always great! But rather not for fearful townspeople who have only seen a campfire on a TV screen. Yet, maybe our friendly giant will surprise us and return with a million in his pocket?

  • Adaptational Wimp: Will's only fear, that we knew of, in the beta was water, which was fairly troublesome even then. In the remake, he's scared of just about everything, which contributes to his early elimination.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Parts of his shoes are colored white in the reboot, instead of light green like in the original version.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Will and Ashley barely interacted before he got booted out in the beta. In the remake, they're decidedly more friendly with each other, even having some Ship Tease along the way.
  • Beta Couple: With Ashley. In contrast to the main couples of the season, their relationship is formed off-screen and they only get to showcase their Relationship Upgrade in the finale, experiencing no issues in their relationship.
  • Black Dude Dies First: Eliminated, in this case. In the remake, he's the first boot of the season, taking over Dan's spot. Not that he fared much better in the beta, being the second boot right after Dan.
  • The Cameo: He makes a brief appearance in the premiere episode of All-Stars despite not competing in the season, seeing Ashley off as she gets on the plane.
  • Cassandra Truth: In the beta, Fiore snaps at him and accidentally reveals her true nature to him out of frustration over his fear of water threatening their victory in the challenge. When he tries to tell his fellow teammates about it, nobody believes him: the closest one to do so is Lill, and even then she still has her doubts.
  • Character Exaggeration: In the original version of the season, Will was only seen to be afraid of water. Here, while doing the first eliminatory challenge (which he originally completed without problems), Will reveals to be afraid of practically everything, something that was hinted one episode ago when he mentioned having nyctophobia.
  • City Mouse: Comes from an urban area. Ashley could tell.
  • Expy: Of Total Drama contestant DJ as they are both burly black young men who are easily frightened and have gentle natures.
  • Fatal Flaw: In the beta, the second episode reveals that Will is afraid of water. This is problematic enough in a camp filled with various bodies of water, but it gets when this fear gets revealed when he's in a canoe with Fiore, causing him to row way slower than needed and give Gabby the victory.
  • Gentle Giant: He is easily the tallest contestant of the season, but treats everyone well and doesn't intimidate them with his height and strength. It's even his label.
  • Lovable Coward: He gets scared easily, but thankfully, Ashley is there to comfort him.
  • Relationship Upgrade: He and Ashley started dating before the finale and after their respective eliminations.
  • Ship Tease: With Ashley, at least in the remake.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: As a result of being the first boot of the season. Also present in the original version where he was the second boot instead.
