    Turnip Rape

Aburana/Turnip Rape

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_130301.png

No.: 30note
Rarity: ★★★★
Young Knight of Hope: ★★★★★
Formal Dress: ★★★★★★
Attribute: Pierce
Affection Item: Stuffed Animals
Language of Flowers: Cheerful Love, Rivalry
Artist: Moritan

  • Blade Spam: Her base form's Skill attack is Aiming Stance, a flurry of stabbing strikes with her rapier.
  • Expy: Of Konjiki no Yami from To Love Ru. They both share the same looks: blonde hair with Hair Intakes styling it into two-side up twintails, plus a small and petite build. Furthermore, they're both Type-A Tsunderes towards their respective love interest.
  • Irony: One of her listed flower meanings is "Cheerful Love". She has the Tsundere personality type, meaning she's rarely ever outwardly cheerful when it comes to love.
  • I Work Alone: One of her Login quotes has her claim she could get by without the Commander, then subverts this in true tsundere fashion by admitting it'd would be better if they're present.
  • Starter Mon: She's one of the four randomly chosen Flower Knights — the others being Silver Orchid, Saint Paulia, and Great Burnet — that is automatically given to the player upon logging in for the first time.
  • Tsundere: Turnip's defined by her outwardly harsh attitude in regards to her feelings, from being adverse to small talk with the commander at low affection, to haughtily demanding that the commander doesn't neglect her at high affection. Even in her "Cheer" animation she displays the arms-crossed, eyes-averted pose typical of the archetype.

    Saint Paulia

Saint Paulia

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stand_130501_m.png

No.: 31note
Rarity: ★★★★
Costumed Carefree Aristocrat: ★★★★★
Formal Dress: ★★★★★★
Attribute: Slash
Affection Items: Stuffed Animals
Language of Flowers: Friendly, Small Love
Artist: Mizuse Kiseki

  • Achievements in Ignorance: One scene in the main campaign has Saint Paulia, alongside Yellow Pansy, fall into the ice cold river waters flowing from Winter Rose. While Yellow Pansy ended up suffering a cold that led to her being bed-ridden, Saint Paulia herself was no worse for wear in the long run, with the implication that she suffered no ill effects simply because she didn't understand the consequences of falling into frigid water.
  • Dumb Blonde: She's a blonde described as an "airhead" by her own admission.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She's a blonde Kindhearted Simpleton who's gentle and considerate — even in her "angry" line, she's more apologetic than mad at the Commander.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: She has an absentminded thought process, yet she's incredibly kind at heart.
  • Nice Girl: Her Language of Flowers is "Friendly" and her personality matches the meaning of the word perfectly.
  • The Pollyanna: She's able to see the bright side of any situation.
  • Starter Mon: She's one of the four randomly chosen Flower Knights — the others being Silver Orchid, Turnip Rape, and Great Burnet — that is automatically given to the player upon logging in for the first time.
  • Super Gullible: Her character quest features her getting duped into buying an obviously broken (and impractically large) vase, with her buying into the scam artist lies of it being a magic vase with an integrity tied to one's magic level — even as the Commander plays the voice of reason and the vase proves useless in containing water, she still believes in the false narrative.

    Marguerite

Marguerite

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/portrait_130801.png

No.: 32
Rarity: ★★
Attribute: Blunt
Affection Items: Jewels
Language of Flowers: Fidelity, Predict One's Love
Artist: Unknown

  • Blue Blood: Marguerite's a noblewoman of Banana Ocean.
  • In the Blood: Discussed. While she's born into the aristocrats, she considers her job defined by her pride, not family connections.
Marguerite: Nobility is a word that means pride, not blood.
  • My Greatest Failure: In the past, the castle she lives in was invaded by Pests that snuck in from the basement, with the residents subsequently getting attacked. Because she wasn't strong enough to help the victims, Marguerite became a Flower Knight to strengthen herself and avoid the same regrets.
  • Ojou Ringlets: She's a noblewoman with two ringlet sidelocks.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: While she's an aristocrat who's a step below the actual royalty, Marguerite doesn't settle for merely being a noblewoman, taking on her Flower Knight role to prevent her prior regrets as someone less than capable. Her line upon starting a battle has her state as such:
Marguerite: I have no intention of becoming a noblewoman who only talks!

    Cactus

No.: 33note
Rarity: ★★★★★★
Bride of Phos: ★★★★★
Attribute: Blunt
Affection Item: Stuffed Animals
Language of Flowers: Burning Heart, Shy Maiden
Artist: Utsurogi Akira

  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Primarily a close-ranged, fisticuffs-themed Flower Knight.
  • Modesty Shorts: She wears shorts under her skirt.
  • The Quiet One: Because of her withdrawn nature, she speaks in a rather soft tone, which is further emphasized by her slow, blunt, yet withdrawn dialogue.
  • Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs: All of her Skill attacks across her several forms consists of her throwing a rapid flurry of punches to pulverize the foe(s).
  • Sentimental Shabbiness: Her character quest reveals that she owns the same toothbrush for many years, and is not comfortable with completely replacing it — instead replacing the brush portion once its sufficiently used or dirty, affixing a new brush to the well-worn handle.
  • Shrinking Violet: She speaks in a manner that is soft-spoken and minimal, not wanting to speak too much at a time. As to be expected from her flower meaning "Shy Maiden".

    Lily of the Valley

Suzuran/Lily of the Valley

No.: 34

Attribute: Magic
Affection Item: Books
Language of Flowers: Pure, Happiness Returns
Artist: Unknown

  • Cute and Psycho: Cutesy with her default look and pose, yet easily the most unstable of the yandere girls.
  • Flower Motifs: The Lily of the Valley is a plant that gives off a fragrant scent and is incredibly poisonous to consume. To represent the inviting yet hazardous flower, the Flower Knight is depicted as a Cute and Psycho girl.
  • Killing Intent: Hers is so powerful that both Sakura and Japanese Apricot — both powerful veteran Flower Knights — initially thought it was the presence of an incredibly dangerous and powerful Pest.
  • Laughing Mad: On occasions when killing Pests, she can give off a very psychotic laugh.
  • Light 'em Up: Her Skill attack "Blinding Light of Purification", summoning bell flowers that fire intense rays of light to "purify" the opponents.
  • Please Kill Me if It Satisfies You: At Bloomed, she requests that the Commander kill her if she disappoints them in her goal to fulfill their wishes.
Lily of the Valley: If it's by your hands, I will be... happy.
  • Pure Is Not Good: Her flower meaning is "Pure", which she cites why her love is straightforward and clear. If by straightforward she means "obsessed to the point of willing to murder", then she's spot on. Not to mention her Skill "Blinding Light of Purification", burning her foes with intense ray beams.
  • Token Evil Teammate: An unstable yandere girl who's just another Flower Knight that'll fight alongside others in a team.
  • Yandere: She's obsessed with the Commander, willing to kill anyone and anything that she sees is in the way of her love.

  • The Pollyanna: She's able to derive enjoyment out of various activities she was free to do, even in spite of said activities ending in failure, hence her flower meaning "Small Happiness."
  • Spoiled Sweet: Was raised in a rich family that gave her free rein in to play various games and activities, yet ended up an optimistic girl in spite of the general failures.
  • Weapon-Based Characterization: Violet and her younger sister both wield hammers of different sizes and overall strength, which emphasize their sibling dynamic — Violet's the Cool Big Sis with a massive hammer that's roughly half her own size, and Viola's the Big Sister Worshiper with a smaller and weaker (at least at a glace) squeaky hammer.

Yukata: ★★★★★
Attribute: Pierce
Affection Item: Books
Language of Flowers: Fortitude, Elegance
Artist: TAKTO

  • Cherry Blossom Girl: While she's technically a "Japanese Apricot Blossom Girl", she still features specific traits of the archetype to act as a Foil to Sakura. In fact, the Japanese Apricot was basically the original Sakura tree in flower viewing, prior to the increased popularity of the Cherry Blossoms.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Perpetually has her eyes shut, even for all her expressions.
  • Instant Runes: Summons runes themed after her namesake flower for her Sword Beam attack, and as makeshift platforms for her Skill attack.
  • Signature Move: Thrust of The Holy Sword: Plum Blossom, where Apricot stabs through the chosen foe multiple times at various angles, rebounding off of several Instant Runes all the while, before finishing the foe off with a single, blossom-themed strike.
  • Sword Beam: The Critical Hit variant of her normal attack has them jab their rapier through several Instant Runes to send out a beam through the opponent.

No.: 38
Rarity: ★★★★★
Attribute: Pierce
Affection Items: Jewels
Language of Flowers: Passion, Exemplary
Artist: Unknown

  • Always Someone Better: Sakura and Japanese Apricot leave Rose wondering how she's so outclassed in comparison, calling them "Talented Beasts".
  • The Perfectionist: She's obsessed with living up to her title as the "Perfect Flower Knight", trying to train herself to the limit despite always falling behind Sakura and Apricot. Putting that aside, she also has moments of trying to perfect various activities in various seasons, some cases to the point of Serious Business.
  • Royal Rapier: Rose came from an aristocrat family and her weapon is a rapier.

    Sakura

No.: 39note
Rarity: ★★★★★★
Apron: ★★★★★
Attribute: Magic
Affection Items: Cake
Language of Flowers: Incredible Beauty, Fair Complexion
Artist: TAKTO

One of two Flower Knights who are the strongest of their nation, an onee-san girl who is adored by many.
  • Beam Spam: The Critical Hit variant of her normal attack has her fire magic blasts from her guns in an alternating yet rapid manner.
  • Cherry Blossom Girl: Naturally for somebody who's named Sakura, themed after the Cherry Blossom trees in her design and Fantastic Firearms, and colored pink of various shades, she definitely qualifies as this.
  • Foil: To her friend Japanese Apricot. Both are strong Blossom Hill Flower Knights themed after trees that bloom into pink petals, with them naturally sharing the Cherry Blossom Girl traits. In terms of how they view their strength, Apricot feels she's always one step behind Sakura (even initially feeling jealous of her overwhelming talent), while Sakura by contrast thinks that Apricot is stronger than her.
  • Mage Marksman: Sakura's a Magic attribute Flower Knight who attacks with a pair of rifles that fire Cherry Blossom-themed magic blasts.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: She has heterochromia eyes, one pink and one green, to signify her as a powerful magically-oriented Flower Knight.
  • Mighty Glacier: Fairly high distribution of HP, Attack and Defense, with some incredibly potent self-Status Buffs once bloomed. The only stat that's lacking is her Movement Speed at 335, roughly half the average speed among the Knights.
  • Speed Blitz: In spite of her movement speed on the field being rather slow, Sakura's capable of Motion Blur levels of speed in combat, typically whenever she dashes to an opponent and back.

No.: 41
Rarity: ★★
Attribute: Magic
Affection item: Jewels
Language of Flowers: Pride, Strong Vanity, Shyness
Artist: Unknown

  • Compulsive Liar: She lets her "Strong Vanity" get the better of her by making herself habitually lie, from missing a magic shot and trying to cover it up as a warning shot, to claiming that she's good at cooking and sewing when asked about her talents. And when asked about what other lies she's told:
Amaryllis: Ah, I didn't say anything else! ...I'm sorry, that's a lie. I've said that I don't have any likes or dislikes, and I can fight with things other than magic. Oh, and that I also have a wonderful lover... [sigh]
  • I Meant to Do That: Her first showcase of her habitual lying in her character quest is when she whiffed a shot from her pistol, claiming she deliberately did so as a warning shot to scare off the Pests.
  • Slave to PR: While she ultimately hates doing so, she feels the need to maintain her aristocratic image by covering her faults with compulsive lies that make her appear better than she actually is.

No.: 42
Rarity: ★★★★
Attribute: Magic
Affection Item: Stuffed Animals
Language of Flowers: Eternal Youth, Immortality
Artist: kinokomushin

  • Flower Motifs: The Chamaecyparis obtusa has a naturally slow growth rate, growing 1 to 6 inches per year, in contrast to the average tree's 13 to 24 inches. This equates to Hinoki having a chronic sleeping disorder, along with possibly being long-lived.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: She has the slowest movement speed of any character by far, at a mere 200, due to her Sleepyhead nature.

The greedy member of the Acacia Corps.
  • BFS: She wields a massive and heavy-looking sword that's almost as tall as herself from the blade alone, and the weight of said sword doesn't stop her from rapidly swinging it for her skill attack.
  • Ms. Vice Girl: One of her Languages of Flowers is Greed, and while she has that kind of nature to her, it's offset by her strive to work hard. Discussed in her Library Introduction, noting that her greedy nature can be taken to be not necessarily bad, citing herself to be as hardworking and ambitious for what she wishes like anyone else.

  • Character Tics: She leaves her hand outstretched open in her idle.
  • Cosmic Motifs: She has a cluster of stars around her cape.
  • Love Hurts: Broadly feels this, but particularly platonic in context; She forsakens the feeling of happiness and love for her goal of eliminating pests, preferring to work alone without caring for others. Back then, when her brother and their friend was attacked by a Pest, she took priority over the former's safety yet left the latter to die when she save her brother, souring their relationship from then on. Seeing the way her brother felt after the fact, she's decided that she doesn't need to be driven by love to avoid any more selfish decisions to hurt those she cares for.
Crowea: If you're in so much pain, if you're so sad... Then I don't need love!
  • Named After Somebody Famous: The namesake's genus was named by James Edward Smith in 1798 to honor James Crowe, a British surgeon who's well-versed in collecting and cultivating as many species of the plant genus Salix.
  • Shout-Out: Her overall fighting style homages the series Fist of the North Star, with her stature and ensemble resembling Thouzer. In particular, her skill attack is based on Thouzer's Heaven-Soaring Cross Phoenix technique, flying up with outstretched arms, before striking the opponent with an explosive dive kick.

Language of Flowers: Burning Desire, Wisdom, Respect
Artist: Huei Naduki

A member of the Transportation Mission Special Unit, Acacia Corp. While she previously lived in Winter Rose alongside her sister, Salvia, she left to live in Blossom Hill to join with the transportation unit after being saved by the aforementioned group from a pest ambush.
  • Not So Above It All: She may be Wise Beyond Her Years and a generally more grounded individual in the context of other knights, she still the young sibling of Salvia, showcasing that "Burning Desire" of hers when she engages in an impromptu ice cream eating competition alongside her sister in the Yonkoma.
  • Rings of Death: She wields a pair of chakrams embedded with several spikes.
  • Wise Beyond Her Years: While she appears to be a young girl, Acacia saying that she's likely to be the next commanding officer of Acacia Corp is not just a complement — having the knowledge of treating individuals poisoned from consuming wild plants, and being able to know her priorities at a moments notice when it comes to transporting goods and helping individuals in need.

    Dahlia

Dahlia

No.: 103
Rarity: ★★★★★
Attribute: Slash
Affection Item: Books
Language of Flowers: Brilliant, Elegant, Unstable
Artist: Moneti

One of the founding members working for the Acacia Corps, a former mercenary who hates Flower Knights.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Played With. After being burnt out by her Miscarriage of Justice and subsequently being mistrustful of any Flower Knight, along comes Acacia, who she comes to trust due to being a nice girl with no dark secrets. While she dedicates to her job as a cross-country delivery service thanks to Acacia, going out of her way to thank them via a gift is something she's unable to bring herself to do, out of fear of potentially losing faith in them.
  • Broken Bird: Played With. Her experience with betrayal and mistrust has made her closed off and standoffish, and she would've stayed that way if she hadn't met Acacia, which just further complicates her fear of betrayal to the point she wishes to avoid this trope a second time, despite wanting to express her gratitude in some fashion.
Dahlia: Isn't it strange? My language of flowers is "Brilliant", "Elegant", and "Unstable". My heart, my beliefs, everything is wavering. I'm always, always unsteady.
  • Miscarriage of Justice: She was once accused of a crime she didn't commit, with nobody believing her side of the story, resulting in her being ostracized and shaping her viewpoint of Flower Knights being untrustworthy.
  • Never Be Hurt Again: Ever since her false crime, she views Flower Knights as those who "smile on the outside, but are dark on the inside". Acacia seems to be an exception, but Dahlia still keeps herself at arms length — doing her job as part of the Acacia Corps, yet never going out of her way to express any care to the one she truly trusts, fearing that Acacia's not what they seem.
  • Sinister Scythe: Being the one Acacia Corps member with a shady past, she's equipped with a scythe as her main weapon.

  • Blank White Eyes: One of her unique, character-exclusive expressions shown in the story campaign is this troubled look, occurring after Christmas Rose witnesses the aftermath of a snowman genocide.
  • Developer's Foresight: One of her movement animations is of her rolling a large snowball, with it getting bigger the longer the animation plays. If the animation is played out for long enough — only possible by having Christmas Rose as team lead and waiting on the field before starting the mission proper — the snowball will become many times bigger than Christmas Rose in mass until reaching the size cap.
  • Holiday Motif: She's a reindeer girl with a love for snowmen who wields a candy cane Magic Staff, as to be expected from a "Christmas Rose". Her namesake is even called as such from an old christian legend of a girl who cried over not having a gift for the Christ child, with her tears causing the flower to sprout.

And yet despite the circumstances, she's come to believe the saying "if happiness exists, we should bring it into our lives", and decided from then on to follow that mentality to brighten the atmosphere of her home and anyone around her.
  • Prone to Tears: Despite being an otherwise optimistic girl who seeks to turn sad memories happy, she has her moments of uncontrollably crying, whether from seeing kids playing happily, or reading a story that makes her feel emotional — namely good and wholesome stories, not so much the sad stories.

  • Breast Expansion: Her parents apothecary business allegedly made a drug that "reallocated flesh from the rear into the breasts". This is naturally regarded with scrutiny by Apricot when she brings it up in her first Affection line, but by her character quest she would go on to possibly create the concoction after a bout of A-Cup Angst, with the Commander stopping her from drinking it under the belief that she was gonna kill herself.

The Myosotis flower is often used in funerary portraits to remember deceased loved ones, and is also used as a general symbol of remembrance in certain countries for the lives lost in the world wars.
  • Heartbroken Badass: She was previously a very talented Flower Knight, who had lost her lover to pest attack during a mission, changing her and affecting her abilities; she's still capable, but her true strength has since been lost.
  • The Mourning After: Going from an otherwise capable and confident Flower Knight to losing her prior strength and vigor, the loss of her prior knight commander has greatly affected Forget-Me-Not psychologically. Even in present day, she maintains a forlorn look to her.
  • My Greatest Failure: In spite of the long-lasting angst she feels, she wishes to not lose another Knight Commander like before.

Because of this, and the resulting nightmares of the incident, she went from her prior "selfish" self and became an Extreme Doormat.
  • Fishing for Sole: Two/third's of the time, she's fishing up junk other than chocolate fish in her skill attack, which includes a (massive) boot and a Chibi Nazuna.

But unlike the other three, who drink out of joy, Pitcher Plant in particular drinks out of necessity, since her constitution makes her very breath Pest bait, to which she regularly masks through alcohol.
  • Flower Motifs: Her namesake is a carnivorous plant which draws insects into its inviting cavity with nectar, before trapping and digesting those that fall into its "pitcher". The Flower Knight works in a similar manner by exhaling a specially scented breath (which she normally masks via alcohol) in order to attract Pests, then catch them in her pitfall traps.

  • Coat Cape: Wears a white coat with multiple keys attached within, which (aside from the flower motif in regards to the keys) she likely sports for stylistic purposes relating to her Gyaru Girl fashion sense.
  • D-Cup Distress: Downplayed. Cowslip has instances of clothing not fitting her or being hard to wear because of her bust size, something she cites as a weakness, but she's also quick to note that she doesn't dislike them because she gets to play around and use them.
  • Flower Motifs: Cowslip flowers are also known as 'St. Peter's keys' or 'keys of heaven' due to their one-side flower heads resembling a key set, along with the legend that they grew where the Key of Earth was dropped by St. Peter. Hence why this girl features multiple keys on her along with her skill attack being "Unlocking Technique - Heaven's Gate".
  • Gyaru Girl: She's the Kogal type of gyaru girl, dressing in a sorta-schoolgirl uniform that's more "showy" than normal.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She's gifted in her BWH measurements, dressing in a skimpy schoolgirl outfit that shows off as much cleavage as possible, along with a rather short skirt for her thighs. Both fanservice aspects are naturally absent/less pronounce in the Mobile ports, but regardless of the version, Cowslip's pride in her bust and the subsequent flirty use of it remains.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her family was killed in a Pest attack, leaving Cowslip to be tossed around to living with her other relatives. Said relatives want nothing to do with her.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: While Cowslip is already The Tease with a fanservice-y design, she leans into outright nudity with her choosing to sport a monokininote  in one of her summer lines.

This all culminates in her Affection scene, where despite having the Commander at her mercy, she's ultimately unable to follow through on the action due to how attached she's become.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Her quest for vengeance turns out to be for naught, as the Commander revealed upon looking into the reports that they weren't responsible for the Pest subjugation that indirectly killed her parents, meaning Spring Star was targeting the wrong guy the whole time.
  • Sympathetic Murderer: While her act of murdering the Commander is only preemptively exclaimed with no direct follow up (or any at all due to her eventual attachment), she still wishes to do so because of them allegedly causing her parents death indirectly.

  • The Klutz: She's prone to being a "screw up", often to the point of underestimating her own capabilities and wishing to not distrupt the harmony of the units around her. Her becoming a Flower Knight is an attempt at amending her klutzy ways and not let her younger siblings worry about her.

  • Love Hurts: She once had a crush on somebody who was "more than friends, less than lovers", and tried to confess their feelings to them one day. However, that person had already been in a relationship with another girl, with Ceanothus feeling heartbreak for the first time in her life from this revelation, becoming a more introverted person as a result. Anachusa wears cow print stockings in her base form (with the pattern manifesting as other clothing items in her Evolutions), is accompanied by a small baby cow as her animal companion, and of course there's the unsubtle yet unspoken gag about her bust.

Though, she's at least considerate enough to not harass somebody out of the blue without consent.

  • D-Cup Distress: An autumn seasonal line has her confess that she avoids overeating so her bust doesn't get any bigger, making it hard for her to work, move around, and causing stiff shoulders. Another seasonal line, this time for spring, mentions being unable to find clothes that fit her size.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: Her general atmosphere unsettles the average individual, with her ghastly appearance (unkempt hair, pale skin, and Creepy Shadowed Undereyes) making her hard to approach, which is not helped by her tone of voice and Chuunibyou behavior painting her as unstable. But regardless of all that, she's actually a talented doctor who's compassionate for treating the sick and injured, sometimes free of charge.

Notably, she moves away from this trope once she gets her Evolution, the reason being that she managed to buy the resulting ensemble for the first time.

She's the daughter of a noble family that has since been reduced to just her with the death of her parents, who wishes to avoid an Arranged Marriage in favor of searching for her own apple of her eye. And with this journey, along with learning of her long lost ancestral family, she would go on to become a Flower Knight to pursue her resolve to protect those in need and restore her lost lineage.
  • Magical Accessory: Her brooch pendant originating from her Kodaibana decendents. While just for the most part a trinket with a connection to her ancestor's past, its inner power awakens in response to Meconopsis' resolve to protect a carriage from some Pests, granting her a temporary and weak World Flower blessing to help combat the threat until other Flower Knights arrive. The brooch even serves as her special equipment for increasing her stats.
  • Love Before First Sight: She has chosen Blossom Hill's Knight Commander as her future husband due to tales of their accomplishments, including the resealing of Nidhoggr with the famous Solar Blade of fairy tale legend, and thus spends much of her sub-mission quest trying to meet up with them.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her story starts with her parents dead, along with the conflict of land inheritance problems as a result.
  • Single Line of Descent: Her family is descended from the royal family that lived in Kodaibana a thousand years ago, with that family having long since been wiped out with Kodaibana's destruction outside of a sole survivor — with Meconopsis being the latest heir to the Kodaibana throne in modern day, kicking off the motivation to restore her lineage.
