Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

In the Pantheon, Halloween fast approaches, costumes are being prepared, and Jack Skellington is working overtime to trump last year's celebration. And some have plans to put on pranks of epic proportions.

I forgot the feedback I was given before. Can that someone repeat it, please?

Born, God of Railroaded Player Characters Taking Blame

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nihilumbra_born.png
  • While it's implied he can take on any form he likes, but just never had a reason to, Born takes the vague shape of a scarecrow, but around two feet shorter.
  • With his color powers, Born can change the color of certain surfaces/solids (and not midair), changing their properties, though only a limited amount can be placed at a time. They can also be removed by lava.
    • Light Blue works like Frictionless Ice. Born runs faster on it. Heavy objects on it can he moved with comparative ease as well.
    • Green allows for bouncing of projectiles or oneself, but never when you're starting off from it.
    • Brown hampers movement and counters suction, but also masks noise from underground dwellers. It also allows Born to stick to a wall and jump off it if the wall is brown.
    • Red burns and destroys those that stay on it for too long, and serves as its only means of attack. Born can survive it for a short time, alleviated by constantly jumping off of it, but even that is a temporary measure and Born will need to rest elsewhere lest he burn up, too. It can also enrage fireflies to emitting more light, and agitate mounted guns to firing faster.
    • Yellow generates electricity and can be used to temporarily connect power generators to appliances.
  • There are those who dislike Born due to the destruction wrought from his flight from the Void, but there are those who give justification to his actions, stating that as a recently-born entity, he had no sense of morality, only a will to live. And ultimately, he set things right after the Void was convinced to leave him alone and righted the wrong he did by somehow getting the Void to bring back the worlds it consumed trying to reclaim Born.

Christiane Génessier, Goddess of Miraculously Uninjured Eyes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/christianegenessier.jpg
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: Her mask and white doves
  • Theme Song: "Thème Romantique"
  • Alignment: True Neutral initially; Neutral Good later
  • Portfolio: Had her face destroyed due to a car accident, except for the eyes, became dead to the world, somewhat creepy but not a bad person, The Woobie, turns against her father and saves a girl from becoming another victim of his face transplants
  • Domains: Faces, Eyes, Sadness
  • Allies: The Phantom of the Opera, the Freaks, Edward Scissorhands, Quasimodo, Amélie Poulain, Rowf and Snitter, House of Canines
  • Opposes: Alfred Drevis
  • Complicated Relations: Sean Archer and Castor Troy, Aya Drevis
  • Christiane Génessier is a young woman whose face became horribly disfigured in a car crash. Her father, a physician, felt responsible for her condition and endeavoured to find a way to give her a new face. Unfortunately the way he settled on was kidnapping young women with the help of his assistant Louise, and remove their faces without their consent. The transplants weren't successful and the victims either were murdered or committed suicide. So Christiane, fed up with her isolation and feelings of guilt for what her condition brought on, murdered Louise and freed the dogs her father used for experimentation, who proceeded to maul him to death. Now free from her confines, but with no hope of having a normal life, Christiane left for parts unknown.
  • Christiane kept walking in the company of several doves with no specific goal in mind and only occasionally wondered what was to become of her. At some point she came across a strange man in black and wearing a mask not unlike hers, who introduced himself as the Phantom of the Opera. He told her he understood the pain of living with a ruined face (he showed her his own to prove it) and having to hide away from the world, and that she might find a new purpose in life if only she would follow him. Though initially frightened, Christiane figured there was nothing left for her except dying, so she went with him, and that's how she entered the Pantheon. The Phantom kept her around as an underling of sorts for a time until the Main House took notice of her and gave her her own temple, which is based on how her eyes remained improbably unharmed and clear, showing her humanity despite the gravity of her disfigurement.
    • At her ascension, Sean Archer and Castor Troy found it fitting to have a temporary truce while they went and paid their respects to Christiane, as her tale had a high influence on theirs. Christiane appreciates their reverence for her and all (well, she does Sean's, but she's not crazy enough to say anything that could possibly upset Castor), but mostly she thinks their eternal quarrel with each other makes them rather frightening to deal with and thus keeps away from them.
  • Nothing about her temple particularly stands out (she didn't care for her home to be replicated, due to the bad memories), except for the fact that it appears to be surrounded by doves and dogs at all times, acting as a deterrent to ill-intentioned deities. Those are the animals that Christiane released when she rebelled against her guardians, and they followed her into the Pantheon out of gratitude to her. She relates to them since she also felt like she was stuck in a cage since her disfigurement, as she could never leave her house. Besides that, the animals are also completely unfazed by Christiane's looks and accept her affection, which is one of the few things that brings her joy in her condition.
  • Naturally, the House of Health and Diseases offered Christiane the chance to have her face reconstructed. While she was seriously tempted, she ultimately refused because she feels that someone like her deserves to live with the face she has now forever, after causing the suffering and death of several girls and killing her father and mother figure like an ingrate (not entirely true, but that's what she believes). Consequently she tends to hole up in her temple, both to avoid the judging gazes of the other deities and because she still thinks most would be disgusted at her condition.
  • Due to her alliance with the Phantom of the Opera, it wasn't long until she came into contact with the Freaks. In their case, most of them have had their deformities from birth, but that didn't stop them from adopting Christiane as one of their own, given her condition meant she could easily face the same prejudices as they have, and she could definitely use a sturdy support network. Christiane is happy to be accepted by them, especially given they behave like a true family. She even looks up to Hans as a sort of father figure (the Phantom's tendencies for the overdramatic make him less reliable in that regard), and he in turn tries to teach her to own her disfigurement.
  • Has made friends with Edward Scissorhands and Quasimodo after meeting them through the Freaks. For the longest time they've led quite lonely lives due to people being fearful of or disgusted by their unusual traits, so Christiane can relate a lot to them, especially Edward who was never accepted by his neighbors and lived out his life far away from everyone. However Quasimodo's story gives her hope that one day she too will be able to walk among people without fear of their reactions to her condition. In the meantime she regularly visits them to admire their ice sculptures and wood carvings, respectively, and has even taken up those activities as a hobby to while away the lonely hours.
  • Christiane's sad life caught the attention of Amélie Poulain, and as usual when running into luckless people, the waitress decided that she would do anything in her power to make Christiane's life even a tiny bit happier. Since Amélie was the first person without disfigurements or deformities to show serious interest in befriending Christiane, she was fairly taken aback at first, but considering how long she's craved social contact and Amélie's acceptance of her, it wasn't difficult for a friendship to be established. Christiane serves as a pretty good Cloudcuckoolander's Minder to Amélie.
  • Her affection for her dogs and actions to free them from her father has gotten her appreciation from the House of Canines, though she's not close to any of their members in particular. It's a different story with Rowf and Snitter (who don't live in that House). They conversed with Christiane's dogs and learned about how she saved them from a grisly fate in Animal Testing. As victims of that practice, Snitter decided she was an angelic human, and Rowf also begrudgingly conceded she was pretty decent. They often hang around her temple as guard dogs, and Christiane shows them much the same love and care as she does her other dogs, even with Rowf still being skittish around her (though considerably less so than with other human deities).
  • Was rather disturbed after hearing of the Drevis family drama. She sees something of herself in Aya, what with her being the daughter of an unhinged doctor who accepted his... eccentricities for a time. The fact that Aya may or may not grow up to be nearly as bad as her father makes Christiane wonder if she too would follow her father's footsteps if she had not turned on him. As for Aya's father Alfred, Christiane disapproves of his activities entirely, hating how he made so many people suffer horribly like her own father made innocent young women suffer.

I wasn't trying to use popularity as an excuse to ascend a character. I was merely pointing out a coincidence or possible explanation for how previous characters ascended.

Guess who's back. Back again. Nightman's back. Tell a friend.

So here's my first draft of Cool Cat. The other first draft I posted a year earlier doesn't exist. Maybe this time I'll finally get a profile done.

Cool Cat, God of Memetic Molesters

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/index_45.jpg
  • Opposes: Beat
  • Conflicting Opinion: Jimmy Hopkins
  • Complicated Relationship: I Hate Everything
  • Cool Cat is, well, a cat that lives in California with his parents, Mama Cat and Daddy Derek (who may or may not also be a cat). He's perhaps best known for his dislike of bullies, which was best shown with his multiple conflicts against Butch the Bully. He stopped Butch from picking on his friend Maria, stealing candy from other kids, and bringing a gun to school so he can steal everyone's lunch money (yes). He also starred in the Hollywood Parade with his father and even won a writing contest for his children's book, Trolley the Trout.
  • His tale of ascension was... interesting, to say the least. He was just a another character from a low-budget flick, until one day, a couple of internet reviewers broaden his exposure. Cool Cat was very excited about being a god, but there was a catch. The GUAE noticed that Cool Cat is supposed to be a kid and plays with other children, but he's played by an adult in a cat suit. This lead to many lewd jokes about him on the internet, so they picked Memetic Molester for his trope without his approval. Cool Cat was not happy about being seen as a pedophile to most of the Pantheon, and is currently convincing the Court of the Gods for another trope.
  • If there's one thing he's made clear, it's that he doesn't like bullies, so he wasn't too happy to some in the Pantheon, all of which were tougher than Butch. The first bully he saw was Nelson Muntz, who Cool Cat called out for beating up the nerds. Nelson obviously didn't care and gave the feline a wedgie. Cool Cat then went to Biff Tannen and chewed him out for all of the crap he gave to Marty McFly (unaware of the way worse things he did), to which Biff responded by sending him to the garbage dump. The final bully he had beef with was Eric Cartman, who he didn't like for giving Kyle all of those terrible names (again, oblivious to the outright sadistic crimes he'd done). Cartman "realized" what he had done and sent Cool Cat a "thank-you gift" by setting his entire temple on fire while he was asleep!
  • Believe it or not, Cool Cat wrote some songs and got into singing and even rapping. He performed over at the House of Music hoping to impress the artists there and increase awareness of bullying, but his show was met with mixed reception, with one of the highlights being a well-received remix of "Cool Cat Rap Master" featuring Snoop Dogg.

Born could interact with Martin Walker, who's game also involved the player being blamed for railroaded actions (Yes, I was aware of the drama).

Ciggma could interact with Walter White, who took to crime because of his terminal cancer, he could relate to himself turning to crime to collect money for his ailing daughter.

@Oldlady

Cool Cat hates guns, so he wouldn't be a fan of the Firearms subhouse and evil gun users.

The Courier again, with more stuff added in this time. Anything to say here?

The Courier, The Messenger of the Gods (Courier Six, The Grim Fucking Reaper)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lr_courier_4.jpg
  • Intermediate Deity
  • Symbols: The Platinum Chip. Alternatively, a Joker depicting their buried hand.
  • Theme: Main Title - Fallout: New Vegas
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Delivery People Who get the job done Even after getting shot in the head twice, Those unhindered by death, Legendary figures who were formerly ordinary schmucks, Cunning and pragmatism, You Are Number 6, Getting their brain, spine, and heart removed and replaced with cybernetics, Unstoppable Mailman, Viva Las Vegas!, Wild Cards, Destroyer of one's Hometown, Creating the Divide
  • Domain: Delivery, Commerce, Endurance, Travel
  • Followers: Peregrine Medicant, Gordon Krantz, Couriers
  • Heralds: Their companions
  • Allies: Yes Man, Joshua Graham, The Sole Survivor, The Dogmeats, The Dovahkiin, The Mysterious Stranger, Arthur Maxson, Joel and Ellie, The Man With No Name, John Marston, Jesse McCree, The Eight Travelers
  • Enemies: Father Elijah, The Enclave, Sundowner, The Dark Brotherhood
  • Wary towards: The House of Plants
  • Conflicting Opinion on: The Think Tank
  • Legendary figures in the Wasteland can come from all sorts of backgrounds. The Vault Dweller for example was a randomly selected vault inhabitant sent out to find a new water chip who's journey ended up leading to them defeating the Master and his supposed Master Race comprised of hulking mutated humans. Then you have the Malpais Legate, Joshua Graham, who started out as a mormon that got swept up in Caesar's ego and bloody conquest among the many tribes in Arizona where they soon turned Westward. And then you have Courier Six, a wastelander who has been all around the irradiated lands. But things took a turn when a chairman looking for a platinum chip came running and capped them in the head and buried in a shallow grave. One recovery and a revenge story later and they soon became the nail in the coffin to New Vegas', and by extension the Mojave Wasteland's overall future.
  • Way back when in the early days and nights did deities were discussing how their deliveries were going. The service was passable, but as the Pantheon grew to accommodate the ever expanding populace and their individual needs did things start to be come quite a problem. To say nothing of how the roads became ever so more turbulent. The Court of Gods started to take notice and find such a deity for the job. With how diverse the Pantheon is, they needed couriers who could walk from hell and back since the terrain is pretty diverse. It wasn't until a stranger came into the House of Commerce looking to rest was the search for such a deity to represent them all was concluded. Though they only came here because it was simply where the road took them they didn't hesitate on being the Pantheon's courier, even with all the continuous oddities.
  • Recall that they decided the future of the Mojave Wasteland: The final decision for this came down to who they chose to stand by in the Second Battle For Hoover Dam. And before you say or ask anything, don't bother asking who they sided with. It's practically an enigma as to what exactly happened, and for one reason or another the Courier seems to be keeping a tight lip on that particular subject. Opinions obviously vary. Some say they went with NCR while others say they went to House or for themselves. At the very least it is narrowed down to those three options if their distrust towards Roman and Roman-esque deities are anything to go off of.
  • After a while in their stay they soon came across faces from the Wastes both familiar and new. The Courier was quite glad to have met Yes Man and Joshua Graham again, even if the former planned what should have been their death. The feelings are reciprocated, with Yes Man eager to being their number once more while Joshua Graham was thankful for them making him realize his vengeance has twisted him and his faith when he was about to execute Salt-Upon-Wounds. While walking around the House of Beast they came across a robotic canine companion of theirs, Rex, along with fellow hound Roxie and their cyberpups following the three Dogmeats in a rundown gas station. In meeting with the three Post Apocalyptic Dogs the Courier met with another seasoned wastelander, the Sole Survivor. When they meet it's been said they exchange various stories from their journeys. As for the rest...
    • While walking with the Sole Survivor they meet up with Arthur Maxson when his Chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel came to the Pantheon with his airship. While they were on guard they did come to better trust Arthur Maxson after getting to know the man himself and his motivations and ideals a bit better. Mind you, the Brotherhood was still a bit of a topic after one of their companions, Veronica, left them under very bad terms. Said bad terms being the Brotherhood trying to kill her under the suspicion Veronica might reveal their secrets after leaving them after it was made clear they are not going to change their ways even if condemns them to fading away.
    • It took only a familiar riff and the fragmentation of what was once an assailant's arm for the Courier to realize the Mysterious Stranger was here too, assisting them from the shadows and disappearing just as quickly. Even in a place like the Pantheon, he's got their back. One-Hit Kill magnum and all.
    • Mobius of the Think Tank was quite happy when he heard the Courier was here though the package courier found it hard to reciprocate the sentiments. Though the wastelander helped him and his friends, after getting their organs removed and having to deal with the "tag-teamed by giant fuckbots crater" they would honestly not want to come back unless it's to prevent its Science! from falling into various, unmoral hands of other gods. Didn't stop them from cultivating it and its secrets on the positive side of things for years to come, however.
  • Not all from their world were friendly faces, of course. The Courier, while investigating the Treasures, came across a collared group of gods put together by Father Elijah to raid the place of any technology deemed unfit and misused by "children". The once Elder of the West Coast Brotherhood of Steel Chapter still remembers suffocating to death in the Sierra Madre Vault and cannot wait to repay them the favor on his dying breath. After some research into their deeds much of the Enclave has deemed the Courier a major threat to them and their goals. Though they themselves have met with former members that won't let them impede in them fighting back against one of the wasteland's greatest threats in the form of onyx black power armor and deadly patriotism for a country that fell long, long ago.
  • Despite their main stay being apart of this place's postal service they also found themselves filling a bunch of other jobs due to their wide array of skills. Back then they worked as a sort of additional security for the House of Commerce, usually for when Sundowner was causing a bit of trouble. At times they'll also be a functioning doctor in the House of Health and Diseases or an effective drill sergeant in the House of War. The Courier even worked as a hunter, bounty or no, and can be sometimes be seen hanging around the House of Hunters.
  • In drifting from place to place one may catch them talking up with the likes of John Marston, Jesse McCree, or the Man With No Name. This in due to the Mojave and the surrounding wasteland around it being in a sort of New Old West. That, and they're good company. This fact is also true for when the Courier and the Eight Travelers that traveled Orsterra and they especially get along with Primrose and Alfyn. From one vengeance seeker to another, they admit Prim did a job well done. As for Alfyn if it wasn't for the aid of a doctor the Courier would be half buried in an unmarked grave outside of Goodsprings. Having said that they do wonder why all of them suddenly at times flip their switch, so to speak.
  • Although the Courier is noteworthy for a variety of things but the one that stuck with many gods goes to them surviving being shot in the head twice at point blank range. As a resulting feat kick starting their career this was before they had any cybernetics or any enhancements (long story) and was an otherwise normal human being who's only feats to name are working mail service in a post apocalyptic world. When asked, the Courier would just simply smirk and say:
    Courier: "I got better."
  • They have considered at point joining up on one of the Alliances and while some of the available ones offer something interesting, they have plans of their own in the works with the help of a certain optimistic automaton. Though it'd be tougher to try and pull something since a) the Pantheon has a lot tougher folks than in the Mojave and b) it has been done before. Thus, they prefer not to entangle themselves too deeply in the Pantheonic alliance politics. That, and they already had their fill with what the Wasteland had offered - the good and most certainty the bad. Oh, but don't take it as though they want to finally settle down with all the adventuring, not even close. Trouble seems to be a recurring friend of theirs.
  • When the Courier heard there was House of Plants they were unusually cautious. One might think that someone who's sights is 78% of the time dusty empty brown dirt and sand they would at least welcome the change of pace but to the Courier that is simply not the case. It all goes back to a place called Vault 22, a vault in which the plants kill. Long story short, the underground bunker experimented with vegetation and the resulting spores in the air killed and transformed the Vault's inhabitants into Spore Carriers which soon spread out into areas like Zion Canyon. Though they understand things are different with the House holding many benign beings this does little to dispel their guard. Joel and Ellie, having lived in a world that collapsed from Cordyceps fungi, very much understand where they are coming from with this.
  • Once, a god contacted the Dark Brotherhood to have them take the Courier's life. No stranger to both ambushes and hit squads they dealt with their would-be killers accordingly. Yet the Brotherhood is persistent for they sent assassin after assassin learning from their previous siblings failings in hopes of felling the Courier themselves, yet such a day proves too far flung into the future to even see. While the Brotherhood is patient in how truly satisfying it would be to finally send the package courier's soul to their gods while their target, meanwhile, is more than happy to let them go see their gobbledygook god first.
  • It's been said that they'll go and seduce Anything That Moves. Men, women, ghouls, robots, the guy who shot themnote , little is off the table. Not even their own brain. Yes, you read that right. Their own disembodied, speaking and well-educated brain. It is, quite unsurprisingly, mortified by their lows. Especially since they found out it could talk only a few minutes ago. And argued with it over a bunch of different things. On a less disturbingly funny note there have been some rumors that the Courier's licentiousness, when it comes to the male one that is, may have caused them to be a runaway father with a 17 year old son on their trail. That's about as much you'll get out of them, any more and they'll just shoot down the topic.
  • There once lived two small towns by the name of Hopeville and Ashton built over the remains of various long abandoned nuclear missile bases and silos. Though small, both soon came to flourish through delivered supplies and there came the promise of rebuilding. So much so that two wasteland superpowers sought its interest as a growing supply line. By unwitting circumstance one of deliveries made there contained an Eyebot which sent codes to the dormant payloads below the ground transforming the landscape into something that even the wastes would call hell on earth: The Divide. And the Courier was responsible for that. And the consequences turned out to be a hell of a lot worse, dictating how the First Battle for Hoover Dam played out and teaching an important someone that one person can make or break entire nations.
  • Narrator: "And so the Courier's road came to an end... for now. In the new world of the Trope Pantheons, fighting continued, blood was spilled, and many lived and died - just as they had in the Old World. Because war... war never changes."

All my fault, you say...? What fault? I daresay it's all thanks to me.

  • Symbol: Her sword, the "Giant Killer"

  • Domains: Family, Swords
  • Herald: Rana (her son)
  • Followers: Emerald
  • Allies: Leina Vance, Sona Buvelle, Litchi Faye-Ling, Seras Victoria, Mami Tomoe, Tsunade, Aphrodite, Yomi, Sophitia Alexandra, Terra Branford, Wander, Eren Yeager, Dovahkiin, Conan the Barbarian, Diane, Dyntos, Rodin, Vulcan, Ethan and Mia Winters, James Sunderland, Guts, Cloud Strife, Jack Rakan
  • Enemies: The Colossi, Bertolt Hoover, Annie Leonhart, The Child Abuse Supporters
  • Opposed by: The League of Flat Chests (particularly Etna)
  • Complicated Relationship with: Santa Claus
  • Cattleya was a famous and resourceful adventurer whose skills as a swordswoman resulted in her killing many giants with her massive sword. This earned her the nickname "Giant Killer", a name she shared with her sword. She eventually married fellow adventurer Owen, the "Dragon Slayer", and settled down to manage the "Cattleya Weapons Shop". However, one day, Owen disappeared, leaving Cattleya alone to raise their son, Rana. Later on, Cattleya participated in the Queen's Blade tournament believing she would find clues to her missing husband's whereabouts.
  • After ascending into the pantheon, Cattleya requested that her son Rana join her, as she didn't want to leave him all alone. Her request was granted and Rana was allowed to enter the pantheon as her herald, to the joy of both of them. Cattleya was also pleasantly surprised to run into Leina Vance in the pantheon and the two spent the day catching up.
  • Cattleya quickly gained the reputation of possessing the largest breasts in the Pantheon, surpassing even Power Girl. As a result, she was invited to join the Poly Racks by Sona Buvelle. Although interested, Cattleya decided to withhold from formally joining the group for the time being. Nonetheless, she is on good terms with all of the group's members.
  • Whenever Hattori Hanzo and the other blacksmiths of the Pantheon are busy or when Edward Elric is unavailable or when Archer is not busy replicating weapons for their team, most of the gods visit Cattleya in order to get repairs for their weapons. Her most frequent customers are those who wield giant blades, such as Cloud, Guts and Jack Rakan.
  • She is regarding as one of the few female expies of Guts, though she is generally more cheerful than most of them. She quickly ended up befriending Yomi, who is similarly often compared to Guts, when the latter visited Cattleya's shop (located within Cattleya's temple) in order have her sword looked at. Cattleya was amazed at how Yomi's giant blade had an in-built chainsaw inside it, which resulted in the two striking up a conversation about it and becoming friends.
  • She is on good terms with fellow Action Moms Sophitia Alexandra and Terra Branford, who approve of her strong commitment towards raising her son. However, they're not quite comfortable with how she used him as a human shield during the Queen's Blade tournament in order to allow him to stay by her side. She also quickly became enemies with the Child Abuse Supporters, as she's appalled by what they each did to their family members and what they endorse.
  • Her reputation as the Giant Killer resulted in her getting along with Wander and Eren Yaeger, both of whom were amazed by her immense strength. However, she disapproves of Eren's willingless to commit evil deeds to accomplish his goals, and the two have occasionally argued with each other on the matter. When she heard that there was a God of Dragonslaying, she sought him out hoping that he was her husband. However, it turned out to be the Dovahkiin instead. Although disappointed, she ended up befriending him regardless, and the two have since occasionally teamed up. Unsurprisingly, she has often been called upon to help fight against the Colossi.
  • Due to the fact that Conan the Barbarian shares many similarities to her mortal husband, things tend to become awkward between the two whenever they meet. Some gods even speculate that her husband is an alternate version of Conan. This theory makes her rather uncomfortable since Conan looks like what her husband would have been if he took a trip in Warhammer-land.
  • Despite her history, Cattleya doesn't have any ill will towards friendly giants. She quickly became friends with Diane and was especially enthusiastic about being able to examine Diane's War Hammer Gideon.
  • Being a blacksmith, she visited the House of Workmanship and was amazed by the weapons forged by Dyntos, Rodin and Vulcan. To their delight, rather than becoming jealous, she instead complimented each of them and asked for advice on how to improve her own craft, which they gave due to appreciating her politeness.
  • Having gone on a quest to find her missing husband, she managed to become friends with Ethan Winters and James Sunderland, both of whom went on similar quests to find their missing wives. However, while Cattleya is happy that Ethan and Mia gained the happy ending they deserved, she also sympathises with James, whose quest was unsuccessful because his situation is much more complicated.
  • When Cattleya learned that Bertolt Hoover and Annie Leonhart are Titans who hate humans, she quickly came to oppose them, although she admitted that she does at least somewhat sympathise with them due to their situation.
  • She once had a rather nasty encounter with Etna due to their... differences in chest size. It started when Cattleya kindly offered to repair the Demon Lord's spear after witnessing that it was worn down, thus making herself known as a fellow goddess. Long story short, it ended with Cattleya's forge burning down to the ground and Cattleya ending up on Etna's death list for reasons she still have no idea about. It took a wile before it was up and running again.
  • Her interactions with Santa Claus tend to be a little awkward due to an incident in which she mistook him for a burglar and beat him up. Santa was quick to forgive her, remarking that she was simply looking out for the safety of her son. Although he still brings them presents on Christmas, he has since developed a preference for knocking on their door instead of entering through the chimney in order to avoid a repeat of the incident.

Guys, should I split The Pantheonic Police Force into different pages? And if that consitutes a GUA, I am not renaming it the Grand United Alliance Of Police. No police department has ever been called that and as you can see by me bothering to implement a detailed ranking system, realism is my thing.
