The Advena Legion with President Luthor Names

In March of 2017, President Luthor announced his 'Earth Hospitality Act' which popularized the term 'Xenohuman' and created the 'Advena Legion'. Though the measure has yet to be officially approved, it's actually being well received and is expected to be made into law soon.

The Advena Act creates the possibility for alien refugees and travelers to become official citizens of the United States (and thereby Earth) through a process of enlisting in a public service, like fighting crime as a member of the 'Advena Legion' (or more colloquially known as the 'Legion of Superheroes' or 'Legion of Alien Heroes') or working at NASA or for the NSA, DEO, or even just building infrastructure or whatever.

Applicants for the program are monitored by the DEO and are assigned a handler. Their handler determines where their skills, talents, powers, etc. would be best utilized and then monitors their progress after placement. If they fulfill the terms of their placement for a specific period of time, they are given official citizenship and even have the option of assuming a normal human identity if they so choose (and are so able to disguise themselves as such). Once placed, aliens in good standing are given 'Xenohuman' status under the law and are afforded all the rights and privileges of a normal human.

The Advena Legion is the big flagship of the program and while the rest of the program has yet to really be implemented and enacted, awaiting legislation and funding, the Advena Legion is already being formed under the Executive Branch of the US government.

    In General
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: They are a group of aliens that, by becoming heroes, are granted an Earth's citizenship by Lex Luthor instead of being a group of heroes from the 30th Century.
  • Adaptation Name Change:
    • Rather than being called the 'Legion of Superheroes', they're given the name of Advena Legion.
    • While Saturn Girl, Timber Wolf, Sensor, Andromeda and Dream Girl go by their original codenames, the rest goes by original or alternate names.
  • Adaptation Species Change: The members who originate on Earth in the comics are now aliens, although they remain Human Aliens.
  • Brought to You by the Letter "S": Rather than using the "L" symbol used in the comics and other adaptations in media, the Legion has the "A" symbol with the star on it instead.
  • Corporate-Sponsored Superhero: In a sense they're sponsored by President Lex Luthor and part of his "Earth Hospitality Act" which popularized the term 'Xenohuman' and created the 'Advena Legion'.
  • Human Aliens: Some of them aren't that different from humans.
  • Meaningful Name: The Advena Legion's name came from the latin word foreigner, immigrant, visitor from abroad, migrant (bird), newcomer, interloper as they're aliens given amnesty on Earth.
  • Non-Uniform Uniform: While most members of the Legion wear jackets, a utility belt and a sidearm, they can all personalize their uniform based on their preferences for color.
  • Superhero Packing Heat: Each Legionnaire wield a handgun so they can defend themselves in case their powers go haywire.
  • Utility Belt: Unlike the other versions who wield Flight rings instead they wield The Gravity Dampening Belt aka "Ring", which also serve as communicators and provide the force-fields necessary for Legionnaires to function in space.

The Founders

    Polestar (Rokk Krinn)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/polestar_earth_27_enhanced.jpg

Rokk Krinn is a native of Braal with the ability to control electromagnetic fields.

  • Accidental Murder: While attempting to stop his treasonous younger brother Pol Krinn, he accidentally killed him when he tried to incapacitate him using his powers, something that Rokk regrets to this day.
  • Action Dad: He and Lydda have a son named Pol Krinn II.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: In the comics all Braalians had magnetic powers and Rokk was seen as the best, but here he obtained his natural powers were enhanced due to Brainiac's experiments.
  • Barrier Warrior: He can protect himself from physical harm, can stretch his fields to protect a large group, and can suspend persons or objects in the air.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Rokk has received extensive combat training within the Legion, constantly refining his skills to ensure he can defend himself and others without relying solely on his magnetic powers.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He has a rough past growing up as a slave sold by his family and being purchased to work in an asteroid mining colony ran by Kathoonian pirates. The pirates who ran the place were a bit paranoid and this paranoia led the the colony open fire on what they believed to be Kryptonians not aware that Krypton is destroyed. He and Lydda were captured, tortured and experimented on by Brainiac afterwards.
  • Dead Guy Junior: In Braalian tradition, he named his son Pol after his late brother.
  • Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette: This version of Rokk has a ashen gray and black skin as unique trait in Earth 27.
  • EMP: He can focus his magnetic energy into powerful concussive blasts. He can also overload or short-circuit electrical systems.
  • Energy Absorption: He has been shown absorbing some forms of energy through his magnetic force fields to temporarily boost his own strengths.
  • Extra-ore-dinary: Polestar is a Braalian who has been given the ability to lift and manipulate metal with a number of effects. This comes with a variety of abilities such as barriers, powerful concussive blasts, magnetism manipulation, electromagnetic sight, and an elemental Psychic Link with Earth itself.
  • Freudian Trio: As the ego, with Spark (id) and Saturn Girl (superego).
  • Innate Night Vision: Rokk's senses are finely tuned for low-light environments, giving him superior night vision which allows him to see clearly in near-total darkness. This adaptation is complemented by an enhanced auditory sense, making him highly perceptive to sounds, which provides a tactical advantage during night operations or in dark spaces.
  • The Leader: As a seasoned leader of the Advena Legion, Rokk demonstrates strategic acumen and a robust command presence, guiding his team through myriad galactic challenges with a focus on protective strategies and justice.
  • Logical Weakness:
    • Distance affects the limit his magnetic control has over an object, as does the amount of metal in or on that object. For example, he once caught a falling worker who was only a couple of dozen feet away.
    • He also cannot affect non-magnetic metals, such as aluminum and gold, or organic substances like wood.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: He can manipulate, repel or attract metal objects of varying sizes. Naturally, the more metal there is in an object, the easier it is for him to affect it magnetically. His super-magnetism has only a slight effect on the metallic particles of smog. He is able to juggle smaller metal objects.
  • Not Quite Flight: Polestar can suspend himself in flight by riding the Earth's magnetic field.
  • Official Couple: With Lyda Jath his "Sworn To Mate".
  • Parental Abandonment: His parents sold him to slavery when he was nine years old.
  • Perpetual Frowner: The guy doesn't smile much.
  • Psychic Link: He is tied very closely to Earth's or what ever planet he is on EM Field. As is it effected, so is he. He knows instinctively all that happens to it.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His Legion uniform and when his Telekinetic powers glows purple.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue to Spark's Red.
  • The Stoic: Downplayed. He's a serious guy but also slightly aggressive.
  • Super-Senses: He posseses electromagnetic sight. By concentrating, he can perceive the world around himself solely as patterns of magnetic and electrical energy. He can perceive the natural magnetic auras surrounding living beings, as well.
  • Technicolor Eyes: His eyes glows violet.

    Saturn Girl (Imra Ardeen)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saturn_girl_enhanced_earth_27.jpg

A native of Titan, one of Saturn's moon, she is an extremely powerful telepath and founding member of the Legion.

  • Ace Pilot: As a skilled shuttle pilot, Imra handles various spacecraft and aircraft with expertise.
  • Action Mom: She and Garth have twin daughters, Dacey and Doritt Ranzz.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: Imra has connections with Amazonians, Martians and by extent to Red Saturnians, the race of Jemm, The Son Of Saturn. As her race on Titan were a colony created of Martians and Amazonian prisoners after the Amazons who discovered a Martian spy and Hippolyta chose to spare the outsider from punishment and later both prisoners were exiled to Saturn due to an agreement on both sides and later got infected by a plague that caused their green skin to turn red and usually caused the loss of their psionic abilities. As Imra is such an example as a human looking alien with Martian psionic ability due to both races's breeding process.
  • Barrier Warrior: She is able to create energy force-fields.
  • Battle Couple: With her husband Garth Ranzz.
  • Chest Insignia: Imra's Saturn Girl costume has the Saturn symbol on her chest representing her homeworld of Titan, one of Saturn's moons.
  • Freudian Trio: As the superego, with Polestar (ego) and Spark (id).
  • Genius Bruiser: People from Saturn have high intellects to match their Psychic Powers. And as a longstanding member of the Legion, Imra has received advanced combat training. This training is regularly developed and honed through further training with Legionnaire Val Ar'Mar.
  • Hates Being Alone: Inverted. To maintain her mental health and effectiveness, Imra occasionally requires isolation to recuperate from the constant barrage of mental stimuli, which can conflict with ongoing missions or team dynamics.
  • The Heart: She's quite good at handling people.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: She can erase any awareness of particular memories or cause total amnesia.
  • Living Lie Detector: Well, she's a telepath, so...
  • Logical Weakness: The extensive use of her psychic powers can lead to mental fatigue, causing debilitating migraines or a temporary loss of her telepathic abilities, necessitating periods of rest.
  • Master of Illusion: She can create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring.
  • Mind Manipulation: Saturn Girl can manipulate other people's minds easily, achieving a variety of effects.
  • Mind over Matter: She's able to telekinetically move heavy metallic objects with her mind.
  • Mind Probe: She can telepathically "sedate" her victims so that, if already rendered unconscious, they remain so for as long as she continues to "sedate" them.
  • Official Couple: She's married to Garth Ranzz/Spark.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: The pink girl to Spark's blue boy.
  • Psi Blast: Imra can emit powerful bursts of psychic energy that can incapacitate or disrupt the mental functions of others.
  • Psychic Block Defense: She has the ability to erect a psychic shield for protection of herself and of others' minds.
  • Psychic Powers: Like her people, she possesses mental abilities, but is labeled a "tenth-level" psychic - making her one of the most powerful psychics on Titan, if not the entire DC Universe. She has a large variety of abilities such as Telepathy, psychic telekinesis, barriers, and extrasensory perception.
  • Psychic Radar: She can sense the presence of another superhuman within a small but as yet undefined radius of himself by perceiving the distinctive mental radiations emitted by such a being.
  • Telepathic Spacemen: Space Girl in her case. Much like her canon counterpart, she is an alien from Titan, one of Saturn's Moons, and she has mental powers.
  • Telepathy: She is one of the most powerful telepaths in the DC Universe. Her telepathy is considered tenth level by her people, the highest ranking. With her telepathic powers, she can read, receive, and broadcast thoughts at will.

    Spark (Garth Ranzz)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/spark_enhanced_earth_27.jpg

Garth Ranzz is a native born on the planet Winath, he gained electric powers during an encounter with Lightning Beasts on Korbal. He is known for being fun-loving but hot-headed and aggressive. Garth is the twin brother of fellow Legionnaire Ayla Ranzz a.k.a Pulse.

  • Action Dad: He and Imra have twin daughters, Dacey and Doritt Ranzz.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Spark has golden skin with Alien patterns and markings.
  • Artificial Limbs: He lost his left forearm after being bitten by Korvalian Toads and is replaced by a robotic arm. Unique to Garth's powers, the arm is not only immune to his electric discharges but is also capable of channeling and augmenting his electrokinetic abilities. This integration allows for precise control and release of electrical energy, including the ability to amplify his lightning strikes or to absorb and redistribute electrical power from external sources.
  • Battle Couple: With his wife Imra.
  • Blue Is Heroic: The twins have matching blue outfits.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With his twin sister Ayla.
  • Energy Absorption: He can absorb electrical energy into his body and re-channel it for offensive purposes. His body functions as a natural insulator, and he cannot be harmed from the effects of his own powers.
  • Farm Boy: His homeworld Winath is an agrarian colony.
  • Human Popsicle: He and his sister's new powers were too risky for Brainiac to keep them awake and so they spent most of their time in cryo-sleep. Garth did have the good fortune of being out of stasis when Brainiac's ship broke apart, allowing him to escape and ultimately join the Legion.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He's arrogant and raucous, but he still fights for what is right.
  • In-Series Nickname: Lightning Lad and Starfinger.
  • The Lancer: To Polestar.
  • Logical Weakness: Despite Garth's ability to generate and manipulate electricity, there is a limit to how much charge his body can safely handle. Overuse of his powers, or using his powers while doused in water, can lead to a dangerous overload. This could not only cause his powers to become temporarily erratic or shut down but also result in severe physical harm or unconsciousness.
  • Magnetism Manipulation: Spark can send his electricity through conductive metals.
  • Mythology Gag: His alias as Starfinger is a nod Garth's brief stint as the a super villain in the comics, although he was brainwashed at the time by the real Starfinger.
  • Official Couple: He's married to Imra Ardeen/Saturn Girl.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: The blue boy to Saturn Girl's pink girl.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red to Polestar's Blue.
  • Shock and Awe: Spark has the ability to generate electricity within his own body without harming himself. This electricity he is able to discharge in the form of potent "lightning bolts" (in some undisclosed way his power prevents these bolts from taking the path of least resistance to Earth, such that he is able to target objects with great accuracy). He can also create flashing lettering which can be seen from great distances.
  • Super-Speed: Garth is also able to direct his electric powers internally so as to move at superhuman speed, with his top speed being approximately one-third the speed of light.
  • Twin Telepathy: He and Ayla has a twin telepathic bond with each other.
  • The Unpronounceable: He took the human name of Garth, because his real name is too difficult to pronounce or even write in human linguistics.

    Pulse (Ayla Ranzz)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pulse_enhanced_earth_27.jpg

Twin sister of Garth Ranzz also born on planet Winath, she gained electric powers through exposure to a Lightning Beast on Korbal.

  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: Goes for a half shaved hairstyle instead of any of her previous hairstyles.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Unlike her canon counterpart who swings both ways, she's only interested in females here.
  • The Alcoholic: Ayla has a drinking problem. Though this can be managed by Salu Digby or her brother Garth, if others try to tell her she has a problem or intervene, Ayla can become violent - particularly if she is on a period of binge-drinking.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Pulse has golden skin with Alien patterns and markings.
  • Blue Is Heroic: The twins have matching blue outfits.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With her twin brother Garth.
  • Coming-Out Story: She had been struggling with coming to terms with the realization she was a lesbian for sometime, but after Yera confirmed she knew and with Salu's help, she came out to the rest of her team. While her relationship with her brother and Imra improved after coming out, many of her teammates felt used.
  • The Creon: Much like her brother, Garth, Ayla's experience, first among the Lantern Rangers and now with the Advena Legion, has honed her leadership abilities. She adeptly strategizes, inspiring confidence and encouraging cooperation amongst his diverse teammates within the Advena Legion. However, unlike her brother, Ayla had no interest in promotion. Still, she was given the rank of Legion Captain, more or less against her will.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To her brother Garth.
  • Energy Absorption: Ayla could also absorb electrical current, process it, and it use it to amplify her powers.
  • Farm Girl: Her homeworld Winath is an agrarian colony.
  • Gayngst: She struggled with her feelings for a long time while realizing she was only attracted to women. While coming out thanks to Yera and Salu, her relationships with her teammates Brin Londo, Ryand'r and Dirk Morgna, with whom she previously had casual relationships with.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Which is considered unusual even for their kind, who almost always gives birth to twins of the same sex. Ayla was conceived as male but had a rare mutation that had altered her gender shortly after they split - changing her from Garth's identical twin brother to a near-identical twin sister.
  • Human Popsicle: Like her twin brother Garth, her new powers were too risky for Brainiac to keep them awake and so they spent most of their time in cryo-sleep. That was the last thing Ayla remembered, until she woke up from cryo-sleep years later on Earth. Ayla slung lightning at DEO agents before Lucy Lane arrived with Garth. Garth calmed her down, caught her up, and convinced her to sign up to the Advena Legion.
  • In-Series Nickname: Lightning Lass, which was her codename in the comics.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: Like give you electrical powers, for example.
  • Mood-Swinger: Though much more in control of her emotions than her brother, Ayla can suffer from severe mood swings when stressed - particularly when deprived of time from her brother or her girlfriend Salu Digby.
  • Official Couple: She's dating Salu Digby.
  • Plucky Girl: "What grows in sunshine wilts in worry", as Winathians say.
  • Shock and Awe: Ayla has the power to generate intense electrical energy, which she can harness to project lightning bolts, create electrical shields, and power up devices. Her control over electricity allows her to stun or incapacitate foes, as well as to charge or short-circuit machinery. Due to having two functional organic arms, Ayla's mastery of electrokinesis seems to exceed her brother's own.
  • Twin Telepathy: She and Garth has a twin telepathic bond with each other.

    Phase (Tinya Wazzo)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/phase_enhanced_earth_27.jpg

Tinya Wazzo is a native of the extra-dimensional planet Bgztl, giving her the power to phase through solid objects. She is the only member of her race with the ability to pass through the Phantom Zone and onto Earth.

  • Action Mom: She and Jo Nah have a son named Cub.
  • Ambiguous Situation: The status of her family ever since they were trapped in the Phantom Zone is unknown.
  • Brutal Honesty: Always very frank and straightforward with her opinions.
  • Cleavage Window: And it's divided in four parts.
  • Composite Character: She's most likely combined with the other two Phantom Girls, Enya Wazzo the 20th Century heroine featured in the comic L.E.G.I.O.N. and her ancestor Linnya Wazzo from The Terrifics.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: Wears white gloves as part of her outfit.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Tinya along with her mother and sisters were spacefaring merchants of Bgztl. When Tinya was a teenager, her mother bought her to Krypton. Where mother and daughters were selling spaceports, a bombing nearly claimed the Kryptonian lives, Kryptonian commoners were such xenophobic zealots that they were quick the blame on Tinya and her family in which a mob loyal to Dru-Zod who defied the Kryptonian Council's orders got both family wrongly imprisoned to the Phantom Zone.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Tinya can alter her dimensional frequency, allowing her to shift from the corporeal reality to the astral plane. If she is familiar with other adjacent dimensional and sub-dimensional frequencies, Tinya could slip into those as well. An example of this is when she followed Nura Nal into the Dreaming to gain an audience with Dream of the Endless.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Bzgtlians possess multiple redundant digestive organs, including kidneys, stomachs, and livers. These provide Bzgtlians with enhanced filtering capabilities, allowing them to safely ingest things that other species might find toxic.
  • Genki Girl: She's quite energetic.
  • In-Series Nickname: Apparition and Phantom Girl, both of which were her code names in the comics.
  • Intangibility: Like all natives of the planet Bgztl, she possesses the ability to shift to another dimension, allowing her to phase through solid matter. As a veritable phantom, she cannot be harmed by conventional means of attack. It also enables her to access the Phantom Zone.
  • Manchild: The residual effects of the Phantom Zone have imbued Tinya with a certain level of impulsiveness and a predilection for frivolous behavior. While physically mature, her emotional and cognitive responses often align with behavior not reflected by her apparent (let alone her actual age), manifesting as whimsical fixations on trends, people, and concepts. This can lead to distractibility and an inconsistent focus on tasks at hand. Tinya's reactions to stress, rejection, or failure may be exaggerated or inappropriate for her physical age. She also has a vulnerability towards obsessive behaviors. She may latch onto ideas or individuals with an intensity that skews her judgment and can disrupt mission objectives or personal relationships.
  • Meaningful Appearance: Her clothes and gloves are all white, while her eyes are very pale, fitting for someone associated with intangibility and ghosts.
  • My Biological Clock Is Ticking: Upon reaching sexual maturity, Bzgtlian females appear to suffer from intense hormonal impulses to mate every three to five years, when their bodies begin developing an egg. The impulses (which can further develop into acute abdominal pain if ignored) are only relieved when the developing egg is fertilized. Querl Dox believes he can create a pharmaceutical treatment to delay this hormonal cycle, but to date, Tinya has not allowed him the chance to examine her to the degree he would need to further explore this theory.
  • The Needless: When phased, Tinya exists in a state similar to when she lived in the Phantom Zone. She has no need to eat, drink, or breathe. Likewise, if she should somehow be harmed while phased, she will quickly heal back to the state she was when she entered her phased state.
  • Not Quite Flight: When fully intangible, Tinya is not subject to gravity's constraints, granting her the capacity to levitate and float through the air. Her movement in this state is silent and eerily smooth, enhancing her ability to traverse spaces undetected.
  • Pheromones: Bzgtlian tongues secrete pheromones that, when ingested, trigger intense hormonal reactions in most sapient species. This chemical reaction does not seem to affect females, so it is possible that this evolutionary development is only found in Bzgtlian females.
  • Shipper on Deck: It was her idea to get Imra and Garth to date each other.
  • Weak to Magic: Tinya is unable to phase through magical barriers or objects. She can pass through purely magical beings, however the result often leaves her lightheaded and repeating such maneuvers might cause Tinya to lose consciousness.
  • Whale Egg: Despite looking human, Tinya gave birth to her son Cub by laying an egg that later hatched as a grown toddler.

Recruited Members

    Codex (Querl Drox)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/codex_earth_27.jpg
Originally a body backup of Brainiac called "Brainiac 5" was a Coluan body outfitted with cybernetics, but shelved and never activated due to having a difficulty to suppress identity... until 2017 when the US Government revealed they had obtained him and renamed him 'Codex' and fitted him into the roster of the Advena Legion.
  • Adaptation Name Change: He's not called Brainiac 5. He instead takes the name of Codex.
  • Badass Bookworm: He's the Legion's brains, but he can also throw down when he has to, and is rarely a hindrance when things get physical. Given who some of his teammates and enemies are, this makes him a certified badass.
  • Barrier Warrior: Codex's primary invention is his personal force-shield generator. He wears a belt that projects an impenetrable forcefield around himself; can sometimes extend the field to do more creative things with it.
  • The Chess Master: His super-intelligence is sometimes played this way.
  • Insufferable Genius: He comes off as this to the rest of the Legion at times when his Techno Babble becomes tiresome
  • Mechanical Lifeform: He's a Coluan cyborg, but also acts as a human.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His Legion jacket is purple, and like his progenitor, quite powerful.
  • Science Hero: He is primarily this for the others in the Legion, providing the strategy and tech support for them in battle.
  • The Smart Guy: Fits the role to the Legion.
  • Super-Intelligence: Querl has a "12th-level intellect" (each level of intelligence represents a separate thought track, allowing him to think about or solve twelve equations simultaneously), which grants him superhuman calculation skills, amazing memory and exceptional technical know-how.
  • Technopath: His systems are capable of interfacing with technology.

    Valor (Lar Gand)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/valor_earth_27.jpg
  • Brother–Sister Team: With his older half-sister Loryl.
  • Chest Insignia: He has one shaped like the shield of the House of El, but without a letter or symbol.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He was born on a refugee fleet of Daxamites who had fled the planet after it was devastated by Doomsday, his mother went missing when Brainiac attacked the fleet, capturing him and his sister and used them in his experiments.
  • Flying Brick: Like any Daxamite or Kryptonian who spends much time under a yellow sun.
  • Hunk: He's a pretty gook-looking and manly guy, which is why he and Ryand'r were chosen as the Mr. Fanservice models for the Legion.
  • Kryptonite Factor: Just like Kryptonians, Daxamites like him are vulnerable to kryptonite, and he suffers from a severe allergy to lead.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Daxamites tend to be xenophobic jerks, even if Lar and his sister Loryl grew up in a fleet that was more open to interacting with other species.
  • The Power of the Sun: As a Daxamite, his cells function like a super battery, hyper metabolizing specific wavelengths of radiation as fuel to enable living functions and/or superhuman abilities. Different wavelengths of radiation have different effects on Lar Gand's physiology and well being, but his cells cannot absorb or utilize all types of radiation.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Just like Clark, Lar's costume is blue, red and his Chest Insignia is golden.
  • Superpower Lottery: Lar has got powers that are native to all Daxamites if they where in a solar system with a yellow sun, similar to Kryptonians complete of Eye Beams, Flying Brick, Super-Breath, Super-Speed and Super-Strength.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Lead. Unlike Kryptonians who can eventually recover from exposure to Kryptonite, minimal exposure to lead can be fatal to a Daxamite.

    Timber Wolf (Brin Londo)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/timber_wolf__earth_27.jpg
Born on the wild and dangerous world of Zuun, Brin of the Londo pack would lose his mother and his pack to the predations of Brainiac. Looking for the Collector all the way to Earth, Brin ended up recruited by Director Bones to join the Advena Legion.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Not himself but his father Mar Londo, who in the comics experimented on and turned Brin into a wolf man against his will. Here Mar did no such thing and simply allowed his son to look for revenge for the death of his mother and pack.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Brin often relies on his physical strength and combat skills to solve problems, which might not always be the best approach, especially in situations that require subtlety or strategic planning.
  • Carpet of Virility: His costume shows his hairy arms and chest.
  • Crazy Survivalist: Brin is adept in surviving in harsh environments, knowledgeable in finding food and water sources, making shelters, and using the flora and fauna of Zuun for medicinal purposes.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Taught by various members of his pack, Brin is skilled in hand-to-hand combat and the use of traditional Zuuvani weapons. His physical prowess is enhanced by his species' natural abilities, making him a formidable opponent.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Brin's background as a hunter and survivor sometimes drives him to act impulsively, relying on instinct rather than strategic thinking, which is not always suitable, especially in complex scenarios involving multiple factions or long-term consequences.
  • Locked into Strangeness: Like his Reboot and cartoon counterpart, Brin has a strand of white on his otherwise dark brown hair.
  • No Social Skills: Having spent much of his life in the wild, Brin struggles with adapting to more civilized settings. His mannerisms and methods can sometimes be too direct or aggressive for delicate situations or diplomatic encounters.
  • Revenge Before Reason: After the annihilation of his pack, Brin's focus on seeking revenge against Brainiac can detract from other objectives and lead him into dangerous situations without sufficient planning.
  • Scarily Competent Tracker: Growing up with the Et' pack, Brin became an expert hunter and tracker, using his natural instincts and the skills passed down from his pack. He can read natural signs and tracks, making him an exceptional wilderness scout.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Just like Garth and Ayla, Brin's costume doesn't have sleeves, and he's easily the most physical fighter on the Legion.
  • Super-Reflexes: Brin has enhanced reflexes making him a fearsome physical opponent in battle.
  • Super-Senses: Zuuvani olfactory abilities are highly developed, allowing them to detect prey, predators, or mates from great distances and even distinguish subtle changes in the environment. Their night vision allows them to see clearly in low light conditions. Their auditory senses are sharp, enabling them to pick up sounds that would be imperceptible to humans, providing advanced warning of approaching threats or calls from pack members.
  • Super-Strength: Timber Wolf's strength level is several times that of a normal human.
  • Wolf Man: He's a humanoid wolf.
  • Wolverine Claws: Timber Wolf has sharpened claws on each hand.

    Trinity (Luornu Durgo)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trinity_una_earth_27.jpg
Una
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trinity__dua___earth_27___corrected_eyes__by_roysovitch_dh7zt1f_fullview.jpg
Dua
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/trinity_treia_earth_27.jpg
Treia
Luornu Durgo is a native of Cargg, a planet with three suns, which gives her the ability to control three identical bodies at the same time. As Trinity, she became one of the first members recruited for the Advena Legion.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: In the comics her ability was to divide herself into three separate bodies, but here she's always three people who are always connected to each other.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: In the comics Cargg was unrelated to the New Gods, but here they descend from Genesisian colonists who settled on the planet with three suns.
  • Ambadassador: Raised by a diplomat mother, Luornu has inherited a knack for diplomacy. This talent was honed further by her years studying conflict resolution with the clerical academy of Cargg. She effectively uses her skills in negotiation and conflict resolution to mediate disputes, often preventing violent outcomes.
  • Cleavage Window: She has a small triangle-shaped window in the middle of her Chest Insignia.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Which body is which is easy to identify due to their respective colors; Una is white, Dua is orange and Treia is purple.
  • Composite Character: Instead of Triad or Triplicate Girl, she takes the codename of lesser known Titans and Wonder Woman villain Trinity.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her sclerae is black and her irises are shaped like triangles.
  • Fantastic Fighting Style: Luornu is a master of Trijitsu, a martial art that leverages her unique tripartite form. Each body is trained to defend, attack, and maneuver independently yet harmoniously, making her an extraordinarily formidable opponent in combat.
  • Fights Like a Normal: She doesn't have any other powers besides her mental connection between herself, but her coordination and training makes her very efficient at fighting as a one person unit.
  • Hive Mind: Luornu is unique even among Carggites for her ability to exist simultaneously in three bodies, each sharing a part in a collective consciousness. This allows her to perform multiple tasks at once, be in different places at the same time, and gather a wealth of experiences and information rapidly.
  • Literal Split Personality: Each of the three duplicates she controls are semi-individuals with slight differences in personality to the point that they're both one person and yet also like very close sisters.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: All three of them have a strand of hair of the same color corresponding to that duplicate.
  • Meaningful Appearance: Not only her mind is divided into three people, her pupils and irises are triangle-shaped, has three ridges on the bridge of her nose and has exactly three pairs of freckles on her faces.
  • Official Couple: She's dating Chock Tayn.
  • Smash Sisters: Unsurprisingly, she makes a really great team.
  • Stronger Than They Look: The harsh conditions of their home world have made Carggites notably resilient. They exhibit high endurance and a robust constitution, capable of performing strenuous physical activities for extended periods without succumbing to fatigue. This resilience is crucial for survival on a planet where environmental conditions can change drastically and suddenly.
  • Super-Senses: Adapted to their vibrant but hazardous environment, Carggites possess enhanced sensory capabilities. Their vision is particularly acute, tailored to manage the brilliant light of their world while detecting subtle shifts in their surroundings. This makes them excellent navigators and hunters in both brightly lit and dim conditions.
  • Twins Are Special: In Cargg, twins are considered a sign of good omen, triplets even more so. That she was born as triplets with a meta-gene makes her outstanding in her entire planet.
  • Twin Telepathy: Luornu's three bodies are linked by a powerful telepathic connection, enabling seamless communication and coordination between them. This telepathy enhances her cognitive processing speed and decision-making abilities, allowing her to operate as a highly integrated unit.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Despite her evolutionary adaptations that distinguish Carggites from Genesisians and Apokalyptans, Carggites with a meta-gene remain more susceptible to radion poisoning than typical Carggites.

    Ricochet (Chock Tayn)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ricochet_earth_27.jpg
Born on the harsh planet of Thronn, Ulchokkir faschtur'Tayn, or simply Chock Tayn, was born with great expectations from his people, only to end up captured by Brainiac instead. Free from imprisonment, he joined the Legion to be close to Luornu Durgo as its mechanic and engineer.
  • Acrofatic: It helps that he can bounce.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Instead of a human, he comes from the planet Thronn.
  • Belly Flop Crushing: Chock's abdomen is coated in a thick excess of heavy, durable skin. Though Thronnian physiology is sufficient enough to deflect most forces acted upon it, the strength of the deflection when forces are delivered upon his midsection are greatly increased. Chock can actually use his belly to belly-flop when falling from a height to then bounce to nearly the same height he fell - without fear of injuring himself.
  • Be the Ball: His main power is turning into a ball that can crush enemies.
  • Big Fun: He's a heavyset guy who's also really nice and jolly.
  • Bouncing Battler: He combines this with Be the Ball.
  • The Engineer: Chock has a natural talent for mechanics and construction. This skill is invaluable in maintaining machinery and structures.
  • Heavy Worlder: Due to Thronn's exceptionally strong gravity, Thronnians have developed a dense musculoskeletal system. Their bones are markedly more robust and dense, providing the necessary support to withstand the intense gravitational pull. Muscles are hyper-developed, giving Thronnians extraordinary strength and resilience, allowing them to perform physically demanding tasks with ease compared to other species.
  • Improvisational Ingenuity: Growing up in a world where every day is a struggle to survive has honed his ability to think outside the box, Chock is adept at improvising solutions with limited resources. He is also fond of many forms of creative expression, becoming an avid consumer of Earth's movies and music.
  • Lethal Joke Character: Even the Advena Legion can underestimate him sometimes. But more importantly, so do supervillains.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Rarely ever without Luornu at his side, Chock has become reliant on her presence. When she is entirely absent from him, Chock tends to sink into a lonely depression state where he is prone to overanalysis and anxiety.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Thronnians typically have a rugged, durable skin that is thickened to resist their planet’s scorching temperatures and toxic atmosphere. Thronnian skin have a thick, rubbery texture that deflects nearly all mundane kinetic forces that make contact with it, including knives and bullets.
  • Official Couple: Dating Luornu Durgo/Trinity, despite the difficulty of dating her as three people at the same time.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: His full name is Ulchokkir faschtur'Tayn, which roughly translates as "The Chosen One Born of Tayn", so he simply goes by Chock.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: He has a heart tattoo with 'i+3' to show his love for Luornu.

    Umbra (Tasmia Mallor)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/umbra_earth_27.jpg
Tasmia Mallor, alias Umbra was a leading member of the Advena Legion. She hails from the planet Talok VIII and has the power to project and control shadow and darkness.
  • Adaptational Modesty: She wears a jacket and mini-shorts in contrast to her comic book counterpart who only wears a cape over a black bikini.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: She has dark blue skin.
  • Badass Bookworm: Tasmia is an accomplished scholar of umbramancy, possessing a deep understanding of not only shadow magic and its applications, but a fundamental understanding of magic as a whole. Her education at the prestigious Shadowspire Academy has equipped her with knowledge of ancient lore, magical artifacts, and the dark arts, which she adeptly uses.
  • Casting a Shadow: Tasmia can cast dark-fields preventing all light from reaching an area from outside. These can either be complete, effectively rendering useless all light sources within the area, or hollow to allow the interior to be lit. She can also solidify these fields, to use as a more direct weapon. She has the power to create darkness 100 times darker than a moonless night. Her black shadows are impenetrable by light.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Her reliance on the dark essence for her powers means that in environments devoid of such energies, her abilities can be significantly weakened.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: A superheroine with shadow powers. Definitely a good girl.
  • Green-Skinned Space Babe: She has dark blue skin, black dots and pointy ears and she's very attractive.
  • Kill the Lights: Umbra can manipulate darkness and see in the dark, and so often blinds enemies with darkness.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: Tasmia is a highly skilled combatant, trained in the martial traditions of Talok VIII. Her physical prowess is complemented by her strategic thinking and quick reflexes, making her formidable in both armed and unarmed combat.
  • Pointy Ears: She has pointy ears to show she's not human. Her pointed ears are extremely sensitive and an essential part of her sensory perception, but are also an erogenous and delicate area. A hit to her ears can cause intense pain and disorientation, momentarily crippling her and disrupting her ability to concentrate or maintain control over her magical abilities.
  • Signature Headgear: Her signature tiara-like headpiece, which is an important part of Talokite culture.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She skirts the line at 5'8"/1.73m tall, but still quite attractive.
  • Super-Senses: She has shadow-sensitive eyes that give her the ability to see in darkness. She can draw strength from the slightest shadow or dark corner. She can also build up her power by wrapping her face in the folds of her cape and shielding her eyes from glare.

    Twilight (Lyda Jath)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/twilight_earth_27.jpg
A young woman from the planet of Kathoon, a world that exists in perpetual darkness. Enslaved and later captured by Brainiac, when she escaped she landed on Earth, living as a criminal until she joined the Legion.
  • Action Mom: She and Rokk have a son named Pol Krinn II.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Her skin has a purple tinge, and her eyes and hair are also purple.
  • Cleavage Window: She has three circular-shaped windows on her uniform.
  • Coat Cape: She wears her Legion jacket over her shoulders in this manner.
  • Genius Bruiser: Growing up in an alien advanced research facility, Lydda has a more profound understanding of advanced scientific principles than most would expect, particularly involving biochemistry and pharmacology.
  • Healing Factor: When not exposed to light, Lydda's cells have an enhanced ability to rapidly repair themselves. This regenerative healing is not instantaneous, and requires rest, but the darker environment she can find to rest in, the faster she will recover.
  • Indy Ploy: Having survived the harsh environment of a pirate ship and a resource-limited settings of her parents' research facility and the smuggler's mining colony, Lydda has learned to be exceptionally skilled at improvising with whatever materials are at hand. She is adept at using common items in unconventional ways to solve problems or create useful tools.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: When using this power, she is impervious to harm by extreme forces. If propelled at sufficient force, by either her flight ring or a super-toss, can use her dense body like a human missile, but only in darkness or deep shadow.
  • Official Couple: Her mate is Rokk Krinn/Polestar.
  • Required Secondary Powers: She has the secondary ability to see in the dark. Necessary if you fight in the dark.
  • Sickly Child Grew Up Strong: Kathoonians with activated metagenes are rather rare due to the often fatal illness that comes with having a metagene, usually resulting in their deaths during in childhood. Lydda was able to survive due to a suppressive medication throughout her childhood and the emotional support and caretaking by a loved one when she was older and had her system flushed of the medications by Brainiac.
  • Situational Sword: Her powers only work in the dark or in deep shadow.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: The trauma of losing her parents and surviving abduction and captivity has left deep psychological scars. These experiences have instilled a sense of perpetual vigilance in Lydda, leading to difficulty in forming close relationships and occasional bouts of anxiety or paranoia. When backed into a corner, Lydda will put her survival (and that of her loved ones) above all else.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She stands at 5'102/178cm tall, and she's very much attractive.
  • Stealth Expert: Lydda's time among pirates taught her the importance of moving quietly and remaining unnoticed. She has learned how to blend into shadows, move silently, and manipulate her environment to avoid detection. This skill extends to social subterfuge, where she is capable of manipulating conversations and situations to her advantage without drawing attention.
  • Street Smart: Having been around criminals both Earthly and extraterrestrial, Lydda has a keen understanding of the criminal underworld. Though she has been given a presidential pardon to exonerate her on her criminal history, Lydda is hesitant to use this knowledge as she would prefer to put this stuff in her past and not be reminded of it. Still, she has used her insight when she can help protect innocent people.
  • Super-Strength: Night Girl has the powers of super-strength, equivalent to that of Superman or Valor lift far in excess of 100 tons, but only in darkness or deep shadow.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: In the comics she was rejected at first to join the Legion due to situational nature of her powers, becoming a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, and would only become an official member of the Legion in the Retroboot continuity. Here she's part of the Legion from the start as a recruit.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her purple eyes appear to be completely black with glowing blue irises.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Lydda is not the best hand-to-hand fighter, mostly relying on her exceptional strength rather than formal techniques. Still, she has been trained to sufficient standards to serve in the Advena Legion.
  • Weakened by the Light: Kathoonians have a natural allergy to ultraviolet radiation. When working in daylight, Lydda must constantly wear protective sunglasses and/or apply special creams to shield her skin from sunlight - and should still limit her exposure. Without these precautions, Lydda is prone to getting migraines and sunburns.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Her powers fade immediately in the presence of direct sunlight.

    Virus (Salu Digby)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/virus_earth_27.jpg
Virus is Salu Digby. Born on the planet Imsk, she has the natural ability to shrink down to sub-atomic sizes.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: Salu's power are the result of Brainiac tampering with her species' naturally adaptable genes that eventually allowed her to shift size.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Straight or Bisexual in the comics, she's pansexual here.
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: She has pale gray skin and bright emerald eyes. Her purple hair is actually dyed, since her tribe is well known for doing this.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Salu is considered by her teammate Val Ar'Mar's assessment to be one of the finest hand-to-hand combatants on the team. In sparring competitions among her teammates, Salu has only been bested by Val Ar'Mar, Brin Londo, and Nura Nal.
  • Cast from Calories: The energy required for size adaptation is substantial; thus, during times of low energy availability (e.g., food scarcity or exhaustion), Salu's ability to alter their size can be compromised. Notably, Salu seems to require a meat-heavy diet in order to keep her size alteration abilities working at operational capacity.
  • Intimate Marks: She has an insect-themed tattoo in the center of her chest, which is the crest of the Digby family.
  • Logical Weakness: While in a minimized state, environmental factors such as water currents, wind, or even dust particles can pose significant hazards to Salu. These elements can disrupt her mobility or even cause physical harm if she is at a microscopic scale.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Has her bodysuit open all the way to her ribcage to show her family glyph.
  • Official Couple: Dating Ayla Ranzz.
  • Shrinking Violet: Trope Namer.
  • Sizeshifter: Salu Digby possesses the ability to shrink from normal human size to sub-atomic sizes, and any size in between. She retains most of her physical strength even at smaller sizes.
  • Stealth Expert: Salu's ability to shrink is invaluable for covert operations. She can bypass security measures, enter secure facilities undetected, and gather crucial intelligence without alerting adversaries. Her control over her visibility and tangibility makes her one of the Advena Legion's premier reconnaissance and infiltration specialists. Even at full size, Salu's agility gives her an edge at infiltration and moving silently.
  • Symbol Motif Clothing: Her clothes are shaped like the letter 'V', referencing her original codename.

    Sensor (Jeka Wynzorr)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sensor_earth_27.jpg
Sensor is a member of the royal family of the low-tech planet Orando, and possesses the superhuman ability to generate illusions affecting all five senses.
  • Animal Eyes: She has vertical pupils like those of a snake, which originate from her draconic ancestry. These eyes give Jeka the ability to see things that most sapient species are unable to perceive. Her eyes are capable of shifting their perspective through several visual mediums, enabling them to visualize heat, sound, light, intrinsic energy, and radiation.
  • Alien Princess: She's the legitimate heir to the throne of the planetary monarchy of Orando.
  • Battle Couple: With Val Ar'Mar, and they're very good together.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Working closely with Val Ar'Mar, Jeka is exceptionally skilled in martial arts. Combined her with speed, strength, and resilience, she's a very frightening opponent to come across. Nearly all of her body's joints are also double-jointed, allowing her to easily contort herself to escape joint-locks and grapples with remarkable ease - and making even more difficult for her opponents to escape her own joint-locks.
  • Chest Insignia: Besides her Advena Legion belt and jacket, she has an 'S' shaped insignia on her chest.
  • Cleavage Window: She has a circular window right below her 'S' insignia.
  • Coat Cape: Instead of an actual cape like the comics, she wears her Legion jacket in this manner.
  • Dragon Ancestry: Jeka and other Orandans of noble blood descend from the extinct Orandan dragons, which gives them serpentine eyes, distinct scales on their faces, and the elongated limbs that set them apart from the common folk.
  • Drugs Are Bad: Jeka retains an addiction to Zydranthea, which was administrated by her captors for years for their own amusement. Luckily, she's unlikely to relapse as the drug is more or less unheard of on Earth.
  • Facial Markings: She has some red scales around her eyes and a line on her chin.
  • Master of Illusion: Jeka's powers are based on the senses. When first introduced, she projected illusions. After her powers were increased, her illusions became so realistic that the subject of them could not tell reality from her projections.
  • Master Swordsman: Having trained extensively in the Orandan style of swordfighting, Jeka is a deadly fighter with a blade of any size or shape. She has translated these skills to the use of batons which she employs to subdue enemies, particularly when she is greatly outnumbered.
  • Mind Reading: Jeka has a minor ability to probe the minds of those around her. She is able to detect some unguarded surface thoughts, but most of her ability allows her an insight into the fears and desires of those in her close proximity.
  • Mythology Gag: Her snake-like characteristics are reference to her Sensor incarnation that was a giant talking snake that was forcefully evolved into a naga, while her Vauxhall name references his Rebirth incarnation.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Due to her name being so long, she's known as either Jeka or Jeckie by her friends.
  • Overly Long Name: Her full name happens to be Liwinema Gormana Daergina Anazandra Rojekatra Velorya Vauxhall Wynzorr.
  • Pride: Jeka's upbringing and entire culture has convinced her she is simply better than not only common Orandans, but just about everybody else. Though, she is still progressive by Orandan standards, she can be a bit too much for others to handle for long periods of time, unless they are accustomed to her and have built a rapport with her.
  • Primary-Color Champion: Her Legion uniform is mostly red with yellow accents, her eyes are yellow and her hair has red highlights.
  • Royally Screwed Up: Her father was The Good King, but he died in a suspicious Hunting "Accident", leading to Jeka being deposed and enslaved, likely due to machinations by her cousin and grandmother, who always resented her father for being named heir.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She stands at 5'10"/178cm tall, making her one of the taller female members of the Legion.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Jeka struggles with freezing cold temperatures, becoming lethargic. You might think that's because she's exothermic, but it's not that. In fact, she's anything but cold-blooded as her shed blood can actually scald human flesh and burn through fabric with tremendous ease. But when her body gets too cold, her blood actually begins to cool down and move through the body more slowly, decreasing her body's ability to function.

    Contender (Val Ar'Mar)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/contender_earth_27.jpg
Born on the planet of Graxos III, Val Ar'Mar is a master of every martial art being practiced across the galaxy, but karate seems to really excite most of his teammates, and he's ok with that.
  • The Ace: Val's athletic abilities are exceptional, combining natural Graxosian muscle regeneration with rigorous physical training. His athleticism allows him to perform acrobatic feats, endure long periods of physical exertion, and excel in various physical disciplines, making him highly adaptable to changing combat and environmental conditions.
  • Adaptational Species Change: Instead of a human Val instead comes from Graxos III, making him the same species as Arisia Rrab and Karu-Sil.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In most incarnations Val has black hair, but here it's dirty blonde.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: The most clear cut example in the entire Legion. Val's martial arts prowess is rarely matched, due to his extensive training with the Caretakers. From a young age, he was immersed in learning various combat styles, both armed (with archaic weapons) and unarmed. His ability to anticipate an opponent's movements and counteract them effectively makes him a formidable opponent in any physical confrontation. He views himself as a master in various Graxosian fighting styles, such as Zhao-Ten and Kirei-Shin.
  • Battle Couple: With his girlfriend Jeka Wynzzor/Sensor.
  • Does Not Like Guns: While highly trained in the use of archaic weapons and traditional combat, Val may find himself at a disadvantage in environments that require advanced technological knowledge or in battles where high-tech weaponry is involved. For religious purposes, Val does not use the standard issue LSF-1 handgun.
  • Fights Like a Normal: Contender has no actual superpowers besides his healing and heightened senses, but has never run into any trouble with the Legion's traditional superpower requirement.
  • Healing Factor: Graxosian regenerative abilities are particularly advanced. Minor cuts and bruises can heal in a matter of minutes. More serious injuries, such as broken bones can mend, within hours. Even maimed limbs and damaged organs can mend or, even entirely regrow, within days, provided the opportunity of a clean environment and plenty of rest and nutrients. This rapid muscle recovery also allows Graxosians to train their bodies relentlessly.
  • Honor Before Reason: Val's strong ethical and moral code, shaped by his upbringing among the Caretakers, compels him to act honorably and justly. This commitment, while admirable, can sometimes put him at odds with the pragmatic demands of the missions he undertakes, especially in morally ambiguous situations. His reluctance to compromise his values can lead to difficult choices and conflicts with allies who might prioritize efficiency or results over process.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: In addition to modern combat techniques, Val is an expert in the use of archaic weapons, such as swords, staffs, and other traditional armaments. However, as Caretaker tradition dictates that one should become less reliant on weaponry as they increase in skill, Val rarely uses such weapons except in dire circumstance or when he is training a pupil in the use of such weaponry.
  • Obstructive Code of Conduct: Val's adherence to his vows, particularly his commitment to avoid modern weaponry, places him at a tactical disadvantage in combat situations where such armaments are the norm. His refusal to use advanced firearms and other high-tech devices can limit his effectiveness in certain conflicts, requiring him to rely heavily on his martial prowess and traditional weapons, which might not always be sufficient.
  • Pointy Ears: The only real indication he's not human.
  • Pride: Val's immense skill set and success in his Caretaker training has bred a certain arrogance. Though he constantly strives to be humble (or appear so), his underlying confidence, while usually well-founded, can occasionally make him dismissive or prone to underestimating powerful foes. While this mindset drives him to continual improvement, it also means he takes defeat particularly hard. If bested, Val can become broken in spirit, focused on his perceived inadequacies, sometimes to the detriment of other responsibilities or relationships.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Raised in the remote Caretaker monastery on Graxos III, Val's early life was largely sheltered from the broader galactic society. This isolation, while providing a rigorous grounding in spiritual and martial disciplines, also rendered him somewhat naive about the wider world. While he possesses a keen ability to judge character, his inexperience with the more duplicitous or complex natures of others outside the monastery can lead him to relax his guard inappropriately. This naiveté makes him susceptible to manipulation, especially by those who might feign a shared code of honor or virtue.

    Chameleon (Yera Daggle)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chameleon_earth_27.jpg
  • Awesomeness by Analysis: Yera's keen observation skills extend beyond the physical, allowing her to read body language, tone, and subtle cues with remarkable accuracy. This intuitive perception makes her a skilled negotiator and an empathetic ally, able to anticipate the needs and reactions of those around her.
  • Cleavage Window: She has a heart-shaped window.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has magenta hair and eyes of the same color in default form.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her pupils are horizontal, like those of a gecko.
  • Humanoid Aliens: Durlans in their default form are very similar to humanoids, with antennae, orange skin and pointy ears.
  • Master Actor: Yera has honed her craft as an actor and impersonator, which complements her shape-shifting abilities. She adeptly assumes not only the physical characteristics but also the mannerisms and behaviors of others.
  • Me's a Crowd: Durlans have the ability to replicate themselves. This biological fission allows Yera to be in multiple places at once, effectively doubling or tripling her presence and capabilities. Duplicates may have Yera's personality and knowledge at the time of the separation, but the non-original lifeforms rapidly begin to degrade over time, structurally, mentally, and emotionally. This power also requires Yera to consume a large quantity of food prior to the division.
  • Official Couple: Currently dating Gim Allon.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Her jacket has pink accents and her hair and eyes are magenta.
  • Pointy Ears: Her ears are long and sharp to go along with her antennae.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: Yera has immersed herself in Earth culture, developing an expertise that is nearly unparalleled among her peers. Her comprehensive understanding of Earth's customs, languages, and social nuances allows her to blend seamlessly into human society, often serving as a cultural liaison for the Advena Legion.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Her brother is Reep Daggle, Chameleon Boy, to whom she was unrelated to in the comics.
  • Rubber Man: Despite typically maintaining a solid state, Durlan physiology allows for significant flexibility. Yera can extend and bend her form with the ease of an elastic material, adding another layer to her shape-shifting prowess.
  • Shapeshifter Default Form: Modern Durlans default form seems to be a mass of writhing tentacles, but interstellar prejudice against their kind have since required them to adopt other appearances while off-world. When openly traveling as a Durlan, it is customary for them to assume the look of the original Durlans, that of an orange-skinned humanoid with prominent eyes and dual antennae.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Like all Durlans, Reep possesses the ability to transform her body's size, shape and color to mimic any person, creature or object in the universe.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Durlan physiology, while versatile, is highly sensitive to extreme temperatures. Excessive heat can cause Yera's form to become overly malleable, leading to difficulty maintaining shape. Conversely, extreme cold can slow her molecular transformation processes, hindering her ability to shift and potentially leaving her vulnerable as her body shuts down and enters a state of hibernation.

    Dream Girl (Nura Nal)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dream_girl_earth_27.jpg
Nura Nal was born on the planet of Naltor. Naltor's native denizens are genetically inclined to be precognitives, with the ability to see into the future.
  • The Ace: She's considered a prodgy in Naltor, being a very powerful Spiritmaster, martial artist and law enforcement agent.
  • Alliterative Name: Nura Nal.
  • Astral Projection: Nura can project her consciousness into the astral plane, exploring other ephemeral realms while maintaining a connection to her physical body through an astral anchor. This ability allows her to gather information and interact with various spiritual dimensions.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Nura is highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, proficient in both Naltorian and Xanthuan martial arts. Her combat skills are comparable to Earth’s top martial artists. This capability is likewise further enhanced by her Spiritmaster training allowing her mind to process sensory stimuli at much greater rates than most other sentient beings.
  • Cleavage Window: Hers is shaped like a butterfly.
  • Dreaming of Things to Come: Like all people native to Naltor, Dream Girl is clairvoyant, and has the ability to forecast future events based upon visions she sees in her dreams. This ability is 100% accurate in all situations, though there have been occasions when Dream Girl has misinterpreted the visions that she sees.
  • Dream Weaver: Within the realm known as the Dreaming, Nura can navigate and manipulate dreamscapes, affecting the dreams of others or her own. This ability enables her to conduct espionage within dreams or explore deeper layers of the subconscious. However, interactions with the powerful entities of the Dreaming, such as the Endless, can be risky.
  • Facial Markings: She has a star on her right cheek, which signifies her status as a Naltorian Spiritmaster.
  • Mentor Occupational Hazard: Her mentor Garrun was killed by Validus of the Fatal Five.
  • My Skull Runneth Over: Certain environmental stimuli can trigger migraines for Nura, which can incapacitate her or severely impair her ability to focus and use her abilities effectively.
  • Mystical White Hair: She has long white hair and she can see into future throgh her dreams.
  • Official Couple: Her lover is Thom Kallor.
  • Plagued by Nightmares: Nura experiences frequent nightmares involving scenarios where her comrades are harmed or killed. These nightmares can disrupt her sleep and impact her mental health. The nightmares often depict her or her teammates being brutally killed by the Emerald Empress, the Fatal Five, an undead Kenz, or even her loved ones - such as recurring nightmares that feature Thom strangling her.
  • Really Gets Around: Naltorian biology includes a heightened libido, which can lead to aggressive behavior if not managed properly. However, Nura rarely sees this as a problem. She has no problem finding partners. They call her "Dream Girl" for a reason.
  • Related Differently in the Adaptation: Instead of her ancestor, Nia Nal is her youngest sister.
  • Smug Super: Her vast capabilities and accomplishments have led Nura to develop an arrogant demeanor, which can result in underestimating her adversaries and overestimating her own abilities.

    Behemoth (Gim Allon)
  • Adaptation Species Change: In most continuities Gim is a human who gained growing powers, or belonged to a species of giants who could shrink to human size. Here Gim is a native of Imsk, the same species as Salu Digby.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: He can increase his size up to twenty-five feet.
  • Gentle Giant: He is known for having a big heart no matter what's his size.
  • Love Dodecahedron: He and Salu Digby had an on-and-off relationship before he developed genuine feelings for her, but Salu developed feelings for Ayla Ranzz instead, and Yera Daggle, who always held a torch for Gim, impersonated Salu and ended up in a relationship with him, although she eventually came clean and Gam realized he also loved Yera.
  • Official Couple: With Yera Daggle, after sorting out his feelings for Salu Digby.

    Dawnstar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dawnstar_earth_27.jpg
Dawnstar is from Starhaven, a planet colonized by Anasazi Native Americans and Kherubim, whose inhabitants live in harmony with nature and use Magitek.
  • Adaptation Origin Connection: The alien race that brought a tribe of Anasazi who would become the people of Starhaven were the Kherubims, making her kind distantly related to Kryptonians and Daxamites.
  • Cleavage Window: She has a circular one in the middle of her costume.
  • Elemental Baggage: The efficacy of her wings and certain magical abilities are contingent upon the presence of ambient magical energies, which are abundant in her native star system but may be diminished or erratic in other cosmic environments.
  • Flight: Soh can fly at supersonic speeds, specifically reaching speeds up to Mach 3, which translates to about 2,301 miles per hour (3,704 kilometers per hour).
  • Magical Native American: Dawnstar and the other Starhavenites descend from Anasazi Native Americans who were brought to the planet by Kherubim scientists, who eventually interbred with the Anasazi, creating a society based around harmony with nature and Magitek. Soh's magical abilities, while limited in scope, include performing specific rituals and creating alchemical tinctures. Her knowledge of occult lore is comprehensive, focused particularly on naturalistic and shamanic practices.
  • The Medic: Soh is skilled in holistic and naturalistic medicine, utilizing her extensive knowledge of Starhaven's plant life (and similar flora found on Earth) and traditional healing practices to treat injuries and illnesses with natural remedies.
  • Native Guide: Having grown up on the rugged terrain of Starhaven, Soh is a proficient tracker and survivalist, equipped to handle and navigate through challenging environments, from dense forests to arid deserts.
  • Occult Blue Eyes: Her intense blue eyes convey that she's both descendant of Native Americans and her supernatural powers due to Kherubim heritage.
  • Official Couple: She's datind Ryand'r.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Her full name is Ha'yoolkáál Soh, but she's usually called Soh or Dawnstar, a literal translation of her name.
  • Power Gives You Wings: Instead of being a literal winged person, she can use mystical energies to manifest a pair of golden wings that allow her to fly. These wings are nearly indestructible against conventional weapons and munitions, providing not only rapid aerial mobility but also substantial defensive capabilities. They can effectively be used to shield herself or others from various attacks, and their structural integrity allows for offensive maneuvers, with a lifting capability of up to 500 lbs (approximately 227 kg).
  • Sensory Overload: Her psychometric abilities might lead to sensory overload, particularly in environments saturated with strong psychic residues, which can impede her effectiveness by overwhelming her sensory processing capabilities.
  • Wind from Beneath My Wings: By powerfully flapping her wings, Soh can generate robust gusts of wind. These gusts are capable of knocking opponents off their feet and can be tactically used to disrupt enemy formations or clear debris and obstacles from her path.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: Soh is adept in hand-to-hand combat, specializing in the traditional wrestling techniques of her home planet. These techniques emphasize joint locks and pressure points, making her highly effective in subduing opponents without reliance on lethal force.

    Wildfire (Ryand'r)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wildfire_earth_27.jpg
Ryand'r, also known as Wildfire, is the younger brother of Blackfire and Starfire, and a warrior from the planet Tamaran. He is a member of the Advena Legion.
  • Badass Family: He's the brother of two, very powerful Tamaraneans and he's no slouch either.
  • Carpet of Virility: His hairy chest is on full display.
  • Composite Character: Ryand'r is combined with Drake Burroughs/Wildfire, including his relationship with Dawnstar.
  • Mr. Fanservice: The most clear example among the entire Advena Legion, with his good looks, open jacket and mini-shorts.
  • No Shirt, Long Jacket: He wears his Legion jacket wide open with nothing underneath, leaving his chest exposed.
  • Official Couple: Currently he's dating Ha'yoolkáál Soh, better known as Dawnstar.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Like his sisters, Ryand'r dresses in purple and he's quite strong.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: Like most Tamaraneans, he has glowing green eyes, red hair and orange skin.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: In the comics Darkfire, and Tamaran as a whole, have no relationship to the Legion of Superheroes, but here he's a member of the Advena Legion.
  • Warrior Prince: Youngest prince of Tamaran and just as much of a warrior as his sisters.

    Andromeda (Loryl Gand)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andromeda_earth_27.jpg
A Daxamite and the older sister of Lar-Gand/Valor.
  • Brother–Sister Team: With her younger half-brother Lar.
  • Caring Gardener: While aboard the migrant fleet, Loryl took a keen interest in hydroponics. Until her abduction, she spent part of her day toiling in the fleet's hydroponics bays. Now that she is on Earth, she has taken up gardening as a hobby. It is not unusual to see her spending her time-off in the afternoons tending to the planters and gardens of the Legion HQ. She has also been working with Querl Dox to grow some alien seeds recovered from Brainiac's Menagerie in hopes of harvesting varieties of plant-life not found on Earth.
  • Cleavage Window: She has a small circular one in the middle of her comet Chest Insignia.
  • Cunning Linguist: Having lived aboard the Daxamite migrant fleet and been exposed to many alien languages at the Glacier Point detention camp, Loryl speaks no less than five languages: Daxamite (similar to Old Kryptonian), English, Graxese, Titanian, and Coluan.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She and her kind the Daxamites were forced to abandon their planet after Krypton was destroyed and then sent Doomsday to ravage the planet. Her refugee fleet was attacked by Brainiac again, costing the lives of her father, two siblings and her mother going missing, while she and her youngest brother Lar were subjected to the Coluan's experiments, after spending years in suspended animation she woke up on Earth, were she joined the Advena Legion.
  • The Face: Due to her beauty and being nigh-identical to humans, Loryl and Lar were chosen as the public faces and even Fanservice Models for the Legion.
  • Flight: Loryl is capable of defying gravity and flying at supersonic speeds (6,500 MPH, Mach 8) in a planetary atmosphere and possibly faster while in the vacuum of space.
  • Flying Brick: Just like Lar-Gand, as a Daxamite she can fly and is super strong.
  • Kryptonite Factor: Since the destruction of Krypton, its remains (rendered radioactive by the explosion) have been spreading throughout the universe as Kryptonite, a crystalline substance whose specific radioactive wavelength is lethal to Kryptonians and Daxamites alike. The most common form of Kryptonite is Green Kryptonite, and its effect is directly poisonous to Daxamites.
  • My Nayme Is: Instead of her usual name of 'Laurel', her name is the more alien sounding Loryl.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: Loryl's body is nigh-invulnerable due to her superhumanly dense cellular and anatomical structure as well as her radiating bio-electrical aura. Loryl, under some circumstances, is resistant or immune to different forms and levels of lacerations, blunt force trauma, energy-based assaults, falls from great heights, explosions, the cold void of space, toxins, and all known diseases on Earth.
  • Older Than They Look: She's chronologically over 40 years old, but because she spent several years in suspended animation on Brainiac's ship, she's still biologically in her twenties.
  • Power of the Sun: Loryl's abilities will eventually weaken without replenishing her biomatrix's energy reserves with yellow sun radiation. When exposed to the same red solar radiation as Daxam's red sun Rao, Loryl will lose her powers with a large amount of exposure.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's 6'2"/188cm tall, meaning she's actually taller than Power Girl and the same height as Wonder Woman.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Loryl cannot see through lead with her "x-ray vision." Furthermore, Daxamite's appear to have a severe allergy to lead. Though this is particularly pronounced in males, it is present in female Daxamites as well. If Loryl should ingest a significant amount of lead particles or received lead poisoning through some other means, her powers would be adversely affected.

    Alchemist (Jan Arrah)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alchemist__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dhbpxm2_fullview_9.jpg
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Jan has pale green skin.
  • Technicolor Eyes: His sclerae is yellow and his irises are different shades of pink.
  • Transmutation: The sole survivor of the planet Trom, Jan Arrah can transmute elements. Jan could transmute the elements of his own body; he was often exploring the nature of existence as a human-shaped crystal, metal or even wood.

Cascade and Chimera (Zan and Jayna Undar)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cascade_and_chimera__earth_27__commission_by_phil_cho_dhainde_fullview.jpg
Zan (Left), Jayna (Right)
Nicknamed the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna Undar come from the peaceful planet Exxor. Jayna has the ability to shape-shift into animals and Zan the ability to shape-shift into water constructs.
  • Alien Blood: Exxorians have sparkly purple, gel-like blood. This unique composition is more efficient in transporting nutrients and oxygen, and its gel-like consistency aids in quicker clotting.
  • Animorphism: While in physical contact with her twin brother, Jayna has the power to shapeshift, allowing her to transform her body into any living creature, real or mythical, as long as she has a conceptual understanding of its form or is familiar enough to assert that desire upon the intrinsic field. This ability extends to alien species and fantastical creatures, giving her an extraordinary range of physical forms to assume. Each form she takes also grants her the physical abilities and inherent powers of that creature, such as flight, enhanced strength, or aquatic adaptability.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: Jayna is an incredible vocalist who has perfect pitch and whose Exxorian anatomy allows her to hit notes that would likely be impossible for humans. With her enhanced hearing, Jayna can use this ability to mimic the voice of an individual she has some familiarity with.
  • Brother–Sister Team: One of the best known examples, and their powers requires for them to be together.
  • Can't Stay Normal: When they arrived to Earth, after being confirmed to be no threats, they were offered a job at the Advena Legion by Director Bones, although they rejected it at first and tried mundane jobs, only for their biological oddities to make them lose those jobs.
  • Chest Insignia: Instead of a 'Z' and a 'J' on their costumes, they have a 'C' to reference their new code names.
  • Elemental Shapeshifter: While in contact with his twin sister, Zan can transform his entire body into water, steam, or ice. This ability allows him to evade physical attacks by letting them pass harmlessly through him when in his water or steam form; and resist damage when in his ice form. These transformations can be strategic in battles, making him extremely difficult to contain or capture. In his water form, he can also slip through small openings, expanding his infiltration capabilities. He can also alter his mass, becoming anything from a puddle of water to a massive golem of ice.
  • Hidden Depths: Zan is an accomplished artist. He likes to sketch (in particular, he's prone to sketching his female teammates in candid moments), sculpt (again, he's partial to the female form), and paint (he really wants to try his hand at bodypainting).
  • Human Aliens: Other than slightly Pointy Ears, Jayna and Zan look almost exactly like humans. That said, on the inside they're very different, since they have two hearts, three lungs, purple gel-like blood and other organs that don't have a human equivalent.
  • Logical Weakness: The twins' super-powers are contingent upon physical contact with each other. Direct flesh-to-flesh contact is required to prompt their transformation.
  • Loss of Inhibitions: Known as Thunderlust, during a thunderstorm, the excited particles in the air cause Zan's libido to become overcharged. As a thunderstorm continues, Zan will become increasingly aroused and his inhibitions will rapidly diminish. Though it's worth noting that the impulse has never been so excessive as to cause Zan to force himself on anyone, he will be prone to lecherous behavior that can make others uncomfortable.
  • Lunacy: Called Moonmania, under the effect of a full moon, Jayna's transformations can become unpredictable. Even without the touch of her brother, she'll begin undergoing partial transformations into random creatures whose forms she has assumed recently. During these episodes, her judgment and ability to function effectively are severely compromised with her acting increasingly on impulse and instinct.
  • Making a Splash: Zan's primary ability is hydrokinesis, the power to manipulate water in all its forms. This encompasses a range of powers ranging from controlling the flow and motion of water to instantly altering its state from liquid to ice or vapor. Zan can create water constructs, freeze objects and enemies instantly, or generate clouds of steam for cover. His control is precise enough to allow him to extract moisture from the air in humid environments or manipulate bodies of water for defensive or offensive purposes with considerable ease.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Rather than using their Real Name as an Alias, they're given the codenames of Cascade for Zan, and Chimera for Jayna.
  • Pointy Ears: Exxorian's distinctly shaped ears enhance their hearing capabilities, allowing them to detect a wider range of frequencies.
  • Powers Do the Fighting: Zan and Jayna tend to rely on their powers rather than resort to fisticuffs. That said, they did receive some training on Exxor but... a society that hasn't had a military in a dozen generations really aren't the best at martial arts training. That said, Val Ar'Mar is working with them, but progress has been slow.
  • Sci-Fi Bob Haircut: Jayna has her hair in a bob cut and she's an alien superheroine.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Most animals are not threatened by Jayna's presence, tending to regard her as one of their own... however, being seen as one of their own does not always promise a docile reaction. This appears to be a passive effect that Jayna has little, if any, control over.
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Normally the Wonder Twins are unrelated to the Legion of Superheroes, but thanks to the change in backstory, they're members of the Advena Legion.
  • Twin Telepathy: The twins possess some degree of telepathy between the two of them, giving them incredible synergy when in close proximity to one another. Even when separated, the two have a sense of the other's emotional state and health.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting:
    • Zan could turn into water, including ice and steam.
    • Jayna could turn into animals, including mythological ones or alien ones.
  • Wonder Twin Powers: They are the Trope Namers. Both Zan and Jayna's powers reach their full potential only when they are in physical contact with each other. This dependency can be a significant disadvantage if they are separated from each, as it not only reduces their power but can also affect their confidence and strategic decision-making due to their reliance of synergized strategic thinking.

    Gleek
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gleek_earth_27_3.jpg
An alien blue monkey from the moon Zandar, which orbits the planet Exxor, and the pet, partner and mechanic of Jayna and Zan Undar.
  • Alien Animals: He's an Ilyxian or "Zandaran Blue Monkey". These creatures are known for their intelligence, stretchy prehensile tail, and the ability to learn basic speech. Cherished as pets on Exxor, ilyxians are often trained to assist their families in daily tasks and it is not uncommon to see them on the shoulders or walking beside their Exxorian companions as comfort animals.
  • Amazing Technicolor Wildlife: He's a blue monkey.
  • Chest Insignia: Like Zan and Jayna, he has a 'G' on the center of his suit.
  • Delinquent Hair: He has some dark blue fur on top of his head that brings to mind a mohawk.
  • Prehensile Tail: His tail is extendable and quite prehensile.
  • Talking Animal: Zandaran monkeys like him can even speak.

    Nexus (Jo Nah)

    Arcane (Ly'el Norg)
  • Invisibility: He can turn himself and his clothing invisible at will. His invisibility cloaks himself from many types of detection: ocular, auditory and telepathic.

    Glutton (Tenzil Kem)
  • Extreme Omnivore: His kind has the ability to digest practically all sorts of matter.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: While his power doesn't have many combat applications, it makes him nigh-impossible to contain.
  • Lethal Joke Character: When he says he can eat anything, he does literally mean anything. So not only can he destroy objects that nobody else can even scratch, but in theory he could bite clean through, say, a Kryptonian.

    Sizzle (Teela Spuunvll)

    Ferro (Endru Nolenn)
  • Chrome Champion: Ferro has the ability to convert the tissue of his entire body into an organic iron. He is able to transform into this armor-like state at will the process is virtually instantaneous and remain in that form for an as yet undetermined amount of time. If he is rendered unconscious, however, he spontaneously reverts to his normal form.

    Kinetix (Xoe Saugin)
Xoe Saugin, a native of the planet Aleph, gained the power of telekinetic magic and became the superheroine known as Kinetix.

    Blok
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Blok's rock-like body gives him superhuman strength and durability. Blok is a silicon-based life form, not carbon-based; he, and other natives of Dryad, are essentially living rock.
  • Immune to Mind Control: He is immune to telepathic attack or possession.
  • Mighty Glacier: His massive size makes him slow and sometimes clumsy.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: He is far more durable than a normal human, and can probably withstand impacts and pressures that could severely injure or kill a human with no discomfort.
  • Super-Strength: He is many times stronger than a normal human being, although his strength level is unknown.

    Gatekeeper (Ti'julk Mr'asz)
  • Insectoid Aliens: Comes from a species that look like bugs.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: Because his name is hard to pronounce, his teammates usually refer to him by his codename.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Gatekeeper has the ability to create glowing green, circular teleportation "gates", which people and objects can travel freely through to emerge from a partner gate at a location he himself defines mentally (it is also possible to make the trip in reverse, traveling from the partner gate to the original gate).
  • We Are as Mayflies: Inverted. Gatekeeper's species has a much shorter lifespan than humans, with 20 being elderly.

    Chill (Brek Bannin)
  • Alliterative Name: Brek Bannin.
  • An Ice Person: He's the Legion's resident ice person, in the same vein as Ice and Coldsnap for the Justice League.
  • Composite Character: Takes the codename of lesser known villain Chill, a member of the short-lived New Rogues.

    Lamprey (Tayla Skott)

    Thom Kallor

    Inferno (Dirk Morgna)
