Trope Pantheons Discussion

Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

[up][up] To answer that question, Kokoro's power is the ability to manipulate emotions, with each of her mask representing different emotions which she can use to impress that emotion onto herself and others. Her losing the Mask of Hope causes her to leech hope from others around her, leading to the events of Hopeless Masquerade. The finale of the game has her fighting against Reimu, Byakuren, and Miko in a 1v3 fight and winning.

[up] And a reminder that Byakuren & Miko are both classified as Intermediate Goddesses, and Reimu is a Lesser Goddess with the capacity and pedigree of beating deities with a higher deity rank than her. My estimate would be that Kokoro would likely be an Intermediate Goddess, a rank shared by most other Final Bosses in the series, such as Remilia, Kanako, Sumireko, & Junko.

Here's a suggestion for a new profile idea and a rework:

  • Arnie Cunningham & Christine (Resurrect the Wreck): Arnie is a nerd who purchases the eponymous car, which is originally in very poor shape, and after some tinkering, Christine is in pristine condition. However, Arnie becomes obsessed with the car, becomes much more antagonistic towards others, and it turns out that Christine has supernatural properties, being able to fix itself up from any damage that is done to itself (with Arnie doing the bare minimum of working on fixing up Christine in the garage the car is at).
  • Rango (Becoming the Boast): A rework for an outdated and lackluster profile that doesn't fit the 10-flavor text minimum on top of having some flavor texts being less than 4 sentences long. Rango is a chameleon who enters the town of Dirt who boasts about being a great hero despite not actually being a hero prior. After learning about the danger Dirt is facing, he goes back and in saving Dirt, he truly becomes the hero that he originally boasted about being.

Satori & Koishi Komeiji, Divine Duet of Sibling Polarity (Satori: The Girl Even The Evil Spirits Fear | Koishi: The Closed Eyes of Love)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/635px_komeiji_whos_who.png
Satori has no hat, Koishi has a hat. The hat helps Koishi relax. <3
  • Lesser Goddesses, though Koishi can content for Intermediate Goddess (Satori can also contend for Intermediate Goddess at her full power, but Koishi could go up to Greater Goddess if fully conscious)
  • Symbol: Their respective third eyes; a small version of Koishi's hat is worn by her closed third eye
  • Leitmotifs: Hartmann's Youkai Girl (Koishi); Satori Maiden ~ Third Eye (Satori)
  • Alignments:
  • Portfolio: Third Eye, Mind Reading (latter especially for Satori), Great Powers But Terrible Effects
  • Domains: Psychics, Sisters
    • Koishi: Subconscious, Emptiness, Hearts, Roses
    • Satori: Isolation
  • Heralds: Rin "Orin" Kaenbyou & Utsuho "Okuu" Reiuji (their servants)
  • Allies: Each other, Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Patchouli Knowledge, Alice Margatroid,
  • Enemies:
  • Koishi & Satori Komeiji- two sides of the same coin, but if a coin has two different faces, then they are two different people. Satori, the elder sister, is a frail but potent mind reader whose deadpan attitude & lack of social filter has made her a recluse, but is one to care about others and listen to their hardships. Koishi, the younger sister, closed off her ability to mind read and has detached herself from reality, now just a wanderer with terrifying strength and a strange fighting style, as well as being a thoughtless and cheery-looking girl who wants to just…do what, exactly?
  • Ever since the Tenkyuu Uprising, Koishi began making trips to the Hall of Mentalities, a deviation from her usual business of just appearing randomly. It wasn’t hard for Reimu and co. to see why, though- Koishi & Satori had met up again during the Uprising, and now the younger Komeiji sister is having reminiscing thoughts, missing her sister’s presence in the Pantheon. Having decided to leave the Pantheon to pursue a detective career in Gensokyo, Satori had been busy with life there, slowly exiting her Shut In shell to help with cases from time to time. But with Gensokyo’s place in the Pantheon shifting wildly since Chimata’s ascension, allies new and old would have to be ascended in order to meet up with these new and old threats. So with this and making Koishi happy again in mind, Reimu & her fellow incident resolvers took to the Court of the Gods to challenge Yun & Yang Lee for the trope of Sibling Yin-Yang in the Komeiji sisters’ place, a battle which they won handily.
    • The day after, Satori, who was in Chireiden as usual, got a letter delivered to her by one of her servants, Rin Kaenbyou. Inside, as she read with morning coffee in hand, was a invitation to return to the Pantheon to be with her sister Koishi as the Divine Duet of Sibling Polarity. When Rin was approached about Satori’s response, she said that she had never seen so much emotion out of Satori in her entire life up until that moment- being with her sister is, above all else, the most important thing to Satori. And yes, Satori was sipping her coffee when she read it, so she had a spit take upon learning of that fact.
  • Both of the Komeijis are still rather unwelcome to the House of Mentalism despite them moving out of it, and it shows. The other gods have an emergency code in place for when either sister is seen there- Code Anima, which stands for “If tou see a Komeiji, run the other fucking way. Get out of the House if necessary.” Many deities have also adopted this idea, especially given that Satori is one of the Pantheon’s most dangerous mind readers and ability-copying combatants, while Koishi can sneak up on ANYONE due to her closed mind and utilize an unorthodox combat style.
    • Sigmund Freud & Mara are two such deities that also picked up this trend, but not initially. Instead, however, they poked fun at Koishi for her rather…phallic bullet designs, a topic that gets Satori riled up. However, like everyone else, Satori has a limit, which was reached when both sisters happened to cross paths with the aforementioned duo at the entrance to the House of Love and Affection one time. And, well, shit went down, resulting in Freud, Mara, and Satori’s bans from the House, though Koishi was abstained because a ban on a someone like her is actually kind of useless.
    • One thing that has been noted by Alice (Margatroid) is that if you invert the colors of their outfits, it would be like they’re wearing each other’s clothes. Koishi thought this would be a fun prank to pull off, so she dragged her sister into doing it, causing quite the confusion when people began seeing Koishi as an antisocial mindreader and Satori as a thoughtless vagrant. Ange le Carré & Princess Charlotte weren’t fazed by these swaps, however, and quickly sussed them out in the open without much trouble, though they were quick to become friends afterward- especially now that Satori knows who actually is Ange and who is Princess.
  • Applies to Koishi:
    • Can call anyone and everyone in the Pantheon through the power of her Urban Legend, Mary-san. She would call them intermittently, ending as she is right behind them, causing quite the fright. Success may vary depending on who she’s scaring and/or whether she has a knife as an additional prop, but it is known to work- just ask Sumireko, and what happened after she got scared off by Koishi, among others.
Sumireko: Koishi always gives me the heebie-jeebies. Like, you get random calls that won’t stop and then you feel something scary from behind, and then, BAM! Koishi’s behind you with a knife! And she probably slashed you with it too, and it hurts like hell!
    • Prior to rejoining her sister Satori under their current trope, Koishi had previously been the Goddess of Subconscious & The Goddess Without A Self. For the former, it was for her abilities outside of the realm of the subconscious- making people see what she wants to see, as well as remaining invisible and unremembered by most. For the latter, it was because of her own state after she had sealed off her third eye, being just a Cloud Cuckoolander without the capacity to actually think nor feel a whole lot, or even nothing at all, hence why she’s very unsettling.
      • There was one recorded time where Koishi’s presence was made more tact & realized- that was, when she took the Mask of Hope from Hata no Kokoro. While she had it, she began feeling more, well, hopeful, allowing others to finally see her, though eventually the mask lost power and she went back to normal. Kokoro has consistently tried, even after this incident, to get that mask back from Koishi, even after Toyosatomimi no Miko made a new one for her. To Kokoro, Koishi is one of her few enemies, a sentiment not really shared by the satori, as well, Koishi loves not thinking.
  • Applies to Satori:
    • Satori is an honorary member of the ESP Research Club, ran by Haruka Kotoura, a membership that still persisted despite Satori’s inital exit from the Pantheon. To Haruka, Satori is like a reflection of her during her lowest point in life. And to Satori, Haruka is like Koishi prior to her closing her eye. Both are very much kindred spirits with each other, and the Research Club are esteemed guests at Chireiden.
      • Some generally opposed mind readers that Satori are generally well with are Psycho Mantis and Kyubey of all deities, the former for similar viewpoints when it comes to mind reading, and the latter because, well, it just simply leaves Satori alone without too much bother. Both Solid Snake & the Puella Magi are rather concerned about this, and specifically Homura Akemi is critical of Satori being benign towards Kyubey.
      • Mikoto Misaka and Lucario, though, are more amicable deities that Satori’s also friends with, as they generally don’t mind having their minds being read. And while still an ally, she doesn’t exactly like the fact that Manabe, a member of the ESP Research Club, usually has lewd thoughts, not like she had any towards Tsubasa Kudamaki one time, no. However, since her first departure, Cole McGrath had also departed from the Pantheon, leaving only his Evil Counterpart Kessler, who while also can block his mind out from readers like her, isn’t as good of a friend to Satori as Cole was.
    • Having powers isn’t always great; sometimes, the experience with them just sucks, especially for mind readers, a statement that Yayoi Kise made after she was sharply reminded of Haruka prior to meeting Manabe when she saw Satori one time, and all of a sudden felt sad about it, herself. A more recent case happens to be Sayori of the Doki Doki Literature Club, who at one point gained, and still holds the position of, the title of Club President, a position that Monika initially held but then resented after some time. Their meeting was…disheartening, to say the least, as Satori’s presence must’ve triggered something in Sayori to remember the bad version of herself that Monika and (Insert Name Here) had witnessed, which in turn triggered Satori’s own memories of her sister when she still had her eye open, crying to her. The encounter would be especially felt in the House of Despondency, who all thought that the Knight of Justice was unleashing her powers again; as for Sayori, she would sometimes meet with Satori since that meeting if her depression flares up.
    • Satori still usually holes up in her temple when not in Chireiden, a sentiment shared by Patchouli, who stays in either her temple or the SDM’s library. They usually chat over the Internet about what they’ve been doing, a conversation that is surprisingly long given how little they go out. While Patchouli used to dislike Satori for calling Koakuma evil at one point, she remembered that that was an Alternate Timeline, which heavily softened this contempt.
    • The House of Beasts and Fauna are fond of Satori for being an animal caretaker herself, as is a fellow Gensokyoan in Kasen Ibaraki. Being a mind reader means she can telepathically communicate to non-vocal animals, which make up quite a bit of the wildlife. The Hall of Beast Handlers also appreciate Satori’s presence, as through her, they can be able to communicate with the animals they take care of. Those who visit Chireiden would often tell you that animals mainly inhabit it, further cementing Satori as a friend to them.

[up] Mara is no longer in the Pantheon. Freud is now in Mentalism: Other.

Considering how Koishi's visible to some children, maybe she'd make some visits to Childhood and Adolescence to play with the child deities?

For Satori, Fluttershy is more comfortable around animals than other ponies, though this is more because of her shyness than others ostracizing her.

@Nitro Indigo- [tup] for Mount Volbono

On another note, I attempted to wait on doing this, but my brain just can't stop thinking about this. So, I'd like to propose a rework.

  • (REWORK) Jade, Goddess of Intrepid Reporters
  • Reasoning: Jade's profile seems to have been made from the very early days of the Pantheon and hadn't been touched since. No intro text, no real ascension text, six flavor entries max, and minimal interactions and relationships which are based solely on Jade's reporter profession despite many other potential interactions (such as the many alien deities that would bring the DomZ to mind). Jade doesn't even have Heralds even though she's got plenty options in her home series. Overall, she's overdue for a serious update. As for the trope, Jade is a photographer who runs her own photojournalist agency and naturally seeks out big stories. And Jade finds the story of a lifetime when she gets recruited by The IRIS Network to expose the sinister truth about the Alpha Sections, which requires her to sneak into highly secured facilities filled with soldiers, robots, and bloodthirsty aliens. Even after some devastating personal losses, Jade continued her work to show the people the truth.

First draft for the Panzer IV Medium tank, the most commonly encountered German tank in the Brothers in Arms series, and is considered as a major threat to Baker, Hartsock, and their respective squads each time it appears.

Panzerkampfwagen IV Medium Tank

Ausf. J variant, as seen in Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway
Ausf. F, as seen in Road to Hill 30
Ausf. G, as seen in Earned in Blood
  • Appearances: Three different variants of the Panzerkampfwagen IV Medium tank used by the German Army during World War II. The Ausf. F is painted gray and armed with a short-barreled 75mm gun, the Ausf. G is painted dark yellow with green and brown camouflage and armed with a long-barreled 75mm gun, and the Ausf. J is also painted dark yellow with green and brown camouflage, sports an improved long-barreled 75mm gun, and features additional protection in the form of hull sideskirt armor
  • Class Level: 5
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Museum Check: Granted
  • Portfolio: The primary tank used by the Germans throughout World War II, Tanks that are actually really capable threats, Being one of the most commonly encountered German armored units, The F variant primarily designed to deal with infantry and fortifications, The G and J variants meant to take out Allied armored vehicles, Have fought American and British tanks on more than one occasion, It's main weak point being the rear armor near the engine compartment, Well-armored for a medium tank, at the cost of being slower than most Allied tanks
  • Domains: Tanks, Combat, War
  • The Workhorse of the German Tank Corps, or Panzerwaffe, the Panzerkampfwagen IV, or Panzer IV, served the German Army from 1939 to 1945 in a number of different variants, all of which were the result of improvements made during the tank's production and service record. The tank itself would serve in all theaters and fronts that the Germans fought in, from the steppes of the Soviet Union, to the deserts of North Africa, and of course, the hedgerows of Normandy.
  • During the 101st Airborne Division's drops into Normandy, the Panzer IV was deployed against them during the Battles of St. Come du Mont, Carentan, Baupte, and St. Sauveur. These tanks would first be deployed in small numbers by the 100th Panzer Battalion, who mainly operated the Sturmgeschutz III Assault Gun, and would later be deployed in larger numbers by the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division. These tanks would be a mix of Ausf. F and Ausf. G variants, the former specialized in Anti-Infantry and Anti-Structure combat, with the latter variant specifically designed for Epic Tank-on-Tank Action and armed with a 75mm gun specialized for Anti-Vehicle and Anti-Armor combat. These tanks proved to be highly effective in their role, and were a significant threat to both the American paratroopers and American tanks that they regularly went up against. However, these German tanks would suffer heavy casualties, and were eventually pushed back alongside the infantry formations they were deployed with.
  • During Operation Market-Garden in September 1944, the 101st Airborne would encounter the Panzer IV once again, in the form of the Ausf. J variant. These tanks were used by the 10th SS Panzer Division. This variant was armed with an improved 75mm Anti-Vehicle gun, and featured improved armor protection in the form of Schurzen sideskirt panels. These tanks were heavily used in the German counterattacks at Veghel and Hell's Highway, and were also used to defend the village of Koevering, with the tanks suffering heavy losses once more to Allied anti-tank weapons and British tanks.
  • Following the actions at Normandy and Holland, three wrecked examples of this tank, an Ausf. F, Ausf. G, and Ausf. J, were recovered from these battlefields and ended up in the The Great Treasury's Vehicles Depot, on display as exhibits alongside other tanks from World War II, from similar workhorses like the (now replaced by an exact nonfunctioning replica) M4A3E8 Fury, to rarer German tanks like the Panzer VI Tiger Ausf. E, and even a number of prototypes like the Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte and Waffentrager auf E-100. These tanks had been brought in by none other than Dr. Rene Belloq, a renowned archaeologist with close ties to the Nazis. Belloq himself claimed that these tanks were placed there as memorials to battles long past, which of course none of the deities associated with the Western Allies or Soviets, or those who knew their history or Belloq personally, believed.
    • In fact, the intention of bringing in these tanks was for the same reasons that the aforementioned Tiger I tank had been brought in: to mass produce these tanks in order to bolster the increasing German military presence in the Pantheon. While the Tiger was and still is already an excellent tank, even in the Pantheon it was and still is expensive to mass produce on a large scale, taking a lot of time, money, and manhours to make just one tank, far more than it would take to produce a Sherman or T-34. The Panzer IV, meanwhile, while cheaper and less advanced, is still sufficient enough to take on most Allied and Soviet tanks on equal terms, and can equip a larger number of German tank units as a result.

In preparation for reading through Fallout: Equestria for Littlpip's profile, I decided to go through LPs of the Fallout franchise. I've finished 1 and New Vegas, and now that I'm looking through 2, I realize I have a nomination.

  • The Chosen One of Arroyo, Deity of Overly Generous Time Limits
    • Reasoning: Most time limit examples in the page are for specific events in their games. Fallout 2 has one that persists the entire game. Your time limit is 13 in-game years (more due to hard-coded game limits than any narrative reason, which is to find a Garden of Eden Creation Kit to save the village of Arroyo), but casual play can finish it at 4.

I know there are very few interactions from other deities, but I think I expanded on its functions for there to be musings on its possibilities.

Escafil Device ("blue box", Morphing Cube)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/escafil_device.png
  • Appearance: A glowing light blue cube
  • Class Level: 4
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Animorphism, Touched By Andalites, Super-Empowering, Imported Alien Phlebotinum, Can Be Disassembled (except that's perhaps a lie to trick David)
  • Domains: Morphing, Technology
  • Known Recipients: The Animorphs, (Insert Name Here) (By way of Alternamorphs continuity)
  • The Escafil device, so named after its creator Escafil, is an artifact invented around the same time as the 1960s on Earth that gives an individual the power to morph any living being they've acquired. It was first seen on Earth when the Andalite War-Prince Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul landed in an abandoned construction site where five human thirteen-year-olds were passing by. Against the laws of his people, he bestowed upon them the device's power, then told them to run before his enemy finds him. It was thought lost when Elfangor's ship was blasted apart by Visser Three's ships, but it somehow eventually landed in the hands of a human boy named David (it's suspected that Crayak was involved somehow) several months later. After they managed to re-acquire the cube (and induct David into the team, though it doesn't work out in the end), they managed to hide it again. It would get itself involved a few more times like when the tiny hyper-egotistical Helmacrons seized it and attempted to make off with it before they were stopped, when it was used to help the Yeerk Defector from Decadence Aftran 942 escape (by getting her stuck as a humpback whale), when a Cape buffalo and an ant ended up with the morphing power by accident on separate occasions, and when Tobias (with Rachel's help) gave it to his lost mother Loren to use to escape and to heal her blindness (though her memory could not be mended).
    • Unfortunately, it eventually ends up in the hands of Visser Three's (by then promoted to Visser One) forces by way of Tom stealing it while the Animorphs were recruiting disabled kids, and Cassie letting it happen by stopping Jake from killing Tom to stop him escaping. Against all odds, it was the right move, and it would result in dissent and political agendas that hampered the by-then-open invasion, as well as Yeerks who would find it as a means to escape their Kandrona-dependent existence, living as parasites, living under the rule of Vissers, and just be anything other than what they are now, and all Taxxons who want to escape their eternal hunger, led by former-Andalite-now-Taxxon-nothlit Arbron, and Tom's Yeerk would attempt an uprising and a plot to start a new empire with the morphing cube in hand, which would eventually lead to Visser One's defeat and surrender. Presumably, this cube was eventually re-appropriated by the Andalites, and four more were lent to the Animorphs to settle the issue with the Yeerk and Taxxon prisoners of war; to allow them to assume morphs and be stuck in them, freeing them of their races' inherent burdens. Another one would be provided for antiterrorism, and the tech is actually being considered by the Andalites to be traded in order for Krispy Kreme to expand their franchise to their homeworld.
    • As for how an Escafil device made it to the Pantheon? Well, just like every other Treasure; it's usually not known. And it's not even that impressive in the Pantheon given the existence of magic and other shapeshifters.
  • The Escafil device is operated by touch contact, and one individual, the "giver," who should already have the morphing ability, has to touch one side of it, while those receiving the morphing ability have to touch the other sides. When touched, it gives the user the permanent ability to "acquire DNA" from live animals and change ("morph") into the animal. There is no known limit as to how many morphs one can possess, though one would assume by means of its storage that the number would be quite high (highest so far is 53). And one can also heal using the morphing process. And while the process looks painful, it actually isn't.
  • In regards to the "morph" ability, the recipient, henceforth called "the Morpher", needs to make physical contact with the subject the Morpher wishes to "acquire" the DNA of, and concentrate hard to "acquire" them. Once that is done, the Morpher needs to think of that subject to transform into it. They will still retain their own consciousness but will also have to deal with the instincts of whatever they've turned into, and they also get the ability to thought-speak (which still has a maximum range akin to radio signals), even if the morph is capable of speech (given the cube is made by Andalites, it makes sense so they can continue communicating even if the morph cannot [thought-]speak).
    • As Tobias can attest to, if the Morpher doesn't turn back to their original form before two hours have passednote  (time to morph and time to de-morph—usually two minutes—counts in that time limit), they run the risk of suffering Shapeshifter Mode Lock, though that's relatively easy to fix in the Pantheon. Those stuck this way are referred to by Andalites as nothlits, and cannot re-acquire the morphing ability via the Escafil device. An Overdeity-level interference by the Ellimist was needed to restore the morphing ability to Tobias.
      • However, there is one loophole that doesn't require an Overdeity to step in. Natural metamorphosis resets the morphing clock, as proven when Cassie got stuck as a caterpillar, then became a butterfly. It is not known if other transformation processes will do the same, such as Pokémon evolutions, metamorphosis spells, or werewolf curses. Speaking of butterflies, it's not known if metamorphosis will make both forms accessible for the Morpher, given Cassie had no reason to use either morph ever again. But it's speculated that morphs age while in use, so it's likely that only the later stage would be accessible.
    • "Acquiring" a morph cannot be done in the following conditions: 1) making contact with someone with the same morphing power (though morphs done by other shapeshifters hasn't been tested), and 2) while the Morpher is currently assuming a morph. The Morpher must return to their natural form first before morphing into another form; transitioning between morphs is impossible, unless when suffering from being "allergic" to a morph. There are rare cases where a Morpher is "allergic" to DNA they have acquired, becoming nauseous, and prone to involuntary bouts of morphing when under stress, as was the case with Rachel when she once acquired a crocodile. After a certain amount of time, between a few days and a week, they commit the hereth illint (which basically means "burping DNA"), forcing out the creature in its entirety. Through the cascading cellular regeneration, an entirely new animal is created, and expelled from the Morpher's "roster", with predictable results should this animal prove to be dangerous.
    • Using the Frolis Maneuver, the Morpher can "combine the DNA" of several samples from the same species to create a new being for a morph, as perfomed once by Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill. But one cannot use a specific example used in that combination unless the Morpher "acquires" that sample again. Without the pressures of war, and because they've become much closer over the course of their adventures, even with the rifts made at the end of the war, Ax decided it was alright to teach the other Animorphs this technique. And it would prove helpful with the various new morphs they acquire in the Pantheon.
    • Z-space is involved when morphing into something of a different size than their regular body, extruding that mass into Z-space when assuming a smaller morph, and extracting from that space when assuming a larger morph. The process in which the Morpher assumes an acquired morph is random, and doesn't always adhere to logic or corresponding body parts except for the head if both forms have one.
    • If the Morpher's default size is altered, either shrunken or enlarged, then their acquired morphs will be size-altered accordingly in relation to when they acquired it. For example: If the Morpher becomes mouse-sized and morphs a mouse they've acquired back when they were normal size, their mouse morph will still be smaller than their base form, and by extension much smaller than a regular mouse. However, if the Morpher acquires an(other) mouse while shrunken, their mouse morph will be sized the same as the acquired mouse, and by extension this mouse morph will be larger once the Morpher's returned to normal size. And due to Z-Space being involved, the Square-Cube Law doesn't apply.
    • The Morpher can morph any living multi-celluar animal whose DNA they have acquired. However, one cannot morph a plant, a dead animal, inanimate objects (like chairs), or bacterium. Energy Beings, Mechanical Lifeforms, and other beings without DNA (e.g. the Crystal Gems) are among these exceptions. And one wonders what would happen if a Planimal was acquired (it would likely work, given Visser Three has a plant-like alien as one of his morphs). However, given that there's a lot more to a living being than just DNA, wonder if the ones among the exceptions really are exceptions.
    • When it comes to disabilities that might or might not be healed, as demonstrated with Loren and the Auxiliary Animorphs, paralysis from a car collision and blindness can be mended, but lost memories, being paraplegic, cystic fibrosis, and cerebral palsy cannot. As a psychological side effect, disabled people seem to have better control over their morph's instincts due to having to compensate for their less-than-ideally-healthy bodies with willpower born from enduring prejudices and condescension.
  • There is also the issue of clothing: unless it's skintight like a leotard or a wetsuit (jeans straddle the limit), it's not gonna transform with the Morpher, either bunching over them or being torn apart. This also includes shoes. However, there are at least two who manage to skirt around this issue; two instances of (Insert Name Here) in the Alternamorphs universes. The speed at which one can morph is dependent on a lot of factors, such as the Morpher, experience with morphing, and the morph being used, but always between 20 seconds (or even 10) and 5 minutes. One can actually "acquire" from sentient beings like other humans, aliens, etc., but this is ill-advised not only for moral reasons, but because there are more than enough impostors in the Pantheon as it is, and there are better methods of doing that than the Escafil Device.
  • Another word of warning: morphing eusocial animals like ants, bees, or termites is ill-advised lest the Morpher lose themselves in the Hive Mind (though it's easier to break out from the bee's instincts than the ant's). Morphing animals that can survive being split up is also ill-advised, since each "piece" can morph back into the Morpher... and their personalities will be split as a result. That was what happened when Rachel got cut in half while morphed as a starfish. It took help from the highly-advanced Chee to merge her two selves again.
  • When asked if the Morpher can morph oneself via acquiring oneself as a form of "armor", Tobias doesn't know for sure, and Ax doubts it would even work. Likely, this would require time traveling, which is admittedly more available in the Pantheon, but still not freely. As for whether clipped hair, fingernails, or even a severed limb would work, they're not sure either. In regards to "acquiring", the subject falls into a trance and becomes docile, similar to being tranquilized, though this effect lasts for mere seconds, so actually utilizing this is difficult, though it has been done. Also, the acquiring process may very rarely have no effect whatsoever, so it's not really worth "weaponizing" this.
  • The Escafil Device's creator species, the Andalites, merely use one or two morphs and master them for the purposes of subterfuge. The Animorphs however utilized this ability to the fullest, amassing a vast arsenal of Earth animals (mostly) for various purposes, specifically battle. The potential this cube has makes it deserving of its position in the Maximum Security sector, despite all the other powers and artifacts in the Pantheon that surpass this in terms of power. As a creator of another device that allows for its user to transform into another being for a limited time, Azmuth had a few things to say about the morphing cube; while it certainly allows for a much wider (yet at the same time also limited) range of potential species to be able to turn into with little risk of "DNA corruption", not to mention being able to grant its power to multiple people compared to the Omnitrix's one, it's more easily stolen, the granting of its power is not easily controlled now that the "prerequisite" seems to not exist anymore, and he thinks the whole "nothlit" risk could've been easily remedied with a "forced reversion" protocol like on the Omnitrix.

Long ago, before becoming what he is now, Dune was a child who was horribly mistreated by his Abusive, Homicidal, Power-Hungry Dad. He decided to make a deal with a mysterious entity for power, and had to fulfill a condition: Kill his father. Dune did kill his dad to complete the deal and get what he wanted. Having been sealed away, he’d have his minions do the dirty work for a while while he gradually regains his power, eventually returning in the present. With the help of the Infinity Silhouette, they managed to put Dune down for good.
  • A long time ago, Dune was in the Pantheon. However, some of the Magical Girl villains, namely Goyan, Queen Beryl and Death Phantom, have come to the decision that they want to increase their numbers. Death Phantom and Goyan would track down an asteroid belt somewhere else in the Pantheon, where Dune, during his first visit, had been killed by Sailor Saturn’s Silence Glaive. The Silence Glaive was actually the cause of the Asteroid Cluster, as it destroyed the planet that Sailor Saturn and Dune were fighting on. The HeartCatch Pretty Cures had managed to get Dune’s position as a deity revoked before he revived in order to put an end to the conflict with him. But Death Phantom and Goyan made sure that didn’t last. Taking what was left of his body that they found in the Asteroid Field to Planet Nemesis, they would begin work on resurrecting him. When nothing they did worked, Death Phantom revealed his trump card: A batch of Queen Metallia’s power that Beryl had lended him for this occasion, having spoke to her beforehand. Using Metallia’s power, this would end with Dune being completely resurrected.
    • A few days later, Dune was ready to announce his return: Bringing his Snackies, Desert Devils and Desertrians in as Heralds, he now believed it time to announce himself. With a sick smile on his face, he forced the Magical Girl Sisterhood to Divide and Conquer by sending multiple Desert Devils onto the Pantheon to terraform it. When the HeartCatch Cures destroyed the one they fought, their suspicions were confirmed by the sound of Sarcastic Clapping behind them, revealing that, much to their horror, Dune had returned. Floating in the air, he revealed that he had been informed by three parties he decided not to disclose to them, that they were the ones who revoked his title previously. Taking advantage of the wounds the HeartCatch Cures had sustained during their fight against the Desert Devil, he quickly went on the offensive and mostly targeted Cure Moonlight, as Death Phantom had revealed that she was the one who had the idea to revoke his title in the first place. When he was eventually overpowered, rather than going One-Winged Angel, he revealed that he had made a quick stop before this fight and abducted the sister of Cure Fortune of the HappinessCharge Cures, Maria, and telekinetically pulled her in front of him, as she was pinned to the ground by his magic nearby and hidden behind a few boulders. Using her as a Human Shield, he gave them a Sadistic Choice. Either give up and let him terraform the areas, or kill him and Maria. However, the timely interference of the Splash Star Cures attacking him from behind foils this, and he snarls at them but refrains from going One-Winged Angel when he sees the HeartCatch Cures about to merge into the Infinity Silhouette and decides to retreat instead.

[up] I can see Dune being enemies with Ozai whose personal nature as a power-hungry man and a horrifically shitty parent would remind Dune of his own father.

By extension, while Zuko, Ozai's son, might pity him, Dune is too much of a threat and is mentally too far gone to properly communicate with, so they'd end up fighting against each other.

In general, Dune would be enemies with or heavily dislike Abusive Parents while offspring of said parents might understand why Dune is so hateful of life, even if they won't stand for it for obvious reasons.

Beta draft for Anjanath. This is honestly one of the easier profiles I've done, but I'd still be happy for suggestions. Namely, any other dinosaurs, dragons, and/or a combination of both, any other highly territorial/aggressive beasts, any hunters who want to hunt Anjanath for a challenge, and anyone who would like to look after the Wyvern ala in a conservatory sort-of way?

Any others ideas and thoughts would also be appreciated.

  • Brute Wyverns are a flightless type of wyverns, well-known for their largely similar appearance to large theropod dinosaurs and possessing strong physicality, defenses and tenacity anytime they're fighting or are in a hunt. Anjanath, a type whose resemblance to the Tyrannosaurus, may not be the most unique or powerful of the Brute Wyverns, but they have been seen as one of the most notable and distinguishable of its kind thanks to just that, but also for its colourful and avian-like appearance as well as being among the most determined and tenacious of the Brute Wyverns, with perhaps only the Deviljho matching that regard. The Wyvern is largely a solitary animal in the wild and inspires fear towards its prey and other predatory competitors, but despite this, rarely gets to be apex predator due to its ecological needs and expectations being largely similar to that of Rathalos, who Anjanath has since developed a strong rivalry against and mostly comes off a second-fiddle to the Flying Wyvern whenever they fight for territorial and feeding disputes. Even so, Anjanath still maintains its reputation as a powerful creature whose strength and tenacity would prove a worthy challenge for hunters aiming to tackle stronger wyverns and Elder Dragons, and the Fierce Jaw Wyvern itself has seen its better days, with a variant, the Fulgur Anjanath, being able to challenge and even dominate other competitors it's normal version would struggle against and maintaining its place as an apex predator more consistently as a result.
  • The first sightings of an Anjanath in the Pantheon were rather tame and mundane in comparison to most monsters. Rather, one was discovered by a group of wildlife explorers who were exploring the House of Beasts and Fauna to check on and look after any animals they could find in a designated habitat, which just so happened to be a dense woodland forest. One of the explorers mistook the Anjanath for a Tyrannosaurus, that is until it suddenly flared up its wings and nostrils and blasted a strong breath of fire out of frustration. The explorers were shocked by the sight of what they thought was a fire-breathing dinosaur, but with their interest further piqued, they followed the Anjanath, carefully doing their best to not alert it of their presence. This led them to a large tree tunnel where the Brute Wyvern grunted and simply laid down to rest, followed by the explorers taking notes and some photos before taking off, feeling that disturbing the Anjanath would be the last thing they would do. Since then, Anjanath has become well-known as a fearsome predator in woodland and scrub habitats around the Pantheon and has a reputation as being among the more powerful carnivores to challenge, something that it does enjoy... unless there's a Rathalos, Rathian, or an equivalent to uproot that.
  • Although its ascension into the Pantheon was surprisingly not so eventful, Anjanath is still, for all intents, a formidable predator wandering in forests and deserts who likes to see itself as an apex predator. Its tyrannosaur-like appearance is notable enough to alert most people about what they're exactly looking at or dealing with, which helps with its reputation. Even then, the Brute Wyvern faces more annoyance over the fact that despite being in new grounds, it still has to deal with Rathalos and Rathian over territorial disputes, and losing most fights. Anjanath deals with this by attacking smaller animals as a form of stress relieving, which ultimately ended up making it a rather unpopular beast from whatever populace it stumbles across. Even worse, the Pantheon has given way to more rivals and competitors, though Anjanath has seen a bit of luck in besting other beasts, especially when its Fulgur variant is able to fight a Tigrex to a draw. Beyond that, Anjanath sometimes also visits the Hall of Fire and Heat and enjoys the place's volcanic activity as well as any warm caves where it takes comforting rests, while a Fulgur Anjanath would do the same thing regarding the Hall of Electricity.
  • The Gang of Seven have encountered Anjanath on a few occasions, including a time when it battled a Rathalos and lost, followed by the Brute Wyvern noticing the young dinosaurs shortly after and attacking them out of rage. The septet were able to fend for themselves pretty well and even tripped the Anjanath with a well-timed jump from a log. Even so, they were taken aback by the Brute Wyvern spouting blasts of fire from its mouth, which terrified the gang as they felt it would risk burning down the forests. Thankfully, they were able to escape thanks to a Carnotaurus pair noticing their potential hunting field being threatened and seeing Anjanath as an out-of-control rival that needed to be driven off. It's not the first time an Anjanath has attacked a group of forest residents or baby dinosaurs, but the Gang of Seven do remain the first notable instance of an Anjanath attacking something out of petty grievance.
  • As much as the Gang of Seven don't like the Anjanath for attacking them for very disproportionate reasons, even predatory dinosaurs dislike Anjanath, either because they think the Fierce Jaw Wyvern lets itself get irate and attack others to feel better about itself, or because Anjanath is simply annoying. Even Sharptooth and One Eye, two of the most notorious tyrannosaurs in the Pantheon couldn't get along with the Brute Wyvern, and that was only because they decided to step into an Anjanath's territory and make a kill. The Brute Wyvern, irritated by the commotion the tyrannosaurs caused, was quick to fight them, with all participants inflicting a number of scars and gushing blood at each other before the Monster Hunters were called in to quell the fighting by knocking them out asleep and sending them off to separate locations to wake up in. The Anjanath is mostly impersonal, choosing to just look after its hunting field while Sharptooth and One Eye are more than willing to restart their fight out of misplaced pride and to present their superiority against a new rival.

@ Dune: You know I kind of want to joke about how Anakin would hate him because of the sand meme, but if anything he'd reinforce Skyguy's distaste for deserts beyond the incredibly personal reasons

Does anyone else want to make either reworks (mainly) or new profiles from the series of A Song of Ice and Fire universe? With the exception of anything House of the Dragon, at least until that show has concluded. I'd like to hear your ideas

[up][up]I think I'll give up on my Hauzer profile, as well. I was going to ask if he could be Anjanath's high priest, but it seems you already have someone else for that...

This should say "who resembles the Tyrannosaurus".

Mount Volbono, the Weird Land of Weird Food

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mount_volbono.jpg

  • Area: Fictional Settings
  • Description: A pastel-coloured, volcanic valley filled with low-poly vegetables and blocks of Swiss cheese.
  • Symbol: A cauldron on top of a volcano
  • Theme song: Mount Volbono
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Weird World, Weird Food, Level Ate and Lethal Lava Land, Convection, Schmonvection, Fantasy Counterpart Culture of Italy, inhabited by anthropomorphic forks, has cyan checkpoints and Power Moons, there's a Disconnected Side Area at the peak, its music was made using kitchen utensils
  • Domains: Cooking, volcanoes, low-poly pastel aesthetics
  • Sacred to: Mario, Cappy, the entire House of Food
  • Visitors: Yoshi, Anton Ego, Gordon Ramsay, Remy, Hercules, Teostra and Lunastra, Mung Daal Catering, many members of the Hall of Chefs and Establishments (such as Ignis Scientia and Sanji), King Dedede, Gourgeist
  • Banned from entering: Bowser, Obelix, Mr. Dark, Gohma Vlitra, Kirby, Deviljho, Jabba the Hutt, Nutty
  • Situated in the Luncheon Kingdom, Mount Volbono is famous for its food. The volcanic climate allows vegetables to grow to huge sizes, the ruins of the old town are covered in salt, and the foothills are covered with blocks of Swiss cheese that can be chiselled like rocks. The locals — anthropomorphic forks called Volbonans — use these ingredients to make soup, which they boil in cauldrons heated by the pink lava. This may sound like a fever dream, but their Stupendous Stew is so good that Bowser stole it to serve at his wedding with Princess Peach. Fortunately, Mario and Cappy put a stop to his plans.
  • The Volbonans were surprised to learn that their homeland had been connected to the Pantheon, but they're welcoming to most visitors. Most of them live in Peronza Plaza, which is just up the hill from the ruins of Old Town. In turn, they're interested in the House of Food and can be found visiting its many restaurants. However, a few gods are banned from entering. The Volbonans still haven't forgiven Bowser for stealing their stew; Kirby, Deviljho, Obelix, and Nutty would probably eat everything (and in Nutty's case, it could end messily); Mr. Dark might try to annex Mount Volbono into his kingdom of sweets; no-one wants to know how much havoc Gohma Vlitra could wreak using its unusual lava; and the Volbonans can't stomach Jabba's table manners. Obelix once tried to sneak in by disguising himself as a chef, but nobody was fooled.
  • Mario and Cappy have taken many of their friends to visit Mount Volbono. One of them was Yoshi, who'd been there before; Mario was surprised, so Cappy pointed out there's a portal to the Luncheon Kingdom in Yoshi's house. Despite Yoshi's huge appetite, he prefers to eat invading Koopas over vegetables, so his presence was welcome.
  • Unsurprisingly, many gods from the House of Food are interested in Mount Volbono. Gordon Ramsay and Anton Ego were both interested in trying the Stupendous Stew; the Volbonans were nervous that it wouldn't live up to their high standards, but breathed a collective sigh of relief when they both liked it. Remy isn't a connoisseur, but instead visited to get inspiration for new recipes. However, nobody expected Hercules to visit. He explained that Mount Volbono reminds him of Mount Vesuvius, which is sacred to him.
  • Teostra and Lunastra once visited, and everyone went quiet. They watched from a safe distance as the duo prowled around like they owned the place, completely impervious to the heat. In the end, the Volbonans contacted the Monster Hunters to relocate them before they could claim it as their territory. For weeks, the lava rivers were sectioned off while the hunters cleaned up all the leftover explosive powder.
  • The members of Mung Daal Catering feel right at home here. They also live in a colourful, whimsical world, and their livelihood is making weird food. On their first visit, Chowder helped himself to several cauldron's worth of stew before the Volbonans had to drag him away. In turn, many Volbonans have visited their restaurant.
  • Due to the large piles of salt that are constantly blown around by the wind, amphibians, earthworms, and land gastropods avoid Mount Volbono like the plague. Earthworm Jim has another reason to never visit: it reminds him of Level Ate, a dangerous place made of food, and filled with killer salt shakers and giant forks.
  • Once a year, the Volbonans hold a Cooking Carnival in Peronza Plaza. Ever since Mount Volbono was connected to the Pantheon, they've turned it into a competition where chefs from all over the Pantheon compete to create the best meals. The first year, Remy, Sanji, and Ignis were the top three.
  • The Volbonans were wary about letting King Dedede into Mount Volbono due to his history of stealing food, but he assured them he'd changed since then. The main reason he wanted to visit was so his army of Waddle Dees could try the stew. It was an adorable sight to see, and many tourists took photographs of Waddle Dees sleeping around Peronza Plaza.
  • Mount Volbono is also of interest to the House of Plants because of its fertile soil. The Volbonans have a trade agreement with the Hall of Miscellaneous Plants, which has a regular produce market. Gourgeist visited Mount Volbono night in hopes of pulling a prank, but despite being a ghostly jack-o-lantern, she was the one who got a fright; the Volbonans mistook her for a non-anthropomorphic pumpkin and tried to cook her. The Volbonans sent her a chef's hat as an apology, but she still hasn't returned.
