Characters / Voltes V Legacy: Boazan Star Empire

    open/close all folders
    As a whole
  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In the original anime, Jangal Rui looked like a Big Red Devil with a head full of hair. His Legacy counterpart is more human-looking in comparision. Draco also lacks Jangal's prominent beer belly.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change:
    • In the original anime, Heinel and Katherine were childhood friendsnote  In Legacy, Zardoz only meets Zandra after Zambojil assigns her as an aide to him.
    • In the original anime, Zambajil was the Son of a Whore. In Legacy, this is changed to his mother being a woman who the Emperor never married. It's also implied that she has some standing in Boazanian nobility.
    • In the original anime, Marquis Zaki was a Treacherous Advisor sent by Zambojil to kill Heinel. Zaki and Zuhl would conspire to kill Prince Heinel together, only for Zaki's plan to backfire and swallow him in the carnage. In addition, Marquis Zaki and Girion never met.
    • Girion was a Horned Boazanian, but due to the fact that his parents were both Hornless, he faced discrimination from Boazanian society. He trained under General Dange as a warrior, who became a father figure to him and refused to treat him badly because of his heritage. Girion had great respect for the man, breaking down when he was shown his corpse. Takeo and Arisa, however, were raised by Watson since birth. They were hired by Marquise Zaki to show up Zardoz and spar with the Voltes team for the nobles' entertainment. They demanded General Watson back from Camp Big Falcon, only to be told of his passing by the Voltes team. They never got to see his corpse.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Zardoz frequently insults his aides and tends to belittle them, in a way that's rather over-the-top compared to his anime counterpart.
    • While both Zandra and Katherine looked down on humans, Katherine had no issue with the invasion and was Just Following Orders while Zandra is eager to participate in Prince Zardoz's conquest of Terra Erthu. She also didn't feel sympathy for Takeo and Arisa's deaths, while Katherine was shocked upon witnessing the Execution of Girion.
    • Zander is seen abusing a Hornless Boazanian and actively aiding Zardoz's war efforts, something his anime counterpart never did.
  • Adaptational Name Change: As the characters are named after the 1977 Philippine-English dub of Voltes V which changes the name of almost every character, this trope is in full effect.
    • Prince Heinel to Prince Zardoz.
    • Katherine Rii to Zandra.
    • Jangal Rui to Draco.
    • Lozaria to Rozalia.
    • Prince Gohlnote  to Baron Hrothgar.
    • General Gurul to Baron Zander.
    • Belgan to General Oslak.
    • Beast Knights to Beast Fighters.
    • Godol to Godor.
    • Aversions: Zambojil, Zuhl, Zaki (albeit Gender Flip) and most of the Beast Fighters, sans Negg.
  • Adaptational Nationality: In the original anime, The Boazanian Empire were a Fantasy Counterpart Culture to France. Legacy rewrites this to them being a Fantasy Counterpart Culture to the Middle East. Oslak wears a keffiyah, and Zaki's aides wear hijabs. Legacy also rewrites the Boazan language to be derived from Arabic - for example, an early episode of the series reveals to us that the Boazan word for "Star" is "Najmi".note
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Downplayed with Zambojil. His counterpart in the anime was a sole agent, but in Legacy, he was encouraged to steal the throne by his mother, who was bitter about not being recognized as the Emperor's wife.
    • In the original anime, Heinel was a Tsundere to Katherine, while his live-action counterpart, Zardoz, is openly affectionate towards the woman he loves. Heinel also had no qualms about murdering children, but Zardoz listens to Steve when he begs him to let Little John go.
    • Downplayed with Negg. Unlike the original run, Negg doesn't go out of its way to unnecessarily destroy all the model boats before proceeding with Little Jon and the other humans in the harbor.
    • Downplayed with Zuhl. In the original anime, he shot down several ships of hornless Boazanian rebels who arrive on Earth. But here, he leaves them alone after capturing Hrothgar's ship with the tractor beam of the Skull Ship, as his mission is to capture Hrothgar, not to obliterate any opposition on sight.
    • Marquise Zaki seemed to genuinely love Takeo and Arisa and defended them from Zardoz's wrath. She even honoured them after their execution. In contrast, Marquis Zaki was only interested in sucking up to Emperor Zambajil and threw liquor all over Heinel to humiliate him.
  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • This version of Zardoz is shown to be a lot crueler and more sadistic than his anime counterpart, torturing his subordinates with much more severity for their failures and at times even takes out his frustrations on slaves by murdering them on the spot.
    • In contrast to her anime counterpart, who was unnamed and never seen, Contessa holds a lot of resentment towards the former Emperor of Boazan for not marrying her and making her Boazan's queen. As a result, Contessa encourages her son, Zambojil, to usurp the throne from Hrothgar, despite the fact that Hrothgar himself was chosen by the Emperor as his successor. Contessa also takes a newborn Zardoz from his recently deceased mother and doesn't raise an eyebrow at Zambojil killing Zardoz's paternal grandmother Fadsa.
    • Oslak here is an attempted rapist, trying to get kiss Zandra after touching her once she's under his control. Zardoz even refers to it as such ("The next time you try to molest Zandra, I will deal with you personally!"). In contrast, his anime counterpart merely had her drink with him until Heinel yelled for it to stop, breaking the mind control.
  • Named In The Adaptation:
    • The mother of Baron Hrothgar is named Fadsa. In the original anime, Prince Gohl's mother was never named, even in supplementary material.
    • Zambojil's mother is named Contessa, while in the original anime, she was simply referred to as "Concubine".
    • Averted for the previous Emperor of Boazan. He was simply known as "Emperor" in the closing credits.
  • Race Lift: In the original anime, Heinel was pale-skinned, while Jangal's skin was red and Zuhl's was blue. In Legacy, Zardoz has a darker complexion, while Jangal and Zuhl's appearances are toned down from monsters to humans (being played by Carlo Gonzalez and Epy Quizon, respectively), and have similar dark brown skin.

Boazan Star Empire

    In General
  • The Dog Bites Back: The horned Boazanian nobility are on the receiving end of this as the entire hornless Boazanian population rose up in rebellion across the planet with the help of Camp Big Falcon and Voltes V. Their forces and defenses were easily overwhelmed, not even the reawakened Godor can stop it.
  • The Empire: They are this in a nutshell, where they conquer planets and assimilate them into their fold.
  • Fantastic Caste System: In the empire, the horned Boazanians are the ruling nobility and they poorly treat the hornless Boazanian people as slaves. And if the latter step out of line, they are sent to prison camps for the rest of their lives. Hrothgar puts an end to it when he becomes the new emperor of Boazan after the downfall of Zambojil.
  • Fantastic Racism: The Boazanians with horns look down on their hornless counterparts and also humans for resembling them. When Voltes Team are brought into the fighting arena by Zaki, they were booed and mocked by the horned Boazanian nobles among the audience.
    • On the other hand, the hornless Boazanians do not disregard the humans and are willing to work together with Camp Big Falcon to combine the Solar Bird and the base into Solar Falcon before heading to Boazan with intent to liberate it from the tyranny of Zambojil once and for all.
  • Human Aliens: The Boazanians, both horned and hornless, resemble humans of Terra Erthu. However, there is a difference as shown when Hrothgar undergoes a bioscan which shows that a Boazanian's body temperature is higher than a human, and that a Boazanian is Made of Iron where they are tougher than they looked and bullets are unable to penetrate the skin although they can draw blood.
  • Rich Bitch: Most Boazanian nobles dress in fancy clothes, live lavishly and live off the labour of the Hornless.
  • They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: Hornless Boazanians are this as they can fit right in among the people of Terra Erthu without issue (as long as they're not outed by high temperature levels or lack of legal papers of their existence). Prince Zardoz had the hornless Boazanians infiltrate human society as his spies; Hrothgar brought his fellow rebels to this planet where they can have refuge there; and Takeo and Arisa dressed up as human civilians to ambush and capture Little Jon by pretending to be his fans.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Even after discovering the Volt Frigate's pilot, none of them have any qualms over destroying him. Draco in particular shows glee in seeing Negg constrict the Frigate.

    Emperor Zambojil Zu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/christianvasquez.png
Zambojil

Played by: Christian Vasquez

The leader of the Boazan Empire, Emperor Zambojil was the bastard child of the previous Emperor before clawing power away from the rightful heir, that being his cousin Baron Hrothgar. Under him, the Empire has become conquest hungry and cruel, treating other races as bugs to be squashed.

  • Adaptational Badass: Downplayed. While Zambojil attempts to flee from Boazan, he is capable of defending himself from the Boazanian rebels with his sword and duel against his cousin Hrothgar. This is in contrast with his anime counterpart who immediately loaded the wagon with riches and tried to escape.
  • Adaptational Wimp:
    • He's often yelled at by his mummy, for one.
    • In Legacy, Zardoz's failures on Earth affect how the other nobles view him. In the original anime, because he planned for Heinel to fail from the start and mocked him in front of the other nobles, he faced no such issue and was beloved by all.
  • The Ageless: He seemingly looked the same in Hrothgar's flashback as he does now, in contrast to his anime counterpart Zambajil who at least looked older with a small mustache.
  • Ambition Is Evil: He schemes of becoming the new emperor of the Boazan Star Empire, which he succeeds by de-legitimizing Hrothgar of his hornless nature, and conquering the universe under his rule.
  • Bastard Bastard: He is the bastard son of the previous Emperor of Boazan and his concubine Contessa, and he is an evil power hungry man who took away the throne from Hrothgar by revealing his fake horns in front of the court.
  • Dirty Coward: Just like his anime counterpart, he is this as he tries to find a way to escape from Boazan in the middle of a liberation by the forces of Hrothgar's rebellion and Camp Big Falcon aided by Voltes V. Zardoz calls him out on this when he finds out his uncle intends to abandon Boazan.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: His mother, Contessa, is this and she encourages him to seize the throne from Hrothgar, which he did.
  • Evil Is Petty: Has Prince Zardoz invade Earth for sheltering his disgraced cousin Hrothgar (plus possibly leaking Boazanian tech secrets to them), as well as looking like hornless Boazanians. His pettiness compels him to start the invasion of Earth much sooner than expected.
  • Evil Gloating: He tends to do this as he rubbed in Hrothgar's face of his current state after exposing his cousin's hornless nature to the court and ruin his chance to become emperor of Boazan, and mockingly tells Hrothgar that his mother Fadsa and his wife Rozalia are dead, which they are actually in house arrest but later on Rozalia died giving birth to her son Zardoz and Hrothgar's mother died failing to stop Zambojil from taking her grandson away
    • He also brags to Hrothgar that he will conquer the planets of Brahmin, Tau Cetis, and Gliese and assimilate them into the Boazan Star Empire.
  • Evil Uncle: He is this to Zardoz after he took him away from Fadsa whom he killed her with a dagger when she tried to stop him from taking her grandson and raise and indoctrinate him. Despite the boy's admiration of him, he disregards his nephew for being the son of his exiled cousin.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Zambojil is capable of decorum and superficial charm blending well among the Boazanian society, but soon drops the act once he rubs it in on Hrothgar's face after exposing him as a hornless Boazanian, and even berating Zardoz for his failures.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: He is this as he is the reason why Hrothgar fled to Earth after de-legitimizing him from the throne by exposing his hornless nature and later he tasked his nephew Zardoz to invade the planet to conquer it for harboring his cousin.
  • Kick the Dog: After receiving confirmation of no sign of Hrothgar hiding there on any planets (until he's found at Terra Erthu), he invaded them anyway.
  • Light Is Not Good: He has dirt blonde hair and wears light-themed royal attire of an emperor but is a ruthless bastard, especially to his cousin, Hrothgar. After he had him enslaved, Zambojil lied that that he killed his first wife and child just to break him.
  • Oh, Crap!: He is naturally terrified after the Solar Falcon escaped the Posi-Negatron while the said weapon was destroyed, and the full blown revolution across Boazan broke out with the hornless Boazanians rising up against him.
  • Smug Snake: He does this whenever things go his way and he revels in being emperor after usurping his cousin Hrothgar.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Legacy settles with Zambojil.
  • Virtue Is Weakness: In Legacy, he indoctrinates a young Zardoz with this principle in an attempt to distance him from his real father, and likely as part of the Boazanian nobility's bigotry against the slaves and anyone else who isn't them.

    Prince Zardoz

Zardoz
Click here to see him as a child
Click here to see his disguise as Manuel Nobaz
Played by: Martin del Rosario, Khaine dela Cruz (young)
The primary antagonist that the Voltes V team faces, Prince Zardoz was sent by his uncle Emperor Zambojil to conquer the Earth.

  • Adaptational Dye-Job: Heinel was a blonde bishounen in the original anime. His Legacy counterpart has chestnut-brown hair.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Zardoz's electric powers are original to Legacy.
  • Adaptational Wimp:
    • In the original anime, Heinel attended the Boazanian Institute of Science and Technology and became a great warrior. Here, he is personally raised and tutored under Zambojil's supervision and to show us Zardoz's strength, the show depict him besting a number of other Boazanian soldiers in combat.
    • During Steve and Zardoz's duel, Zardoz is bested and is stabbed by his own dagger. In the original anime, Kenichi and Heinel's duel ended with a draw, and they both fell into the ocean afterwards.
  • Age Lift: Heinel was stated to be 18 in the Roman Robo Anime Climax Selection. Martin del Rosario, however, is in his 30s.
  • Bad Boss: This incarnation of the Prince has more in common with Zambajil than Heinel from the original anime, being endlessly belittling to Zandra and Draco and needlessly causing the deaths of his own servants when he's mad.
  • Bastard Boyfriend: He's shown sleeping with Zandra, but he also screams at her for being useless against the Earhern forces, repeatedly yells at her when she has a point and takes out his frustrations about losing against Voltes on her and Draco.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Saves Zandra from Oslak's rape attempt by blasting at him, before screaming at him to never touch her again unless he wants Zardoz to deal with him personally.
  • Big Damn Kiss: With Zandra, after her Allegiance Affirmation.
  • Broken Pedestal: Zardoz looks up to his uncle, Zambojil, who raised him. He wants to make the Emperor proud of him by following his example. Unfortunately, Zambojil doesn't reciprocate and purposely sends his nephew on a mission to conquer Terra Erthu where his mole Zuhl will sabotage his attempts to win and Zardoz would be constantly humiliated. When Zandra informs him of the truth, he is shaken and upset as he draws his sword at her even when she is willing to risk her life of standing by her word that it is true. Although while he stands down after seeing Zandra is telling the truth, he assumes that's Baron Zander behind the sabotage plot instead of Zambojil. He finally acknowledges the fact after Oslak and Zander and later Zambojil tells him the truth with mocking glee.
  • Carpet of Virility: The sex scene shows that his chest is very, very hairy.
  • Char Clone: Because the original Heinel/Zardoz predated the trope namer, this version of Zardoz qualifies as such. On top of being one of the Voltes Team's fearsome adversaries, the fact that he is also Hrothgar and Rozalia's first-born son, this also means that he's the older half-brother of the Armstrong siblings. He even disguises himself as "Manuel Nabuz" via the Polseras device to infiltrate Camp Big Falcon and gain the trust of Steve, Big Bert and Little Jon. Not only that, Zardoz used a variation of The Char Kick when piloting Godor against Voltes V.
  • Conquering Alien Prince: Not a very competent one. His uncle repeatedly admonishes him for being a failure, and calls him an "embarassment" for not being able to conquer Earth.
  • The Dog Bites Back: Zardoz kills his Evil Uncle Zambojil by throwing Rozalia's dagger to his chest when the emperor attempts to kill everyone with a bomb while mocking his nephew one last time after the truth of his heritage is revealed.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Zardoz may be a Manchild who has an Aladeen-style approach when it comes to murdering people, but he is absolutely intolerant of rapists and draws his sword at Oslak's neck for trying to molest Zandra after intervening in time.
  • Evil Laugh: Does so in episode 57 when Zuhl leads the Voltes team into his trap. It's not the same as his anime counterpart's Ojou Laugh, however.
  • Expy: Of Kloppen from Future Robot Daltanious as they're both brown haired Alien Princes who were raised by horrible father figures (Zambojil and Dolmen) and being tricked into fighting their own biological families respectively. Not to mention, both of them share the Bad Boss attitude at their own generals. And they both die by sacrificing themselves to save the heroes' lives: Zardoz protected Steve from the bomb of Zambojil and Kloppen gave his organs to Harlin who was critically wounded in need of an organ transplant.
  • Implied Death Threat: He subtly reminds Zuhl after Zandra informed him about his status as The Mole for Zambojil about the fate of traitors who turn their back on him. He carries it out after Zuhl betrayed and attempted to assassinate him under the emperor's orders, executed Zuhl with a dagger and his sword.
  • Just Toying with Them: During episode 16, he notices Mary Ann outside the Camp Big Falcon base's barrier and decides to have his forces play around with her as she tries to make it to the base.
  • Kick the Dog: After returning from his successful personal spying mission, he mocks on the weakness of humans and their attachments, which he would use that against them, before spitefully stomping on the toy battleship Little Jon gifted him as a souvenir.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: After the latter discovers it after capturing Ned Armstrong, Zambojil orders Zuhl to keep the fact that he and Hrothgar are one and the same a secret from him.
  • Meaningful Name: "Zardoz" means strong in the Boazanian language given by his mother Rozalia moments before her Death By Child Birth.
  • Neck Snap: Delivers one to a Camp Big Falcon soldier on his way back from his spy mission while his soldiers extracting him shoot down the other.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Averted. Thanks to research and blood samples collected from Earthlings and technology used to build Beast Fighters, Zardoz's disguise device manages to fool the thermal scans that outed Judalah before because the Polseras device actually transforms Zardoz rather than just project a hologram over him. He even checks his lack of horns upon first transforming.
  • Significant Anagram: The surname of Nabuz stands for Bo(a)zan when he infiltrates Camp Big Falcon as "Manuel Nabuz".
  • Sins of Our Fathers: He suffers this for being the son of the disgraced Hrothgar by Zambojil and his cronies in court. He seeks to be free of this stigma by conquering Terra Erthu.
  • Shock and Awe: He is able to fire lightning from his finger-sized device at Draco and Zuhl as punishment after the defeat of Vaizanger by Voltes V. And when Draco starts thrashing his guards about for Gardo's failure, he uses this again. On the other hand it is Played for Laughs when he threatens to use it again on Zuhl when three of his generals share a laugh after he is upset that Bombos was purposely made weak to scout out Voltes V's weakness which confuses and annoys him to demand an explanation. Although he did it again by zapping a nearby hornless Boazanian servant he called for just to vent after Namazuka's defeat by Voltes V.
  • Stupid Evil:
    • Zardoz knew Jon was a Gadgeteer Genius from pretending to be "Manuel", but when Steve begs him to let Jon go, he agrees. Unsurprisingly, Jon rigs the teleporter device to rescue the Voltes Team.
    • When Zardoz has the Voltes Team in his grasp, instead of killing them (thus rendering Voltes V without its pilots), he chooses to present them to his uncle as gifts, and then, for no reason, decides to spar with them. Both of these examples are how his trait of Wouldn't Hurt a Child ends up greatly working against him.
  • This Is Something He's Got to Do Himself: After the defeat of Namazuka, he decides a new plan by posing as a shipwrecked human named "Manuel Nobaz" to be rescued and taken to Camp Big Falcon where he would find out the identities of the Voltes V pilots and discover any weaknesses within the base.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Possesses an ornate dagger that came from his late mother, given to him by General Watson who passed it on to him as a last request from Rozalia. And he intends to use this dagger to take Hrothgar's life should they ever cross paths again.
  • Villainous Breakdown: He does this every time the plan to destroy Voltes V fails, by punishing his generals or killing the hornless Boazanian servants to vent.
  • Warrior Prince: He is this in the Boazan Star Empire as he trained in the art of swordsmanship and nobility, and he is eager to prove himself by conquering Earth where his father fled there and was harbored by the humans. He even demonstrates his combat skills by easily trouncing Boazanian soldiers in a spar. That also includes his easily handling the tag team attack from Steve Armstrong and Mark Gordon during a two-on-one fight.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Seeks his uncle's approval, who dismissively compares him to his disgrace of a father in light of Zardoz's failures on Terra Erthu.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Discussed and averted in episode 57, where Steve begs him to let Little John go, and keep the other members of the team after they're trapped in the ship. Zardoz agrees, and when Draco questions it, he asks him if he really is scared of a little kid. This same trope is also averted in an even earlier episode when he orders Negg to let the Volt Frigate go after it constricts the young boy's Volt Machine and comes very close to breaking and destroying it. This is in contrast to his anime counterpart, who had no qualms about killing children.

    Zandra
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/liezellopez.png
Zandra
Played by: Liezel Lopez

One of Prince Zardoz's direct underlings and lover, she cultivates the life-forms that the scientists use to make Beast Fighters, occasionally taking a command position.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Oslak, The Friend Nobody Likes of the Skull Ship, has a crush on Zandra, but she loves Zardoz. The fact that Oslak tried to kill him before is one of the many, many reasons Zandra despises him.
  • Adaptational Badass: Downplayed. She has more superpowers than her anime counterpart.
  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: Zandra lacks Katherine's knee-length hair and braided ponytail.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Zandra is far more careless here, choosing to toy with Judalah for her own entertainment, while her anime counterpart preferred to neutralize threats as soon as they occured. Unsurprinsingly, this led to Judalah escaping.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Katherine didn't have Deflector Shields.
  • Bitch Slap: When Arisa openly praises the Voltes team, Zandra delivers one to her. Then, Zardoz orders the twins to be put to death.
  • Betty and Veronica: Unlike Zaki, who's shameless and wild about her crush on Zardoz, Zandra is more innocent and simple about it.
  • Bodyguard Crush: Like Katherine, Zandra is overprotective of her Prince and will go through any length to defend him.
  • Cassandra Truth:
    • She overhears Zuhl's contact with Zambojil as his mole and informs Zardoz about it, even willing to stake her life on the claim that Zambojil wants Zardoz to fail, as much as the latter wants to think it's a lie. Even when Zardoz concedes after seeing she is telling the truth, he assumes it's Baron Zander than his uncle behind Zuhl being his spy.
    • She tries to warn Zardoz that Oslak is the second mole sent by Zambojil to continue where the deceased Zuhl left off after figuring out Oslak's real reason to come to Terra Erthu. But the prince shuts her down, still refusing to believe his uncle would do that and threatens her and Draco to never bring it up again.
  • The Comically Serious: Between Zardoz's aides, Zandra tends to side eye the others when they're doing something stupid or reckless.
  • Custom Uniform of Sexy: She wears a customized dress which has a cleavage window and it allows movement of her pants compared to her anime counterpart Katherine Rii who wears a white dress with a huge skirt and a veil.
    • Although in "Armstrong Brothers", she did wear the latter outfit when facing punishment from Zardoz who cuts her veil after the defeat of Vaizanger.
  • Dark Action Girl: She is this as she is a skilled combatant in her own right as demonstrated when she easily has the upper hand against Jamie Robinson in close range during their fight.
  • Deflector Shields: Has a personal one that she first uses to protect Zardoz from a turncoat's stolen blaster. When Xander has the Boazanian base on Earth blown up, she uses them again to protect him.
  • Evil Is Petty: Displays condescension at the sight of Mary Ann outside the barrier, and decides to have the Boazanian forces target her, also deducing that she might be important in the human resistance.
  • Fluffy Fashion Feathers: It pops up way later in the show than her anime counterpart's, but Zandra has one full of blue and white feathers.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: After killing Zaki, she looks directly at the camera and reminds you, the audience, that this is the fate that awaits those who betray her Prince.
  • Funny Background Event: She's seen smiling as Zardoz draws his sword at Oslak's neck, which isn't a surprise since Oslak attempted to rape her.
  • Implied Death Threat: She does this to Zuhl after he explains about the Polseras device that transforms Zardoz from Boazanian to human in his personal infiltration of Camp Big Falcon while drawing out her sword, clearly concerned of the prince's safety and aware of her fellow general's status as The Mole for Zambojil to sabotage him.
  • Just Toying with Them: She prefers not to immediately kill Judalah who went turncoat and revels on the wounded traitor trying to get away from her. This bites her when Judy shoots the door to temporarily lock itself until she was able to use the teleporter to escape.
  • Stupid Evil: She could have killed Judalah on the spot, but decided it was more fun to play a cat-and-mouse game with her.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Dispatches no less than seven Boazanian soldiers to hunt down Judalah the turncoat spy.
  • True Blue Femininity: As homage to her anime counterpart, some of her clothes are baby blue (with pink tints).
  • Undying Loyalty: She is very loyal to Prince Zardoz and willing to do everything in helping him succeed his campaign of conquering Earth. She even puts her life on the line when Zardoz points his sword at her face after she informed him of Zambojil's sabotage plot through Zuhl and he didn't take it well.
  • Unlimited Wardrobe: She has a variety of different outfits she wears for the occasion in contrast with her anime counterpart Katherine Rii who only has her default outfit.note
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Even when Zardoz puts her down, she's still concerned for his sake, and never stops trying to defend him.
  • Yandere: While Katherine was a Clingy Jealous Girl, Zandra is a Violently Protective Yandere and kills Zaki after it's found out she was plotting against her Prince.

    Draco
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/carlosgonzalez.png
Draco

Played by: Carlo Gonzales

The three-horned military strategist and commander of Zardoz's forces on Earth.

  • 24-Hour Armor: He is in his armor most of the time and never change outfits.
  • Adaptational Curves: He is more able-bodied and muscular compared to his anime counterpart Jangal Rui who has a beer belly-looking but dangerous appearance.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: As his anime counterpart Jangal Rui was not the most intelligent of Boazanian commandersnote , this one is considered as a military strategist brilliant enough to be part of Zardoz's campaign to conquer Terra Erthu and actively take part of developing Beast Fighters with Zandra and Zuhl, most notably Gardo he created based from the samurai after studying the culture of Japan on Earth.
  • Always Someone Better: Subjects this to Big Bert during their fight as he easily overpowers the large martial artist of the Voltes Team.
  • Bait the Dog: When Zuhl pleads to him for help, he seemingly helps his fellow general up to console him and walk him out of the throne room... Only to push Zuhl down back on the spot to face Zardoz's punishment.
  • Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon: Whips out a collapsible axe from his belt when the guards try to take him away for Gardo's failure. Although he never gets to use it in action due to being interrupted by Zardoz's zapping him and later ordering him to hold his attempted execution on Zuhl when suffering punishment for taking the Skull Ship without permission and working behind their backs. He finally gets to use it only for Oslak's Maxingal Alloy armor to easily withstand his axe strike.
  • Cool Helmet: He wears this that fit through his three horns.
  • Evil Laugh: He tends to do this whenever things go according to his strategy.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: He has a scar on his left eye that lost its vision as shown through the damaged part of his helmet.
  • Implied Death Threat: He joins in with Zandra to remind Zuhl what happens if Zardoz ends up compromised in his personal infiltration into Camp Big Falcon after Zuhl explains about the Polseras device he created by patting him in the shoulder with a strong grip.
  • Not So Above It All:
    • Despite being serious and professional among Zardoz's generals, he bickers with Zuhl most of the time, especially over who gets to be the prince's right hand with Zandra even joining in.
    • He also makes playful remarks regarding Zandra's affections for Zardoz even when she tries to brush it off as Undying Loyalty.
  • Old Soldier: He is this as he had fought several wars and got a scar on his left eye prior to being assigned as one of Zardoz's generals for the prince's conquest of Terra Erthu.
  • The Strategist: He is this as part of the Boazanian forces under Prince Zardoz and seeks new ways to defeat Voltes V.
  • This Cannot Be!: He is surprised that not only Steve Armstrong withstood the bullets he shot at him with his own pistol, his vial containing the microbes meant to afflict humans has no effect on Steve after exposing him to it, realizing that the latter must be a hornless Boazanian.
  • Those Two Guys: Zandra and Draco are usually seen together, and she's the only one Draco has never expressed disgust towards like he did towards Oslak and Zuhl.
  • Strong and Skilled: He is a powerful Boazanian warrior with seasoned combat skills during his long time military career as Big Bert found out the hard way.
  • War Hero: He is this in the Boazan Star Empire as he is well-respected for his military brilliance and capabilities in the Imperial military, shown when the nobles and guards salute him in his presence.

    Zuhl
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epyquizon.png
Zuhl

Played by: Epy Quizon
A one-horned, hunchback underling of Zardoz who is in charge of scientific development. He is direct designer for most of the Beast Fighters.

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: In Legacy, Zuhl is portrayed as a younger and somewhat pleasant looking person compared to his anime counterpart who is a creepy ugly old man with blue skin and large chin.
  • Adaptational Badass: This Zuhl is capable of combat when he catches Judalah by surprise and displays his skill of using the blade in his last ditched attempt to kill Zardoz even though the prince quickly overpowered him in the end.
  • Adaptational Comic Relief: Zuhl, in the original anime, was The Comically Serious to Heinel, Katherine and Jangal's Large Hams. For example, he once had to explain to the three that yes, humans are capable of love, only to be met by them laughing as if it was the funniest joke they've ever heard. In Legacy, he's a Butt-Monkey who's constantly on the receiving end of slapstick comedy. Though, once it's found out he's a traitor, Heinel has him made into a Cosmic Plaything before killing him off. Here, he also goes through a Humiliation Conga before dying.
  • Biomanipulation: Is an expert of this as he created the Polseras device that transforms Zardoz from a Boazanian into a human under the alias of "Manuel Nabuz" as part of the prince's personal mission to infiltrate Camp Big Falcon.
  • Butt-Monkey: He tends to be on the receiving end from Zardoz and his fellow generals Zandra and Draco such as getting zapped, scolded and received occasional Implied Death Threat from time to time.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: He dies by Zardoz's hand by a dagger the prince redirected to stab him in the chest, followed by his personal sword to finish him off compared to his anime counterpart who have been unceremoniously gunned down.
  • Evil Gloating: He tends to do this whenever a new Beast Fighter is seemingly about to defeat Voltes V. But this backfires every time.
  • Groin Attack: Suffers one from Judy before being used as a Human Shield.
  • Human Shield:
    • Gets used as one by Judy and panics over possibly getting shot by every other Boazanian in the room just to get to his captor. Zandra shoots anyway, though only to the side of him, which does prompt Judy to ditch him, pick up her dropped blaster, and run.
    • On the other hand, he does this to the hornless Boazanian servants to protect him from a furious Zardoz who tries to kill him with his sword and zapping device which killed them in his place. He then hides behind Zandra which stops Zardoz from swinging the blade at her.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: He does this with a bottle of blue beverage after a very upset Zardoz attempts to kill him with his sword and finger sized zapping device in the aftermath of his plan of destroying Voltes V failed again and the prince vented his rage at Zuhl. He offers Zandra if she wants one but she refuses.
  • Mad Scientist: He is this as he is the head of Boazan Star Empire's science division and the one who designed the Beast Fighters. He is also able to create the anti-ultra electromagnetic energy device to disrupt the Voltes V's combination and later the Polseras device for Zardoz's personal infiltration mission.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Downplayed as while he was under orders of Zambojil to spy and sabotage Zardoz, he was willing to pull his weight when the situation calls for it such as developing a Beast Fighter capable of interrupting the Volt-In sequence and the Polseras device. But after suffering constant humiliation, attempted killing and electric torture from Zardoz, It's Personal for him to want revenge on the prince.
  • The Mole: He is under orders by Zambojil to report to him on Zardoz's activities, and to make sure he fails the invasion, and to lose all of his battles with Voltes V. Zandra overhears this and reports it to Zardoz.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Fixing Zoldier from being destroyed by Voltes V results him into being detected by Prince Zardoz after stealing their Skull ship. This doesn't go well as it results him to get banished by Zardoz due to his traitorous actions due to being The Mole working for Zambojil.
  • Oh, Crap!: His face does this when Zardoz gives him an Implied Death Threat, realizing that the prince knows of his status as The Mole for Zambojil and reminds him what happens to traitors.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: He does this as part of his role as The Mole for Emperor Zambojil in Zardoz's forces on Earth. Unfortunately, Zandra saw his secret contact with the emperor and informed Zardoz about it. Which in turn the prince knows of his true status but keeps him around (after giving him an Implied Death Threat) to continue developing every new Beast Fighter with Zandra and Draco supervising.
  • Professional Butt-Kisser:
    • In light of discovering the Boazanian spy's identity, and her turncoat status, Zuhl immediately tries to suck up to Zardoz about his loyalty to him, though the prince has little patience for it. Although to his credit, he manages to stop Judalah from continuing shooting and disarm her of the stolen blaster before that.
    • On the other hand, after realizing that Zardoz knows of his The Mole role for Zambojil, he does everything to please the prince such as creating the anti-ultra electromagnetic energy device for Namazuka after having the weaker Bombos send results of the Enemy Scan on Voltes V's combining sequence, and later create the Polseras device which served Zardoz's purpose of infiltrating Camp Big Falcon without being outed by bioscans.
    • He also sucks up to Emperor Zambojil whenever he contacts him in secret to report about Zardoz's activities and relay him important information such as his capture of Hrothgar and the discovery of the Armstrong brothers being half-Boazanian sons of Hrothgar, which the emperor orders him to keep that a secret from the prince who is their older half brother.
  • Shipper on Deck: Surprisingly, he is this toward Zandra and her feelings for Zardoz as he supports her and it's one of the few things they get along with even after Zandra found out about his role as Zambojil's mole. Sadly, this doesn't last when Zuhl attempts to plea with Zandra for help and she rebukes him to face judgment by Prince Zardoz.
  • Taking You with Me: He attempts this when Zardoz gave him the dagger to commit Seppuku and regain his lost honor, knowing that even if he somehow succeeded, Zandra and Draco would kill him in retaliation. Unfortunately for him, he gets overpowered by Zardoz and dies with two stabs to his chest.
  • Un-person: Subjected to this by Zardoz who kills him personally for betraying him and trying to kill him once more, and declares that all records of Zuhl will be erased and no one will speak of his name ever again as if he doesn't exist.
  • Where's the Kaboom?: Gets this reaction when the bomb Impostor Ned set up isn't destroying Voltes V. Turns out the Big Falcon staff had found it sometime after that Ned's demise and promptly removed it.

    Vero
Zardoz's right-hand in terms of Mooks.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vero.png
Vero
  • Adorkable: His endearing devotion towards Zardoz comes off as this, especially as Zardoz also holds him in high regard, calling out for him once the bomb Oslak planted blows the Boazanian base to falling debris.
  • Nice Guy: Vero treats everyone around him with respect.
  • Token Good Teammate: Out of all of the Boazanians, Vero is a chipper fellow who's always ready to help Zardoz.

    Judalah / Judy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/judalah_voltes_v_legacy.png
Played by: Crystal Paras

A hornless Boazanian who was forced to be a spy for Prince Zardoz in exchange for her captive sister's life.

  • Assassination Attempt: After turning against Prince Zardoz, she attempts this by sneaking into the base and using the stolen Boazanian soldier's blaster to shoot at the prince inside the command center. Unfortunately, she is thwarted by Zandra's Deflector Shields and Zuhl quickly disarming her from behind.
  • Canon Foreigner: Like Eva and Apable, she has no anime counterpart other than being the...
  • Expy: And Composite Character as well.
    • Of Mr. Sakame from the original anime. Mr. Sakame was a human slave whose daughter, Rumi, was held hostage by Heinel. He promised to free her from captivity under the condition that Sakame infiltrates Big Falcon, sabotages Voltes V, and weakens the Voltes Team's resolve by saying that the Go brothers' father was a slave driver. Though Sakame held up his end of the bargain, Heinel didn't, and then set off a bomb that killed him. Oh, and said daughter was Dead All Along. However, unlike Mr. Sakame, Judy was unable to carry out her mission after falling in love with Big Bert and refused to inform Zardoz of the identities of the Voltes Team she had learned from her boyfriend and his brother Steve, culminating into betraying the prince and attempting to assassinate him. And when that failed, she went into hiding with Steve, who helped her escape from pursuing Boazanian soldiers, telling Big Bert that the Boazanians took her away for treason and the fate of her captive sister for her turncoat act wouldn't end well just like Rumi... until said sister was finally freed and reunited with her during the formal establishment of the Camp Big Falcon and Boazanian rebel alliance.
    • Of Marlene Rii from the concept of Kenichi/Steve having a love interest which is used by Legacy with Daijirou/Big Bert being the one with a love interest. note
  • Failed a Spot Check: She may be able to evade Boazanian soldiers patrolling the hallways of the base and reach the command center where Prince Zardoz is, but she fails to notice Zuhl behind her back until he showed himself to catch her by surprise.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After some time hiding, she decides to join Hrothgar and his rebel army, thus solidifying her switch to the side of good.
  • I Have Your Wife: Or rather, Sister, as Prince Zardoz holds her captive and states that Judalah will have her sister back in exchange for being his spy on Terra Erthu. However, after she went turncoat and gone into hiding, her sister remained imprisoned until she was set free by the Voltes team.
  • Interspecies Romance: She falls in love with Big Bert who is a half-Boazanian son of Hrothgar/Ned Armstrong.
  • Teleportation: She has a wrist device that allows her to be teleported to the Boazanian base where she delivers her report to Prince Zardoz of her findings on Earth. She uses this to get away from Zandra when she failed to assassinate the prince after turning against him.
  • Undead Tax Exemption: Upon infiltrating on Earth and blending in among humans, she was able to somehow get a job and a house of her own under the name of "Judy". However, she has no legal records of her existence along with her bioscans to be not human which allows Dr. Smith and Sgt. Major Edwards to find out she is a spy in their investigation.

    Rozalia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maxcollins.png
Rozalia

Played by: Max Collins

The first wife of Hrothgar and the mother of Zardoz.

  • Adaptational Dyejob: Lozaria, her anime counterpart, had reddish-brown hair.
  • Adaptational Badass: When Hrothgar is exposed for being hornless in the coronation, Rozalia attempts to stab Zambojil. In the original anime, Lozaria was shocked and covered her eyes because she couldn't bear to see her husband, Gohl, being hurt. She also didn't know how to wield daggers and treasured the one Gohl gave her as an ornament.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: A minor one. In Legacy, she names her son "Zardoz" as it is the word for "strong" in the Boazanian language, something her mother-in-law Fadsa remarks on. In the original anime, Lozaria chose the name "Heinel" as it was a pun on "your highness", befitting to his status as a Prince.
  • Death by Childbirth: She dies moments after her son is born, much to the grief of Fadsa. In contrast, her anime counterpart died off-screen.

    Contessa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/contessa_6.png
Contessa

Played by: Chanda Romero

The mother of Zambojil and concubine of the previous Emperor.

  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: She dies to Godor's Three-Point Landing that stomped her and her fellow Boazanian nobles in its path.
  • Lady Macbeth: In episode 2, while Zambojil is initally stone-faced upon seeing Hrothgar, Contessa insists that he somehow knock him out of the game.

    Baron Zander
Played by: Ryan Eigenmann
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baronzander.png
Baron Zander

The right hand man of Emperor Zambojil.

  • Adaptational Curves: Inverted. Zander is noticably plumper to his skinny anime counterpart.
  • Beta Bitch: To Zambojil.
  • Dirty Coward: He left Oslak to die when the Posi-Negatron draws near, preferring to save his own skin.
  • Fat Bastard: Zander is on the heavy side and enjoys lording his status as a noble affiliated with Zambojil over the hornless people of Boazan. He's also his right hand.
  • Jerkass: In episode two, he's seen maltreating a Boazanian slave after falsely accusing him of being complicit in theft; for this he is forced to apologize by Hrothgar. When Hrothgar was exposed as hornless mid-coronation, he takes pleasure to mock him of his fallen royal status while personally escorting him to the prison camps. He is also unpleasant to Prince Zardoz, the son of disgraced Hrothgar, and anyone else below Zambojil's court.
  • Mr. Exposition: He is this when explaining to Prince Zardoz about the three generals Draco, Zuhl and Zandra of their respective expertise and capabilities which will serve him in his conquest of Terra Erthu.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Instead of dying alongside Oslak, he escapes via teleporter, while Oslak is killed by the Posi-Negatron.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the Closing Credits, his name is "Baron Xander".
  • Those Two Guys: He shares this dynamic with General Oslak as they work together in sabotaging Zardoz and capturing Hrothgar to be taken back to Boazan. Sadly this doesn't last when Zander chooses to ditch Oslak than take him along to escape Posi-Negatron.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Unlike his anime counterpart who is killed alongside Oslak, he manages to escape and leaves Oslak to perish. Where he goes after this is unknown.
    • Word of God reveals that he has plans for Baron Zander.

    General Oslak
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nicoantonio.png
General Oslak

Maxingal Armour version
Played by: Nico Antonio

The general and a crony of Emperor Zambojil. After Zuhl's death, he replaces him as the new designer of the Armored Beast Fighters.

  • 24-Hour Armor: Downplayed as he wears his noble atttire with a garment on his head whenever he interacts with Zambojil in court. But when he is deployed to Terra Erthu as Zuhl's replacement, he wears his Maxingal Alloy armor all the time.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Zandra despises him because she views him as competition for Zardoz's attention. the fact that he tried to kill Zardoz before, and the fact that Oslak is generally a coldhearted little Jerkass towards her and Draco. Oslak, on the other hand, finds her very beautiful and desires her sexually.
  • Attempted Rape: When Zandra is under his control, he touches her arm, plays with her hair and leans in to kiss her, until Zardoz breaks in the room, blasts at him, and pulls off the ring.
  • Big Entrance: Does this by dropping several meteors towards Camp Big Falcon upon his ship's arrival at Terra Erthu.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Inverted. He mostly wears blue but is a colonialist ally as well as an attempted rapist.
  • Collapsible Helmet: Only his helmet's visor can be removed to show his face as ordered by Zardoz after he was impressed of his Maxingal Alloy armor in action.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He is this as he reveals to Zardoz that the fragments of the meteors he dropped upon Camp Big Falcon disrupt their radar system, rendering them blind to the newest Beast Fighter Okozenia's attack.
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: Has this like his anime counterpart Belgan, who has purple rings under his eyes.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: He gets brutally vaporized to oblivion by the Posi-Negatron, his Maxingal Alloy armor unable to protect him.
  • Didn't See That Coming: He was surprised that Voltes Team already is out to intercept Okozenia, not realizing that they were sent to clear away the meteor fragments surrounding Camp Big Falcon right before Okozenia shows up.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Of sort as Oslak has a pair of horns like any Boazanian noble while his anime counterpart Belgan has a case of Ambiguous Situation of whether he was born hornless similarly like Gohl but rose up to become a science officer and Professional Butt-Kisser to Emperor Zambajil or the gold V-sigil on the helmet of his 24-Hour Armor are really his horns.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: He is shocked that Baron Zander left him to die when the Posi-Negatron draws near to their ship before he dies unceremoniously.
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: His style of dressing, outside of his armor, heavily resembles Middle Eastern attire, particularly the garment on his head.
  • Jerkass: He is a very nasty man when working with Draco and Zandra, and never fails to remind them that he has Emperor Zambojil's favor over the prince.
  • Made of Indestructium: He creates the Maxingal Alloy, a powerful metal which can tank any attack unscathed, and it would be used for the Armored Beast Fighters.
  • The Mole: He is sent as the second spy of Zambojil to sabotage Zardoz, which Zandra tries to warn the prince but was ignored.
  • No-Sell: His personal Maxingal Alloy armor easily withstands a barrage of blaster fire from Boazanian soldiers and an axe strike from Draco, surprising the latter.
  • Replacement Goldfish: He is this to Zandra and Draco who hated him for his insufferable attitude to the point they already missed Zuhl and regrets letting him get executed by Zardoz.
  • The Starscream: He plots to have Zardoz replaced and become the new leader of the Boazanian invasion force with the full backing of Emperor Zambojil.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Oslak does not believe Voltes V to be a threat despite warning from Zardoz and his fellow generals, and is confident that Okozenia being upgraded with Maxingal Alloy will destroy the Super Robot. He regrets this after witnessing Voltes V dispatches Okozenia with the help of the Mechanical Eagle weakening its Maxingal Alloy armor.

    General Watson

Played by: Mike Lloren

The general and ally of Hrothgar.

  • Adaptational Attractiveness: He is younger looking and more handsome compared to his anime counterpart General Dange who is a Cool Old Guy.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Downplayed. He leads a battalion of Imperial soldiers to hunt down and suppress the hornless Boazanian rebellion as part of his duty until he recognized the rebel leader to be Hrothgar and let him escape, which he falsely reports to Emperor Zambojil of his failure and receive a punishment by electric zap and derision in turn. This is in complete contrast with his anime counterpart General Dange who broke Gohl out from prison and leads the hornless Boazanian resistance from the start.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He is this as the pilot of the Mechanical Eagle when he ambushed Okozenia and weakened its Maxingal Alloy armor, enough for Voltes V to strike it down with the Laser Sword.
  • Defector from Decadence: He turns against Zambojil by breaking off his horns and joins Hrothgar's rebellion against the emperor's tyranny. Although the rebels were a bit reluctant to accept him despite Hrothgar's reassurance because he led the attack on their base camp previously that took the lives of their comrades.
  • Mr. Exposition: He is this as he tells the Voltes Team, Dr. Hook and General Robinson about Hrothgar's past as a former Boazanian royal before succumbing to his wounds.

    Marquise Zaki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/voltesvlegacy_zaki2.png
Zaki

Played by: Vaness del Moral
The chief researcher and crony of Emperor Zambojil.

  • Adaptational Job Change: In the original anime, Zaki was Zambojil's chief inspector. Due to his habit of sending exaggerated reports to the Emperor that lead to the ordered executions of many, he was despised by Heinel's aides, particularly Jangal. In Legacy, this was changed to her being the chief researcher for Emperor Zambojil.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Marquis Zaki threw a glass all over Heinel's face after revealing to him that his uncle views him as a joke and repeating the insults he said. Marquise Zaki tries to win him over by flirting with him, only to get yelled at.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Zaki in the original anime hated Prince Heinel and openly insulted him. Here, Marquise Zaki gets rather... touchy with her Prince, sending Zandra into Clingy Jealous Girl mode. Zardoz, however, is having none of it and angrily admonishes her afterwards over her plan.
  • Ambiguous Situation: For whatever reason, she's involved with Planet Campbell and considers residing there should be exiled from Boazan.
  • Betty and Veronica: Zaki is the spicy and flirty Veronica, compared to Zandra who's softer and more genuine to Zardoz.
  • Dies Differently In The Adaptation: Her anime counterpart died when Heinel's Beast Knight bit the ship he was observing the battle from. Since the Beast Knight had absorbed a large amount of energy from Voltes V, the overload caused the ship to explode. Nevertheless, Heinel told Zambajil that Marquis Zaki died a honourable death in his report. In Legacy, Marquise Zaki is shot by Zandra. Oddly enough, while these two circumstances are widely different, they both heavily involve Katherine/Zandra's involvement.note
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite being a Horned Boazanian, Zaki had somewhat maternal feelings for her warriors-for-hire, Takeo and Arisa, refusing to abandon them even when they defied Boazan. She was left broken when they were executed by Zardoz. She was similarly branded a traitor and then shot by Zandra.
  • Fallen Princess: A variant. After Takeo and Arisa aid the Voltes team and praise General Watson, Zardoz calls them traitors and sentences them to death. The twins Face Death with Dignity as they are fired upon by his Mooks. Zardoz then announces he is to take Marquise Zaki back to Boazan so that she can answer for their deviation.
  • Gender Flip: In the original anime, Zaki was male. For whatever reason, the production staff decided to make him a woman in this incarnation.
  • Interclass Friendship: Of sorts. She converses with Takeo and Arisa, both hornless Boazanians, on even keel despite failing to impress Prince Zardoz and his generals Zandra and Draco, and discuss with them of her plan of defeating Voltes V by kidnapping Little Jon and use him as a bait for his teammates to come look for him and fall into her trap.
  • Jerkass: She knows Zandra likes Zardoz and looks her in the eye while touching his clothes up close. Zardoz views this as an annoyance.
  • Mrs. Robinson: She is old enough to be Takeo and Arisa's mother, yet hits on Zardoz, who's about their age.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Threatens this to Little Jon who was kidnapped by Takeo and Arisa and she warns Voltes Team to lay down their weapons or else the boy will be hurt by her dagger.
    Marquise Zaki's aides

Played by: Unknown.
Two women that accompany the Marquise wherever she goes. They often do small tasks for her.
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zakisaides.png
  • Ambiguously Muslim: Based on how they dress, they may be Muslim. It's possible that they are not Hornless Boazanians, but human slaves imprisoned by them, that happen to observe Islam.
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: They wear orange hijabs.
  • No Name Given: Likely due to the fact that they're not important to the plot.
  • Those Two Guys: They're always seen together serving Zaki, such as lifting her veil when she's introduced to Zardoz's aides.
  • The Speechless: They never speak and only act.

    Takeo and Arisa
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/takeo_and_arisa.png
Takeo and Arisa

Played by: Pancho Magno (Takeo), Kylie Padilla (Arisa)
Two hornless Boazanian gladiatorial warriors who serve Marquise Zaki.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Girion was nigh-invulnerable in the anime, but here, Takeo and Arisa lose to five teenagers thanks to The Power of Friendship.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Takeo is endlessly protective of Arisa. When they're in a lockhold, he begs the Voltes team to kill him first so he won't see his sister die, and Zandra slapping Arisa drives him into a fury as he tries to protect her.
  • Butt-Monkey: Takeo becomes this in episode 76. While he's supposedly a great warrior, he gets bested by the Voltes team in a duel, with Little Jon kicking him in the nads and twisting his ear.
  • Co-Dragons: To the aforementioned Zaki.
  • Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: Arisa. Though not to the extent of Belgan, she has dark rings under her eyes.
  • Decomposite Character: Of Girion, the honorable warrior from episode 33 of the original anime, who Heinel had executed for criticizing him and praising Dange.
  • Expy: Of Girion.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Both Takeo and Arisa call out Zardoz's cruelty, as well that of the Boazanian noble's, before Draco has the Mooks open fire on them.
  • Groin Attack: Jon delivers one to Takeo.
  • Heel–Face Turn: When the Voltes team refuse to kill them, they have a change of heart about opposing them.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: After the Voltes team show them mercy, they decide to help them escape and Arisa tells them where to find the Portalis device. This earns them the ire of Zardoz. When Arisa calls him and the Horned Boazanians cruel, Zardoz puts them to death.
  • Informed Ability: In-universe example when Zaki presents them as skilled warriors to him, offering to showcase this by having them spar with Draco and Vero. Even though they defeat them, Zardoz still isn't impressed.
  • Interclass Friendship: With Zaki despite themselves being hornless Boazanians as they openly sharing discussion with her about the plan to take down Voltes V.
  • Shout-Out: To Erika and Richter of Daimos. Takeo's clothing shows off his bare, chiseled arms and he also has a sash around his chest like Richter, and Arisa has a coil around her right arm like Erika, as well as styling her sash a similar way.note
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: The two show off their bare arms and they're capable warriors in their own right.
  • The Stoic: Arisa has the same perpetual frown on her face, until Zaki orders her to fight, after which she becomes feral.
  • Would Hurt a Child: They kidnap Jon from Camp Big Falcon, somewhat like how in the original anime Girion kidnapped Hiyoshi while he was in the Volt Frigate.

    Amira
The sister of Judalah.
  • Ambiguous Situation: What slight she committed that resulted in Judalah begging for forgiveness on her behalf is never shown.

Beast Fighters

    In General
  • Adapted Out: Only 16 of the Beast Fighters will appear in Legacy in contrast to the anime's 41.
    • The first one excluded from the series is Bonzarus of the third episode of the anime.
    • Bad Heil, Karakus, Dario and Gondam are also excluded from Legacy.
    • Kanigan, Gonguru, Kuragenyara, Garuman, and Jaguard are also excluded from Legacy.
    • Gokiiru and Tobiurago are also excluded from Legacy. Tobiurago's story arc (Big Bert defying the team to save Ned from prison) is instead replaced by the rebuilt Zoldier.
    • Octopus Guard, Sazarus, Zemingo, and Garus are also excluded from Legacy.
    • Daimon and Saimon are also excluded from Legacy as a rebuilt Desler takes their place as the one subjected to the Ultra Electromagnetic Ball.
    • Gakamikiri is also excluded from Legacy as Draco orders the Boazanian ships to find and shoot down the Mechanical Eagle, neutralizing the threat and fatally wounding its pilot, General Watson.
    • Girion is also excluded from Legacy with Takeo and Arisa taking his place as a case of Decomposite Character.
    • Daiand is also excluded from Legacy but his ring form was used by Oslak to mind-control Zandra, and later, Jamie Robinson.
    • Dorion is also excluded from Legacy as Draco uses its microbes made to affect humans to try kill Steve Armstrong by exposing the vial to his face only for it to reveal he has Boazanian heritage as Boazanians are immune to the microbes.
  • Adaptational Species Change:
    • Dokugaga resembles a moth in the anime, but here looks more like a beetle or winged termite.
    • Vaizanger is lion-like in the original, but looks more like a water buffalo in the adaptation and is even referred to as such.
    • Gardo is a humanoid alien in the anime. He is a robot in the adaptation instead.
    • Namazuka was a regular catfish in the original turned into a Beast Fighter, but here he is a robotic creation.
    • Okozenia was more carp-like in the anime, but here is more piranha-like.
  • Artificial Intelligence: All Beast Fighters are controlled by Boazanian A.I. as explained by Hrothgar/Ned Armstrong to Dr. Mary Ann, Dr. Smith, General Robinson and the world leaders in an Earth Defense Force meeting.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: All except Gamera (who is blown up by a jammed chest cannon) and Godor (who is impaled by the Laser Sword and collapses without exploding) are felled by Voltes V slashing them across the torso in a V-shape with the Laser Sword, upon which they explode violently.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: After replacing Zuhl, Oslak introduces the Maxingal Alloy, an armor impervious to any damage, creating the Armored Beast Fighters. Okozenia was able to give Voltes V serious trouble by withstanding the Laser Sword until the Mechanical Eagle showed up and exposed its weakness by using ultra electromagnetic energy to render the armor brittle, enough for Voltes Team to finish it off with the Laser Sword.
  • Monster of the Week: Averted. According to the cast during the episode 30 livestream chat between the episode itself, no Beast Fighter is there just to be fought and defeated. All of them are made with the express purpose of destroying Voltes V, and therefore the Boazanians are always building each successive one to be stronger and better than the last.
  • One-Man Army: They are this as each of them are capable of easily defeating an entire planet's military forces when deployed in the field.
  • Robeast: Are giant mechanical creatures created by Zuhl, Zandra and Draco to serve as weapons. This extends to Gardo, who was a giant humanoid alien in the anime.

    Dokugaga
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_230319_youtube.jpg

The first Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • An Arm and a Leg: Gets an arm torn off by Voltes V's electromagnetic top.
  • Hidden Depths: Is but a Warm-Up Boss to the Voltes V team that gets dispatched easily, yet flashbacks of the Boazanians' past conquests show Dokugaga as their main weapon, implying the Boazanians had used it as a far more effective fighter in subjugating other planets for a long time.
  • Insectoid Aliens: A Robeast example. Resembles a stag beetle with pincer claws and moth wings.
  • Kaiju: Big Bert addresses it as such.
  • Power Pincers: Has lobster-like claws in place of hands and can use them to devastating effect.
  • Waist-Deep Ocean: Wades through the sea in its inital attack on the Earth forces, destroying ships in its path.
  • Warm-Up Boss: The first Beast Fighter to battle the Voltes Team.
  • The Worf Effect: Is subjected to this by Voltes V who demonstrated its strength against the insectoid Beast Fighter as witnessed by Zardoz and his aides who realize that conquering Terra Erthu won't be easy as they thought after underestimating the robot they deemed not a threat to them at first.

    Vaizanger
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_230358_youtube.jpg
The second Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Bears Are Bad News: Mostly minotaur-like, but has a face and clawed hands much like a bear.
  • Chain Pain: Wields chain weapons as its primary means of combat.
  • Hero Killer: Is responsible for the death of the Armstrongs' mother Dr. Mary Anne Armstrong.
  • It Can Think: Displays quite a lot of personality for a robot, appearing to rub its face in apparent annoyance when Mary Anne collides her jet into its face or reacting with surprise when Voltes V tanks its punch with a No-Sell.
  • Our Minotaurs Are Different: A giant Robeast example. Has some ursine features as well.
  • Spikes of Villainy: Wears spiked armor and shoulder pads, and alsi bears spikes on its head that can be launched as missiles.
  • Stealthy Colossus: Is able to do this, which Voltes V was unable to locate it until the Beast Fighter catches them off guard with the chains wrapped around the arms, legs and spine.
  • Spell My Name With An S: Originally spelled "Baizanga" in the anime.

    Gardo
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_230554_youtube.jpg

The third Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Adaptation Species Change: In the original anime, Gardo is a giant foreign alien who earned Prince Heinel's favor and was granted horns. In Legacy, Gardo is a mechanical creation of Draco.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Gardo tries to block the Laser Sword but it was unsuccessful which results his weapon and arm wrecked at the same time.
  • Blade Lock: Gets into one of these in response to Voltes V's signature V-Slash after retrieving its disarmed sword earlier. The Laser Sword proves superior and shatters it before going through Gardo.
  • Eye Beams: Uses these to throw off Mark, Little Jon, and Jamie while barraging the Camp Big Falcon's shield.
  • Fearsome Foot: Does this when stomping on one of the Earth Defense Force tanks.
  • Menacing Stroll: Does this while slicing apart Earth Defense Force military in its way.
  • Samurai: Draco based off Gardo's appearance, weapon, and fighting style from a Japanese samurai to counter the Laser Sword of Voltes V.
  • Signature Move: Is able to emit some kind of psychic effect that negatively affects all the Voltes V pilots. And unlike the original, it's not purely psychological.
  • Wrecked Weapon: His sword is shattered by the Laser Sword during the V-Slash and its pieces explode independently of Gardo as the Beast Fighter gets carved.
  • You Can Talk?: The Voltes Team get this reaction when they hear Gardo speak. Of course, it's in Boazanian, so they can't understand his words.

    Negg
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_230924_youtube.jpg

The fourth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: Possesses the ability to fire green flames from its mouth at its targets.
  • The Great Serpent: Is this as it's an enormous mechanical snake Beast Fighter.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Is this as invoked by its intimidating appearance.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called "Neegu". This is probably done to avoid racist connotations with the pronunciation of the original name.

    Daiga
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_231158_youtube.jpg

The fifth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Didn't See That Coming: Does this to Camp Big Falcon after after they were alarmed of Negg's attack on the coastline of the mainland and Voltes Team is about to sortie out and back up Little Jon.
  • Eye Beams: Fires a pair of red lasers from the eyes to begin its assault on Camp Big Falcon.
  • Evil Grin: A default expression of its face as it besieges Camp Big Falcon.
  • Fearsome Foot: Does this when it attacked Camp Big Falcon, catching everyone in the base by surprise of another Beast Fighter appearance aside from Negg.
  • Shoulder Cannon: Has this that fires a barrage of missiles at Voltes V before withdrawing.
  • Stealthy Colossus: Manages to slip away from Voltes V and Camp Big Falcon after firing a salvo of missiles to kick up a dust smokescreen.

    Dainegu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_231011_youtube.jpg

The combined form of Daiga and Negg who is considered as the sixth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Bound and Gagged: Launches five giant staple-like projectiles from the torso to pin down Voltes V by the limbs and waist. Voltes V escapes this by having all power exchanged to one arm to break free, then the other (after first stunning Dainegu with a Chain Knuckle to the face) before proceeding with pulling out each of the rest.
  • Combining Mecha: A simpler form: Negg simply coils around Daiga, yet the two are considered as one at this point. It is later revealed to have a proper combination in form of Dainegu: Roller Form.
  • Logical Weakness: The Roller Form is fast and powerful but has little maneuverability. Voltes V uses its momentum against it by firing the Chain Knuckles, which Dainegu runs into headfirst at full speed.
  • Transformation Is a Free Action: After pinning down Voltes V, Daiga and Negg undergoes a combination sequence of becoming Dainegu: Roller Form in front of the Voltes Team witnessing it.
  • Wheel o' Feet: A literal example, as Negg's serpentine body loops around Daiga's legs to form a pair of massive spiked wheels. In this form, Dainegu is very fast and powerful like a steamroller.

    Bomboz
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_231330_youtube.jpg

The seventh Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Enemy Scan: Does this when observing the Volt Machines transform into Voltes V and sending the scans to Zuhl for study.
  • Faceplant: Suffers this when Voltes V uses Double Chain Knuckles to bring it down to the ground hard. Big Bert lampshades that in verbatim when commenting on that.
  • Insectoid Aliens: A Robeast example that resembles a dragonfly.
  • Lean and Mean: Has a lean but deadly looking appearance.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Unlike the original, who goes down to a mere Ultra Electromagnetic Top across its length, this one gets the same privilege of falling to the Laser Sword just like every other Beast Fighter before it.
  • Willfully Weak: Is less powerful than previous Beast Fighters, but intentionally so: as a means of being used to scout out Voltes V's weaknesses. Despite having been defeated by Voltes V under one swoop, it didn't help that Bombos has already gathered Voltes V's technology while still in its Volt-In sequence, hence its purpose for Boazanian research.

    Namazuka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230906_231504_youtube.jpg

The eighth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian Forces.

  • Adaptational Species Change: In the original anime, Namazuka was a regular catfish that was transformed into a Beast Fighter by Zandra. Here, it is a mechanical creation.
  • Beehive Barrier: Deploys one around himself against the Camp's missile batteries.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: It may look like a catfish mech, as Big Bert humorously comments on, but this Beast Fighter was created to prevent the Volt Machines from forming into Voltes V.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: In the anime, Namazuka gets unceremoniously crushed by Voltes V in close-range combat via a double foot stomp to the head. Here, it goes down by the Laser Sword of Voltes V like previous Beast Fighters.
  • Fiendish Fish: Its appearance is this and it looks menacing with crackling electricity around its body.
  • If It Swims, It Flies: Gracefully coasts through the sky as if it were water.
  • Psycho Electric Eel: Is this as a Robeast example.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called "Namazungo".
  • Transformation Is a Free Action: Its purpose is to defy this trope by disrupting the ultra electromagnetic energy of Voltes V, ruining the Volt-In sequence after the Boazanian generals studied its technology via Bombos' scanning of the super robot. It managed to disrupt the Volt-In sequence twice, allowing the Beast Fighter to knock Volt Machines down from the skies. Unfortunately for it, the device on its head was destroyed after Voltes Team took that out with the combined power of anti-ultra electromagnetic energy and Ultra Marcon they directed at it. As a result, it was unable to stop their now uninterrupted Volt-In sequence this time.

    Gamera
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_005330_youtube.jpg

The ninth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • Adaptational Late Appearance: In the original, it appeared alongside Namazuka to support it in battle. Here, it is fielded by itself.
  • Chest Blaster: Has a green energy blaster coming from its center. It proves to be to its detriment as Mark's and Big Bert's weapons make it backfire and explode on itself.
  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: Belches flames during his rampage upon one of the cities of Terra Erthu.
  • Menacing Stroll: Does this when entering the city to attack, which frightened many civilians.
  • Named After Someone Famous: It is named "Gamera" instead of "Gamenza". Yeah. That Gamera. This might have something to do with Daiei's Gamera — who Gamenza was a Shout-Out to — having its films end up unreleased or left obscure in the Philippines, so there's no need to write around trademarks with the name.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called "Gamenza".
  • Undignified Death: Suffers this when Mark Gordon and Big Bert aim their Volt Machines' weapons at the Chest Blaster mid-charge, exploding at its face and ending up destroyed unceremoniously. So far, it is the only Beast Fighter not to be finished off by the Laser Sword.

    Zairus
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_004457_youtube.jpg

The tenth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces.

  • More Dakka: Appears to be this, as it brandishes several heavy Boazanian weaponry when confronting Voltes V and later attacking Camp Big Falcon.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Does this to the Voltes Team after they broke off from the Training from Hell routine of Dr. Hook to use the "Spin Fly" technique.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: This Beast Fighter meets its end this way, as it is bisected vertically by a well-placed and well-timed swing of the Laser Sword.
  • No-Sell: It was able to tank through the Voltes Bazooka and Grand Fire when charging at the Super Robot.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called "Zaizarus".
  • Temper-Ceratops: Is a Robeast example. It even fights like an actual triceratops after the Voltes Team destroyed its jet fighter wings with the "Spin Fly" technique when it tried to ram through them.

    Zoldier
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_005425_gallery.jpg

The eleventh and twelfth Beast Fighters of the Boazanian forces.

  • Adaptational Nonsapience: Is able to speak and even converse and reason with Zuhl in the anime, but here acts like a mindless war machine and does not speak.
  • Cool Horse: A mechanical steed Zoldier rides on to battle.
  • Expy: While he did have a new combined form in the anime, his second appearance replaces Tobiurago, with Big Bert breaking off the team to search for Hrothgar in prison.
  • Healing Factor: Possesses this as Zoldier regenerates after being reduced to Half the Man He Used to Be by Voltes V. Didn't save it from the Laser Sword of Voltes V.
  • Killed Off for Real: He got destroyed for the second time (and this one is for real) by Voltes V's V-Slash after getting rebuilt by Zuhl.
  • Menacing Stroll: Does this when showing up in a city on Terra Erthu and begins a rampage.
  • Monster Knight: Is this as a Robeast example.
  • No-Sell: It was able to shrug off a barrage of Volt Machines' weapons.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: Fuses with his steed into one being, which Big Bert compared to a Tikbalang.
  • Super-Scream: His steed does this which affects the Voltes Team when Voltes V blocks the attack head on.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called Zorugeru.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Or Spear as Zoldier throws it towards Voltes V which it was blasted apart mid-air by the Voltes Bazooka. Fortunately, Zoldier can create a new one to replace it.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Subjected to this by Zuhl who recovered the remains and rebuilt the Beast Fighter to become stronger than its previous self and can combine with his steed.

    Okozenia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_010130_youtube.jpg

The thirteenth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces and the first Armored Beast Fighter.

  • Eye Beams: Fires a pair of green powerful lasers at Voltes V.
  • Fiendish Fish: It is shaped like an armored mechanical trout.
  • If It Swims, It Flies: Flies in the skies as if it was water.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: Its default facial expression is a frown with several sharp teeth.
  • No-Sell: Due to the Maxingal Alloy armor made by Oslak, it was able to withstand Voltes V's weapons such as Grand Fire and Ultra Electromagnetic Tops including the Laser Sword as it tanked it head on. But then its armor ends up weakened by the Mechanical Eagle's energy beam, allowing Voltes V to damage it and finish it off with the Laser Sword.
  • This Is a Drill: Possesses one as a horn which pierces through the right optic of Voltes V where Steve Armstrong's cockpit is located.

    Desler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_010518_youtube.jpg

The fourteenth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces and the second Armored Beast Fighter.

  • Archery: Possesses this as it draws the bow and arrow for long range combat.
  • Energy Absorption: After being rebuilt, it is given an energy absorbing shield made to counter the Ultra Electromagnetic Ball. It was successful at first which drained Voltes V of its power and vulnerable to Desler beating the Super Robot up. But when Voltes V with an Equipment Upgrade from Mechanical Eagle tries again, the shield was unable to absorb the Ultra Electromagnetic Ball and Desler got affected by it.
  • Expy: His Shield form after being rebuilt is one to the twin Beastfighters Daimon and Saimon, which came after him in the anime and was also the episode where the Mechanical Eagle transplants a power source to Voltes V.
  • Killed Off for Real: He got destroyed for the second time (and this one is for real) by Voltes V's V-Slash after being rebuilt by Oslak.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called Desraa. Some English fansubs of the original anime even choose to render its name as Deathler instead.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Subjected to this by Oslak, who recovered the remains and rebuilt Desler along with a new head, making it stronger and more powerful with a sword and shield capable of absorbing ultra electromagnetic energy to counter Voltes V's Ultra Electromagnetic Ball.
  • Your Head A-Splode: Suffers this when struck in the face by Voltes V before being finished off by the Laser Sword.

    Zunaizer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_010907_youtube.jpg

The fifteenth Beast Fighter of the Boazanian forces and the third Armored Beast Fighter.

  • Adaptational Badass: Is upgraded with Maxingal Alloy as an Armored Beast Fighter compared to its anime counterpart, which is just a regular Beast Fighter.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: It appears much later as an Armored Beast Fighter.
  • Fire-Breathing Weapon: Its four heads belch fire; and when combined with its ability to coil around its enemy, the enemy stands no chance of survival. The Voltes Team learns this the hard way, until Oslak's unexpected interference breaks them free from the Beast Fighter's grasp.
  • Our Hydras Are Different: Is this as a Robeast example.
  • Spell My Name With An S: In the anime, it's called Suneizaa.

     Godor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_20230907_180026_facebook.jpg

The sixteenth and final Beast Fighter, piloted by Prince Zardoz himself.

  • Adaptational Badass: Godor managed to actually damage Voltes V, taking away its right arm and almost killed Mark Gordon compared to its anime counterpart that was unable to leave any significant blow on Voltes V other than a sword slash on the torso.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Godor is gold-coloured with undertones of red and silver, compared to its anime counterpart that had dark, shiny blue armour. However, they both retain the spiky blue hair. It's colour palette is also rather dull compared to Godol's vibrant hues. In addition, Godor has four horns instead of two.
  • Adaptational Superpower Change: It's original anime counterpart, Godol, didn't have cannons on the back.
  • An Arm and a Leg: Severs Voltes V's right arm with his enormous cannons' energy attack.
  • Bishōnen Line: Is the most humanoid-looking of all the Beast Fighters, resembling a four-horned Boazanian.
  • Breath Weapon: Averted this time: Godor's blue fire breath is instead replaced by massive twin back cannons.
  • BFG: Has a pair that emerge from its back like demonic wings.
  • BFS: Wields one as its primary weapon.
  • Final Boss: The last and ultimate Beast Fighter.
  • Flaming Sword: It can set its sword on fire to enhance its attacks.
  • God Guise: Is disguised as a giant idol statue with a blue torch, and only one willing to sacrifice themselves to the blue flame may pilot it.
  • Hero Killer: Narrowly averted. Godor destroys the Volt Bomber, but Mark lives.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: How Voltes V defeats it, running the final Beast Fighter through with the Laser Sword.
  • One-Winged Angel: In a way, to Prince Zardoz himself.
  • Symbolic Wings: Its secondary weapon, two enormous cannons that emerge from its back.
  • Three-Point Landing: Does this upon being activated and piloted by Zardoz as it emerges from the Imperial Palace. It ends up crushing Contessa and her fellow Boazanian nobles when it landed on top of them as collateral damage.
