Trope was cut/disambiguated due to cleanup

* CharClone: Because the original Heinel/Zardoz predated the trope namer, this version of Zardoz qualifies as such. On top of being one of the Voltes Team's fearsome adversaries, the fact that he is also Hrothgar and Rozalia's first-born son, [[spoiler:this also means that he's the older half-brother of the Armstrong siblings]]. He even [[spoiler: disguises himself as "Manuel Nabuz" via the ''Polseras'' device to infiltrate Camp Big Falcon and gain the trust of Steve, Big Bert and Little Jon.]] Not only that, Zardoz used a variation of The Char Kick [[spoiler: when piloting Godor against Voltes V]].

Spelling/grammar fix(es)

** When Zardoz has the Voltes Team in his grasp, instead of killing them (thus rendering Voltes V without its pilots), he chooses to present them to his uncle as gifts, and then, for no reason, decides to spar with them. Both of these examples are how his trait of WouldntHurtAChild greatly works against him.

* WouldHurtAChild: Discussed and averted in episode 57, where Steve begs him to let Little John go, and keep the other members of the team after they're trapped in the ship. Zardoz agrees, and when Draco questions it, he asks him if he really is scared of a little kid. This is in contrast to his anime counterpart, who had no qualms about killing children.

Zardoz agrees, and when Draco questions it, he asks him if he really is scared of a little kid. This same trope is also averted in an even earlier episode when he orders Negg to let the Volt Frigate go after it constricts the young boy's Volt Machine and comes very close to breaking and destroying it. This is in contrast to his anime counterpart, who had no qualms about killing children.

Added DiffLines:

*AdaptationalPersonalityChange: Zandra is far more careless here, choosing to toy with Judalah for her own entertainment, while her anime counterpart preferred to neutralize threats as soon as they occured. Unsurprinsingly, this led to Judalah escaping.

Added DiffLines:

*BettyAndVeronica: Unlike Zaki, who's shameless and wild about her crush on Zardoz, Zandra is more innocent and simple about it.

Added DiffLines:

*StupidEvil: She could have killed Judalah on the spot, but decided it was more fun to play a cat-and-mouse game with her.

Added DiffLines:

*BettyAndVeronica: Zaki is the spicy and flirty Veronica, compared to Zandra who's softer and more genuine to Zardoz.

Added DiffLines:

*MrsRobinson: She is old enough to be Takeo and Arisa's mother, yet hits on Zardoz, who's about their age.

It feels like the person/people who wrote those just have the hots for an 18-year-old cartoon guy. Prince Zardoz in the live-action is still presented as very attractive. Of course he's not going to look like a cartoon. Del Rosario has a very smooth face as Zardoz; this is as close as you can get to anime prettiness in real life. Also, unless his hairy chest is being framed as squicky, it's not Fan Disservice. It's super YMMV. I don't even like hairy chests, but seriously, c'mon.

* AdaptationalAttractiveness:
** Zardoz inverts this. While he isn't ugly, he lacks Heinel's {{Bishounen}} prettyness, toussled hair, elegant features and long eyelashes.
** In the original anime, Jangal Rui looked like a BigRedDevil with a head full of hair. His ''Legacy'' counterpart is more human-looking in comparision. Draco also lacks Jangal's prominent beer belly.

* FanDisservice: Zardoz's hairy chest during the sex scene.[[note]]Ironically, his anime counterpart plays the opposite trope - in some art books, Yuki Hijiri drew [[PrettyBoy Heinel]] nude as {{Fanservice}}.[[/note]]

* DirtyCoward: Just like his anime counterpart, he is this as he tries to find a way to escape from Boazan in the middle of a liberation by the forces of Hrothgar's rebellion and Camp Big Falcon aided by Voltes V. Zardoz calls him out on this when he finds out his uncle intends to abandon Boazan.

* OhCrap: He is naturally terrified after [[spoiler: the Solar Falcon escaped the Posi-Negatron while the said weapon was destroyed, and the full blown revolution across Boazan broke out with the hornless Boazanians rising up against him]].

* AdaptationalBadass: [[spoiler: Godor managed to actually damage Voltes V, taking away its right arm and almost killed Mark Gordon compared to its anime counterpart.]]

* AdaptationalNationality: Inverted. In the original anime, The Boazanian Empire were a FantasyCounterpartCulture to France, but ''Legacy'' removes a lot of the Boazanian Empire's French aesthetics, such as the nobles dressing as French aristocrats. ** On the other hand, it changes them to have a Middle Eastern influence. Oslak's headdress seems to be Middle Eastern inspired. Zaki's aides also appear to be two women that dress in a style that resembles the hijab. ''Legacy'' also rewrites the Boazan language to be derived from Arabic - for example, an early episode of the series reveals to us that the Boazan word for "Star" is "Najmi".[[note]]The Arabic word for star is "Najm"[[/note]]
