Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

@Forgo Light

Lord English may be a threat to morpho as much as morpho is to him despite English’s Complete Immortality, as he went around nuking dream bubbles and destroying parts of the afterlife. Doc Scratch may be concerned and plan around his interference using his Omniscience.

[up] Alright. Will add that in. Before I do, does anyone have any ideas for Dark Meta Knight?

And one more thing. The Owl House has just passed the threshold set by the Hype Prevention Sandbox, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to hear out my ideas for deity candidates... I have three (technically four) candidates and I believe Excessive Menace had a fourth one that they were workshopping...

  • Rivals: Son Goku, Vegeta, Vergil, SCP-076-2, Augus, Flandre Scarlet, Sailor Galaxia (Galacta Knight Only)
  • Unwitting Pawn: Queen Sectonia (Dark Meta Knight Only)
  • Throughout many of his adventures, Kirby met and fought a certain adversary named Meta Knight many times. A winged, masked spherical blob like him wielding a sword who's proven to be a difficult opponent to face off against. But over time, their relationship became friendlier, and outside of involuntary possessions or tournaments, they don't fight each other as often. Ever since, multiple beings very similar to Meta Knight have appeared to seemingly take his place as antagonistic masked knights. The first is Dark Meta Knight, Meta Knight's evil counterpart from the Mirror World, who sealed him away and split Kirby in four, and later corrupted Queen Sectonia after the death of Dark Mind. The second is Galacta Knight, the greatest warrior in the galaxy who was sealed away for his overwhelming power, capable of destroying planets, who was once renowned in days of yore for vanquishing a great void. The third is Morpho Knight, a psychopomp who takes the form of a butterfly to take the souls of warriors to the afterlife and assume its knightly form. All three have shown as enigmatic and powerful foes to beat every time they cross paths with Kirby and his friends.
  • One fateful day of Judgement, in the aftermath of an especially mighty battle between the warriors Son Goku, and Galacta Knight, an innocuous orange butterfly floated down and landed on Goku's hair. As the Saiyan looked in curiosity, he was surrounded by an orange light and vanished. In his place was a fearsome Knight of the Underworld. This butterfly knight promptly launched a relentless assault on Galacta Knight, as well as a nearby Vegeta, Thor, and Adora while Dark Meta Knight secretly spectated. Amazingly, the seemingly implacable knight was soon faced with only Galacta as Dark Meta Knight joined the fray. Before things could escalate, Kirby stepped in and pacified all three knights, with Dark retreating into a mirror, Galacta being returned to his crystal, and the butterfly knight vanishing, leaving a dazed Goku behind. The Court of the Gods had witnessed the whole battle and knew that Morpho Knight had just entered the pantheon.
  • Soon after this fateful clash it was decided that Dark Meta Knight and Galacta Knight should be moved from their independent seats into a shared seat with Morpho Knight much to the former's irritation. (Galacta Knight couldn't care either way as he was still sealed up inside his crystal) The exact reasons for this are unclear though some speculate that their powers keep each other in check, and sharing a house would make them much easier to keep track of, especially should one get out of hand and necessitate a visit from their arch-rival Kirby to shut them down.
  • Saying that the three warriors are adversarial would imply that their response to seeing each other or each other's allies is not to immediately attack them. Though Galacta Knight does this with virtually anyone anyways, his ferocity seems to increase whenever he's combating the other two knights, especially Morpho Knight, given how some say that Galacta Knight himself was and is a target of Morpho Knight to be escorted to the afterlife, whether he wants to leave or not. Fortunately for the Pantheon, Dark Meta Knight is the only true schemer and plotter amongst the three and Galacta and Morpho generally leave the rest of the Pantheon alone if left to their own devices.
  • Naturally, Kirby was less than impressed that yet another one of his adversaries had ascended, especially one as powerful as Morpho Knight. That said, after their first confirmed encounter, Kirby was actually able to secure remnants of Morpho's sword, make it his own and wield all of the Butterflies powers at a moment's notice. It was this ability that enabled the Super Tuff Pink Puff to pacify all three knights at once. The rest of Kirby's friends from Planet Popstar and beyond, namely King Dedede, Meta Knight, Bandana Dee, the Animal Friends, Adeline, Magolor, and Susie were none to thrilled to see the triad all in one spot either, though they are less tense than they would be due to the triad being just as hostile to each other as they are to all of them. The knights have also singled out Void Termina as a common enemy given the God's incredible destructive power. Some in the Pantheon speculate that this opposition is quite personal for Galacta Knight in particular due to the possibility that he was one of the ancient heroes who defeated Void in times of yore.
  • Dark Meta Knight:
    • Dark Meta Knight is known to be a former lieutenant of the villain known as Dark Mind. It's speculated that Dark Mind is the Mirror World version of Zero, the Hive Master of the Dark Matter Horde, so few were surprised by the shadowy knight allying with the embodiment of Darkness and Corruption. Similarly, Dark Meta Knight associates with deities like Dark Matter such as The Shadow Queen. Dark Meta Knight's role in corrupting Queen Sectonia has drawn the eye of many villains in the Pantheon.
    • Dark Meta Knight is naturally drawn to various evil copies of heroic characters such as the likes of Dark Link. His alliance with Dark Link naturally led to him uniting with Ganondorf. The Demon King is notably quite interested in the Mirror World due to finding a notable degree of similarities to the Dark World that he once inhabited as Ganon. Link, Zelda, and the other heroes of Hyrule are naturally unnerved by this due to how dangerous the knight is.
    • Giorno Giovanna, Leone Abbachio, and Pannacotta Fugo really dislike Dark Meta Knight, as they had to deal with Illuso, a stand user whose stand, "Man in the Mirror", could make him and others travel between a mirror world and the real world, and Dark Meta Knight brings back bad memories of that encounter. They are loathe to fight him, as he happens to be a much more fearsome fighter that Illuso was. Dark Meta Knight’s relationship with Illuso is simply a rivalry over who is better with mirrors, and they are thankful the two aren’t working together.
    • The Sailor Guardians really don’t like this guy. Moon especially since he reminds her of that one time Queen Nehelenia captured all of the other Senshi in mirrors, brainwashed Mamoru and killed Chibiusa. He’s enough of a fighter to battle his way through most Senshi which actually attracted the attention of the Dead Moon Circus. Queen Nehelenia is interested in potentially finding a way to copy his cloning abilities and giving them to her Lemures given those monsters shatter into pieces upon being killed.
    • Dark Meta Knight has shown a great deal of interest in the Magic Mirror, wondering if he could corrupt it like he did the Dimension Mirror and thereby use it as a tool to create another Queen Sectonia. Given how the Magic Mirror is sentient, it doesn't particularly like this prospect.
    • He has also shown an interest in deities such as Jeanne D'Arc Alter due to how she is a version of the noble knight turned to evil by malice and hatred, much like how Dark Meta Knight tainted Sectonia. Other deities he is interested in include the Dark Star due to it's extreme power, which could enable Dark Meta Knight to cause untold levels of ruin, the likes of which even Dark Mind couldn't achieve.
  • Galacta Knight:
    • As the Greatest Warrior in the Galaxy, Galacta Knight unsurprisingly has a slew of rivals lining up to try and challenge him to a duel to see if he really lives up to his title. Deities like Son Goku, Vegeta, Vergil, Augus, and many more all champ at the bit to face the legendary knight in battle, and none have ever been disappointed with his power. It's recently been rumored that he hasn't even shown how strong he truly is, and these same deities are hoping that they get to see the Temporal Warrior at his absolute best some day.
    • Galactus and Unicron find Galacta Knight to be extremely irritating due to his capacity for destroying the planets they intend to devour at a rate that would put Kid Buu to shame. As such, they habitually stay as far away from the knight both out of a desire to not starve, as well as due respect for his immense power. While Mogo and Gaea would normally appreciate this, they are very much in the firing line of the mighty warrior's seemingly endless wrath and so they would just as soon avoid him as well.
    • SCP-076-2 has something of a camaraderie with the white knight. Both were massively powerful Blood Knights who were sealed away for how obscenely dangerous they are. That said Galacta Knight is ironically less violent than the SCP due to not going out of his way to harm others. He simply fights off anyone around him. The SCP's Resurrective Immortality has made him a sparring partner to keep the both warriors busy, much to the relief of the foundation.
    • Galacta Knight's status as a Temporal Warrior has gotten the attention of villainous deities displaced in time such as Eobard Thawne and Goku Black. They scoff at the knight and regard him as little more than a mindless brute, though they take care to avoid an unnecessary confrontation with him due to his immense power. This same status has become something of a point of interest to Chronoa who wonders if it would be possible to get Galacta Knight to fight Thawne and Black for her without consequence, given his own temporally displaced status, though as of yet she has made no attempt to reach out to the knight.
    • Summoning Galacta Knight is an unbelivably bad idea. Just ask Star Dream and Nightmare. Skeletor heard of their failures and chalked it up to them not doing it correctly and so he made his own attempt, hoping to use the knight against the Masters of the Universe and Castle Grayskull. This went about as well as you can imagine. The only reason Skeletor wasn't cleaved from existence by the knight's lance is due to the very enemies he wanted to destroy saving him, and even then Galacta Knight took the might of True She-Ra and He-Man to hold him at bay while the Princesses of Power pooled all of their magic to seal him back inside his crystal.
    • Other warriors associated with destruction such as Sailor Galaxia have a fierce rivalry with the knight, seeing him as a threatening challenge to their domain. Galaxia and Galacta once fought with the only results being a few galaxies worth of destroyed planets, as neither warrior was truly victorious. As a result of this, and especially after she became privy to the legends of the Aeon Hero, Galaxia has sought out Flandre Scarlet hoping for her advice on how to combat the knight as she once (barely) managed to pacify him before.
    • Of the three knights, Galacta arguably made the strongest first impression, due to the legends of his encounters with Kirby and his friends outnumbering both those of Dark Meta Knight and Morpho Knight combined. Ironically, Kirby has yet to ever independently verify these pruported battles, unlike his first encounter with Dark Meta Knight, and his meeting with Morpho Knight in Forgo Land. Even so, Galacta arguably has had a greater impact due to his first appearance being the catalyst for the other two knights to follow the formula of being the gatekeepers to the True Final Boss, while themselves being Post Game exclusive bosses who easily surpass the Final Boss in difficulty.
    • Galacta Knight hasn't always been the near mindless force of destruction he is now. Once, in times of yore he was one of the mighty four heroes who defeated the Astral Birth Void, and locked the Omniversal manifestation of all matter within the Jamba Heart using the four legendary Heart Spears. In those days long past, Galacta was known as the Aeon Hero, and recent rumors abound that he has started to reveal that side of himself in battles with Kirby. Notably, the Aeon Hero is far, far, far more powerful than Galacta's base state. This news was naturally met with mixed reactions as while deities such as Madoka Kaname, Sora, and Aang brought up the possibility that he could be redeemed, the sheer powerhouse needed to calm his rage as Galacta Knight, much less the Aeon Hero has given many others a great deal of pause at the prospect of attempting this.
  • Morpho Knight:
    • The Butterfly of Paradise known as Morpho Knight is quite the oddball, even amongst it's two peers within the triad. Unlike the other two, Morpho is a Butterfly first and foremost, with it assuming its Knight of the Underworld form after assimilating an especially powerful soul and sending that soul to the afterlife. Further exploration of its nature made it clear that this Butterfly was in fact a Personification of Death. Naturally, this resulted in Death of The Endless taking an immediate liking to the Butterfly, especially since Morpho is one of the only Death Entities in the Pantheon that is actually on her level. Likewise, other Death entities took a liking to Morpho as well, seeing it as a prime way of disposing of particularly stubborn and powerful Death Dodgers.
    • Outside of Kirby, Morpho is the deity in the Pantheon that Fecto Forgo reviles the most. The only time they met, Morpho landed on Soul Forgo and utterly annihilated it on contact, before taking it's powers for it's own and using them against Kirby. Surprisingly, the sentiment is seemingly mutual as Forgo was able to return the favor after Kirby defeated the knight and steal some of its powers, which the Butterfly of Paradise has not taken kindly too at all. Even with the knowledge that it can steal some of Morpho Knight's essence to become Chaos Elfilis, Forgo isn't in any hurry to try that again lest the Butterfly not be defeated and result in it's dogged soul truly going to the afterlife.
    • Due to its role of ferrying the souls of those who should have already passed into their final afterlife, Nekron utterly despises the Butterfly Knight. Just making contact with it, even in it's Butterfly state will instantly vaporize any Black Lantern he raises, no matter how powerful it is. Likewise, deities who benefit from undeath such as Dracula will avoid Morpho Knight like the plague do to just how effective it is at killing them permanently.
    • All deities who have been brought Back from the Dead, good or evil are absolutely terrified of the Butterfly, due to being on it's target list for being claimed. Goku and his friends in particular are frightened due to the possibility of Morpho's afterlife being a place that the Dragon Balls cannot bring them back from. Puss in Boots is likewise terrified due to his encounters with the Wolf, and is worried that his expenditure of eight of his nine lives will attract Morpho Knight's attention.
    • The inhabitants of Bikini Bottom once had a thoroughly unpleasant experience with a Butterfly that they mistook for a horrible monster, which resulted in the entire town being left in ruins. When the Butterfly manifested in the Pantheon and proved that it was not the harmless insect that "Wormy" was, they saw it as their fears being completely vindicated, and promptly put in a formal request to ban Morpho Knight from coming within a certain distance of any of their houses. Spongebob and Patrick in particular are terrified of the Butterfly due to both of them having not only been the first Bikini Bottomites to have met the Butterfly state of "Wormy", but they technically "died" while in Shell City. As a result, they immediately go running for Kirby as soon as they see any Butterfly nearby on principle.
    • Morpho's check list for people needing to be sent to the afterlife does not end at those who were resurrected. If you have become disconnected from time and passed the point in which you should have fallen to oblivion, Morpho Knight will come after you. This has made the likes of Lord English and Dark Danny very nervous as they know an encounter with the Butterfly could spell their utter end. English especially attracts Morpho Knight's ire thanks to his continuous destruction of parts of the afterlife.
    • Chronoa has taken a major liking to the Butterfly as a result of its ability to claim time breakers from wherever they manifest within the time stream, and greatly appreciates its role in combatting those who would violate the time stream to escape their own death. This same ability has made it the bane of the Puella Magi, with Homura in particular declaring all out war on the Knight to prevent it from claiming her beloved Madoka.
    • The Dragon Aspects of Azeroth have mixed opinions of the knight. While they respect it as a being doing its duty, Alextrasza and Ysera are worried that the fact that Ysera was revived from Death by a member of the Pantheon of Death will not be enough to dissuade the Butterfly from coming to claim her back. Nozdormu is aware that Morpho will be hunting him at some point after he becomes Murozond and he has accepted this due to forseeing the moment that the Butterfly will claim its draconic prize from the moment he became an Aspect.
    • Doc Scratch considers the Butterfly of Paradise to be a substantial threat to his plans due to its ability to send him directly to the afterlife from anywhere in time in relation to his own plans for releasing his master. Naturally the not so good doctor began crafting as many plans and plots as he could to try and keep the Butterfly off his tail until he was ready to be killed.
    • One other talent of Morpho's is infiltrating and devouring the dreams of the souls that it takes to the afterlife, as seen by it effortlessly journeying to the heart of Forgo Dreams to claim Soul Forgo. As such it has made many dream related deities very nervous, with speculation abounding that Morpho Knight was the one who claimed the Morpheus incarnation of Dream of The Endless, though no proof has been shown. Nevertheless, this ability has made it a hated enemy of the Dream Demon Bill Cipher, and the one being in the Pantheon that Freddy Krueger truly fears.

As for the people from The Owl House...

Luz Noceda and Amity Blight, Divine Adolescent LGBTQ Couple as Intermediate Goddesses. (Luz is a Greater Goddess with Stringbean, and an Overdeity as Titan Luz, though before she learned magic she was a Demigoddess.) Luz and Amity are am iconic representation of LGBTQ youth, as their romance forms a significant part of their characters. Luz learns to be more grounded and down to Earth thanks to Amity's influence, and Amity learns to be more rebellious and free spirited thanks to Luz's influence. Both girls build off of each other and support their partner when the other is feeling down, with Lumity being one of the most prominent features of the show thanks to how open, healthy, and prominent it is.

Philip Wittebane/Emperor Belos, Unholy Practitioner of Witch Hunting as a Greater God (He becomes an Overdeity when he hijacks the Boiling Isles Titan.) Belos has his entire personality and motivation derive from the fact that he is a Puritanical, Fundamentalist Witch Hunting Zealot. It's why he traveled to the Boiling Isles, it's why he murdered his brother Caleb, it's why he made Grimwalkers of Caleb that would assist him in his ultimate goal: The total genocide of all life on the Boiling Isles, simply because they were Witches and Demons.

Camila Noceda, Patron Saint of Extremely Prominent and Important Minor Characters as a Lesser Goddess. Camila is part of the reason the plot happens at all. Because she caved into the pressures of the School District Luz was attending to send her to Summer Camp, Luz ended up in the Boiling Isles. Getting back to her mother is the core of Luz's entire motivation in Season 2, aside from stopping Belos' attempted genocide. And Camila herself becomes The Sixth Ranger to her daughter's friend group when she follows them to the Demon Realm in Season 3.

Now before you say anything, I am well aware of the fact that Keel Lorenz already holds this seat. However his profile is... Really weak. Less than 6k bytes weak, and it has not aged well, so I was thinking we should scrap him, and give Minor Major Character to Camila and Omniscient Council of Vagueness to Cognito Inc, specifically the Shadow Board. Reagan can get Conspiracy Kitchen Sink. Thoughts?

[up]Minor Major Character states that it's about characters who have major relevance to the setting of the story a la politicians or military figures, so I'm pretty sure a veterinarian like Camila Noceda being listed at all in that page is misuse.

IDK about the rest. You can argue the show has left the Hype Prevention Sandbox all you want, but immediately grabbing at the chance to ascend characters the moment that happens still smacks of hype-driven ascensions to me as much as people like to deny it.

[up] Wasn't planning on rushing them out right away. Just thought I would bring them into the thread's consciousness so some preliminary work could be done.

And... I swore that it could also apply plotwise? Though I can accept if wrong.

[up][up][up] I know Heroic Wannabe is also a good candidate for Belos as the profile holding it isn’t that good. Regardless he’s charismatic as fuck and may preserve his reputation before the Day of Unity at least Pantheonically unfortunately (not helped by the fact that there are people in the Pantheon who actually ARE capable of what he was Cursed with) and [tup] To him and Luz/Amity either way. No to Camila though.

Fargo@ While im ok with Luz and Amity getting in, i don't feel the trope is right since their romance comes off as a regular romance with their sexuality not really playing that big part of it.

I can only think of a single trope for Luz in It's All My Fault. Dont know if that's taken.

While doing The Owl House is rather hasty at this time, even if it's gotten out of HPS, I would counterargue that Emperor Belos would make a better candidate for Heroic Wannabe. While I think The Witch Hunter is a viable choice, I think Heroic Wannabe pretty much describes Belos's twisted and messed-up character; despite being the main villain, his ultimate goal is to become a hero. It seems admirable enough, but in addition to being a crazed sociopath whose standards and values are incredibly backwards and were extreme even for a man in the 17th Century, his actions in trying to be a "hero" are nowhere near as heroic as he claims/sees it to be. It's pretty clear that he's more motivated by hatred and discrimination, but the show goes to lengths at how terribly deluded and out-of-reality Belos really is. He's a Knight Templar Type C Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist.

The current holder for Heroic Wannabe can be deleted for all I care. Yes, I'm pro-Kamen Rider when it comes to getting it fixed, but even then, I feel like that guy doesn't really have much going for him IMO.

Finally, while this is what I think is the best approach, don't take this as a suggestion.

[tdown] on Camilla. Like what Wootz said, Minor Major Character doesn't seem to properly apply for her, not to mention from what I've read, Camilla seems to be a major supporting character in the show.

I agree with Belos getting Heroic Wannabe.

On another Alternate trope for Luz and maybe Amity, though this could fit the Clawthorne family, is Geometric Magic. Magic in the Boiling Isles are cast by drawing circles with their innate magic. Luz herself discovers Glyphs that she can use by drawing on them and she makes different combos over the course of the series. They are also plot important.

Okay so I am dropping Camila and going with just Luz and Amity as well as Philip, got it. Would it be overly greedy if Bellhop was both Heroic Wannabe and The Witch Hunter? I mean both are defining aspects of his personality and motivation respectively...

Also is everyone okay with Coming Of Age Queer Romance? I mean Amity experienced a fair bit of nervousness and angst about her crush for Luz because it was her first big crush. I thought it didn't strictly have to be about Gayngst?

And finally, thoughts on the knights?

Edit: [up] Well that is far more applicable to Luz as well as ironically Belos than it is to the native Witches and Demons such as Amity, the rest of the Hexsquad and the Clawthorne, since they just trace Spell Circles in the air to cast magic via Bile Sac. Hmmm... Maybe Against the Grain if I brought Vee, Hunter, Willow, and Gus into the fold with Lumity?

[up][up][up] Technically you can allow Belos to have two tropes, as that is the maximum amount of tropes a character can have. But personally, I’d prefer that he’d only have one.

And while on the subject I think Belos would be better with Van Helsing Hate Crimes. He wants to destroy all magical creatures, he feels like it’s a good thing simply because personally believes that they’re all evil, even though he’s worse than all of them, and he isn’t willing to listen to the fact that they’re not all evil. In fact this trope even correlates to his The Witch Hunter mentality and his twisted Heroic Wannabe status.

I know Hoss Delgado currently has this trope, but his profile isn’t doing any good, plus he does get over this.

  • A strange pale-looking man wearing a baseball uniform suddenly appeared in the Pantheon one day, popping out of the fireplace in the House of Ambiguity. When questioned how he got there, he responded thusly:
"I am the Batter, and I jumped down the chimney."
    • The divine spirit Junko immediately rushed to the aforementioned House when someone told her that a mysterious man was looking for her. She recognized the pale man as the High Priest she requested to ascend into godhood and decided to help him give him the ropes about the Pantheon. The Batter stayed in her temple for a while since he has yet to be given a proper trope title for himself. She could vividly recall the man's story when she was looking for potential deity candidates from other worlds:
  • A mysterious force behind the screen, known as The Player, was assigned to a being called The Batter. They were told that he had a special mission to fulfill. The Batter is aware that another being was controlling him and he needed their help to move and navigate the world around him. After initially being placed in Zone 0 and trained to battle by the enigmatic cat named The Judge, The Batter and The Player were ready to explore the various zones. The Player learns that their mission was to purify the world, and to do so, they must eliminate the Queen of the Specters. They embarked on this sacred mission; traveling from zone to zone, purifying the evil specters and later the zone's corrupted residents called Burnts. When The Batter was made aware of The Guardians, the cruel overseers of these zones, he decided to purify them too.
    • The Player may go back to the zones they have purified, only to discover a desolate white wasteland saved for monsters worse than any enemies they have encountered so far. The Player eventually learns what purification entails: "purifying" a spectre or a burnt would destroy them and "purifying" a Guardian would cause their zones and its residents "to disappear and fall into nothingness". Despite this knowledge, they continue The Batter's mission and entered an area called "The Room". During the journey in this area, the two see flashbacks of a little sickly boy's memories, how he was neglected by his mother, how he hated being in the care of his father, his meeting with the Guardians and how they used to be more benevolent in the past. When The Batter nearly reached the end of The Room, he met The Queen and told her that he returned to the "cradle of his father". He argued that due to The Queen neglecting her role as a caretaker (presumably of the sickly child), he must now fulfill his "sacred mission". She retorted about how The Batter destroyed the place she built for the presumed child and decided to initiate a fight to prevent The Batter from hurting "the son that bought [herself and the Batter] into the world". Despite her efforts, she was purified and The Batter and The Player proceed to the final rooms.
    • The two entered the final room where they performed a mercy kill on the sickly child, presumably the same one whose memories they saw earlier. With The Room fully purified, a lone switch appeared at the end of a long hall. Before The Batter can interact with it, The Judge suddenly appeared, recovering his senses from prior events as he realized what the two of them had done. The Judge argues that what The Player has done was to help The Batter commit familicide and they didn't cleanse the world of its evils but to be "immersed into a pristine nothingness". The Judge offers The Player to join his side to stop The Batter from completing his work. However, they decided to stay with the Batter and purify The Judge. With no more obstacles, The Batter was able to flick the switch. Turning the world OFF as it faded to black.
  • Now Junko, who had lost her own son to her enemy Houyi, didn't really care about the pale man's prior history of kinslaying, as she purified herself so much she lost all other emotions other than her own hatred and resentment towards her son's killer. She was more impressed by The Batter's abilities to "purify" enemies into nothingness, viewing it as an extension of her own powers of refining materials and removing impurities. She plans to use his presence as a way to finally get revenge on Houyi and his wife Chang'e. She's pretty open about her revenge plans to The Batter and he agreed to help, mainly as a favor to her for bringing him back into existence.
    • The divine spirit was careful to not let him get involved in her other revenge plans, such as her plans to help Gigyas by purifying and giving him some control of his almighty powers. She thinks The Batter would not help her once he finds out about her involvement with the evil all-powerful alien. The Batter eventually learns of Gigyas and his evil past. He doesn't seem fazed when he finds out that Junko is willing to help Gigyas; he's willing to help her by offering to "purify" the suffering alien. Junko, knowing what the Batter is trying to do, had to convince the purifier that she can do this task on her own.
  • In terms of normal attacks, The Batter always uses an iron bat or other bats made from the different elements of his world. Meanwhile the Competences of the Batter (or his special attacks) are all appropriately named after baseball terminology. His "Wide Angle" can give information about his enemies during battles; The "Run with..." Competences deal low elemental damage to an enemy; His "Homerun" Competences can deal very high damage to a single enemy at the cost of low accuracy. He can also heal himself and his allies with the "Base" Competences. The Batter is accompanied by three Add-Ons, floating ring-shaped beings that help him in battle with their own set of attacks. Jotaro Kujo once mistook the Batter's Add-Ons for Stands, and the Batter himself as a Stand User. The Batter had no idea what he was talking about and has ignored the Jojo since.
  • While Junko comes up with a future revenge plan involving the Batter, she lets him explore the houses to familiarize himself. The Batter adapted pretty well to his surroundings. Junko then got several complaint letters sent to her temple as The Batter was apparently going around trying to purify every spectre or ghost he encounters and thought she was responsible for it. The matter clarified that she had nothing to do with The Batter's actions, but it still resulted in the pale man being banned from going near the Hall of Ghosts.
    • The spectres from The Batter's world are creatures who are hostile to anyone who isn't a spectre. The Batter sees them as corrupted beings that needed to be "purified" and make no distinction on any spectre he's trying to eradicate. His first instinct upon learning about the various evil scepters in the Pantheon was to try and attack them on sight when he encounters them. Various ghosts and half-ghosts from Amity Park (Vlad Plasmius, Ember McLain, Desiree and even Dark Danny) have run-ins with the baseball-uniform-wearing man; so much so that they are willing to team up or ask Danny Phantom to help keep The Batter at bay. Ghosts from within the Hall of Ghosts like The Flying Dutchman and out of the hall like Spooky and The Headless Horseman also had unfortunate encounters with The Batter, which annoyed them a lot. Not helping is the fact that the Batter is quite powerful and tougher than he looks, which makes them blindsided when he does attack them.
    • Not even friendlier ghosts like Casper or C are safe from his attacks. It's likely because the two resemble the ghosts from his world the most, who usually are in the form of a Bedsheet Ghost or a humanoid ghoul. Surprisingly, he has trouble with battling some of the ghosts with a higher rank than him like his encounter with Erma Williams. But that probably won't stop him from trying to purify her again and any other powerful spectre in the future. Some human allies of these ghosts fear for the safety of their ghostly friends. The Super Peace Busters, for example, would hate him should he ever target their ghostly friend Menma. The Batter finds people who are friends with ghosts to be quite strange and unusual.
    • Due to The Batter's experiences with battling evil specters, he's often employed by other deities who are incapable of dealing with ghosts. He's also met other ghost hunters in the Pantheon. He initially gets along pretty well with Luigi, due to their mutually negative feelings against ghosts. He also at first got along well with The Ghostbusters, helping them with destroying ghosts too powerful or weak to be contained with their Proton Packs. He also met with a pair of ghost hunters Jack and Maddie Fenton, although their budding friendship was cut short when their son Danny tried to warn them about the monster their half-ghost son keeps seeing.
  • Besides spectres, he's also known to purify the wicked Guardians of each zones. They each mistreat their subjects in different ways, causing him to take action against them. He tried to enter the House of Leadership after learning about numerous bad leaders that had resided within their halls and wanting to "purify" as atonement for their evil actions. However, he had to temporarily retreat as he didn't anticipate the number of powerful deities that could overtake him. Since then, he's been banned from entering that house too.
  • He also has a problem for anything that would remind him of Burnts, a form of the Elsens (the zone's residents) that become corrupted-attacking mooks when experiencing stressful situations. As such, he dislikes deities that corrupt people into an empty version of themselves, someone like Grandfather or Rosine for example. Oryx, the Taken King, despises the Batter not only because he is able to "undo" the process of being Taken - the Mind Rape and transformation into an Eldritch Abomination - but because of the zeal he takes in purifying them. The Batter shares the sentiment, as he views the Taken and mooks like them with nearly the same level as the spectres, beings that needed to be "purified" to remove their affliction.
  • To explain the weird baseball getup, it's speculated that his child creator had based The Batter on a comic book character he saw that also wore a baseball uniform that attacks his enemy with his bat-wielding minions. The Batter, upon learning of so many other deities who use baseball bats as weapons, has taken to observing them in the House of Sports. Upon seeing the pale man, some of the bat-wielders, like Junpei and The Scout, decide to invite him to do sparring matches. The Batter easily made several homeruns with his iron bat. It's rumored that the bat-wielders are also interested in starting a baseball league, with The Batter as their leadoff hitter as well.
    • The Batter, upon being acquainted with her, also hit it off well with the bat-wielding Dokuro Mitsukai. He views her self-professed desire to curb Sakura's perverted tendencies as a noble goal in itself and approves of her tendency to go into Pervert Revenge Mode in most cases. Depending on the perpetrator, he even assisted her in several of her assaults…up until he witnessed her take the spiky bat to Sakura's head. He very nearly started the process of purification before Sakura was restored. The Batter, in a surprising display of restraint, asked why she had attacked her charge. Upon learning that this was her self-prescribed "treatment" for his pedophiliac tendencies, he was visibly silent for a while. Still, their relationship is largely positive, though.
    • He also encountered the assassin known as Bad Girl while he was exploring a basement that happened to be connected to her temple. He found her to be clubbing criminals with her bat yet again. Her odd and playful behavior reminded The Batter of a sugar-loving woman he once fought before. Meanwhile, The Batter's "holier than thou" attitude reminded Bad Girl of the first time she met and fought Travis Touchdown, who called her out for being "a perverted killing maniac". Sensing a déjà vu situation was about to happen and then noticing his weapon, Bad Girl decided to offer a truce with The Batter and show him a good time by clubbing criminals. The Batter isn't 100% keen on killing criminals for fun as she does but tolerates her presence for now so that he has one less enemy to worry about.
  • When he sees sugar or any similar sweetener being consumed, the Batter keeps a solid grip on his bat. In the Batter’s world, the primary source of sugar are from the cremated remains of dead workers from Zone 3. Upon learning that the Powerpuff Girls were made of Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice, the Batter marched over to the House of Science to confront Professor Utonium. After The Batter explained himself, the horrified Professor reassured that the Powerpuff Girls were NOT made from any cremated remains at all. After hearing about the ascension of the Guardian responsible for this system and not wanting the tragedy of Zone 3 to repeat itself, The Batter promptly stormed the House of Food and purified anything that could remotely contain sugar. Needless to say, this earned him the ire of many gods, particularly Stocking Anarchy, who were confused about the whole thing (until they learned of what the Batter was freaking out about).
  • Someone once joked that The Batter was a Magical Girl; what with the "Hero of Justice" vibe he initially invokes, his unusual weaponry and attire, his few borderline In the Name of the Moon styled introductions…
The Batter: Show yourselves, corrupted children! I'm the voice of forgiveness that will eliminate your calamitous forms.
    • After overhearing this, the Batter fell silent for several moments before marching off to the Magical Girl Sisterhood's temple. The Sisterhood was initially confused by this until The Batter expressed his intentions to purify evil spirits with them. So, they decided to let him into their ranks and some had even made him a Puella Magi style outfit for him to wear, though that didn't last very long. Upon learning of what a witch was, the Batter immediately set out to purify one. The Sisterhood later tried to stop him from destroying the Hall of Witches and Wizards when he learned that many evil witches reside in that hall.
    • Naturally, he's come to hate Kyubey as much as anybody else, and offered to purify the Incubator immediately for his crimes against the Puella Magi. Thankfully, when he actually met Kyubey, the Batter decided not to go through with it - which struck witnesses as rather strange, given that he had ample time to try and purify the cat-like alien. While the Batter hadn't explained the cause of his rage, or why he had reportedly talked to Kyubey when they crossed paths, it was theorized that Kyubey reminded him of someone he knew. Perhaps it reminded him of The Judge who once helped him with his sacred mission or perhaps The Queen who maintains and manages the zones she helped built —but ultimately led to the suffering of all involved in its workings. Either way, The Batter declined to comment on this comparison.
  • Despite the complaints from other deities, the Court of Gods can't exactly kick The Batter out of the Pantheon as he was already deified with a potentially valid Trope waiting to be assigned for him. After weeks of liberation with an extensive review of his past, the Court decided that the Batter would represent the usage of words meaning impending death. So it was made that he would bear this title as a warning to others about what he does. They also ask him to move out of Junko's temple and into a new temple made just for him, an open room with a single floating red box that when touched leads to a black nearly empty void (sans another floating red box to get out of this place). When asked what he thinks of all this, his response was:
The Batter: It's better this way.
  • Overnight when The Batter's past became known to the public, he became one of the most controversial people in the Pantheon. Sure, he did kill "a wife and a child" along with the rest of his world but there are some deities who found his situation oddly sympathetic. It can be argued that unlike other Omnicidal Maniacs, who wanted to destroy the world for the heck of it or because it is within their nature to do so, The Batter doesn't really have much of a choice other than trying to fulfill his sacred mission. The land is plagued by spectres; its residents are neurotic workers who are anxious about everything and can't seem to function on their own, its Guardians are horrible people who neglected their duties or treat their workers horribly, The Queen does a poor job in managing all of the zones and her ward is a very sick child who is clearly suffering a lot. Was there a better way to improve his Crapsack World other than to end their suffering?
    • Some deities are not sympathetic to his situation at all. His perceived lack of care, emotions, and empathy towards other people; his lack of trying to put positivity and improve the lives of everyone around him; his whole purpose as a tool made to destroy his world; said mission killed countless innocent people in its wake; the fact that for some people, genocide and kinslaying is an unforgivable crime. He could be an unrepentant sadistic omnicidal maniac as far as other deities are concerned. The Batter is very tight-lipped about his actual intentions, so he's not likely to explain his actions to anyone.
    • The House of Family is divided on how it views the Batter. Many see his 'purification' of the Queen and Hugo as reprehensible in the extreme, especially since the former was his (maybe) wife and the latter was a defenseless child. Others point out how he went out of his way to comfort both of them in their dying moments, most evident in his dialogue with the Queen ("Queen of the flies, it’s time to join your disciples. It all went wrong. Time to forget about it and dream sweet dreams.") or the child (When the child told him "I’m… scared of the dark…", his response was "From now on, there will be no more darkness."). That, combined with arguments about The Queen's perceived neglect of her duties as a caretaker and the morality of having to make a sick child suffer more by trying to make him live, and you have a House that's arguing for days over their stance of the Batter's actions.
  • Depending on their viewpoint regarding The Batter, gods in the Pantheon literally see him differently. Those who sympathize or are neutral towards him reported seeing him as a pale man wearing a white baseball uniform and a black cap that hides his eyes in shadow. Those who don't have favorable opinions of him tend to scream something about a monstrous duck. Upon being made aware of his presence and his backstory, The SCP Foundation is very interested in studying the Batter, as well as the process of purification and its aftereffects. They're also very interested in finding out what the Batter actually is, given the way he can appear in alternate, more clearly inhuman forms. Whether they also intend on classifying him as an SCP or recruiting him as an Agent (or perhaps both) is currently being discussed by the O5 Council members.
  • Due to the recent revelations, some of his allies at that point have understandably quietly distanced themselves from The Batter. Luigi, having prevent beings who tried to destroy the universe like Count Bleck (formerly) and Dimentio, is one of those people. That and he's now seeing The Batter's scarier alternative form. The Magical Girl Sisterhood, in an unusual move, has decided to still keep their ties to the Batter, arguing it would be better for them to keep watch of the Batter for the time being given the number of evil beings that want to use him for their plans. Junko herself still works with the Batter because she's that persistent in her pursuit of revenge, but has been more secretive about it so that the Magical Girls won't be aware of her plans. (Disturbing, The Batter recently convinced Junko to start teaching him how to use Spell Cards). Despite this turn of events, he's managed to gain some additional allies:
    • Due to their shared affinity for mixing spirituality and ass-kicking, the Batter and Alexander Anderson get along like a house on fire. The Batter was willing to overlook the fact that Anderson used the corruptive power of the Nail of Helena due to how it was only to complete his sacred mission (killing Alucard), and actually commended Anderson on his commitment to seeing it through. Anderson, on the other hand, is willing to overlook the Batter's mass destruction of his world, seemingly agreeing that his drastic measure by the amount of wicked spirits and evil leaders his world has.
    • Recently has been making rather unusual extensive visits to Oriko Mikuni, a magical girl who is not part of the Sisterhood due to her actions of killing Madoka in one timeline. Other gods aren't sure what they discuss behind their closed doors, but during a session of speculating it has been pointed out that they do share several things in common. Both started out as friendly heroes with seemingly good intentions, only to reveal themselves as someone to rally against. Both have embarked on missions concerning the fate of the world with deadly amounts of determination and lethal force, remaining largely stoic about executing their missions, and remaining Defiant to the End when they were slain. There's also the fact that they both wear a lot of white. On top of these strange actions, The Batter also has been seen using Oriko's ball attacks for batting practice.
  • He's also been stocking up on a staggering number of restorative items and making frequent visits to the Houses of Weapons and Craft. When their supplies had run out, he decided to appoint his vendor Zacherie as his herald. He sells him various weapons and defense wares that can only be found in The Batter's world. Upon being resurrected, Zacherie seems amused about the situation and decided to go along with this fanfiction. Upon the discovery of video footage of what looked like the Batter and Zacharie dancing together, several deities questioned him as he was passing the House of Music if he does indeed dance. The Batter's denial, coupled with the location it was delivered in, kickstarted a Spontaneous Musical Number.
  • In an unexpected turn of events, The Batter has struck up a friendship with Papyrus. When Papyrus attempted to stop The Batter in his tracks with the skeleton's puzzles near his temple, The Batter managed to solve some puzzle traps with ease, much to the surprise of the skeleton. Impressed, he later befriended The Batter, to which the latter accept when he sense a strange familiarity with the skeleton. They both found out that in an alternate timeline, the skeleton managed to gain the respect of the Batter to the point where he decided to save the world. Passively. Even after being aware of The Batter's past, Papyrus sincerely believes The Batter can change for the better in his time here in the Pantheon.
    • Speaking of Underground denizens, he has found an astounding number of similarities between himself and King Asgore Dreemur, namely the fact that they are willing to kill children to fulfill their respective missions, something that the latter notices and is saddened by. They regularly meet for tea and are on surprisingly admirable terms. Not all welcome his presence though. Because he can eliminate ghosts, his hall neighbor Napstablook is very fearful of ever encountering the Batter. The same applies for Mettaton, who himself is actually a ghost.
  • The Grand United Alliance of Destruction is very impressed by The Batter's accomplishments, especially Nekron, who wants all life to go back into being an empty void. There have been numerous attempts to recruit The Batter, only for their planned meetings to be thawed by The Magical Girl Sisterhood. When they were able to privately get a meeting with him, the Batter, surprisingly, rejected their offers to join them. Suspecting they know what his actual mission in the Pantheon was, The Batter told them that his sacred mission is for him and only him to fulfill on his own. They actually didn't know what The Batter's Pantheonic mission was. Either way, they are still trying to convince the Batter to join them as they think he can be a very powerful ally for their goals of destroying the Pantheon and everything else in existence.
  • Despite not allying himself with the GUAD, many heroic deities are very weary of The Batter, wondering if he ever has any intentions to destroy the Pantheon one day. After all, he's already destroyed one world, why not the other? The paladin Artix Von Krieger, for example, sees a dark mirror of himself with The Batter, as he too was also sent to destroy the world with darkness, but refuses to carry out this mission as he refuses to hurt anyone. He, along with other heroes debated on whether to do something about him. Despite their suspicions, they had no choice but to make him a low priority since 1) besides ghost-hunting or vigilantism, the Batter has yet to have done something that would be a world-ending threat (unlike other deities who are more active with their world-destroying goals) and 2) The Magical Girl Sisterhood are already keeping an eye on the Batter. For now, they are keeping in touch with the girls in case something happens to him.
  • Much like other deities, The Batter has memories of different timelines. He mainly remembers four of them: The path where he never fulfilled his mission because he and The Player repeatedly strike The Judge dead during the tutorial; the paths where The Player sides with Batter; and the paths where The Player betrays him and sides with The Judge, which lead to his death. The fourth timeline is a bit strange; after he and The Player collected some items and purified the woman in Zone 0's basement, Zacharie gave them a choice between getting the Ashley Bat and the Aries-card for free, The Batter chose the latter. Upon completing his mission in that timeline, The Batter discovered that he was being used as a pawn by space apes, who wanted to the void he left behind to build giant robot factories to fight the flying brains from the planet Aurus.
    • He didn't react much at the time, but shortly thereafter he visited the House of Mammals and barged into Winston's temple. He requests an explanation for his vision regarding the space apes to know more about them. Winston was confused by all this (after all, not all space apes know each other). They then got into a messy fight (because Winston became pissed off at the Batter for barging in and because he's heard of the Batter's antics from other deities). This led to The Batter getting kicked out from the Hall of Mammals.
  • In addition to the aforementioned four timelines, The Batter has faint memories of other distant timelines. In one timeline, the world was seemingly reset to what it was but things are not what they seem. He was there to fulfill the same mission as before but he was not connected with his Player. So he spends his time wandering around on his own in the various zones. Because The Judge was able to collect himself and gain a few allies before entering the final room, The Batter was defended once more before he can complete his mission. This is not a good outcome for him. He also noticed that this version of him was more confused and with No Sense of Direction, but also more prideful and more assertive in completing his mission. He also has a One-Winged Angel form exclusive to this timeline: The Bad Executioner.
    • In another timeline, after completing his mission, the Batter finds himself in an empty field and his Add-Ons are missing. While searching for his companions, he finds two versions of himself, a ghost version and a monster version (similar to his "bad" form). The trio went up to Heaven to search for his Add-Ons, but soon found some revelations about themselves and his Add-Ons as they move further along. Oddly enough, he calls The Judge his best friend (despite their overall short interaction in the main timelines) and decided to visit the cat in Purgatory after learning his location. The Judge, having gone mad, refuses to make amends with The Batter, despite the latter's heel-face change. There are plenty other timelines where he has memories of, but those two examples of distant timelines he sees a lot.
  • Eventually, one by one, The Batter's enemies also ascended into the Pantheon. Upon hearing that The Judge had ascended, the Batter immediately made his way over to the House of Justice. He was incredibly confused to discover a kindly old man instead of the many-fanged feline. He did eventually meet the Judge, but decided to ignore him for now, at least until the cat tries to stop him again. He also got into a fight with The Guardians as they wanted to take revenge against the Batter for killing them. This only stopped when other deities decided to intervene in the fight. The Batter doesn't seem bothered by their presence, even if he knows they would tell what The Batter has done to them to the other deities.
    • His relationship with The Queen is quite complicated. Although, they seem to talk like a bickering married couple when The Player saw their meeting, his mortal superior claims that The Batter was created shortly after he was assigned to The Player when they started the game, meaning that the first time we saw them together was the same room The Player met The Queen. Whether their relationship is genuine (romantic or otherwise) or their creator mimics how two adults talk from a child's perspective is unclear. His meeting with The Queen in this world is a bit different, she happens to reside on the same hall as he does. She tries to talk to The Batter, only for him to pass by her, ignoring her and seemingly disinterested since he knows that she doesn't have any authority in this world. The two acted coldly toward each other after that.
  • For The Player (known as [Insert Name Here]), their view on their former puppet fluctuates especially since they either helped the Batter in his mission or turned on him in the last minute. Since the public revelations about The Batter, they have been questioned by their allies, who wanted to know if the rumors they have heard were true. Having been guided by or seen The Player do good to their world, some of their allies (namely Niko, Pochi of the Go-Getters Club and Tiz Arrior) thought it was unthinkable that the same person would also responsible for destroying another world along with slaying a wife and a child. The Player did confirm their worst fears, but in their defense, they don't really have a choice about it. They explained that even though they can control the Batter's actions, only he can decide if a situation is escapable, as he can disable the "Flee" option, most notably in certain battles. So, being unable to "Flee", they were forced to "purify" the child and the world whether they like to or not (unless they exit the game of course). The only option they have is to side with The Judge or not, but it was only after they destroyed the rest of the world. Whether they themselves are sympathetic towards The Batter depends on their mood for the day.
    • Some of their allies, though sadden but their explanation understands The Player's action and eventually forgive them for their past. Others who were controlled by INH like Stanley and Frisk and as well as those who met INH like Monika were unsurprised by their confession as they have either witness The Player's destructive game-breaking abilities, their pension for being morally reprehensible things or have experienced being railroaded before, so they do understand The Player's defense. Game joked about INH/his User being played by The Batter for once when they are usually the one who is proactive in the destruction front from his experience. ICEY pities the Player for being railroaded like herself and she hopes to make the Batter pay for making The Player sad.
  • For most of the general public (especially those who don't care about current events), the Batter appears as a weird baseball-uniform-wearing guy who takes out ghosts and other bad people and has his own misadventures. For some people who have personal violent encounters with him, he is seen as someone to be feared. To others, The Batter is rumored to be a puppet for people like Junko and Oriko to enact their revenge quest on their enemies. To The Judge and other heroes, they had always suspected The Batter would try to destroy this world one day. While they didn't know it as of this writing, their suspicions are correct. The Batter's True Mission is to "purify" the Trope Pantheon and remove all the flaws within it. All the inconsistencies, the Forever War, the ever-shifting but still idle Main House, the suffering from some of the deities. Everything. The Batter came to this world disconnected from The Player. He tried to contact them, but they were out of reach for him it seems. He hopes to reunite with them to continue their mission together. After all:
"Escaping from
your purpose
is
impossible."

[tup] for the Batter

I don't have a stake in TOH ideas (aside from back up a bit on the hype) but as a general reminder, please update the database spreadsheet when you ascend/move a deity.

This will probably get buried by several posts, but eh

All my fault, you say...? What fault? I daresay it's all thanks to me.

[up][up] I understand, and again, I am not trying to railroad anyone through. The last thing I want to be is a character shill. That's why I wanted further input. I will bring Lumity and Bellhop up again in a few pages with tweeks and probably wait a week afterwards before I really get into starting their profiles. I think the two reasons why I was so quick to bring them up is A) admitted bias. I mean... Just look at my Username and PFP, and B) I was afraid someone else would be waiting to snatch them up and I was really looking forward to doing them so I jumped the gun a bit. Sorry everyone!

Speaking of profiles because I was a giant idiot and made proposals in the exact same post as I planted in the knights, I didn't see any input for them. Thoughts?

[up] Morpho Knight would be enemies with the Lich, given he killed his version of death and possessed his kid. However, Lich may actually avoid him as his abilities may work like the Guardian blood did.

Aside from that I’ve got nothing [tup]

[up] I do agree with that. Morpho is basically instant death for virtually any undead villain. Again, Soul Forgo got one-shotted. The reason I didn't include the Lich is cause I wasn't certain if he was actually undead. I also added Clockwork as an ally due to Morpho helping with Lord English, Doc Scratch, and especially Dark Danny. CW's wishy washy status as an actual undead entity keeps him safe from Morpho.

[up]Would this apply to any super that died as well? We all know how fast and loose comics play with Death. If so, it makes Morpho Knight even worse.

Ha ha ha. What a story, Mark.
