The New World Order of wrestling, brother!

Trios are a common format for Professional Wrestling, either for storylines or matches. Some promotions even have exclusive championships and tournaments for this team format.

This index is about trios. For duos, check Tag Team. For groups of four or more wrestlers, check Power Stable.

  • CMLL and AAA have trio-based world championship belts. The latter also has "Americas" championship belts for trios.
  • Chikara had the King of Trios tournament.
  • Lucha Underground had a trios championship.
  • Not limited to lucha promotions: World Class Championship Wrestling had World Six Man Tag Team Championship belts only defended in three on three tag team matches. Granted, they were inspired by Los Tres Fantasticos but the promotion had no overt lucha libre influences and still relied on tagging rather than lucha libre's in-out rule.
  • FMW had the 6-Man Street Fight Tag Team Titles and the FMW/WEW 6-Man Tag Team Titles
  • New Japan Pro-Wrestling's NEVER divisions include six-man tag belts.
  • Ring of Honor also started a world six-man tag division in order to line up with New Japan and CMLL during their partnerships with them.
  • WWE has had three brands in two different points in its Brand Extension. The first were Raw, SmackDown and an In Name Only ECW; the second are Raw, SmackDown and NXT.
  • In July 2022, AEW introduced the World Trios Championship. This happened a few months after AEW CEO Tony Khan bought Ring of Honor, which already had a six-man belt. The addition of a trios title also aligned AEW with partner promotions NJPW and AAA.
