Sandbox / Bo Boi Boy Character And Elementals

Go To

Editor's note (Black Faith Star): The entries for the titular character of BoBoiBoy initially had his own character-specific page (here and here) before it was merged back with BoBoiBoy for not meeting the (then newly established) size requirement. The section has developed significantly since then, but is in need of major cleanup of grammar, probable shoehorns and context. I finally made this sandbox due to the hero's Elemental Forms suddenly being split to their own page (BoBoiBoy - Elemental Forms) when they're typically listed under him as well.

Awesome!
BoBoiBoy is the titular character of the BoBoiBoy franchise. Initially a normal elementary student who went on a holiday trip to his grandfather's house on Rintis Island, he obtains elemental powers from a Power Sphera named Ochobot. He, alongside his new friends, use their newfound powers to protect Earth.

    BoBoiBoy himself
  • Afraid of Their Own Strength: After gaining Tempest, BoBoiBoy realizes that 3rd tier forms are difficult to control and fears that he will end up becoming like Retak'ka if he can't control his powers. Although he's able to control Rimba, BoBoiBoy is still wary about it to the extent of not wanting Fang to be too close to him in battle.
  • All-Loving Hero: After Adu Du lost Probe due to him being destroyed by Ejo Jo, he was willing to help him fix Probe and be a better person. Even though Adu Du went back to evil, BoBoiBoy still saves the alien, much to his friends' chagrin (that said, Tok Aba does agree that Adu Du is not that evil). This shows that he has a good heart.
  • Alternate Identity Amnesia: When he transforms into BoBoiBoy Fire at night unknowingly. This form would leave in the night to burn the hero's stress, then return for BoBoiBoy to wake up with no memory of his pyrokinetic actions.
  • Berserk Button: BoBoiBoy is generally a gold-hearted kind guy, but there's one button you should never touch. His friends, especially Ochobot, as he will do whatever he can to protect them.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's very protective of his friends, especially Ochobot, but otherwise he's a very kind person. As long as you don't hurt his friends, you'll find that he's a great person to be around.
  • Big Eater: Downplayed. BoBoiBoy does enjoy eating big portions and delicious meals, but he never overeats. This also applies to his Elemental Forms like Water/Ice and Leaf/Thorn/Rimba when they eat to restore their energy.
  • CamelCase: His name is rendered with two camelcases, both B's after the first one being uppercase.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • He often says "Awesome!" (Or in Malay, "Terbaik!") when something cool happens, often coupled with a thumbs up.
    • The Hindi dub for India translates this by coining a new word: "Dhamalastic", a combination of the Hindi dhamaal which means "fun", and the English "fantastic". In contrast, the Tamil dub which airs in the same country just translates this to "super" or "awesome".
  • Character Development:
    • BoBoiBoy in the original series is just your average kid who doesn't like to wait and wants to get things done, though during the series he grows a sense of responsibility.
    • In the sequel series, his Age Lift has made him much more mature and responsible than his younger self, and he knows when it's time to be serious, though is still a teen through and through.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome:
    • Lightly parodied in Season 1 where he and his friends were looking for people to save after having received their powers. The first people they help are an elderly woman selling her food and a man whose fish was stolen by a cat, which already got eaten anyway. Then they helped Tok Aba fend off alien robots from attacking his store.
    • Deconstructed in Season 3, as his reputation as a superhero grew on the island, citizens started asking for more help than BoBoiBoy could provide while he was juggling duties as a student as well, and this would take a toll on him.
  • De-power: After his watch upgraded and reset during the time between the original series and Galaxy, BoBoiBoy lost all of his newfound powers and was reset back to 0. He regains all his elemental powers during the course of Season 1 of Galaxy. He goes through it again during the BoBoiBoy: Movie 2, where Retak'ka absorbs his elemental powers, though he manages to steal them back.
  • Easy Amnesia: The side effect of using the Elemental Split for a long time causes the forms to become forgetful, and BoBoiBoy would gradually lose his memories, including his identity, until they merged back. Debates between elementals regarding which one is the 'real' BoBoiBoy have occured as a result, but merging back apparently restores what he's forgotten in an instant.
    • In the original series, when BoBoiBoy's elementals split to help Tok Aba deliver orders more efficiently, the trio slowly start losing their memories, which ends in Lightning getting captured and manipulated by Adu Du and Probe. The other two still have intact enough memory to tell the rogue elemental that he is one of them, and his catchphrase being spoken triggers Lightning to remember, but only when the three merge back do they fully remember who they (and everyone else) are.
    • Season 2 of Galaxy shows that this trait is still very much intact. When Blaze and Ice are separated for almost two days in Baraju, the two gradually lose their memory. At first, it starts with a case of forgetting their friends' names, but it soon devolves into a serious situation when they end up dueling one another and nearly use their 3rd-tier forms on each other because they couldn't remember who they are. Fortunately, the two are stopped from killing each other outright.
  • Elemental Absorption: His power watch is able to absorb elements, which he isn't initially aware of. Unlike Retak'ka, BoBoiBoy only absorbs small portions of the elements, so the ability doesn't harm him.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: Played With. His eyes glow white when he loses control of his powers, but his eyes show visible fear instead of murderous intent like the usual instances of this trope.
  • Jack of All Stats: BoBoiBoy is this to the rest of his team. He's not as strong as Yaya in terms of physical strength, not as fast as Ying in raw speed, not as resourceful as Gopal or Fang for their special abilities, though through his elements, he is able to fill any position needed depending on the situation due to how varied and flexible his forms are. Need a strong, but quick attacker? Lightning's got you covered. Need something a bit more niche? Leaf is the element for the job, and so on.
  • Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds: BoBoiBoy was close to destroying Baraju due to his two amnesic Elemental Forms, Blaze and Ice, fighting each other and almost becoming Nova and Blizzard to finish each other off, not knowing that their tremendous power endangered his allies' lives and the population of the planet.
  • Mind Rape: Happens when BoBoiBoy uses BoBoiBoy Tempest twice as the result of using his tremendous wind power. It worsens during his second use during his training session due to suddenly remembering his trauma in two previous arcs and his fear of ending up just like Retak'ka, and ends with BoBoiBoy screaming in agony.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade:
    • In the first movie, BoBoiBoy is able to unlock his second tier forms of all of his elemental forms (and unlock two more) as well as the capability to do a Penta Elemental Split (splitting into five instead of just three). However, he loses all this by the start of Galaxy due to his Power Band upgrading and resetting.
    • In the Galaxy series, he unlocks Second Tier forms once again by the end of the first season.
    • In the 2nd movie, he unlocks Fusion Forms.
    • In the 2nd Season of Galaxy, he unlocks 3rd tier forms. However, he's still learning how to tame them.
  • Mundane Utility: He sometimes uses his Elemental Split to help Granddad at the Kokotiam, whether it be to put up a sign, serve food and drinks, or otherwise.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: In season 3 of the original show, he was shocked upon realising that all of the arson incidents were actually his fault.
  • Near-Death Experience: BoBoiBoy tends to have a lot of these while fighting the finale's bosses. He is nearly killed by Bora Ra in the first movie, nearly killed by Captain Vargoba in Galaxy, and again at the hands of Retak'ka in the second movie. He survives all of it, though.
  • Not Himself: How BoBoiBoy feels when he tries to activate Nova and Blizzard. As he lampshades in Issue 20, Blaze and Ice's rampage was not only caused by his memory loss worsening, but the environment in Baraju resulted in the two elements behaving the same as Pyrapi and Mawais when they fought each other in the past.
  • Not So Above It All: While he is often mellow, easy-going and responsible, BoBoiBoy is still not immune to being reckless or silly like many teenagers his age and sometimes enjoys following Gopal's shenanigans.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: 'BoBoiBoy' is not his real name, but actually a nickname. We don't know what his real name is. In Temani Raya, as a toddler, he's also called "Oboi" by his dad and his childhood best friend, which is possibly also a nickname.
  • Parental Abandonment: Downplayed, BoBoiBoy's parents are never seen throughout the series, but they are alive and well. They sent BoBoiBoy to live with his grandfather due to being extremely busy with work. Eventually he is sent to live there permanently and is quite content. Although he remarks that he does miss his parents, he understands that their jobs as ambassadors are important.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Compared to his friends, BoBoiBoy's Elemental Powers are incredibly powerful especially when he uses the 2nd or 3rd tier Elemental Forms. Unfortunately, using his powers on a large scale unwisely can lead to him being controlled by his Elemental Form, causing huge damage around him and potentially triggering a natural disaster. This has happened twice, one by BoBoiBoy Fire/Blaze, whose Unstoppable Rage caused a volcanic eruption on Planet Volcania, and another by BoBoiBoy Tempest, who came close to destroying Windara due to his inability to control his newfound power.
  • Plot Armor: Somehow.
    • He gets knocked out of the sky in "BoBoiBoy Leaf vs the Pirates" by Captain Separo's hammer and crash-lands into a tree, allowing his Leaf form to debut. This kind of impact is not survivable, but the only real consequence this has on him is that his Leaf form is very ditzy and scatterbrained.
    • Vargoba strikes him into space without a helmet in "Light of Hope". He's stranded into space for a considerable amount of time, enough for his body to freeze. By that point there's no chance of surviving, since realistically the harshness of space can kill a person not in an astronaut's suit in mere seconds. Getting exposed to the sun thaws and revives him, however, and reawakens his Solar form.
    • After defeating Vargoba in the same episode, he collapses and de-transforms while in space, and Captain Kaizo has to save him. While he wounds up in a coma for five days, a normal person will still NOT be able to survive THAT much space exposure.
    • After defeating Retak'ka, he falls off a cliff into the icy water, and manages to survive (though he needed to be rescued by his friends). Said cliff is of considerable height, where it's unlikely for a person to survive, realistically speaking, even if you hit the water rather than the ground.
  • Portmanteau: The Hindi dub changes his catchphrase "Terbaik!" to "Dhamalastic!", a combination of the Hindi "dhaamal" ("fun") and the English "fantastic".
  • Post-Victory Collapse:
    • Original show - After BoBoiBoy defeats Au Du in the first season finale, he fainted from exhaustion. But he still leaves a smile on his face, knowing that he saved his friends and Ochobot.
    • Galaxy - Because of his previous injuries prior to reunlocking BoBoiBoy Solar, he falls unconscious and changes back, and wouldn't be able to return to T.A.P.O.P.S if it weren't for Kaizo retrieving him from space. He was in a coma for five days and learned that the station was destroyed.
    • Movie 2 - He collapses from exhaustion after using three fusion forms (FrostFire, Glacier, and Supra) in quick succession to defeat Retak'ka, falling into the water at the bottom of the dam, and his friends have to swim down to rescue him.
  • Raised by Grandparents: Downplayed, BoBoiBoy only visited his grandfather, Tok Aba, during the holidays, before he eventually came to live with him. They had trouble recognising each other in the first episode but had maintained a close bond nonetheless. From Season 2 onwards, BoBoiBoy permanently lives with him since his pre-teenhood and onwards.
  • Red Baron: The Crystal Miners acknowledge him as "Master of Seven Elements", the title previously owned (or self-proclaimed) by Retak'ka.
  • Redeeming Replacement: To Retak'ka, who became an Omnicidal Maniac supervillain due to being Drunk with Power. BoBoiBoy uses his power to protect Earth and the galaxy from threats and takes care to avoid falling to the same fate as his predecessor.
  • Series Mascot: BoBoiBoy is by far the most popular character in the franchise. For a time, the Official Instagram posted ministories around BoBoiBoy and his elements, to very popular acclaim.
  • Signature Headgear: His orange dinosaur cap, which has white spikes on top, yellow spots on the sides and a mouth-like rim placed opposite to the bill. It sported his lightning insignia even before he got superpowers, and each elemental sports the same hat with key alterations being the color and elemental symbol corresponding with each element. Some of them have their own style of wearing it too.
  • Stock Shōnen Hero: BoBoiBoy is a compassionate young boy who gains Elemental Powers from a Power Sphere named Ochobot and is determined to protect Earth and later the galaxies from bad aliens. He is the son of a legendary galactic superhero who is mostly absent during his teenage years due to his duties and is also considered to be a Superior Successor to the previous Seven Elemental Masters. While he does have moments of being silly, both as himself and as an Elemental Superhero, BoBoiBoy is an intelligent student and mellow individual. As the story progresses, he leans more to being a deconstruction of this trope as he gets stressed due to his difficulty in juggling his heroic and student duties and controlling his new-found 3rd tier form that can potentially corrupt him which causes him to be afraid of his own powers.
  • Superior Successor: Deconstructed. While it can't be denied that BoBoiBoy will surpass all his predecessors as a wielder of Elemental Powers, Season 2 of Galaxy shows that he isn't immune to the terrifying consequences of being unable to control the third tiers of the elemental forms, which almost makes him Drunk with Power and close to destroying everything around him. Issue 22 shows that BoBoiBoy is still unable to control Tempest due to his repressed trauma, which almost corrupted him.
  • Split-Personality Merge: After splitting, the elementals merge back to form the whole BoBoiBoy. They must do this quickly to avoid memory loss, which is the adverse effect of staying split for too long.
  • Split-Personality Takeover: Although he is mostly able to control his power, his elemental forms have taken over him before:
    • When BoBoiBoy transforms into Fire for the first time in the original series, due to stress during the night and accidentally causes many fires in Rintis Island, he has no idea what he does as Fire.
    • He almost loses control of his powers again when he becomes Tempest in Galaxy Season 2. Luckily, Kuputeri is able to calm him before he is fully under the control of his elemental powers for a second time.
  • Stumbled Into the Plot: He encounters Probe stealing Tok Aba's cocoa by chance and had the power sphere who'd grant him and his friends superpowers follow him home as a result. Mechamato Movie apparently subverts this with the reveal that his father planned Ochobot to be with his son.
  • Transformation Trinket: One of the abilities his power watch gives him is the ability to turn into other elementals to use their powers.
  • Tomato in the Mirror: Over the course of season 3, several fires occurred in Rintis Island. By episode 15, it's apparent that they were incidental, so he and his friends decide to investigate. Then it's revealed that the mysterious person causing the fire is BoBoiBoy himself, specifically BoBoiBoy Fire, a form he transformed into when he fell asleep and has no memory of.
  • Unstable Powered Child: Although BoBoiBoy is mostly stable and controllable, he still has a few moments where his power activates against his will, mainly due to stress and despair like how he unlocks Fire and Tempest for the first time.
    • In the original series, chronic stress from his superhero duties leads to him becoming Fire against his will.
    • Bo Boi Boy is still not able to control his Tempest powers, causing him to lean heavily into this whenever he tries to activate it. It gets worse when Bo Boi Boy starts training to tame his 3rd Tier Form, as bad memories flash into his mind and his fear takes over him. This results in an agonizing experience for him.
  • Weak, but Skilled: Galaxy has his power reset back to Lightning, Wind and Earth in their base stages. Despite using a weaker set of powers against bigger threats, he is able to hold his own and shows exceptional mastery over his abilities. This goes even when regaining old abilities and unlocking new ones.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He's afraid of balloons popping, which Adu Du exploits in episode 6 to get him to say what the formula to Tok Aba's cocoa is, using the balloons popping as a torture device.
  • Youthful Freckles: Several scenes in Movie 2 show that the young hero has freckles over his cheeks.

2nd tier Elemental Forms
...you have a strong will. Your will is stronger than Retak'ka and mine. All this time you held 7 Elemental Powers, but those powers never corrupted you.
Hang Kasa's Rousing Speech to BoBoiBoy
The Elemental Forms (or elementals) are the personifications of BoBoiBoy's Elemental Powers. He initially starts out with 3 before gaining 4 more in Season 3 and the first movie. The 2nd movie reveals that each elemental power initially belonged to an original wielder from outer space.
    In General
Tropes which apply to all or more than one of the elementals.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The official Monsta social media accounts post about the daily life of the Elemental Forms when they are not being used in the battle. The most prominent mini stories like "How To Be Popular" features BoBoiBoy Wind, "Taking Care of an Alien Plant" features BoBoiBoy Leaf and "Experiment with Light and Leaf" features BoBoiBoy Light, Leaf and Fire.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Hang Kasa states that he's surprised that BoBoiBoy could wield all seven elemental powers without them destroying him. Kuputeri also warns that if BoBoiBoy is unable to control his power, especially his 3rd tier forms, the elemental power itself will take over him. Which brings the question, do they mean that BoBoiBoy can be power-hungry if he becomes unstable? Or do his Elemental Forms actually have their own consciousness instead of coming from BoBoiBoy's Literal Split Personality? Judging from cases when BoBoiBoy accidentally transforms into Fire without his knowledge due to his stress in the original series, it is possible that his powers are sentient all along.
  • Color-Coded Elements: The colors of the elementals' attacks tend to match their clothes, and each Elemental Power has an individually colored aura when absorbed by Ochobot.
    • The color coding is more apparent in Galaxy; while Wind, Earth and Lightning respectively wore yellow, red and orange clothes in the original series, they were altered to wear blue, brown and yellow in Galaxy to match with their elements.
    • Fire wears red while Water wears light cyan. Their attacks follow Fire Is Red and Water Is Blue respectively.
    • Leaf and Light first debuted in the sequel series. Leaf is a Green Thumb who wears green, Light wears white with gold highlights while dealing damage with light.
  • The Comically Serious: Lightning/Thunderstorm as well as Light/Solar possess personalities more serious than that of other elementals, so should either of them be involved in comedic moments, they tend to play the straight man.
  • Creepy Child: Downplayed. The elemental forms can be downright dangerous when provoked and even uncontrollable when using a huge amount of elemental power. But BoBoiBoy is a humble, calm and kind-hearted young teenager and they are still part of his personality.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Most of the Second Tier forms incorporate black and dark color schemes, but they are all for the force of good.
  • Death from Above:
    • Thunderstorm once caused a storm of red solid lightning to fall on an enemy. Fire can levitate with his fireballs to make them rain from above, while his 2nd-tier form Blaze summoned a meteor on Bora Ra in the first movie.
    • A lot of Elemental Splits end up descending during their finishing attacks.
  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Fire is prone to not being so bright due to his reckless behaviour. He accidentally causes several burning incidents out of carelessness, and he once attempted to form a combo attack with Water, who is quick to point out how combining a fireball with water was never going to work after the attack failed.
    • Leaf is casually subject to making daft decisions due to being the naive Cloud Cuckoolander, such as trying to eat a space mosquito with fly traps that are much smaller than the bug itself.
  • Disappears into Light: Upon having their power absorbed by Retak'ka, an elemental personification of BoBoiBoy disappears into a glowing light as they collapse and fade into nothing.
  • Discard and Draw: BoBoiBoy can pick 3 of his 7 elements to switch out and replace his standard Elemental Split. It comes with a drawback that if one form is in its base stage, everyone else is summoned in their base stage and can't instantly join the battle evolved.Example
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Played with for Thorn and Solar. They are the 2nd-tier forms for Leaf and Light respectively, but BoBoiBoy unlocked Thorn and Solar without having unlocked their base elemental forms prior. They get reunlocked later as the hero went through a De-power after the movie's events.
  • Elemental Eye Colors: Each of the 2nd-tier elemental forms come with eye colors which correspond with their respective powers (as well as their clothes). Though in the original series, Fire and Water, both first-tier elementals, both had crimson and cyan eyes respectively.
  • Elemental Powers: BoBoiBoy's main power. He is able to transform and split himself into a total of seven different elemental forms, though he had only started out with three. He later gained the ability to fuse forms to get even more powerful and different elemental powers.
  • Elemental Personalities: He can split into counterparts that wield a respective element, and each of them has its own distinct personality.
    • Earth/Quake: The most sensible and responsible out of all the elements, often ending up as their leader. It's noted that Earth/Quake is closest to BoBoiBoy's original personality.
    • Lightning/Thunderstorm: Serious and a bit of a lone wolf. He has a slight temper, but he isn't as explosive as Fire/Blaze.
    • Wind/Cyclone: Cheerful and playful, always ready to have a bit of fun.
    • Fire/Blaze: Prone to mood swings and has a huge temper. Also prone to exploding out of anger when the right buttons are pushed. Was formerly riddled with anxiety before becoming more hot-headed.
    • Water/Ice: A chill personality who is calm and relaxed, though he did tend to be a bit lazy.
    • Leaf/Thorn: A childish, naive, Cloud Cuckoo Lander who sporadically does random things for the fun of it. He's less brave than the other forms and is prone to being a bit of a crybaby.
    • Light/Solar: The Ace personality who is notoriously intelligent and powerful, though tends to get too cocky because of this.
  • Elemental Punch:
    • Earth/Quake's fists are encased with rock gauntlets for powerful punches, and he even releases a punch made out of rock out of the ground.
    • Wind can make gusty uppercuts while his 2nd-tier form Cyclone surrounds his fists with small drill-like tornadoes.
    • In the sequel series, Fire is capable of deploying ranged punches and kicks wreathed in flames.
  • Elemental Rivalry: Funnily enough, the rivalry between elements is not your typical Water vs Fire deal, but instead, Fire/Blaze and Lightning/Thunderstorm have an ongoing rivalry about who is stronger. Leaf and Fire tend to be at odds with each other too, though it's much more lighthearted.
  • Elemental Weapon: When they aren't simply embodying elements as attacks, some elementals form weapons out of their elements. Blaze has flaming chakrams, Ice has used an Ice Cannon and an Ice Bow-and-Arrow, and Lightning/Thunderstorm has used multiple designs of lightning-based blades. Weapons of Elemental Fusions incorporate effects of both involved elements into said weapon, such as FrostFire's bow of fire and ice.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Downplayed. When splitted, Elemental Forms tend to call each other with their form name. However, his allies and enemies still call them as BoBoiBoy no matter what kind a forms that he used.
  • Fire/Ice Duo: Blaze and Ice get along very well in their first debuts in the movie, forming powerful combo attacks on the enemy. When the two of them perform an Elemental Fusion they become FrostFire.
  • Fire/Water Juxtaposition: Water is unlocked by BoBoiBoy being at peace, as opposed by Fire being formed out of his accumulating stress. The two elements also tend to clash in personality.
  • Flash Step: Due to the quick nature of their elements, both Thunderstorm and Solar are capable of moving distances in the blink of an eye, disappearing and reappearing between places in a flash of light.
  • Fusion Dance: Two elementals strike a very simple pose involving grabbing each other's right hand in a short of 'handshake' in order to do an Elemental Fusion.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom:
    • The eyes of Thunderstorm and Light/Solar glow whenever they use their strongest attacks.
    • The eyes of the rest of the Elemental Forms also glow whenever they transform into their 3rd tier forms or Fusion forms.
  • Laughing Mad:
    • Wind was already joyous, but eating biscuits contaminated with Adu Du's Chemical X amplified this aspect immensely to the extent that he was laughing mad with joy.
    • Fire is prone to laughing maniacally at times, likely due to his playful and chaotic nature.
    • A singular instance from Leaf when a dead snake fell on him, he screams, then it fades into a laugh out of fear, before he screams again.
  • Lightning/Fire Juxtaposition: Lightning/Thunderstorm and Fire/Blaze have a rivalry about who is stronger. They both adopt aggressive attacks, but the former is more of a serious loner while the latter is more explosive and wrathful.
  • Lightning/Wind Juxtaposition: Played with. The elemental hero's lightning and wind counterparts unlock each of their Next Tier Power Ups through rage and laughter respectively. In their duel against each other, both of them appear equally swift and strong. However, Thunderstorm fought Cyclone that time just to distract him so he could be brought back to normal. They're otherwise considered to be a close duo, similarly to that of Blaze with Ice and Thorn with Solar.
  • Literal Split Personality: When using Elemental Split, BoBoiBoy's personality ends up getting split as well. As a result, all the Elements are parts of of BoBoiBoy's personality.
  • Multiform Balance: All of BoBoiBoy's Elements have their own strength and weaknesses, all complimenting each other.
    • BoBoiBoy Lightning/Thunderstorm: On paper, he should be a Lightning Bruiser, but in practice, he's a Fragile Speedster which borderlines on being a Glass Cannon; hitting the enemy with hyper aggressive attacks and overwhelming speed.
    • BoBoiBoy Wind/Cyclone: A Fragile Speedster, though is able to fly and is more of The Lightfooted, dodging attacks with grace and ease.
    • BoBoiBoy Earth/Quake: An element specializing on being a Stone Wall with shades of being a Mighty Glacier. He focuses on defending and protecting others, though is the slowest of all the elements.
    • BoBoiBoy Fire/Blaze: An aggressive Glass Cannon whose power rivals Lightning in terms of raw power, though focuses more on extensive firepower for damage than complimenting with speed.
    • BoBoiBoy Water/Ice: A Jack of All Stats element who fills the roles the other elements can't. The flexibility of the element makes it easy to catch up to the other elements. Though Ice tends to be more of a Long-Range Fighter with his Ice attacks, falling into a more defensive/support role.
    • BoBoiBoy Leaf/Thorn: A Squishy Wizard who makes up for their weak physical power with creative and unconventional attacks like traps and snares.
    • BoBoiBoy Light/Solar : The Infinity +1 Element which is significantly more powerful than the rest of BoBoiBoy's elemental forms. He is a Long-Range Fighter who blasts the opponent with highly destructive beams of light that can hurt friend and foe alike. Light/Solar has the abilities of a Lightning Bruiser but his own pride and hubris prevent him from using everything but his attack. Usually comes in the form of an 11th-Hour Superpower.
  • Next Tier Power-Up: Over time, BoBoiBoy unlocks the 2nd-tier power of his elementals, each possessing more powerful attacks. The 2nd movie reveals the existence of 3rd-tier elemental powers which BoBoiBoy has unlock Tempest and Rimba in season 2 of Galaxy.
  • Nice Mean And In Between: Lightning/Thunderstorm and Fire/Blaze are mean since they are most aggressive form with intimidating aura, quite short-tempered and often use deadliest attack to finish their battle. Wind/Cyclone, Water/Ice and Light/Solar are In-Between since they are calm-headed, but still can be arrogant or aggressive in their own ways. Earth/Quake and Leaf/Thorn are nice, the former is level-headed and responsible leader while the latter is a goofy and affable one who less-brave compare to the other Elemental Forms.
  • Power Floats: Fire and Water are able to levitate (although the latter is more Not Quite Flight), and them having Technicolor Eyes despite being first-tier elementals (who usually sport BoBoiBoy's normal brown eyes) may indicate them being more powerful than the average elemental. Light/Solar also floats, and he's implied to be the most powerful elemental.
  • Psychoactive Powers:
    • Some elemental forms were unlocked via emotion; Thunderstorm when enraged, Cyclone when overjoyed, Quake in the need to save his friends, Fire when under pressure and Water when calmness is achieved.
    • Fire/Blaze's power tends to grow even stronger when he's angry. When he's told Adu Du and Probe hurt his friends, he's capable of forming a fireball 10 times his size to throw at them.
    • Even in general, BoBoiBoy's powers grow stronger when he gets angry. Hang Kasa exploits this by making sure BoBoiBoy thought he had died, which leads to BoBoiBoy unlocking Elemental Fusion.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm and BoBoiBoy Fire/Blaze are both aggressive, powerful and accompanied by blood red eyes (Thunderstorm) or crimson (Fire/Blaze).
  • Red Is Heroic: BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm and BoBoiBoy Fire/Blaze both sport red in their outfits, the latter more than the former. They are heroic but also aggressive.
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: Elemental Forms that were once "evil" or berserk (Thunderstorm, Cyclone, Fire) still retain the flaws they had even when fighting with the heroes. Thunderstorm is still merciless, Cyclone still toys with his opponents, and Fire is still prone to losing his temper.
  • Sentient Phlebotinum: Heavily implied. The warning from two previous holders of the elemental powers could be true that BoBoiBoy's power can takes over him if he can't control it. This hints that all elemental forms have their own respective consciousness, just like the cases on BoBoiBoy Fire and BoBoiBoy Tempest.
  • Smart Jerk and Nice Moron: According to social media posts, Light/Solar gets along well with Leaf/Thorn despite their opposing personalities; the former is a mildly arrogant brainiac and the latter a Kindhearted Simpleton. In season 2 of Galaxy, their dynamic becomes more prominent when they initially butt heads due to their differences, but they eventually come to terms with them, leading them to unlock the elemental fusion form named "BoBoiBoy Sori".
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: BoBoiBoy's first instinct in a fight is usually to use Lightning, Fire or Light and their evolved forms.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Downplayed. While BoBoiBoy is still a capable combatant when using any kind of Elemental Form, Lightning/Thunderstorm and Fire/Blaze are not evil while they are his most aggressive and battle-oriented Forms and have no problem using violence or deadly attacks as their first options to defeat their enemies.
  • Tron Lines: Once evolved, the designs on their clothes that represent their element (e.g the lightning on the jacket or the fire on the cap) glow in the dark. The best example of this is during the fight against Ejo Jo, Bora Ra, and Retak'ka which all take place in a dark area.
  • Zerg Rush: If Retak'ka's claim that splitting makes the Elemental Powers weaker, his Penta and Hepta splits become this. In the rare instances they are used, each form will attack in quick succession to chip away at the enemy and give the next attacker an opening to strike, eventually overwhelming the opponent.

    BoBoiBoy Lightning

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/2_lightning.png
The first of the 3 Elemental Forms unlocked in the first episode. An aggressive, serious and edgy-looking Form who uses swords as his primary weapon of choice. He gains his 2nd tier form called BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm in Episode 6 out of anger after Adu Du exploits his fear of popping balloons. His previous master was Satriantar Ratna, the Gur'latan Empress.
  • Axe-Crazy: Downplayed. Thunderstorm's attacking style is downright brutal and savage, almost manic sometimes, but he's aloof and not crazy...probably.
  • Being Tortured Makes You Evil: Downplayed, Thunderstorm was definitely angry after being tortured, but he believed he was friends with the villains because his memory was worsening. Once his memory returns, he becomes good again.
  • Berserk Button: Lightning/Thunderstorm hates being underestimated. To the point that, in the original series, he even challenges Cyclone to a fight after Cyclone mocks him as "weak".
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Adu Du manipulates an amnesic BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm by claiming he is his real best friend. He renames Thunderstorm as "Ada Da" and orders him to attack his comrades and the rest of the Elemental Forms. Luckily, he snaps back to normal after Probe accidentally mentions his catchphrase.
  • Butt-Monkey: Being the oldest Elemental Form who is often used by BoBoiBoy, Lightning/Thunderstorm often suffers the unluckiest moments in the series. Examples include being kidnapped and brainwashed by Adu Du in the original series, often being provoked by the other Elemental Forms like Cyclone and Leaf, suffering massive Power Incontinence during a fight against Jugglenaut, then being absorbed by the main villains twice.
  • Chain Lightning: Some of his attacks jump from target to target, especially if he summons his Lightning Sword to use as a lightning rod.
  • Criminal Amnesiac: Thunderstorm's debut in the original series came from Lightning being brought past his Rage Breaking Point, but because he was amnesiac (from the prolonged Triple Split), the villains lied that they were his friends and got him to attack his actual friends. His memory does return afterwards.
  • Double Weapon: Thunderstorm wields a double-ended "Thunder Spear" in the movie, then his "Thunder Blade" in Galaxy became a double-bladed lightning weapon.
  • Dual Wielding: He frequently wields two lightning swords at once, and the two blades of his weapon in Galaxy can split in the middle to become two swords wielded simultaneously.
  • Eye-Obscuring Hat: Since the bill of his cap faces forward, his serious moments (as well as some promotional material) have it loom over his eyes.
  • Fast as Lightning: Obviously. His Flash Step move is called "Lightning Speed".
  • Glass Cannon: He's extremely powerful and quick, though can easily be knocked down if caught.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He is as fast as he is powerful.
  • Lightning Can Do Anything: Averted for the most part, his ability has seen seldom use outside of typical combat, but there are some exceptions:
    • Him giving the Crazy Cat an electric shock (and 3 of Yaya's biscuits beforehand) not only made the cat docile, but also heal him of his one scarred eye.
    • Subverted in trivia revealing that he is incapable of charging electronic devices, and they've tried it already.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Fitting with his aloof and seriousness, Lightning/Thunderstorm default expression is a constant frown.
  • Power Incontinence: In the sequel series, he was summoned too early, and BoBoiBoy kept switching back between his original self and Thunderstorm. This kept interrupting Thunderstorm's attacks on Jugglenaut.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Subverted, his debut had him spawn black clothes with red lightning markings and a Death Glare after being brought past his Rage Breaking Point. However, he was only "evil" because the villains exploited his Laser-Guided Amnesia, and he regains his good allegiance once he regains his memories.
  • The Resenter: Out of all Elemental Forms, Lightning/Thunderstorm is the one who still hold his hatred toward Adu Du after being kidnapped, tortured and brainwashed by him. During Ejo Jo's first invasion, Thunderstorm is visibly annoyed toward Quake order to save Adu Du. In Sori Arc, Thunderstorm expression clearly show that his hatred toward Adu Du is not faded.
  • Shock and Awe: If it isn't already obvious, Lightning/Thunderstorm's power is electricity.
  • So Proud of You: He has twice a moment where he act like typical proud older brother toward Elemental Forms. In Original Season, he praise Earth for succeeding stopped Mukalakus despite not yet gain 2nd tier form. In Galaxy Season 2, Thunderstorm praise Thorn for his quick act to save Solar and Ying falling on cliff.
  • Temporarily a Villain: Due to his worsening memory, Thunderstorm easily believed the bad guys were his friends and became a villain during his debut episode as a result. He becomes good again once his memories return.
  • When He Smiles: Despite always frown, Lightning/Thunderstorm does has moment where he show his happy, proud or a gratitude smile toward the others or with other Elemental Form.

    BoBoiBoy Wind

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Cyclone

3nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Tempest

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3_wind.png
The second of the 3 Elemental Forms unlocked in the first episode. He's playful, free-spirited, and he sometimes toys with his opponents for fun. He gains his 2nd tier form BoBoiBoy Cyclone in Episode 11 out of elation, due to being infected by Adu Du's Chemical X, causing his emotions to go haywire. In the "Windara Arc" of Galaxy Season 2, he is the first elemental form to gain his 3rd tier from, BoBoiBoy Tempest. His previous master was Kuputeri, current Queen of Windara.
  • Animal Motif: In the Windara arc, BoBoiBoy Cyclone is associated with the butterfly. Butterflies symbolise change, hope and transformation. Cyclone becomes the last hope of his allies to save Windara and forces himself to fight against Karantular despite being fully aware of how weakened he is. This leads Cyclone to transform into Tempest as the only way to save everyone. Although he doesn't have an appearance similar to a butterfly, the different colors on the sides of his scarf is similar to butterflies' dorsal and vertical wing patterns.
  • Blood Knight: Sometimes, his excitement to fight is apparent. It becomes prominent when he upgrades to 2nd tier and 3rd tier. In both cases, he also becomes temporarily Drunk with Power.
    • As Cyclone, due to Adu Du's Chemical X, he becomes more excited fighting and playing around with Adu Du and Super Probe and later provokes BoBoiBoy Thunderstorm to fight him after mocking him as weak.
    • As Tempest, he declares beating up Karantular as "playtime".
  • Blow You Away: Wind/Cyclone/Tempest's main power is manipulating the air.
  • Chemically-Induced Insanity: Wind ingests Adu Du's Chemical X which the latter disguised as an ingredient for Yaya's biscuits. Consuming one makes his emotions go haywire, and eating more amplifies his "joy" immensely. Wind's excessive laughter from the serum is what pushes him to unlock his Next Tier Power-Up, Cyclone.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Wind occasionally gives sarcastic remarks in hopeless situations, among the lines of "Okay, I'm going home" and "We are so dead".
  • Demoted to Extra: Downplayed. Wind/Cyclone is given less prominence in subsequent appearances since Act 3 of Galaxy and Thorn even took his place in future Elemental Splits more often. However, he does get more focus in issues where he is given bigger roles.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Tempest's normal eyes are light blue with diamond-shaped cyan pupil.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • Two promotional images Galaxy Season 2 feature him with a blue butterfly. Butterflies represent change and transformation. This foreshadows him becoming the first Elemental Form to unlock his 3rd tier.
    • Right after Cyclone use his "Cyclone Pull" to defeat Karantular by forcing him control a massive vortex, his body start to glow a white light. An early sign of his transformation into Tempest before he sucked into the vortex.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: BoBoiBoy Tempest wears a white and blue outfit with gold highlights and a blue diamond ring motif. He also wears a long white scarf which makes his appearance more angelic compared to Kuputeri and Retak'ka. As Tempest is the first elemental form who gains his 3rd tier form, it's very fitting.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: As Tempest, his hair change to dark blue.
  • Razor Wind: Cyclone can fire boomerangs called Wind Discs that are sharp enough to shave off Mukalakus' armor.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: He has a very long scarf as Tempest, and he's absolutely dangerous once BoBoiBoy unlocks him for the first time in Windara.
  • Sky Surfing: Cyclone has a hoverboard that he uses to stay aloft, but since it runs on wind power, the sky's the limit to how high he can fly.
  • Support Party Member: He is mostly used to assist other forms by blowing the enemy away to keep them at bay, obscure their vision, create shields, and give everyone an opening to attack. His tornadoes also mix with other elements to create sandstorms, fire tornadoes, and other more devastating attacks.
  • Technicolor Wind: The titular hero's wind elemental's attacks are typically depicted as light blue, but during one instance when he was under strong emotional influence, the growing tornado which barricaded around him turns purple, signifying an abnormal amount of strength in his power. Moments later, BoBoiBoy Wind unlocks his 2nd-tier form, BoBoiBoy Cyclone. When Cyclone become Tempest for the first time, the vortex around Windara Royal Castle turn into black, symbolize of Tempest immense power and mental instability.
  • Tornado Move: One of Wind's main attacks is to create a large tornado, which he sometimes uses as a barricade around him or a mode of transport before he got his hoverboard as Cyclone. When he becomes Tempest for the first time, he controls a massive cyclone to defeat Karantular in Windara, which results in him getting mind-raped.

    BoBoiBoy Earth

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Quake

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1_earth.png
Click here to see Quake's Earth Golem
The third of the 3 Elemental Forms unlocked in the first episode. He's a responsible and down-to-earth elemental whose personality is closest to the original BoBoiBoy, and he acts as the leader of the Elemental Forms. In episode 13, he gains his 2nd tier form BoBoiBoy Quake out of the will to protect his friends during his battle against Adu Du in Mukalakus battle robot. His previous master was Hang Kasa.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: His main power is manipulating earth. He can punch the ground to make bits of earth stick out of the ground or create holes, encase his fists in rock gauntlets, control golems and more.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • When BoBoiBoy unlocks his Earth powers in the first episode, Tok Aba mistakes it for an earthquake. Come to the last episode of the first season, guess what element he unlocks? Quake.
    • The first movie shows Quake is able to summon crystal golems on the floating island, the reason being that there are crystals on that island. The second movie confirms that Crystal is his soon to-be 3rd tier form, his predecessor Hang Kasa gained the power from a Power Sphere named "Crystalbot".
  • Gemstone Assault: The first movie has him summon crystal golems because the floating island they were on had crystals underground. The second movie reveals that Crystal is indeed the third-tier form of his power, though he has yet to unlock it.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: Quake's main color scheme is gold. He is the leader of all the forms, has the most diverse abilities, and is BoBoiBoy's most powerful element that does not cause collateral damage like Fire or Solar. He's also noticeably the only element not to suffer from Power Incontinence in the form of going berserk or lacking control.
  • Golem: Quake can summon earth golems that emerge from the ground. They mimic his motions to form Megaton Punches in battle.
  • Hat of Authority: Only Earth/Quake wears his hat backwards to show he is the closest to the original. No other non-fusion form wears their hat in this manner often being forward or sideways.
  • The Leader: He tends to take the role of a leader when present, at least with the other Elemental Forms. After all, he's the closest to BoBoiBoy's original personality.
  • Mighty Glacier: Strong defensive-wise with heavy attacks, although he is arguably the slowest out of all the elements.
  • Only Sane Man: Elemental Forms are often in pairs of two who compliment and contrast each other in terms of personality, strengths and weaknesses. He is the least flawed of them all and often acts the leader during an Elemental Split.
  • Power Fist: Quake is equipped with two pairs of rock gauntlets to enhance his offensive power and a device for controlling his Golem.
  • Rock Beats Laser: Also in a literal sense. Quake's rock golem can block Mukalakus' lasers. The golem then walks towards the robot before punching it into the sky.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: His eyes change to gold when he turns into his 2nd tier, BoBoiBoy Quake.
  • Team Dad: Every time he is summoned along with the other Elemental Forms, taking a position of authority is Earth/Quake's role. Especially when some of them argue or do silly things in the middle of a battle or mission. In Episode 18 of Galaxy, when Earth is not present, the split will be very unproductive if their leader is one of the less serious forms like Leaf. Once again Leaf is in charge in Episode 22, which causes Earth (who is not the leader then) to slip up and make errors more frequently.

    BoBoiBoy Fire

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Blaze

3rd Tier: BoBoiBoy Nova (incomplete)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4_fire.png
The 4th Elemental Form who was awakened in episode 15 of Season 3. A Mood-Swinger with an unpredictable personality with bad-boy-esque style. In the first movie, he gains his 2nd tier form BoBoiBoy Blaze after Ochobot grants him a needed upgrade to defeat Bora Ra. In the "Baraju Arc" in Galaxy Season 2, he almost unlocks his 3rd Tier form BoBoiBoy Nova during his fight against an equally amnesic BoBoiBoy Ice, but Fang stops him from transforming before he could endanger everyone. His previous master was Pyrapi, a tribe chief and Warmaster.
  • Ancestral Weapon: Issue 21 revealed that his "Fire Chakram" was previously used by Pyrapi in past.
  • Ax-Crazy: While he's already wrathful, Fire/Blaze at his worse is unstable and dangerous. If BoBoiBoy activates him while under stress, he can be blinded by rage and savagely attack his opponent without concern for the safety of people around him. Exaggerated in Issue 20 due to his amnesia, to the point where he's hell-bent on destroying an amnesiac Ice by attempting to transform into Nova.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: In the original series, Fire was prone to powerful mood swings, swapping from being cheerful and happy to enraged and angry the next.
  • Breakout Character: He was one of the secondary elemental powers from the original series. When his popularity grew, he was given more prominent roles such as being more featured in the first movie and even being on the front of the poster. He is also brought back early into Galaxy and given a much larger role in the second movie (along with sidelining Thunderstorm). Notably, he shares his newly acquired spotlight with Water/Ice.
  • Breath Weapon: One of Blaze's moves is fire breath named "Flame Burst". He also can control the scale of fire that he spouts.
  • Butt-Monkey: While not as bad as Lightning/Thunderstorm, Fire/Blaze sometimes suffers unlucky moments, mostly as a result of his reckless behavior :
    • In the Original Season, whenever Fire uses his power to unleash his stress during the night, it often causes a disaster around him, such as when he accidentally burns Mr. Kumar's ice cream stand and chicken coop. This results in the citizens thinking that he is a crazy arsonist.
    • In BoBoiBoy Galaxy, the other Elemental Forms will punish Fire/Blaze whenever he does something silly or unthinkable that annoys them. Examples of this include Lightning electrocuting Fire after Fire boasts to him about his power, Wind giving Fire a Death Glare after Fire accidentally blows his fireball at his face, and Quake hitting his head with a rock gauntlet after Blaze ruins their tom yum during a cooking contest.
  • Came Back Strong: When BoBoiBoy reawakens BoBoiBoy Fire in Volcania, Fire shows that he is more powerful and flexible compared to his younger self during the original series. Due to his anger at Fang's team, Fire is able to trigger the eruption inside the volcano.
  • Casting Gag: During his debut episode in Original Season, Fire mention one of his activities to unleashed his stress was to entertain the chickens by play juggling his fire balls. In same episode, Gopal turn bottles into fried chickens to entertain Fire to make him calm down. This actually a reference Nur Fathiah Diaz (BoBoiBoy Voice Actress) previous role in Upin & Ipin, where she voiced the titular character and their favorite food is any kind of chicken dishes especially fried chicken.
  • The Dreaded: All the Elemental Forms are feared by their enemies, but Fire/Blaze deserves a special mention due to his chaotic nature. Fire/Blaze becomes so dangerous when BoBoiBoy activates him while he is under stress or suffering from temporary amnesia to the point where he almost uses his 3rd tier form to "destroy" Ice in Issue 20.
  • Energy Ring Attack: BoBoiBoy Fire pulls a move like this on his Evil Knockoff BoBoiBot. He sets hoops on fire and sends them flying towards BoBoiBot, who is then restrained by them tightening around him. BoBoiBoy Fire proceeds to make them hotter, causing his robotic opponent to malfunction.
  • Fireball Eyeballs: Flames are visible in his eyes when he's particularly ticked off.
  • Fire Balls: His primary form of attack as a fire elemental. He may make dozens of them to levitate and then rain down on opponents, or summon one 10 times his size to do the job instead. Normally, he uses regular sized fireballs in combat to throw at enemies, with the likelihood of exploding or at least setting things on fire.
  • Glass Cannon: Fire/Blaze is one of the most powerful of the elements, though he virtually has no defenses, making him easy to knock down.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite being portrayed as chaotic and more savage than Thunderstorm, Fire/Blaze still has BoBoiBoy's remorseful side. After Fang reminds him to control himself after calling out his action almost accidentally killing everyone, Blaze shows that he still can't get over his worst memory where he almost accidentally injured innocents in the original series due to his uncontrollable wrath at BoBoiBot and instantly accept Ice's forgiveness since he provoked Blaze before their fight.
  • Hot-Blooded: Extremely so. He is more amiable when playful, but he's passionate regardless of his mood.
  • Hot Paint Job: Blaze's outfit includes a glowing flame motif on his jacket and shorts.
  • Limp and Livid: The amnesic Blaze does a head down, everything limp, lurching like a marionette with broken strings pose in Issue 20 while being overwhelmed by the amnesic Ice during their fight against each other in Baraju due to their worsening memory loss. Along with his deadly fury with his eyes starting to glow because he's about to transform into BoBoiBoy Nova, this makes him become really creepy.
  • Mad Eye: Blaze's right eyes bugs out when he declares a second round with Ice in Baraju, complete with his iris starting to glow. It is a side effect of him being Drunk with Power after using a huge scale of his fire's power.
  • Mood-Swinger: He first appears to BoBoiBoy's friends with Fireball Eyeballs of anger before greeting them with an ecstatic smile 10 seconds later. Reminding him that fire is dangerous to play with tends to make him flip to a protest of rage. Getting distracted by something funny makes him laugh, as well as stabilise his fire powers.
  • My Blood Runs Hot: This post implies that Blaze always has high body temperature.
  • Playing with Fire: If it isn't obvious already, Fire/Blaze uses fire as their main power.
  • Pyromaniac: Implied, Fire explains that his nightly activities were intended to relieve BoBoiBoy's stress, and playing around with his fire powers was the way to do it. BoBoiBoy Fire's first episodic appearance of bouncing around fireballs in an empty sewer, laughing and exclaiming "Burn! Burn!" leaves the impression that he really loves burning things.
  • Rings of Death: Blaze uses flaming chakrams which give his firepower extra destructive ability, such as slicing through rock.
  • Ring of Fire: When BoBoiBoy became increasingly stressed from BoBoiBot's taunting, a ring of fire appears around him before he finally gives in and transforms into BoBoiBoy Fire.
  • Slasher Smile: Fitting with his chaotic nature, Fire/Blaze often show his wide smile whenever he enjoys the battle.
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Neither Fire nor Blaze have sleeves on their clothes. His fusion form with Ice, Frostfire, also doesn't have sleeves.
  • The Unreveal: Like BoBoiBoy Blizzard, the detail of BoBoiBoy Nova's appearance or his power aren't revealed, because his transformation was interrupted by Fang. Judging from his name, it's implied that his power could be related to explosions.

    BoBoiBoy Water

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Ice

3nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Blizzard (incomplete)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5_water.png
The 5th Elemental Form to be unlocked note , Water was sought intentionally to defeat BoBoiBot. He is the most calm and collected form, being literally brought out by BoBoiBoy attaining peace, although he was initially too relaxed to the point of laziness. In the first movie, he gains his 2nd tier form BoBoiBoy Ice after Ochobot grants him a needed upgrade to defeat Bora Ra. In the "Baraju Arc" in Galaxy Season 2, he almost unlocks his 3rd Tier form BoBoiBoy Blizzard during his fight against an equally amnesic BoBoiBoy Blaze, but Fang stops him from transforming before he could endanger everyone. His previous master was Mas Mawais.
  • Blue Is Calm: The titular hero's water elemental wears bright blue, and is the most laid-back and relaxed elemental. In both the original and Galaxy series, BoBoiBoy Water is summoned by the hero achieving inner peace. However, in the original series, he was calm to a fault, and his laziness constantly got in the way. His Galaxy version seems to have outgrown this, and is now one of the most mature elementals while still retaining his relaxed attitude.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Water is a competent fighter, especially after he stops being fat, but is so relaxed that he's also just as lazy. When Water evolves into Ice, the laziness aspect is downplayed.
    • When BoBoiBoy Water is reawakened in Galaxy Season 1, the laziness aspect seems to have disappeared.
  • Cold Sniper: Very terrific archer and sniper as Ice. Although "Cold" side is only refers to his element not his personality.
  • Dreary Half-Lidded Eyes: In the comics, Ice is always drawn with half-lidded eyes, fitting with his calm personality.
  • Freeze Ray: When Ice was unlocked in the first movie, his custom weapon was an Ice Cannon, which shot blocks of ice that froze things upon impact.
  • Jack of All Stats: Compare to the others in the elemental team, he's not particularly powerful, speedy, or defensive, but is very flexible and able to adapt to different situations. However, he seems to have grown much more powerful and defensive when he evolves into Ice.
  • Ice Magic Is Water: Evolves from using water powers to using ice powers. This is actually true in real life, as water shares the same chemical properties as ice, despite having drastically different physical properties.
  • An Ice Person: Once Water evolves into Ice.
  • Making a Splash: Water uses water powers, though strangely enough, his second tier form, Ice, no longer does.
  • Not Quite Flight: Water can stay aloft at a considerable height by sitting on a levitating sphere of water.
  • Not So Stoic: He's normally calm and relaxed, but he still has his moments of getting caught up either in anger or a comedic moment.
    • In the original series, he's shown to be visibly annoyed just before engaging in a Big Ball of Violence with Fire.
    • In Galaxy Season 2 Issue 20, due to the effects of his worsening memory, he completely loses his stoicism during his fight with the also amnesiac Blaze which leads him to almost use his 3rd tier form on him.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Ice is usually relaxed and cool-headed even during fights or some comedic moments. Due to the side-effects of Easy Amnesia after separating from Blaze, Ice becomes more cocky and looks down on Blaze, regarding him as weak and refusing to unite with him to return as the original BoBoiBoy. He ultimately loses all his stoicism to the point where he almost uses his 3rd tier form to destroy Blaze.
  • The Unreveal: Like BoBoiBoy Nova, the detail of BoBoiBoy Blizzard appearance or his power aren't revealed, because his transformation was interrupted by Fang.
  • Training Montage: Undergoes this as he originally was fat in this form which hindered some of his abilities.
  • Trauma Button: Played for Laughs. The extra chapter of Issue 3 of Season 1 Galaxy shows that Water hates to be reminded of his chubby form during his debut in the original season. Ochobot uses this to remind Water to not eat too much food. Water quickly does some exercise to made sure he doesn't gain too much weight.
  • Truth in Television: Ice is simply frozen water. Even though water changes a lot of its physical properties when frozen, it still retains its chemical identity.
  • Youthful Freckles: Ice also has freckles based on his fusion scene with Quake to become Glacier (time stamp: 10:31). But it's harder to see, is only present on his right cheek, and like Quake, his freckles only appear in one shot.

    BoBoiBoy Leaf

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Thorn

3nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Rimba

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6_leaf.png
The 6th Elemental Form to be unlocked, Leaf debuts in Galaxy season 1, episode 5, after BoBoiBoy's watch absorbed it from his time on Planet Rimbara. He's a scatterbrained and somewhat naive individual. His 2nd tier form, BoBoiBoy Thorn, debuted earlier in the first movie after Ochobot grants him a needed upgrade to defeat Bora Ra. (Something something how does Rimba debut) His previous master is King Balakung.
  • Anime Hair: Rimba not only has dark green hair but his hairstyle is more wild and messier than his original hair.
  • Badass Cape: Rimba's cape resembles with a grasshopper's wings. During a battle against Kira'na Voltra, Rimba shows he is more stable and controllable than BoBoiBoy Tempest in battle.
  • Berserk Button: Downplayed. Thorn is visibly annoyed when Solar calls him "weak-minded" in "Issue 9" of Galaxy Season 2, but he doesn't go berserk like how Fire or Lightning/Thunderstorm being mocked and underestimate by their opponent.
  • Big Eater: Rimba is shown to have a huge appetite. It's implied he inherited this from the original owner of the power, King Balakung.
  • Caring Gardener: Social media posts confirm Leaf to take joy in caring for plants, sometimes with the help of his elemental counterparts.
  • Caught in a Snare: Leaf lays some piles of leaves and sticks on a staircase at the Space Pirate base, and some pirate mooks unwittingly trigger traps which bundle them in strips of leaves, dangling from the ceiling.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: One of Leaf/Thorn's defining assets. He's prone to doing random things that don't make any sense, though sometimes this works out for the better.
  • Creating Life: One of Leaf/Thorn/Rimba's powers is summoning a sentient carnivorous plant. During Season 1 Galaxy, Leaf shows that he can summon a big Venus Flytrap to eat a space mosquito. As Rimba, he can summon gigantic Tumbosaurs—a Dinosaurs-like plant creature— to fight against Kira'na.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: In Issue 8, Thorn made snarky answer of Solar question of why he can't make the normal leaf boat instead of thorn-leaf boat and mocking Solar can do nothing to save Ying actually has a point. Since his name is Thorn, he can generate thorn-plant based power. Despite this, his power still can be use during in non-combat situation. While Solar can blast his enemy and use Teleport Spam, his power is only mostly suited for combat.
Solar: Right ? You couldn't just build a normal one (leaf boat) ?
Thorn: But it suits me hehe~ Well, what can you do then ?
Solar: I CAN BLAST YOU! THAT'S WHAT I CAN DO!
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Rimba's eyes have two differently colored corneas, neon green and lime green with dark green. His eyes are somehow similar with reptilian eyes.
  • Green Thumb: His power is to manipulate nature and plants.
  • Hidden Depths: Despite his childish naivete; according to trivia, Leaf once built himself a secret treehouse, implying that he has true skill in his capabilities.
  • Informed Attribute: Extra chapter of Issue 5 of Galaxy season 1 mention that one of Leaf/Thorn role is Combat Medic, implying that he has healing ability. He does know about herbal plants in Social Media post. However, we never see if Leaf/Thorn capable to do that as he never seen to use any kind healing power during in battlefield or mission.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: BoBoiBoy Leaf is shown to be goofy, naive, childish and a Cloud Cuckoo Lander. He is never aggressive like Fire/Blaze and is shown to be affable, even when mocking his opponent.
  • Literal-Minded: Kinda. When Captain Separo is surprised that BoBoiBoy is still alive despite being whacked into a tree, he exclaims "I thought you already learned your lesson." note  Leaf responds by asking what lesson since he thought there was no school that day.
  • Lovable Coward: He's less brave than the other Elemental Forms.Completely averted as Rimba. Where he more braver and happier in battle to the point almost lean to Blood Knight territory.
  • Morph Weapon: Rimba's staff is shown to be able change into different gigantic weapons to enhance his offensive power by becoming a baseball bat and a wooden gauntlet.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: As Rimba, his hair changes to dark green.
  • Tap on the Head: BoBoiBoy fell from a height and onto a tree, then from beneath the foliage does Leaf make his debut. However, he acts scatterbrained and simple-minded because the impact of the fall made a bump on his head.
  • Technicolor Ninjas: BoBoiBoy Leaf/Thorn wears a high-collar outfit, (especially Thorn) who wear black and green outfit. He also has a fanny-bag that can generate plants like vines and mini sharp-leaf shurikens, and some of his techniques are based off crafting tools and traps with plants.
  • Troll: Despite his naivete and innocence, Leaf has moments that cause the others to feel annoyed by his statements, all for his amusement:
    • In the special chapter in Issue 3 of Galaxy's 1st season, he causes Lightning and Fire to fight each other due to them mishearing each other's statements. When they continue fighting, Leaf and Gopal only watch them instead of trying to stop them.
    • In Issue 8 and 9 of Galaxy's 2nd season, Thorn happily makes snarky statements toward Solar due to his overconfidence despite Solar constantly threatening to attack him if he cannot shut his mouth.
  • Vine Swing: In which he generates the leafy vine itself to shoot out and tie itself to a branch for him to swing across.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: He's terrified of snakes.

    BoBoiBoy Light

2nd Tier: BoBoiBoy Solar

The 7th Elemental Form to be unlocked, Light debuts in the penultimate episode of the Galaxy season 1 finale, during the fight against Captain Vargoba. He's the most powerful and smartest elemental, and highly confident of himself, but he can be impatient when things don't go his way. His 2nd tier form, BoBoiBoy Solar, debuted earlier in the first movie after Ochobot grants him a needed upgrade to defeat Bora Ra. His previous master is Retak'ka.
  • The Ace: Defacto the strongest Element in BoBoiBoy's arsenal. There's a reason that he was acquired as the last element in Galaxy.
  • Cool Shades: Solar has yellow tinted shades in his design. It's even officially stated that he wears them to look cool.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Despite being BoBoiBoy undeniably strongest non-fusion form, it is not without weaknesses.
    • Light/Solar's fighting still consists of nothing more than blasting their opponent with ultra-powerful beams of light. If their opponent is able to block or absorb their attacks, Light/Solar is shut down completely.
    • The Light element fights at a distance and has no form of defense against close-range opponents, who can take them out quickly when they get near BoBoiBoy. It is what differentiates them from Lightning/Thunderstorm who is slightly weaker but has weapons to block attacks.
    • As seen in Galaxy Season 2, Solar's abilities are mostly specialised for combat, meaning he doesn't have anything to use when trying to save someone. This is pointed out by Thorn, of all people.
  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: His Amplified Solar Eclipse Beam in Galaxy Season 1's finale. It's so powerful it has a recoil effect that sends him back into space and ultimately causes him to collapse and de-transform. If it weren't for Captain Kaizo rescuing him, he wouldn't have gotten out of the experience alive.
  • Energy Weapon: His most utilised attacks are solar beams that operate as lasers, to devastatingly destructive results.
  • Eye Beams: When they're not shooting out of his hands, his light attacks shoot out of his eyes.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: When enraged and about to use Solar/Light, BoBoiBoy's eyes will tend to glow very brightly. You're especially screwed if he's charging up his Eye Beams...
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Light/Solar wear white with gold highlights, and he's considered the most powerful elemental of all.
  • Hypocritical Humor:
    • In the Malay version of Issue 9, Solar mocks Thorn by calling him as "little bro" after Thorn fails in his attempt to enter Kadruax's Temple. Solar is the actual youngest Elemental Form since he is the last of the Elemental Powers unlocked by BoBoiBoy and behaves pretty much like a typical smug little brother around Thorn.
    • The English version of the same Issue has Solar calling Thorn as "Kiddo" since he thinks Thorn's method of entering the Temple by using a "magic words" is childish. Despite the change, it doesn't erase the humorous moment of Solar overconfidence's resulting in him looking down on Thorn to the point that he sees him as a Kiddie Kid despite being technically the youngest.
  • Light 'em Up: Light/Solar's main power.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He has the most firepower out of any form and can move at light speed.
  • The Night Owl: Light is more comfortable being active at night.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: More evidently with Solar than Light. Most of his time before Galaxy Season 2, Solar has only ever used one attack, and it's his most powerful.
  • Out of Focus: He is rare being used by BoBoiBoy on Season 2 Galaxy and mostly used during critical situation or as component of another fusion with the other Elemental Form like Thorn and Cyclone. Justified since he is the strongest Elemental Form who mostly effective in battle as final solution and most of his technique are lethal and offensive power.
  • Story-Breaker Power: As the most powerful of the Elemental Forms. Despite this, he still has weaknesses that prevent him from being used as often as the others. Also, the form exhausts BoBoiBoy faster than the others, possibly due to the sheer amount of power Solar's attacks have.
  • The Power of the Sun: Light evolved into Solar after being exposed to a sun during a solar eclipse. Solar would then defeat Captain Vargoba with "solar eclipse" blasts.
  • The Smart Guy: While BoBoiBoy is already pretty intelligent, Light/Solar seems to exemplify this aspect of BoBoiBoy's personality even further.
  • Teleport Spam: He sometimes teleports around rapidly to avoid attacks while shooting at a distance.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: He attacks with a sweeping laser that shoots out from either his eyes or hands.

Elemental Fusions (Unmarked Spoilers)

BoBoiBoy's new method of using his elemental powers as of the 2nd movie.
    In General
  • All Your Powers Combined: They possess enhanced and combined elemental powers of BoBoiBoy. Some can wield two simultaneously and others use a mixed version of the two.
  • Doppelmerger: Two forms of BoBoiBoy merge into a singular more powerful form with mixed powers of both.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Their eyes color have two different cornea's color on it. Two different color is represent of which elemental form they formed.(basically all of boboiboy's fusions possesses Central heterochromia)
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: The clothes of fusions often sport asymmetrical designs and colors that represent the 2 forms that they make up.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: They are the climax power of BoBoiBoy in Movie 2, but are prominently featured in the second season of Galaxy.
  • Punny Name: Forms introduced in the second season of Galaxy are a mix of the two elements' Malay names who also form a Meaningful Name in Malay (Ex: Gempa/Quake x Halilintar/Thunderstorm = Gentar, meaning tremble, fear or tremor).
  • Split-Personality Merge: Zig-Zagged. Some forms have a mix of BoBoiBoy's personalities from different forms, others have one being more dominant than the other, while there are those whose personalities are too similar to distinguish when combined.

    BoBoiBoy FrostFire

BoBoiBoy FrostFire (Blaze and Ice)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8_frostfire.png

  • Combo Platter Powers: Blaze and Ice are two very contrasting elements, yet are both compatible with fusing with each other. Justified as these two don't form a new element and are simply enhanced Fire and Ice used at the same time.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: Played With. He fights purely with martial arts moves that are infused with elemental powers, but summons Ice's Bow when he has to fight at range.
  • Fire/Water Juxtaposition: His first fight has him battle in Blaze's vengeful and aggressive manner while maintaining Ice's calm and level-headedness.
  • Sole Survivor: Blaze and Ice were the last elemental forms that were not stolen by Retak'ka, and that was more than BoBoiBoy says he needs to defeat him. By fusing, they aid Ochobot in getting the other elemental forms left.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Defied. When Gopal points out that BoBoiBoy has only ever been using FrostFire when summoning fusions, he experiments using a different form.

    BoBoiBoy Glacier

BoBoiBoy Glacier (Quake and Ice)

Click here to see Glacier's Ice Gargantuan

  • Adaptational Badass: In the 2nd movie, Glacier only appears to stop Retak'ka from destroying the dam by using his Ice Golem. The comic version of it extends his appearance by giving him a bigger role in the fight, and appear before Retak'ka tries to destroy the dam. Then when he is about to destroy it, instead of using Ice Golem, Glacier himself uses an "Ice Wave" to stop his action.
  • Mighty Glacier: The Ice Gargantuan is much larger than Giga, the Earth Golem. It is shown to be much stronger and able to bear the weight of an entire dam but it moves incredibly slowly.
  • Truth in Television: Real Life glaciers aren't purely made of ice and contain varying levels of rocks in them.

    BoBoiBoy Supra

BoBoiBoy Supra (Thunderstorm and Solar)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/10_supra.png

  • Dangerous Forbidden Technique: His Super Supra Blast is incredibly powerful, capable of sending someone out of a planet and obliterating them on the spot note , but it's also very exhausting, meaning right after he uses it, he de-transforms and collapses. Downplayed somewhat by the fact BoBoiBoy used two fusion forms prior to this one.
  • Odd Name Out: Played With. Supra was the only Fusion in the second movie who was not named after a combination of two elements, instead meaning "beyond". Later fusions are not named after a kind of element but rather use a Punny Name from the two components, something Supra is neither.
  • Sinister Scythe: He's armed with Supra Sickles but is firmly fighting on the side of good. However, this does not stop him from being absolutely ruthless to his opponents.
  • Story-Breaker Power: He has the combined speed of both Solar and Thunderstorm's Flash Step. He has Thunderstorm's swords now turned into scythes and can use Solar's powerful beam attacks. In short, he is super fast and strong both ranged and melee. Unfortunately, this form exhausts BoBoiBoy greatly, preventing it from being used as common as his Thunderstorm component.

    BoBoiBoy Sori

BoBoiBoy Sori (Solar and Thorn)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/11_sori.PNG

  • Apologetic Attacker: Often exclaims "sorry" when fighting. This is the source of his name, which coincidentally is a portmanteau of Solar and Duri (Thorn).
  • Edible Bludgeon: Downplayed. Sori's spiked flail resembles a durian, but it can't be eaten.
  • Epic Flail: He wields a spiked flail covered with thorns.
  • Gratuitous English: He apologizes by saying "sorry" rather than "maaf", the Malay word of the same meaning.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: Appears in A LOT of teasers for Galaxy Season 2, and is also on the cover page of Issue 9, even though he doesn't appear until near the end of said Issue.
  • Troll: Sori inherited Thorn's mischievous side. When Sori is standing in front of Adu Du and Probe, seemingly wanting to finish them off with his power, while the bad alien and his robot buddy run away from him, he deactivates his attack, makes a Finger Gun gesture at them and playfully says that he is just joking.

    BoBoiBoy Gentar/Rumble

BoBoiBoy Gentar/Rumble (Quake and Thunderstorm)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/12_gentar.png
Click here to see Gentar's Thunder Golem

  • Dub Name Change: His English translation name is "BoBoiBoy Rumble".
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Gopal often calls him "Hampa" in the Malay version or "Fumble" in the English version due to him not knowing his new powers at first, feeling that Gentar is the most useless fusion form. After realising that Gentar can absorb electricity to gain his power, Gopal calls him "BoBoiBoy Battery".
  • Irony: Gentar is hammy and overconfident like Fire/Blaze or Wind/Cyclone, despite being formed by two serious and calm Elemental Forms like Thunderstorm and Quake, while still inheriting some of Thunderstorm's aggressiveness.
  • Elemental Absorption: Gentar is immune to any laser attacks because he actually absorbs the energy from the laser, which triggers his electricity absorption power. Gopal uses this again by ordering Probe to shoot Gentar with a massive laser beam to strengthen him.
  • Magikarp Power: He starts off with no powers, but later gains incredible strength.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Gentar means "tremble", which is befitting of such a fearsome fusion and the opposite of his brave and fearless personality.
    • The Malay version of his Embarrassing Nickname (Hampa) means "useless", which is also a Punny Name that comes from the Malay names of Thunderstorm and Quake: Halilintar and Gempa.
  • Mecha: His "Thunder Golem" appears to be one, as it looks more mechanical than his usual Giga golem and has Gentar controlling it in a cockpit (instead of through synchronisation).
  • Mechanical Evolution: He has the ability to use metal and machine-like powers and weapons. Giga has also been upgraded to appear more machine like.
  • Morph Weapon: His weapon is a large hammer that can transform into a gauntlet.
  • Power Fist: Gentar's hammer can turn into a iron gauntlet and is shown to be more powerful than Quake's rock gauntlets since it can help him to tear Roksasa's body to save Probe and Ochobot.

    BoBoiBoy Sopan

BoBoiBoy Sopan (Solar and Cyclone)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fa5btcwvqaizyar.jpg

  • Comically Missing the Point: Sopan mistakes Pato's warrior robot for an angry tribal warrior when he tries to calm it by using his power. When this proves ineffective, Sopan is suddenly stunned and Fang calls him out by saying that their opponent is not one of the real warriors.
  • Culture Equals Costume: Unlike the rest of the fusions who usually wear modern clothes, Sopan wears tanjak and the Malay silat uniform, reflecting his Malaysian heritage.
  • Meaningful Name: "Sopan" can mean polite or respectful in Malay. This is reflected not only by his personality but also in his Malay cultural attire which is often used for formal events.
  • Story-Breaker Power: Similarly to Supra, by combining Cyclone and Solar's offensive power and speeds, he is able to fight against two robots who perfectly imitated the powers of Pyrapi and Mawais. Additionally, since Cyclone already obtained his 3rd tier form, Tempest, he apparently has a strengthening influence on Sopan, resulting in him becoming stronger than Supra.
  • Swiss-Army Weapon: His weapon is a hand fan which can also be an Energy Weapon by making an "Energy Kris", which is a gold-colored blade of energy.
