Mousikós

    open/close all folders

    General
  • The Bard: A combination of their Magic Music powers and theatrical, artistic culture, they're pretty much an entire race of these. Cultura even calls them 'an entire race of O&O Bards', which they agree with upon finding out what that is.
  • Forever War: The nation has been at conflict with the school of relic Oceanaiads living off their coast since the Third Age, coveting their island's Castle of Music in order to gain a power-base for their people. More positive example, however, as the Mousikósians are innocent people defending themselves, unlike the Changeling/Dragon Conflict. It finally ends when Lizza Jr. and company arrive and help finally decisively defeat the Oceanaiads.
  • Human Subspecies: Well, Pony Subspecies. Because of the isolation imposed by both the apocalypse of the Third Age and the Oceanaiads lurking off shore, the Musical Ponies of the island have evolved over time until they've become a subspecies that now functions as a new Pony tribe altogether.
  • Magic Music: The large majority of the island's population are Musical Ponies, whose magic is entirely music-based.

    Queen Aoide

Divine Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Musical Magic, Endurance, Dreams

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"The kingdom and the song shall endure!"

Queen Aoide (her entry here) is the divine sovereign of Mousikós, and is the Alicorn goddess of Musical Magic, Endurance, and Dreams.
  • Always Identical Twins: Subverted. She and her younger sister, Mese, are fraternal twins, and thus look nothing alike.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Embodies Musical Magic, Endurance, and Dreams.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted, as she and her younger sister, Mese, are fraternal divine twins - she has a pink pelt and a blue mane and tail made of magical sound energy with purple and silver streaks running through them, and her Cutie Mark is a saxophone. Her Ascension to true godhood during the end of the Third Age, combined with absorbing wild magic trying to contain the magical meltdown caused by the Castle of Music's deteriorating state, rapidly accelerated her physical and magical growth to the point where she's slightly taller than Celestia despite her young "age" as a goddess. Meanwhile, Mese has a light purple pelt with a mane made of orange, pink, and silver emotional energy, and her Cutie Mark is a pink pan flute. Because she never managed to Ascend to true godhood like her sister did, Mese remained a demi-goddess and is rather short because of this, though other benevolent deities like her mentor, Blue Suede Heartstrings, are interested in training her so she could Ascend to true godhood and catch up with her twin sister.
  • Magic Hair: Like Blue Suede Heartstrings, she has a rippling blue mane and tail made of magical sound energy, except hers has purple and silver streaks in them.

    Princess Mese

Divine Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Music, Art, Emotions

Rank: Demi-Goddess

"Just as emotions fuel and inspire the creation of art, proper emotional venting serves as the lifeblood for healthy living."

Princess Mese (her entry here) is the Alicorn demi-goddess of Music, Art, and Emotions, and is a member of the divine "Muse Trio" that rules over the island archipelago of Mousikós.
  • Always Identical Twins: Subverted. She and her older sister, Aoide, are fraternal twins, and thus look nothing alike.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: Embodies Music, Art, and Emotions.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Averted, as she and her older sister, Aoide, are fraternal divine twins - she has a light purple pelt with a mane made of orange, pink, and silver emotional energy, and her Cutie Mark is a pink pan flute. • Magic Hair: Her pink, orange, and silver mane and tail transformed into rippling emotional energy upon Ascending to demi-godhood.

    Rocky
See her folder entry here.

    Lyre

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: It's a kaiju and a powerful defender of the island chains, thanks to the meltdown of the Castle of Music.
  • Compelling Voice: Is/was a Great Songbird, and thus on top of many other musical/singing abilities Lyre has the power to compel other beings with its voice. Mostly to sing/dance along with it.
  • I Love Wild Magic: It was the meltdown of the Castle of Music sometime after the end of the fantastically magical 'Third Age' that contributed to its increase in size and might, thanks to direct exposure to the arcane energetic fallout after helping its master Aoide contain the detonation.
  • Kaiju: Explicitly classified as such thanks to the Karmic Jackpot Lyre received from helping to contain the Castle of Music with its master Lyre.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Out of Undying Loyalty, Lyre stayed with its master/friend Aoide and added its song to hers in order to help her contain the Castle of Music as it underwent meltdown from lack of maintenance. For risking its life like that, the mutations she experienced as result of exposure to wild magic turned it into an incredibly powerful kaiju by chance and becoming the island's guardian creature.
  • Magic Music: Has traits/abilities related to this as a Great Songbird. Thanks to its mutation into a Kaiju, it's all likely taken Up to Eleven.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Thanks to irradiation from wild magic released by the detonation of the Castle of Music, Lyre went from being merely a Great Songbird to a giant Songbird kaiju who would defend Mousikos from all threats.
  • Undying Loyalty: Refused to leave its master Aoide and even tried to help her contain the meltdown of the Castle of Music. This resulted in a Karmic Jackpot of literally gigantic proportions.
