General

• Adaptational Badass: While the Primarchs have always been badasses, here, the Terran Princes are very much so, as they are powerful, legitimate demigods who achieved their own Ascension in different ways. Presently, they have the potential to become full-on divines like their father if they choose to. They are also much stronger psychics than in canon since the Terran Empire is much more tolerant towards psychics in general.
• Adaptational Heroism: Being based on the Primarchs, all of the Terran Princes have been given this treatment. Because of a disastrous combination of wildly different personalities and beliefs, manipulations of the Chaos Gods, and a profound lack of good parenting on the Emperor of Mankind's part, the Primarchs became a Big, Screwed-Up Family that ultimately sets up the stage for the Horus Heresy. Half of the Primarchs even turned traitor. Here, Golden Scepter becoming kinder and more benevolent would later have an impact on his relationship with his sons when he decided to settle down, which would influence his sons to become more heroic and significantly more emotionally and mentally stable than their WH40k counterparts.
• Affectionate Nickname: All of the Terran Princes generally call each other "Brother" out of love and respect, since here they're much closer as family than the Primarchs were. Blazing Hoof, as the oldest child of the family, is called "Big Brother".
• Anthropomorphic Personification: All of the Terran Princes are speculated In-Universe to embody certain aspects of Golden Scepter's personality. For example, Crimson Star embodies his father's psionic talent and thirst for knowledge, Fanged Paw embodies his father's ruthlessness and rambunctious energy, Night Shade embodies his father's terrifying nature and desire for justice, Red Blade embodies his father's terrible wrath, and Written Word embodies his father's conviction and ability to inspire.
• Badass Family: All of the Terran Princes are part of a royal family of badasses, much like their character inspirations. Each of them are incredibly competent Warrior Princes who take after their father, an antediluvian god and a 'prodigy deity', and are all military and political leaders in their own right.
• Big Brother Instinct: The Terran Princes don't take kindly to anyone hurting one of them and will wreak vengeance on those responsible. Part of the reason why Prince Excelsius did not keep five of the Terran Princes inside his gullet forever after devouring them is because he feared the possibility of drawing ire from their brothers... as well as their father, Emperor Golden Scepter, whom Excelsius knew he couldn't hope to defeat after Golden Scepter defeated his mother in twenty minutes over a misunderstanding.
• Cool Uncle: All of the Terran Princes are loving uncles to their respective nieces and nephews, though it depends on who the father is. This includes Mercy, a sapient divine sword who was adopted by Red Blade after her 'father'/master, Silver Bane, gave her up to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon.
• Deity of Human Origin: All of the Terran Princes are demigods who Ascended by overcoming their flaws and doing good things.
• Divine Parentage: All of the Terran Princes are biological sons of Golden Scepter, an ancient Alicorn god, through their mortal mother, Blesseed Skies. This would give them their half-divine heritage, making them Long-Lived mortals before they all Ascended.
• Embodiment of Virtue: In-Universe, all of the Terran Princes are revered in their empire for being bastions of virtue, with some of them embodying at least one virtue as their domains, such as Kindness, Justice, Hope, Temperance, and Faith. This is partially why Pokhot enjoys playing "games of temptation" with them, to make sure that they stay virtuous and don't lose sight of what they each embody.
• Expy: All of Golden Scepter's biological sons are based on the Primarchs. Much like their character inspirations, they're a group of royal badass brothers whose capabilities far surpass those of their average mortal subjects, to the point of being collectively seen as godlike. However, Golden Scepter atoning for his sins prior to settling down played a huge part on his family dynamic, making his relationship with his sons much healthier than their WH40k counterparts.
• Fantasy Pantheon: It's noted in Written Word's entry that despite religion and public worship based on the royal family being banned in the Terran Empire, it didn't stop some people from secretly depicting the Terran Princes as part of a benevolent "pantheon" that would rule over the Terran Empire and ensure eternal prosperity over the lands, with Golden Scepter as his family's Top God. Jasper even lampshades it in one Codexverse drabble.
  Jasper: Y'know, I can see why people depict you guys as a huge pantheon here.
  Prince Crimson Star: Oh?
  Jasper: Well... you have the big honcho - who IS quite literally a god - that everyone answers to, which is your dad. And under him are you, your demigod brothers, and any other relatives you might have. And like a pantheon, you guys do lots of good things for us.
  Prince Crimson Star: We try not to do so much that our subjects become completely dependent on us. Only logical that way.
  Jasper: There's also the fact that you guys are all kinda... living in one spot...
  Prince Crimson Star: ...Oh... I honestly never thought of it that way.
• Foil: All of the Terran Princes are this to Emperor Blackthorn's sons/Scions, the Changeling Kings. Both are demigods, but their growths were affected by how they were raised by their respective parents — the Terran Princes became beloved heroes of their homeland by overcoming their own flaws thanks to Golden Scepter's positive influence, while the Changeling Kings became infamous as highly immoral and tyrannical schemers thanks to Blackthorn's rather hands-off parenting. The Terran Princes are very close to each other as brothers, while many of the Changeling Kings will not hesitate to kill and/or sabatoge their brothers to gain power and/or Blackthorn's favor. The Terran Prinnces also have the potential to become true gods if they choose to, something that the Changeling Kings believe to be impossible since no Royal Changeling save for the Zeroth Spawns has ever done it before.
• Generation Xerox: Much like their father, the Terran Princes all struggled with various flaws that crippled their growth as stallions and royals, and made huge mistakes that would continue to haunt them. Once they overcame their flaws and atoned for their mistakes, they would Ascend to demi-godhood.
• A God I Am Not: Despite being powerful and accomplished demigod Warrior Princes, they don't want to be worshiped and actively discourage it. This stemmed from various factors like humility, insecurities over their own flaws/failures, and/or their collective refusal to let their subjects become overly dependent on them. Notably, the Scholars of the Stars formed in part because Prince Crimson Star, its founder and central figure, didn't want his subjects to worship a Reformed Bully.
• Head Pet: After Applejack/Veritas finds her young daughter, Baby Applejack, sitting atop her grandfather's head, Golden Scepter mentions to her that all of the Terran Princes found their way to the top of his head at some point during their infancy/foalhood. They have all grown much bigger since then.
  Emperor Golden Scepter: (to Princess Applejack/Veritas) For what is worth, my daughter-in-law, your husband and his brothers had also found their way up there at one point or another in their foal-hood. I am more or less resigned and expecting to see more of my present and coming grandchildren making a throne out of my head in the future.
  Baby Applejack: (cheering) Grandpa so comfy!
• Heroic Lineage: All of the Terran Princes are the biological sons of Golden Scepter, an extremely ancient Alicorn 'prodigy' and legendary war hero. Many believe In-Universe that they represent some aspect of their father, such as his Psychic Powers, his ruthlessness, his scientific and technological brilliance, his wrath, and his conviction.
• History Repeats: Defied and averted. During the "Temptation Unbound" conflict, a group of Fallen deities and their worshipers tried getting rid of Golden Scepter and his family by setting his sons against each other, starting with Prince Written Word, in an orchestrated repeat of the "Aurum Apostasy" conflict that nearly killed Golden Scepter. The end result would have been similar to the Horus Heresy, up to including Golden Scepter's death. However, Prince Crimson Star would foresee this and warn his father, saving his family from destruction and exposing the culprits in the process.
• Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted. While all of Golden Scepter's sons were adults by the time they each Ascended, they are currently Alicorn demigods, the divine equivalent of a newborn baby. That being said, they do the option and potential to become full-fledged divines if they choose to.
• In the Blood: If the entries on Golden Scepter's sons are to be believed, all of them have their father's best traits, such as scientific/technological brilliance, oral charisma, kindness, and idealism. They also have crippling flaws of some kind that they eventually end up redeeming themselves for, just like how their father fell into tyranny and then atoned for his horrible crimes and flaws to make up for them years before.
• Large and in Charge: Being the biological sons of Golden Scepter, who is very tall himself, all of the Terran Princes are large Alicorn demigods, just like their WH40k counterparts. Prince Forging Scales in particular is the tallest of his brothers, and is pretty famous even among non-Terrans for his height. They are also major political leaders, powerful warriors, and military commanders in their own right.
• Long-Lived: It's implied that even if they were still mortal, all of Golden Scepter's sons were able to live much, much longer than the average mortal due to inheriting a partial divine heritage from their father. Becoming demi-Alicorns ensured that all of them would become immortal for real.
• Magic Hair: Because of their sheer power, all of the Terran Princes had their own magic change their manes and tails to represent what they embody post-Ascension.
• The Magnificent: All of the Terran Princes have titles to accompany their names after doing something awesome revolving around what they embody. This extends to their adoptive siblings and extended family, all who have badass titles of their own.
• Massive Numbered Siblings: All of the Terran Princes were sired by Golden Scepter through their mother, Blessed Skies. This has not gone without comment from Trixie Lulamoon, who visited the Terran Empire once and was dismayed to find the royal family contained only divine Alicorn stallions. Even the Radiant Emperor himself found it highly amusing.
  Trixie Lulamoon: It's nothing but a SAUSAGE FEST in here!
• Missing Mom: Justified; the mother of Golden Scepter's sons, Empress-Consort Blessed Skies, was a mortal pegasus mare. The fact that her husband and children are both immortal meant that she would eventually be outlived by them, even with life-extending technologies. This would have a profound psychological effect on the Terran Princes; Clear Voice would develop a fear of outliving those he gets close to, which initially prevented him from dating and marrying then-mortal Applejack, while Written Word went through a Crisis of Faith as his feelings of Broken Pedestal towards Golden Scepter increased, as he believed his father could have helped her Ascend and grant her immortality, yet didn't.
• Noodle Incident:
  • Apparently, Applejack/Veritas convinced several of the Terran Princes to partake in a riddle competition overseen by Aldhika Moufette. They lost, with the resulting penalty.
  • In another Drabble, both Prince Raven Wing and Prince Red Blade went on vacation in another country. They ended up starting, participating and co-leading a revolution against the oppressive monarchy of said country, partly by accident.
• Not So Above It All: As multiple Codexverse quotes and drabbles show, the Terran Princes do tend to get into silly situations (or start them themselves) despite their royal upbringing and demi-divine heritage. This especially applies to the more serious and stoic Terran Princes, like Steel Barricade.
• Papa Wolf: The Terran Princes are very protective of their family, including their own adoptive/biological children. Woe betide those who harm anyone close to them.
  • They're very protective of Mercy, a divine Poenan sword who gradually became sapient under the care of Silver Bane. Silver Bane gave Mercy up to the Terran Princes following his defection because he trusted their ability to defend her from the Poenans. He was proven right, as many Poenans deemed Mercy to be 'corrupted' and intended to purify her back into a non-sapient weapon she once was for their zealous crusades.
  • Some of them seriously considered avenging Rosy Dreams by letting Floral Forte into the dungeons where Sweet Words is held to deal with him. However, Golden Scepter hears what they're thinking, and nips their plan in the bud by pointing out the ramifications and threatening to discipline them if they disobey his orders.
  • An inverted example with Golden Scepter: All of the Terran Princes are horrified and angered when Golden Scepter snidely suggests to Gilded Stove, a Terran Griffon chef who tried assassinating him with poisoned spaghetti, that he learn under his sons to get better at assassination, and they all give Gilded Stove a collective Death Glare. This motivates Gilded Stove to turn himself in to the authorities, not wanting to die a horrible death at the hooves of nineteen demigods.
  • When it was discovered that a group of psychic Serial Killers called the "Mindflayers" were targeting and attempting to kill Rosy Dreams under their noses, an enraged Golden Scepter gave the Terran Princes his full permission to pursue the culprits. Save for their leader, Rose Knot, who escaped, all of the Mindflayers chose to fight the Terran Princes to the death rather than be imprisoned, as they would die a slow, agonizing death of starvation.
• Pay Evil unto Evil: As a whole, the Terran Princes can be rather vindictive at times, especially when children (including their own) is involved. When a furious Floral Forte requested for permission to deal with Sweet Words herself, they considered letting her go so they could avenge Rosy Dreams, only for Golden Scepter to put a stop to it. They are also more than happy to see Trench Bull rot in her cell, with Prince Death Shroud once begging his father to let him punish her, but was also refused. Golden Scepter would later note to the Four Terrors during their visit that he has his hooves "all over the place" trying to prevent his sons from taking matters into their own hooves, which is one of the reasons why he hadn't granted the Terrors' request to punish his prisoners yet.
• Powered Armor: Like their father, Golden Scepter, all of the Terran Princes have their own suit of magical powered armor, which increases their physical capabilities tenfold and makes them much more powerful than they naturally are as full divines and demi-divines.
• Psychic Powers: Like the Primarchs, the Terran Princes have inherited some degree of psychic ability from Golden Scepter, though are much more powerful thanks to their father and the Terran Empire being accepting of "psykers". Prince Crimson Star is the most powerful of his brothers due to being a demigod of Psionics as well as the reincarnation of Scarlet Vortex, one of Golden Scepter's Golden Generals.
• Raise Him Right This Time: It's implied that all of Golden Scepter's sons were once his "Golden Generals" from the Imperium era. But they had been reincarnated after death by mysterious forces in order to give them a second chance, and to teach Golden Scepter how to treat those close to him with unconditional love, respect, and compassion. Golden Scepter is starting to suspect something, though Luminiferous assures him that even if his sons are indeed his reincarnated Generals, they're still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings.
• Rank Scales with Asskicking: All of the Terran Princes are Alicorn demigods, and thus are ranked just below their father. They are also incredibly powerful and competent warriors and military/political leaders, though it's mentioned in their entries that much of their combat experiences came from their globe-trotting. This also applies to their adoptive siblings and in-laws in the wider Aureusidae faction, many who are deities themselves and/or are leaders of their own pantheons.
• Reincarnation: Discussed. Golden Scepter, feeling rather frazzled from both dealing with the whammy that Written Word had been encouraging religious worship of him behind his back, and trying to figure out how to deal with him, reveals to Luminiferous that sometimes he wonders if all of his sons are actually reincarnations of his Generals from the Imperium era. Luminiferous assures him that even if they are, they're still unique individuals in a lot of ways.
  Emperor Golden Scepter: ...You know, Luminiferous, sometimes I wonder if my sons are reincarnations of the same Generals that I had treated so poorly...
  Luminiferous: Golden, even if they are, your sons are still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings. While you can't fix the past, you now have enough knowledge and experience to ensure that your sons can have the brighter future that your Generals did not.
• Related Differently in the Adaptation: All of the Terran Princes are related to each other by blood thanks to their father marrying a mortal mare and siring children with her. By contrast, the Primarchs have no biological mother and are only related to the Emperor of Mankind via being his genetically engineered clone offspring.
• Royals Who Actually Do Something: Much like their father, the Terran Princes don't sit around and let others do things for them. All of them are Warrior Princes and highly beloved and respected heroes who each overcame their own flaws, warranting their Ascension to demi-godhood. They also went out of their way to help and protect people from dangerous threats, even if said people are not their subjects.
• Secret-Keeper: All of Written Word's brothers became this for him after he secretly joined the priesthood for an underground religion centered around their father, Golden Scepter. They saw his decision as a "foolish mistake", but they loved their brother so much that they didn't want to break his heart, so they kept quiet around their father for Written Word's sake. This gets Golden Scepter mad at them when, after discovering what Written Word had been doing behind his back during a heated argument, he learns afterward that his other sons knew all along yet didn't tell him about it to protect their brother from reprisal.
• Secret Test of Character: As a constructively evil goddess, Pokhot subjects the Terran Princes to "games" of temptation whenever they visit the Bogolenya Deer Pantheon by making them lust after the darker sides of what they each embody. To her, this is her way of being "friendly" to the children of an ancient god who befriended her father during one of his past adventures. Thus, she is delighted when they resist her temptations, such as Crimson Star who rejected her offers of forbidden knowledge and a cure for his blindness, and ended up being gifted with a tome on ancient civilizations.
• Seers: Some of the Terran Princes inherited Golden Scepter's precognitive power, as he is a god of Psionics and thus a powerful clairvoyant. Among them are Bright Eyes, Crimson Star, Night Shade, and Red Blade.
• Semi-Divine: All of the Terran Princes are the collective product of his loving marriage to his mortal wife and Empress-Consort, a pegasus mare named "Blessed Skies". It's implied that their mixed heritage was what allowed them to Ascend to demi-Alicornhood on their own, after doing positive things related to what they embodied.
• Sibling Team: While all of the Terran Princes can individually kick ass in their own ways, they have been known to work together on numerous occasions. The most prominent of them is the team-up between Fanged Paw and Crimson Star, who play off of each other's different strengths and abilities very well, though Fanged Paw has also teamed up with Written Word to stop Onda Ryggraden, an evil Deer Lich warrior/pirate, and it's mentioned that Written Word and Bright Eyes have worked closely in the past in inspiring Hope and Faith among mortals.
• Stop Worshipping Me: Enforced. Like their father, the Terran Princes have a low opinion on religion in general, as it tends to create Blind Obedience and leaves people unable to personally take responsibility for their actions. So while they're very tolerant of other faiths, public religious worship of them is banned by law. The only exception was Written Word, who genuinely believed that religion can help people and preached to them his father's values. Eventually though, he came around when Golden Scepter learned of his activities and gently explained to him what he was really doing, kicking off a series of events that led to Written Word discovering the true value of Faith and Ascending to demi-godhood.
• Superpowerful Genetics: Justified. Because Golden Scepter is an extremely ancient and powerful Alicorn god, all of his nineteen sons are incredibly powerful individually and became even more so after Ascending to demi-godhood, with their portfolios being based on what aspect of their father they supposedly represent, more or less. This is due to the fact that in the Codexverse, whenever divines have children in general, the child(ren) would end up embodying some aspect of the parent(s). This also applies to any children the Terran Princes would sire — Princess Applejack VI, Applejack V's firstborn daughter through Prince Clear Voice, has massive potential due to being Golden Scepter's biological granddaughter.
• Uneven Hybrid: With the reveal that Golden Scepter is a Pony-Eohippus hybrid due to his father being an ancient Eohippus Alicorn, this makes the Terran Princes Pony-Eohippus hybrids. Except in their case, their Eohippus traits are less pronounced due to them being sired through a Pegasus mother.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: The Terran Princes' Ascensions would inspire Professor Bubbling Beaker to perform horrific experiments on young Pony foals and teenagers in the name of unlocking the secrets of godhood. Predictably, The Terran Princes all reacted with shame and anger upon learning of this.
• Warrior Prince: All of Golden Scepter's sons, being based on the Primarchs, are royal demi-divine Princes who are powerful fighters and commanders of their own military chapters, as well as prominent political leaders to varying degrees. However, they're also far less dysfunctional than the Primarchs because of Golden Scepter's benevolent influence as a parent, and they have been known to team up and kick ass.
• The Worf Effect: As sons of a very ancient Alicorn 'prodigy' deity, the Terran Princes have been consistently shown as extremely powerful demigods, warriors, and psykers in their own right. Five of them end up receiving a Curb-Stomp Battle and devoured when they run into Prince Excelsius in their attempt to stop a plot between a Viceliege and other foreign overlords. However, Excelsius only held the Terran Princes within his gullet long enough to let the plot go as planned, and he fortunately let them go after they successfully managed to draw first blood, but the incident left them all badly shaken.

Prince Blazing Hoof is the firstborn son of Emperor Golden Scepter, and a demi-Alicorn Prince of the Terran Empire. He serves as Golden Scepter's second-in-command.

• Adaptational Heroism: Horus Lupercal was originally the favored son of the Emperor of Mankind, until he turned traitor thanks to a combination of the Emperor's actions and manipulations from the Chaos gods, creating the Horus Heresy that tore the Imperium of Mankind apart. Here, he's a benevolent demigod Prince who never turned traitor, as his father, Golden Scepter, went through lots of Character Development that heavily influenced how he raised his sons.
• Affectionate Nickname: He's often called "Big Brother" by his younger brothers out of love and respect due to being the first born among them, despite not being the tallest of them (that honor would go to Forging Scale, the tallest of his brothers).
• Bait-and-Switch: Blazing Hoof once confronted his father Golden Scepter and declared that he would unleash his legions... for getting more ice cream than he and his brothers. Golden Scepter was tremendously relieved when he realised young Blazing Hoof and his brothers and friends were merely going to raid the summer palace kitchens for ice cream rather than history repeating itself.
• Big Brother Instinct: When he saw Fanged Paw and a few other brothers beating up a despondent Crimson Star, with the latter not fighting back against his attackers at all, Blazing Hoof unhesitatingly moved to defend Crimson Star alone, even though his younger brother had been an Insufferable Genius to everyone prior to that. Golden Scepter would soon intervene before things got too bloody.
• Big, Stupid Doodoo-Head:
  • Both Mercy and Baby Applejack have called him a "poopy-head", having been persuaded to do so by Fanged Paw and Steel Barricade. He starts worrying if this is going to be a new precedent for him every time he gets a new niece/nephew.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: (after Baby Applejack calls him a "poopy-head") ...Is this going to happen every time I gain a new niece or nephew?
  • He gets a bit of payback after several of his siblings, including Fanged Paw compete in a riddle competition overseen by Aldhika Moufette, and lost, with the agreed upon penalty. Blazing Hoof gets his nephew Solar Shield tell Fanged Paw he stinks... and was a poopy-head for partaking in the first place.
• Butt-Monkey: He's shaping up to be this. So far, he's been called a "poopy-head" twice by his adoptive/biological nieces (two of whom had been persuaded to do so by Fanged Paw and Steel Barricade), and he got pranked on by Clear Voice and Raven Wing. Discovering that Clear Voice of all people decided to join in their mischievous brothers' antics shocked him.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: I think I'm going to quote Jasper on this one... Why does this keep happening to me?
• Calling the Old Man Out: He would confront Golden Scepter on how he handled the Pony Autorists that attacked the Terran Empire, assuming that his father just used his empathy powers on them and let them go as soon as they started showing signs of regret. Golden Scepter would explain to Blazing Hoof by personally showing the Pony Autorists the pain and suffering they've inflicted on his subjects, he would give them empathy for their victims, in turn realizing the consequences of their hatred and self-serving bigotry; the only way to alleviate their guilt would be to atone for their actions. Golden Scepter also pointed out that responding with harshness towards all of the Pony Autorists, as Blazing Hoof had intended, would only "beget hatred" in the long run, so he only focused on those who were genuinely unrepentant and bigoted while giving mercy to those who were simply misled.
• Divine Parentage: Is the first-born demi-divine son of Emperor Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies, a mortal pegasus mare. This would make him Long-Lived until he Ascended and became an Alicorn demigod.
• Eaten Alive: A drabble revealed a fight with Prince Excelsius, Vicearch Iniquitous' firstborn Princeling of Vice, ended with Blazing Hoof and four of his brothers being consumed and assimilated by Excelsius into his being to prevent them from interfering with one of Excelsius' Vicelieges and his allied overlords' plans, though with his brothers' help, he managed to break out and eventually help break his four other brothers out.
• Et Tu, Brute?: Played for laughs; he was utterly shocked when he discovered that Clear Voice, famous for being the most dutiful of his older/younger brothers, decided to team up with Raven Wing in pranking him.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: You too, Clear Voice?
  Prince Clear Voice: It was going to happen sooner or later, Big Brother.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: But... you, of all people? You're the dutiful one! I thought you knew better!
  Prince Clear Voice: It is the duty of younger siblings to pester and annoy their elder siblings on some days. I may know better, as you said, but even I cannot avoid that particular duty for long.
• Everyone Has Standards: Even though his younger brother, Crimson Star, had been an Insufferable Genius in the past, he strongly disapproved with his younger brother's severe mistreatment at the hooves of Fanged Paw, Death Shroud, and Red Blade, especially since Crimson Star was blinded in a carriage accident. In fact, he moved to protect the injured Crimson Star by himself upon discovering his other brothers' actions until Golden Scepter intervened.
• Expy: Of Primarch Horus Lupercal. Much like Horus, he's the first son of a divine Emperor, and he serves as his father's second-in-command in both military and political duties. However, Golden Scepter becoming a kinder and more benevolent person would later influence his parenting methods when he decided to settle down and have a family, in turn influencing Blazing Hoof into becoming someone entirely different than the reviled traitor Horus was.

  • He's implied to be a benevolent and politically active Prince who takes after his father. The fact that he was willing to deliver a harsh yet "just" punishment towards a group of Pony Autorists for attacking the Terran Empire shows just how ruthless he can be in protecting his subjects.
  • As Fanged Paw's entry showed, he was willing to confront and beat up three of his own brothers in order to protect another, saving a severely injured Crimson Star when Golden Scepter heard the commotion and quickly intervened in the fight.
• Heroic Lineage: He is the first-born son of Golden Scepter, an antediluvian Alicorn Emperor who is an incredibly powerful psychic, a peerless genius and warrior, and a very competent leader who founded three empires in his lifetime. In addition, he's regarded as a legendary war hero even among the Alicorns, who were all saved from complete extinction thanks to his efforts. If his being inspired by Primarch Horus Lupercal is to go by, he supposedly embodies Golden Scepter's ambition.
• The Magnificent: Known as "the Imperial Sword", likely because as Golden Scepter's second-in-command, he has important duties involving the Terran Empire's military, similar to how Horus was appointed to the role of "Warmaster" in the Imperium of Mankind.
• Massive Numbered Siblings: Is the oldest of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has eighteen younger brothers. Then there's Majesty, a legendary unicorn queen, who became his big sister after his father finally formally acknowledged his adoption of her in the Fourth Age.
• Pay Evil unto Evil: He wanted to give some Pony Autorists "a harsh yet just punishment" for attacking the Terran Empire and their subjects. However, his father, Golden Scepter, decided to pick a more merciful option by personally showing the Pony Autorists the consequences of their hateful bigotry, allowing him to weed out the unrepentant from those who displayed genuine remorse. When Blazing Hoof confronted Golden Scepter about it, assuming the Pony Autorists were Easily Forgiven, Golden Scepter would explain that being harsh to everyone would only beget more hatred, and that it is sometimes best to show mercy to those who were simply misled, as all the Pony Autorists (save their leader, an genuinely unrepentant bigot until the end) were motivated to atone for their horrible actions because of the incident.
• Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: In a Codexverse drabble, he roars this trope as he protects a severely injured Crimson Star from Fanged Paw and a few brothers who ganged up on him and beat him up, punctuating his words with his punches.

• Straight for the Commander: Much like Horus, he believes in using the "Speartip" tactic, in which the enemy leadership are targeted and killed first so their armies would lose their will to continue fighting, making them much easier to take down. While it does have its flaws, this tactic has proven very effective against factions that heavily relied on centralized control of their forces, as shown in the "Exosus Conflict". Notably, Luna was an enthusiastic supporter of this due to not only her aggressive temperament, but also her pragmatism and emphasis on precision and stealth.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: The first rule of warfare is to eliminate command and control. Cut off the head, and the rest of the body would perish, more often then not. Of course, some may beg to differ, but fortunately most armies are not like hydras. At the very least, it would leave the enemy forces which remain easier to deal with piecemeal.
• What the Hell, Hero?: He would give his younger brother, Red Blade, an epic one for beating up a blinded Crimson Star and leaving him near death, therefore becoming no better than the bullies who used to pick on him every day.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: I remember protecting you and walking with you to school so those BULLIES wouldn't attack you! I remember comforting you while Forging Scale put bandages on your wounds whenever you came back home CRYING and BRUISED! In my arrogance, I once thought that perfection lay in the absence of imperfection, that beauty lay in the absence of ugliness. But we are not the precious minerals we shape and refine in our forges. We are not the weapons we temper with hammers and flame. No, we are creatures of a higher breed and a more complex state of mind, with the ability to develop a moral compass based on what we see, learn and experience.
  
  As Father often taught us, without flaws, we would not know and remind ourselves of the difference between Good and Evil. If my brothers and I did not have any imperfections to speak of, we would all be grasping at straws in our quest to become wiser in the ways of the world. I know that the necessity for Evil to coexist with Good is a difficult concept to understand, but ask yourself: Why did the ancient Alicorns, the greatest children of the Great Maker, lose their once-great civilization despite their benevolence, power, and divinity? • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn demigod who embodies Kindness, Fire, Earth, and Forge. It's believed In-Universe that he's also the living embodiment of Golden Scepter's compassion.
• Beware the Nice Ones: He's a Gentle Giant who sees both non-sapient and sapient life to be treasured. He frequently clashed with eco-terrorists because they claim to love nature, but hurt innocent people the moment they "harm" nature.
• Big Brother Instinct: After learning that Steel Barricade nearly committed suicide thanks to Night Shade, he and Clear Voice would visit him in the royal infirmary and swear to help him recover from his ordeal.
  Prince Steel Barricade: ...Why care about me...? I did a lot of bad things... Night Shade is right, I deserved this...
  Prince Forging Scales: Don't listen to him! You may have done bad things, Steel, but that doesn't mean you're FOREVER bad! As Father often said, people can learn and change. We'll help you get through this, Brother! I swear it!
• Big Little Brother: Played with. He's the tallest of his brothers despite not being the oldest (that honor goes to Blazing Hoof), and he's famous for his height. However, being the fifth son of Golden Scepter means that he's one of his older children.
• The Blacksmith: He is this among the Terran Royal Family, bordering on Ultimate Blacksmith, having forged many mastercrafted tools, weapons, armour, regalia and other works.
• Close to Home: As (supposedly) the embodiment of Golden Scepter's compassion for all living beings, he sees both sapient and non-sapient life to be treasured, and is enraged with King Aspen's eco-terrorists for fanatically supporting nature at the expense of everything/everyone else.

  • He became Mercy's uncle after she was adopted by his younger brother, Red Blade, and it's mentioned in her entry that he's willing to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon.
  • He also acts this way towards his other adoptive niece, Rosy Dreams, a young psychic filly who was sexually abused by her birth father, Sweet Words; when Rosy asked for a seed in return for doing her chores, he refused to fulfill her request due to seeds being associated with her abusive past, and hugged Rosy instead.

• Complete Immortality: Thanks to inheriting his father's Perpetuity mutation, Forging Scales is a Perpetual himself, giving him this and Resurrective Immortality.
• Cuteness Proximity: While hiking with his brothers in northern Neighpon, Forging Scales found a seemingly innocous forest mice so adorable he couldn't resist 'booping its snoot'. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a 'Kodama Nezumi', a rodent-like Yokai endemic to the north which when startled would heat itself up and explode spectacularly. Fortunately, thanks to his Alicorn demigodhood and Perpetualty Forging Scales was none worse for wear, cheerfully declaring he was okay after recovering from the explosion.
• Deity of Human Origin: Implied, as all of Golden Scepter's sons have individually become demi-Alicorns at some point, so this might apply to Forging Scales.

• The Dreaded: Used to be this between his fearsome and imposing appearance and also his growing antisocial tendencies due to that and learning he was a Perpetual. This changed after his Break the Haughty moment led to a long self-imposed exile and Character Development which turned him into the kind, compassionate and humble Terran Prince he is today, beloved by the subjects and allies of the Terran Empire.
• The Empath: Implied; being the Alicorn demigod of Kindness, he shares the same empathic abilities as Upepo, the Giraffe goddess of Kindness. When he caught Steel Barricade throwing Rosy Dreams' treasured stuffed Boar in the fireplace while she was away, he confronted his younger brother on it. He ended up sensing slivers of pain, reluctance, and regret that indicated Steel Barricade's genuine desire to help Rosy even though he personally didn't like doing what he did to ensure it.
• Expy: Of Primarch Vulkan, drawing inspiration from both his canon Horus Heresy counterpart (where he was kind, compassionate, selfless and humble) and his Alternate Universe Roboutian Heresy counterpart (where he was cruel, heartless, selfish and proud).
• The Fair Folk: Had to content with a group of Unseelie 'Old Fae' called the 'Dusk Wraiths' during his 'Reforging' in Promethea, where they regularly attack from their hidden lairs in Draconia. He achieved heroic status and eventually demigodhood fighting back against them with a pair of blacksmiths hammers when they attacked the Promethean city he settled in, rallying the rest of the Prometheans into fighting back as well rather than fighting, and eventually led a war to drive them out that would culminate in a Final Battle where he knocked the 'Dusk Wraith' overlord leading the operation into a pit of lava. Partly as a consequence to this, he is very uneasy around Fae in general.
• Foil: To King Aspen's eco-terrorists. As the most compassionate of the Terran Princes, Forging Scales deeply values all life, whether sapient or non-sapient, and sees both as something to be treasured. King Aspen and his eco-terrorists fanatically support nature to the point of harming everything and everyone who don't agree with them. In addition, King Aspen, who is rumored In-Universe to have started the rise of eco-terrorism, is a deeply bigoted and self-righteous xenophobe who sees mortal Deerkind as the rightful caretakers and sovereigns of nature itself.
• Gentle Giant: He's the tallest of his brothers and is quite famous for it, even dwarfing his father, Golden Scepter (though is shorter than Golden Scepter's true divine form). It's implied that he has a very kind personality, if his positive interactions with his family and adoptive nieces are of any indication.
• God of Fire: DEMI-God of Fire, technically, but his domain of Fire allows Forging Scales to manipulate flames and being largely immune thermal and incendiary damage when combined with his domain of Forging.

• Humble Hero: When the people of Promethea chose him to be their leader for driving away the Dusk Wraiths, he refused to accept any official titles or positions in humility, believing he does not deserve it and that he did only what had to be done. He was still the de-facto leader of Promethea in all but name.
• Hypocritical Humor: Forging Scales' kindness and compassion makes him abhor 'inequine' weapons in war, but his own forces heavily utilizes flame-based weaponry, and burning people to death isn't exactly very equine. Forging Scales is such a Pyromaniac however he is inexplicably incapable of understanding how this is a problem when it is pointed out to him, a trait shared by much of his chapter the Ebon Drakes.
• Interrupted Suicide: One of his younger brothers, Steel Barricade, would nearly succeed in committing suicide out of guilt and self-loathing after getting into a nasty argument with Night Shade over his own mistakes. Thankfully, Clear Voice and Red Blade intervened, but Steel Barricade ended up in the royal infirmary. Forging Scales was upset over this, and during his visit, he swears that he'll help Steel Barricade recover from his ordeal and atone for his mistakes.
• Kill It with Fire: Being a (demi-)God of Fire, Forging Scales and his Ebon Drakes chapter uses significant amounts of short-ranged but devastating Fire-based weaponry and magic for battle, from Firehosers which sprays Dragonfire, manacasters which launches Fireballs, to alchemical Fuel-Air bombs and Gelfire (magical Napalm) which could set whole towns and cities ablaze.
• Loners Are Freaks: He was initially quite antisocial when he was quite young due to both fear and ostracization by others for his imposing and fearsome appearance, and his 'Perpetuity' separates him further from common Equinity and made it difficult for him to empathize with common mortals. Fortunately, he experienced a Break the Haughty moment which neutered his budding pride and callousness before it could grow into something bad.
• The Magnificent: Known as "the Hammer of Peace", due to being a hammer-wielding Terran Prince and the most compassionate of his brothers.
• The Philosopher: Downplayed, but Prince Forging Scales codified the lessons and views he learnt in Promethea and other places into a set of philosophy called the "Promethean Creed", teaching the existence of potential in all beings and the importance of the great to protect and nurture the small in kindness and compassion to help allow their potential to blossom, while at the same time work to become strong and self-reliant so the meek can become mighty and be in a position to help others without burdening others by needing help, especially in a Death World like Equus with places like frigid Pravata, harsh Promethea and nightmarish Meridia. The creed had proved popular beyond his chapter and the Terran Empire, such as Equestria and Mustangia.
  Forging Scales: Honour, self-sacrifice, self-reliance, brotherhood. It is our Promethean creed and we must adhere to it if we are to prosper.
• Pyromaniac: All but confirmed. As early as when he was three his room had to be fire-proofed, he is enthusiastic about any situation which requires lighting a fire e.g. barbeques, and his Ebon Drakes military chapter uses a lot of fire-based weapons and magic. Unlike his other faults, he does not consider this a flaw in his character, and is inexplicably confused whenever someone point out his inclination to set things on fire may be a problem as well, as an argument with his brother Death Shroud over his weapons of extermination revealed. Fortunately, apart from making him feel bad, Skost-Ferreus is otherwise harmless, and after recovering and returning home Forging Scales had learnt to just ignore it.

• Unstoppable Rage: When he saw Kesavre, the Drake Mother being overcome by the Black Dragon Simmerian during the Dusk Wraiths' attack on the Promethean Sanctuary City he had settled in, Forging Scales, who had previously focused on helping the sheltering and evacuation of the city's people, flew into a protective rage and decided to remain Neutral No Longer, grabbing a pair of forging hammers and slaughtering his way through the Dusk Wraiths to aid the Drake Mother, rallying the people of the Sanctuary-City to fight back against the Dusk Wraiths themselves.
• What the Hell, Hero?: He gave a massive reprimand to a Terran Empire general for disregarding and disparaging hapless civilians during the 'Storm King Crisis', and later had him removed from command for not only failing to prioritize civilian evacuation over fighting the enemy as the situation required, but even had the heartless audacity to shell a refugee camp being raided by the Storm Empire's forces with no regard to collateral damage or civilian casualties. The only ones more furious than Prince Forging Scales was are his own elite guards, which he had to restrain from outright murdering the general following the shelling incident then and there before he could be taken away to be imprisoned and court-martialed.
  Terran General: Your highness, I don’t see why we must spend resources coddling those mobs when it could be used to fight the enemy! Those soft fools don’t understand war. If they know better, they should have got out of the way on their own while true warriors - !
  Prince Forging Scales: Those 'mobs', general, are the Terran Empire's people! Our people! If we spare no effort to protect them, then who are we protecting?!
• Winged Unicorn: Implied; all of his brothers became Alicorn demigods at some point, so this must apply to him as well.

It took the combined efforts of his father Golden Scepter, his brothers, his wife Princess Veritas/Applejack and half the Castellan guards of the Terran Imperial Palace to restrain them long enough for them both to calm down.
• Big Brother Instinct: Both he and Red Blade would save Steel Barricade when he tried committing suicide in despair thanks to Night Shade's actions. And while Steel Barricade healed in the royal infirmary, he and Forging Scale would visit him, during which they both swore to help their ailing brother recover from his depression and atone for his mistakes.
• Brutal Honesty: Implied, as his epithet is "the Speaker of Truth". Fanged Paw's entry mentions that he can be blunt himself, just not to the extent of his younger brother. It's deconstructed in that his bluntness partially contributed to his extremely strained relationship with Steel Barricade, who at the time was an even worse Insufferable Genius, to the point where they both got in a duel that destroyed a portion of the Terran Empire. And unlike you SORRY EXCUSES for sapient beings, Jasper has done more for this world than ANY of you could've DREAMED of, despite his flaws.

• Adaptational Badass: Primarch Sanguinius is a powerful and beloved military leader and warrior, but a weak psyker whose notable ability is his foresight. Here in the Codexverse, he's an Alicorn demigod who embodies Hope, Love (specifically Storge Love), Light, and Prophecy, making him much more powerful than his character inspiration. In addition, unlike Sanguinius, he accepted his vampirism and makes use of the unique abilities that were granted by it.
• Adaptational Heroism: While Primarch Sanguinius was loyal to the Imperium, and was one of the nicest and most benevolent Primarchs, he still shared the Imperium's xenophobic beliefs and its collective willingness to kill xeno races for humanity's prosperity and survival. Here, he doesn't have his character inspiration's xenophobia, and while he initially neglected his son, Hopeful Moon, for being a reminder of how he got cursed by a Count Dracolt, he saw the error of his ways thanks to Golden Scepter and became a better parent for Hopeful to make amends for his mistake.
• Always Identical Twins: Averted with him and Night Shade. After Ascending to demi-godhood, Night Shade became as tall as he is, and because of their contrasting appearances and domains, they are sometimes mistaken to be twins. They're actually not, as Night Shade was born sometime after he was.
• Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Terran Alicorn demigod who embodies Hope, Love, Light, and Prophecy. It's believed in-universe that he embodies Golden Scepter's hope and idealism, which might explain his generally optimistic and compassionate personality.
• Armor-Piercing Question: He would receive one from Golden Scepter regarding his son, Hopeful Moon. After telling him a story about High King Irminsul and his abusive realtionship with his own son, Temnobog, Golden Scepter asked Bright Eyes if he was willing to become like Irminsul, damning an innocent child and sacrificing its hopes, dreams, and future for the sake of his own happiness. This caused Bright Eyes to realize he let his traumas influence him into becoming abusive himself, and vowed to be the loving parent that Irminsul was not after spending some time with Hopeful.
• Battle in the Center of the Mind: He and Written Word participated in one. Although they rescued Rosy Dreams from Sweet Words, she was in a coma by the time they found her because Sweet Words created a nightmarish dream entity to imprison her within her own mind as punishment for defying him. Night Shade suggested "mind-walking" into Rosy's dream world, having previously seen and experienced a similar situation with Silver Bane, so he and Written Word did just that with Crimson Star's help, and battled the dream entity keeping Rosy prisoner. Once the dream entity was weakened, they encouraged Rosy to land the final blow, and she woke up from her coma when she succeeded.
• Big Eater: Justified. After his son, Hopeful Moon, was "born", he started eating more food in addition to blood to sustain both himself and Hopeful. This led to Hopeful becoming a chubby baby, though he would lose some of it once he became a toddler.
• Close to Home:
  • He hates Abusive Parents due to learning from Golden Scepter what High King Irminsul had done to both his unborn son and Temnobog, and realizing that he himself nearly went down the same path with Hopeful Moon. This led to him greatly sympathizing with Temnobog and Belyolen, who are the living bifurcated parts of Irminsul's unborn son. He was also rather appalled when he learned of Golden Scepter's past emotional neglect of his adoptive daughter, Queen Majesty, though he forgave his father as Golden Scepter had realized the error of his ways and truly changed.
  • He gets rather angry with those who crush the hopes of innocents, whether for sadistic enjoyment or for selfish reasons. He is completely disgusted with Irminsul, who mutilated and killed his unborn son in trying to make him a perfect and flawless god, and abused Temnobog for being born "evil" despite not doing anything to truly earn his mistreatment. This is because Bright Eyes nearly did the same thing to Hopeful Moon during a low point in his life, but realized his mistake after Golden Scepter asked him if he was willing to damn a child for the sake of his own happiness.

When Sweet Words, Rosy Dream's insane abusive father, tried to run and grab at Rosy Dreams in the courtroom at his sentencing, Prince Bright Eyes' response is to immediately draw his powered sword faster than even some of his brothers can see and slice off one of Sweet Words' hooves before he could reach her.

What makes this an ironic power is that he's a vampire, and one of their major weaknesses is light.

Through this domain, his psychic empathy is enhanced further, and he gravitates towards those who love their families very much or are falling out of love with them. This gives him the ability to help fix these bonds if their relationships are deteriorating or forcibly broken by those who separate family from their own kin. However, he can also sever these bonds, which he uses to help free people from toxic, abusive families. As the embodiment of Storge Love, Bright Eyes is empowered by the presence of familial love and grows stronger when there's a massive abundance of it, though the opposite can happen if there's so little.

• Mister Seahorse: Averted in a weird way. He created Hopeful Moon by trying to suppress his vampirism, which technically makes him Hopeful Moon's "mother". However, due to the unique nature and circumstnaces of Hopeful Moon's birth, the only way he can interact with his son is by entering his own mind.
• One-Man Army: Prince Bright Eyes is one of the most capable warriors among the Terran Princes, capable of tearing through ranks of opponents both on the ground and in the air thanks to his abilities and empowerment from domains, his vampiric nature and his status as one of the older demigod scions of Emperor Golden Scepter. He demonstrates this during the Giant Wars in one battle by throwing his spear through the skull of one Jotunn, cut off the head of a Fomorian with his sword, and searing a gaping hole through the body of a Gigantes with a beam of light, all in quick succession, terrifying the rest of the mix-group Rampage of hostile Giants into retreat.
• One-Steve Limit: Averted. There is another pony named Professor Bright Eyes, who was a heroine and member of the "Tales/Virtuous Seven" group that existed in the Second Age. The fact that he's Named After Somebody Famous would give him a lot of insecurities concerning his ability to live up to his namesake's legacy, though Golden Scepter would assure him that the legacy he carries is still his own, and he still loves him regardless of his choices and accomplishments. Once Professor Bright Eyes comes Back from the Dead as Princess Bright Eyes, there was much confusion until she is renamed Princess Themis Machina.
• Papa Wolf: Having adopted Rosy Dreams, Prince Bright Eyes is notably protective of her, especially from Rosy Dreams' insane biological father Sweet Words. When Sweet Words made an attempt to grab at Rosy Dreams in the courtroom at his sentencing, Prince Bright Eyes unhesitantly protected her by drawing and slicing off one of Sweet Words' hooves with his Blade Encarmine faster than even some of his brothers can see.
  Prince Bright Eyes: [After cutting off Sweet Words' hoof] No. Rosy Dreams is not yours to hurt any longer. And you will never touch her again.
• Parental Substitute: He became Rosy Dreams' adoptive father since, thanks to Sweet Words, her mother killed herself by putting herself in a coma after she was crippled in an "accident" while Rosy's uncle and servants were killed to keep them from reporting his actions. This went a long way in helping Rosy recover from years of isolation and sexual abuse, as unlike Sweet Words, Bright Eyes is a loving parent who encouraged her to do whatever she liked.
• Psychic Powers: Much like Primarch Sanguinius, Bright Eyes has precognitive abilities, except as the Alicorn demigod of Prophecy, his foresight is on a greater scale than those possessed by even his older brother, Crimson Star. Unlike Sanguinius, however, Bright Eyes' entry notes that he is skilled in psionic magic, bearing abilities like telepathy and psionic telekinesis, though he admits that Crimson Star is more powerful than him in this regard. His psychic powers allowed him to hear Rosy Dreams' telepathic cries for help, though he and Written Word had to be guided to Rosy's home by the spirit of Dust Bunny, Rosy's maid, in order to rescue the filly from Sweet Words.
• Reincarnation: Discussed. A heated argument with Written Word later causes Golden Scepter to wonder if all of his sons, including Bright Eyes, are reincarnations of the same Generals that he had "treated so poorly". Luminiferous assures him that even if they are, all of his sons are still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings, and he has enough knowledge and experience to ensure that they'll have the "brighter future" that his Generals did not. It's later revealed that he's the reincarnation of General Sanguine Light, said to be one of the greatest and most benevolent of the Golden Generals.
• Related in the Adaptation: Rosy Dreams and Gliding Butterfly are his adoptive children, and Mercy is his adoptive niece. Queen Hylia the Wise is his paternal aunt, while Radiant Primrose is technically his 'niece' since she's Hylia's cyclic reincarnation. All of this was completely nonexistent in the characters' respective canons.
• Seers: As the Alicorn demigod of Prophecy, he has precognitive abilities like Crimson Star, but his are more potent and accurate than his brother's. He can receive flashes during the day, which allows him to predict and avoid his opponent's attacks, but it's noted his visions are enhanced when he's asleep. He can grant these visions to others if he desires.
• Semi-Divine: Has a demi-divine heritage by virtue of his father, Golden Scepter, being an extremely ancient and powerful Alicorn god. After he Ascended, he himself became an Alicorn demigod, the Codexverse equivalent of an infant divine.
• Sibling Team: During the "Storm King Crisis", he would work closely with one of his younger brothers, Written Word, in inspiring Faith and Hope in the mortal populace by protecting those caught in the crossfire, and motivating soldiers by giving them a reason to continue fighting. Written Word's entry notes that it's not the first time this happened, as they had teamed up in the past.
• Sink or Swim Fatherhood: Subverted. As Hopeful Moon was "born" rather unexpectedly during a particularly low point in his life, so he was not in the right mind to raise him, even though he did accept Hopeful as his son thanks to Golden Scepter. Because of this, his older/younger brothers all pledged to help him look after Hopeful until he made a full psychological recovery.
• Spared by the Adaptation: In 40k canon, Primarch Sanguinius died trying to stop his own brother and the Arch-Traitor, Horus Lupercal, during the Horus Heresy. Here in the Codexverse, as Bright Eyes, he's alive because Golden Scepter being a good parent ensured that a similar catastrophe would never happen.
• Super-Speed: Prince Bright Eyes is noted to be a Lightning Bruiser, and can react and move so fast even some of his brothers can't track him.
• Telepathy: One of his psychic abilities is telepathy. This allowed him and Written Word to hear Rosy Dreams' telepathic cries for help, though he and his brother had to be guided by Dust Bunny's spirit in order to go to Rosy's home and rescue her from her sexually abusive father.
• That Thing Is Not My Child!: Played straight at first. After running away from the Terran Empire, he would have prophetic dreams about an infant Bat pony who acknowledged him as his parent and tried getting his attention, and the dreams would become increasingly real. But due to suffering from trauma, depression, and self-loathing at the time, Bright Eyes rejected the Bat pony since it reminded him of the Count Dracolt who cursed him with vampirism. Even after Golden Scepter found him and found the infant Bat pony residing in his son's mind, Bright Eyes refused to see him as his child. Golden Scepter put an end to this harmful mindset by telling Bright Eyes a story about High King Irminsul and his abusive relationship with Temnobog, and asking him if he wanted to damn an innocent child for the sake of his own happiness as Irminsul had done. Bright Eyes realized his mistake and named his infant son "Hopeful Moon", vowing to become the loving parent for his son that Irminsul wasn't.

• Beware the Quiet Ones: Much like Lion El'Jonson, he is quiet, reserved, and antisocial among his brothers. But if you give him cause to be mad at you, he won't chastise you or anything — rather, as Prince Raven Wing put it, he would express his absolute disappointment with actions that would make you regret ever doing whatever you did to piss him off.
  • Best shown during his and the Dark Angels chapter's participation of the Talon Bais War. While a dragon- and monster-slayer himself, he was similarly horrified and enraged by the racist, genocidal atrocities the dragonslayer kingdom's regime and society committed against the dragons, but kept his opinions to himself. He would proceed to express his disappointment and contempt of Talon Bais' evil actions by ordering the complete obliteration of one of its city, a major military target infamous for its Draco-Balut dishes, subjecting it to massive, sustained and relentless aerial bombardment from his aerial flagship Invincible Reason and its accompanying Dark Angels and Imperial Terran Armada aerial fleets until nothing is left but cratered desolation.
• Cool Ship: His aerial flagship is the Invincible Reason, and like its counterparts which his fellow Terran Princes have it is a titanic aerial dreadnaught possessing enough firepower to rival whole aerial fleets, capable of taking out an aerial cruiser with just one shot. It is so intimidating that it induces crushing existential terror upon certain witnesses: during the Talon Baisian War, despite technically fighting on the same side, many old-school dragons who witnessed it reportedly fell into depression and denial not only because they fear its might, but also realizing the implications it represents, as it was built by those who they would normally had razed, pillaged and devoured with impunity. If the genocidal dragonslayers of Talon Bais reminded all how dangerous non-dragon races could be to dragons, Invincible Reason showed just how outmatched they are imminently becoming, heralding the twilight of their time of dominance and impunity.

• Massive Numbered Siblings: Is the tenth-born son out of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has nine older brothers and nine younger brothers.
• Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Gave one, presumably upon ordering the bombardment and total destruction of a Talon Baisian city (a major military target also infamous of its Draco-Balut dishes]) during the Talon Bais War, which summarized his entire view on and his response to the dragonslayer kingdom's racist, genocidal atrocities against dragons in his usual quiet, reserved and straightforward manner.

Golden Scepter proceeded to tell his sons stories of both the Alicorn Civilization's Free-Love Future and his past sex life, kicking off a series of events where Prince Written Word moved past his worshipful idolization of his father and Ascended to demi-godhood by liberating a Pony kingdom from a Religion of Evil made by demons. In other words, Written Word's development, as well as hundreds of innocent lives, hinged on one Terran Prince and his personal dilemma.
• Tranquil Fury: Prince Emerald Lion, despite having been a monster/dragon-slayer himself, was reportedly just as horrified and furious at the atrocities committed upon innocent Dragons by the dragon-slayers and fanatical regime of Talon Bais, but kept his opinions to himself. This is not because he doesn't care or not have something to say about it; rather, as Prince Raven Wing (Also a quiet person himself) explained, he believes that actions speaks louder than words, and it was believe his total destruction of a city in Talon Bais (a major military target which also makes and exports Draco-Balut dishes) by aerial bombardment from his chapter's and Terran Empire's aerial vessels during the war summarizes everything he felt about the Talon-Baisians' atrocities.
  Prince Raven Wing: Our brother is quiet and reserved, but this is not because he has no opinions. No... he believes action speaks louder than words, and if his absolute disappointment of anything should be made known, a sanction makes a better statement than a speech.
• There Is No Kill Like Overkill: His views on the Talon Bàis kingdom's atrocities against innocent dragons — like making dishes out of fertilized but unhatched Dragon eggs — is summarized in the complete obliteration of an entire city in the kingdom (which incidentally made said Draco-Balut dishes) during the Talon Bais War by the Dark Angels chapter through mass sustained aerial bombardment, after the few innocents in the city were evacuated by elements of the Raven Guard.
• Undying Loyalty: As his personal motto attests, despite his flaws, he is unambiguously loyal to his father, his family and the Terran Empire, and requires no recognition or reward for it.

• Adaptational Badass: While Mortarion is a badass Primarch in canon, here as Death Shroud, he's a powerful, legitimate demigod who managed to achieve his own Ascension. He has the potential to become a full-on divine like his father if he chooses to.
• Adaptational Heroism: Primarch Mortarion betrayed the Emperor of Mankind during the Horus Heresy out of extreme bitterness and resentment towards his "father"/gene-sire, and became a Chaos champion of Nurgle. Here, Death Shroud is a benevolent demi-Alicorn Prince because his father, Golden Scepter, raised him and his brothers with love, ensuring that a similar catastrophe would never happen and thus never giving Death Shroud a reason to turn traitor.
• Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn demigod who embodies Death, Resilience, Poison, and Chemistry.
• Assassin Outclassin': In one incident a Griffon Autorist tried assassinating Golden Scepter for opposing the Autorist movement by sending him a magical plague bomb. Fortunately, Death Shroud would stop and contain the plague bomb before it could kill his father, though its smell was so rotten that he unleashed a bunch of inflammatory curses in response.
• Berserk Button: Death Shroud despises evil necromancers.

• Cluster F-Bomb: In one incident, he unleashed a bunch of inflammatory curses after he stopped and contained the plague bomb a Griffon Autorist sent to assassinate Golden Scepter, but wasn't fast enough to avoid its rotten smell.
• Cool Uncle: Implied; he loves his adoptive niece, Mercy, despite her being a sapient divine sword. And like his older/younger brothers, he is willing to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon that seeks to turn Mercy into a holy weapon in their zealous crusades.

• Laser-Guided Karma: He and his brothers, Red Blade and Fanged Paw, would team up to give a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to Crimson Star to punish him for being an Insufferable Genius, even after the latter was blinded and suffered an emotional breakdown following his Jerkass Realization. They ended up attracting the wrath of Blazing Hoof, who would physically confront them in a brotherly fury, as well as Golden Scepter, who was furious with them that he psychically showed his sons the torment Crimson Star was going through following his accident.

• Massive Numbered Siblings: Is the twelfth-born son out of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has eleven older brothers and seven younger brothers.
• No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: It's revealed in a Codexverse drabble that he and his brothers, Red Blade and Fanged Paw, teamed up to deliver one to Crimson Star to punish him for being an Insufferable Genius, even after Crimson Star was blinded. It's deconstructed in that Crimson Star fell into a severe depression following his loss of sight and his Jerkass Realization, and willingly turned himself into a scapegoat so everyone, including his own brothers, can retaliate against him as they saw fit, not caring if he'll possibly die or not. This made his brothers' retaliation against him at this point rather vicious, disproportionate and petty, something that would earn them the wrath of their father, and the cold shoulder of those of their brothers who didn't agree with them.
• Papa Wolf: He was furious over the implications that Rosy Dreams was Mind Rapeed by her father Sweet Words via creating 'The Chaser' with dream magic, and proceeded to head over to the dungeons to personally punish Sweet Words for his perverse cruelty. This leads to a physical quarrel with his brothers as they try to prevent him from doing anything rash, causing Codex Equus interviewer Jade Shell to retreat back into her tortoise shell.
• Pay Evil unto Evil:
  • He believed that bullying Crimson Star for being an Insufferable Genius was justified. It's deconstructed in that even after Crimson Star was blinded in a carriage accident and fell into a severe depression after his Jerkass Realization, his brothers continued bullying and tormenting him. It got to a point where Crimson Star willingly turned himself into a scapegoat so everyone, including his own brothers, can retaliate against him as they saw fit, not caring if he'll possibly end up dying or not.   • It's rumored that he once begged Golden Scepter to let him punish Trench Bull himself for all the horrible things she had done to her own students. As Trench Bull was already tried and imprisoned for life for her crimes, Golden Scepter refused and nipped his son's plan in the bud.

However, while he won, he spent much of the war recovering from all the damage he endured, something which his older/younger brothers would chide him for out of worry.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Implied; entries mention that he was initially willing to punish Crimson Star for being an Insufferable Genius by joining his brothers' No-Holds-Barred Beatdown. However, after being called out by his father and brothers for his actions, he eventually learned the error of his ways and became a benevolent Prince, Ascending to demi-godhood in the process.
• Victory by Endurance: During a fight with an evil demigod allied with Autorist and Tribalist factions, he takes all the demigod's hits as well as his own attacks that were reflected by the demigod's domain of Reflection. He ends up winning, partially thanks to his own domain of Resilience and partially due to his demigod opponent being far less resilient and strong-willed than him. His victory contributed to the allied anti-Autorist/Tribalist forces' overall victory, but spent much of the war recovering from all the damage he received, something which his older/younger brothers would chide him for out of worry.
• What the Hell, Hero?: Both on the giving and receiving ends.
  • He would be given the cold shoulder by those of his brothers who were rightly disgusted and angry with how he treated Crimson Star after he was blinded in a carriage accident.
  • Later, sometime after Ascending to demi-godhood, he would join a few of his brothers in calling out Night Shade for siding with the Poenan Pantheon when they catch him participating in a Poenan crusade, as well as the general hypocrisy of Night Shade's morals and actions. Death Shroud's speech is particularly damning.

    Prince Death Shroud: I think I understand PLENTY ENOUGH! Think you're all GOOD and HOLY for not screwing up as monumentally as I and my brothers did?! Well, YOU'RE WRONG! NOW YOU WILL BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR OWN MISDEEDS!

• Expy: Of Primarch Jaghatai Khan.
• Hidden Depths: While very much a Warrior Prince who prefers hunting and battling over politics, deep down he is a cultured, intelligent, and perceptive stallion. This echoes Primarch Jaghatai Khan, who was distrusted by much of the Imperium for his 'barbarian' ways and preferred to avoid dealing with local politics, but was a rather insightful man.
• The Magnificent: Known as "the Speeding Warhawk".
• Necessarily Evil: While he's the least comfortable with politics and governance out of all his biological/adoptive siblings, instead preferring the thrills of battle and hunting, he believes that lying is necessary for even the most noble of sovereigns/leaders to rule wisely.
  Prince Whirling Cyclone: It is said by many, myself included, that all rulers are liars. But that is not as damning as the saying suggests - necessity and circumstances often meant even the most noble and honourable sovereign or leader must sometimes make compromises in order to govern and command wisely.
  
  And sometimes, though it loathes me to say so, it is necessary for a ruler to deceive, even those under their rule, either to achieve a better outcome otherwise impossible, or because some truths had to be buried because few could bear the burden of responsibility which comes with the knowledge.
• Rousing Speech: He gave one to his military chapter, the White Scars, before they launch into yet another battle against the Vile Horde from the Frightlands.
  Whirling Cyclone: Brothers of the steppes! Sisters of the plains! Take heed, for another great hunt calls to us once again! Truly, there are few like us - the red haze of battle is our stable, and the respect of comrades is our hearth. When we plunge into our enemies' ranks like a blade, and cut off their heads, we shall know contentment. My father has given us strength - and from us, we shall give him VICTORY!

• Adaptational Badass: Primarch Angron was a powerful, vicious warrior, but a weak "psyker" who lost his empathic powers when the Butcher's Nails were implanted into him, replaced with the ability is to inspire raging bloodlust in his followers. Here, Red Blade is a powerful Alicorn demigod with stronger psychic powers, with massive potential to become even more powerful once he Ascends to true godhood. Not having the Butcher's Nails, and having to learn self-discipline and restraint, turned him into a very effective warrior with a clearer mind.

As a result, he became a bloodthirsty, rage-driven horror who literally could only think of fighting, and was the first of the Primarchs to side with Chaos (though part of it was due to Lorgar wanting to save his brother's life). By contrast, Red Blade didn't get the Butcher's Nails and thus never had a reason to betray his family, though he did start off as a Bully Hunter who gradually veered into Knight Templar territory. A series of events made him realize how dangerous anger can get if left uncontrolled, pushing him to practice self-discipline and restraint as a way to temper his anger.
• Adaptational Nice Guy: Primarch Angron was a bloodthirsty, rage-driven horror thanks to the Butcher's Nails planted in his head, and he deeply resented the Emperor of Mankind for not letting him die alongside his fellow slave gladiators. By contrast, Red Blade was a shy yet kindhearted foal who became a Bully Hunter to protect the weak, but slowly let his anger influence him to where he became a bully himself. After personally witnessing the consequences of uncontrolled wrath, passion, and zealotry, he started practicing self-discipline and restraint, turning him into a stoic and serious yet benevolent demigod.
• Anthropomorphic Personification: He's an Alicorn god who embodies Martial Arts, Freedom, and Temperance. It's believed in-universe that he embodies Golden Scepter's terrible wrath, which might explain his anger issues and the lengths he took to control himself after realizing this.
• Badass and Child Duo: He's a demi-Alicorn Warrior Prince with lots of experience and power under his hooves. Mercy, a sentient divine sword who would become his weapon and adoptive "daughter", has the mind of a child and a filly's voice to match. It's noted that they travel together a lot, taking down tyrannical kingdoms and realms.
• Big Brother Instinct: Inverted.
  • One of his older brothers, Palatine Phoenix, was corrupted by malicious outside forces. Supernatural elements aside, the circumstances behind it fueled his initial distrust of his adoptive daughter, Mercy, but he eventually grew to love and accept her for who she is.
  • He would go through this again when both he and Clear Voice found Steel Barricade trying to killing himself out of guilt and self-loathing towards his own mistakes. While they successfully stopped him, Steel Barricade still harmed himself to where he was hospitalized for his injuries.
• Bully Hunter: Deconstructed. He became one after being subjected to constant bullying and then later catching his bullies tormenting a disabled student. While his actions made him feared and respected, his family was worried that his anger would lead him down a bad path. Their fears would be proven true when he, Fanged Paw, and Death Shroud gave a blinded Crimson Star a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown following his carriage accident. He was exiled by Golden Scepter as punishment, but he was still convinced he was right. Meeting the Poenan Pantheon and seeing their similarly zealous wrath left him shaken, but it wasn't until he inspired a bloody revolution in a tyrannical kingdom that got out of control that he finally realized the source of his family's concerns. He swore never to let his emotions and wrath run loose again, triggering his Ascension.
• Children Raise You: While he Took a Level in Kindness during his exile by realizing how harmful his anger can be and how he had been an awful person to Crimson Star, his entry notes that what humanized him even further was becoming Mercy's adoptive "father". Initially, Red Blade had no idea how to take care of a child, much less a sapient divine sword, and heavily relied on his father and brothers for help. In addition, he also distrusted Mercy because previously, one of his older brothers, Palatine Phoenix, was possessed by a demonic sword he had acquired at one point. Eventually, Red Blade came to love Mercy as his own daughter and helped her deal with issues such as her fear of killing and her sense of abandonment after Silver Bane left her behind, and he would gain a newfound sense of maturity from the experience. This led to him clashing with his more mischievous brothers because he disapproves of the influence they have on Mercy.
• Cloudcuckoolander: He's portrayed by The Clovenists as a "mad" stallion who adopted Mercy, a Talking Weapon, as his daughter to make him and his family look like incompetent tyrants who must be overthrown for the good of all. Thankfully, he and Mercy have a lot of people willing to defend and protect them from the Clovenists.
• Curbstomp Battle:
  • At one point, he faced off against an unrepentantly evil champion who used flashy sword moves against him. Completely unimpressed with the frivolous display, he chose not to dignify the champion with his pair of axes, only using a sword he picked up earlier as a trophy to unceremoniously stab his foe in the chest mid-whirl before cutting the champion's head off. Prince Palatine Phoenix, who watched from the sidelines, was rather disappointed in how the fight ended so quickly.
    Prince Palatine Phoenix: Well... that was anti-climatic.
  • In another instance, he clashed with an incredibly cocky mage-assassin who claimed he "doesn't stand a chance" while trying to kill him. He dispatched the mage-assassin with two blows from his axes before the latter could even cast his spells.
    Mercy: You were right, my papa didn't stand a chance... He stand a CERTAINTY!
• Deity of Human Origin: He was originally a mortal demi-divine Earth pony until he Ascended to demi-godhood by realizing the consequences of bearing irrational rage and hatred, and learning how to control himself and his allies through self-restraint and discipline.
• Divine Parentage: He's the sixteenth demi-divine son of Emperor Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies, a mortal pegasus mare. This would make him Long-Lived until he Ascended and became an Alicorn demigod.
• Dreadlock Warrior: Unlike Angron, who looked like he had dreadlocks due to the Butcher's Nails, he has a mane and tail that are both styled into dreadlocks, which turned into perpetually looping molten lava once he Ascended to demi-godhood. He's one of the most combat-oriented Terran Princes, as he's a demigod who embodies Martial Arts on top of being an experienced warrior, leader, and revolutionary.
• Dual Wielding: His main weapons are a pair of axes, though his entry notes that he had sometimes used swords as well.
• Due to the Dead: Following a rather chaotic battle in the "Terra Equus Continental War", he and his World Eaters chapter would honor a fallen warrior from an allied kingdom who fought with valour and courage to the bitter end. Notably, he chose to do this despite not knowing the dead warrior's name or rank because it's the right thing to do.
  Prince Red Blade: To the honoured dead, hail.
  World Eaters: HAIL!
• Elemental Hair Composition: His mane and tail are now composed of perpetually looping molten lava. Ironically, he doesn't have elemental powers like a few of his brothers despite this, though it's likely symbolic of his self-control over his wrathful nature.
• Escape Artist: As the Alicorn demigod of Freedom, he cannot be held down, imprisoned, or restrained. This is because his domain of Freedom gives him an innate, psychic knowledge of who or what is holding him, allowing him to break free of almost anything. As part of his domain, he can inspire people to become this en masse with Rousing Speeches and empower them with the power and knowledge to free themselves. However, it will not work if people willingly choose not to free themselves. His entry notes that his domain of Freedom is similar to Choice's domain of Free Will, which makes him very dangerous; many people have tried persuading him to use his Freedom domain for unsavory goals such as freeing sapientkind from "evil". He either responds with a damning refusal, or a hoof to the face.
• The Empath: Like Primarch Angron pre-Butcher's Nails, he has psychic empathy, except here it's due to being the Alicorn demigod of Temperance, and his empathy is much more powerful. He can produce an empathic aura that ebbs negative emotions like rage, envy, and lust, and encourages people to become kinder and more virtuous. This aura also makes him a calming and relaxing presence for both his hot-tempered brothers and those who are inclined to anger, such as Yarost, the Bogolenya Deer god of Fury and Hatred. Like his father, Golden Scepter, he can "emotion-bomb" people with the suffering they have inflicted on others with their actions.
• Expy: Of Primarch Angron, though much of his character and backstory takes heavy influence from RH!Angron.
• Four-Star Badass: Much like Angron, he is the military leader of his own military chapter, the World Eaters, and he is a powerful demi-Alicorn Prince of the Terran Empire, able to lead his forces and even kick ass by himself.
• Good Parents: For all his flaws, he nevertheless tried to be the loving father Mercy needed in the absence of her original wielder and Parental Substitute, Silver Bane. He helped her understand that Silver Bane had to leave her behind to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon, and he helped her get over her fear of killing by teaching her that killing is only acceptable if people are being genuinely evil and unrepentant, with no other way to resolve things peacefully. While he's very protective of Mercy due to the Poenan Pantheon's efforts in taking her back, and is disapproving of his mischievous brothers' influence on her, he's also very proud of Mercy and her accomplishments, and lets Mercy accompany him on his travels and assist him in toppling tyrannical regimes. His kindness as a father is what influenced Mercy to become a benevolent hero and a weapon of "true" Justice.
  • In a Codexverse drabble, he also comforted Mercy when she started feeling sad over not being an Alicorn like her adoptive father, uncles, and grandfather, since as a sword, she wouldn't be able to hug people. It's noted that he still gave Mercy a big hug anyway.
    Mercy: ...I wish I was an Alicorn like you, Papa.
    Prince Red Blade: And why is that, Mercy?
    Mercy: ...I wanna hug you better...
    Prince Red Blade: Oh, Mercy... even if you aren't an Alicorn or you can't hug me better, I'll still love you very much. You are my daughter, and nothing will ever change that.
    Mercy: ...Promise?
    Prince Red Blade: I promise.
• Guilt Complex: Sometime after he Ascended to demi-godhood, he developed a guilt complex over some of his past actions, such as starting a bloody revolt that claimed the innocent children of the rulers of several despotic kingdoms, and leaving his own brother, Crimson Star, near death for acting like an Insufferable Genius. His guilt over Crimson Star increased when he learned his mistreatment partially led to Crimson Star becoming permanently blind following his accident. He eventually got over it, though, and it was noted that he was surprised when Crimson Star forgave him and never once blamed him for his blindness, which he saw as a punishment for his own foolishness.
• Heroic Lineage: He is the sixteenth son of Golden Scepter, an antediluvian Alicorn Emperor who is an incredibly powerful psychic, a peerless genius and warrior, and a very competent leader who founded three empires in his lifetime. In addition, he's regarded as a legendary war hero even among the Alicorns, who were all saved from complete extinction thanks to his efforts. If his being inspired by Primarch Angron is to go by, he supposedly embodies Golden Scepter's fury.
• Heroes Prefer Swords: Subverted. While he has sometimes used swords, his main weapons are a pair of axes.
• He Who Fights Monsters: He became a Bully Hunter when he saw his bullies pick on a disabled classmate. Unfortunately, he let his righteous anger twist into something monstrous, later influencing him to join Fanged Paw and Death Shroud in beating up Crimson Star for his Insufferable Genius behavior. Not only did he get chewed out by his horrified brothers for it, but he was also exiled from the Terran Empire by Emperoro Golden Scepter as punishment.
• Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted. He was an adult by the time he Ascended, but as an Alicorn demigod, he is the divine equivalent to a newborn baby, due to the nature of divine growth in the Codexverse. Because he's the son of a very old and powerful Alicorn god, he already started showing eldritch traits such as a volcanic appearance and dreadlocks made of perpetually-looping molten lava.
• Instant Expert: His domain of Martial Arts gives him a natural intuition that allows him to learn and adapt to various fighting styles, making him one of the most combat-inclined Terran Princes. However, it's subverted in his statement that his domain does not guarantee "instant mastery", as he still needs practice and experience in order to use his newfound skills correctly and efficiently.
• Laser-Guided Karma: He and his brothers, Death Shroud and Fanged Paw, would gang up on Crimson Star after he was blinded and give him a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown to punish him for being an Insufferable Genius, even after the latter was blinded and suffered an emotional breakdown following his Jerkass Realization. They ended up attracting the wrath of Blazing Hoof, who would physically confront them in a brotherly fury, as well as Golden Scepter, who was furious with them that he psychically showed his sons the torment Crimson Star was going through following his accident.
• Like a Son to Me: After receiving the sentient sword, Mercy, from Silver Bane, he started treating Mercy like his own daughter. This led to them having a close father-daughter relationship, along with Mercy being officially adopted by him as his "daughter".
• Magic Hair: It's noted that post-Ascension, his dreadlocks turned into perpetually looping molten lava.
• The Magnificent: Known as "the Master of Wrath", due to having taken control of his uncontrollable temper after realizing the consequences of letting his anger run loose, and repurposing it for beneficial uses instead.
• Massive Numbered Siblings: Is the sixteenth-born son out of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has fifteen older brothers and three younger brothers.
• Missing Child: This happens with his adoptive daughter Mercy twice.
  • He, his older brother Prince Steel Barricade, and Sonic Song would experience this when Magical Hymn and Mercy simultaneously went missing during a meeting, and scrambled to find them both. They discovered they both wandered off to go play, only to encounter an evil demon that they both easily defeated. His entry reveals that he scolded Mercy for her actions afterwards.

    Prince Red Blade: And where's Mercy?
    Prince Steel Barricade: So... we've got a super powerful divine magic sword with the mind of a child and a ten year old with the holy magic equivalent to an army missing at the same time.
    Sonic Song: ...Find them, NOW.
  • In a Codexverse drabble, both he and his brothers panicked after Mercy inexplicably went missing and spent some time looking for her. It turns out Mercy left home based on a joke made by Fanged Paw that she interpreted literally. Fortuantely, Golden Scepter found and took Mercy home after talking with her.
• Modest Royalty: It's noted he wears royal dark red regalia with bright red and gold accents, though he only dons it out of obligation and status identification, and will find an excuse not to wear it if he can.
• No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: It's revealed in a Codexverse drabble, and confirmed in his entry, that he and his older brothers, Death Shroud, and Fanged Paw, teamed up to deliver one to Crimson Star to punish him for being an Insufferable Genius, even after Crimson Star was blinded. It's deconstructed in that Crimson Star fell into such a severe depression following his loss of sight and his Jerkass Realization that he became suicidal, and turned himself into a Silent Scapegoat out of sheer guilt for his actions. This made his brothers' retaliation against him rather disproportionate and petty, something that would earn them the wrath of their father, and the cold shoulder by those of their brothers who didn't agree with them.
• No-Sell: Much like Choice, the deity of Free Will, he has the ability to escape from any attempts to restrain and/or imprison him. His entry explains this as being granted innate psychic knowledge of what or who is currently holding him, allowing him to figure out how to free himself.
• Papa Wolf:
  • Mercy's entry notes that once the Poenan Pantheon got wind of her sentience, many of them immediately called for her purification, thinking she was "corrupted" by Silver Bane after he left the Poenan Pantheon and turned "evil". Naturally, this prompted Red Blade and his brothers to protect Mercy, even though the Poenans' purification magic isn't likely to affect Mercy at all due to a lack of corruption on her part.
  • He also nearly lost his temper in the courtroom when Honey Bee informed him of Trench Bull's statement that she admired Rosy Dreams' father, "Mr. Boar", for his use of dream magic to keep his young daughter in line, and desired to "shake his hoof".
• Parental Substitute: Mercy's entry implies that he became a father figure of sorts for the sentient sword, as it's mentioned he began treating Mercy "like his own daughter" after she was given into his care by her previous wielder, Silver Bane the Dark Hunter. It worked, as Mercy became as benevolent as him despite being originally a divine Poenan weapon.
• Parents as People: He genuinely didn't expect to become the father of Mercy, but he had to be one in light of Silver Bane leaving her in his care to protect Mercy from the Poenan Pantheon. While he's quite protective of Mercy due to the Poenans' efforts to take her back, and is often frustrated with the influence his more mischievous brothers have on her, he's also extremely proud of Mercy and lets her accompany him on his travels, acting as his assistant in toppling tyrannical regimes. His kindness as a father played a role in Mercy's growth into a benevolent hero and a weapon of "true" Justice, and for her heroic deeds, she was later christened "the Eater of Worlds" to replace the title of "the Holy Blade" the Poenans gave her.
• Pay Evil unto Evil: He believed that bullying Crimson Star for being an Insufferable Genius was justified. It's deconstructed in that even after Crimson Star was blinded in a carriage accident and fell into a severe depression afterwards because of his Jerkass Realization, Red Blade and his brothers continued bullying and tormenting him. It got to a point where Crimson Star became suicidal and turned himself into a scapegoat out of sheer guilt, not caring if he'll possibly end up dying or not. Red Blade's actions would earn the wrath of their father, Golden Scepter, who would exile him as punishment, and the cold shoulder of his brothers who were rightly disgusted and angry with him. Blazing Hoof in particular was furious with Red Blade since he remembers how the latter was constantly bullied as a foal, so seeing Red Blade beat up Crimson Star and leave him near death made Red Blade no different than the bullies who tormented him in Blazing Hoof's eyes.
• Psychic Powers: His entry notes that he has psionic telekinesis that was taught to him by Golden Scepter, which proves incredibly useful if for some reason he can't use the magical telekinesis that is extremely common among unicorns. And as the Alicorn demigod of Temperance, he has telepathic and empathic abilities that allow him to ebb negative emotions and discourage harmful mindsets, and like Blue Suede Heartstrings, the Alicorn god of Humility, he possesses a form of precognition that shows him a person's future depending on the actions they take.
• "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He would give a Clovenist ambassador and their embassy one during a diplomatic meeting, after they implored him to join them and free the Terran Empire from his father's "tyranny". It's noted that this led to an attack on the Terran Empire by Clovenist insurgents that several people, including Prince Crimson Star and Jasper, helped resolve.
  Prince Red Blade: (to a diplomatic Clovenist embassy) Free my people from tyranny? I'm sorry, but I cannot fulfill your request for three reasons. The first is that the 'tyrant' you want me to overthrow is my Father. Even though our relationship is not perfect, I still love him with all my heart, and I am willing to defend him with my life if need be. The second is that I embody Temperance in all things; though Father is wise and benevolent, even he is not infallible, and it's up to me and others like me to remind him the folly of indulging in certain extremes.
  
  The third reason is that your request to 'free' my people from 'tyranny' is as backwards as it is wrong.
  
  My Father may have created lots of... mistakes in the past, but he realized his folly long ago and made huge efforts in atoning for them. If he hadn't, this empire you wanted to see destroyed would not have been born, and I certainly wouldn't be here holding this conversation with you. You, on the other hoof, accuse others of indulging in tyranny without finding proof of actual tyranny, and convert the people you conquer to a philosophy that is flawed to begin with, all while refusing to acknowledge that there might be tyranny growing and festering in your own lands. It is a mindset that stinks of hypocrisy, which makes you and your people no better than the tyrants my daughter and I face every day, or the Poenans who zealously seek the eradication of Evil itself by unjustly punishing those who are innocent or who have yet to commit evil acts.
  
  I may embody Freedom, but in all honesty, I would rather jump off a cliff than ally myself with a nation that boasts of holding certain values that it refuses to follow. You can call me anything you want, but know that if I catch any of you indulging in the same tyranny that you fervently oppose, then Mercy and I will not hesitate to deal with you as we had dealt with other tyrants in the past. Consider this diplomatic meeting over.
• Red and Black and Evil All Over: Averted. He's described as a black-furred Earth pony (and later Alicorn demigod) with red gradients on his legs, underbelly, hair, and face. While not evil, he was far more vindictive and temperamental when he was younger, as he reacted violently towards anyone who displayed bullying and/or tyrannical behavior, including one of his younger brothers, Crimson Star. This behavior initially attracted the Poenan Pantheon to him, but he refused, earning their undying enmity. He eventually changed his ways when a slave revolt he inspired got way out of hand and led to the deaths of innocent people, including a despotic royal family's young foals, causing him to realize that his anger was taking down a dark path and nearly cost him everything.
• Reincarnation: Discussed. A heated argument with Written Word later causes Golden Scepter to wonder if all of his sons, including Red Blade, are reincarnations of the same Generals that he had "treated so poorly". Luminiferous assures him that even if they are, all of his sons are still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings, and he has enough knowledge and experience to ensure that they'll have the "brighter future" that his Generals did not.
• Rousing Speech: As the Alicorn demigod of Freedom, he can rouse and inspire people with his speeches, with the additional ability of granting them the power and knowledge to free themselves from any situation.
• Seers: His entry notes that as the Alicorn demigod of Temperance, he possesses a form of precognition that shows him a person's future depending on the actions they take. This allows him to warn people of the consequences of pursuing vice, while encouraging good actions. It's noted by his entry that his precognition is heavily similar to Blue Suede Heartstrings' Humility-based precognition in this regard, except Blue focuses on discouraging unchecked Pride.
• Semi-Divine: He has a demi-divine heritage by virtue of his father, Golden Scepter, being an extremely ancient and powerful Alicorn god. After he Ascended, he became an Alicorn demigod, the Codexverse equivalent of an infant divine.
• Sink or Swim Fatherhood: He quite unexpectedly became the adoptive father of Mercy when Silver Bane arrived and left Mercy in his care to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon. While he initially had no idea how to raise a child and also distrusted Mercy due to being reminded of the demonic sword that possessed Palatine Phoenix, it's subverted in that he heavily relied on his father and brothers for help on parenting. He does eventually learn to love and accept Mercy for who she is, and he mans up and takes care of her on his own, causing him to be quite mature than some of his brothers.
• So Proud of You: His entry notes that while he's quite protective of Mercy due to the Poenan Pantheon constantly pursuing her, he's extremely proud of his adoptive "daughter" and lets her accompany him on his global travels. He was also proud when Mercy took it upon herself to be a "big sister" for Rosy Dreams, a young filly who was adopted by Bright Eyes after she was rescued from her sexually abusive biological father, which helped Rosy Dreams recover from her trauma.
  • And when Mercy did a Badass Boast during a confrontation with the mortal followers of one of the Poenan deities who helped craft her, it was noted that Red Blade was extremely proud of her for her defiance.
• The Stoic: Justified. He carries himself with a stoic and calm demeanor because he witnessed and realized the harmful consequences of letting his anger run loose, and swore never to let it happen again. But unlike Steel Barricade, who tries to repress all his negative emotions whenever he gets upset, he acknowledges the positive applications of anger and shows it when warranted. This makes him far more emotionally-adjusted than his brother.
• Telepathy: His entry notes that his domain of Temperance gives him telepathic abilities, allowing him to encourage virtuous mindsets while discouraging sinful thoughts.
• Took a Level in Jerkass: He Used to Be a Sweet Kid when he was younger, but constant bullying wore away at him until he became a Bully Hunter, especially after he caught some of his bullies picking on a disabled classmate. His righteous anger towards bullies slowly turned into irrational hatred for them, which culminated in him joining Fanged Paw and Death Shroud in ganging up on a blinded Crimson Star and beating him up as payback for acting like an Insufferable Genius. Even after he was punished and exiled by Golden Scepter, he still believed he was in the right, and would travel around Equus, freeing innocent people from those he thought were abusing them.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Eventually, his turning points would be his encounters with the Poenan Pantheon, whose approval of his methods made him wonder if they only liked him because he was so ruthless, and instigating a series of revolts in a realm of mountainous kingdoms. Upon discovering that the local rulers were forcibly implanting Butcher's Nails onto their slaves to be used for blood sport, Red Blade led the people in a bloody revolution, which continued until his followers massacred the royal families, down to their innocent young children. This caused Red Blade to snap out of his anger and realized the harm he had inflicted on others, including Crimson Star, with his irrational hatred, which made him swear never to let his emotions run loose again, leading to his Ascension to demi-godhood. Later, he would become a loving adoptive father figure for Mercy, a sentient divine Poenan sword who was left in his care by Silver Bane to protect her from the Poenan Pantheon.
• What the Hell, Hero?: He would receive an epic calling-out from Blazing Hoof, who was angry with him for beating up Crimson Star after he was blinded and leaving him near death, therefore becoming no better than the bullies who picked on him. It doesn't sink in until much, much later.
  Prince Blazing Hoof: (to Prince Red Blade) I remember protecting you and walking with you to school so those BULLIES wouldn't attack you! I remember comforting you while Forging Scale put bandages on your wounds whenever you came back home CRYING and BRUISED! By Equus, I even remember Written Word looking after you when you came down with that nasty fever and nearly DIED from it! What HAPPENED to that quiet, kindhearted brother I used to know, Red Blade?! WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM?!
• Winged Unicorn: He became an Alicorn after realizing the harm he had wrought upon others by letting his righteous anger towards "bullies" of all kinds turn into irrational hatred, and learning self-restraint and discipline in order to control his anger. Currently he's a demigod, the divine equivalent of a newborn baby, though he has massive potential to Ascend to true godhood.

Prince Raven Wing is the Alicorn demigod of Freedom, Stealth, Darkness, and Rebels, and is the seventeenth-born son of Emperor Golden Scepter, and a demi-Alicorn Prince of the Terran Empire.

• Dark Is Not Evil: His name is Raven Wing, his epithet is "the Dark Liberator", and he specializes in asymmetrical warfare, but he is a benevolent and heroic Terran Prince like his brothers.
• Divine Parentage: Is the seventeenth demi-divine son of Emperor Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies, a mortal pegasus mare. This would make him Long-Lived until he Ascended and became an Alicorn demigod.
• Eaten Alive: A drabble revealed a fight with Prince Excelsius, Vicearch Iniquitous' firstborn Princeling of Vice, ended with Raven Wing and four of his brothers being consumed and assimilated by Excelsius into his being to prevent them from interfering with one of Excelsius' Vicelieges and his allied overlords' plans, though he and his brothers managed to help break Prince Blazing Hoof and eventually themselves out. Raven Wing's domain of Freedom was instrumental in getting his eldest brother Prince Blazing Hoof out of Excelsius' body, as those gods with that domain are hard to imprison and may had been the reason they had any chance at escaping the Prince of Pride at all.
• Expy: Of Primarch Corvus Corax.
• Heroic Lineage: He is the seventeenth son of Golden Scepter, an antediluvian Alicorn Emperor who is an incredibly powerful psychic, a peerless genius and warrior, and a very competent leader who founded three empires in his lifetime. In addition, he's regarded as a legendary war hero even among the Alicorns, who were all saved from complete extinction thanks to his efforts. If his being inspired by Primarch Corvus Corax is to go by, he supposedly embodies Golden Scepter's cleverness and tactical insight.
• Horrible Judge of Character: Deconstructed. His desire to have friends in the face of public ostracization for being bookish and gloomy led to him unwittingly joining a cell of the Abominable Alignment, ignorant of how depraved and unfettered its members were. When the cell is eventually raided, he is confronted by his enraged brothers, who inform him point-blank of what he was doing and condoning, horrifying him enough that he fled home out of guilt. He learns his lesson by the time he frees the Kiervahrian people from slavery and oppression under their ruling techno-overlords, allowing him to Ascend to demi-godhood.
• I Just Want to Have Friends: Being ostracized by others for his bookish and gloomy character led to him unwittingly joining a secretive cell of the Abominable Alignment, sympathizing with its members for being outcast geniuses like himself. Unfortunately, his desire for companionship made him blind to the depravity of his associates until the cell was raided by Terran forces and he is confronted by his brothers, who tell him point-blank that he was dabbling in flesh-crafting. The sheer horror of what he condoned in his loneliness drove him to leave home out of shame.
• The Magnificent: Known as "the Dark Liberator".
• Massive Numbered Siblings: Is the seventeenth-born son out of Golden Scepter and Blessed Skies' demi-divine children, and has sixteen older brothers and two younger brothers.
• My God, What Have I Done?: He unwittingly joins a secretive cell of the Abominable Alignment out of desire for companionship, sympathizing with its members' outcast status. However, he is forced to face the truth of the horrors his associations would have wrought when his brothers confront him and tell him point-blank that he is dabbling with flesh-crafting. He flees home in shame and becomes a globe-trotter out of guilt, kicking off a series of events where he ends up Ascending to demi-godhood after freeing the oppressed people of Kiervahr from slavery under their ruling techno-overlords.
• Not What It Looks Like: Played for drama. Out of desire to find companionship and escape his ostracization for his bookish and gloomy character, he joined a cell of the Abominable Alignment, where he participated in flesh-crafting experiments. Following the cell's raiding by Terran forces, he tried justifying his experiments to his enraged brothers, who don't buy his excuses for a second and point out that what they're seeing is exactly what it looks like.
  Prince Raven Wing: B-brothers! This isn't what it looks like-!
  Other Terran Princes: What else does it look like?! You are dabbling with FLESH-CRAFTING!
• The Prankster: Implied. In one incident, he teamed up with Clear Voice to play a prank on their oldest brother, Blazing Hoof. He also had Rosy Dreams' pet dog, Chubby, poop in Palatine Phoenix's bedroom. According to him, the only brother he doesn't prank is Crimson Star, who is blind, and because of this he considers pranking Crimson Star to be an extremely shameful act.
  Prince Raven Wing: Me? Prank Crimson Star? No! My brother's blind! If I go prank him, I'll end up feeling really, really bad afterwards. Fanged Paw and I have declared him 'off-limits' for this reason.
• Reincarnation: Discussed. A heated argument with Written Word later causes Golden Scepter to wonder if all of his sons, including Raven Wing, are reincarnations of the same Generals that he had "treated so poorly". Luminiferous assures him that even if they are, all of his sons are still unique individuals with their own thoughts and feelings, and he has enough knowledge and experience to ensure that they'll have the "brighter future" that his Generals did not.
• Right Makes Might: Deconstructed. He points out that where force without justice is tyranny, justice without force is impotence, no matter how good or righteous one is. He notes the tragic irony of heroic individuals having to resort to tyranny to protect and enforce the same higher virtues and ideals they preached out of sheer necessity.
  Prince Raven Wing: Force without justice is tyranny, but justice without force is impotence. As regrettable as it is to consider, one could be the most good or just being in the world, but it matters little if one are not holding the weapon or have the power to protect and enforce those higher virtues and ideals.
  
  There is a tragic irony in that, as some of our brothers like Death Shroud and Whirling Cyclone had said, even for the most noble causes of freedom and righteousness, we must become tyrants, one way or another, more or less. For power is among the most important things that matters.
• What the Hell, Hero?: After Terran forces raid the Abominable Alignment cell he was part of, he is confronted by his enraged brothers, who tell him point-blank that he was dabbling in flesh-crafting experiments. Unable to face the horror of what he did and condoned, he fled home out of guilt and became a globe-trotter.

Secretive and mysterious, Prince(s?) Alpha Omega (Their entry here) is/are the youngest born son(s?) of the Terran Royal Family, and is well known by just how little is known about them, to the point their very existence is often questioned. Nevertheless, there are many hints of their work as master strategists, spies and saboteurs throughout the Terran Empire and the world, almost as if they are serpents or a hydra, and the enemies of the Terran Empire had learnt to fear when and where the prince(s?) and their equally enigmatic chapter would strike next with their manifold heads.

• Adaptational Heroism: Primarch Alpharious Omegon betrayed(?) the Imperium of Mankind after being persuaded by the Cabal to do so, based on claims that the Imperium would face stagnation and doom by the hands of the Chaos Gods if the Emperor of Mankind won. Maybe. Here, while still the most deceptive and guile of the Terran Princes, he's loyal to his father, Emperor Golden Scepter, and undeniably on the side of good.
• Always Identical Twins: Like Primarch Alpharius Omegon, Prince Alpha Omega is actually a name shared by identical twin brothers to make it appear they're one person in public.
• Annoying Younger Sibling: Alpha Omega was apparently this in their youth, being both unconventionally cunning and incredibly mischievous, with a fondness for messing with their older and more stuck-up brothers like Prince Regal Scroll, Prince Clear Voice and even Prince Fanged Paw. One of the shenanigans they were often up to were stealing cookies and other treats from the palace kitchens, often pulling elaborate heists to get pass his brothers and whatever security and traps they put up to deter him. He later apparently pulled a similar prank with Prince Fanged Paw.
• Consummate Liar: Prince(s?) Alpha Omega and their chapter are masters of deception and misdirection, often using it to cover their tracks and confuse the heck out of their enemies (and also their siblings for amusement).
• The Dividual: It's noted that given some of the shenanigans and strategems Alpha Omega had pulled, it is believed by many (or at least those who believe Alpha Omega even exists) that it is as if Alpha Omega are two individuals who could be in more than one place at once, or even more than two if that's even possible. Considering who Alpha Omega are an expy of, they may be more correct than they know.
• Expy: Of Primarch Alpharius Omegon.
• Shrouded in Myth: Prince Alpha Omega and their own military chapter (also called the 'Alpha Legion') are so mysterious and secretive that in-universe many doubt they even exists, and the 'Alpha Legion' in particular is considered little more than unverfied rumours and urban legends. This works to their advantage as they are masters of deception, misdirection and subtefuge, and being considered little more than rumours work well to hide their operations and potential while instilling endless paranoia and uncertainty upon their opponents.
• Master of Disguise: Alpha Omega is apparently this for himself and whoever is working for him, even in his youth. He once pretended to be a decoy of himself who is serving as a distraction while another disguised as him pretends to have acquired what he want and runs off, drawing his older brothers away on a wild goose chase while he was left behind to take what he wanted.
