Go To

Welcome to the Trope Pantheons thread! Please read the rules:

    Rules
Rules. The following are not suggestions or tips, but things that have to be followed:
  • When writing a profile, take note of the following:
    • Gods cannot be followers or high priests for obvious reasons. The 'gods' have ascended meaning there is no need for said character to be a follower of another if they have ascended.
    • No hype profiles, please. 'Hype Profiles' are profiles that have been made out of ongoing events and have not been around for a long time. This creates 'hype' due to popularity and certain elements either through certain scenes, memes, dramatic acting or considered overly awesome. They are not bad tropes but building a portfolio solely for that is a bad idea, as they do not say a thing about representing the trope best (unless it's those trope concepts that they are trying to embody for a long time)
      • You can see one if the profile is only showing off how awesome they are or suddenly pushing how 'significant' they are thanks to the just very recent events rather than respecting the longstanding good representations of the trope. And usually having... minimum portfolio or flavor texts and being a bit too generalized or self-contained to events from within their home series instead of interacting with other Pantheon members.
  • When posting in the forum, take note of the following:
    • When you suggest a God, please explain why they fit the trope. Not everyone is going to understand just "X should be the God of Y because they exemplify the trope" off the bat, especially if they're unfamiliar with the work.
    • You must use the Trope Pantheons discussion thread in the forums if you wish to add a new deity, story, something else of importance to the Trope Pantheon canon, or reworking an existing deity (be it simply improving their existing profile or changing their title).
      • For new and reworked deities, 3 [tup] means the profile will have a one week waiting period.
      • For new and reworked deities, 4 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 5 [tup] is an automatic ascension for new and reworked deities.
      • Speaking of reworks, for anyone that wants to improve such profiles, they have to review the current trope the character(s) has and see if it still holds up or if there is a better rep for their trope.
    • For adding new Treasures to The Great Treasury or new Dominions to the Dominions, the following rules apply:
      • For new Treasures or Dominions, 3 [tup] is a 3 day waiting period.
      • 4 [tup] is an automatic addition to the Great Treasury or Dominions.
    • Do not repost a profile in the forums more than twice in a day if noticeable changes have not been made in between. If a profile is posted a third time in a row without noticeable alterations, it will be downvoted. This is so spamming of no-effort profiles is less frequent and to prevent tropers from getting aggravated seeing the same profile over and over. The minimum acceptable change has to be a single flavour text.
    • The Pantheon is not a mouthpiece for you to voice your opinions on certain characters. You may like certain characters more than others, but do not make the mistake of making profiles for characters you like look like Character Shilling.
    • Tropers new to the Pantheon are barred from approving or downvoting profiles until they have ascended at least two profiles.
    • Do not include fan reception in any profiles. It has nothing to do with the character themselves and will create unnecessary conflict.
    • Write a detailed explanation on why the character is the best candidate for deity of that trope. If people disagree with you, do not force it on the people.
    • Keep in mind that if you still want to try to find a trope for a particular character, you are only given three chances to find a particular trope for them. If a suggestion goes past three possible tropes, then it will come off as shoehorning a character into the Pantheon just for the sake of that character to be there.
      • On a related note, even if a character does have a free trope being suggested, there is still a limit of three attempts for suggesting that character for that trope. If no one responds to that certain proposal after being posted three times, then it will get to the point where the idea will be seen as being shoehorned into the Pantheon. In addition, the idea needs to be considered acceptable and approved because they are good, not for the sake of pitying others because no one is responding to their idea.
  • When posting Pantheon related stuff to the wiki, take note of the following:
    • Do not put a link to these Pantheon pages into the main wiki page. The moment you want to add in a main Characters page that the character is a God of this trope, do not do it. If you see leftovers of this practice, inform the forum and use the cutlist. This also goes to the Trivia page. The only exception to this rule is if a page in the Pantheon could be confused for a page in Main, like Good Colors, Evil Colors and Good and Evil Colors.
    • Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment ALSO applies here. Do not bring things that would incite fights, even if it is what is currently the hot topic and might be 'urgent'. For example, the political scene and some really bad politicians. We are not here to fight at each other, so don't suggest things that go to that direction, this is a fictional Pantheon after all.
    • To add a Pantheon page for a certain work, 4 or more characters coming from the same series/franchise should be ascended before adding the page. For Creator specific pages, 4 deities coming from the same creator and 2 individual work pages coming from the same creator is the minimum to warrant a page.
    • Do not create a trope page for a story until the story is fully completed.

    Instructions and Tips
Here are some tips one should keep in mind when editing:

  • Preparing to write:
    • First thing to do before present a profile is to go to the Trope Pantheons discussion thread. In the forums, you must discuss with other users on adding ideas and seek their approval with sound reasoning. You can also get some assistance in the forum thread by either asking for help and those interested asking if they can help. Submissions that are added without discussion are likely to be deleted and those who violate those rules by adding Pantheon content without discussion will get reported to the mods.
    • If you feel the need to remove a character for some reason (poor quality, outdated titles, etcetera) and replace him/her with another or outright rework, please see what the other tropers think about this in the discussion thread before doing anything hasty. Use good reasoning to see if your idea can easily replace the character present without drawing out your statement or giving too ambiguous claims most do not understand.
    • Please be sure to consult others in the discussion about what you want to work before making the profile. This is done to see if your proposal is the best representative and so, in case your profile is turned down, you do not waste time writing something that others might not find suitable.
      • In the same vein, if you adopt a profile from another troper, it is recommended that you make an announcement that you have done so on the discussion thread. More often than not, a trope that was reserved for something was given away to someone else. Check the Related tab on the top of a page to see if a trope or character has been reserved by a user.
    • If, for whatever reason, you are writing about a God who just happens to be a person in real life, just try to be very careful about what you decide to say. Do not try to make the editing seem too meta (self-referential) and use the aformentioned creativity to create hypothetical scenarios towards fictional characters.
  • When writing a profile for a character, here are a few things to note:
    • All deities should be sorted by their divine ranking. Put Overdeities on the top of the page and Quasideities on the bottom. Also be sure to add them in alphabetical order by their first/given name (can be reversed if it is Eastern ordered). For a group, if there is no official name for them all list down all their names by order of relevance or (if too long to list) title them as Insert Name Here Main Characters or some other identifiable title along the same lines.
    • The maximum number of tropes that a god can have is two, but do not try to abuse that fact. If you need to use a second trope to specify a certain thing about their position, that can be excused either because said character represents their trope choice very well alongside the first trope. It is still generally encouraged to only have one trope.
    • A trope can only belong to one profile at a time. The only time two profiles can share a trope is if there are explicit variations listed in the trope page proper (e.g. Muscle Angst is held by both Biscuit Krueger and Chihiro Fujisaki as the former represents "Too Much Muscle" and the latter represents "Not Enough Muscle")
    • If the character you are about to add to a House already exists in another, make sure to mention that this person has spots in other House as well. Up to 2 places can be made for a deity, with the sole exceptions being those at the Main House to highlight those characters’ importance to the Pantheon’s lore.
    • For a character's theme song, try to avoid calling it "Theme of God X" or "Theme of (Show where God X originates from)". If possible, try to find out if the song has an actual name through research. Most importantly, it has to be part their series’ official soundtracks from media. Do not list songs that are made by fans or outside sources. If they were not specifically used as music for that specific character, then they do not count. Furthermore, it has to be a general theme specifically made for that characters’ appearances, not some generic music that plays for many other instances not related to the character in question.
    • For images, when adding an image for your chosen character, it is highly recommended to use a stylized image that embodies the character or renders that also highlights a character’s behavior (such as cool poses). Most images should be from the main adaptations of the character, unless the images from the other media are of a higher quality than the adaptation. Unless it is needed, do not use fanart for images. If you are, please attribute to the original artist. Due to the website’s dark mode, removing white backgrounds from an image is paramount. This website is suggested to do the background removal. If an image you have takes up too much bytes, it is suggestible to use this site to reduce the byte size. If the byte is still too big, put the compressed image to other sites (or even the same one) to compress even further. Use wikias to look for better images, as even wikias for the series might not contain good official images.
    • Creativity is your friend. While it is not recommended to get too ditzy at your ideas, it is best that when writing a profile for a certain character, do you think of capable scenarios between X and Y. Tip: do not use shallow examples (X wields a sword and Y wields one too) and try to think of relationships that makes sense (i.e those characters that are shout-outs for another).
  • Pantheon Content:
    • Some series or genres will eventually have greater representation in the Pantheon than others. This is unavoidable, but a little diversity helps to make you not look like a shill per say. Try to ensure that if you add a deity from a popular series, make sure that it is because they are a good representative for the trope in question, and not just because they are connected to another deity in their respective canon.
      • As far as deities from actual mythologies, there is generally expectation to build the profiles off interactions from fictional portrays rather than basing it entire from the actual myth. Therefore, a mythological deity should be more of a Composite Character whose main identity is from the actual myth.
    • Occasionally there will be Gods that carry a title without a trope. This is not forbidden, but it is well advised not to abuse them. The only house that a tropeless profile are wholly allowed is the House of Food. Mainly due to most food items lacking tropes, and adding tropes about said foodstuffs is slightly unnecessary. However, the character being ascended for their choice of a food, or food-related thing must be a decently good representative of said item. (i.e their Trademark Favorite Food, or something that they are closely associated with In-Universe, or both).
    • For Dominions and Treasures profiles, always consider what made those places/objects popular in the first place. Were they plot-important, identifiable imagery or have a unique aspect of it? Do not just bring regular objects under the basis of following a certain canon.
  • For Profile Standards:
    • Flavor text is used to describe certain things about a character, place or object. To avoid short ones, it is recommended to write flavor text with 4-7 sentences that can fill around 2 lines each. Be warned that adding too many sentences does not equal good flavor text as it is not an essay of sorts (unless words are substantial and do add to the overall line).
    • Character Profiles of a certain person should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 7 (at the minimum) tropes describing their character.
      • Flavor text count for a deity profile should have by minimum, 10 (depending if the character in question has enough relationships/characterization) to 15 with a maximum of 20-25 for an individual profile.
      • On the other hand, group profiles (profiles of a group that has 4 or more members) have their maximum flavor text count to 15 minimum, giving individual lines for the other members of the group (unless the members are not as characterized) up to 30 at max.
    • Dominion profiles of a certain place should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 5 (at the minimum) tropes describing the context of the place.
      • Flavor text count should range at least 10 to 15.
    • Treasure profiles (inanimate objects without a trope) should have the following:
      • A portfolio that contains at least 6 (at the minimum) tropes that describes the object itself.
      • Flavor text count should be at least 7 flavor text up to 12 to constitute a treasure profile.

    Divine Ranking System
  • Overdeity: Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers capable of manipulating the entire universe (or at least the world) at will. Within their own universe they are believed to be omnipotent, or at least impossible-to-completely-destroy embodiments or concepts.
  • Greater Gods: High-level Reality Warpers and that are extremely powerful (capable of destroying or changing anywhere from a large city to a planet at will) and very strong non-reality warpers capable of doing the same thing.
  • Intermediate Gods: Deities at this level are capable of strong but specialized powers such as hydrokinesis, pyrokinesis, etc. without major drawbacks and low level Reality Warpers capable of affecting their immediate area at will.
  • Lesser Gods: Capable of highly specific or little power on their own, or suffer from Power at a Price. However, they may be able to ruthlessly exploit their power or combine it with just being badass enough to make up for it.
  • Demigods: Basically the Badass Normals of the pantheon, making up for their lack of abilities with strength, strategy, and/or planning.
  • Quasideities: Any otherwise normal human, human equivalent, or below without any special powers or training will fall here.

    Templates
Template for adding a new deity:

God X, God/dess of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Rank: This can range from Quasideity, Demigod, Lesser God, Intermediate God, Greater God, to Overdeity, based on representation of power mentioned above.
  • Symbol: An image or icon used to represent the deity.
  • Theme Song: Official song (in other words, no fan music, regardless of quality) that usually is used in affiliation with the character. If the deity is a musician this will most likely be their Signature Song. If possible, give a link for reference, preferably on either a website like Soundcloud or YouTube.
  • Alignment: Good, evil, neutral etc. Forget about The Great Character Alignment Debate here, the Pantheon is one of the few places where you can assign Dungeons & Dragons alignment to characters that don't have alignment system. After all, the Pantheon is based on D&D and is made for fun.
  • For Pokémon deities only:
    • Gender: Defines the gender of the Pokémon; if genderless, it instead defines what gender they identify as.
    • Ability: Provides the Pokémon's ability. If they can Mega Evolve, the new ability is listed as well.
    • Moves: Defines the four moves used by a Pokémon. A Z-Move may also be listed.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the character.
  • Domains: Things that the character has influence over.
  • Herald: Non-ascended loyal character that is from the same series as the ascended character.
  • High Priest: Non-ascended like heralds, but not from the same series, and can serve as a worthy replacement in case something would happen. They can be served as part-time workers in case the originals are busy with some jobs. Co-Godhood is accepted depending on the approval of the originals, usually if the co-deity is from the same series.
  • Followers: Non-ascended characters that are not part of the Pantheon, but would probably worship this character by the fact that they share the ascended character's trope.
  • Relationships between ascended characters go here with your chosen character, it goes something like this:
    • Allies: Members of the Pantheon that are allies, those that share the same values as them and would theoretically be friends with them.
    • Rivals: Members of the Pantheon that are rivals, people who may look at your character with suspicion or a challenge.
    • Enemies: Members of the Pantheon that are foes, those who would see your chosen character as a threat, either on their pespective or yours.
    • Additional Character Relationships: Members of the Pantheon that do not fit in various relationships (examples include Enemy Mine, Vitriolic Best Buds, Teeth-Clenched Teamwork, Headbutting Heroes, Friendly Enemy, Friendly Rival, Just Friends, etc.), allies, rivals, or enemies.
    • Partner: Defines a partnership with an ascended deity and Mon-type. (if any)
    • Feared by/Fears: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon notably fear or are feared by.
    • Respected by/Respects: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon respect or are respected by.
    • Opposed by/Opposes: Not necessarily the same as "Enemies", but this is used for any deity whom the members of the Pantheon directly opposes or is opposed by (basically the opposite of "Respects") terms of certain viewpoints, regardless of alignment.
    • Pitied by/Pities: A deity whom the members of the Pantheon feel pity for or are found pitiable by.
    • Conflicting Opinion: Sometimes, the Deities argue over specific themes and philosophies.
  • Add the Intro. The intro is made up of two trivia, the Ascension Text (or just the Ascension) and The Bio. Both are necessary, but which order you use for them may vary depending on the profile in question. It may be better for one profile to have The Bio first and the Ascension second or vice-versa, although for the most part the order is irrelevant:
    • The Ascension Text: This the story of how the character got into the Pantheon and/or was ascended. There are many ways for this to happen. They may be tricked into it or have simply wandered into the Pantheon, they may have had an already ascended character bring them in, they may already be in the Pantheon (via being another deity's Herald or sharing a trope) and got "promoted", or some combination of the above. Anything is possible in the Pantheon, so use your imagination, but try to incorporate their trope into the story, if possible.
    • The Bio: A brief synopsis on the character's backstory. No need for the character's entire life/production history, but just give enough that those who don't know the character can get an idea of how the character works.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Deities/Characters is 10-15 (15-20 for group profiles) at minimum to 20-25 (30 for group profiles) at maximum.

Template for Dominions profiles:

Place X, Place of (Insert Trope Here) (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Alignment: Refers to the dominion's role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the dominion.
  • Domains: Things that the place has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the location has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the dominion is linked to, note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said dominion, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Dominion is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Dominions is 10 at minimum to 15 at maximum.

Template for Treasure profiles:

The name of the item in here (Alternate names/Nicknames, Fan Nickname)

  • An image, if possible. Please use official art or a screenshot for a picture.
  • Appearance: A shortened description of the item's looks with some notable features also mentioned.
  • Class: Refer to the Treasure Classification System in the Great Treasury.
  • Alignment: Refers to the objects' role in their story, be it those used by villains or used by the Player Character.
  • Theme Song (Optional): Not important as compared to Deity and Dominion profiles but a notable mention if there is an accompanying song in use with the object.
  • Museum Check: A note that says whether the item is viewable by the public.
  • Portfolio: Tropes associated with the item.
  • Domains: Things that the item has links to.
  • Relationships (Optional): Unless the item has a connection with a specific deity, relationships are optional and may not be required. However, if there are deities linked to the same series as where the item is linked to (especially the original owner of the item), note them using the relationships, this includes deities that theoretically have interest with said object, good or evil otherwise.
  • Add the Intro. Here the introduction of the Treasure is added with some tidbits regarding the origins of its' creation and usage in the story. You can also add what made it popular/iconic/important here.
  • Now add some random trivia/facts about events/alignments/moments/fights/friendships/relations etc.
  • And some more trivia/facts.
  • And a couple of more.
    • Note: Standard amount of flavor text for Treasures is 7 at minimum to 12 at maximum.

How about Ymir from Norse Mythology? He was the first being to come into existence and the ancestor of all giants. He was ultimately killed by Odin, Vili and Vé and they used his body to create the earth.

[up][up]You're asking me? The trope isn't mine, you know.tongue Most I can say about that is that Giganta doesn't enthuse me, but I don't necessarily know of a better choice, so...

I must say today was pretty eventful... in ways that weren't good by any means.

Punky and Rafe are currently with 4 [tup]'s (SuperWIKI1, fasoman1996, r-lock256 and Excessive-Menace). Again, not reposting them as I might as well play the long game and wait 3 days instead.

On another note, Bearded Wedge Guy who Whines Justice every 24/7 here. Wanting to see if there could be any more suggestions, but approvals are welcome nonetheless.

P.S - This might be the only Dragon Ball character I'll be doing for now. Because at this point, I think we have enough notable characters as it is... alongside some odd choices, but meh.

  • Opposes: The House of Villains (on principle), Seyu Ubiquitous
  • Commonality Connection: Shinn Asuka (Anime incarnation only)
  • When the galaxy is constantly under threat of evil beings, a team of heroes unite to fight against them and uphold the protection of billions of innocents throughout space. This is a job the Pride Troopers of Universe 11 partake in and have developed a rather likeable reputation throughout, even winning the favour of the God of Destruction, Belmod and his Angel, Marcarita. Initially, the two were interested to take one of the Pride Troopers, Jiren under the apprenticeship of becoming a God of Destruction candidate as he was arguably the strongest mortal across the 12 established universes, but he refused. The offer was instead given to the leader, Toppo, who took it upon himself to ensure Universe 11 is protected and secure from any and all harm.
    • Even with his work ethic and dedication, his universe was still ranked among those that were to be destroyed by Zeno... until Goku proposed the idea of a tournament where the 8 selected universes to be destroyed were to battle against one another in an effort to be spared and be granted the Super Dragon Balls. Thus commenced the Tournament of Power, where Toppo did his best to assure the success of his team, personally leading them against the contenders. However, as more and more of his comrades fell until only him, Dyspo and Jiren remained, Toppo became disgruntled and cynical, eventually discarding his stance of "Justice". It culminated when, after seeing only Universes 7 and 11 remaining, Dyspo eliminated and being overwhelmed by a combined effort from Frieza and Android 17, Toppo decided to tap into his God of Destruction powers and dominate Universe 7... until Vegeta showed up and eventually overpowered and knocked him out of the tournament fields. He was erased from existence once Jiren was eliminated and Universe 11 was declared runner-up, though Android 17 decided to wish for the erased universes to be resurrected regardless, with Toppo and the rest of Universe 11 coming back to life. He's currently making sure he's there for Jiren and to lead the Pride Troopers as much as he could.
  • Toppo ascended into the Pantheon after receiving a distress call from an unknown benefactor who told him and the Pride Troopers about dealing with a threat capable of destroying planets. Wasting no time, Toppo lead the Pride Troopers to a planet where they came across Mongul, who was kidnapping innocent civilians in the hopes of having them compete in fighting against one another to the death for his own amusement. The Pride Troopers did battle against Mongul's forces with Toppo himself clashing with the Evil Overlord in a brutal battle. It ended in a stalemate with the Pride Troopers worn out and much of Mongul's army beaten down. Mongul made a getaway, claiming he isn't done, whereas Toppo made as much effort as he could to find and reassure survivors.
    • The Pride Troopers were called upon by the Court of the Gods to testify their actions regarding their battle against Mongul. Toppo stated that he received a distress call, which is how he made his way to the battlefield and did as much as he could to find and save any survivors, provided they weren't killed by Mongul's pillaging army. His words bought him some ounce of respect from the House of Heroes who praised his and the Pride Troopers' efforts. The case ended with Toppo properly ascending into the Pantheon, representing Milking the Giant Cow, much to his chagrin as it's more telling about being over-the-top about his habit of posing and saying justice, in contrast to his work as a hero. He was able to convince the court to keep the Pride Troopers as his heralds, to which the Court decided to allow for, ensuring that Toppo enters a battle with his comrades.
  • While Jiren may have taken up the spotlight, given that he caught the Gods's attention and entered the Pantheon before the Pride Troopers did, Toppo isn't far behind either. He has proven himself consistently to be a very powerful fighter, able to match up against Goku, who had mastered Super Saiyan Blue by that point and take on a tagged combination of Gohan and Android 17. He may not look the part, but he is one of the strongest superheroes in the Pantheon and is thoroughly dedicated.
  • Speaking of dedication, some have noted how much Toppo preaches on about "Justice!" every time he calls out an attack or makes poses with the other Pride Troopers. Toppo himself tries to justify his stance, stating that as a hero, he has to strive for justice and uphold it, otherwise where would they be if he isn't there to protect. Still, it doesn't stop people from imitating him as a sort of reference or joke, which often annoys Toppo.
  • Given the nature of the Pride Troopers, Toppo has become fast allies with the Green and Blue Lantern Corps, with each of them having a familiar theme of sorts with the Pride Troopers being associated with Justice like how the Green and Blue Lanterns represent Willpower and Hope respectively. Moreover, the Sapphire Star Corps are also willing to give Toppo and the Pride troopers a helping hand if they need it. The three corps were impressed by how Toppo was able to stand his ground against Mongul, himself a supervillain with an infamous cred.
    • Toppo's association with the Lanterns Corps also resulted in a meetup with the Red Lanterns, Sinestro Corps and Larfleeze. Toppo and the Pride Troopers immediately disliked them upon first meeting, due to Atrocitus's relentlessly vengeful nature, Sinestro's view of inducing fear for the greater good and Larfleeze demanding all of his possessions to only be of his property. They'd normally be enemies, but the fact that all three of them are in an Enemy Mine situation against Nekron has Toppo and the Pride Troopers consider brief team-ups with them if it's to defend the universe against greater evils.
  • In one instance, Toppo was known to have a rather skewed and enforced viewpoint towards the concept of evil, proclaiming that it must be vanquished by any means and, at one point, brandishing Goku as an evildoer for suggesting the Tournament of Power, though he may not have known that Zeno was going to destroy the 8 selected universes of the lowest ranking anyway. However, he's trying to grow out of this mindset as of lately.
    • This viewpoint did result in him becoming familiar with Seyu Ubiquitous and Shinn Asuka. Toppo instantly disliked Seryu for being way too maniacal about promoting peace and for sometimes even looking like a villain, much to her annoyance. Regarding Shinn, Toppo does sympathize with him for his hard life experiences and has shown some respect when Shinn did turn back to being a good guy.
  • Is actually pretty good and popular towards children, with Toppo usually prioritizing them first when it comes to saving civilians. Him and the Pride Troopers are currently seeing they can sponsor the House of Family in a sense. While they may not have much time, they have way more approval from the Heroic Protectors than Frost ever would.
  • When it comes to dealing with criminals and monsters, Toppo and the Pride Troopers would normally resort to capturing them alive via a specific capsule before throwing them in prison or elsewhere. While most of the House of Crime are very wary about them, some monsters like King Ghidorah and Gigan have proven themselves to be far more problematic. It doesn't help that Ghidorah is known for destroying planets and is relentless and gleeful about the destruction it causes. Still, Toppo will ensure his best to take on villainous kaiju.
  • While initially not on good terms with the Z-Fighters, Toppo has since become more amicable and respectful of them, especially considering how Jiren sometimes sees Goku as a Worthy Opponent. Then again, Toppo, at one point, had nothing against Goku, except for the fact that he finds his love for fighting rather strange. He won't hesitate in teaming up with the Z-Fighters when it comes to threats such as Frieza and Zamasu.
  • Getting himself accustomed in the Pantheon, Toppo has made various new enemies, including Dark Specter, Ultraman Belial, Darkseid, Thanos and The Plutonian, all of whom have threatened to conquer or destroy the galaxy multiple times. All of the villains acknowledge the Pride Troopers and especially Toppo, but currently have their own nemesis's to deal with. Toppo is making sure he and the Pride Troopers do their best to not underestimate them.
  • While he still keeps in contact with Jiren, their first interaction in the Pantheon proper is Toppo congratulating his comrade for reaching said position and sees that he is already proving his worth. Jiren usually stays silent for the most part, though in their private moments, Jiren does urge Toppo to be a better leader than he already is. Given his inept leadership and general failure in the Tournament of Power, Toppo concedes that Jiren may have a point.
  • As a superhero in general, Toppo is quick to make allies and is generally respected by superheroes in general, especially the likes of Superman and Statesman. He was genuinely intrigued by Spider-Man, especially given the hardships and challenges the web-slinger has gone through.
    • He's surprised to see that the Pride Troopers are inspired by a team of Japanese Heroes in costumes which come in several iterations. As a result, Toppo is in good graces with the ascended Super Sentai and Power Rangers squadrons. He even gained a new fan under Irina Shidou, herself a Super Sentai fangirl and often tries to see if the Pride Troopers are making up a convention. Toppo hasn't said anything on the matter but notes that if such a thing did exist, chances are that Jiren isn't attending.
"I love my people! I love my country! I love my planet! I love my universe! I am leader of the Pride Troopers, Toppo!"

[up][up][up]I admit that I'm on a bit of a mythology kick lately. That being said, my suggestion is a valid one.

[up][up][tup]

[up]Agreed.

Another possibility would be Annam, the All-Father, from Dungeons & Dragons. He is the creator god of the giant pantheon and father of the other giant gods.

[down][tup] for Dr. Zalost. Giant Corpse World is already taken by Pangu.

If anything, Giant Corpse World has a harder time getting a proper candidate. Why not give Ymir that one.

All things considered, i think i'm done with Dr. Zalost. Unless you guys have more ideas at least

Dr. Zalost, God of Sad and Haunting Scores

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dr_zalost.png
Zalost after his change of heart
  • Potential House: Musical Compositions and Sadness
  • Demigod
  • Symbol: The letter "Z" framed in gold
  • Theme Song: The Tower of Dr. Zalost
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral with shades of Neutral Evil. True Neutral leaning towards Neutral Good after his change of heart
  • Portfolio: Tragic Villain, Initially Green-Skinned, Evil Sounds Deep, Gloomy and Depressed which makes him want to make everyone feel as he does, Lean and Mean, Mad Scientist, Meaningful Name, Sore Loser, Becomes a better person after eating Muriel's Happy Plums
  • Domains: Science, Sadness, Tragedy, Villainy, Happiness, Music
  • Herald: Rat, his assistant.
  • Allies: Courage, Muriel Bagge, Eustace Bagge, Sadness, The Doki Doki Literature Club, Simon Henriksson, Eeyore, Hikari, Rapunzel, Pinky and the Brain
  • Rivals: Dr. Evil
  • Enemies: Dementors, Ratigan, Nerose Satanael, Dr. Screwball Jones
  • Depression is often a condition that can plague basically anyone in the world and such fate fell upon the tragic figure of Dr. Zalost. A brilliant scientist who one day came to Nowhere and demanded huge amounts of money to fund his unhappy cannonballs project. He attacked the town after being negated his money and being mocked, causing everyone to be as unhappy and as miserable as he was, but even if he got what he wanted he was still not happy. That's when he came accross Courage and the Bagges, who Zalost decided to target after realizing there were people that he missed. After hitting Muriel, Courage embarked in a quest to save her and in doing so brought down Zalost's Tower and the Doctor was not happy with that. However, after eating Muriel's Happy Plums, Zalost became a more cheerier person and realized the errors of his way. That's why much later he ended up atoning for what he did and later awarded godhood thanks to a recommendation by his new friend Courage.
  • The reason for his arrival? The forebonding and sad music that encompasses his present, hinting at Zalost truly sad existance. His title isn't really representative of what he became after losing his tower to Courage and would rather not be near a place as dreary as the side of the House of Emotion he was put in and so prefers to stay in the House of Music instead.
  • As stated before, Zalost is a reformed person and a good friend of Courage, often visiting him and Muriel to have himself a doze of those happy plums. He also brought along Rat, who was turned into a baby after eating a happy plum and Zalost has tried his best to raise him right after mistreating him a lot, often giving Rat lots and lost of hugs.
  • Zalost means sorrow in slavic languages and the good doctor has tried his best to combat his constant sadness and depression even if he was misguided in his attempts. He also ended up making friends with several people who too suffered with depression one way or another although they wouldn't go as far as to harm others because of that like Zalost did. He is often seen with unlikely people you would find someone of his archetype, like that one time he joined the Doki Doki Literature Club because he thought doing poetry would be fun and he find a lot of common ground with Sayori and believe it or not, relating a lot to Monika for their shared roles as Tragic Villains who regret their actions.
    • Related a lot to Simon Henriksson in the sense of how they wanted to take their rage upon others because of their depression. Simon was initially hesitant to approach Zalost not because of his appearance but because he has had his share of bad experiences with Mad Scientists but after noticing that Zalost was too a struggling person just like him, he decided to give him a chance.
    • Hikari was another one who overcame her own depression thanks to help from other parties and as a future cinema director she though making a documentary on Dr. Zalost tale would be a good starting point. She approached him with the idea and he instantly fell in love with it, but he is not too happy to relieve those sad memories but if he at least gets to do something fun and make more friends then he is up to it.
  • Dr. Evil was a bit jealous that Zalost was succesful in his attempts of ransoming money out of the Nowhere Mayor unlike Evil's plan to get 1 billion dollars. He is also a bit dissapointed that he stop being evil and is dedicated to finding ways to be a heroic figure but he is not overly antagonistic towards him and more of a rival.
  • Given that Courage accidentally found a way to turn his Unhappy Bombs into Happy Bombs, Dr. Zalost has been studying Muriel's happy plums in order to find a way to make incredibly sad people like he used to be feel fine again. His first test subject was Eeyore, notorious for how gloomy he is and shoot a ball to see if he felt better. It worked for the most part, as Eeyore felt a little more upbeat than usual but later returned to his usual self. Zalost is hopeful he could repicate the result that undid his attack in Nowhere.
    • However, he received some backlash by some deities for trying to force people into being happy, something he couldn't quite understand why would people dislike what he is doing. He later learned that some people trying to force happiness into people regardless of their feelings like Nerose Satanael and Dr. Screwball Jones. In a Heel Realization, Zalost discovered that he maybe shouldn't try to push his attempts at making Happy Bombs but he still believes it could help some people feel better.
  • He still lives in his tower but has taken a great effort to make it less ominous. It's officially labelled as his temple and he can take his tower whenever he wants to, making it a few of temples that can move from their established location, but for the sake of being simple he is officially listed in a single place to avoid any confusion. Rapunzel got a few nasty memories after a chance encounter with the tower but thought Dr. Zalost himself was a nice individual overall and even became friends with him.
  • Often seen visiting the House of Rabbits and Rodents since that's where usually he takes Rat to make friends. Rat has grown up a little ever since he was shrunk down to a baby and he is not as grumpy as before (although he is bound to let an annoyed grunt out whenever Zalost makes a bad joke). Outside of that house the duo tend to be seen with both Pinky and the Brain, mostly because the latter respects Zalost inventions and wouldn't mind using those for World Domination but knows that Dr. Zalost wouldn't allow him to use them.
    • However, neither Zalost nor Rat are big fans of Ratigan, who tried to coerce Rat to join him in his criminal activities, with Rat just groaning at his insistance and not bothering to respond to his proposal. Ratigan since then wants to get back at them but knows that the Doctor is more dangerous than he looks.
  • If there is one thing he would rather avoid is succumbing to his sadness again and that's why he both fears and hates the Dementors for feeding on emotions, not helping that the creatures took an interest on Zalost Unhappy Bombs. He was also initially a bit wary of Sadness, the Anthropomorphic Personification of said emotion, but seeing as she was just an emotion from another person who too suffered with similar complicated feelings he felt more comfortable becoming her friend (She is a bit horrified at the prospect of Unhappy Bombs but she doesn't hold it against the doctor).
  • Loves hugs and can be often seen hugging Rat whenever he has nothing better to do. He will often go looking for cozy people to share hugs with and he even is trying to open a program where sad people will get free hugs in order to feel better.

@Crimson: Surprised you haven't mentioned Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy seeing as like Mermaid Man, Toppo is all about vanquishing evil and they're both elderly heroes. I imagine Barnacle Boy being both exasperated and pessimistic at Toppo, fearing that he might screw up even harder than Mermaid Man which prompts Toppo the determination to prove to Barnacle Boy that he can be good at his job.

The Colossimembers , Patron Deities of Puzzle Bosses

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rsz_4457627_3882673248_tumbl.jpg
  • Lesser Deities
  • Symbol: The Colossus Idols
  • Theme Song: Sign of the Colossus
  • Alignment: Ranges from True Neutral to Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Advancing Bosses Of Doom, Ambiguous Golems, Creatures That Can Be Climbed, People Feel Bad When They Die, Unique Creatures, Puzzle Bosses, Glowing Sigil Weak Points, Single Specimen Species, Slow Moving Powerhouses, The Cans That Seal An Ambiguous Evil, Boss Game
  • Domains: Nature, Giants, Antiquity, Seals
  • Allies: Yorda, The Robed Figure
  • Opposed by: Wander, Eren Yeager, Dovahkiin
  • The Colossi are sixteen mysterious stone-carved creatures of variable sizes (though always much larger than a human). They existed throughout a place known as the Forbidden Land, serving as the seals of a (reputedly) evil entity called Dormin. One day, a young warrior called Wander entered the Forbidden Land carrying a dead girl called Mono (some say she was cursed, but that's a rather petty distinction, all things considered), and he made a deal with Dormin: Wander would slay all the Colossi and in exchange, Dormin would bring Mono back to life. And though Wander was not a very skilled or strong warrior, and the Colossi really were as powerful as they looked, he was rather good at thinking outside the box and coming up with clever tactics, and so all the Colossi wound up slain at his hands one way or the other.
  • It is a common thought that the Colossi are like wonders of the world. A lot of people find their slaying to be a tremendous waste and Wander is often reviled for his part in their extinction. It was perhaps in that spirit that they were ascended into the Pantheon, where they would be free to roam once more and people could admire their magnificence. They represent Puzzle Boss for the very specific and off-the-wall strategies that Wander needed to employ to have any chance at defeating them.
  • Although they have a designated temple/shrine, the Colossi are actually spread out throughout the whole Pantheon, and never seem to stay in one place for too long. They generally avoid areas where people live though. This is probably because they are used to the totally deserted Forbidden Land. This is perhaps for the best, as while the popular stance on the Colossi is to leave them alone and admire them from afar, there are also those who see the Colossi as interesting challenges and would just love to throw down with them.
  • One of the deities who wants to throw down with them? Wander himself, of course. The young warrior ascended into the Pantheon as well after his quest ended rather badly for him, as he got possessed by Dormin in order to fight off a certain Lord Emon who had a vested interest in keeping Dormin sealed. Emon succeeded in re-sealing Dormin and destroyed the only access to the Forbidden Land, stranding the newly revived Mono and Wander, who was apparently reduced to an infant. Despite this, Wander ascended as he was in the beginning of his quest, which most attribute to Dormin. And Wander is as determined as ever to finish off the Colossi once more, hoping that doing so will unseal Dormin again and that the entity can get him and Mono out of the Forbidden Land. No one knows whether the Colossi are still Dormin's seals, so no one can say for sure whether his quest is futile or not. At any rate, the Colossi seem to remember Wander, though somehow they have no interest in hunting him down to kill him before he does so to them again.
  • The Colossi don't do much in the Pantheon itself and are more than content to mind their own business. Still, some of them are very aggressive and shouldn't be approached lightly... or at all, really. Let's see how you like being repeatedly rammed to death by Cenobia and Celosia, or poisoned by Kuromori's gases.
  • The Colossi are terrified of Eren whenever he goes into his Titan Form, because to him, being a giant is the same as being a Titan.

Is Mt Purgatory ready to go up?

Purgatorio, Deified Afterlife Between Heaven And Hell (The Mountain of Purgatory)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/purgatorio_de_dantealigheri.jpg
A picture model of Purgatory, in Italian
  • House: Dimensions (House of Dominions)
  • Description: A colossal mountain located at Jerusalem's antipode in the Pacific Ocean
  • Symbol: A mountain lit by sunrise
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral in function, though the inhabitants vary
  • Portfolio: Purgatory and Limbo, A Means For Souls To Atone and Earn Your Happy Ending, Seven Deadly Sins
  • Domains: The Afterlife, Redemption, Vices And Overcoming Them, Purification, Souls
  • Related to: The Inferno
  • Of interest to: Dante Aligheri, the GUAG Ministry Of Atonement
  • On the opposite side of the globe from Jerusalem lies the Mountain of Purgatory. Created by a displacement of rock due to Dis' fall, it is a place for those too virtuous for Hell but not enough for Heaven. It's best described as a tough love camp where souls go through ideals to purify their souls for Heaven. Limbo technically isn't part of it though, but rather the top of the Inferno for virtuous pagans.
  • The Ministry of Atonement has a mixed opinion on Purgatory. As a group they are all about helping people atone, however they believe a number of the ordeals to be too harsh. Dante thinks they're being kind of soft but admires their own work in life, and the Grand United Alliance of Good admits that it's in keeping with 14th century Christianity. These disagreements haven't stopped, though. As per their suggestions, part of Purgatory has been excavated to helping people come to terms with their actions, and having a true Heel Realization.
  • At the time the Americas weren't known by Europeans, so Dante was surprised by the two continents near Mt Purgatory. However despite not knowing about them, there is still a spot in the Pacific Ocean for the mountain. The House of Land and Sea Travel discovered the mountain. It's rumored that Kunkka has made some connection. Dante advises against mountain climbers visiting, as he feels it robs a lot of the meaning from it.
  • At the start are the shores of Purgatory, first part of Ante-Purgatory. Cato the Younger serves as the guardian. An angel serves as the boatman. The GUAG is trying to ensure that none of YHVH's angelic agents try to take that role; God forbid HE get His claws on parts of the afterlife. The Angels of Paradiso and Demons of Inferno would rather just take the mountain for themselves.
  • The next layers of Ante Purgatory are The Excommunicate and The Late-Repentant. The Excommunicate are for excommunicated and those who repented too late, the Late-Repentant are for those too lazy/preoccupied to repent, those who died before last rites, and rulers who didn't have time. They need to wait their mortal lives. The Emperor of Mankind scoffs at this being unfair and another argument against religion he has, to which Dante simply mused that at best he should expect to wait the 50,000 years in the "Negligent Rulers" section, presuming he's not thrown into Hell for his extreme actions.
  • The Seven Terraces are modeled after the Seven Deadly Sins. The Grand United Alliance of Evil doesn't get how this is supposed to be distinct from the Inferno's take on it, but Dante explains that they are based off motives, not actions, and represent his idea that they are related to twisted forms of love. A perverted love directed to harming others for the first three terraces, a deficiency for the fourth, and an excessive or disordered love of good things. The House of Love is often in debate about how true this view is.
  • Examples of the corresponding virtue are present to help with atonement. Dante angrily rebukes the GUAL Virtuous Stars being the examples, half out of his focus on Christianity and half because he considers YHVH a malevolent mockery of a loving God and the Virtuous Stars are associated with it.
    • The first terrace is for pride, weighed down by holding stones that represent their hubris. Interestingly Vegeta was not considered for it despite being the God of Pride, since the end of the Buu saga had proven he had truly repented. Still, Dante feels most of the House of Pride that aren't evil should work there, such as Katsugi Bakugo and Trixie.
    • The second terrace is for envy, and its corresponding virtue is generosity. Dante speculates the reason why Envy the Jealous was depicted in Heaven and not in Hell In Memorium is because his pitiful end led him here, and he eventually atoned. He would have to had his eyes sown shut to do so as part of purging sins, and is one of the things the Ministry of Atonement complains about. If there is any truth of it, Envy doesn't remember himself.
    • The third terrace is wrath, with meekness being the corresponding virtue. The souls of the wrathful walk around in blinding acrid smoke, which symbolizes the blinding effect of anger. Denizens of the House of Fire and Heat joked at this purging being an average Tuesday afternoon for them, and Dante wouldn't know what someone from there would have as an ordeal. Of course, no-one is significantly wrathful while also not being so much so they would be sent to Hell. The House of Anger might have to watch out, though.
    • The fourth terrace is sloth, with zeal being the corresponding virtue. Again, Dante had to remind the Grand United Alliance of Law that he does not think they're an example to be emulated in Purgatory. The souls run around and engage in ceaseless activity. He also considers spiritual laziness and apathy something to overcome here, which the House of Faith is noting down.
    • The fifth terrace is for the avaricious, who lie face down and recite the psalm Adhaesit pavimento anima mea, a prayer that express the desire to follow God's law. Being humble is the corresponding virtue. Dante has warned the House of Commerce on this terrace, though it's only really Phillip Price seeking an atonement. The rest of the house don't truly fit avarice, are virtuous enough for Heaven or vile enough for Hell, or simply don't feel a need to search for atonement.
    • The sixth terrace is for gluttony. It's reminiscent of Tantalus, with fruit from a tree forever out of reach, and the corresponding virtue is temperance. As such, Dante is critical of the House of Food.
    • Finally there is the seventh terrace, for lust. An immense wall of flame one must pass, though again this makes it kind of cheap for those associated with the House of Fire and Heat. As far as Dante is concerned, both lust sub-houses should be removed from the House of Love and face either this or, depending on their morality, the second circle of Hell. Most sub-houses
  • At the top is Earthly Paradise, better known as the Garden of Eden. Allegorically, it represents the state of innocence that existed before Adam and Eve fell from grace - he state which Dante's journey up Mount Purgatory has been recapturing. The SCP Foundation was surprised to learn that Dante somehow made it pass the Gate Guardian without a scratch, and wonder if using Purgatory as a way of getting past security is a possibility. However they're unlikely to pursue it without being more trouble than it's worth.
  • The Ministry of Atonement has seen its members go to Purgatory as part of their redemption, as have others.
  • Butch Hartmann has revealed that the Ghost Zone is somewhat of an alternate version of purgatory and limbo. With this in mind, Dante believes that except for Dark Danny, the terraces of Purgatory could one day see a redemption to many of the ghosts. He'd place Ember McClain would go to Pride because of her desire to be ever remembered, and Desiree would go to Envy because of her backstory. Outside of the pantheon, he considers Lunch Lady for Gluttony, Johnny 13 for the Late Repentant and Sidney Poindexter for Wrath.
  • Rumor has it there are other areas Dante missed out on his journey, but he is adamant that nobody is Jesus there. Some of these areas are an afterlife for monsters and prison for the Leviathans, a Dark World, meant for neutrally aligned deities, a nice suburb and a white void. It might also be where the pencil pushers of the afterlife work.

@Tensei: Since the net root of the GUA leadership cluster @&$& profiles is Great Upheaval, the bulk of the blame for the current mess can be solely put on Puella Madoka Magica Rebellion Story.

Basically, due to Executive Meddling from Mr. Shinbo, a clear cut end of the franchise got replaced with an ambiguous murky Cliff Hanger Endinf for the sole purpose of creating more material (basically money was the motive). 6.5 years later, the new material never came.

The “howdunnit” of the whole thing was never explained, ie the ending is an Ass Pull too.

The last 15 minutes of the film are widely regarded (and critically panned) as the worst part of the movie that gives the entire franchise a black eye as a Dethroning Moment Of Suck.

All we have in this murky trash fire is Word of Saint Paul (summarized as Homura having good intentions but being insane but remorseful of the act thanks to basically being tortured to insanity by the Incubators Isolation Field). The rest is trying to piece shit together and adapt it here.

By the way, wasn't there a story that was pretty much an edgy Kamen Rider fanfic transplanted onto the Trope Pantheon, and resulted into the "friendship asylum" nonsense? There was also the "Morality Civil War" which is just about people arguing about Lichi Faye Ling's Hazy-Feel Turn and a tale involving the CMC getting trapped in Limbo? I keep seeing these details in older profiles, which might cause Continuity Lockout for newcomers. Anyways, I don't really get myself involved in too much of this "lore" stuff.

That PMMM concept movie's most likely will never get realized, and I'm not sure if the mobile game will impact something regarding the main plot.

[up] What I find hilarious about that is that they used Gentaro Kisaragi, whose Kamen Rider storyline is meant to be much more Lighter and Softer compared to most of the other entries.

But if you ask me, The Friendship Asylum is a bunch of bullcrap that deserves to be retconned into non-canon IMO.
