Go To

Peter was tired of being the universe's punching bag. Couldn't the poor guy catch a break? After the events of Kindred, a nice calming patrol seems like a great idea. Nothing could go wrong so soon after right? Norman is reformed, Kingpin as far as he knows is keeping his hands clean. No super world ending events on the horizon...a patrol sounds nice. After all what could go wrong?

The Greatest of Them All is a Spider-Man Peggy Sue fanfic that has Peter Parker deal with his most devastating loss ever: the destruction of the multiverse. However, a meeting with the One Above All grants him a chance to prevent this from happening. This is done by having his mind travel back to when he was born. The story follows Peter as he tries to live his second chance to make everything better and save everyone.

It can also be read here.

    A-H
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Implied. Death brags about her kiss with Peter to Thanos right after the latter watches it happen.
  • Accidental Pornomancer: Peter doesn't intend or even try to attract the attention and affection of the numerous women in his life. He himself is confused as to why they're all attracted to him.
    • It's later explained that part of this is due to just how sincere Peter is.
  • The Ace: Thanks to all the changes in his circumstances, Peter is seen as a kind, popular, athletic, and rich genius who has a loving family and the affection of many beautiful women.
  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: Several people have less traumatic backstories thanks to the differences in the timeline.
    • The Parkers grow up as a loving family instead of being separated due to Richard and Mary's deaths.
    • Ernst Sablinova and Walter Hardy are spared their canon fates due to meeting the Parkers, so both Silver and Felicia have had much happier childhoods.
      • It's later specified that Felicia won't be raped in this timeline.
      • It's later confirmed that Ernst avenging his wife instead of Silver doing so is partially why she's happier in this timeline.
    • Mary-Jane has a happier life in this timeline due to Peter pointing out Philip Watson's problems to his father and uncle.
    • Flash mentions that his father got an intervention for his alcoholism, so he doesn't have a violent drunk of a father abusing him like in canon. It's later explained that this was due to Richard Parker noticing that something was off with Harrison Thompson.
    • Both Tessa and Emma join Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, causing them to have much happier childhoods compared to canon.
    • David Xavier is being raised by his biological parents, so his relationship with his father Charles isn't strained like in canon.
    • This timeline has Elektra's original backstory, so she wasn't sexually abused by her father and her mother never cheated on her father.
  • Adaptational Angst Upgrade: Peter has PTSD over being killed multiple times by Kindred, something that didn't happen in the comics as he moved on immediately.
  • Adaptational Badass: Peter is much stronger than he previously was thanks to both Death's blessing and an increase in Chaotic Energy from witnessing the end of the previous timeline. Also, due to the resources that Parker Industries provides him, Peter can make more advanced tools and suits to help him when he goes out as Spider-Man.
    • Peter's abilities are 3x greater than before.
    • Even before the increase, Word of God is that the author thinks Peter can injure average Asgardians.
    • Peter can now channel Nether energy through the chaotic aspect of the Web of Life to get a power up thanks to his connection to Death. This results in all of his physical abilities getting even stronger, including his Healing Factor.
    • Thanks to the Other making contact with Peter during his fight to save Earth from Dormammu's plan to free the One Below All, he regains his memories of the magic spells he learned in Symbiote Spider-Man: Alien Reality.
    • Peter will build suits that will increase his base stats even more.
    • When channeling the Chaotic Aspect of the Web, Peter is hitting Marvel's Tier 7 for strength.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: Happens with a bunch of characters thanks to the changes in this new timeline.
    • Johnny and Sue Storm, as well as Mary-Jane Watson, all first appear as children rather than as late teens/young adults.
    • Teresa is shown as a child instead of a young adult.
    • Silver Sable makes her first appearance as a teenager instead of a young woman.
    • Black Widow and Hawkeye are already active and work for SHIELD before Peter gets bitten by the radioactive spider.
    • Also invoked when Peter tells SHIELD where to find Captain America, resulting in the Steve being unfrozen early, even before Tony Stark becomes Iron Man.
    • Peter is introduced to Elektra when both are still teens, whereas her first appearance in canon happened when she was already an adult.
    • Madame Web reaches out to Peter much earlier in this timeline due to Death telling her to warn Peter about Dormammu's Evil Plan.
    • The Other talks to Peter not too long after he starts being Spider-Man again.
    • Tessa, Emma Frost, and David, son of Charles Xavier, all appear during the early days of Xavier's instead of much later in life.
  • Adaptational Friendship:
    • Peter is Childhood Friends with MJ, Susan, and Johnny, and has been close to Felicia and Silver since he was at least a tween. In the comics, he doesn't meet any of them until much later in life.
    • Jessica is friends with Liz and Sally rather than being a social outcast who never interacted with them.
  • Adaptational Intelligence: Downplayed with the One Below All. In the comics, it is a Broken Record who only repeats a few sentences; here, it communicates with Peter, and is capable of having a full conversation without using someone else, and sounds rather affable. Not that it stopped Peter from feeling terrified for talking with the God of Evil.
"Hello Peter." The words glowed against the screen. Chilling Peter to his bones at this machine knowing his name. The ringing in his head was like a crescendo now it was getting his blood roaring as his body wanted to move.
    • Thanks to Peter's tutoring, several of his friends in Midtown are smarter compared to canon.
    • Similar to Peter's friends in Midtown, the students in Xavier's are also smarter compared to canon.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Iceman will be straight in this story due to the author disliking how he was not portrayed as gay for over 50 years.
  • Adaptation Amalgamation: The origins of the spider that bit Peter and Cindy utilizes both the Spider-Totem mythology and the forgotten reason given in Spider-Man: Fever.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: Several people are different compared to how they were in the previous timeline.
    • Peter thinks that Silver seems more laid back than in the previous timeline, likely due to having her father to rely on in this timeline. It's later explained that this is because she's not the sole provider for Symkaria thanks to her father providing financial support as well.
    • Peter sees that Felicia is much better emotionally than in the previous timeline, possibly because her father is still in her life.
    • Peter notes that Black Widow is much more stoic than in the previous timeline. It's later explained to be partially due to being on more assassination missions than seduction missions this time around.
    • Umar is seen as the lesser evil between her and Dormammu when it comes to how the Dark Dimension is going to be ruled, which is absolutely not the case in the comics. When she kisses Peter, he notes that her kiss lacks experience; in the comics she's good enough at sex to knock out the Hulk. She also shows care for Clea, while her comics counterpart only entertained the idea of loving Clea in Strange #4, over 50 years after their debuts! It's later explained that Peter was Umar's first experience with sexual intimacy in this timeline, which made her see sex as more than just a tool. Also, Clea will definitely be inheriting more of Umar's traits, mainly because Umar was more active in her life and partly due to simple Shared Family Quirks.
    • Peter himself; he can sound rather shy and nervous around women despite hardly ever acting like that in the comics themselves even when he was a teenager, and he was never like that as an adult either. This is later justified as Peter feeling self-conscious about how his body reacts to women. However, this will slowly go away once he hits the legal age of consent.
    • Several of Peter's old friends in Midtown are better people in this timeline compared to how they were at this point in the previous timeline.
      • Liz Allan is much more thoughtful and thinking of how to better herself earlier than in the previous timeline.
      • Sally Avril has lessened her Attention Whore tendencies.
      • Jessica Campbell is more confident and happy due to having good friends in Liz and Sally rather than being a lonely wallflower.
      • Flash isn't a bully due to Peter nipping that kind of behavior early in his childhood. He's also very envious of Peter due to how the latter is both better than him in every way and has a much better life. However, he is also more introspective, realizing that a big part of his envy is due to knowing that he wouldn't be anywhere as near of a good person if he was in Peter's shoes. It's explained that this introspection is a result of Flash being more mature in this timeline.
    • Emma is happier and less uptight in this timeline. The is due to having positive support after attending Xavier's. It's explained that the latter is also because Emma's willing to accommodate and also participate/eat the things Peter likes.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • The changes in this new timeline has led to Peter having very different relationships with everyone in his life.
      • Peter forges a mentor student relationship with Charles Xavier. In the comics, they are more acquaintances or know each other professionally, with Peter being more friendly with Charles' students instead.
      • Instead of an intellectual social outcast in Midtown and Flash's favorite bullying target, Peter is the rich, strong, handsome, and smart tutor who's popular with the ladies and the envy of the guys, especially Flash.
      • Peter is seen as a good friend and fellow student among the first class of X-Men instead of an ally who's really only friendly with some of them in the previous timeline.
    • Charles stayed with Gabrielle Haller instead of amicably ending their relationship, so the two get married and raise their son David together.
    • Flash isn't the Big Man on Campus he was in the previous timeline, and instead is seen as just a member of Peter's group who's kind of a jerk to Peter.
    • Jean and Emma seem to be budding friends with a bit of romantic rivalry instead of having an intense and serious rivalry as they did in the previous timeline.
    • Lydia Hardy has a healthier relationship with both her husband and daughter in this timeline as a result of Walter being hired by Parker Industries and staying in his family's life.
  • Adorably Precocious Child: Peter comes across as this growing up due to being an adult mentally.
  • Age-Gap Romance: Several of Peter's lovers will be older than him, ranging from several years to much older.
  • Age Lift: Played with. Black Widow is the same age chronologically as in the previous timeline. However, she appears younger due to getting the Russian Super Soldier Serum at an earlier age and being put in cryostasis before being awakened by SHIELD.
  • All Amazons Want Hercules: Agent Valentina Allegra de Fontaine is a high ranking member of SHIELD and a personal confidante of Nick Fury. It's implied that her attraction to both him and Peter is due to their competence in combat.
  • All-Loving Hero: Peter has an immense amount of compassion that will make itself known to others, both as Peter Parker and as Spider-Man.
  • All Women Are Lustful: Downplayed. All of Peter's lovers will be pretty horny for him.
  • Altar Diplomacy: Peter marries Umar to seal an alliance between Earth and the Dark Dimension.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: Silver gives one of these twice in Chapter 15. She makes her first attempt after Peter reveals his Dark Secret, but he interrupts her by revealing that he was 28 when he was sent back and that he's technically married. After seeing Peter's memories, she successfully declares that she loves him, and he reciprocates.
[after seeing Peter's memories] "I love you, Peter! You stupid fool! I'll follow you anywhere. To the Ends of the Earth or to a home full of love for you. I love you. I love you. IloveyouIloveyou…"
  • Apocalypse How: The One Below All causes a Class X-5 by tricking several cosmic beings into creating new incursions. The only reason it isn't a Class Z is seemingly because its minions, Green Goblin and Ultimate Green Goblin, wanted to leave Spider-Man alive to taunt him.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: After Richard and Peter get back home after Hydra's attack at the Air Force base, Richard straight up asks Peter several questions about the latter's actions, forcing Peter to reveal a few more details about the previous timeline, though not without mixing in some lies and half-truths.
"I’m going to come right out and ask what’s bothering me. Why are you calm about getting shot at? Did you know before we went in about the Hulk? And if so, what else aren’t you telling me?"
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Downplayed. Peter's attempts to annoy Silver with his Motor Mouth in Chapter 6 fall flat, much to his surprise.
Peter took a glance to see that Silver was noticeably relaxed and had the hints of a smile on her face. He scrunched up his face.
"Okay, what gives? You are too relaxed right now. If you weren't the one to drive us here I would have thought you napped on the way here." Peter asked.
Silver laughed. "I simply feel calm and relaxed surely there doesn't need to be a reason for that?"
Peter grumbled, "I was talking the whole time how has that not at least gotten on your nerves?"
Silver hummed in thought before shrugging as Peter lead them inside. "You always sound amazed or excited when you ramble. I've simply learned to enjoy when it happens."
  • Battle Couple: Peter's parents are former top agents of the CIA, and later SHIELD, who were trusted and skilled enough to steal information from Hydra.
  • Big Brother Mentor: Peter is this to Iceman.
  • Big Man on Campus: Peter is this for Midtown High School despite the fact that he isn't actually a student attending classes there; he's a tutor for some of the school's students.
  • Big "WHAT?!":
    • Peter reacts this way after learning from Death that Nightmare targeted Peter when he was 6, learned about the previous timeline, and shared this info with other beings for various reasons.
      "Waitwaitwait. WHAT?"
    • Peter is incredulous to learn from Madame Web that he and the Sorcerer Supreme will have to fight Dormammu to prevent him from freeing the One Below All.
'Ex-fucking-scuse me?! I'M GOING TO WHAT?!'
    • Agent Val gives one of these after Nat tells her that she and Peter went to the movies together.
  • Black Widow: Natasha has trained to do this, as befitting her Code Name.
Natasha was confused, she's no stranger to seeing humans copulate throughout many stages, normally when she was about to kill them. And the furthest she's had to implement her training was to seduce a target away from a crowd, a whisper in the ear, a heavy kiss and heated breath, before killing them. Yet she never felt the need to do anything before with anyone else. Not like she suddenly felt with Peter.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: As Faltine, Umar and Clea have very different morals from humans.
  • Bodyguard Babes: Peter initially gets Silver as his bodyguard after Parker Industries hires Silver International to act as the company's security. After he becomes Spider-Man and reveals both his secrets to Nick Fury, the latter assigns Natasha and Agent Val as his bodyguards for when he goes out on patrol.
  • Bodyguard Crush:
    • Silver Sable is Peter's personal bodyguard and is one of the many women pursuing him.
    • After Peter reveals his identity to Fury, the latter assigns Natasha and Agent Val as his bodyguards for when he goes out as Spider-Man. Not too long afterwards, both develop feelings for Peter.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Once Peter gets his powers, he becomes much more powerful and capable than all his bodyguards.
  • Bond Creatures: The spider that bites Peter survives this time around and Peter takes it in as a pet. Unknown to him at the time, the spider has human level intelligence. Peter also doesn't like being apart from the spider when he's in the Baxter Building.
  • Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: General Ross is not happy when he learns that Peter seems to be getting very close to his daughter. As per canon, he also doesn't like how close she is with Bruce Banner.
  • Broken Ace: Even though Peter's life in the new timeline is infinitely better than his old one, he still has severe self-esteem issues and a tendency to sacrifice his own well-being for others.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: The author goes over the possibility of Teresa joining the polycule.
  • Building Swing: In addition to the web-slinging Spider-Man, several characters, like Black Widow or Elektra, travel across the city this way.
  • Bulletproof Vest: Parker Industries has developed improved body armor that can withstand bullets, though Peter keeps a better version for himself to use as Spider-Man. The only reason people bought the story that the regular body armor saved Peter's life when he was shot by Hydra is because Val stole the tapes that showed otherwise.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Before her Anguished Declaration of Love, Silver tries to confess a few times but keeps backing out at the last second.
  • The Casanova: Peter will have a reputation of being this.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Johnny has struck out with both Felicia and Silver off-screen.
  • Cassandra Truth: Some people won't believe Peter when he explains how he ended up having a harem.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Peter has one of these in the beginning of Chapter 11 which ends with his Uncle Ben dying in a home invasion like in the previous timeline.
  • Celibate Hero: Peter will only be sexually intimate with women who want to emotionally and spiritually marry him.
  • The Champion: Peter becomes Death's Champion so that he can act as her fallback in case something happens to her. It comes with several perks, including a massive power boost.
  • The Charmer: Peter is very good at getting the attention of the women in his life, but he himself doesn't always notice this. It's all thanks to his sincerity.
  • Chick Magnet: Most of the women in Peter's social circle have or will have a crush on him.
  • Childhood Friends: Peter is this with MJ, Susan, and Johnny thanks to the changes in his life.
  • Child Prodigy: Peter came across as this before he became a teen again thanks to having his memories of the previous timeline.
    • He demonstrates this in a flashback to Winston Frost back when he was 11, to prove that he is indeed a genius in order to convince him to have Emma enroll at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Peter suffers from this, stating to Death that what he wants to do with his second chance is to save everyone.
    • Peter will eventually manage this trait so that he can learn to delegate.
    • Agent Val observes in Chapter 10 that, when going out as Spider-Man, Peter not only stops criminals like bank robbers and purse snatchers, but also tries to help out with whatever little problem the people he comes across have at the time, like getting a balloon a child lost or helping a lost tourist couple.
    • Peter tries be helpful in every capacity.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Several of the women who are after Peter get jealous when he's around other women, sometimes even when he just mentions them.
    • Silver is briefly annoyed with Peter after he runs into Cindy Moon.
Peter stared at her back for a bit before turning to look at Silver who was characteristically silent with no emotion on her face.
"What do I have something on my face?" Peter asked faux affronted at her stare.
      Silver continued staring.
      "What? What is it?"
    • Felicia pretends to not even know Silver's name when talking to Peter, referring to her as "that grey-haired woman".
    • Val lets out a Big "WHAT?!" after she learns that Peter took Nat to the movies.
    • A technically platonic variant occurs after Silver learns that Peter has SHIELD bodyguards when he goes out as Spider-Man. She is outraged and demands that he make her tech that will allow her to follow him when he goes out because he is hers to guard. Notably, she doesn't know at the time that his bodyguards are two very beautiful women in Natasha and Valentina.
    • Jean and Emma have a low-key rivalry when it comes to Peter and sometimes try to one-up each other when trying to get his attention. This becomes more complicated after they learn that Tessa is also interested in him.
    • Several of the women interested in Peter will be envious/jealous of the fact that Peter and MJ have a song.
    • Natasha is instantly jealous after hearing Peter talk about his future daughter, and later again after learning of Cindy Moon and the pheromones she and Peter release when near one another, causing her to suspect that Cindy was the mother of his future daughter.
    • Sue gets jealous of all the attractive women surrounding Peter, but does her best to actively avert this because she doesn't want to come off as a jealous bitch.
    • Silver is hurt and jealous after watching a video of Peter as Spider-Man fighting criminals alongside Val and Uzume and demands that he finally tell her what he's been keeping from her. It's explained to be due to feeling like she can't help the man she loves by not knowing almost everything about him.
  • Closest Thing We Got: Once Peter is old enough to plausibly talk on his own, he makes contact with Charles Xavier as the telepath is the first person he can think of who possesses superhuman abilities whom he can also convince of the truth of his experiences, even though Xavier and Peter didn't interact on a truly regular basis in the original timeline.
  • Clueless Chick-Magnet: Peter is oblivious to the fact that numerous women in his life are interested in him.
  • Cock Fight: Some men will challenge Peter in an attempt to get the attention of one or more of the women interested in Peter.
  • Consummate Professional: Silver tries to be this when on the job. However, she is still human and can break her stoicism at times.
    • Tessa acts as professional as possible after she is hired to be Peter's secretary despite Peter telling her that she doesn't have to act that way. She succeeds to the extent that some of the other girls don't think of her as a romantic rival.
  • Contrived Coincidence: Of all the surgeons who could've been brought in to help Richard Parker after his last mission with his wife, it turns out to be Franklin Storm, father of Sue and Johnny Storm.
    • Even more coincidentally, Peter was actually thinking on whether or not he should try to save Sue and Johnny's parents right as he passes by them in the hospital parking lot and before he ends up in a car accident with them.
  • Control Freak: Tessa feels the need to be in control whenever possible in order to feel safe.
  • Covert Pervert: Natasha takes advantage of the fact that Peter has to press her against himself when he carries her while web-slinging to feel his body.
  • Crush Blush: Peter's Love Interests tend to blush when he smiles at them, or otherwise interacts with them closely.
  • Cry into Chest:
    • Felicia cries into Peter's chest after he and Richard return from their trip to an Air Force base due to the fact that she heard Peter was shot, and cries harder after Richard reveals that Peter was shot multiple times.
    • Silver cries into Peter's chest before she confonts Peter about the video showing him fighting alongside Val and Uzume and after she sees his memories of the previous timeline thanks to Death.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Thanks to his abilities, tech, and knowledge, Peter is able to make quick work of most enemies in a direct fight.
    • The first time Spider-Man meets Black Widow, the latter attempts to subdue him. All her efforts get her nothing and he effortlessly subdues her instead.
    • Peter effortlessly takes down the team of Skrulls that are trying to infiltrate Earth.
    • After Peter starts trying in his spar with Silver after getting his powers, he dominates each round while holding back most of what he can do out of fear of injuring her.
    • Spider-Man's first spar with "Uzume" ends in a second.
Before her mouth finished closing, Peter disappeared in a blur; a feminine yelp was let out as Uzume was now pressed to the ground, Peter looming over her, with her arms both captured in one hand, the other keeping himself upright so as not to press against her. His feet were wrapped around hers. Not an official pin, and if it weren't Peter performing it, his opponent's feet would be able to break free to gain leverage.
  • Cure for Cancer: Peter might not be the one who creates a cure for cancer in this story.
  • Dance of Romance: In Chapter 11, Peter dances with MJ after the song that MJ claimed was their song in the previous timeline starts playing on the radio.
Kung-fu fighting wasn't really a song Peter thought you could do anything but sway with the beat to, but that was obviously wrong when his then girlfriend showed him differently. Going through the motions again, even with an MJ that didn't remember, was doing wonders for his embarrassment though, midway through all Peter felt was joy and peace.
  • Darker and Edgier: Averted, as the author says he hates unnecessary edge.
  • Dark Secret: Peter is not exactly thrilled about letting other people know about the fact that he time travelled and is living his second chance at life. However, he knows that the people close to him will need to know about it eventually and shares this info when necessary.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Peter is a snarker as always, but he tones it down when he becomes Spider-Man again because he's the only active superhero at the time. This causes some people to approve of him, as he seems like a more serious and taciturn figure when he stays silent.
He couldn't fault them, and it did fit. Other than helping the random citizen or tourist with some minor problem, he hasn't stopped to chat. With the knowledge that he was the only hero out and about right now, he's been quick on stopping crime and then searching for the next crook. He's barely even cracked out a joke like he usually would.
  • Death by Adaptation: Black Widow's father figure Ivan Petrovitch died at some point before she was cryogenically frozen.
  • Death Glare: Thanos gives one of these to Peter for kissing the girl of his dreams.
  • Deducing the Secret Identity: Silver figures out that Peter is Spider-Man as, not too long after the vigilante makes his debut, she notes that Peter has somehow gotten superhuman abilities and gotten a pet spider.
  • The Defroster: Peter is able to be this to various women, like Silver or Natasha, sometimes unintentionally.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Death reveals that Dormammu's plan to release the One Below All and barricade himself and his followers within the combined Earth and Dark Dimension to survive the multiverse's destruction wouldn't have worked because the effort would've left him severely weakened and gotten himself and everyone else destroyed.
  • Did You Just Romance Cthulhu?:
    • Peter learns that becoming Death's Champion also basically means they're married.
    • He also ends up marrying Umar to seal an alliance between Earth and the Dark Dimension while simultaneously earning Clea's affection.
  • Dismissing a Compliment: Peter often does this, partially due to his humble nature, and partially due to feeling that he's not worthy of praise because he's only gotten as far as he has due to that fact that he's gotten a second shot at life to do things better than last time.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: As a side effect of getting more power due to being The Champion of Death, Peter now has to learn how to hold back even more, especially when fighting against/interacting with normal people.
  • Doppelmerger: Dormammu does this with this past self after learning of the previous timeline through Nightmare.
    • His follower, Orini, follows suit when accompanying Dormammu.
  • Dramatic Irony: Peter's thought about Moira after seeing her on a magazine is more poignant than he knows.
'Well Moira, I hope someone's able to get you out of whatever rut you're in.'
  • Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: Peter notices that Moira has these after seeing her on a magazine in Chapter 11.
The woman looked tired, or perhaps a better word would be to say apathetic, as though someone was pressuring her to be there and she eventually relented. Her hair looked bright and vibrant for a brunette and her pale skin shone with luster, but her eyes beheld a tiredness that made Peter remember the short time he believed all was lost. He felt uncomfortable staring further.
  • Dye Hard: Emma starts out with her natural brown hair color but will dye it blonde as she does in the comics. invoked
  • Eating the Eye Candy: Peter and his various lovers tend to stare and admire one another when the opportunity presents itself. Several other people also admire Peter and his various lovers' looks.
    • Spider-Man's ass gets featured in Women's Magazine.
SPIDER-HUNK: BIG BUNS TO HAVE YOUR MAN WORK FOR?
'You've got to be kidding me! I don't have a big butt!' His mind quickly flittered through memories of the times it was commented on before. Combined with the fact that he's only been Spider-Man for about a month, he felt exasperated that it was being highlighted.
    • When Silver first gets to look through Peter's memories thanks to Death, she takes a moment to admire how much more handsome Peter was and ogle his ass.
He stood at least two inches or so taller than his younger height, and packed on quite a bit more muscle. The suit he was wearing, like Death mentioned, was hugging his body enough to showcase that if Peter continued as he was he'd cut quite the lean figure, not that his younger build was any less attractive, this one was simply more… virile. An unbidden thought crossed her mind and Silver moved to check behind Peter. 'Ah, it's larger than before…' She shook her head. What was she doing, she could have time to ogle Peter later.
  • Everyone Can See It: Peter is the only one oblivious to the fact that he's a Chick Magnet, with many of the women in his life being obviously interested in him.
  • Everyone Is Bi: Downplayed. All of Peter's lovers will be bisexual.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Peter trying to tell Death why Silver wouldn't be interested in becoming a member of his (currently nonexistent) harem causes him to think deeply about how she acts around him and realize that she is interested in him.
Peter stared at her bewildered. "Why would I bring it up to Silver, we actually do have a strictly professional relationship. Other than the teasing we give each other, or how she apparently likes to listen to me ramble, or how she makes any excuse she can to tou-" Peter stopped himself short. "Shit," he muttered.
  • Explaining Your Power to the Enemy: Averted. Peter will be hiding the existence of his Spider-Sense from his enemies.
  • Expressive Mask: Averted. Peter's helmet helps him hide what he's really feeling, which is helpful for when he doesn't want others to know when he feels scared, nervous, or embarrassed or if he needs to bluff.
  • Eye Colour Change: Peter's sclera and irises turn black and red respectively when he channels Nether energy.
  • Fancy Dinner: The Parkers aren't fond of attending these kinds of parties.
  • Fantastic Fighting Style: Peter uses the Way of the Spider, a martial art devised by Shang-Chi that takes advantage of Peter's specific abilities and targets the opponents' Pressure Points.
  • The Fashionista: Janet is the owner of a fashion design company and will give her input on the costumes of the members of the polycule.
  • Female Gaze: The story sometimes shows the POV of women interested in Peter while they ogle him.
    • Silver enjoys seeing the physical changes that come with Peter getting his powers again, especially as he's wearing workout gear she picked out for him.
'Was he always this muscular? He seems…bigger if only slightly. That shirt shows his abs very clearly…mmmm...very clearly…it's almost short enough for me to see…' She shook her head, blaming his more impressive physique on her own attraction and a combination of not seeing him with so few clothes in a while.
    • While following Peter through a vent, Nat gets a good look at his ass.
The redhead had an unfettered view of Peter's ass. Clothed, of course, but his tight-fitting undersuit did nothing to hide his glutes as his legs moved forward. She quickly felt the annoying heat emanate from her core as blood rushed through her body, preparing for something that would not happen anytime soon. The spy paused, taking a moment to calm herself, thankful Peter couldn't turn around and see what must have been her flushed face.
'Just use it as fuel for tonight… Get it together, Natasha. For Christ's sake, you're a professional spy.'
    • While watching a video that coincidentally gives Val a good look at Peter's ass, Peter jokes that she's trying to see if Women's Magazine is right about him. When she turns around to make a retort, she winds up enjoying a live show of Peter changing his clothes.
"Don’t tell me you’re checking to see if Woman’s Magazine is correct?" Peter asked from behind her.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end in irrational fear at not noticing him before his words processed in her mind. Her eyes flitted back to the screen and focused on the image. It was currently showing a view of him from the back, her finger must have slipped because it was paused. She blushed.
      'Wh-what!?' She wasn’t a pervert!
Val turned around trying to cool her features, best to respond to his comment before he got the wrong idea. She stopped herself midway from opening her mouth as she stared and got a live view of what was stuck on the screen. Peter was bent over as he put on his pants that she left folded with the rest of his clothes. She hated the part of her that wanted his unintentional show to continue. His thighs leading into a tush that loo– She shook her head.
  • First Kiss: Umar had hers with Peter.
  • Fix Fic: The author describes this story as sorta a fix fic.
  • Forceful Kiss: Death surprises Peter when she gives him a kiss to solidify his status as her Champion. He tries to resist a bit before deciding to reciprocate.
  • Friendless Background: Betty Ross didn't have any real friends before she met Peter. The closest she had were Bruce Banner, an older man whom she had a crush on, and Rick Jones, Bruce's teenage assistant.
  • Friendly Neighborhood Spider: Invoked by Peter, as in canon. Though due to his more professional look and tendency to look for more crimes to foil or people to help due to being the first active superhero in this timeline, he comes across as more camera shy or taciturn this time around.
She rolled her eyes at him and scrolled down, showing the forum members' posts. The first few posts were simple, either reporting how they've seen him stop a purse snatcher, bank robber, or break-in before leaving quickly with a wave and the occasional calling card… and calling him camera shy or, hell, taciturn. Ugh. Not the impression he wanted to give.
  • The Gadfly: As Spider-Man, Peter is always up for saying things that can annoy both his enemies and his allies.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Thanks to his intellect, his memories of all the tech he remembers, and the resources of Parker Industries, Peter is able to create revolutionary technology and create various tools, gadgets, and suits that he uses as Spider-Man.
  • Gamer Chick: Thanks to Peter introducing Umar to video games and her own perfectionism, she'll become a completionist. Several of Peter's lovers will also become gamers thanks to his influence.
  • General Ripper: Even after being told to leave the Hulk to Captain America and Spider-Man, General Ross orders his men to fire nets at him just as Spider-Man was convincing the Hulk to calm down and let go of Betty.
  • Good Parents: Richard and Mary Parker are loving parents and support Peter in all of his pursuits while also trying to look out for him by keeping him safe from the enemies they made from their previous job as CIA agents.
  • Gossipy Hens: The Silver International guards at Parker Industries gossip about Peter's success with women.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Peter's successful life inspires envy and jealousy in some of the people he interacts with.
    • Although no words are said, it's clear from his brief appearance that Thanos is jealous over the fact that Peter was chosen by Death herself to be her champion.
    • The guys at Midtown are envious of Peter, just to a lesser extent compared to Flash.
    • It's implied that Scott is envious of the fact that Peter has a loving family and is able to draw Jean's attention with little effort. It's later explained that, although Scott has a great respect for Peter, he feels that Peter unintentionally shows him up.
  • Guile Hero: After watching him interact with Clea, Natasha notes that Peter has a knack for manipulating people using his words and their emotions, though she also knows that Peter himself doesn't realize he's doing this.
  • Guilt Complex: As in canon, Peter has this, though it is even worse due to being the last survivor of the previous timeline. However, he will eventually let it go.
    • The author later adds that he is specifically talking about his feelings about Gwen and Uncle Ben's deaths.
    • Peter vocalizes some of his guilt when explaining to Nat why he can't take time off from patrolling to train with her and Val.
  • Happily Married: Thanks to the changes in the timeline, some couples are happier than they were in canon.
    • Charles marries his lover Gabrielle Haller and they raised their child David together.
    • It's mentioned that MJ's sister Gayle wasn't abandoned by her husband thanks to their better family situation.
    • Nat tells Peter that Hank Pym didn't lose his wife in this timeline and that he is very happy with her and their daughter.
  • Harem Genre: Peter will be getting the affection of many women, to the point that someone will actually call him a harem protagonist.
  • Has a Type: This will be discussed and averted. Peter will have so many different lovers that people will think that he doesn't have a type.
  • Healing Factor: Peter has a low level one. However, it can be boosted by channeling Nether energy through the chaotic aspect of the Web of Life.
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Charles saw in Peter's memories that both Magneto and Juggernaut are like this, but will still try to help them reform.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Despite how much better his life is in this new timeline, Peter still has self-esteem issues.
  • A Hero to His Hometown: Silver and her father are both seen as heroes in Symkaria.
  • Hero-Worshipper: Peter feels this way towards his heroes, especially the ones in the science community. Though he will learn to taper it in time.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • In Chapter 14, when Peter asks Sue what she's been doing that isn't work related, she reveals that she's been getting into sailing again.
    • Chapter 15 reveals that the reason Silver is so concerned over protecting Peter is because she doesn't want to lose another one of her loved ones the way she lost her mother.
  • Hollywood Provincialism: Averted. Several women are waiting for Peter to turn 17 before making their move.
  • Hologram: Peter creates augmented reality glasses to use for entertainment. However, as he doesn't specialize in this kind of tech, he hires Quentin Beck to work on holographic technology for Parker Industries.
  • Home Nudist: Peter and his lovers will be a downplayed version of this before they have kids. This will be due to laziness more than anything else.
  • Honest Corporate Executive: After Peter tells his parents about some of his memories, Richard decides to start up Parker Industries in this timeline and becomes this.
  • Honey Trap:
    • Both the KGB and SHIELD train their agents on how to do this, though Black Widow notes that their approaches differ slightly.
The KGB, after seeing her looks as she grew into her maturity, made sure she knew the type of asset she could be compared to some of the other recruits and so was trained with a few others on seduction in all of its aspects. Which was different from how SHIELD trained their recruits. SHIELD explained to her that they had LMDs to perform seduction missions that would require physical action and so female and male recruits are instead taught more about how to seduce a target emotionally.
    • Numerous people and organizations will attempt to do this on Peter after the existence of his harem becomes public knowledge.
    • Val notes that SHIELD has had to interrogate the numerous honey pots that Tony Stark has slept with.
  • Hormone-Addled Teenager: Peter blames his teenage hormones for why he's been thinking lustful thoughts about the women in his life. He'll accept that hormones aren't entirely to blame when he's able to safely feel like he can be a normal boy/man.
  • Housewife: Mary Storm is a stay at home mom, but generally visits her family and friends at work or home.
  • Hover Bike: Agent Val uses one of these in order to keep up with Peter when he goes out as Spider-Man.
  • Humanizing Tears: To Silver's surprise, she cries during her heart-to-heart with Peter about him being Spider-Man and agreeing to reveal his Dark Secret to her soon, something she hadn't done since her mother was killed. She also cries after she watches a video of Spider-Man working with Val and Uzume before demanding that Peter tell her what he's been hiding.
  • Human Popsicle:
    • Black Widow was put in cryostasis and then awakened by SHIELD in this timeline, which is part of why she is biologically in her twenties instead of her thirties this time around.
    • As in canon, Captain America was frozen in a block of ice. He's awakened by SHIELD thanks to Peter informing them of Captain America's survival and giving them a rough estimate of where he was located.
  • Hurl It into the Sun: This is Nick Fury's suggestion after Peter tells him that they don't have anything that could kill the Hulk. Peter and Captain America are understandably disturbed that Fury would even suggest this.
  • Hypocrite: Peter is sort of one when it comes to kids and teens doing superheroics.

    I-P
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: After Silver demands that Peter not hold back in a spar, he stops using the martial arts that his parents taught him and starts using the Way of the Spider. He then proceeds to defeat her in every round.
  • Ignored Enamored Underling: Agent Val is clearly infatuated with Nick Fury. Unfortunately for her, he isn't interested in her at all. This leads to her giving up on Fury and moving on to Peter.
  • Ignore the Fanservice: Downplayed. Peter tries to avert his attention from Death, Umar, and Clea when they show up in his bedroom and sleep with him while naked, but it takes all his effort to not react to them being pressed up to him in a single bed.
  • I Hate Past Me: Silver is horrified to see what her counterpart from the previous timeline is like in Peter's memories.
'That fucking… bitch!' Did her older self have no shame? She understood that maybe Peter was in a relationship and beyond her, but did that mean she needed to debase herself and enter a romantic relationship with not only a criminal, but one who had killed a member of her family?! Knowingly at that?! What could he have possibly done to earn her trust?
    [...]
Silver's eyes widened before narrowing. "...What? So that's it? That's Peter's last memory of me before the multiverse was destroyed? Just… I was…" Broken and beaten, entering a relationship with her Uncle's killer. That was…
    'That's horrible.'
  • I Have Many Names: Peter will be getting many titles, though some of them will be funny ones made up by Johnny.
  • I Know Karate: Peter's parents have trained him in Pencak Silat, Krav Maga, and Systema.
  • Inelegant Blubbering: The first thing Betty does after she wakes up from fainting due to being squeezed by the Hulk is latch onto Peter and cry so much that her eyes and nose turn red. She doesn't stop until Black Widow points out that both she and Peter are injured and shouldn't strain themselves until they've recovered.
  • Insecure Love Interest: Peter is still insecure about himself, especially when it comes to romance, even with all of the changes in this new timeline.
  • Inspector Javert:
    • Downplayed with J. Jonah Jameson. Due to Peter's seemingly more taciturn attitude, impressive costume compared to canon, the fact that he's occasionally seen with a SHIELD agent, and the statistical analysis proving that Spider-Man's actions have notably lowered the city's crime rate, Jameson is far less negative when it comes to his articles about the wall-crawler, though he still has his complaints/criticisms.
    • Played straight with General Ross. Despite the fact that the Parkers are meeting him for a different reason, he demands that they use their intelligence to create a weapon to defeat the Hulk.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Even with the differences in this timeline, some things still happen.
    • Zig-zagged with Peter getting bitten by a spider and getting powers again. As Peter hoped, he once again gets bitten by a spider that results in him getting powers. However, the details are a bit different from the previous timeline. Instead of the spider biting him first near the end of the first exhibit, he is bitten second after Cindy Moon near the beginning of the second exhibit.
    • Although MJ has a happier home life in this timeline, she still chooses to stay with her aunt more often than not.
    • Even though Charles has changed his approach thanks to the info he got from Peter, he still has some manipulative tendencies.
    • Although he no longer needs to do it to earn money, Peter is thinking of taking up photography again in this timeline. It's explained that this will be mostly as a hobby.
  • Intellectual Animal: The spider that Peter takes in as a pet is much more intelligent that it should be thanks to the influence of the Great Weaver and the Arachnix tribe.
  • Internal Reveal: Peter has to reveal several of his secrets to his family, friends, and loved ones over time.
    • Silver figures out that Peter is Spider-Man in Chapter 10 and learns of Peter's life in the previous timeline in Chapter 15 thanks to some help from Death.
  • Interrupted Declaration of Love: Peter interrupts Silver's first Anguished Declaration of Love by revealing how old he was when he was sent back in time and the fact that he's married. He does this under the belief that no woman would agree to be in a harem. This earns him a scolding from Death, who convinces him to try and see if a polyamorous relationship could work and explain himself properly to Silver.
  • Interspecies Romance: Several of Peter's lovers aren't human.
    • Death is an Abstract Entity.
    • Umar and Clea are Faltine.
  • Irony:
  • I Should Have Been Better: Even in this new timeline, Peter feels like he could've done things better whenever something goes wrong, or he thinks something is not as good as it could've been. The first example of this was when he heard that Silver's mom died like in canon.
Peter looked confused before he remembered his own conversations with Silver himself. 'I forgot she explained the event that cemented her joining Ernst was her mother's death...If I remember right she died in front of her.' Peter thought guiltily. 'I'm over here trying to prevent my parents' death's but not trying to plan other ways to help all of my friends.' Shaking his head he thought to himself 'No time for moping right now. After this...after this, I'll make sure to save everyone. No one dies.'
  • It's All My Fault: Chapter 15 reveals that Silver feels this way about her mother's death.
It was because of her that those men tracked her and her mom down. It was because of her that she was dead. If she was better trained, if she was smarter and not as reckless, she could have spied on those men safely and gotten help instead of running back to where she felt safest after being caught.
  • The Jailbait Wait:
    • After she learns of Peter's circumstances and sees Peter in action as Spider-Man, Agent Valentina Allegra de Fontaine asks about Peter's mental age before travelling back in time and his current biological age, implying that she will be waiting for when Peter will be of legal age before pursuing him.
    • Sue's POV in Chapter 10 reveals that she's also doing this with Peter, having rejected everyone who's ever asked her out due to only wanting him.
    • Silver reveals in Chapter 15 that she's known that she was in love with Peter since she was 15, back when she first got to know him and he was only 12 years old. She was originally planning on telling him this when he was of age.
  • Jerkass to One: Flash acknowledges that he is only a Jerkass to Peter thanks to the latter drawing his attention and stopping all his attempts to bully others since they were little kids. Peter himself is fine with this, as Flash is nowhere near as bad as he was in the previous timeline.
  • Journey to the Center of the Mind: Death projects Peter's memories into Silver's mind by entering it, leaving the two of them in a black void unless the memories are playing. The author later confirms that Peter's other lovers will also see his memories this way, either through Death or telepathy.
  • Just Friends: Peter tries to claim that he's this with the women in his life, but no one really believes him.
  • Kinky Role-Playing: Peter and his lovers will indulge in various kinds of role-play.
  • Knight Templar Parent: Betty Ross mentions that her father has been very protective of her ever since her mother died.
  • Lady in Red: Elektra is tasked by the Hand in recruiting Peter, and, as in canon, her favorite color is red. When she gets a prototype body armor that Peter invented, she asks if she can get one in red. Later, when in disguise and asking to join Spider-Man, she wears a red shinobi shozoku and a matching red scarf to cover the bottom half of her face.
  • Last-Second Word Swap: When Elektra introduces herself to Spider-Man while in costume, she starts out by calling herself Theia before changing her mind and saying that her name is Uzume. It's later explained that she changed her mind about going by Theia because its connection to her real name was too obvious.
  • Locked Out of the Loop:
  • Long Game: The Hand is using Elektra to try and recruit Peter, and is willing to take its time with it.
  • Love Dodecahedron: Peter's polycule will result in this alongside Tangled Family Tree due to it including women who are related to one another (by blood, marriage, and/or adoption).
  • Magically-Binding Contract: One of the perks that Peter gets as Death's Champion is the ability act as an arbiter in her name for any disputes regarding all other beings that encompass her realm of Death and Destruction.
  • A Magic Contract Comes with a Kiss: Peter ends up doing this a few times.
  • Male Gaze: Though he usually won't admit it, Peter does get distracted sometimes by all the beautiful women around him.
    • Peter stares at Silver in her workout clothes before he gets control of himself again, though not before Silver realizes he was staring.
"Good morning." She said, moving to walk around his desk to stand near him, hip cocked to the side, an arm holding onto her waist. She was wearing a tank top and shorts that matched her hair and headband color. Combined with her pose it was provocative, at least to Peter, showcasing her large bust and taut abdomen since he was so close. 'Pretty sure if she turned around I'd seeeeeeeee– Stop it brain.'
      [...]
"What did you think was in the bag I was carrying? Get dressed. I'll meet you in your empty dojo room." She said confidently, already turning to walk away…meaning Peter saw her retreating form.
Showcasing her heart-shaped butt and powerful toned legs, her shorts moving to show the barest hint of inner thi–.
'…Gah what am I doing.' He shook his head and noticed Silver turning her head back towards the exit a glint of some emotion on her face, the door closing behind her shortly after.
      '…She totally caught me staring.'
    • Peter gets a little distracted watching Elektra in action while imagining her in her canon outfit.
The following route was again unnoteworthy, Spider-Man’s assuaging Elektra’s concern removed any fun he and possibly Val could have gained from watching her squirm. Honestly, the relatively slow pace and lack of action made it hard for his eyes not to drift from watching Elektra move gracefully through the air, each muscle clear beneath her shozoku to his eyes as the wind pressed the cloth against her body, for a moment his gaze was overtaken with her more revealing outfit as an assassin and he could clearly picture the skin of her tanned thighs leading toward her partially cloth covered as– He shook his head. Damn hormones. Peter was once again glad for wearing a helmet.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Charles still has some machinations, though they've been tempered thanks to his interactions with Peter. Peter, however, is unaware of Charles' manipulations.
  • The Many Deaths of You: Peter has a brief panic attack in Chapter 3 wherein he relives his numerous deaths at Kindred's hands.
Again and again, Peter couldn't help but see, hear, or feel a sensation that reminded him of which ways Harry had killed him. The ocean under them as they passed over the bridge, drowning. The seatbelt securing him, crushed to death. His chest and stomach bothering him from trying not to throw up, having his heart ripped out. It continued on well past just Kindred though. When his mind was done reliving the deaths caused by Kindred, seeing the green of his Uncle and Aunt's neighborhood brought him back to the events that caused him to be sent back.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: Death is interested in Peter despite the fact that she is immortal and he isn't, something he lampshades. She simply says that he could find a way to become immortal, or she could interact with him in the realm of the dead.
    • This will similarly happen with all of Peter's lovers who have longer lifespans than him, such as Umar and Clea.
  • Meaningful Name: Both names that Elektra decides to use while in disguise, Theia and Uzume, are related to her actual name in some way.
  • Meet Cute: Peter runs into Cindy Moon right before they go into the science expo where they'll spider powers.
  • Mental Time Travel: This happens to Peter at the end of Chapter 1 in order to prevent the destruction of the multiverse.
  • Millionaire Playboy: Peter will initially be seen as this due to being surrounded by beautiful women.
  • Mission Control: This will be Tessa's main role in the X-Men.
  • Mistaken Identity: Soon after Captain America wakes up from his hibernation, he sees Spider-Man and briefly mistakes him for the Red Skull.
  • Motor Mouth: Peter likes to ramble when given the chance. He admits to himself that this is because he liked testing individuals' breaking points for, in their words, his annoying voice.
  • My Girl Is a Slut: Gender-inverted. Death encourages Peter to start relationships with the multiple women he cares about.
    • The author later explains why Death is so enthusiastic about Peter being with more women.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Franklin Storm reacts this way after seeing that Peter, a young child, received a head injury after the Storms' car crashed into Ben Parker's car.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • When Peter meets the One Above All, he asks to be called Stan.
    • In Chapter 11, Peter thinks about the fact that MJ said Kung Fu Fighting was their song. This is canon to the comics and was said in Amazing Spider-Man #153.
    • Charles' plan for revealing the X-Men a year after Peter's debut as Spider-Man is a reference to how X-Men comics were first released a year after Spider-Man comics were first released.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Peter's intelligence and nerdy hobbies don't detract from how much of a catch women find him. In some cases, the former is part of why they like him in the first place.
  • Never Gets Drunk: In this story, Peter can't get drunk thanks to his Healing Factor.
  • Nice Guy: Peter is a kind, compassionate, and generous soul who always wants to do all that he can to help others. Peter is such a good person that, in addition to his other positive qualities, he almost, or does, comes across as an in-universe Marty Stu to some people.
  • Not So Stoic:
    • Silver likes to put up a stoic image as befits a Consummate Professional. However, the people she is close to, like Peter, are able to get past that and get her to act much more emotional.
      • She actually starts crying after she watches a video of Spider-Man working with Val and Uzume before demanding that Peter tell her what he's been hiding.
    • Similar to Silver, Natasha also puts up a stoic image while on the job, one that Peter is also able to get her to break out of.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Peter massages Felicia's wrists after accidently gripping them too hard when Walter walks in. Thankfully, he knows both Peter and his daughter too well to misunderstand the situation, so all he does is tease Peter a little.
  • Nouveau Riche: Both the Parkers and the Frosts are "new money". The former are later stated to be multimillionaires.
  • Oblivious to Love: Peter doesn't recognize numerous clear signs that several women like him because he's clueless about certain social aspects that are more subtle. As such, he won't figure it out unless they are very forward, someone spells it out, or someone gets him to think about their actions deeply.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: SHIELD has thwarted assassination attempts on the Parkers by Hydra, though none of them were major.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Peter reacts this way after Death reveals that Thanos was watching them the entire time they were talking, including their kiss.
    • Peter panics after he realizes that he forgot about the fact that Cindy Moon ends up in a bunker not too long after she's bitten by the spider that also gave him powers thanks to Ezekiel Sims.
  • Ominous Message from the Future: Peter Parker's memories are sent back to the moment of his birth after the One Below All destroys the multiverse. Once Peter is old enough to plausibly talk, he makes contact with Professor Charles Xavier to ask for his help in preparing to thwart the future destruction, as Xavier has the experience and powers necessary to help him and believe his tale.
  • Omniglot: Peter will eventually know most of the languages on Earth thanks in part to tutoring from his lovers.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. The matriarchs of the Parker and Storm families share a first name alongside at least one of Peter's Love Interests, and many other women will share first names as well. As such, nicknames will be used when people who share the same first name are near each other.
  • Open Mouth, Insert Foot: Peter observes in Chapter 2 that both he and his father tend to say or do something stupid when caught off guard.
    • He demonstrates this in Chapter 3 when, in response to Amelia Voght expressing concern due to him spacing out, he says: "I'm sorry for staring. I just thought you were too beautiful and was lost for words."
'Oh. My. God. Kill me now please.'
  • Orgasmically Delicious: During Peter's first date with Umar, the latter lets out rather inappropriate sounds after tasting human food for the first time.
"Mmmm" Umar moaned, causing Peter to choke and cough.
She stared and quickly chewed her food before asking. "Are you alright my consort?"
Peter nodded. "Yup. Yup. I'm alright just… choked a little on my food in surprise. Nothing to worry about."
  • Pair the Spares: The author isn't really interested in doing this.
  • Papa Wolf:
    • Ben Parker's reaction to seeing Franklin Storm approach Peter after their car crash is to kick the man away from his nephew.
    • General Ross is very protective of his daughter due to the Hulk's attempts to kidnap her. This is one of the main reasons for him wanting the Hulk captured.
  • Parental Incest: Several of Peter's lovers will have a mother-daughter relationship.
    • Umar allows Clea to join the polycule, much to the latter's joy.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: To Peter's dismay, one of the first things he hears after getting his powers again is his parents in the shower together.
'I'm building noise-canceling earphones and headphones again. Today. I did not need to hear my parents in the shower.'
  • Peggy Sue: Peter has to go through the experience of being born all over again, and takes this opportunity to do everything he can to make things better and prevent the destruction of the multiverse at the hands of the One Below All.
  • Point of Divergence: Several things are different in this timeline, with some of them not even being a result of Peter's actions.
    • After seeing Peter's memories, Charles Xavier decides that his school with be for mutants and mutates alike, in order to make it more inclusive and make more allies for the goal of peace and equality with baseline humanity.
    • Thanks to Peter and Charles' assistance, Peter's parents survive their last mission and raise Peter along with their daughter Teresa.
    • As a result of Franklin Storm, father of Sue and Johnny Storm, being brought in as Richard Parker's doctor after their last mission, Mary Storm doesn't die in a car crash, meaning Franklin doesn't descend into alcoholism and end up in prison. This also results in Sue and Johnny neither moving in with their aunt nor meeting Reed.
      • This also causes the Storms to meet the Parkers while Peter is still very young, leading to the families becoming good friends.
      • Johnny has a normal school life due to having his parents around and not feeling the need to become independent too soon.
    • Thanks to Charles learning of his illegitimate son's existence through Peter, he reconnects with his lover Gabrielle Haller and ultimately marries her. This also gives him the opportunity raise their son David.
    • Peter is Childhood Friends with MJ, Susan, and Johnny thanks to meeting them much earlier in his life this time around.
    • Due to Ernst Sablinova and Walter Hardy meeting the Parkers on the latter's final mission, Silver and Felicia don't lose their dads, leading to them being much happier than in the previous timeline.
    • Partially as a result of Hydra being rooted out thanks to the data retrieved by Richard and Mary Parker, Black Widow and Hawkeye are recruited into SHIELD instead of being an agent of the KGB and a circus performer turned criminal respectively.
    • The Skrulls' early attempt to infiltrate Earth is thwarted by Spider-Man and SHIELD instead of the Fantastic Four.
    • Elektra is sent to scout Peter by the Hand, so Peter ends up meeting her before Matt Murdock can.
    • Captain America is thawed out years early thanks to Peter telling SHIELD where to find him.
    • Peter's influence made it so that Liz Allan, Sally Avril, and Jessica Campbell became friends and better people than they were in canon at this time period.
    • Flash mentions that his father got an intervention for his alcoholism, meaning the latter isn't going to become the violent drunk he was in canon. It's later explained that this was due to Richard Parker noticing that something was off with Harrison Thompson.
    • Thanks to the info Charles got from Peter, Tessa was enrolled at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters as one of its first students in this timeline instead of being made Charles' spy in the Hellfire Club.
    • Due to Richard and Peter accompanying Charles when he went to recruit Emma Frost, her father Winston agreed to have her attend Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters.
    • As a result of being made aware of their existence early, the Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters is helping out the Morlocks via volunteer work.
    • Due to Reed's rocket having better shielding thanks to Parker Industries, Reed and Ben aren't exposed to cosmic rays.
    • As Hank Pym didn't lose his wife in this timeline, the two of them get to raise their daughter while Hank works for SHIELD instead of throwing himself into his work and subsequently become Ant-Man. It's later explained that this resulted in Hank making a breakthrough for personal use of Pym Particles much later in this timeline.
    • Bruce became the less intelligent/child-like Hulk earlier in this timeline due to being shell-shocked from an explosion and seeing Hydra almost kill Betty.
    • Natasha didn't get the Russian SSS from the Winter Soldier in this timeline because he was off on another assignment and Natasha and Ivan were picked up a lot earlier by her former handlers.
  • Polyamory: Peter will end up in a polyamorous relationship with the many women in love with him.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Defied by Natasha, who gets Peter and Strange to actually stop for a moment and talk about what each of them can do so that they can work together more effectively.
  • Pop-Cultured Badass: Peter will always be up to date with pop culture and be a nerd, though he won't spoil what he knows thanks to time travelling.
  • Power Glows: Peter lampshades this after he sees Death's Glowing Eyes and realizes that she's using telepathy.
'Oh, the glowing eye thing. Man, that's a thought why does every telepath have some kind of tell for when their powers are being used.'
  • Power is Sexy: Elektra feels this way, which is why she felt a bit of lust towards Peter the first time they met.
  • Power Perversion Potential: Peter will be using his powers in the bedroom.
  • Pride: This is part of the reason for why Silver isn't happy about Peter having SHIELD bodyguards when he's out as Spider-Man.
  • Prim and Proper Bun: Tessa always has this hairstyle, but after she gets hired as Peter's secretary she insists on being as professional as possible when on the job.
  • Properly Paranoid:
    • Due to Peter's experience with Miles Warren, he'll be very meticulous about not leaving any of his DNA for anyone to take for their own purposes.
    • Peter and others will talk about countermeasures against Mind Control as they are encountered.
    • In order to avoid losing his body again, Peter has gotten a mind shield from Charles Xavier.
    • After Tessa brings up the possibility of Parker Industries trademarking and copyrighting Spider-Man's name and image and showing Peter how much the public approves of Spider-Man, as well as the handmade Spider-Man merchandise some people have made, Peter immediately remembers that one of his enemies, Fusion, became a supervillain due his son to dying from using a Spider-Man themed product and mistakenly believed he could actually use it to swing like the web-slinger. This causes Peter ask Tessa to do everything possible to make sure Spider-Man products are clearly labelled to inform buyers that they can't use them to imitate what Spider-Man does.
  • Psychic Block Defense: After learning of Peter's future knowledge, Charles placed a mind shield in Peter's mind in order to prevent other telepaths from learning what he knows of the future. This has the side effect of preventing telepaths from "hearing" Peter's voice when they're connected to him. The latter is no longer an issue after Peter gets his powers back, as this subconsciously causes Peter to become better at projecting his thoughts outside his mind shield's area. As such, Charles puts a net in Peter's mind, which will prevent other telepaths from hearing any sensitive information that Peter might think of.
  • Pungeon Master: Peter learns that he got this from his father, who similarly likes to make jokes to lighten the mood.

    R-Y
  • Really Gets Around: Played with. Peter will have numerous lovers. However, he doesn't go for casual sex, as the author notes from Chapter 7 confirms that he's only going to be in a relationship with women for love or the possibility of it.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: Subverted with the first suit Peter makes in the new timeline. It is described as being primarily red and black and takes some inspiration from Otto's suit rather than his traditional red and blue, but he is still a hero.
  • Redheads Are Ravishing: The polycule will have a startling amount of redheads.
  • Reed Richards Is Useless: Averted. Things like a cure for cancer and other wonders will be made. However, some of these wonders will either cause existing companies to lose massive profits or outright destroy industries.
  • Reformed Criminal: After Black Fox and Walter Hardy are hired by Charles Xavier to help the Parkers, the two are hired by Parker Industries. They now utilize their thievery skills in a legal way by doing their best to break into the Baxter Building in order to look for flaws in the company's security system that the company will then improve upon.
  • The Reliable One: Tessa will be liked by a lot of Parker Industries employees because of how many tasks she can do/help out with.
  • Renaissance Man: Peter will eventually end up becoming this.
  • Rescue Romance: Many women will fall for Peter because he saved them from various terrible things.
  • Retired Badass: Richard and Mary retired from the spy life in order to focus on raising a family. However, they still keep themselves in fighting condition and trained Peter so that they would all be ready in case any of their enemies ever came after them.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: Flash posits to Liz the theory that Peter has been putting up an act for him and the rest of the Midtown group to hide some sinister personality traits. Liz says that would require Peter to have been planning that since they were little kids, and both know that Flash is only saying this out of envy. However, Peter actually was sort of hiding who he truly is, only it was out of a desire to socialize with his old classmates again due to having to relive his life from childbirth.
  • Right Through the Wall: To Peter's dismay, one of the first things he hears after getting his powers again is his parents in the shower together.
'I'm building noise-canceling earphones and headphones again. Today. I did not need to hear my parents in the shower.'
  • Romantic Wingman:
    • Death is acting as this for Peter without his knowledge by guiding some events in certain ways so that women will end up interested in him.
      • Her first direct attempt succeeded in getting Umar and Clea into his future polycule.
      • Death succeeds in her second attempt, with Silver joining the polycule after learning Peter's secret.
    • Several other members of the polycule will also help out other women who are interested in joining in.
    • Silver, after joining the polycule, will also wingman for Peter alongside Death.
  • Running Gag:
  • Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: Umar placed so much importance on practical things like studying magic and learning tactics that she only cared to learn the bare bones of things like relationships and sex.
  • Samaritan Syndrome: Peter wants to help as many people as possible, both as Spider-Man and through his inventions because of the fact that he knows about things that could happen and wants to prevent as much of the bad things from happening as possible.
"I just, I want to help people. Especially because I know in advance some things. It doesn't feel right not doing anything when I know what could happen."
    • His parents and uncle note that this can be a bad thing, as this can lead to Peter rushing to help before thinking things through or burning himself out.
    • Peter's lovers will realize that he holds himself to an insane standard.
    • Peter outright states in Chapter 12 that he feels like he can't take time of patrolling to train with Nat and Val because he's the only active superhero at the time.
"I… I can't afford to take some time to train."
The spy shook her head. Deciding to ask him later about her concern, she asked. "Why is that?"
He gestured out toward the city. "Because of them! Who else do they have?" He started pacing, his hands clenching and unclenching. "In the past, by this point in time, there was the Fantastic Four." At seeing her confused face, he explained. "Team lead by Reed Richards, they became the world's first team of superheroes. But that's beside the point. Before I entered the scene, New York had an entire team to look after them."
  • Screw Yourself: The author is iffy on having Jessica Drew of Earth-1610 joining the polycule due to her universe's Peter Parker being her genetic template.
  • Secret Identity: Peter will be keeping one among the X-Men.
  • Secret-Keeper:
    • After Natasha learns of Peter's Spider-Sense, he asks that she not tell SHIELD, as that will most likely result in that knowledge being leaked and lead to people who want him dead to work around that power by going for widespread attacks that will result in massive collateral damage. After hearing his reasoning, Natasha agrees.
    • Peter won't reveal the secrets of those who trusted him from the previous timeline.
  • Seen It All: Downplayed. Peter can still be awed by things, just not as much as others due to his experience.
  • Sex for Services: Some women may do this to get something from Peter, as he is Death's Champion. However, he will only help if they are at least willing to change.
  • Sex God: Peter will be rumored to be this.
  • Sex Magic: Death mentions that, as the center of the Web of Life, Peter has greater use for Tantric Energy than other Totems.
  • Sexy Secretary: Downplayed. Tessa wears a black business suit and a white blouse when working as Peter's personal secretary, but is still nonetheless a Head-Turning Beauty. Both Jean and Emma assume Tessa is doing sexy things with Peter after she's hired.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Both Richard and Peter like to make jokes to lighten the mood and tend to say or do something stupid when caught off guard.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Peter occasionally has panic attacks about the horrible things he's had to go through as Spider-Man, such as his repeated deaths and resurrections at the hands of Kindred and his final battle against the Green Goblins.
  • Shipper on Deck: Both May Parker and Anna Watson hope Peter will get together with MJ.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Sue's POV in Chapter 10 reveals that she's turned down everyone that's ever asked her out due to wanting to wait for Peter to be of legal age for her to date.
    • It's later confirmed that Madelyne Pryor will only be with Peter in this timeline.
    • Peter will be the only man that most of his love interests will ever be with in this timeline.
  • Single Tear: Peter sheds one when having a heart-to-heart with Silver and promising to tell her his Dark Secret.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Peter's sincerity is just one of the reasons for why he is able to earn the affections of many women. He's also kind, helpful, and respectful towards women.
  • Sleeps in the Nude: Death, Umar, and Clea do this the first time they (platonically) sleep with Peter. Every time afterwards, they wear thin bras and panties.
  • Small Steps Hero: Peter tells Nat in Chapter 12 that he can't do something that would theoretically save more people in the future if that means not helping people now.
"That's my hang-up. If I'm training, there's a chance someone will need my help. And if I'm not there, is it right for me to say I was training? That old argument about the needs of the many outweighing the needs of the few comes to mind. I know people like Fury choose the former almost constantly, but me? I– I can't stand the thought of condemning the few for the many. That's what it will be now that the city knows about me. So I can't, in good faith, put off patrolling to train, even if I can potentially save more lives in the future with the growth it'd entail. They all matter to me."
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Numerous characters get to live in this timeline, and only some of them are thanks to Peter's actions.
    • Richard and Mary Parker are able to survive what would've been their last mission thanks to Peter reaching out to Charles Xavier to hire people who could help his parents in completing their mission.
    • Ernst Sablinova and Walter Hardy don't die and are there to raise their respective daughters thanks to being hired by Charles Xavier, and later Parker Industries.
    • Mary Storm doesn't die in a car accident thanks to the circumstances around it happening being different in this timeline.
    • The spider that bit Peter and Cindy survives this time around. Peter decides to keep it as a pet.
    • Ben Parker doesn't die from a home invasion in this timeline.
    • Jean's POV reveals that Annie Richardson didn't die of her injuries from a car accident, though she didn't come out of it unscathed either.
    • Natasha tell Peter that Maria Trovaya, Hank Pym's wife, didn't die in this timeline, so they are Happily Married and raise their daughter together.
  • Spider-Sense: This manifests as fourth wall breaking observations for readers.
  • Spoiled Sweet: Downplayed and justified with Peter. He's rich, but he doesn't really put much focus on that fact aside from using it for charity, crime-fighting, basic needs, and funds for dates with his lovers and eventually his kids. He also makes genuine friends who like him for who he is and not his money.
  • Spotting the Thread: Richard realizes that his son hasn't been entirely honest about what his past life was like after Peter acts relatively nonchalant about the fact that he was shot by a member of Hydra. Richard's subsequent questioning forces Peter to reveal a bit of what he's been hiding from his parents.
  • Stalker Shrine: A downplayed and benign example. Sue keeps a gallery of photos, all of Peter, in her phone. She thinks that it wouldn't be right for her to have physical pictures of him like this in her office unless they were already together.
  • Strong and Skilled: Thanks to his physical abilities and the Way of the Spider, Peter is either stronger or more skillful than most of his opponents.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: Several people note that Peter looks like a younger version of his father.
  • Subordinate Excuse: In Chapter 11, Tessa asks to be hired as Peter's personal secretary, ostensibly because she feels directionless after graduating from Xavier's. However, it's clear to everyone except Peter that she's asking for the job so that she can get closer to him.
  • Sufficiently Advanced Alien: Peter incorrectly tells Nat that Thor is this. It's later explained to be due to his previous atheism.
  • Super-Senses: This fic brings more attention to the fact that Peter's senses are all enhanced after he gets his powers again compared to canon, with particular focus given to his hearing, forcing him to recreate his soundproof earphones after he accidentally hears his parents in the shower together.
  • Surprise Car Crash: In Chapter 5, the Storm family crashes into the car that Ben and Peter are in, resulting in Peter being injured and requiring medical help.
  • Take That!:
    • Charles Xavier decides that his school will be open for both those born with powers and those who got powers in different ways due to seeing what mutantkind is like in Peter's memories.
"What I want is for peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants, but segregation would only stonewall that. Your memory showed mutantkind living isolated on a living island, Krakoa. This nation brought mutants peace free from harm for the most part but took a metaphorical three steps back in the grand scheme by hiding mutantkind again from the world. I abandoned my current goal in your memories. Something I cannot—no, will not see happening this time."
    • Liz tells Flash that just because Peter seems to have a perfect life, it doesn't mean that he's unrelatable.
"Not everyone needs to be a failure at something to be liked! Let alone be poor!"
    • Silver is aghast to see what her counterpart from previous timeline became in the end in Peter's memories.
Silver's eyes widened before narrowing. "...What? So that's it? That's Peter's last memory of me before the multiverse was destroyed? Just… I was…" Broken and beaten, entering a relationship with her Uncle's killer. That was…
      'That's horrible.'
  • Talking the Monster to Death: The first time Spider-Man confronts the Hulk, he tries to talk the Hulk down from fighting and get him to let an unconscious Betty Ross go. It starts to work, but they are interrupted by airmen who, under General Ross' orders, fire nets at the Hulk to try and capture him. Afterwards, Spider-Man is forced to subdue the Hulk and recover Betty with the help of Captain America.
  • Talking through Technique: Silver sees spars as a way for two people to show trust in one another.
  • Tall Poppy Syndrome: Flash is immensely envious of Peter due to how fortunate the latter's life is. However, he also knows that this partially stems from the fact that he knows that if he were as fortunate as Peter, he wouldn't be anywhere near as good of a person.
  • Tangled Family Tree: Peter's polycule will result in this alongside Love Dodecahedron due to it including women who are related to one another (by blood, marriage, and/or adoption).
  • The Tease: Several of Peter's love interests like teasing him when they're alone with him.
    • The first time we see Felicia, she has some fun riling him up after he accidentally thrusts his head backwards into her chest.
"Oof. I didn't know you could be so forward Petey."
    • Death takes a few moments to tease Nat after Dormammu is defeated. She'll actually tease every girl in the polycule/who'll join the polycule once they become aware of her and Peter being together.
    • While Natasha brings Peter to a meeting with Nick Fury about the Hulk, she answers some of his questions before taking the time to press herself onto him while speaking sensually.
Peter stilled for more than one reason. The first was because it just hit him that Natasha had been teasing him, which he guessed started when he pressed for information. The second reason was due to how she was pressing herself up against him. She was practically hugging him without her arms and even placed a leg between his own as she stared directly into his eyes through his lenses.
  • Teen Genius:
  • The Teetotaler: Peter won't drink alcohol if he doesn't have to.
  • Thanks for the Mammary: Averted. When Peter accidently thrusts his head backwards into Felicia's chest, she simply takes the opportunity to tease him.
"Oof. I didn't know you could be so forward Petey."
  • That Man Is Dead: Tessa doesn't use her original name anymore because she considers Xavier giving her a new name and joining the school as her rebirth.
  • There Are No Therapists:
  • This Means War!: Played for Laughs. Silver says this upon learning that Peter has SHIELD agents following him when he's out as Spider-Man due to feeling that she's the only one who gets to follow and guard him.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Surprisingly averted. Peter will be fine with lethal force eventually, but will still be responsible about it.
  • Thrill Seeker: This is the primary reason for Black Fox and Walter Hardy agreeing to work for Parker Industries.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: There are various different kinds of time travel used in the story.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Peter's non-combatant lovers will be trained by their more physical 'sisters'.
  • Troll: Peter admits to himself that his Motor Mouth tendencies are partially due to wanting to see how long it takes to reach people's breaking point with his, as other people call it, annoying voice.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Even as a young child, Peter shows a distinct lack of concern for his own well being compared to worrying about everyone else. This troubles his parents and uncle Ben, who ask him what's wrong. This is justified, as Peter is mentally a young adult who has a Guilt Complex.
  • True Neutral: With the sole exception of the early death of a universe/the multiverse, Death is this when it comes to conflict as she knows that everyone dies eventually. invoked
  • Tuck and Cover: Peter protects Betty Ross this way from a Hydra soldier who wants to kill him and doesn't care about collateral damage.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Peter is able to brush off Flash insulting him as he knows that Flash's a lot better than he could've been, plus the fact that he only interacts with Flash once or twice a week.
  • Unexpected Virgin: While Nat is thinking about her feelings for Peter in Chapter 9, she reveals that she's still a virgin despite training to be, and working as, both a Black Widow and a Femme Fatale Spy.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: This will be discussed among the members of Peter's harem regarding the public's treatment of Peter despite his selflessness.
  • Unknowingly in Love: Downplayed. Natasha knows that she feels something for Peter after going to the movies with him, but also knows that this can simply be infatuation and decides to see where this leads rather than make any assumptions about falling in love with him.
  • Unreliable Narrator: Death tells Peter that some of the things that Thanos and Deadpool claimed about her were just products of their madness.
[about Thanos] "He is, a Mad. Man. He's already started on his path in this time as well. Imagining a young bodied me pushing him to kill."
[about Deadpool] "Your memories show that Wade Wilson was an insane, broken man that was known to hear other voices in his head. While I do not doubt that he tried to tell the truth when possible I don't think he would have a good judge of my character with how he behaved."
  • Victory Through Intimidation: In order to convince the Skrulls that invading Earth is more trouble than it's worth, Fury has fake evidence made in order to make it look like Spider-Man is the leader of an army made up of movie monsters that could defend the planet from alien invasion.
  • Wall Crawl: Trope Codifier Spider-Man can do this after he gets his powers back in the current timeline, but he later realizes in Chapter 12 that he also has the enhanced sticking abilities that are associated with the hosts of the Other.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Emma used to feel that she needed her father's approval. It's implied that her older sister Adrienne still feels that way.
  • Well-Trained, but Inexperienced: This is Silver's opinion of Elektra after their first spar in Chapter 8, something that is later confirmed in the author notes.
  • What Is This Thing You Call "Love"?: Umar doesn't understand how relationships work and is mostly following Death's advice, though this will change as she develops genuine feelings for Peter.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: After Peter purposefully interrupts Silver's Anguished Declaration of Love, Death makes her displeasure known, because he promised her that he would try to make things work with the various women who are in love with him.
"I knew from your memories that you were obtuse sometimes in dealing with your own relationships, but you seem to be forgetting that you promised you would try. Simply telling the woman information that you know would break her heart is not trying. It's self-sabotage."
  • Wife Husbandry: After Peter tells Silver his Dark Secret, he brings up his worries that her feelings for him are due to him unintentionally grooming her. She is insulted and angered that he could possibly think that.
Silver: Do you seriously believe that you groomed me?
    Peter: Err–
Silver: It was rhetorical you idiot. The only reason I haven't slapped you for such an asinine notion is because I can picture you actually believing it. [pinches the bridge of her nose] And you also probably don't even know how much that idea hurts to picture.
Peter: [confused and concerned] Uh, what do you mean?
Silver: Because if that's true you're saying my feelings are fake you fool! If you really did groom me then my relationship with you, even our friendship was all a sham. Every act of kindness, every moment spent with you was a lie. And to even picture that, to even entertain that idea as truth is just… [Peter starts to open his mouth] Save it, despite me being angry with you, I did say that I could see you believing that. You absolute fool of a man. It doesn't change my feelings that you might believe it to be so.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Justified. Peter seems more mature than he should be, but this is because he's an adult mentally.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Hotness: Downplayed. Due to already being fit thanks to regular exercise and martial arts training, Peter just gets a little more muscular after getting bitten, though it is still noticeable.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility: Discussed between Uncle Ben and Peter in Chapter 4 in a way that gives it more nuance.
"Well Peter, I think if someone had the power to help a lot of people but not a lot of time to do it, he shouldn't beat himself up about not reaching everyone. While it's a great responsibility to help people, it's an equal responsibility to help yourself as well. That said, I think that this person should maybe try and take a step back to try and plan out what would be the best way to help everyone as best as they could."
  • Workaholic: May Parker feels that her nephew works too much and that he should relax and spend time with his friends and family more often.
  • Workout Fanservice: Invoked by Silver, who both gives Peter workout clothes that will give her some eye candy to admire and makes sure to stretch in a way that emphasizes her chest when Peter arrives for their spar.
    • Peter lampshades this in his head after seeing Val stretch in her tight SHIELD uniform.
'... Dude what the hell is it with women stretching like that in tight clothing?'
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: After Peter is shot by a Hydra soldier and thrown by the Hulk, he tells Rick that he's wearing body armor under his shirt, so he's only bruised instead of bleeding out, but is still too injured to accompany Rick in getting help from General Ross. Once Rick leaves, Peter is free to put on his Spider-Man costume so that he can confront the Hulk.
  • Wrong Assumption:
    • When Peter learned from Madame Web that he will need to work with the Sorcerer Supreme, he assumed she meant Doctor Strange. He's a little surprised to learn that this isn't the case, and that Strange is still an apprentice to the current Sorcerer Supreme.
    • After hearing Rick Jones' account of what happened at the lab after Hydra attacked it, General Ross assumes that the Parkers are working with both Hydra and the Hulk. Thankfully, he's disabused of this notion after hearing both Peter's and his own daughter Betty's recounting.
    • After seeing Spider-Man in action alongside Captain America against the Hulk, General Ross comes to the conclusion that Spider-Man is a new Super-Soldier and Captain America's replacement/successor.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!:
    • This is Peter's reaction once he learns he was sent all the way back to his own birth.
    • Doctor Strange says this almost word for word after seeing Peter lock lips with Umar and Death.
  • Younger Than They Look: Even at 15 years old, Peter can pass for an adult. Betty Ross will actually be concerned by this when she finds out due to being attracted to him before she realizing that he's a teenager.
  • You Wouldn't Believe Me If I Told You: After Silver asks if Peter's Dark Secret is the fact that he's Spider-Man, he explains that it is something much bigger and says this verbatim.
