Characters / Hololive English -Promise- & -Council-

Go To

For the second wave of Hololive English talents that debuted in 2021, they were split up into two groups. First to debut was VSinger, IRyS, who was the sole member of Hololive - Project: HOPE. A month later, this would be followed up by the debut of a full generation, Hololive -Council-.

While both gens were distinct groups, IRyS would remain closely tied to -Council-, often treated as the unofficial Sixth Ranger, where all of them were collectively referred to as "CouncilRyS".

Following the graduation of -Council- member, Tsukumo Sana, this would leave -Council- short one member. As a result, IRyS would be frequently grouped with -Council- for marketing and events, but remaining separate to them on paper.

This would change in 2023, following the girls' 3D showcases. It was announced that IRyS and the remaining -Council- girls would form a new unit known as Hololive -Promise-. The formation of this new group would supersede the old generation names, with Project: HOPE being effectively shut down. In terms of the in-story lore, -Promise- is the result of IRyS and the Council girls going on a new adventure together as a group. Each member of Promise is also given new updated lore to accommodate the changenote .

As a result of this re-branding, this page will cover information from both -Promise- and -Council-. Information on -Promise- members will be listed at the top half of the page, while information exclusive to -Council- (including Sana), will be on the lower half of the page.

Tropes applying to both -Promise- and -Council-

  • April Fool's Day Episode: April Fools Day of 2022 saw all of Hope and Council switching around their avatars and pretending to be each other. This resulted in Baemei, Krana, Faulz, MURyS, Sauna, and IRnii.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Downplayed. In Gura's 3D Birthday concert, updated Smol models for Council can be seen in the background. However, the designs are still based around the Walfie-inspired Smol Myth models rather than the Sana-designed BeegSmol models they would eventually receive.
  • Foreshadowing: In the Smol Adventures video, Myth finds Council in their Cursed Smol forms in a throne room that is under-construction. Council claims that they're renovating both their base and their bodies with Mumei specifically saying that they're adding a hot tub that fits five people. With the debut of Council and IRyS's BeegSmol models, the renovations are mostly complete, including the throne room and the hot tub. Mumei even makes a Call-Back to the video when she realizes that the hot tub is big enough to include IRyS.
Mumei: I asked for five, but it's actually six people
  • Honorary True Companion: IRyS was initially this, due to being in her own gen of "Project HOPE", but for all intents and purposes was treated as the Sixth Ranger of Council. This is shown when often IRyS will be grouped together with Council in both company wide projects and fan made content. If there is a full Council collab you can make a reasonable bet IRyS will also be there. The idea is fully cemented with the release of the BeegSmol 3d models. Not only is IRyS a part of the collab, but she received her own throne and a statue, which shows her as the embodiment of Hope. She was even with Council during their two year anniversary celebration off-collab. This reached its zenith with the October 8th 2023 3D CouncilRys stream when it was revealed that Project Hope was shutting down and IRyS and Council would combine into a new subunit called Hololive English -Promise-.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Fauna, Mumei, and IRyS all scarcely swear and tend to substitute more family friendly words in place of curses or censor it out with bleeps. While Bae and Kronii have generally become more comfortable with cursing onstream, doing so quite frequently after the first year.
  • Lighter and Softer: The overall lore of the girls became considerably more light-hearted in the transition from Project:Hope and Council to Promise. While their original lore is still considered a part of their characters, the press release for Promise points out that they're no longer constrained by their observer duties, having the freedom to seek the answers to their own "promises". This applies individually as well as the lore in each of their bios has been retooled to be less imposing and more in-line with their on-stream personas.
  • Multinational Team: Much like Myth, the Council girls are scattered across the world. Sana and Bae are confirmed to be from Australia, with the accents to show for it (with Bae later moving to Japan). Kronii outright admits being Canadian (even though her chat figured out mere days after her debut from her preferences and mannerisms) while also revealing she is of Korean ethnicity and is fluent in the language. Mumei and Fauna are known to reside somewhere in the United States, presumably close to Kronii due to the ease of which they can host off-collabs with each other. Meanwhile, IRyS has stated she lives in "Virtual Japan".
  • Pungeon Master: They are all pretty fond of working puns into things, like greetings ("Kroniichiwa"), partings ("Sananara", "Sayofauna"), and even tags ("DrawMEI").
  • Spear Counterpart: holoMinistry, the male counterparts of the girls and their relatives. For more information on them see their folder on this page.
  • Time Abyss: Even more so than Myth. Being Anthropomorphic Personifications of concepts, all of them range from thousands of years old at the very least to being eternal. IRyS is the only one where this is uncertain, given her Vague Age of "as long as hope has been in your heart".
  • True Companions: Even before IRyS was folded into the group, she was very close to the rest of the Council girls who treated her like the honorary Sixth Ranger of Council. IRyS's official inclusion was warmly welcomed by all.
  • World of Buxom: All six girls are incredibly endowed, with it being notable that their group is completely lacking in flat girls. Gura naturally bemoaned the unfairness of this.

    Ceres Fauna

Ceres Fauna [JP: セレス・ファウナ]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fauna_ceres_asagi_tohsaka_art.jpg
"Kon-fauna!"

Debut Date: August 23rd, 2021
Birthday: March 21st
Height: 164 cm
Fanbase Name Saplings
Illustrator: Asagi Tōsaka (Fauna); Misa (Faun); Sana Tsukumo (BeegSmol), SeafoamBoi (BeegSmol 3D VR)
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 4.54 billion years
Affiliation: Bunkeronii (formerly), Watson Industries (formerly?), SNOTcast, Kirin Co.
Occupation (bar idol): Keeper of Nature (Mother Nature), Employee of Watson Industries (formerly?), CEO of Kirin Co.

Rainbow in the sky, little blue birds
Come sing with me, and dance in a circle
Dozing off in the evergreen trees enchanted with love
Taking an afternoon nap, fairies buzzing in the wind
Riding a unicorn high up in a castle tower - this bubble is for you, my prince!

A kirin appointed as the Keeper of Nature. Soft-spoken, gentle and motherly, albeit with a mischievous streak and more than a little possessiveness towards the life born from her domain.

Associated characters: Saplings, Nemu, Faun Ceres (brother, Spear Counterpart), Flora Ceres (Mirror Self)

  • Affectionate Nickname: Sana lovingly calls her "Faufau".
  • Ambiguously Related: Since Civilization broke off from Nature, she briefly wonders if that makes Mumei her daughter before deciding it's probably best not to think about it.
Fauna: She's not really my daughter, I don't think. I don't know, I guess Nature and Civilization, we have a complicated relationship, huh?
  • Animal Lover: She has an affinity for creatures of all kinds.
  • Animal Motifs:
    • Deers. Due to her kirin antlers she has been compared to a deer, which Fauna approves of as she prefers this comparison to being called a tree.
    • Cows. During August 2022, Fauna posted a tweet intentionally to provoke artists to draw her in a cowkini. This blew up so big with Fauna eventually dressing in a cowkini onstream and would remain associated with cows for a long time. Gura would later reinforce this canon by depicting Fauna wearing a cowkini in her anime OP.
    • Elephants. In 2023 for Halloween, Fauna would wear an elephant costume onstream complete with elephant ears, a trunk, and her doing a trumpeting sound, with her being referred to as Elefauna in this state.
  • Aroused by Their Voice: Seems to be the deliberate intention behind her character as an ASMR vtuber with a motherly vibe, with Fauna possessing a soft, soothing motherly voice. This is not limited to just her viewers, with even Calli, IRyS and Bae being flustered when Fauna forced herself to speak with a "Ara ara" voice.
    Calli: ... Holy fuck.
  • Ascended Fangirl:
    • Fauna reveals that before hololive, she was a big fan of Gura, citing Gura as her oshi. Not only would Fauna go on to collab with Gura, but Gura would become one of her closest friends in EN.
    • She admitted to being a fan of Noel in her debut stream, where she would eventually go on to meet Noel in person.
  • ASMR Video: ASMR is one of Fauna's specialties and a niche that she specializes in among EN. She even collaborated with Gura to release "Neko Maid Cafe! Nya~" for Valentine's Day in 2022, where both idols spend a lot of time whispering "nya~" while pretending to clean the listeners ears and serve up candy and drinks.
  • Bad Boss: Played for Laughs. In Video Game/Minecraft, Fauna has a tendency to chop down Saplings that have become full grown trees, citing that as Mother Nature she can understand the Saplings and what they want is the honor of Fauna re-purposing them into something greater. There's also the fact that Saplings actually began as humans who were unwittingly transformed into trees by Fauna's special tea.
  • Badass Pacifist: She has a kind and gentle personality, with a disposition towards violence. Though it doesn't stop her from laying down Gaia's Vengeance, while she is also shown to be a slap master.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Fauna was originally protective of nature and living things, and sent Mumei into a panic after inquiring about how she got the paper for her books. Over time, Fauna would begin to terrorize her domain herself. Sometimes by necessity, like when a rival tribe kept pestering her in Spore; at others accidentally, such as a failed lava prank on Mumei turned into an out-of-control wildfire; and, on rare occasions, on purpose, such as when she resolved to burn down a berry bush for killing Mumei.
  • Berserk Button: She is not a tree or a plant, she is a kirin. Fauna takes big issues with being called as such and may start giving Implied Death Threats in yandere flavor.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Is said to be among the nicest members of the Council next to Mumei, but is capable of bringing the full wrath of nature against any who anger her.
  • Big-Breast Pride: Fauna is rather confident in her size, and came into the introduction of Council feeling pretty good about her "boing-boings". That was all quickly dashed when she saw how much larger Sana and Kronii are.
    Chat: "Medium is Premium"
Fauna: But how am I medium? In what world am I medium? I'm not really medium... at all! Only when you compare me to the rest of Council do I become medium. How can I be medium? How? I know, in a world where Sana and Kronii exist, that's the world where I'm medium.
  • Bitch Slap: Played for laughs, where Fauna would on occasion slap the lights out of her genmates during off-collabs. To date, she has personally slapped every single other member of Council (bar Sana, who graduated before the slapping spree started) and IRyS, and even crowned herself the title of "Slap God". As time went on, this would end up becoming Fauna's Signature Move, where she would even slap her viewers in 3D.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
  • Deadpan Snarker: Not as much of one compared to Kronii and Mumei, but she can have a rather dry sense of humor when the situation calls for it.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: When Mumei gets pricked to death by a berry bush, Fauna asks which bush killed her, presumably to take revenge on it. When Mumei refuses, Fauna then resolves to burn every berry bush as payback instead.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Downplayed in that she's rarely wild with her driving, but she demonstrates in her Euro Truck Simulator stream a chronic inability to handle wide turns well, usually resulting in her jackknifing her trailer (which she often describes as her "Bethany breaking her neck"). She decided to call it a day after one careless bump caused her to do a vertical jackknife, leaving the truck completely and utterly stuck in a faceplant. This moment would even end up being canonized and recreated in her 3D showcase stream.
  • Druid: Her profile states that she is now a druid, fitting her nature priestess theme.
  • Earthy Barefoot Character: She is always barefoot in her default outfit, which kind of makes sense considering her nature theme. She gets shoes in her casual outfit.
  • Emo: Some of her karaoke streams are presented by "Emo Fauna", which is a monochromatic Palette Swap of her model who sings punk rock songs.
  • Evil Counterpart: "anuaF", Fauna's more unhinged counterpart and diametric opposite to her usual self. Where Fauna is loving and pacifistic, anuaF is none of those things and kills for fun. The Saplings typically associate her with the image of Emo Fauna for the purpose of distinction.
  • Flanderization: Early on, she would only hint at her acts of transforming the Saplings (her viewers) into trees, but would still actively deny it when directly asked about it. Later on, she would not only openly admit to it, but goes full on yandere in trying to convince viewers into turning into trees. She would finally reenact it in her 3D showcase, where she feeds her special tea to the viewer and transforms them into a Sapling that she then nurtures.
  • Forced Transformation: Her fanbase are called the Saplings, and turns out they were turned into trees by her where she keeps them in her greenhouse.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Revealed during her 2-year Anniversary stream is the official "M.I.L.F." cap, the acronym of which stands for "Man I Love Fauna".
  • Gaia's Vengeance: As mentioned in her bio and under Beware the Nice Ones, this is the fate that will potentially befall you should you tick her off.
  • Gamer Chick: Despite appearances, Fauna is surprisingly adept at gaming.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Her casual outfit allows her to choose between two different styles of twintails in her hair, along with or without the black ribbons that form them together.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Fauna avoids cursing whenever she can, having a strict aversion to swearing and is generally uncomfortable with doing so. She however once gets around it by substituting words that sound similar to swear words but are simultaneously not.
  • Goth: Fauna outs herself as one growing up, commenting that fanart of her dressed as a Goth was a picture of her from middle school. Later on Fauna would recolor her model to have gothic colors of black and white, while holding a Goth karaoke.
  • Great Big Book of Everything: Her debut info was in the form of a book called "The Field Guide to Fauna".
  • Green Means Natural: Fauna is the living embodiment of nature. The most notable part of her appearance is her green hair.
  • Green Thumb: Comes with being Mother Nature, where Fauna possesses plant based powers such as promoting the growth of plants and having Plant Hair.
  • Hidden Depths: On more than a few occasions, she's casually demonstrated a thorough understanding of quantum physics, from referencing Heisenberg's uncertainty principle as part of a joke on telling the future, to giving a lengthy, in-depth lecture on the purpose, hypotheses, and flaws of string theory.
  • History Repeats: As pointed out by Kiara, Fauna is the second member to debut and had an animated intro narrated by the first member who she has an Abhorrent Admirer dynamic with, just like Kiara's debut intro narrated by Calliope.
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Fauna tends to sing quite offkey during karaokes.
  • Horned Humanoid: Has horns made out of tree branches.
  • I Hate Past Me: She deeply regrets that, during her tween years, she went through an anti-weeb phase and donated her entire manga collection. After getting over it, she could only hope that those that got them enjoyed them.
  • I'm Taking Her Home with Me!: She wants Mumei to stop being the Guardian of Civilization and to stay with her so she can be adored, forever.
  • Insistent Terminology:
    • She's a Kirin, not a tree. Purposefully calling her that and you will be met with Implied Death Threats.
    • Similar to Kiara, her bio deliberately invokes the response by saying that her horns "are NOT deer antlers". Although she later backtracks this and doesn't mind being called a deer given her other disliked comparison to that of a tree.
  • Irony:
    • Despite being the Keeper of Nature, she's rather careless when it comes to environmental damage in the games she plays. Her accidentally burning down a forest while trying to get back at Mumei is a particularly good example.
    • Again despite her Nature Theme when it comes to survival crafting games, like Minecraft or Rust, Fauna tends to be one of the more industrial players, going for big builds and automation, all of which is very resource heavy, so don't be surprised during one of these streams to see Mother Nature going to town on a forest so she can build giant automated farms.
    • Ironic that the Keeper of Nature ends up playing Civilization V before the Guardian of Civilization.
  • Ironic Name: Despite being a Plant Person who is associated with trees and nature, her name is "Fauna" (meaning animals) rather than "Flora" (meaning plants). The name Flora would instead get assigned to Fauna's hypothetical Mirror Self.
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: She had two cats named Clover and Snail.
  • Kirin: She initially took on the form of the Kirin so she could watch over Nature and all its beauty.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: While playing Minecraft with Mumei, she saw her kill a cow and decided to let her Yandere side come out to get back at Mumei for the crime against nature. She was trying to set Mumei on fire with a bucket of lava, but only ended up starting a forest fire with it instead. She even acknowledged that she totally deserved it.
  • The Leader: While not the official leader of Council/Promise (that being Bae), Fauna still often finds herself assuming the role. Being the resident Gamer Chick of her gen, this leads Fauna to often take charge in group gaming collabs, especially Minecraft.
  • Long Neck: Her VRChat model sports a particularly long pencil neck that's seemingly a continuous part of her body. Apparently this was done intentionally by Ame as a Stealth Pun, as Kirin (麒麟) is also a homophone of "giraffe" (キリン) in Japanese.
  • Lyrical Dissonance: Has covered "Welcome to the Black Parade", "Teenagers", "Feel Good Inc." and similar songs in multiple karaoke streams, still in the same light, ethereal voice she normally uses.
  • Mama Bear: She has a nurturing, caring, and motherly personality and desires to protect and care for her fans and fellow VTubers.
  • Mascot: Nemu. A small kirin with similar color schemes to Fauna, but unlike her is not in humanoid form.
  • Meaningful Name: "Fauna" is the Latin word for "Animal Life", and "Ceres" is the Roman name of the Goddess of the Bounty. She is the avatar of Nature, so she too represents bountiful life.
  • Mentor Archetype: During the "Baeruto GOI trials" arc, she adopts the role of Faunashi Cerake, the GOI sensei who mentors Team 7.
  • Mirror Self: Apparently has one named Flora (with her own fanbase called "Seedlings").
  • Mother Nature: She's a maternal Anthropomorphic Personification of Nature or more specifially the "Keeper of Nature", with her role being a guardian of nature and life on Earth. She lives in an enchanted forest where she tends to her Saplings... and [[{Yandere}} she REALLY doesn't like it when her children try to leave]].
  • My Beloved Smother: She is quite unhappy with humanity trying to be independent from her, and wants them to return to her. Mumei even refers to humanity being under her control as being "confinement" in her debut intro.
  • Nature Is Not Nice: Downplayed. While mankind isn't under her care as Nature, her profile states that she is kind and gentle and she has friendly interactions with all her senpai on Twitter, humans included. However, she is said to be absolutely terrifying when angered.
  • Nature Lover: Naturally, as the avatar of Nature, she loves all animals... apart from grasshoppers.
  • Nerds Are Sexy: Her casual outfit comes with a pair of thick-rimmed Nerd Glasses as an accessory option, which gave rise to a slew of "Ackchyually" memes. Despite this, the Saplings generally agree that "Nerd Fauna" is actually pretty cute.
  • Ominous Music Box Tune: Her first loading screen uses calm piano music normally, but shortly after her yandere ASMR segment she pulls out a different intermission screen with darker tones and a creepy music box tune.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Fauna was the "raid leader" for the Council and IRyS's quest to kill Minecraft's Ender Dragon, and she slowly but surely grew more audibly distraught the more her team blundered. A few days after the stream, Bae said she was surprised seeing Fauna that exasperated and felt the need to apologize, although Fauna ultimately didn't mind and thought the stream was a fun experience.
  • Overshadowed by Awesome: Despite her considerable bust, the sheer size of Kronii and Sana are known to make her come across as medium in comparison.
Fauna: In what world am I medium!? [...] Only when you compare me to the rest of Council do I become "medium".
  • Panacea: Her golden apple can cure all ailments, including being killed by Sana removing her limiter and destroying the Earth.
  • Perky Goth: The idea that eventually became Emo Fauna, as she's still very cheerful and snarky despite her gloomy theme. Also played straight with her goth outfit released in late February 2024, which gave Fauna a dark costume similar to Shiori's.
  • Plant Hair: She has green leaf-like hair with flowers blooming in it and branch like antlers. Fauna entertained her hair changing color to match the leaves of each season.
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: She is always barefoot in her default outfit, which kind of makes sense considering her nature theme. However, she gets shoes in her casual outfit.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's 4.54 billion years old, the same age as Earth.
  • Significant Birth Date: March 21st is usually note  the calendar date of the Spring Equinox.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: With Kronii. The two have developed an ongoing feud, with the two of them constantly belittling and arguing in collabs, which is especially prevalent in Minecraft or matters concerning Mumei. Over time, the two would get over their initial hostility and switch to Vitriolic Best Buds who are generally friendly with each other but not above occasional snipes.
  • The Smart Gal: Surprisingly it is Fauna who ended up filling this role for gen. She displays a thorough understanding of many science topics including biology and astrophysics. She is also very skilled as a gamer, being one of (if not the most) savvy Minecraft player out of EN, able to construct extremely advanced farms.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Her Minecraft "Bunkeronii Corp." arc with Kronii involves her assuming this role, demanding, by means of non-violent protest, freedom and fair payment for all the zombie piglins Bad Boss Kronii has enslaved. She also happily agrees with an elephant carrying a "BAN THE USE OF CIRCUS ANIMALS" flag who appears while she's playing Entrance Of The Gladiators in Trombone Champ.
Fauna: (perks up) Ah, true! Nice work, elephant!
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: Fauna's soft voice often clashes with her occasional yandere or even straight up sadistic tendencies. There's a reason why Hitman is one of her favorite video games, after all.
  • Story Branching: Fauna's Casual Outfit Reveal stream played out like an old-school Visual Novel, complete with pixelated graphics and multiple story paths that lead to game overs via The Many Deaths of You. Each path was chosen by the audience via polls, but Fauna herself was trying to hint towards the correct path each time, but wouldn't advance until the correct path was properly voted on.
  • Straw Vegetarian: Defied - while Fauna is a vegan, she doesn't like to bring it up that much as to not be one of those kinds of vegans, and says she's completely fine with whatever anyone else eats.
  • Team Mom: Acts very motherly and caring towards the rest of her gen, especially to Mumei, and sometimes to EN as a whole. In fact, Fauna got voted as "No. 1 Mom of EN" due to her motherly energy.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Tries to live by this creed, aiming to never hurt trees or the wildlife, though the requirements of games like Minecraft obviously force her to make some concessions.
  • Trademark Favorite Drink: Often repeats her fondness for ginger peach green tea.
  • Tranquil Fury: Even when angered, Fauna virtually never raises her voice.
  • Tsundere: Sweet-type towards Sana. While Fauna is generally kind, she tends to show a harsher side towards Sana due to her being an Abhorrent Admirer. The end of the third Council meeting, in particular, really shows it with her asking the chat to go watch and support Sana's upcoming stream, while also calling Sana "disgusting" and using her rarely used angry expression.
Fauna: Go give [Sana] lots of love because she deserves it, even though she's a little bit...disgusting.
  • Verbal Tic: "Uuuuuuuu..." and giggles nearly after every sentence (Especially during her ASMR).
  • Voice Clip Song: Fauna uses Arkhand's "Fauna Sweep" song to keep the chat entertained whenever she needs to go away from the keyboard.
  • World-Healing Wave: Using her golden apple she has the power to revive the whole Earth... usually after Sana accidentally destroys it.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?:
    • She lists grasshoppers as a dislike and states that she is very afraid of the insect.
    • Her fear of cockroaches is much greater, saying that it's her true biggest fear and "an actual phobia" in her Resident Evil 7 stream. She was wearing a heart rate monitor at the time, which showed her heart rate jumping from 96 bpm to 157 bpm at a scene where a cockroach crawls on the player's hand.
  • Yandere: Outside of Fauna's caring motherly side, she also displays this darker side to her towards her viewers and humanity as a whole.
    • During her debut, after the lights suddenly go out when she tried to sing a song to the audience, she notes how her relationship with humanity is "awkward", due to humans originating as part of nature, only to become part of Civilization upon evolving, effectively abandoning their roots and by extension, her. She insists that she isn't mad, and that she loves humans, but expresses how humanity belongs with her, stating her intentions of winning them back. Either patiently with her streams to change their heart, or forcibly restraining them and turning them into saplings.
Fauna: You... You should be with me. You belong with me. And, I'm not going anywhere, until I win you back. I'll be here, streaming, changing your heart, day by day. Until, you finally decide to return to your origins.
    • On another occasion, she mentioned how the audience is lucky to have Mumei to protect them from a certain someone, with her tone implying she is the one Mumei is protecting them from. However, Mumei is just as much a target of her affection as humanity, wanting Mumei to end her guardianship and be with her.
    • While her debut and other streams have shown a bit of her Yandere side, it comes out in full force in the Yandere ASMR she posted on Halloween. She offers a potion to the listener, who is restrained with vines and slowly turns into a sapling, one of many she has locked away in her greenhouse.
    • She also got Reine to teach her how to be yandere in Indonesian. When Reine then tried to teach the words for "help me", Fauna insisted chat didn't need to know that.

hololive -Council-

    Tropes exclusive to -Council-
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/holocouncillogo.png
The Council's logo
  • Aborted Arc: According to Fauna, the Council Civil War Arc (also called the Jokeronii Arc), where Kronii and Fauna would feud over workers' rights and Mumei, has been aborted. This is both due to losing momentum over time as the girls reduced their Minecraft consumption and Kronii went on break, and because Mumei is evidently so happy with Kronii that Fauna doesn't want to take that away from her anymore.
  • Ambiguous Situation: Who or what is the Manipulator? All that is known about them so far is that they are currently active, are either powerful or competent enough (or both) that not even the gods can stop them, and that making sure that the "destined end" that is to be brought upon by them never occurs is Council's priority number one.
  • American Kirby Is Hardcore: They were the first generation across all of Hololive to feature extensive lore as both individuals and a group, and for the most part their character briefs tended to paint a rather bleak picture.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification:
    • Sana Tsukumo - Space
    • Fauna Ceres - Nature
    • Kronii Ouro - Time
    • Mumei Nanashi - Civilization note
    • Baelz Hakos - Chaos
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Their moral compass in regular skits can be a bit skewed, while they insist that they're trying to protect humanity.
  • Color-Coded Characters: According to the second PV, Sana is orange, Fauna is green, Kronii is blue, Mumei is white, and Baelz is red.
  • Informed Attribute: Their lore initially set up Fauna and Mumei as rivals, as well as Kronii and Sana. In reality, it soon became clear that Fauna actually adores Mumei and would also go on to establish herself as Kronii's primary Sitcom Archnemesis. Slightly downplayed; it is made clear that, while she adores Mumei, Fauna still dislikes civilization, and really wishes Mumei would give up her role as its guardian.
  • In the Hood: The September 2023 accessory update gave all Council members hooded cloaks that are themed after their respective Animal Motifs (or a national equivalent in the case of Bae's Tasmanian devil hoodie), with the exception of Mumei's, which has a polar bear pattern.
  • Literal Split Personality: Implied in a freeze-frame in the second trailer where all their avatars are overlapping before they are split into five. Discussed in the group's first collab where they ponder what would happen if all five would return to that form.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: The first Council meeting suggests that a couple of aspects of their lore-heavy introductory videos were much less epic than the videos made them out to be:
    • The images and descriptions of each of the Council members in the debut PV are just their passport photos.
    • Sana refusing to let Kronii have time to herself is what led to the war between Space and Time in the Omen video.
  • Name Order Confusion: They tend to cause this, as three out of five members (Sana, Kronii, and Baelz) prefer to address themselves by the Western naming convention (i.e. given name first, family name second).
  • Not So Above It All: Despite the imposing lore and the often-terrifying official descriptions of them, all five members wasted no time in cracking jokes, making memes, and flirting with each other on Twitter.
  • Not-So-Omniscient Council of Bickering: The Council of World Administration is full of five chilidish girls who bicker and squabble over the silliest of things. The first official Council Meeting made it clear that the "serious matters" are as much about mocking the PV trailers as about making fun of each other. They all agreed that they're quite dysfunctional for a council. Each consecutive Meeting proves to be just as crazy for one reason or another.
  • Physical God: All five of them come very close to being this, being the Anthropomorphic Personifications of founding physical and metaphysical concepts such as Space and Time. Mumei is the odd one out because her sphere of influence was established by humans instead of the Gods, but she is regarded in the same light as her peers.
  • Red Baron: Each of them besides Baelz were given very distinct titles that they can use like names:
    • Sana - The Speaker of Space
    • Fauna - The Keeper of Nature
    • Kronii - The Warden of Time
    • Mumei - The Guardian of Civilization
    • Baelz - The very concept of Chaos
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Kronii, Fauna and Hakos Baelz are all in one way or another named after divine beings from Classical Mythology. In a twist, Mumei isn't named after it per se, but still continues the theming in terms of design aesthetic, with her domains of knowledge, wisdom, owls, and civilization invoking Athena. Sana remains the odd one out, although one could make the case that her association with space relates to the Roman practice of naming planets after their gods (not to mention her "Jupiters").
  • Similar Squad:
    • The members of Council parallel the members of Myth thematically:
      • Sana and Ina'nis are both incredibly talented artists who represent the Ancient Ones.
      • Fauna and Calliope both include life as part of their themes.
      • Kronii and Amelia both have time as part of their backgrounds. However, Kronii is officially introduced as a Time Warden while Amelia attached the Time Travel backstory after her debut. In addition, both are EN's top Minecraft players, setting up the majority of the EN server's farms and owning the two main construction companies.
      • Mumei and Kiara both have bird Animal Motifs. Mumei, however, is a bird-themed Anthropomorphic Personification of a concept while Kiara is an actual mythical bird.
      • Bae and Gura, at first similarities weren't very apparent aside from being the shortest members who are a Little Bit Beastly with jagged teeth. However more similarities later emerged, with both of them having a love for pranking the other girls. Both are prominent singers of their generations. Furthermore, both are treated as The Baby of the Bunch by their fellow talents and doted on like little sisters/daughters.
    • Council also parallels Myth in terms of personality, which are a bit different, aside from Ina and Sana who match in that area too.
      • Fauna and Ame both have reputations as the gamers of their gen, especially in Minecraft where they both created impressive farms and founded separate companies (Watson Industries and Kirin Co.). Both are also considered The Smart Girl, but are among the weaker singers. Both are also candidates for being Team Mom for EN, with Fauna voted the No. 1 "Mom of EN", while Ame guides and looks after the EN girls during VR collabs.
      • Kronii and Calliope are both considered the stoic 'cool girls' of their generation who dislike being called cute like the rest of their gen mates. Both have the deepest voices and edgiest designs in Kayfabe, but actually shown as very caring and dorky underneath.
      • Mumei and Gura have often been compared. The two are frequently cited as having very similar voices (with Mumei able to accidentally sound exactly like Gura at times), and both presenting as a bit ditzy, while initially coming off as The Cutie before later moving to Beware the Nice Ones by showcasing a less innocent side underneath. Also, Mumei's background music and stream backdrop are remarkably similar to Gura's original BGM and background. Additionally, both have a connection to Ancient Greece (Gura being from Atlantis and revealing her native tongue is Ancient Greek, Mumei being partially based on Athena), and both have an Animal Motif based on a predator.
      • Bae and Kiara. Both are multilingual and the most fluent in Japanese out of their gens, allowing them to be translators for Hololive JP. Both are also considered the most skilled dancers out of EN, with both displaying impressive choreography in 3D showcases and music videos. Both also live in a country outside North America, leading to a lot of Culture Clash with the other girls. In addition, both are quite loud and energetic, while also having a fiery motif.
  • Too Many Cooks Spoil the Soup: Certain large group collabs like Pico Park show that while one or two can muster considerable brainpower, much more tends to result in hilarious incompetence.
  • True Companions: Ever since their official debut, it has been noted many times by fans and their fellow idols that Council (and IRyS) are extremely close and have incredible chemistry, such that they almost always appear alongside each other regardless of their occasional bickering. Such is the power of their bond that they continue to hangout with, and lovingly refer to Sana as part of their generation long after her departure.

Infinity sounds good to me
As long as you are by my side
The Milky Way's not far away
When love travels faster than the speed of light
Let's go, I know we'll make it 'cos somehow
The Universe is fun now

The Speaker of Space who accidentally became an apostle of the Ancient Ones. She's an excitable goofball, a talented artist, a profound astronomy nerd, and as a whole a bubbly ray of sunshine.

On July 11, 2022, Sana announced her graduation from Hololive, which took place on July 31st note . This marks her as the first Council member and the first Hololive English member to graduate.

Associated characters: Neighbula, San Tsukumo ("brother", Spear Counterpart)

  • The Ace: Sana is, rather randomly, a beast at competitive Pokemon and has been for many, many years. A perennial hobby of hers is to challenge people to a match only to then squash them flat with minimal effort. Such was her massive winning streak that Sana couldn't even remember who or how many people she had beaten that way, with Ina being one of her unfortunate opponents.
  • Abhorrent Admirer:
    • Seems to have a thing for Fauna, which is not appreciated. Unfortunately for Fauna, her harsh remarks only seem to further attract Sana.
Fauna: Go give her lots of love because she deserves it, even though she's a little bit...disgusting.
Bae: That's the best gift you could've gotten, Sana! How do you feel?
      Sana: I'm pumped! I'm pumped!
    • She also flirts with Bae, though unlike Fauna, she seems to find the attempt more hilarious than annoying.
    • Attempts to flirt with Kronii go just as poorly. In fact, Kronii suggests that the war between Space and Time depicted in the Omen PV is simply Kronii trying to get some personal time to herself and Sana refusing to give her space.
    • She also flirts with Mumei on two separate occasions, though Mumei appears to be oblivious.
  • Astrologer: Early in her debut, Sana declared her desire to do regular astrology streams, bringing her into this trope.
  • Been There, Shaped History: Claims her tears once turned into the very meteors that impacted Earth 65 million years ago and wiped out the dinosaurs.
  • Big-Breast Pride: Has referred to her very sizable bust as "[her] Jupiters" during a conversation with Iofi on Twitter. Considering she chose to name them after the largest planet in the Earth's solar system, it's safe to say this trope is in full effect. During her debut, she revealed that because she's larger than Sol itself, her breasts are each literally the size of Jupiter.
Twitter Bio as of August 18, 2021: sana is bIG!!!!
  • Big Eater: Sana's love for pasta, macarons, and her fondness for round things like baby seals and planet Earth hint at her insatiable appetite.
  • Big Good: Sana's role as a guiding figure and mentor within hololive English -Council- positions her as a force for good. She provides support, guidance, and positivity to her genmates and the hololive community.
  • Big Little Sister: According to San, he and Sana are like siblings, but she's actually the younger one.
  • Born Lucky: At least when it comes to Pokemon catch rates. In her first eight hour stream alone, there were only had a handful of times where she needed to try to catch a Pokemon more than once.
  • But for Me, It Was Tuesday: She honestly can't remember any specific Pokemon matches she's had because she's destroyed so many people that it's all blurred together. This is with Ina bringing up the crushing defeat she was given from when they first met.
Sana: No, I don't remember. How could I remember the dirt underneath my feet? There were so many of you.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Sana's a little... off-beat. Like, for example, her Horse Birthing stream (drawing a horse made from chat suggestions), which was so odd it made Ollie stop using caps lock. Being the literal eternal concept of space, the Smol Adventures: Link Your Wish short implies that her thoughts are far too encompassing beyond mortal comprehension for her to personally pay close attention to what she's doing.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: As a member of hololive English -Council-, Sana's grounded and down-to-earth personality contrasts with her fellow council members' eccentricities, making her the rational and level-headed member of the group.
  • Colony Drop: Sana refers to her streams as her "landing" which, when taking her size relative to our planet into consideration, is more of her crashing explosively into Earth than her touching ground, with Also sprach Zarathustra in the background for dramatic effect. Naturally, this presents ample opportunities for Earth-Shattering Kaboom memes.
  • Competition Freak: Competitive Pokemon is her jam and she has a fighting (and winning) streak that goes back to at least the Nintendo DS days.
  • Childhood Friends: With Ina in real life, apparently. Based on their interactions on-stream, Sana and Ina seem to go way back, even before Hololive, with them casually mentioning games that they used to play together when they were little, and how the former delivered a Curb-Stomp Battle to the latter in Pokemon when they first met, the details of which have escaped the space priestess due to her massive winning streak that everything became blurry. On a Super Bunny Man stream, some hints were dropped that it's been at least a decade since they last met in person, indicating that they've been knowing each other for a lot longer than that.
  • Contemplate Our Navels: Sana's debut started off with some long-winded philosophical National Geographic-esque rambling about the meaning of space, life, and existence, but it started going so off the rails from one topic to another that even she had to put a stop to it.
  • Continuity Nod: She's an apostle of the Ancient Ones, making her associated with Ina by extension.
  • Cool Big Sis: Sana's nurturing and supportive nature, coupled with her role as a mentor and guiding figure, positions her as a sisterly figure. She provides guidance, comfort, and a sense of security to those around her.
  • Cosmic Motifs: Sana is associated with space itself, and commonly with Jupiter.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Sana's playful and carefree demeanor can sometimes mask her immense power and strength. When she unleashes her true abilities, she becomes a formidable force to be reckoned with.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: She became friends with Ina after one-shotting the tako priestess' whole team in Pokemon when they first met. While it was a somewhat impactful event for Ina, Sana didn't seem to remember much due to how many other people she had done that to that everything sort of blurred together.
  • Desecrating the Dead: Spends a good portion of her I Am Bread stream eagerly knocking over what she perceives as urns, note  doing so multiple times.
  • Determinator: She never gives up and continuously strives to overcome obstacles and achieve her goals.
  • Did Not Think This Through: As part of her graduation stream, she bestows her limiter to her chat as her parting gift. She says this trope almost word-for-word when she realizes she left the limiter to drift randomly onto Earth, hoping that it eventually lands somewhere safe.
  • The Ditz: Although Sana is curious and enthusiastic, she can be careless and has a tendency to exaggerate.
  • Double Entendre: Her channel's Tier 3 membership (Sun Toasted Smores) description is inexplicably a Uranus innuendo.
Sana: Did you know you can fit 63 Earths into Uranus? 64 if you relax!
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Sana's existence was hinted at by Ina on a Tako Time talk stream in 2020 when she mentioned her "Australian friend" who needed to buy thongsnote , of all things.
  • Fangirl: For Pokemon. From November 21st (when the talents first got permission to stream it) to the 26th, Sana streamed 36 hours of Shining Pearl. Then, the following week, despite beating the main story, she continued streaming for several hours every other day.
  • Foil: To Ninomae Ina'nis. Both are incredibly talented artists who are associated with the Ancient Ones. Both also designed the artwork shown at the end of their debut PVs (with Sana's even being sold as merchandise the day of her debut). However, Ina is flat-chested and aquatic-themed while Sana is the most well-endowed in her generation and space-themed. In addition, while Ina's surname means "before two" (ie. one), Sana's surname means "ninety-nine".
  • Freak Out: Sana had one after finding a Shiny Rayquaza. She screamed so loud and so long that she lost her breath, had to leave the stream to get a drink of water, and even had trouble getting her wind back to the point that she was in danger of passing out. It took Ina (who was on-stream) telling Sana to take deep breaths for Sana to finally calm down.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Sana's proficiency in graphic design and her ability to create various digital assets, such as emotes and overlays, demonstrate her technological skills and creativity.
  • Gag Penis: Her Spear Counterpart San and his "rocket". While he's only seen above the waist (he has a full-body model, mind) and looks like a small boy compared to his Distaff Counterpart, it's strongly implied that most of Sana's extra height went into something else instead.
San: Wait until you see my "rocket"[...]If you call me "small", I'll prove you wrong. I'll smash Uranus.
  • The Gadfly: Despite her sweet and cuddly demeanor, she has displayed the ability to intentionally get under other talents' skins seemingly for no other reason than she knew it would be funny. First showcased during her first collab with Ina, gently teasing her senpai over coffee preferences and the latter's cup size. The entirety of her appearance in Calli's Eikaiwa Class with Miko and Roboco consists of her fucking around with Calli, much to the reaper's bemused annoyance.
Calli: [showing a picture of a beach ball in water] What's this? Do you know this?
    Sana: Yes! I know this.
    Calli: What is this?
    Sana: This.. Is.. a spider.
Calli: NO, IT'S NOT A SPIDER!
    Roboco: Spider!?
    Calli: Goddamnit, Sana...
Sana: There's definitely a spider behind it.
  • Genius Loci: Her hair contains entire planets, each of which are occupied by their own sapient races that war with each other.
  • Genki Girl: Sana is very cheerful and enthusiastic, both on stream and on Twitter. She approaches everything with excitement and zest.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite her massive size and power, Sana is depicted as kind and caring, always doting on her fellow hololive members and genmates.
  • Giant Woman: Exaggerated. When she doesn't have her limiter on, Sana is the size of Sol, and Jupiter is about as big as one of her breasts. She mentions in her I Am Bread stream that she had to conquer 50,000 water planets just to take one bath in her true size. Her Spear Counterpart is the polar opposite, being the height of a rather small boy instead.
  • Glowing Eyes: A unique feature of her L2D model is that her golden eyes can light up and add a star to her pupils when excited.
  • Got Me Doing It: Sana lamented how she was slowly brainwashed by the chat to reference Among Us memes, despite her voicing her distaste for those during her earlier days.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: Occasionally, Sana will start inserting Japanese expressions into her sentences, such as exclaiming "yabe!" when goofing up, or "douzo" when it's someone else's turn to speak. She does this even when talking to her fellow English-speaking members like Kronii.
  • Harem Seeker: Even before her debut, Sana was already well-known for flirting with every single other member of her Generation, albeit to varying degrees of success. Her interactions with the members in other branches suggest that she's attempting to expand her prospective range as well.
  • Head Pet: She has some little crab and sea bunny creatures living on the planets that make up her twintails. She says she's not sure what they actually are, but they've already conquered their planets and plan on launching a massive invasion against the other.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • Despite her lighthearted and sometimes childish attitude, Sana demonstrates maturity and groundedness. She recognizes the importance of transparency and acknowledges the challenges she faces.
    • While she mentions drawing as one of her hobbies, the fact that she did the promotional artwork for her generation is a testament to her capabilities as an artist.
    • She is also mentioned by Kiara as not having any nerves before the debut, implying professionalism and possibly experience beforehand underneath her carefree exterior.
    • She's also quite the competent gamer, with her first game stream seeing her tackle the notoriously-tough Celeste with relative ease for a newcomer.
    • She showed a surprisingly vast knowledge of physics during the Interstellar watchalong with Kronii, as she started talking about various concepts such as the string theory and space-time relativity after the credits had rolled with such enthusiasm that Kronii was left awestruck.
    • Despite her soft-spoken nature, Sana used to sing in a metal band "a long time ago", something she's come to feel great embarrassment of.
  • I Kiss Your Foot: Sana seems to have a real thing for Fauna's feet. She even quoted the trope (almost) verbatim at one point. This quickly made its way to pako, who tweeted in response with artwork of Sana leaning down to kiss Fauna's foot while giving blessings to follow the path she believes in.
  • Immortal Immaturity: She is billions of years old, but insists she is a space-baby and mentally only 3 years old.
  • The Klutz: Sana's tendency to be careless and accidentally destroy the Earth multiple times demonstrates her klutzy nature.
  • Land Down Under: She speaks with a very thick Aussie accent and is of the outdoorsy type, with hiking, snorkeling, and camping being listed as some of her hobbies. On the less physical side of things, Sana enjoys Mind Screwy, existential crisis-inducing games that most other Hololive talents tend to either hate or stay away from.
Sana: [about brioche] "Looks expensive"? No no, just get it from Macca's- uh, McDonald's, I mean.
  • Literal Metaphor: She refers to her breasts as her "Jupiters", then reveals that at her true size, they literally are the size of the planet Jupiter.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: She occasionally makes dirty jokes and innuendos and has an open-minded and playful attitude toward sexuality, approaching the topic with humor and light-heartedness.
  • Meaningful Name: Sana, the avatar of Space, has as her name an anagram of NASA, the first space exploration program with the syllables reversed (and in Japanese it's a straight reversal). Likely as a nod to this, Sana apparently follows NASA's official Twitter account.
  • Mike Nelson, Destroyer of Worlds:
    • After removing her limiter, Sana destroyed Earth in her debut. This was not long after she made a goal to not destroy the Earth in one full calendar year starting right then. She then destroyed Earth again by removing her power limiter at the start of Fauna's debut.
    • Her first Universe Sandbox stream has her re-arrange the Sol system in her pursuit of making a banana-filled galaxy, and she predictably commits cosmic crimes such as plunging the Earth into an Ice Age with an abysmal 2.76% life likelihood and creating a supernova by colliding the Spica pair.
    • On November 10th, 2021, Sana returns after taking a month-long break. However, when attempting to land on Earth, she forgot to put on her limiter. As one may guess, she destroyed the planet again, and had to ask the rest of Council to fix it. As this sequence was played on both her unarchived karaoke and official return stream, this means she effectively blew up the Earth twice in a single day.
  • Mosquito Miscreants: She hates them with a passion. The mosquito coil-looking Power Limiter on her head is meant to be used as one in addition to its actual function.
Sana: After all, mosquitoes are a mistake of the universe!
  • Muggle Foster Parents: Played with. The family she's living with were hypnotized by Yatagarasu into believing she's their actual daughter.
  • Mundane Utility: Sana's size limiter/mosquito coil can also apparently heat up like the eye of a stove, allowing Sana to use it to make toast.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Much like Ina and Bae, Sana is a dedicated fan of coffee. Unlike Ina, Sana prefers to have her caffeine hit in the form of microfoam espresso drinks like a latte or a flat white. Apparently this has lead to long-standing disagreements.
  • The Nicknamer: Sana calls her genmates by Affectionate Nicknames, "Faufau" for Fauna, "Kronini" for Kronii, "Meimei" for Mumei, while keeping "Bae" for Baelz that had already been her official designation.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Of the HoloMinistry members, San is the only one who is illustrated by the talent's original artist, which makes his status as the Token Mini-Moe even more apparent.
  • No, You: Used in a non-insulting way when Fauna calls her cute.
    Fauna: You look cute.
    Sana: No, you.
  • Plucky Girl: She faces adversity with optimism and resilience, inspiring others to do the same.
  • The Pollyanna: She maintains a positive outlook, even in challenging situations.
  • Power Incontinence: Her sneezes are powerful enough to cause all of Earth's volcanoes to erupt at the same time. Sana herself has no control over this, regardless of her Power Limiter being on or not, and as such sneezing is listed as one of her dislikes.
  • Power Limiter: Sana's full size is larger than Sol. She has a mosquito coil on her head that allows her to shrink down to human size. It also just happens to function as an actual mosquito coil.
  • Precision F-Strike: In the unarchived karaoke stream on November 10th, 2021, after her return from a mental health break, she calls out certain viewers with one of these.
Sana: To people who said I shouldn't have been on break, fuck you!
  • Prefers Going Barefoot: Sana's full render in promotional materials shows that she's barefooted. She clarified in her debut that she refuses to wear shoes until such time that mankind develops functioning rocket shoes. However, this is averted with her Distaff Counterpart, San, who actually does wear shoes.
  • Punctuated! For! Emphasis!: How she usually delivers her greeting, typically with a lot of reverb. A variant of it was also spoken when Sana returned from her break in late 2021.
    Sana: Sana! Is! BEEG!

    Sana: Sana! Is! Back!
  • Pungeon Master: Like Ina, Sana also seems incapable of going five seconds without making a pun, though hers are usually limited to giving Punny Names to objects and people, and aren't nearly as groan-inducing. Most of Sana's puns are usually space, bread, or banana-themed.
  • Put on a Bus: She had a lengthy break from mid-February 2022 due to a back injury, and recovered well enough by March 9 to do a short stream to reassure her fans.
  • Reality Warper: She can bend the rules of physics and create fantastical scenarios with her immense power.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's 13.8 billion years old, as old as the known universe itself, making her the oldest member with a definite age.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The upbeat and carefree Red to Kronii's Blue in the Space-Time duo.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: She represents her Sanallite fanbase as adorable little critters that can be best summed up as "dog-like aliens that are shaped like loaves of bread".
  • Significant Anagram: Her given name is an anagram of NASA. Yes, that NASA, as a reference to her space theme and passion for astrology.
  • Shout-Out: One of her channel logos is a parody of the NASA "meatball".
  • Space Is an Ocean: Sana's connection to space and her representation of the universe itself can be seen through this trope. Her language often includes nautical terms, treating space as if it were an ocean.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Like Kiara, Sana can speak and understand the bird language, which lets her converse with Yatagarasu.
  • Sweet Tooth: Claims to have this, with macarons being her favorite.
  • Star Scraper: Sana's defining contribution to the EN Minecraft server is her planetarium project, which involves building a spiraling staircase around a tower that scales up to the maximum Z-axis, so high into the air that the game's draw distance can't even register the top. If you climb high enough, you find snow forming on the steps, and the ground disappears.
  • Strange Minds Think Alike: She and Ina usually share the same brain cell in regards to making Incredibly Lame Puns, with the two of them usually reacting with approval when the other makes such jokes instead of groaning in frustration like the other members and their chat tend to do.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She is quite good-looking, buxom, and is the tallest member of EN, and the third tallest in all of Hololive after Reine and Kaela (fourth if you count Coco). Though in her true form, she is the tallest member of any branch by far, as she's the size of the Sun. Though at that point, "Statuesque" is a bit of an understatement.
  • Team Mom: She has a nurturing and caring nature and tends to look after her fellow hololive members, often taking on the role of a maternal figure within the group.
  • That One Player: Ina refers to Sana as the "Pokémon walking encyclopedia", and it shows, as the Tako priestess occasionally asks the locations of specific critters to fill her Pokédex, and Sana very accurately pinpoints them. Not only that, but Sana also happens to be leagues above everyone when it comes to competitive Pokémon battles, having stomped so many players that she doesn't even remember one-shotting Ina's team when they were little until the latter retells the details of their first interactions to the audience. There's a reason Sana is confident enough to declare she'll fill the entire Pokédex in Shining Pearl and has no problem doing very long streams of it.
Ina: ... Doesn't even remember she beat me up so bad...
Sana: I don't know, it's happened to so many people, it's all a blur.
Ina: Un-Unbelievable. I'm just there like a— it was my second/third Pokémon series I ever played, and I'm just like "Oh man, I became the Pokémon champion!", and this girl just comes walking in...
Sana: I just wanted to challenge a lot of people to battles and then I realized that everyone's so weak.
    Ina: Well, I'm sorry. [Laughs]
  • These Are Things Man Was Not Meant to Know: She came across the Forbidden Truth and became one of the Ancient Ones' disciples as a result.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: The fans have associated Sana with bread thanks to her first Holoscopes being all about what kind of bread fits each horoscope the most, with Sana embracing the joke in various ways.
  • Unishment: She really gets off on being called disgusting and other such adjectives by Fauna for being an Abhorrent Admirer, to the point that the latter has to make a conscious attempt at not giving into what she wants.
  • Uranus Is Showing: Not above sneaking in that particular planet's puns when she can get away with it.
    • Her Tier 3 subscription description was a combo of this and a factoid: "Did you know you can fit 63 Earths into Uranus? 64 if you relax!"
    • Her graduation concert has a close up of her playing a guitar named "Uranus Smasher".
  • Unfazed Everyman: Sana is able to remain calm and composed in chaotic situations and provides a relatable and grounded perspective amidst extraordinary circumstances.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Ina. They share in their first official collab that they've known each other for a long time, repeatedly debating about their coffee preferences among other things. Takodachis have noted that that was the most spirited and pugnacious they've ever seen Ina, who is usually more sedate when with others.
  • Writers Cannot Do Math: Most descriptions Sana gives of her full size place her as being about as tall as the Sun's radius, or about 695.7 kilometers. Her official description lists her full height as being about 169.8 billion centimeters, or 1,698 kilometers, which would actually be more than twice the Sun's size.note
  • You Cannot Grasp the True Form: Yatagarasu is a three-legged crow Sun god, but appears as a cartoonish squiggly worm else human brains are liable to melt. Sana's drawing of their true form appears the same way.
