  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: In the order they were introduced in the official post on the Hololive subreddit and subsequently debuted:
    • Shiori was imprisoned because she found knowledge the gods didn't want known.
    • Bijou was imprisoned because her luster caused many to fight over her.
    • Nerissa was imprisoned because her singing had the power to drive people insane.
    • Fuwawa and Mococo were imprisoned for "being a pain in the godly behind".
  • Breaking Old Trends: Like previous generations of Hololive EN, Advent debuted with 5 members. However, Advent is the first generation of the EN branch (or any branch for that matter) to have a channel shared by two members simultaneously (in this case the twin sisters, FUWAMOCO) bringing the total channel number down by one.
  • Boxed Crook: The reason they now work for hololive: Shiori crashed their getaway car into the Cover offices and YAGOO made them stream for him to pay it back.
  • Divine Punishment: Each member of Advent was imprisoned in The Cell by "the gods", the same mysterious beings who created Council.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Advent were teased at the end of HoloEN's first concert "Connect the World" with shots of the Cell, their logo, and the message "see you on the other side", which many fans and other Hololive members correctly predicted were hints of a new English generation.
  • Extranormal Prison: The Cell from which the members of Advent, all of whom are far from your typical prisoners, escaped. In fact, the official page notes that The Cell contains "anything" deemed dangerous, meaning that it's not just people who are imprisoned.
  • Fan Community Nicknames: While the individual members have their specific names for their fan communities, when they're all together, they collectively refer to their combined fandoms as "Adventrix."
  • Great Escape: They pulled one shortly before their debut, where they all escaped from their confinement in the Cell.
  • Might as Well Not Be in Prison at All: Several members point out that as foreboding and restrictive as The Cell looked, life in it wasn't that bad. They got to play games, catch up on pop culture, and even had a good relationship with some of the guards with the narration for FuwaMoco's lore even questioning if life in The Cell could even be considered a punishment. The only real issues were the reasoning behind their imprisonment in the first place and the lack of freedom, which were enough for them to want to leave The Cell. Justified in that The Cell is less of an actual prison and more of an SCP-esque containment facility, so it makes sense that they would make sure that those within it wouldn't mind or would even prefer staying.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: More so than all previous EN gens, with them all being escaped prisoners being their only commonality. This gen consists of a Badass Bookworm goth girl, an Anthropomorphic Personification turned crystalline humanoid, a singing demon, and twin demon dog girls.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: None of them were imprisoned over any actual crimes committed. In fact, The Cell was created less as a punishment for criminals and more as a place to keep anything dangerous from being out in the public. Bijou and Nerissa, in particular, are imprisoned for the potential harm they can cause rather than anything they did of their own will.
    All: Advent did nothing wrong!
  • Walking Techbane: While Advent's debut streams had less issues than those of their senpais in Myth and Council, a handful still came up — most notably in FuwaMoco's stream — proving that the EN curse is still alive and well.

    Shiori Novella

Shiori Novella [JP: シオリ・ノヴェラ]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_4266.jpeg
"Shiori~n!"

Debut Date: July 29th, 2023
Birthday: May 2
Height: 163 cm
Fanbase name: Novelitesnote
Illustrator: かやはら (Kayahara)
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: "Eye-Don't-Know"
Affiliation: Kirin Co.
Species: Human(?)
Occupation (bar idol): Archiver, Employee of Kirin co.
The Aloof Archiver who was sent to the prison after looking into forbidden knowledge that bleached the right side of her hair. She orchestrated the Great Escape, and even had a getaway car... only to crash into the Hololive building. For this reason, she's now a streamer and idol under hololive to pay that debt.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Dubbed "Shiorin" by Ina, a nickname that quickly caught on with other holomems.
  • Ambiguously Human: Whenever the question of whether or not she is human is brought up, Shiori will say she doesn't know what she is. Eventually, she clarified that she was human at one point, but after the event that transformed her into her current state, she is unsure if humanity still applies to her.
    Nerissa: Aren't you a human?
    Shiori: I don't know what I am.
  • Animal Motifs:
    • Not as prominent as Nerissa's raven motif, but she has some subtle cat theming going on. Her two-toned hair, striking yellow eyes, and Cute Little Fangs are somewhat evocative of a cat, her mascots are black cats in snazzy suits and capes, and one of her favorite pastimes is feeding stray cats.
    • Cows, due to Fuwamoco mistaking her for a cow during a Minecraft collab due to Shiori's similar black and white color scheme. The joke would be kept alive by both Fuwamoco and Shiori, with Shiori eventually officially dubbing her cow form as "Cowvella".
  • Ascended Fangirl: Is a longtime VTuber fan and her archives include records of VTubers from before Hololive, including some she would call her oshis.
  • Badass Bookworm: She's a literature fanatic who managed to escape from an Extranormal Prison and is more than willing to use her beloved books as weapons, if the BREACH trailer is anything to go by.
  • Black Comedy Pet Death: In Nerissa's debut stream, a note from Shiori indicates she'd want to eat Shadow, the pet raven on her shoulder.
  • Brotherhood of Funny Hats: Among the odder stories about Shiori's youth is that she was briefly associated with a Masonic "social club"note . She only put up with them for about a year before leaving as she felt socially unfulfilled, and the club featured bizarre hazing rituals by kids and adults that included being forced to kiss a vending machine and making newcomers roll around in half-eaten food waste.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Shiori demonstrates a vast amount of knowledge as the Archivist of Advent, hosting plenty of educational streams on topics ranging from anatomy, chemistry, parasite microscopy, literature, VTuber history, and more, as well as featuring plenty of skills including piano, photography, and game programming. She also happens to be easily-distracted and habitually goes on extended tangents over whatever other topics occupy her mind in the moment — whenever she gets into a personal anecdote related to a topic she's passionate about, expect things to get weird very fast.
  • By the Lights of Their Eyes: Shiori's golden eyes are depicted as being faintly luminous. This is often exaggerated to comical extremes in her fanarts, where her eyes would project bright beams in the dark as if they're flashlights.
  • Character Catchphrase: Her exclamation of choice is "Oh my good god!"
  • Chained by Fashion: She has a chain wrapped around her left leg, and according to her, it's more than just a fashion accessory.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Her train of thought gets very absolutely bonkers since she has a tendency to veer off-topic, which prompts people to ask her what she's even talking about. Even Calli shares the same sentiment when she does so.
  • Cute Bookworm: She's a scatterbrained Perky Goth with an adorable voice who absolutely loves reading, spending most of her debut gushing over the kinds of books she likes.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Has a small pair of prominent canines.
  • Derailed Train of Thought: Shiori has a difficult time staying on topic when she's speaking about something, often going off on different tangents about things brought up by chat or whatever comes into her mind. Case in point: her VTuber history stream done shortly after her debut ended up diverging into tangents about old RPG Maker games she once made, her doll collection, her preferences in husbandos, and cannibalism.
  • Drives Like Crazy: You wouldn't expect it from someone as calm as she normally is, but the Advent crew became streamers because she somehow managed to crash their getaway car into the hololive offices.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: Shiori is able to play the piano and sightread music. In one of her first Twitter posts she makes post-debut, she serenades the Novelites with Für Elise.
  • Expressive Accessory: Yorick, the little spiky black creature on her shoulder, blinks and speaks when she does.
  • Expy: With her Tomes of Eldritch Lore, she is essentially a Lighter and Softer version of Abdul Alhazred. Thankfully, she is only endearingly weird and quirky rather than stark raving mad.
  • Extreme Close-Up: She has a tendency whenever she's getting particularly excited in a given topic to dramatically zoom her model up close to the camera, giving the impression she's coming right up to your face as she enters into another one of her bizarre tangents.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Beyond her regularly-voiced desire to eat Bijou, she's also expressed interest in eating Ina's tentacles, much to Ina's dismay. She has also eaten bugs before, including a hand-cam preparation of dehydrated bugs while preparing her stream for Only Up!.
  • Face of a Thug: A lot of pre-debut art and material gave Shiori the appearance and demeanor of a cool, confident, and perhaps somewhat sadistic and dominating person, going by her unhinged expression complete with Slasher Smile, but come her first stream she immediately revealed herself to be a dorky, highly talkative Perky Goth.
  • Fangirl: Of the Sherlock Holmes series. She has read the entire canon catalogue and can't get enough of it all. She spent a good part of her debut just gushing about the numerous Sherlock Holmes books. Naturally, she also expressed an admiration for Amelia, her being John Watson's granddaughter and knowing Sherlock himself.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her right leg has a striped stocking, while her left has a short one with chains.
  • Foil: She seems to be designed to contrast with Ina'nis. They both gained cursed knowledge and a new career through forbidden books, and they both have a purple and yellow colour scheme. However, while Ina was physically changed by her discovery, she still considers herself to be a human while Shiori claims to have abandoned her humanity without any outside alterations (other than the hair).
  • Genius Book Club: A trait telegraphed in her pre-debut teaser video, in which she's lounging in front of a heap of books while reading. She's extremely well-read and frequently rambles about books, from Sherlock Holmes to the classics of English literature. The genius comes in her wide knowledge pool beyond books — she's shown aptitude in microbiology, streaming technologies, programming languages, video editing, and more.
  • Genius Ditz: She is extremely knowledgeable about some topics, but shows herself to be completely clueless in many areas that most people consider to be common knowledge, such as this lengthy segment where she keeps confusing famous people.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Zig-zagged — while she can drop hard swears on occasion, usually it's from a reflexive outburst. For the most part, Shiori has a rather delicate approach when it comes to profanity or "un-seiso" terminology, preferring to navigate around them using creative euphemisms and metaphors when she can help it. One particular side tangent saw her describing her history with tests on human anatomy, especially of reproductive systems, and she was very careful in describing certain organs as an "XY chromosomian sword" and "the female XX chromosomian areas". However, this can turn on itself to hilarious results, such as when she panicked and tried to censor the word "anarchist", only to instead describe it as something much worse.
Shiori: The, uh, something-"chist"! But like... it's like "anal" but without the "L", and then you replace the "L" with an "R"...
  • I Can Change My Beloved: "You wish to fix me, don't you~?" Evokes this from her chat while also claiming to want to fix chat in turn.
  • The Insomniac: Claims she's unable to get much sleep, mostly due to being so engaged in the books she reads.
  • Keeper of Forbidden Knowledge: She thrives on collecting more stories and was imprisoned for finding something the gods didn't want anyone to know.
  • The Leader: Is stated to be the leader of Advent, and the one who masterminded their escape. Lore aside, she also seems to be the Advent member with the most experience in the VTubing sphere, making her well-placed to guide her genmates.
  • Lethal Chef: Her cooking methods are questionable, and her food sanitation practices are even worse.
  • Locked into Strangeness: States that she originally had black hair, but half of it turned white after all of the knowledge she held took effect on her mind.
  • Loves the Sound of Screaming: Played for Laughs in Advents October 27, 2023 Devour collab stream.
[FUWAMOCO and Bijou start screaming off-screen]
Shiori: Music to my ears, Rissa. Music to my ears. [several uninterrupted seconds of screaming continues] It's like a lullaby.
  • Meaningful Name: Novella is a suitable name for someone with a book motif, and "Shiori" (栞) means "bookmark" in Japanese.
  • Motifs: Eyes. Many of her official branding and associated artwork are accompanied with imagery of otherworldly-looking eyes similar to her own, her oshi mark is an eye emoji, and the tassels of her dress are also styled accordingly.
  • Morality Chain: Surprisingly, Shiori is the only thing keeping her gen together if there's a game they're playing that allows others to kill each other. During the gen's second Minecraft stream, everyone were playing perfectly fine. The second she leaves, Nerissa is fighting a war with Mococo and Bijou because Mococo wouldn't return Nerissa's shovel. Which escalates into an open fight with the three girls.
  • Nerves of Steel: During her Phasmophobia collab stream with Nerissa, she mentioned she used to be bullied by a girl in school, but she was anything but intimidated by her bully.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Shiori likes taking pictures of insects and hopes to create a farming horror game.
  • Noodle Implements: She uses scissors to eat her food.
  • Perky Goth: She cheerfully calls herself a "hot goth girlfriend". And yes, she likes Hot Topic.
  • Poster-Gallery Bedroom: You'd think with her name and image her bedroom would look like a dark, gothic library wouldn't you? Wrong again! Her bedroom is shown to have a mostly pink and lavender color scheme, complete with a cute pink tea set and fancy sweets on top of a doily. This is a bedroom that wouldn't look out of place in a Barbie dream house.
  • Prematurely Grey-Haired: According to her lore, the right side of her hair was bleached white after overexposure to eldritch knowledge.
  • The Smart Gal: Aside from her knowledge of topics as esoteric and broad as VTuber history and biology, she's extremely skilled when it comes to the technical aspects of VTubing, even developing her own cut-in assets and animations for her streams.
  • Talkative Loon: Is known to veer into this territory while going on her bizarre tangents. It's often joked by her audience that part of the reason Shiori is prone to deranged nonsense is a combination of her lack of filter for her intrusive thoughts (or, if it does exist, it's a tenuous one at the best of times) and her inability to stop talking once she's in too deep.
  • Team Mom: Acts like the mature, motherly leader of Advent during collabs and can be quite protective of them. Bijou confirms that, despite her strange quirks, she is ultimately the most responsible member of Advent (although she does go on to say that's not a high bar to clear).
  • The Tease: Admits that she's this for Advent, unleashing it on both her genmates and her chat on the regular.
  • These Are Things Man Was Not Meant to Know: She was locked up specifically for learning something she shouldn't have, which took such a toll on her that half her hair turned white. The strange dark entity on her shoulder and the dripping eyes that represent her strongly imply that she must have come in contact with Eldritch Abominations.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Her design gives the impression of this, even though her personality is actually quite sweet.
  • Token Human: She is the most human-like in her gen, although she still falls under Ambiguously Human, with the way she talks about humans implying she isn't one herself. At least, not anymore.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Bugs, especially store-bought insects used for consumption. She even tries to eat the bugs with candy.
  • Unusual Euphemism: Her (inconsistent) habit of self-censoring her language ends up leading her into odd directions, with her most common being referring to breasts as "itty witties".
  • Vocal Dissonance: With an appearance like that, you'd expect her voice to sound something like Kronii's, right? Nope, it's actually super soft and high-pitched. She's admitted that tons of people she's met don't think it's real, but it is.
  • Was Once a Man: Shiori said that she was human before she underwent a change that made her Ambiguously Human. She is now unsure if humanity still applies to her.
  • Yakuza: She was meant to inherit the Nyakuza family, but she refused. A pair of cat mafia still support her and act as secondary mascots.
  • Yandere: Her randomly obsessive nature can veer into this territory from time to time, flipping between flirty and implicitly threatening at the drop of a hat. One of her various tangents had her discuss how during her playthrough of Fable II, Shiori was so enamored by the female worker at a furniture store that post-game, she spent her time protecting her, proposing to her, and showering her with strange gifts, including a remote cottage in the woods for just the two of them. Apparently, when the "furniture woman" had enough and threatened to leave, Shiori killed her so they could be together forever.
Shiori: She was about to divorce me! And do you know? Shiori does not believe in... I don't believe in the idea of divorce.
  • You Didn't Ask: She actually knows where the rest of Nerissa's right horn is, much to the others' surprise. She only kept quiet because Nerissa never asked her about it.
Bijou: Wait, you didn't tell her?
Shiori: Why would I? She didn't ask.

    Koseki Bijou

Koseki Bijou [JP: 古石ビジュ―]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/f2apjqcakaexlgx.jpg
"Bon-Bijou!"

Debut Date: July 29th, 2023
Birthday: April 14
Height: 140 cm
Fanbase name: Pebbles
Illustrator: Mo Kitada
Channel: Youtube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 1█
Affiliation: Kirin Co., Rock Hard Construction
Species: Gem
Languages spoken: Rock ("Native"), English (Native), Thai (basic conversational), Japanese (Elementary)
Alias: Biboo
Occupation (bar idol): Employee of Kirin co., CEO of Rock Hard Construction
The Sparkling Gem who was sent to the prison after her presence drove people to fight over her.
  • A-Cup Angst: Lacking any prominent assets, she is not amused by flat/pettan jokes that chat are fond of dishing out. When it is brought up that "[a floppy disk]'s like Biboo's chest", she immediately deflects onto the smaller-chested Mococo.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Quickly gained the nickname "Biboo" from Shiori, which caught on in Advent and many other Holo members. In addition, Indonesian viewers also bestowed her the nickname "Bejo" which is a Javanese term for "lucky". Kaela sometimes playfully exaggerates how she pronounces Biboo's given name to call her "Beejoe", or "Joe" for short.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a crystallization of various human emotions.
  • Artifact of Attraction: The reason behind her imprisonment. Her presence causes people to fight over her, which caused her to be deemed too dangerous to be allowed to run free.
  • Audience Participation: In her debut stream, she encourages viewers to create their own "pebblesonas" and share the designs with her.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: Is treated and doted on like the baby sister of Advent (and later EN as a whole), due to her small size, childish personality and voice. Further emphasized with the pacifier included in her New Year's outfit.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: She mentioned wanting to create a strong, lasting meme in the vein of "Pain Peko" or "Yubi Yubi". Not long after, Pebbles latched onto her pronunciation of Ganondorf and Gerudo, specifically how she's pronounced them with soft Gs her whole life and wasn't corrected until her second stream of Tears of the Kingdom, in addition to her alternative ways of saying other words. It then became a meme for the fans to deliberately switch around the soft and hard Gs in words when chatting to her, swapping out Gs and Js (e.g. "Unforjivable") or inserting Js into words randomly (e.g. "Jorse" or "Juperchat").
  • Brown Note: Played for laughs. Her infamous "Sticking out your gyatt for Nerizzler!" song is deliberately used this way after Bijou discovered its sanity-damaging effect on her fans and fellow idols, who refer to it as brainrot due to its insane catchiness that causes it to be stuck in their heads. She would later explain to Calli in a Minecraft stream that the "Biboo Tax" is her efforts to induce insanity in the other holomems in whatever ways she can.
  • Butt-Monkey: Is constantly bullied and gaslit by her chat or other Holo members from her English slip-ups, her height, or the size of her bust.
    • Around debut, her genmates and other Hololive members desired to eat her, while Kaela expressed interest in mining her like a rare mineral.
    • Inverted on numerous occasions with her own chat, though, with Bijou spotting classic "Gottem" traps and pre-empting them while admonishing her chat to do better. And then she baits her own chat instead, much to their disbelief.
  • Character Catchphrase:
    • "Rock rock!", which was created as an attempt to develop a cute catchphrase in the same vein as Fuwawa and Mococo's "Bau bau!". This is typically used by her chat as her raid phrase whenever she raids into another stream.
    • There's "Dang it!" whenever things go awry.
    • "Don't talk to me, I'm sad." is her choice phrase whenever she's affecting an edgy or emo facade. It was first used in an Advent collab where they were drawing new outfits on each other and saw continued use from her Devil May Cry playthroughs and onwards.
  • Conlang: Parodied Trope. During her debut stream, she mentions that her native language is "Rock", which she demonstrates by opening and closing her mouth as if speaking, but otherwise remaining completely silent.
  • Covert Pervert: While she's generally one of the more seiso girls, disliking jokes that are too lewd, she is still willing to deal out an occasional one for the sake of a meme.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Much like Luna before her, despite appearances and her silly personality, Bijou is an enjoyer of (and also quite adept at) high-skill video games, most notably Souls-like titles which are noted to be some of her favorites.
    • Her Final Fantasy XIV stream also had her clearing the first map of Endwalker's newestnote  Savage raid tier with her Pebbles with relative ease, which further demonstrates her prowess.
    • As soon as the collaboration restriction was lifted, she brought Calli on to provide commentary as she reenacted her audition to management: a first-try victory over Sans in a modded version of Undertale that turned Sans into Calli, complete with changing the normal text box sound effect to Calli's signature "Guh". Which Bijou made herself.
  • Crystalline Creature: Bijou's body is made of supernatural crystals, and she refers to herself as being a gem and a rock.
  • Curse That Cures: Gave her audience the forms of Pebbles in order to protect them from the Artifact of Attraction effect that she has on humans.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Bijou is apparently known for "spilling a lot" while eating, at least according to FuwaMoco.
  • Damsel in Distress: In the April Fools' Day collab for Advent, Bijou is trapped inside a moai statue due to a curse, and her genmates must save her.
  • Determinator: Bijou claims that this is her strength, and why she's as good at games as she is, saying that she's able to spend six hours on a single boss in a video game without giving up until she beats it.
  • Elmuh Fudd Syndwome: Downplayed, but Bijou has a lot of trouble with the letter "R", especially when talking fast or attempting tongue twisters; both her genmates and the Pebbles have bullied her with repetitive "R" prompts. She can pronounce it, but she has to slow down and focus for the trickier words. One particular Japanese word she struggled with was "Ryouri suru"note , with chat repeatedly trying to make her say the word for several consecutive streams. Another notable instance is a Pebble with the username "Irish Wristwatch", which reduced her to cry-laughing.
  • Fangirl: She has quickly taken a liking to Vergil from her Devil May Cry 3 playthrough, especially when he slicks his hair back after stabbing Dante through the chest. She practically squeed when the Pebbles organised a Cameo message from Vergil's VA Dan Southworth for her birthday.
  • Flight: Bijou claims to be capable of this, hence why she's not at all worried of possibly getting yeeted by Calli. In fact she even goaded the reaper into tossing her because of her power of flight.
  • Full-Name Basis: Towards Bae. Immediately after debut, Bae expressed a preference to her original name of "Bijou" rather than her more well-known nickname "Biboo" and insisted on calling her this. During their first collab, this joke got taken further when they both decided to calling each other by their full names, since they both had the same situation of going by nicknames and their proper first names being forgotten. This is further cemented after their Sibling Rivalry dynamic is established, where the two of them will insistently refer to each other by their full names where possible, and even call each other out if they slip up and say the nickname.
  • Fun Size: She is overall the shortest EN girl at 140cm tall, making her shorter than Gura, equal to Luna (without her crown), and barely taller than Laplus (without her horns).
  • The Gadfly: Bijou loves to troll her chat and other members, ranging from hitting them with "gottem" jokes or pullying pranks on collab partners.
  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!: Bijou replaces curse words with "beep".
  • Happily Adopted: One of several small Holo girls who seeks out a collection of moms, including Fauna, Kaela, Nerissa, Shiori, Ririka, Kobo (being each other's moms), Ollie and more to come.
  • Let's Meet the Meat: Several other Hololive members, including her genmates, all seem to treat her as food of some kind, with many of them expressing a desire to eat her, and some have tried to have a go at her crystalline feet before. As per Nerissa's account, her feet taste like rock candy.
  • Meaningful Name: A two-fer. "Bijou" is French for "jewel", but can also be used to describe something that's small yet precious and/or beautiful. Could also be a three-fer, since bijou (pronounced "bee-jo" rather than "bee-ju") means "pretty lady" in Japanese. Her hashtag "Bijouwled" is a pun on Bejeweled, further reinforcing the gem motif.
  • Name Order Confusion: Bijou is the only member of Advent to have her name written in Japanese order.
  • The Noseless: Subverted, as she does have a nose, just incredibly hard to see normally due to her illustrator's art style. Bijou has the most subtle one among her entire generation, being represented simply as a small dot on her face that's hardly visible without zooming in on her character model. This doesn’t stop the Pebbles from teasing her about it.
Chat: You sound like you don’t have a nose.
    Bijou: I have a nose!
  • Only Known By Her Nickname: Zig-zagged. Much like Calli and Bae, Biboo soon became the name others primarily referred to her as over her original name of Bijou, which includes even company staff members. It got to the point where calling by her proper original name gets met with remarks of "who's Bijou?". Although it hasn't quite made where her original name completely defunct, with some members still using "Bijou", especially Bae who refuses to use anything but her original name (in the same vein as Kiara calling her "Baelz").
  • Punny Name: Her surname is written (古石) and spoken very similarly to the word "hōseki" (宝石), meaning "gemstone". Additionally, her channel's membership tiers all have rock-themed punny names, being Gemlins, Boulders, and Moai Moai Kyun, respectively.
  • Say My Name: "KAELAAAAAAAAA!!!!"
  • Shout-Out:
  • Sibling Rivalry: With Baelz. After adding Ollie to her mom collection (who is the main mom of Bae), this revelation established Bijou as being her little sister. This would lead Bae and Bijou to bicker and fight like sisters on a regular basis in group games, and the two of them are on a constant Full-Name Basis with each other as an indication of this, with plenty of frustrated Say My Name.
  • Signature Laugh: Hers is a distinctive squeaky laugh that ends with her inhaling before sighing. It's often compared to the sound of windshield wipers.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Parodied. Speaks fluent "Rock"... by going totally silent for a few moments and donning a huge, open-mouthed smile, before moving her mouth as though speaking, but still remaining silent.
  • Stylistic Suck: Her debut slides purposely look like someone went over the top in an early-2000s Powerpoint presentation, including ugly fonts, amateur slide transitions, a .png of her character with the checkered transparency background still visible, and art decorations straight out of Clipart. At one point, the Google Slides program itself was visible, showing off the future slides.
  • Token Mini-Moe: The shortest EN member, who looks and acts like a young girl. She even gives her age as 1█ years old. It might be only two digits, or...
  • Transformation Sequence: Her debut features her breaking out of a Moai statue and creating her dress in a Magical Girl-esque Transformation Sequence. This has been replayed in each subsequent solo stream thus far, complete with a cry of "Kira kira kosekiii~!".
  • Tulpa: Implied by her backstory, which describes Bijou as a gem-like being created from humanity's myriad emotions throughout history, but mostly Greed.
  • Vague Age: Similar to Ina, her actual age is blocked out by her not-so-transparent full-body image .png, only showing that it begins with 1. According to Nerissa, however, Bijou is older than she is, thus implying an age in the ten thousands at minimum.
  • Verbal Tic:
    • She tends to exclaim "Whee!" or "Yaaay!" when excited and "Anyway..." in many situations. Similarly to Kobo, she also tends to say "ehe".
    • Whenever her character dies in a game, she goes "Bweh!" and the Pebbles only noticed five months after debut.
  • What's a Henway?: Bijou is incredibly savvy to these types of jokes, not only frequently dishing out her own various "gottem" lines, but also being effectively immune to attempts by her chat to bait her into saying them.
Superchat: Biboo! Can't wait to see you and the rest of the Advent girls at conventions soon! ACEN and AX have happened already, but it would be awesome if we can see you at SauCon!
Bijou: I would love to do a meet and greet someday! I would love to meet you guys at SauCondeez nuts. Try again.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Bijou hates pickaxes to the point where she edits her entire Dislikes section on stream to solely list it. Before that, her list of dislikes included bees; she clarifies in the first Advent collab that she outright freezes up whenever she sees one.

Languages spoken: English, Japanese (Elementary)
Occupation (bar idol): Employee of Kirin co., Intern at KFP

The Demon of Sound whose powerful singing voice drove people mad. The gods destroy her right horn which nullifies her powers.

  • Accent Slip-Up: It's very subtle, but Nerissa has moments where she slips into a typical Minnesota Scandahoovian accent. Especially notable when she explains to her fans how to properly pronounce "Ope!" She claims that it's because her family comes from "Upper Hell".
  • Affectionate Nickname: She's referred to as "Neririn" by Ina, as "Nessie" by Bae, and as "Rissa" by Shiori. Kobo, being Kobo, immediately dubbed her "Nori" instead for seemingly no reason.
  • Airplane Arms: Admits to doing the Naruto run back in the day because of her love of the anime.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: She likes Gale from Baldur's Gate III, and even states she like evil men over asshole men (though she warmed up to Astarion over time).
  • Ambiguously Bi: Nerissa's love of the female form cannot be understated; there are very few things that get her as passionate as when talking to or about beautiful women. That said, she does admit that certain types of men also strike her fancy, such as when discussing The Lord of the Rings, she said she like beautiful men like Legolas or rugged types like Aragorn. Nerissa would also later reveal an intense love for vampires and how the concept of intimate blood sucking turns her on, regardless of gender.
  • Animal Motifs: Ravens, as stated right there in her name, and her outfit is appropriately festooned with dark feathers to match.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: She gets annoyed whenever her younger brother always crashes into her work room, flexes, tells her a random trivia on Rome and then buggers off.
Brorissa: (hissing from Nerissa's doorway upon one such incident while she's talking about it on stream) Ballistaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
  • Ascended Fangirl: Has admitted that she's been a Hololive fangirl ever since discovering Myth, and is now one of the Gen 3 EN members. In particular, she admits to being a massive fan of Kiara. As such, she was more than happy to take up the position of Kiara's "intern" when the latter offered.
  • Bad Powers, Good People: Prior to getting her horn broken off, Nerissa had the power to drive listeners to insanity with her Compelling Voice, but she is generally a nice girl and doesn't hold any intentional desire to abuse her magic this way.
  • Before My Time: Is often on the receiving end of this whenever she makes a reference to any of her favorite movies, only for her fellow genmates to not get the reference. She ends up feeling MUCH older than she should as a result.
  • Big Little Sister: She's the youngest of her sisters, but also the tallest.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Nerissa is known to being overly protective to her brother. Even when he is an adult, she still forbades him from drinking or driving and she still thinks that he is her "Little ten year old".
  • Big Sister Worship: She makes it no secret that she loves and adores her two older sisters. This is in spite of the fact that her eldest sister has renounced her demonic roots and become something of a White Sheep in stark contrast to the rest of their family.
  • Brown Note Being: The reason for her arrest was because a "dark power" had crept into her singing, and could potentially drive the whole world mad if it was ever released. Luckily, that dark power was nullified thanks to her losing part of her right horn, allowing her to sing on stream without issue.
  • Casual Kink: Nerissa really enjoys playing up her pregnancy fetish. She would regularly make suggestions towards her chat and even asked Kiara to have a child and host monthly pregnancy check up streams with her, with herself acting as the mother carrying the supposed phoenix-raven hybrid baby. This only got kicked into high gear after the debut of her older sisters, the eldest of whom has five children, which spurred Nerissa to want her own so as to not lose to her sibling. Needless to say, this caught most of Advent (barring Shiori, who's Seen It All) off guard when Nerissa told them about it.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: Despite Nerissa's unsubtle perverted side of flirting and leering at other girls, she is still very well mannered and respectful when it matters.
    • Nerissa is a self-described "booby fiend" but claims that she will only touch another lady's chest with their express permission.
  • The Clan: She revealed that her father is one of 12 children courtesy of her grandmother, and that her eldest sister is the mother of four with a fifth coming soon. Nerissa herself has two older sisters (Aradia and Malpha, both of whom have cameoed on stream) and a younger brother (Malphis). Safe to say the Ravencroft family tree is strong with many branches.
  • Cleavage Window: Nerissa gained an "accessory" option in early March 2024 in the form of her top being unbuttoned halfway down her torso to reveal her ample cleavage, with the window being formed by the shape of the opening and her vest strap.
  • Competition Freak: Used to be one in school where she even had a soccer rival that gets frustrated when her team loses. Until now, she's lost this mindset.
  • Cool Big Sis: As the seemingly oldest and maturest of Advent, she acts like one towards the smaller girls, especially Bijou and Mococo, who she is often protective towards and helps out a lot.
  • Depower: What losing a huge chunk of her right horn did to her, as explained on her Ring Fit Adventure stream. She still retains some of her magic, but only enough to hoist up her chest, prevent her skirt from flashing herself, and fly around with her "butt wings".
  • Fangirl: She is a self-professed "lover of idols", having been introduced to Japanese otaku culture while she was imprisoned. Hololive itself is her dream come true, because she just loves all of the talent (Kiara especially). Naturally, any time she notices an older gen member in her chat, she momentarily loses focus to gush about them. She also listed off Macross — a series known for featuring idols as a major story element — as one of her favorite anime.
  • Friendless Background: Going by her Phasmophobia collab stream with Shiori, she tells her that she doesn't really have any friends until she joined hololive, as she sees everyone as her friends.
  • Giggling Villain: When indulging in some good-natured griefing with her genmates, Nerissa freaked out chat with a subtle, menacing chuckle, immediately dubbed as her "evil laugh."
  • Going Commando: Nerissa has expressed a dislike for both underwear and bras, and has declared herself to be strictly "nopan". She also says that her boobs are held up by "the power of demon magic", the same magic that's used to hold down her skirt so she won't accidentally flash everyone around her.
  • Harem Seeker: Much like Ollie, Nerissa is a giga-simp and a serial flirt who seeks the attention of everyone in Hololive. She has expressed her desire to acquire a harem of multiple girlfriends/wives, with others girls teasing her for being a cheater.
  • Horned Humanoid: She has a pair of black horns, one on each side of her head. The left is much larger than the right, which was broken off. This weakened her powers considerably, including her tendency to cause madness.
  • Instrumental Weapon: Her spear is a tuning fork that can also change into a microphone.
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: She has no compunctions about swearing in general, but her mother thought she was streaming for childreninvoked and so chides her for swearing in front of her supposed underage audience. Nerissa knows full well that her audience are full-grown adults or at least old enough to handle swearing, hence why she does so.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Her propensity for being lewd and loving lewd things has gotten her compared to Marine.
  • Mind-Control Music: Her singing drove humans to insanity. Though she clarifies it wasn’t the singing itself, but her inadvertently channeling her demonic powers through the song, which was thankfully nerfed due to her right horn being broken off.
  • Mundane Utility: Due to her disliking of underwear, Nerissa would instead use her demonic powers to hold up her sizable bust in lieu of a bra. This also extends to her Magic Skirt as well, as she runs the risk of flashing other people if she's not consciously holding it down with her powers.
  • Neat Freak: Admits that she likes to clean for people.
  • Nerves of Steel: Slightly downplayed. While she still does get scared, Nerissa doesn't get too scared when playing horror games and manages to keep her cool most of the time.
  • Otaku: Is said to have immersed herself into otaku culture while in The Cell.
  • Our Demons Are Different: She is stated to be a "Demon of Sound" who has mystical singing abilities.
  • Parental Favoritism: Nerissa mentions how her younger brother is the family's favorite and the next in line to the Ravencroft throne.
  • Pineapple Ruins Pizza: Inverted. She loves pineapple on pizza. She says it's okay if it's not your thing, but it's okay to be wrong.
  • Ridiculously Small Wings: Nerissa possesses a pair of "butt wings" that are seamlessly integrated into the hem of her skirt, which are apparently powerful enough to lift her and enable her to fly around with Kobo riding on her back.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: She's made her negative stance on underwear quite clear, and stated the "spiciness" of fanart has no limit, as long as the fans keep the more titillating stuff in a separate hashtag. She's also well aware of her chest's physics, even if she doesn't overtly refer to it. At one point months later, she even asks chat if they'd come up with a hashtag for NSFW art of her yet, and unconvincingly claims it's so she can block it to avoid seeing it.
    • Bijou once shared a room with Nerissa pre-debut, and confirms that she was not shy about stripping down in front of Bijou within the first hour. She also claims that Nerissa normally sleeps naked, but wore a shirt out of consideration for Bijou because they were sharing a bed.
  • Siblings Wanted: When she was younger, she had two older sisters, and they would often put on makeup and do her hair, and when she found out her mother was pregnant, she hoped she gets a little sister so they could do the same. But then her mother gives birth to a boy and was disappointed. She's in good terms with her brother though.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Stands at 175 cm, most closely rivaled by Kaela (173) and Reine (172). Since Coco (180) graduated, she is the new tallest girl in hololive. She acknowledges this in her debut.
  • Strong Family Resemblance: According to her illustrations (and approved fanarts) of them, her family members all share the same demonic features and sense of fashion, with the only notable differences being their accent colors, the shapes of their horns, and, as far as her mother and sisters are concerned, varying but all still well-endowed bust sizes.
  • Sweet Tooth: She claims to love all sweet things, which also included Bijou's crystalline feet.
  • Team Mom: Shares this role with Shiori, with Nerissa acting very motherly both towards other talents and her chat.
  • Too Many Belts: She has at least 5 belts on her torso and also one on each of her arms, something she acknowledges as being enough to start sharing.
  • Vague Age: Like many of her peers, Nerissa didn't provide a concrete age range for herself in her profile, only claiming that she's at least "old enough to drink alcohol", which varies quite wildly around the world, though she does settle for the average American minimum of 21 for the purpose of proper measurements in Ring Fit Adventure. She does suggest that she's at least over 9,000 years old, however like Gura before her, the other three digits are still a blur.
  • Verbal Tic: "Ope!"note , usually when she is surprised or discovered something interesting. Her fans very quickly picked up on this and would invoke it whenever she blurted out something dubious on-stream, thus turning Nerissa herself into her own Phrase Catcher. She even commented on this during her membership stream, stating she wants to make an "Ope" emoticon after not anticipating how much it would catch on.

    FUWAMOCO (Fuwawa & Mococo Abyssgard)

Fuwawa Abyssgard [JP: フワワ・アビスガード] & Mococo Abyssgard [JP: モココ・アビスガード]

"I'm not a chihuahua, I'm Fuwawa!"
"I'm not Fuwawa, I'm Mococo!"
"Together we're..." "FUWAMOCO!"

Debut Date: July 30th, 2023
Birthday: February 1 (Fuwawa), February 2 (Mococo)
Height: 155 cm
Fanbase name: Ruffians
Illustrator: ICOMOCHI
Channel: YouTube
Social Media: Twitter

Age: 20(00)
Species: Demon dogs
Languages spoken: "Dog", English, Japanese
Occupation (bar idol): Demonic Guard Dogs
The Twin Demonic Guard Dogs. Unlike the others, they were imprisoned for annoying the gods, before joining the other girls to escape the prison. As twins, they are inseparable and stream together as a pair.
  • A-Cup Angst: In their introductory video they sent to A-chan, Fuwawa says that Mococo is a lot like A-chan, implying the fact that they both have flat chests, with Mococo suspiciously trying to dance around the subject. Became much more of a sore spot for Mococo after the Ruffians started making fanart emphasizing her flatness, even worse so if they also buffed Fuwawa's (already notable) endowment as a comparison as well.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Fuwawa always calls Mococo, "Moco-chan". Notable in that Fuwawa does not use the "-chan" honorofic for any of the other Advent members.
  • Animal Jingoism: Double subverted. At first glance, them listing cats as one of their likes seems to be at odds with the usual dog motif. Then, they reveal that they like to eat kittens and huff cats. They might not hold any animosity towards cats, but these Demon dogs are still very much a danger to them.
  • Animal Motifs: Dogs, with both possessing Little Bit Beastly features, including dog ears and tails. Specifically they state they are Demon Guard Dogs, but are still puppies.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: Inverted; Mococo's outfit includes a crop top, but she otherwise has a more boyish fashion sense compared to Fuwawa.
  • *Bleep*-dammit!: They were very clumsy about censoring the curse words in their The Typing of the Dead: Overkill stream, resulting in this.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Mococo, as the more tomboyish one of the duo, has short chin-length hair.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: Fuwawa has a significantly larger chest size compared to Mococo. At the same time, Fuwawa's got a gentler personality while Mococo is more feisty.
  • Butt-Monkey: Mococo, who is constantly bullied for being less endowed than her sister, being considered to be very needy, and forced to eat the dreaded natto every week.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Due to them sharing the same social media accounts, the twins use heart emojis in their respective colors to denote who's talking in their posts and replies, or to specify which one a given thread is about. This method of identification has also been adopted by the Ruffians for fanarts.
  • Coordinated Clothes: The two of them wear the same style of outfit - black overcoats over white outfits and sneakers with coloured highlights. The only differences are that Fuwawa's highlights are blue while Mococo's are pink, and Fuwawa wears a dress while Mococo wears a crop top and shorts.
  • Covert Pervert: Fuwawa is a cute and wholesome pup just like her sister, but her likes tend to skew toward less wholesome content. Her list of favorite anime has two works infamous for their sexual content, her favorite Japanese word is "yobai", and she is banned from playing The Sims due to making them do "strange" things.
  • Curtains Match the Window: In a peculiar inversion, each of their eyes match the highlights of the other twin.
  • Cute, but Cacophonic: Mococo definitely is cute, but she also can let loose sustained, high-pitched, or raspy shrieks (possibly best exemplified by their performance of "Crazy Frog"). She also has notably loud sneezes, when compared to Fuwawa.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Self-admitted by both in a Q&A stream. Fuwawa is said to be the clumsier of the two, a fact which she acknowledges.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Their cute designs and playful personalities have incited this reaction from throughout Hololive. Doubly so whenever they Speak in Unison, which both fans and Hololive members find absolutely adorable.
    Matsuri: Yahoo!
    FuwaMoco: Bau bau!
    Matsuri: Kuhhhh... that's too cute!
  • Dare to Be Badass: Mococo occasionally devotes a segment of FuwaMoco Morning to a "pup talk", where she compliments the Ruffians for getting through the week so far, and encouraging them to keep it up for the rest of the week.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite the two of them being demon dogs, both of them are complete goofballs who are only mischievous at their absolute worst.
  • Deadpan Snarker: As close as they may be, Mococo will waste no time taking potshots at Fuwawa's gaming abilities — or more accurately, lack thereof. As she says it best, "This is why Fuwawa is not usually the main player."
  • Distinction Without a Difference: Fuwawa is fluffy. Mococo is fuzzy.
  • The Dividual: As twin VTubers, they notably share their YouTube and Twitter profiles. They distinguish who's speaking by signing off their lines with different-colored hearts — blue for Fuwawa, pink for Mococo.
  • Does Not Like Spam:
    • To the utter shock of the Ruffians and others who know them, neither Fuwawa or Mococo like pizza. Though it makes more sense after it becomes clear they really hate tomatoes and anything made with tomatoes, such as pizza or pasta.
    • Mococo additionally has an intense dislike of natto.
  • A Dog Named "Perro": Their mascot/pet is called Perroccino or Pero for short ("Perro" is Spanish for dog).
  • Elmuh Fudd Syndwome: Downplayed with Fuwawa. Sometimes, her R's turn into W's, e.g., "Ruffians" becomes "Wuffians", which she says happens more often whenever she is more relaxed.
  • Everybody Hates Mathematics: In their own words, "nobody likes math".
  • Evil-Detecting Dog: Implied. Mococo is able to allay her suspicion of chat by smelling them, even saying that "if they're good people, they'll smell good", implying that she (and Fuwawa by extension) can detect if somebody is a good person by smell. Sure enough, they decide that chat smells trustworthy.
  • Evil Twin: Referenced. After chat asked a question of which was the evil twin, the two of them alternated between saying neither of them were evil and that the other twin was evil. The Ruffians seem to lean more towards Fuwawa being the evil one.
  • Face Your Fears: The twins are really scared of horror games, and want to stream some to train themselves to be braver. Their streams of Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion had them pause the game repeatedly, even when nothing was happening yet. This reached a point in later streams where they were often jumpscared by their own in-game actions, including opening doors and pausing. Mococo in particular will outright freeze in fear if sufficiently stressed, and Fuwawa will have to coax her into resuming play. This can take minutes at a time, and is met by playful teasing and headpats from chat.
  • Felony Misdemeanor: While the other three were locked up for pretty understandable reasons, Fuwawa and Mococo were imprisoned just because they were considered nuisances.
  • Gamer Chick: Mococo is usually the one in control during gaming streams while Fuwawa "helps", in ways such as hitting a censor bleep button for more risqué streams or entertaining the Ruffians.
  • Goal in Life: Being Demonic Guard Dogs, they wished to protect someone, and searching for that someone was the goal of their journey. Unfortunately, they couldn't find anyone and easily got distracted with their mischief, which led to them being imprisoned in The Cell. Luckily, they seem to have finally found someone to protect — the Ruffians.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: Mococo has a pair of headphones which are hung around her neck, but she has yet to be seen actually using them.
  • Hallucinations: Referenced. During a Minecraft stream with the rest of Advent, only Mococo was actually in-game (with Fuwawa providing commentary on stream, per usual on games that do not feature local co-op). The other members of Advent began to allude that maybe Fuwawa wasn't real and was just a hallucination of Mococo (much to Fuwawa's indignation).
  • Hates Being Touched: Downplayed; headpatting is okay, but the ears and tails are off-limits. Mococo also doesn't like her belly being rubbed.
  • Hellhound: With the demon dog theme and the "Abyssgard" surname, it's not hard to imagine that they're designed around this trope, like the individual heads of Cerberus.
  • Identical Twin ID Tag: Fuwawa's clothes have blue highlights, while Mococo's clothes have pink highlights. Also, Fuwawa has long hair while Mococo's is short. Finally, Fuwawa has pink eyes, while Mococo has blue eyes.
  • Idiot Hair: They have one each, but Mococo's comma-shaped ahoge is much more prominent because of its size and shading, while Fuwawa's is smaller and often blends in with her bangs. This is reflective of their respective personalities as well, as Mococo is the more outwardly rambunctious and mischievous of the two, while Fuwawa is no slouch herself, but tends to be more subtle with her shenanigans.
  • It Amused Me: According to her bio, Mococo took part in Advent's prison break mostly because she thought it would be fun to do so.
  • Lighter and Softer: Their lore compared to the other Advent members. While the other girls were imprisoned for legitimate and dangerous reasons (Shiori for possessing forbidden knowledge and Bijou and Nerissa for being able to unwittingly cause chaos and insanity), FuwaMoco were imprisoned for simply causing a lot of mischief. Their intro lore video depicts them in a cute chibi style, and the narration takes on a much lighter and comical tone, in further contrast to the other girls.
  • Little Bit Beastly: As dog girls, they have notable tails, ears, and claws.
  • Meaningful Name: "Fuwawa" and "Mococo" come from the Japanese onomatopoeia "fuwafuwa" and "mokomoko", both of which refer to soft, fluffy objects. Additionally, their surname "Abyssgard" refers to their Hellhound theme, being a combination of the words "abyss" and "guard"note .
  • Might as Well Not Be in Prison at All: Their introductory story states that they were imprisoned for "being a pain in the godly behind," but they spent most of their time playing video games and watching anime anyway, so they question if it even counts as a punishment.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: Their opinions about asking proposals differ depending on who's asked. Fuwawa hints this, saying she's training to be a guard dog to protect her sister. Mococo actually wouldn't mind if she's involved.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • The exact reason for their imprisonment is left unclear, only that their idea of fun was considered as unbearable mischief by humans.
    • Fuwawa is also restricted from playing any of the The Sims games due to an unclear incident. The only detail provided by Mococo is that Fuwawa got "very strange".
  • One-Steve Limit: Invoked and averted. They reject the nicknames "Wawa" and "Coco" due to two other Hololive members (Kiara and Coco respectively) already being having those monikers. They insist on "Fuwa" and "Moco" as the only nicknames they will accept.
  • Our Demons Are Different: They are stated to be demon dogs, a far cry from other demons present in Hololive like Choco or Towa.
  • Pardon My Klingon: The two of them use "fluff" as a dog-language (read: family-friendly) substitute for "fuck". When singing "Sabotage" during a karaoke stream, they notably swapped out the lyrics for one line ("this fluffing thorn in my side") and when chiding the Ruffians for underestimating how strong they were and emphasizing that they were demon guard dogs, Mococo bluntly threatened "We'll fluff you up!!" (amusingly, Fuwawa reacted to this exclamation as though Mococo had just said the uncensored version).
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Subtle, but still present. Fuwawa is more outspoken and takes the lead in talking, while Mococo tends to follow Fuwawa's lead to add onto what she says. While during gaming, Mococo is the primary gamer, while Fuwawa is infamously the backseater who gives commentary.
  • Power Fist: They have a set of Cat's Claw katars for weapons.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: During their debut, they emphasize that their last name is pronounced AByssgard, not abYSSgard.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Mococo is very feisty, loud, and her bio mentions that she's generally more mischievous, making her the Red Oni. Meanwhile, Fuwawa, while mischievous herself, is calmer, more soft-spoken, and tries to defuse Mococo when she gets rowdy, making her the Blue Oni. This is immediately apparent at the start of their debut when Mococo gets suspicious of chat and tries to bark them away before Fuwawa intervenes. Their hair highlights match up with the trope, although Mococo's highlights are pink instead of red.
  • Sideboob: Fuwawa's New Years outfit has a Kunoichi style to it, and her bare chest is sticking out from the sides.
  • Smarter Than They Look: Mococo is smart when it comes to math. When they encounter a math problem Fuwawa couldn't figure out, Mococo uses the BEDMASfor those who aren't good with math order of operations after Fuwawa insisted the math answer was 5 (it was actually 15). They do this again with 11 x 11 manually, showing Mococo's math smarts.
  • Speak in Unison: Whether it's intentional or not, the twins seem prone to mirroring each other's sentences, as seen in their streams of Spooky's House of Jumpscare Mansion and Donkey Kong Country. They've explained that, out of all the Twin Tropes they've exhibited, this is the one they're particularly embarrassed about. That said they later admit during a collab with Choco that they've gotten over their embarrassment after seeing how much people love it when they sync.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: They state their native language is actually "Dog", with English being second and Japanese being third.
  • Team Pet: They own a pet named Perroccino, who appears to be a hybrid of a dog and a bat. His appearance is also part of their personal logo.
  • Theme Twin Naming: Both are named after Japanese onomatopoeia for fluffy things; Fuwawa's name comes from "fuwafuwa" and Mococo's comes from "mokomoko".
  • Together We Are X: This is how the duo introduce themselves. "Together we're..." "FUWAMOCO!"
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Their overall dynamic in terms of their designs and personalities. Mococo is the tomboy, since she has short hair, wears shorts and a crop top, is very feisty and loud, and is the bigger Gamer Chick of the two; meanwhile, Fuwawa is the girly girl, since she has long hair, wears a dress, is calmer and more soft-spoken, and generally prefers to provide commentary during their streams rather than play games.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pon-de-rings, basically mochi donuts.
  • Twins Are Special: The first talents in hololive who stream as a pair instead of as individuals. They even share a single YouTube channel.
  • Twin Banter: A common theme of their streams. Both chat and their fellow talents have noted how uncannily in sync they are, frequently finishing sentences in unison.
  • Unknown Rival: After receiving a superchat that compliments how well they sing and perform and saying that the only other performer to give them this feeling is Kendrick Lamar, Fuwawa declares that he is now their rival despite having no idea who that is (and presumably Kendrick not knowing who they are, either). This then leads to someone using AI to make a Fuwamoco cover of "Silent Hill"...which they apparently noticed, because a couple months later, they actually covered the song on a karaoke, saying it was for their rival, "Kevin Lamar", though they admit that they've already forgotten why he's their rival.
  • Unusual Ears: They in fact have four ears each, with a more human-like pair hidden underneath their hair. Similar to Pekora's before them, their human ears are for show and not capable of hearing, though this raises the question of how Mococo is able to use her signature headphones.
  • Verbal Tic: Tend to end their sentences with "Bau Bau", which is their onomatopoeia for a dog bark.
    • Mococo herself has several verbal tics, like "uhn" when agreeing with what Fuwawa says, "ueh" after speaking on her own, and "Got it?" to emphasize what she just said. More noticeable is her addition of a schwa sound, or the "ey/eh/æ" sound, to words and sentences ending with an "oh" sound. Amusingly, she is oblivious of this, even though it has been pointed out multiple times.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: The twins have a light, cutesy manner of speaking that comes across as vaguely Canadian with heavy Japanese influence; when questioned about it, they said it's a "doggy accent," since Dog is their first language.
