    In general
  • Out of Focus: They tend to not get as much attention as the rest of hololive due to the fact that they're restricted to streaming only on bilibili, since YouTube is Banned in China. The only ones who were able to break the mold were Civia and Artia, who moved out of China and got themselves YouTube and Twitch accounts and subsequently getting some more exposure.
  • Unperson: The branch is missing from the list of talents on the official Hololive website.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: The disbandment of the entire Chinese branch and the graduation of all its talent was officially announced on November 12th, 2020, a little more than a year after Yogiri's debut and a mere six months after all of the 2nd generation's debut.

1st generation

  • Delinquent: She's a Sukeban, and her black clothing and spike decorations enforce this appearance wise.
  • Kindhearted Cat Lover: She has her own cat named "Bǎo bǎo".
  • The Last Dance: Her very last stream was a concert which also saw the debut of her 3D model, which she used to its fullest extent. Civia also had 3D model prepared for herself, but lacked the degree of motion capture Yogiri's had.
  • Singing Voice Dissonance: She's the opposite of Suisei, having a somewhat deep normal speaking voice, but having a singing voice that's noticeably higher-pitched.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Her alternate outfits make her look decidedly more feminine.

    Civia

Civia [CN: 希薇娅; JP: 希薇婭]

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: For Rosalyn. On at least one occasion, Doris has called her while the latter is also streaming in the midst of a gaming stream repeatedly, and whines each time it goes unanswered. On other occasions, Doris also melodramatically complains about how Rosalyn 'ignored and didn't care enough (about me)' but she still loves her in spite of all that.
  • Declaration of Protection: Played for Laughs, Doris once discussed about the fandom joke on how Yagoo, hololive's CEO, is constantly in the emergency room of hospitals due to his talents not living up to his supposed 'idol dream' and being its exact opposite increasing his blood pressure. Doris wants to defy this, and expresses how she wants to protect Yagoo's blood pressure and make him proud of her.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: Claims to be a mermaid, yet her only features to suggest this are her fin-like ears.

    Artia

Artia [CN: 阿媂娅; JP: アティア]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/artia___portrait.png

"A frost mage from a different dimension. A bit of a recluse and is quite shy contrary to outward appearance. Increases her magical power through gaming. Refers to playing games as a part of "training" and trains every day."

Debut date: April 11th, 2020
Retirement: November 19th, 2020
Birthday: March 15th
Height: 144 cm
Fanbase name: dìdì
Illustrator: Paryi

  • An Ice Person: She's an elementalist that specializes in ice magic.
  • Brutal Honesty: She has absolutely no problem being blunt to her viewers when she deems fit, though they accept her bluntness without complaint.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: She's a bit possessive of Civia, and at least once started to insult her chat for claims of trying to steal Civia away from her.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: Pun aside, she threatens to turn people into ice-cream if they either misbehave or break the rules on Reddit.
  • The Exile: After losing control of her powers, was banished from her home universe and likely to never return unless she learns to keep control of her ice magic.
  • Gamer Chick: She's more than familiar with Twitch culture and regularly streams Top 500 Overwatch gameplay.
  • Hidden Depths: While she likes traditional music, she also likes rap. After revealing this, she then proceeds to sing Welcome to the Rodeo for her viewers, complete with MLG glasses.
  • Hypocrite: During a stream playing Genshin Impact she's at first attracted to Kaeya only to change her mind when he asks that she smell his hand, calling him a pervert. Pretty hilarious considering she spent the stream looking up her female characters' skirt as well as mocking some characters like Amber for not being well-endowed.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: She's quite perverted and unashamed in that fact, as she's constantly tried to look up girl's skirts in video games, and frequently tweeted about wanting to look at anime girls instead of work, and has admitted to watching hentai.
  • Power Limiter: Those ribbons that trail down her hair serve as this for her ice powers.
  • Traumatic Superpower Awakening: Heavily Implied in her backstory. While she doesn't remember what happened exactly, she did discover her home up in flames with her parents nowhere to be seen and feeling completely powerless. Considering she was sent to another universe wearing a ribbon to inhibit her powers, it's entirely possible this was the case.

    Rosalyn

Rosalyn [CN: 罗莎琳; JP: ロサリン]

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rosalyn___portrait.png

"A librarian from a different dimension. Loves to travel the world to broaden her horizons. During one of her travels, she became obsessed with trading card games (TCG) and decided to remain in our world. Dreams to participate in a global TCG competition."

Debut date: April 5th, 2020
Retirement: December 26th, 2020
Birthday: December 10th
Height: 160 cm
Illustrator: Chon

  • Deadpan Snarker: Quite prone to snipe insults which are difficult to distinguish from praises.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: When asked what she'd do if Doris and her cards fell into a river, she chose her cards without hesitation because Doris is a mermaid who can swim. When the question was changed to both of them falling into a hot pot, she chose Doris instead because the cards wouldn't burn at such temperatures.
