A Nephilim VSinger and the embodiement of Hope. She descended upon the Earth to spread hope with the power of her singing voice.

IRyS was once the sole member of Project: HOPE. While not officially part of -Council-, IRyS would remain closely associated with them.

Following October 8th, 2023, it was announced that Project: HOPE would be retired, with IRyS being folded in with the rest of Council to form a new EN unit, formally known as Hololive English -Promise-.

A-M

Absurd Phobia:
- Ceiling fans. It started after seeing a rickety one at a friend's house that looked like it was about to fall off the whole time it was on. This was further bolstered by watching the Final Destination movies, in which someone dies by having a ceiling fan fall on them.
- Tube men — that is, wacky flailing inflatable tube men normally found outside of car dealerships — freak her out because of how unnatural their movements look.
- Going through car washes traumatized her as a child. She would get upset whenever DadRyS would leave her in the car while it was getting washed.
The Ace: IRyS was put in the VSinger group for her phenomenal singing ability. She displays the most vocal range out of HololiveEN, and is able to hold notes at high volumes like a professional singer, in both English and Japanese, which is something other Hololive members haven't been able to match. To give some perspective: Nene and Calli, who are capable and accomplished singers in their own right, separately went on karaoke dates with IRyS. Both Calli and Nene say that they felt overwhelmed by how good IRyS was.
Acrophobic Bird: Despite having wings that allow her to fly, IRyS is afraid of heights and thus only flies when necessary, preferring to walk.
Actually Pretty Funny:
- After discrediting the meme where fan artists depicted her as the child of Kanata and Towa, she did however find it funny.
- Whenever her viewers see her doing something or saying something rather... questionable, they will use the term "YabaiRyS". She actually finds the word funny and rolls with it.
Ambiguously Related:
- Both her and Kanata have confirmed that despite IRyS being a half-demon, half-angel, she is not the child of Kanata and Towa. Though Kanata did suggest the possibility that IRyS is a distant relative, and might actually be related to Choco somehow.
- Nine months later, Towa contradicts the above remarks by claiming IRyS as "[her] baby" and that she may very well be the daughter she had with Kanata after all.
Amicable Exes: She and Bae got married and divorced within the space of one day, but remain on very friendly terms, though sometimes delving into Vitriolic Best Buds.
Anime Hair: A decidedly unusual example, as IRyS's thigh-length hair doesn't look anything too special until you take a look at the concept art, which reveals four layers of hair, each with a unique pattern. She admits that it takes a good hour to shampoo the whole thing in the shower, gets very heavy when wet, and takes a long time to dry it. In addition, according to Ina, said hair also apparently tastes like raspberries.
Artistic License – Religion: Biblical nephilim are generally agreed upon by scholars to be descendants of angels and female humans, and before that, of gods and humans (from early Biblical drafts where Yahweh was one god out of many), and had no connections to demons, who came into Christian cosmology much later ^note. As well, they were stated to be giants, with the closest thing to a physical description of them in the Hebrew Bible stating that regular humans were like grasshoppers compared to them.
Batman Can Breathe in Space: And talk in a vacuum too. In Episode 1 of Smol Adventures, IRyS can breathe and speak normally on the surface of a barren planet, while the members of Myth have to be wearing space suits and communicating via radio.
Badass Driver: Despite being a relative newcomer to Mario Kart 8DX, viewers immediately noticed how adept she was at the game. By the time of the EN vs. ID tournament, she consistently placed in the top 3. Having said that, when IRyS plays against her own chat, she has a much harder time placing higher.
Beware the Nice Ones: She comes off as this at times, since she is very polite and soft spoken regardless of what she's doing or talking about. On an Among Us collab in late October 2021, for example, she never gave off any suspicion that she was an impostor simply by being friendly to whomever she planned on killing just before carrying it out.
Been There, Shaped History: Her cameo in the "Gawr Gura - Shark'd" animation implies that IRyS was the one who influenced Gura into joining Hololive in the first place.
Bilingual Bonus: The title of her debut single, "Caesura of Despair". Not only is "caesura" the Latin word for "cutting" (appropriate as a Hope Bringer), but it's also the name of a metrical pause or break in a verse where one phrase ends and another begins, thus tying into her musical motif.
"Blackmail" Is Such an Ugly Word: During her Mother Simulator stream, she insists that the baby she was raising was not kidnapped, it "came willingly", despite describing the baby's origins as having been "picked off the street".
Blank Stare: She sometimes pulls off a stare so focused that she looks like she's staring at your soul, and she has done this a few times.
Born of Heaven and Hell: She's a Nephilim, part angel and part demon. Her overall appearance leans more towards her demon side. Though, she does have a halo made out of white/black stars and her wings are one side dark and the other light.
Butt-Monkey: IRyS is often this in collab streams with Gen 1 members. Nowhere is this more apparent than the Phasmophobia group stream, where Kiara, Ina, and Gura would use her as bait to draw out the ghost and laugh at her terror and expense.
Can't Hold Her Liquor: IRyS doesn't have a particularly high alcohol tolerance, notably getting drunk and dropping her filters after just half a can of sparkling wine. She mentions that it's precisely for this reason that she doesn't normally drink on stream.
Carry a Big Stick: She gained a spiked metal bat as part of her July 2022 accessories update.
Casual Kink: She seems to get off on being slapped. Whereas the other victims of Fauna's slapping spree have reacted with horror upon being smacked repeatedly across the face, IRyS seemed to be more aroused by the act instead, if her loud moaning is any indication.
Catchphrase:
- "HIRyS, it's IRyS!" whenever she starts a stream. According to her, this greeting was suggested as a joke by her sister but she invokeddecided to incorporate it anyway. Apparently this is a Shared Family Quirk, as IRyK has his own version.
- "ByeRyS!" when she ends a stream.
Child of Two Worlds: Her character is of mixed demonic-angelic heritage.
Comedic Sociopathy: Seems to be developing a mild streak for this with how often she cheerily states she wants to eat or harm other creatures in the games she plays, from the baby she has to take care of in Mother Simulator, to the penguins from Penguin's Dogma, even more so when she's not fazed at the suggestion that they might be humans when she has to don a penguin suit for stealth, and finally, her frequent cooing over how cute the sea life in Subnautica is while also stating that she hopes they're yummy while she preps them into food at the escape pod station. To this end, she also becomes quite excited when she discovers how to use Ame's PPP.
IRyS: I can kill as many zombie babies as I want! Is this Heaven!?
Companion Cube: Her custom mechanical keyboard. She even mentioned that she would sleep with it if she could.
Covert Pervert: Despite her outwardly wholesome personality, IRyS is implied to be more "yabai" than she lets on, ranging from her casually blurting out sexual terms at the drop of a hat, or knowing exactly what a suggestive imagery is supposed to mean and giggling out loud about it. Her fanbase even coined the term "YabaIRyS" specifically for such occasions.
Cute Little Fangs: Four of them.
Damsel in Distress: Became this during her first ever Mine Craft stream, where having mistakenly logged on to the JP Server, became beset by all manner of monsters, with her lack of game experience and gear preventing her from defending herself. She was rescued in heroic fashion by Polka, who was logged in at that moment, before being taken to safety.
Dark Is Not Evil: Despite being a half-demon, half-angel, she has a lot more demonic traits on her body, and looks like a typical villain from a JRPG or a Dark Magical Girl. Yet the reason she was revived in our time is because our world has become riddled with despair and desperation, and so she wants to bring it back hope via her music; meaning she's a Hope Bringer.
Does Not Like Spam:
- Despite not having many food dislikes, IRyS can't stand celery. Both the taste and the texture really bother her, and she tries avoiding it at all costs.
- She's also not a fan of milk, especially the leftover after finishing her cereal.
The Dreaded: IRyS's first impressions with her peers tend to go awry in the most comedic way possible.
- Several instances of her playing Minecraft have resulted in her fellow talents being scared out of their wits by her, despite IRyS having literally no malicious intent:
  - The infamous "Hope has descended and is coming for you" between her and Ollie wasn't meant to be intimidating nor an Implied Death Threat; she just wanted to talk to her, but Ollie was panicking out of her mind and ran away from IRyS.
  - And then when both her and Kronii were playing Minecraft ^note, she accidentally scared the Time Warden to the point that Kronii ran into her bunker, resulting in a chase where IRyS tried to clear up the understanding and even died from fall damage once. Kronii later apologized and they started playing together ^note.
    Kronii: Hope is scary, hope is a four-letter word. You know what else is a four-letter word? Fear.
- Outside of Minecraft, she joined in Anya's reverse totsumachi and intimidated her senpai by jokingly prodding at her forbidden topic list to get her to eat more raisins.
- On the other hand, as noted in Comedic Sociopathy, Soft-Spoken Sadist, and in this exchange of Tweets between her and Ollie, she is not above playing with her scariness for her own amusement.
- She is scarily good at playing Dead by Daylight as the killer as she can easily sneak up on someone, waiting for someone to save her intended and hapless victims, and ambush her friends when they are too busy trying to survive. Hope has descended and is coming for you indeed.
- In the October 2021 Among Us collab of all of EN, jokes about her having the power to casually wipe out Holo EN Council have arisen when she did just that in-game during her second turn as an Impostor.
Drives Like Crazy: Her skill as a bus driver in Bus Simulator leaves a lot to be desired, with her running over pedestrians and crashing into things on a regular basis.
Duality Motif: Her gloves, boots, and wings are affected by this, since she's a nephilim: white for her angelic right half and black/crimson for her demonic left half.
Exotic Eye Designs: Her pupils are diamond-shaped. They're more noticeable in her redesign thanks to the brighter irises of her eyes.
Face of a Thug: Her being a nephilim has her take more design cues from her demon heritage than her angel heritage, and her facial design (at least before her redesign) is unlike most Hololive members, but IRyS happens to be one of the sweetest members of Hololive who almost never loses her temper.
Fangirl: A very mild and downplayed example, where IRyS admitted to having a crush on Luigi when she was younger. She also revealed herself to be a big shipper who would get disappointed when her pairings didn't end up together.
Fashionable Asymmetry: Aside from the obvious Duality Motif, her black boot is a longer cut that extends into her skirt while her white boot is shorter and shows skin. Her 2.0 design gives her a symmetric outfit instead, though with Bloom on one sleeve shoulder and Gloom on the other.
Flower Motifs: The Iris flower, which represents faith, hope, courage and wisdom. Spiritually, it also symbolizes a trinity. In her original design, it was present on her brooch and in her debut music video. In her redesign, several of the flowers are adorned on her dress, while the pattern on her skirt resemblez the flower petals.
Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: She and IRyK throw this ball back and forth between each other. On the one hand, IRyS is the one with an actual career and seems to have her head on straighter than her brother, who is regarded as an oddball Butt-Monkey within Ministry and displays even more egregious "yabai" tendencies than his sister. On the other, the main reason why IRyK became a host in the first place is to provide for IRyS' hopelessly crippling keyboard addiction.
Fourth-Date Marriage: Exaggerated and Played for Laughs with Bae - the two of them go from flirting to Happily Married to Awful Wedded Life all in the same Minecraft stream, with their very next collab ending with Bae divorcing IRyS after the later beats her at Yahtzee.
Gamer Chick: Project: HOPE may be intended to introduce idols who focus more on singing above all else, but IRyS is still a gamer, with a fondness for the First-Person Shooter genre. Her first week of scheduling included Doom (albeit rescheduled to the next week) and Apex Legends, where she fares pretty well.
- On her first Apex Legends stream, IRyS admits that she's not that good of a player when it comes to that particular game (only putting about 100 hours into the game before joining hololive), but keen viewers can attest that her game-sense feels very natural and her aim is on point, allowing her to score Champion on her second match. Her sensible decision-making also allows her to take the lead in a September collab with Iofi and Ollie.
- IRyS is also proficient with Mario Kart 8DX, placing in the top 3 several times during the Holo ENxID August 2021 tournament despite not practicing much, and has developed a rivalry with Ina, vowing to beat the Tako priestess one day.
- She came into Elden Ring as a complete newbie to all things Soulsborne, yet she manages to acclimate to the system and difficulty swiftly enough to handle some of the game's toughest fights (such as Margit, Godrick and Moongrum) not long after encountering them.
Giver of Lame Names: She's admitted to being terrible at naming things, hence why she doesn't own any pets. Her in-game character names are also on a level of lameness that has to be seen to be believed.
Gosh Dang It to Heck!: She remains fairly conscious and pretty good at avoiding pretty much any form of cursing beyond "damn", even using shiitake (as in "shiitake mushroom") as substitute for "shit". It's usually only when she plays a horror game that truly frightens her that she slips — she goes Cluster F-Bomb while encountering the baby monster in Resident Evil Village.
The Grinch: Downplayed. She admits to loving Christmas, but she absolutely hates Santa Claus since as a half-demon, she never gets any presents. She also finds Santa to be creepy for breaking into children's homes.
Harmful to Minors: Memes about her being this have sprung up thanks to her rough handling of the baby in Mother Simulator and her showing willingness to let a supernatural threat take the baby as long as it didn't hurt her in Night Delivery. She apparently enjoys the meme as she played along with the kidnapping jokes in the former, and made a joke in the latter about how she didn't drop the child that time—only sacrificed him.
Heads or Tails?: She decided on her fanbase name with a coin toss between Nephamily and Irystocrats. It landed on tails, so Irystocrats became the official name, while Nephamily later became the name of her Membership via a stream poll.
The Hermit: Unlike hololive Myth who live in fancy-looking homes that they've built themselves in Minecraft, IRyS' "house" was a small mud hut in a secluded spot near the main build area until Ollie spiced it up with planks and cobblestone. She has since expanded it and included artificial items such as windows and two sets of double-doors, but kept the exterior covered in dirt and flowers simply because she liked the aesthetics. When she hovered over to holoCouncil's Minecraft houses, she's shocked to find that they, much like holoMyth, have significantly more elaborate buildings like Kronii's bunker.
Heroes Love Dogs: IRyS loves dogs and has acquired six of them in Minecraft.
Hidden Buxom: According to redjuice's official design sheet, IRyS is actually supposed to be an E-cup^note, despite her outfit not showing much. When moving on to 2.0, IRyS noticed that "her tofu got nerfed", though it's mitigated by the increased Jiggle Physics and IRyS mentioning that one of the two apps she uses has unnerfed assets.
IRyS: "Non-nerfed for membership." I'm not gonna make that the selling point of my membership, okay?
Hide Your Otherness: In order to blend in more easily with humans, IRyS can make her wings and halo invisible, though her horns and pointed ears are another story since they're part of her anatomy. She can, however, pass them off as cosplay props.
High Heel Hurt: IRyS admits she doesn't like wearing high heels because they hurt her feet; her 2.0 outfit has new shoes that are lower-heeled.
Hope Bringer: Which she intends on doing through The Power Of Music.
Horned Humanoid: Has two pairs of horns, one short, one long. She's not too fond of these as they tend to scuff up her pillows whenever she sleeps. The horns are less prominent for her redesign, with the explanation being that IRyS is veering closer to an angel and thus her demon traits are lessening.
Humble Goal: She has shared that, when she joined Hololive, she dreamed of being "one of those cool VTubers who get clipped". Not only did this happen immediately upon her debut, she has a few clip channels dedicated solely to her.
I Just Want to Have Friends: Nephilims don't have much contact with humans, and IRyS wishes to make friends with all of her sempais in Hololive.
Implied Death Threat: IRyS once logged into the EN Minecraft server while Ollie was doing some preparations for the server merge later in the week, including a few "modifications" to IRyS' house. The very first thing IRyS does when she catches up to Ollie is munching on some Rotten Flesh while looking directly at the horrified zombie senpai, then wordlessly chasing her across the overworld into the Nether regardless of the barriers Ollie put in place to slow her down. Keep in mind, this was their very first interaction.

Incest Subtext: Something noted about IRyK by the other members of Ministry is that he can't stop talking about his sister, even when he's meant to be wooing other women as a host. This has led them to believe that he is a siscon.
Irony: For someone whose fellow EN members heap praise upon praise of her being very girly, IRyS herself doesn't think she's as girly as everyone makes her out to be, especially when put next to every member who traveled to Japan in early 2023; while they're already up in the morning styling their hair, IRyS is still sleeping, has to be abruptly woken up by Bae, and would rather put a hat on than make complicated braids like Fauna.
Limited Wardrobe: For a year and a half after debut, IRyS only had her main outfit and no alternates. This became noticeable when the rest of EN received New Year's kimonos in January 2022, which Council got as first alternates before she did. Later that year, she received a new design with a new outfit, but because the old design was retired, she was still left with a single outfit as the new model didn't provide for the reuse of the old outfit. IRyS finally gained an alternate with her very own New Year's kimono in January 2023.
Literal Metaphor: She has a curious tendency to die in Minecraft from falling off of places or into holes in the ground. Hope has descended indeed. Lampshaded by IRyS herself.

Loophole Abuse: While IRyS was prevented from posting new Tweets after being slapped with a temporary suspension prior to her debut, her profile bio was still plainly visible, and was utilized as an impromptu status update to communicate with her followers until the situation was resolved.
Milking the Giant Cow: After having met her in person, Bae has said that she talks with her hands a lot, much to her own questioning. Responses pointed out that her hands can often be heard hitting objects on stream.
Motifs:
- The repeat sign used in musical notation, referencing her rebirth. This was the last image seen at the end of the eight-hour countdown to her teaser trailer and it's her very first tweet.
- The four-pointed star/diamond. They are seen as patterns on her gloves, boots, and lace on her chest. They also comprise her halo, her pupils, and her wings are shaped like them.
Motor Mouth: Not usually, but when worried that she might not be able to catch up to the massive number of superchats sent to her during her first Apex Legends stream, she unsuccessfully tries to turn off the superchat function, before settling for reading superchat names at the speed of light. Unfortunately for her, even more superchats appear even as she does speed-reading.
My Nayme Is: Her name is pronounced "iris". Its peculiar capitalization is a possible homage to AZKi's.

N-Z

Narrator: IRyS provides both the English and Japanese narrations for the miniseries of lore-building videos in the lead-up to the introduction of HoloCouncil.
Nephilim: Half-demon, half-angel. This is shown by the black and white stars behind her, demonic horns, and mismatched eye colors.
Never Gets Fat: Although she claims to not be very fit, her metabolism is apparently good enough to play this trope straight, where she won't pack on weight unless she eats excessively and late into the night.
Never Learned to Read: She's a professional VSinger who can't read sheet music, a trait which is not uncommon among self-taught singers and musicians. Played straight in a collab in the form of an exam of sorts organized by Gura; when Gura reveals the a question asking her "students" to name a treble clef, IRyS sheepishly remarks she doesn't know what it was called. All other members were in disbelief.
Ollie: IRYS HAS THE UPPER HAND!
IRyS: ...you guys, you guys, uh, I think I heard Ollie saying "IRYS HAS THE UPPER HAND!" but I have no idea what this is! [bursts into laughter]
Gura: Uh oh.
Bae: IRyS?!
Gura: The VSinger?
Bae: VSinger?! IRyS?!
IRyS: Aaaah!!!! I've seen it before! It's a fancy... it's a fancy... it's very fancy lookin', um... [squeals]
Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: Bless her heart, she tries to be welcoming in Minecraft, but she has quite the penchant for doing and saying things that come off as vaguely threatening to the other side, as Kronii and Ollie both found out when IRyS running after them to try and make peace instead resulted in them running in terror from the seemingly Implacable Woman hunting them down.
IRyS: I wonder how [Kronii] sounds when she's scared? I bet she still sounds as lovely as ever...
Non-Human Humanoid Hybrid: She can easily pass off as a human if she hides her otherworldly features, but she is actually a Nephilim.
Non-Standard Character Design: IRyS 1.0 looked notably different from the other Hololive girls due to her more detailed and less stylized features. Her body was more realistically proportioned, while her face had a very prominent nose and smaller eyes which contrast the Big Anime Eyes of the other girls. Her color palette was a lot darker and more saturated, while the rest have soft colors with little shading. Trying to superimpose her face onto other members will drive it straight into the uncanny valley instead. Her 2.0 design, while still drawn by the same artist, brings her appearance more inline with the rest of the Hololive girls, with brighter colors and simpler, more "anime" shading.
Not a Morning Person: Self-admitted, as she has such difficulty waking up in the morning that not even coffee can help her, and is at her most productive during evening hours.
Not What It Looks Like: The big misunderstanding between her and Kronii during their first Minecraft encounter on September 14, 2021; IRyS accidentally hits one of her dogs while trying to clean up Ollie's mannequins, leading Kronii to think IRyS is an animal abuser as she only heard the dogs growling at IRyS. When IRyS fails to clear up the misunderstanding in the text chat with some messages which Kronii interprets as ominous (not to mention IRyS's sword was out), a big chase ensues as Kronii flees all the way back to her bunker.
No, You: At one point near the climax of her Titanfall 2 playthrough, during the Viper boss fight.
Viper: Let me introduce you to the ground.
IRyS: [shoots down Viper] Nah, let me introduce you to the ground.
One-Person Birthday Party: During her 2022 birthday stream, she starts off in a dark room, singing "Happy Birthday" to herself... but then she's greeted with applause and was surprised to find out that she wasn't celebrating alone.
Only One Name: IRyS. Played with in that she does have a full name, however, half of it is blacked out.
Ojou : Declared to be one by Calli and Bae during an off collab after she mentioned certain favorite pieces of brand name clothing (specifically Abercrombie & Fitch, Victoria's Secret Pink, Ugg and Juicy Couture), as well as how she used to get 5 dollar bills from the tooth fairy. Of course, she vehemently denies being this.
Opaque Nerd Glasses: She gained a pair of these with her schoolgirl uniform in late January 2024, complete with thick swirly lines on the lenses.
Otaku: A very big fan of anime, listing Neon Genesis Evangelion, Angel Beats!, Fafner in the Azure: Dead Aggressor, Bakuman。, and Death Note, among others, as her favorites. She wishes to sing many anime theme songs, and even sang "Cruel Angel's Thesis" in her debut stream. She's also familiar with common anime trope names, such as using the -dere character types in her vocabulary.
Pair the Spares: Internally, Amelia pairs her with Ina, who is the only member of Holo EN to be without an "official" ship mate. Overall, she's become increasingly associated with Bae instead, which still counts as Bae tends to be the odd one out of her generation as well.
Phrase Catcher: Bottom left moments tend to illicit a response of "YabaIRyS" from her chat.
Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: "Hope has descended and is coming for you" typed over Minecraft chat to Ollie for the incident mentioned in Implied Death Threat. Was also spoken when she drew the imposter role during an Among Us collab.
The Prankster: She pulled off a particularly excellent prank on Kronii by lining the walls, ceiling, and floor of one of her rooms in the Bunkeronii on the EN server with watermelons, even replacing the carpet so it wouldn't be seen.
Pungeon Master: She is on her way to rivaling Ina the resident punlord.
- She opens and closes all of her streams with puns on her own name with "Hi-RyS" and "Bye-RyS".
- She (and the chat) are also fond of using "Yabai-RyS" when she does something not so wholesome.
- Soon she began attaching the "-RyS" suffix to various random words depending on situation, in a similar manner to how Ina puns her own name.
- Her hashtag for her 2023 birthday stream was "#HopeyBirthday".
Self-Deprecation: The first glimpse we got of her personality prior to her debut was her continuously updated Twitter bio reflecting how her explosive follower spike lead to her temporary account restriction.

Shrinking Violet: She considers herself to be an introvert, though she tends to open up to people more after a while of getting to know them.
Sixth Ranger: A literal Sixth Ranger given the usual five-member format of each generation. She initially served as this for Myth, but gradually shifted towards Council after the collab ban was lifted. This is especially apparent during HoloEN's VRChat streams, where IRyS would be grouped up with Council more often than not, especially so given her "marriage" to Bae.
- In the VRChat streams, only Myth have proper Smol models. IRyS and Council both had their own models introduced together, where they had to wait in the same room until Myth properly showed them off to the world.
- The nature of IRyS' "generation" makes her very flexible and allows her to serve as the extra member for either when needed, which is reflected in holoEN's cover of Ochame Kinou, where she is placed in with both during the group shots. Other idols, such as Calli, have specifically singled her out as being her own categorical entry that is neither Myth nor Council.
- During the 3rd Holo FES, every idol and star had their outfits on mannequins on display. Every outfit was lined up according to the debut order of each character from left to right. Calli started on the left side for Myth, and Amelia was on the far right. IRyS debuted before Council, so her outfit was on the far left side of Council's display, followed next by Sana then Fauna.
- For her part, IRyS more or less considers herself part of Council, and they in turn see her as an Honorary True Companion as well.
- As of the debut of the BeegSmol models, she has more or less become a Council member. Not only does she get a new Smol model, but she also gets her own throne and Hope statue.
- After so long, IRyS finally became an official part of Council on 8 October 2023, with the combined unit of Council + IRyS officially named "Hololive EN Promise".
Soft-Spoken Sadist: Gained a reputation for this among her fans for having a calm, cheerful, and friendly manner of speaking even as she gleefully puts NPCs in games through the wringer, or wonders how they'd taste like. Taken to its logical extreme during her ASMR test stream, where she cuts the listener's ear off all while maintaining a pleasant, soothing voice.
Solo Duet: She did a cover of "Identity" from Kanaria, singing both parts.
Sore Loser: A non-toxic variety. While IRyS does get salty very quickly whenever she loses in a game, the worst she would do is being playfully passive-aggressive about it, or Rage Quitting and start picking on the AI in single-player, instead of the furniture smashing and Trash Talking commonly seen on Amelia's streams.
The Stinger: Frequently closes streams after her ending sequences with the "secret ending". A dark screen, followed by whispering whatever thoughts she wants to say, before ending with her farewell catchphrase.
Taught by Experience: She mentions in her first Q&A stream that her singing prowess is self-taught, much like Suisei. This comes up during her RE8 playthrough, when she reveals she can't read sheet music.
Terrible Artist: The Gartic Phone collab reveals that she only knows how to draw crude stick figures.
That Came Out Wrong: While IRyS is a sweet and friendly person, she can sometimes come off rather threatening without meaning to, which Kronii can attest to. Additionally, she's often says suggestive phrases by accident, often enough that her chat has developed the nickname "YabaIRyS" for whenever this occurs.
Theme Naming: Due to her Giver of Lame Names tendency, almost every name she comes up with is a Pun on her own, with it being used either as a suffix ^note, or a prefix ^note.
Tomboy and Girly Girl: With Bae, being the girly girl to Bae's tomboy. IRyS is one the other hand is one of (if not the most) girly members of EN, having a polite ladylike attitude, having cutesy and girly interests, and dresses in a very elegant dress. Bae by contrast is one of the most tomboyish members of EN (alongside Calli), with Bae dressing like a rebellious street-punk, speaks in Totally Radical lingo, and doesn't shy away from acting brash and unladylike onstream with her anger outbursts.
Trademark Favorite Food:
- Her love for soda, which chat and she herself have joked about being an addiction.
- She regularly snacks on bananas, specifically chilled bananas.
Unusual Euphemism: "Playing Monopoly" has been her go-to euphemism for having sex ever since it was used for a Bait-and-Switch in her and Bae's branch of Noise Complaint.
Unusual Halo: IRyS sports a removable halo made of stars that floats behind her, half of them black and the other half white. The halo configuration is modified in her redesign, with the overall set resembling a more traditional pair of overhead halos, though they're made of black and white stars.
Vague Age: She states that she's young by Nephilim standards, but also that she's as old "as long as hope has been in your heart". Which is actually even more vague, since the explicit wording does not imply her being as old as the notion of hope itself has existed for mankind, but for how long hope has been a thing for each individual person, which is not very old at all. Needless to say, the chat had a real blast picking at this, with some of them joking how she'll be younger than Luna of all people if that's the case. She herself commented on these assumptions, saying that the chat needs to lighten up.
IRyS: You know how on my debut stream I was like "Oh, my age is how-how long hope has been in your heart.", and everyone's like "Oh, in that case, you must be ZERO years old.", like really? You guys are—you guys need more hope in your lives, man. I guess that's why I'm here, though. I guess that is why I'm here.
Verbal Tic: She has a habit of saying "yoisho" without even realizing and at times needs to make a conscious effort not to.
Vitriolic Best Buds:
- With Reine. Their dynamic together has plentiful banter and playful jabs between them even from their first one-on-one collab.
  IRyS: Sempai, you're also the first place in my heart even if I'm ahead of you in the race. Deep down in my soul, you are first place.
  Reine: [after IRyS places 12th] It's okay, IRyS, you're still number one in my heart even though you were dead last.
- Her relationship with Bae swings rapidly between "best pals" and "Sitcom Arch-Nemesis", with the two of them getting along extremely well when they're of the same mind on a certain topic, but also quickly devolving into squabbling at the slightest of provocation, which typically leads to "divorces" and subsequent reunions, rinse and repeat. Fans of both have likened their dynamic to that of an old married couple.
Vocal Dissonance: Her voice is softer and higher-pitched than what the rather mature-looking appearance of her 1.0 design might suggest. It fits her 2.0 design more.
Woman of a Thousand Voices: While too shy to advertise this ability of hers much, IRyS has repeatedly shown an impressive ability to imitate the voices of other hololive members. Best displayed in this clip, taken entirely from Kronii's POV during a collab between the two of them and Mumei (not streaming). Viewing the same scene on her stream, you can see that IRyS reads the whole thing herself, but her Mumei impression is good enough to fool many of the viewers thought it was actually Mumei speaking.
- When she and Bae did their Wife Dubs streams, IRyS's impression of Bae was so uncanny that it actually managed to fool Calli when she first opened the stream, and after figuring it out Calli would become flustered over just how similar they sounded. As described by IRyS, the voice she did sounded like "sick Bae".
- During the 2022 April Fools event, where IRyS and Council swapped models and impersonated each other on their respective channels, IRyS took the place of Kronii and quite an accurate reenactment of the Time Warden's voice.
Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She dislikes bugs.
- When Amelia hosted her bug review stream, IRyS listened to the stream in bed rather than watch.
- In one Elden Ring stream she was utterly disgusted by the Giant Ants and how detailed they were, right down to their death animations.
Yandere: She jokingly acts like this towards Kronii in their impromptu Minecraft collab after the latter offers to let IRyS move in with her but doesn't want their rooms to be right next to each other.
IRyS: i don't take no for an answer
Yin-Yang Bomb: She's this by her very nature of existence, being a half-demon Nephilim, but the MV for "Caesura of Despair" shows her as an incredibly powerful user of both light and darkness, with her usages of both affecting the entire city she was in.
You Wouldn't Like Me When I'm Angry!: She warned the chat to not upset her during her debut stream, with implications of her getting nasty when mad. Nobody took her threat seriously at first, considering her Nice Girl personality, but her reaction to Ollie's prank in Minecraft proved that she was not kidding about this being the case.
You Are Not Alone: Says it word for word in "Caesura of Despair", reinforcing her Hope Bringer theme.
